Murray Art Museum Albury (MAMA) is a vibrant hub for visual arts, housing an eclectic collection of paintings, photographs, and sculptures within a historic space. The museum underwent a significant redevelopment in 2015, transforming into a contemporary art experience with an innovative facade designed for kinetic art and projections. MAMA aims to elevate Albury as a destination rather than just a stopover by offering international touring exhibitions and fostering deep connections to the regional culture.
A small yet beautiful museum. The staff is very friendly and we get to experience beautiful pieces of work from different artists. Special kudos to Sonam for making my day extra special.

When you walk 🚶‍♀️ into the Atrium you see 👀 the Aboriginal word Gawaym banba which translates as Welcome, plus a poem Nginha which means here. Nginha is the central idea that deserts 🏜 connection to Country and place for Wiradjuri people. When I was here the exhibitions were rather varied. I loved the Aboriginal collection I'm always delighted seeing 👀 Aboriginal paintings in art 🎨 galleries and museums as I'm proudly Wiradjuri woman 👩.

A beautiful building that houses a free entry museum, in the main street of town. I really enjoyed the presentations and multiple areas of visual displays. Easy access, beautiful park behind the rear of the building, and a coffee shop outside. Worth visiting 👍
Raelene G — Google review
Really enjoyed our time here. We were lucky to have a tour here guided by Gong, a pleasant mannered and knowledgeable staff. She was always happy to answer questions and share her insights, which adds to the overall experience of visiting the museum. Overall, the Murray Art Museum is a must-visit destination for anyone interested in contemporary Australian art. Its world-class collection, engaging programming, and welcoming atmosphere make it a standout institution in the Australian art world. I highly recommend a visit!

Nature & Parks
Botanical garden
Albury Botanic Gardens, established in 1877, spans across 9.9 acres and features a diverse collection of native and exotic plant species. The gardens boast over 1,000 plant species from 450 genera and 95 plant families, including a notable assortment of rainforest species.
The Botanical gardens are exceptionally beautiful and I found that they were relatively quiet and not overcrowded. There's a fantastic diversity of flora and lots of shade in seats situated throughout the park. I would like to see it open at night time. Sometimes especially lit up with events or perhaps choirs. It would also be a great place to hold nature studies for school groups to encourage our children to become lovers of the planet.
Neville H — Google review
What a charming little park! Colorful flowers and tall palm trees sway gently in the breeze, accompanied by the sweet scent of osmanthus blossoms. Locals can be seen relaxing on the grass, enjoying picnics with friends, or playing with their children—it's truly a lovely spot to unwind. The children's playground is a particular highlight, full of whimsical and imaginative features: ceramic sculptures, a dinosaur-shaped speaking tube, small animal-themed wooden seats, handpans, and tiny xylophones… There's even a fairytale-like restroom adorned with stained glass and a sculpted lizard winding around the exterior. It's truly a magical place.
Steph G — Google review
I had the chance to visit this garden for spending some time alone in the afternoon, it is a very nice place for meditation and for photography. Lots of varieties and well maintained, free entrance.
Davide M — Google review
It was beautiful. Manicured lawns and well tended plants and trees. Peaceful walking with my sister. The paths are flat and suitable for all abilities and wheelchairs. We looked at the children's playground and it was full of exquisite details for the children to explore.
Kim W — Google review
Very eye-catching garden. So cleaned and well decorated. Best place to rest and relax with family.

Really enjoyed it here and on weekend it was quiet and peaceful it wasn't as big as I expected it to be but it was an amazing experience and it has something special about it it was easy to get to and find and it was free entry so nice and manicured

Thoroughly enjoyed our walk through the gardens, it was our first visit. Lots of stunning mature trees, had a great old world feel. We were there when the light show was on which was beautiful.

Public swimming pool
Located in Hovell Tree Park along the Murray River, Albury Swim Centre is a popular spot for both locals and tourists to unwind and beat the heat during the warmer months. The center features an Olympic-sized 50-meter pool with eight lanes, a heated 25-meter pool, a designated area for babies and toddlers with shade sails, and an exciting giant water slide.
Decent outdoor pool and water slide. Keep in mind the water slide is an extra cost per turn although they are flexible with it. They start closing before closing time so keep that in mind. A good experience
Joe C — Google review
Nice public pool has good opening hours for when coming from Sydney and Arriving early in the morning. Pool is at a nice temperature during the cold climates and all year round plus there is a water slide.
N — Google review
Perfect place for 50m winter swimming
Andrew G — Google review
My kids were excited to go to the swimming centre but it was closed which was a huge disappointment for us. It showed in google that the swim centre was open today but it was not accurate. We came all the way from Rutherglen but we only came here to come face to face with a disappointment. They should update their google status. They don't even pick up the phone calls. This centre is one of the worst I've ever been to. You should not come here or you will regret it.
Varun C — Google review
Pool suitable for lap swimming over winter. Although wouldn't take kids down in winter, bit chilly in open air.
Tom H — Google review
Loads of shade, lots of seating. Very nice place to swim

Nature & Parks
Noreuil Park Foreshore is a serene and picturesque park located on the banks of the Murray River in Albury. It offers a variety of activities for couples, families, and travelers passing through. The park features an enclosed playground with ample shade from large trees, overlooking the river and offering BBQ facilities nearby. Visitors can enjoy picnics, canoeing, fishing, and walking tracks while children have a great time at the playground.
Great place for a picnic, BBQ facilities . There's an off leash area for dogs, on leash near the BBQ. Beautiful location, lots of parking, kayaks and canoes for hire. The river allows you to float along and the locals told us most swim and fast float about 2 klms. We saw little kids, dogs and elderly floating down the river so seems safe. A must see location.
Awakening C — Google review
Beautiful place with plenty space of parking and everything. There is public toilet, cafe nearby. BBQ spot to use and plenty table. A lot of big trees that give big shade for you to picnic here. Playground for kids, plenty space to cycle their bikes, play sports and everything. You can swim here too just be aware of their strong current.
Hifdzannudin H — Google review
Noreuil Park is a wonderful riverside destination with a charming lake, perfect for a peaceful walk or bike ride. Enjoy watching the ducks and pelicans in this well-maintained park, which also features a restaurant and plenty of parking.
Richard M — Google review
Beautiful place, lots of shade, space for picnics. Some tables & chairs. Perfect for an afternoon swim in the river. Lots of people floating down the river to the boat ramps walking back & doing it again. Small climb/,step down to sandy beach area, lovely & refreshing water. Must watch your kids here as the river can move fast.
Jenny T — Google review
Very nice park, next to the river , love it !

Such a beautiful area- nothing like this in Perth (our home) so we were really impressed with this stunning area. Big shade trees, lush lawn, plenty of parking, toilets onsite, playground and swimming in the big river, that also had a bit of flow to it.

We had a lovely welcome. The room was a good size and had beautiful views of the trees leading out to the golf course. We had dinner at the Commercial Golf Club in The Bistro. Once again, wonderful service and the food was absolutely delicious. Couldn't fault anything. Loved it. 😋😍😃

I had a fantastic experience at the Commercial Golf Club accommodation. The Rooms were modern, exceptionally clean, bed was very comfortable and it had all you needed for an overnight stay. The hotel manger was accommodating, professional and very friendly. I will definitely be back. Can’t fault it.

We had such a lovely stay at this motel during our stop-over from Sydney to Mt Buller. The husband and wife owners were absolutely lovely and very attentive, making us feel genuinely welcome. The room was freshly renovated, spotlessly clean, and the beds were incredibly comfortable — we had a great night’s sleep! I highly recommend staying here, and it’s now the only place I’ll book when passing through Albury.
Lital G — Google review
What a great place. We booked on the day and told John at reception we would be late arriving and would like a stay and play package. He was soooo helpful. Late check in at 9.30pm was not a hassle. He organised for a golf game in the morning. He was great. Next morning knock at 7am,as promised, and our game was set. You have to stay here. We were also lucky to get a family room at the right price.

Bistro Review. This is the fourth time we have had lunch here, the food is amazing! The drinks cold, both food & drinks very reasonably priced! And did i mention the food is amazing! Wr have not had a bad meal, today 5 of us for a birthday lunch for a lovely dear family friend along with her hubby, my dad from Rutherglen & hubby n I from Yarrawonga. The setting is wonderful, the staff are always friendly but I must point out one shining star, Rosalind. Ive worked in hospitality & we frequent many venues in many places, nothing rattles this woman, she is always so welcoming, so genuinely helpful & always has the biggest smile. Each time we've been you have been the same. Today was very busy, the queue to order was constant for over an hour & a half but you just kept smiling & helping.

Great info centre for local and adjacent areas. We were there when Kaitlyn was on duty. Kaitlyn is a natural tourism ambassador. We were given info on Wine districts, and local attractions. Nothing was any trouble. We were assisted with our Visitors declaration for Victoria. Highly recommend.

My daughter and I came back to Albury to explore more after the first short stay. The lady at the centre was amazing. She was talking to my daughter and me about our favourites and preferences, then advised us a lot kid-friendly activities and worthy sightseeing places in Albury/Wodonga surrounding. Please keep up the good work, amazingly kind lady. We truly appreciate that.

It was very hard to find this place. The signage leading to the centre is confusing. And there is no carpark available. We had to go around the block a few times and for those with camping trailers there is no designated carpark at all. No fridge magnets sold either.

Motel
Located on the banks of the Murray River in Albury Wodonga, Albury Garden Court Motel offers a comfortable and unpretentious stay. The motel provides an outdoor pool, free parking, Wi-Fi, and a convenient train station shuttle. Guests appreciate the well-heated rooms with comfortable mattresses and fluffy towels. The spacious rooms are equipped with excellent crockery and cutlery facilities for personal breakfast supplies.
This was my third stay here in the past four months due to a family emergency, and every time, the staff have been absolutely wonderful. They are so kind, supportive, and always go out of their way to help. The motel rooms and pool are spotless — much cleaner than other Albury properties I’ve stayed in—which makes a huge difference when you're dealing with a stressful situation. The rooms can fit two adults and two children, important when travelling with kids and the location is perfect for shops and high street. I truly appreciate the care and kindness from the staff. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else—highly recommend!
Allison S — Google review
Would rate it 0 stars if I could. Never come here again. There were stains everywhere, on the towels, on the bedsheets, on the pillows, everywhere. When I can into the room the toilet paper roll was half used, not even changed from the previous people who stayed here. All the towels had stains, I had to use a small towel to wipe myself dry as it was the only thing that looked clean. Also when I came in the kettle already was half full- they didn't even pour the water out from the previous people who stayed here. All the chairs had crumbs or dirty stuff on it. I had to sleep just on-top of the bed with my own jacket and clothes as blankets and pillows. You could also physically see dirt and other disguising stuff everywhere on the walls and floors. Looks like they didn't even clean and only swapped the bedsheets with other used ones. It doesn't even look like they change towels. I will never come here again.

Albury Garden Court Motel offers a comfortable and affordable stay with its central location, clean rooms, and convenient amenities. While some guests have raised concerns about room security and air conditioning, the overall experience remains positive. It's a solid choice for travelers seeking value and accessibility in Albury.

We have stayed here couple of times but I would to say that we had great experience every time. Reasonable prices & best location. Neat and clean. Walking distance to cbd (Dean st) . Can't go wrong. Cheers
Tejinder S — Google review
The room size is pretty good, but air con is not working. Turned on 5pm until 2am have a little bit cool feeling. Carpet is super dirty. The back glass door can't be locked, you won't feel safe at all. Bed is pretty comfortable, room is not sound proof, so pretty noisy at night. They have Netflix account linked to the tv. No instructions book inside the motel, dont know how to do early check out. Called the hotline when we want to check out, no one is there and we can only leave the key inside a unlock key box. Not a good experience!
Kandrew L — Google review
Great Service & friendly staff. Can’t go wrong with price. We come late night around 10:30pm and their staff waited for us and open reception for us to provide us for extra milk required for my baby. Great location must try it. Thank you

Overall experience, left me feeling overall disgusted. Right from the beginning through to the end the experience was awful, started with the reception lady who was less then welcoming, rude and abrupt and sticks her nose up at you every time she’s spoken to, more so worried about smoking cigarettes at the table on her phone and didn’t want to be interrupted with work while at work. Upon check in entering the room to an already dirty couch, dirty floors with food still stuck on them. No soaps or little shampoos. Most tv channels don’t work.

Honestly everyone who runs an helps this are honestly so polite to everyone including if you have disability, They help you when you need it too, The motel has cameras outside so you can feel safe an enjoy ya stay, The area is walking distance to woolies an alot shops an places to have drink an eat, Highly recommend here 💯

The Yindyamarra Sculpture Walk along the Wagirra Trail features contemporary Aboriginal sculptures accompanied by interpretative panels and videos that share the cultural significance of the Murray River. Customers praise the straightforward service, safety briefings, and friendly staff. While some recommend bringing essentials and being cautious, others highlight the relaxing and picturesque nature of the experience.
Our family trip down the Murray river was a great experience with Dave and the crew. Very professional and knowledge of the river with all its dangers and beauty was well explained making our journey a memorable trip not to forget. Highly recommend them for anyone thinking of doing this.

I don’t write reviews much but I just had to write one for this canoe trip! Yesterday I booked a canoe trip for 4 people for today and Dave was really quick to respond which was so nice. We also ended up having a last minute 2 extra people who came in with only 30 minutes notice and thankfully Dave was very very kind and accommodating to the change. We had such a great time it was so beautiful on the water too. It’s been a while since I last went canoeing but I LOVED it my group of 6 all had such a wonderful time! Dave also leant us his dry bag to put our belongings in which was very kind as we did not have our own. Dave is such a lovely man and couldn’t recommend him more! I Will definitely be coming back and doing this again whenever I am next in the area. I couldn’t recommend Dave more to have a wonderful experience on the beautiful Murray River!

I have been twice now with Murray river canoe! Dave is a great host!!! He makes enjoying the river easy as all you need to do is turn up and everything you need for a great day is supplied. The river is perfect this time of year but a bit to cold to paddle board so hiring a canoe is a perfect way to enjoy the river without falling in off a paddle hahaha! We stopped off and saw a few of the sites along the bike track too :) Worth every cent!

I would consider myself quite an experienced kayaker, as I have tried multiple kayaking buisness’ among the Murray valley. But I must say me and Dave were tremendously impressed at the adventure and service that Murray river Canoe Hire provided. 100% recommend to advanced kayakers and families wanting an exciting day day !

I was 1 of 13 (Ages: 16 to 52) who completed the 27km (6hr) kayaking down the Murray River. None of us were overly experienced in Kayaking with all of us having different fitness levels and we all made it to the end. Dave provided us with an easy to read map, gave us an in depth briefing before taking off on our kayaking adventure. We stopped a few times to take in the scenery, have lunch and to hop in the freezing cold water to cool off. There were a couple of mishaps, but nothing major due to Dave giving us great advice beforehand. We would definitely do it again.

What a great time we had, canoeing and camping for 2 nights from Albury to Howlong! Such a great experience. Thanks for the awesome service and knowledge David!

Entertainment agency
The Flying Fruit Fly Circus is a renowned program that offers circus skills training for kids. They are known for their stellar reputation and will soon be expanding to a new space. The circus offers fun classes for children as young as 2.5 years old, providing them with opportunities to engage in activities like tumbling, balancing, and bouncing while making new friends and becoming more confident. Parents can watch their kids during the classes but are not allowed to take photos or videos to ensure privacy and safety.
Can not speak highly enough of this place. Incredible facilities but more importantly the staff are remarkable! They have so much time and patience for the kids which means everyone has a great time.

My son absolutely loves this place and the teachers are excellent and have a good amount of patience with the students!
Steve S — Google review
Great place for the kids to expend some energy on a sat doing circus fun! Rumbling, tumbling, balance, bouncing, listening to instructions, becoming more brave and making new mates also a nice place for parents to sit n watch. No photos or videos unfortunately, for privacy which is a great rule with kids. If you're a NSW resident you can use both active and creative vouchers but only 1 per kid per term. My kids are 4 and 5 but they have 2 sessions on sat for different age groups.

We went to the Tempo performance in the Opera House. I was simply speechless. It was an extraordinary performance with many jaw dropping moments. Absolutely fantastic.

We love the children's circus classes. The kids are fully engaged for an hour with fun and energetic coaches. The facilities are incredible. A wonderful asset to the area.

Its a great place for kids and adults to learn new skills. They have wonderful trainers and friendly staff to walk you through the Circus explaining things.

Nestled along the picturesque banks of the Murray River lies Albury Wodonga, a hidden gem often overlooked by travelers en route to Melbourne. However, it’s not just a pit stop; it's home to Albury Family Dental, where exceptional care awaits. Many visitors have shared their positive experiences at this practice, especially when faced with urgent dental issues like cracked teeth or severe toothaches.
Sophie was seriously amazing, she is highly knowledgeable and extremely friendly, best experience I have ever had at a dentist! All staff at Albury Family Dental are very welcoming. Highly recommend and wouldn't go anywhere else!

I took my 4-year-old son to Albury Family Dental Clinic for a tooth extraction this afternoon, and we had such a positive experience. Jackie was amazing — so patient and kind. She really took the time to make my little guy feel comfortable and safe the whole way through. He was a bit nervous at first, but Jackie talked him through everything in a child-led, gentle way, and he ended up doing great. The whole team was friendly and the clinic had a really warm, welcoming vibe. I would definitely recommend Albury Family Dental if you're looking for a great Dental clinic for child!
Rebecca W — Google review
Amazing service by all staff, every-time. Special mention to Jess - my 6 year old ND son loves going to the dentist due to her friendly and caring approach. She also takes the time to listen to parent concerns & gives great advice re: oral health. Happy customer 🙂

I have been to see Dr Nick at Albury Family Dental a few times over the past few years. I used to be afraid to go and get my teeth checked and worked on due to my anxiety. Most notably, I had a panic attack while in the chair and Dr Nick identified it, did not make me feel uncomfortable or silly and patiently waited for it to pass. He has been very friendly, gentle and honest during each appointment. I have now managed to have two wisdom teeth pulled and fillings inserted. The fear of going to the dentist is slowly subsiding with every positive experience. I will continue to attend this clinic, recommend it to everyone and also bring my daughter when the time comes.

Fantastic first experience after needing to come in for a last minute cracked tooth. Great kids room to keep kids entertained while waiting for other parents to get seen to, I would say this would be an excellent space for any children to calm before going in (I think I will be returning with kids now as future dentist). Dentist took care of issue without needing to return for a 2nd appointment (thankful to not get run around like previous local dentists have done to us in the past and wasted our time). Pricing was fair and on point in my opinion. Experience in the chair with dentist was great client care and listened well. Would reccomend here to anyone looking for a dentist, pretty sure our whole family will be using this dentist in the future.

Jackie and the team were fantastic ! Very patient with my toddler making sure we were comfortable and really listened to our concerns. Very family friendly environment too !
Tahlia B — Google review
They may offer free dental for kids but I found the $50 same day cancellation fee off-putting for a dentist recommended as family friendly.
Tina L — Google review
Big Thanks to Jess 😃 My 6yo was a tad nervous for his appointment but once he saw Jess her professional, calming and caring self put him straight into the chair and straight to ease along with a bit of Netflix….he chilled! He has a happy smile and said he won’t be nervous for the next checkup! Thanks Jess 😁

Monument Hill Parklands is a serene and well-maintained observation area that offers incredible views of Albury. The park features memorials from both World War I and II, making it a meaningful destination for military history enthusiasts. There are walking tracks throughout the park, which provide visitors with the opportunity to explore the natural surroundings while enjoying peaceful moments. Monument Hill Parklands also has restroom facilities available for visitors' convenience.
I agree, this a must visit location in Albury with the Services Memorial at its centre. The memorial is well maintained and is a great location to look over Albury. You can drive right to the top and enjoy the view or get some exercise done on one of the many trails around the hill. There’s a milk bar on the way up to the summit to enjoy.

This is a stunning destination where you can unwind and fully embrace the joy of being present. It's the perfect escape to refresh your spirit and soak in the beauty around you.

A beautiful spot whether your a tourist or a local. Great views of Albury/Wodonga. Most of all its our War Memorial site. I hadn't been there in 15yrs and what a change. It's more than a monument. There are plarks for all the different wars Australians have fought at. The ANZAC Day area is all done in exposed concrete and the monument is shining in bright white. Picnic areas are fantastic and there are many to choose from. The view right to the end of Dean Street always looks great. Beautiful site to visit as well at night.
Leanne A — Google review
Nice place to relax and reflect. Easily accessible by car. Public toilet available. Overlooks Albury.

Good area to visit if you stay for couple of days in Albury. You can either hike up or drive all the way up here. Parking around the Monument. Can have eye-bird view of Albury from this hill. Probably best during sunset or sunrise. Very well maintained with toilet facility and some tables and benches for resting or picnic. There are walks starting from this hill too but we didnt do any.
Trang N — Google review
A really thoughtful military monument that is well worth the visit. Do yourself a healthy favour and take the walk up the hill from the township (you can drive up if walking is not an option for you). As well as the monument itself you get some great views of the Albury township and surrounds.

Oddies Creek Park is a well-appointed park located in Albury, just across the Murray River from Victoria. It features grassy spaces, mature gum trees, and various attractions such as Noreuil Park Oval, The Hovell Tree, Wood Fired Ovens, and the Wagirra Trail. One of its main highlights is the Oddies Creek Adventure Playspace which draws over 100,000 visitors annually.
Awesome park for families especially those parents who like to play on their phone knowing the kids are fenced in. BBQ toilets water watch out for the Mosquito warnings we use Vaseline intensive care cream with aloe vera best . Great park for all ages.

An excellent playground facility for children that is inclusive for those with mobility issues. This playground is fully fenced, with plenty for kids to see and do. Multiple sensory style stimuli such as musical pipes and "speak and hear" two way speakers. It sprawls over many different designated areas, including multiple sets of swings (so no one misses out!) A stand out for us was the castle that included both ramps and mini staircases throughout from the bottom to the top. This was perfect for our toddler who is still learning the mechanics of stairs and ladders in a safe and controlled environment. Plenty of shade and parking, plus seating for parents to take a breather.

Great park for all ages. My 6 and 7 year old had a ball! Next time I'll bring some meat for the barbies.... heaps of barbecues available and toilets too. Well constructed Very large area

Beautiful play area. Best I've seen... probably ever. We are just passing through and the place is huge and safe and clean and there's sooooo .any things for kids to do it's wonderful to just let them run and play and burn off energy!!

Great park, this section of the park called the Oddies Creek park has more action for the kids. They will just love this playground with plenty of fun apparatus & activities available. Oddies Creek park is also located right beside Noreuil Park foreshore, along the banks of Murray River. There are facilities for bbq, picnic, canoeing, fishing, walking etc. Plenty of parking and clean wash rooms are available along with a Cafe for the visitors convenience.

Nice new park, works were disrupted by the flooding so parts of it are still under construction. Really well loved by the community, the planting choices are really lovely and the equipment is plentiful - gated play area so would be helpful for parents within the area and there seems to be equipment for kids of all ages, a bouldering wall and many timber play structures
Genevieve M — Google review
This park is huge and is a great place for family. Probably, kids would have crazy moment right here .

Truly amazing playground. This is one of the biggest and best playgrounds we've come across and definitely a great stop if visiting Albury. There are 2 giant cubby house style constructions. The main one had zig zagging walkways winding up to the top. Due to its massive size my 4 year old became lost in it and at first found it hard to find me again. It didn't stop her though as she continued exploring all it had to offer. Her favourite place was a hidden ladder from the top of the cubby house that went all the way down into the underground section. That's right, this playground has an underground section that the kids absolutely loved! My 10year old loved the net swing that rotated as it swung from side to side. It was near impossible to get him off it. There's a great rock climbing section too. Just keep any eye out as lots of kids could climb up easily, but found it hard to get back down. Other things on offer at playground: - flying fox - large sand pit - multiple slides - musical equipment - hidden path of trees - two rope climbing frames We visited this playground 3 times during our 4 days in Albury and my daughter cried everytime we had to leave. We arrived by 8:30am each day and there were a few families already there. By 10am it was filled with familes so it's best to go early. What's nearby: -Noreuil park Foreshore walk and playground. - open parklands with BBQs
