we came to polignano a mare to eat, apparently. first stop of our “polignano food tour” was this coffee shop. my friends told me i absolutely had to try their “special coffee.” i asked multiple times what it was, but they just said, “you’ll see.” so i ordered it. we got three, one each, and somehow managed to grab a booth in the middle of the very busy café. clearly this “special coffee” is their thing. i finally tried it and i have to say, i was surprised. if i remember correctly, it’s made with coffee, whipped cream, amaretto, and lemon juice. sounds weird, right? but the combo actually works. creamy, bitter, sweet, and acidic all at once. hard to describe, but definitely worth trying if you’re ever in the area.

Very Italian experience:) coffee speciale was tasty and worth trying. If you want feel that real Italian coffee shop you need to visit.

Very typical old bar but their food is amazing. My husband loved their caffe speciale which is very popular not only tourists but also the locals.

The must visit place in Polignano! Best cappuccino, special coffee and pastry in my life!!! The pastry was full of custard! The croissant with Nutella was so fresh, melted in my mouth. Special coffee is espresso shot with nice cream, amaretto and lemon. So much flavor! Very authentic and nostalgic interior. There are pictures of the owner with different stars whose visited the place (Britney Spears etc).

I ordered a cup with one scoop of amarena and one scoop of caffe. They brought me a cup with one scoop of pistachio on the bottom and a scoop of amarena on top. After telling them that I did not order pistacchio, instead of getting me a new cup and two new scoops of icecream, all they did was try to remove the bottom scoop of pistacchio and leave the original top scoop of amarena (now on the bottom), and then put a new scoop of caffe on top, and served it in the same original cup, that was covered in pistacchio. Obviously, there was alot of pistacchio icecream and residue left over (as you can see in the photos) which I did not want or ask for. Why not just give me a new cup with two new scoops of icecream? Very cheap and scamlike.

Millennium Café Great location—right near the local Sunday market, which makes it a perfect stop while you’re out exploring. The ice cream is pretty average, but the atmosphere and setting more than make up for it. Ideal for a relaxed coffee break, especially if you’re in the area already. Worth popping in for a quick rest and refresh.

You have to try the tette delle monache here! This pastry is like an angel food cake filled with chantilly cream. Millennium Cafe is also a nice place to stop if you need a quick cappuccino while exploring.

It’s a lovely spot on a great street for some small drinks and nibbles. I had a Jefferson and an Espresso and it was delicious and well priced. The waiter was really polite and helpful which was so nice. It’s a great place to people watch. When I tried to pay they simply pretended I wasn’t there, they ignored me over and over. I stood two feet from them politely with my card and they chatted and chatted in an almost battle of attrition whereby they would not acknowledge me unless I begged them to do so. This was led by (I presume) the owner who was a striking looking glamorous woman with curly hair. It was such a sad horrid end to a nice experience. I guess they hate tourists, which is fine, other than the fact they own a tourist wine bar?! Bravo glamorous owner! 👏🏻

The place was nice, but the food was not that nice — we ordered toast, and it came with moldy bread. We refused it and decided not to order anything else. It took some time for them to understand, but they eventually agreed and didn't charge us for the toast.

The service was nice and I really like the fried bun filled (kraften) with your choice of filling (mine was Nutella). You can get freshly squeezed orange juice too. The chocolate log wasn’t great though. And the toilet door doesn’t locked so get Simone to stand guard. :D Overall, it was a nice bar or what we would called cafe. ☕️

Love this place sooo much! It is the authentic italian cafe bar. You will find good coffee, excellent pastries and sweets(especially the croissants and tiramisu). The atmosphere is also very authentic and the service is great, with very friendly staff.

We had lunch here the place was not too busy , we had to wait 20 minutes to get served and 20 minutes for the salads and drinks to arrive The staff seemed so disorganized and very distracted When the food came eventually it was good. The bill had a 20% service charge which was a joke we have eaten in many cafes / restaurants but this has to be one of the worst for service, get new staff and the place may redeem itself but for now stay away, . P.S the toilets are a mess , so unclean. This place gives the area a really bad name.

Breakfast was average, we had to wait a long time for everything. The entire garden seating area was served by only two people, and the staff was completely stressed out. The service was quite lacking. One toilet for all men and women, dirty. We definitely didn't experience the relaxed Italian atmosphere here.

Nothing worth writing about. Service is bad as they are so busy and need more staff. Coffee comes with it split half over the saucer. Menu is only in Italian so have to translate but that is ok. Wouldn’t go back here.

I hate to be cliché but my husband and I agreed this was the best gelato we’d ever had. So much flavour, really creamy and not at all heavy or artificial. The shop is in a great spot, (un)fortunately not far from our accommodation so we’ll be tempted in every day.

Ice cream is my guilty pleasure, and this is the best ice cream I’ve eaten in my whole life. (And yes, we’ve tried multiple places in Italy - this place is hands down the best so far).

It’s a great spot for a morning breakfast with bright welcoming decor.

Very rude service!!! We have visited the caffe and polite have asking for a table, there was not a free table and we have to wait for it. One couple just release the table and we have asked if it is free. We have been told that the table is under other reservation which obviously was it a brutal lie. We have asked the waiter “old blond lady” Why is lying and she has said “doesnt understand us(another brutal lie) Do NoT RECOMMEND AT ALL!!!

Beautiful restyled coffee bar (see my new photos) with comfortable seats and places to stand at the bar. We came there in the morning for breakfast, offered by the B&B in the same street. Friendly staff, delicious coffee and a wide choice of sweets, highly recommended.
