Nestled in the charming coastal town of Cascais, 5 Sentidos Cascais - Areia is a delightful dining destination that promises an unforgettable culinary journey. This inviting eatery combines traditional Portuguese cuisine with modern flair, all while offering breathtaking ocean views. The ambiance strikes a perfect balance between cozy and elegant, making it ideal for both intimate dinners and lively gatherings. The menu features a variety of dishes that showcase fresh ingredients and innovative flavors.
I’ve been wanting to go here for soo long and every time I’ve tried drop-in, they’re more or less laughing at me. It’s always PACKED! And it’s understandable, because this place is AMAZING!! Fantastic service, very happy, friendly and alert. The food is incredible! Flavors that I didn’t know would go well with each other, truly melts in your mouth. Very cool arts on the walls that fit in this fresh and modern atmosphere. I’m definitely going back!

Such a beautiful spot. In a quiet area outside Cascais. A calm and warm atmosphere. Our server was really friendly and the food was the best we’ve had in Portugal so far. Highly recommend. We had the salmon carpaccio and octopus salad to start, the Breem for main and orange, pistachio tart and chocolate cake for dessert Delicious.
Eloïse C — Google review
What a gem! We had choosed this place for our 3rd year wedding anniversary. We were on a trip with my sister and brother in Portugal and Cascais was our last stop of a guided tour of our day-trip to Sintra and men did we choose perfectly! This place is far from the tourist places in Cascais, in fact you kind of wonder if your cab driver is lost when getting there! But the restaurant is beautiful, the service was very professionnal yet not snob and the food was delicious. Prices are really good giving the quality of food & service you get! It was one of the best restaurant we had during our trip and highly recommend if you are in the area.
François C — Google review
A warm atmosphere, incredible food and welcoming staff. The portion sizes are great and the food is tasty. Nice decor and the tables are well spaced out. We had clams as a starter and the tiger prawn paella as a main. One of the best meals I’ve had since arriving in Portugal, would return every time.
Vincent E — Google review
An absolute highlight of our trip - not just the best meal we had in Portugal, but one of the most memorable dining experiences ever! 5 Sentidos in the peaceful area of Areia feels like a hidden treasure. The Paella Negra was simply out of this world. What made the evening truly special was the staff - so charming, funny, and genuinely warm. They made us feel instantly welcome and cared for. If you’re near Cascais, this place is a must. Exceptional food, beautiful atmosphere, and staff who turn a dinner into a memory.
Leonore B — Google review
Very cozy ambience. Great food. Fresh seafood. The best one in Cascais. Excellent service and superb staff. Less wait time. We got our food right on time.
Ken I — Google review
It was my first time visiting Portugal, and this place is truly a hidden gem! Not many tourists, not noisy at all, and located in a quiet residential neighborhood with such a peaceful atmosphere. The vibe of the restaurant is amazing, and above all, the service from the owner was outstanding. The food was delicious and it became one of the best memories of my trip to Portugal. Muito obrigada!
Erika O — Google review
What an evening! We loved the food SO much. Best sea bass I've ever had. The waiter was super funny and kind. The service was quick and on point. We had blankets already on our seats for a chilly evening. All 3 courses were amazing. Will definitely come back. 6/5 stars ⭐😉

Jardim dos Frangos is a popular beer garden known for its inviting ambiance and authentic Portuguese piri piri BBQ chicken. Nestled in a charming setting, this delightful spot offers a relaxing atmosphere where visitors can savor the flavorful grilled chicken infused with iconic piri piri spices. The lush greenery and outdoor seating create the perfect backdrop for enjoying delicious food and refreshing drinks.
Great experience and food overall. Came here after recommendation from our Pena Palace tour guide Hugo. Definitely order the seafood rice! One of the tastiest ways to have rice and they provide a lot of seafood.

I’ve had plenty of grilled chicken in the past but none like this charcoal grilled chicken!!! Full of flavour and delicious ! Skin crispy and comes with a peri peri sauce which is very spicy !! Service nice and quick ! Although watch out - NO card payments accepted , ONLY CASH!!
John P — Google review
Decent restaurant in the centre of Cascais. The staff were professional without being overly friendly. The food however was fantastic. Very simple, well prepared and delicious. Also very reasonably priced. Worth a visit if you fancy an excellent chicken and chips while in Cascais.
Gerry C — Google review
Thought this establishment would be reasonably authentic given the crowds of tourists and locals alike. Ordered an assortment of things from the lasagna, salad, special pork, poached apple, and chicken. Where we went wrong — the special pork. I'm writing this after certainly getting food poisoning after our dinner there tonight. In hindsight, the funny flavour wasn't the seasoning, it was truly just the pork being served underdone and not fresh. My stomach is not very sensitive at all, so I was shocked that I felt instantly nauseous during my meal and could not rest for many hours after. Just okay value and presentation.
Lindsay L — Google review
The worst meal I had in Portugal after 2 weeks here. The place was extremely unpleasant and we were harassed by 5-8 flies all at once throughout our meal. We had to constantly keep swatting the flies away as we ate. It was such a turn off. I ordered the Bacalhau a bras and the potato was not crispy, super oily and had very little cod fish. I had the same dish more than 8 times this trip and this is by far the worst. When we asked for a separate bill for the table, the staff was not happy about it. This meal was not cheap and was definitely pricier. I had the same dish for 12-15 euros elsewhere but this dish was for 17 so it better be good but it was not even close… very disappointing. I also lost my appetite after chasing the flies away and could only finish half. Their only saving grace is that the portions are big (but barely any meat). Our tour guide from get your guide recommended this restaurant and we saw him eating there so we thought it was good for the locals. But after trying this place out, there was nothing good about it and he must have gotten a free meal for recommending people here. Please don’t listen to your tour guides and just explore and find food on your own. Feeling so disappointed about this whole incident and wasted a meal here.
Denise T — Google review
I ate here for lunch when I first arrived in Cascais and I loved it! The half chicken and chips were fantastically priced, the service was fast and friendly and the chicken was incredibly flavourful. It was so great I came back the night before I left to get more chicken to takeaway. Thank you for such wonderful food, I would come back to Cascais just for this!
Louis C — Google review
The restaurant is busy. The waiters do not serve you automatically until you ask, e.g. getting a menu. We have to ask several times to get a menu and pay the bill. When you asked them, they usually didn't give you response. You have to wait at least 5 minues to get things done. The rudest and most unfriendly waiters we'd met in Portugal. In general, the Portuguese are nice and friendly. We ordered soups of the day, octopus salad, codfish "Bacalhau com Natas", spaghetti with shrimp, roasted chicken, which comes with fries. The roasted chicken tasted good, but the fries are not crispy and very oily. The shredded codfish tasted ok but with bones. Not suitable for children because they may not be able to find the bones. Overall it's pricey with this level of service and food quality.
Carmen C — Google review
No frills, simple authentic absolutely delicious food. For what it is, this is a 5 stars. The olives as appetizer were really good, the octopus also good but the chicken served with fries, although really simple, is legendary. I would eat here again and often if I had a chance! Note: Cash only here.

Italian restaurant
Capricciosa is a popular restaurant group with locations across Greater Lisbon, including a stunning spot in Cascais overlooking the beautiful Praia da Duquesa. The restaurant offers breathtaking views of the ocean from its two floors, featuring large windows and a lovely balcony. Known for its wood-fired pizzas and calzones, Capricciosa also serves delicious pasta dishes. With both indoor and outdoor seating, it's an ideal place to enjoy a casual lunch while taking in the epic views.
Great location with views of the beach. Also outside seating. The pizzas and pasta were delicious. The staff was amazing as well. Definitely worth stopping in for a drink and meal to get out of the heat and relax.
Christie M — Google review
Was lured by the railing of this place. The views are great but the food is very very average. Didn’t like anything from what we ordered. Was quite pissed off with the taste and quality of food. Look at these shrimps in the pasta, they are like unfrozen shrimps from a grocery shop… no extra cooking for them. Not to mention that the waiter mixed up the order. Will never go to this place again.
AK A — Google review
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Capricciosa is absolutely outstanding. The pizza was simply spectacular, with a perfect balance of flame-kicked crust and fresh toppings. The beef carpaccio and the garlic pizza were also excellent—delicate, flavorful, and clearly made with care. A special shout-out to Michael, who served us; his service went above and beyond and truly deserved more than 5 stars. The views over the sea and the marina in Cascais are breathtaking, making the overall dining experience even more memorable. Highly recommend!

Brilliantly executed. The food, to die for. The views, spectacular and the service, top tier. Couldn’t recommend this restaurant enough. Had the Veal Truffle Mushroom Tagliatelle and I licked the plate clean. Their tropical Sangria is deliciously refreshing and well balanced. Very impressed with this establishment.

Roxana attended to us and she was very lovely and patient. Food is 💯 I enjoyed the spaghetti bolognese and the view of the beach was epic. I highly recommend you visit when you’re in cascais portugal. I came here from Lisbon.

Roxana is AMAZING. The food was delicious. The customer service was great. I have a food allergy with garlic which is very difficult in an Italian restaurant and she was very understand. Gave us sightseeing ideas. Personable. Authentic. We loved her so much that we came back several times with our son. Views of the water are great too!!

Roxana was amazing! Her service and her personality were a 10/10. She was so attentive and provided us with everything we asked for. The view from this restaurant were incredible as well. We will be coming back next time we visit
Pierce R — Google review
Had such a great time here! The pizzas were super tasty and full of flavor, and the sangrias were just perfect (we kept ordering more). The view over the beach made it all even better, so beautiful. But the real stars were Rui and Michel they were so friendly, quick, and just genuinely awesome. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone!

A Pastorinha, a renowned restaurant located in Carcavelos, has a rich history dating back to the 18th century when Carcavelos wine production flourished under Sebastian Jose de Carvalho e Melo. This prestigious wine gained popularity among European elites and was exported to various markets worldwide. In 1908, the region of Carcavelos was officially demarcated for its wine production.
Amazing food. Freshly prepared right in front of the dining area. A vast selection of wine and other local spirits. A great ocean view. Friendly staff.
Asela P — Google review
It was our favourite place to eat since 2021 when we setup our new life in Portugal. Very nice place on seaside and no lunch break and good service. I usually had grilled octopus or monkfish rice (2 pers.) which was really nice and happy to eat delicious food. So I visited 2~3 times a year with my guest or friends to enjoy the favourite menu. Today I went to have a dinner with my friend so we were 4 adults and 2 kids. Two favourite menu are disappear from the menu and we do not know why? And this is the bill I paid today and I let other people to think and check if the price is reasonable.
Incognito — Google review
Great food Premium service, unfortunately not an every day restaurant for the average costumer because of the price, but recommendable for special occasions.
Joaquim P — Google review
The setting and service are flawless: elegant dining room, attentive staff, and a stunning view of the ocean that makes the experience pleasant. However, I find that the prices do not match the quality of what is served. The restaurant clearly relies on its location to inflate the bill. For example: a simple bread basket at €5.50, oysters at €4 each, and desserts at €8.50 that are not even homemade. This leaves an impression of poor value for money. In summary, a beautiful place for the setting and atmosphere, but overpriced for what’s actually on the plate.
Andre G — Google review
All the makings of a good restaurant but falls very short of expectation. Pepper steaks arrived cold, VERY long wait for food, leaking roof, tomato rice was underwhelming. At 60 euros minimum per head we expected more, WAY more in terms of service and taste. Unfortunately I recommend to skip this one.
Ivan — Google review
We are Americans visiting Lisbon and picked this restaurant based on the reviews and photos. We had the most wonderful staff who mostly spoke English as well. We ordered the paella which was enough for 4 people even though the menu lists it for two. The espresso and desserts, especially the sericaia, were also delicious. 10/10 would highly recommend.
Deanna F — Google review
The restaurant could be a bit expensive for the Portuguese wage however the quality is very good. Whatever you select between fish and meat you will get a great meal. The atmosphere is very good and the restaurant is quite big, I guess you will always be able to get a table. Recommended!
Miguel G — Google review
Lovely romantisch chique restaurant. Super friendly people. A other experience then I had already in Portugal. I had a special sole delicio meal. Very clean. Lovely live music. I'm coming back. The only tip I have for the restaurant, tell people that the olives are salty before they choose them. And let them also choose to fill their fish theirselve iff they want to do that.

Nestled along the stunning Avenida Marginal in Praia da Parede, Boi na Brasa is a churrascaria that promises an unforgettable dining experience. This spacious and meticulously designed venue offers an impressive array of dishes, including succulent meats served in traditional rodizio style, alongside a delightful buffet featuring soups, cheeses, shellfish, fish, pork, chicken, veal, and fresh salads. The ambiance is inviting and lively—perfect for enjoying good food with friends or family.
Very good food at a good price and a nice view from the roof.

First time i was there they served me cheap whisky and claimed the was the expensive one i ordered (it was not). Second time we got a drink that was way too sweet, the waiter then went to the bar to get it changed and then he took a sip out of my glass before he served it back to me, we were 3 people at the table that saw him do it, and he acknowledged it as well when i confronted him. Absolutely amateurs, do not waste your time and money.
Chris B — Google review
We ate here tonight and it was awful! We live in the area and had been wanting to try it because the music filtering down to the street has always been lovely. We called to confirm what time the live music would be tonight and arrived at 7 when they said it would start. Unfortunately the music didn’t start until 8:15 and in the meantime the food was horrible. Dried out buffet items that looked like they were sitting there all day, and fatty/chewy cuts of meat. We were one of three tables in the restaurant and although there were probably 5 staff members around our glasses sat empty. There are a lot of great restaurants in Cascais- avoid this place because it is not one of them.
Ellie F — Google review
Amazing selection of food ranging from soup, cheese, shellfish, fish, pork, chicken, veal and nice fresh salads. All dishes were well done. The place is huge and clean. It's one of our better meals in Portugal and it cost 9.99 for an All you can eat buffet. They don't have desserts which is great because we were so full we could not eat more!
Esthee W — Google review
Great experience and music was a vibe. Its the Portuguese Rodizio
Stephen B — Google review
I had the "polvo a lagareiro" which was pretty good, but a friend had the "bitoque a portuguesa" which was a pretty sad, chewy piece of overcooked steak. The service was also pretty slow and our main dishes arrived 5 minutes apart. The margarita cocktail I had was pretty amazing! Overall, the food and drinks were okay, but somewhat overpriced.
Don R — Google review
I have a hard time with this review because I can tell the place is really great. The ambiance is wonderful and the food/service should be excellent. I visited after they had been reopened a very short time. The service staff struggled a bit and the food was so-so. I will return though and I believe there's huge potential.
John R — Google review
Good for the view and the rodizio experience if you haven't had one yet. However, it is not an excellent rodizio, nor an actually impressive buffet. They also try to compensate food quality with live music... so if you are looking for a Brazilian meal experience, this will be pleasant, but don't forget to try the real thing in South America when you have the chance.

Mercado da Vila, formerly known as Mercado de Cascais, has been a vital part of the town for 60 years. This bustling market offers a wide array of goods including fish, fruits, vegetables, cheeses, and flowers in its large hall. It has managed to maintain its traditional charm while also incorporating dining options that keep it lively and active. The market serves as a meeting point for both commerce and social interactions.
Amazing place to do groceries. Some accepts cards over 10€ but generally I suggest you to bring cash. You can find variety of fruits, vegetables dried fruits & plants. I bought bell peppers plant to grow in my small garden 3€ /12 pieces super cheap. I also purchased, grapes, cherry tomatoes, corn, fig, watermelon, mango etc. People are so friendly. Inside is little bit hot in summer but still tolerable. This market works: Wednesdays, Saturdays & Sundays usually till 2 PM.

This place is amazing. My first time here and it's great to explore all the local fresh produce. Great selection of fruits, vegetables, eggs, cheese and flowers. There is also a fish market which is separate from the main part, which is brilliant so the smell is contained. Definitely worth checking out. There's also an outdoor area surrounded by cafes and chocolate shops. There are seating there as well.

A very pleasant atmosphere, a real Mediterranean market. For me, it gave a more authentic impression of Portuguese gastronomy than the Time Out Market in Lisbon. There, 75% of your experience is finding a seat. It's worth walking around with a glass of wine in hand to take in all the sights.

Bbeach Oeiras Club is a modern and cozy beach bar with a restaurant and bar that offers sun loungers for rent. The staff is friendly, and the cocktails are great. While the food is basic, it does the job. The club hosts events like Viva o Samba night, providing a great experience with live music. However, table booking could be managed better as there were delays in getting a table on the terrace.
Great views and dishes. Very hospital service. Fair prices. 100% recommend
Halyna — Google review
Cool location nestled down on the beach. Playing average pop music rather than some cool Portuguese beach vibe tunes. Caiprioska wasn't the best and was €10 so one of the more expensive ones in the area. Didn't have any food so can't comment. But location is great.
Rhino — Google review
Great venue - tasty food and reasonably priced. The staff are mostly welcoming.
Jade L — Google review
Great beach bar with choice of renting sun loungers for the day. I read a previous review which it was given a one star due to the price of the loungers. It costs €50 for 2 people for the day and that price is deducted from your food and drink bill so if you go over you pay the difference. The staff were friendly enough and cocktails were great. Food is basic but sufficed. Music is played throughout the day and it’s opened till late night. We made a day of it so in my opinion it was worth the money. The beach was cleaned the night we were there so the sand was so soft after it was done.

Amazing club and specially when hosting Viva o Samba night. Great experience apart from when we arrived like hour earlier and had to wait for the table over half an hour and get table inside which wasn’t a deal. After over hour later when we asked few times to get a table on the terrace we finally got it. Table booking definitely could be manage better. But whole night was great especially the musicians 👏👌 Also Gin & Tonic was very tasty and at the end staff tried their best to be nice and friendly ♥️

We had a wonderful lunch here yesterday. The setting is lovely, great food and the staff are absolutely charming. Well done!

Lovely location with a view the sea and on the beach. WeWell is hidden away for it not to be busy. Food; starters were very good, main course were very disappointing. Chicken was either dry or undercooked, pasts were soggy and cold, condiments for grilled fish were served way after the fish was eaten. We were a group of 26 to make it easy. we had pre-ordered like a 3 course each, a day in advance, yet the service was poor, staff untrained, food not being served. Then, when it came to billing, just thinking about it makes me cringe. This place has great potential to stand out, but alas! Might go back in a smaller group to give it a 2nd chance.

Takeout Restaurant
Marabuto is a popular spot in Sao Domingos de Rana known for serving delicious Bairrada-style Roasted Piglet and Leitao sandwiches at affordable prices. Visitors praise the high quality of the piglet, describing it as crispy, tender, and wonderfully seasoned. While some find it slightly overpriced, many still consider it to be one of the most delicious options available. The attentive and professional staff contribute to the overall positive experience at Marabuto.
(Translated by Google) TOP service and superior customer service. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants the Mealhada experience. Don't miss out on the impeccable price/quality. 🔝 (Original) TOP serviço e atendimento de qualidade superior. Aconselho vivamente a quem quer a experiência da mealhada. A não perder preço/qualidade impecável. 🔝

Since my husband and I moved to Portugal we wanted to try Portuguese Leitão. Unfortunately this is NOT the place to try it!!! First, it’s expensive. The meat is sold by the kilogram: 29,00 euros per kilogram!!! Not a lot of meat, mainly bones, and skin and it was VERY SALTY! They also gave us a dipping sauce that was also SALTY!!!! In addition, we purchased 3 pães which cost .40 euros each. Overall, expensive and very salty. We would not recommend this restaurant.

(Translated by Google) I have been a customer for years and it is very irregular. It used to be better, but now it lives off its fame and from being almost exclusive to Bairrada suckling pig in the area. The biggest problem is not having product quality criteria at origin. Sometimes it's good, other times it seems like I went to the supermarket to buy a retarded piglet, or that the piglet is already too big for a good piglet. They also don't weigh the piglet in front of the customer, which means that they have already complained about missing piglets compared to what they paid for. They usually resolve it without fuss and even compensate. The staff is friendly, but they could have improved their customer service standards.
