Very nice outdoor space with a good bar lounge self service restaurant, a museum and botbical garden to visit. In the summer great place for events or picnics. Its on cross roads of several bycile routes. For wheelchair there are facilities. For the small kids there are special routed with info. Overall a great site to spend some hours you learn someting good view with a nice drink.

Beautiful historical abbey on the outskirts of Hasselt. Perfect location for a nice walk (even from the car park to the abbey you already pass some cows) or bicycle ride. There is also a nice bar/restaurant with an outdoor playground (our boys loved the place!), so the abbey and surrounding area are definitely worth a visit. The onsite bookshop was also very nice offering a variety of books for children of all ages...

In general, it has been a delightful evening, and the music performance was absolutely fantastic. However, sitting at the far back, I couldn't help but wish for a method to distribute the sound more evenly, reaching all the corners of the venue.

Herkenrode Abbey has a small museum, (herb) garden, and organizes exhibitions. There also is a small playground. The surrounding countryside is great for walks, with several walking paths of different length, but there is a lot of noise from the nearby highway.

Beautiful old setting for a medieval festival, restored with care and plenty of modern amenities for visitors. The childrens bookshop is especially impressive.

Lovely spot in the city center. I wish they would have told me that half the museum was closed due to a new exhibit going in before I purchased a ticket. I saw what was on display in about 30 minutes. It wasn’t expensive so there’s that. Nice space. Friendly staff. They have a coat rack for your stuff. Overall a nice outing at I did peak in at the new exhibit they were working on and it looks really cool. Want to go back again for sure.

Disappointing art collection in the basement. I know that Art is not up for discussion but what was shown on the ground floor is really not worth the hefty entrance fee. First floor was more interesting but overall not recommended.

A new aisle was inaugurated and gives a fresh perspective to the museum. Staff also very nice, helped me fînd my way in the museum. If you go to to Hasselt, this is a must-see!

It costed 5€ for a student ticket, when the rest of the museums in Hasselt cost 3€. This would not have been so bad if half of the museum was closed, so we finished the visit in 20 minutes. Also, it would be nice that the info of the paintings was in English, instead of only depending on the brochure.

Bokrijk Open-Air Museum exceeded my expectations! With over 150 authentic buildings, it's a vast and immersive experience that transports you back in time. From historic homes and farms to working watermills and traditional crafts, there's so much to explore. The attention to detail and sensory experiences make it a standout destination. A must-visit for history buffs, architecture enthusiasts, and anyone looking for a unique Family day out in Belgium! Parking is 5 eur, entrance fee 17 eur pp, and very much worth it. Don't skip the bread tasting at the bakery ;)

Interesting and super nice road into history. Lots of things to see and do for families, also small ones. Roads are all accessible. Workshops for kids are very nice. Take into account that it takes 3-4 hours do it at all at minimum. At the entrance though the weed could be cut. Very nice place to spend a sunday with the family.

Awesome open air museum. All the information boards are available in English. Only a few videos in Dutch were not available in English. We met one awesome worker (a baker) who spoke very good English who we talked with for a while. The site is huge. We probably saw a little over half of it on our day there. I especially liked the 60s section. Be prepared for lots of walking.

This place is a little (big) gem. Great for a fun day out with the kids with plenty to do and space to run around without costing too much (€37 for a family). We were there for 4 hours and didn't manage to see it all. Lots of playing games and exploring the old ways of life. There's also an amazing separate huge park/playground in the site (free). Parking is a reasonable €5. Really happy we came. Had a great time

A great place to spend your weekend! At first I thought it would be just another boring museum, but it turned out to be really interesting. We really enjoyed seeing different master classes like how to make ropes, oils from the flaxseeds and nuts. We even tried their local bakery goods, and they were delicious 👍🏻 We also loved playing games, it was really fun and entertaining. During our walk between the houses, we saw not just the architecture of the houses, but also the everyday life of local peasants like a teacher, a priest, a housewife and a gardener. It was really fun to watch their acting. Besides that, there are lots of live animals, all are very well cared for. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The parking costs 5€, and the horse carriage ride 5€ per person. The price of the ticket is 17€ and it is definitely worth it.

Lovely experience, we were here for an afternoon as left it rather late, in not the best of weather. An entire day would have been better. We spoke english and found it easy to navigate. The restaurant served lovely food in nice surroundings. The whole family got a quick go at spinning a clay pot. I read some of the more negative reviews out of curiosity and honestly they're unrecognisable to the place I visited which was freindly with a number of interesting exhibits. To note visited with autistic child and found it friendly and welcoming with enough to engage, the site is quite large so plan accordingly.

In August 2023 it's under renovation on the outside, but it didn't impact the visit inside at all. There are many paintings around, both on the walls and standing at man height, some sculptures and a massive organ where you would expect it to be. There was some choral music being played which helped creating an ambience, but the church lacked charm and seemed rather new. Some kind of explanation was totally missing as well. Would still go in if visiting Hasselt since there is no ticket/entrance fee.

Hasselt is highly recommended city to visit. It's not biggest but very nice atmosphere, like in Netherlands. Clean and nice. Restaurants, tourism.

Quiet place where you can find yourself

One of my absolute favorites. Amazing mix of styles, impressive organ. Top landmark in Hasselt, surviving in a once cosy town centre increasingly covered by out if proportion concrete building projects.

Is a beautiful Curch and I liked the mass there. Without chorus only the sound of the organ ... indescribable!

Museum is ok for adults, it is unfortunately not a suitable place for children. There are little to no activities aimed at younger visitors, making it difficult to keep them engaged. For families looking for an interactive or child-friendly experience, this museum may not be the best choice. Perhaps the museum could consider adding a dedicated children’s area or special activities to make it more appealing to a wider audience.

Not a big place , but loads of options to keep a 4 year old busy for 3-4 hours. There are options to eat inside. You do pay extra for the parking around €12.5 . We were able to find discounted tickets on groupon

We had such an amazing day at Plopsa Indoor! The kids had a blast playing non-stop, and honestly, I had just as much fun watching them enjoy every moment. We were lucky to go on a super hot day, so the outdoor water fountain area was perfect — they could cool down and play for hours. Everything was clean, safe, and so much fun. Definitely a place we’ll be visiting again soon!

We took our granddaughters to this place. I worried when we arrived because most children seemed to be the age of 4-6. Our granddaughters are 8 and 11. They however had a wonderful time. They loved the swings and the rollercoaster. The falling tower was also a big success, and so was the rocking ship. We were there for 6 hours, so that should tell you something. 😉 We had lunch, but I would recommend taking your own food. The place was clean, and although it was inside, the noise level was very tolerant. There are water fountain outside that the children can play in, so take a towel and a set of dry clothes. Our granddaughters were disappointed that they could not play on the water. We had a wonderful time, even if it is supposed to be more for younger children, our granddaughters had a blast.

This is a upscale indoor playground at best, and you pay the plopsa brand premium. We had to pay 29 euros per ticket at the door, and we where disappointed in the vallue we received for it. The playground is nice, but not that nice, within 2 hours our daughter was done with everything and we where out again. The rollercoaster is a nice feature, bit for the price you better go to the real plopsaland outdoor, as there at least you get some valkue for money. It would be nice if either only 1 parent has to pay or parents go in free like on all the regular indoor playground. 2 stars for the luxere setup but not worth the money...

Very nice place, easy parking and friendly staff.Family-friendly park, themed around Maya and Bumba characters, I'd say more oriented towords younger kids.There's a fast-food restaurant on site which, as expected, is pretty expensive for what you get. Parking costs 12.5 euro, for lockers you have to pay 6 euro. My daughter and I enjoyed every minute. Definitely worth it surely recommend it.

On a week day (Wednesday) perfect if you don’t have to wait in line for anything! Perfect for kids from 100cm tall they can get in all of the attractions and as an adult you can too and some of them are cool! We loved it!!

Nice area for walking and cycling. We went the yellow 3.4km walking route (Bokrijk-Kiewit) is paved which was good for our two kids with the step and small bike. I'm guessing that the path can get busy quickly, as it is shared, but it was good today

Amazing place for weekend trip with family friends or girlfriend and kids. Nature is amazing u can walk u can ride bike also make picnic. Chill out in the restaurant on the fresh air grab a beer and cool down u soul. I will recommend this place I live in Germany and I was first time here but I hope not the last one:) Beautiful castle lakes. And this main lake with the path in the middle I read somewhere is on the list top 100 places to see in the world. I spent there at least 3 h just to chill out and be more close to the nature. If u will have opportunity to go there just do it :) thanks

Cycling through water was definitely a great experience! Super relaxing atmosphere, very quiet, you can hear lots of bird sounds. I enjoyed it despite it not being sunny, the reflection of the clouds on the water was very beautiful, also the view points at the end of the lakes were nice.

It’s very beautiful place which u can bicycle “door het water” and also hike in that very quite place. You ll be alone with the silence of nature. Parking place for cars are available at the entrance. There is also a cafe that u can rest, snack or drink.

We never did so many museums before, as the weekend we stayed in Hasselt. The Modemuseum was one of them. Beautiful Museum! Was nice to experience how it would be as a behind the scenes photographer. Didn't have the waw-effect though. But it was okay!

Don’t worry about parking place for your car because that’s enough for everybody. If you need to refuel your energy, you can go visit the restaurant that is inside the park.

I love the location as I go there very often, but Sparkx gives me many more reasons to go! with all honesty, there is (always) room for fixes when it comes to tech, but it's currently in a testing phase, so I don't mind that much! the fixes are minor in my opinion. it was a very fun experience. highly recommend to go for 4 hours if you want to try everything! 2 hours won't be enough for the whole experience. I'm very impressed, so I'm getting myself a season pass next time I jump in. as an everyday runner, I love to do some other sports every now and then. Sparkx makes that possible at one place at a time! love it. some things are intense so you'll get sweaty here and there. they have a healthy restaurant serving smoothies, salads, poke bowl-ish dishes (if i remember correctly) fruits, and wraps! they are veggie friendly (vegan not quite sure yet, since I haven't checked it thoroughly, but I believe the allergies/ingredients were listed on their menu's) they serve beverages such as soda's, waters and alcohol. there are a couple vending machines with drinks so if you get thirsty, (bet you will!!) you won't have to go all the way back unless you're hungry. they have a small merch shop too! last but not least, this place has lockers, changing rooms, restrooms and showers. :)

What a nice experience at Jumpsquare! Even though it is a bit on the pricy side, 38 euros for 90 mins jumping for 2, you will forget about it as soon as you enter the arena. So many possibilities here, from a ninja speed course to a sumo wrestling fight to a huge air bag to some ball games, everything is possible here. I came with my nephew and I was the oldest on the trampolines but that doesn’t matter, it is for all ages. Included in the price is a pair of anti-slip branded socks. Would come back here!
