Pub
American restaurant
The Brown Cow Pub in Zermatt is a popular spot for a relaxed apres ski experience. It has a cozy pub atmosphere with sports on TV and a no reservations policy, making it challenging to find a table. However, there are usually seats available at the bar or you can wait for a group to leave. The Post Hotel complex also houses five other bars and clubs, offering various atmospheres from live jazz to dancing on giant beer barrels.
All the food is delicious with good service and attentive staff. The restaurant is located below the hotel, making it convenient to get to. They play stylish music. Prices are expensive in typical Swiss style
Nishaaa I — Google review
Brown Cow is a great spot for a delicious chicken burger! My wife and I don't drink or eat red meat so the chicken burger was our primary choice and we were not at all disappointed! The burgers were delicious, reasonably priced, and the fries were hot and crispy. A great option for chicken preferrers! The atmosphere was also quite nice. The background music was not very loud so talking was easy. We were also pleasantly surprised by passing goats through town as we ate. This is a very clean and well kept establishment. The bathrooms/water closet are located in the back, up the stairs, and to the left also when you're inside as a patron.
Parker M — Google review
The service is very attentive but the burgers are just ok. The bun for the burger fell apart about halfway through so they need to do a better job roasting the bun or picking a better bread to make the burger. Overall was good and would absolutely give it another go.
G M — Google review
Everything was really good. The hotdog was juicy and flavorful. The nachos had cheese that was melted with it. The burger was also really yummy (although it was a bit too salty for me). Overall I had a yummy time here.
Aud S — Google review
This place was hopping....which is usually a good sign. Seat yourself, server was spunky and fun. I had the Zermatter burger and fries....really, really good. Beef was juicy and toppings fresh and plentuful.
Craig S — Google review
Friendly service from the step through the door. Food great quality and quick service. Drinks offers available. It's busy for all of the above reasons.
Si M — Google review
Delicious food!! Excellent soup and burger. The restaurant pub is super cute, good music and seating. Service is great! Also, convenient when it comes for prices. Very good 😁
David C — Google review
Missed the lunch window as most kitchens closed by 1:45 PM, so we ended up at this pub—and what a happy accident it turned out to be! Their Zamatt Beef Signature Burger absolutely blew me away. The beef patty was perfectly seared on the outside, yet juicy and tender inside. Add crispy bacon, melted cheese, and a generous serving of thick-cut fries, and you’ve got a winner. I also spotted Baileys coffee on the beverage menu and asked if it could be served cold—the staff happily obliged, and it was fantastic. If you're a burger and Baileys kind of person, this spot is a must-visit. You won’t be disappointed.

Nestled in a village-like setting on the slopes above Zermatt, CERVO Mountain Resort offers chic accommodations with balconies, bars, dining options, and a luxurious spa. The resort is committed to eco-luxury, utilizing geothermal and solar energy while sourcing kitchen ingredients locally for fresh Alpine cuisine. Despite its rustic exterior, the resort exudes casual luxury inside.
Wonderful hotel. Fantastic service and really nice rooms. Massage was excellent. Great views. All the the restaurants were very good and the breakfast was superb and included! The concierge was really good and had great recommendations and was very organized. We were there in the summer, it looks like winter is easy too, take an elevator and you are right there at the base of the train that goes up to ski (however I have not tried that. Would definitely stay again. Only complaint would be that the beds were a tad hard.
S B — Google review
Absolutely amazing place. Joined a retreat and everything was perfect. Delicious food, great events and attentive staff. Views of the mountains are fabulous, and it feels close to nature. On arrival the hotel shuttle picked us up, and once we knew the way with the lift, the center of Zermatt is so close and easy to get to.
M — Google review
Amazing resort! At check in we were greeted with a glass of sparkling wine which always sets a nice tone. The room was large and comfortable and included a view of the Matterhorn. The spa areas are perfect for after a day of hiking/trekking. And a highlight was the breakfast! The make to order menu is extensive, and the self service area is equally impressive. My only regret is we did not stay longer! Tip - WhatsApp the resort and they will pick you up at the train station as it it quite the hike Another Tip - there is an elevator at the station to Sunnegga which makes the walk much easier!
Jeff C — Google review
Everything about our trip from pre-arrival communication, day of, all the way through and after our departure - was flawless. The staff is truly world-class and knows how to make you feel welcomed. The resort itself is impeccable, the huntsman suite was stunning and perfect. The food was amazing. If you visit Zermatt, this is the place to stay. We will be back.
T&K J — Google review
They welcomed us very warmly and even arranged a complimentary taxi pickup from the train station. The service was excellent overall, especially from the front desk and the driver who picked us up. The spa offered an incredible view of the Matterhorn and featured a pool filled with glacier water. They also thoughtfully provided a backpack and water bottle in the room for outdoor activities. I would definitely recommend staying here if you’re visiting Zermatt!
Anne K — Google review
Really enjoyed my stay at Cervo. The place feels modern but still cozy, with great views all around. Staff were super friendly and helpful without being pushy. Food was tasty and nicely presented, and the spa area is perfect after a day outside. Location is also very convenient, close to the slopes and village. Would definitely come back!
Toni S — Google review
Breakfast and dinner are excellent. The staff is superb and the rooms are very comfy with all the amenities. Location, views and accessibility are great too. The gym is the only disappointment, well under the standard of the hotel.
Joao N — Google review
We enjoyed our two days in August in this resort! My husband gifted me this experience for my birthday and wow, it was a real treat! We both had a couple’s massage in the spa after enjoying the natural pools and sauna. We admired the Matterhorn from the warm waters of the pool and sipped on sparkling wine. The staff is very professional and polite, and the rooms are in top condition with comfortable beds. In addition, the location is perfect. During our stay we hiked the 5 Lakes (it took us about 3.5 hours) and later we visited the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise. It was an unforgettable stay!

Vernissage Lounge Bar in Zermatt is a multifaceted establishment that offers a variety of entertainment options. From sipping creative cocktails in the Cocktail Lounge to dancing the night away in the Club, enjoying blockbuster movies in the Kino, dining at the upscale After Seven restaurant, or exploring art exhibitions in the Art Gallery, there's something for everyone here. The venue boasts Heinz Julen's distinctive interior design that embodies the essence of Zermatt.
We had an incredible dining and dancing experience during the magic mountain festival in Zermatt. The atmosphere in this location is exceptional and the food and drinks were amazing. Julia made an amazing job and looked after us perfectly we will come back!

What a fun place! First time for us and we had an amazing night. We couldn’t believe how cool it was! Drinks are not that expensive and the barmen are doing an incredible job, always with a smile. The DJs were incredible and delivered an electro techno set that got everyone moving on the dance floor for hours and hours.
Luca B — Google review
Beautiful location in Zermatt to grab drinks and listen to live music. The decor and drinks are amazing.
Julian V — Google review
One of the best, if not the best club experience i had in my life. The entrance was 10 CHF pP (very reasonable) and the crowd was extremely chill and funny, also young (20+). The DJ played bangers from the 90ies and everyone went wild (it was season end 90ies party). No trouble and people having fun. Men and women were equally distributed, which is a great sign. Would recommend 10 / 10!

Zermatt offers the best but most expensive skiing in Europe. A rather cumbersome task is to find good food worth the price. Well, here you go.. a great experience from start to end. Just the greeting at the door and the tour that Nico gave us is worth the visit. We will come back, many times!
Anders H — Google review
This place was great. Didn’t start to get packed until 11:45. Had a blast met some great people and listened to great music. Couldn’t ask for any more.

The Unique Hotel Post in Zermatt offers a rustic-chic experience with stunning Matterhorn views. This four-star hotel is conveniently located just five minutes from the train station, making it easily accessible for travelers. The hotel features upscale dining options, a small spa, and a free shuttle to the train station. With its wood and stone interiors, the 29-room hotel perfectly complements its mountainous surroundings. Guests can also enjoy the nearby lively restaurant and bar scene.
Perfect! Just got back our month long honeymoon and this was our favourite hotel we stayed in. We were in the Matterhorn Junior Suite and it was just gorgeous, so comfortable and cosy but spacious. Nice view of the Matterhorn. A bit obstructed by the building in front BUT that didn’t really take away from the view, just made the room feel more private. Room service food was excellent, included breakfast was great and service overall was fantastic. Couldn’t fault the location, central to pretty much everything. Room was a bit warm the first night but we were advised to open a window which we did, no issues after that. Great for the environment! Booked massages and used the spa a few times, so relaxing and everything you need at all times is provided including refreshments, extra towels, etc. Will 100% be staying here again if we come back.

The Unique Post Hotel in Zermatt truly lives up to its name. What makes it special is its blend of rich historical heritage with a vibrant, modern twist—offering multiple bars and clubs within the property, all under one roof. Zermatt itself is a dream destination where mornings are for breathtaking mountain adventures and evenings are for unwinding with good food, drinks, and comfort. This hotel complements the spirit of the city perfectly—an all-in-one haven where culture meets contemporary social life. I was lucky enough to meet the owner, Mr. Martin, whose warm hospitality and deep passion for the hotel were truly inspiring. He gave us insights into the property’s history and his vision for the future. With an impressive background in the global industry, he personally showed us to our stunning duplex room with a breathtaking Matterhorn view. He also introduced us to the in-room bonfire heater—an elegant and innovative feature that added so much charm to our stay. The team at the Unique Post Hotel deserves special mention. Joao, who picked us up from the station, was incredibly informative about the city and its routes. Mira gave us a warm welcome with Prosecco and a big smile, and Venya gave us a lovely tour around the hotel. Rooms: We stayed in a two-floor duplex with panoramic views of the city and the majestic Matterhorn. The room was thoughtfully designed, with a balcony, a sky window above the bed for stargazing, and a cozy reading corner. One of the coolest features was a live-streaming TV view of the Matterhorn, which helped us plan our excursions based on real-time visibility. We also loved that the TV connected to our phones so we could play our own music. The spacious bathroom was clean and modern, offering everything we needed. Food & Breakfast: The hotel serves delicious food and offers a fantastic breakfast selection. Every meal we had was fresh, well-prepared, and flavorful—perfect to fuel our days of exploring. The breakfast spread, in particular, stood out with a wide variety of high-quality options. Location: The hotel is right in the heart of Zermatt, just a 5-minute walk from the train station. Its central location means you can enjoy scenic street views and soak in the atmosphere from the comfort of your room. Pick-up Service: Once you arrive at the station, simply call the hotel, and their free shuttle will pick you up within 10 minutes—a smooth and thoughtful start to your stay. Out of all the places we stayed during our honeymoon, this was by far our favorite. From the room to the people, the food, the atmosphere, and the experience—it was unforgettable. I would 100% recommend The Unique Post Hotel to anyone visiting Zermatt.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel in Zermatt! From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. We were pleasantly surprised with a room upgrade, which set the tone for a perfect visit. The hotel has a beautiful design that blends traditional wooden charm with a clean, modern aesthetic. Everything was spotless, and the atmosphere throughout was peaceful and quiet—just what we needed to relax. The location is ideal—just a short walk from the train station and right near all the main shops and restaurants. The staff were also incredibly polite and professional, making us feel welcome throughout our stay. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Zermatt. We’d love to return!

Even the toilet was ergonomic! Little details throughout the room, thoughtful design, wonderful staff willing to do whatever it takes, and great breakfast! The variety of restaurants is impressive and each one feels unique to the others. We were here during the biggest party of the year and we slept well on the 4th floor. We will be back! Thanks, Post!
Evan T — Google review
Terrific location with very friendly and helpful staff. Multiple restaurants, bars and quiet corners to chat all under one roof! And oh, there is also a wonderful spa with a sauna, steam and whirlpool. First class!
R G — Google review
Unique Post Hotel is the perfect place to stay in Zermatt. Great location, kind team members and impressive offerings. Breakfast included was awesome and the pub downstairs was friendly and fun as well. We visited for our honeymoon and were upgraded to the Matterhorn suite- this has to be the nicest hotel room in all of Zermatt with a huge 360° rooftop terrace! Being in the heart of town, you can hear the commotion below if the windows are open, but once you shut them, we couldn’t hear a thing. All the details throughout the property are beautiful. We would like to return for a winter trip and will book again without hesitation!
Kristina G — Google review
This is a good hotel with good value for money. The room size is medium. The location is good with a shuttle service to the train station. Breakfast has a bit too little food, not much variety. The staff service is very good. You can arrange pick-up and drop-off via WhatsApp. The view from the room shows the Matterhorn mountain but unfortunately there's something blocking part of the view.
Nishaaa I — Google review
The best hotel I stayed at in Switzerland. The rooms were clean and spacious, with a truly delicious breakfast and great service. The spa inside the hotel is also not to be missed. Thanks to a free upgrade, I was able to enjoy a wonderful night. As the name suggests, it’s a very unique hotel. And early in the morning, I even had an unexpected “visitor” at my window — such a fun little surprise that became a great memory.

Adler Hitta is a mountain restaurant located on Findeln, offering indoor seating and an outdoor terrace with stunning views of the Matterhorn. Skiers can easily access it from the Sunegga Express, while non-skiers have the option to hike from there. The restaurant is known for its specialty whole chicken and rotisserie dishes. While it may be considered less glamorous than some neighboring competitors, it offers a cozy mountain hut atmosphere and delicious food.
It lived up to it’s stellar reputation. We had a spectacular meal while basking in the sun and admiring the Matterhorn. A big thank you to the maitre d’ for helping us tape together the remnants of my wife’s ski boot. 4.9

Talk about having a great culinary experience on the slopes! I had veal cheeks. My friends had the small chicken and the stroganoff chicken. The veal cheeks were just amazing 🤩

We had a very nice lunch at Adler Hitta after doing the 5 lakes hike. We didn't have a reservation and were able to get in just fine. The food was excellent and it was fun to eat while looking at the gorgeous views. And they were kind enough to adapt a dish to make it vegetarian for me. Would recommend!

Highly recommend this restaurant! The food is amazing. My favorite dishes are beef tartar and green salad with tiger prawns. Tiger prawns are very big and fresh! The staff recommended mixing Italian and French dressings and we loved it! The view is very stunning and the staff are also very friendly and service-minded. My aunt hurt her ankle on the way to the restaurant and the owner was so kind to us. She offered the ice pack and drove us to a cable station! 😍🙏🏼

Loved this place - book for a nice lunch outside, or if you can't get a booking they do have some tables and barrels to sit on near their outdoor bar which is fine as long as it's not to cold outside. DJ outside playing some tunes some days. Great party atmosphere.

Alex Lounge Bar & Fumoir is a sophisticated and refined spot located within Hotel Alex, offering a combination of rustic Swiss chalet and opulent 19th-century mansion ambiance. The bar boasts an impressive drinks menu and serves delicate crepes and blinis in the early evening. It's an ideal meeting place with a homely atmosphere, perfect for enjoying coffee, cake, or an aperitif. The lounge offers plenty of space to relax and enjoy tasty appetizers.
A great surprise. It’s my third time in Zermatt and my first time to this fun filled bar. The ambulances incredible. Bar tenders were nice and helpful at helping select new drinks. Dessert was awesome! The lounge is like nothing else around. Totally worth it just to get a dessert and hang out. Family friendly with sports in the TV in one area and pool/billiards table fir all to enjoy. Fireplaces adore every room. Lots of private social areas that can be reserved for parties or small groups. A must see in Zermatt. Enrique was a great server and was highly spirited. DJ was great with fun music played at an appropriate level to enjoy and still be able to hold a private conversation without raising your voice. Well done everyone!

I stayed here only one night because I came especially just for one concert that was part of the unplugged festival and the hotel is fantastic, that I actually considered to stay longer 😄 I had a single room which was very good. The swimming pool and spa area are also great and the breakfast is fantastic.

This was one of the BEST hotels I’ve ever stayed at. The staff is wonderful and very friendly. The breakfast each morning is filled with delicious breakfast options. The pool and spa are incredible. We loved our hotel room, it had a balcony that had beautiful views over the city of Zermatt. The service here is unbeatable. It’s very close to the train station which is always a bonus as well. We loved our stay at the Alex Hotel and highly recommend it if you are in Zermatt.

Great hotel! Great service! Wonderful staff! From the perfect location (just a around the corner from the train station with zero noise) to the perfect view of the Matterhorn! Hotel Alex feels like staying with family without all the inquisitive questions. Lovely rooms and also lovely lounges to enjoy a cocktail or beer. The "key board" at reception is like nothing I've seen before and it works! Our stay included breakfast and it was such a lovely way to start the day and the selection was more than enough (even for picky eaters)! Truly a delight to sit in the beautiful dining room and enjoy such a delightful breakfast to start your phenomenal day in Zermatt! Thank you, Hotel Alex, for a perfect experience in your perfect hotel... 💙

We came across the Alex hotel while wandering the streets on Saturday night looking for a place to eat, and just off the main strip we found Hotel Alex. They have a large dining hall but - we saw the lounge and decided THAT is where we wanted to site. This is the largest lounge in likely all of Zermatt with multiple rooms all decorated differently so each “area” is sectioned off. We found a quiet corner and were welcomed by the bartender who happened to be the one to take care of us all night. We had a five-course meal for $60 Swiss Francs which includes unlimited bread, salad bar, gazpacho, ravioli in garlic cream sauce, beef tenderloin, and for dessert chocolate cake and raspberry sorbet. Incredible value considering this incredible selection. We loved the salad bar!! The bartender helped me with my wine selection and brought me three tasters! Very classy. I would come back and I would highly recommend. Note, given the summer off season, expect the service to be relaxed and on the slower side. This bartender took care of the entire lounge and the kitchen was on the floor below in the main dining hall. Oh, to top it all off - the bartender gave us both a complimentary small serving of schnapps because he heard us talking about it!! So kind and a very nice touch.

Felt like a princess, it was probably the most beautiful hotelroom i have ever stayed in. The dreamy decor is consistent throughout the hotel, which is spotlessly clean. The Spa is great, there are many options for breakfast, while the restaurant has a great wine selection. Very good value for the price.

Great hotel. We got the smaller suite and it is great. The bathroom is outstanding. Though the decor of the bath doesn’t fit the rest of the old style Swiss hotel. The breakfast is great!! Staff is incredibly friendly. The spa and pool are really good. My wife loved her massage.

We hosted a group here for private drinks & a gathering and it was absolutely perfection. The team was amazing to work with, the cocktails were fantastic, and the overall atmosphere was great and unique for a town like Zermatt. Bonus point for the live music As well!

We went for drinks after dinner. The Malina was delicious, especially the limoncello foam on top of the refreshing cocktail. The band was talented and the vibe was relaxed and fun. The bartenders were amazing, watching them mix drinks was so entertaining. We had a great time!!

Live music was great. If you can beat the crowd and get a table, it is ideal. You can also miss the line and bouncer. They leave a huge amount of standing space on the dance floor. Good drinks and it gets loud and crowded to where there’s not much dancing.
Sydney M — Google review
Very rude face control with stupid dress code for ski resort place UPD for the owners/managers: Does having a dress code also come with a rude attitude? Your response, lacking an apology for your security staff’s behavior and instead showing arrogance, only reinforces the idea that this is a place every skier in Zermatt should avoid. Best regards.

Great atmosphere, great drinks and the staff were very friendly, easy to work with when organizing a “welcome drinks” night with a group of about 50 people.

We were there 3 weeks ago on Wednesday evening, during Latino party. They have a weird cocktails choise.I ordered one, 20 CHF, it was the worst that I drunk in my life. We decided to continue with the beer...nothing wrong. Fantastic musik..at least.

We went there after dinner to have a quick drink and we were lucky to get a nice table on the road with a view to the walking street. Our waitress Isabella was very nice, she recommended some drink, we had a nice chat with here about Zermatt and stuff. Very good time. Good Moscau Mule and Margaritas.

If I could give this bar more than 5 stars, I would!! My girlfriend and I traveled from LA to Zermatt for a ski trip. This was our first stop upon arriving in town. There were people of all ages and from all over Europe and the US. The bartenders were very kind and made great drinks, and the music was solid. The band played pretty much all American songs. They also took requests!! Within 10 minutes of arriving, we met a group from the US (Boston), and within 30 minutes, we met another group from Switzerland. We returned to this bar each night of our stay because of the good prices, the energy, proximity to our hotel, and because it stayed open late! Also very important detail for all the girlies out there: my friend ended up hitting it off with a very wonderful Swiss man at this bar and they are now dating!!! A literal dream come true!!!! 🫶🏽❤️

Snowboat is a popular spot in the charming village of Zermatt, offering a perfect break from summer activities. The top deck features sun loungers for relaxation with cocktails and snacks like hummus and guacamole. The bar's owner, Donald Scott, often joins guests for drinks and dinner at this pet-friendly establishment. During winter, patrons can enjoy drinks on the patio under warm blankets provided by friendly staff, while in the summer season, drinks are served jacuzzi-side.
Great food and great beer! We had some quesadillas as starters which were really tasty, and came with three sauces. As the main dish, the burgers were amazing and came with coleslaw which was far better than any coleslaw salad I’ve had before! The staff was also pretty friendly and fun.

Really good menu! Salads, meat, seafood... There you can eat delicious and healthy! The restaurant is downstairs, and the bar is on the first floor.

Great service. Fun and interactive staff . Stopped in after a long day of mountain biking and sat on the main level bar at the open window. We had a beer, a wine and some natchos with three dips. As a Canadian - the natchos reminded me of Doritos and the dips were guacamole, sour cream and chive dip, and a tomatoe salsa. It was quick service in a fun environment. I would go back!!

Really enjoyed our meal! The staff were fast, friendly and efficient. I had the lamb, which was lovely - as was the deconstructed lemon pie for afters. Great location, and the interior was decorated like a sexy pirate ship.

During lockdown the restaurant is working for take-away only and proposes few sets of sushi. Due to a high demand sometimes you need to wait up to an hour, but it totally worth it! Sushi are delicious!

Not sure their service was good enough. Damn price. They charged me 41 francs for a crab burger and a bottle of beer. Food taste was not too bad but never worth that price. I feel like they ripped me off.

Hotel Alpenhof is a family-run 4-star superior retreat in the heart of Zermatt, offering rustic-chic rooms and a range of upscale amenities. The property features a piano bar, posh restaurant, indoor pool, spa area with natural light, hot tub, sauna, steam baths and tropical shower. With an alpine style and modern twist throughout, it's located opposite the Sunnegga Cable Car Station and just a short walk from the resort center.
We had a fantastic stay at Hotel Alpenhof in Zermatt last week. I was travelling with my partner and our two golden retrievers, and from start to finish, we were made to feel incredibly welcome. Our room was spacious and comfortable - perfect for the four of us - and the food in the restaurant was absolutely delicious. We’d especially like to give a big shout out to Maya who was managing the bar throughout our day, who was warm, friendly, and went out of her way to take great care of us throughout our stay. We highly recommend staying at Hotel Alpenhof. It’s a wonderful place with great staff, excellent food, and a very dog-friendly atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back!

We had a wonderful stay at this charming chalet-style hotel in Zermatt. While the rooms were on the smaller side, the authentic Alpine atmosphere and cozy ambiance more than compensated for the limited space. The staff was exceptionally friendly and welcoming throughout our visit. The hotel's amenities were excellent, particularly the pool and saunas, which provided the perfect way to relax after days of exploring the mountains. Overall, a delightful experience that captured the true spirit of a Swiss mountain retreat.

Great hotel a short walk downhill from the train station, reception team incredibly helpful and knowledgeable, they offer a departure service back to the station when you check out, in house restaurant provided generous portions of very good food in the evening with a full range of food for breakfast . Our room was on the 1st floor over the main entrance with a balcony, not much noise from the road ( it’s not that busy), room was comfortable as to be expected from 4 stars, I had some issues turning on the lights but I think this is a Swiss thing as It’s not the first time time ( could be me ). Would happily recommend.

The food was good. Coffee was not. Location was good. Some staff was great and some not. I think just consistency of service was off. Light switches in the bedrooms were so confusing. The shower has one of those overhead rain shower that was really annoying after 5 days. Also, if you go in Oct or may it’s the 2 months they let trucks in and construction happen. We were woken up multiple mornings with jackhammering in the hotel. Also, made it not fun to hangout there. We worked through an agent and this is something that should have been mentioned before we chose this time of year or this hotel. Just expected a lot more for a 4 star hotel.

We loved this hotel. The rooms were very comfortable. There was an amazing shower , with so much water it would be illegal in California . They provide a day pack if you wish to hike and there are beautiful trails minutes away from the hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely like to come back. On and the view of the Matterhorn from our deck was priceless.

We recently spent 3 nights at the Hotel Alpenhof in Zermatt. An easy walk from the train station we were greeted warmly by staff. The rooms are neat, clean and very comfortable. The spa and pool were clean and well cared for. Food was delicious and afternoon coffee and cake in the bar was very inviting and a nice touch. Drinks in the bar were delivered by an always helpful and smiling Ali (he makes a mean espresso martini). While having drinks there we heard Ali warmly welcome returning travellers making them feel immediately at home. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel. We have had a great time in Zermatt made even better by the staff at the Hotel Alpenhof

Everything about this hotel was perfect. The service was impeccable and the staff are genuinely warm and kind. There’s a hot tub, sauna and trampoline. They also have a tea and coffee time with sweet treats for FREE. The people at reception were exceptionally friendly and went above and beyond to ensure we had a comfortable stay. The hotel is also a 2 min. walk away from the Blauherd-Sunnegga funicular. They also offered a complimentary shuttle to the train station when we left. The bed and sofa bed were comfortable (we were a group of 3). AC worked well. Breakfast had a great variety.

Grand Hotel Zermatterhof is a luxurious and historic hotel located in the heart of Zermatt, Switzerland. It has been a favorite among celebrities and royalty since 1878. The hotel offers a romantic experience with its period features combined with modern elegance. Guests can enjoy magnificent views of the Swiss Alps, including the iconic Matterhorn, from their rooms. The hotel also boasts outstanding dining at the Michelin-starred Alpine Gourmet Prato Borni.
We had a fantastic stay at Grand Hotel Zermatterhof! From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming, professional, and attentive — the level of customer service really stood out and made us feel genuinely cared for. The room was very clean, comfortable, and well-equipped, and the breakfast each morning was absolutely delicious with a great variety of high-quality options. If I had one small suggestion, it would be to take another look at the pool temperature. It was quite cold during our visit, which made it hard to enjoy — perhaps it should be a bit puzzling that the main pool stays mostly empty while guests crowd into the jacuzzi. It’s a small detail, but one worth considering given how excellent the rest of the experience was. Overall, we had a lovely time and would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area. Thank you to the whole team for making our stay so enjoyable!

We could not have stayed at a better place in Zermatt. The Grand Hotel Zermatterhof is centrally located, easy walking with a wonderful staff. We stayed for two nights in early September and the weather and our stay was perfect! We were given a balcony with superb views of The Matterhorn and overlooking the town. Our stay here made our Switzerland visit even more special. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. Everything in our room was well thought out. More than adequate electrical outlets, coffee maker in our room with varieties of coffee and Swiss hot chocolate too. The staff greeted us warmly with friendly and personable care. We felt very welcomed and appreciated. There is nothing I could ask or add for our hotel stay. There was even a horse drawn car carriage for transportation to and from the hotel to the train station. Breakfast was excellent and nothing fell short in our stay at the Grand Hotel Zermatterhof. Highly recommended.

Best service specially Lana from reception as soon as we checked in they upgraded our room to the view of Matterhorn and when we were checking out we informed them that we will have our train at 7 and we have a couple of hours to kill and they offered us to go to the spa which was really nice of them also our server Tania from breakfast was super nice and polite and had a fun conversation with us overall great experience 10/10 will recommend . Thank you so much!😁

Fantastic hotel combining charm of the Belle Epoque with great modern service. My husband made a booking in this hotel at the last moment and during the train trip there, he was telling me that he is not sure if its very good, but we are mainly going to be outdoors hiking so it doesn't matter that much. He should not have worried! From the second we arrived, and have been informed that we didn't need to walk from the train station as the hotel could pick us up by an electric vehicle (Zermat is a car free town) or even by a horse driven carriage, we knew that the hotel is fantastic. The hotel was beautiful, and that included restaurants, lobby, bars, outside terrace as well as our room. The room was very large, furnished in a very tasteful and comfortable manner. The buffet breakfast had a very extensive menu, but what I like the most was that there was a pianist planing through the breakfast time. Depending on side of the building you can have a view of the Matterhorn or not. We had the view of other mountains and the church and I loved it too. And finally I am going to mention what I loved about the hotel the most: it was the information about the hikes and the weather that every person working in the reception, not just the concierge, was able to provide us with. It was evident for us that they loved their work and that that they loved and knew the mountains around them. We hope to be back soon, to beautiful Zermatt and to this fantastic hotel. The hotel has a Michelin star restaurant. We had dinner there and I can also recommend it but I will write a separate review about it. Resort La Ginabelle is a relaxed accommodation with both indoor and outdoor pools, a restaurant, bar, and spa. The hotel offers gourmet cuisine, a large spa area with an outdoor pool at 34C, free WiFi throughout, and a kids' club for families.
We had an absolutely amazing stay at this hotel! Upon arrival, the front desk staff kindly upgraded us to a suite free of charge, which was such a wonderful surprise. The surroundings are incredibly peaceful, making it a perfect place to relax and unwind. Best of all, we had a direct view of the stunning Matterhorn right from our room — truly breathtaking. The breakfast was generous and delicious, with plenty of options to choose from. Every member of the staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful, making us feel warmly welcomed throughout our stay. Highly recommended — we would love to come back again!

We enjoyed our stay in Resort La Ginabelle. We didn’t expect the Matterhorn view and how cozy our room is. The staff are friendly and always helpful. The spa and heated pool was the best. After hiking in the mountains, it helped relax our muscles. If we could stay longer, we would. We will definitely book this hotel again when we come back to Zermatt. Thank you Resort La Ginabelle for our unforgettable stay.

We had the most wonderful time with our 22 month old son at La Ginabelle! We made great use of the kids club and loved the small touches throughout that took children into consideration. We love sauna - so it was a perfect combination to have the wellness amenities along with the kid-friendly features! My husband has food allergies and the chef was very accommodating to this! All of the meals were delicious and we never worried about if they were free from allergens because the wait staff was so very knowledgeable. Aggelliana and Antonios on the wait staff were incredible! Aggelliana in particular was very knowledgeable about the menu regarding allergens, and she met any special requests with speed and precision. And both of them were very sweet with our son Rowan! They talked to him, brought him toys/activities, made him laugh etc- this was helpful for us to enjoy our dinner since it can be difficult to entertain a toddler for a 4 course meal! They are the perfect staff to have at a kinderhotel to make it fun and welcoming! I recommend La Ginabelle if you are traveling with kids and want everyone to feel pampered!

La Ginatelle was certainly a highlight of our trip during our stay in Zermatt. Beautiful clean rooms with balcony, with view of the Matterhorn. Incredible room service, attentive and dedicated personnel. Great included breakfast. Wish we could have taken advantage of the spa or the pool, busy schedule. La Ginatelle is definitely a resort, away from the busy town center. Nevertheless, it is only a few minutes walk to the train station, and they also have a shuttle. As we left very early, too early for the shuttle, they conveniently called and payed for the taxi. It is also located by the river that runs through Zermatt, with its relaxing sound. Highly recommended.

This upscale resort features top-notch amenities including multiple restaurants, a wine cellar, and a bar. The highest tram in Europe conveniently connects the resort to Zermatt's center, while ski-to-door access makes it ideal for outdoor enthusiasts.
There are not many truly five-star hotels in my POV because there are always things you can nitpick on. But this place is. We had the pleasure of staying here during the skiing season this year. Zermatt is absolutely stunning and this hotel has brought an even better experience. The location is fantastic for a ski-in and ski-out hotel. It has a rental ski shop attached to it, which made the whole experience smooth if you don't bring your own skis. Sure, you do have to take the train to Riffelalp station and walk or get on the ski motobike to get to the hotel, but a small price to pay. The view of the hotel room is also fantastic. We had the Matterhorn right outside the window (you can see it from the photo). The staff is exceptional and helpful. I cannot wait to return next year and make this my yearly skiing destination.

When our train up the mountain broke down we had the option to get off and hike to the nearest train station. We ended up at Riffelalp Resort while deciding if we would wait out the broken train or hike back down to town. The host greeted us with hospitality and coffees even though we were not hotel guests. He helped us find a hiking path and convinced us to go visit the Riffelsee Lake. We are so grateful for his kindness and willingness to help us. We hope to come back as guests next time we are in Zermatt. Thank you!

What an amazing place. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very special. The suite with the view of the Matterhorn was sublime. We got engaged 💍 on the balcony and it was perfect. Massage was wonderful and the view from the spa pool outside was to die for. The breakfast choice was plentiful and the food in the evenings at both restaurants was fantastic. We can't wait to return to celebrate many more special days with the team here. We loved it.

Could not recommend Riffelalp any more. The hotel is beautiful and a great combination of cozy and chic. The staff are all so amazing, especially Jessica and Giacomo. They were so helpful and accommodating. The restaurants are great, we had dinner at Al Bosco. The hotel is situated in a beautiful location where you get an amazing view of the Matterhorn, and is also in walking distance to several hikes around the Matterhorn, including the 5 lakes hike. If you’re visiting Zermatt, it is absolutely worth it to stay here.
Sydney D — Google review
The hotel has a unique situation in Zermatt, being truly ski in & out on the slopes on the Gonergrat. It is a pleasure putting your skis on & being on the slopes immediately. Most of the staff was very pleasant, especially the French maitre D & most of the members of the front desk team. The outdoor pool was small but pleasant with a nice view of the matterhorn. Unfortunately the hotel falls short on multiple things which are unacceptable for the 5 star rating & the price. I made a booking last minute during peak season, the first "natur classic" room I stayed in was not up to standards expected, it was small, extremely dark, the furniture was not practical & outdated, the bathroom was nowhere near the standard of any 5 star hotel. The housekeeping fell short forgetting to replenish basic necessities like shower gel, even when I purposely left the empty bottle in the middle of the bathroom. I asked for an upgrade & was put in communication with "Patricia", the woman was beyond unpleasant for no reason, seemed to have a problem with the fact that I asked for a quiet room, ideally away from any rooms with kids or connecting doors, claiming this was a "family hotel", although the romantic pictures of the couples in the outdoor jacuzzi aren't exactly screaming family friendly on the hotel's website; she also seemed to have a problem with the fact that I was alone, for god only knows what reason she felt the need to lie & say that I had warned them a friend of mine would be joining me, which I never did, I guess she wanted to keep her last premium room for a couple to make a few extra hundred francs in dinner bills; the website booking.com showed a room of the matterhorn view category available for the remaining duration of my stay but she told me that was not the case & it required a room change - that is simply not possible as booking.com does not have the capability of showing a room available over a period of time which requires a room change, either way, she wanted to be difficult & being thanked for doing her job which tarnished the experience. When I finally was given the upgraded room, I was shocked to realise the magical matterhorn view was completely ruined by a ridiculously large inflatable highlighter-yellow duck in the middle of the garden right under the matterhorn & facing all the most expensive rooms. That's whes I realised this was indeed a "family" hotel, god only knows why they chose to ruin every single photo any paying customer may wish to take from their matterhorn view room with such an absurd & ugly artefact. The room was more spacious & the bathroom was up to the 5 star standard, however it was still dark & the most shocking aspect was the unbearable noise of the doors being slammed shut from all the rooms nearby & the floor above. For a few hours daily, every morning and evening, while guests went on to breakfast and ski, same thing at night when they left for dinner & came back to sleep, the hotel floor turned into a complete nightmare, the vibrations & sound of the doors slamming made you jump out of bed, it is beyond shocking that no member of staff has realised this & done anything about it. There was no kettle & no tea in the room. I stayed in the hotel for a week, whilst it was possible to go to the village for dinner, the train times to come back were very limited which it made it impractical & risky. There were 2-3 restaurants on site, whilst the food was good, the options quickly became boring & the number of "healthy" options were extremely limited, the menu for the room service was equally disappointing with a single "healthy" ish option available. Bills for the same things ordered were different depending on the staff, some staff at the Alex restaurant seemed to expected guests to greet them first which was surprising for a 5 star hotel. On my last day, I asked for a late checkout even if I had to pay an extra fee, the "shift manager", i guess Patricia, granted me 30 min extra.
Sebastien D — Google review
So it bugs me that anyone would rate this less than 5. I had to travel for work so I know a little about hotels and food. My Lifetime Marriott profile shows 2397 nights with Marriott and Starwood. There is not a Marriott hotel in Zermatt (rumor is they are building a Ritz to open in 2026) so we looked at the Omnia and Mt Cervin but I am so glad we stayed here. We traveled late June 2024 right after a flood. We heard reports while in Chamonix that Zermatt was closed so we contacted the resort. They were so helpful and professional and assured us everything was copesetic. There are very few places in the US that have fresh squeezed orange juice (included with free breakfast) so I would recommend just for that. Oh did I mention if you like to hike this place rocks! Food at the restaurants was also very good. I was worried about the Gornergrat but with the Peaks Pass this was seamless. If I return to Zermatt it will be here and not at the Ritz! Oh and someone said something about the Cigar lounge. That is a very cool room to visit even though I don't smoke. I NEVER smelled smoke outside that room and the Check-in and game room are right next door to that room. Hmm?

Avoid this place for sisha. The staff admittedly has never prepared a shisha before. If you want to change the flavour they charge you a double price.
Matija G — Google review
Very bad place with no respect to customers waited for more than 40 min and the wnd wairotr is shouting that he is alone and busy. Not recommended
Qais A — Google review
(Translated by Google) The atmosphere is good and the decorations are beautiful. The taste of the food is average, a little salty, but it's considered safe for the stomach. (Original) บรรยากาศดีเหลือตกแต่งได้สวยงาม รสชาติอาหารกลางๆออกเค็มนิดหน่อยแต่ก็ถือว่าฝากท้องได้ครับ
