Playa de la Barrosa is a 6km-long beach known for its historical significance as the site of the Battle of Barrosa. It is considered one of the best beaches in Spain, featuring fine sand, clear water, and stunning sunsets. The beach offers various activities such as swimming and surfing. The nearby area of Chiclana boasts luxury hotels, golf courses, and a flourishing tourist scene. Visitors can enjoy morning walks and hiking in the surrounding marshes and pine forests.
Absolutely amazing beach any time of year 😍
Eileen A — Google review
The beach is really nice, there is some places to enjoy a drink or explore local food but the most interesting is the white sand and the blue water, I really enjoyed my time there and I will come back.
Jose M — Google review
By far the best beach we visited near Cádiz! The sea was a bit wavy but so much fun to swim in. The water temperature was just perfect – not too cold, not too warm. The coastline is long and peaceful, with a really relaxing vibe
Saba — Google review
Amazing, smooth sand, sea temperature in October was better than expected, several nice chirinquitos around. Free parking in october and accessibility
Adam — Google review
Amazing beach, very clean with excellent facilities. ( Great for sunsets too 😉 )
Del E — Google review
The most wonderful beach, especially for children as it slopes so gently. It is quite windy so lots of waves but i seriously suggest long hair is tied back or it will be stuck to your sun lotioned face and lip balm. Glorious sunsets here too. We went in October, the sea was warm and the beach almost deserted. Perfect. Excellent free parking and small play areas dotted about.

Very nice place! Good good and quality in service. Nice atmosphere, easy to talk, the music is not too loud. Nice place to chill and enjoy with friends and family.

We paid pool day in advance. We liked the concept of pool and restaurant cause we went to vidit Cadiz. At the lunch time we went to the restaurant to eat something. After they accommodate us we waited for food order around 30 minutes. After less then 10 minutes 2 courses came, and we were still waiting for remaining 2 dishes. The rest of the food arrived after more then 30 minutes and after we reminded waiter that there is food missing. Burger that we ordered was burned from the outside and rare inside (even tho nobody asked us how we would like it cooked). Chicken was also very bad prepared. We asked the waiter to do something about it and they brought us new one which was also bad in taste. Since we seat down staff was avoiding us, we guess because non of them speaks English except one waiter. When we asked the other one he said in Spanish that he will send another colleague who speaks English. We said that we can order in Spanish but he still didn’t want to serve us. Everyone else got bread basket at the table except us (and they charge that 8€ for 4 of us). When we asked for the bill, waiter asked us did we enjoyed it, where specifically we said what we didn’t like, he said that there was problem in the kitchen. We explained that that is not the problem and that he just could inform us about it. Waiter again forgot about the bill and started cleaning tables. He noticed that we were looking at him, but decided to ignore us. I asked for the bill again. We stayed in a restaurant more then 2 hours for 4 dishes without any starter, with no AC and everyone ignoring us. We received only sarcastic apology from waiter and noticed everyone looking at us when we were returning to the pool. We stayed hungry, with a very bad experience and we would NEVER recommend this place to any foreigner. Money is not the issue and we wanted desserts but after treatment we get we decided not to.

This beach club is a hidden gem. With its stunning ocean views, attentive service, and superb amenities, it offers an unforgettable seaside experience. Whether you're seeking relaxation, delicious cuisine, or luxury party with your friends, this beach club has it all with different ambient zones. Atenas is a must-visit!!

Beautiful setting. Seafood rice came with 1 langostino and 1 scallop €24! We were the only people in the restaurant, having booked a table for 3. Our friend joined us for a drink while we were waiting for our food and she was asked to leave. So disappointing. Max was a lovely waiter but he was taken from our table and replaced by someone who acted like we were an inconvenience. Service needs to be improved. This place has the potential to be a fabulous venue.

Top Bar and Restaurant at the end of Playa Barrosa. Beautiful Garden with different styles of tables... Lounge, table and chairs, bar tables, stairs... Awesome view to the sea. Put a nice dress on and take your coat with you because at the evening there may be some fresh air. Elevated place.
Charli B — Google review
Stopped here for some drinks in the afternoon. Lovely ambience with live music and although we didn’t try the food it did look really good so we will book here for dinner the next time we come. Great views of the bay too.

First time here at Atenas playa. Lovely location overlooking la Barrosa beach. Decor was good. Staff were very helpful and friendly making service excellent 👌. Food was delicious. We had the cheese board to share and vegetable lasagna to share. We finished with coffee and carrot cake 🍰. Weather was good.

Great place to enjoy the beach breeze atop the cliff at la playa. Saltwater pool, drinks, all at reasonable price. Off season perfection. Looks like it has some great nightlife.

VAVÁ Playa La Barrosa is a luxurious beach club located in the beautiful coastal area of Cádiz. It offers a variety of experiences, from enjoying globally influenced cuisine and cocktails to relaxing on daybeds while listening to live music acts. The beach club provides a touch of glamour to your vacation with comfortable and modern amenities such as sun beds and an open, lively atmosphere. While it's recommended to make reservations for sun beds, the food is highly praised for its quality.
It’s been a while since I’ve tasted food this good. We tried the risotto and dumplings and then dessert was the banana cake. 10/10 for everything ! Our waitress was also extremely helpful and nice !

Would definitely not go there if you want a good burger. I ordered the one and only burger they had on their menu for 18€. When I ordered it the server asked me how I wanted the burger done and I told him it should be well done. In the pictures below you can see that the burger I got was definitely not well done and for sure does not look like fresh meat. I sent the burger back twice after it being still raw after I sent it back the first time. After the third time they served me my burger, the plate was incredibly hot, so I have to ask myself if that meat was just microwaved in the back or not. Besides the raw meat, the burger really did not look like was worth 18€ - no sauce and barely any vegetables. After talking to the manager there and showing the pictures of what I was served, I only had to pay the drink I had with it.

Great beach bar. Went there three times during our months stay in Sancti Petri. The bar area serves a great array of drinks and the service is very good, if not great. We had lunch one day in the upstairs area. The food and service unfortunately wasn’t as expected. The food was somewhat bland and the service slow. That said I’d recommend it for a drink at the very least. The beach is superb. We’ll try it again for sure.

Service not so great. The place itself is nice. Directly located next to dunes on the beach. Loved it.

Amazing place with great ambience and superb service. Special mention to the kitchen staff, who fulfilled every wish and food requirement we had due to allergies. Really recommendable. Thanks a lot.

Great beach & beach club. They have sun beds available, reservation is ideal. ( we found avail without reservation) Food is perfect. Its really hard to park around so make sure to arrive early or you might have to walk a km from your parking slot. Bring your own towels.

The Salinas de Chiclana amusement center offers a variety of amenities including a spa complex, farm, restaurant, and salt flats. Visitors can indulge in the relaxation of the salt flats with prior reservation and later savor delicious dishes at the restaurant. The staff provides excellent service and the food is of high quality and quantity at reasonable prices. The seafood is particularly fresh as it comes from their own estuaries.

(Translated by Google) A fantastic experience. The mud circuit and the swim in the salt pool were very relaxing and different, perfect for unwinding. The food afterward was top-notch, tasty and beautifully presented. The service was also extremely friendly, which made the visit even more enjoyable. Highly recommended for a unique day out, eager to return again. (Original) Una experiencia fantástica. (Translated by Google) A 100% recommended plan. It was my anniversary plan with my girlfriend: a visit to the salt flats + mud and mega-salty water baths + massage + lunch, all for €70 and 10p.m. The visit was very pleasant and entertaining; it didn't seem long at all. The baths were very unusual and fun. You can do it however you want, but my girlfriend and I applied the mud first; my girlfriend even put mud in her hair, "Oh my God!" We rinsed off in the showers, and after the massage, we went into the salt water. It's so salty that you float a lot and the wounds sting. But what really matters: after all this, your skin is soft and surely more nourished. Afterwards, you go to the building where everything is located and you can shower in the changing rooms. Once we were clean, we went to lunch, and the set menu seemed 10p.m. Everything was delicious, and we ended up feeling full. I especially liked the garum salad. The only downside I noticed was that it took a long time to serve us, but everything else was great. I recommend it to all couples and even families or groups of friends; it's quite good value. (Original) Un planazo 100% recomendable.

(Translated by Google) I thought it was a 10/10 place! Everything was absolutely spectacular, both the location, which is idyllic, and above all the service! I'm a demanding person because I like what's good and professional, and they delivered on everything in spades. Jesús, the waiter, is incredible; he helped us a lot with his suggestions on how to order. And then Román, on the grill, has a divine touch. Both of them had exceptional human qualities. And Paco, the owner, despite not having met him often, is clearly a great person, very attentive to detail. The other waiters and the people we met were all very friendly. The food was a pleasure for the senses, from the samphire fritters with potatoes, the chickpeas with seaweed, the croquettes (all of them), the sea bass with bacon (insane), and the desserts... wow, cheesecake and brownie!! Very, very delicious! Honestly, I've been exploring magical places in Cádiz for a long time, and this one has jumped straight into my top 3, if not 1. With spa and massage options, salt harvesting, flamenco on Wednesday nights... a treat for the senses. RECOMIENDO 1000%

(Translated by Google) The visit was fantastic. The information was very useful. I'm not giving it 5 stars because we had booked a massage and they never found it on the list. If you book a massage online, call and make sure they have it listed because you go there and they just tell you, "Sorry, you're not listed." They refunded your money and that's it. The restaurant food was delicious, and the restaurant staff. Spa-like. Very friendly. The experience is recommended, but there are some flaws that could be improved. (Original) La visita estupenda .

(Translated by Google) I've been a customer since they opened, and at another time I would have given them a 5-star rating. I was there last weekend, and the truth is, the service leaves a lot to be desired. This is the second time this has happened, but seeing that it's even worse than the last time, I'm writing. I don't know if the waiters are learning, because they act as if they don't have much of an idea. We waited for over 20 minutes to be asked for drinks, and we had to get up to ask for service. We were sitting outside, and there were only four tables occupied. The terrace isn't big enough to make it hard to see all the tables, and even then, they told us they hadn't seen us. We had to ask three times for bread. They started bringing the dishes before the drinks and appetizers. We ordered croquettes, and the insides were cold and soggy, as if they had been frozen and not fried properly. (That's not the waiters' fault; it might be a matter of the kitchen's organization.) We also wanted to order more drinks, but since they didn't appear on the terrace, nothing happened. We finished, got up, and paid at the bar. We went to the spa, and before we got back home, lunch had an effect on us. I don't know if it was the scramble or something, but both of us ended up with upset stomachs. I feel sorry because it's a beautiful place and the food has always been very good and the service is perfect, but honestly, the service hasn't been good for a while now, and the waiters act as if they don't know what they're supposed to be doing. I feel sorry for them because they're very young and are probably learning, but they look lost. Accessible restroom: A disaster. The seat where you sit was loose, so who wants to sit there? Because yes, in an accessible restroom, people usually need to sit down. The shower had a hose, but no shower head, and the shower head was lying somewhere else. No soap, toilet paper, or hand sanitizer. The other restrooms were perfect, but the accessible restroom was terrible. As for the spa, it's fine. It's business as usual, although some guests think they're in a water park instead of enjoying the natural, peaceful surroundings, and instead start screaming and shouting. That's not the owners' fault. The surroundings are beautiful, although the area where the animals are kept looks a bit neglected.

The Centro de Interpretación del Vino y la Sal in Chiclana offers a simple yet informative look into the processes involved in making wine and salt, two products deeply connected to the town's history. The museum features photographs, educational displays, audiovisual resources, and tools that showcase the rich heritage of winemaking and salt mining in Chiclana. Visitors can explore interactive panels and a shop where they can purchase local wines, various salts, honey, and souvenirs.
Very useful information about the salt extraction and wine making in the area. I would recommend not to skip it, especially if you visit the Natural Park. However, I am not sure whether there is any English translation available. There's a small gift shop with good options for buying the locally produced salt, and a huge selection of local wine. Would definitely recommend a visit as these are an essential part to understanding the region.

The Museo Municipal Fco. Montes Paquiro, also known as Casa Natal y Museo del Torero de Chiclana El Paquiro, is a well-preserved and fascinating destination for bullfighting enthusiasts. The owner's hospitality adds to the overall experience. The museum staff is friendly and accommodating, making it easily accessible for visitors with baby carriages or wheelchairs through the presence of an elevator.
(Translated by Google) You don't have to be a fan of bullfighting to enjoy the exhibition in this very atmospheric little museum. In each of the four rooms you can feel the fascination associated with bullfighting in Spain. The museum's keeper is an older gentleman who warmly welcomes visitors to the house. The money for admission (adults €2, children and pensioners €1) is well spent.

(Translated by Google) Something more than a bullfighting museum. It reflects the social, popular and customs environment from the 19th century to modern times. The collections on display (both bullfighting motifs and period furniture) are of great value. A magnificent corner where we can recover our history and traditions. Special mention to the work of Pedro, architect and alma mater of the Museum. For many years. (Original) Algo más que un museo taurino. (Translated by Google) Let's just say it was a peculiar experience. After a great adventure, we reached the goal of our journey: the trampolines. The park is great; it's large, fun, and diverse. You'll probably tire before you get to try everything. Without a doubt, the best are the boxing, for kicking asses, and the zip line (as long as you know how to jump well and are skilled). The instructors are lovely, very nice and friendly, amazing people. They're very helpful and very kind considering how tiresome we Cordobans are. We would definitely go back, although the location is a bit out of reach if you want to do more. Pd: Ji ome

Thank you so much for all your help. The facilities are really cool, and the service is fantastic. You can tell they're people who want to do things right. 100% recommended. (Translated by Google) Beautiful natural area surrounded by pine trees and flora. I have gone for a walk or a bike ride many times to clear my head. At the top, going up the paths, is one of my favorite viewpoints in Chiclana, La Espartosa, where there is also a picnic area. From there you can see all the green tops of the pine forest, as well as the Bay of Cádiz, the Constitution Bridge, the Santa Ana Hermitage, Chiclana or Medina. (Translated by Google) The facilities on the boat were good, except that kitchen utensils, cutlery, etc. were a little dirty. But without a doubt what I liked the least is that we were simply going for 3 days, it was a trip with friends, and the truth is that the boss Juan Carlos did not make us feel comfortable. Starting because he didn't want to pick us up at the next cove, which was 5 minutes away in Dingui, saying that it was not possible, that we should find our way, when we asked the rescue people and they confirmed that it was possible and we also saw other private Dinguis who entered without problem. Afterwards we even felt uncomfortable asking him to take us closer to the shore, or to take us to a cove or beach closer to where we had dinner reserved, having to spend extra money on taxis. He even told us as a "joke" that he wanted to lose sight of us. One day, when we were given a pick-up time of 2 or 8 am, at 2 o'clock there was no sign of life, which could be because our cell phone was on silent, but the truth is that it leaves a lot to be desired, we felt like cigarette butts. . Needless to say, we were always going at 3 knots of speed and sometimes under sail and he charged us €100 for fuel, something that seems excessive to us to be honest. In general, if you are young people wanting to spend some fun days, Juan Carlos would not recommend him as your boss, he would have a better family atmosphere (Original) Las instalaciones del barco estaban bien, salvo que utensilios de la cocina, cubiertos etc estaban un poco sucios.
