I'm not really a drinker, and definitely not of whisky if I do, but my husband wanted to do the tour on our day trip to Oban, so I got dragged along. Marty, our guide, was funny, informative, friendly and made the tour enjoyable (even for me who was clueless about the whole whisky making process). My husband enjoyed the 3 whisky samples along the way, Marty offered me mine to take home but I wasn't fussed. We did all get an Oban whisky glass to take home though. Interesting tour and enjoyed learning the process, there is a bar area inside to wait in for your tour to start and a shop.

A lovely and interesting tour. Our guide, Gavin, spoke very engagingly and passionately about the distillery and the whisky. He was also incredibly knowledgeable and conveyed this knowledge in a captivating way, with a touch of humor. It was also particularly nice that there was a special tasting package for those who still had to drive.

We had a great time on our tour with Kevin! He kept us laughing and kept the whisky and history of Oban flowing! Very nice facility in a quaint seaside village. Great value for price paid.

Had a nice tour of the distillery and learnt how whisky is made. Our guide Ross was very knowledgeable and friendly. And we got to taste three very good whiskies :-) highly recommended if you're interested in whisky.

One of the best Distillery visits I have done. The Oban Distillery is one of the oldest (legal) distilleries in Scotland and it's size is somewhat constrained by its position right I'm the centre of Oban. Instead of six or even eight stills you might find in some of the massive Speyside distilleries Oban has only two so production is limited. The Distillery visit is well animated by the Distillery staff and, unlike other visits, wee drams are distributed throughout the visit. On a rainy day in Oban this a great way to spend a couple of hours.

One of the best distilleries I’ve ever been to. The staff knows a great knowledge, also very passionate about their scotch whiskey making. The staff were friendly, very nice and just good all around beautiful people!!! I recommend this to anybody who is going to Scotland. You need to put this on your list of things to do.!!!!!!!!

Modern restaurant right on the quay overlooking the harbour. Serving super fresh fish prepared very simply. Great service from the local staff. Highly recommended.

A big glasshouse restaurant with upstairs seating as well as on ground floor so a big capacity. We were there on an April Tuesday evening and it was busy. We had booked a table to be safe. Langoustines were on the specials so we went for them as a main, in garlic butter and also as scampi. We had them in the starter with crab meat and smoked salmon. All fantastic and well served. We were shown to our table and drinks ordered and water provided. The sun was setting and we had a great view of it going down. It is situated on the north pier and you can watch ferries come and go. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal and left a healthy tip.

Nice sit down restaurant right on the pier with a wonderful view. I had fresh oysters and loungistines and both were delicious. The oysters were large and tasted very fresh. I chose to have the loungistines warm with garlic butter and they were excellent. The portion is quite large. We closed the meal with a sticky toffee pudding which was also great. Food was excellent, service is a bit slow.

We’re from Australia which has plenty of seafood, but this was one of the most amazing meals we’ve ever had! We got into Oban not realising most places needed a reservation but fortunately the lovely staff managed to fit us in. The service was amazing, we ordered 3 entrees - The Crab & Langoustine Cocktail, Scallops & 1/2 a dozen of Fresh Oysters. All of it was phenomenal! Then for our main we had the Seafood Penne and the Whole Dressed Crab which was just as amazing as our entree’s. We had a small dessert and a few glasses of wine as well with dinner but overall EE-USK is amazing, and we would highly recommend!

Went there with a party of six for lunch. Amazing! This seafood was fresh and prepared to perfection! Definitely a must-go! Btw they carry crews from Isle of Skye Brewing Company, also very nice! Great service: responsive, professional, and quick!

Amazing and fresh seafood, great service. It was our highlight in the NC500 trip, we had a very nice dinner. It is not a fish and chips restaurant but if you want a fancy night with great food, definitely stop by.

EE-USK was absolutely delicious! We went there for a casual dinner as people recommended it, and it was an ABSOLUTE success! We tried all the local fish and the homemade sauce which is a MUST! We tried some local beers as well. The traditional sticky toffee pudding was the last touch for a perfect meal. Definitely recommend going and trying some local fresh food. The service and atmosphere was really casual and relaxed. Definitely coming back whenever we pass through Oban again.

What an amazing place to eat! The food was absolutely amazing, so tasty and cook to perfection. I had the mussels and sea bass and highly recommend it. BUT lots of other dishes available and even no fish options if you desire. We will be back and all this with one of the best views on the town. I had the best mussels I've ever had here, they were so delicious. Lovely staff that helped me with my dietary requirements. Plenty for me to eat needing gluten free and dairy free, the fish a chips were fantastic also. The 2 course set menu I think was very reasonably priced. Thank you for a lovely meal!

We ate here two years ago and made it a point of eating here again. Well looked after by Josie, we had the scallops, halibut and the traditional fish and chips. All were excellent and locally sourced. The venue has a great view of the harbour and it's a really friendly atmosphere. We were so impressed that they have maintained their high standards and the prices are reasonable. Eat here!

We recently had a meal here and it was a perfect place to dine. The setting is picturesque and right by the water. The decor inside is stunning and really lovely. It would be good if the lighting was dimmed slightly and candles lit as this could have added to the ambience but overall it was a really nice setting. There is a set menu which we weren’t aware of. This looked to be excellent value but we were too late (not the restaurants fault). It was a little off putting as the the prices were much higher if eating from the standard menu. For this reason, we chose to skip the starters. However, the choices on offer on the menu were great. I chose the salmon main and my Mum had the sea bass. Both dishes were presented beautifully. The portions were big. My salmon appeared to be 2 fillets. It was served with vegetables, potatoes and a sauce and it was one of the nicest salmon dishes I’ve ever eaten. My Mum loved the sea bass too and said this tasted very flavoursome and fresh. We were disappointed with our dessert - we had the cheesecake to share. At £8.50, it was a little pricey and the portion was small. It was presented well but it wasn’t particularly tasty and we were both disappointed. Every single staff member treated us so well and there was a high level of customer care throughout. We were made to feel important and the staff regularly checked in to ask if we needed anything. All in all, we throughly enjoyed our visit. Our main courses were delicious. We’d recommend going during the set meal deal period as it seemed really good value. We’ll definitely return again the next time we’re in Oban!

Such a beautiful restaurant with great staff! We came in about 15 minutes before lunch service ended, with my family of 5. They still sat us and were very attentive. Did not feel like they wanted us to leave so they could close. Our food was amazing and the mussels were the best I’ve ever had! Not too fishy- and the cream sauce was dreamy. My family enjoyed the view and our meals. Other meals ordered were soup, oysters, and the fish specials. Would HIGHLY recommend this spot in Oban to anyone else. Also good atmosphere for children. This busy restaurant located in central Oban not only has a great menu but also excellent food. The flounder, terrine and chowder were all excellent. Service was great, atmosphere great and staff were great. A very enjoyable experience. Highly recommend. 👍👍👍

Located between Oban train station and ferry terminal. It is at first floor so you have to look for entry stairs way. Reservations are recommended for dinner. We had local mussels, grilled scallops for starters. Amazingly good. For the main dishes, we ordered salmon and halibut, perfectly cooked with crispy skin. Recommended.

Had a walk to this impressive monument and gardens. Steep climb from Oban Town. We were not blessed with blue skies, but, probably more appropriately very low cloud and drizzle which didn't give us those views which I'm sure would be stunning. Having seen pictures. Undaunted we still enjoyed the experience. I would encourage folk to pay a visit and research how it came to be?

Rather a steep uphill slope but well worth it for the views from the top. Very well maintained garden are within the tower with commanding views across Oban Town and out to sea. Well lit at night too. Small free car park nearby should you wish to drive to visit. No toilets at site. Very pleased we finally made the effort to get to the tower.

With an easy uphill hike or drive from Oban's town centre, (free parking) with steps or walkway to the entrance) you are presented with Scotland's McCaigs tower on the hill, no lions I am afraid, maybe a pussy cat now and again and no seats, so no lounging around. But do take in the amazingly masterful stone masonry and awe inspiring scenery. You will not be disappointed.

I think this gets sadly missed by some, as they walk the lovely streets and sea front of Oban, but we spotted this from below and took the steep walk up to it, and it was really quite lovey, and worth the walk up to it, if you are in Oban, it’s worth a visit

Fantastic viewpoint and historical landmark. On a clear day you can see out past Lismore lighthouse and all across that beautiful area out to Mull. We'll worth the visit plus it costs nothing.

Quite simply the best place I have eaten in a long time! I’m a chef of nearly 30 years and this place seriously has mastered their market, I only wish I lived nearer so I could eat there all the time! If you are looking for fancy, this is not the place, but if you are looking for honest fresh seafood at reasonable prices and enjoy the social aspect of communal outside no thrills dining, you simply won’t find better. I wish there were places like this all over the UK, rather than golden arches and the like. My partner and I shared the big seafood platter and it was superb. Beautiful fresh cooked mussels, langoustines, prawns, calamari, a whole lobster and crab clays all for £48. We enjoyed it so much we went back for oysters and two fresh crabs to take away. The oysters were among the best, if not the best I have ever eaten - lovely plump and creamy - and I cheffed in Australia 16 years with beautiful produce. Likewise the fresh dressed crab (yes I did cheat and get a dressed one, although whole crabs were also available) was probably the tastiest brown crab I can remember. 10/10 to these guys, keep up the great work!

Amazing spot for some fresh seafood. We opted for some oysters & the large £48 platter. Oh boy it was HUGE! Plenty of stuff on there for sharing & a very good variety. Noteworthy were the scallops & salmon. Really delicious. I think this was fabulous value for money. No wonder it’s famous for their seafood! YUM. There are a few tables to eat & rub elbows with fellow customers but if this doesn’t bother you then it’s perfect 🙌🏻

Seafood was very fresh and tasted great. The portion sizes are really good too for the price. On our second visit they had limited supply of lobster sandwich, probably the most expensive sandwich I've ever bought at £10, but was very well worth the price as they didnt skimp on the lobster meat! Shame they didn't have a lot of seats so had to sit at a nearby bench as the seagulls eye up our food. Seating is also outside so may get cold and wet.

If you come to Oban and miss the Seafood Hut, you'll be missing out. We ordered: Lobster 10/10 Scallops 10/10 Mussels 10/10 - expect a portion that outweighs he price. Oysters 1000/10 - the oysters of the day we went were rather large. I typically prefer them small and sweet but these we so beautiful, creamy and delicious that it made me reevaluate my favourites.

This spot is a must-visit for fresh seafood lovers! The platters are incredible value—portions are generous, perfect for sharing, and packed with variety. Highlights include the mussels, scallops, salmon, and especially the oysters, which are unbelievably large, fresh and flavorful. Whether you’re going for the affordable £29.95 platter or splurging on the £48 premium option, you’ll leave more than satisfied. The only downside is limited seating, so you might end up eating nearby while dodging seagulls. Despite this, the quality and taste make it worth it.

A great way to experience seafood, and atmosphere,on Oban Pier. The choice of sea-fresh seafood was outstanding, and preparation is before your eyes! This cash only place is a real " street food" experience, with the most delicious seafood around. Choose your dish, pay in cash, eat on rudimentary shared tables, wash your hands at the outside tap system! A perfect way to enjoy seafood.

This hut was a nice change of pace for quicker, casual eating in Oban. A lot of non fried seafood options. There is a small amount of seating but a lot of people just took their food and ate around the pier. They are cash only. I got fresh mussels steamed in garlic and white wine and scallops in garlic butter. Ordering was very quick (even though we were there during lunch time) and food came out piping hot and fresh. These fresh mussels were the best I have ever had and the scallops were served with the roe attached. My friends tried the prawn and crab sandwich. Both sandwiches were hits but I would recommend getting the fresh hot food. The sandwiches are premade on sliced bread and made with mayo (like a tuna salad). This is definitely a must visit while in Oban for amazingly fresh seafood.

Excellent service and tasty food. Felt the restaurant would of benefited from some background music playing over the speakers. I enjoyed my starter of butternut squash risotto, however I found the size of the portion to be very small. Extensive wine list to choose from. Reservations are recommended in advance. Very tasty fish and chips. My friends scallops were the biggest scallops I've ever seen and she enjoyed them. Disappointed with the cheap poor quality salt and pepper & wine glasses.

Such a nice place. It's calm, the staff is very nice and the food is delicious. Portions are a bit small for the price, but I don't mind as it's very good. I had the cauliflower croquettes (£18) and almond cake for dessert (£8)

My husband and I saw this place on a highly rated list of restaurants in Oban, safe to say this place really lived up to the hype! Our first visit & evening in Scotland and it far exceeded our expectations , especially for the prices, so reasonable for the incredible experience. We had the scallops, the sole, the beef and the mussels, along with a few desserts and each dish was clearly made with expertise and love. The staff are lovely too, we highly recommend everyone to try this incredible restaurant!

Food was amazing. Service was quite quick. If I have any critique, it is that they are so busy, because of their amazing food, that you don't really have time to get to know your server.

Excellent hospitality & great food. Menu offers various choices between fish & meat which bring some challenges on what to choose. I really liked my venison with the vegetables. Starter was delicious, i was a bit unlucky which got exchanged immediately with a new one and came on the house with the bill. Superb service! The rhubarb ginger sponge cake was superlicious

We had a truly delightful meal here. We booked ahead for our first night in Oban, and we’re so glad we did. Delicious vegetarian dishes (including the Goat’s Cheese Salad and Butternut Squash Risotto, pictured), but also well-executed classics—my husband loved the fish and chips. Nicola is such a kind and welcoming host. It all made for a lovely evening!

This shop has a lot of chocolate you can buy for eating and also other treats like coffee, ice cream, and a bakery case. We ordered a strong dark hot chocolate, mocha, peanut butter and jelly brownie, and banana date walnut ninja slice. For a chocolate shop, I was quite disappointed with the hot chocolate. It tasted like it was made with water instead milk. It didn't feel very chocolatey or creamy. We thought that peanut butter and jelly brownie was good but more just brownie and peanut butter (I didn't get any jelly). We also bought some chocolate truffles/bonbons for takeaway, which were good. This may be a good stop for some chocolate gifts but the food and drink were just OK.

I arrived moments before the store was filled with a group of tourists. I spent too much time admiring the displays of chocolate, ended up ordering a hot chocolate after the tourist group. This meant it was a long minute wait before my hot chocolate would be ready. Had to cancel the order (my transport was leaving in five minutes) and settled with savoring a few chocolate candies while in transit.

Visit August 2025. Initially visited in August 2020 & the shop looks the same but they come with a lot of variety now. The shop is split between the chocolate shop with fabulous displays of different flavours that they offer and a café which has delightful baked good. Personally we're suckers for a good scone and a cuppa of hot chocolate; like the single origin that they use. They also offer dairy alternatives. They also had an accessible toilet which is available for everyone and is accessible to any paying patrons. Overall, the Oban chocolate company is a nice place to stop by to grab locally handmade chocolate and if we were in the area we would be paying them a visit.

The BEST billionaire's shortbread I have ever had! We stopped in to buy their homemade chocolates (which are superb) and stayed for a coffee. Boy are we glad we did! The coffee was excellent but the cakes were sublime. The custard cream biscuits were delicious, just melted in your mouth. Highly recommend and we'll definitely be back!

The best iced mocha I've ever had, and I've had a lot. It was like an indulgent chocolate milkshake with coffee. Would highly recommend! Also has a fruit scone which was delicious.

Brilliant Chocolate Fondue, a must try! The home made marshmallows that come with it are the best! Recommend upgrading your hot chocolate to the single origin version as they are much tastier if you love chocolate!

Been wanting to visit since our last trip to Oban a few years ago, and managed to do it today. Very interesting and varied exhibits, most if not all donated to them! Amazing info boards that go with the exhibition. Historical facts and a movie about the local area and history in the back room. The volunteers and staff are very knowledgeable and happy to explain or help in any way. Donations are welcome and encouraged as they don't have other types of funding, and they keep it as free entry.

So much history here! Definitely worth a visit for a wee donation. The man on duty was very knowledgable and friendly. A lot to see

This was a lovely little museum. I’m not really into war stories or war memorabilia I just I’m not into that. However, this was a very nice exhibit, I would love to see more history but the local area apart from the wars which would span other areas and might make more interesting for people like myself who don’t have an interest in wartime items. However, this really gives you an insight into the people of the area and who served and who died in the conflicts in recent times. The staff were excellent and very friendly definitely worth a visit.

This Museum is free, so was not expecting a lot, wow it was full to the brim with 1st and 2nd WW memorabilia, photo's, models and a lot more.. see pics. It's all on one floor so easy to get around, helpful gents on entrance to send you in the right direction 👌

Very good film about the history of the place and the castle. Nice museum in the old part (1745) of the home of the MacDougall clan chief. A short moderately steep walk up to the castle ruins and lovely panoramic views. Lots of places for kids to play outside and a lovely tea area.

Loved this destination - we explored the castle with a hot beverage (oat chai which was delightful), meandered through gardens, chatted with volunteers, loved the tiny gift shop, and really enjoyed lunch! Worth the stop and could easily spend and enjoy an afternoon here.

Dunollie Castle, the MacDougall ancestral home and museum, is situated on a high point overlooking Loch Linnhe in Oban. The castle is a ruin however, the museum is located in an 18th century building within the grounds. There is also a coffee shop. It was interesting to learn about the MacDougall Clan history, medical background, their enlightened views and charitable works. Well worth a visit. 👍👍👍

One of my favorite castle I've seen. The person at the stand was sooooo welcoming, so sweet, I adored her. It's nice to know that there's is still a chief of the clan living there and that the way of living of clan's stayed traditional. Very inspiring. The garden was also very beautiful, zen and smelled very good. What I've love is also the history about the little building around, about the maid too, for me Scotland is about the little thing more than the castle and you did point out everything, thank you for being so humble and generous with historical facts.

We really enjoyed our visit to Dunollie Museum and Castle. I was particularly interested in the MacDougall connection since I have an ancestor who was a MacDougal; she was a very capable, interesting person by all accounts. We appreciate all the friendly, informative conversations we had with the Dunollie staff and were very impressed with the excellent movie about the history of Dunollie. We bought a number of books and copies of the movie for our relatives who will be fascinated with the history and clan information. The view from the castle ruins was spectacular!

Interesting museum, ruins and local history well worth a visit. Absolutely perfect location for a small wedding, or if a couple just want to marry by themselves, no stress, no drama, relaxed at your own pace, which makes it more personal. If you do get married, it's always after the general public leave, so you have the whole place to yourselves.

Beautiful Castle grounds and great Clan MacDougall history. The cafe with the millionaire shortbread was an extra cherry on top. Done forget to walk in the trails after your visit to the castle and house.

Lovely little gift shop just off the main street. Got lots of gorgeous jewellery, crockery, and photos. Got a nice little jewellery dish and a card for my Mum. Shopkeeper was lovely and very friendly. Definitely worth a visit!

What a brilliant shop! Carefully curated with beautiful homeware, jewellery, candles, cards etc all from independent makers. Fantastic to see in Oban!

Bright and uncluttered gift shop that's been open for less than a year , lots of unusual gifts far removed from the usual tacky tartan rubbish , liked the small weaving kit

Arrived around 8:30 pm even though the restaurant closes at 9, and the staff were very welcoming — no problem getting a table. Service was great and everyone was really friendly. The menu is impressive, modern, and full of tasty and healthy options. I had the creamy mushroom soup and the local salmon — both were absolutely delicious. My friend had the ribs, which looked fantastic, so I’ll definitely be back to try those next time. Highly recommend Cuan Mór if you’re in Oban — great food, great atmosphere, and excellent service.

This restaurant/cafe is centrally located in Oban. It serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The eggs Benedict were excellent. Coffee not as good; a bit burnt. Nice atmosphere, quick service and nice staff. Recommend this place. 👍👍👍

Restaurant was really busy, we were here during the October week so Oban in general was busy but we were given a table for 3 really quickly and didn't wait long for our food. Enjoyed my mussels n fries and my daughter had the scampi tacos, she also liked. Fish n chips were good, considering we ordered from the lunch menu, portions were enough but main courses were £12 and under. Would recommend for lunch and a pint.

Lovely little restaurant next to the harbour with a wide variety of meals including venison burger and pie. Great value for money. I've eaten here 3 times in the last 2 weeks as I really enjoyed the food. The specials are usually excellent some of which gave been haggis spring rolls and mixed grill

Stopped in twice off of recommendations for the gluten free menu (for celiac) and was not disappointed, at all, nor were my gluten-eating friends. Had the rib platter which had fantastic flavors at a surprisingly good value while my friends tried the muscles and a pie. Busy spot and they can be dashing around but everyone is friendly, just give them a moment

Satay chicken was quite good, corn ribs was just boiled corn and mayo, and the steak frites were disappointing. Even though the sides and the peppercorn sauce was quite good, the steak itself was unevely cooked, indicating that it was possibly frozen and not fully thawed. For dessert, we wanted to try the 6 layer fudge cake, only to be let down as it also seemed reheated from frozen. Overall, the prices were quite good for the portions, however, the fact that the steak might be from frozen concerns me about the quality of the upscale steakhouse in the back... Staff was kind and helpful, but some dirty napkins and cutlery were overlooked between courses.

Called in after a hike up Beinn Lora, staff were friendly food smelt great from outside. I had the handmade burger, for me it was just right, so nice to have a genuinely flame grilled burger 🍔. I ate it too fast to take a picture. My wife had ribs, she really enjoyed them too. Couple of pints ❤️ Hearty grub after a hill walk 👍🏻

Fabulous fish and chips and great little restaurant inside. We got seated straight away but timed it just right, as it wasn't long until people were waiting for seats. Good service, although the two waitresses were very busy so hard to get their attention to pay. We weren't in a rush so happy to wait. Will definitely return if we are back in Oban.

Oban Fish & Chips The atmosphere was warm, cozy, and very welcoming. The seating area is on the smaller side, but that actually added to the charm and made the experience feel even more enjoyable. We ordered the classic fish and chips along with tea, and it was served properly on a plate with a tea cup — a lovely touch compared to some other places. The fish and chips were absolutely fabulous, cooked perfectly, and easily some of the best we’ve had. We were seated right away, though we quickly realized we had timed it perfectly, as people were waiting shortly after we arrived. The service was excellent — the waitress was clearly very busy but never lost her smile and made everyone feel welcome. For the quality of food and service we received, the price was very good and absolutely worth it. We’ll definitely return on our next visit to Oban and highly recommend this little gem to anyone looking for a proper fish and chips experience.

We stopped in for lunch yesterday before sailing to Mull. Steve had the large haddock and chips and I had the salt and pepper squid with chips. Both were cooked to perfection and the portion sizes did not disappoint at all! Delicious food and a great space to relax in. The background music was good too! If you’re in Oban and fancy some fish and chips then make this place your go to.

Traveling from the US, we’ve had plenty of fried fish over the years, but not technically what locals would call “fish and chips”. The Oban Fish & Chip Shop, however, was our third fish and chips of the trip. And definitely the best of the bunch. My family had the haddock, and one of us had the chicken tenders. Everyone ate every bite. The fried fish breading was super light and crisp, and the fish was full of flavor. Service was good and the food was served quickly and hot. Great value, too!

We ordered the Fish and Chips(cod), seafood chowder and mac n cheese. The chowder was so good, it literally brought my wife to tears. The fish was superb and the Mac and cheese was amazing. The staff was prompt, attentive and friendly. You have to try this place if you ever visit Oban.

Not the cheapest chippy but the fish is so fresh and everything is cooked to order in front of you , its definitely the best one in Oban . I had a few things when visiting , Hake , large Haddock , chips , and Scallops . The Scallops were very expensive but so good , so a wee treat . The house salad was also excellent with grapes and radish in amongst the usual stuff .

This place clearly deserves its award for the best fish and chips—because it absolutely is. The taste stayed with me long after my holiday, and I found myself thinking about it again and again. If you love fish and chips, this spot is a must-try.

Nice looking restaurant on the water, but unfortunately the food was sup-par. I got the soup special, which was minestrone, but tasted just like the canned soup you get from the supermarket. At £7.50, it was overpriced and very underwhelming. We also got a margherita pizza that lacked basil (kind of a key ingredient here) and only tasted like something after dumping a lot of Parmesan on it. Husband’s pasta was equally bland. A flatbread appetizer was also overpriced and underwhelming. We were only passing through, but have to think there’s better food in Oban.

We had lunch here on the pier in Oban - it exceeded my expectations by quite a bit. I had thought it was strictly pizza and Italian dishes, but I had the most amazing dressed crab dish. It was fantastic. The locations looks much different on the inside than what the outside presents - it is lovely and very welcoming inside. The staff was terrific. Very enjoyable.

This is the place you end up at if you haven’t made a reservation at a better restaurant. Food is passable. I got linguine with sea bass. The mushroom sauce was good, but the sea bass was overcooked and flavorless. Presentation-wise, the cook didn’t work hard. The brown food was placed on a plate. Done and dusted. Speaking of dusted…when they come round with a bowl of pre-grated Parmesan, get more than you usually would, because that’s going to be your best flavor note. Service was a team effort, and they were cheerful, attentive and efficient. Great location on the harbor.

Tried Piazza on Saturday night, table booked for 4 people. Lovely views across the water and pier. We were seated straight away and drinks order taken. Restaurant was rather busy but that didn't affect the service or standard of food. We tried the Minestrone soup, flatbread, goats cheese crostini for starters and were delicious. Then ordered the spinach & ricotta tortellini, pollock alla aglio and from the kids menu chicken tenders and spaghetti bolognese. Every meal was cooked to perfection and throughly enjoyed it. Price was average around £90 for 3 adults 1 child having 4 starters, 4 mains and 8 drinks. Highly recommend and i will definitely be back again. Recommend booking a table as there was a queue out the door when we were leaving. Toilets on ground floor, wheelchair accessible, spread over 2 levels, there is parking but usually busy at weekends.

Food was good quality, service was great (friendly, warm and informative). Such a shame it was let down by portion sizes. Pizza was just tiny. 8”, maybe 9” if you were being generous. See photo - my hands aren’t large…. I would have ordered a second but at £16 I decided to leave it there

Great location, well presented, friendly staff, lots of choice for food and drinks. Family friendly. Could do with a little more space between tables as it appeared too cozy and more into than I like with fellow patrons, and going pastbothers to get to the toilet facilities was a challenging task.

Really lovely, hard working, enthusiastic and helpful staff. Food tasty, good value for money and with a fabulous view. Sea food platter was very tasty.

Established and friendly cafe with freshly made lunches + cakes. Cosy interior with friendly service, busy at popular times. Staff very helpful with getting a table reserved. Classic food options with sandwiches, soups and some other dishes. Menu labeled clearly for some dietary requirements. Highlight was gluten free cake kept in separate containers and homemade. Lime + blueberry slice was excellent. Staff happy to answer GF questions and offer alternatives. Would recommend for a light lunch in a convenient central Oban location. Friends enjoyed other non-GF cakes.

my friend and i went here for a coffee and cake after exploring oban for a bit! the coffee was delicious, as were the cakes :) Lucy served us and she was so lovely and helpful and made our visit even better. pop in here if you’re in the area!!

First I had the most incredible cheese and pickle toastie, which they offer in a half size - bloody brilliant idea, and happily cater for gluten free and celiac disease. (Separate toaster = peace of mind.) Then when I told them I love baking, the owner declared she had just baked a GF blueberry and lime cake, could I wait till she iced it so I can have a taste? And wow - you wouldn’t have a clue it’s GF. It’s a winner.

Such a lovely, picturesque little cafe! Clean, cute, and such a good atmosphere. Loved the selection of fresh scones. We also got breakfast items that were delicious. 🤤 The service was so kind and welcoming. A delightful experience all around!

We took a walk after dropping off laundry and stopped here for breakfast after reading Google reviews. We had fruit scones, coffee, scrambled eggs, & toast. The eggs were steaming hot, light, & fluffy. The day was beautiful, so we sat outside. All staff were kind and helpful. If we were staying in Oban longer, we would return.

Superb little coffee house, I can see why they get busy! Lovely coffee and food. The ‘add soup’ to your order deal is great too! The Coleslaw is some of the best, well worth upgrading to.

Popped in here for some bottles of water and ended-up getting a treat for the dogs and a can of local soft drink too (Paisley Drinks Co.). The shop / cafe seemed pleasant enough and the staff were welcoming but I couldn't comment on anything past that as I was simply a passing customer and didn't stay / sit-in for food. I had a quick browse at the fridges and noted the meats and fresh foods to be local (smoked salmon, milk etc) which would be a dream to a local, and someone who liked fish. I do have to comment that two of the three items I bought were actually from over 300 miles away (water from Wales, dog treat from Reddish, England). A nice wee shop that I will visit again but I will be checking what I buy next time. *I've rated food 3 stars purely because I didn't have any so it must be a neutral rating.

What a gem.. first time visit to Oban Juat wandering the streets, passing normal tourist hot spots stumbled across this sweet little place. As they say don’t judge a book by its cover. Service super friendly and the food (home made soup ) absolutely sensational. Very tasty, generous serve, super hot, served with a couple of buttered rolls for few extra pence. If you like good coffee, don't go there for the coffee. I ordered 2 americanos that you could see the bottom of the cup. I went back to see if they could make a new one thinking they might have reused the same grounds. The worker said she could add a shot at an additional cost. £5 for 2 short americanos that tasted like dirty water!

Great wee cafe to load up before a ferry or as you pass by! Dog friendly and staff super nice too! Rune was really happy with her sausage 😊

We visited here for breakfast and it did not disappoint. The square sausage was substantial in size as was the haggis that went with it. It also stocks some lovely cheeses and meats!

Smashing cafe and staff , had time before the ferry, so some coffee and breakfast rolls. All of it was great. Dog friendly too.

A highlight of our time in Oban! The tasting menu is creative and delicious, while the service is warm and attentive. I loved hearing about the local sourcing of the ingredients. If you can, definitely add the wine pairing to the meal. Would highly recommend!

We had the tasting menu in January and it was amazing. My favourite thing was probably the Oban whiskey ice cream with honey and oats.. but even my sweet tooth enjoyed every single dish. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and everything you would expect from a Michelin starred place. I hope to come again soon!

We visited Etive as a special treat whilst in the area for our honeymoon and our visit became one of the highlights of our holiday. Etive only do a taster menu and that, together with the wine flight, well what an experience! We loved the presentation and taste of every course, and the wine pairings were perfect, the sommelier explaining the background of every wine before pouring. The ambience of the restaurant was perfect, very peaceful and relaxing. We would love to visit again if in the area and would thoroughly recommend a visit.

Outstanding tasting menu! Each course was beautifully presented and absolutely tastes great. Subtle flavour and combinations- my husband has land & sea and I had the land (vegetarian option) and both were rich and flavourful. Service was also top notch! Would highly recommend!!

The whole experience was great from start to finish. The night started with water which, at 4£ a bottle, was a bargain compared to what I’ve seen before. The wine list was then presented and I opted for the 14 beaucastel for 120£, a very fair mark up. David then brought out the bottle and informed me that my bottle of 2014 would be accompanied by a glass of the 2012, poured from a half bottle used to wash the decanter, a service treat I have never experienced before. The food was delicious and presented well, with my favorite being the potato cheddar dish with chives and truffle oil, pictured below. The scallops were also cooked perfectly, and served in a superb sauce. That being said, at the end of my meal I ordered a double espresso, which I saw on the receipt to be 8£, the only thing in the restaurant I would say isn’t worth the price. Despite the pricing, it was presented with small pieces of fudge and chocolate if my memory serves correctly. That is nitpicking though, a testament to the quality of the restaurant. Just like the 2012 beaucastel, I give the experience 94p. Special thanks to David and the other waitress, (I forgot her name unfortunately), service was great the whole night.

By far the best food, service and dining experience we had in our 7 day trip to Oban. The owners clearly care about providing well presented and delicious food supported by a wide range of good wines, whisky and aperetif to suit the meal. Local, seasonal and fresh produce, expertly prepared to give a truly delicious meal. The owner is very knowledgeable on wines and will offer excellent advice. This is a restaurant for those who want to enjoy a dining experience not for a quick bite. Booking is often essential.

This restaurant is fantastic! The wine pairing and tasting menu were very impressive. It’s even more impressive that this whole dining experience was done by a 2 man crew. We cannot wait to return when we come back to Scotland

Lovely little cafe serving pastries, soups, sandwiches and cakes. Prices are reasonable. Although menu has listings for various cakes, the display case has only 4-5 variety. Seems to be short staffed in summer.

Small coffee shop in the city with very nice and fresh food. The staff is kind and helpful , amazing service. Respect to all staff, thank you!!! You can buy some homemade delicious bread , take away food and special Oban coffee

We had breakfast here, Scottish start, porride, eggs benedict, all were beautifully cooked, eggs perfect, the porridge was nice, only wish I had took photos to show you all ....but..was too busy getting stuck into our tasty breakfast before I realised that it was all gone. Did take them of our cakes though which again were all tasty. Coffee and tea too. This cafe is well worth a visit, friendly staff, clean and welcoming inside, there is a loo downstairs. GVFM

Excellent wee cafe we found!! A warm local welcome, just what we needed for breakfast. The porridge is 5*, fresh scones 5*, and a nice coffee. Thoroughly recomend. Would love to go back for a quick lunch as the smell of fresh pies, pasties and sausage rolls was amazing!!

Best burger for a long time. My wife and I both had a large burger with apple, goats cheese and red onions. Absolutely delicious. The bun and the burger themselves were so tasty and easy to eat. Definitely recommended.

First time here. Ordered some food to take away. Tasty and nicely cooked tandoori mixed grill though smaller portion size than what I'm used to, and no sauce. The naan bread was okay, a bit doughy. Overall though, it was good and I'd go back again and try something else.

After seeing 4.2 review, Ordered vegetarian rice, currys,naan. Really disappointed. I asked for a butter naan but no butter.channa masala is tangy and blood red. They put way too much red colouring which is not advisable. My little one scared to eat as it looks like blood. Quantity was very less for the main course portion. Garlic chilli was high spicy although I'm an asian spicy eater ,I couldnt eat that chilies. Rice was good luckily. Atleast we got something to eat on that hungry night so giving 3 stars..

The best indian takeaway in Oban in my opinion. There are 3 in total but this one gives more chicken per portion and is always yummy. It's a bit tiny as a restaurant and you have to take your own alcohol I think so it's not as good as Spice World for the atmosphere.

This place was simply amazing. The owner took real good care of us and recommended the chicken "house special" (unbelievable flavour, so tasty). The lamb was also great. We got carried away and asked too much food. We took it away in a doggie bag and then when we had it for lunch (during our walk around Iona island) was even better than the night before. The service was very, very attentive. And as we were having dinner plenty people were coming to take their supper away.

One of the best and freshest curries I’ve had in a while. All home made sauces and you can really tell. If any of you want to support a small local business in Oban, this one should be on your list. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Thumbs up.

Really tasty food. We decided to sit in rather than get a takeaway, it added an extra £4.50 onto our £24.00 bill than if we had bought a takeaway. Take your own alcohol as not licenced. But you can purchase soft drinks and coffee. Small place, but nice!

Decent food. Fresh ingredients and taste delicious. I love their king prawns special dish. Would recommend for small party for dining In as the restaurant only have 4 tables and can fit only 16 people at most.

Went to this wee place for breakfast based on TripAdvisor reviews and we were not disappointed. Brilliant service with a smile from start to finish. The lady serving us took into account our dietary requirements and tailored it to suit us. My daughter asked for the cream cheese bagel with salmon & scrambled eggs. However, she didn't want the cream cheese or the scrambled egg. She was given the option to add other fillings to the bagel and she happily chose bacon and avocado. My husband has a dairy allergy & again he was well catered for.

Proper Caf! Best Scottish breakfast I’ve had so far. Nothing fancy just exactly how it should be with amazing black pudding. Would go every day if I lived in Oban

Hidden gem! Very nice cosy breakfast spot! Seating inside and out. Breakfast roll was delicious, sausage and egg tasted like very good quality and was cooked to perfection. Coffee tasted great too. Lady who served us was very welcoming and friendly would definitely recommend and return if visiting Oban again 😊

Small inconspicuous venue with GREAT food! This place is just around the corner from the Oban Distillery. We ate here just before our 10:00am whisky tour and the atmosphere, food and service was amazing. Not a lot of tables so if you can get here early. If in Oban this is a must stop eatery for sure.

Booked for Ceilidh night. Fantastic, everyone mixing, having a laugh and fun, what life's about, certainly worked up a sweat with dancing and worked my delicious tea off,superbly cooked and beautifully presented! Lovely staff.

Absolutely fantastic food. The place itself is pretty laid back with pool tables and a basic interior but the food was phenomenal. The mussel portions are huge, fresh and flavourful. Loved it so much we came back the next day!

Decent enough venue, views from upstairs were quality, though was getting dark by the time we got there. Wasn't too keen on their draft IPA, BrewDog would had been better

Friendly staff Joe the bar man was fantastic and fun. Great place to chill, relax and have fun. Darts boards, pool, music great location and amazing views. Lots to choose from to drink and eat with offers on to make it even more reasonable and value for money.

Such a shame. I read a bad review, thought they were being excessive. Upon arrival we paid a fee for a fun night, was told by our server she couldn’t take our order because the chef would quit.. and she would let me know when I can order. After an hour and half of waiting I went for a smoke … and saw her leaving (had to laugh). Great place, if you want no food. Cheers.

Great Hall for events and once in everything is on one level for mobility issues. Also why disabled seating is at front is beyond me? Instead it's at the back where people can't see the band only the heads of people dancing

Went for the Argyll Food Festival, loved every minute!

The seats are so narrow, my legs are still sore 5 days later where the arms dug into them. It was hot, stuffy, and just all-round uncomfortable.

Went to an event there last week. Fast bar service. Plenty of bathrooms, so no wait.

Staff friendly and location ideal for a show or concert.

Terrible hotel! There are no elevators, so we have to haul our heavy suitcases up and down the stairs ourselves. The bathroom is decent, and things looked good on pictures online, but the furniture looks like cheap classroom furniture. Room is tiny. The bed frame has big rough metal bolts that stick out and i scratched my legs on them multiple times, given the tight space next to the bed. No mini fridge in the room. TV didn't work. The pillows are very flat and have the ends of goose feather or something sticking out of them. Worst of all, there is a constant radio or TV or something on somewhere inside the hotel, all day and all night. It's not loud but enough to be a nuisance and kept waking us up throughout the night. There are no front desk folks at night, so we couldn't even get someone from the hotel to investigate. I had earplugs in but can still hear it. Don't stay here!

Booked the room last minute it was clean enough but basic with a view onto the back car park, the downstairs was really nice but there only seemed to be one guy working the hotel. Grudge paying over £100 for room only,breakfast was £12 extra

Room was ok for a short stay. Very hot and even sleeping with working fan was imposible. Our shower missing head shower and only we have a rainfall shower. In a two days was two times fire alarm without any reason. One of this was at 7.30am, and after few minutes waiting outside staff came and said only "sorry for that"! Never ever this hotel again!

A nice modern and clean hotel. Great location with off-street parking, recently renovated. I stay in Oban for work frequently and this is definitely the best mid-range hotel in town.

No elevator so made it tough carry all of my luggage down at 530 A.M. to catch the ferry. Upon arrival, the gentleman checking us in was incredibly helpful.

Very nice hotel near the town centre. Service provided by Eilidh in the bar after dinner was A1. She is a credit to the establishment.

Stayed in apartment but no one cleaned the space…during our stay. Otherwise well fitted with skylight as annex is old belonging to chapel!

Great choice at a great price.

Easy to access. The supermarket have a good variety of brands and products and it also have bakery section with good bread and delicious pastry. The staff is very professional and always helping. The products price is really good.

Great big shop. Let's face it it's a lidl we all love lidl! Only issue is that various people I've spoken to say it could do with a bench or two outside to let older folk and disabled to sit down while awaiting pick up.

Was up in oban on holiday and seen the Lavarno garden furniture set for sale. My problem was I couldn't fit it in my motorhome. Mathew the store manager couldn't have been more helpful. Coming up with a great idea to unpack set so would fit in. Fantastic service and highly recommended. Thanks lidl and Mathew.

All the usual Lidl offerings. Store seemed to be dark and at 5.00 pm on a Monday there was only one staffed checkout open and long lines there and the self checkout stations. Usually Lidl opens extra checkouts quickly, but not here.

Good versatile shop staff very helpful

A typical Aldi, however the shelves were well stocked with plenty of selection. The staff members were polite and friendly. Pretty good prices but never as cheap as you're led to believe.

Every week when I shop at Aldi in Oban ,the check out assistant asks me to park my trolley to the left of the end of the counter, saying it makes it easier for us It's not easier for me as I prefer to stand on the left. Yesterday, when I refused to change places to the one preferred by the check out assistant, she proceeded to fling my groceries through at a speed faster than the usual hyper speed with the result that a number of items fell to the floor. I have two requests to make of the management at the Oban Aldi. Will you ask your check out assistant to run shopping through at a rate that allows a shopper on their own sufficient time to put items in the trolley without having to retrieve them from the floor first. And will you ensure that the same members of staff do not go into a sulk when a customer wishes to stand where it is more comfortable for them. Thank you

Discount store. Big plus is no self service checkouts. Excellent wine. UPDATE..Sadly self service checkouts have appeared but they seem to work better than their rivals.

Can only give this Aldi store 3 stars Staff are not as good as nearby Lidl or the other Aldi’s I visit, they are either making mistakes at the checkout or lacking in basic manners …… update Aug 2024…….great 5 star service from Ann Marie sorting out a refund most other staff members are now OK and engaging in conversation at the check out………Oct 2024 this is only a 3 star shop consistently fail to maintain good service …..today overcharged on an item that should have had 50% off……smiling friendly staff but please CHECK YOUR RECEIPT

Found everything we needed

Availability of stock good, staff helpful. Fresh fruit and vegetables usually look good. Often have some interesting offers in the central aisle. Sadly, central management have imposed self-service tills on this store; meaning that the customers are seen as unpaid workers; or worse, as workers who pay for the privilege. Avoid.

It's a lovely place. It takes around 10 minutes to walk to main street and the pier. Rooms are very clean, staff is very friendly and nice, beds are comfortable. There's a place where you can bring and eat your own food, hot water for a cup of tea, storages and fridges to store your food. There's also a very nice lounge. I think it's great for families and lone travellers as well.

One of the best hostels I've stayed in and am very well-travelled and have stayed in a lot. The location on the water is amazing and the staff so friendly. I also worked from the rooms downstairs. Would stay again and recommend to others.

Not the best hostel I've stayed but certainly one of the best in Scotland indeed with great location! Quite well equipped, always very friendly and helpful staff. There is room for improvement of the facilities but it's not so bad.

Oban youth hostel has to be the best I have ever stayed at. Many years ago, when I used to scuba dive in Oban, Oban seemed quite a derelict place, but now it has transformed and is mega popular with tourists. The youth hostel has a perfect location, you couldn’t fault it, and commanding views over Oban’s wonderful Bay, where the big Caledonian MacBrayne ferries sail to the islands. Lots of little ferries too, and you can sit at your room window or the really nice dining room and watch all this wonderful activity. Staff are very welcoming as soon as you arrive and help you as required. The rooms are really perfection and have comfortable beds, bedside cupboards and lamps, and really nice ensuite with shower and WC. The hostel is so convenient for Oban itself And in about 10 minutes you can find a huge variety of wonderful fish restaurants, gift and souvenir shops, takeaway restaurants, hotels and bars. They’re also so many boat trips to cater for everyone. Get yourself there, you will love it!

Fantastic hostel with friendly staff and good rooms. It's just a few minutes walk from the centre of town and has access to hiking trails

Honestly amazing £140 for three nights in January, en-suite private room, clean and massive! As well as a fully stocked kitchen which made cooking so much easier and cheaper. Honestly couldn't recommend a more fantastic hostel or trip. We had the best weather and enjoyed our day trips to Mull & Kererra! Scotland can still be fun even in peak winter!

This is a large Tesco with a cafe and a great selection of products with a fairly well stocked F&F clothing area. Good fresh fruit and vegetables, fresh flowers and along with all the normal groceries there is a good selection of stationary products. Easy to use (although most are card only) self-serving desks at exit with several aisles for staff assisted service, sadly only one member of staff on the tills on this visit, which forces people to use self-service, something I personally dont like, but use as a matter of course. Plenty of trolleys for use and a large carpark with a petrol station to top up, makes this a typical Tesco 'one-stop' for all your products however this Tesco was very clean and the staff I did speak to were polite and helpful so all thing's considered I recommend this superstore.

We stopped here on our way to Arran. After finding the Morrisons store at Fort William toilets filthy at opening time, the cafe tables covered in spills and rubbish from the day before. So we were relieved to find spotless loos and cafe at Tesco Oban. Staff were friendly and helpful, only downside was the ordering screen, not good with tech and like to see food on display to choose from. Food was nice and service quick 👍

Ordered breakfast and a lunch at 1.30 pm. Were served our tea and coffee straight away. The "hot" food came 40 minutes, YES, 40 minutes later. Spoke to "staff member" who said i should wait until food comes before ordering beverages. I asked where it stated this ?? Impossible to get in. Very confusing access road. Once in fancied some lunch but it was all automated. No counter staff in the cafe. Everything thing ordered from a touchscreen. Grrr. So stressed by this that I never got anything to eat. Not a great experience, will not be back .

Only 16 miles from the cottage - great shopping & with a club card savings abound. Busy when we visited but plenty of checkouts in service & so friendly cashiers too.

I never wish to do a supermarket down but my last visit really annoyed me. Nothing to do with the store as such we got what we wanted but checkout just was somthing i have not seen before nor do i wish to see again. The girl who served us was uninterested. Why? Because AS she served us she was far to busy texting on her phone just by the scanner. This happened all the way through. She would scan, type a bit of text, scan and type again. Totally unexceptable. If they want to do that fine when no customers are there but to do this in front of a customer as so poor. I have not seen this in any other tesco store and hope i never will again. If i do see it then a manager will be called.

Check-in, loading & unloading of vehicles (including embarkation & disembarkation of foot passengers) was quite efficient.

Easy today, despite ferry full according to the ticketing app. Get a ticket for your latest travel time and arrive early as you, if space permits -standby, can get on board 👍 Smaller ferry running at the moment circa 250 people.

Nice little ferry terminal! Easy to navigate and helpful staff. Fantastic seafood from the Green Shack out the front. Grab a plate of mussels or crab and eat sitting on the seawall. Watch out for gulls. Oban can be a beautiful place and this is a fine spot to sit and appreciate the bustle of the harbour.

Very easy to find and a large reception area. The staff are very helpful, patient and efficient. You are not kept waiting long if wanting to buy or change a ticket. There are good road signs directing vehicles to the check-in area. Best advice is to buy online in advance. Easy access on to all ferries and a nice little gift shop.

Easy boarding - drove in and directed quickly to the correct boarding lane. No issues loading cars onto ferry and, unlike some ferries, there was space either side of the car to get people in/out of the car Once onboard, pleasant service from the crew and a reasonable selection of food/drink to purchase to either eat in the restaurant or take up to the open deck

Nice clean spacious ferry terminal. Had our tickets from West Coach Tours and could go straight to waiting/boarding area at first floor. They have 2 gates with signboards indicating destination, just like an airport. When ferry is moored and everyone disembarked, passengers may board whilst cars/tru ks are being driven on board. When a walk-on passenger go to the left and one more floor up on the ferry to the observation room. The space with the biggest windows and seats arranged to look outside.

Beautiful views of the city. You have a 180° view and you'll can see not only the dock area but also the sea and some Isles.

- Some of the view is obstructed by bushes, but it’s a good “value for effort” viewpoint, i.e. it offers a pretty decent view for the amount of effort you need to put in climbing there. - It’s pretty close to central Oban (10-15min walk). - The view is different to that seen from McCaig tower. - It’s at a public park so it’s free to enter. - Not too many other people there at the time we visited.

Steep walk but nice and quiet with beautiful views. Google Maps showed a trail up the mountainside but staying on the road was much more manageable. Or take the bus up.

Great views across Oban and the islands, and the walk up wasn't too bad at all - a wee bit steep but over quite quick!

This is quite a hike. This is not for the faint heart, even though some of the sign says moderate it is actually quite a steep climb, and some people may take this on that are not capable of it. We are well used to climbing, we found this Tough, not really a struggle, but definitely one that gets the heart pumping. However, it was very well worth it. The views from the top of very stunning. A 360 view in all directions definitely bring a camera, a really good place to come if you feel you can do a climb.

Good shop for food, has some great choices , prices vary from very reasonable to more expensive but quite a few of the lines you wouldn't find anywhere else, everything I have purchased seems great quality it's a store I use frequently

I shop here more than any shop in oban. Only downsides from my point of view are.. I usually use cash to shop with and one of the machines always goes into not taking any more cash. Lack of mens clothing in this food halls. M+s pls look into these things. Thanks

A true gem of a whisky store with a great selection of independent bottles including some quite rare ones. Very knowledgeable and terribly nice owner and a greater selection of Oban bottles than the destillery next door.

An excellent place to find extraordinary single malts AND well humidified Cuban cigars. I was fortunate to find such a treasure while I was on vacation. When I return to Scotland I am definitely revisiting this location !

We are wannabe whisky drinkers who are struggling to find a starter tipple. The gentleman kindly walked us through a selection of "gentler" whiskies so that we could accustom ourselves to the taste. We ended up buying an Arran 12 year that came from a Sauternes barrel. We enjoyed our experience in the shop and we're excited to try our purchase after we return from our mini-break to the Inner Hebrides.

Excellent shop with a wide selection of whiskies, including rare and hard-to-find bottles. The range is impressive, prices are fair, and they sometimes host tastings in the store. A must-visit for whisky lovers.

I went here with my wife to buy a bottle of whisky. The shop assistant (or maybe the owner, I’m not sure) was absolutely rude. We asked if he had a specific whisky, and he just said “no.” We made another request, and again the answer was “no.” He didn’t suggest or show us any similar products. When we left, he didn’t even say goodbye. We ended up buying the whisky somewhere else.

Highly recommended whisky shop! The man who assisted us was really knowledgeable, helpful and courteous - thank you! The shop itself is traditionally and tastefully decorated with a delightful atmosphere (there was a fire in the fireplace!) and an excellent selection of different whiskies and other spirits. The shop is also dog friendly which we very much appreciated as we were visiting Oban on holiday with our three Shetland Sheepdogs (Shelties) who were also made to feel really welcome (please see the photo!) Thank you and we'll certainly visit again the next time we're in Oban.

I visited this store in the end of June while on Holiday with my family. Both Mr. Euan and Mr. Lewis were great at helping my mother and myself in picking out whiskys. Unfortunately, Capital One froze both of my cards when trying to make a purchase at the store (buying several whiskys at once is somehow frowned upon). Both gentlemen were of a great help in how to order everything online and how to proceed from my current predicament. A very cozy atmosphere with great staff. Highly recommend anyone to stop by.

It is a family owned store which is over 100 years . All the seafood are very fresh with reasonable price. Carol is a very professional boss here. I was there for day trip, need to back to Glasgow in the same day. She provided a box with ice to keep the seafood which I purchased fresh. Definitely would recommend everyone to visit the store!!

Ordered Salmon fillets for our party of 14, from D Watt, for last Saturday, which was our first night together near Oban. They were easy to find and had the fillets ready quickly. The fillets cooked beautifully in individual foil parcels and everyone said how nice they were. D Watt is highly recommended by me.

In my opinion the best supplier of fish in Oban, always has plenty of choice to fresh and smoked fish , loads of variety, all at competitive prices, I've always enjoyed everything I have had from here especially the somkies, (my favourite) and the fish and shellfish are delicious and fresh.

I ordered two live crabs to pick up today. They were very lively crabs indeed and super tasty. Cooked it with fresh ginger and spring onion. My husband and I polished the lot. Thank you for tonight’s dinner, we thoroughly enjoyed it.

Great stocks and reasonable price. I have been struggling to find a pair of ideal wetsuit boot at the right size(5) for me for a long time but they have it in stock. I was also looking for a whitewater kayak since it's a listed Dagger dealer but the staff said they only sell sea kayaks. The staff was unsmiling and definitely had an attitude. but they were helpful despite me looking for the other type of boat, and helped me find the idea boot later. Overall a great shop, I would appreciate a more friendly customer service but will still recommend the place regardless.

Bought my first wetsuit and other things needed to help my next adventure here. The gentleman who served me was brilliant, offered just the advice that I required😊 Having now used the items purchased I can say TY to him . They worked perfectly 🧜

I went in on the of chance to check out waterproof hiking shoes. Finding any shoes/boots that are comfortable is a challenge for me, but with some great help from Megan I managed to find a pair that suited me. Awesome 👍

Great shop. First staff member encountered needs to go on a customer service course. Instantly put of by his attitude and that made my decision not to buy anything really easy. Sad as we had been told it was a great shop to get some decent gear.

No nonsense outdoor gear shop. Limited selection but they know the kit they've got, and were efficient and helpful when I popped in to find a last-minute replacement wetsuit. They can't compete with internet wetsuit orders for price, but equally, Internet outlets can't compete with the convenience and speed of a high street store like this - I was in and out, having tried and purchased a suit, within 10 minutes. Bonus: the wetsuit isn't half bad!

I would like to give a big shout out to these amazingly helpful staff in this shop for helping us find the best option for our kayak. Both Dave and Charlotte were extremely friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend them if anyone is going for a holiday in Oban and needs outdoor kit.

Visited here recently with my son, he’d been ripped off elsewhere for gifts but here was a shop with so much on offer and at decent prices too. It’s only overpriced if you don’t want to spend money!

Typical tourist trap shop, but has everything you need souvenir wise. Some of the other local shops didn't have many Oban items, just things from Scotland in general. I'm sure there is cheaper around, but it worked for us.

We popped into Chalmers yesterday whilst in Oban as it was quite cold and we thought we needed some scarves they had the most beautiful scarves we've ever seen We spoke with Helen in the store she was the manager she was so nice she was so helpful professional and sweet We couldn't believe it everything in the store was top-notch if you're in Oban pop into Chalmers you'll find the most beautiful woolens ask for Helen she's terrific Thank you so much Helen

Large shop, looks impressive from the outside. Decent variety of souvenirs and goods, some of the items are overpriced and aimed at tourists paying over the odds but happens in most places I guess. Staff were ok, not particularly friendly, minimal interaction.

The classic tourist trap... Ticky-Tacky Walkers cookies and fudges, cheap sweatshop-made tartans and 'Harris' Tweeds stuff, extremely overpriced whiskies and miniatures. Go somewhere else for your Souvenirs from Scotland.

Visited 4 shops in Oban today. In 3 we were greeted with a smile and a welcome. I spent over £100 in Chambers and the staff couldn’t even smile or make eye contact at the check out. We had been left on our own to find the brogues and try them for size, without any help, and with only a handful of other customers. As a local this is particularly galling as it doesn’t sell Oban, especially in a tourist orientated shop. I wonder if the attitude is down to disinterested management not providing proper training and inadequate pay, although it could just be rude and bored staff.

Arrived in Oban last weekend for a Wedding to realise I'd forgotten my Brogues. Ladies in store did everything and more to help me get a pair that day. Amazingly kind, couldn't have been more happy with their service.

Angel of an owner(?) really made my day. Beautiful selection of kitchenware on top of that, I know I'll be back when I'm in the area again.

The shop keepers are lovely! This is the perfect place to get something you need, something you want, and something you didn’t know you needed. Highly recommend!

We visited the shop and came out with a land rover and also a house planter and toy. They really are so helpful. It was all wrapped up well and so friendly staff. The shop is on two levels and has almost anything w You might need.

We purchased an air-fryer whilst on holiday,the statesman air fryer is one of the best purchases ever! We haven't put our oven on since returning from holiday,the machine is so fast and easy to use,I would recommend too anyone

Horrendous customer service, walked into this shop without any greeting or acknowledgement. Very rude individual behind the desk, even on walking out there was no interaction from this man. Prices far too expensive and lack of choice. Wouldn’t even give this shop one star!!!!!

First class butchers, top quality meat, delightful staff. We ordered 8 days worth to cover a special sailing trip. Every cut was superb quality and lasted really well. They even took time to protect the bones before vacuum packing the chops to avoid puncturing. What a kind touch. Thank you Jackson’s, you helped make our trip truly memorable. See you next year!

We bought some fillet steaks last week and they were the best I have ever tasted. Melt in the mouth , tasty, soft and succulent. One of us is returning to Oban this week and will purchasing some more!

An excellent family butchers with good quality meat etc. Also, the service given is first class - not many shops of this quality left therefore, essential for the wider public to give it's custom so not to lose such great businesses to our towns and villages.

When you ask a butcher if he manufactures the black pudding he sells and he says that he does, it's a pretty bad show when you get home and get the stick out of the bag and not only find that it is made by a Glasgow company, but that half the label has been (presumably accidentally) rubbed off. It was quite a good black pudding. But unless Jackson Bros have started manufacturing for a large Glasgow butcher, it wasn't produced in Oban!

Square sausage for freezer once I get back home. Always stop to buy a few bits . Haggis / black pudding. Brilliant

I was so happy to find this unique shop full of local crafts. The sales lady was so kind and helped me pick out a gift for my mom. I’ve decided on a very unique trivet/ hot pad made by a woman who works on the ferry. She loved it!

It's like a small gallery in here. I was so enthralled by all the artworks that I somehow missed the opportunity to take a picture of the store—or anything in it! Joy, the cashier of the day, was so lovely to talk to, and the socks she had made and put up for sale were beautiful! I only wish we'd had the budget to buy something from every artist whose works were displayed. You'll find a good deal of variety here: from handmade socks and blankets (with such love put into the details that I've never seen before) to masterfully done original ink-on-map drawings to acrylic blocks displaying rather attractive local photography, and much more.

Lovely small craft shop opposite railway station on South pier in Oban.As I was told, more then 30 crafters offering their creation here. From photography, jewelry, paintings, cards, knitwear, woodcraft, candles, cushions and so one. Something for every taste and every pocket. They are nice, friendly people with hearts in right place. Go there and you will see. Those photographs are so vibrant and the creator, Sheila is right there, smiling. So all the best!

Wonderful experience walking round this lovely shop browsing through all things art and craft. Beautiful quality gifts and everything reasonably priced. Plus you get to walk about with your well behaved furbaby. Sheila is was a joy to meet you and I'll be back next time I'm on the mainland x

I experienced thee most unpleasant man working behind the desk today at Oban train station. I love Oban and everyone I've met there except for this Unprofessional, rude and argumentative member of staff I had the displeasure of having to encounter today. He was abrupt in his manner, most unpleasant, unwelcoming, most definitely not friendly, miserable, difficult to talk to and unhelpful. He has no people skills whatsoever and needs some lessions in communication and customer service. Think his name is Tony possibly, having read other such negative reviews about this member of staff online. I do not know how he has a job and if he has not had a recent Appraisal of his work, he needs one. He gives Oban a bad name. I feel sorry for anyone that has to encounter him and if this was to be the first person a visitor spoke to coming off a train it would be a very unpleasant start to their visit. No vending machines to buy drinks and snacks for the journey to Glasgow which is 3.5hrs long. Bathrooms always put of service and have a barrier up.

No customer service at the station. Ticket office mostly closed. Toilets locked. No baggage storage. No help to find the correct carriage.

A nice little station. The area around it is a bit tatty and needs a clean up. Great service from the staff. The Ducks are well knows to Oban locals. They feed in the harbour by day and shelter in the station area by night.

Never mind the bad reviews, the staff was great with me to today im going through a manic episode due to my mental illness but they was great with me, helped me on the train, made me more relaxed from everything I’m going through; I take this route a lot from Helensburgh to Oban because I’ve got family and friends, but yeah overall it’s good
