Art Museums
The Derby Museum & Art Gallery offers free entry to a modern space showcasing collections on regional natural and military history, as well as fine art. Established in 1882, the museum features a diverse range of artifacts representing Derby's rich past, including military, geological, natural, and archaeological history. Visitors can explore paintings by Joseph Wright of Derby and learn about his renowned portrayal of the industrial revolution in the Peak District.
Great free experience in Derby. Some really interesting things to see in here, with a number of different themed rooms over 3 floors. The staff helped us out and were really friendly and welcoming! Well worth a trip
Harry H — Google review
I really enjoyed my visit to Derby Museum. The archaeology section was full of interesting pieces and told the stories in a way that was easy to follow. The highlight for me was definitely Joseph Wright’s paintings, they were displayed beautifully and felt really special to see in person. The museum itself is easy to get around and has a nice mix of history and art. A great place to spend an afternoon.
Tiana M — Google review
Didn't know what a gem this was! Free entry for this place is mad. It has so much to see. There was art, taxidermy, ceramics, history of war room. A cafe on the ground floor too. So much to see and can easily spend a good hour or two here. The staff were pleasant and helpful, too.
Holly B — Google review
This was a fantastic museum to visit, where we went to the section about the history of transportation in Derby! The steam traction engine model is a fantastic feature alongside different trains including diesel ones too, really appreciate the model railways working here.
K. P — Google review
A fantastic little museum, lots to see even though it's only a few rooms. The artifacts from around the world were very interesting
Phil W — Google review
It's one of the best places to visit It's so good size for a museum that it won't make kids tired. Everything inside it for art to stuffed animals and including Mummy Amazing please to visit
Salman A — Google review
A small museum and art gallery with an idiosyncratic layout and some odd features in the displays (I suppose I don't understand why taxidermy is still shown). But the Joseph Wright collection is excellent. The Bronze Age logboat is the most moving exhibit). And it's free! Although of course donations are appreciated.
Julia G — Google review
I'm surprised at the exhibitions within this museum, I took my daughters as they had there school project put up as an exhibition. The staff were really polite and friendly and we're very informative with my girls. There were many looked after artifacts, ranging from roman, Anglo saxon , Egyptian and many more, to which I was actually glued looking at.

Markeaton Park, located near Derby, is a popular destination for families and visitors. This expansive public space spans over 207 acres and offers a variety of attractions such as craft village, gardens, boating lake, kids' play area, and sporting facilities. The park hosts numerous events throughout the year including festive celebrations with live music, Christmas crafts, and an Elf Trail competition. Additionally, it provides a glimpse into history with remnants of an old World War II army camp.
Lovely urban park on the outskirts of Derby. Visited yesterday for parkrun. Large hand standing paid car park. Only gripe is the one time I actually didn't have cash, the machines were cash only. Not everyone likes using apps. Contactless on the machine options as well please. Lovely craft center and free toilets. Would visit again
Joanne F — Google review
We (two families) went to the paddling pool (last weekend) and had about 30 minutes of water time. We noticed that the water was very cold and dirty, with visible mud. The bathroom facilities were also unclean, and the pool seemed overcrowded. The next day, our children—and the adults who were with them in the pool—experienced vomiting, fever, and diarrhea. This may have been caused by poor water quality. I hope this review is taken into consideration to help improve conditions, such as controlling the number of visitors, enforcing rules like requiring a shower before entering the pool, and ensuring frequent cleaning and sanitation. Otherwise, the play areas were excellent.
Jevan A — Google review
Love going here as a family. There are so many things to do. The parking itself is pretty cheap, if you're paying on the MiPermit app you're looking at about £4.70 for four hours which is very decent considering. Recommended to go with kids as the Mundy Play Centre is fantastic. There's a huge park which is great for kids of most ages (smaller section for the little ones and a huge pirate ship and some climbing areas for older ones). There's also canoes, high ropes, bouncy castles, small kids cars and inflatable slides. Most of which you do have to pay extra for, and it varies in price but overall it's relatively inexpensive for what it is. There is also a great shops in the craft centre area. Overall a fantastic day out with the whole family and you can easily spend hours there. Whether you're wanting to entertain the kids, have a picnic or just a stroll round the park
Ben — Google review
Large open space park offering a range of activities and features for all ages. Plenty of parking but is app only. Scan QR code to download app and then pay for parking. We paid £2.70 for 2hrs. There is a play area for kids and a stream for dogs to play in. Cafe and restaurant for anyone wanting to eat. Also ice cream vans. Some craft shops in centre of park. Plenty of trails and woodland to explore.
Sardev S — Google review
Lovely park with a well-maintained kids’ play area and a nice walking path. Clean, peaceful, and great for families.
AMIT J — Google review
It's always nice to go for a walk to the park, plenty of space for runners, bike users, there's a playground and some shops. Sunny weather really makes the park look great.

Kedleston Hall is a stunning neoclassical mansion located in the village of Kedleston, Derbyshire. Built in the mid-18th century, it boasts grand Palladian architecture and is surrounded by over 740 acres of picturesque parkland with lakes and walking trails. The interiors, designed by Robert Adam, showcase a remarkable collection of fine paintings and furniture. In the summer, visitors can enjoy outdoor theatre and cinema on the grounds.
Kedleston Hall is a beautiful location for walking and enjoying some time with nature. I'd thoroughly recommend getting there early to beat the crowds as on a sunny day, it does get very busy. There is good car parking and excellent facilities at the entrance. Most of the walks are clearly marked, with loads of spots to stop and sit down to take a load off, or enjoy the grounds. Excellent location for the dogs, lots of space to sniff and run around, though it is leads on throughout the site.
Steven M — Google review
I was really impressed and enjoyed our recent family visit. Lots of parking close to the Hall and grounds. We had a voucher and entered the hall/gounds for free. The hall itself is smaller than some other places such as Chatsworth but still felt big on the inside and lots of rooms to explore. A refreshing facility here were lockers for bags/possesions. This made a massive difference compared to some other places that demand no bags taken into the house, but nowhere to store them. We had our kids day bag and picnic bag and we locked them away without any worries. The staff were very polite and kind and even helped us with our possessions and didnt make us feel like naugthy children for daring to come to a place like this with bags ( take note Chatsworth ) The house has some dazzling rooms to explore and takes a good hour to take it all in. Behind the house is an amazing church which despite its small size is stunning inside with several amazing tombs and sculpures. The grounds are lovely with the addition of a childrens play area tucked away with lots of things to keep the little ones busy. There is the usual gift shop and refreshingly a book shop, which I grabbed a few items from. I cant comment on the cafe/resturant as we didnt use it but the food and decor looked very nice. There is a small coffee stand near the stables which does a very nice mocha and sells Bluebells icecream for what I thought was a very reasonable price. Overall I would definatley recommend.
David F — Google review
A really nice place to visit, a lovely house with some impressive rooms and furniture. The staff were very helpful and knowledgeable. It did not rain so we had a lovely walk around the gardens and to the bridge, also managed to walk around the church. There is a restaurant serving food and a coffee van near the stables with covered seating.
Paul “ — Google review
The cows greet you on entry but once across the bridge, the house and setting looks like a landscape painting. In the house, it has a Rome pantheon oculus ceiling and amazing collumned room. A good bit that's easily missed is the curved corridor near the entrance with the big game heads from animals shot over 120 years ago, an insight into the days of the Raj. Could easily spend 4 hours here if you do the walks too.
Nick L — Google review
Extremely impressive house that was built for show and not actually lived in by the extremely wealthy owners who lived in a wing attached to the main house . The servants hall is the main visitor entrance and even this is grand in comparison to other large period houses. Huge rooms many with high ceilings and stunning features, decorations and furnishings etc this house just oozes money and wealth. The staff and volunteers are extremely helpful and knowledgeable and add personality to the house. Large onsite NT cafe which has a good selection of food/drinks but odd ordering system
A340 F — Google review
Amazing walk. I took the long look 5km , the trail is very well maintained and a true pleasure. You can select to stay in cafe, go to church or enjoy the gardens when u finish your walk
Amal E — Google review
I recently attended the Diwali celebration at Kedleston Hall , courtesy of Simran Kaur Sandhu, Creative Producer — and it was one of the most enchanting cultural experiences I’ve had in the UK. From the moment I arrived, the atmosphere was warm, vibrant, and inclusive. The hall was beautifully transformed with hand-crafted marigold garlands and glowing diyas, casting a soft golden light across the grand interiors. The way traditional Indian design was woven into the neoclassical setting felt effortless — a perfect balance of heritage and celebration. Some of my favourite moments included the stunning light projections inspired by rangoli art, the interactive cultural displays, and the thoughtful details like restored lamps and traditional games that made the whole experience feel alive and personal. Felt genuinely welcoming and touched with this story. Everything felt authentic, well-researched, and deeply respectful of both cultures. It was more than an event — it was a heartfelt celebration of community, creativity, and light. I left feeling proud, inspired, and grateful to have experienced such a meaningful Diwali at such a historic venue. Truly a must-visit if you get the chance.

Stunning house. The current renovation work being done by the Trust is superb. One of the best houses I have visited. Also deckchairs and seating provided around the gardens so that you can chill and take in the beautiful surroundings. Definitely recommend.

Farm
Bluebell Dairy Ice Cream Farm is a delightful destination for families, offering a range of activities and attractions. The farm features a charming tea shop that serves artisanal ice creams, cakes, and savories until 5:30 pm. From November 25th to December 24th, visitors can immerse themselves in the enchanting experience of Santa's Enchanted Christmas, complete with real reindeer, a Create-a-Bear workshop, friendly elves, and more.
Really enjoyed our trip today with our toddler, there was lots to do and we planned what we wanted to do and we all had a wonderful time. The staff were very helpful and friendly, the ice cream is incredible! Our toddler loved all the different things and got involved with the interactive animal care, which was nice! We left a little early for our little one’s nap, however we would have stayed all day if we could! We will definitely revisit and would absolutely recommend - it’s such a great day out!
Deen O — Google review
What a lovely family day out, great variety of animals in a lovely setting and best of all amazing ice cream. Lots to do and see, we loved the wooden toboggan and tractor go karts. Loads of friendly animals after cuddles and feed. Meet the cows that make your ice cream and then try it for yourself. Lots of delicious flavours to chose from. Fantastic day out for all the family.
Ryan H — Google review
What an amazing day. I brought the Highland cow experience for my wife for her birthday as she is obsessed with them. I thought it would be just for my wife to do but me and my 5 year old daughter were able to groom and feed them too! Freya the host was friendly and knowledgeable which was lovely. Other than the farm, there is loads for the kids to do. There is a play area, a sledge ride and go karts which was fun for adults too. We will be definitely returning.
Stacey W — Google review
Great place to spend good time with kids. They have cows, sheep's, boat, pigs, rabbits, birds, hen, chicken, roaster, play are for kids,. They also have party hall to celebrate events. Great location for celebrating kids birthday. Cafe with great ice cream options and few snack options. Kids enjoys cuddling with small calfs and rabbits. Many tents are located in the form, so Great option if you wish to do picnic with kids. Staffs were very friendly.
Soumya B — Google review
We visited this place for our two children’s birthday after hearing great reviews. It was super easy to buy tickets online, and you can even buy animal feed in advance, but you can also buy it right there. I was pleasantly surprised by how much there was to do! Not only could we feed the animals that the kids loved, but there was a cafe/restaurant, a park, and even a pillow bounce. We could have spent the whole day there if we hadn’t had other plans. Oh, and a big shoutout to the person in the gift shop who made us feel so welcome and gave us some great advice about the Birds Ice Cream! We’ll definitely be coming back here again!
Jon — Google review
Great day out for family/small children. Lots of animals to see and you can pet them because they're close - cows, goats, sheep, alpacas, guinea pigs, chickens. Some live feeding shows and also chance to have a gentle walk around the paddocks. Some kids play areas, which are suited to smaller kids - toddler to primary school age. Food is ok and you can order via the app to your table, but the main attraction is the ice cream 🍨🍦 so nice and loads of flavours, yum!! Will definitely go back
Kaye L — Google review
We visited today for highland cow week. Wow! Such a great place and getting to cuddle Jessie the highland cow calf just made my day! All staff we met were very friendly. Lots of different animals to see and feed. Plenty of fun things for kids to do too. Ice cream was delicious. Go visit you won’t be disappointed!

We loved visiting Bluebell and will definitely be back with our youngest son this time. The Highlands were the highlight as my partner absolutely loves them to bits. All the animals were very well kept and it was one of the cleanest farms we have ever visited

Pickford's House, located in Derby's Friar Gate area, is a beautifully restored Georgian townhouse that once belonged to the renowned architect Joseph Pickford. The museum offers exhibitions on 18th-century life and historic costume, providing insight into the lives of both the wealthy residents and their servants from the 18th to 20th centuries.
Took 3of our grandchildren here today for a couple of hours during half-term. The staff were lovely and helpful..the children were fascinated seeing how people used to live. Eg washing.. toilet. Kitchen.. not with internet phones and Xbox!! Free parking free entry but we gave a donation and £1 each for the trail. Well worth it. We have taken them to all 3 of Derby museums now.
Fay W — Google review
Lovely museum house/home including The Dracula returns to Derby exhibition on now! 4 stars as I'm disabled and the only access to all floors is via stone stair case with good banister! Free entry, large car park at rear, gift shop and garden.
Sarah S — Google review
The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and I was given a helpful overview on arrival. The house is a Grade I listed building and has been beautifully preserved, with original features such as the old bathtub and sink still in place, which adds to its charm. Inside the house, there is also a Dracula exhibition which is very well presented, though I have to admit it gave me quite a scare! The museum is for free!
Kathy — Google review
Very interesting museum! It's close to the center, free admission and is simply unique compared to a lot of other museums I've been to. Visually impressive displays to see. Nice small garden to relax afterwards.
Namie R — Google review
Absolutely brilliant museum, a short walk from the town centre. Interesting exhibitions including toy theatres and dracula. Set over 4 floors, with no lift but plenty of seating for a rest on each floor.
Gemma P — Google review
Lovely little museum, just down from the Friar Gate Bridge. The ground floor of the house is set out as it would have been when the Pickfords lived there. Paintings on the walls include sone by Joseph Wright Of Derby. Upstairs are theatrical items, including puppet theatres, and currently there's a Dracula exhibition commemorating 101 years since the play Dracula got its world premiere at the nearby Grand Theatre. It's free and well worth a visit.

Moorways Sports Village and Water Park in Derbyshire offers a fantastic water park experience with thrilling flumes, a wave-creating Wow Ball, racer slide, and a fun water play area. Visitors can also enjoy pool inflatables and two separate soft play areas. The water park can get busy during events, but the wait for attractions is usually not too long. The changing rooms are clean, and the showers are hot.
I was very impressed with the almost new look of this facility. I visited the water park and had the most fun EVER racing my brothers in the two slides. There were also mountain like sledge slide with a big drop that I went on by myself and brother which was very scary at first, but with the accompanying of the kind staff who calmed me down and assured my safety😂 then I was going on again and again! There were two water slides which were very cool and a big swimming area with ocean like waves. Great experience will definitely come again! THANKS
Ziyad M — Google review
First time playing at the water park today and I like the Atlantis inflatable, very good and exciting. However, I noticed that some parts of the facilities have sharp edges, which can be quite dangerous for children if they run into them. I got a small bruise on my leg when I went through the starting point and smashed the barrier of the top slide. Also, I see time schedules for public swimming on weekends do not offer that many time-friendly options for working individuals like me; most are family swimming after I asked the reception. Mostly, the waterpark provided a good environment for us to relax.
Matthew L — Google review
Been a couple of months since we've last been, but what a fantastic difference the new displays make in the pool area. The window vinyls are great. So simple but really makes a fantastic difference to the experience.
Mark — Google review
Great little waterpark and autism friendly! Sen sessions available but the mainstream sessions are never over crowded with time slots staggered for entry and exit. Lovely and clean with great facilities! Cafe on site and optional soft play for little ones too.
Beck S — Google review
Great leisure centre, pools and water slides are all in new condition. Lots to do with kids (need to be over 1.2 metres to go on slides). Changing rooms are big and clean with lots of lockers. Lots of car parking on sites too
Kate M — Google review
Great place for kids to go to play in the water, several slides to go on and an obstacle course in the main pool (check when this is open as we were too late to go on). Unfortunately some parts were not working (possibly broken) but that didn't affect things much. Definitely worth a trip for something different to do.
Rob D — Google review
We like this place. It was our second visit there when we were on the way to visit our cousin's in Derby. It is worth it to go and have a bit of fun ;-)
Agnieszka K — Google review
Took my 2 kids really good fun. Floatation equipment is worn on the big inflatable meaning loads of fun even if they aren't great swimmers. Really fun slides just check height ratings to avoid disappointed little ones. Spacious changing rooms and showers. Wave pool is deeper than it looks in the still pictures so do bring arm bands for kids if needed, it's deeper than paddling height. I originally begrudged the time slots but meant it wasn't too busy which is the plus even if it was inevitably busy at times. All in all really fun experience for little ones.

Nature & Parks
Darley Park is an expansive natural area located along the Derwent River in Derby. This 80-acre park features rolling fields, woodlands, and flower gardens, making it a picturesque location for families to explore. Children can marvel at the vibrant butterfly garden and diverse wildlife including bees, otters, owls, woodpeckers, and kingfishers.
Beautiful park, masses of open space, mature trees riverside walks and seating areas. Parking is a bit limited in the main car parks, but you can park with care on the streets.
Diane R — Google review
Darley Park is an absolute gem for dog owners! My tiny girl had an absolute blast paddling in the river. It's shallow and gentle enough for them to safely splash around. The park is also filled with mature trees, offering plenty of shade on warmer days, and my dog was endlessly entertained by the many squirrels darting about. It's really convenient having toilets on site and the cafe is a lovely bonus for grabbing a drink. The river itself is truly beautiful, adding to the park's overall charm. However, be warned, this park is incredibly popular, and for good reason! It gets very busy, especially on weekends and sunny afternoons. Finding a parking spot can be a real challenge, so arriving early is definitely recommended. Despite the crowds and parking situation, the joy my dog gets from the river and the lovely surroundings (and the handy facilities!) make Darley Park a lovely spot to visit. Just plan ahead!
Fi — Google review
Great park with wide open spaces that are perfect for walking and very dog-friendly too. There’s always something going on, from cricket and football to a rock climbing facility we spotted during our visit. There are some lovely pubs nearby and a café right at the park entrance. Just a heads-up the café is cash-only, which is a bit unusual these days. The only downside was the parking. We arrived early and were lucky to get a spot in the small free car park off Darley Park Road, right near the entrance. I can imagine parking would be much more difficult later in the day. There may be other options nearby but we didn’t explore further. All in all, it’s a fantastic spot to spend a few hours outdoors. Definitely worth a visit!
Jon — Google review
A beautiful Park on the very edge of Derby City Centre, and easily accessible by foot from the ring road, as well as some limited car parking at two areas if you're early enough. There's a wonderful footpath along the western edge of the river Derwent which splits off towards the cricket pitch. There is a wonderful seated patio area with a shop selling ice cream cornets and a few children's play area's as well. The main park is a beautifully manicured grass area with shaded area's of mature trees 🌳 in which to take shade under during hot sunny weather 😎🌞.
Tony J — Google review
A beautiful space, great parking, access, well maintained paths. Sports fields, play area, family picnic areas, the Derwent river banks with beautiful views accross from Darley playing fields, etsablished trees & wild areas, park gardens & cafe, circular walk through Darley Abbey recommended...dog friendly.
Isobel O — Google review
Large hillside park leading down to the river Derwent. Huge open spaces with a large number of old trees on the hill side..
Roger S — Google review
A very matured park. The dedicated area to Hydrangea plants are beatutiful with a range of Hydrangea varieties. A free car park is also available outside the park.
Ahmad L — Google review
Lots of places to roam around in lovely tree lined open spaces - playgrounds - toilets - cafe and ice cream place too. The open spaces appeared clear of usual dog mess with lots of bins for waste. Some nice walks under the different trees and open spaces for ball games. Cafe sells hot and cold food plus drinks with a good sized sitting area outside - parking at busy times difficult and surrounding street parking cintrollled by residents only pass but there are a few areas limited to two hour stays

Lovely theatre, well kept, comfortable even for the larger guy. Went for a comedy store evening which was hilarious. Food : / drink reasonably priced. Good facilities. Wish there was more on we liked to go and see.

Great little theatre - no bad seat in the house due to the well angled seating, and as it's not very large, always able to see the stage well. I've seen a few different productions here and they've always been great quality travelling theatre productions. Well stocked bar with snacks (but a nut-free-zone).

Such a great little theatre. I am pretty local to Derby and this was my first time visiting. I parked in the basement car park and the theatre was easy to get to from there. The views from the seats are good and I don't think any of the seats would of had a bad view due to positions/angles. I am a plus size woman who carries her weight in her hips and these seats are better than normal theatre seating as they only have arm rests. The staff are friendly and very accommodating.

Great venue. Seating could have done with a centre aisle. Drinks service good. Good seats very roomy for a larger person.
Andrea P — Google review
Had a coffee before the performance and shared a scone which was very nice. Comfy seats with decent leg room. Interval ice creams were £3.50 and card payment only. Only toilets are on the floor you enter on so need to leave time for going up and down stairs twice if you happen to be sat near the front!

I had a free ticket to see The Great Gatsby. The acting was brill. The atmosphere created was second to none. I haven't been to the theater for years. Well worth the visit.

We love Derby theater. Perfect size. Good views from any seat. Intimate enough to feel like you're part of the production sound quality. Excellent! We saw Wind in the willows. Just an awesome show full of great performances and beautiful music. A real strong summary vibe
Rich B — Google review
Outstanding Theatre with many good shows at reasonable prices. We visit here at least 6 times a year to see some exciting performances. Seats are comfortable and the view, wherever you sit, is good with clear sound quality. I have only had one really bad pantomine to report on which was not suitable for children in 2015. There is a small cafe downstairs selling items at a reasonable price and a bar upstairs for starter and interval spirit drinks. The ice creams during the interval are a total rip off price but for a special occasion Yum Yum

Lovely place I accidentally found whilst delivering to a customer. Luckily I had my skates with me too 😀. Could easily spend a few hours here. Carpark was free, cafe and toilets close by. You can have a walk around the lake or venture on the route 6 cycle path which is pretty smooth and a slow scenic as it follows the river Derwent. Definitely worth visiting and for rollerblading it’s awesome

Nice park near the city centre. The cycle paths which crosses the park along the river and also out towards Allenton are great routes if you are looking to go longer distances. The routes around the park itself are also good. I especially like the parts by the river. The lake area is not so good as there is a lot of bird much. The free parking is very useful.

Lovely park with a surpiring amount of wildlife, we spotted some mating toads, the play areas were great for for all ages. Nice clean facilities and cafe. It could do with a little tlc and litter collecting but considering the financial constraints of the city council. It was throughly enjoyable few hours our grandchildren loved they were very excited.

Great park for all. There is a fab play area for children with a zipline, a small BMX track and a few football pitches. There is a library within the park, check website for opening times, and they even sell poo bags! There is a public toilet but they aren't always open. There is a bowls area and I think a bowling club for those looking for a hobby. There is also a couple of small wooded areas for the dogs or children to explore and a lovely stream running through the middle of the park. There are a couple of car parks which are quite large and is free with disabled spaces available. The park is accessible to all with there being tarmac and gravel paths around the majority of the park. Overall a lovely family oriented park with facilities for everyone to enjoy.

Our local Park just 0.2 mile from were we live. Take our Grandkids to the playpark/ splash pool when they stay with us. Plenty of Green space & small woodland area's with Chaddesden Brook running through the centre of the park. Cafe and Toilets but Cafe mainly open weekends or summer time weekdays. Great charity store/ shop on the park were I believe the money goes towards improving the park. Community library on the park and War memorial gardens. Derby Orbital cycle route #66 (signed) runs through the park. If you walk around the outer circuit of the Park it works out around a mile. Every Summer the " Big One Event" takes place which includes Shows, stalls, music and a fairground.

The Museum of Making in Derby is a popular attraction located at the Silk Mill, known as the world's first modern factory. It showcases the 300-year-old history of making in Derby and aims to inspire creativity. The museum's Collections of Making feature objects and archives that document Derby's manufacturing history and its people.
We visited today and 10/10 for the wonderful staff, both in the museum and the cafe. Everyone was super-friendly and helpful and made us very welcome. We visited the Earthbound exhibition on the top floor (on until January 2026) and it was fascinating, hugely varied and easily the same level as London exhibits in, say, The Science Museum or Tate Modern. I have mobility issues so I was chuffed to see loads of seats to have small rests on and a spacious lift to all floors. We also had tasty food in the cafe and flat white that hit the spot. If you haven't been, go. If you have, go again! 🥳

Derby Museum is an amazing place to visit! The staff are very friendly and take the time to explain everything in detail. The collection of paintings, antiques, and many other fascinating exhibits make it a truly enriching experience. A must-visit spot for anyone interested in art, history, and culture

We have just celebrated our 5 year anniversary at the Italian Mill (Museum of Making) and cannot fault a thing! From start to finish the staff at the venue were amazing, so helpful and accommodating in the arranging process but also on the night, the staff were so so friendly and guests even commented on this. The venue is absolutely stunning and our event decorator (Silhouette Events) brought our ideas to life in the most wonderful way. It’s such a gorgeous space and perfect central location when you have people travelling from different places which we did. We had plenty of space for our DJ, Dancefloor, Photo Booth, soft play and snack table. We had 110 guests and the space was perfect. The price for hire is so reasonable which was also a major factor for us as some similar event spaces in and around Derbyshire with this same industrial style were just way out of budget. Please consider this location for your event! We and the guests were blown away at how gorgeous it looked on the day and when the lights go down for the evening, it’s magical! Absolute 10/10!!
Rianne H — Google review
We called into the museum to use up a couple of hours before catching a train later that afternoon. It would have been easy to spend more time here. It's a free museum with donations welcomed - and in my opinion thoroughly deserved. Over four floors there are a huge selection of artifacts showing how Derby was in at the start of the Industrial Revolution and still continues to be important - it's hard to miss the Trent engine hanging above you! Staff were helpful when required and the exhibits have been displayed in an imaginative way, making good use of the building and natural light.

Jumpin Fun Inflatable Park Derby is a thrilling destination for families and kids of all ages. The park offers a wide range of activities, from giant slides to obstacle courses, ensuring there's something for everyone to enjoy. Visitors appreciate the attentive staff who are dedicated to ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all guests. While some visitors noted that the park can get busy, they were impressed by the friendly and interactive staff members who went above and beyond to engage with both kids and parents.
I took a leap and booked a Jumpin party package just 2.5 weeks before the event, despite never having been there before—and I’m so glad I did! From the moment I booked, every staff member provided outstanding service. I called several times with questions and each time I was greeted with friendly and helpful responses. The kids had a blast in the ball pit before our session began, and the team was incredibly accommodating, even welcoming two surprise guests without any issues. Safety was a top priority, with staff stationed throughout the play area ensuring the kids were safe. Hand sanitizers were readily available, which was a nice touch. Our party host was the sweetest person, making the experience even better. The party room was clean and nicely set up, with comfortable seating. We were given a balloon arch, cake knife, cutlery, paper plates, and cups—though the party lights didn’t work, but that was only a minor hiccup. We ordered pizzas, which the kids loved, along with chips, salad, a tray of delicious fruit, and two amazing cake/biscuit boxes that I’m still raving about. Unlimited squash was available throughout our session. The host helped us both set up and clean up, and was always on hand to assist with anything we needed. I couldn’t be more satisfied with the service! Paid parking is available, and you have 5 minutes from your arrival to pay. As a side note, Jumpin Derby is the only place I’ve visited since arriving in the UK where every staff member I encountered was genuinely friendly and helpful!

We had an absolutely brilliant time at Jumpin Fun Derby! The new management has clearly made a positive impact, creating a vibrant and exciting atmosphere. The array of inflatables, especially the "Last Man Standing" challenge, provided fantastic fun and laughter for all ages. Had a great day out here today, the staff were really friendly and welcoming, Joe, and the girl on reception were great. As were all the staff. If Parking here, you'll need to register, there are two car parks, make sure you get the right one. We parked in the shopping centre car park, and it didn't cost us much. There's a place to get food here too, we didn't get any, but the menu looked reasonably priced. I recommend going here, we had a lot of fun with the kids, one 4 one 6. Didn't take any photos today.

Thanks josh for making his birthday a very easy and stress free day!

A brilliant place to take the kids, the first hour was good, able to take your children, I would advise for children above 4 years old that's for sure. The second hour was extremely busy, there was 3 party groups that turned up and it felt very busy with kids running around and knocking into our 2 year old. I would like to thank the staff for forwarning us of the groups coming in and saying it would be busy. Overall I would probably return but will be waiting till our little one gets a bit bigger.

I booked both my children and two of there friends to come jumpin fun two hour session I’d like to say a HUGE HUGE thank-you to a member of staff Corey - my son is autistic and usually in places like this will come to me 19172 times ! It doesn’t become somewhere of respite for myself most parents come here for some peace! Today I actually got that (blessing with it being half term) the only time he came to me was to tell me how cool Corey was and how amazing and funny he is and how much fun they are having with him that’s all 4 children saying this! Even my teenager daughter !! After leaving we got in the car to head for dinner and again for the next hour the children was non stop talking about him! Made a huge impression on the children and now already asking when there going back ! He clearly is a huge credit to your company, I don’t often here my children praising staff members that’s more our job as adults but lovely to hear them talking so positive about this gentleman. So I’d like to say THANKYOU ! and thankyou for giving me 2 hours of peace 😂😂

What a super place this is. I attended a wellbeing walk with Derbyshire wildlife trust, and I was really impressed with this park. The old hall is no longer open but there are toilet facilities available. There are plenty of well trod paths to follow, or you could just walk around your own way. There's a lake with water fowls, red kites souring over the trees, and gorgeous natural plants and flowers. It is a great place for adults, kids, and dogs, and the car park is free, too.

What a gem! All this location needs is a small business allowed to operate out of the main house or outbuildings This would make this area even more inviting, but what a location, totally beautiful huge area Lush green rolling hills, perfect for a walk/dog walk we packed a picnic and headed to the lake, was a warm sunny day sitting by the lake enjoying good food and such tranquil settings If you've not been I highly recommend a visit, we had limited time so there is much more we plan to see Top location Edit Love the location that much its going to come part of our weekly walks, went today and explored further Discovered some rather large hills with stunning views and vantage points (just needs a bench on the top) then went off trail in the big woods to the back of the Hall Where we found carpets of bluebells and a little stream or natural spring flowing from the top. Took some really great photos but they don't do the place justice I highly recommend this location

Absolutely beautiful park to visit. Has a Downton Abbey feel about it. Lots of walking trails, a beautiful lake and various woody areas for a great sensory adventure for our dogs. There is ample parking and a few, not many, poo bins. There are no toilets. Lots of benches dotted around for those who need a break and there is a path that would, in my opinion, be suitable for a wheelchair.

Great family-fun! We came by yesterday and took advantage of one of their ten-pin deals, which included a free pizza! After an hour’s game, our teens and their friends had a great time playing arcades, pool, punching bags! My wife even managed to win 999 tickets!

Visitors can enjoy indie film screenings and take advantage of meal deals at the cinema, followed by drinks at the vegan-friendly cafe bar.
Really nice place, went here for the first time a few days ago to see ‘My Neighbour Totoro’ and it was great. The cinema screen was a good size and was projected well with no issues, the sound quality was good & the seats were comfy with a good amount of leg room. The staff that I interacted with were all very nice & helpful too. They also had a good selection of drinks and snacks (thought the snack selection was less than most cinemas but still decent), I can’t comment on the hot food that they serve though because I didn’t try any, nor did I see any. They also had a nice little cafe space downstairs that was very nice, with a few tables & chairs and a small couch.

Went along with 18 and 19 year old sons to watch a film - just took along Uni IDs (18!), as at the time of booking student tickets the website said to bring this. Didn’t have passports or driving licences with us as they weren’t driving or travelling abroad - weren’t even asked their DOBs. Was told we’d have to be refunded (didn’t even have the foresight to offer the other film that was showing). Made a special trip out to Derby only to be turned away - hadn’t been before and certainly won’t return. Could have stayed to watch Mike Leigh film instead, but the whole encounter/staff manner put us off. Not all that friendly, in fact felt very unwelcome - was never even given any kind of apology for the massive inconvenience. Was originally heading for the lady with the ticket scanner when we entered the cinema foyer, but was officiously called back by someone whom I thought was working at a food counter. BTW the biscuits/cakes laid out across the front of that counter should have been covered, given that conversations were going on across it - definitely not meeting any food hygiene standards. Perhaps too busy unnecessarily turning people away… I wouldn’t recommend Quad, and was relieved to take our custom elsewhere to watch the film we intended to, without the awkwardness. Such a shame you don’t actually support the arts when you decline entry to Film & Arch. students. All the begging “donate here” QR signs everywhere are very off-putting, and ironically they are happy to reject £30 in cinema tickets from genuine customers. RE. YOUR RESPONSE - Challenge 25 for an 18 film, since when? So why do you offer ‘16-25 membership’? We were not wanting to purchase alcohol, we were at the cinema. Similar venues are far more welcoming - Broadway Nott’m always issue free - thanks.

Normanton Park is a lovely green space located in the heart of Normanton. The park features tree-lined paths, spacious grass fields, and various facilities such as football/tennis courts, cricket nets, and a play area for children. Additionally, there is an outdoor exercise area with equipment available. Visitors can enjoy ample parking next to the park and appreciate its dog-friendly environment. While some areas may require maintenance and renovation, it remains a great place for exercise, walks, or runs.
I recently visited Normanton Park in Derby and was blown away by its beauty and tranquility. The park is well-maintained, with lush green spaces, vibrant flowers, and a serene atmosphere. It's the perfect place to relax, unwind, and enjoy a leisurely stroll. The park also boasts a variety of amenities, including a playground for children, a cafe, and even a bandstand for outdoor events. I particularly enjoyed the peaceful pond and the opportunity to watch the ducks and swans glide by. If you're looking for a relaxing escape from the hustle and bustle of city life, I highly recommend Normanton Park. It's a hidden gem in the heart of Derby.

I would like to know why is the need to book the football pitch should the park be free for everyone because is not what is happening right now. The kids are on holiday from school and are literally groups of old men’s that tell the kids to come out of the pitch because they tell they book the space when is not true , this is what happens with the second pitch . The first pitch need to book I really don’t know if there’s need to pay what state is this country coming that nothing is for free

A medium sized park with a cricket pitch, tennis courts and cricket practice nets. It had an appropriately sized children’s playground - but I haven’t studied it, so don’t know what it contains. There is a cafe which opens occasionally and toilets which are also open occasionally. There are two fields, one which is almost big enough for a football pitch, but is oval. The other is probably around 200 metres both ways. There is also a small picnic area, lots of benches and a small adult exercise area. There are trees surrounding both fields.

Decent park with 2 football courts, but very disappointed to see the play zone gates firmly locked shut so no one can play in them. What was the point of having that football court if you are going to act all precious about it. Leave the gates open for young children to be get some exercise or don't bother having them..

My son had an amazing birthday party at lasertag Megazone last night! Staff were really helpful and friendly! Him and his friends had so much fun! Would definitely recommend and will be using for future birthday parties! Thank you Willows 🥳

Quite enjoyed the laser tag but some kid kept camping me on the top floor so I threw a tantrum and rage quitted. Pizza was well solid and I really enjoyed my friends 6th birthday party.
Joe M — Google review
Spend most of my weekend at Willows with the kids and their activities. The staff are amazing and very accommodating. All of them have got a smile and time for a chat, especially Dylan. To top it off the coffee is delicious and reasonably priced.
Toni M — Google review
Very friendly staff we had a kids party football and laser tag included with party food chicken nuggets chips and pizza wich was good quality not your usual processed rubbish the kids enjoyed it and as a parent we didn't have to do a thing as willows provided party bags for the kids too! Only thing that we needed to bring was a birthday cake . Well worth a try guys 10/10 willows

Additionally, it features special events such as the Christmas panto with spectacular sets and breathtaking effects. Visitors can also enjoy activities like cycling on the fixed wheel track with coaching available for beginners. The well-run bar and efficient seating arrangements ensure a pleasant experience for all attendees.
We went here for the schools final trampolining competition. Parking was ample and the arena itself was impressive. Staff were friendly and helpful. Looking forward to a revisit in the future!

Been here a few times now to see shows, this time it was Al Murray, the facilities were clean but the queues for the bar were ridiculous, queued for nearly 30 mins before the event started, they either need more staff on for these events or better training. We didn't bother going to the bar again during the interval as we knew we wouldn't of got served in time for the start of the second interval.
Samantha T — Google review
Good gym and studio. The fitness studio is large and well equipped. The gym has a good range of free weight, machine weights and cardio machines. Also nice areas for stretching and functional stuff. The entrance way is nice and large and there are lots of areas to relax before or after a workout. Been to the arena for events too, and it's always well organised and feels easy attending with large crowds.

Amazing venue for indoor sports event. Visited for table tennis tournament where they around 32 tables. Cycling was happen as well so it was a great view too. It has gym and cafeteria facilities as well.

This is a wonderful place. My Daughter recently cycled here and we visited the cafe afterwards. Please be aware that parking for the first 3 hours is free, but your need to register your vehicle once you get inside using the registration screens.

I come here regularly (once a week) to ride on the velodrome, the track itself is in very good condition however it has got quite a few splinters so could do with some treatment. The venue is very spacious and I often see things being set up in the main arena for conferences and things like that. It is very welcoming and a great place to ride, work out or play other sports at.

Clean, air conditioned and functional. Went to a graduation ceremony so had to sit for two hours. The acoustics were great and the sound was clear. Nothing fancy, just did the job

Jangala Soft Play is highly recommended by another reviewer as the best children's amusement center. The atmosphere is friendly and the customer service is excellent, creating a delightful experience. During a pre-booked 2-hour session, there are plenty of activities for children aged around 3 and 4 years old. The food served, including a colorful cake, is delicious and homemade. The staff are incredibly friendly and kind.
Been a few times. This occasion was for a party my youngest was invited to. I paid for my eldest at the door, so that was fine. We ordered lunch. My daughter had a tuna jacket potato, my son had a cheese pizza and I had the pepperoni pizza. The jacket looked amazing, the pizza for me was very dough-ey (I hope this makes sense). Like frozen pizza. My son enjoyed his though. It's a lovely soft play and all 3 had a great time.
Tammy B — Google review
A great soft play for all kids. There is a smaller area for just little kids and then the big soft play for older children. The food there is nice and they are accommodating for any alternative needs. There is a function room on the first floor which is used for parties, we've attended a party there before and all the kids had a great time. All in all a great place and venue.
Adam J — Google review
Great soft play centre with a range of things for babies, toddlers and young children. We visited for the 9am session and it felt very clean and well maintained, which is refreshing for a soft play centre! There is a small cafe with a range of coffees, drinks and snacks. It wasn't too busy when we went which was perfect - this may have been because it was a 9am session. When I tried to book earlier in the week for a later session I was told this it was "full to the rafters", so definitely book in advance! Staff were all pleasant and friendly.

Our daughter had her birthday party on her 5th birthday, and it was fantastic! The venue was clean and beautifully set up, with a lovely atmosphere. The staff were incredibly friendly, and the entertainment was brilliant. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The young ladies who hosted our party did an amazing job, keeping the children engaged and organising every detail perfectly. I highly recommend this place!Thank you very much -Zoe's mum .

My wife and I recently hired the entire Jangala venue in Hilton to host our baby son's 1st birthday party. We had about 70 guests in total. The event was a huge success! The staff were fantastic and very helpful, both in the run up to the event and on the day. The facilities were clean and well maintained. The food for the children was appealing and delicious. We also ordered sandwich and samosa platters for our adult guests, and these were well-presented and went down a treat. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed playing and partying at Jangala, and we would thoroughly recommend this superb venue for people to looking to celebrate special occasions.

Lovely venue. Friendly, attentive staff. Lunch spread could have done with a little more. Sausage rolls were fantastic though, never change them. Definitely a great place for corporate events. I would have liked to have seen some fruit juice / cordial to drink alongside the tea and coffee on offer.
T G — Google review
Was recently on a training course here. The meeting room was very cold when we arrived as the heating hadn’t been on and the projector only worked intermittently. The room was generally fine with plenty of room but the chairs are quite uncomfortable when sat in them all day. The buffet lunch was really poor quality and I ended up walking to Sainsbury’s to buy something healthier. There were no soft drinks included with lunch and we quickly ran out of the bottled tap water provided. The free coffee machine was good though.
Phil B — Google review
Went there for a night of motown/soul music. You pay your entrance fee then immediately you're hit with the atmosphere of music, people dancing, drinking etc to be the let down by a cordoned/directing barrier for the bar & the queue that it creates. Upto 15/20mins before actually being served, hindered by the fact there were 2/3 bar staff running 2 bars..which I think they coped reasonably considering their circumstances. Conclusion: more bar staff on events such as these smoother night more sales
Robert B — Google review
Had a good night...however won't be going again...they don't take cash. For me it's not a good idea to use cards especially when you are half cut and don't get receipts...personally with cash you know what you have spent...not forgetting the £20, in the pocket for the jabab and taxi home lol
DSE L — Google review
Super staff, really helpful. Venue is nice and the facilities are good with car parks. Worth. Noting that you don't have to register to park either. 😀

Buzz Bingo Derby Foresters is a popular bingo center with electronic gaming, slot machines, and live entertainment. Some visitors have mentioned that the pace of calling out numbers in connected games can be too fast to keep up with. However, many guests have had excellent experiences at this venue, praising the friendly staff, variety of games, and delicious food served piping hot. It's been described as a great place for a fun night out with reasonable drink prices and clean facilities.
Excellent night out at this Buzz Bingo venue. Its my favourite bingo Hall. The staff are all very friendly, good variety of both bingo and party extra games. The food is excellent, well cooked and always piping hot. I really recommend this for a great, fun night out x

Great night watching Take That tribute for my friends birthday. Reasonable drink prices. Bingo was a bit pricey but it was a saturday night and the prize money was more. Staff friendly and helpful. Toilets clean. Would visit again

Rude staff members ruined my evening! Need to learn to explain things abit better to customers instead of shouting at them. Come here often but after tonight I don’t know if I will be.

I'm not going to lie and say you win everytime because you don't. It's a game of luck. Brilliant prize money and not too expensive either. It's a wicked place and great atmosphere. 😁 Come and get the buzz.

Faith in humanity pffft disgraceful behaviour by the ladie on the counter !! Complete jobs worth , cold faced person . Thank you to the other ladie that seen the error of her ways and atleast tried to give us option
GS8 S — Google review
The only fault I find is they don't explain what page is going to be played.(l've only been a few times) Also on the game that is connected to all sites. Why are the numbers called out to quickly, twice now I've been and it's a waist of money playing that game can't keep up with the calling.
John P — Google review
Staff very friendly and theirs nothing for them to help you in any way shape or form very clean as well pity not a lot of people their to use this place
Derek C — Google review
Not very good it's the same people winning every time, waste of money, the people that are putting money into that place win nothing in return, so you feel not bothering to go and save your money. It's expensive too, I'm glad I've seen sense.
