Zostel Old Manali is a relaxed hostel offering simple dorms and private rooms, some with mountain views. It is located in the picturesque setting of the Himalayas amidst apple orchards. The hostel features a garden cafe and popular amenities for a comfortable stay. Adventure enthusiasts can enjoy activities like snowboarding, trekking, and paragliding. A Hidden Gem – Peaceful, Cozy, and Welcoming Had an amazing stay at this beautiful offbeat property! The 300m walk to reach it adds to its charm, taking you away from the noise of vehicles and right into a peaceful, cozy ambience. The place feels like a perfect escape from the chaos of everyday life. The host was incredibly warm and welcoming, making the stay even more special. I also had the pleasure of meeting some truly amazing people during my time here. Would definitely love to visit again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a serene and memorable getaway

I loved this hostel. I booked one night and ended up staying 6. It has beautiful common areas that get all day sun, the view to the mountains is amazing and the staff are really great. The facilities are clean and well maintained. They have a fire in the common area which they light at night in the colder months. Location is really nice as well and they have free filtered water and a great cafe. Thanks for the hospitality! :)

This monsoon, we stayed at Zostel in Manali and had a wonderful experience. The booking and check-in process was smooth and hassle-free. The rooms were clean, cozy, and well-maintained, and the service was excellent. A special mention to Ajay, who manages everything with great care and dedication—he truly made our stay even better. We look forward to visiting Zostel again. Thank you!

Had a totally impromptu plan with my father and brother. Didn’t imagine to find so many warm and friendly people. The place, the people everything was so good! I didn’t feel like leaving. The food was also great specially the English breakfast and mushroom sabji. Would recommend you to go during off season.

We had a lovely time in Zostel Manali! Pritam and the stuff were very kind and host us with lots of care! We needed to add a few more nights than planned and they were understanding and welcomed us to stay! The rooms are clean and large, there are breakfast & dinner on demand and the view is WOW. If you are heading to Manali, go meet Pritam at the Zostel 😍

Hostel
The Culture Nation Hostel Manali offers a laid-back atmosphere with simple dorms and private rooms. The rooftop cafe provides stunning mountain views, while the friendly hosts create a welcoming environment where guests are treated like family. The hostel's location is ideal, situated amidst the charming old Manali with main cafes just a short distance away. Additionally, the hostel features fully furnished rooms surrounded by pine trees, making it an adult-only paradise for backpackers and staycations.
Had an amazing experience here. The rooms are amazing and clean. You can get hostel bunkbeds here if you are on a group trip. It would be more affordable than proper personal room. Personal rooms are also pretty good and have nice views. The only thing to remember is that if you have a suitcase you would find it difficult to go a long way up hill and then down hill by using stairs towards the hostel and then two floors of more climb. It was very hectic to reach there. Rooftop cafe is nice. The food (had chocolate pancake) was awesome. Overall a great place to stay. Plus they don't force you to leave even if you are an hour late from checkout time. Plus the wall with all the writings by all the hostelers is so great touch. Loved it overall.
Gaurav S — Google review
We had an amazing stay here. It's located in Old Manali with perfect hostel vibes with room as well as a dorm facility available. The owner is very nice and welcoming. She also has a Pet Dog by the name Pluto, who is very friendly even with strangers. Personally, I am afraid of dogs but Pluto was a well trained and calm dog. On the top floor they have an open seating arrangement which gives astonishing views of the mountains. In the night you can hangout on the terrace with another bunch of folks alongside the heater which is there till 10. The only disadvantage here is lift which I beleive most of the hostels here don't provide so it's sort of norm here. The host also hand cooks delicious Pizza and it's a must try!!!
Palash J — Google review
I went here on a trip and booked a private room. I had an amazing experience. People were extremely hospitable and helpful. They always helped if we needed to find places around. The location is so close to so many happening places in Manali and the food is so so good and incredibly cost effective. The views from the rooftop cafe is always breathtaking. I would highly recommend the place if you love meeting new people and networking with some good food and great hospitality. An absolute bonus if you love animals (P. S. I will never forget this cute little cat who slept in our laps)
Jellybean M — Google review
We, a family, 4 of us and our golden retriever dog stayed at Culture hostel in a deluxe room, which was very good. I just can't describe in words the experience we had at Culturehostel. Everything about it was Amazing. Our room was cozy, decor of the rooftop cafe and the scenic beauty of snow filled mountains from the..Just WoW. Food was delicious with lot of options. Owners Vishvesh and Vijayji are Wonderful, they guided us very well which helped us to explore Manali and enjoy it to the fullest. Culture hostel is right in the middle of Manali which saves lot of travelling time. Our dog buddy was made very comfortable and he too enjoyed every bit. Staff was very helpful. Had a look at bunk rooms, they too looked good, WiFi is good. So it's perfect for bachelor's too. For our next trip to Manali, we cannot think of any other place, it has to be Culture Hostel❤️ It's 10/ 10
Khalil H — Google review
The place is in old manali and while it may seem farther from mall road, it is better that it is that way. The property manager will help you with whatever you may need, the food is great, the rooftop cafe is a cool hangout place and all in a very affordable price.
Divya G — Google review
Great rooftop terrace to hang out and work. Staff is really helpful and friendly , prices are reasonable and the private roms are large and clean. I'd definitely recommend in Old Manali!
Nicolás C — Google review
The place is good for the price, and its location in the heart of Old Manali makes it super convenient to explore nearby cafés. That said, the rooms could really use a fresh coat of paint.
Soumik H — Google review
This is a fantastic spot for travellers, offering a cozy rooftop cafe with an incredible view. The services are top-notch, and the place is kept very clean, making it a comfortable stay. The ambiance is chill and inviting, perfect for unwinding. The food is delicious, with a variety of options to suit every palate. And to top it all off, there’s an adorable dog(Pluto) that adds a lovely, homely touch to the experience. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Old Manali!

Spacious, clean rooms. Great food and service. Everything we ordered was amazing. Staff is great helped us plan pur itinerary, suggested great places. Location is also great old manali and hidimba temple are at a walking distance. PS - deducted 1 star on room just because the wifi was not working

Warning Against Fraudulent Hotel Practices – Alt Life Manali Alt Life Manali is running a completely fraudulent setup. I strongly advise everyone not to book this hotel under any circumstances. I am from Gujarat, and due to unavoidable natural calamities, I had to cancel my booking five days in advance. Despite this, they refused to refund even a single rupee. Their staff displayed arrogance, unprofessionalism, and a complete lack of basic hospitality ethics. This establishment exploits customers with false promises and unethical practices. Such behavior amounts to cheating and fraud, and I am in the process of filing a police complaint against them. For your own safety and peace of mind, stay away from Alt Life Manali. They are dishonest, untrustworthy, and utterly unprofessional.

Absolutely loved this place! The room had a perfect view of the snow-capped mountains — magical both day and night. Cozy, peaceful, and just what you need for a relaxing getaway. Highly recommend!

1) Slow service, They don't have Coffee, milk, tea packet stuff To keep in the room. They order from Amazon which takes 4 days as told by the staff. Room cleaning issues was there . 2) They washrooms are not Good , leakage in washbasin which they don't bother to repair after reminding daily. 3) there was no AC ( air conditioner) in they rooms , I stayed in king & super deluxe room. They say that customer can live in fan in hot temperature of June - july . It was really hot .

The view, the view andddddd the view..what can I say about the hotel that hasn't been said already probably. I was excited enough to visit Manali and didn't give that much attention to the hotel part as I knew it would be awesome anyway. But as soon as the we entered the hotel premise, I knew I was up for something special. The room didn't disappoint and moreover made me jump like a child (actually did that once the hotel staff was gone 😉). To be honest, the rooms were so clean and neat that I felt compelled to keep it tidy even more. . The food were a bit pricey and service took it's own time sometimes. But, when you have such a pleasant view to witness who's got time for complaining. The hotel is a bit far from the Mall road so you've to take an auto or walk to go to the action area. But we did like the absence of hue and cry that we would've seen had we resided near the Mall road.
Somasree P — Google review
I had booked rooms for 15th May to 16th May thru MakeMyTrip...But unfortunately my flights got cancelled amid tensions between India- Pak. I wanted to cancel my Booking with the Alt life and MakeMyTrip have been trying to reach Alt life since 9th of May. I know the booking was non refundable...but you should be considerate under such conditions. Please consider making adjustments and respond to the calls and emails sent to you . EDIT :- It's been 14-15 days and yet y issue is not resolved.
Deepshikha C — Google review
Don't Bookfrom this hotel. They are inconsiderate for any emergencies be it a war situation in our country. When all flights were cancelled and every other Flights/Hotels were refunding the amount... These people were saying "Manali me to kuch nahi ho raha hai" so they will not refund. They didn't even considered rescheduling the booking. I wonder what kind of humans run this place. There are much better places to stay at manali than the hotel of these money mongers.. DONT BOOK NOT RECOMMENDED SAVE YOUR MONEY

Staying here was a great experience! It takes a bit of a walk to reach the location but the host is extremely helpful and welcoming. They engage with all the guys and also host some activities for all. The food is decent and the rooms are clean. Extremely pleasant surroundings and there is a dog on the grounds who is a gem. Would definitely recommend staying here. I can't wait to go back

I had a great stay at this property. The view was absolutely excellent—perfect for anyone looking to relax and enjoy nature or a peaceful setting. One of the standout features is how quiet it is; it's located away from noisy surroundings, making it ideal for a restful getaway. Highly recommended for those seeking tranquility and scenic beauty.

Amazing stay with an even amazing view. Their open area in front of the dorms is a treat to hangout and play or just chill. It provides volunteer opportunities aswell, something would love to explore. The volunteer during our stay Sakshi was super supportive and helpful. (PS: best tea in manali from my pov)

If you're looking for a place where the Wi-Fi is strong, the vibes are stronger, and the hosts are basically your new best friends(shoutout to Sakshi & Rishika), Madpackers Manali is the spot. Met a delightful mix of solo travelers, digital nomads, and fellow backpackers mixed with a tinge of fun, craziness and goofy memories. Though I stayed in a nearby famous hostel but the vibe at this place is unmatched. Would highly recommend!
Rizwan A — Google review
I came here with my friends. Though we were a bit skeptical about staying at a hostel- obviously, since it was our first time-Rishika made us feel at home and recommended some great places around. I'd love to visit Madpackers and Old Manali again. It was one of the best trips of my life. 😀♥️🤗

Amazing place and great vibes! Rishika (Property manager) is very kind and accommodating and most importantly, super cool. Staff is also quite helpful. Overall, a 10/10 place. Much recommended!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Came for a night, stayed 5 days — that says it all! Madpackers Old Manali is a hidden gem nestled above the chaos of New Manali, offering peaceful mountain views, fresh air, and fruit trees you can actually eat from (just don’t waste!). The vibe is warm and homely, thanks to Mamraj ji — a lovely soul who manages the place like family. The 3 km forest trail hike from Mall Road is a must, giving you a glimpse of Himachali culture and you can also get auto and taxi to reach . The hostel’s location is perfect — close enough to explore everything, yet peacefully tucked away. And hey, ask for the Wi-Fi password — there’s a sweet secret in it! Visited during off-season and got a great deal. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking to unwind and truly connect.
Manoj R — Google review
I had a really bad experience! Reconsider if you want to come to this hostel. Very bad facilities and no support from the staff. First night there was no towels and clean shits on the bad. The water of the shower was extremely hot or very cold. The second night there was no water at all so we couldn’t take a shower or use the toilet. There was no one in the reception and no one answered the phone. Even after we woke up the reception girl she couldn’t help us. And above all of that the price is extremely high. Almost 4000 rupees per night compare to 1500 rupees in any other hostel in manali. You expect that in that price you will get more than basic, like ac or a fan, but in that hostel you won’t get even the basic.

Hostel
Nestled in the picturesque landscape of Vashisht, La Vaca India Manali is a tranquil hostel that invites you to unwind amidst nature's beauty. With its modest dorms and private rooms featuring balconies that overlook stunning valley views, this haven is perfect for those seeking solace from city life. Just a stone's throw away from the soothing waters of the River Beas, guests can relish breathtaking sunrises and misty clouds right from their accommodations.
The Location One of the best properties situated in the quiet of Vashishth. The property is very beautifully placed overlooking the mighty Himalayas and the serene Beas flowing through the valley below. The continuous sound of water flowing through the river is immensely therapeutic. It is located very close to the Vashishth temple and the hot spring and the lane leading to it offers a beautiful walk to the temple with a small pretty market on both sides. It is very conveniently located away as well as near the hustle bustle of the city. A perfect distance that could be made on foot down to the Mall Road Manali or to Old Manali. The perfect place to be for people looking for an isolated stay but near enough to the city too for a good walk. The property Being a solo traveller, I stayed in their dormitories. They were very comfortable with all facilities available at a very reasonable price point which is not at all harsh on your pockets. Every dorm and even every private room is pretty spacious and has a balcony with the most stunning views. Cleanliness and hygiene is appropriately taken care of. A very cozy common room and terrace allows you to connect with fellow travellers, share stories, or just relax staring at the views before. They have a limited menu currently but the full menu will soon resume too. Foodies however can explore many eateries situated nearby catering to all taste buds. The people The host and the staff are very warm and welcoming people and always a call away for any help, ensuring that one has the most comfortable stay. They will go over and beyond and make every effort for your comfort as well as enjoyment. Special mention for the host Atul ji who is very kind and accommodating to all your needs. The fact that I checked in for 2 days and stayed for almost 12 days is my biggest compliment to the people of Lavaca. Went for the bed, stayed for the views, the people and the calm. Wishing them the best for times to come.

1. Nice View, Poor Service: While the hotel had a beautiful view, the service was extremely disappointing. 2. Inconvenient Dorm Facilities: We stayed in a 10-bed dorm with only one washroom for all guests, which was very inconvenient. 3. Poor Accessibility: The dorm was located three floors underground, and there was no drinking water available. We had to climb three floors repeatedly just to get water. 4. Lack of Heating & Cleanliness: The room had no heating despite extremely cold weather, and it was dirty and poorly maintained. 5. Rude Caretaker: The caretaker was very unfriendly. When we arrived early, he refused to let us wait in the common area and made us sit outside in -15°C temperatures. 6. Overpriced, Bad Food: The food was expensive and tasted bad, making it a poor value for money. 7. Overall Experience: Despite the scenic view, the lack of basic amenities, poor service, and rude behavior made the stay highly unsatisfactory. Would not recommend unless significant improvements are made.

Disappointing Experience with Host Behavior! The property is fine, but it’s extremely poorly managed. The hosts get upset if you plan to go out at night and return late, prioritizing their own comfort over the guest’s convenience. Once they’re upset, they become passive-aggressive and try to pressure you into checking out. Overall, not a guest-friendly attitude.

The view is to die for. They have cozy rooms and a cute chilling area downstairs. I will definitely book this hostel again. Edit : We booked the hostel again via hostelworld but upon arrival the caretaker told us that he has given the room to someone else because we didn’t call him to confirm the booking. And the situation of the hostel looked really bad.

Very beautiful place to stay. The outlet is apt for youngsters looking for a place to relax and vibe, also for people vouching for working vacations. We wanted to have a silent place to relax after hectic days of travel and we got that, also if you want to party, you shall get the options as well. 1. Cheap 2. Value for money 3. Attentive staff 4. Excellent wifi 5. Delicious food Situated in the old Manali market. Keep in mind it's a bit of a walk if you want to go to Mall road.
Rubhan M — Google review
Beautiful little hostel in the hippie side of Old Manali. The top floor has an incredible view of the valley. The rooms are basic, clean, and comfortable. The gigs and quaintness of the Old Manali cafes are within walking distance, but this hostel is also just a bit inside, not too far away from the main road, so it is convenient and very peaceful. The staff is great. Bablu can whip up a mean thali that will save you from having to eat pizza and schnitzel for every meal. And it tastes great. The cafe is a treat to sit in and just vibe, especially if it's raining outside. All in all, a cozy, homely little getaway.

The cool breeze, the tall trees, and the quiet surroundings make it an ideal place to take a break from the hustle of Manali town. Unlike most temples, there is no idol inside just a footprint of Goddess Hadimba, which adds to the temple’s uniqueness.

The Hidimba Devi Temple in Manali is an ancient cave temple dedicated to Hidimbi Devi, a character from the Indian epic, the Mahabharata. Set among beautiful cedar forests, the temple has a unique pagoda-style architecture made of wood and stone. It was built in 1553 and is locally known as the Dhungri Temple.

Hadimba Devi Temple in Manali is one of the most peaceful and iconic spots in Himachal Pradesh. Surrounded by tall cedar (deodar) forests, this 16th-century wooden temple dedicated to Goddess Hadimba — wife of Bhima from the Mahabharata — beautifully blends spirituality with nature. The temple’s unique architecture, with its four-tiered pagoda-style roof and intricately carved wooden doorway, stands out from anything else in the region. The atmosphere is serene and filled with a sense of divine calm, especially in the early morning or evening hours. However, the area can get quite crowded during peak tourist seasons, and the nearby stalls make it feel a bit commercialized — but the charm of the temple and its forest setting easily outshine that. 📍 Location: Old Manali, Himachal Pradesh 🕒 Timings: 8 AM – 6 PM (Open daily) 💡 Tip: Visit early in the morning for quiet surroundings and great photos among the pine woods. A must-visit heritage and spiritual site that captures the essence of old Manali’s beauty and devotion. 🌲🙏

Hidimba Devi Temple, also called Dhungri Temple, was built in 1553 by Maharaja Bahadur Singh and is dedicated to Hidimba Devi, wife of Bhima from the Mahabharata. The temple is made of wood and stone in traditional Himachali architecture, surrounded by cedar forests. It has a unique pagoda-style roof with intricate carvings and no idol of Hidimba—only a footprint on a rock believed to be hers. It’s both a religious site and a major tourist attraction.

Hadimba Devi Temple is a 5-star pocket of peace, tucked away in a beautiful grove of towering trees. There's a palpable sense of serenity here, making it a perfect escape. Of course, its fame skyrocketed thanks to a certain blockbuster movie ("Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani"), so you'll be sharing that peaceful vibe with plenty of fellow film fans. Now, for the mandatory public service announcement: you will be swarmed by an astonishing number of annoying hawkers aggressively selling saffron and shilajit. My advice? Just don't fall for it. Politely (or firmly) ignore them and move on. Once you've navigated that gauntlet, the area around the temple is lovely. There are plenty of shops where you can browse for actual souvenirs or grab a bite to eat. Whether you're here to kill a few hours in a beautiful, shaded setting or to genuinely pay your devotion at this ancient, unique temple, it's a fantastic stop. Just keep your wallet closed until you hit the actual souvenir shops!

So old and so beautiful. Built of wood and stone in a scenic background. The Hidimba of the Mahabharata is said to have remained here in meditation when the Pandavas went forward. The temple is very peculiar in its conception and in its shape. Tourists who visit Manali definitely come to Hidimba Temple too. The surroundings add to the beauty of the temple. The tall pine trees are stationed like soldiers guarding the temple.

Very very soothing place located in the pine forest. You can reach temple by climbing stairs and by direct car as well however parking the vehicle is a bit difficult task. You can visit further from there also there is a place called van vihar. Must visit for picnics and photoshoot.

One of the most iconic sightseeing spots in Manali. The temple has its own deep-rooted beliefs and peaceful vibes. Outside the temple, there’s a touch of fun too you can enjoy a yak ride, try on traditional Manali attire for photos, and even pose with the cutest pet rabbits! A perfect mix of spiritual calm and touristy fun. Definitely worth a visit with family.

Recently visited the Museum of Himachal Culture and Folk Art, a private museum showcasing the state's cultural heritage. It's just 50 meters far from Hadimba devi temple. While I appreciate the effort to preserve and promote Himachal's rich cultural history, I left feeling somewhat underwhelmed. The museum's collection is modest, and the exhibit space is quite small. Unfortunately, the artifacts and displays didn't quite live up to my expectations. With an entry fee of ₹30, I felt that the experience wasn't entirely worth the cost. That being said, I do acknowledge the museum's potential as a valuable resource for those interested in Himachal's cultural heritage. Perhaps with additional exhibits, interactive displays, or a more comprehensive collection, this museum could become a more engaging and enriching experience for visitors. Rating Breakdown: - Collection and Exhibits: 2.5/5 - Value for Money: 2/5 - Overall Experience: 3/5 I hope this review provides a balanced perspective, and I wish the museum's management all the best in their efforts to improve and expand their offerings.

Worth visiting this attraction having visited Manali. It’s quite easy for us since we stayed in the resort attached to the same building. One can get glimpse of Himachal related to its culture and folk arts. Practically there’s no rush of visitors at the time of our visit. There’s an entrance ticket @ Rs 30 per head. This attraction is very close to well known Hadimba Temple.

Museum is neat and clean and well maintained, but when you look at the descriptions and start reading it, you will realise that it is a 10th grader’s holiday homework done satisfactorily. Need to have good descriptions for what exactly people are looking at, what its value is and how it was important to people using them. Also, there is a washroom inside the museum but no sign board or direction to reach it or actually know if there is a washroom! All in all, learnt few things and laughed at few. Can be a greater place of information if taken seriously for the purpose of knowledge sharing. Ticket was ₹30 per person.

Review of Himachal Museum of Art and Culture I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Himachal Museum of Art and Culture, and I must say that it was a truly enriching experience. Located in the scenic state of Himachal Pradesh, this museum stands as a testament to the rich cultural heritage and artistic traditions of the region. Upon entering the museum, I was immediately struck by its well-curated exhibits and the attention to detail in presenting the art and culture of Himachal Pradesh. The museum offers a comprehensive collection of artifacts, artworks, and historical objects that provide a glimpse into the vibrant history and diverse traditions of the region. The museum showcases a wide range of art forms, including paintings, sculptures, textiles, and woodwork. Each exhibit is accompanied by detailed descriptions, offering valuable insights into the significance and symbolism behind the artworks. The arrangement of the exhibits is thoughtful, allowing visitors to navigate through the different sections and themes with ease. One of the highlights of the museum is its collection of traditional Himachali paintings. The intricate brushwork and vivid colors used in these artworks are truly captivating. The museum does an excellent job of preserving and displaying these delicate paintings, allowing visitors to appreciate the skill and craftsmanship of the artists. Another aspect that impressed me was the inclusion of interactive displays and multimedia presentations. These features enhance the visitor experience by providing additional context and a deeper understanding of the art and culture of Himachal Pradesh. It was fascinating to learn about the various rituals, festivals, and customs through audio-visual aids. The museum staff deserves special commendation for their knowledge and enthusiasm. They were approachable and eager to answer any questions, offering valuable insights and anecdotes about the exhibits. Their passion for preserving and promoting the cultural heritage of Himachal Pradesh was evident throughout my visit. The ambiance of the museum is serene and inviting. The architecture of the building blends harmoniously with the surrounding landscape, creating a tranquil setting for exploring the exhibits. The well-maintained gardens and outdoor spaces provide a pleasant retreat, allowing visitors to relax and reflect upon their museum experience. In terms of facilities, the museum offers amenities such as a gift shop and a café, which adds to the overall convenience and enjoyment of the visit. The museum's dedication to accessibility is also worth mentioning, as it provides wheelchair accessibility and accommodates visitors with special needs. Overall, my visit to the Himachal Museum of Art and Culture was a delightful and educational experience. It is a must-visit destination for anyone interested in exploring the rich artistic and cultural heritage of Himachal Pradesh. The museum's well-curated exhibits, knowledgeable staff, and beautiful setting make it a standout attraction in the region. I highly recommend a visit to this museum to all art enthusiasts and culture seekers alike.

Not ur normal museum in that theres very little information and dating of pieces for context. Still, great to walk thru, admission was so cheap I can't accurately remember the price(30 rupees?). If your up in that part of town, drop in. It's worth a quick look.

If you want to know about the history, food, culture and habits of the people of this region, you can visit the museum. You can see many interesting artifacts like cooking utensils, ornaments, models of historical buildings, wood carvings, vintage pictures, etc. Coins and tools. It showcases almost extinct articles that vividly showcase the forgotten culture, art and handicrafts of Himachal Pradesh. The museum displays models of temples and forts, traditional costumes, utensils, musical and ritual instruments, wood carvings and various other items. It is a small museum near Hidimba Devi temple. Entry fee is only Rs.20.

The common space is super cosy, and there is a good rooftop (and cafe!) with a view of the mountains. I cannot wait to stay here again when next in Manali!

THE HOST IS EXTREMELY EXTREMELY RUDE I often travel solo so am very well aware how cool and warm hosts treat you especially at hostels unlike at this place where the host is on some 7th cloud for owning the property. I had mixed reviews about this place beforehand booking the property because i read lot of reviews complaining the host is rude but yes the reviews proved to be truthful. You travel to make good memories and for the good vibes , I would not recommend staying at this place because if someone is unnecessarily rude to you throwing shades at you it definitely will ruin your mood and the overall trip . Explore for better options.

It is a very old temple with a quiet place and feels very peaceful when inside the temple. Beautiful scenery around feels like the temple is touching the sky and the snow based mountains all surrounded with apple trees. Difficult to walk to the temple but there is a facility of auto... But it was with walking to the hill top as I would not like to miss the beautiful old wooden houses n lots of shopping stops.

Beautiful, Old-Styled ancient temple of Sage Manu located in Old Manali. It is also believed that Manali was named after him. The Manusmiriti is attributed to Sage Manu, who is also considered as the first man & lawgiver in Hindu tradition. Road to it is narrow so avoid taking SUVs. Walking, 2-wheeler or Lord Alto is the best way to reach. Sit inside the temple for a while and soak in the peace. Photography is not allowed inside the temple. Date of Visit - 25th March, 2025

No, this temple is not dedicated to any god or goddess. This temple, with traditional himachali architecture, is dedicated to sage Manu, who, according to Hindu beliefs, was the first human being and progenitor of the human race. The temple was a short hike from The Hosteller, where we stayed in old Manali. There were many old, beautiful, traditional wooden houses in the vicinity of this temple, and many cafes serving traditional himachali dishes.

Visiting Manu Temple in Old Manali was such a peaceful and refreshing experience. The temple is surrounded by stunning mountain views and has a very calming atmosphere. The walk up to the temple feels like a journey through nature itself, and once you reach, the serenity makes it all worth it. 🙏 I loved how the wooden architecture blends beautifully with the surroundings and adds to the charm of Old Manali. It’s not just a place of worship but also a spot where you can sit quietly, reflect, and feel connected with the environment. If you are in Manali, this temple is definitely worth the visit for both spiritual vibes and the scenic beauty around it. 🌿🏔️

The room itself wasn't bad but the property isn't maintained properly. The beds were creaky, you could feel every movement of the person above, and there was water clogging in the bathroom. With 6 people sharing a washroom, it should have been cleaned often. Water wasn't available for a period of time. The location is quiet and accessible. The rest needs lots of improvement.

Pros: A budget friendly place to stay. The manager was kind enough & helpful. Located very close to the old Manali town (for village experience). Room & restroom were clean. Good ambience. Had one of the most memorable stays here! Be it the location, the rooms, the food or the staff, I loved each and every aspect. Firstly, this place has some splendid views and it isn't very remote. The mall road and outstation bus stops are around 20 minutes from here. The staff here is very cordial and helpful. They also had heaters for rental, which was very useful in the snow! We took the rooms instead of the dorms, and they were well kept. There's a cafe downstairs with decent food and it is very useful as there aren't many food outlets nearby. The hidamba devi temple is walking distance from here. Would definitely recommend this place if you are looking for pocket friendly stay in Manali!

Very pleasant stay. Breakfast was amazing. Rooms are well maintained with a great view. Calm cozy place. Only problem is bit away from the city centre. If you have own vehicle then it’s the best place, otherwise cabs will charge quite an amount.

Very pleasant stay. It was my first time staying out of state. Manali was truly one of the greatest life experience for me. Breakfast is included, and trust me it is very tasty. Hospitality is brilliant. Abhishek is truly the best at manageing things. He is helpful and always have positive approach towards the guests. We had a birthday for our friend, he bought the cake and bouquet himself to make our stay memorable. Manoj, who is 20 years old too good looking & model like - personality , helped us in organizing the bon fire on our last day. Last dinner was really the amazing thing happened during our stay.

What an absolute great place to spend your vacation. With great view of valley from window with gourmet food. All the workers were extremely hard working and friendly. Scooty on rent was also a very great idea.

We had a wonderful 1-night stay at Zen Manali – Keekoo Stays during our Leh bike trip, and it was a perfect choice! The property is well-maintained, clean, and ideally located — just a 5-minute walk from Hadimba Temple. The rooms were spacious, the washrooms were spotless, and all essential amenities were provided. The staff was extremely polite and helpful. They went out of their way to assist us with local advice and even helped us connect with a reliable bike rental service, which was a huge help for our journey. The food was absolutely delicious — one of the best we had on our trip. Whether you're starting your Leh ride or just visiting Manali, this place is highly recommended for a comfortable and memorable stay!

I stayed at Zen Hotel recently and had a very disappointing experience. The food was not good at all — especially the breakfast, which had hardly any variety or options. It felt like no effort was made to cater to guest preferences. On top of that, the staff behavior was quite rude and unprofessional. Instead of being helpful or polite, they seemed disinterested and unwilling to assist with even basic requests. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel, especially if you're expecting decent service and good food during your stay.

It was a very good experience at zen keekoo manali. The property is very clean, well maintained with nice views. Best part about this property is that it is very near to old manali cafes and hadimba temple. Mall road is also at accessible distance. The staff is very polite and always ready for help. It is a very good hotel at a good budget price. We had great experience at this place

The property is very close to Old Manali market, very neat and clean. The staff is very humble & polite. Room service was excellent. Abhishek Jha was very cooperative and helped us with all his honesty and genuine approach. He was prompt to come back to us related to all the requests we made and very approachable. Over all an amazing experience. We booked this property at the last moment and it was an amazing experience for us. Thank you

Had an amazing stay at ArtBuzz Manali! The location is truly offbeat—perfect for anyone looking to escape the crowds and enjoy some peace and quiet amidst nature. While the road leading to the property could definitely be better, it’s all worth it once you arrive. 🤌🏻 The property itself is beautiful and well-maintained, with a cozy vibe that instantly makes you feel at home. The rooms were clean, spacious, and very comfortable—exactly what you'd want after a long day of travel or trekking and enjoy your time in game room! 😄 A special mention to Mr. Harish—his hospitality and attention to detail were outstanding. He went above and beyond to ensure our stay was smooth and enjoyable. ‎Staying at Social Stays Manali was one of the highlights of my trip! The property strikes a perfect balance between modern comfort and the charm of the mountains. The rooms were clean, well-designed, and offered breathtaking views. The food was delicious and the vibe around the property was chill yet lively — perfect for solo travelers and groups alike. ‎ ‎A big thanks to Mr. Harish Kumar at the front desk. His warm hospitality and prompt assistance made everything so easy, from check-in to local sightseeing recommendations. He’s not just efficient but genuinely kind — someone who truly cares about guest satisfaction.

Not sure how this place has a 4.8 rating. We booked a stay and were disappointed. There was no water on the property in the morning, the room had bugs and flies and the food was terrible - even after we added specific instruction for baby food. Not recommended
Anshul B — Google review
Good view, best rooms- the structure: and architecture of rooms. They have a quick room ala cartè menu, which is decently priced. The service and initiative by the staff: especially by Harish bhai and sanjay bhai- is worth praise. The view from the rooms is absolutely the best- especially from the 3rd floor. There is a lift available also. Pricing is quite reasonable- stayed for a good 8 days here. All in all: the beststay in old manali, will surely come back again.

The prime location is best thing about Moustache Manali .. everything is so easily accessible from this place and the view from the hostel is so pretty. The host Deepak is so sweet, I still remember how he arranged to make dinner for us even when the kitchen and shops were closed. Had a wonderful stay and met amazing people here. This place felt like another home♥️

The stuffs are simply amazing and friendly. And so very helpful. No matter what time of 24 hours you need help they are there with no miss with their full support. The location is just perfect. My first experience at hostel and it turned out to be absolute fun. Enjoyed the stay. Location is prime with proper parking slot. Just at the gates of old manali, hence ensures least travel with luggage. In close vicinity with cafes, tourist locations and offbeat places.

it's my first time that I had stayed in a hostel, and truly it was a wonderful experience. hostel had options of 6 bedroom, 4 bedroom dorm as well as seperate individual rooms. prices were quite affordable compared to nearby hostels and they also provide free wifi. staff was quite polite and helpful and rooms and toilets were clean.
Sarthak G — Google review
The best thing about this property is it's location. It's bang opposite the old Manali bridge, so it's very convenient. The room was clean, service was ok but the cost is not at all justified - 2.2k for one night during off season whereas we were getting better rooms for 1k! The low rating is only for the exorbitant pricing.

The best hostel in Manali. Situated amidst an apple orchard with a view of the mountains and the city below. Nearest to Hadimba Temple if you want to visit the famous temple. Most of all the kind and helpful staffs and owner of the hostel is commendable. There's a terrace where you will get the amazing view and relax anytime you want. Common room cum dining room where food was served in a traditional sitting arrangements. Situated near the iconic Manu Temple in Old Manali, this hostel boasts unbeatable views of the serene landscape. The recently renovated cafe offers delicious food while the pet-friendly and budget-friendly accommodation ensures a comfortable stay.
We recently spent five days at Bros Hostel in Manali as a family and it was our first and the best hostel experiences we've had. The location is perfect, peaceful and away from the hustle yet close to main attractions. The hostel offers stunning mountain views and a calm environment. The rooms were clean, spacious, and well-kept and there's a great common area called Yaara Cafe where you can relax and enjoy the surroundings. Mr. Amar was super friendly and helpful, going out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed. He also gave great local recommendations and made us feel like part of the Bros family having to ensure safety and security of his guest . They also offer rented two wheeler at a affordable prices. Overall, we couldn’t have asked for a better stay. Bros Hostel is great value for money with an excellent location, top-notch amenities, and a welcoming vibe. I've stayed at bros and must say the best hostel in old manali. The place is super clean, well maintained and has a great vibe. The people who run/manage it are amazing and make you feel right at home. Hospitality is commendable and they make sure that you experience the local culture and warmth of that place. As a solo female traveler, I felt completely safe and comfortable here. It’s the perfect place for backpackers — chill, friendly and easy to meet new people. Highly recommend!

I stayed at Bro’s Hostel in Old Manali, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the moment I arrived, the vibe was warm, welcoming, and full of good energy. The staff felt more like friends than hosts — always around with great recommendations, local stories, or just some fun conversation by the bonfire. The location is perfect — nestled just far enough from the busy tourist spots to feel peaceful, but close enough to cafes, trails, and the river. The rooms were clean, cozy, and had that rustic charm that makes Manali so special. What truly makes this place stand out is the community vibe. Whether you’re a solo traveler, digital nomad, or just here to relax, you’ll instantly feel like part of a family. 10/10 recommend — I’ll definitely be back. Thanks for the memories, Bro’s Hostel! 💚🏔️

Really wonderful place. We loved our stay in the beautiful and peaceful environs of the mountains. The village is pretty and surrounded by the Himalayas and is accessed by the river. The cottage has four excellent rooms with independent entrance and balcony. A fully functional kitchen with a bar.

You will feel like a homestay here with the very welcoming nature of the hosts. It will take 5 minutes walk from old Manali bridge to reach to this place. The staffs are very helping and available for assistance on call as well at anytime. It is located at a very peaceful place away from the main market . Make sure to carry a torch with you if you are planning to go to this place after Sunset as the road leading to this place is not having any street light. Also another plus point is that they serve amazing food , but you will have to make advance order if you prefer to eat non veg. I can not wind up this with out mentioning the helping nature of the owner Rohit , he kept on guiding me all the from the beginning of my trip til i finish up my time there. Note : i am not recommending this place for families.
Shijin G — Google review
A place away from the croud, yet the company of the hosts and other fellow travellers make it very interesting. Interesting is also the way the place is designed and decorated kind of like a hippy place yet gives a warm and welcoming feeling. I came to this place by chance and im glad that sometimes this chance can be very rewarding. The hosts are very friendly and they themselves are travellers,so they know how to host other travellers. Also this place is very safe for girls and women ,either solo or with friends as sandhya is always there to help. I know this as i was travelling with 2 girls. If you are a pet lover then this place will keep you happy with dogs and cats which stay at the place ,which for me was really interesting as i love pets☺️ So over all its a great place to stay. And im looking forward to staying there again.

Visited this place on 13th November. Starting with the positive bit, this is a cute and nicely kept stay a little away from the hustle and bustle of old manali. We had to trek a bit to reach the location which was fun and adventurous. On reaching it was a quite and isolated place with a great view and ambience. Leaving all this aside what followed was deeply unsatisfactory and dissapointing. The owner who does not stay there is rude and ill behaved. The next morning looking at the bill was shocking because like no other hotel/homestay ever we were charged extensively for heater/bon fire and also heating up the food which was not informed to us earlier. The food available is also disgusting and highly priced. Overall I would not recommend this place for anyone. There are far better places in Manali which one can opt for with better service.
Deepannita D — Google review
A gorgeous spot where the place is. You could spend your evenings and mornings while watching the sunrise as well as the sunset. Went in COVID times, and it was probably the most hygienic place to stay compare to other stays nearby. Staff is very friendly and the food is pretty nice too. A must visit for people looking for some shanti and craziness at the same time.
Garima S — Google review
One of the best places in Manali in the woods away from the crowd. Stayed here for more than a week. The host and supporting staffs were very helpful and kind heàrted. If you are a photographer then you can capture some splendid pics in its backyard. The best thing about the place- Macy. Explore the place and get to know her. 😃
Debasish N — Google review
I stayed here in the month of November and it was already freezing cold in Manali. The only plus point of this hostel apart from the budget is the location. If you’re seeking a peaceful place then it’s fine to be here. The food is super super expensive and just not apt for the price he charges. Most of the eateries are located near the old Manali bridge. There’s no dorm concept here. It’s like an open terrace which is covered by tarpaulin sheets and it becomes a struggle sleeping here.

They could have maintained a better pathway to the hostel. The narrow path leading to the hostel is muddy. Electricity cuts happen unexpectedly, affecting the hot water supply as well. The stay has an amazing vibe, no doubt. However, I’m unsure about how safe it is, as most guests and hostel staff are often smoking joints or something similar.

We had a very bad experience. Overpriced Staff is quite biased and really not nice when it comes to dealing with their guests. They will ask you to stay in your rooms after 9 as their other guests (who are owner’s friends) will sit and party. There are many other hostels in the same budget and which have decent staff. Never going to stay in folklore Specially Girls BE SAFE there

Really good hostel. The staff, especially Akshat, is fantastic. They took my citicisms and issues seriously and helped me solve them as quickly as possible. Comfortable bed, pillows, and great comforters. The bunk beds are a bit hard and the common room/cafe are a little cold at the moment but they are making improvements every day! The solar-powered hot water did not work initially in the 3rd floor private rooms but they installed hot water heaters to fix this issue. The private room beds are very comfortable though. And they have the cutest puppy, Oscar! Overall a really nice new hostel, keep up the good work! I'd give 4.5 stars if I could.

We were looking for an affordable stay at Manali and found out about this hostel in online research. Still in pocket , this place can provide a normal night stay for singles. Stayed there for 2 weeks, owners, chefs and cleaning departments were awesome. Front desk managers were nice at initial. one night before 2019 PM election results some guests and me were in a discussion. all were drunk and few inclucing managers were on LSD. I opposed one unhuam thought and went in my room in anger. after few minutes front desk managers came with 8 people broke in my room and enter my bathroom where i was peeing. they slapped me and i sat down and said beat me if you want to. local people at behind went and than front desk managers humiliated me for 45 mins and thron me out of hostel at 3am. Worst experience till now during my traveling. I request owner to replace such close minded people and enable proper security system for right kind of travelers to enable better human possibility.

From the moment we arrived, we were struck by the warm and welcoming atmosphere, thanks in large part to the owner. They are truly a gem – incredibly nice, calm, and genuinely friendly, making us feel right at home. What really set this place apart was the owner's attentiveness. They went above and beyond, guiding us to fantastic choices on the menu with thoughtful recommendations. It was clear they had a real concern for our satisfaction, regularly checking in to make sure we were enjoying our meal and stay without being intrusive.

I recently stayed in Sigiriya and absolutely loved the environment—it’s exactly what I’ve been searching for. The place is surrounded by open green landscapes, peaceful and refreshing. The proximity to a river added to the charm, and having a natural swimming pool was the highlight for me. It felt like a perfect escape into nature—serene, quiet, and incredibly rejuvenating. If you’re someone who enjoys staying close to nature with scenic views and a tranquil vibe, this is the place to be. I’d definitely love to return!

Our stay at Sigiriya Hotel in Manali was truly memorable. The location is peaceful and scenic—perfect for a relaxing break. There are some great places close by for hiking and walking around old manali was a treat to the senses. Also, as a special mention, It was fun to take a cold plunge in the river next door. The apple trees behind are beautiful. The food was fresh and tasty, and Mr. Amit was an excellent host, always attentive and welcoming. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Manali!

we really enjoyed our stay here as it is within walking distance of the town but set in the beautiful nature of manali. the host was really attentive and helped organise a taxi for when we had to leave. we also received a welcome pack with snacks and toiletries and we got a very good price on the room. would definitely recommend a stay here.

SIGIRIYA OLD MANALI Airbnb Review: Chill Vibes, River Views, and Great for Long Stays If you’re a backpacker or remote worker between 18 to 35 and looking for a spot that’s affordable, chill, and surrounded by nature — this Airbnb is a solid choice. It’s not very fancy, but it has a certain vibe that makes you want to slow down, breathe a little deeper, and maybe even extend your stay. Let’s start with the rooms — they’re pretty basic, think 3-star hotel level. You get a clean bed, decent shower, welcome Basket, blankets, food, and laundry. It does the job if you’re working remotely or just need a place to unwind and unplug. The Wi-Fi is surprisingly good too, which is a huge plus for anyone working online. The real magic of this place is outside the rooms. The whole property is super green, with big open lawns, tall trees, big rocks, and a river flowing nearby that gives the whole space a peaceful, “away from it all” feeling. You’ll find fire pit, outside and picnic tables all around — perfect for reading, working, or just zoning out and listening to nature. One of my favorite spots here is the on-site café. It’s got this cool, laid-back vibe and becomes the hangout zone for everyone staying there. They serve great tea, beverages ,and some tasty food (the breakfast poha are a must). It’s where people gather in the mornings to work or plan their day, and in the evenings to chill, play games, watch stuff on the projector, play guitar, sing songs or just have a drink and chat. Super social, but not in an overwhelming party hostel kind of way — more like a mellow, friendly community. This place is ideal for longer stays. It’s quiet at night, the staff is super easygoing and helpful, and there’s enough space that you never feel cramped. It kind of has this “home away from home” feel, where you can actually settle in and get stuff done — or not. Up to you. A lot of people come for a week and end up staying a month. You’ve been warned. Just a heads up: if you’re someone who needs luxury perks or high-end finishes, this probably isn’t your spot. There is room service, but you won’t find bath robes and blinkit delivery waiting for you. But if you're into good vibes, nature, and a place that feels more like a cozy community than a hotel, this might be exactly what you’re looking for. All in all, it’s the kind of place where you arrive as a guest but leave feeling like part of a little traveling tribe. I’d definitely recommend it for anyone who’s working on the go, wants a break from the city, or just needs a peaceful place to land for a while.

Booked for 1 day but extended it to 5 days Absolutely dreamy location, surrounded by mountains and lush greenery. The serene ambiance is broken only by the river and birds chirping. Host Amit bhaiya is friendly and cooperative. The architecture is cozy, especially the cafe. Being close to nature was a true dream come true!

Very accommodating and comfortable stay. Room was spacious and clean with a nice view. The staff were extremely nice and very welcoming. It had a very home-away-from-home feel. The house had beautiful wood panelling and there's this really pretty room on the top where you can enjoy the view and sit on mats on the ground, relaxing and talking. The stay is located on a hill which may be difficult to access if travelling by personal vehicle. However, the stay was worth it. Lastly, the food was very good. You won't miss your home food here.

The hostel provides a warm ambiance and unfiltered mountain views. Situated away from the city hustle, it offers peaceful surroundings and breathtaking mountain views. Guests can enjoy comfortable dorm beds, friendly staff, and delicious local homemade food or cook their own meals.
The location is more than perfect as the hostel is situated away form the city hustle. It was an absolute delight to be staying and chilling here. It is very peaceful here and you get the most breathtaking mountain views. The dorm beds are comfortable and the staff is very helpful and friendly. Also, they offer the local home made food which is very delicious and they also let you cook your own meal if you want(which was a big plus) Definitely coming back and staying here next time also. Recommended !!!
Himanshi S — Google review
Starting from the beginning till the end I have not experienced a more pathetic stay than this. The owner lacks basic courtesy towards his guests and speaks in a haughty manner. The hostel is situated on top of a hill and travelling there is like a small excursion. The place teems with drunken men after dark and very unsafe for women. The quality of the food does not match with the price. There was no water in the washroom and the geyser is a misnomer. Stay away from stayers hostel.
