Fun & Games
Playgrounds
Chislehurst Recreation Ground is a charming park in the town, offering a delightful play area for children with swings, slides, and even a zip slide. The park also features an obstacle trail and is conveniently located near the High Street. Additionally, visitors can take a stroll through Walden Woods to discover bear sculptures inspired by Michael Rosen's 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt.'
Fun place for fireworks every year. During day it is fun to explore with kids and the dog. Woods are great and playground is full of things to entertain my two. Cafe nice.
Philip W — Google review
If you have children there is a lively play area. There is also a huge field where football clubs for children happen on certain days. Other days it is a clear field for dogs to free play and run around
Myro — Google review
While the better half was in the dentist, I had the opportunity to walk the dog around the rec which was really peaceful even though there were plenty of people there and children playing on the swings with a couple of keep fit groups doing what they do. When my wife joined me with all her teeth in tact, we had a very good coffee and sausage roll at the Rec's community cafe. Well worth a visit.
Colin H — Google review
Love a jog, stroll, picnic or chill here. They have a tennis club you can join. A play-park for the kids. Table tennis tables, a cafe and lots n lots of green space. Oh and there's a mini forest which you can walk through to the other side of the park with more greenery. Lots of friendly dog walkers too.
Marissa D — Google review
A trip down memory lane for my wife and I. My wife in particular for here a sentimental place - Chislehurst Recreation ground, garden and park - where she spent time in her younger days in this park, as too her time served in her primary school 'REDHILL' adjacent bordering the park. In view of the park to the north is the tower of the 'ANNUNCIATION CHURCH in Chislehurst High Street. It is at this church we married circa. October 1980 (now 42 years ago!). Happy days, happy memories for this our own little 'Holy grail' we cherish ❤ forever. Personal history aside...this wonderful green space area is one (or only..?) park in the Chislehurst domain. Popular with families, children (noticed a play area and amenities within the park), and an ideal location with general hikers, fitness and health pursuers, and sporting enthusiasts - tennis and football ⚽️ ( home ground to F.C.ELMSTEAD). Popular too with dog walkers, a good footpath circulates the park all within open view. A hikers and nature trail on the ' GREEN CHAIN WALK' which follows through the adjoining woodland. The woodland a habitat and home for some interesting wildlife and hosting a significant number of species both flora and fauna. In fact, the park's notice boards by the main entrance in Empress Way document and display one rare nationally iconic species of insect that thrive here in July, the STAG BEETLE 🐞. Plenty of comfortable seating along the footpath, offering some pleasant views of the church tower of 'THE ANNUNCIATION ' in the north and the spire of Chislehurst Methodist Church can be seen peering between the trees on Chislehurst Common to the east. The park entrance has a disabled entrance, the only toilet we came across is in 'THE ROOST' coffee shop at the centre of the park. Parking is at a premium in Empress Drive, a quiet private residential road. Empress Drive is reached via Willow Grove, off Chislehurst High Street. However, bus stops daytime service in the High Street Nos 61, 160, 161, 162, 273, and R7 are approximately 10 mins walking distance away from the park. Finally, well done 👏 to the brilliant Council Workers/groundsman (London Borough of Bromley I assume...?) we met in entering the park... ALEX, WILL, EAAN ( Euan forgive me Sir if I've misspelt your name?). Enjoyed our hearty, cheerful but very brief interesting chat. My praise goes to you all and your fellow workers in all the Greater London boroughs for doing such a fantastic job in the preservation and upkeep of Chislehurst Recreation Ground and the likes of every green space in and around the Capital for the public to enjoy. I salute you gentleman, keep up the great work...👍👏 Well folks, if you are in Chislehurst and have a spare moment, time to relax and unwind then a visit here any time of year good. A good place to combine in a day itinerary of Chislehurst. Chris.

Today my husband and l went to visit Recreation ground the back of Chislehurst Library. Hasn't chanced much since my last visit about 35 years ago. Although it has a new play park for the kids and a new cafe with toilets. The woods at the back goes up to the fields the back of Victoria Road. You can still see Redhill School from the woods, where l went to school 57 years ago. It's a lovely park thats why l give it 5 stars⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Rock climbing gym
Rhino Boulder is a fantastic climbing destination that offers a spacious environment perfect for both seasoned climbers and newcomers alike. With an impressive variety of wall profiles, particularly overhangs, the setting caters to all skill levels. The unique grading system encourages climbers to explore different hold types, making each visit exciting. While currently stocked with Scarpa shoes in the shop and lacking training boards, there are plans for a spray wall soon.
I'm going to rhino boulder almost every day, it's my favourite place in Bromley! They have unlimited treats and everyone pets me. I had the best birthday party ever over there too!
Hook — Google review
Fantastic gym, nice people, great Ethical drinks they sell and resources for working at home booths. Which were installed recently. The only issue is early opening hours on weekends and it is quite pricey for a membership in the long run. Including hire of shoes and chalk.
Jay — Google review
Absolutely fantastic place. As an absolute newbie, I came to do there in intro session to see if this was something that I would enjoy. I had such a fun time, the staff was so supportive and I really felt like I was able to learn in a nonjudgemental environment. It didn’t matter that I wasn’t able to do everything, but I was able to give stuff a try and that was so helpful. I absolutely recommend this place, truly such a great community has formed and I only wish I’d found it sooner.
Suzi W — Google review
Easily one of the best gyms in London in my opinion. So much effort is put into the route setting and it really shows, and the holds are not slathered in grease and chalk like some other gyms. The community is welcoming and the staff are fantastic. The coffee is also *chefs kiss*
Daniel P — Google review
Spacious climbing area, lots of open space on the mats for chilling. Setting was great, lots of variety of wall profiles- mainly overhang. The grading system is unique but makes use of all the different hold types 👌👌 Shop area is stocked with only Scarpa shoes atm. No training boards but apparently will have a spray wall in the future. Gym area to open this month too. Cafe is cozy, but doesn't sell any recovery drinks or sports drinks. Defo will come back, worth a visit.
Florence B — Google review
As someone who had never tried bouldering before and found the prospect so daunting, I was surprised at how comfortable the team at Rhino made me feel. By the end of my first session I was climbing with confidence! Highly recommend. Centre is clean, spacious and the staff are excellent.
Kirsty W — Google review
Not a bad gym considering the space available but there are other walls that have more variety. A lot of overhangs and quite a rapid increase in difficulty. I wouldn't recommend for newbies, good for strong climbers looking for overhangs and more awkward routes. Limited quantity of locker space but are free, bring a padlock
Claire — Google review
Low rating due to kids pricing. They charge an 8 year old the same price for entry and show hire as a 17 year old or a full time student in their early 20s. This really is too much and isn't going to encourage parents to get young kids into climbing. The Arch is well under half the cost to take a young kid bouldering.

Laser tag center
At Laser Quest & VR Centre Bromley, adventure awaits as you immerse yourself in an exhilarating sci-fi laser tag experience. The venue offers a thrilling arena where you can engage in action-packed battles with friends and family. Beyond the laser tag excitement, the centre features state-of-the-art virtual reality experiences that transport you to new worlds, ensuring a memorable outing for everyone involved.
25th birthday! Went for a birthday party with my uni friendship group and we had SO MUCH FUN! Tom and Clara were there with us today and they were incredibly welcoming, answering all our questions and ensuring that we had the best time we possibly could have. My friends and I loved the laser tag maze. It was a bit small for us but we understand that it is mainly designed for kids so this wasn't an issue. If anything, having a smaller maze meant more blood shed on the teams game 😜 The pizzas were pretty good and we were fueled by squash and slushies (we got the Party package). Honestly, I felt like I was 6 again. The venue was super well organised and clean and it was wonderful to have it for ourselves. Also, some of us really loved the VR experience! Would definitely come back, this is a true treasure hidden in Bromley. Thanks again Tom and Clara for the hospitality and for making this birthday so much fun! 🎂
Ana F — Google review
Today, myself and my children visited Lazer Quest Bromley. The venue is easy to find, we park on a side road. We were greated by the manager who was friendly and inviting. The venue was busy but not overly. We played two games of lazer quest, the maze is a good size and the equipment is well maintained. Two staff members were present at all times to supervise. Overall we had a good time and I would recommend visiting.
Trusted R — Google review
We had my son’s birthday party at Laser Quest Bromley and it was fantastic! The team made everything run smoothly and stress-free. The staff are really helpful throughout. The games were exciting and the kids had an amazing time – my son hasn’t stopped talking about it! A huge thank you to the whole team. Would highly recommend Laser Quest Bromley for anyone looking to throw a fun party.
S A — Google review
My son had his 7th birthday party at Laser Quest and it was brilliant. Kids had a great time, food was great and the VR experience (included in the party package) was a big hit. Staff were friendly and helped make the birthday party a success. Highly recommend!
Roxanne N — Google review
We visited Laser Quest Bromley today with three Year 6 classes (nearly 90 children) and had a blast! The children (and competitive adults) thoroughly enjoyed the two games they played - first a solo game and then a team game. It was a nice touch to witness live scores and gameplay on the screens while we waited for our turns. Tom, Leah, Leo, Dan and Robin were great with the children - really clear and enthusiastic instructions, and incredibly patient with quite a loud and passionate cohort! Plenty of seating space for the children to eat their lunch, and was treated to complimentary juice too. Thank you for making our experience a great one! Hopefully see you again soon.
MrCFCmike — Google review
My son had his 10th birthday party at Laser Quest Bromley and I could not recommend the venue and team high enough. 10 stars instead of five for making his day so great! Thank you to all the team members below for being so great: Olivia Ruby Harrison Bobbi Clara Sophie Ellie Dom
Toby M — Google review
My son had his party here today and it was a smash hit with all of the guests and my son. The staff were helpful, the briefings were useful and helped put nervous children at ease. The food portions could be a little bigger especially for the amount of money you pay. After the 2 games of laser tag the children all enjoyed the VR experience, the only downside is the limited car parking at the venue. Aside from that we would recommend this venue to others and will be back again for some more fun.
Simon N — Google review
My daughter celebrated her birthday with her friends in Laser Quest and they had an amazing time! The laser tag was fun and the VR experience was a whole new adventure. The pizza served was good too. I totally recommend for kids party

Children's club
Blooming Bubs, owned and run by Satu, offers a welcoming environment for parents and their newborns to toddlers. The center provides non-judgmental parenting support, workshops, and age-appropriate classes. Participants have praised the baby massage and sing, stretch, and sensory courses for being enjoyable and relaxed. These classes not only provide valuable skills but also create opportunities for parents to connect with each other.
Satu's baby massage was good fun. It's a great way of bonding with your baby and I have applied lots of what she taught me to our bedtime routine. Satu is very engaging and was able to provide a warm and friendly environment in which you can get to know other parents. Every week built upon previous skills and had a different theme. We loved getting dressed up!
Andrew M — Google review
We really enjoyed Baby Massage & three terms of Baby Sensory (Sing, Stretch & Sensory) with Satu. It’s a warm, friendly environment & allowed us to learn some new songs/activities to keep up at home. The way Satu sets the class up creates great opportunities to get to know the other mums, and we’ve been lucky enough to make a wonderful group of friends! Thank you Satu!
Stephanie D — Google review
I’ve really enjoyed my weekly baby class at Blooming Bubs. It’s been amazing watching my son develop each week, interacting more and more with the songs, exercises and cute props ❤️ The class is very relaxed and fun, and in a lovely setting. We highly recommend! Thanks Satu!
Katie H — Google review
I have done both baby massage and sing, stretch and sensory with Satu. We loved both courses and have booked on to do sing, stretch and sensory again for another term! Her courses are really good fun and super relaxed! It doesn’t matter if your baby cries/feeds/needs changing etc and Satu starts a WhatsApp group so we can all get to know each other. We’ve gone on to do loads with the group of mums that we met at baby massage. Would really recommend!
Alice K — Google review
We signed up for one term of baby sensory and in honesty, were quite disappointed with the classes. I found them to be quite chaotic, so much so we chose to not attend the final two. On several occasions Satu forgot the words to the songs she had chosen for the class or the music didn’t work. The toys appeared quite worn and a few times were broken. We do another class locally which we preferred and enjoyed the structure. Satu also seemed to get quite frustrated that people would sometimes arrive a few minutes late. Fully appreciate it’s hard running downstairs to open the door again and can detract from others experience of the class - it might be better to put in the welcome email that latecomers won’t have entry versus airing frustrations about it each week to the other parents in the room. It’s hard getting to places on time in with a new baby in tow.
Selen M — Google review
We started classes with Satu since my baby was five weeks old. As a first-time mum, baby massage helped me bond with my new baby. We then did five terms of Little Buds! Watching my little one grow, learn and become more excited and engaged every term has been a highlight of my maternity leave. Satu’s classes are so much fun and we will miss them.
Victoria M — Google review
Baby massage was the very first class I ventured to as a new mum with a little baby and I’m so glad I did. Satu is brilliant, I met a wonderful group of mums on the same journey and learnt a new skill. Satu creates a really welcoming, calm environment that the babies love. And the mums have a great time too.
Hannah M — Google review
We loved Blooming Bubs, Satu is brilliant, a small, relaxed, friendly class each week. We started from baby massage up to baby sensory. My daughter has loved every session! Sad to leave, no doubt i will be back with the next one! 😀

Chislehurst Tennis Club has a rich history, originating from local players' efforts to preserve the council-run courts. The club boasts dedicated members, including one of its founders who now serves as Chairman and actively participates in league teams. Although lacking court lights, the club offers excellent pricing for junior members and underwent recent renovations. While it may not have changing rooms or a kiosk, the atmosphere is highly praised by its happy members. Additionally, the club features great coaches and courts despite parking challenges.
Very welcoming and great courts (no court lights though.) Very good pricing for junior members.

Chislehurst Rocks Music Festival is a fantastic free event that takes place annually in September. It features two stages with diverse musical acts, as well as rides, workshops, refreshments, and a fun fair for all ages to enjoy. The festival offers a unique experience with the inclusion of animals on site. Past performances have included bands like Neon District and The 286. This London-based festival provides an opportunity for families to come together and enjoy a day filled with music and entertainment in the sunshine.
Absolutely fantastic, we’ll done everyone involved and everyone I met there were lovely as well and fantastic bands, brilliant day xx
Les L — Google review
Some friends of mine ran a food stall there, having been promised a crowd of 12,000. In reality, they were lucky to serve 50 people. I spoke to other vendors, and they all reported the same dismal turnout. It cost them hundreds, even thousands, of pounds on stand fees, travel from across the country, and wasted stock. The event was a total disaster—completely disorganized and poorly managed. Enders be aware!
Carmen C — Google review
Annual music festival held in July. Free entry, live performances, amusement rides, food stalls.
Jamie P — Google review
Decent day with good bands. Sadly my wife had her bag stolen by some low life which spoiled things a bit. She left it in the somewhat over subscribed porta loos for a short period and the low life took it and decided to keep it. Handing it in would have been the right thing to do but the low life kept it. How sad. Never mind the curse placed on the bag has passed to the thief who will now never get a completely good day until it is returned to its rightful owner.

Tutoring service
If you're on the lookout for a nurturing and effective learning environment, Bella Learning is definitely worth considering. Founded by former local teacher Annabel, this educational haven offers tailored consultations and group tuition focused on the 11 plus exams as well as general primary school subjects. Most sessions take place at The Old Chapel in Chislehurst, with additional online classes available to accommodate various needs.
Our daughter has really enjoyed the 11+ tutoring group, and particularly liked that it was in person rather than online. Annabel provides a very positive and fun environment for the children. The progress over the past 6 months has been amazing, and our daughter recently passed two 11+ exams giving us a range of grammar schools to chose from.
Emma P — Google review
Annabel has worked with both my children and both times it has been fantastic. Our daughter recently did her 11 plus exams following being part of Annabel’s tutor group for the year or so beforehand. She smashed both tests and I put a lot of that down to the great tutoring and Annabel ensuring it was a fun environment to learn in. For our son (who is now 13) Annabel tutored him to help with his confidence in the last few years of primary school. He has thrived in senior school and the confidence he learnt has meant he is excelling both academically and socially. Both my children still love seeing Annabel at events which shows how much they enjoyed her sessions.
Caroline G — Google review
Annabel has tutored both of my children, and whilst the first one was about 6 years ago, the other is one of her current tutees! Annabel is honest, reliable and incredibly professional and both of mine loved/love going to her lessons. Annabel is totally trustworthy and as a parent, it is good to just know that your child is in very capable hands. Worth noting also, Annabel understands and embraces difference in the form of SEND and that is so refreshing. I recommend Annabel to any other parent looking for high quality tuition along with peace of mind that you are getting what you are paying for.
Jodene P — Google review
Annabel has tutored both my children who have differing needs. She is highly experienced and really brings out the best in children in a nurturing way. Whether you are looking for 11plus tutoring or help to support their in school learning I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Bella Learning.
Kerstin R — Google review
Annabelle works with both of our girls - our eldest studied with her for some post-covid catch up and the 11+ - and passed comfortably for her preferred school, with as little stress as we could hope for. Our youngest has a great time in her weekly group session which isn’t 11+ focussed. She enjoys the games and making her friends - and her maths skills and frustration tolerance have improved as a result!
Melissa P — Google review
Annabel helped my ten year old son with the entrance exam to King Edwards School in Southampton. She came to the first session having researched the school and with a clear idea of what the assessments involved and over two sessions checked that he was ready for them. We were thrilled to hear that he not only got in but secured an academic scholarship. Thank you Annabel.

The Bromley Library of Things is a fantastic resource for anyone looking to borrow items instead of buying them. Recently, I rented a Karcher washing vacuum cleaner to spruce up my new home's carpets, and the entire process was incredibly straightforward. Not only is it budget-friendly, but it also promotes sustainability by reducing waste and saving storage space at home. The seamless experience from reserving to returning items makes it an ideal choice for those facing financial challenges.
Borrowed the battery lawn mower and it was so good (and so cheap)! It save me a good £300 of gardening work.

I rented Karcher washing vacuum cleaner here to clean up my carpet after I moved to the new house. The renting process is extremely easy and I definitely do recommend this place. Nice local driving range with cafe and America located in the facility. Went to the driving range in a Sunday and there was a bit of a wait. Probably should have booked on line rather than out showing up. The queue moved pretty quick for this that weren’t fused about top tracer bays and electric tees. Not all bays have top tracer!

We enjoyed it! Called on the phone and staff was so helpful. It was then lovely to have same level of service when we arrived as it was our first time there, again really helpful. The kids were able to enjoy the driving range with the toptracer screen and electric tee which was fun. Reasonable price as well. We will definitely come back!

Not a very good driving range, the mats move as you swing which causes the ball to move. I complained to the drinks trolley guy and he wasnt interested, actually quite rude to be honest which upset me. Hes obviously more interested in his dream job at easyjet. This was on the 12.04.2025 at around 12 oclock.

Great fun, not too expensive and the food is pretty good too! Would recommend.

Our first time ever going to the driving range and Chloe was extremely helpful and welcoming. They advised what club would be best based on our experience levels and instructions of how to navigate the interactive board to find the games and how to use the automated ball dispenser. All staff were pleasant, they went above and beyond.

Affordable place with 100 balls cost £10. It had several ranges as well because of which we got enough time. Recommended

Last minute decision, a guy helped us get the hang of it. Very attentive, very funny, made us laugh, and was helpful! Would defo be back! Thanks :)
