Located in downtown Bangor, the Maine Discovery Museum is a three-level interactive educational space designed to inspire young minds through hands-on learning. The museum features exhibits on various topics including science, engineering, art, literature, and nature. Families can enjoy unique events and programs at this children's museum which offers activities such as digging for dinosaur bones, exploring 'Goodnight Moon,' singing in the Karaoke Studio, climbing a treehouse, peeking inside a beaver lodge and meeting live reptiles.
The Maine Discovery Museum is such a gem for families! It’s full of thoughtful, interactive rooms that invite kids to play, explore, and learn in really creative ways. Every space is designed with care, and there’s so much variety that children of all ages can find something to enjoy. I especially loved the Goodnight Moon-themed room, such a sweet and cozy space that brought the classic book to life. It’s clear the museum puts a lot of heart into making it a magical experience. Highly recommend for locals and visitors alike!

It was a wonderful experience! Although we discovered that our son was just a bit too short for some of the play areas, we made the most of it, and he had an amazing time. I highly recommend visiting during the fall or winter when the weather is cooler. WE will definitely go again when he a little bigger
Kaylie R — Google review
It was our first time here and we will definitely be back the next time we are up to visit family! We spent three hours here with our little one. Your admission is good for the entire day, until close, so you can leave and come back.
Stephanie T — Google review
This is a wonderful place. We only allotted ourselves about an hour and a 1/2, which honestly as many floors and exhibits as they have children can't really dive deep into play. So I would recommend packing a good lunch and some snacks and preparing yourselves to be there for a few hours. So they can really explore their imaginative play.

What a fun surprise it was to stumble upon this place with an almost 4 year old. I wasn't sure what to expect but the exhibits were so fun and well thought out - my daughter did NOT want to leave. Great job to the staff that maintains and runs everything - there is something for every kid.
Kathleen L — Google review
The Discovery Museum is a favorite for our kiddos and it's usually clean, well maintained, and the staff are pleasant. I do wish they'd occasionally add to or change up the exhibits. We've been going for years and it's been largely the same for the last several years. Given the amount of business it gets, and the repeat local visitors, it'd be nice to have some exhibits swapped out, or even have a special "exhibit of the month". That would draw in folks to visit again.
Ashley N — Google review
We love the children's museum. It has enough variety to keep children from various ages very happy! Everything is clean and tidy, and the staff is exceptional. It is a friendly, caring, and informative place to be.
Gwen S — Google review
Great place to take the grandkids. Enjoyed watching a very interesting discussion and showing of a snake a lizard like creature and a turtle. The kids got to touch each creature. There were three floors of hands on experiences. The center is not as big inside as it looks like from the outside. It was not real crowded which made it fun

Specialty Museums
The Cole Land Transportation Museum in Bangor, Maine is a captivating destination for enthusiasts of vintage vehicles and transportation history. Founded by Earl E. Cole in 1956, the museum's mission is to preserve and showcase a diverse array of land transportation equipment from Maine's past. Visitors can explore an extensive collection that includes antique cars, trucks, buses, motorcycles, military vehicles spanning from World War II to the Vietnam War era, as well as farm equipment and even bicycles.
Cole Land Transportation Museum – A Must-See Stop in Bangor! During a trip to Bangor earlier in 2025, I stopped at the Cole Land Transportation Museum—and it ended up being one of the best parts of the visit. I was welcomed right away by two fellow veterans volunteering at the front, and that connection alone made the experience more meaningful. I also received a handcrafted Maine maple walking stick—a thoughtful gift the museum gives to veterans as a way to honor their service and offer something lasting to take home. Inside, the museum holds an impressive collection of land transportation history—antique snowplows, fire trucks, tractors, military vehicles, and more. From restored Model Ts to equipment used in Maine’s logging and farming industries, everything is well displayed with clear signage and wide walkways to explore at your own pace. I also learned more about the museum’s background. It was founded by Galen Cole, a WWII veteran and trucking company owner, who wanted to preserve local transportation history while also honoring veterans and educating future generations. That mission really comes through as you walk through the exhibits—it’s more than just old equipment. The volunteers shared how committed the museum is to veteran outreach and education. They mentioned how the museum hosts school groups, military reunions, and community events that promote patriotism and civic responsibility. Outside, there’s a Vietnam-era Huey helicopter and an M60 tank surrounded by plaques and flags in a memorial area that’s both quiet and powerful. Admission was very reasonable, and the visit was absolutely worth it. Whether you’re into history, vehicles, or just looking for something different in the Bangor area, I highly recommend stopping here. I’d go back without hesitation.

Loved this museum. It was amazing to see all the parts of history. Thank you so much for all the time and collections you have put together for our enjoyment!!

This place is amazing has actual big rig trucks an old train that u can walk all through among many other amazing things. Price to enter isn’t bad either. Kids under a certain age get in for free.
Linda G — Google review
Small and mighty! Spent an hour and half looking at so much history that is mainly acquired and restored from local sources! Bonus scavenger hunts for all ages if you're into that. Well displayed and maintained.
Lindsey — Google review
This is an awsome little museum, with lots of stuff packed into the building. We stopped in while exploring the area and were pleasantly surprised. The staff was very friendly and eager to answer questions. The layout is great and easy to wonder around in
Ken D — Google review
Excellent exhibit. Our guide Jim was a added bonus. Great job glad we stopped
Charles M — Google review
This was an impromptu stop rather early in the morning, so I didn't visit the museum, but just getting to visit the outside things was worth the detour.
Stacey M — Google review
Amazing! I went for an event for my grandchildren and truly enjoyed every minute. It is so fascinating and I am not interested in vehicles at all. Just not my thing. The children had so much fun with the event and the scavenger hunt throughout the museum. They looked at everything there trying to find the pieces on the scavenger hunt pictures. The museum is AMAZING and I can't wait to go back.

The Bangor Historical Society is situated in the Thomas A. Hill House, a stunning 1836 Greek revival-style home that once belonged to Thomas A. Hill, a prominent figure in Bangor's history. The society curates an impressive collection of artifacts including antique clothing, books, and furniture.
Did the haunted ghost walked and absolutely loved it! Our tour guide was super knowledgeable and fun to listen too! He also had a great sense of humor when random people drove by and yelled out the window. Great activity for local and tourist alike! I learned a lot about Bangor that i never knew before.

I went for the Mt. Hope Cemetery tour this morning. It was a great way to learn about Bangor history and Ryan was incredibly knowledgable. And of course the cemetery Itself is such a pleasant place to walk. I highly recommend this tour. Thank you to the Bangor Historical Society and volunteers.

I had an incredibly lovely time on the historical ghost tour this evening. The guide was incredibly knowledgeable and he was a wonderful story teller. It was nice to learn about some major historical events in Bangor, and a handful of ones I had never heard about!

We had a lovely time visiting for the winter decorations. This years theme was the Nutcracker and the rooms were all well done. It was only $5 and you have access to the first floor which includes 4 rooms, hallway, and small gift shop/museum. You can also vote for your favorite room. I believe our host was Carol(might have the wrong name!) but she was informative and polite. Some cool local history!

My wife and I had a few hours in Bangor and wandered into the Bangor Historical Society on a whim. We got an amazing tour from a a volunteer, learned a lot and had a great time. There is a lot to see there - check it out. I planned to steal a 300 lb cannon on display but was foiled. I’ll be back for it later.

We had friends from out of state visit and did Mount hope walking tour. We were greeted by a mom and child. After we all paid and all the others arrived that were touring as well, we were informed that this child who had just finished six grade was guiding the tour because the mom said she was better at it. The child acted like a child throughout the fiasco tour reading from a paper, constantly tripping over all the words, saying she wasn't even going to try and say a lot of them, showing her mom the paper and her mom telling her how to say the words. She was leaning/sitting on the graves, we all could hardly make out most of what she was reading. It was the worst money ever spent. I work at a business where people are asking me daily what there is to do in this area and I had been recommending this all year because I walk there and love it. I even printed out the ad and it's hanging where all could see it. We never even was shone the memorial that was in the picture. Or any memorials there. Was told it was 90 minutes but lasted under an hour. It was agonizing to tough this out and we all couldn't wait for it to end. I would like a full refund and won't refer this anymore to anyone. UPDATE: THE GENTLEMAN THAT USUALLY GIVES THE TOUR SAID HE WAS UNABLE TO DO THE TOUR SO HAD THE ABOVE DO IT IN A PINCH. HE OFFERED TO REFUND US AS WELL AND GIVE US HIS TOUR. I'VE HEARD FROM OTHER THAT HE IS GREAT AS A YOUR GUIDE! THANK YOU

We did a mount hope tour Thursday August 24th and it was a training session for a sixth grade girl leading the tour with her mother in the background. If I could give a zero rating I would. We brought guests with us from our of state and paid the mother because she said she was the tour guide. Then after we all paid we started late and finished early, hardly saw anything and the daughter was attempting to read a print out. Unable to pronounce a lot of it. It was a huge rip off and we'd like our money back! We didn't pay for a bring your daughter to work day training session for a sixth grader.

Mount Hope Cemetery Corp. & Crematory in Bangor, Maine is the second oldest garden cemetery in the United States, designed by architect Charles G. Bryant in 1834. The cemetery spans over 250 acres and offers a serene atmosphere for reflection and exploration of Maine's history through its well-maintained paths and historic monuments. Visitors can join guided tours to learn about the town's history or simply take a leisurely stroll around the beautiful grounds.
Immaculately kept, huge amount of history. Such a peaceful place to visit. Being keen horror watchers, the Stephen King aspect was also of interest to us. This was not frowned upon at all by the staff. They even supplied us with a map pointing to the points of interest on the subject. If you are near here, it is a great place to take some time out and learn a lot.
Nick D — Google review
Beautiful cemetery. Well keep. Nice place to drive through and stop for a little tour.
Teresa M — Google review
This is a must see destination for any fan of Stephen King! The cemetery is well maintained, large and very beautiful. The groundskeepers were friendly and not at all phased by a couple of movie/literature nerds roaming the grounds! Just make sure you are being respectful! The hunt for the famous markers that lead to inspiration for the novels “Carrie” and “It” were fun to explore the grounds for! Seeking spots where parts of Pet Sematary were filmed was even more fun! We paid our due respects to the residents and left with some neat photos. Highly recommend this stop for fans! Please, please, just be mindful and respectful.
Krystle P — Google review
An insane amount of history here. If you love walking around cemeteries, just know that this one is huge. I was there a couple hours on a hot day and only scratched the surface before my water was gone. It is clearly cared for, albeit dry like the rest of the area. I stayed in what I believe are the oldest sections. Some of the headstones are like works of art. So many stories here dating back well over 100 years.
Lisa W — Google review
We searched for a lovely, scenic, quiet and historic special spot for our child to rest in peace. We discovered Mt Hope. We decided upon the Scattering Garden Memorial area. Emily and Steve, superintendents, made us welcome in the lodge with an appointment. We were able to pick a garden spot, were assisted with placing our cremains and the Bronze plaque on Memorial Wall is well done. The option was perfect for our family; dignified special, lovely and affordable. Thank you Mt Hope, Emily and Steve. Mt Hope, a historic American garden cemetary is also a peaceful spot to walk or jog on a summer evening with many paths and hills.
JKC M — Google review
Really a beautiful cemetery in its own right - the older section has beautiful monuments and hills and stairs - definitely much more interesting than your average cemetery. If you're a Stephen King fan, you can see where he took some of his names from grave stones, and even places where they shot some of the adaptations that King was in. It's confusing to drive around, but just keep going and you'll find interesting stuff. It'd be a great place to walk if you live here. (Make sure to book sktours for an explanation of the King tie-ins.)
Sara W — Google review
I am not one to venture to cemeteries for fun, but this one was an exception and I am glad I went. This is a very beautiful cemetery and on a pleasant fall day it was very relaxing in the middle of the pandemic. There are some fascinating headstones combined with the tie to the King novel, it just all came together.
Perks A — Google review
The gates that I went to were closed on weekends. This is the gates next to the Koren War memoral and civel war memoral.. this cemetery is the second oldest in the United States after the one in Boston, Ma that it was patterned after. It's called that because of the landscaping with ponds, shrubs and spacing of the graves.

Shopping mall
Shopping
Bangor Mall is a serene shopping destination featuring a variety of stores, including department stores, popular retail chains, and quick-service eateries. It's the go-to place in the city for picking up souvenirs or updating your wardrobe with top name brands and unique boutiques. From clothing and accessories to sporting goods and jewelry, the mall offers a diverse range of products. You can find well-known brands like Hollister, Victoria's Secret, JC Penney's Sephora, and more.
This mall has three galleries or wings. There are a lot of vacant store fronts, but one wing of the mall is more deserted than the other two. JC Penney, Dick's Sporting Goods, and a furniture/mattress store are the anchor stores. A few mall staples are surviving here: Spencer's, Bath & Body Works, Claire's, Hot Topic. There are some local businesses as well and, interestingly, a couple of local theater groups occupy space here. There are no restaurants in the mall, but there are some nearby. Unfortunately, the campus isn't pedestrian friendly, the pavements are in bad shape, and you can't easily walk from the mall to any of the nearby businesses. The exterior of the mall could use some maintenance. It doesn't appear well kept, unfortunately, and that must make it difficult to attract new businesses.
N. G — Google review
Dying mall that should be put out of it’s misery. 70% vacant, unmaintained interior and parking lot in shambles. If they cared theyd consolodate the remaining stores into 1 wing and close the remaining 2 wings. At least it would be a solid set up that way. Instead you have long stretches that look post apocalyptic. The place doesnt even have music playing over the PA system. Ceiling tiles missing and stained, leaking roof. Thanks a lot Amazon. What a waste. What tenant would ever rationalize renting space in this crap hole? Place is a dump. I feel bad for the people who have to go to work here. How discouraging. And only 1 public bathroom area that is bombed out & filthy. I cant believe teens havent broken into the place at night and torched it yet. This place is that bad.
Joel B — Google review
The pictures I took don’t do it justice how bad it is. I went in the entrance by the old Ruby Tuesdays and there were rats or mice jumping on the entrance and in the grass. Looks like someone hasn’t cleaned the floors in weeks if not longer. There was virtually no landscaping or any attempt to make it look better. The men’s bathroom was completely obliterated and only one functioning urinal with graffiti all over the place. The owners and the city of Bangor should be ashamed. I don’t think it’s even worth saving at this point. Someone posted in another review that it’s “dying”. It’s already dead. Bulldoze it.
Hutch K — Google review
This used to be a great place. The few stores that are left are good. It's amazing they stay in business. Most don't even know any are still open in the mall, since the owners take such horrible care of the road and parking lots. I would love to see something good happen here to see it come back to life.
Ann H — Google review
I used to live in Bangor 25 years ago, and the mall has definitely gone downhill from back then. Very few stores now, maybe one in four shops is occupied, and ones that were occupied, alot of them were closed when we visited. Guess there are some lawsuits going on about the upkeep of the mall, but there's not much there anymore. Don't waste your time!
Steven W — Google review
This place is a great walking facility for those that want a very dark indoor experience if the weather outside is bad out or it's the winter season other than that it's a dead mall. Yeah there is dicks sporting department but other then that as well as American eagle and a few random local stores it's not even worth your time to browse like way back in 2000 when they finally reopened their expansion to include such things as Victoria secret, Macy's, an eye clinic and a few eatery's but they have long since closed their doors and either completely left Bangor or moved to the Stillwater Ave shipping center. They really need to do something with the lighting that detracts from the semiannual craft fair which makes the mall come to life. So many vendors that sell their wares at reasonable prices. The parking lot as well as the drive around the mall is so bad that I even got a flat tire from driving there. You must keep a keen eye out for massive potholes that they just don't fix until it's the size of a 3' wide! So I hope in the future v they revitalize these stores because the reason why they closed shop was initially due to online shipping but now I hear that you need to pay for the problems that the owners of the building should pay to fix. Overall a great indoor walking facility, terrible lighting, and poor roads leads this place to be condemned. I mean just look at their inviting sign for Simon's Bangor mall on the corner of Hogan and Bangor mall Blvd. At least try to make it respectable but nope. It would get zero stars if they stopped people from walking the dark empty halls.
Guy M — Google review
Disgusting... run down, moldy, roof leaks everywhere, 90% of stores closed or empty. 2 of 10 washrooms were in service and those didn’t lock. Suspect a lot of drug use on the property. Religious cards left on all washroom surfaces. Bad post apocalyptic vibe overall - will never go back.
Sherry D — Google review
Severely deteriorating largely abandoned mall with a parking lot that looks like it was cluster bombed because of the severe potholes. Currently improving as little as humanly possible in response to being literally sued by the town for lack of maintenance. Dick's just outside the mall is ok but the mall is generally terrible.

The Thomas Hill Standpipe, a historic landmark in Bangor, Maine, has been in use since its completion in 1897. It serves to regulate water pressure downtown and can store up to 1.75 million gallons of water for emergencies. During World War II, it was painted olive for camouflage due to its proximity to an airfield. The standpipe is also known as the Derry Standpipe featured in Stephen King's "It.
I am not sure why I liked this so much but I did. It has a history and is very interesting architecturally. It is also surprisingly large and from a distance with its windows may be mistaken for something other than what it is. Speaking of it, it also has a history in one of the King novels. On a nice day the park is a pleasant place to enjoy the structure.
Perks A — Google review
Went here to visit the filming location for IT. Have to say, was very cool being in the exact spot they filmed, and lining up photos with the movie. To a non Stephen king fan it probably looks like nothing but I thought it was very cool. Recommend to all the king fans.

I came to find a geocache and discovered a pretty cool place . Such an interesting feature in the middle of Bangor, and it belongs to the Bangor Water District. Apparently this holds almost 1.8 million gallons of water, and for a few days a year, it is open to tours and a walk up the stairs to the top. The fountain nearby was being visited by the locals, who were happy to give me a pose.
Jacki C — Google review
Calling this place massive is an understatement. It is unfortunately can’t get in and walk around. There’s a staircase that leads to a giant steel riveted tank encased and a wooden jacket. The place was built in 1997 and 1,75 million gallons of water.
Malcolm G — Google review
Absolutely loved this, it is so huge and very cool! My only regret as I did not get to see the inside. Next time! Definitely worth The Visit. And I walked the half mile to the Stephen King house, very enjoyable. Highly recommend both!
Laura C — Google review
Stopped to visit it at dusk and it was cool to see. Read that this spot inspired Stephen King and that he actually wrote from the bench near it. Definitely something to see if you are a fan.

A fun afternoon. The standpipe was open to the public. After climbing the 100 stairs to a panoramic view of the Bangor area. Spectacular sight! We were blessed with a sunny day and clear skies. It was windy on the day we went so I'm glad we had jackets.

Flea & Street Markets
The Bangor Farmers' Market, located across from the Bangor Public Library, is a charming spot to experience Maine's natural bounty. This market offers an array of fresh produce, including fruits and vegetables, as well as locally produced goods such as organic meats, eggs, dairy products, and freshly baked items. In addition to food items, visitors can explore crafts like wooden creations and quilting projects.
This is a great market to visit and purchase some fresh produce. Buying directly from the producers is the best. Always fun to try new fruits and veggies that you have never seen before. Today, Kohlrabi was that veggie for me. This is a great place to spend an hour or so shopping.
Kenneth D — Google review
I’m hoping to turn out of vendors is better than it was today. The parking lot was only about a third full of people, however, it was a cold and kind of rainy day so I didn’t expect a whole lot of people out there. What a great location to have a farmers market right in the middle of downtown plenty of parking as well. Can’t wait to check this place out next weekend. It should be warmer in. Hopefully, it will be more people out.
Malcolm G — Google review
I loved it . There a few vendors. Those that we there had some nice food items . We got some delicious bread from Biggis . We got some arugula also . They had canned goods. I don't think they had a full market. They open I believe from 10:00 until 1:30 on Sundays. I would definitely recommend this market. They have fresh food . They don't take cards , cash only , but you can get tokens to shop with .
Mary S — Google review
This Farmers' Market is very expensive, not customer-friendly, and is in need of oversight from Bangor City Hall's Department of Code Enforcement because of the absence of safe hygiene practices at least a few sellers' stands. One of the stands that should be forced to comply with basic standards of sanitation is Biggi's Baked Goods stand, which sells uncovered products that are unhygienic due to airborne bacteria and the numerous flies crawling on their very expensive products. Almost all sellers charge very high prices. A father-daughter duo from Skowhegan sell pasta and frozen ready-to-bake dishes at the L'atelier Pasta stand. A one-pound tub of frozen Ziti with Red Sauce costs fifteen dollars. Ingredients for the various types of drinks and food sold there are supposedly organic, so perhaps this market is not +super expensive+. Nevertheless, hasn't inflation receded since the globo-socialists'-criminal-of-a-puppet president, Joseph Biden, left the White House eight months ago? In sum, very high prices, generally unfriendly and rough-around-the-edges sellers, and at least a few stands ignoring modern public health guidelines for food safety make the Bangor, Maine, Farmers' Market an undesirable place.

If you haven't checked out L'atelier Pasta and Gelato at the Bangor Farmers Market you are definitely missing out on the best pasta and gelato i have ever had. I have tried the ramen and the Gelato. I purchased ravioli and the fettuccine that I have yet to prepare but have no doubts that it will be just as amazing as the ramen and the gelato. I just tried the herb fettuccine on 5-24-25 and I have to say it is the best fettuccine I have had in my entire life!

Plenty of parking. Unique Sunday hours, rather than the usual Saturday. Typical vegetable and canned specialty vendors, but also broth and bread sellers plus a butcher.

Bangor City Forest, also known as the Rolland F. Perry City Forest, is a peaceful 650-acre recreational area located just 5 miles outside downtown Bangor. It offers a mile-long elevated Orono Bog Boardwalk that showcases the forest's unique ecology. The working forest provides ample trails for hiking, biking, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing, making it an ideal destination for outdoor enthusiasts seeking to immerse themselves in Maine's tranquil outdoors.
It's always so nice and peaceful. There are multiple trails including the board walk. Trails are well marked and mapped. When you do run into others in the trail everyone is friendly and nice. There are places to sit, bike trails, a porter potty, and different types of terrain to walk on which is nice. It's a great local getaway.

Such a nice and beautiful place to ride bikes and go for a walk amongst the Wild in maine.
Tay G — Google review
The bog walk was an easy trek with lots to look at along the way. It was shaded on the way in and out, with a sunny section in the middle of the loop. There were a couple of benches throughout where you could take a break and nature watch. Parking was full, but there was an overflow lot.
Michelle K — Google review
I was super impressed with this park. I wish I lived near a park like this! What a gem for the city of Bangor! Lots of well marked trails. Not a lot of elevation if you are looking for a hill workout but great, shaded trails for walking or running. The Bog walk boardwalk is also super nice, well maintained with lots of informational plaques about the environment and wildlife/birds who call the bog home.
Kristen A — Google review
Wonderful big park for easy hiking, trail running, or biking. Tall trees provide lots of shade. Paths are clearly marked with maps posted at intersections. There are primary and secondary trails, so lots of options for exploring. Trails are dog friendly; I had my pup with me, and we saw many others walking their dogs too. Heavily visited park but didn't feel crowded; getting there early is best if you want a quiet secluded walk. My only complaint is that the parking lot I parked in was NOT labeled on the posted maps, so I had to use GPS to make it back to my car.

A delightful find, near Bangor International Airport. A beautiful 😍 place for a walk while waiting for your flight, when it's too early to check in at the airport, but you've had to check out of your hotel or BNB. One last rendezvous with Maine's beautiful nature and a chance to stretch our leg before our long flight home. Kudos to my husband for finding it online. And yet another chance to learn a few things.

Located in Bangor, Maine, The Sports Arena is an expansive indoor entertainment center that offers a diverse range of activities for visitors of all ages. From bowling lanes and pool tables to arcade games and a sports bar with numerous channels, there's something for everyone. Additionally, the complex features an outdoor mini-golf course for those who prefer some fresh air while enjoying their leisure time.
The Sports Arena in Bangor, Maine has much to offer for a fun-filled afternoon or evening out. Whether you're into arcades, pool, bowling, or just want to relax with a drink watching sports and enjoy some bar food, the Sports Arena has got you covered. The large playground area is nice, available for both kids and adults. It's great to see a venue that caters to all ages, making it a perfect spot for family outings or hanging out with friends. Another plus is the mini-golf outside, which adds an extra layer of enjoyment to the overall experience. However, I did notice that the cleanliness of the place could use some improvement, and some areas of the interior seemed a bit rough and could use a fresh coat of paint or some minor repairs to spruce things up. While it didn't significantly affect my enjoyment, I believe a cleaner and more well-maintained environment would enhance the overall experience for everyone. Additionally, during my visit in late July 2023, half of the bowling area was under repairs. So, if you're planning to go bowling, it's a good idea to call ahead and check for available lanes or see if you can place your name on the waiting list in advance. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a fun and diverse entertainment spot in Bangor, Maine. Whether you're spending time with family, friends, or even having a special celebration, the Sports Arena offers something for everyone.

Our first time there and it was so disappointing. We went to see Motor Booty Affair (they were great) but the venue was TERRIBLE. We paid $15 each extra for “box seats” which was 4 stools on a crowded wall!! Under a ceiling that looked like it was going to fall in on us (see photo). The dance floor is way too small and there is an unmarked drop off at the edge of the dance floor… my friend fell off it as soon as we got out there because someone bumped into us…and she landed face first on a 2’ high post… bruised her chest badly. Would have killed her if she had landed on her throat!! Shame on you for not providing a safer venue!!! Also, we had to pay for bottles of water… which is fine… but every time we got up to dance, someone cleared our 1/2 full bottles of water. I had to ask bartender for replacement twice. Sadly, we won’t going back to the Bangor Sports Arena.

$0.26 a minute for a game of pool is robbery. I couldn’t even enjoy my game because it ended up costing $3 and I was rushing the whole time. The mall has pool for $1.50 per game. Screw this place no wonder it’s empty. Not coming back. Wouldn’t even order a drink because I was scared of how much it was going to cost.

Nice venue! Had no issues with staff or anything although security could be tighter. The sensor went off for me (I had nothing in my pockets) and I told them I had nothing and they just believed me, didn’t bother double checking. Think of what could’ve happened if I did have something that could harm others, insane. Saw the PBR rodeo there last Saturday. My only issue was people not knowing how to arrive at their seats on time and to not stand in the aisles. Nothing to do with the venue, just terrible situational awareness (typical). Had a great time though!

Looking for a fun and active night out? Look no further than Family Fun Bowling Center. Challenge your date to a friendly game of bowling and let loose in this classic date night activity. Families with kids will appreciate the helpful staff who provide light bowling balls and ramps for little ones. The center is well-prepared for COVID-19, ensuring plenty of space between lanes. Enjoy delicious snacks while bonding with friends or celebrating special occasions like birthdays.
3 hours for 6 players on Friday and Saturday nights is only $50. The lights and music were great, the only complaint are the alley provided balls, which of I could only find one that wasn't a fingertip ball. Great bonding experience with friends in recovery.

Not bad, pin placers and ball return racks are antiquated. The place could use a spruce up, new pins/machines and maybe a better group seating area. All seats are pointed toward the alley (I understand this, but it makes for a very inconvenient time to socialize if that's your goal) seems more geared toward a serious player, if they had better machines I could agree to that, but with the lower quality machines and readily available bar, it seems better for casuals but not set up for the social aspect. I'd only suggest to "pick a lane" if you'll pardon the expression. Management is polite, very helpful and ready and willing to please the customers. Good people with good hearts. That makes the experience for me. Thank you for a good experience! I'd like to become a regular but Id need some upgrades for that to happen.

Great place! I'd driven by several times before, I had no idea it would be as big as it was. The mini-golf is well tended and beautiful, with a lot of atmosphere. There are batting cages and go carts as well. Inside there is a small ice cream shop and arcade. Pricewise, I was surprised. $18.50 for two go cart races and a round of mini golf, which took the entire afternoon.
Benjamin M — Google review
I am glad we went, turns out my son LOVES miniature golf. We went two days in a row! Nice variety for the course, fun caves and waterfalls. Cool that they’ve got an arcade and batting cages to boot. A really nice fun way to spend a nice weather afternoon.
Jules H — Google review
Everything is clean with great staff. The price to play mini golf was only 11 bucks for 3 of us. I would of rated a higher score but the theme of the park was lacking, all of the golf areas were just plain, nothing just boring. And the only water cave display was old and not working. No pic's to show just to boring to even take one. On a positive note my grandson enjoyed the ice cream.
Albert W — Google review
Fun place for a quick outside excursion. 2 different 18-hole mini golf courses, go-karts, batting cages, and arcade. A snack counter with quick fare. Fun little place. Kids had fun and nice place to get out. Staff is friendly and helpful. Arcade could use a few more games, but nice variety. The shooting gallery is amusing. Would recommend this place. Good value.
Matthew J — Google review
It's just okay really. Nothing special about it. They have a few working arcade games. Two different mini golf courses that really need a better job of cutting back the tree branches and glass on the courses. The bathrooms are really clean and nice which is a big plus! They also have batting cages, but didn't try them out. The race track is fun, but a bit pricey for just five laps on the course. Overall pricey, but worth a try if you are in Bangor and want something else to do in July that doesn't involve water.
Mac V — Google review
Let me start by saying our experience was great and we will be going back. That being said.. The golf course is what we went for and I have to say though fun it is in need of serious repair and upkeep.. That's what kept me from giving it 5 stars... The greens were in disrepair and a lot of the trees and bushes are starting to over grow onto the course.. All the staff were very friendly and I absolutely appreciate that. The arcade was fun though not much of a prize selection. If as much attention was put into the grounds as to the hospitality this place would be amazing.
XXPFBXx K — Google review
Not a bad place to take the kid's to. Did some mini golf and the arcade. Sole of the arcade games need some TLC cause they were not working properly like wheel of fortune's touchscreen only worked on half the screen, made the choice of letters limited but we still got lucky enough by chance to win big on one of the puzzles. Bugs were out in force during mini golf but we managed. Kid's want to do Karts next time we go back.

I absolutely love this place. Granted it is simple and maybe dated yet That is the charm of the place its spirit and part of its wonderful atmosphere regardless of it's simplicity it has got beautiful pool tables arcade games and an outdoor area where you can go on go karts play baseball or play two rounds of Mini Golf moreover the owners are really kind and nice and welcoming there is a big parking lot just by the place and it's clean and who really well maintained

The Paul Bunyan Statue in Bangor, Maine has been a prominent landmark since 1959. Standing at 31 feet tall, this colorful fiberglass statue was a gift from a New York group of builders to commemorate their 125th anniversary. It depicts the legendary lumberjack alongside his blue ox and has become a popular photo spot for visitors. The statue is located in Bass Park and serves as a tribute to Bangor's forestry heritage, attracting thousands of tourists annually.
Parking is iffy. If you’re quick you can get away with parking at the gas station across the way. Simple but quick activity to do with the kids. Fun to see how little they are in comparison to the monstrosity that is Paul Bunyan!

The Bangor location is especially fun during the First Friday Art Walks, where they always showcase a fantastic range of collective work. It’s clear they’re deeply committed to supporting local artists and building community around creativity. The current show by Randi Watson is especially worth a visit. Her art is thoughtful, surrealist, and full of layered emotion.

I loved this play for my first years of college however they took a turn. I was happy shopping here thinking all their taxidermy is ethical however it is not. For my most recent visits, I realized they were selling bat taxidermy which is highly unethical in itself. It is almost impossible to get ethical bat taxidermy. Then on my last visit I saw this, a Painted Woolly Bat which is on the IUCN list as near threatened and typically cannot be obtained or sold due to this. And the fact that the patagium is fully intact (the fleshy parts of the wings) means that it was not found dead, it would have needed to be killed to be made into this taxidermy. The patagium deteriorates rapidly after death because of how delicate it is. I’m very disappointed that I have made purchases here before. I wonder what other ethical taxidermy they are lying about.

Really enjoyed my time there. Wish they had answered the phone before we made the hour ride there (wanted to make sure there was availability for a new anticipated movie). Thankfully they had room for us ! Loved how nostalgic it felt, and the sound was great. Most definitely going back

Great place to enjoy a relaxing movie(s) with family or date night. Food is a little pricy but glad they decreased the admission so it's a break even.

At $22 per car load and the reasonable concession prices, you can't go wrong. My family of 7 was able to go and enjoy a movie and good for less than $100. When normally the local theater charges almost $60 just to get tickets. Well worth it to bring the whole family and not have to find sitters if you have young kids. It has 2 screens one with family friendly movies, and one with PG-13+. This is very accommodating when considering the age demographic of the greater Bangor area.
Benjamin W — Google review
First time going last night and what a great experience we had! We got there a little early expecting it to be packed but there were not many cars at all, we had our space and privacy. Every employee we interacted with seemed to be friendly and helpful from the kid directing traffic, I believe his name was Jared, was able to answer our questions and was super friendly, to the manager who let us use bug spray because we were getting bit up. Literally saved us, we thought we were going to have to leave so we appreciated that sooo much! Definitely recommend taking bug spray or a citronella candle if setting up outside the car. Concession stand was stocks and yummy, popcorn was a little stale but staff appeared so accommodating that I’m sure if we walked back they would have replaced it. We were just being lazy, oops! Hopefully they continue to play fun movies and we will definitely keep coming back, would love to see this place stay in business! Definitely something different to do and offers nostalgia.

ok, I have zero art talent, however 2 co-workers invited me to a paint nite. Wonderful, no stress, results producing, fun. And we went back. Today. I took my niece and a packed lunch to an informal, walk-in ceramic paint afternoon. Just purchase what catches your fancy ($10 + and paint). I chose a vase, that I found out when done had tiny holes in vase? Turns out it is actually a plant water tender. Just soak tender, place in planter and voila...plants watered and tended for a week. At first mine looked like a 50's paint by numbers. but knowledgeable instructor showed me an easy dry brush technique to make piece look vintage! Love this place. 10 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Library
Bangor Public Library is a must-visit spot in the city, housed in a stunning historical building with three floors and a large copper dome roof. It's not just about books; the library offers free WiFi, cozy reading areas, and even a cafe on the ground floor. The architecture of the building is truly remarkable, featuring distinctive domes and archways that are hard to miss as you explore downtown Bangor.
A gem of a historic building with a beautiful dome and a very historic sofa! You'll enter through the new part (and that's a normal public library), but head upstairs to the old part! It has the sofa Hannibal Hamlin, vice president to Abe Lincoln, died on. 😮 Come in, have a look around!
Stacey T — Google review
Beautiful library with a massive collection. There is also a $1 book sale area which is addicting and almost always has a good mix of Niche & best seller books. Sometimes I go there to read because it is beautifully constructed. During the winter, it is unfortunately a homeless warming center and has a “crowd” in front of the building and near the entrance so it was be a little different from what I expect. In the summer time it’s a lot of families and book lovers. The librarians have always been helpful and nice.
Apples S — Google review
Great place to hang out! Lots of resources, books, art, computers, and free wifi! The third floor has a great children’s department with an awesome book selection, toys, puzzles, art supplies and great places to sit and read with the kiddos! They have also made improvements to the tween/teen areas over the last few months which is amazing! And a huge selection of board games! The library has great staff as well! Definitely recommend to anyone (especially those with kiddos)!
Morgan L — Google review
Wow! The Bangor Public Library is absolutely beautiful! There was such a wide selection, places to print, and space to just hang out. There were so many nice spaces to sit, tables to sprawl out on, and a little cafe even! I couldn’t believe there were instruments, magazines, art supplies, games, and more available for check out. It was super easy to open a library card, all I needed was my license.
Reagan E — Google review
The Bangor Public library is beautiful, has a wonderful cafe at the entrance, and for the first couple of hours was a great space to work in while visiting Bangor. However, it was the loudest library I have ever been to. People were arguing on the second floor, taking loud phone calls every hour, on conference call meetings without headphones, playing card games and slapping the table, and dogs running around barking (I’m a huge dog person, but this was not the place). I walked in on several people doing drugs in the bathroom, a man was overdosing out front, and a young woman was screaming on each floor with just a bra and shorts on. Public spaces are public spaces, but this is a library and should be treated with more respect. I don’t know why the staff didn’t do anything about these issues, it wasn’t hidden in any way.
Landis A — Google review
Always a charming place in downtown. Historical Architecture, and the little Cafe has the BEST ice cream cones. Love this place. It's always so clean in here, and the staff are super helpful and friendly.
Tasha H — Google review
The Bangor Public Library is a perfect example of how a savage land populated by rough men and rougher women desiring to improve their lives and their community can establish an icon of the civilized world despite the inhospitable nature of the environs. To say that the BPL is multi-faceted would be a gargantuan understatement. Here you may find people from all parts of society-from the unfortunate who slept on a park bench the night before trying to get warm to a member of the city council researching (or perhaps hoping to cover up) a controversial family history. BPL accommodates these people and welcomes the patron who might need Internet access or is an old fashioned reader of the pages. Starting with a "few books in a footlocker" and becoming a multi-story fantastic building filled with historicity, art exhibits, day care and monthly gatherings of assorted venues BPL can easily be noticed not only as a local gem but part of the heartbeat of Bangor.
Wayward C — Google review
I cannot speak highly enough of this place. Not only is the building beautiful and well maintained but the staff are incredible. The theater provides stadium seating, birthday party hosting, and a concession area serving typical movie snacks like popcorn, soft drinks, and candy. Inside the theater, visitors can enjoy comfortable reclining seats with armrests and cup holders. The lobby is clean and well-maintained with friendly staff members.
Our usual go to when there's a movie we want to see in theaters! The staff is friendly and they do a good job of keeping it clean. I wish they got in some of the special popcorn buckets but I understand they probably can't do small batch orders, maybe someday!

Bangor Mall Cinema 10 is a hidden gem for movie lovers looking for a quiet and comfortable experience. The ample parking makes it convenient, and the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, ensuring a smooth visit. The seats are well-cushioned and spacious, making for a relaxing watch. The theater was clean, and the sound quality was great. We watched Anora with fresh, buttery popcorn—it was a great way to unwind. If you’re in town and looking for an enjoyable movie night, this is a solid choice!

Such a clean, lovely theatre. We saw the new Hunger Games movie and paid $12 for our tickets. The facility was clean, well kept, and a nice spot to go for a night out. The staff were friendly and attentive.

Very nice movie theater and a couple of arcade games. I would say definitely, pretty expensive tho for the tickets and if you want to get any food or drinks but other then that a pretty comfortable movie theater.
Timothy L — Google review
It seems like Is shortstaffed. So you have to purchase your entry tickets at concessions. Although concessions was quick and prompt with five star approval. Going to cinema five was nice and clean. cinema five screen needs to be cleaned or replaced markings on the screen interfered with the viewing. But overall, it was a pleasant visit
Joni S — Google review
Nice clean lobby. Friendly staff. Good selection of new movies. Typical buttery salty popcorn, soft drinks and selection of movie theater candy. The exterior and parking lot could use some sprucing up, but the inside is really nice. Choose your seats when you buy your tickets. The seats are comfy recliners with arm rests, cup holders, the works. Clean well stocked restrooms. The sound was a bit scratchy...or I would have given the theater a 5.
Lisa D — Google review
Comfy seats. Good movie. Very few patrons for a Friday evening. Tickets are $11.00, a little pricey, but so are many other things.
Shirley B — Google review
Worst theater I've been in in years. The theater next to us could be heard though the wall the ceiling lights were on and couldn't see half the screen due to glare. The seats are awful did not even recline all the way extremely uncomfortable. I love half way between Bangor and Waterville and most definitely will attend Waterville from now on, it's dark noise free and has reclining even heated seats that are unbelievably comfortable. Sorry Bangor but you are a step below many other theaters in the state. I did like the arcade, my favorite part. Nosferatu sucked people have awful taste in movies waste of time and money should have seen a different movie 🎥🍿

Pretty similar to any other jump park or urban air park. The staff are friendly enough, actually the young lady that was working. The course was exceptionally kind to our two young children. Plenty of stuff to do for the kids. I do really dislike when you pay a premium to jump inside a jump part and then they have a ton of Arcade games you have to pay for separately. Did the people that run these places not have children and realize how much of a pain this is?
Malcolm G — Google review
The staff works hard to keep the place clean. They could be more attentive to the clients. Multiple times, I waited around for service. They were always gracious during interactions.
Intentionaltim — Google review
It has some features that are fun. It's obviously fun to take your kids. There is a huge focus on the arcade, which i'm not a fan of. There's also a lot of obstacle courses, which is good.If you have kids that are of interest, but I have a mixture. And so some of them aren't as a bit of so it really lacks a lot of the trampoline part of things. They do offer lots of promotions and discounts. I signed up for the summer pass, which was $60 at the beginning of summer. And I recently added another kiddo, and it was $50. This gives it really affordable, accessible value.Especially if you come here even two times it pays for itself. On our first visit, I had it incident where I accidentally bought two passes, and they resolved my claim within six hours. I had to call corporate, but it was immediately resolved before I even left the building. For trampoline parks, I do prefer the other one in Bangor as it has more focus on the play area and the trampoline part of things which i'm more prefer, if i'm going to a trampoline park.

Kids had lots of fun, they always do! Only gave 3 starts because the wait on the food was unreal! We ordered one pizza and it took over an hour to get it. If you're looking for a delightful outing with your furry friend, the Bangor Dog Park is an excellent choice. This park offers a spacious and secure environment where dogs can frolic off-leash, ensuring they have plenty of fun without interruptions. The facility features separate areas for small and large dogs, catering to their different needs. While the small dog area may feel somewhat limited due to its size and layout, it still provides a cozy spot for little pups to enjoy themselves.
Nice park. Relatively small, as far as Maine parks go, but decent sized for a city park. Bags and trash, but no water. There are three park spaces; large dogs, small dogs, and a training area. Ground cover is mostly sandy/dirt with trees at the back of the park for shade. People were friendly and dogs were great playing together.
Kindred W — Google review
Not just a dog park. There are lots of bike and walking trails. And a basketball court! So beautiful out there. Highly recommend.
Tay G — Google review
Separate play areas for large and small dogs. We used the big dog area, and there's lots of room for running and playing. Trees provide shade. The ground is covered in fine gravel, so it wasn't muddy. Water hose is avaliable, along with baby pools and water bowls. As with all dog parks, some people don't clean up after their dogs, but it wasn't too bad. Locals were super friendly.
Lindsey I — Google review
This place is wonderful! There are multiple pins set up for different size dogs. Trails that are wide, and maintained. My dog spends hours walking the trails and running around in the pins. There are pools filled with water on hot days! Bowls have been placed in the pins for drinking when your pup gets thirsty. There are balls and all kinds of things to keep them busy and socializing. 🥰 My only issue is the equipment in one of the pins and on a trail of to the left is the ramp is broken and could cause injury. It should either be removed or replaced.
Tia — Google review
Great size park with multiple enclosures for different sizes dogs. Picnic tables for seating under the shade. Hose water for the dogs. No bathrooms, not even a porta potty. The dog area itself had gravel and I honestly wasn't a fan because some dogs like to kick up the ground after going potty and those rocks were really flinging far!
Tia O — Google review

Took the family here. Paid for 6 of us and rented skates. 5 minutes later we realized it was not going to work for a couple of us to skate. Just not happening. Geoffrey C — Google review
A decent rink for a bit of fun, but get there early. Skated with massive groups of people all going around the ice. Many kids/teens who stopped to chat in the middle of the rink. No management stepping in, no adults raising the concern. Ridiculous situations there. After over an hour, the ice was carved up and in some areas reduced to powder. Management never called for the Zamboni or grooming of ANYTHING. Skating at this rink will be fun for about 10 minutes, then it gets crowded, uncomfortable and badly managed. Hazards everywhere.

Great place to have fun and cool off on a hot day!! Very well staffed and clean. Worth every Penney to get in (only a few dollars). I only wish there were more shaded structures for parents.

This seems to be a real cool place to stay a summer evening. With two big slides and a splash area for the smaller kids. It seems a fun place to be. There are no pool chairs and a pretty limited area of shaded seating if you want to sit under a tree. If you get a pass, it basically equate to $2.50 per person a day but that’s only if you get a 10 or 20 punch ticket if not, I think it’s double that price. The pool does open at 10 but only to like local campers And doesn’t open to the general public until 1 o’clock. Parking is free.

Why doesn't the hayford skatepark have a pleace for people to use the bathroom? It makes me extremely uncomfortable to have to pee in the bushes, in a space shared by small children. It isn't appropriate, and shows a lack of attention to detail by Parks & Rec. I feel like this exposes you guys to liability as well.

This is a great park but has a few missed details. #1. RESTROOMS, I see they had one at court st park. So I know it's possible and definitely be alot more uses in such busy park. #2. Lack of TRASH CAN. One by playground but that's it. Where do you expect dog walker put there poopbags? There 5 in Mansfield behind lock gate. Skatepark need it's own as well. As does tennis courts. Hopefully it will change soon. GREAT SPOT. 🤔Go pee b4 goin😬

I thought this was Bangor Parks and Rec!!! Not Varsity Bangor High School girls. Signed my daughter up for the Summer Basketball program and being NON residents which means the traveling to and from...it's the only program I could find in our area for her grade and she shows up to every practice and puts in the work. Apparently they rely on some Email system for updates, well we don't get those updates so we show up for games when we were told to be there @ 6:15 and the game had already started and my daughter doesn't even get to play. Not to mention the other girls that were there only played the last five minutes. She was very upset and crying on the way home. She loves basketball and shows up for everything and listens to the coaches on when to be where. Do better Bangor!!!

Staff seems really nice here although maybe understaffed. Workout facility are pretty decent. The pool area is actually very cool. I just didn’t take any pictures cause I thought it’d be odd. What’s really cool with the Isaac Farrar mansion that is a part of this YMCA. This house is an early 1830s build with plenty of history in architecture and they just use it as offices.

I went in to get a membership, went to work out, and was told I couldn’t wear a sports bra. I have simply never been to a single gym with this rule, and it’s honestly insane to me. even the front desk ladies (who were very kind and helpful) were not aware of this rule. Do better as a supervisor to train your staff, or alter this ridiculous rule. You’d have a loyal member if it wasn’t for this rude interaction.

Nice community YMCA with very nice fitness machines, dumbbells and cardio space. Well maintained and clean, though it lacks a variety of fitness machines. The free weight room downstairs had the minimum equipment including a bench, squat rack, dumbbells, etc, but nothing really stood out. Nice accessories for stretching and core work. Also has a nice small cycling studio and a four lane pool. Locker rooms are somewhat dated but did have a sauna. If no one is in a sauna it is usually powered down so I would suggest you power it up 15 minutes prior to using so it gets hot. A good average YMCA with the basics needed for a variety of fitness.

They need to get a better head swim coach. A lot of good swimmers no longer swim because of him. Paul was a excellent coach and didn't get help either. Shaun has help with the other assistant coaches that should replace him. Diane been spoken to about this, and per usual did nothing!
Whitney P — Google review
Great value and a nice well equipped facility for weights and fitness. Not so busy. The two pools are great for laps. I took some fitness classes that were really fun.
Rusty D — Google review
Going through a terrible experience after registering my daughter for a babysitters course only to have them email me less than 24 hours ahead to say it was canceled. This is the second time this has happened. I requested a refund for the class which is $150. Its been over a month and they have not refunded my card. I reached out several times to Sidney the aquatics manager who gave less than a friendly reply. I then escalated the issue and was assured I would have my refund "in the next day or so." Now a week later and still nothing and no follow through. Terrible service!

The Brewer Public Library is a delightful haven for book lovers and families alike. Known for its engaging Storytime sessions led by the beloved Miss Shelley, children can enjoy an hour filled with captivating stories and creative crafts every Tuesday and Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. Visitors often rave about the library's friendly staff, who are always ready to assist with various inquiries, from navigating technology to helping with passport appointments.
The librarians here are always so nice and helpful. Peaceful environment and have a ton of options to choose from. Would definitely recommend if you are a reader!
Whitney H — Google review
I go to the library multiple times a week with my (currently 4 y/o) son, and it is great! The staff are nice and helpful. The books, activities, and board games are always exciting for a kiddo. They also host events and have a lot of useful information and benefits beyond what you would expect of a library. The only reservation I have is the playground - it does get a bit dirty/overgrown w/moss at times. It’s not too bad but could do with a more regular service or cleaning, especially since the gated in fence encourages dogs to visit. I highly recommend any Brewer resident to come and visit at least once to see what they have available!

Church
Saint Mary's Church has a rich history that dates back to its establishment in 1872, following the division of the Bangor Congregation of St. John's Church. Initially constructed on Cedar Street, it was during this early phase that Reverend John W. Murphy took on the role of Pastor and utilized Bangor City Hall for services until the church was completed. Nestled in a serene natural setting, Saint Mary's is not only a welcoming space for Catholics but also an inviting place for those exploring their faith.
Beautiful modern church. The parishioners are welcoming.
C M — Google review
Parishioners of the church stole political signs and were given a choice to apologize and replace signs. And the two that did this chose not too, shameful. The church knew who they were and actually called lawyers to protect these people with hate in there heart exactly why I will not go back to the church I once belonged. Redemption day will come, and we need better leadership. God bless!!

The Penobscot River Walkway in Bangor is a 0.5-mile stretch along the waterfront, offering scenic views and a leisurely stroll. The walkway passes through Waterfront Park and features sculptures and a small public craft dock. Visitors can explore downtown Bangor's local treasures, including antique stores and pop-up craft shops.
This park has a fantastic walking path along the water with scenic views everywhere you look. There are also frequent park benches to stop and enjoy some people watching. If you're getting to much sun, there are plenty of large shady trees offering respite from the heat. Picnic tables also dot the park, perfect for a family looking for a comfortable place for a picnic.

What a nice spot to go for a run or a walk or just chill on a park bench. There’s plenty of free parking here so that’s never an issue. We were fortunate enough to catch the river boat and an ice cream truck. The homeless population is out of control, but they don’t seem to bother anybody so that’s cool.
