Allwetterzoo Münster, also known as the all-weather zoo, is a perfect family destination in Munster. Situated near Lake Aasee, it offers an ideal day out for families with its diverse range of activities. The zoo houses over 3,000 animals from 300 species and features covered walkways that provide shelter in any weather. Visitors can enjoy encounters with various animals, educational tours on conservation, and expert feedings.
A lovely zoo with an amazing variety of animals to pique your interest. Set in a sprawling park with plenty of activities to capture the attention of the youngest to the oldest, from feeding the elephants to the adventure playground with its massive slide! A great family day out in Münster!
Ivan L — Google review
Animals were really cool, you can get quite close up to most animals, though there was NO information in English or Dutch or any other language. So if you can't speak German and want to read up, don't go. It was quite clean everywhere, loads of space to walk, no crowdedness at all (we went early).
LucasGT — Google review
The zoo is nice, the animals are well cared for and look happy. They have quite spacious enclosures, and there are many renovation works going on, so it will become even better.
Anna V — Google review
This zoo is absolutely worth the visit, beautiful animals with nice habitats. We have come all the way from the south of Germany to visit this zoo and it didn’t disappoint us.
Sherry E — Google review
A large and beautiful zoo with both expected and surprising animals. Very family-friendly and great for kids – you can rent pull-along wagons, which are super handy. Clean restrooms and affordable parking (€5 per day). Also, a good place to visit when the weather isn’t perfect, thanks to several covered areas. Dogs are welcome, too, which is a big plus for us. Tip: book your tickets online in advance – entry is usually faster and often cheaper. Highly recommended!
Peter L — Google review
We had a brilliant day visiting here! The zoo is clean and tidy. The animals are well looked after and cared for. The staff are super friendly. There's lots of things to see and do. Lots of amazing playparks scattered around the park. We were able to feed the elephants - free of charge! And also the little parakeets. They have a few walk in enclosures, goats and lemurs. The whole day was fantastic! I would highly recommend visiting here! Children of all ages and adults would have a great time!
Jamie W — Google review
I really liked this zoo. The parking lot is very big so there's enough space to park your car. Another benefit are the parking- and entrance fee which aren't very high. The zoo is quiet big and offers hours of fun! They are building something near the entrance which will be done in 2022. I'm very curious and will definitely visit the zoo once this is done. There are various species of animals in this zoo and especially quiet a few different species of big cats. I love big cats which makes this zoo amazing! Most animals do have a good amount of space, but not all of them. For example the lions. Their habitat isn't the size it should be. And I think that some animals habitats are a bit doll. This zoo is also great if you have children. There are a lot of playgrounds where your children can play. There are also enough toilets throughout the whole zoo and a lot of different points where you can buy some food. I had a great time in this zoo and that is why I would recommend it to others.
Linne G — Google review
In my opinion, the zoo feels a bit cramped for the animals. About 50% of them seem to use the same small paths repeatedly, which doesn’t make them appear happy. Some animals, like the meerkats, seem to have enough space and look content, but others do not. For example, the indoor area for the giraffes is quite small. We stopped by the restaurant for a hot chocolate to go. The price for a “large” hot chocolate was listed as €3.90, but it ended up being €4.20 without any prior notice. On top of that, we paid an additional €1 for the Pfand (a refundable deposit). Overall, I think it’s an okay zoo, but I feel bad for the animals. For instance, the African wild dogs have worn down a single path in their enclosure from walking the same route repeatedly. That said, the zoo’s size and animations are decent.

Art Museum Pablo Picasso, also known as Kunstmuseum Pablo Picasso, is a must-visit for fans of the iconic artist. Housed in an 18th-century building in Muenster's city center, this museum boasts a vast collection of Picasso prints and frequently hosts temporary exhibitions featuring works by other renowned artists like Chagall and Warhol. The museum opened in the 1990s and offers visitors the opportunity to admire some of Picasso's most famous pieces.
Beautiful Chagall exhibit with sketches and finished works alike. We came on a Saturday but it wasn't too crowded. There are a few benches to sit on for tired visitors. The toilets are clean. Would love to visit here again in the future.
F T — Google review
Art Museum Pablo Picasso has a large collection of Picasso prints, more than any other museum. Beautiful building, friendly staff. If you don’t speak German, I recommend taking advantage of the free audio guide since none of the didactics are translated in English (my reason for rating this fine museum with 4 stars and not 5). We visited Münster on over the New Year’s holiday, so the coffee shop was closed, too bad.
Suzanne D — Google review
My expectations weren't right. I though Pablo Picasso was a painter. This however was mostly a picture-museum. They reflected experiences of wartime. Also, there were paintings. Mostly, the pictures were also accompanied with a tour. I enjoyed my stay in this museum.
Daniël J — Google review
Mostly a photo album of Picasso, his family, and friends—images you can easily find online. Very few artworks. All texts are in German, and the audio guide is overly focused on biography. Not engaging.
Alaz H — Google review
Very nice prints & photos of Picasso and Matisse’s life, other artists are also showcased. They have an audio tour they give you a device for that can be played in English, and it takes you through the photos and art displayed. Very informative and whimsical! They also had a nice gift shop and it looks like it’s connected to a nice shopping mall as well. The cafe looked very cute and looked like it had good selection.

The heritage museum Burg Hülshoff, located in the 16th-century castle birthplace of poetess Annette von Droste-Hülshoff, offers a serene and tranquil setting. Visitors can enjoy strolling through the picturesque gardens by the water or exploring the nearby forest. The on-site restaurant serves delicious cuisine, including an exquisite fresh waffle prepared by the talented head chef. The museum itself is accommodating, allowing late entry and providing audio guides in various languages for a personalized experience.
This Beautiful castle is only 25 mins from Münster. A remarkable building complex with rich history and lot of features. Reach enteriour, beautiful characteristic moat, nice pathways. They have a voice-guide(English also) plus audio walk in the surrounding area, a great walk around leads to a small tea house for special events. The basement is a gorgeous brasserie /restaurant also. Hints : Do not try the public buses. Worth to go by bike. The tea house is for rent
Peter W — Google review
Enchanting and wonderful place for a relaxing walk and enjoying a beautiful sunny day. Maybe also delighting the palate with the restaurant - bar of the Castle
Giancarlo — Google review
A very beautiful place, clean and tidy, full of history, with a beautiful story, but which lacks a lot. As in most cases, in Germany you cannot pay by card. There is no indication, presentation in English. There is no guide or dedicated person to guide you in any direction. The indoor halls close without you knowing, because of some events that no one knows about.
Radu G — Google review
Real pretty water castle where the writer Droste Hülshoff grew up. It has a cute trail around it and the gardens are very pretty and it's not crowded. They also have a cafe and museum.
Simone H — Google review
I didn't have any expectations before visiting this place and i was pleasantly surprised ! Very cozy, very beautiful, very relaxing atmosphere. We went there for a couple of hours and eventually spent the whole day. The only downside - unless you have a car its hard to reach, the public transport is not very convinient in that location
Maksim B — Google review
I can recommend this beautiful castle and it's gardens. Beautiful, well kept, grounds and a characteristic moat. A cafe and restaurant is also located here. A teahouse is located at the back, through the woods. Very relaxing to lounge in the sun in the garden chairs and listen to the forest sounds.
Matthew C — Google review
Wonderful experience. I visited on a cloudy day, and it was still beautiful. You can go around its gardens for free and visit the museum inside the main building (which I let for another day). The gardens are well cared for, and the paths are easy even in a rainy/wet setting. The gardens and the exterior of the palace are relatively accessible, but there are stairs to enter the museum and the restaurant. I haven't seen an accessible entrance for either, so it might be useful to call in advance and ask about it.
Lukas G — Google review
A modest museum with beautiful gardens, which are spoilt by noisy audio-visual nonsense created by talentless individuals, who have regrettably been invited by the curators to install their pieces of mind-numbing political activism. This frankly looks ridiculous in the home of Droste, whose well of creativity sprung from a fierce intellect. The work of lazy art from less than talented individuals looks shabby next to hers. Not sure what the "When we are gone, the trees will run riot" sign is meant to add to the experience.

Churches & Cathedrals
St. Lamberti Church is a stunning example of ecclesial Gothic architecture from the 14th century, located at the northern boundary of Principalmarkt. Its Gothic spire is adorned with three iron cages that once held the remains of Anabaptist Rebellion leaders in the 1530s. The church features beautiful stained glass windows, a large organ, and a decorated ceiling. Its perfect location near picturesque houses and shops makes it an ideal stop for visitors exploring the area.
Stunning church, with an even more interesting history. At the tower above the clock are 3 cages which used to keep three revolutionaries who led one of the brutal protestant revolutions in history. The inside is also beautiful. I’d definitely recommend to visit this church when you’re visiting Münster!

The most prominent Catholic church in Münster with an elegant Gothic architecture. It is located in the historic landmark 'Prinzipalmarkt'. No entrance fee.

It’s a very nice church. You must definitely seen it. The colours are beautiful. The new glass door is looking great. I’m very happy that I have seen it.
Gökhan Ö — Google review
Another interesting cathedral in this amazing old town of Münster. There are several old churches/cathedrals in this town and each of them have their own unique design and architecture and if you have time, it is worthwhile to go inside to have a look, take pictures, videos etc. On another note, if you are looking to go up the top of cathedrals to take aerial photos of the city, it is not possible to do so in Münster. In fact, many cathedrals are not possible to climb up and take photos.
Phil T — Google review
I was slightly amused and intrigued by the glowing ladder and colorful sliding doors. In general, the church is worth seeing. It looks majestic at the end of Prinzipalmarkt.
Hubert — Google review
St. Lamberti is not your average church it’s got a dark Gothic vibe and three iron cages hanging on the tower. Looks epic, feels mysterious. History and drama all in one place. Don't miss it!

The LWL Museum of Natural History with Planetarium in Munster is a captivating destination for families and curious minds alike. This museum showcases an array of exhibits that delve into the wonders of our planet and beyond, featuring fascinating displays of animal life and geological treasures. Among its highlights are remarkable artifacts like the world's largest ammonite and original swimming dinosaurs, which you won't find anywhere else in Germany. But that's not all!
5* only for the planetarium! Planetarium had some extensive information about the star constellation and the aurora borealis which was quite interesting (only in German though). The museum was a 1* only because only a small exhibition of the museum is open! This part is more for children. The rest is under construction, I could hear the drilling in the walls. Do not recommend unless you need some time to kill with your children. Planetarium is definitely recommend to visit! Tip: sit in the back, one row before the last!
Panda C — Google review
The museum and the planetarium could be really good and fun. But at the moment the exhibition is reduced due to some works inside but the price of the ticket is remained the same, which I don't find that right. I'm not a thin skinned person but I have to say that the people working at the entrance are really really rude. Shouting two times to a 5 years old for no real reason it's not acceptable.
Enrico F — Google review
The LWL Museum isn't particularly large, but it’s definitely interesting and worth a visit from a cultural and historical point of view — so far, so good. However, I have to say I was honestly quite shocked by how rude and unprofessional the staff were. Not only were they unfriendly, but their behavior bordered on aggressive at times. There seemed to be a complete lack of coordination and basic service mindset. It really put a damper on the experience, which is a shame, because the museum itself has potential. That said, we did have a positive encounter with the man who sold us our tickets — he was Swedish and exceptionally friendly and helpful, which stood in stark contrast to the rest of the staff.
Henrik P — Google review
After the Planetarium, you can walk through the Museum which is really cool and has some interactive activities you can play with for example: there was a sand thing that you could make mountains or seas, there was also a frame with the photo of the animal and a button and when you touched the button the noise played.
Cande M — Google review
There is a locker where you can put your jacket, bag and other belongings free of charge. The museum has a very modern and aesthetic design. Prices are discounted for students.
O G — Google review
Very interesting museum with different exhibitions. It is great for both adults and children. Everything is only in German, unfortunately. But in the shop you can get an audio tour (€2) in English and Dutch. This will however not cover all the exhibitions (not the dinosaur section and the national history section where the impressive skeletons are shown of several animals). Despite the lack of signs in English, I enjoyed being here. There's braille, by the way. There's a small restaurant where you can get pasta, pancakes, baked potato and cake. Parking costs €4.
Wicked S — Google review
Fantastic Place both for kids and adults! Great Dinosaurs... Lovely short movies... Amazing figures. Spend some Wonderful Time there! I'm serious! :-)

Thought this museum was of a good quality with the a real focus on engagement and definitely aimed at younger people and children. Historic City Hall, a 14th-century landmark in Munster, is renowned for its towering gothic gable and historical significance. It played a crucial role in the Peace of Westphalia negotiations and houses the famous Peace Hall where treaties ending the Thirty Years War were signed. The building's intricate facade showcases classic Gothic features, making it a must-visit for history enthusiasts.

When you're in the city, you easily spot the historical city hall, where you can visit the peace hall, for just 2€. Inside you can listen to the history of this room, and have a close look at the wooden panels.
Flynn T — Google review
On the east side of Prinzipalmarkt, the Historical City Hall is another symbol for Münster and one of the finest examples of secular Gothic architecture anywhere. The facade is jaw-dropping, and requires a few minutes for its tiers of traceried windows, ogival arches, gables and pinnacles. This all dates from the end of the 14th century, and reflects the confidence that Münster’s citizens had in their episcopal landowners. The Peace Hall inside is as old as the 1100s and is clad with wooden panels carved in 1577. The hall was where one of European history’s most important treaties was signed. In 1648 the Peace of Westphalia brought an end to the Thirty Years’ War and gave birth to the Netherlands as a nation after it broke from the Holy Roman Empire.

Freilichtmuseum Mühlenhof in Münster offers a hands-on experience of German history and culture through its open-air museum featuring around 30 half-timbered buildings dating from the 17th to the 19th century. Located near Munster Zoo and Lake Aasee, it provides insight into rural life with relocated historical buildings such as a windmill, chapel, blacksmith's forge, rural school, apiary, and village shops.
Entry ticket is only 6 euros, absolutely worth it. The territory overall is not too big, but it is a great place to visit with a family or friends. There are several authentic selling points of candles, bread, walnut oil etc. We tried bread from wooden stove, tastes amazing, totally recommend. Animals are super cute, clean and willing to pet.

The Mühlenhof open-air museum in Münster covers five hectares in the Sentrup district in the immediate vicinity of Aasee, the all-weather zoo and the LWL-Museum für Naturkunde, displaying the rural and artisan culture of the region for four centuries. Around 30 historic buildings were either moved from their original location to the Münster museum in Westphalia or rebuilt there based on old models. The interior furniture with historical collection gives an impression of the way of life and working methods of the people who were once at home here. Excellent place to enjoy with your family.

Super unique and oddly mesmerizing. Great atmosphere, beautiful square outside, and full of history. Even if you're not into churches, this one is worth the stop.

One of the biggest church in Germany, survived the bombing from the allied forces in WWII, a historical building that las for more than 600 years. This is the place that I finally had a service, to confess my sin with one of the pastor there after more than 1 decade. This church will be forever in my heart ❤️
Rafael K — Google review
I was inside. The church is nice but the astronomical watch is awesome! When I read about it more I had to come back and take a look at it once more. It is a piece of art. Just wait until a full hour or any quarter of an hour.

Visited St.-Paulus-Dom today and found it to be a truly impressive and peaceful place. The architecture is stunning, with towering stonework, vaulted ceilings, and intricate details that reflect its deep historical roots. You can really feel the weight of centuries as you walk through the space. Whether you're interested in history, architecture, or simply looking for a quiet moment of reflection, this cathedral is well worth a visit. A beautiful example of sacred design and cultural heritage.

Marvellous cathedral in an old town in Münster. If you are staying or travelling near this city, it is very worthwhile to make a visit and go through the old town and make your way to this old and impressive cathedral. It has a rich style of architecture and classic interior with interesting decorations. Normally it is free to enter into any cathedral, especially one that is old and is located in the old town (or old city - Altstadt). Each cathedral has its own amazing piece of history so if you have time, it is worth checking out.

One of the most beautiful churches I've ever seen. The architecture, the stained glass windows, the art inside are just amazing. The astronomical clock was my favorite part.

Wochenmarkt Münster - Interessengemeinschaft der Marktbeschicker Münster Westf. is a bustling open-air market that takes place on Wednesdays and Saturdays at Domplatz in Munster. With around 150 stalls, the market offers an array of fresh produce, flowers, meats, seafood, breads, cheeses, pastries, confectionery, oils, spices and even handicrafts like wickerwork and clothing.
What an amazing way to spend your Saturday! A friend took us. Fresh meat, fruit, flowers and many many more amazing things. The church as the back drop….so cool. Decent prices for the food.

A big weekly market with the background of classical beautiful Münster cathedral. Large varieties of fish, meat, fruit, vegetables, flower, food and beverage kiosks. The weekly market available on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Delicious choices of food and beverage. Lovely atmosphere to be explored.

Very Exceptional market, great place to eat and buy all kinds of food and plants.

Drove in for 9am to beat some of the crowds. Had to wait 5mins for a parking space right next to the market but more parking is available a short distance away. Well worth a visit, so much fresh food - fish, meats, bread and pastries as well as plants (both cut flowers and growing ones!) It got a lot busier after 10am so arrive early if you can. The rest of Munster was also great to have a stroll around
Mike R — Google review
It's quite expensive. Produce is fresh depending on which vendor you go to. They start early in the morning and wrap up mostly by 12:00/13:00 hrs. They mostly only accept cash.
Shrishti P — Google review
The biweekly farmers market of Münster is the perfect opportunity to get fresh and often local produce to prices, if you chose the right place to buy, that put supermarkets to shame. There is a wide variety of everything from the simple to the exotic. Add to that the many foodstalls that carter to almost any taste and you have a perfect example of what a market should be.
Manuel M — Google review
Best fresh produce, meats, hams, sausages, cheeses, breads, seafood, Asian spices, flowers, herbs, delicacies, fruits, juices and a galore of others anywhere!! 👏👏👏👌 Of course you can buy a little cheaper at supermarket or discounters, however the variety, freshness and friendliness of merchants makes it worth to become a regular visitor. It’s a must have seen botanical garden. Very tidy. They have worked a lot on it. There are many and many and many plants. If you want to visit it properly to see everything and learn and read, then maybe you need three hours. If you just want to pass by you half an hour. If you want to make a photo shoot inside, then you definitely need two hours. Everything looks great and when you turn your camera, it’s always best you can also do your wedding photography or a couple photography at there because the location is great if you have come to Minster and Love Nature you have to see this place definitely
Gökhan Ö — Google review
If you are passing by, it is definitely worth stopping by, the garden is beautiful. We were especially enchanted by the greenhouses, but the outside garden also has a lot to offer. At the time of our visit, the Chinese garden was under reconstruction, but we still enjoyed our visit. We spent about 3 hours here, but if the circumstances had allowed us, we would have stayed longer.

Delightful to the eyes, a very pleasant place to visit in town. There are many greenhouses full of stunning life and aromas. It seems a lot of people do hard work to keep that place the way it is, so be respectful when you visit. I'll definitely come back!

After walking round the city for a few hours, it was a real treat to go into the Botanical Gardens, situated in the grounds of the Schloss, close to the city centre. Entry is free, and it’s a very pleasant way to escape for an hour or two. Loads of beautiful plants and flowers, all well labelled (very helpful) outside and in greenhouses. Came away with plenty of photos and inspiration for our own garden.

The Westphalian State Museum of Art & Cultural History, located in the historic center of Basel, is a treasure trove showcasing art from the early medieval period to contemporary times. The museum's collection includes religious art such as the Liesborner Altar and panels from the Marienfelder Altar, both significant examples of Westphalian Late Gothic art.
Wow, wow, wow! I still can not believe what i visited today, it nothing short of incredible! One of the top museums in the country. Loved the buildings, love the cathedral views, loved the exibition, whoever put that one on is a genius. And loved the staff there, very nice and helpful people. Thank you all for making my day.
Antonija P — Google review
The museum has a long history but this new building was opened in 2014 and incorporates some details of old buildings. It has a nice mix of modern and older mostly religious art. There are some beautiful carved religious objects
Seimen B — Google review
This is an extraordinary museum - a must see! The architecture of the building itself is something you might see in a capital city; the collection curation like theatre; and the objects are both local and beautiful. All explained in German and English as standard.
Owen B — Google review
It's quite big, so it's best to have two hours to visit, as you might get lost if you're not paying attention. There are not only paintings but also sculptures, and sometimes there are exhibitions on different themes
Kammuri V — Google review
A fantastic collection from 10th century to present day, exhibited in a wonderful modern extension.
Michael M — Google review
Fantastic museum and worth the entry price of €9. The front desk staff were welcoming and the female staff in the museum rooms were exceptionally helpful and approachable with one exception, an older man who was both rude and verbally aggressive but don’t let him stop you from going. The collections are well documented and translated into three languages, English been one of them. It is a big museum but your entry ticket means you can come and go throughout the day. Backpacks are not allowed and can be put into lockers and cost €1 that you get back. The toilets are clean and there are seats in every room so when tired you can rest and take in the items on view in your own time. There are ramps and lifts and plenty of room to navigate if you are in a wheelchair however, not many of the works on view are at wheelchair eye view. Photographs are allowed as long as you don’t use a flash. The gift shop is expensive which is a shame as I would have loved to buy small gifts to give to people at home and the postcards didn’t seem to reflect what was in the museum unless I missed a whole section. In a nutshell - this is a must see museum with the added bonus that your ticket last for the whole day so you can come and go as you please.
N P — Google review
Large museum that you can spend hours at. The exhibitions change every few months and the current exhibition of 'nudes' was really interesting! Also every second Friday of every month is free entry after 6pm until midnight.

Stadtmuseum Münster is a museum that offers free admission and provides English audio guides for a small fee. It focuses on showcasing the history of Münster, with an emphasis on architecture, culture, history, and art. The museum features interactive exhibits and reconstructions such as a colonial shop and post-war cafe, making it engaging for both adults and children. Visitors can explore the city's story chronologically through modern displays and temporary exhibitions.
The Stadtmuseum is one of the nicest museums in Munster. It has an interesting permanent exhibition on multi levels connected by a winding staircase. You get a good impression of the history of the city that was badly damaged in WW2. The temporary exhibitions are worthwhile too
Seimen B — Google review
very interesting history museum that includes the whole history of the city. there are limited translations for most exhibits, but they will have the gist of it translated into Dutch, English, French and Polish. it's free too, which is a huge plus. it's definitely worth a visit, even if it's not your thing you can check it out. especially for the cool dioramas (some shown below).
Levinia — Google review
The Münster City Museum is worth a visit for at least a few reasons. Mainly because of the fact that it's the best way to learn about the history of the city and the whole Westphalia. The rooms and the tour route have been planned chronologically. Moreover, the Museum is very modern. Audioguides are available in almost all rooms. In some, there're also special reconstructions (e.g. a colonial shop or a post-war cafe). That can be interesting not only for adult visitors, but for children as well. In addition, the sightseeing is totally free. Thanks to this, without any costs, we're able to spend a free 2-3 hours in the city quite fruitfully.
Krystian P — Google review
Free art and also a collection that shows you the (political) history of the city. For example I have seen majors and also other prominent figures. This is also about how the city developped regarding buildings and stuff. For me this was a very nice experience.
Daniël J — Google review
Stadtmuseum Münster offers a solid overview of the city’s history, with some engaging exhibits and informative displays. The building itself is charming, and there are a few interactive elements that are fun for visitors. However, some sections felt a bit outdated, and the layout can be confusing. It’s worth a visit if you’re interested in local history, but it’s not a must-see compared to other museums in Münster.

Haus Rüschhaus is a charming baroque-style house museum located just 10 kilometers away from two castles that belonged to the von Droste-Hulshoff family, including the residence of the famous German poet Annette von Droste-Hulshoff. While it was closed during a visit due to Covid, the garden was still open for strolling and features beautiful statues and an old sundial.
I only visited the gardens. It was very beautiful and gives a nice idea of how this small place must have been in earlier times. It's quite secluded but still easy to find and arrive with the car, bike, or on foot. There are some beautiful statues in the garden and an old sundial. I couldn't read the time as the sun wasn't really up and the weather was overcast, but it was still a pleasant experience.

Beautiful castle with a lovely little botanical garden behind it. Sadly, it was difficult to get a good view of the castle because of several party tents and a construction lot in front of it - seems like a waste of the area's potential when there was a huge empty parking lot next to it they could have used instead..

Schloss Münster is now home to the local University. For this reason, there are not many objects to visit there (to find out something about its history, you need to go to the 'Stadtmuseum'). Standing at an impressive height of 8.75 meters and boasting a diameter of 24.3 meters, this formidable tower was once part of the city's robust fortification system known as Dat grote Bollwerk (the Big Bulwark).

It is suitable for visitors of all ages, offering virtual reality experiences with VR glasses to embark on a virtual journey and explore ancient graves.
I was amazed with the captions at the ground floor, very post-processual Archaeology. While, the basement (underground part) was sort of showing processual Archaeology, they have a mummy and many other objects. As a lecturer in the Archaeology Department (outside Germany), the exhibitions made me come back to past lectures about paradigm and theory in Archaeology. Amazing 😻

The museum is indeed a small one, as mentioned. When we entered, our expectation was to see findings related to the archaeology of the Münster region. However, most of the artifacts were from Anatolia, North Africa, or Egypt—either on loan or donated. Still, it was very informative. Most of the pieces also had explanations in English. I had seen many mummies when I visited Egypt, but seeing a real mummy in this free admission museum was truly a surprise. Set aside an hour, and if you are in Münster, make sure to visit this museum.

We really enjoyed the planetarium. I don’t know if they offer an english version. I speak not so good german and I could understand everything that they said, but even the non-german speakers can enjoy the scenery and kind of get what’s going on. The seats were really comfortable and you could move them around to watch. I do recommend being warm, because there was a cold breeze.

Before was much better, my experience today was very surprising, the man narrating the show, started it, then after 5 minutes, he stopped the show because of a mistake he did controlling the computer sequences of the video, I was very surprised but also very disappointed that me and my son paid almost 40 Euro for such situations, the man also tries to be too funny, but he is not funny, also for my consideration he talks much more if what must talk, he mentioned too often Münster, from Münster to the Universe, very many times showing a strange pride about the Planetarium is in Münster, He must mention Münster so oft, making the feel that we were in a very local installation of Münster with so much importance to the world, I say this because many other were commenting about this as well, saying fir example, WHAT A PITY THAT THE PLANETARIUM IS NOT IN BIELEFELD, etc, well, my son and myself left very irritated from this strange experience.

(Translated by Google) We've been to the planetarium several times to see different children's films and it's always been fun, most recently "The Olchis". Seeing a film in the dome is something special! On one occasion, after the film, the Münster starry sky was spontaneously explained to us and questions were answered. That was really wonderful! You have to lock jackets and bags in lockers, there are enough of them. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Buying tickets online beforehand is recommended, then they are secured.

(Translated by Google) We went to the live performance and were totally thrilled. The planetarium is very spacious and we were recommended to sit on the right side. The armchairs are very comfortable and the backrest can be reclined at the touch of a button (except in the last row). The show was great. You feel like you're flying through space. The speaker has a very pleasant voice and conveys his knowledge in an understandable and well-explained manner. Man fliegt gefühlt durchs Weltall. Der Sprecher hat eine sehr angenehme Stimme und bringt sein Wissen verständlich und gut erklärt rüber.

(Translated by Google) The video show in the Münster Planetarium is great in its presentation. You sit very comfortably under the large dome and feel like you are flying directly through space. I was particularly impressed by the virtual flight to Saturn and right through the ring of Saturn, where rocks and pieces of rock flew around your ears. The perfect video is made possible by using ten 4K projectors, which creates a fantastic wealth of images. There will definitely be another visit later... Das perfekte Video wird ermöglicht durch die Verwendung von zehn 4K-beamern, das gibt schon eine phantastische Bildfülle. Ein weiterer Besuch später wird es sicherlich noch mal geben..

The Toilet Facility on Cathedral Square, a unique installation from the 2007 Sculpture Projects Münster, transforms an often overlooked public restroom into a charming piece of art. Created by Hans-Peter Feldmann, this sculpture adds a touch of glamour to its surroundings while serving as a practical amenity for visitors exploring the bustling market that fills the square every Monday and Thursday.

Escape room center
I had my initial encounter in an escape room at TeamEscape Köln (Rheinauhafen) and it was absolutely captivating. This team building activity proved to be a delightful experience, with a well-crafted storyline that got us all excited. The establishment itself exuded modernity and the staff members were pleasant and supportive. I am definitely looking forward to returning in the future.
This is the best place in the whooole Köln. Guys trust me, you will have fun of your life. Staff? Top, Game? Top . Everything is perfect. Just try it!!!! It’s worth it🤍🤍🤍
Ek K — Google review
We finished the room on time and our guide was excellent. The reason for 4 stars and not 5 is because of the difficulty in understanding which clues to look for. We have done a lot of escape rooms and almost all of them have a clue that help you to find the central and important clue. We felt that this was missing.
Limomer G — Google review
I was expecting more from Germanies' escape rooms, but this was my most unsatisfied experience after playing escape rooms in Abu Dhabi, Moscow, Yerevan, and Larnaca. We played the Van Gog (Die Kunst des Stehlens) room Lots of locks with numbers. Lots of highlighted things are not usable at all. In most cases, you need to find numbers, and puzzles are so simply designed (but not easy) that you don't get satisfaction after finding the solution. Sometimes, you have to guess what number to use and what not to use. There were also handwritten texts with partially unclear words, which made difficulties at the end. Nobody was satisfied with the game in our team.
Sergey N — Google review
The place was great, it had mysterious vibes, people were friendly, we could get some snacks and drinks here as well. We had a lot of fun. It is also very close to central location. But the escape room was comparatively easy. There weren't a lot of puzzles and it is doable in 1 hour. It is great for beginners but if you into puzzles and have done some escape rooms before it will be easy for you.

Visited “Stunde des Grauens” in a team of three. It is a well thought out room with a good amount of riddles. Although our youngest player found the game quite scary, we would say it is more of a thriller rather than horror. Overall- a very pleasant experience. Many thanks to our lovely game master Hanna!

Outdoor swimming pool
Freibad Hiltrup is a spacious outdoor swimming area located next to a forest, offering multiple pools suitable for visitors of all ages. It's a popular spot with a diverse crowd, making it an ideal destination for families with toddlers. While the food options are limited and mostly unhealthy, the park itself is well-maintained and offers ample space for relaxation. Additionally, visitors can enjoy amenities such as a hydromassage pool.

The pools are nice and the couple of slides are fun. The staff at the food serving counter were very rude although the woman taking the orders was pleasant. Need to get there early to get a decent place. Even then you still get rude people setting up pretty much on top of you. A friend also found used sanitary pads stuck to the walls inside some of the changing rooms.

The outdoor pool itself deserves 5 stars, BUT the blonde employee ruined everything. We had our class party and played on the slide like human children, sitting on it and staying in the middle, and every time someone came along, we made room. But suddenly she turned off the water and said she'd been waiting for us, even though she hadn't, and had said get out, but that was nice. There were six of us. Then we wanted to get something to drink, and then she came over and said if you don't get out now, then it'll be a mess. The mother of a friend of mine also yelled at her, but she still said GET OUT. We even paid for the entrance fee. Disgraceful 😤😤😤😡😡😡 (Original) The outdoor pool itself deserves 5 stars BUT the blonde employee ruined everything.
