(Translated by Google) Thanks to nun Feosinya I managed to visit the island, it's very quiet and peaceful, you feel grace there. I couldn't resist trying the local Cahors wine, they make it right next to the church. It was delicious. Oh yeah, there's also a donkey named Mikola living there, I don't know, that's a strange name for a donkey, and a couple of rabbits. I was surprised by the jet ski on the pier, I hope the nuns don't ride it around the bay:)) I didn't ask, it was kind of scary😝 (Original)

The Bay of Kotor, often likened to a fjord, is a stunning natural wonder surrounded by rugged cliffs and charming towns. The historic town of Kotor, nestled within the bay, boasts well-preserved Baroque architecture and holds UNESCO World Heritage status. Perast, strategically positioned at the bay's entrance, was once a vital maritime center and is home to the Church of Our Lady of the Rocks on an artificial island.
One of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen!!!! You have to visit and just drive round and enjoy the scenery!

Went on a solo trip and booked an excursion to see the island in its entirety. Stopped at Bay of Kotor, and this place is beautiful. This is a must do as tourists from cruise ships and normal holiday makers swamped this stunning Bay. Restaurants and souvenir shops were abundant, and it was nice to pass the time in this amazing place.

Great place, stunning views. A must go if in Montenegro. Loads of boat tours to choose from! Visited the Church Our Lady of the Rocks, the Blue Cave, and the Ex-submarine base.
Benjamin M — Google review
It doesn't really surprise me that the Bay of Kotor is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Although very touristy, the bay is definitely worth a visit. The towns and villages around the bay, especially Herceg Novi, Tivat, Perast and Kotor, have many beautiful sights to offer, and of course a boat trip across the bay should not be missing from the to-do list. The views of the bay and the surrounding mountains are especially beautiful from the water. In short, the Bay of Kotor has a lot to offer the visitor!

This bay is awesome. We had a speedboat cruise and it was great. The view of the bay from the mountains is amazing. You have to see the bay from different places.
Hubert — Google review
The site belongs to the UNESCO list and one can right away see why. Very close to Dubrovnik, it offers stunning views and is a bit less over touristic, though still very touristic. Views from up the hill are worse the quite demanding hike... or you can take a car or bike up the serpentine.

Saint Tryphon's Cathedral, located in Kotor, Montenegro, is a Romanesque Catholic church dating back to 1166. The cathedral houses a collection of gold and silver religious relics as well as stunning frescoes. It is one of only two Roman Catholic cathedrals in Montenegro and is dedicated to the town's patron saint. The cathedral has undergone several reconstructions due to earthquakes over the centuries but still retains its Romanesque architecture inside.
Saint Tryphon's Cathedral is located in the v center of the Kotor Old town. It was built in 1166 and one of Montenegro's picturesque sites. It has been reconstructed several times after several earthquakes. In the earthquake in 1667, the entire frontage was destroyed, it was reconstructed with addition of the baroque bell towers. Worth visiting it.

Beautiful cathedral. Some of the paintings in the walls resisted the earthquakes and have an interesting orthodox style, very rare to see in a Roman Catholic church.

Patrice O — Google review
This time we visit the Roman Catholic cathedral, one of only two in Montenegro. Built on the site of a church dating back to 809, it has never been completely destroyed, despite numerous earthquakes, and its structure has changed each time it has been rebuilt. The interior is simple, devoid of opulence, gold, or jewels.

Built on the site of the earlier church (809 by Andrija (Andreaccio) Saracenis), the cathedral was consecrated on 19 June 1166. Was seriously damaged and rebuilt after the 1667 Dubrovnik earthquake.

They charge a 4 euro donation to enter. They don't allow anyone without a guide to enter. Just in case, I returned two hours later, but still many people were unable to enter. They should just charge an entrance fee. And pay taxes, too.

Saint Nicholas’ Church is a Serbian Orthodox church in Kotor, built in 1909. It stands out with its twin domes and the Serbian flag displayed prominently. Unlike other Christian churches, it doesn't have pews and features an ornate iconostasis. Visitors can climb the bell tower for panoramic views of the city and the Bay of Kotor. The church also houses valuable religious artifacts and offers a mystical atmosphere with its impressive architecture.
This Serbian Orthodox church was completed in 1909. It replaced the previous church on this site which burnt down on Christmas Eve of 1896. There is a small stall on the left as you enter selling religious icons that are very well made and at a decent price.

St. Nicholas is a nice charming church of a solid looking structure on the outside and beautifully decorated on the inside, too. On the entrance, it felt like a souvenir shop than a church is my only complaint. There are some cute cats strolling around this church as well. Beautiful square and the incredible mountains all around.

St. Nicholas Church is one of the most important religious landmarks in Kotor, Montenegro. Located in the heart of the Old Town, this Serbian Orthodox church was built in 1909 and stands out with its impressive twin bell towers and striking black domes. Inside, visitors can admire beautiful frescoes, ornate chandeliers, and a stunning iconostasis. The church is a peaceful place to experience Kotor’s spiritual heritage and learn about its diverse cultural influences. Entry is free, but remember to dress respectfully. Visiting in the morning offers a quieter experience, allowing you to fully appreciate its serene atmosphere.

A suvenier shop and a church in the same room felt a luttle weird for me.. But the building is pretty from the inside and from the outside, and there are beautiful paintings on the walls.
Yonadav V — Google review
It is definitely worth visiting this over 100-year-old church, if only for its many icons (iconostasis).
Lucca T — Google review
Yep. I do not like this church. Although there is no entrance fee here, the biggest problem I see is they put the souvenir shop inside the church! Whatda? Being a church or so they call it Saint Nicholas' church, don't they read the bible? Please allow me to read that passage to refresh their mind, from the book of Matthew Chapter 21, verse 12 to 13 it says "And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called THE HOUSE OF PRAYER, but ye have made it a den of thieves". I think Jesus will definitely be disappointed with this church, and I also noticed that I see less of Jesus in this church and more of the saints. I hope by now, everyone should understand that no one is bigger than Jesus, and whatever happens Jesus loves you and with a love like that, you know you should be..... glad! Yeah (7x)

The Church of St. Nicholas in Kotor, Montenegro, stands as a striking Serbian Orthodox landmark in the heart of the Old Town. This church was rebuilt between 1902 and 1909 after a fire in 1896. Dedicated to the revered protector of sailors and travelers, this architectural gem blends Byzantine-Rashka influences with a great facade, ornate frescoes, and four massive canvases despicting the Gospel writers. It is a must-visit for those wandering the medieval streets.

The Church of St. Mary Collegiate, dating back to the 13th century, is a significant religious site in Kotor's Old Town. It was constructed on the foundation of an ancient Christian church and features alternating rows of delicate pink and grey stone. The church also boasts a beautiful tall Bell Tower that can be seen from outside the fortress walls. Visitors can explore its interior for a fee, which grants access to medieval and Renaissance religious artifacts within the museum.
The entrance to the museum costs 4€. At first we wouldn't pay for it, but then we read a comment here that persuaded us, that that is a good use of money. I haven't regretted this, as there is really something to see, especially if you are interested in Medieval and Renaissance history of religion.

The Church of Our Lady of Remedy, also known as the Church of Lady of Health, is a significant site in Kotor with a compelling history. It was constructed by sailors who survived a storm and attributed their survival to the intercession of the Virgin Mary. The church is part of Kotor's Old Town, which has been occupied by various civilizations throughout history. Visitors can explore sections of the old town wall, including bastions and towers that offer panoramic views.
Perfect view of Kotor. We arrived just in time for sunset and it was really beautiful. The climb up the stairs is a bit difficult but when you get to the top and see the whole bay, you relax.
Saar P — Google review
A great spot to see overview of Kotor. It had an entrance fee of 15 Euros which I think was overpriced. The church on top was closed and I think it does not operate anymore. There are a lot of ruins in the area and the climb to top was really hard and dangerous. The route lacks safety barriers that will prevent a person falling off the edge of the cliff. It lacked directional arrows also so most of the time you will get lost or wandering around due to multiple passages that will lead to a dead end or back from where you are. There is a stairway but it is too narrow as it can only fit 1 person at a time so you will end up climbing on the rocky paths if you meet someone opposite your way. I do not recommend this for old people specially when the sun is scorching hot. I did not see any comfort rooms also and that is maybe the reason why I can smell urine almost everywhere, people just have to relieve themselves on hidden areas due to the absence of comfort rooms. I hope they improve this place, for the price they charge for the entrance fee, they should start renovating the place by keeping it tidy and removing the vandalisms.

Great hike, worth going all the way to the fortress but this is a much shorter walk. It's free in the evenings after 8pm or €15 each in the day. Spectacular views.
Tim H — Google review
One of the best viewpoints along the path to the top. A lot of travel magazines and websites use this view with church and trail to promote kotor. Really stunning views and if you are not going to the top definitely consider coming up to here.
Anthony C — Google review
What an amazing hike we did and had a rest in front of this church. It provided us a great shade and nice breeze coming from the bay. It was worth a climb. The gov’t should develop this site. Need more restrooms and resting areas so people can enjoy the hike and view more. Clean the areas where people relieved themselves as you can smell it from afar and it’s not very nice. You don’t want to be put of just because of this. Catch the people who do the vandalism and littering.
Vivien E — Google review
The church looks beautiful from the bottom. Ticket is necessary to get to the church and fortress - 15€ To get to the church is ~15min uphill and ~40 to the fortress
Alex S — Google review
Church of Our Lady of Remedy – Kotor’s Sky-High Sanctuary Halfway up the 1,350-step fortress trail, the tiny 16th-century Church of Our Lady of Remedy clings to the cliff like a prayer carved in stone, its ochre bell tower rising solitary above a sea of cypress and golden fig. Built by grateful sailors who survived plague and storm, this humble chapel offers no grand nave—only a cool, shadowed interior where candlelight flickers on faded frescoes and the Virgin’s gentle gaze meets the breathless pilgrim. Step outside and the reward unfurls: Kotor’s red-tiled labyrinth spills beneath you, cradled by the fjord’s mirror-calm waters and the jagged embrace of Lovćen. At sunset, the sky ignites in rose and amber, and the church bell tolls once—soft, silver, eternal—reminding every heart below that grace is found in the climb. Bring water, wear good shoes, and let the view steal your breath twice.

Monastery
The monastery Манастир Михољска Превлака - Светог Арханђела Михаила is a stunning and sacred location, filled with warm-hearted individuals. However, it is advisable not to visit without an invitation or a significant reason due to their strict schedule. This beautiful place in Montenegro offers breathtaking views and immense potential but has unfortunately been underdeveloped and left to deteriorate.
Beautiful monastery, very peaceful and with a great view. The road is very narrow so drive carefully.

A beautiful monastery and grounds , selling excellent delicacies such as wine, olive oil , honey and much more . Also a very informative and helpful man working in the shop who also speaks English

Like pretty much everything in Montenegro: wonderful nature and huge potential, unfortunately underdeveloped and left to degrade. Great view nevertheless.

Monastery on an island, accessible by car, parking lots near the monastery.
Bora K — Google review
The center of the peninsula (the main road, not the left one by the water) is scary, like plague was here a time ago. Could be a decoration for the horror-movie. I was afraid and went back to the left road towards the monastery. Nobody took care for the surroundings for a long time :(

Catholic church
Church of Our Lady of Angels is located at the south-eastern cape of the strait in Verige, Montenegro. The church dates back to earlier than 1585 and underwent significant restorations in that year as well as in 1654. It was strategically fortified by the landowners of Perast in 1585 for defense purposes.
Very beautiful place, we came there just as the sailing yacht was entering the bay, it's an amazing view.

Easy stop with free parking across the street. Watch yourself crossing street since it’s at a bend in the road. Great views across the bay and very photogenic. Just need a few minutes for the stop. Free

We canoed to this place , we sat above this place near the road. It doesn’t matter how many times I visit Kotor this is the best place for me. Also fantastic panaromic wiev.
Ender E — Google review
A small, modest old church from the 16th century, dedicated to the Virgin Mary, Queen of Angels. It is located in an extremely picturesque place on a steep cliff at the entrance to the Verige Strait from the Risan-Kotor Bay. The cape on which the church is located offers a magnificent view of the bay with the islands of St George and Lady on the Rock and the town of Perast on the opposite side of the bay. Nearby, in the shadow of the cliff, there is a small and secluded wild beach with clear and clean water, where you can go swimming, diving or just commune with nature.

Caffe Bar Regata is a hidden gem that perfectly captures the essence of relaxation and socializing. Nestled away, this cozy spot boasts a stunning sea view terrace where you can unwind with friends while enjoying the vibrant atmosphere filled with nostalgic tunes from the 80s and 90s. Although it can get lively, especially during sunset, it's an ideal place for those who love to mingle.
I can confirm it is a cosy place and relaxed atmosphere with seaview terrace. A good place to meet up and watch the sunset. On first floor with seperate male and female toilets. No meals are served here but you can bring your own.
Anthony M — Google review
A cool place where you can find young-spirited individuals and people with a passion for sailing on their minds is a must-visit spot. The music playing is from the 80s and 90s, creating an amazing ambiance during sunset. It can get crowded, but if you enjoy socializing with friends, I highly recommend it. It's a haven for fun and cheers.

Hard to find. You need to take the stairs but then it's absolutely worth it. Nice ice coffee with different flavors (hazelnut, caramel, chocolate, vanilla) and great ice teas. Stunning view! You can't pay by card.

Great place to chill and have a drink while enjoying the beautiful sea view. Place where locals like to have a cup of coffee or beer.
Jovan R — Google review
I was riding with humans but also animals ( cats ) and we looking for a place to drink and also to protect ourself from a storm… We are riders, but not riders on the storm. The people of this, we have to admit it, beautiful place, dont accept us because we were with one or two animals. I can understand they dont like animals but they say everywhere they love animals and they accept pets, even bears ! Because of them, we were not only riders but riders on a storm, with animals scared because of the storm… No good. So its a beautiful place, with not honnest people.

St. Paul's Church in Old Town Kotor has a rich history, originally built as a Romanesque church and later reconstructed. The church features fragments of 15th-century frescoes and serves as a museum showcasing ancient artifacts found in the area. Visitors can explore digitally restored portraits of ancient people and learn about the Blessed Ossanna. The church also offers accessibility with a lift for disabled individuals.
A really interesting exhibition about work done to photograph and research the caves in the area around the bay by geographers in the early c.20. The colourised photos are especially lovely. The use of the old church is also a great touch. Maybe not worth the individual entrance cost, unless it’s especially in your field of interest, but the bundle ticket with the two other sites in Kotor and two others nearby along the bay (5 sites for 15€) made it reasonable to us!
Amy W — Google review
Nice church from the outside in a beautiful square overlooking the mountains but 5 Euros to see few things, not worth the toyrist trap admission price!!!
Buster I — Google review
Nice museum though a very small one. The exposition is basically the church itself, a lot of stones and some old building elements lying outside. Inside of the church you can see gypsum (?) copies of several pieces found in the tumulus like jewelry and a spear. You can also look at digitally restored portraits of ancient people whose remains were found on the tumulus. Good news are: for 5€ you get tickets for 3 places: this church + 2 more museums located also in the old town.
Oksana A — Google review
Its nice to stroll around if you are into history and museum. Dont expect an impressive and ancient church for this. Compared to other churches in Europe, this one is pretty so so.
Trang N — Google review
If you want to spend 5€ for 10 minutes of your time you could visit this place. I won’t reccomend it because there is very little to see and taking the price into account the value for money is horrible. Sometimes they think they could charge the tourists every price, they will still pay. It looked like museum from outside, the only thing you can see is the inside of the church. Totally not worth it. 0,50€ or maximum 1€ would be worth considering it.
Thom S — Google review
Well preserved historical building
Kris P — Google review
Neat little church/museum with a bust of the Roman Emperor Domitian. Entrance fee gets you in a couple of other church/museums too.
Deeze03 — Google review
Impressive small church with lots of history. Do not expect an old inside, it is modern in white with exhibitions. But lots of history around blessed Ossanna and a nice place to stroll around

Buća Palace, located across from the impressive Prima Palace in the square, is a striking Gothic structure built in the early 15th century. It was once owned by the influential Buća family, who had ties to the French Court. The family's coat of arms featuring a lily, emblematic of French royalty, further attests to their connections.

Chapel Lady Mary and St Michael is located on the Island of Flowers in the Bay of Tivat. The chapel was built in the 17th century near the Church of St. Cross by the Bucha family. It is a small building, measuring only 6-7 square meters, and despite its current state of neglect, its inscriptions and reliefs remain intact.
(Translated by Google) A completely destroyed small church, but on it the coat of arms with a hedgehog, an angel with a scroll, a memorial plaque and arm consoles are perfectly preserved. I won’t attach photos, they’re all already here. (Original) Совсем разрушенная маленькая церковка, но на ней отлично сохранились герб с ежом, ангел со свитком, памятная табличка и консоли-руки. Фотки прикладывать не буду, они и так уже все тут есть.
Yaroslav B — Google review
(Translated by Google) It is a tiny building measuring 6-7 square meters. Even though it has fallen into ruin due to neglect, its inscriptions and reliefs are still standing as intact as the first day. I hope it will be opened for worship with landscaping and good restoration. You can reach it by car. 🙂
