Ramen restaurant
Toki Underground is a cozy Asian-fusion restaurant located on H Street. The interior is inspired by graffiti and street art, creating a unique atmosphere. The menu features delicious ramen noodle soups, dumplings, sake, and cocktails. Prices for a basic bowl start at $18, with the option of a kids' bowl for $12. Various toppings are available to customize your dish.
The food and the service were spectacular. The food was excellent. Great !!! again, great!! spot for ramen! definitely recommend it!! keep in mind, its kinda hard to find it, you go up the stairs. Only indoor seating and the place is small. the only thing i didn’t like was the margarita.
Daniel T — Google review
It looks like a fusion style ramen restaurant. I visited on Monday morning. The Tokyo Curry Chicken Ramen tasted good, and the fried chicken was crispy. However, the soup portion was much smaller than what is typically served with authentic Japanese ramen. Also, the Tonkotsu Ramen tasted like something I could buy at the supermarket, and the pulled pork was bland. In addition, we waited several minutes for the waiter, even though only two tables were occupied, which is unusual for a Monday morning.
Helen S — Google review
We really enjoyed the vibe there. It does feel “underground “ theme even it’s at the second floor. It’s like bar seating style. Their Ramen noodles soup was very creative and the fired chicken was absolutely delicious and impressive. Love all the Japanese beer options and we will definitely back again
Tommy T — Google review
The steam bun with fried chicken and the root beer chicken wings are both delicious. The fried chicken curry ramen and the numbing garlic ramen are both okay. The pork insides the numbing garlic ramen is delicious tho. The vibe is great. There are not many seats, and there are also no tables, so it’s more suitable for single customers or couples vs. a 3+ people gathering. Overall, it’s a nice experience.
Y.C. W — Google review
Toki Underground was a great little find. I had the ramen, which was flavorful and well-balanced, though I personally wish it had packed a bit more heat. The style and vibe of the restaurant really stood out, authentically Japanese and reminded me of ramen bars I visited in Japan. It’s small and cozy, kind of a hole-in-the-wall spot, but that’s what gives it its charm. The waiter was friendly and attentive, and it wasn’t too crowded when I went, which made for a relaxed, easygoing meal. Definitely worth a visit if you’re craving ramen with a laid-back, Tokyo-style atmosphere.
HoneyLeQueen — Google review
Came here without an reservation but after a short waiting time we sat down at the bar. Very friendly staff - excellent cocktails (try the one with the bacon - it’s absolutely worth it). The food is also very good :) really good ramen place!
Erna P — Google review
We had high hopes for this place, but the food was incredibly disappointing. I’m not very picky about food and am open to trying new and different dishes. I’ve tried countless types of ramen, as well as various Japanese, Chinese, and Korean cuisines, and I’m quite familiar with different taste profiles. However, this particular dish simply didn’t taste good.
Reza N — Google review
This place is pretty small, and easy to miss if you're trying to find it. However, the food is pretty good so worth the frustration. Located not too far away from the Union Station metro station. Overall, I think its a great place to get ramen in DC.

Cocktail bar
Chaplin's Restaurant is a unique 1920s-themed eatery in Shaw, offering a blend of Japanese fare and cocktails inspired by Charlie Chaplin's films. The restaurant provides a classy date vibe and features a bar with daily happy hour specials. Known for its cocktails and dumplings, Chaplins also offers an extensive ramen selection catering to various dietary restrictions, including vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options.
A solid place for excellent food, service, and ingredients. As you enter you'll find a low lit inviting atmosphere. The staff were great and attentive to everything you need. Food was definitely and freshly prepared. Cocktails were good with all the classics and some house made classics too. Fresh prepared noodles and appetizers that can please any appetite. Indoor and outdoor seating. Family friendly with a limited kids menu. Prices were reasonable. Downtown parking. Overall a great spot to visit if you're in DC.
Matthew K — Google review
I visited DC Friday and made a reservation at this place the day before based on good reviews, it was also my 17th anniversary which was noted on open table and now I will tell you my experience with this place first time. I arrived 15min before my reservation and have no problem being seated and I asked for outdoor seating and it was fine. For Friday night this place seems to be normal busy, what I mean by that is there are plenty of reservations open to book, and plenty of tables open but also plenty of people dining. The inside of the place seems nice but looked small and doesn’t seat that many people. Once we were sat down, we waited maybe about 8-10min before the server came to us for water and food. I already knew what we all wanted so I went ahead and order everything. The appetizers came out in about 10min which was fine, but this is where it started to go wrong with this place and my service. First the only two main dish that needs to come out after the appetizers was the actual ramen and chicken curry rice, let me tell you we sat there for 40min before the server named Tony come out and ask if we ever got our food, are you seriously asking me this questions right now? I said no and he went to check, I can tell you either the order didn’t get out in or something happened, I can tell you he wasn’t doing his job because if he had the food would had come out way before 40min. When the food finally came out he said sorry they were backed up, I know he was lying because it’s not, other people came later already got their food. This is where I would rate the service at 1 star, the reason I still give this place a 2 stars is because the ramen is good, everything else is just meh and everyone agrees. The Chaplin buns, the bun are hard and dry not soft, seems old and rushed heating up. The chicken yakisoba is using the wrong noodle, it was too soft and too sweet, it’s not the correct yakisoba. The fried chicken is probably the most edible appetizer out there that taste decent. The ramen is about the only main dish that is why people come to this place to eat, the noodle is fresh, broth is good. The chicken katsu curry tasted too sweet, the chicken wasn’t cut into the correct portion. I am not sure why so many things went wrong, it is the first time I came down here and in DC and this was the first place I picked for my family and it turned out to be a disappointment. People there doesn’t seems to happy working there and seems to be putting up a fake smile, also when I received my check the server told me the 20% tip was already added to my poor service and no where said that it would. This place I would not come back and not recommend, being a foodie and eaten many places all over the world, this place is just not it.

My first time at Chaplin’s and I loved it. My home girl kept telling me they have the best Ramen and I was skeptical but she was not lying. The food was really good. We split the Chaplin A.S.S. and shrimp gysoua. I also had ribs which were phenomenal, they went good with the Ramen as well. When I get back to DC I will be right there at Chaplin’s

This was such a great surprise! I was just hungry and walked by with my brother. I didn't think this was a Ramen house. The food was fantastic. The drinks were fantastic. We might have been there during happy hour.... but the prices were quite reasonable. 100% would return!
David W — Google review
Stopped in for early dinner after long day at conference. Was seated immediately on patio, that is very nice. Happy hour pricing on drinks, not food. Not sure if they have happy hour pricing on food for bar seating. Was set on the Payday dumplings based on reviews I had seen and because it looked so unique. Took recommendation of server and ordered the A.S.S. Maze with bok choy and corn. Payday dumplings were very interesting, especially with the table side injection of sauce. Flavor was good. The A.S.S. Maze was one of the best noodle dishes I have had. Rich broth with just the right heat and chicken was super tender. Would highly recommend!
Kenneth W — Google review
On a whirlwind trip to DC my daughter and I happened upon Chaplin‘s Restaurant. We were seated quickly and enjoyed our dumplings and edamame immensely! There’s plenty of inside and outside seating and the atmosphere is welcoming and friendly. Stop in and enjoy!
Michelle R — Google review
My homeboy and I went to Chaplins for dinner and sat at Jane’s bar upstairs. I’ve been going to Chaplin’s for a few years now, and Jane has always been my favorite bartender. I’m glad that she’s still there in addition to the awesome cocktails, frozen Tokyo Tea and spot on food menu. I finally tried out the Curry Ramen with Pork Belly, Ground Pork , over easy poached egg and it was excellent. Chaplin’s is a Great place to go to in Washington DC during any time of the evening. The ambiance at night is really nice and no matter how busy they are the noise level is at the norm where you can still hear yourself think and converse with your company. Cheers!!!!! 👍🏼

Definitely one of my new favorite restaurants. I got the Chaplin A.S.S. with corn and an eggs and this was easily one of the best ramens I’ve ever had. Full of flavor, perfect amount of spice, and broth is too good. Highly recommend. Service also top-notch; Andrew the bartender did a great job.

Chinese restaurant
Restaurant
Tiger Fork is a Chinese bistro located in a hidden alley in Washington DC, offering a unique dining experience with contemporary twists on traditional Hong Kong dishes. The menu, curated by Manager Chef Nathan Beauchamp and Chef de Cuisine Jong Son, features modern takes on street food, dim sum, and classic Chinese cuisine with global influences. The restaurant emphasizes family-style dining and community experience. Guests can enjoy herb-infused cocktails alongside exceptional dishes like smashed cucumbers and bubble waffle with ice cream.
Hidden Gem in Chinatown – Tiger Fork My niece accidentally discovered Tiger Fork when I told her we were heading to Chinatown, and what a lucky find it was! At first, we couldn’t figure out exactly where it was located—there’s no big sign, and we had to guess based on the Chinese decor outside. A quick Google search confirmed we were at the right spot, though no one online really mentioned which building it was. Heads up: there's no on-site parking, but we found a spot on the side of the road nearby. As soon as we walked in, we saw they’ve earned Michelin recognition for three years—and after tasting the food, we know why. Every dish was packed with flavor and beautifully presented. The crispy pork was the standout: not what I expected, but absolutely delicious! Crispy on the outside, melt-in-your-mouth tender on the inside, and paired with an incredible sauce. The overall vibe of the restaurant is cool, unique, and modern with a twist of traditional. The staff was friendly and the service was great. We’re already planning our next visit. If you’re in the area, this place is a must-try. Highly recommend Tiger Fork!
Pand S — Google review
My wife and I have loved this place for years. The quality has remained consistent in all manners of the restaurant. Even with a chef change, the menu is still great. Our only wish is that the cheung fun would come back. That dish was on the menu back in 2019 and we still talk about it to this day.
Austin C — Google review
Love the alley location. Beautiful space. The flavors are very strong, maybe even overpowering in some cases. Although the noodles with mushrooms were oddly bland. The crispy eggplant was overly fried for my taste. My dinner companions loved it, though. Everything else was really good!
Philippa H — Google review
I’ve only sat at the bar here, but it’s always a good time. Service is quick, and the drinks are strong, flavorful, and have a fun Chinese twist to them. The food isn’t super authentic, but it’s definitely tasty. It’s a great spot to grab a few drinks and snacks before heading out for the night.
Jennifer L — Google review
We went for a fun double date. The vibes were great, loved my cocktail. The service was timely and friendly. The food was good overall but didn’t really wow me. It’s really solid Chinese food!
Meredith A — Google review
The food is outstanding! We had pork, duck, green beans and combo fried rice dishes to share. The only two complains I have are: the chopsticks - they're plastic (I prefer wood or bamboo) that makes them too slippery; the music - contemporary pop and somewhat loud.
Alisa K — Google review
Great food and cocktails, menu is best to share, pick some of the smaller plates and one main. Great cocktails
George J — Google review
We went here for our second trip to DC. I've really wanted to go since the last time we were here and saw the YouTube video. We got the brisket chow fun. It was good. The fat could've been trimmed off the meat, and it would have been better in smaller pieces but the taste was delicious. Hard to eat the large pieces and cut fat when all you get is a spoon and chopsticks. We also got the monkey bread to split and I guess it's just the southerner in me but it was just ok. The bread was kind of stiff and it seemed like a bougie attempt at what should be a comfort food dessert. The place wasn't bad but it was one and done for us. A few tips: The door is super heavy and hard to open - Pull hard. Like really hard If you can't use chopsticks you will starve. Weird how it's called tiger fork but there is no fork in sight. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Ramen restaurant
Menya Hosaki is a cozy spot in Petworth, DC, offering outdoor seating and a menu featuring Japanese fried chicken, ramen noodles, beer, and sake. The restaurant has gained popularity for its open kitchen serving only ramen dishes alongside karaage with yuzu mayo. Customers rave about the house-made noodles paired with flavorful broths like tonkotsu, chicken chintan, and dashi.
I have been going to Menya since the pandemic and it has become my favorite spot for Japanese Ramen. I would recommend getting the Tonkotsu for first timers. The broth is very deep and full of flavor. All the toppings compliment the dish. The pork chasu is really tender and has a smoky taste. You can order extra noodles. Another favorite of mine is the chicken karaage. Served with a lemon mayo and a hint of spice. The meat is super tender and served hot. Crispy on the outside and moist inside. It has become increasingly harder to visit due to the increasing popularity of the business. There have been times where I came a little after open, but the waitlist was full and they were already sold out. They are open Tuesdays during lunch only. Otherwise other hours are Wed-Friday. Good to see them getting so much love from the DMV community and I wish the best for them going forwards.
Se C — Google review
I'm vegetarian/vegan depending on the day. I ordered their veg tan tan and thought it was good. The noodles were the best ramen noodles I've ever had. I also enjoyed kikurage (woodear mushrooms), and the soft-boiled egg had great texture and flavor. The broth was a solid 4 stars, but I've had a slightly more tasty broth at another ramen spot in Bethesda. A friend ordered the triple threat and loved it. Overall, I highly recommend and would definitely come back! I get why there is always a long line for this restaurant. Very worthwhile!
Liz A — Google review
If you see people waiting in line, be sure to check in at the counter first. Today I ordered the Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen, which uses their house-made chili paste. The chashu had a perfect balance of lean and fat—I really don’t like it when there’s too much fat. The broth, the heart of the bowl, had a rich, slightly sticky texture that made it absolutely perfect! The ramen had great layers of flavor: the first sip gave me the pure tonkotsu taste, while the saltiness revealed itself more in the mid-to-lower notes. Don’t miss the karaage either—the chicken was tender and juicy! Since it’s seasoned well, it tasted delicious even without dipping sauce. Definitely a place I’ll revisit. I hope they come out with a limited-edition ramen someday!

Food: 9.5 out of 10 Service: 4.5 out of 5 Atmosphere: 5 out of 5 Price/Value: 4.5 out of 5 Overall: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.7 out of 5 Recommendations: Truffle Shoyu, Triple Threat, Chicken Karage This is probably the best ramen place I’ve been to in the U.S. The place is kind of small, but trust me the wait is worth it. They have truly incredible ramen that will make me miss them so much after I leave D.C. If you prefer lighter broth I recommend the truffle shoyu, if you prefer richer broth I recommend the triple threat. They are both so delicious. Every component of the ramen is perfect, and when they combine all you feel is happiness. The chicken karage is very good too, the portion is huge and it’s not that expensive. I’m so happy that I discovered this treasure place, and I will DEFINITELY visit again! Best food I’ve had in D.C.
Song T — Google review
The best ramen of my life! I had to sign up and wait for about an hour, but it was absolutely worth it. While waiting, we grabbed a beer at one of the bars nearby, which made the time fly by. We ordered the chicken karaage and the spice tonkotsu to share, and honestly, it was the best ramen in the world — the broth was rich and flavorful, the noodles perfectly cooked, and everything was beautifully balanced. On top of that, the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. I would come back a thousand times!
María V — Google review
My experience was a lunch on Tuesday morning. Recount Arrive 30mins before opening and got on the waitlist(21st) to dine for lunch. The exact waiting time till we got in the restaurant was an hour and 45mins. Personally I do not mind waiting however just to caution people on the long wait. Soup Chicken pork base, similar to a lighter tonkotsu that’s very flavourful but basic. Definitely hits the spot for ramen craving however would expect a little more personality. Condiments A side of chilli paste and garlic was given to enhance the flavour of the soup which is a good touch, not much heat with a tad of sweetness to the soup. However, don’t elevate the soup as much as it should. Noodles Classic straight noodles with a nice firmness to it. Nothing to complain but would prefer it to have more curl so that it carries more soup as you slurp. Garnish Simple spinach, scallions and seaweed. Charshu was mild flavoured decent pair but makes you wonder if charring before service would enhance it? Overall Good bowl of ramen that’s really common to get in Asia, probably classic and nothing special. However you question, is it worth the wait for a single item menu? Less than 50 covers before us, around 30 seats per service and yet still have to wait 15-20 mins after our order was made to arrive. Ramen is all about efficiency, so is it worth the 2 hours ++ for it? You decide.
Ian C — Google review
Very cute place and the staff was friendly! Unfortunately, my soup was all oil and water and was not spicy at all - I could not get past 2 bites. It looked way better than it tasted which was unfortunate because I’ve only heard great reviews from others! Also docking stars for the service because we did wait 35-40 minutes for our soup, on top of an hour and a half wait (we went on a Friday at 6pm - 4 people). the chicken app really good. I have had better ramen in the DMV area :/
Rehanna B — Google review
Just wow. You have to time it right since there isn't an online option to reserve a seat but it's worth the waitlist to get into this spot. Insanely good ramen- from the noodles to the pork to the broth. Each part was spectacularly well done and made me want to keep eating. The karaage was also delicious. I hadn't expected such a large portion for an appetizer! There was even enough chicken to bring back home even though a couple of us snacked on it. Now the vibes- such a lovely minimalist setup.

DAIKAYA is a Japanese noodle soup spot located behind the Gallery Place movie theater. The casual and funky atmosphere with yellow and blue walls creates a unique dining experience. The upstairs izakaya offers inventive drinks and surprising small plates, including burrata salad and Old Bay seasoning. Known for its Sapporo-style ramen, DAIKAYA takes authenticity seriously by importing noodles from Japan and crafting nuanced Chintan stock that takes over 16 hours to make.
The food was absolutely delicious! The bean sprouts cooked with the meat is genius! I enjoyed it so much! And the open kitchen concept to watch how your food is prepared made it all taste better in a weird way. I will recommend and to this place without a doubt. Everything was on point. Lovely keep it up!

Daikaya Ramen Shop was a cool spot to go to for a short weekend trip. I was told this was the place to go and one of the best ramen places to must try when exploring Washington, DC. I had the Shio ramen. I wanted to give it a try especially because the broth is prepped for many hours and once served, it is as delicious with all ingredients. The ramen was fresh amd soft, it was my first time tasting Brussels sprouts in ramen and I didn't mind it at all. We ordered the spring rolls as an appetizer. It was served with a habanero sauce on the side. Diving into our ramen and getting full from other, I almost forgot to try the spring rolls. The restaurant was small, spacious enough for small groups or options to sit across the table with other customers. The way it us set up, it gives it a hip and savvy vibe. Our waitress was friendly too. Thank you for the delicious ramen and service. What a great ramen joint to try at our first DC place to eat.

Absolutely great ramen spot. Welcoming staff made us feel right at home—even with four kids in tow. Loved the cozy group table in the back and the fresh, modern vibe throughout. The broth was the star. We tried the shoyu, miso, and veggie tomato curry—all rich, flavorful, and totally hit the spot. The charsu and ground pork were top notch, the egg was perfect, and I loved the wok-charred onions and veggies in the veggie bowl. Imported noodles had that ideal texture and chew.

Good ramen place near the concert stadium My friends and I went there an hour before the concert and it was pretty crowded (sunday). We didn't wait though. We got the big table inside. It was very eccentric with photos and designs on the wall. It could be a cozy place for couples to come. I had spicy miso which was pretty good. Not that spicy though but just enough to my liking. I want to try the cold noodle next time.
Hye L — Google review
Disappointed with my experience at Daikaya. Our host and waiter did not seem happy to be there and we were provided with the absolute bare minimum service. While I appreciate getting a pitcher of water for the table, this opens the door for your server to not check in with you at all during your meal. And yes our server just stopped by to take our order, drop food off, and give the check. I could barely them when they spoke to us and it set the tone for the meal I was about to receive. I ordered the shoyu ramen. Nothing remarkable about it. Broth was disappointingly bland and it seemed like there were more bean sprouts than noodles in my bowl. Could hardly taste the ground pork. The menu says all bowls of ramen come with chashu and ground pork, and the chashu was missing. It was a really disappointing bowl of ramen. I wanted to ask our server for some chili oil or some of the aromatic add-ons from the menu and about the missing chashu but since we were seated outside, that window of opportunity was limited. I’ll mention that the broth of the spicy miso was more flavorful and in hindsight should have ordered this one. I can’t comment on the atmosphere of the restaurant as we were outside and mostly listening to the sound of fire trucks and ambulances with their sirens zoom by. Very unlikely I’d recommend this place to a friend.

Had a good experience. The service was great. I especially loved the yuzu lemonade. We tried the spicy sesame noodles, which is a soupless-based cold noodles. First time having a cold noodle so it was new but it was good.

Amazing ramen, chashou is not my type so 4 stars. But it's one of the best ramen I have ever had in the States. Recommend to try Mugi miso ramen.

I had the spicy miso ramen, and it was so rich and so delicious. The chasu melted in my mouth and I had to get another portion of it. The service was also impeccable. The restaurant is pretty small, but I like the vibe of everyone sitting across from each other at two long tables. Will definitely visit again!

New Big Wong is a casual Chinese restaurant located in DC's Chinatown, offering a wide range of classic Chinese dishes for both dine-in and carryout. The chef, Kevin Tien, frequents the restaurant for their pan-fried dumplings when he's not busy at his own spots. Despite some negative reviews, visitors have found the food to be impressive, with recommendations for dishes like beef chow fun and egg drop soup.
Place is amazing. Anytime we get to DC we hit up this joint (usually late night after game concert) open til 3AM on weekends. Totally authentic native cuisine. Just Do It
Doug D — Google review
This hole in the wall of a place in DC Chinatown has been around forever. The prices of everything on the menu is high although the food itself was average to slightly above average...the pricing is still higher than it should have been the ambience of the restaurant and the cleanliness. It is your typical casual Chinese restaurant, so service is not exceptional. Mongolian beef was pretty tasty, salt pepper shrimp was very good, fried tofu with veggies was pleasantly delicious. It had bok choy, Chinese broccoli, carrots, and mushrooms. Flavor is light and tasty. Combination fried rice was okay which had chicken and pork pieces that didn't taste that fresh. They open until 3am, so this place is a great place to get Chinese food late after games, shows, etc. in DC. 18%tip is already added to your check so you don't need to add additional tip. Overall, this place has decent Chinese food in DC Chinatown, pricey, but fast food for late night outings since they stay open very late.
Thu-Nga M — Google review
The food was okay but overpriced. Basic rice noodles cost $25 and there is an automatic 18% gratuity fee. There were some flies hovering around too. I liked the food but a plate of rice noodles should not cost $25 anywhere. The area itself is sketchy and feels like a whole different DC

Sweet and Sour Pork, it was really tough and few veggies, sauce was OK, soup was OK, ordered a coke (which was the best item at dinner) and waitress dropped off a can with a straw, had to ask for a glass, never checked to see if I needed anything and no smiles until the bill arrived, need to work on customer service, bare minimum would suffice, ate only about a third of the food shown in pictures because each chunk was a tough chewy surprise or fat

Planned on dim sum but ended up here. It’s been around for about 30 years. It was nostalgia for my bf who used to come here late at night years ago. Wasn’t what we had planned on but everything was so good! Service was very good. Not so much on the atmosphere but we could live with that!

Small, lowkey & nothing fancy but packs a mighty punch on their dishes! Hidden, in the basement of a chinatown business front...is New Big Wong. It’s been around in downtown DC like forever! Be careful when driving are looking for this place because .... one blank of an eye while driving down the H Street Chinatown area, you might miss it. It’s just that in assuming… especially at night. lol. The food is delicious and the prices are very good. The portions are big here too..... not to mention the meats & vegetables used are always fresh. My go to and one dish that is always on realest and that this restaurant is famous for is the “Dry Scallop Fried Rice” dish! It's one of the best. It comes in one size and is loaded with shrimp scallops crab meat ....& lot of flavor! The Peking Duck dish is another favorite of mine from this restaurant as well. On any given day, you will find the restaurant pretty crowded which is a good sign, but both carryout and dine in available if ever in the area. This restaurant tends to get a lot of Uber eats DoorDash orders I noticed as well. I definitely recommend if you're looking for authentic Cantonese cuisine and good Hong Kong fare..... that is on an American-Asian carryout vibe ..... This is your place! Most meals are roughly around $15 to $20 and the servings are huge. Worth every penny.... Go here and thank me later!

The menu is extensive and the food is delicious. If you have a problem with the service you can always get carry out or delivery. Personally, I found it delightful!

HORRIBLE. I asked for seafood noodles NOT deep fried noodles with seafood on the side. Super pricey and expensive, 50 dollars for beef and noodles? It tasted disgusting and the sides were super salty and gross. Threw away the leftovers, never ever coming back again would rather starve. 🤮

Sakuramen Ramen Bar is a popular basement-level spot in Washington D.C. where noodle enthusiasts can customize their soup bowls at a communal table. Visitors have raved about the flavorful and customizable ramen options, such as the DC ramen, tonkotsu red, and Shoki bowl. The restaurant is known for its rich and delicious broth, perfectly cooked noodles, and reasonably priced gyoza.
Delicious ramen, the pork was really good, wish the ribeye wasn’t minced. The buns were also yum and so was the mochi icecream, would recommend

Really friendly service and the ramen was great. I got yuzu tea (I would highly recommend) and also the spicy miso with some additional proteins. The portion size is good (enough for leftovers) and every ingredient was perfectly cooked.

After getting turned away at The Ramen Shop we headed for our second choice, Sakuramen! After finding parking in the lot a few doors down, we ventured out to find the restaurant as our navigation told us we were 200 ft away. Look down! Sakuramen is on the lower level, down a few steps. It’s small, cozy and with tables and 1 large communal table. The ramen is amazing! We did not have appetizers, but did I mention the ramen was amazing! Just go! Finding the spot is part of the journey! We have enjoyed ramen all over the city and this is my favorite so far!!!! Go, find it, slurp and eat!!!!
Leslie J — Google review
Bruh, like... delish! I lived in Japan for a handful of years and I think this is the best ramen I have had in the states - I got the Tonkotsu Mild. The broth was on point, extremely flavorful. Noodles had a fresh/home made texture to them and were slightly al dente 😋. In a lot of Japanese ramen joints you can customize the noodle firmness and I would always get "firm". The pork was a little fatty, but I didn't even care because of the deep flavor and crazy tenderness. If you could only eat here by joining their back alley fight club then I would have to throw down and get a couple black eyes. I'm only in town for a few days but I'm for sure going to try to make a detour to come back here.

[ Bought ] - Tonkotsu mild w/ corn - DC miso The tonkotsu was warm and filling. The broth had a wonderful richness that was broken up by bright bites of the green onion and sweetness of corn. The noodles had an amazing bounce and chew to them while still being slurpable if that’s what you prefer! The chasu was so soft and melted right in your mouth. The dc miso had a bright stocky flavor to it that felt refreshing with the heat outside. The cheese and noodles gave these rich soft bites that were so enjoyable too. [ Service ] Staff were lovely! They let us enjoy our date night and came over to take care things easy peasy. [ Notes ] Great music. Nice use of the space. Definitely don’t recommend coming with a party bigger than 2~4 people max. They have a communal table if you’re coming in solo which is nice. Overall, 10/10 would recommend and come again if I’m ever in the area.

Sakuramen is hands-down my favorite ramen spot in the DMV. The broth is incredibly rich and bursting with flavor, striking the perfect balance of savory and comforting. The portions are generous, leaving you fully satisfied. I love bulgogi and kimchi so I decided to try the Chosun ramen for the first time, and it was an absolute delight—perfectly blending those bold, spicy, and tangy flavors. The ingredients are always fresh, the noodles have just the right chew. The staff is friendly and attentive, adding to the overall amazing experience. It’s everything I could ever want in a ramen bowl and more!

The pork belly in the ramen melted in my mouth. Level 7 spice is HOT, which is just what I wanted! This was such a laid back spot with exceptional service.

Had their Tonkatsu Red Ramen with level 8 spiciness. I'd highly recommended this spot for ramen especially if you are looking for something that is flavorful as well as spicy. They have 10 levels of spiciness. Not to forget the pork is well marinated, which literally melts in your mouth.

Dim sum restaurant
Restaurant
Da Hong Pao Restaurant and Bar is a vibrant spot located near Logan Circle, offering an extensive menu of classic Chinese dishes along with a full bar. It stands out as one of the best places in DC to enjoy delicious dim sum, featuring a wide variety of flavorful small plates such as salt and pepper squid, egg tart, and shumai.
I was craving for dim sum. This restaurant was closed to the hotel I stayed. It took me less than 10 minutes to drive there, but it took me 10 minutes to find a paid parking spot on the street. The restaurant was clean and the staff were friendly. There were quite a few choices for their dim sum menu. They also sell chinese roast duck. I selected the dim sum dishes from the menu. The food was tasteful and delicious.
Tony C — Google review
Pretty good dim sum, although I liked some dishes more than others. I was a fan of the spring rolls, shumai dumplings, and soup dumplings, but I didn’t really enjoy the pork buns. The prices are also pretty good. It’s about $5-8 per dim sum item. The service was also pretty quick too.
Christopher Y — Google review
Service: We stumbled on Da Hong Pao while exploring the area around lunchtime. The restaurant wasn’t too crowded, and we were seated right away. While the staff didn’t explain the menu in detail, it was straightforward enough to navigate, especially the dim sum section. Our food was brought out in a timely manner, and the overall service was smooth and efficient. Taste: We opted for a few items from the dim sum menu: the roast duck, pork dumplings, shu mai, and spring rolls. Each dish was flavorful, well-prepared, and tasted authentic. The dumplings were especially juicy and satisfying, and the duck had great texture and seasoning. Everything complemented each other well, and it was the perfect amount for two people looking for a light but tasty lunch. Ambiance: The space is casual yet inviting, with a traditional feel that’s great for both small and large groups. It’s clean and comfortable, with a steady flow of guests but never felt too loud or crowded during our visit. Overall Review: Da Hong Pao is a great spot for quality dim sum at fair prices. Whether you’re just stopping in for a few bites or coming with a bigger group, the menu has something for everyone. We’ll definitely be back to try more dishes next time!

Just In for dim sum that day ..which they have all day (that's great). You select on the menu vs carts...they were out of my shrimp rice crepe so I tried the pork . It was delicious as well. Kiddo got the shrimp dumplings and wonton soup which he enjoyed. Overall was very good..we would come back if ever in DC area again.

Da Hong Pao is hands down one of the best Chinese restaurants in DC, especially if you’re craving authentic dim sum. The variety is impressive—everything from sio mai and hacao to lotus leaf sticky rice, all served fresh and steaming. On top of the dimsum, they have a wide variety of food items to explore, and its amazing! The staff is efficient and polite, even during busy hours. The dining room is spacious and clean, with a traditional vibe that adds to the experience. Perfect for group brunches or family meals. Don’t skip the egg tarts—they’re phenomenal!

Solid dim sum and very consistent. We typically get it delivered on weekends and everything is always hot and fresh when it gets here. We've tried other places but keep reverting back here due to the consistency.

Large menu that is almost overwhelming. We made the mistake of ordering appetizers and mains together. It was all served at the same time. Some mains were cold by the time we finished the appetizers. Service was ok

Ramen restaurant
Bantam King is a vibrant ramen and fried chicken spot located in the bones of a former Burger King. The restaurant offers a funky setting with Pop Art decor that pays homage to its predecessor. Specializing in chicken-based ramen, Bantam King presents various broth options, with the clear chintan standing out as a limited yet remarkable choice. Additionally, their southern American-style fried chicken has gained popularity, served with fixings for an all-inclusive experience.
Always good stop when you need fried chicken and hot ramen. All dishes are chicken or veggies. Although I prefer my ramen with pork I love this place and always coming back for more miso broth. Fried chicken as appetizer is a fight at the table every time. I guess next time we need to get more instead of sharing :) Bring your appetite!

I recommend the Nashville Hot Chicken, it’s halal and it was one of the best pieces of chicken. Sweet, spicy and crispy on the outside, hot and tender on the inside the perfect blend. The classic Soup and noodles were alright, get u full but nothing too special, reason why I gave 4 stars.
Zarrar M — Google review
Bantam King’s chicken-based menu consists of ramen and fried chicken. While the ramen broth lacks the depth and richness of pork-based broth, the Shoyu ramen ($15 plus tax) is nonetheless hearty and filling. The gyoza (4 pieces for $6.75) comes in a mild chili sauce. The service is very efficient. The interior has the vibe of a diner.
Augusto P — Google review
Service can be a bit slow, but I think that could be a testament to their popularity. Even in off peak times, this place has happy diners. They have the crunchiest, most delicious fried chicken in the city, and the ramen slaps too. Don’t forget to try the gyoza too (it’s hard to go wrong with gyoza, but their sauce is pretty memorable).
Kelsey J — Google review
The food was phenomenal. I saw this place on TikTok and decided to give it a go. The fried chicken was delicious and moist. The spicy miso ramen with extra toppings was also amazing. The place was really busy when we arrived we waited about 20min because other people said it was worth the wait. The staff was really friendly and had great customer service skills especially during peak hours dealing with tons of requests.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Delicious halal ramen! The broth was rich and flavorful, and the toppings were super fresh. Great service and clean place — definitely coming back!

A bowl that’s more Yankee than Nippon, Yet hearty and warmly well-done. It’s not ramen’s deep flair, But still comfort is there, A soothing, straightforward run. For seekers of broth rich and bold, Daikaya’s the story you’re told. But this spot’s fair price, And soup that’s quite nice, Make value its true vein of gold.
Dan M — Google review
Food was delicious, with generous portions, great flavors, and excellent service. The dining space isn’t too large, so I imagine it can get busy. Most of the menu outside of the gyoza is halal or can be prepared halal (removing the wine spray for the ramen). The dark meat fried chicken plate was excellent! The rice with chicken drippings and butter was a nice touch! Overall, I would definitely come back!

Lucky Danger is a Chinese delivery concept that holds dumplings close to its heart, as they have a significant narrative in the owner's family history. The restaurant offers pan-seared pork dumplings with homemade wrappers, which are a perfect start to any takeout meal from Lucky Danger. Customers have been pleasantly surprised by their experience at Lucky Danger, finding the food to be of amazing quality and very affordable. The portions are generous, and the service is excellent.
My boyfriend and I ordered for the Meat OK! for 2-3 and the dumplings for delivery. First off, major props for the packaging! Everything was labeled; the bags and stickers were really cute. The food was also really good. The duck fried rice and crab Rangoon was particularly delicious. The greens could have used a bit more cooking, but were tasty. We loved that it included such a great variety of dishes and proteins (beef, chicken, shrimp, crab, veggies). The portions were good-sized; the two of us had plenty of leftovers.
Renee E — Google review
Decent place, but not stellar. The apps are a good deal, but the main dish is barely more food than an app. I'll have them again, but not going out of my way for it. Wontons we're the best. Nice packaging, so probably more about presentation & delivery than top quality.
Michael G — Google review
I really wanted to love this place; I have a huge soft spot for independent Asian restaurants. I leave this review with regret. Dumplings were deep fried, and a papaya cucumber salad had a heavy, mayo-based dressing. The braised shortrib was good. Chicken & mushroom dish was swimming in sauce, and the fried rice need to be fried harder. Our meal came with a side of white rice, which was apparently left out so long that when the server put the spoon in the bowl, the entire mass of rice was pushed out of the bowl. Rice is so easy to nail, just scoop it from the cooker right before the dishes come out! Also, killed 10 insects while eating, pictured. I acknowledge that most people despise bugs, but I'm not particularly sensitive to it. They were just sort of annoying to deal with while eating.
Gabe F — Google review
Quality of the food was surprisingly good and higher than my expectations! Ordered the family style Meat OK meal for two and there was plenty, plus leftovers for two people. Hope this becomes a permanent location - best Chinese and overall Asian restaurant in Pentagon Row in my opinion. Food is authentic and delicious, and cute branding is a plus. Update: Tried Lucky Danger a few more times since they’ve opened (3-4 times), and the quality seems to get worse each time. Getting burnt food seems to be a frequent occurrence, online ordering/timing seems to be very off, and some things like crab rangoons look like someone’s taken a lazy shortcut. See pics. Disappointing. They have potential but need quality control. One time pointed out our order of scallion pancakes was burnt, and they apologized and offered to remake the food but it was burnt yet again. Stopped giving the place chances.
Karin T — Google review
We got takeout and it was well-packaged, but I wasn't sure how authentic the food is. No major complaints, but also not something that was over the moon.
John K — Google review
Ashley Danita makes this place extra special, welcoming me so warmly! And even though I wasn’t seated in her section. I enjoyed the food, cocktail and great vibe.
Robin S — Google review
Not sure why there are some very negative reviews on here. We’ve ordered twice from here and each time the order is packed well, comes with cute stickers, and tastes fresh. Some food delivery apps have coupons for this place from time to time as well. I will say it is is a bit tough to find if picking up though. However, this place is definitely well above your average hole in the wall Chinese take out place.

Not good…I’d rather order from a local Chinese takeout that is family run. Place has gone downhill since Tim Ma has tried to expand. Lots of social media allure…food and quality not sufficient to pricing. Don’t even want to try the new full-service spot in DC that is all over my social media feed. The menu reflects the collaboration between chefs Scott Drewno and Danny Lee, featuring recipes that blend Korean flavors with Chinese dumpling techniques.
Do not sleep on this place, amazing! But come with a bunch of people so you can order a bunch of the menu to share. The spring roll was one of the best, killer brussel sprouts. The wings just play compared to it all. Get the chicken main, bulgogi was delicious. The cold noodles was good but not great. Had great cocktails as well. The dumplings were all quite delicious, go for any of them.

Went for dumpling happy hour on a whim when I was in the area. It was great! Decent prices ($5 for 3 medium sized dumplings), but the real benefit was the taste. I recommend trying each type of dumpling. Very saucy and crispy but perfectly cooked inside. There was only one other person there when I went around 4:30pm so no wait time either.

Dumpling happy hour from 3-6pm and plenty of additional delicious options. Loved having locally brewed beverage options and the blood orange gose was perfect on a steamy day. I am delighted to have a new go-to option in DuPont. It’s only two blocks from the Q St Metro stop, too.

Ordered takeout from here. Got the chicken fried rice which was really good! It had lovely chunks of bacon in there. I also tried the soup which was flavorful and a good amount of spicy. I’d probably go back and sit in the store. Portion sizes are worth the price!

Flavors were not subtle: very strong, definitely high on salt and sugar. Some of it had a slightly burning feeling in my throat. The fusion is fine but if you're not used to food that rich, it's a bit much on the body. Service was appalling, with the aloof waitress cleaning tables by spraying from a distance and splashing nearby customers. The very rusty staircase leading up to this place needs fixing soon. Bad acoustic, the place gets really noisy with just a few tables. All in all, I'd do take out but I don't enjoy being in there.

One thing that never disappoints is the Chiko dumpling hour. Their sauces are always to die for, dumplings are fresh, and drinks are delicious. Their spiked asian pear cooler is so delicious and super refreshing and combined with the chilled peanut noodles it is really the perfect summer meal. Also the stir fried rice cakes was so perfect and its just a really wonderful and vegetarian friendly spot I love to come back to.

Something for everyone can be found here. Great food and culture combine for this large indoor market. A large variety of different entrees, prepared food, market fresh items or sundries. A must visit if you're in DC. Kids friendly. Prices are reasonable. I'll stop by anytime I'm in the area.

Union market stands as one of the best food markets DC has to offer. Only competition I believe is Eastern market. Union offers a vibrant array of food and drinks and events. The video is from an Asian festival they held on the roof where local DC restaurants popped up stalls to offer their cuisine. Plethora of outdoor and indoor seating. Great for grabbing a bite for lunch, grabbing some fresh meat or fish, or an evening out with friends. It's an area I find myself coming back to again and again.

All-Purpose Shaw is a bustling Italian-American eatery known for its artisanal pizzas, antipasti, and wine. The pizzeria is renowned for its carefully crafted whole wheat dough and an array of classic and innovative pizza options such as chili-roasted corn with chili-lime aioli or truffle honey. Guests can kick off their meal with delectable garlic knots and indulge in desserts like tiramisu or freshly baked cookies paired with award-winning gelato from Dolcezza.
I love this place. The menu is full of classic pizzas and a few more interesting combos. The lil dippers are a fun addition for your pizza crusts - highly recommend that. My one critique is that everything could use a stronger sprinkle of salt. That said, the pizza and beers and tasty, and the service is friendly and quick. Great place for a slice!

Visited Washington for a week, and this place had the best pizza I’ve ever had hands down! The food was incredible, the service was top-notch, and the staff were super friendly and welcoming. What really stood out was they even had a separate oven dedicated to gluten-free pizzas, which was a huge plus. If you’re in town and love pizza, this spot is an absolute must-visit!

I had an overnight diversion in DC so took a chance on the All-purpose pizzeria. Absolutely amazing! Fresh ingredients and wonderful flavors in the Buona! Crust is excellent. Definitely a must for pizza in DC. I’ll order again!

All Purpose is some of the best pizza I ever had anywhere. A hidden gem, I go once a week. The happy hour/ pizza hour is an excellent deal as well, $7 wine and mini martinis AND $11 pizza! Are you kidding me ?!?!? My go to is the Bueno pizza, pepperoni and honey, and Cesar salad. Don’t sleep on the dippers, the parmesan dip is addictive. Also, make sure you check out the specials, they have great options sometimes like Hawaiian and BBQ chicken. There was also a Julep and Pomodoro (tomato liquor) cocktail that were delish and STRONG. Great service as well :) can’t wait until they bring the brussel sprouts back in the fall.

It really is the best Pizza in Shaw. Only one problem, it's the only pizza I've eaten in Shaw. Staff was amazing, food was even better! Pro tip: truffle dip your crust!

I'm properly obsessed with this place! Incredible food, an excellent wine collection, and GREAT service. Perfect middle-of-the-road pricing, for the quality of food and service it feels like a steal. I'm only visiting DC but I've already been here twice, and I know I'll come back when I visit the area again!

We ordered dinner here from DoorDash had it to and had it delivered to our hotel after the Marine Corps marathon this weekend. The food was delicious and the homemade cookie was to die for. But your real shining star is Aaron. He answered the phone when I called to make a special request for our DoorDash order. He was extremely kind, very helpful and accommodating. I mentioned my best friend ran the marathon that morning and he sent a sweet message on our bag. Overall, our experience was great, but Aaron made our day. We would recommend your pizza and your kind staff any day ❤️ thanks for feeding us

Peter Chang is a renowned Sichuan chef with a dedicated following, known for his magical cooking and signature dishes. With multiple restaurant kitchens across Virginia, he has garnered a reputation for his authentic Chinese cuisine. His Arlington outpost in the Lee Harrison Shopping Center offers an array of delectable dishes, including the famous scallion bubble pancakes and mala specialties that showcase his unique blend of flavors. The restaurant has become a go-to destination for those seeking an authentic and memorable dining experience in the area.
Nestled in a Virginia strip-mall the unassuming front hides some great Szechuan and Hunan style food. It’s certainly worth the visit. The numbing combination with glass noodles was also quite good, another 9/10 for that dish. The Peiking duck was excellent a 9/10 and I loved the delicate pancakes!! The Dry fried eggplant was very, very good, also a 9/10. The soup dumplings were good, not up to Joe Shanghai in New York City standards, but not bad. I would give them a 7/10 and the pork belly I would also give a 7/10. Both were good but other things on the menu are more with trying. Overall you should certainly put it in your list of places to try.

Wow. Came for lunch at weekend. Not too busy. They have an all you can eat finding but we decided to order a la carte and were blown away by the fried pig feet. Seems like it’s braised as usual then fried Roth lots of aromatics. Very interesting and truly delicious days. Their fried duck rice was really well done. Shrimp and veg was good but not spectacular like the others. Lions head meatballs were also good but a little different. Will need to come for their AYCA dim sum!

This is my 3rd time eating from Peter Chang. Ordered for delivery. I ordered Combination Lo Mein (spicy level 1) and Chicken Fried Rice for dinner. Both my other half and I LOVED every bit of Lo Mein (even though it wasn't spicy) and Fried Rice. Peter Chang will be our #1 chinese place in the area!

Although it seems like quite a simple restaurant, we were pleasantly surprised by our experience here. There was no wait for a table, and we had good and attentive service. The food we ordered came in sizeable portions and everything was delicious, particularly the eggplant dish!

The food was a 4.5. It was pretty good but not perfect. The fish and lamb were very delicious but the cucumber was lacking in flavor. Pretty authentic Chinese food, coming back again 👍

2025 update: our favorite comfort food in the DMV. Great portions and great flavors. Don't miss it! Ever since I went to China and fell in love with (authentic) Chinese cuisine, I've been looking for a place that has comparable food. This is it for the Northern Virginia/DC area, I think! We ordered a handful of appetizers and dishes and every single one was delicious. From the spice levels to the Sichuan numbing powder to the deep, rich, authentic Chinese flavors and spices, I'll absolutely be coming back (probably more than I should, if I'm being honest). Portion sizes are excellent - you get twice as much food for a $20 plate than you would at any place in DC for the same price. Amazing experience! Staff was also very friendly and kind. EDIT: Visited again. Food just as good. Service just as kind and fast. Please send my regards to Peter Chang!!
Isaac S — Google review
While it may not have the greatest atmosphere or particularly special service, Peter Chang always serves up quality dishes at a favorable price point; the restaurant is clean, and, while a bit plain, still lends to a nice environment to eat at. The fried eggplant were crispy and delicious; the flavor of eggplant itself was very subtle, so even those who aren't fans of eggplant can like the dish; 5/5. The scallion pancakes were fantastic - and definitely not to be confused with Korean pajeon. They were massive, fluffy, thin and crispy breads, delicious enough to be devoured on their own, but especially so with the curry sauce served alongside it; 5/5. The bamboo flounder had soft, melty flesh with a nice crispy exterior; 5/5. We ordered a beef, shrimp, and shrimp/beef/chicken fried rice, which were all of equal quality - the only gripe was that they were all a little too salty; 4/5. The crazy beef ghost chili was flavorful, but pretty terrifyingly spicy - definitely not for those with low tolerance to heat. Even for me, it was a bit much, but that should be expected considering the name; 3/5. The vegetable spring rolls were plain; nothing outstanding, nothing terrible. 3/5. The golden mountain chicken had a good balance of sweet and sour, but it's too hard to eat a lot of it - just a personal preference thing; 3/5. Overall, a great place to come out for lunch, especially for delicious Sichuan cuisine at fair price points and relatively fast service. 2/4/23

This place is amazing. It has an ugly outward appearance and ugly chairs but their food... makes up for their not so aesthetically pleasing location and furniture. All their food is sooo good!!! That deep fried bread is magical. That spicy beef appetizer is also out of this world. Fried Eggplant is unbelievable, the spices are so yummy. The Grandma's noodles are sooo tasty too!! The restaurant JINYA Ramen Bar offers delicious ramen soup dishes with a wide range of ingredients and spices. The food is excellent, and the service is friendly. The restaurant has limited parking, but it's worth it for the high-quality food.
Hands down the best ramen I’ve ever had!! Rich, flavorful broth with just the right amount of heat and depth. The noodles had that perfect chewy bite, and every topping felt intentional. The gyoza were spot on: crispy, juicy, and full of flavor. But the real star? The pork bun. Soft, pillowy, and packed with that melt in your mouth pork!! Absolute Heaven!! Service was friendly and fast, and the vibe inside was warm and energetic without feeling rushed. JINYA definitely delivers on every level. A must try for ramen lovers!

Service is terrible, lacking in timeliness and accuracy. I had a reservation for a Birthday dinner party of seven 8:15 pm. The manager put an inexperienced server on a large party. Poor decision making skills. Paris , please start over, day one basic training. I mean, every mistake was made in the book. Appetizers took forever to come out. The Ramen took even longer to come out. Paris messed up Everybody's order at the table, double charged them, forgot food ordered in to go order, forgot food that was supposed to come to the table. Many of the things we ordered, didn't come out. They were never even rung in. She Kept mixing up lychee margaritas and lychee martinis wrong on the bill. Know the menu pay attention to detail . Multiple guests bills were wrong, multiple guests overcharged. Multiple Guests did not receive the items they ordered. It was a mess highly disappointed. The food is good, but the service is trash. I would not recommend for a large party. We waited over an hour for our Ramen to come out. The restaurant was closed by the time we even got our food. And why are y'all putting mixed greens at the bottom of the seaweed salad disgusting. The food is good, but the service is highly lacking, unprofessional, slow, and excessively error ridden. Furthermore, it was hot as hell. I'm not sure what was going on with the air-conditioning, but it was nonexistent very uncomfortable.

VISIT Sunday, July 20th: Had an AMAZING first experience at this restaurant! Every single bite was delicious. All of the dishes were hot, fresh and the ramen was the best we have had since moving from California. The African American young lady with braids who served us was pleasant and spot on! She made sure we didn't have to ask for refills or napkins. We sat upstairs near the windows and it was warm. We didn't feel any breeze in that area. Otherwise, no complaints!

As someone who’s had a lot of incredible Japanese ramen in Japan and Korea, this is very average. But authentic Japanese ramen is pretty hard to come by in DC, and this is definitely one of the better ones. Personally preferred the chicken ramen over the tonkotsu (I’ve tried both original and spicy), although having blanched spinach in it was somewhat strange to me, I think bamboo shoots would’ve been more of what’s expected from Japanese ramen, or a soft boiled egg…, or just the chicken pieces. While it’s not anything revolutionary, it’s a safe bet for DC
Jinhee P — Google review
Flavorful ramen!! And excellent service. I had a little mixup with my order (my fault) and our server Tiffany was patient and helpful in explaining the options. We asked to speak with the manager, still a bit confuzzled lol, and he was super helpful as well. Thanks guys!

Good food nothing exceptional. The Buffalo cauliflower was completely forgettable. The spicy chicken Ramen tasted off and not good at all. The rice chicken bowl tasted weird as well. The ground chicken on it was kind of gross. Overall, I don’t recommend it. It’s just an average cheap diner with a nice atmosphere.

The food was delicious, and our server was very accommodating. The music was a bit loud, which made having a conversation a tab bit difficult. However, overall, I would highly recommend eating at this location. Would also like to suggest reserving a table as this place can get crowded during the weekend.

Mala Tang is a vibrant dining destination that invites you to immerse yourself in the delightful experience of cooking your own Sichuan hot pot. Located in Virginia Square, this lively spot offers an inviting atmosphere where bubbling pots create a symphony of sounds as you choose between mild or spicy broth. Each diner can enjoy their own cauldron filled with simmering stock, allowing for a personalized culinary adventure.
Mala Tang was incredibly nice to donate some meals for a YMCA Arlington Tennis & Pickleball Center event and our members LOVED it! They will definitely be eating at Mala Tang again soon. Our meal came with a spicy chicken, ribs, rice and broccoli. Everything was seasoned perfectly and very tender. The YMCA will definitely be sending members and working with Mala Tang again in the future.

This is the most authentic Sichuan style cuisine I’ve ever tried , love the atmosphere and service there . I would 100 % recommend their dry pot and of course other dishes as well . They also have a combo hot pot option which comes with one individual pot . Highly recommended 👍👍👍👍👍

We really enjoyed our time, the staffs were friendly, good amount of people came in. & good vibes. Loved that they had a diy sauce bar for the hot pot. Really enjoyed the idea of single pot since usually we are more used to the unlimited versions of hot pot but this was a perfect one person serving. I thought I wouldn’t be full from it but man with rice and all the other goods. It was perfect match. My favorite sauce is- oyster sauce, peanut sauce, seasmi paste , soysauce , sesami oil, garlic. Fast service, I also highly recommend trying their mochi! Picby: @sallysemotion

Panda Gourmet is a low-key hotel restaurant that serves classic Szechuan cuisine along with vegetarian options and a full bar. It's known for its Sichuan delights, particularly the quality of its Sichuan chili oil, which offers depth and sweetness alongside a fiery kick. The steamed dumplings are generously coated in oil, sprinkled with sesame seeds and scallions, offering intense flavor.
Food was lovely! We really enjoyed the wood ear mushrooms, shangzi steamed cold noodles, the cubed fish and silken tofu-mapo style. The portions were generous and very fresh. The balance of heat and spice was perfect. We are so excited to return now that we know there is authentic Szechuan food in our neighborhood. Service was a bit cold, yet efficient.

This is the only Chinese food we get in DC! Every time we order take out we try to get something new to try their large menu. Some of our favorites include egg rolls, Szechuan chicken (pictured- tastes way better than it looks), dry braised chicken, double cooked pork, and steamed dumpling in red sauce. Everything is delicious!

My wife and I were on a long road trip and just wanted some Asian food. We ended up here. It’s very fushioned, which means some dishes felt pretty real, others were totally Americanized. We only came in because the price was cheap. But what we got was better than expected. Taste was a bit above average, not super special, but totally fine for what we paid. I’d say it’s about 80 to 90 percent authentic. Food came out super fast. I also want to say that the front lady did a great job too. She explained the menu well, gave honest advice, and was fast and smooth with everything. I’d say this is a solid stop if you want decent Asian food without spending much.
Eagle O — Google review
One of the most authentic Chinese restaurants in DC. The outside and location can be very deceiving but the food is very close to authentic, the service is extremely fast. You can expect your fish dish to come out within 5 minutes of ordering on a normal night. I highly recommend the cumin lamb, cold cucumber salad, and dan dan noodles!
Lucas H — Google review
Arrived too the dimly lit restaurant right after they opened. There were no other patrons. The hostess/waitress greeted us and brought us to a table right next to the hostess stand. My baby was asleep and I didn't appreciate how inconsiderate the waitress was when she was breaking ice and pouring water noisily. When ordering my husband asked me my opinion on whether or not he would like a particular dish. Maybe the waitress misunderstood but she answered the question abruptly probably not realizing the question was not for her. When our food arrived she had brought out the dish that was in question before even though we nver said we wanted it. Subsequently a dish which we ordered was left out. The food was okay. We had a few cold dishes: sliced pig 👂, wood ear, and century egg. For the main dishes we had sour cabbage fish soup and Mongolian Beef. Portions were all small except the soup. The beef was not tender and the soup lacked substance. I did not think any of the food was worth their costs but we were hungry and wanted to try something different and the food sufficed.
Mei-Ye W — Google review
I would not recommend sesame chicken, or the other similar style chicken dishes (general tsos, orange chicken etc.) the chunks of chicken thigh are cut way too large and not cooked thoroughly enough. I was very hungry but could not finish my food due to this. Also the chicken fried rice was bland.
Aidan B — Google review
This place was awesome! It was so good I came back the next night for another dinner here. The menu seemed to be mostly authentic Chinese food but there were a few American-Chinese options like sesame chicken. Definitely get the “Chinese Burger” Edit: I’ve returned to this restaurant about two years later because I remembered it being so good. Still amazing. I recommend it to anyone who visits DC.

Haikan is a stylish eatery with communal tables and a patio, offering Japanese noodle soups, light dishes, and cocktails. The restaurant's design is inspired by the connection between Japanese and Washington, D.C. design from the late 1950s to 1970s. It draws influence from Japan's Metabolism movement and D.C.'s Brutalism.
Great location, excellent service, delicious food, cheap cocktails, and great sized portions to get value for money. The ramen and donburi was amazing, but shout out to the baked avocado which was so different but an experience well worth getting.

Haikan has been a favorite for years! Ramen is so good, forgot to take a pic. The noodles are probably egg based but the best!! The broth is not too thick and the flavor is amazing. We ordered the spicy shoyu recently and so, delicious! We loved the cucumbers that came with the salmon donburi… so many flavors possibly wasabi, too!? If your diet allows crab Rangoon, don’t pass it up! Also, the music was a good vibe!

From the moment you walk in, you can tell this place takes their craft seriously. We ordered the Salmon bowl & spicy Shoyu Ramen. The broth is incredibly rich, silky and savory with tender handmade noodles that feel almost weightless on the tongue. Each sip is a bright, umami- Packed, and beautifully balanced. This Ramen shop is a must -Visit I’ll absolutely be back. Thank you chef!

This is one of the my favorite spots in DC! They have such good apps from the grilled avocado, pig ears to the smashed cucumber salad. They’re all texturally interesting and all of the flavors hit the perfect spot. The ramen is delicious my personal favorite is the Miso but you won’t be disappointed with the Shoyu either.

We planned to dine at Haikan before a show at the Lincoln Theatre. The experience was great! The servers were friendly and wanted to make sure our dietary needs were met (dairy and meat free!) - the veggie ramen was SO good. The broth was savory and didn't feel like I was missing something by choosing the vegan option. The atmosphere of the restaurant was fun and dynamic, it was buzzing but not too loud. Service was generally well paced and we really enjoyed our meal (also had smashed cucumbers and my husband had the fish taco appetizer). Highly recommend and hope we'll be back!
Allison S — Google review
A very outstanding establishment with extremely great people working for it and good food. Yesterday, I ordered a Miso Ramen bowl and it had to be the best that I had in my life. Having been to Japan before, I felt like I was there again after eating at Haikan. During my visit, I would find that they actually import their noodles from Sapporo in northern Japan. That explains the greatness. Also, I love the glazed vegetables appetizer as well. All around, Haikan is GREAT place. Easily, it is my favorite Japanese restaurant in the states.
S. H — Google review
Casual restaurant with a variety of ramen and rice bowl options. They do have vegetarian options too. I had the rice bowl with red snapper. It was served with cucumbers which I really enjoyed. The flavor profile of the bowl was really good, where you get sweetness from the sauce, and crunch and bitterness from the ginger. The scallion and coriander also add some freshness to the dish. The snapper is also delicious however the portion of the fish is really small. The service was good and the atmosphere was quite relaxed and casual, which would be an ideal place if you want to come with friends and chat over a quick meal.

This March, Yunnan by Potomac Noodle House opened its doors in North Old Town, bringing the rich flavors of Yunnan Province in China to Alexandria. Spearheaded by Dr. Zongmin Li, the restaurant's menu was crafted after a journey to southwest China where she and her team explored local culinary traditions and sampled authentic mixian rice noodles. These silky, gluten-free noodles serve as a delightful foundation for an array of comforting dishes featuring braised beef and shiitake mushrooms.
One of the best Asian meals I’ve had in a long time. The food was perfect. Nothing was too heavy, and the flavors all paired together nicely. The service was also great, checked in regularly but did not over check in. Prices were on the high side, but it’s an expensive area. On top of this you can tell they use good ingredients. To end it off we had the melon cheesecake which was fantastic. We will definitely be coming back.

Highly recommend this restaurant! From spectacular service to the taste and portion sizes were quite worth the money. I opted in for the unlimited option as I like to eat for two, and I got humbled quickly due to the very decent portion sizes per dish. Make sure to try the crispy pork belly bao buns, beef short rib dumplings, and the avocado toast. Ask for some chili oil on the side if you like your food a little hotter. (If you don’t like crazy amount of fat, do not get the BBQ Bao bun special — it’s got a lot of fat. If you’re a huge pork belly and BBQ fan, then you may enjoy it.) Service was phenomenal. Quick, accommodating, and always love the promptness.

The restaurant's decor is as impressive as its menu, with mismatched lanterns hanging from the ceiling and walls adorned with rainbow posters and shelves filled with toys and trinkets. Despite its small exterior, the interior opens up to a charming space filled with flowers and lights.
I love the menu at this place and can't wait to go back to try more dishes. I wasn't very hungry on my last visit so I just ordered the Dumpling Curry, Tofu Tempura, and Taro Milk Boba Tea. It was all delicious and I had enough leftovers for two more meals. I tried a piece of my friend's kale tempura (from the Galanga Ramen) and it was insanely good. I could have a bowl of just the kale. Not sure if they sell kale tempura separately but they should!

Incredible food, service, and atmosphere at oki bowl in Georgetown. There is very delicious and customizable ramen. The miso ramen was rich, and slightly sweet, when paired with the beef. Highly recommend with a side of chili oil!! The Tom Yum ramen was very spicy - with enormous shrimp - very yummy. This is a classic spot for ramen.

We ordered the unagi bowl and the spider tom yum. We hope the unagi bowl could come with a bit more side dishes. Overall, the food was decent, but not quite impressive enough to make us want to come back. The interior decor is very cute.

I was only a little hungry so I ordered 2 pork bao buns and they were really good! Definitely recommend. The servers were very attentive since I arrived. Cool vibe! Will be returning soon!

Run, don’t walk! Had my first ramen experience in the US, and it might have already set the bar. We ordered the Galanga Ramen (vegetarian) — it looked incredible, and that first bite of crispy kale? Next level. The portion was generous, easily enough for two people. We also tried their Thai Boba, which was delicious. A total value for money, highly recommend this spot — great flavors, great value!

Cute little shop in Georgetown. Classic, thick, rich Japanese ramen! I love the texture of the noodles. Wish the air conditioning was stronger

Queen’s English, located in Columbia Heights and run by the wife-and-husband team of Sarah Thompson and Henji Cheung, offers a unique dining experience that combines Cantonese cuisine with creative cocktails and natural wines. The menu features dishes like Drunken Duck Noodle and Crispy Whole Red Snapper, showcasing the chefs' Asian roots. The restaurant provides a highly personal touch to its offerings, ensuring an unforgettable culinary journey for diners.
Queen’s English: A Masterclass in Modern Cantonese, Served with Heart!! In a city saturated with ambitious restaurants, Queen’s English rises above—not with pretense, but with pure soul. Tucked into a vibrant, palm-lined corner of the neighborhood, this intimate gem from husband-and-wife team Henji Cheung and Sarah Thompson delivers an unforgettable symphony of Hong Kong cuisine, heritage, and hospitality. I dined with four friends, and we did what any sensible food lovers would do: we ordered everything on the menu and shared it family-style. Every single dish—not one exception—was a revelation. Chef Henji, whose culinary roots trace back to the New Territories of Hong Kong, brings childhood memories to life through wok-fired precision, nostalgic flavors, and wildly inventive texture play. He even came out to speak with us personally—a moment of warmth and humility that matched the night’s exceptional service. From the whisper of ginger and scallion in delicate seafood to bold punches of soy and chili, the menu walks a thrilling tightrope between tradition and innovation. You can taste the streets of Hong Kong and the finesse of New York kitchens in every bite. Each dish is layered, alive, and unapologetically fun. The vibe? Electric. Whether perched at the Chef’s Counter watching the kitchen and bartenders in motion, or lounging on the dog-friendly patio, Queen’s English makes you feel like a welcome guest at an elevated dinner party. Though we opted for casual dining indoors. It’s no exaggeration to say this is best-in-class dining—not just in D.C., but anywhere. Final verdict: Queen’s English isn’t just a meal. It’s a celebration—of culture, craft, family, and fearless flavor. Chef Henji and Sarah have created something truly magical, and if you’re lucky enough to get a table, prepare to be mesmerized. We were.

I really enjoyed Queens English. The outdoor seating sets the mood, creating great vibes, especially on those nice weather evenings in DC. There is nothing like it. Beyond the charming atmosphere, the food and service were both in my experience. For a memorable meal, I'd recommend the dumplings, the perfectly charred broccolini, and the drunken duck noodles.
Dondré — Google review
The special jumbo crab asparagus is great. Everything else , the truffle dumplings was not really a dumplings, more like mini salty meatball, the scallops crudo taste a little fishy/funny not in a good way, the duck drunken noodle was also mediocre disappointing. Overall all not worth the booking, atmosphere is chill but a little loud, no one really is dress like for a fine dining place fyi. We booked to sit at the bar in front of the chef but we immediately felt overwhelmed by the noise so we switched to a regular table. The staff was really nice able it. The worst part of our experience is that me and my partner both got the mocktails… not only it came in a metal can , it also tasted like a subpar soda that we felt scammed by paying $8 each for it.

Fancy, good meal! Some of the best Chinese food I’ve had. We sat at the chefs counter so we could see the action. Small, intimate vibes. Delicious food. Try the grilled octopus (even though it’s morally ambiguous). Dessert is not to be missed. Staff was super friendly and courteous. They comped a round of drinks for us because we were waiting a bit, though honestly didn’t feel that long.

This restaurant came highly recommended to me, but honestly, it didn't quite live up to the hype. Despite the $25 reservation fee, which is supposed to be refunded once you dine, the overall experience felt underwhelming. The food was good, with the standout dish being the truffle dumplings—definitely the highlight of the meal. The rest of the dishes were just okay. The interior had a nice, cozy vibe, and the bathroom was impressively clean. While it was a one-time experience, I don't think I would return.

Brought my in-laws here after seeing the James Beard Award nomination (best of luck btw!). The staff were very accommodating and friendly. We had a big dog with us and were able to have a cozy and comfortable dining experience on the patio amid high winds because it was covered and there were ample heaters. Food-wise, Queen's English is outstanding. I was most impressed by the truffle dumplings and charred broccolini, but everything we ate was flavorful and delicious. I believe we were served by Sarah Thompson herself and she recommended by mother-in-law a fabulous Chardonnay that she wouldn't stop raving about even after the meal. I personally recommend the Jade Scorpion green peppercorn pilsner. Came in on a Tuesday evening so we also had $8 martinis that were delicious. Their ice creams - toasted sesame with candied walnuts and chocolate-Szechuan pepper - were delightful too! Definitely returning, not only for these flavors but also for a great restaurant to spend quality time at.

I feel that calling this Hong Kong influenced is a bit of a stretch. I wasn’t really reminded of Cantonese cuisine except for maybe the use of Chinese sausage on the vegetables. The food overall was fine but probably wouldn’t return because it wasn’t anything noteworthy.

Friends who live in the area brought us here to DC Eater's July 2019 number one nominee on their Top 15 List. ATMOSPHERE: The cozy spot can dine about 35 souls. We got seated at the bay window, others dined at the bar and on low tops, with the kitchen in plain view to all. It got pretty smoky inside as the kitchen vents couldn't keep up with the chefs. MENU: Nothing British about this place with its arsenal filled with shareable, Asian-influenced dishes. BEVERAGE: Happy Valley - $13.00 My first whisky drink as I'm usually a vodka guy. Delish! Perfectly strong blend of sweet and citrusy. FOOD: Celtuce & Cucumber - $14.00 I couldn't find any celtuce (Chinese lettuce) in the dish, just lots of thinly-sliced cucumbers dressed in a light soy-vinegar sauce and topped with trout roe for a triple hit of freshness, salt and tang. Salt & Pepper Blowfish - $16.00, four pc. I'm sure this is a non-poisonous variety as there weren't any disclaimers on the menu. The small, headless fish were lightly battered, simply seasoned with salt, pepper and a sweet drizzle, with meat similar in texture to trout. The tails were crispy enough to eat too, and the only bone you'll find is the spine. Recommended. Chili Clams - $15.00 The clams were too small to be noticeable, so the majority of the dish seemed like ground pork with empty clam shells. Pass. Soy Braised Enoki Mushroom - $15.00 A pool of sweet and savory sauce enveloped each mushroom, topped with a poached egg and what I thought to be chicharron was actually a crispy tapioca. Mushroom lovers will rejoice. Sizzling Asparagus - $17.00 My least favorite of the night. The dish did not arrive sizzling, no biggie. Oddly, I couldn't detect any taste of asparagus in the mishmash of sweet and tangy flavors. Pass. Naked Dumpling - $14.00 Void of any shell, spongy cushions of mashed up seafood made for an unusual twist on the traditional potsticker, instead transforming it into fishcake. I passed on the spicy paste and ate it plain as it seemed overly hot by others reactions. I'll take a conventional dumpling and dipping sauce any day. Twice Cooked Lamb Rib - $16.00, 4 pc. Fork-tender, subtly seasoned and finished with a seared, black crust that was surprisingly not bitter. Daikon Fritters - $16.00 I had to taste the pork sung (meat product) topping separately as it looked so interesting, like dried moss on a rock. It tasted just like shredded beef jerky. The mashed up daikon could've passed for fishcake, with the radish's earthy notes marrying well with the creamy/oyster sauce drizzle. Recommended. Bok Choy - $14.00 Whatever the salty meat stir fried with the Chinese cabbage was, made the otherwise boring vegetable pop with life, creating an appetizing combination of flavors. Typhoon Shelter Shrimp - $22.00/five Definitely crunch on the legs and battered shell to garner the seasonings with every bite. Hand Cut Noodle - $21.00 I've never seen noodles with bi-colors of black and beige before, which is perhaps where the squid ink comes in. Bits of tender squid gave this dish subtle notes of ocean-y and savory. Recommended. Crispy Rice - $16.00 Easily my favorite dish of them all. Every grain of jasmine rice was coated in bold flavors of savory and char and enhanced with chicken, peas, catering and earthy shiitakes. Not your average fried rice. Highly recommended! DESSERT: The official name escaped my memory, but it was essentially Japanese-style mochi drizzled with caramel and dusted with sesame seeds and chopped peanuts. Gooey, sweet and nutty. SERVICE: Our waiter was very attentive, patient and professional. Drinks were never empty and we were checked on numerous times throughout our meal. TIP: No reservations are taken. We walked in without issue at 6:30p on a Tuesday night. OVERALL: Intimate menu, a bit pricey for the portion size. That crispy rice will be on my mind for a while!

Love, Makoto is a new Japanese food hall located in downtown D.C., featuring three different sit-down outposts and a fast-casual counter. The long red hallway, inspired by Kyoto's famous gates, leads visitors through the various facets of the establishment. Celebrity chef Makoto Okuwa, known for his restaurants across the country and the globe, initially landed in D.C. at Sushi Taro.
Beloved Barbecue at Love, Makoto is an amazing choice for a special occasion. My first birthday event of the year was a dinner date and he chose this restaurant. It went well only because of the amazing, professional staff and good food, because the date was a flop. I started with the oysters and a drink as I waited for him to get there. The oysters were amazing. Once he arrived I ordered the omakaze option. At the end they brought out a slice of very rich chocolate cake and snapped a Polaroid which was very sweet. I wish my back wasn't to the kitchen in my photos but I don't face the door when I'm with a gentleman. I want to make special mention of my waitress. I wish I wrote down her name for this review. She was excellent. She may have been the most professional waitress I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. She truly saved the experience for me. I will be back without the date.

Stopped at this location after the Rose blossoms Festival. Very walkable and nice atmosphere at this location. The food that was ordered was amazing. The fried chicken was tender and juicy, and all the dipping sauces were great with it. The sushi tasted fresh and very, very delicious. Very nice little bar to sit down and have a conversation with a few friends nice little atmosphere and a lot of other little restaurants and locations inside this location which made it very unique. Service was very good and attentive and felt like We were at the center of attention, even though the bar where we sat was very full. This place is a small plates place where you can order a bunch of different small plates and share with the table so definitely kind of convenient to try a lot of different things.

The experience really depends on which of the four restaurant areas you’re seated in. We chose the sushi section, and the staff gave us a very warm welcome — service was excellent. The food itself was tasty and nicely presented, though the atmosphere felt a bit inconsistent — Mexican music in a sushi restaurant was a bit unexpected and didn’t quite match the theme. While the quality was good, the portions were quite small for the price. We spent around $200 for two people (two hand rolls, two appetizers, twelve pieces of sushi, and bottled water), which felt excessive considering the overall experience. Some areas of the interior also reminded us more of a casual fast-food setup than a Japanese dining environment. Overall, good flavors and friendly service, but not the best value for money.

I recently celebrated my birthday at Love, Makoto, and it was an exceptional experience. My girlfriend made the reservation, and we both enjoyed the Today’s Omakase, which was absolutely delicious from start to finish. The entire team was incredibly kind and professional, making our service outstanding. They even surprised me with a special birthday dessert and took a photo of us, which they presented in a custom-made card—a thoughtful touch that made the evening unforgettable. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience, and I highly recommend Love, Makoto to anyone looking for a refined and memorable Japanese steakhouse experience.

I went for lunch and had the Omakase Express at Love, Makoto and wow — every bite was amazing! 🍣 It’s such a fun way to taste a variety of their food. I also had the Zero Proof Kabosu Colada, which was super refreshing and so delicious. Highly recommend this spot — 200% worth it! Robin and Brittany were kind and very knowledgeable about all menus. Everything else now is plastic. This place makes me question everything. Did I even have ginger or wasabi til now? I had the omakase… and super sized it. If you have any doubts and are wearing stretchy pants, do it! Super-size it. It’s so fresh and love the way you are to eat the sushi old school, then new school of each type of sushi. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for an experience.

Authentic Japanese restaurant
Hanabi Ramen is a modern eatery in the Clarendon neighborhood of Arlington, offering Japanese noodle soups and dumplings. Established in 2017, it serves traditional ramen soups as well as tsukemen, where noodles are served separately for dipping. The menu features Champon ramen with a unique pork and scallop broth.
I stopped by when it wasn’t too crowded, and we didn’t have to wait long to be seated. I ordered the unagi, tonkotsu ramen with extra noodles, and miso salmon. The miso salmon was outstanding — perfectly cooked with a rich, savory flavor that really stood out. The unagi had a pleasant saltiness, with a soft, delicate texture that was very enjoyable. The star of the meal was the tonkotsu ramen. The broth was deeply flavorful and comforting, and the noodles had the perfect texture. It felt like a truly unique, well-crafted bowl of ramen. I’d definitely return for another meal here.

Among the food I tried, my favorites are salmon teriyaki bento, chicken karage, chicken karage don, seaweed salad, miso soup, and shrimp tempura. And all of their "don" rice menu are delicious. The restaurant has their signature sauce made from scratch which enhances the flavor. It is amazing. Personally, I wasn't a big fan of their tonkotsu ramen, seafood bento, and chasu fried rice. Service is good. It's a small restaurant with the great atmosphere to dine in alone or with friends. P.s. I have to add another great dish I recently had; yakisoba was amazing.

Ramen is by far my favorite Japanese restaurant. It’s a small place, but very warm and cozy—you can really feel how much care the owner puts into running it. The décor is filled with authentic Japanese touches, and the atmosphere makes you feel like you’re eating at home with family. The staff are always friendly and welcoming, which makes the whole experience even better. The food is excellent with so many choices. Their signature dishes are the different varieties of ramen, which are always delicious. But my personal favorite is their Saba Miso Bento Box—I highly recommend trying it if you visit. Besides bento, they also serve great appetizers, udon, rice bowl, curry, and other traditional Japanese dishes. And don’t skip dessert! They have wonderful Japanese sweets like dorayaki, taiyaki, matcha cheesecake. What I love most is the consistency. I’ve been coming here for almost three years, usually once or twice a month, and every meal has been just as tasty as the last. Never once have I been disappointed. If you’re looking for authentic, comforting Japanese food with a warm atmosphere, this is the spot. Highly recommend!

Hanabi Ramen is a solid spot for ramen lovers. The ramen was excellent—rich broth, great noodles, and well-balanced flavors. Their appetizers were good, though not particularly standout. The service was attentive and friendly, and while the seating area is relatively small, it adds to the cozy and casual atmosphere.

One of the best ramen in town. The place feels you in Japanese atmosphere and culture. Servers are really friendly and kind. There are variety of local food options but ramens and taiyaki which is Japanese cake dessert are fabulous.

One of my favorite restaurants in the Clarendon area. You can’t go wrong ordering one their bento boxes - I prefer the Pork Katsu or the Chicken Karaage. Both are delicious. And their hot green tea has a deep, comforting flavor. Try it!
Jack D — Google review
This is an authentic Japanese restaurant that serves ramen and other unique dishes prepared in a traditional way. Their ramen is scrumptious; crunchy vegetables, well-seasoned, not-overly salty broth and flavorful noodles. I highly recommend their vegetarian ramen that includes kale noodles. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and the service is top-notch. My only criticism was that I found it difficult to find a ramen dish that didn't include a fried protein. I would love to see a grilled chicken ramen option in the future.

Walked from my hotel - Residence Inn by Marriott Courthouse. Small but cozy restaurant. The staff was extremely courteous. Which is typical of the Japanese culture. The furniture is pretty basic. Ordered some appetizers to start with... Spicy Edamame, Seaweed Salad and some fried chicken. The Spicy Ramen for the main course was finger licking good. My daughter ordered the Vegetarian Ramen which was good as well. Small restaurants like this serve up authentic or close to authentic food. Would definitely return back.

Restaurant
Han Palace-Woodley Park is a contemporary Chinese restaurant located in DC, offering a variety of dishes including dim sum, seafood, and meat entrees. While the restaurant does not accept reservations and there may be a wait for a table, the delicious food makes it worth it. The orange chicken, garlic Chinese broccoli, Mongolian beef, and seafood fried rice are highly recommended by visitors. The ambiance is enhanced by faux trees and beautiful decor at the entrance.
Absolutely delicious. Party of three and had no wait time in the early afternoon of a breezy Sunday in February. The place was certainly packed, and there was a larger party waiting to be sat— so maybe we got a bit lucky. Our group shared an order of Soup Dumpling, Singapore Noodles, and Orange Chicken. It was the perfect portions for the three of us, and we finished off with some green tea. The workers were very friendly, and didn’t feel like they rushed us too much— checking in every so often to see how our food and experience was. Definitely recommend. And right down the street from the Smithsonian Zoo 🐼👌
Kyle M — Google review
If you’re doing bottomless dim sum this place is worth it. Do not do delivery though. I ordered through seamless and they added one or two dollars to every item on the menu compared to pick up. In addition to that there is a service and delivery fee. On top of this they did not include the dipping sauces and the portions are very small. If you’re at the restaurant it would be fine, and you’ll pay less money. The dumplings I had so far were over cooked. The filling ended up watered down. The flavors were all there though. The only thing good were the purple dessert buns. The scallion pancakes were over fried but tasty. Do not order for delivery or take out. They change the price based on where you order from by adding a couple dollars per item and the food does not travel well. I won’t be ordering again.

I’m really disappointed, I was debating between georgetown location and this, but this was rated higher so I chose this one. First thing when entering, they sat us down but attitude was rude, the lady gave us like 30 secs and asked if we’re ready when we said we needed more time they rolled their eyes and be like ok 1 min. When we placed our orders, it the pork and shrimp came quickly but think they forgot our other orders. They also weren’t checking our tables to see if we needed anything, we were trying for a very long time to get their attention. Regarding food, the shrimp dumpling was a small portion, and it tasted really bad, it’s obviously the ones that are frozen that you get from a supermarket and steam it, I’ve bought one of those and this is identical, I could’ve just gotten a pack of 16 for the same price compared to the 3 pieces they gave me. PLEASE dont get it, the peking duck was really dry and seemed like it was sitting out there for a bit, I think the lower ranked georgetown location duck was better, but ive had better and this is probably one of the worst ducks I’ve had. Looks are deceiving, it’s very pretty but doesn’t taste good. Also got mapo tofu, it’s literally hot and sour soup and then added some tofu, not true mapo tofu, have had better. The taro mightve been the best thing. But in general rude neglected service, poor food quality, each item disappointed us more and more, don’t understand why it’s rated so high. Would not come back no recommend, overhyped.

I came from the zoo and wanted to sit down for some lunch. We got the Peking Duck and we’re not disappointed. Order a hot tea, the tea service is beautiful. I’ve never not given a tip when dining out, but this was the first time. We waited for almost two hours without anyone informing us about the delay. I’ve been to other branches and they were fine, but this one was really disappointing ,both the staff and the food.

The first time I had the soup dumplings, they were wonderful. The best I’ve ever had. Such perfect ratio of thin dough to soup to meat ratio. I’ve come here 2 more times after to order them, but each time I was disappointed. Almost no soup. Crispy eggplant was wayyyyyy too crispy & was mostly batter. Pork & bean curd rolls were made perfectly! We got the soup dumplings (~$12), braised pork (~$16), bean curd with oyster sauce (~$5.5), and crispy eggplant. They also have outdoor seating.

Yu Noodles is a local Chinese restaurant known for its authentic flavors and exceptional service. The highlight of the menu is their renowned soup dumplings, which are described as the best in town. Each dumpling contains rich, savory broth and tender meat encased in a delicate, steamed wrapper. In addition to the dumplings, the menu offers a variety of fresh and delicious options such as fluffy steamed buns with juicy pork filling.
It’s absolutely a hidden gem with authentic Chinese cuisines. Their Soup Dumplings-XiaoLongBao was the best I had ever try in the area, highly recommended. Their noodles soups were super good too. Like other Asian restaurants in Silver Spring, YuNoodles is an OK Asian cuisine place that will satisfy your cravings if you do not want to go farther for a more authentic flavor. My partner and I went recently for lunch after a friend (whose recommendations I generally trust) recommended it. Overall, it’s not bad, but having just recently lived in Japan where there is no dearth of good Chinese food, I found everything mediocre. The cucumber dishes for example, should be simple with maybe some soy and vinegar dressing, but they doused this dish in sesame sauce which makes it too sweet. My husband had some spicy beef noodle soup dish, which was OK, but overall I found the broth to be surprisingly bland. I ordered some dumplings in spicy sauce, which was probably the best dish, but also was a tad bit too salty. The service was decent though, prompt and friendly, overall it’s worth a try if you’re in the area, but there are better options if you’re willing to go farther away. The tastes of the restaurant definitely cater to their clientele, who I assume do not know authentic Chinese food.

Very good place to have noodles & dim sum 👏🏻. Just coincidently pass by and we saw this restaurant. I really like the soup dumplings here, specially the orange flavor. The noodle soup are very well made, noodles and the broths are juicy, just that day the staff warned us the beef is a little bit chewy, I prefer more tender. Highly recomended. Will come back for dimsum tasting! 🥢

Good assortment of different noodle dishes with different spice levels and flavors. I think there should be something for everyone. My favorite things I tried were the Scallion Pancake and Chili Oil Wontons. I liked the numbing spice in my Yibin Spicy Dry Noodles but I probably wouldn't get it next time as some of the things other people got looked a bit better, including the N6, N7 and N8 options on the menu. Other than that, service was very good and efficient.

A very good noodle place in downtown Silver Spring. I had the cold noodles and it tasted delicious. I only wish there were more noodles in the large plate. The service was friendly and quick. The dining environment was nice and clean. I will come back to try more dishes next time.

Very busy place, but we were seated fairly quickly. Food was pretty good for the location and price. I’m happy to have found a good Asian restaurant that is not “fast food” American style Chinese. I usually have to drive all the way to Rockville for authentic Chinese food. The restaurant maximizes their space to fit many people in a medium sized space, without feeling too crowded. I ordered the hot & sour noodles but it was not spicy for me, so I had to add more chili sauce. It also came with so many peanuts and glass noodles, so I couldn’t finish it all. It was good though. The pork & chive dumplings were very good and tasted freshly made. The skin is thin, which is the way I like it. The duck was a tad sweet and meat was tender. The chicken appetizer was spicy sour, and had a good flavor. There is a parking lot across the street that is free on the weekends. You can also park in the Whole Foods parking lot and walk a few blocks.

Stopped in for a Sunday afternoon lunch and so glad I did! Ambiance is warm and inviting- a nice mellow vibe. Friendly staff who made some great menu recommendations. But most importantly the food was oh so tasty. I had the vegan ramen (made with a mushroom dashi) and the portion size was very filling. Highly recommend + tofu. I literally LOVE Mecha! The environment is cozy; the ambiance is clean and warm; the FOOD is delicious. I haven't had anything that wasn't super flavorful and just GOOD. Their service is great. Vivica, the manager is AMAZING. I go probably once a week!

Just had a great experience at Mecha Noodle Bar! The food was phenomenal, I can't recommend the spare ribs enough, fall-off-the-bone tender and packed with flavor. The kale salad was shockingly good, and I don't even like kale. The firecracker wings were my favorite by far. What really made the experience truly special was the staff. Gabby and Jada were fantastic, so friendly, attentive, and their recommendations were spot-on. What stood out was the staff's excellent communication during shift changes, when my original server left, without missing a beat the next one made sure my food came and I had everything I needed. It was refreshing to see that customer information was passed along so people continued to receive great service. It really enhanced the whole dining experience. Outstanding food, great atmosphere, and exceptional service made this such a memorable meal. I'll definitely be back!

MECHA!! MECHA!! MECHA!! Omg I had so much fun here! As soon as we walked inside we were greeted with warm welcomes and immediately seated! It’s a fairly big space so it’s perfect for large groups and family dinners! The waitstaff, chefs, and managers were all were ALL extremely friendly and helpful. There wasn’t a time we wanted for anything. As far as the food… AMAZING! We decide on a few different items: Kale salad: I’m not a raisin kind of girl but I must say this kale salad hit allllll the right spots! The kale taste fresh, the miso vinaigrette was sweet and tangy (I would buy a bottle lol), and the avocado… THE AVOCADO brought all the flavors together… perfection! Hot Oil Dumplings: Give me 1000 RIGHT NOW! There were some of the most succulent dumplings I’ve ever had. They were STUFFED! Usually when it’s filled like that it lacks flavor, NOT THESE! There were so juicy and flavors. The scallions and hot chili oil combinations.. chefs kiss. Pho Ga: This was a classic carefully seasoned pho! It was nostalgic! It had always been my go to dish when I’m sick, when it’s super cold in the winter, and of course when/if I have a hangover lol! It’s so simple but everything was executed wonderfully! General Tso Shrimp: Yes, this was my FAVORITE dish of the day! The shrimp tasted fresh and was breaded immaculately! I’m still wondering how they did it! The sauce was spicy but not too because it was off set by the sweetness. The sauce was perfectly coated on the shrimp! I usually need more at other places but this was just right. IN MY NO DRINKING ERA (NO PROOF): This was a non alcoholic cocktail option and it was thirst quenching! Refreshing to say the least and with fresh ingredients, it’s a great summer drink! There were literal pieces of fruit inside! Such a fun delicious experience! MECHA Mule: The Mecha Mule was a classic play on a mule! It did what it needed to do!! Another classically made item at MECHA mad with care and executed perfectly! Top 5 fav drinks here for sure! I absolutely love MECHA! It’s not far from me so I’ll be a frequent visitor! I’m obsessed with the dumplings. I have no choice but to return! 10/10 experience!

Finally an Asian fusion that’s tasty all around! Edamame was different & excellent. All noodle dishes were delicious. Noodle were cooked to perfection (meaning not overcooked). Good service.

The VIBE and service are IMPECCABLE! The Happy Hour is a MUST! The Sake flight is a voyage worth traveling and the Kimichi Rice is SPLITTABLE! And I LOVE to eat, so trust me when I say… it’s not a one person portion. 🫶🏿 FAVORITE COCKTAIL: Smoky Shadow.

We’re out of towners and stumbled across this gem while at the union market. Def one of the best pho we’ve had. Carlos was a great host/server! We sure do plan on revisiting.
Kelly V — Google review
Was very excited to try the vegan ramen as a mushroom lover and found it to be extremely salty to the point that it was hard to finish. The mushrooms and noodles were both a perfect texture, but the tofu I added came cold sitting on top. The place has some cool decor and vibe but I had several gnats around my table that took away from this experience. The service also left a lot to be desired. I wouldn’t write this place off entirely, but I wouldn’t order the vegan ramen again.

Japanese restaurant
Ramen restaurant
Ramen by UZU started as a small pop-up inside Honeycomb Grocer in Union Market and has gained recognition as the best affordable Japanese restaurant in the DMV area. Customers appreciate the flavorful broth and customizable toppings, with separate containers for noodles and broth along with reheating instructions. The shoyu ramen is a favorite, especially when paired with tender chicken. Despite slightly undercooked noodles, patrons find the flavors authentic and enjoy the friendly service at this cute little stall.
This is easily the best kept secret at Union Market - maybe also the best secret Ramen in DC??? I was there again this past weekend and also tried the noodles (cold) - incredible! The worst part about going to this place is deciding between all the great options on the menu. Staff is very friendly and nice too. I'm not sure if the Japanese guy is the owner or not, but he is very friendly and helpful, a true gem that really helps make the experience.

Delicious sesame noodles. Sweet, spicy, savory, and served with chicken and veggies. My palette was thoroughly satisfied. It was prepared quickly as well.
Christopher Y — Google review
I was pleasantly surprised by this place located in a food court that my husband wanted to visit. It is reasonably priced and the staff is extremely helpful & friendly. Side note, their broth is not as rich or salty as other ramen places which I prefer.
Lin W — Google review
Cute little Ramen stall with friendly service and some tasty options. I felt the flavors were authentic Japanese and the broth was delicious. I think my noodles may have been slightly undercooked but not enough to ruin my meal. Reasonably priced option for a quick bite at union market… I would try again.

Had the Japanese Curry Rice Bowl and it was amazing! It was pure comfort food, and made me feel great! Food was fresh and done quick. It's hard to consider any other establishment in the market, knowing that this place is here. A must try!
Christian A — Google review
The menu said "soft-boiled egg," but what was actually served was a very undercooked poached egg. The egg whites were barely cooked and the yolk was cold and raw. The noodles and chicken were decent, but the chicken shio broth just tasted like plain chicken stock. The spinach was also raw. Personally, I would not come back here.

Ramen by Uzu Review: Tasty and Affordable Chicken Ramen Located in Union Market, Ramen by Uzu specializes in chicken ramen with a flavorful broth that’s both good and reasonably priced. The portion sizes are generous, offering great value. I think the chef came from Toki Underground, adding to the credibility of this delightful ramen spot, but can't confirm.

Peking Gourmet Inn is an upscale restaurant located in the Falls Church area of Northern Virginia, near Washington, D.C. Since its establishment in the late 1970s, it has been known for serving Peking duck and Sichuan beef in a refined setting with white tablecloths. The dining room is adorned with photos of famous guests who have dined there over the years.
The Peking Duck is the best, but my friend and I decided to spend less and get three dishes to share instead. The Fresh Garlic Chicken ($23) and Gourmet Chinese Eggplant ($19) were delicious. We found the pork a little tough in the Pork with Spring Onions ($22). Good food, large portions, excellent service.

Taste : 4.3/5 Environment: 4.2/5 Service:4.3/5 If you're in DC and love Chinese food, Pecking Duck Inn seems like a must-visit. The fact that it's popular with celebrities is such a fun bonus—imagine running into someone famous while enjoying your meal! The grilled duck slicing show is unique experience, and it's great that they offer different styles of duck cuisine. Plus, family-style portions that are generous. Perfect for sharing with friends or family. Definitely adding this to my list! 🦆🍴

Beijing Gourmet Inn – A DMV Legend for Peking Duck Renowned for serving the best Peking duck in the DMV area, Beijing Gourmet Inn has been a favorite since the days of President George H.W. Bush. Its walls are adorned with hundreds of photos showcasing visits from VIPs over the years, a testament to its enduring reputation. The restaurant’s elegant, traditional Chinese decor—featuring intricate paintings, ornate screens, and calligraphy symbols of longevity and good fortune—creates an inviting ambiance. Private banquet rooms and large round tables make it ideal for group gatherings. Service is impeccable—attentive and polished. We came specifically for the Peking duck, and it did not disappoint. The house-made wraps had the perfect texture, while the plum sauce offered a subtle sweetness, balanced by fresh spring onions. Layering the sauce, onions, tender duck meat, and crispy skin created a heavenly bite—absolutely delicious! While the Peking duck is a must-order, other dishes we tried—the Mandarin Lo Mein, Jeo Yen Shrimp, and Family-Style Bean Curd—were decent but unremarkable. For the best experience, stick with their star dish. A top-tier destination for Peking duck, with an elegant setting and outstanding service.

I love coming here. It is by far the best Chinese food in the DMV. Reservations are recommended. It’s a beautiful decorated space with lots of seating availability. The servers are extremely attentive and pleasant to interact with. When I go, my group usually gets the duck which is what they are famous for. I don’t eat duck but it’s always served with care. I absolutely LOVE the Szechuan beef proper meal. It’s sweet but also savory. And the eggrolls are amazing. Everyone should come here at least once.

THE BEST!! I travel a lot for work, and I love peking ducks. This place is THE BEST peking duck so far!! I come to this place whenever I am in town. Order chili oil on the side and pour that over the cucumber you get on the side. It is little bit pricey but it is worth every penny!! The fried shrimp is a must-have as your side kick!! Enjoy!!

Overall: 3/5 Food: 4/5 - I came here with a big group and we got a bunch of dishes to share family style. We got the green beans, beef with onions, peking duck, lo mein, and seabass with black bean sauce. While all the dishes were ~good~, it was nothing extraordinary or memorable. The peking duck was good but comparable to other places I've been to and the seabass was disappointing especially for the price (around $50) as it is obvious the fish is frozen cuts (similar to frozen chunks found in grocery stores). Value: 1/5 - The total ended up being around $400. The peking duck alone was $79 and all the other dishes ranged from $30 - $55. Terrible value for the quality, taste and experience that you're getting. Service: 5/5 - The servers were nice and attentive. It was obvious that the lady server was just trying to recommend and push us to order all the expensive dishes but other than that, the service was nothing terrible or amazing. Overall, this place was disappointing especially for the price. Peking duck for $80 is crazy and the $400 price tag is ridiculous for the quality and taste of all the dishes. It seems like all these dishes are comparable to any other chinese restaurant you can find in a random neighborhood. It seems like this place is popular because of its "history" and due to the fact that many famous people have visited, but the food, value and experience do not match the pricetag or expectation.
Sharon L — Google review
The skin of the peking duck was not crispy because it was very greasy. I felt like i was eating a grease as my sauce. The shrimp was bland today. It could've used some more seasonings.

One of the best Chinese restaurant in the area. The Peking duck is wonderful. I enjoy watching the server carefully slicing and serving the duck. Almost like an artist. The hot & sour soup and egg rolls are very good as well. Planning to go again for my birthday! Thank you to Peking Gourmet!!!

Chinese restaurant
Soft drinks shop
Northwest Chinese Food, located near the University of Maryland campus, offers a blend of imaginative and traditional Chinese cuisine in a modest setting. The establishment's reputation lives up to its high praise, with efficient service and outstanding fare. Their menu boasts a distinctive array of captivating noodle dishes that set it apart from typical Americanized Chinese restaurants. Additionally, they offer an intriguing selection of spicy "skewer" options featuring lamb, chicken, fish ball, tofu, and potato.
Second visit in one year and I can safely say this place is the real deal. It is as authentic as it gets and just incredibly delicious. The place has limited seating space, so expect to wait if you come at peak times. Their Chinese burgers are amazing, the skewers are too. Also, the knife cut noodles and their dumpling pancakes are something we haven't found anywhere else. The service is always friendly and the food comes out very quickly and at the right temperature. Cannot wait to come back and please consider opening a location in Bethesda.

NW Chinese is hands down my favorite restaurant in College Park. Their Spicy Beef Noodle Soup is my go-to dish — rich, comforting, and full of bold flavor. I’ve tried it with both the traditional knife-cut noodles and the rice noodles, and in my opinion, the knife-cut noodles are the way to go. The soup arrives piping hot, making it perfect for chilly days. The sandwich appetizers are fantastic — flavorful, crispy, and perfect for sharing. If you’re dining with friends, I highly recommend ordering a few to split! One of the true standouts on the menu is the sesame hot oil dumplings. They are a 10/10 every time — perfectly cooked, generously filled, and drenched in a savory, nutty, and spicy sauce that hits all the right notes. Insider tip: take the leftover sesame sauce from the dumplings and pour it into your Spicy Beef Noodle Soup. Trust me — it takes the flavor to a whole new level. I’ve also tried their hot pasta dishes, and they’re consistently delicious and full of authentic flavor. You can tell the kitchen knows their craft and cares about quality. If you’re sensitive to spice, don’t worry — you can ask for your dishes mild, and they’ll gladly accommodate. My only wish? That they expand or move into a bigger space. It gets busy, and while the service is always kind and attentive, you might have to wait a bit for a table. But honestly, it’s worth the wait. NW Chinese is a gem in College Park and a must-visit if you’re in the area.

i didnt come in here with the expectation of liking the food but the dishes we got were so good. we got the hot oil-seared knife cut noodles with spicy tofu and the sesame sauce rolled noodles. when i tell you the spicy tofu was amazing, i mean i was laying prostrate on the floor like i had just seen an angel.

The food is mostly noodles and different type of minced meat. They all pack some heat. I prefer my food to be more delicately seasoned so these are not really my favorite. But I can see a lot of folks would love these. The service was great for a low cost eatery.
Alan W — Google review
If you love noodles, you’ll probably want to check this place out. I really liked the atmosphere, and the service was great. That said, I wish they offered more than just noodle dishes. I ordered the beef noodle soup and was disappointed to find only two pieces of broccoli—was hoping for a few more veggies. The place was packed during our visit, so clearly a lot of people enjoy the food. Personally, it wasn’t for me.

If you're on the hunt for a delightful dining experience, look no further than Akira Ramen & Izakaya. This charming spot has quickly become a favorite in the neighborhood, offering an inviting atmosphere and friendly service that makes you feel right at home. Guests have enjoyed watching skilled chefs prepare dishes from their seats at the bar, adding to the overall ambiance.
Visited this restaurant during its soft opening and was thoroughly impressed, especially considering it's only been open for five weeks. The attention to detail is evident everywhere, from branded elements throughout the restaurant to the inviting and comfortable ambiance. Our servers was attentive without being intrusive. The food tasted exceptionally fresh, and the mango sushi was a delightful, refreshing surprise. Highly recommend!
Cristina V — Google review
I am reviewing them during their soft opening, so I know things are not perfect... and that's okay. There is room for improvement. We only had the sushi and bento boxes. The sushi was, okay. Maybe the rice wasn't seasoned correctly or something but it just seemed, just okay. The fish was fine. California rolls come with the bento boxes and they were fine. There was a dusting of masago. I wish there was an option to add more masago. The Katsu chicken and the tempura were good. We had salmon and avocado, salmon mango, mango avocado and California rolls. We also had the bento boxes which come with miso soup. We also had the tofu agadashi. This needed to be in a smaller form or cubes. The portions seemed too big for my chopsticks. I was sad to see the drink menu were just cold drinks. The desserts were limited to mochi ice cream, a yuzu cheesecake and something else. The servers were very accommodating. There is a garage next door (enter from Baltimore Ave). So far it is unmetered.

This is my second time at this restaurant. Both times were amazing. Food comes out quick! Although I’m giving 5 stars, there is something that I noticed both times here. After we placed our order another server comes to ask if we’re ready to order. And the first time they tried to place another tables food with my table. It’s an easy fix. My suggestion is that the servers need to take their time. It’s a restaurant, not fast food. Take your time and make sure you’re in the right spot. But other than that I have no complaints. Everyone is kind, polite, and the food is so great!! I’ll be back again.

Stop by to have dinner on a random occasion. The food is on the authentic side of the spectrum. Atmosphere and the services were great and esthetically pleasing.Everything I tried was delicious! The ramen broth is really good I got the Akita with curly noodles. Okonomiyaki appetizer was also delicious I especially loved the sauce it came with. Mixed katsu don was also delicious and the pork chops by themselves were already very flavorful .
Ammi C — Google review
The ambience was spot on as was the internal decor. The sushis (Akira and King Dragon Rolls) were absolutely on point. Loved their Karage (they were sooooo tender)! The Takoyaki was to die for, maybe the standout of them all. I am big fan of their bento boxes as well, and have tried both the katsu as well as the shrimp teraiyaki, and both were awesome. However, the Karage Ramen was nothing extraordinary and was on the blander size. I would definitely suggest to stick to their Sushi and apetizer options. The desserts were decent, and would recommend their yuzu cheesecake. Overall, this is our 2nd visit here, and will definitely come back when we are craving for sushi!

Dumpling District, located in the Luna Food Hall, offers a variety of delicious soup dumplings that are worth the wait. The rainbow platter allows you to sample different flavors and is highly recommended. While the food is exceptional, some visitors have noted issues with the cleanliness of the bathroom facilities. Despite this, many patrons find the experience of watching the dumplings being made right in front of them to be quite enjoyable.
Great made-to-order soup dumplings and shui mai. Each were made to order (see photo) so be prepared to wait a few minutes (well worth it) for your order. I didn’t like the scallion pancakes were deep fried instead of pan fried. Very greasy. The stand is located in a small ‘food court’ area in Chinatown full of other Asian food stands.
Oliver L — Google review
We stopped at the Dumpling District located in Chinatown inside Luna Hall late at night for a snack. The security guard for Luna Hall warmly greeted us and explained to us the setup of Luna Hall and what was available to us. The front area of Luna Hall was a bar/club and the second half was a food court with a few places to select from. Dumpling District was located at the very end and was one of the few places there that still offered food an hour before Luna Hall was closing. We ordered the Rainbow Soup Dumplings which was their soup dumpling sampler that consisted of one of each flavor that they serve. The six dumpling flavors were pork, chicken, mala, crab meat and pork, shrimp and zucchini, and black truffle. The order took a little of time to receive but they seemed to be steamed to order as they came out very hot. Everything was pretty good. The dumplings were flavorful and pretty tasty. The crab meat and pork was my favorite. I want to mention that the Mala was a little spicy which was not indicated on the menu for those of you that are not a fan of spicy foods. Overall, the dumplings were pretty good for a late night quick stop eatery.

First time here. The guy taking orders could have been a bit nicer, but it really appeared as though he just didn't want to be at work today. The food was delicious, though! Our group tried the Rainbow Soup Dumplings, Chicken Bao, Pork Potstickers, Scallion Pancakes and the Pork with rice bowl. We have zero complaints about the food. Despite the mediocre service, we would definitely come back here.

I love the rainbow dumplings. I tried the shrimp pork and vegetable wontons in peanut butter spicy sauce bc they were free w the dumplings on Uber Eats… I seriously think it’s the BEST THING I EVER ATE. this is a big compliment coming from a foodie such as my self. Perfectly spicy, salty, and savory. They put a lot of meat in their dumplings and they are very filling. PLEASE NEVER CHANGE UR DUMPLINGS ESPECIALLY THE PB WONTONS. I was moaning the whole time I ate the meal lol

hey. What an unpleasant experience, I arrived at 9:25 pm, in poke ninja they didn't want to sell the food, according to them they were no longer selling anything, at the entrance a person (tall man about 45 years old) with a rather rude and negative tone yelled at me that they closed at 10, there were 35 minutes left and apparently they didn't want to sell anything at all, neither food nor drinks. How sad, I had liked it a long time ago, but I came back and my experience was very bad. I don't think I'll go back!

Food court atmosphere. Ordering was easy. There was a bit of a wait for the food. While not the best I’ve ever had, their xiaolongbao were still good and filling. I was full after the first five. Kind of expensive.

Inside a small food court. Food is ok but nothing to rave about! You order your food at the kiosk and they call your number when it's ready. There are enough tables since it's not too crowded. In the same food court, you can find a boba place, a ramen shop and a bakery. There's also a bar at the entrance of the food court. The setup is a little unusual.
