At Patna Museum, the celebration of Chhath Puja is beautifully depicted through vibrant displays and exhibits. The artwork captures devotees offering arghya to the rising and setting sun, symbolizing faith, purity, and gratitude. It reflects Bihar’s deep cultural roots, showcasing the devotion and heritage of this unique festival.
I was really excited to visit the Patna Museum. However, I didn't find the visit worth it. The collection they have was mostly on the theme of Ganga, different regions of Bihar and their cultural significance and Buddhism. Themewise I liked the museum, unfortunately almost all of the statues, portraits or curated items are replicas. I didn't go all the way to see just replicas and images.
Though it can be q good outing day, the museum is clean, well organized, has a good cafe. There was also a special exhibition of Latin American countries and Indian relation to decolonisation.
The building itself is aesthetically pleasing and well maintained. If you have two extra hours in Patna, a short trip might be worth it.

The museum also houses a modern extension, the Bihar Museum, where more contemporary exhibits are displayed. The peaceful ambiance, combined with the wealth of knowledge the museum offers, made my visit truly memorable.

Great place to visit with friends and family. A canteen should be there inside premises. The inappropriate activities of couples are strictly guarded.
It is worthy to go visit there. A beautiful garden with clean environment. The meditation centre is so peaceful. Library there, was having Books about Buddha and his teachings, scripts and many more. Also the museum, decorated with pictures and the historical monuments and tools. There are also many more things that I've not mentioned. So, go and visit yourself.

I recently visited Takht Sri Harmandir Ji Saheb (Patna Sahib) with my family after a long time and it was a deeply peaceful and spiritual experience. The Gurudwara is beautifully maintained — the white marble, golden domes, and serene atmosphere fill you with calm. Knowing it’s the birthplace of Guru Gobind Singh Ji made the visit even more special.
The Langar was simple and delicious, served with great devotion.
However, one thing that didn’t feel right was being asked to join both hands while receiving roti — it almost gave a feeling of being treated like a beggar rather than a devotee. I completely understand the intent of humility, but perhaps this could be done in a more respectful way.
Overall, it’s a divine place that fills you with peace and positivity. A must-visit for anyone coming to Patna. 🙏

Sorry I have no picture to show you but believe me there are many exciting things to watch and yoy will really enjoy that😊 And you can also watch 3d show not advance like tara mandal but you will enjoy it as it is cheap. Entry fee was rs 50 rupees and for different show different rupees.
You must explore this place with your kids. You can go for 3D show. Do not forget to explore kid zone. Kids may enjoy a full day over here

Nd kids also ,This place is very good for people who love science. There are many things which you can enjoy with your family here. There are Planetarium And 3-D Shows here. The ticket fee is ₹50 for entry and for watching any show. Also, it has a kids zone for children and a Jurrasic Park themed space. Many scientists related info is also installed in the hall

Sanjay Gandhi Biological Park, also known as Patna Zoo, is a sprawling zoological park and gardens that opened to the public in 1973. Spanning across a vast expanse of 153 hectares, it is home to over 800 animals from more than 110 species, including rare and endangered ones like the Royal Bengal tiger, chimpanzees, hippopotamus, giraffe, rhinoceros, zebra, crocodile, gharial and leopard.
I visited this place during the summer season but the best time to visit during the winter season. We enjoyed it a lot and got to Chance to see many animals like Black Panther, Giraffe, Zebra, White tiger, white peacock, Chimpanzee, Elephant, Fish aquarium and many more. It's the best place to visit on weekdays because it was less crowded. So overall a great experience.

Visited Sanjay Gandhi Zoological Park (Patna Zoo) with my kids, and we all had a lovely time! The place is full of greenery, well-maintained walking paths, and a good variety of animals and birds. My kids really enjoyed watching the tigers ,snakes,Bear etc the toy train ride not functional
We went on 6th October — technically winter hasn’t started yet 😄 — but still, the zoo followed winter timing and closed at 4:30 PM instead of 5:30 PM, so plan your visit accordingly. The boating area and shaded sitting spots are nice for a short break.
Overall, it’s a refreshing place for families and kids to spend a few peaceful hours in nature. A bit of improvement in food stalls and some enclosures would make it even better. 🌳🦓🐅

I recently visited the Bihar Museum in Patna and was truly impressed by the richness it offers. The museum is a beautiful blend of Bihar's historical and cultural heritage, featuring a wide range of artifacts and displays that narrate the glorious past of the region.
One of the highlights was a short yet powerful 11-minute show that presents the history of Bihar in a captivating way. Right after the entrance, there’s a help desk to guide you through the museum.
**They don't allow water bottles inside. Better you drop it outside.
**Closed on Mondays.
Ticket pricing is reasonable:
₹100 for Indian adults
₹50 for Indian children
₹500 for international adults
₹250 for international children
₹25 per person for school tour groups
The museum is also visitor-friendly with excellent amenities such as first aid, baby care centre, wheelchair access, audio guides, clean restrooms, a baggage room, cafeteria, children’s retail section, museum shop, drinking water, lifts, and car parking facilities.
Though some parts of the museum are still under construction, it’s clear that exciting additions are on the way. Overall, a great place to explore the essence of Bihar and a perfect educational outing for all age groups!
A Must-Visit, Well-Organized Glimpse into Bihar's Rich History**
The Bihar Museum is an absolute gem and a fantastic place to understand the state's glorious past. It is incredibly clean, spacious, and very well-organized, making the visit comfortable and educational.
The collection is superb, beautifully showcasing the history of Bihar from ancient to modern times. It's a perfect destination for a family outing or a trip with friends. The entry ticket is very reasonably priced at ₹100 per adult (for Indian citizens).
A very important thing to note for planning your visit: the main history galleries start closing after 5:00 PM. Only the children's section remains open until 7:00 PM. So, make sure you arrive with plenty of time to see the main exhibits.
I highly recommend catching the 4:00 PM show (they also have shows at 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM, I believe), which is very well-made and engaging.
For food, there is a restaurant on-site with a menu book. The food is good, but be prepared as it is somewhat expensive. Before you leave, don't forget to check out the museum shop, which has a lovely collection of handmade items and souvenirs that you can purchase.
Overall, it's an excellent and highly recommended experience, definitely worth a visit.
Superb place for see the history of Bihar. You can go there with family or friends group. You can purchase the ticket only 100 rupees per person adult( for india). You can enjoy there 4 pm show also. For the foodies there is restaurant you can go there and eat which is in menu book. If you want to purchase some handmade things then you can purchase in shop. I like this place very much. But don't forget closing time is 5 pm better you reach there in morning around 11 am.

Nestled in the vibrant Bankipur area of Patna, Padri Ki Haveli is a remarkable church that beautifully showcases the rich tapestry of Bihar's history and culture. Known as the oldest church in the state, it was originally established by Roman Catholics in 1713 and later redesigned by Venetian architect Tirreto in 1772.
I usually visit this place as it's near my house and this has many things in it. It has a church, graveyard, a very big bell a maternity hospital, an orphanage and more. Also, only some people know about this place is that Mother Teresa got titled as nun here only. This place is in Patna City around a heavily populated and crowded area. BTW, this place gets filled with crowd during Christmas time. A good place to visit as needed.

One of the best places to visit in Patna is Padri Ki Haveli, or the Mansion of Padre, which is also known as Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary. A small church was built in 1713 by Roman Catholics in Bihar at a place now known as Padri-ki-Haveli. A Venetian architect redesigned the current church in 1772.
The bell was gifted to the Portuguese by the King of Nepal and is now in Bihar.

Beautiful.. Padri ki Haveli also known as St Mary’s Church, is the oldest church in Patna, and indeed, Bihar. While the church was first built in 1713, the structure that we see today was designed by a Venetian architect, Tirreto, in 1772. The church has withstood many attacks, including by Nawab Mir Qasim in 1763, and during the First War of Independence in 1857. Although the Gothic building has many modern touches, it is largely well preserved and is a must-visit for those interested in history and heritage monuments. Earlier known as Mangle’s tank, the lake was built in 1856-75 (though some say it is more than 200 years old). During the digging of the lake, an old brick wall was found which is thought to have been ruins of the ancient city of Pataliputra. A fair is held here on New Year’s Day, drawing as many as 10,000 revelers. The administration has plans to clean up the lake and develop it as a tourist destination with facilities for boating.

I picked up a CD of religious songs which were appreciated by friends of the family ( though i do not know Malyalam) . There is a nice reception hall for after the wedding , The parking and other facilities for visitors are well organised . One can offer prayers through the Qabool Prayer counter at a very reasonable price .

Gandhi Museum is a museum dedicated to the life history of Mahatma Gandhi, his various movements etc. This place is about 2.5 km from Patna Railway Station. No ticket is required to enter this place. It has writings, sculptures and various spinning machines that were used to make Khadi in those days. There is also a library inside the museum. If you are interested in Mahatma Gandhi's life and work and you are in Patna then you can visit this place.
The museum is within walking distance from Golghar. There is a section with photographs of Gandhi from his childhood to different stages of his life. A replica of his room is in the hall of the museum. The building also houses a library which has a rich collection of books, magazines, literature and audio-video materials related to the life of Mahatma Gandhi.

Patan Devi, also called Maa Patneshwari, is the oldest and one of the most sacred temples of Patna, Bihar. It is regarded as one of the 51 Siddha Shakti Pithas in India.
The Bari Patan Devi Temple, Patna is facing the North, towards the Ganges river. The statues of the temple are all made up in black stone.
According to the Hindu mythology, it is believed that the right thigh of Devi Sati fell in Magadh and it is said that the part of the body of Sati fell in both Maharajganj and Chowk areas in Old Patna city. At these places, the Badi Patan Devi temple and the Chhoti Patan Devi temple were built. Quila House is a private residential house on the banks of the Ganga river in the old town of Patna, in the state of Bihar, in northern India. Built in 1919, the house is known for the collection of objets d'art and antiques that is a personal achievement of Diwan Bahadur Radha Krishna Jalan (R.K. Jalan) (1882–1954), who was a businessman and an art collector. The building it is in the style of English and Dutch and is known locally as the Quila House.

Part of the building continues to be a private residential area of the Jalan family. The museum is open to visitors 9-11 am, Mondays to Saturdays, and 10 am - 4 pm on Sundays, though prior appointment, 48 hours before the visit is required.

A place to remind the existence of richness of bihar's history. Though most of the remains are still buried, it symbolises the prosperity of Patliputra. It's now converted to a park with some very old trees.

Pretty good one in the locality if you are looking to walk, jog or spend some time sitting on the green lush grass and what not. I started visiting this park for a walk from the past few days and liked it. However it becomes slightly crowded at peak hours but still it's a good one. Also they charge Rs.10 if you visit beyond morning hours and it's closed on Tuesdays.

I recently visited the ISKCON Temple in Patna and had a peaceful spiritual experience. The temple was quite crowded, which reflects the devotion and popularity of the place. Inside, there's a Prasad section, and for the general public, food stalls are also available on a pay-and-eat basis, which is quite convenient.
The temple is well-maintained, but it could have been more spacious to comfortably manage the large number of visitors. Photography and videography are strictly not allowed inside the temple premises, which helps maintain the sanctity of the place. Also, do note that the temple remains closed during the afternoon hours, so plan your visit accordingly.

Very close to the main city of Patna, there are many animals and birds to see as well as enjoying the natural beauty. However, the government should improve the maintenance and beauty of more parks.
I visited Patna Zoo recently. The place is big and green, but I was a little disappointed. There were not many animals to see – some cages were empty. Also, the zoo was not very clean. The washrooms and some walking areas need more care.
It’s a good place for a short walk or picnic, but if you are going just to see animals, you might not enjoy it fully. I hope they add more animals and improve the cleanliness soon. 😢

During my recent visit to Patna, I had the opportunity to explore the Chhoti Patan Devi Temple, a site steeped in history and religious significance. Located in the Chowk area of Patna City, this temple is considered one of the 51 Siddha Shakti Pithas, where, according to Puranic legends, the ‘right thigh’ of Goddess Sati fell when Lord Vishnu used his Sudarshan Chakra to cut her corpse. 
The temple complex, though not vast, exudes a serene and spiritual ambiance. The main sanctum houses the idols of Goddess Mahakali, Mahalakshmi, and Mahasaraswati, all intricately carved in black stone and adorned with traditional attire. These deities are believed to protect the city and its inhabitants, and their presence is deeply felt within the temple premises.
Historically, Chhoti Patan Devi was once considered the primary presiding deity of Patna, a status that has evolved over time. The current structure is believed to have been established by Man Singh, a general of Emperor Akbar, during the 16th-17th century, although remnants within the temple suggest the existence of an earlier medieval shrine dating back to the 9th-11th century. 
One of the most captivating aspects of my visit was learning about the temple’s association with the city’s name. It is widely believed that ‘Patna’ derives from ‘Patan Devi,’ highlighting the temple’s integral role in the region’s cultural and spiritual identity.

Great place in Patna to remember and learn more about Gautam Buddha. As there are not many places for couples in Patna, couples rules this place now. Even I saw families doing pre marriage discussion here, previously it was the Mahavir Temple. I wanted to make good videos of this stupa, but guards didn't allow it to happen. This stupa is just a part of the huge Buddha Smriti Park. If you wanna pay your visit to every location of park, you need to pay around ₹ 200. Price is high to reduce the crowd and there is very well maintenance of everything. Whole park has Bose Speakers which is continuously chanting BUDDHAM SARNAM GACHHAMI

Karuna Stupa infront of Mahavir Mandir at PATNA or Patna Junction. The stupa is made on land where jail was there previously. The stupa is in huge area in which there is museum,park, Fountains.There is also laser light show in evening.The stupa also has sitting space inside it for meditation or mental peace. There is also toilet facilities. The entry fee is also there i.e ₹40 for one time entry and there is no time limit to be there inside the campus. People can also sit on grassland and there is also sitting chair with open music in entire area. The park is well maintained and good to visit with friends and loved ones...

Beautiful and clean as compared to other parks in Patna: rhythmic music through small speakers make the atmosphere tranquil.
Evening's laser light show describes the rich history of Bihar and is beautiful for a cool time because of the dancing water, lighting and karaoke.
The library is also worth your time if you want to dig deeper into the realms of Buddhist culture though you can't get books issued, you can purchase or read there itself.
Meditation is free between 10 am to 5pm, 45minutes session: you can get a card also if you want to be regular and thus you won't need to purchase entry ticket everytime if you are interested in meditation only. Meditation focuses on anapan i.e, the basic of Vipassana :)
People interested in taking selfies can take it as an ideal spot as well because the lush green campus, idols of Buddha, pool of water, realms of Patna junction and Mahavir mandir from a distance makes it worth for your conscientious Facebook/ Instagram dp ;)
You can even go shopping for a spiritual friend in one of the blocks but the entry there needs another ticket.
No matter you are alone or with friends or family: this place is worth a one time visit if you are looking for some calm and low profile but memorable time.

No 1 couple's park in patna ...
Not good for summer others wise is sooo beautiful....
-Within the park lies a serene lake, perfect to enjoy boating.
-The park is dotted with swings and rides, which make it the perfect place to come with your little ones
-The Eco Park also contains a recreational zone where you can enjoy aqua zorbing.
-The “Cactus Smriti” is another famous attraction of this park which is an artwork made by Subodh Gupta using kitchen utensils like forks, spoons and bowls.
-The park also has a display board which exhibits the different stages of life of Lord Buddha,

As there was too much rush because of newly inaugurated highways and Marine Drive.
Great place to hangout with friends and family. The experience would have been better if the government would develop this area so that, the place remains clean. You can also go for a boat ride at a reasonable price. The view is nice and wind is refreshing.
It's a great place to see sunset in Patna. Dolfin may also be seen in Ganga from this place. I have seen twice the Dolfin in Ganga in my today's visit of this place. A number of boats may be watched sailing in the river Ganga. Wind blowing from the Ganga side seems polution free. Overall, I will suggest to be there in an evening and feel eternal peace of mind. Now a days Ganga Arti have also been performed at this place during sunset.

I will never understand how this place is so underrated. It has the best view point in the city to watch the sunset. I'm adding some pictures and a video. You can see how lovely, relaxing and soothing this place is. People play volleyball over here. Families come for a picnic. The place will pass the vibe check for almost everyone. Well one con is that, no availability of food around, just some icecream stalls.

Shahid Smarak Park, also known as Martyr's Memorial, is a poignant tribute to seven young freedom fighters who lost their lives during the Quit India Movement of 1942. The park features a bronze statue of these brave individuals holding the Indian national flag outside what is now the Secretariat Building in Patna. Despite their names not being widely recognized, this memorial serves as a powerful reminder of the sacrifices made for India's independence.
Shahid Smarak, Patna is a very popular & Land Mark of Patna. It's situated in East side of Bihar Vidhan Sabha. This place is known as memories of Seven Vir Young freedom fighters. A memorial programme is organised by State Government on 9th Augusta every year. That time whole premises is decorated with flowers and lights. Well maintained and neat & clean place. This place is visited by school children who come Patna from remote area of Bihar.

4 out of these 7 great freedom-fighters belongs to Kurmi community, viz. Ramgovind Singh (a railway station is named after him nearby Parsa bazar, patna), Shri Ramanand Singh, Shri Rajendra Singh and Ramphal Chaudhury. We always bow down to those great sons of India! This is a tourist place of Patna. There are statutes of 7 martyrs of India freedom movement in 1942. These 7 people killed by Britishers during hoisting Indian national flag on the top of the Bihar legislative building. Thess statutes are in memory of those people. The details of the person are written there. They were students of different schools and colleges of Bihar. Visit this place once you come to Patna.
Martyr's Memorial is located outside the Secretariat Building in Patna. It is a bronze statue of the seven freedom fighters holding the national flag. This is a memorial to seven brave students who sacrificed their lives in the Quit India Movement of August 1942. They were shot when they had attempted to hoist the national flag on the Secretariat building. All students were aged 1bout 15-16, studying in classes IX and X.
It was inaugurated by the first President of India, Dr. Rajendra Prasad in 1956. Later an adjacent park (near the Eastern gate of Secretariat), came up in 1997 .

Rajendra Smriti Sangrahalaya in Patna is a must-visit for history and politics enthusiasts. It's a dedicated museum showcasing the life and works of Dr. Rajendra Prasad, India's first President. Tucked behind a large mango orchard, this serene place offers a calm atmosphere away from the bustling city. With only 2-3 visitors per day, it's an ideal spot to immerse yourself in Dr.
Located behind a large mango orchard, this is a quite place right beside a busy road. It doesn't have many visitors, in a day, usually 2-3 people visit this place. So whenever you come to this place (between 11 AM to 5 PM on weekdays), you will find a calm atmosphere. When Rajendra Babu retired from his presidentship, he came to live here as he had not built any house for himself.
The building which we see today was build using donations from friends and well wishers as Nehru never allotted any residential building for his use. He was a patient of Asthama and doctors advised against living in a house with thatched roof. So through the efforts of J.P. Narayan this building was made. He spent his last three months in this building. Now it serves as a museum for artefacts that were gifted to him and some of his personal belongings.

It is a biographical museum related to Dr. Rajendra Prasad and his contributions in his freedom struggle. The simple life of our great leader has affected most. You can learn a great deal about the first President of India. Bihar government should pay attention to the poor maintenance of the Rajendra Smriti Sangrahalya.
