Nature & Parks
Forests
Dzintari Forest Park is a must-visit attraction in Jurmala, offering a serene escape from the beach. The park boasts pathways and tranquil forest vibes, making it an ideal spot for relaxation. Visitors can marvel at two-hundred-year-old pine trees and the bilberry bush while enjoying various leisure activities. Infrastructure objects are evenly distributed throughout the park, connected by wooden board footpaths raised above the ground.
Dzintari Forest Park is a lovely park near the beginning of Jurmala's main street, Jomas iela. The park has a great viewing tower (climb up and see the city from the top!), playgrounds for children of various ages, pavements for roller skaters and pedestrians, a skate park, streetball courts, cafes, parking lots, and public toilets.

First time and it was good and amazing. A place for kids to go and have fun. I tried a view tower, and it was good. Walking and enjoying
Arnis D — Google review
Amazing park especially for kids. The view from the observation tower is totally worth it.
Yash U — Google review
Great place for families with small kids. A huge selection of different attractions and playgrounds accordingly to age. My 6 years old loves this place and likes to challenge himself on Tarzan lines. We been going there for years when visiting Jurmala. Highly recommended for families with kids any age.
Nadezda M — Google review

One more place to visit free of charge. To get to know about fishery in Latvia in the last centuries. This place is located on the entry into a pine forest and dunes.
Olya — Google review
Relatively small open air museum related to Latvian fishing history (18-20 centuries). Free admission.
מרק ס — Google review
Small collection of 18-19th century well restored houses, as well as a few remains of 18 th century boats and anchors. 2 swings for kids at the end of exposition. It is fine to attend if you are walking in the dunes, but does not require to drive specifically for this reason.
Nadezda M — Google review
Worth the visit, is travelling to what would be like to live in a fishermen village
Nuno N — Google review
Free museum, it was quite interesting to visit. Many authentic appliances and buildings. We spent around 15 minutes there, kids would really enjoy interactive steel drums there. If you don't have any plans on what to do in Jūrmala, it could be a cool place to visit in the way to the sea (which is around 700 meters away through the path in a beautiful forest).
Simona V — Google review
Great open-air museum, worth going such a long way from Riga. Exhibition is free for all visitors and has some very interesting artifacts such as boats, deep water wrecks, anchors and all fishing related stuff. If you come from Riga, the best way is to take train to Majori, have a stroll on the beach, then take a bus (3,4,5 or 7) from the main road to Bulluciems and switch for bus no. 1 to the end. Then walk approx. 10-15 minutes. On the way back, take bus 1 to Lulliepa Stacija and train back to Riga.

Cute little museum. The entrance is free. Guided tour is 8 euro per person. You will find also English explanations.

Okay museum, it's nice to get to know something about the history of the beach culture of the area. It's pretty small and nothing extraordinary, but the entrance is free.
Kristýna V — Google review
Lovely museum which provides a good introduction to Jurmala. Free entry and 3 different exhibitions means it's great value and not to be missed.
David P — Google review
It is free to visit. On the ground floor there is a small permanent exhibition about the development of Jūrmala as a resort, and upstairs there are two rooms with temporary art exhibitions. It is very near to the Majori train station and worth a short visit.
David W — Google review
Nicely presented history of Jurmala. At first you will see how people lived here at photos and some short stories. On 2nd floor theee are paintings from Latvia artist from last few years It’s for free💰 Should takes from 30-45min⏱️ Souvenir shop doesn’t have magnets 🧲😞
Victor L — Google review
The museum is free. You can enjoy the permanent exhibition which is mostly focused on Jūrmala being a popular resort, and a number of temporary exhibitions on both floors. Museum shop offers rather standard stuff like postcards, magnets and books, but there are hidden gems like handmade ceramics, jewelry etc for very affordable price.
Stacie E — Google review

Nature & Parks
Ķemeri National Park, situated near Jurmala, is a vast nature reserve with diverse ecosystems and wildlife. The park boasts numerous rivers and lakes that contribute to its expansive landscape. Visitors can explore the historical Kemeri Park with Water Tower, which has been restored to its former glory after extensive reconstruction in 2021.
Just an hour’s drive from Riga is Ķemeri National Park. Established in 1997, this 381.65 km2 park, the third largest in Latvia, consists mainly of forests (57%), peatlands (24%) and bodies of water – lakes, rivers, sulphur springs and sea (10%). Two locations are definitely worth a visit: Lake Kaņieris, a Ramsar site, is exceptionally rich in waterfowl, and the lake-flecked Great Ķemeri Bog. Ķemeri National Park is a true paradise for nature lovers.
Koen — Google review
Amazing place! Beautiful wooden boardwalks through the bog, a scenic tower with stunning views, fresh air and peaceful silence. Especially magical at sunrise. Easy to reach from Riga. In summer, bring mosquito spray. A perfect spot to experience Latvia’s nature. Highly recommend!
BigMig — Google review
This is for us the most beautiful place in all Latvia. Such a peaceful walk full of birds singing and spectacular nature. I could walk here for hours and not get tired of it.
Silvia B — Google review
Beautiful and peaceful. An hour long walk through beautiful forest and bog. To parents with small kids - the path is too narrow to walk with a stroller, leave it in the car.
Jānis R — Google review
A great place for a day trip from Riga or a peaceful stop along the way, offering a pleasant walk in beautiful nature. The paths are well-kept, with benches available here and there to rest, and a viewing tower to take in the surroundings.
Kasia C — Google review
Excellent walking trails. €3/hr parking is very expensive thou. Make sure you bring some insect repellents ☝️
Oleg A — Google review
This is one of those places that i was told is “all over instagram and you have to go”. Its quite a nice walk through the forest and then along the planks of wood that just keep you above the boggy water. Eventually you will reach a viewing platform where the view was amazing. Why i have rated this 4 stars is due to the public toilets. There are 4 portable style toilets at the parking and one not too much further into the forest. These toilets were a disgrace. The smell and cleanliness of these were disgusting and ruined the overall experience. Pointer….. go to the toilet before going

Conference center
Event venue
Nestled in the picturesque Jurmala, the Dzintari Concert Hall stands as a beacon for music lovers and culture enthusiasts alike. This iconic venue has been hosting events since the last century, evolving into one of Latvia's most cherished concert spaces. Visitors can immerse themselves in a vibrant array of performances, especially during special occasions like the Christmas Festival running until January 7th.
Nice concert place. We got there after a heavy rain and thanks to warmers from a ceilings got dry very fast. Comfortable seats and great acoustic sound all around the hall and surrounding areas. Place has cafe that work before and during the performances. VOP area with first class service is available as well.
Nadezda M — Google review
Amazing concerts and all summer activities. Great performers, excellent food and drink choices. Right by the sea and the freshest air on earth
Katerina S — Google review
Very beautiful concert hall in center of Jurmala. Not been inside of Dzintari Concert hall for at least 10 years. My last visit to Latvia I decided to take my whole family to Raimonds Pauls concert. The venue is very beautiful, many decorative flower sun-beds, Jurmalas sign and small gardens. Concert was amazing, the first part of the show was local orchestra and local bands, and second part was maestro Raimonds Pauls. Also even it was June it felt cooler and we all took our jackets but still was chilly, so it's something to consider. Because concert hall is open air with the cover but still there is a lot of crosswinds. The only thing we didn't like the line to the bathroom was very long.
Swanky C — Google review
KGB security wouldn’t let people dance on Morcheeba show. This venue is maybe good for Maksim Galkin standup, but not for this. Morcheeba, let’s meet somewhere else!
Evgeny G — Google review
Located on the territory of Mezha Park. At the time of the visit was closed, July 4, 2025. Traces of repair and restoration work are visible. Conveniently located, fresh air, beautiful forest nature, satisfactory infrastructure.
Viacheslav F — Google review
Honestly,a really nice concert hall! No complaints :)
Brownie C — Google review
The hall is nice and fancy. We'll decorated and located right on the beach of Jurmala. There are many caffees and restaurants outside.
Yaron B — Google review
Dzintari Concert Hall is the heart of Jurmala’s cultural life. We attended several events this summer Semyon Slepakov’s concert, a beautiful symphony orchestra performance, and the vibrant Laima Rendezvous Festival. Every evening was full of joy, laughter, and heartfelt emotions. The atmosphere in the hall is always warm and welcoming, and the audience is truly grateful. Thanks to Dzintari Hall, so many incredible artists come to Jurmala and people from everywhere come here to feel this magic. We always book our tickets in advance sometimes as early as March, April, or even December! We’re already looking forward to coming back next year.

Water & Amusement Parks
Līvu Akvaparks, situated in the resort town of Jurmala, is a major draw for tourists visiting this coastal city. As one of the largest water parks in Northern Europe, it offers an 18,000 m2 area of aquatic fun and entertainment that can be enjoyed year-round. Visitors can experience a wide range of attractions suitable for all ages, from thrilling slides to relaxing pools. The park is well-maintained and features friendly staff ensuring safety.
I think it is the biggest water relaxing center in Latvia, but starts needing renovatron. Just 4 saunas and in every there is somthing not fully working. For kids - still great for all ages.
Kristīne D — Google review
I have been there 3 times with my kids over the years and it has always been a great experience. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The water and rooms are warm, which is very important to me.
Ave K — Google review
I came to this waterpark on a school trip from the neighbouring country Lithuania and i think that it truly is a beautiful water park, with a lot of attractions, BUT. I didn’t like the fact that we had to wait in line to get a floatie and then walk 4-5 floors to get to the attraction, but that didn’t bother me that much. What bothered me is that you have to find places to put your shoes or towels and they are in pretty much hidden places, so you have to search, the lifeguards/workers practically ignored me and answered really boringly, so it didn’t feel welcoming, although there was one guy which was there when me and my friend were going to the extremes and he was very nice and comforting. MY BIGGEST ISSUE is about the orange slide. It cut my friend in the back and left severe bruising, skin ripping and almost blood. Im 165cm and my friend is 185 cm, for me it was fine but for my friend her back was really bruised and hurt alot, although the slide itself doesn’t have a height range. Although the red slide was way faster and supposed to be more scary, it was more enjoyable than the orange one. I don’t know whos going to read this, but please check out the ORANGE EXTREME SLIDE. This is a very low quality photo and after some medicine. It was way worse before. If you look closely you can see the skin it ripped and the “hole” it made.
Dorotėja Č — Google review
Our family had a blast here. So much fun. It wasn’t busy at all and we barley waited in line for water slides. Lots of various slides so there is something for everyone, young, old, adventerous or not. Food was a bit pricey but I expected that since it was a waterpark.
Brianne I — Google review
They didn’t let us in because we didn’t have printed gift cards — such an old-school policy and not exactly eco-friendly! The staff were strict and unforgiving, seemingly just waiting for a child to make one small, innocent jump or move too quickly, only to issue a warning with a cold, arrogant expression. I’m all for safety and rules, but this felt excessive. The water and air temperature were also a bit too low for our comfort. That said, the rides were great, and the food in the cafeteria was tasty!
Arturs — Google review
This is a great water park, it’s expensive to get in the 3 hour option is just nuts you save about 3 euro on a day pass. There’s food and drink inside the pool, cocktails 🍸 in the pool sure no problem. Food is standard fare. You get a pre loaded bracelet with €80 on it what is used to pay for food and drink . ( when you leave you pay for what you used) There’s food slides are great, this is more for teenagers, there are activities outside for smaller children but if it’s cold there are no other real options other than wave pool and lazy river There are saunas (up to 90 degrees C) and steam room and bubble baths Kids are allowed in the sauna < 16 Overall pool is clean and warm
Dennis G — Google review
Went today with my boyfriend and friend and wasn't impressed. Even though most of the slides were closed due to it being low season the price was still the same but for less attractions. My boyfriend and friend went down the red horizontal slide. My boyfriend and friend tried to encourage me to go down but i was nervous. The Lifeguards were very rude radioing to eachother and laughing as I didn't go down straight away. No one else was waiting to use the slide so i wasn't holding up a queue or anything. I explained to the lifeguard i had Autism and struggled with nerves and things. He then radioed to his friend at the bottom of the slide in another language laughing. He was very blunt and said "can you swim" to which i replied "yes" and all he said was "go down then". Lifeguards should be encouraging but these two were just rude. The lifeguard at the bottom motioned to kick me down the slide, then the lifeguard at the top came towards me and put his foot behind me. I immediately stood up so he couldn't kick me down the slide and we walked away. Not really a funny "joke" to someone who's nervous and has explained they have Autism. The two lifeguards began laughing to eachother. Another lifeguard then approached us to ask why i didn't go down the slide, I explain i had Autism and was nervous and told him about the other lifeguarding gesturing to kick me down the slide. He said the lifeguard wouldn't do that anyway. Regardless of whether he would or wouldn't he shouldn't have gestured it, especially after explaining i have Autism. Very upset with the way we were spoken to and treated, asked to speak to a manager but apparently there wasn't one on site. I would not recommend this place and won't be returning. These lifeguards should not have these jobs ! 😡
Sophie C — Google review
Although we had a day of fun at the aqua park, anyone going there should be aware that there is a minimum height of 120cm for almost all the slides and attractions. This was quite a disappointment for our 6-year old child who was just under the minimum height requirement. The staff was also very diligent in upholding this requirement. Will also stress that we thought the entry fee was high. We paid about 150€ entry for a family of 5. All in all we spent about 200€ at the park. After the initial disappointment we all managed to have fun. The place is also in need of some TLC, especially given the high entry fee!

Globe, a popular tourist attraction in Jurmala, is a spinning statue located on Jomas Street. The monument features the name 'Jurmala' written in various languages and becomes even more enchanting at night when its lamps light up. Situated near a beautiful new Orthodox church, it serves as a famous meeting spot and marks the beginning of one of the village's longest streets filled with shops, souvenir spots, cafes, and ice-cream shops.
Looks lovely, roof tops are so shiny and fancy. Freshly painted. Inside you can't do photos, but it looked nice and clean, lovely golden pictures. No tickets to enter, only donations.

Railway station (Art Station) "Dubulti" is a unique blend of functioning transportation hub and art exhibition space, showcasing Soviet modernist architecture. It regularly hosts contemporary art exhibitions, with a schedule that changes frequently. Visitors can contribute to the current exhibition, which was created by an art collective. The station's exterior retains its original design, while the interior has been renovated into a modern and accessible space for everyone to enjoy.
This was my favourite place to visit during my time in Latvia. The current exhibition was created by an art collective with additions by members of the public, essentially anyone can contribute. I was confused somewhat by the fact that there is still a ticket office at the front, and public toilets at the back, but in-between there is chaotic art. I like it.
Phil H — Google review
A train station that hosts artistic exhibitions! A phenomenal artistic space, in a train station, this is an inspiring and brilliant gallery space within a very stylish station, that is functional and serves the wonderful beach nearby. Frequent trains connect to Riga. The space is on two levels and this installation had an interactive element.

The Cottage of Rainis and Aspazija is a charming museum that offers a glimpse into the 20th-century atmosphere through its well-preserved interior and household items. One unique feature is the projected holograms of cats that inhabit the house, adding an intriguing touch to the experience. Visitors can travel back in time to the civilized era of 1900-1910 and learn about the lives of Rainis and Aspazija, with informative displays in both Latvian and English.
Really interesting summer home of the Poet Rainis, which articulates the world and work of both him and his wife. I loved the exhibitions. It is the first museum I have visited where one could have a tarot card reading! The location is beautiful and very close to the beach.

Interesting museum, also - movie about Rainis and Aspazija is well-made.
Lich — Google review
Nice and comfy museum, a literal (literary?) travel in time, to the more civilized times of the 1900-1910. Rainis looks likes a cross over between an hobbit, a romantic poet and a socialist like Bernard Shaw

Outdoor Activities
Jūrmalas pludmale, also known as Jurmala Beach, is a stunning 25km stretch of sandy coastline along the Gulf of Riga. Once home to fishing villages, it has evolved into a popular resort town merged with Riga Seaside in the early 20th century. The beach offers picturesque views of the Baltic Sea and features soft white sand and surrounding pine forests, creating a tranquil atmosphere.
I visited Jūrmala Beach in Latvia on May 31st, and it was absolutely incredible! The weather was great, the beach was clean and lively, and the atmosphere was full of energy. What made the day truly special was the airshow – it was thrilling to watch the planes performing over the sea, and it really added to the excitement. Later in the evening, there was a concert right on the beach, and the vibe was fantastic. Great music, happy crowds, and a relaxed yet festive atmosphere. And just when I thought the day couldn’t get any better, the night ended with an amazing fireworks display over the water. It was a perfect mix of nature, entertainment, and celebration.

The beach is easy to reach and has soft sand, volleyball courts, and an outdoor gym. The water was about 16°C, still good enough for a short swim. We enjoyed the visit and would like to come back.

Lovely beach , been there many times since I live in Latvia . The only issue is that usually its really crowded but overall its really nice water is normally very warm and pleasant to swim in

The unexpected entry fee to Jurmàla put a dampener on our visit to the beach . You can’t purchase them online but you will find a vending machine before the entry ( which we missed) altogether a frustrating visit . The beach is long and nice for a walk . It’s probably lovely when it’s summer .

Jūrmalas Tarzāns is an adventure park located in Dzintari, offering a thrilling experience for both kids and adults. The park features ground and tree-based obstacles designed to simulate natural wild conditions. It provides a safe environment for children as young as 4 years old to enjoy the various tracks. The friendly and helpful staff ensure that visitors receive proper instructions on safety measures before embarking on their adventure.
This Tarzan park is absolutely incredible. It offers a great experience for all skill levels, with courses ranging from easy to challenging. It’s the perfect place to spend the day, and you'll find ice cream shop and restrooms right on site.

The park itself is great. I went to the net park and it was fun, I really recommend it. Although the ticket for 50 min of net park is 10€, which is a little bit overpriced in my opinion. Now let's talk about the cafe in the park. They have a great selection of foods and drinks. I wanted to order a slushie and asked the staff about the flavours, she said "The yellow is lemon, the red is strawberry ...", so I ordered the yellow one BUT 1) the drink wasn't priced anywhere and the big drink cost me 5€ 2) the yellow slushie wasn't even lemon flavoured!! So basically, I paid 5€ for the drink that wasn't even the flavour that I wanted 🙃 Also, my boyfriend ordered the bubble waffle and the waffle was pretty overcooked. So the park was great but be critical about the cafe.

It was nice, but there were to many children, the place could let in only limited number of people at a time, so there wouldn't be lines at the climbing things.

(Translated by Google) 🏛️The former Emilia Ratsene bathhouse, which received its first visitors in 1914, later the Rigas Jurmala resort clinic, and now private property and a modern landmark of the central part of the coast on the Riga seaside. It is one of the main attractions of Jurmala. 📖History: At the beginning of the last century, a certain Emilia Ratsene built a very useful place for those times - a bathing establishment. Construction lasted from 1911 to 1916, subsequently the builders decorated the central corner tower with elegant and symmetrical wings on the sides, emphasizing it. The two-story wooden building is characterized by a high plinth on the beach side and wood carving details, which creates an accent of urban construction in the beach development. During the Second World War, this place offered a wide range of baths with different aromas, healing and relaxing properties, with pine needle extract, sea water and oxygenated. Moreover, they were open all year round; even in the coldest winters, the baths accepted frozen clients. Over time, after the end of the war, the building was given over to a clinic of local and military significance, which was then distinguished by its modern equipment and the quality of the medical services provided. During Soviet times, a resort clinic, one of the best medical institutions, operated in the building In 1982, a major reconstruction was carried out, the number of windows was increased, the entrance was changed, and the faded decor was redone and restored. Later, in 1997, thanks to the architect A. Vilnītis, the building was partially restored to its original appearance, according to discovered archives from the Second World War, when the bathhouse functioned for its intended purpose. Now the building is a private residence and is looking for its new owner, who may open it to tourists. For now, you can only admire it from the outside, but it’s worth spending a few minutes to look at it from the shore, to the beaches of which it is closely adjacent. There are many cafes for every taste and hotels nearby where you can always have a snack and relax. P.S.: The former bathhouse is located at the end of Pilsonu Street. Electric trains run to the Majori area from Riga, this will be the fourth stop. At the moment the building is very neglected and is not for sale. But it’s very difficult to find a buyer 😥It’s surprising that such a previously well-deserved building has not found application in the new conditions, especially since the resort is still popular and the weather is still unstable. We are waiting for someone to be found who will return him to his former glory, or finally finish him off....

Unfortunately, there wasn't enough time to explore the museum fully. However, the building's architecture left a strong impression. The attention to detail and unexpected color combinations were particularly noteworthy. Additionally, there were no long queues observed on Saturday for entry. Aspazijas māja is a charming poet's residence that offers interactive games that appeal to children. It is meticulously preserved and contains numerous personal belongings of Aspazija herself.

From a distance, the artwork is a real eye-catcher. Its design, set against the sky, appears elegant and promising. It arouses curiosity and absolutely invites you to explore it. However, the moment you step inside is a bitter disappointment. What seemed like a complex installation from the outside reveals itself on the inside to be a rather simple framework with reflective panels attached. The magic of the exterior evaporates instantly. While the reflections create interesting light effects and perhaps even a small play on self-perception, the concept feels unfinished. It lacks the depth that makes you think, the "certain something" that distinguishes a work of art from mere decoration. You find yourself asking: "Is that it?" Verdict: An interesting focal point for the skyline, but as an immersive experience, unfortunately, a missed opportunity.

The Ķemeri water tower, an integral part of Latvia's industrial legacy, was constructed in 1929 by architect Fridrihs Skujins. Originally serving as a reservoir for both drinking and mineral water, this impressive structure also functioned as a lighthouse. Situated adjacent to the Park Hotel Kemeri, it housed a 100 m3 capacity drinking water reservoir within its walls.
Wonderful experience, even tho the stairs are narrow and steep, the view from the top floor is mesmerising. We happened to visit the tower on museum night and uniquely it was open until the sunset.

The Observation Tower Jurmala, designed by ARHIS Architects, stands at 38 meters tall in Dzintaru zaparks. The structure is predominantly made of lattices and offers free admission to visitors. While the climb to the top may require patience and can be unsettling for those with a fear of heights, the view from the tower provides a panoramic perspective of Jurmala's pine forest and a glimpse of the sea.
Must climb lots of steps to reach the maximum level (33,5 meters), and the constant visibility of the ground through the stairs can be very scary, but the tower is very well-maintained and clean, it feels very secure. Visibility on the top level is breathtaking😍

This observation tower, located in a pleasant park in the very center of Jūrmala, Latvia, offers a relatively challenging climb, especially on a windy day, when it can feel a bit shaky (as I experienced on Thursday, September 11th, 2025). Once at the top, you’re rewarded with nice views over the city and the surrounding trees though. Try it!

Ok views of Jurmala area. Too bad its in the middle of forested park, views are quite limited to trees. The general area is super relaxed for walking and cycling.
V-P S — Google review
Free admission. The view from the top of the tower is a bit disappointing. It is just a thick sea of pine trees with a little stripe of the sea. The tower is very tall, so you will need patience when climbing to the top. Feels a little swing at the top. If you have a fear of heights, it can be uncomfortable. We went specifically for the tower to see the panorama. However, we were more impressed by the concept of the Dzintari forest park itself. It is very modern with many activities for children.

Discover the captivating Baltic Current in Jurmala, where the stunning coastline of Latvia harmonizes with a lively cultural scene. This picturesque destination boasts expansive beaches that are perfect for morning jogs on soft, compact sand. While there’s only one beach restaurant open late into the evening, it offers a variety of dishes like delicious swine shashlik paired with fried potatoes and onion salad at reasonable prices. However, be prepared for cooler temperatures as sunset approaches since some cafes may not be heated.
Only one beach restaurant which, was been open so late in common day, 3 may. Beer from 4.80 to 4.00€. various dishes was been possible so late, at ~21:00. I take the swine shashlik (souvlaky, barbeque) with fried potato and onion salads> cost ~10€. Cafe was not heated, when sunset going became very cold. But it closed at 22:00.

Well maintained place for swimming and grill your own food. We saw a few camping tents there as well. People are coming for fish catching as well, as well as learn to dive. Place for swim suits change. A couple roofs to get in case of rain. Place for trash disposal and toilet is there.

Good place to hang out on a hot summer day and eat some burned shashlik if you have some with you Could be a lot of people on weekends, so do not bother. Better go to the sea, cold Jurmala sea. (Translated by Google) Romance cement* in Sloka Even before 1899, the Riga merchant Trifonovs built a cement factory near Sloka (Bāžciem) to produce "the so-called Roman cement, which the testing station of the Riga Polytechnic Institute recognized as really good." The cement factory built around 1901 for the processing of local dolomite had already expanded its operations very successfully. Roman cement was supplied to the new buildings of the city of Riga via the Lielupe waterway and railway. The operation of the factory was damaged by the First World War, but it was restored around 1922. Unfortunately, the activity of the Sloka cement industry slowed down already around 1925 due to the factory's large debts. Roman cement factory continued its work starting from 1950. In 1988, the workshop of the Sloka cement factory was closed. * Roman cement - obtained from dolomite marls. The reservoir of the Dolomite quarry, which today is actively used by divers for training, reminds us of this page of past industry. Local residents of Kauguru and Jūrmala also swim. (Original) Romāncements* Slokā Jau pirms 1899. gada Rīgas tirgotājs Trifonovs uzcēla cementa fabriku Slokas tuvumā (Bāžciemā), lai ražotu "tā saukto Romana cementu, kuru Rigas politehniskā instituta izmēģināšanas stacija atzinusi par īsti labu." Ap 1901. gadu vietējā dolomīta pārstrādei uzceltā cementa fabrika jau itin sekmīgi bija izvērsusi darbību. Romāncementu pa Lielupes ūdensceļu un dzelzceļu piegādāja Rīgas pilsētas jaunceltnēm. Fabrikas darbību iedragāja Pirmais pasaules karš, bet tā atjaunojās ap 1922. gadu. Diemžēl Slokas cementrūpniecības darbība apsīka jau ap 1925. gadu fabrikas lielo parādu dēļ. Darbu romāncementa fabrika turpināja, sākot no 1950. gada. 1988. gadā tika slēgts Slokas cementa rūpnīcas cehs. *Romāncements - iegūts no dolomīta merģeļiem.

I have visited here for the past 2 years and my experience has been good, the lady at the desk also is very polite and supportive, it's the best in Riga region to experience kayak and other services that they provide, would come here again

Nice place to rent a boat, cute doggo to pet while waiting, the lady who did the bookings was knowledgeable of weather conditions and the types of boat to use. The person preparing our boat did not deign to tell us about how to use it or help us push it into water. We had to figure it out on our own. Very good for on the go learning, I guess, nothing is served on a silver platter
Almas S — Google review
Seems like a nice location but very poor service. We were booked to wakeboard at 16.00 and had to wait for 15-20 mins which is not a problem. Problem was that instructor was very rude and told that I am not allowed to ask any questions because he(!!!) has no time. He answered though that they have one wakeboard for all genders, ages and sizes. Agree, dog is cute though. Everything else is a disappointment really
Derig D — Google review
The best place for watersports I've ever seen: very nice and super professional owner/instructor, great still and clean water. You will be also provided with any equipment you need for wakeboarding or waterskiing. The atmosphere there is so amazing that my wife decided to give wakeboarding a try for the first time (after three years of thinking about it). And she was 100% satisfied when she started to wakeboard immediately after a 15 minutes instructions. So if you're somewhere nearby and the weather is good just go there and have a great time with great people.

Don't hesitate, just go there! The owner, Gints Rungis, is a wonderful guy. He's a patient and excellent instructor for beginners like me and for serious waterskiiers too - he is former Latvian and USSR champion! Indeed, he had me up and skiing within 30 minutes - thank you, Gints! I should add that his daughter (also a junior waterskiing champion) is an instructor there too. On top of this, it's a beautiful location as well! I really hope the local authorities encourage him to build up Jurmala Waterski and Wakeboard Park - I have no doubt it will be very good for the local economy.
