Soushi Menya Musashi is a renowned ramen restaurant with over 10 outlets in Tokyo, including its Shinjuku Main Branch which has been serving customers for more than 20 years. The restaurant's name pays homage to Miyamoto Musashi, a legendary swordsman known for his mastery of dual-wielding swords, reflecting the unique 'double soup' technique used in their signature ramen.
Delicious tsukemen with great portions, typical for the dish. Price was a bit higher but fits the location I think. There was a slight wait and a longer line started to form for a weekday dinner.
Paulo G — Google review
On our third day in Tokyo, we decided to try a popular ramen spot for dinner. Despite the 35-minute queue and an additional 10-minute wait after placing our order at the machine, the experience was well worth it. I instantly fell in love with the rich, thick broth and the melt-in-your-mouth pork belly, which was incredibly satisfying. The portions were generous, making it even more enjoyable. This place has left such an impression that I’ll definitely be returning on my next visit to Tokyo!
Super A — Google review
My family and I really enjoyed this Ramen spot. The place had a very good vibe and the staff was super friendly but moe importantly we felt welcomed. The ramen was amazing, probably top 5 of all the ramens I have tried.
Michael N — Google review
Pretty good ramen with thick, gravy like broth and thick springy noodles. Not my favorite bowl of ramen but decent for a cold night. Didn't have to wait too long at around 7pm on Saturday. Service was quite OK too. Order at the kiosk and wait for the food.
Sihan G — Google review
Order at machine before getting started. 10min wait at 7pm on Saturday. Huge portions of thicker type springy ramen, very tender and thick pork, incredible lava egg. Prefer the soup ramen to the dry dipping tsukemen as the dipping sauce isn't as warm and it's chilly weather now in mid Dec. Wonderful atmosphere and service, customers get to wait indoors out of the cold. Not my favourite ramen, but decent. JPY5500 for 4 huge bowls. Water and serviettes provided.
Joyce L — Google review
An interesting ramen shop. The atmosphere is good, you need to wait in line, and there are many people at dinner time. The quantity is sufficient and the taste is delicious.
Yuan — Google review
Originally went for the ramen but was tempted by the recommended Tsukemen. The おすすめTsukemen is a must try. The sauce is rich and full of flavor. Ordering from the ticketing machine is straight forward, they have an English option. Will come again to try the other menus.
Arnold C — Google review
I saw this place many times on Instagram so i decided to have it as my first meal in Japan. However, it was so salty 😬 Pork, ham and broth were all salty. I had the famous Tsukemen with egg. I am sorry to say this but I would never go back again. By the way, staffs were all nice. Good service 👍 Atmosphere was also good. I was there around lunch time but didn't wait so long

Udon noodle restaurant
Izakaya restaurant
Japanese restaurant
Tsurutontan Shinjuku is a popular spot in Tokyo known for its freshly made udon noodles and enormous, oversized bowls of savory goodness. The open kitchen allows diners to watch as the udon is prepared with precision, then combined with various broths and toppings like shrimp tempura or truffle cream. The restaurant offers a wide range of broth options, from traditional Japanese styles to fusion creations.
I visited “Tsurutontan” for a late-night meal for the first time in a while. Even around midnight, the restaurant was lively—classic Kabukicho vibes! I ordered my favorite dish, the cold mentaiko udon, with an extra topping of mentaiko. The generous amount of mentaiko paired with the chewy udon was simply perfect. Tsurutontan’s udon never fails to impress. It’s such a treat to enjoy food of this quality late at night. With options like sashimi and small dishes, it’s also a great spot for casual izakaya-style dining. Thank you for the delicious meal!
MapGPT B — Google review
Served a carbonara udon the size of my head, full of flavour and packed with tasty ingredients with thin (you can choose) udon, perfection. Such good value in a upmarket space. Service was lovely and loved sitting at the bar in the love seats. Googled "best udon near me" and googles recommendation absolutely delivered.
Amber H — Google review
There was a line when we went but it moved fast. What I liked about the place was the ordering process. Ordered on a tablet so we took our time determining what we wanted. Ordered beef udon and shabu udon. Loved the option to customize. We weren’t that hungry so ordered with half the noodles and all the vegetables. After ordering the food came up pretty quickly. Food was great! The smoke salmon was really good and the way they presented it was just so fun.
Emily T — Google review
Big restaurant with perfectly delicious Udon dishes. Located on B1, you need to go down the stairs. Nice Ambiente and prices are very fair. We paid around 40$ for two which is nice. Go there hungry, serving sizes are quite big. Highly recommend this place
Armin K — Google review
Great place to have Udon located in Kabukicho area. Great choices of different kind of Udon, some are original and other more traditional. The Udon are perfectly cooked and the dish are really tasty, not too salty, just as it need. Be careful about the portion you chose, you might have a huge portion. Some side dishes as karaage are available too. The atmosphere is a bit stylish, bit sifted without being kitsch. The staff is friendly. You might have to wait a bit before being sitted.
Federico D — Google review
Beef udon and Zaru udon was okay. Go for the thin udon as they are much more chewy and easier to bite, compared to the regular udon.
Que — Google review
Good atmosphere, I liked how their opening times, very good for tourists who arrived late at night. Good munch, we had the Sukiyaki and Beef Udon. Sukiyaki was a tad too sweet for me but the Beef Udon was so so yummy. I prefer the Thick Udon too. Would go again if I had the chance.
Plureon — Google review
There's a moldy smell, probably because of being underground, but otherwise as good as every other Tsurutontan.

Mexican restaurant
Bar
Restaurant
Hacienda del Cielo, which translates to "House in the Sky" in Spanish, is a vibrant rooftop restaurant and bar located in Tokyo's Shibuya district. Situated on the ninth floor of a building, this modern Mexican establishment offers impressive views of the city skyline, including iconic landmarks like Tokyo Tower and Mori Tower. The venue features a colorful and casual atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for enjoying modern Mexican cuisine along with innovative cocktails.
Lunch for 2 on a Saturday. Walk-in with no reservation and we were seated immediately at the bar. Friendly and quick service. We ordered a number of small tapas style plates, all good. Drank a Mexican beer and had a shit glass of marguerita (which is a wonderful alternative for a lunchtime pick me up!) Outdoor deck with great views too if you wish to eat or drink al fresco. Recommended. David W, Feb 2025
David W — Google review
We had lunch in the terrace area with the view of Tokyo tower🗼 The view was fantastic! We had the lunch set; the tacos plate and the meat fajita. The meat of the tacos plate was fatty and the edible part was limited. Considering the price, the content of the meal was fair but I’m not confident I will go back again. The music was a bit loud so this could be improved as well. The service was nice and they were kind enough to exchange the toppings considering our allergies.
Kana — Google review
While my husband and I absolutely love this restaurant, we feel the portions have become significantly smaller. The tortilla plate comes with four tortillas, two of which are incredibly small, and oddly, extra tortillas don’t seem to be available. You do get plenty of filling, but the tortilla situation is rather disappointing. I had booked three weeks in advance to celebrate my husband’s birthday, yet we were seated in a shabby corner next to the avocado station. After only an hour, we were told to place our final order, which made everything feel rushed. You’re expected to leave after two hours, so we didn’t have the chance to take a breather, properly enjoy dessert, or order another drink. Considering the price point, it all felt quite underwhelming. Service was just okay.
Natasha M — Google review
I mean, the food and view are pretty much I find it hard to call this Mexican food. For a course of 5000 yen per person it’s a lot of food but nothing left a (good) impression. Staff is nice and attentive for the most part but a lot of the time the call button doesn’t work. I wouldn’t go here for food at all, but hey you can see Tokyo tower behind your food
Juniper W — Google review
Ambience and service is great!! We tried veg options over there for which I felt taste was okayish. Nachos were good but veg fajitas were quite okay. Best part was undoubtedly the dessert, very delicious, one can pre-order dessert if you are planning to go this place to celebrate something. Prices here are on higher end, wlthough ambience and vibes makes it worth visiting once.
Purva S — Google review
Popular with tourists and foreigners. Good food, drinks. Great view on terrace. On sunny day you will be cooked there though, they have no sunshades. Always full, reservation recommended.
Laura O — Google review
A good Mexican fine-dine restaurant with great view and service. The food is very authentic. Definitely in top few Mexican places in Tokyo for me.
Mohit P — Google review
I’ve visited this place more than five times, but for some reason, I never left a review until now! This spot is easily one of my favorites in Tokyo, and it has never let me down. The menu changes with the seasons, keeping everything fresh and delicious. I highly recommend the looong big margarita—it’s their signature drink, at least for me. I’ve tried all the flavors, and trust me, mango is hands-down the best!

Chiles Mexican Grill Harajuku is a cozy cantina tucked away behind the bustling Harajuku shopping strip. This laid-back restaurant offers a variety of Mexican-style burritos, tacos, fajitas, and salad bowls along with tequila cocktails and Mexican beers. The menu features fresh and authentic dishes at affordable prices. While the flavors may be tailored to suit the local palate, the food is described as satisfying and filling.
My wife and I were craving mexican but couldn’t find a restaurant that seemed appealing we stumbled across this restaurant and decided to give it a try. 10/10 Definitely do not regret coming here, as my wife is fully mexican she can say both the horchata and the meat/chicken were seasoned amazing, if you are looking for authentic mexican cuisine, come here and you won’t regret it!!

Nice little Mexican Bar with a tasty menu. The lady running the shop (the owner, I guess) seems to do a good job of managing the place, customers and everything in between. Bonus - we forgot a small alcohol spray bottle after our dinner and when we came back the next day, they actually kept it for us. Very nice gesture indeed. The margaritas tasted really good and the food is nice as well. Maybe not recommended for large groups, due to the small seating area, but up to 4 people can get a decent, Mexican meal plus drinks.
Martin P — Google review
I must tell you that if you are expecting a good food and service, please read my comment. I am going there for lunch time ,but when I arrived there , I take pictures first cos I will comment on google map . The chef thought I am a tourist and then he flipped the plank board “closed “ I was confused why he did this, because I saw there was not busy and the google map show is opened time. And I also saw the two people in the restaurant and ordered food. So I waited and took pictures. He saw me don’t want to leave and open the door said 予約and I show him the google map said where does it write down on your website or any information show should 予約?finally he realized I am not a tourist, and let me in, so the chef totally 嘘だ。cos when after me there are some Japanese come ,obviously they haven’t make any reservation and they just let them in. I was very disappointed for this restaurant cos I really liked Mexican food that I just seek the best food want to try, I often come this area for lunch and go to the Tokyo metropolitan gymnasium . Any one who just walked by or you looked like tourists should be careful they will treated you very rude. in Tokyo you can find as much as possible the authentic foreign food. Don’t bother to come this rude staff and food just so so restaurant, the same price you have any other good choices for sure. You can see other comments also said there rude attitude but my experience today even worse like oblivious discrimination and lie to customers.

Delicious Mexican food and friendly English speaking staff! Food: I ordered the salsa verde (green tomatillo sauce) chicken enchiladas and my friend ordered the red salsa chicken enchiladas. The plates came with choice of salsa/lime rice, beans, or guacamole. We both chose the lime rice, which was so good and perfectly balanced in flavor! The green enchilada sauce was also delicious and I highly recommend it! As for the red enchilada sauce, it was good but honestly lacked a little of bit of spices/flavor. The shredded chicken inside the enchiladas was amazing! So juicy and flavorful! Chips and salsa were also delicious and my friend ordered a strawberry shake which she rated a 7/10 because it was very sweet. Service and environment: We ate on the right side of the establishment which had an older AC unit so it was pretty warm inside. (We were told that the left side has better AC) It is a bit small inside but the design and decorations are nice. I believe every staff that was working spoke English along with Japanese! They were all chill and friendly which I really enjoyed. My notes: Maybe for tourists, paying ¥600 for All You Can Drink is not bad, but for locals it seems a bit pricey. The plates that the enchiladas were served on were very cute, but the sauce would easily overflow off the plate because of how small it was. This is just my personal feedback, overall the food and service is wonderful! Thank you!
Brie K — Google review
Simply the best Mexican restaurant in Tokyo. You can't do better at this price point. The food is exceptional and the portion size is adequate. All staff members speak English, Spanish and Japanese and they are always very kind.
Marcello G — Google review
Went here with my kids. Place is small with two separate rooms. We were places in the “annex” which has maybe a less genuine atmosphere even if it’s quieter so some peop might like it better. Had myself fajita plate, kids had burrito and quesadillas plus two orders of nachos. All food were delicious. My fajita with marinated beef and chicken came with black beans, cord, pepper, rice and guacamole plus 3 fajita. Very tasty. My son enjoyed so much the chicken adobo burrito, while the quesadillas looked poor in comparison but tasty. The two nachos, one regular and one meat (chicken) were so good and so loaded. Services was pretty fast and very attentive. Price was fair (burrito and quesadillas around 1200 each, fajita plate around 2000, nachos around 1000 each). If you are around Harajuku and fancy a tasty Mexican lunch this is the place for you.
Marco V — Google review
I went right at the peak of lunch on my way back from a business meeting. All seats were filled when I got there, but after a 10 minute wait, I was seated and was able to order right away. The food got out quite quickly too. Since I was rather ravenous, I ended up ordering the dos tacos set (pictured) as well as a chicken ranchero-filled quesadilla. All together, very delicious. I was, however, slightly disappointed there was no salsa or pico provided with the chips. I ended up using the side condiments (some pico and sour cream) that came with my quesadilla to accompany the chips. I was slightly taken aback there was no salsa, but my non-confrontational nature prohibited me from asking about anything. Oh well.
Joshua F — Google review
Food was good but literally everything cost extra even though it says included on the menu. The chips do not come with salsa and you only get like 6 chips. Also they sat me at a table next to a pillar where you honestly can't sit straight and only have 15cm of space.

Located in the bustling district of Shinjuku Southern Terrace, Shake Shack is a popular counter-serve chain offering a gourmet twist on fast-food classics like burgers and frozen custard. Originating from New York, this high-quality burger joint made its way to Tokyo in 2015, bringing with it the same menu and ingredients that have made it famous. The restaurant's commitment to quality extends to accommodating dietary preferences and allergies, offering lettuce wraps for those avoiding gluten. With its U.S.
As a Shake Shack lover, I was thrilled to try the limited-time offer of the Smashed Onion burger. Of course, being in a new city means a new Shake, so I grabbed the Hojicha shake as well. Both were awesome! We used self-service, so there was not much interaction with staff, but there were plenty available if help was required. The location is very clean. I haven’t met a Shake Shack I wouldn’t recommend, and this follows suit. Pop in and definitely try the limited-time burger if it’s still around; it rocks!
Joel D — Google review
This branch is busier than others in Tokyo, but the quality remains excellent. We visited on a weekend evening, and although it was crowded, there were still seats available both inside and outside. Ordering is simple via the tablet at the entrance, and you can choose your seat afterward, making it very convenient. The burger portions were just right—not too big or small—and we absolutely loved the fries, which were crispy on the outside and soft inside. The hojicha shake was a bit sweet for our taste, but overall, it was a great experience. Next time, I’d love to try their beer and other burgers. I recommend this branch for its spacious seating and enjoyable atmosphere.

Being a vegetarian we were in the hunt to find vegetarian burger to try. Since shake shack is just below our hotel we decided to try it out since they had the portobello burger and to our surprise it was really good! Burger size is good, portobello is well fried with cheese in a breaded crust. Ordering is easy as well, and it has different languages to choose from.

Always a fan of Shake Shack. The Shinjuku location is really nice. Located on the south side of Shinjuku station, while busy, it has plenty of seating outside. Great atmosphere, self-service is pretty quick, but we had to wait a while for our because it was that busy. Food quality is what you'd expect, consistently great smash burgers. A little pricey but as a treat Evey now and then, worth it!

Happiness in a bun! The burger was delicious and the fries were hot. You can get as much ketchup and mustard as you like. I really like their shakes too- if you like houjicha (roasted green tea), you have to try the houjicha shake. 💳 self-checkout by card 🗣English menu, tablet ordering ⚠️limited seating, would be hard for groups of more than 4

Shake Shack has become a must-stop for me every time I visit Japan. There’s just something extra special about enjoying their classic American burgers and crinkle-cut fries in a new city. The quality is always on point — juicy patties, soft buns, and that addictive ShackSauce. Whether it’s a quick lunch or a late-night bite, it never disappoints. It’s a little taste of home with a Tokyo twist!

They current have a curry cheese sauce for the fries (Japanese style curry), 1000000/10. It was so good. They also have a cucumber mint lemonade that was delicious . Burger was great. Def a must when in Tokyo due to the exclusive items on the menu

Denny's Shinjuku Chuokoen is a Japanese twist on the classic American diner chain. With over 500 locations across Japan, this family restaurant offers a surprising blend of Western and Japanese cuisine. The breakfast menu features familiar options like eggs and pancakes alongside traditional Japanese dishes such as grilled salmon and natto.
Food options was unexpected as it was completely different from a typical Denny's in the US. We just missed breakfast so had to go for the lunch options. We ordered the Japanese omelette rice, gyudon with udon noodles, and pancake desert. All the food options were Japanese food and tasted good. Drinks are unlimited refills as long as you purchase one. The service and place was fairly clean. Overall it was a great experience.

Grading on a curve for a family chain place Haven’t been to Dennys since corona and actually found it actually improved Ordered French toast. Lovely for the price and now they are using danish bread so even tastier 😙 Pancakes 🥞too. Dennys used to have a Japanese type hotcake which I wasn’t too much of a fan. Now they feel like America pancakes, think ihop 😚 Dennys now is using iPad so you can switch to English. Their drink bar having Coke Zero is HUGE

Very nice branch mix delicious food and nice staff💗 you order on the iPad and then get your drink yourself after you receive your order, the food was amazing, we tried the beef Hamburg and the fries and the black rice and also the peach parfait! Highly recommend!

Definitely not like the Denny's in the USA. I had the beef stew. It was delicious. The beef was fork tender & the gravy was rich with flavor. Also ordered the french fries with butter & soy sauce. The butter & soy sauce come in a powder packet. You open the packet, pour it in yhe bag that the fries come in, then empty the bag onto the plate. Soooo good!!!! Service was excellent. Before we leave Japan, we need to come back to try the speciality pancakes.

After multiple bad experiences with Denny's in the US, I swore that I will never again step into one. That said, curiosity killed the cat and I really wanted to know what the ones in Japan was like. The menu was completely different from the one in the US, which is a GOOD thing because it is actually better! We ordered a whole bunch of food. The server was very friendly, playing peekaboo with my son. My expectations was low but this blew me out of the water! I did not expect a Denny's to taste so good. The parfait I ordered had fresh peach and tasted delicious! Actually one of the best I've had. Thank you very much! 💖

Very fun Denny's. If you're an American visiting Tokyo, it will be cool to see how different Denny's is. Service is good, food is good, and affordable

Can't beat the value and taste of the French toast and drink combo. Been here a few times and always seated immediately, short wait for food, and short wait to pay after. Tablet ordering including an English option.

It was fine. Hard to carry luggage up all the stairs. The menu is not like the photos shown in or outside of the restaurant.

Tokori Shinjuku NOWA is a modern venue offering an all-you-can-eat option with booth seats, featuring renowned yakiniku grilled meat restaurants like Rokkasen and Jojoen. The restaurant serves premium wagyu and domestically raised Japanese beef dishes, including Wagyu beef sashimi and grilled meats. Visitors can indulge in Yamagata Beef and enjoy sets that include salads and small foods.
Lovely spot for yakiniku. Made a reservation online and were seated promptly. We ordered variety of foods and meats for grilling and it was all delicious. Service was friendly.

The waiter has been so patient when trying to communicate with us. The all you can eat wagyu beef option was perfect and totally worth it. In addition, it accommodates kids nicely and could be an option for parents that would like to enjoy Japanese BBQ with their kids.

I ordered the サムギョプサルビビンバ set and I think the set is much more worth it as it gets you a salad and small foods as well. They had an interesting drink you have at the beginning but I wasn’t listening so I don’t really know what it does. The ビビンバ was very nice and the employee mixes it for you. It was hot throughout the meal. The meat was a bit small though and it is overpriced, but obviously not for this floor of NOWA. It is 1650 yen with the set. Some people are saying the staff don’t speak English, but come on. You guys are in JAPAN.
Yuta I — Google review
The beef was good and the first round was served and grilled by a waitress. We chose the all-you-can-eat set with the pricest 13000 yen per person. The staff there were not professional enough to wear traditional japenese kimono when compared with another good reputated 六歌仙. We were frustrated that most of the staff did not know english. I ordered a raw chicken egg three times and finally got the correct one. The first two times the waitress gave me quail egg but she pretended understanding my sentence. For last order, I ordered one piece each of two parts of beef. but she turned out providing 4 pieces of each kind. What the service. The service was poorer than what we ate in a street food mini restaurant. We did not expect to have such service by paying 13000 yen per one. Overall I would not choose to come again next time if we want to have grilled beef.
Paul Y — Google review
Paid 3700 for special beef lunch set, was given short ribs, rump and rump roast! I like the rump, the beef was buttery and the fat dripped into the yummy brown rice. Great combination. Fast service.
Musho P — Google review
We ordered the 8500 yen buffet and we need to finish it within 2 hours. At the beginning, they will serve you the first plate with assorted A4 beef (compulsory)before we proceeded to A5 Wagyu beef. However, they served you the A5 beef ( which I ordered ) which we were not expected that good but the beef which below the average ( this is the second time we visited the restaurant). However, when we decided to order the beef with the last order, they served you the high quality beef which was the best beef during the entire bbq Buffet. Weird right? I think this is their strategy,I will recommend to get the ala carte menu.

Recommended by our Japanese friend a few years ago, we visit TOKORI every time we go to Tokyo since. A good place to have a wonderful yakiniku without the burden to reserve seats a long time in advance. Reasonable price with a good table wine list. A-la-carte menus have better quality than the buffet.

If you're in the bustling business district and find yourself hungry, look no further than Royal Host, a beloved Japanese family restaurant chain. With an extensive menu featuring vibrant photos, it’s hard to resist. Their breakfast buffet is a standout at 1980 yen, available from 6:30 to 10:30 am.
Got in right before the lunch rush so we were seated and had our food out pretty quick. The portion sizes were quite large for the price and I wasn't sure I would be able to finish it all. The sakura lychee drink was one of the tastiest beverages I've ever had.

Nice solid breakfast spot for good food. Came here for breakfast, reminded me of a Denny’s and Ihop back home. Good breakfast buffet.

I’m an aikidoist that likes to go to the morning class and this place is the only place i found that opens early enough to sit and eat breakfast before the 8am. Hot tip: show up as soon as they open or early because it gets busy with the patrons from the hotel adjacent (early in the morning). As usual, quality of food is good for a set menu. There was only one server in the morning so be patient. Coffee and drinks are self-serve so fill up with caffeine and hydrate.

Junkadelic is a Tex-Mex restaurant located near Nakameguro Station, known for its laid-back atmosphere and generous portions of burritos, enchiladas, and margaritas. The interior is adorned with Day of the Dead decorations and quirky knickknacks, creating a fun and nonchalant ambiance. While some find the food to be reminiscent of Junkadelic's grandeur, others feel that the dining experience lacks excitement.
I’m from California and this Mexican place was spot on. I got the enchiladas and the sauce that they used was one of the best! I also got the chips and salsa which was also very tasty. Their green hot sauce was spicy but so flavorful. And you can’t beat a frozen margarita!

A great little place with awesome drinks and great food with big portions. English friendly and the fun atmosphere is welcoming and lively. A range of different groups of people and they can have big groups too. We were easily able to talk and the food and drinks came quite quickly. We booked at 6pm so there was no wait and it seemed most people had booked so came straight in. Thank you and will be back for sure!

We were a group of 7, and we were sat in a room by the main dining area. The restaurant has quite a nice and vibrant atmosphere. I had the taco rice which was decent. All of the food we ordered was OK overall. Some of the dishes had too much cheese in. We also ordered some fruity margherita pitchers which were tasty, albeit a bit low on alcohol. Service was friendly and spoke English, which was welcomed. Prices were a bit high, as expected for foreign cuisine in Tokyo.

This is a super fun little Mexican spot near nakameguro. As a celiac in Japan, this is a great spot for lunch and or dinner. Since I knew I wanted tacos and guacamole and chips, I only asked if these were gluten free. They noted only the pork, ground beef and chorizo were as the other fillings used soy sauce. I didn’t discuss the rest of the menu but you could probably find out if the other items were safe to eat. It was also sooo yum! I’d highly recommend going here.

4th time eating here, but my first time going without a reservation. be prepared to wait 45m-1hr to sit down. as usual, the staff was friendly and the ambience is festive! my friends and I got the beef chimichanga (2100yen) and enchilada. We all liked it! the servings are large and good for sharing, or for a very hungry person. the strawberry margarita is better than the regular one haha I'll come back when I have a craving for tex Mex 👍🏼

Tokyo is known to be lacking in Mexican food, but Junkadelic was just about the best I’ve had in Tokyo. The restaurant's concept is based on experiences the owner had in San Diego, and Junkadelic’s food and decor aims to mimic that vibe in Tokyo. It’s not one of those hyper-localized international places - it does make you feel like you’ve transported someplace else for a bit. A great place when you need a break from Japanese food and are craving some Tex-Mex.
Barrett I — Google review
have been a few times to this place, since it’s almost aways very packed ***** I recommend doing reservations in advance!***** Very cute restaurant in nakameguro with a colorful interior and Tex-mex style food. Not only the food is great but the portions are VERY BIG I.e.: the chimi changas we split into two+three people with an appetizer, nachos and carne asada fries can also be split very decently into three people. PORTIONS ARE HEFTY ! * They do have a Vegan/Vegetarian specials menu that you have to ask for! I recommend dishes with the spicy tofu (that isn’t that much spicy at all but it’s delish) * You have to order one drink per person but the drinks are not very expensive ranging from 550¥~900¥. I wouldn’t recommend the “classic” drinks such as Bloody Mary, gin&tonic etc they were not very good, but the frozen margaritas and tequila based drinks were made very well.

Morethan Bakery is a cozy bakery and cafe located in the heart of Shinjuku, offering a modern and inviting atmosphere. The sleek wooden decor provides a calming contrast to the bustling streets outside. Their menu features an array of breads, pastries, and sandwiches, including classic options like ham and cheese as well as creative offerings such as the melty grilled cheese with five types of cheese.
Echoing a lot of the reviews already on here, it was really nice having a bakery like this on the ground floor of the Knot as the only other option for quick eats nearby in the mornings is a Family Mart. Staff here are very nice. The pastries they make with sausage are absolutely delicious. Definitely preferred the puff pastry over the sausage roll, but both were very good. And the croissant with pistachio and jam was delicious. Items are pretty reasonably priced too considering it's in a hotel. There's a lounge on the second floor of the hotel up the stairs where you can eat if the tables on the first floor are filled.
Brandon C — Google review
After our first night in Shinjuku, we decided to grab some breakfast snacks from the hotel. It was really busy, with a long line of guests. We picked a few things to try. A muffin, a quiche and more… But we were pretty disappointed. It tasted old and not fresh like we expected in the morning. For the price, it really wasn’t worth it.
Melissa R — Google review
The good: Oh my… this bakery was the unexpected highlight of o ur mornings in Tokyo. Tucked inside The Knot Hotel, More Than Bakery became our daily ritual. Each morning, my son and I would split the grilled cheese toastie (still dreaming about it), grab a banana (yes, they sell bananas!), and top it off with either a chocolate croissant or a sugar donut. Sweet, savoury, balanced … and absolutely delicious. The standout: That grilled cheese toastie deserves its own fan club. And the scent of fresh-baked goods wafting through the hotel each morning? Irresistible. Room for improvement: There’s no dedicated seating, so we made use of the hotel lobby to enjoy our breakfast. Be prepared for a little queue – it’s that popular. Would I return? Without question. This became our breakfast staple for the entire ten-day stay. Worth it every time. The verdict: 5 out of 5 stars – a small bakery that makes a big impression. A must-visit even if you’re not staying at The Knot.

Ramen Haruki is a hidden gem nestled in the vibrant Shinjuku district, a haven for ramen enthusiasts. This charming spot quickly became my favorite during my Tokyo adventure. With its friendly English-speaking staff and efficient service, I felt right at home. The standout dish was their tsukemen—dipping noodles bursting with flavor! I initially ordered the large size, which was massive, but found the small portion to be just perfect on my second visit.
Pretty solid ramen. Noodles are thick but the broth and pork are very tasty. Gyoza was also perfectly cooked. Service is quick and staff is very accommodating.

Good ramen with strong flavor, the pork broth is quite strong / fat while the pork & shrimp broth tastes primarily of shrimp but both were good. Gyoza are worth it, cheap and good Yuzu Sour as well.

This place is located down the street from our accommodations. It was good and hit the spot! I enjoyed my tonkotsu / soy ramen, and my hubby liked his spicy miso (Japanese Ramen) but he liked mine more. The noodles are thicker and firm, and the broth flavorful.

Affordable and tasty shrimp and pork bone ramen quickly served by delightful servers. Full condiments available on each table. Chinese noodle house instead of Japanese ramen bar vibe. The menu features seasonal dishes like smoky barbecued wagyu, ayu with green salsa, and charred eggplant with goat cheese fillings.
I was so amazed by how delicious the tacos were! First of all the tacos are all freshly made on order- this makes so much difference. Then the toppings… wow. Most of them are heavily Japanese influenced, but the combination of Japanese and Mexican tacos went so well together. Simple ingredients, no unnecessary stuff, but you realize how well executed it is once you bite in the tacos. Don’t come here if you only want to eat traditional Mexican tacos, be open minded and you will love this!

Stopped in for a quick lunch on a weekday. It was busy but I was setted quickly. The staff are friendly and attentive. The menu has English descriptions. I ordered the regular carnitas, special carnitas, tamale, and passion fruit agua fresca. The agua fresca was lightly flavored water. Both carnitas were delicious. The regular was soft and flavorful. The special was fried. It was crunch and tender and very well seasoned. The tamale was chicken and while the chicken wasn't very flavorful, the masa was soft and tasty. The salsas were nice. I paid with a card. I may return.
Jesus E — Google review
People say this place has the best tacos in Tokyo. The shop is right near my university and opens early for "morning tacos," so one day, after going to the gym, I decided to splurge on the Morning taco omakase. Inside, there's a clean modern feel, with vibrant energy and cool contemporary Mexican popular music playing. The walls are painted to match the homemade blue corn tortillas, which they cook to order on the griddle that sits right in front of the counter. After I ordered, they brought me a small bowl of tomato salsa and another of tomatillo salsa verde. Both were flavorful, well salted, with light heat. The first taco they brought might've been the best. Simple and elegant: eggplant salsa, avocado, goat cheese--sprinkled with fresh cilantro leaves. The eggplant salsa had a great silky texture, well-complimented by the creamy goat cheese. In this context, the avocado came across fruity and firm. I was impressed that a small taco could make me reevaluate my impression of avocados. The blue corn tortilla was delicate and tender, just a touch of masa grit. The next one was a white corn tortilla with wilted okahijiki (land seaweed) and smooth refried black beans. The greens were fibrous and nutty, the beans smooth and creamy. The white tortilla had more of a doughy texture than the blue corn did. I had one bite plain, one with red salsa, one with salsa Verde. All were good. Again, very simple, but deeply satisfying. Taco three had nopal cactus, simmered pork cracklins, refried beans and cilantro on blue corn. The chewiness of the simmered cracklin' was a great juxtaposition with with tortilla's mealiness and the beans' smoothness. The fruity acidic spicy nopal and fresh cilantro were a bold contrasting texture and flavor. Taco four was green pepper and chicken gizzard on white corn. This one also had the bean spread and fresh cilantro. Plus, a sprinkling of sesame seeds. The chicken gizzard texture is not my favorite, but I enjoyed it here with the rich sauce. I added a bit too much salsa and made it too spicy. The final piece was fried pork belly, with a cracklin' on top. What's not to like? Succulent pork belly, crispy pork skin, fresh taco. It was great. I guess a creative sauce would've been fun, but it was still delicious. I tried it with both salsas and thoroughly enjoyed every bite. I decided to order one more thing after the omakase: the simple quesadilla with Hokkaido cheese. The woman at the griddle flipped it a few times and letting the tortilla fry in the cheesy grease. The Hokkaido cheese was a great compliment to these fresh tortillas. It has that distinct Hokkaido creaminess and it's very elastic and buttery. These are bougie tacos. But they're done well, with a very Japanese character: minimal ingredients, robust flavor, bold texture. I thoroughly enjoyed it, but it was expensive (but not more so than other upscale taco joints in Tokyo). I don't know if I'll go back, but I have nothing negative to say about it.

Really relaxed taco place with super creative food. Simple and easy but the different combinations were great. Especially the different kinds of mole and the seasonal tacos were super tasty. Recommend for lunch and brunch!
Svendjar A — Google review
Never underestimate the food in Tokyo. I can't imagine that I can find very good and authentic tacos in this neighborhood. The masa (Mexican corn dough) is just great, strong maize aroma. The fillings in the menu are all simple but solid combinations, like the chillis with brown mole, carnitas, and chicken with green mole. They even brings up some local ingredient combo like whitebait (しらす) omelete which is very good filling in taco. Remind you that this is a breakfast taco shop, and you need to prepare for queue even on workdays mornings. Many tourists flocks here from time to time. Recommend for tacos lovers if you visit Tokyo and thirst for tacos.
Yue W — Google review
A restaurant where you can eat authentic tacos from 9am. There are many unique tacos that incorporate Japanese ingredients. Anyway, everything was delicious.
A.C.B.T — Google review
$75 for tacos so bad I started questioning my life choices. Taco Bell isn’t just better—it’s basically a Michelin-starred pilgrimage compared to this disaster. It’s like the chef Googled “what is taco???” five minutes before service and just gave up halfway. I’m from Los Angeles—I grew up on tacos—and three months into living in Tokyo, this was the culinary low point. Example: the “avocado taco.” Sounds nice, right? Wrong. It was one sad slice of avocado lying naked on a tortilla, like it had given up on itself. No lime, no salsa, no spice. Just sadness wrapped in carbs. The whole place felt like a parody restaurant from a comedy sketch. Except it wasn’t funny—it was $75. Tokyo has thousands of incredible spots to eat. Do yourself a favor: go literally anywhere else. A vending machine sandwich would be an upgrade.

Interesting Mexican restaurant focusing on Avocado. It’s a small restaurant at the second floor of busy street of Shinjuku. My favorite was the avocado pizza which is full of avocado slices on top. It’s crust is crispy but the avocado is moist. Their tacos were not bad but regular. It was a bit pricy but I can recommend going.

Had my late lunch here today. Most diners are young people.Their taco rice set tastes more Mexican than Okinawan perhaps because of the cheesy sauce on top and the guacamole. The veggies look and taste fresh as well. It's a light and hearty meal. Service takes no time and the price is reasonable.

Went out here last night with some friends. Avocado is located on the different floors. Got a few drinks and food to share as a group. Pretty "decent" Mexican food( I say this because it is tailored to Japanese taste while trying to keep the Mexican flavor there.) Food was good. It is very flavorful. Menu is also in English.

You can see the menu by reading the QR code but I couldn't really access it with my phone so I wish there was a paper menu, because I had to look at the menu at the counter that was the only available paper menu and I had to rush my decision.

I tried the tacos (carnitas and al pastor), taste was just ok, carnitas was dry and for some reason a strong citrus flavor assuming from the marinade, the salsa was not bad though. Overpriced, it was almost $20 USD for 4 tacos. You have to order inside the bar, and eat outside on the patio or inside the bar next, and I get the feeling you need to get a drink. So in total with 4 tacos and a beer it was $30 USD. It was ok, not good, and overpriced. I don't think I would come back.

First dinner back in Tokyo was La Cabina tacos. OMG, I definitely understand how this small operation in Tokyo made it to the Taco Chronicles. We ordered lemon chicken because they were out of other options & it was actually one of our favorites. But, they were all my favorite. Even the chips & guacamole were good. Still don’t understand what the heck is so wrong with Germany that they can’t figure this out. We’re very taco deprived Americans who live in Stuttgart, a taco desert. The craft beer from Oslo Brewing wasn’t too bad, either. Though, the fancy date night styling of the place with the jazz music made for a confusing ambiance.

Cute taco truck but sadly disappointing food. The beer bar and outside vibes are why people come here. The blue corn tortillas just aren't very good. They should grill them but instead they're just served room temperature. Gritty, not very tasty. Fish taco inside is fried fish but not very crispy. Fish tacos should be either grilled or crispy fried. The al pastor tacos had an overwhelming amount of spices and pineapple was there, but could barely taste it. Overall, don't recommend the tacos, but it's a nice vibe with the beer bar and outside seats.
Michael G — Google review
Authentic tasting tacos and craft beer. I was blown away by the carnitas and fish tacos. Tasted legit and price point was good. Order tacos at the counter inside rather than the truck outside (you’ll pick up your food there). Beer selection is extensive and atmosphere is relaxing. Outside and inside seating available. Out of all the tacos I’ve tried in Tokyo these are by far the most delicious and the size isn’t too small either.
Michele T — Google review
The tacos we had were absolutely delicious. We are always looking for good Mexican food, especially in the summer. The hot sauce is actually spicy, too! The taco of the day was my favorite: some sort of citrus chicken.
Mary — Google review
Great service, great tacos, and great beer. The Carnitas tacos were delicious. If you like Spicy, then definitely add the spicy salsa on your tacos. Medium and mild taste good, but they aren’t spicy. 10/10 recommend.
Melissa W — Google review
Absolutely tasty tacos! Tried the Al pastor, Chorizo and Fish Baja style. All three of them were perfectly seasoned and spicy to my liking. Their sauces were also on point. Tried few other Mexican places around Tokyo but these tacos are by far the best I’ve had. They also run Scandinavian style brewery serving craft beers. Tried their dark beer and was great as well but a bit on the pricy side. Would visit once again!

Delivery Restaurant
Isomaru Suisan is a small live seafood restaurant chain that offers an interesting and surprising dining experience. Despite its unassuming appearance, the restaurant serves all fresh seafood, with delicious dishes like crab fried rice. It's a perfect spot for a quick and affordable fix of fresh seafood, open 24 hours for those craving grilled delights. While it may not be the fanciest option in town, the quality across its Tokyo locations remains consistent.
Great choice of fresh seafood and fish to grill at the table and many other cooked fish, seafood, and meat. Cozy atmosphere, super kind and welcoming owner who gave suggestions on grilling time and procedure.

Unfortunately ran out of our favourite salt baked tuna head. Hence opted for the delicious sushi, baked whole fish and oysters. One of the most reasonable izakaya chains.

Small live seafood restaurant. Interesting experience I had in here. I didn’t expect much at first when I entered this small restaurant. Bu end up I ordered too much as I saw what another table had and I was so curious how they would serve us. They really served us all fresh ones, and I was surprised honestly. All food I ordered was so delicious, and I was fond of their crab fried rice too! I felt guilty and bad on seeing the live abalone one though but it was such a great experience

Absolutely fantastic! Enjoyed loads of different dishes and drinks! Friendly fast service. Highly recommended!

This chain is the perfect spot (24hrs) for a cheap, quick, and if you have time the grilling, fun fix for fresh seafood. It is nothing extraordinary, nothing fancy, simple food made fresh. It is not always the hottest spot in town because there are so many choices in the area, but I have always found myself coming here for a late night fix. I have been to most of its spots in Tokyo, the quality is pretty consistent. They got rid of the tablets, all QR online ordering now which is much eaiser for any foreigners. It generates a bar code at the end, scan it at the register, pay and done. I strongly recomm be this place especially for late night seafood cravings.

Tacofanatico offers a fusion twist on traditional tacos, featuring unique flavors like spicy lamb and shrimp tempura. The menu surprises with fresh and flavorful combinations that satisfy any taco craving. The margaritas are strong and delicious, adding to the overall experience. While the serving sizes may be small, the carnitas is highly recommended. The friendly service and cool atmosphere make for an enjoyable visit. Despite slightly higher prices, the delicious food and well-mixed drinks make it worth returning for more.
Tacofanatico is a small but vibrant Mexican spot tucked in the busy lanes near Shibuya Square. It’s colourful, lively, and has a fun, casual vibe. We tried a few dishes and everything was enjoyable. The Jalapeño Poppers were amazing — crispy on the outside, creamy and spicy inside. Easily the best dish of the lunch. We also had French Fries, Cheese Chicken Tacos, and Garlic Shrimps. All three were good. The shrimp was well cooked with a nice garlic flavour. Service was quick and the staff were friendly. It’s a great place to grab a relaxed and tasty meal in the heart of Shibuya.

The gluten-free tacos here were insanely good, I had 8 of them and honestly could’ve kept going! The staff were super helpful and knew exactly what was gluten-free, which made me feel safe and taken care of. The atmosphere was spot-on with a great Mexican vibe, and the music? Absolute fire 🔥 Highly recommend this place, especially if you're gluten-free and love tacos! 🌮 🤤🤤🤤

I had an amazing time at Taco Fanatico in Shibuya Center. The atmosphere is super lively with great Mexican music, and it’s an all-counter restaurant. When you sit down, the staff kindly lets you know it’s cashless, which is very smooth. I started with a Strawberry Margarita and Shrimp Margarita Tacos – both absolutely delicious! I couldn’t resist ordering a Beef Burrito afterward, and it was simply perfect. For dessert, I tried the Chocolate Terrine with Coconut Ice Cream .it was insanely good. If you go there, absolutely order it! All the staff speak English, which makes everything easy and welcoming. Special thanks to Touji and Rin for the wonderful service!

Second visit to this great little Mexican restaurant (first came almost 2 years ago) and so happy to see still running and still serving really good food. 2 years of remembering how good the ceviche was with avocado, yuzu and habanero chili and if possible better than I remembered. We had a mix of tacos between us and we were all very happy with our selections. Can also recommend the nachos. Great flavours.

I appreciate that they have vegan options. I’m not usually sensitive to salt, but I’ve been here a few times and every time the tacos were almost too salty. The staff is nice and it’s in the heart of Shibuya which makes it convenient. They don’t accept cash.

This was one of my favorites in all of Tokyo actually. It is a tiny little place in the heart of Shibuya. It was a nice retreat from the craziness that is everywhere surrounding it. I had such a chill vibe and a great atmosphere. The two women that were working were awesome. They were running everything by themselves. One was doing all of the cooking, while the other was training in a new guy and doing everything else. I had one of the best spicy Bloody Mary’s ever. I tasted my boyfriend’s spicy margarita, it was also fantastic. The jalapeño poppers were delicious and perfectly balanced with flavor and texture. The tacos were also very tasty.

Takeout Restaurant
Ushigoro is a sophisticated and well-lit restaurant located in Nishi-Azabu, offering a touch of luxury suitable for special occasions. The menu features multi-dish courses and a la carte options, with the 6,100 tabegoro course being highly recommended. This course includes approximately nine small platters of various cuts of beef, such as thinly sliced beef tongue and thick-cut skirt steak.
The location is very closed to the train station, easy to find. The service was great! The servers were able to communicate in basic English. I was able to talk in simple Japanese so everything went well. We picked two lunch course and they were both wonderful. No kids menu available so I ordered the curry (beef) for my kid and the kid loved it. The quality of meat was great too! The server also informed us that which meat went well with the salt and which paired with the sauce. The server also asked us if we need refill on soup or rice which were both free. We did not get any because the portion was enough for us. It was a nice dining experience for us. Definitely will go back again!

Overrated restaurant. 1) food portion - it’s on the small size 2) the seasoning is a bit too salty and few of the dishes are Korean inspired. For people who doesn’t like spicy…they won’t like it 3) food looks better than it actually tastes lol 5/10
Gladys H — Google review
My second times visit and still one of my favorites high-rank beef BBQ in Tokyo. The quality of food and service are top of class. All staffs are extremely polite and willing to help, they more or less can speak some English so communication is not an issue. I order an set and extra pieces of the beef sandwich, it is super tender and tasty when mixed with the curry sauce provided. I order it every single time. The set itself can feed a person already, as you are free to choose a dish from either rice or noodle. But still, you can take it, pleade do try the sandwich, it is really good.
Samantha C — Google review
*Not recommended for solo diners if you're considering the set dinner.* I reserved the ¥12,400 set dinner, excited to try the Matsutake and Mushroom Beef Rice in Roasted Stone —one of the dishes I was most looking forward to. However, once service began, I was informed that this dish is only available for parties of two or more. As a solo diner, I was told I’d need to pay an additional ¥10,000 to have it included. I’m still unsure if the waiter misspoke and meant ¥1,000, but he clearly said ¥10,000, which was shocking considering the entire meal set costs ¥12,400. I asked if a half portion could be offered, but they declined. Instead, they let me choose a rice or noodle dish from the regular menu as compensation. I opted for the Thick-Smooth Ox Bone Stock Noodle Soup, but was disappointed again—the soup base was identical to the day’s soup already included in the set, meaning I essentially had the same soup twice. The waiter didn’t mention this overlap. The noodle portion was small, and without the rice dish, I left feeling hungry and dissatisfied. I strongly recommend the restaurant clearly indicate on the menu that the Matsutake and Mushroom Beef Rice in Roasted Stone is only available for two or more guests. As it stands, this feels like a trap for solo diners who expect the full set experience. This was my third visit to the restaurant, but the first time dining alone. Since I’ve had the beef rice before, I’m familiar with its portion size. I truly enjoyed my previous two experiences, but this time was a letdown. The overall experience left me disappointed, and I’m not sure I’ll be returning again.

I had an outstanding dining experience at this beef-centric restaurant, which offers a comprehensive set menu that showcases everything from beef tartare to various cuts of beef. The attentive staff takes care of the grilling, ensuring each piece is cooked to perfection, which meant I could relax and enjoy the meal without any stress. The quality of the beef was simply exceptional, and the restaurant's location on the 12th floor provided a stunning backdrop, enhancing the ambiance with its scenic views. The staff were not only friendly but also incredibly professional, adding to the overall excellent service. For the finale, I chose the beef curry over rice or noodles, and it was a decision I didn't regret. It was so flavorful that I devoured it all, despite being nearly in a food coma from the rest of the meal. I'm already planning my next visit and will definitely try to get a window seat to enjoy the nighttime skyline of Tokyo. A truly memorable experience!

We took the seasonal menu ¥15,000, wasnt a filling meal. Presentation of the beef was nice, the staff cooked it in front of us. However he overcooked at least 2 kinds of beef, such a waste. The sauces and salads were great & tasty, could have been better if slightly more food provided & better cooking technique.

Haruki is a delightful ramen spot that truly stands out in the bustling culinary scene. With flavors reminiscent of home-cooked meals, it offers a taste that many have found to be superior to other ramen experiences in Tokyo. The service is warm and welcoming, with staff who are eager to assist, even accommodating those who speak different languages.
What a gem! Found this near our hotel and it was so tasty and reasonably priced. Staff/owner (not sure) were all so lovely! Order thru machine. Credit card didn't work for me though and there was no English except for the words to find in or take out.
Zoe L — Google review
There are a lot of really good choices to get your ramen fill around shin Otsuka. This is not one of them. I ordered the spicy tsukemen special, gyoza and a beer. The tsukemen gravy... source... (what should I call it?) is quite sickly and sweet without much depth of flavour. The noodles on the other hand are good with a nice bounce. The gyoza however are some of the worst I've had in Tokyo, and that's including the ones that I've made by myself. The staff are nice enough but they are obviously just working part time and aren't as invested as some of the people working in their own businesses in Ramen restaurants close by. Having said that, they have some pretty good beer set choices so if you just want a quick beer and snack, it might not be a bad shout.
Joe B — Google review
Nice ramen, it was very tasty. Ate here for 3 days (not 3 days straight, but yeah.) Better than any other ramen I've had in Tokyo, and it tastes like my mom's signature noodles too ^v^ Nice service, and nice staff! My mum could speak Mandarin so she understood what the staff was saying, and I don't speak Mandarin, but I could tell the staff were very nice from first impressions! Definitely a 10/10, would come back here again, and I would eat out here always if this restaurant chain was present in Indonesia! I ordered the Wantan ramen if I am not wrong, and it was soooooo delicious! And like.. Everything is so cheap and tasty, the broth quality was astonishing! And if you come here by bicycle, walking, or motorcycle, it's pretty accessible, but if you come by car, please park somewhere else because this is a small restaurant and there might be no space for parking at all. Best service in a restaurant :3 Extra Detail: This restaurant even has better service than most restaurants I've been in, even 5-star luxury ones, like, literally. It's so cozy, but the doors aren't automatic, so please remember to close them after! :3 -from (girl who doesn't speak a bit of Mandarin at all) ^O^

Baja is a charming Mexican-themed bar located just a short stroll from Nakameguro station in Tokyo. This cozy spot offers affordable drinks and Mexican cuisine, with generously sized burritos priced between 500 and 800 yen, and all drinks available for just 500 yen. The standout menu items include the flavorful pork and guacamole burritos, along with popular options like chicken burritos and various tacos.
Small and cozy taco place. Food is prepared quick and has a great taste. Be sure to add the jalapeño hot sauce. Cool take on Baja tacos. Enjoyed very much, highly recommend to order at least 3 tacos as they are small but fairly priced :) 5/5 😁🙏🏼

I love the vibes, love the community that seems to gather at this place.. but I’d have to agree with what another reviewer wrote. It doesn’t taste 100% authentic Mexican. The flavors are a little mild and toned down. It doesn’t have the flavor and zest that tacos should have. Wish I could like this place more, such a cool looking spot!
Paul Y — Google review
The owner is really nice and works hard doing everything on his own, so it pains me to say that the food just honestly isn’t all that great. For me, the best item was the Baja fish taco, but honestly the flavors just aren’t there. Perhaps it’s because Japanese palates tend to lean on the subtler side, but when it comes to Mexican food people are looking for some real flavor punches and kicks, and this is barely a slapfight. I don’t recommend dining in unless you actually like being in a super cramped space that can barely house six people.
Korius — Google review
Located less than 10 minutes on foot from Nakameguro Station, this bar is colorful and has character. With its ultra tiny tables and cramped space, it is not for the claustrophobic. I had the nachos and a shot of tequila before the 6 other customers there made it too crowded for me. I don’t think I will go back.

OXOMOCO is a modern Mexican restaurant located in the Hiroos Eat Play Works complex, marking its first international outpost from Brooklyn. The open kitchen concept allows guests to witness the preparation of Michelin-quality bites, including signature dishes like the beet chorizo taco with crispy potato and avocado. Despite its slightly smaller menu compared to its New York counterpart, every dish is described as delicious and worth trying. The place has a modern style food hall ambiance with limited seating but offers an incredible dining experience.
Great small table restaurant in a mix of small shops sharing spaces. The food was fresh and delicious, but what tied the dishes together were the fantastic sauces. All home made and made daily, a true highlight. The drink menu was pretty good and the flavor of the margaritas had me flashing back to Mexico. Pro tip, try the fish tacos, you won't be disappointed. Would absolutely return multiple times.

It’s a small stand in a nice food court in Hiro, the idea is cool. I tried just one Vegan option , they don’t actually have vegan options labeled in the menu, so you have to ask for, they have vegetarian options labeled tho. The one I hot was not too hood, just a tortilla filling with steamed potato, and not well seasoned. Can’t say for the other options. The Piñacolada was delicious tho. The portions are small and pricey. The staff was not too nice too😅

Had a delicious guacamole, tacos and burrito. Love the well-thought flavor combinations and the execution was high standard. Some reviews mention about the high price which is understandable but using high quality ingredients and operating at one of the most expensive rent in Tokyo, it is understandable and from a professional point of view, they are not trying to rip you off for sure.

The place is great. First though, you have to find it, it’s more less a counter with few table in a modern style “food hall”. Everything we tried was delicious. So much that we didn’t want to stop eating, despite not being so hungry, but had to stop, because the place closes their lunch service by 2.30, last order for new costumers is 1.30, we were allowed to order around 1.45 but one last dish. Would have spent more money if not for that, because every dish was delicious. The lamb Tacos were the best. I’ll be back for sure, will try to come earlier to enjoy more food. We paid around 14.000¥ but it was included a bottle of wine. So 7000¥ for food

This place was awesome to grab a drink and have tacos on the sides. I went there with my friend and we tried all the tacos. I loved all of it. Only thing is, this place is in the building with bunch of little restaurants, so it’s a little bit hard to find. Tho it’s very close to the station and perfect place to stop by. Everyone here speaks English and makes it easier to communicate for non Japanese speakers too.

I had an incredible dining experience at Oxomoco! The next level tuna tostadas were a standout dish, bursting with fresh flavors and perfectly balanced seasoning. The crab tostada was also excellent, with tender and juicy crab meat atop a crispy tortilla. And let's talk about the braised lamb taco - wow! The meat was incredibly tender and packed with savory, complex flavors. But what really made the experience special was the amazing service, especially from Chef Edo. He was so friendly and welcoming, taking the time to chat with us and make sure we had everything we needed. The ambiance was lively and fun, making for a truly memorable meal. I can't wait to come back and try more dishes!

Read most of the reviews before I got to this place and found that most recommend having the burrito and tacos here. So I had to make sure to try all the recommended and MORE. We got the lamb burrito, grilled fish tacos, guac as a starter, ceviche as an appetizer because 1 is never enough! We even got the frozen margarita as well. Overall, I would say the shrimp ceviche is THE BEST OF THEM all. Very refreshing and the shrimp was just cooked enough to be tender yet bouncy. Super delicious with all the sauces included. The burrito was good as well. The red rice in the burrito wrap was very flavorful and some people were saying that the size is a little small but for me it was alright. It looked small for sure (see picture to get an idea - it is smaller than my hands) but it’s packed with rice and protein in it so I wouldn’t underestimate it. I wasn’t too happy about the fish tacos because it broke apart too easily even though the fish was good. I had to re-assemble the taco by scooping each ingredient and putting it into my mouth to consume it together. Overall I would definitely come back again and with more friends to try out other things in the menu and I might even come for dinner instead. The place is situated in a community area that has other food stalls. Looks like an ideal place for happy hour!

An excellent Mexican food experience in the heart of Tokyo. Located within walking distance from Hiro-o Station, the restaurant has a very chill and nice ambience similar to the Sydney vibes. My wife and I ordered Mezcal Margherita each along with Guacamole, Tuna Tostadas, Fish and Lamb Tacos and ending the night with Mushrooms Quesadillas. The Guacamole and Tuna Tosatadas were absolutely fantastic and I daresay the Guacamole is the best I have eaten outside of Mexico. The downsides were the Fish Tacos could be better and the Quesadillas as well but overall still fantastic as they use blue corn for the tortillas. Highly recommend Oxomoco to anyone looking for a great place to eat and chill.

Kiyas is a hidden gem in Ebisu that offers a unique dining experience with its multi-course dinner menu featuring palm-sized tacos. The restaurant provides a cross-cultural twist on modern Mexican cuisine, offering non-traditional combinations like the foie gras taco with apple compote. Despite the smaller portion sizes, the decadent flavors and optional wine pairing make for an indulgent Mexican culinary adventure.
Small but delightful restaurant where you are served directly by the 2 chefs. The food is a fusion of Japanese and Mexican cuisine. Some of the items are really unique and taste amazing. Highlights were the melted cheese over sweet potato tacos made with blue corn tortillas - these were a hit with the whole family. The chicken on a cornbread wedge was also incredible. Dishes pictured are a beef empanada with a beet garnish, the molten cheese tacos, the chicken on cornbread, and the bonito sashimi on a crisp with guacamole (also served with a chicken soup).

Many years eating Mexican cuisine in California, Southwest & Mexico this is by far the most delicious experience though it is high-end fusion Mexican/Latin fare and I will always love my staple street foods like La Superica Taqueria in Santa Barbara CA. Innovative flavors and textures like the ‘shime’ dish in stone bowl reminiscent of bibimbap x tortilla soup x sopa de fideo with tarako as Japanese twist - memorable! Our tasting menu was both visually beautiful and delicious with complex and subtle flavors. Carnitas were spectacular. Loved all the tortillas. Our party of three shared a natural Italian orange wine and then had a glass of Pinot Noir or Syrah with the steak dish. No favorite dish as all were special, no disappointments. The charming kind and knowledgeable female chef was also our server solo in the restaurant on a Monday night. Clearly passionate about the ingredients and execution of each dish. Meal was well paced as perhaps only 1-2 more tables were occupied. It’s a very special restaurant!

All of their tortillas, tostadas, and sopes are home-made, and every piece of meat is stewed or grilled to be so tender. They source many of their ingredients directly from various locations in Mexico and Latin America. The ambience in this family-owned restaurant is so cozy and perfect for any special event! With an open kitchen, I love watching the chef and his wife at work.

This place is perfection. The food is great; definitely amazing and the atmosphere was lively too. The owners are lovely, lovely people -- the male owner is very good at English since he spent his high school days in SoCal and his wife is pretty good too! I'll definitely be coming back. I forgot to ask how often their menu changes, but in any case their current tasting course was great! As far as price, it's expected value! I paid more due to indulging in their pairing course and post-course nightcaps, as well as buying a few drinks for the owners.

Well worth going out of your way to go here. Japanese ingredients prepared in the style of Mexican cooking, the food, service and setting were all tremendous. The tasting menu is delicious, the tortillas are formed and cooked to order, and the use of wagyu is generous. Wine tasting is extremely successful. Please go and enjoy!

If I say this was the best mole I've ever had in my life, you might anticipate what is to come next. Yes, the dinner was fantastic, the presentation was beautiful, and the space was...nice. I have to give credit to the chef who was solo the night we came, but she did an amazing job preparing all the food and caring for all the tables...by herself! As a result, the space felt a little hectic as there were things outside by the door and the interior felt a bit messy, but I assume it was because she was solo. All in all, it's worth a visit. The only thing I would have liked was if the main dish at the end had more than two tortillas. I didn't want to ask because she seemed so busy, but four would have been more appropriate for that course.

Taco restaurant
TACOS Shop IKEJIRI has made its mark in Tokyo with a vibrant new location just a stone's throw from Ikejiri-Ohashi Station. This lively eatery serves up mouthwatering Mexican tacos starting in the late afternoon and continuing until the early hours of the morning. Diners can indulge in traditional fillings like carnitas, suadero beef, and shrimp, or explore inventive flavor pairings such as ricotta cheese with passion fruit.
Great authentic tacos. Got the lunch set 1000¥ for 3 tacos. They had a pretty impressive selection of fillings, and I really liked the “toppings tray” they give you. Its kinda of a bar so there was only standing tables. The lady running the shop was super friendly as well. Only complaint is id need like 9-12 tacos for a decent meal, which is a bit expensive

Really nice and cozy Tacos spot in Ikejiri. Vast selection of tacos toppings with also interesting vegan and vegetarian options. Also amazing variety of tequila and mezcal to go along side with your tacos.

nice reprieve after a busy day out in Tokyo. was craving mexican food and these tacos were it. the salsas are a special highlight - I typically only do verde - but I tried the verde, rojo and mango habanero and was blown away by all of them. really vibey spot

In general I think it was a good place. The flavour of all the tacos was really nice, the lamb one I think it was my favourite. However, I had a lot of problems with the tortilla, they broke very easy and make a little difficult to eat them. I also tried an "artesanal beer" but it was expensive and tasted like burned, I really regret of asking that drink. All the salsas are really good, and they are placed just in your table so you can try them as much as you prefer. I would recommend to go early and with some time because tacos were served quite slow (the place is not so big but it was full, maybe that was the cause) and we wanted to tried the guacamole and the tongue beef taco but both of them were already sold out, and it was not that late, just around 7 pm.

Good, authentic tasting tacos, but definitely more of a small bar/cafe that happens to have tacos, rather than a Mexican restaurant. Seating upstairs is kinda just a small communal bench with one table in the middle that has sauces and toppings etc for everyone to share. Would be a lot better if they had a couple of 4-seater tables or something, but the space is very small. There's also counter seating along the bar downstairs. Would go back for the food but as there are other more comfortable options in the Sancha area (Tacos Mi Casa, Tacoyote) I may not end up back here. I do recommend the tacos though!

It is new as a restaurant on the main street with a style of grilling and eating tacos right in front of you. Close to Sangenjaya.

Find a fun place to have later drinks and food and not Japanese noodles

It’s better to call it Tacos “bar” rather than “restaurant “. The taste is just soso and really expensive. Definitely not recommend for people don’t drink. Never gonna be there again.
