Park
Nestled just a mile northwest of downtown Boerne, Boerne City Lake Park is a delightful 200-acre oasis perfect for outdoor enthusiasts and families alike. This scenic park boasts a variety of activities to enjoy, from swimming and fishing to kayaking on the expansive lake. Visitors can unwind at the picnic areas or take advantage of the BBQ facilities while soaking up the sun. For those looking for adventure, there are hiking trails to explore and even a nine-hole disc golf course to test your skills.
Beautiful area. Super clean. Kayaking, canoeing, fishing, swimming. Great for the kids! Lots of picnic tables.
James J — Google review
Great lake. Water is cold and fresh most of the year and is cleaner than some of the bigger lakes like canyon and Travis. Because of the size to motorized boats are allowed so it's great for kayaking, paddle boards and swimming recreationally.. I'll be going back to fish as I saw bait fish. Great place.
Maurice R — Google review
As a resident I am able to enter at no cost. Small fee for non residents. It is always well maintained and such a peaceful and beautiful lake. It is surrounded by a walking path and has plenty of parking.
Regina M — Google review
Beautifully kept park, with picnic benches and nearby restrooms. Great for family gatherings and parties. Bring your fishing poles; there are plenty of good spots to choose from.
Sammy B — Google review
The perfect escape from city stress! one of the best places to unwind and get away from the noise, traffic, and daily pressure of life. It’s peaceful, quiet, and surrounded by nature.
Mohammed H — Google review
Please clean the park up! Large areas of the park have been made unusable thanks to people who don’t follow the rules. Leaving trash, including glass,! fishing gear, styrofoam ice chests left behind…. My dog cut her foot so bad on glass beer bottle, it sliced through a tendon required a ER visit and several stitches. I wish they would implement a refund fee for returning with full trash bags they have this system in place on the drive on beaches in South Padre and I feel it would really help the issues here. It’s such a shame how this park has degraded especially for such a high entry fee.
Lori M — Google review
Decent place for sup and kayaking. Both are available for rent. Sometimes, the wind can pick up out of nowhere.
Ruben O — Google review
A nice place to spend the weekend with your family or friends. You can bring your own chair and chill near the lakeside. You can bring your own barbeque and prepare your food. Kayak is available.

River Road Park is a picturesque green space located near downtown Boerne, running alongside the tranquil Cibolo Creek. Visitors can enjoy various activities such as picnicking, fishing, and observing the local wildlife including geese and turtles. The park serves as a trailhead for the scenic Cibolo Trail, which extends beyond the park and winds its way around Boerne following the Cibolo Creek to Main Plaza Park.
Great place to walk off your lunch or dinner. Mellow walk, friendly people, lovely scenery, we really enjoyed our walk. We saw lots of dog walkers, ducks, geese and squirrels.
Amanda M — Google review
Nice park along the river. Needs a small play area for kids south of the bridge. Loved the ducks, turtles, and occasional surprise like the huge catapillar in photos. 3 snakes in between rocks and next to sidewalk did scare the ladies. They were jyst on the north side of the bridge and possibly water moccasins. I can see this place being magical with lights all over during the holidays.
James C — Google review
I loved this park so much!!! The scenery was so beautiful, the Egyptian geese and ducks and turtles were so fun to look at. It is very clean and serene and felt like a dream! The people of Boerne are lucky to have this amazing park.
Katie — Google review
Never gets dull coming here with the family. The ducks, turtles and other animals who call the river their home are always visible and line the banks or shallow water. Relaxing morning or afternoon strolls and a good place to mentally reset! Adjacent restaurants and parking are readily available.
Ruel — Google review
This is a beautiful place, refreshing and relaxing with wonderful scenery. Just find time to take a walk around. Enough space to park your vehicle as well.
Mark A — Google review
I have lived here over 30 years and this river has been an amazing respite and source of peace in me, my wife and my kid’s lives. It has been completely upgraded and more paths have been added and it makes living in a small town such a joy. Good job @city of Boerne.

Beautiful area with tons of trees, picnic tables, trail (sidewalk ), and duckies to watch them swimming or relaxing under the shade! Restroom is close by.

Farmers' market
The Farmer's Market at the Cibolo, located in historic Boerne, offers a unique experience that combines local commerce with history. Every Saturday morning, visitors can explore a variety of offerings from local ranchers, growers, and artisans amidst the beautiful gardens and pollinator fields of the historic Herff Farm. In addition to shopping, guests can enjoy live music, hiking trails, and tours of the 19th-century homestead.
Herff Farm is beautiful. The grounds & the gardens are so peaceful. The pollinator garden has so many beautiful butterflies. Got to walk thru the charming, old 2-story house. The market days vendor on this Saturday has some wonderful vendors.

I did three Service Projects for scouts and enjoyed each one. Employees were very Helpful and engaging. The Popsicles were also delicious.
Joshua C — Google review
I hadn't been to our Farmers Market in a minute so I was excited to see so many great vendors! We made a haul on goodies and wanted to purchase more! So many homemade food (even gluten-free), handmade crafts, live plants, fresh vegetables, fresh meat & eggs, jams, marmelades, nightshade-free canned goods, and tanin-free wine! We're coming back next week!
Lisa W — Google review
Such an amazing spot! Plenty to do for both kids and adults! The snip and go garden had so much to choose from and so many treasures to find! For $10 it is worth it to do every time! Can’t wait for next Saturday!
Kira R — Google review
This place is great!! Everyone is so friendly and helpful. The trails are beautiful and tranquil. There is a small 'Pioneer trail' before the house which is in most of the pictures. The Farmer's Market has a variety of vendors with reasonable prices. I bought a bouquet of sunflowers, prickly pear jelly and homemade soap and bath bomb(shape of meringue) that smell wonderful. Definitely worth a visit!
Cassandra R — Google review
Checked out this farmers market on a cold, rainy day. Enjoyed asking the vendors about their items and produce. Hope to return when the weather is a little warmer.
Wendi W — Google review
Loved this little farmers market. Fresh vegetables, meat, baked goods, and soaps. Will be visiting again.

History Museums
The Agricultural Museum and Arts Center, formerly known as the Agricultural Heritage Museum, is a captivating destination for anyone eager to delve into the rich history and culture of the region. A visit here feels like stepping back in time to an era where farming was at the heart of community life. The museum showcases a fascinating array of artifacts that reflect both agricultural practices and southern traditions from yesteryears.
Tour painted a great picture of Texas history over things such as the coffee mill, sausage grinder, modern and old spurs, farming implements, et cetera. I found the museum to be culturally enriching and providing detailed info on western history and ranching history. Twice a month they do bluegrass music sessions so I look forward to coming back for that.

Awesome place! The blacksmith shop was so cool. He spent over a hour showing and helping my boy build a steel leaf. Great place to visit.

Such an interesting place with so much history! Fun to explore on it's own but really fun when they host events here like Bierfest and a pumpkin patch in the fall. Also a great place to take photos!
Jennifer E — Google review
This place is really neat. We were there to complete an Eagle Scout project no festivities. We hear there are many different activities and a live bluegrass band 2x a month. Check it out

Amazing collection of old farm equipment many with explanations of their use. There's also a blacksmith at work who demonstrates his craft.

Geologic Formations
Cascade Caverns, located in Boerne, Texas, offers guided tours that showcase stunning formations and hidden wonders within a cave with a 70-ft. ceiling. The site also features tent camping, trails for outdoor adventures, and opportunities to spot wildlife. The Texas Hill Country is known for its beautiful rolling hills and numerous cave systems, including those found in the Boerne area such as Cave Without a Name and Cascade Caverns.
We had a wonderful experience during our visit. Our guide, Sebastian, was not only humorous but also highly knowledgeable, which greatly enhanced the tour. I was particularly impressed by how easily accessible and navigable the cavern was, and appreciated that it felt far less commercialized compared to other sites—specifically, I found this experience to be far superior to Carlsbad. I felt safe, well-informed, and that the experience was truly worth the cost. The atmosphere was relaxed, without overcrowding, and individual attention was given when questions were asked. The rock shop offered a remarkable variety of items that were genuinely worth browsing (i.e. stones) , and the opportunity to purchase a bag and pan for stones outdoors added a fun and interactive element. Overall, we had an absolute blast and will definitely be returning.
Angela W — Google review
If you’re looking to go spelunking with the best tour guides in the business, this is your place to be! The guide for our tour was very informative, and answered all questions posed to them by active children and adults. There are, however, several steps going down into the cave, and, of course, coming back up out of the cave. Some people may need to rest a bit on the way up, as going back outside, the heat hits like a wall in Texas. There is an area where you will have to crouch, and you will need to watch where you are going. Stalagmites and stalactites are clearly visible, and sometimes there are small cave-dwelling bats and salamanders.
LaTangela P — Google review
So, y’all. My wife and I had hadn’t even heard of Cascade Caverns, we but saw a sign for it as we passed through Boerne. We’ve enjoyed a few other caverns (Carlsbad, Inner Space, and Natural Bridge) so we decided to visit on a whim. Cascade Caverns is a bit off the beaten path but well worth the visit. The staff are friendly and very knowledgeable. My wife and I arrived early enough to get our own private tour. Our tour guide, Ireland, was great and you could tell she really enjoyed her job and cared about the cavern’s preservation. Ireland encouraged and happily answered our questions. She took the time to ensure we remained safe. One of the great things about Cascade Caverns is that it retains much of its “natural” state, allowing visitors to navigate using flashlights. This makes the cavern tour feel more personal and individualized, a bit like you are exploring the cave by yourself.
Jessica G — Google review
Super cool cave. Heard about a special spelunking tour that goes into a system under the normal tour cave, you enter through a tube in the middle of a pool at the end of the cave. Would've loved to see that too, but the guide wasn't available the day we visited. Watch their Facebook page for those tours if you're interested.
Chad B — Google review
Loved the cave. Saw a bat! Our tour guide Ireland was awesome!! She knew all about the history of the cave and was super friendly!! Glad we got someone like her!
Kristin D — Google review
This was a great tour. Our guide Ling Ray was super knowledgeable, funny and let us ask tons of questions. Our family just happened to be the only ones on the tour so it was a really great experience.
Lori C — Google review
Cascade Caverns was a lot of fun! Our tour guide "Stingray" was great; he was funny, well-informed, and genuinely fascinating. He made the tour entertaining and educational from start to finish. The actual cave is breathtaking, with remarkable rock formations and a refreshingly chilly atmosphere. For children of all ages, it is a great hobby and a unique chance to learn about nature. Seeing Cascade Caverns is an absolute must, especially when "Stingray" is your guide!
Bogdana B — Google review
Great time! More details below but the short version is this is definitely worth a quick stop! We happened by the cavern while driving through the area so we didn’t have a reservation, but the staff were very welcoming and happy to help! We had the tour to ourself and it was a great time. The path is definitely a little more “rough” than other caverns: lots of puddles, very uneven, and some parts you have to duck. But if you’re steady on your feet it won’t make a difference to you. I wore regular hightops and they were fine. I maybe wouldn’t recommend small children or elderly folks with vision/balance issues. The caverns are minimally lit to keep them natural. The tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable. We saw bats, frogs, and salamanders. The views were gorgeous and the tour was a nice 45 min - 1 hour, which felt like an appropriate amount of time. Very much recommend!!

259 Brantley's Bistro & Bar in Boerne, Texas offers a charming dining experience with its rustic ambiance featuring plank floors, tin ceilings, and a polished oak bar. The menu boasts a delightful selection of dishes such as perfectly seared lamb sliders for lunch and a Hill Country mixed grill for dinner, showcasing axis tenderloin and sausage alongside mustard-glazed quail. Guests can also indulge in the unexpected yet popular baked salami chips served with sweet jalapeno cream cheese.
Everything we tried was very fresh and delicious. The farmers board was perfectly paired with fruits, cheeses, and dried sausage. Most of the ingredients are locally sourced. It's a tucked away gem of Boerne and has better food than some of the more popular places. Definitely a must eat !

Great & beautiful atmosphere, LARGE servings, absolutely delicious food with tons of options for food and drink. The entire wait staff was super friendly and attentive! We will definitely return!

5 stars all the way around. What a great option for our 22 wedding anniversary. So delicious and so casual. Our server, relaxed, didn’t push for orders and let us enjoy the restaurant and band with no rush. Appetizer was worth every creamy calorie. Entrees and desserts are exceptional. Great pricing for atmosphere, service, food and cocktails. You will not be disappointed.

Came here with guests and was not disappointed. Food was prepared as requested. Staff was attentive and checked in as appropriate. Overall great experience! The Fried Pecan Pie and Key Lime Pie were AMAZING!!

One of the best restaurants we tried in Boerne. All the food was very good, incredible service, moderate prices, sometimes they have live music, the patio area is pretty nice too (considering it was not that hot when we visited). To eat we got the Axis Burger, the Muffuletta and the pomegranate pistachio salad, all of them were pretty well balanced, fresh ingredients and quickly served.
Juan S — Google review
We were walking by Saturday night and they had live music so we decided to check it out, such a neat atmosphere and the band was amazing! We had brunch the next morning, we tried the cheese curds, eggs Benedict, French fries and a breakfast sandwich. Everything was so delicious and the service was incredible. I would absolutely recommend and look forward to going back.
Chandra B — Google review
Good food, great outside bar and patio with live music. Nice selection of drinks. The bistro was quiet and nice, the outdoor bar/patio was wonderful, Nice vibe! ❤️
James J — Google review
Great service. Parking might be an issue, but not for us. Were seated immediately and given a choice of tables. Yellow roses on the table. Food was priced reasonably for the quality. Salad was cut fresh. The quail was delicious and well cooked. The Axis burger was simple and so delicious. Even the fries and the ice tea were amazing. The dining area was smallish so there might be a wait. About half the seating is outside. The ladies bathroom is behind the restaurant (by the smoker) and is handicap accessible.

Boerne Berges Fest is a must-visit annual event in Boerne, Texas. This German festival offers a great experience with plenty of beer and a festive atmosphere. The fairgrounds provide an excellent venue for the event, where visitors can even camp behind the rodeo corral. In addition to Berges Fest, Boerne hosts various other events throughout the year such as car shows, art parades, and holiday celebrations like Weihnachts Parade and Dickens on Main.
Cool fest lots of beer
Clayton S — Google review
Th>s is a nice small festival. But, I wondered why it isn't held in the town itself instead of at the fairgrounds. There aren't many vendors and if Berges Fest would be held in the town of Boerne it would help to draw visitors to the businesses in town. The entertainment would also add to the towns atmosphere. The Boerne Band could play and the GesNg Verein (singing society) could sing.
Stephen M — Google review
The reason for three stars wasn't because the vendors were bad, they were fine. It was pretty dead when we went (day 3) and the times of events weren't punctual, which makes it tough to figure out what is going on. We drove an hour to visit this festival and though I hate to say it, we were disappointed with the experience.

Consider visiting the impressive Kinder Park, a renowned playground in the vicinity. Alternatively, you can explore Makers Place if your children are more inclined towards artistic activities such as painting on canvas or pottery. Kinder Park offers a delightful space for young ones to enjoy themselves with various amenities including a large shaded slide, mom and baby swings, and well-maintained play equipment. However, it is important to note that public restrooms are not available at this location.
Update: They just installed a bathroom facility onsite and finished a few other updates. A beautiful and shaded playground on a quiet neighborhood street. There is a small parking area next to the fully fenced playground. I always love the baby swings attached to the parent swing so you can swing your baby while sitting and looking into their eyes. Too cute and two of them here. Both younger and older kids will be fully entertained with plenty of things to do. I highly recommend this special playground.

We took our grandkids here for a little outside exercise and fun and I'm glad we did. They played on all of the fixtures untile tired and we enjoyed the ample shade while watching.

Great place to take your kids! It's fenced off which I thought was really nice. They have this awesome swing you can actually sit and swing with your little one. My 12yr old and 2yr old loved this park.

Great park with a lot of climbing options. One main swing was missing which is a bummer. Also watch out for the gate to get in, it swung and nearly hit me and baby as we were walking in because of the wind.

This is a really nice shaded park with lots for the kids to do. There is a picnic table that we enjoyed our lunch on. It's completely fenced off so you don't have to worry about your child darting towards any roads.

Best park in boerne. Great shade. Beautiful trees. New playground equipment. Right in town! My kids love it. They even have the companion swings where you can swing with your baby!

Red Crest Pet Shop in Boerne, TX is a hidden gem that offers a nostalgic experience. Despite its unassuming exterior, the inside is filled with a variety of animals including fish, lizards, snakes, guinea pigs, and more. The shop also provides great value for dog treats. The knowledgeable and helpful staff are dedicated to providing assistance with all kinds of animals from dogs and cats to exotics. Additionally, the prices are competitive compared to other local stores and even online retailers.
What a great local pet store! Quite a variety of pet supplies and a wide selection of fish. Great service!

Enjoy doing business with small businesses. Luv this one. I started buying canned quality patè food here for our aging feral cat, Siesta. The owner helped me select the correct food based on Siesta's aging digestive challenges .... and diva taste buds ; )

We were in town exploring Boerne and drove past this pet shop. The sign is faded and the building is in need of paint. However, there was nothing that would have indicated what we found inside. There were SO many varieties of fish, snakes, lizard, birds and 3 Great Pyrenees shop dogs napping throughout the store. The owner was so helpful and knowledgeable. I am so glad we stopped!
Heidi C — Google review
Wide variety of fish as well as other pets. I am very happy to report they do NOT store bettas in cups here, they are in tanks woo hoo!! I highly recommend.

I would like to say that Red Crest store is the best ! They were able to help me find freeze dried coated kibble small breed for my daughter that came from California she was affected by the fires in Palisades and the owner was very caring and he saved me the last bag that was left . So I am forever grateful to have found good people and this store will be my forever shopping place♥️ Thank you!

Red Crest is the epitome of small town business with personal service and kind and helpful employees. They alway make sure they have my dog’s specialized dog food on hand.

This place has everything! You would not expect this kind of selection in a small town, but they can take care of just about all your pet needs. Cat, dog, small mammal, reptiles, amphibians, birds, fish both fresh water and salt. You name it. All of the animals seem alert and healthy. The owner obviously loves animals and knows his stuff.
Carson M — Google review
I come here all the time. I have been buying fish here for almost a year. All the fish here have been great with no issues after taking them home.

Always a fun time. Love the outdoor setting, casual atmosphere, and live music.
Jennifer G — Google review
Really cool venue for good beer, outdoor seating, and live music. Interesting collection of people from all walks in there on a Saturday night. The only complaint is that the bar can be crowded and you may have to push your way through sitting patrons to place an order. I'd recommend using some railing to make the spot near the cash register a spot for ordering/paying only.

Cozy hidden spot in Boerne it's outdoors, pet friendly🐕,vast variety of beer🍺 and wine🍷the music is versatile🎤
Melva S — Google review
This is a fun "backyard" beer garden where locals gather. The place really is pretty lively when they have music, and they do have a small but decent selection of both national and local beers. This place is much more neighborhood block party than big city dive bar, and that's why it is so charming, relaxing, and fun.
Mark P — Google review
This was a very cool place to hang out -- they have a cover band going, their lighting was perfect, and the tables/chairs were fine. I was just a bit blown away by their prices -- about $9 a beer -- we're talking California prices. Made it a bit hard to enjoy.
Michael E — Google review
Bartender wasn't there when I first arrived. Had to wait at the bar for 5 minutes before she showed up again. The area it's self is cute but they really should look into hiring friendlier staff. It's pricey but friendly bartenders would have made it worth the money.
Zoe T — Google review
Great place to kick off on a Sunday afternoon, catch a little live acoustic singer-songwriter style music playing country and rock favorites with his own spin. Decent drink prices, outdoor seating... highly recommend.

Nice venue, easy access and parking. Seats are okay, but sound could sure be better, hope The 4 Phantoms isn't muffled.
