Maho Bay Beach, located on the northern side of St. John within Virgin Islands National Park, is a popular destination for snorkeling enthusiasts. The beach offers crystal clear waters and a white sand shoreline, with two stunning reefs bordering the bay. Visitors can easily spot sea turtles near the seagrass areas and swim alongside them in the shallow waters.
Incredible! Much less crowded than Trunk Bay! Wonderful place to snorkel. We saw turtles, barracuda, sting ray, and tons of interesting fish! We loved or new friend, James! He makes the best tasting drinks. Make sure to find him at the bar a little further down from the entrance! Get The Lime in the Coconut! Lots of shade. You can rent everything you need for a fun beach day. There are 2 different vendors who sell chairs so check prices. Avg price is between $15 and $20 per chair. Shop it out first to get the best price! Didn’t see the donkeys this visit! Maybe later in the week!

Beach was a bit busy and parking was tough but we found a spot. And then found a good spot off to the far right in the shade. Beach was amazing and the family was able to snorkeling and got to see turtles, and fish along with crabs tying to exchange shells.
Crystal B — Google review
Beautiful and not terribly crowded beach area. The limited parking (pretty much just the side of the road) limits the crowding, and the beach is just feet away from the road. Snorkeling here was not great for us. There's no coral - just turtle grass here. So we saw about 2 fish while out here and nothing else. One guy claimed to have seen a sea turtle - which seem to be common here.
Greg E — Google review
Maho. Just go. Get there early. Smaller than Trunk and Cinnamon, but parking is close and the beach is beautiful. More sheltered than Cinnamon which means less wind and less waves. Saw a four foot string ray and some smaller rays. Plenty of turtles! There have cabanas with picnic tables for free if you get there early. They have a beach bar and souvenir shop too. I recommend a Lime In The Coconut.

I've been to many islands and many beaches, and to me.This is the most beautiful beach in the world. It is stunning the water the surroundings. Perfect day for snorkeling and exploring. you can swim around and see all types of fishies and turtles. Across the street, they have food, trucks and dream trucks, perfect for a day at the beach. I recommend this beach to everyone. It's a once in a lifetime, please to visit

This beach is very awesome, beautiful and secluded. Gifts and eats after located across the street. The sand is white, the water is emerald, very good place to spend the day on a beach.

Shopping mall
Mongoose Junction is the main shopping area in Cruz Bay, offering a variety of duty-free luxury goods as well as clothing, artwork, and jewelry from local artists. The multilevel shopping center is designed with shaded paths, courtyards, and gardens that echo the surrounding plantation ruins. Located at the head of North Shore Road, Mongoose Junction provides easy access to St. John's spectacular beaches such as Trunk Bay and Cinnamon Bay.
Cool, mall location and layout. Many different shops, restaurants, food and beverages. Everything from curated rum to ice cream to a brewery, delicious and more.
Preston R — Google review
This is my fourth trip to Saint John, and I love to come shopping here at Mongoose Junction. Some of the stores don't survive the economy as it changes over time but I love that these shops are unique and present a lot of life local crafts. (Some of the goods they sell here are imported, not made on the island which is a little bit disheartening, but it's a great place to pick up souvenirs home accents, and t shirts swimsuits.) When we were here last year, we visited a dispensary, and we're happy to see that it is still up and running and prospering. This is an island, so of course, parking is a creature all of its own and if you're lucky enough to get a pay for parking slip, it's ten dollars an hour.
Kimberly M — Google review
This place has a mix of high end ($1k+ jewelery) as well as more affordable unique souvenirs. Not like the general souvenir shops like in Red Hook, though those are alright too. But Mongoose Junction is on another level. Even if all you do is walk around and admire the architecture it wont be time wasted. I was speaking with one of the shop keepers and they said the complex was built in the 1980s and is still owned and maintained by the same man. He still activly maintains the property himself, and you can tell. The whole place is a labor of love; fitting for St. John. If you are looking for unique jewelry, clothing, and more, this is your spot.
BlueBox M — Google review
So happy we went here, found so many amazing shops. Our best shopping experience in a beautiful location. Stairs and steps and there are plenty of maps on boards of location so know where to go. There are certainly far shops, rum tastings, art, boutiques and restaurants. Recommend 👍🏼

Great shopping. I liked the shaded area the trees provide and wood/stone architecture.

Here we had ice cream and went to a cafe "Sun Dog" I had a breakfast quesadilla and it was great. I also had bottomless mimosa's for $25 and although they only had 1 flavor any wouldn't make any others, It was good still, I just wish they had more options.

Nice mall, great stores, adequate free parking. We shipped at several stores and ate at the sandwhich shop. Highly recommend.

Bar & grill
Skinny Legs is a popular bar and grill located in Coral Bay, St John. It's known for its laid-back and funky vibe, combining a restaurant with a retail store. The menu features fresh salads, mouth-watering burgers, sandwiches, and homemade chili. Notably, they serve burgers with chips instead of fries to minimize environmental impact. Additionally, they offer daily specials and tropical drinks alongside cold beer.
So our Skinny Legs trip was kind of an accident – we drove all the way over to Salt Pond Beach b/c it was raining in Cruz Bay and we were told the “dry” side of the island is always better when that happened. It was raining harder at Salt Pond by the time we got there! So rather than trek down a muddy trail and sit in the rain, we backtracked for lunch at Skinny Legs. We weren’t the only ones with that idea; the place was heaving. Fortunately they have a lot of parking, we kind of wedged our jeep between two boat trailers in the harbor parking lot next door. After tracking down the guy who had the waitlist (turned out to be the owner!) we tucked ourselves away in a corner of the bar with a couple of beers and waited for our table. As we watched the staff bob and weave through the hectic crowd, it occurred to me that they all seemed to have really good attitudes for being as busy as they were. The bartender always delivered our beers with an unhurried smile, even though he had a stack of drink orders. The waitstaff very politely excused themselves as they zipped around the space. It was really impressive. We finally sat down after about a half-hour wait (which is what we were quoted). The service continued to be friendly and relaxed, and the burgers were ah-may-zing! Very happy the weather gave us an excuse to try Skinny Legs; it will be definitely be on our must-visit list next time we’re in St. John.
Ray G — Google review
YOU HAVE TO GO HERE WHILE IN ST. JOHN. You won't regret it!!! My father-in-law recommended this place, and we actually showed up on a day they were closed, and decided to go back on a different day during our trip. The drive was 10000% worth it!! I went in thinking burgers are burgers, but I was wrong. I got the raspberry colada and it's my favorite drink now. Hands down. I also ordered the special burger of the day, which had pepper jack cheese, grilled pineapple, and mango chutney on it. My family's been planning to recreate this since our visit. The atmosphere is great, with little chickens running around. We also went to the gift shop attached to the restaurant and got some merch while we waited for the food. Will definitely revisit when we're back in paradise and bring a flag or license plate to leave our mark!
Kelly J — Google review
This is a great local bar/pub with a lively laid back atmosphere. Theres a few TV’s around the bar area, plenty of tables too. Theres food looked terrific & drinks were not only well priced but darn good. There’s a wonderful store attached to Skinny Legs & the owner is wonderful. There’s prices are excellent for St John clothing & jewelry. Probably the best prices by far of anyplace I’ve been to on the island of St. John. There’s parking in the front (store a few steps down) and parking in the read (pub area).
Lisa B — Google review
So nice we went twice! We made two separate trips during our vacation and both times we tried the drinks of the day and the special burger of the day, both were always exceptional! The open air atmosphere gives island vibes and feels like your favorite dive bar. Chips are standard fare ruffles and tend to be a little soggy (humidity maybe?) but the burgers are always great!
Eric B — Google review
We stopped in for dinner on a Tuesday night. Seated immediately. Service was great. I had chicken sandwich and Rum Punch. She had Mahi Mahi with no bun and Painkiller. Both were standard for the island. Great atmosphere. Lots of parking. Large gift shop.
Pat B — Google review
Great atmosphere, very beachy. Service was iffy and slightly unattentive, the mahi mahi was over cooked and lacked any flavor. Chili dog was good and nightly special burger was good. Drinks were delicious. Over all we would rate it mid
Rick B — Google review
Look, is it the greatest burger you’ve ever had? Probably not, but it’s a solid 8/10. You’re here for the company, the vibes, and the fact that a place in Coral Bay has existed since the 90s. Bring a flag/pennant of your college, it’s probably already here but in case it’s not, you’d feel great for putting it up on the wall.
Paul M — Google review
We stopped by for lunch one afternoon during our trip. Such a cute place! Really nice environment and great service. We both got spiked lemonades which were extremely tasty. I got the mahi mahi sandwich and my boyfriend got a burger and both were great! We wanted to come back a second time while we were here but just didn't have the time. Will come back in the future when we inevitably visit the island again.

Cinnamon Bay is a picturesque destination on the island of St. John, featuring a stunning white sand beach and the remnants of an 1800s plantation. The Cinnamon Bay Natural Trail leads to America Hill Ruins, offering breathtaking views and a memorable hiking experience. Visitors can explore the Reef Bay Trail with mysterious petroglyphs or hike to Rams Head for panoramic ocean views. Snorkeling enthusiasts can bring their gear to discover St.
Absolutely beautiful! The hike down to Cinnamon Bay wasn't bad at all, my mom did it in flip flops. Cinnamon Bay, located in the Virgin Islands National Park, is a stunning beach that offers a perfect blend of natural beauty and relaxation. The hike down to the beach is a rewarding experience in itself, with breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. Once you reach the beach, you'll be greeted by soft, white sand and crystal-clear turquoise waters. The water is incredibly warm and inviting, making it perfect for swimming, snorkeling, or simply wading in the shallows. The beach is also a great spot to relax and soak up the sun. With its stunning scenery, pristine waters, and peaceful atmosphere, Cinnamon Bay is a must-visit destination for anyone traveling to St. John.
Amalia H — Google review
Nice beach to hang out and catch some sun and ocean waves. Not great for snorkeling and it gets packed with local tourists and those coming over from St. Thomas for the day. Parking can be a challenge as well. Go early to grab a spot.
C L — Google review
Everyone talks about Trunk Bay being the most beautiful in the world, but do not skip this one! We packed up early and walked to the very far end near the black rocks. Spent the whole day relaxing feeling like we were the only ones on the beach. Everyone clears out at 4 to catch their cruise’s or their dinner plans so if you want that picturesque sunset walk on the beach, you’ll get it! We snorkeled a lot on St.John so the days we came here we drank the day away :). A short walk back to the entrance and amazing painkillers, strong ones too! Don’t let people on Facebook groups scare you, bring your Neso and just be considerate of others
Christy S — Google review
In our first appriach we were not going to visit this beach thinking in Trunk beach as our first option, however after visiting Cinamon Beach I will say that it's a paradaise. Super good installations food, clear waters and a bay that will make you dream. This is a must, dont forget it!
Paco N — Google review
Without a doubt my favorite beach! Of course I haven’t been to all, but this one was just breathtaking!! No entry fee, we took a taxi but there was parking. Bathrooms are available & little food/drink shack
Ann B — Google review
This beach is hard to describe in words. It IS GORGEOUS. Soft sand, barely a shell or rock in the ocean and crystal clear waters. Great for snorkeling or just floating on your back! We found fresh coconuts and beautiful coral when walking down the beach. I need to go back!!!!
Jade Z — Google review
What an absolutely gorgeous beach. I would have loved to have spent the day here, but we had a laundry list of things to see. We were in search of the “window” that I had seen everywhere when researching the area and then learned that it’s right as you walk from the parking lot, down the sidewalk, to the beach. I was thinking we had to do some major hiking to get to it, but not the case. The parking is ample and the beach is pretty big. You may even catch a glimpse of a cute little deer passing through.
Ali B — Google review
By far my favorite beach on St. John. Not at all crowded like Trunk Bay, although the campground there is still closed from Irmaria so it may be more crowded when that opens. Sugar sand beach, clear water, and good snorkeling. Take the time to go across the street and take the trail through the ruins on a self-guided tour.

Hiking Trails
Reef Bay Trail is a 4.4-mile moderate trail on St. John Island, popular among hikers and bird-watchers. The trail features two forests and a sugar mill, as well as mysterious petroglyphs carved around 900-1500 AD by the pre-Columbian Taino and their ancestors.
This was a great trail! Parking is just on the side of the road where ever you can find it. The trail down was easy and enjoyable with lots to see on the way. Take the side trail to the petroglyphs, it’s flat, easy walking and worth seeing. The sugar mill ruins are worth seeing too! The ruins are very intact and the placards were informational and interesting. My husband and I took a picnic lunch to eat on the beach to rest before hiking back up. I took a dip in the ocean to cool off. Reef Bay Beach isn’t the best beach to swim - the surf was a rough the day we went and you NEED water shoes to swim. Good beach combing here, though. The hike up: oooo boy. Like many other reviews said, the last 1/3 of the hike back up is a killer. We got a later start to the day then we wanted so we were hiking back up at 1pm, in the heat of the day. My husband and I are active (hike on weekends, weightlift 3-4 days a week) and most of the hike back up was easy. The last bit is at a decently steep incline with several sets of stone stairs and I struggled, though I think it was the heat and humidity that was affecting me the most. The actual trail really wasn’t that bad( I do a trail at home regularly that is steeper and I manage) but hiking it in the heat of the day is not recommended!! Don’t be like me! My husband made out just fine. Make sure you have enough water for the hike back up, you will need it!! That said, my husband and I made the 2.2mile hike back up in about 1hr 15minutes, even with my multiple water/breathing breaks.
Lauren H — Google review
Starting near mile marker 5 on Rt. 10, an approximately 4.4 mile round trip trail down a leaf/stone strewn dirt path into the lush growth and trees, leading to Reef Bay. We took the offshoot trail (about another 1/2 mile round trip) to see the waterfall and petroglyphs, then swam in the bay (water shoes recommended) before making our way back up the trail. The return trip is pretty steep once you’re about 3/4 of a mile from the end. Recommend lots of water!
Lisa B — Google review
We hiked a few trails on Saint John and this was one of our favorites. The parking is pretty tight as you just pull over into any dirt spot you can find and make sure you're not sticking out into the road. The trail from the road down to the old sugar mill and back, had us at about 6 miles while checking out some of the small outlets. It is all downhill from the road so you'll have a bit of a hike back up but it was a beautiful trail. We spotted lots of hermit crabs and even a few Mongooses. The sugar mill ruins are very cool to see and the beach seems to only be able to be accessed via hiking or boating. Make sure to pack some water it is a good amount in the shade but gets hot quickly.
Dave P — Google review
This is an awesome hike with plenty to see. I will say that it's equally challenging and beautiful. If you're hesitant about the difficulty, I'd pick another trail, but if you're up for a challenge, you can't beat the views. The first half of the hike is all down hill and the return trip is all up hill. The trail is shaded, which a big plus. Bring plenty of water!
Tyler W — Google review
Jan 2024 - My wife and I (mid 60s) walked the trail from Centerline to the Petroglyphs and back. It's such a beautiful hike I can see why so many people enjoy it. We are fairly active and had no difficulty with the steeper parts - just a little winded at times. It was a perfect day - Low 80s with a nice breeze. I could see it being more challenging if it were really hot. The trail is in very nice condition. There are a few rocky spots and its likely to be slippery when wet but I would not hesitate to do it again. There are some lovely views, as well as some interesting ruins from the former sugar plantations. It is well shaded, which makes its a pleasant trail on a sunny day. As advised, be sure to bring some water and perhaps a few snacks. Next time we would likely go the rest of the way to the coast (we had plans to swim at Maho Bay so we decided to go as far as the Petroglyphs).
David R — Google review
Pretty aggressive trail on the way back, switchbacks with steep inclines make sure you bring lots of water! The trail is covered mostly during the day and leads down to a secluded beach as well as the petroglyph trail and an abandoned sugar factory
Corey B — Google review
This is a great trail that is mostly covered from the sun. The trail is definitely moderate coming back up from the beach. Going out is fine and the beach provides a nice relief point. Definitely remember to bring enough water and take your time going back up as there is a lot of walking uphill. Parking was on the side of the road near mile marker 5, just remember to go early as the spots on the roadside can fill up quick. There’s a couple offshoots on the trail bringing you to the petroglyphs which is interesting to check out!
Suril D — Google review
Fairly eaay hike down, much tougher coming back up but definitely worth doing! Cool rain forest hike with petroglyphs and various interesting trees, ruins and a beach along the way.

Annaberg Sugar Plantation, built in 1718, is an 18th-century sugar plantation with well-preserved ruins including a windmill tower and factory. The site is part of the Virgin Islands National Park and offers visitors a glimpse into the island's colonial past and post-emancipation culture. The Cinnamon Bay Nature Loop provides easy access to the plantation ruins, with a wheelchair-friendly boardwalk looping through the area.
Excellent historical location. Very moving to see many parts of this plantation. The Friends of the Virgin Islands have demonstrations 3 days a week. It was our lucky day. We were able to try fresh bread, and got to tour the kitchen-which showed the wealth of the previously enslaved owner who bought the plantation that once owned him. It was so incredibly informative.
Kathryn B — Google review
The parking lot is down by the beach. An uphill hike to the plantation. If you are not good on stairs, you can walk the road to get there. Those views are jaw dropping! Great panorama of the British VI, plenty of history of the plantation. Beautiful quiet place.
JitkaKac — Google review
My Bride and I opted for self-guided activities on this trip. Driving is challenging. If you are used to driving to the right, you will be mentally challenged. On top of this, the roads are narrow, steep (almost make San Francisco look flat). Hairpin turns galore. Now combine all of the above. That is your driving experience in the Virgin Islands National Park at St. John's, U.S. Virgin Islands. The park itself is replete with trails of varying difficulty, There are markers enough for guidance. We would have spent more time at the plantation, but it started raining heavily. Walking through, visitors may learn much from the information boards. I did not like the "woke" flavor of their content.
Leon D — Google review
This is a beautifully preserved plantation with an incredibly sad history. It feels like sacred ground and should be treated as such. We are so glad we didn't miss this visit. So much hardship in such a beautiful place. Highly recommend visiting this historic site.

A must see! Not a very big place. You could spend 1 hour tops there. Free parking. The garden keeper was very nice! We were able to try sugar cane, bananas, and were given leaves to make tea or just to smell. Really cool experience. The views were amazing and the buildings out of a movie.

Honeymoon Beach is a stunning location on St. John's East End, situated at the edge of the Virgin Islands National Park. Accessible via a narrow path from East End Road, this beach offers breathtaking underwater scenery with vibrant corals and diverse marine life. Snorkelers can explore rocky patch reefs adorned with sea fans, gorgonians, mustard corals, and brain coral in 5 to 15 feet of water.
I parked at the tourist center and took the trail over. It was a pretty flat trail, and great for running! I think on a map the lower trail looks longer, but it’s flatter. The upper trail goes uphill a little bit and looks shorter on a map. I ran into a couple coming down from NPS offices, but it seems like a much harder hike. The beach was beautiful! There are snack bars, bars, and plenty of space. It looks like the two roads leading into the beach are private and not for public vehicles.

Amazing free spot to go swimming and snorkeling. Beach club right there if you want to rent chairs or buy food / drinks. Accessible via shuttle or hiking.

Our favorite beach on st john, not crowded, great snorkeling, friendly staff and the best drinks we had at any beach on the island

This is a great spot to start your day or finish your hike! The staff are super friendly and understanding of a hot day on the beach ... the food and service was excellent! They even promote aluminum cups!

One of our favorite beaches that is less populated and stunning. I love the chair and F&B service available! The staff are incredibly kind and the drinks and food were great! We parked at Caneel Bay Resort and paid $24 for the shuttle to the beach and chaise chairs once at the beach.

Gorgeous beach ! Crystal clear water, amazing snorkeling, come to see the sea turtles. Tropical fish swim among your feet when your just waist deep in the water. No rocks, amazing sand. Boats in the bay. Just picture perfect, quiet and amazing. Must see. Crabs walk on the paths behind the beach.
Dr. T — Google review
Honeymoon beach is beautiful, quiant, with wonderful blue waters. Unlike the previous reviews their isn't a place to rent chairs or umbrellas. I'm not sure if this was because I went on Wednesday. The beach is very secluded so a 30 minute hike from the ferry was the best option to get there and back.
A E — Google review
One of the best beaches I have ever visited!! It was clean and not crowded (may be I was there during off session in May). There is a trail from the road that leads to this spectacular beach, around 15 to 20 minutes of walking downhill. There is a nice little food place with sandwiches and drinks! A store to buy or rent floaters, chairs, paddleboats, etc, with washroom and changing rooms.. They close by 5pm, so please buy your food and drinks before that. Beautiful at sunset too! People don't stay after 6 or 7pm as it is little isolated. I LOVED THIS BEACH!!!

Stunningly beautiful. Great snorkeling. Not crowded at all really since there are so many choices of beaches. We did get there early-ish. 9 am or so.

An incredible beach and well worth the effort if you are taking a cruise to St Thomas. I made a video about going to St John / Trunk Bay. It's one of the most beautiful beaches you can visit. Such an amazing place!
Alex Y — Google review
Paradise om Earth ? You found it !Trunk Bay is nothing short of majestic beauty. The moment you arrive, you are greeted with crystal-clear turquoise waters that look like they’ve been painted by hand, and the softest, finest white sand that feels like silk under your feet. This is truly one of the most breathtaking beaches in the Caribbean — perfect for swimming, snorkeling, or simply soaking in paradise. We spent hours enjoying the pristine water and the postcard-worthy scenery. The panoramic views, whether from the shore or looking out at the lush green island just offshore, are unforgettable. It’s the kind of place that makes you wish time could stop. A couple of practical notes for future visitors: Transportation: If you’re coming by cruise ship into Cruz Bay, taxis are the main way to reach Trunk Bay. While they’re efficient, the drivers can sometimes be a bit abrupt or even rude. One important thing to remember: they will not wait for you if you are not back at the vehicle at the exact time they say. Plan your beach time carefully to avoid being stranded. Food & drinks: There is only one food shack on the beach. While convenient, the prices are quite high compared to what you’d expect. Definitely bring extra cash (not all places take cards) and, if possible, pack a few snacks and water beforehand. Even with these small inconveniences, Trunk Bay is absolutely worth the trip. It is a slice of paradise that combines natural beauty, tranquility, and the magic of the Caribbean. If you’re visiting St. John, don’t miss it — this is one of those places that stays with you forever.

This has to be one of the most gorgeous beaches in the world. There is an extra fee for this beach. It's $5 a person. Totally worth it. There's also food and drinks available. There's a snorkel tour underwater that you can do by yourself.
Caitlin C — Google review
Beautiful, blue water, clean sand, and hardly any crowds. It's about 5 bucks a person to enter here - but it's worth the price. The parking lot is small, which cuts down on the crowds here. There is an underwater snorkeling trail marked out by a few buoys you can follow out to Trunk Cay. It's not the best in the world, but it's very accessible an in a calm, easy bay. There are nice bathroom and shower facilities here as well.

Beautiful beach, great snorkeling. Hard to describe in words! Food and drinks were awesome and this is part of the park services ! Well done!

The most beautiful place I’ve ever visited so far! We took a cruise from the US and ported in St. Thomas. We wanted to check off a bucket list place by visiting St. John. A U.S. National Park. The timing was perfect on a beautiful day, the first week in September. I would definitely do a destination trip to this island as I would love to explore it more. Must see if you love God’s nature on land and sea.

One if the calmest beaches in St Johns. Get there early and find a good spot. Great for snorkeling and just hanging on the beach. If you are staying in St. Thomas take the ferry over to St. John.

St. John is a popular Caribbean destination known for its stunning white sand beaches and the Virgin Islands National Park, which boasts a diverse range of bird species. The park was generously donated by Laurance Rockefeller in 1956, covering a significant portion of the island and offering beautiful beaches and campgrounds along Route 20. The park spans nearly two-thirds of St. John Island, surrounding coastal waters, part of St. Thomas Island, and most of Hassel Island.
Beautiful small Island with a few spectacular beaches. Great souvenir shops. Great place to sit and watch the day go by. They have the best beaches clean and clear water perfect for swimming and snorkeling. It’s just 30 minute ferry ride from St. Thomas. My favorite beach is Trunk Bay.
Stephanie C — Google review
BVI was a stop on a recent cruise. We did a day trip to St. John, then a tour of the island. Honestly, when you've seen one Virgin Island (whether US or British), you've seen them all. The terrain is basically identical. Unfortunately, a lot of the houses and businesses are still in disrepair after the hurricanes of a few years ago. I can certainly understand this as getting anything to these islands is a difficult, expensive task, not counting how expensive basic building materials are in the first place. The nicest thing about any of these islands is the water, which is why the majority of people go there. It is stunningly beautiful. The white sand beaches contrast with the multi-hued water, ranging from a gorgeous green, to aqua to light blue to dark blue. And, the water is crystal clear. No wonder these islands are a divers (and snorkelers) paradise. Don't waste your time on island tours, there's just not a lot to see.

Beautiful island. Breathe taking views and amazing beaches. Perfect spot for snorkeling. Island is really quiet and full with nature surprises. We saw so many different animals leaving free and together. Was wild life experience for me ! Great spot if you looking for this quiet beach getaway. Transportation is easy. Taxis are cheap and they go to every beach. Food and shopping is expensive. No airport so reaching till here is time taking but is worth the expense

Absolutely beautiful island. Gorgeous beaches, great hiking. Remember to bring reef safe spf as that is the only kind allowed. Drive on the left and download a map beforehand because of the mountains. Bring bug spray as well. Keep in mind parking is very limited at all beaches and hiking destinations.

Almost island is the national park with beautiful white sand beaches, hiking trails, historical ruins of the past. Cruz Bay is the docking terminal for visitors with passenger ferry and separate car ferry. Best time to visit is in late fall, winter and spring as summer is pretty hot and hurricane time. Foot passengers can utilize taxi service but car is recommend in order to explore the park.

I really liked this island trip. Very relaxing and beautiful. Beaches are nice, ocean is mesmerizing. One thing I didn't consider is always having a bug repellent on. I'd even recommend bringing either bug spray or citronella candles for inside. And since you will get bitten at some point bring your favorite anti itch spray/cream. But a lovely stay none the less.

Francis Bay is a serene and tranquil beach located between Maho and Leinster Bays on the north shore of St. John. It offers a peaceful escape from the crowds, with opportunities to swim alongside sea turtles at the calm and shallow Maho Bay. The rocky north coast provides excellent snorkeling, especially during summer when large schools of silvery fish gather close to shore. The area is known for its pristine natural beauty and tranquility, as it is mostly owned by the National Park.

Peace Hill is a short but rewarding trail located just under 3 miles from Cruz Bay. The roughly 10-minute walk leads to the top of a bluff where visitors can enjoy stunning views of Trunk Bay and the Caribbean. At the summit, hikers will find an old sugar mill tower and remnants of a larger-than-life statue called "Christ of the Caribbean," which was destroyed by Hurricane Marilyn in 1995.

Waterlemon Cay is a popular spot for snorkeling and swimming, surrounded by a reef that offers the chance to see coral formations, turtles, rays, and conch. The crystal-clear waters off the coast of this cay are perfect for encountering marine life such as seahorses, starfish, and sea turtles. Accessible via the Leinster Bay Trail, it's just a short walk from Annaberg Parking lot to reach this picturesque island.
If you can’t go snorkeling with a boat, I do believe this is the best spot accessible from land. 3 things to be aware of - Wear water shoes. There are a lot of sea urchins where you get in the water. - We didn’t have any cell service once we hit the hiking trail. Which was fine. At the head of the trail you will have service from British Virgin island side. If you have to make phone call, be aware of your international plan. - Though not frequent, taxis do pass by if you don’t have a car. Just plan things early and you will be fine.
Tina L — Google review
This is a very nice snorkeling spot - mainly because it's away from people. We were the only ones here at the time. Beware of a few things: There are a ton of jellyfish. They are mostly moon jellyfish, which have a sting that doesn't hurt too bad (so I'm told), but I'd rather stay on the safe side. Around the Cay gets shallow and it's filled with sharp coral. Stay away from the shallow areas to avoid touching it. The same shallows are full of sea urchins. Be very careful - these things hurt a lot. I just spent the last hour digging spines out of my partner's hand. Just stay away. The waves are larger around here. It's not a great spot for children. Otherwise, we saw a HUGE green sea turtle and a lot of fish around here.
Greg E — Google review
One of our favorite snorkeling spots on St John. Nice hike in. The coral took a little abuse but seems to be coming back nice. Saw some sea turtles and a large barracuda as well. Will definitely return.
James K — Google review
Great snorkeling, have to be willing walk. Only carry what you need and be comfortable to carry it. Swim counter clockwise around the cay to catch the current back. Sharks, rays, barracudas, and plenty of fish. Not a tourist spot yet so very low key. Walk all the way to the point for the easiest access to the cay. Enjoy!
Jack S — Google review
Great snorkeling. Saw see turtles, nurse sharks and thousands of fish. Takes a good hike to get there but it was worth it.
Darren D — Google review
First let’s be honest, it’s a hike, a hot hike. I had to carry all of our gear, took 30 minutes. On the way in prior to the cay there were sea turtles in the grass. I left my wife on the stones, no sand beach near the cay. The swim out to the cay was nice, saw a nurse shark under some coral. We swam counterclockwise around the cay as everyone says to. There were large coral and all the fish on the backside. Not saying it’s not worth it yet there’s better beaches on the island.
Robert M — Google review
The hike (its flat the whole way but about 20-25 minutes) is completely worth it for the incredible snorkeling! We saw an array of gorgeous fish including rainbow parrotfish, and also encountered a nurse shark. Just keep in mind the current when snorkeling here and be cautious. I recommend not doing this trip alone.
Whitney C — Google review
Probably best spot to snorkel on the island. In my opinion, Hawaii has much better spots, but def. worth the visit. Make sure you go for a dive at the beach prior the cat. There are sea turtles, sting rays there.

Hawksnest Beach, located on the North side of the island, is a picturesque sandy beach with clear waters that are perfect for swimming and snorkeling. It's known as one of the best snorkeling spots in the Virgin Islands National Park, offering opportunities to observe beautiful elkhorn coral and colorful fish. The beach also provides access to nearby secluded spots like Gibneys Beach/Oppenheimer Beach and offers a somewhat challenging swim around the rocks.
Definitely our favorite beach on St John. There was also a great spot on the right hand side of the beach for snorkeling. We saw all kinds of turtles and pretty fish. Parking is kind of limited, which is kind of nice because the beach doesn't get too busy/crowded.

Went on a cloudier day but it was still SO GORGEOUS! Spacious but not too wide or large. There are bbq grills that work with coal, and easy parking in front . Loved it here!
Isabelle — Google review
Hawksnest Beach is a great beach if you want calm waves, snorkeling and crystal clear water. The difference between Maho Bay and Hawksnest Beach is that Hawksnest beach is much wider and has more beach so there are more places to find both sun and shade, it also has good snorkeling (but not great), it’s more convenient due to its close distance to Cruz Bay. It has restroom facilities and picnic tables and good parking. There is no hike to the beach. However, on some days the waves can actually get quite rough. Definitely one of my favorite beaches on St John!
Bronwyn R — Google review
Beautiful Sandy Beaches smaller once you are actually on the beach than you may expect but this beach is not too crowded, maybe because you need too take a boat from Saint Thomas to Saint John, then à taxi/bus to beach. The water is nice and warm. A great place to relax the day away. FYI I actually did see Hawks... thus the name of the beach. I really loved this beach.

Gorgeous beach, with slightly less crowds than most—this little gem has some of the neatest waves crashing throughout. With a nice little sheltered picnic area and working facilities that weren’t damaged by the hurricanes like most of the others.

As you venture along East End Road past Coral Bay, you'll find yourself surrounded by lush scenery leading to this idyllic beach.
The beach club is great. Staff works hard. The shuttle is well worth it and the beach chairs are nice. Cabanas are crazy $$ but why not….some might pay and the biz needs to make $$. We had excellent service and it is one Of the finest beaches on the island. Also close to Cruz Bay and hiking.

Caneel Bay beach reopened to the public in August. Three parking lots and a 5 minute walk to the beach. Free. Only porta potties now as the park service is slowly getting it open again. The ruins of the once beautiful resort remain. The shuttle to Honeymoon Beach runs from the parking areas. At Honeymoon they have umbrellas, lounges, food and drink but the fees are high.

Greatly enjoyed this visit to VI NP. After speaking to one of the two interpretive Rangers for the park, they are very understaffed. The new Park HQ and visitor center is very nice and worth a visit. Hopefully the bathrooms will get some attention next. Additionally, updated signage will help visitors navigate the massive park. Most beaches and facilities are free, with Trunk Bay as an exception. You can only (realistically) walk to Solomon and Honeymoon beaches via the trails from the visitor center. The others all require a taxi ($9 pp/ one way) or a rental car. Trunk Bay is $5 pp, with very limited parking.

The Westin St. John Resort Villas is a beachfront property located on 47 acres along a beautiful white-sand beach. The resort offers one- to three-bedroom villas, with plans to convert hotel rooms into vacation villas. Guests can enjoy direct beach access, two restaurants, an outdoor pool, a spa, and sports courts. The well-maintained grounds are surrounded by lush tropical vegetation, providing a serene atmosphere for families or remote working groups.
Beautiful resort in St Johns. We loved our stay there. The beaches around the island are gorgeous. There are wild iguanas all around the resort. Grounds were kept clean and the pool was nice. Lots of amenities including pickleball, tennis, gym, and smoothies at the pool.

We arrived around 8 p.m. to a large property and were welcomed by a receptionist who was friendly and provided a clear explanation of the resort amenities. Our villa was spacious and clean, comfortably for four people. However, there was a noticeable, slightly odd smell when we entered, possibly from the washing machine or simply the age of the building.Parking was easy during our stay since there were few guests, but it could be challenging when the resort is busy. Because the property is so large, a car or golf cart service is essential for getting around. Our villa was conveniently located near a small pool, which we enjoyed. The kitchen was well equipped for anyone who wants to cook. Overall, it’s a roomy and well-equipped place for a relaxing stay, though the initial odor and potential parking issues are worth noting.
Hazel B — Google review
Beautiful resort with the pier attached. Highly recommend taking the Westin ferry. Can take back and forth as you wish during your stay. Service is 50/50…either amazing or super rude. Room was super nice but in need of an update. So much cool wildlife to see.
Jennifer M — Google review
St. John is 1 of the smaller virgin islands but so worth the visit. We are owners and this was our 1st visit here. Westin did not disappoint. From arrival to departure, I felt taken care of. The villa was amazing, comfortable, with stylish decor. The layout was a little off. Like you had to squeeze into spaces if you opened a door. Weird, but only a slight inconvenience. Shuttles are all across the property so you don't have to walk. Plus, you can call for 1 before you even leave your room or pick up a yellow phone to request 1. Everyone was nice. We were greeted on arrival to a nice rum punch cocktail. Non-alcoholic versions are available as well. Our luggage was delivered to our villa. We were checked in so quick. I've never gotten checked in without a "process" before. We asked for a resort tour around the property. It was nice.✅️ It may be cheaper to take the public ferry ⛴️ and all to the resort but I recommend going thru Westin. Iguanas 🦎 big and small love the island so brace yourself. 1 day, I even saw a stork. Gorgeous 😍 Deer are around too, but I'm used to them. 1 last tip. You have to take a taxi for almost any and everything because Cruz Bay is the closest town and not within walking distance. Probably not a safe walk either. The roads there are hilly, narrow, curvy, and I felt death was near every time 😂 Also, unless you are used to driving on the opposite side of the road, don't rent a car. Taxis are cheaper anyway. Or stay at the resort. You don't have to leave because they have everything. Unless you're a beach person. Taxis will take you. Westin has a wonderful pool but not a beach.
Van — Google review
Absolutely the worst place I have ever stayed at and it all started with the horrendous staff and the check in. If you thought any other “island time” folks were slowing and uncaring, look no further than the Westin on St. John’s. I haven’t even left the property but thank goodness I’m checking out asap. Check in: guaranteed by 4pm. Was after 530pm we could get in and it’s during their non-season. None of the front desk workers provided any reasonable updates or do anything. No effort no care on their part at all. Next, the rooms and kitchen space just have generally horrible design. The power goes out at least twice per day, causing the AC to reset so it jacks up to 75 degrees at night and you have to go turn it down in the middle of your sleep. That’s fun. The parking lot is far too small when every rented car is a Jeep with the turning radius of a rhino. Finally, the staff - specifically front desk and the men driving the golf carts, are the worst I have ever encountered. They only are there to get you in trouble, they let other Jeeps drive all over but god forbid you move the Jeep a few spots closer temporarily to pack on check out day they freak out and try to write you a ticket. The golf cart people never offer to move any of their luggage or help at all, they just patrol doing nothing. I’ll never in a million years stay here again. The place flat out sucks and if you want to “explore” St John’s just take a ferry for half a day from St. Thomas. I’ll never go back. Also almost all the food on the island sucks too.
Vince Z — Google review
We enjoyed our stay here overall. The rooms could use a bit of updating, but they were comfortable and worked well for us and it was quiet. The service was great for the most part, though we were disappointed that the concierge we were assigned wasn’t available to welcome us and never responded to our email about restaurant reservations we booked through him. However the first shuttle driver we had, Neil, was amazing and we loved the welcome drinks they provided after we got off the ferry. One downside was that the on-site restaurants closed pretty early, and because our room was a bit far from the main activity areas, we often had to rely on the shuttle. It would be nice if they had some late night options past 9pm. That said, taxis were easy to access, and despite a few inconveniences, we had a good stay and enjoyed our time here.
Lea W — Google review
The Website is very old and is NOT representative. This is NOT a high end place. Its a beat up 3 star TIME SHARE condo. TV didnt work for 3 days and nobody came to fix. Asked every day. The service is really bad. Almost NO transportation. Not happy staff. You wait forever. The place is beat up. Remote area. Have to cab it to everywhere. Nothing walkable. I'd return to St John as will my group but NEVER would we stay here again. Being fair its a 6. Staff agreed that "understaffed" and everyone complains so transportation.

As a long time Marriott member this resort is a very big disappointment stay away! Just got here 1 day ago and can’t get out fast enough! Rooms are very small dated and dirty! We cannot say enough great things about Island Roots charters. The online booking is easy, communication is great and professional. We were staying in the Coral Bay Area and asked about being picked up closer to our villa. The Island Roots team was super accommodating and picked us up on the beach at the bottom of the hill behind our house. Captain Ryan made sure we avoided sea urchins while walking to the boat. We had the best day island hopping around the BVI! We finished the day with tacos from Lime Out and safely back to our beach. Captain Ryan was so professional kept us safe while ensuring we had FUN in the sun with Island Roots!

We recently spent an incredible day on the water with Island Roots Charters, and I can’t say enough good things about the experience. Captain Ryan was outstanding — he expertly navigated tricky waters, found the calmest and most beautiful spots, and was fantastic with our kids, making the day enjoyable and stress-free for everyone. Our trip through the British Virgin Islands was unforgettable. We explored stunning beaches like Sandy Spit, snorkeled vibrant reefs at The Caves, and experienced the breathtaking beauty of The Baths. Captain Ryan also made sure we had time to enjoy unique stops like Willy T and White Bay, perfectly balancing adventure with relaxation. Island Roots made everything easy and seamless from start to finish. The local knowledge, professionalism, and hospitality were top-notch. We were absolutely stoked with our time on the water and are already looking forward to booking with them again on our next trip. Highly recommend

Their tours take you through the breathtaking waters of St. John's North Shore or the serene Coral Reef National Monument in Hurricane Hole, where you can enjoy lunch and snorkeling along the way. In addition to kayaking, Arawak provides opportunities for standup paddleboarding, snorkeling, fly fishing trips, and even multi-day expeditions that combine various sports. St.
Whatever you do, try to get Baby Jesus (aka Joshua) as your guide. He will turn your tour into an adventure of a lifetime. We did the full day kayak snorkel trip and have only good things to say. Tips: it’s 80% snorkeling and 20% kayaking. Bring your own mask and snorkel (you shouldn’t visit USVI without them anyway). And bring 1-2 liters of water!!! And above all else, buy Baby Jesus a drink and ask for vacation tips, the locals know best!

I found their staff to be very helpful over the telephone and in person, and they made using their services very easy. We only rented a tandem kayak from this time, but would love to be able to take them up on a larger service in the future, as we hope to revisit (kayak > camp sounds amazing). I gave their name to several other tourists who were just starting their trips. Day trip kayaking and snorkeling in Hurricane Hole was well worth it. We went solo, but I have to imagine their guides do a lovely job, as the moments on the phone and at the shore, they were very informative. Thanks Dylan and Scotty

Renting kayaks & snorkel gear from VI Ecotours is definitely the way to go when in the USVI. I love being able to take a little adventure whenever the mood/situation arises. They have some good tours, but as someone who lived there in the past, I like the convenience of having my own gear. Super easy, too, to pick it up in Mongoose Junction - their shop is right by the parking lot for simple loading. I also found that I liked being able to fully reserve my gear in advance - one or two of the other companies said it was a “hold” but couldn’t guarantee availability. This will come in handy if you’re traveling during busy season.

We did a half day snorkel and kayak trip with Andy. Wonderful experience all around. I have been fortunate to visit St John for more than 25 years and learned new things throughout. We saw an amazing range of fish, turtles, octopus, and a red banded shrimp. Andy was fantastic. Highly recommend!!

We had planned on going kayaking along the north shore beaches, but due to rough waves and winds, our trip was changed to the more protected shores of a secluded area of bays called "Hurricane Hole" - where boats apparently go to hide during hurricanes. Although we missed not being able to enjoy a few more beaches, we were glad we didn't have to cancel and this turned out to be a great trip. Our guide Anj was wonderfully professional, personable and knowledgeable about the area, kayaking and the marine life. The double sit-in type kayaks were in good condition and easy to manage. Overall we enjoyed about two hours of moderate kayaking and two hours of moderate snorkeling, with a simple but tasty sandwich lunch (didn't want to eat too much anyways as there were no restrooms in this remote area). The water was fairly clear along the rocky shoreline and we saw a wide variety of fish and coral. It was nice being a small group of 8 as Anj was attentive, able to answer everyone's questions, ensure everyone stayed safe, and provide individual assistance as needed. Loved the experience - it was absolutely a highlight of our trip!

Did the full day kayak and snorkeling tour around the North Shore and it was definitely a highlight of our trip to St John! Caleb is an excellent guide, we learned so much. Saw sea turtles, a nurse shark, star fish, and plenty of beautiful fish and coral! Highly highly recommend!

Visitors also praise their responsive and helpful customer service, making it a top recommendation for those looking to explore the islands in an economical yet reliable vehicle.
We had a wonderful Experience with Denzil Clyne Rental. We loved our jeep, it was in excellent condition. They were helpful when we needed a place to park while in town and needing to go out for a day to park there. Good Folks!!!

The vehicle was fine. I’m not sure why the employees seem so angry from the get go. The lady we picked up & dropped off the vehicle from was unfriendly despite our efforts to be happy & excited about STJ. The drop off was the same. They pointed out a small scuff on the (already beaten up) SUV that we rented. It was so comical to point out a tiny mark on the car that before our rental had definitely seen its better days! I said, “I really don’t think we did that, but charge us if you need to.” That did it! She became super angry & told my husband I shouldn’t have said that! Wow! I didn’t expect that comeback as I was basically laughing it off over the ridiculousness of them finding the tiny scuff mark. Anyways, I would use them again only in a pinch!! The local businesses in STJ are ALWAYS amazing & friendly! Pick another car rental if a smile & kindness are important in your customer service experience! Life’s too short!! :)

Returned vehicle after filling up with gas and freshly vacuumed. The tall skinny man doing the return was rude and claimed I did not fill up the tank all the way. He said it needed $15 of gas to fill it. Basically a cash grab, like what he has done to many others based on the reviews. Last year we rented from them and he said I’d be charged $100 for sand in the vehicle. Same man made retuning vehicle a terrible experience both times we’ve rented. Don’t rent from Denzil Clyne. Find another rental company.

We had a great experience with Denzil Clyne . Our jeep was in great condition. Brenda was very helpful and communicated with us through text . Always responded to us within minutes . Great people to work with we would definitely rent from them again !

Good experience with pickup and drop off of a RAV4 for the week. A few blocks from the passenger ferry. They waited for our arrival just before 6, as we thought we would be earlier. Very clean car, worked well on the steep turns and inclines. Drop off was easy at the end of our week. Thank you Denzil Clyne!
Elaine S — Google review
An employee? (not Brenda, the owner, but a man who unlocked for the day) was there for the return. He claimed the tank wasn’t full (it was and we had the receipt). Demanded $40 but refused to sign a receipt that we we resolved the gas issue. Because we were catching the ferry we were stuck and he knew it. Super shady. He ended up returning $11 and change. Provided “receipt” for 5 gallons worth which there was no chance it needed that much. Jeep was fine but the check oil light was on the entire time (he didn’t seem concerned about that).Brenda was very easy to deal and the Jeep was in very good condition - but her Saturday morning guy was scary and shady.

We had a great experience with Denzil Clyne! We were a little hesitant to use this company because they don’t have online booking but it was simple and easy to get everything done over the phone. This was our fourth time to St. John. We’ve rented from several other companies and this was the best experience we’ve had! Highly recommend! Also, they are the most economical.

It's also perfectly poised near the Reef Bay surf spot and the Reef Bay trailhead, not to mention the owner Michael's hospitality. He's been living on the island for about 15 years now and knows it like the back of his hand. The Leinster Bay Trail is a picturesque hiking route located in the Virgin Islands National Park on the island of St. John. This scenic trail offers hikers the opportunity to explore lush tropical forests, enjoy stunning views of the Caribbean Sea, and discover historical ruins along the way. The trail is known for its diverse wildlife and plant species, making it a popular destination for nature enthusiasts and bird watchers. Hikers can also access Waterlemon Cay, a beautiful snorkeling spot, from this trail.
You better combine this trail with the Johnny Horn Trail.
Nils H — Google review
The trail starts by the shore past the Annenberg ruins. It's a rocky shoe and best with hiking shoes. Plan on 45 minutes to walk to the end.
Arjun S — Google review
This is your entry route to Waterlemon Bay and Waterlemon Cay. It's an easy walk, right at about a mile to get to the entry to Waterlemon Cay, and just less than that to get to the bay. It's mostly exposed, but there are some small wooded sections. If you go past the bay, you'll likely be walking in water for a bit - so I would wear water shoes if you plan on going on to the Cay or the Johnny Horn Trail. Total distance for us was about 2.4 miles round trip, with almost zero elevation.

If you're dreaming of the ultimate getaway, look no further than Coconuts, a stunning villa rental nestled in the picturesque Gifft Hill area of St. John. Just a short 1.5 miles from some of the island's most beautiful beaches like Honeymoon Beach and Caneel Bay, this location is perfect for beach lovers. The hosts, Danielle and Kevin, are incredibly welcoming and ensure that your stay is nothing short of exceptional.
Danielle and Kevin were the consumate hosts for our week at Coconuts, one of their two adjacent villas in the Gifft Hill section of St John. The views are amazing, the amenities are first-rate within the home and we each had our own bedroom/living space and then plenty of communal areas for eating, swimming, hot-tubbing, relaxing, playing games etc. One is about 12-15 minutes uphill from downtown Cruz Bay, and the drive is not too challenging (at least not for Seattle drivers who are used to steep hills!), but the owners make every accomodation to meet their guests however necessary to make the first trip to Coconuts as easy as possible. There is a comprehensive guest book with lots of terrific pointers, tips and recommendations for activities at the villa, in the national park, and in Cruz Bay and Coral Bay. This really helped with advance planning and then reminders along the way. We would enthusiastically recommend Coconuts to any visitors to St John and hope to come back soon!

Outdoor Activities
Oppenheimer Beach is a stunning beach located in St. John, within the Virgin Islands National Park. This picturesque spot offers plenty of opportunities for swimming, snorkeling and hiking. It is a private beach managed by the National Park, complete with bathrooms and showers available for visitors to use. The terrain leading down to the beach creates a fun and adventurous atmosphere, resembling walking through a jungle before being rewarded with paradise.
With the release of the movie "Oppenheimer," it was an obsession to find the house where J. Robert Oppenheimer lived on St. John when we discovered we would be visiting the island. It is difficult to find, because there is no sign or marker off the road. If you're driving from Cruz Bay toward Hawksnest beach, keep driving until you see a white picket fence and, just beyond that, you'll see black iron gates with a chain on it and room enough for just three cars. That is Oppenheimer Beach. There is an opening in the locked gates, which, if you look at them carefully, have "Oppenheimer Beach" in wrought iron. Down the short paved driveway, you'll come upon the most beautiful white sand beach and his former home, a yellow house on the bay. It is in ruins and needs serious rehabbing, but the historic value still impresses. The white picket fence is for the Gibney Villa, which is a beautiful white house on the beach that is available for rental. Across the bay, you can see part of the former Caneel Bay resort. Get there early to nab one of the three parking spots. We got there at 8:45 a.m. and they were all taken! There is one parking spot off the road, facing the white picket fence. We were lucky to get that one!
Irena S — Google review
Hands down the best beach on the island and worth making a point to go to. The parking is super limited but if you're there by 830am you can usually find a spot. Amazing beach with soft sand, crystal clear water and no crowds. The snorkeling was good especially for beginners as the waters are pretty calm. We found conch, a sea turtle, and lots of schools of fish. In the shallows in front of Oppenheimers house there are fish that nibble your toes that our kids found hilarious. We visited most of the beaches on the island during our stay and this was our favorite by far.
Seth T — Google review
It is a nice beach, accessible by a trail.
Muris D — Google review
What a gorgeous beach!! You have to get dropped off because access is thru a gated community, but it's worth it! The tire swing is no longer there. The palm tree met its demise during one of the hurricanes. So sad! But a peaceful beach off the beaten path! If you like hidden spots, like I do, make a visit!
Lorelei H — Google review
Oppenheimer Beach is not where it is shown on Google Maps. Wonderful beach.

Incredible! We took the path from Peace Hill down here so we were plenty sweaty when we got down to the beach. Half is pretty Rocky, but the other half is soft white sand with Crystal clear water. Very very quiet beach and pretty secluded. We were the only ones on the beach when we got there.
Kevin P — Google review
This was our favorite beach on St. John, which is really saying something. The walk down means this beach is usually not as crowded as some of the others, and the views are superb. Perfect place to relax all day in tranquility.
