We ordered the salt-baked fish — the presentation was indeed a nice show. However, the fish was full of bones, which made it hard to enjoy. For the price they charge, I really expected it to be properly cleaned and ready to eat. On the positive side, the place is clean and the staff is friendly. The place is clean and the workers are nice people.

It is a very old school cool posh place. The food was amazing, the selection of different seafood dishes was just wow! I missed the sea cucumbers was not available that day, but would come back for that. Whatever we tried was well prepared and thought through. I would say classic dishes with a twist is some which was excellent. The stuff was very accommodating and kind, helping select the best according to our taste. And then deserts were mind blowing, you should not miss that.

Botafumeiro is an institution in Barcelona. A classic seafood restaurant, large, constantly busy and full of convivial atmosphere. We enjoyed a delicious lobster salad to start, followed by a truly memorable seafood paella for two. The portions are generous, the seafood fresh and delicious. The professional staff were courteous, efficient and accommodating. A wandering trio sings and plays throughout dinner, the walls are lined with photos of the many famous patrons who have dined there. Highly recommended for first time visitors to Barcelona who enjoy classic restaurants.

Loved the atmosphere of this famous restaurant. Although hugely popular with tourists and celebrities, the food quality was excellent. We really enjoyed : Scampi Jamon As for steak, it was too matured for our liking.

Super overpriced and totally not worth it. They charge you for a bunch of things you didn’t ask for. 50€ for one single prawn. 7€ for a tiny bottle of water. 5€ for two tiny pieces of bread with tomato. It’s a joke really. Be careful what you order. The bill is going to bankrupt you

We came here as a walk in, luckily we were the first to arrive before opening as there is very limited seating. We sat at the counter area at the front of the restaurant. We ordered quite a large selection of dishes as you'll see in the images. The food was well cooked but not over cooked and the way it was cooked really emphasised the flavours of the seafood. The service was friendly and attentive, we really enjoyed this place and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others.

The scallop is woohoo good that I ordered twice (8 pieces) still feels not enough. Can be a bit slow during peak hours, but the service is good (love the smiles from them). The shrimp is my second favorite, super tender and fresh. Taste overall is a little salty but still balanced. Highly recommend place for seafood lovers from anywhere

Busy restaurant! Requires a booking. Great for fresh seafood in the middle of the city! - most of the ingredients are only lightly seasoned to allow the natural flavours to come through - reasonable pricing for seafood which is very fresh - great for lunch! - the razor clams and the prawns were great. - the ceviche was a tad under seasoned for me. - an English menu is provided. - they strictly open only after 1pm.

I’ve been here a couple of times now, in my opinion it’s the best seafood place in Gracia, or maybe all of Barcelona. Must try: scallops, calamari, monkfish. Everything is nicely flavoured, perfectly cooked, just delicious.

This is my favourite place to eat fish in Barcelona. There are so many dishes that I crave so much and have to return for! Namely - the scallops. They are salty, sweet, tangy and delicious. The sardines are also so yummy. The atmosphere in the restaurant is nice and the service is really good. I can never finish a meal without a mousse de galleta maria which tastes like my childhood. A wonderful and special place.

Excellent food, impeccable service! If you truly appreciate quality, this is a place you should visit! Top choice: Blanco espumoso, a white wine preserved at 60 metres under the water. It goes perfectly with the most fresh and delicious oysters. Also, they have a great variety of seafood and fish!

Biggest disappointment of a meal our whole trip in Spain. Suggested by our hotel and given the high rating, went to eat there. No reservation needed as they were not that busy. That should have told me something. Waiter spoke little to no English so huge communication gap. Wanted fresh seafood so ordered off their “specials” menu. Had the clams which were tasty, but so tiny you barely got any meat. They had a albacore tuna so thought I would try that but instead of being sashimi grade tuna or something super fresh, it was a cooked fish that was well done and then pickled in Al de type of vinegar. It was disgusting. We got their paella for two which basically was rice with cuttlefish bits chopped up in it and came with one prawn, one shrimp, and 2 clams for each person. That’s it - and it was 50€. Spent over 120€ and left hungry. I do not recommend this place.

One of the best seafood restaurants I've seen! Service was impeccable, food was out of this world. Highly recommend for a classic place with delicious food! Wine recommendation was also spot on.

An instant favorite in Barcelona. The seafood was of the highest caliber - impossibly fresh, prepared with precision and care. The grilled lobster and paella were standouts. Service was seamless from start to finish, with our waiter David providing attentive, and knowledgeable care throughout. The wine list was expansive and impressively curated. Elegant without pretense. We can’t wait to return.

The seafood was fresh and prepared with passion. I had a few starters and then wanted them for the main course to add a few carabineros rojos to the paella. After a few minutes the chef cook showed up and told me that he was sorry, but it would be impossible for him to throw them into the paella as they are so delicate and rare that it would be an outrageous act to do so. He asked me if he could just prepare them in a different way and I told him, that I would like to have them the same way he would eat them. I had a feast. He just grilled them for a few seconds to add a little smoky taste to it and then covered them with raw sea salt. I will never eat them in a different way again! If you're interested in their passion for food they will give you their hearts! I can't wait, to get back to the Carballeira!

The food had mixed reviews from our group. One dish was under seasoned, one was undercooked, one was pretty good. Appetizers were good.

This place is definitely overpriced, but their ingredients are top quality. They have starters of sardines, olives and bread. The sardines are mild, slightly fishy, and pretty good chewy bite. The olives are quite mild and pleasant. Then they have the anchovy with tomato bread on the menu(anchoas cantabrico). The menu portion is 4 of each which is 34€, but you can order just 1. That works out to 8.5€ for one of each. The tomato bread was thin and crunchy. The anchovy though was extremely salty, strong tasting and somewhat fishy(less than you would expect for how strong it was) Unless you're an anchovy enjoyer, don't bother for this price Goose barnacles min 100g, 36€ has this particular chew, it's kind of like crab but salty instead of sweet and more chewy. For 100g you don't get much meat, and if I were being honest I have no idea why this thing is a delicacy. It's more just novelty, it's really not superb tasting. It's an interesting snack, maybe worth 5€ for 100g if we just consider the taste. Definitely skip this Minimum order of one Gambas Rojas de roses brasa. This one was top tier. The flesh tasted like the best amaebi. Superbly supple and almost juicy. The head unfortunately was bitter. Unless you have a thing for big prawns tho, I hardly think this is worth it. The smaller ones taste the same, and costs a lot less at other places. The cheesecake is amazing. This is coming from someone who loves cheesecake, it's got such a great harmonious flavour, and the soft crust that's almost a sauce in itself worked wonders too. If you're a serious cheesecake lover, you have to try this. The whole thing was so impressive I couldn't believe they merely used cream cheese. Moreover, the strawberry jam it's served with is one of the best I've had. First of all it seems like there's barely any added sugar, and it's intensely fruity. Most jams are too jammy(as in it seems artificial, rather than something you cook down from natural products), and don't work as a sauce. This one somehow works perfectly with the cheesecake. Apart from the cheesecake, the items here are premium but priced at way too much of a premium with no significant taste improvement. However the cheesecake is insane. I polished it off myself, and you can tell from the pic the thing is not small, probably meant to be shared between 2

The food was okay, but compared to the price, there was no wow effect. The anchovies in olive oil and the big green and black olives were great and full of complex flavors that they served at the beginning. The oysters were good as well. Unfortunately, the rest of the starters and main dishes were just okay. Even the vermouth they served was not of good quality, and the dessert was also 'quite disappointing' despite the promising presentation.

Enjoyed a wonderful lunch at Estimar. A bit pricey, but well worth it! The restaurant is small, intimate, and fun watching the chefs work around us. We started with the oysters and caviar butter toast - so good! Picked our own fresh scorpion fish and paired with the asparagus. And the cheesecake is a must!

Amazing high quality fresh food. Everything is delicious and well cooked. Good atmosphere and great kind service. The place is hidden in a small street and the restaurant is quite small which gives a lovely atmosphere. The menu is super rich and based mostly in fresh fish that they cook in front of you(depending on the table). Only con: the price of wines is outrageous.

Decent food experience with one surprise on our tastebuds - the crayfish carpaccio. Lovely goose barnacles. We ordered a few rounds. Rose red prawns a bit average. Price is super good for what you get. We ordered cheesecake for takeaway as we were too full.

We love the one in Madriad. Actually, this one in Barcelona was the starting point, the first one. It’s deep in the old town alleyway. It’s a pleasant surprise when one first come into the restaurant, such a contrast against the alley outside. It’s more than open kitchen. Guests are literally sitting inside the kitchen. We loved that, an authentic homely feel. Seafood ingredients were first rated and cooking was superb. We order the best Spanish white on the menu and it was super. Only complaint: Service could be improved. They missed couple of our orders and server was a bit rash in her serving manner. To us, it’s was one of the best restaurants in Barcelona, if you are not into Michelin style.

We visited this on our first night in Barcelona based on a recommendation from our hotel concierge, we also ask them to call in and make reservations for us, and it didn’t disappoint! As first-time paella tasters, we found it incredibly flavorful and the portion size was massive. The staff were warm, attentive, and professional. We chose to sit indoors, and the owner personally welcomed us with champagne. Later, the waiters offered us a local complimentary digestive liquor, which was a lovely touch. Prices are on the higher side, but the location near the beach makes it perfect for a post-dinner stroll. One downside: a group of buskers came in to perform music and sing, and while they were respectful, they were quite insistent about receiving tips. It felt a bit overwhelming and disrupted the otherwise relaxed atmosphere.

Tourist Trap! Beware! This place is the definition of a tourist scam. Our group of eight came for dinner, and the waiter would not stop pushing us to order a massive seafood platter — lobster, crab, prawns, shrimp, you name it. Against our better judgment, we agreed. Big mistake. We were charged for tomato bread we never ordered (they said it was complimentary), had musicians show up mid-meal expecting tips, and when it came time to pay, the staff flat-out refused to bring the bill until we asked multiple times. When it finally arrived — €1,100! For average food and one king crab that somehow cost €250. To top it off, the staff demanded a tip, standing right beside us waiting for an answer. The whole experience felt aggressive, dishonest, and uncomfortable. I wish we had read more reviews before coming — there are plenty of others saying the same thing. This is not authentic dining; it’s a setup for tourists. Do yourself a favor and eat literally anywhere else.

I visited this restaurant with a colleague for dinner yesterday. While the service was friendly and the food tasted decent, there was nothing particularly special about it. The restaurant’s location and décor seem designed to draw in tourists — the walls are covered with framed photos of local celebrities and politicians. We ordered the seafood paella, which was just okay. The prawns in garlic sauce were actually much better. Be aware that the bread with tomato purée, which appeared complimentary, was later charged on the bill (twice, in fact). We also asked to split one paella into two portions, but instead we received two full servings and ended up having to force ourselves to finish them. The total bill came to €128, which felt quite high for what we got. The almond cake at the end was a nice touch — thankfully, at least that wasn’t an extra charge. Overall, I’d say this place relies more on its touristy location than on the quality or value of its food. There are likely better dining options nearby.

Not bad, the price is quite affordable for a seaside restaurant. The food is really, really good!! Love the paella!! I think what they should improve is paying more attention to customers who have already finished looking at the menu, it’s not great to be forgotten.

We had dinner at Salamanca, a well-known classic in Barceloneta. The reputation for seafood is definitely deserved. Our paella was very good, packed with fresh seafood and rich flavor. The restaurant has a traditional, old-school Spanish vibe, which we liked. It was incredibly busy, so things felt a bit chaotic and the service was definitely slow at times. But for the quality of the paella and the authentic atmosphere, it's still a great choice.

The place was very touristy. The waiter was very nice but the food was not good. Every bite of the paella had sand chunks. It also came out very fast and the rice was under cooked. I’m not a picky person and don’t leave bad reviews but this place was not good. They did not charge me for the paella because I complained which I appreciate but would choose somewhere different if wanting to have good paella.

What a wonderful location, on the water! Our server was not only friendly, but very funny. He provided us with excellent service!! The food was exceptionally delicious, cooked and served perfectly. Our dining experience was probably the best of our trip to Spain!!

Small and inconspicuous restaurant in Braceloneta. There are around 10-12 tables divided into two rooms. The location offers seafood and fish for dining. And what can I say, the quality is really fabulous. If you then look at the price/performance level, then the restaurant is unbeatable! Anyone visiting Barcelona must visit this restaurant. I'm already looking forward to my next stay. We paid €120, but we really had a seafood massacre! The waitresses were super nice and they laughed as we ordered all the time. The boss then said goodbye to us personally! That's how it should be, we'll be back!

Delicious local Spanish tapas where locals eat. Service was great, friendly staff. The 3 ladies (chefs) in the kitchen looked very busy while I was dining. I went to the kitchen to let them know the food were very nice and fresh. They were all very friendly and managed to take their time for me to take a photo with them. I highly recommend Montilio Can Maño. Price is reasonable

A sincere place with few frills but exquisite fish, if you are looking for luxury this is not for you. Excellent quality of the fresh fish, the simplicity in proposing it and then cooking it which makes everything very difficult, with the fabulously good result. Try all kinds of fried and grilled dishes! I love this place

Cosy local restaurant with great seafood. Have been visiting this place yearly during MWC and it never disappoints. Take note that the staff may not understand English but you can order by translating the menu using your phone. The fried calamari, grilled peppers, squid and tomato bread are recommended.

My classmates and I love this spot for lunch. It's a very good restaurant, but keep in mind that it's exclusively a fish restaurant. Don't expect anything fancy; this is pure, simple food. The mussels are excellent and definitely worth recommending, and the same goes for the squid. The menu features whole fish, gambas, and other seafood. Because of this, I'd recommend either knowing how to debone a fish yourself or dining with someone who can teach you.

Bar Mut was so exceptional. Every single bite was somehow better than the one before. We had the Seared scallop with pork jowl and cafè paris butter…. I’m not sure how but the star of this dish was the tomato, I nearly cried. I wish we ordered everything on menu. Bar mut will be the reason I return to Spain! Hayamel was such a generous server…. I can’t wait to see her again!

Bar Mut – Barcelona 🐟🍷 Wow. Just wow. Bar Mut might be one of the best dining experiences we had in Barcelona. Every dish that came out of that kitchen was incredible — the turbot with herbs, the scallops, the shrimp, the razor clams, the silky seafood stew, and that unforgettable filet mignon topped with foie gras. Everything was perfectly cooked, beautifully seasoned, and served with care. We were lucky to sit right at the bar across from the kitchen — front-row seats to the action. The service was friendly and spot-on, the wine and cocktails were excellent, and the whole place had that warm, cozy, real-Barcelona vibe. By the end, we were absolutely full but couldn’t stop eating. The tasting menu just kept getting better. Dream-worthy food, great energy, amazing people. Bar Mut is a must.

Fresh daily seafood and you can choose from the bar table. The razor clam is extremely good and the seasoning is quite decent. It is fresh and good in size. The scallops tartar is also a must-try food. The oyster is opened cleanly and delicious. If you want to sit where you want, please have a reservation.

This restaurant was such a special find — intimate and small, but with great energy and a cozy atmosphere. Our waiter was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, happily sharing recommendations and guiding us through the menu. We started with scallops and croquettes, both beautifully prepared and full of flavor. For the main event, we went with the house specialty paella, upgrading to include all seafood — dorada, red shrimp, and more. The presentation was stunning, and every bite was packed with flavor. The dorada in particular was a beautiful touch that elevated the dish. The paella runs north of 100 euros, but if you’re looking for an indulgent, seafood-filled experience, it’s absolutely worth it. Fantastic food, warm service, and a setting that makes you want to linger — definitely a restaurant to remember.

Superb experience!!! Highly recommend!!! The service was great. The staff recommended a great local bottle of wine from a vineyard that makes it in small batches. And it was great!! We requested of her to put together a tasting menu of the restaurant’s best dishes and we were not disappointed. It was great!!

The tuna tartare with foie gras shavings was exquisite, perfectly balanced and bursting with flavour. The truffled scrambled eggs were rich, silky, and one of the highlights of the evening. We also tried the grilled octopus, which was tender and beautifully charred, and the steak tartare, prepared with just the right amount of seasoning. To finish, the cheesecake was light yet indulgent, the perfect sweet ending. Add to this the intimate atmosphere and friendly, knowledgeable staff, and you have one of the best dining spots in Barcelona. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to experience true culinary craftsmanship.

There is a reason why local restaurants like this can survive over a century. It’s simple, elegant, full of history, and yet humble about it. We ordered 3 dishes. Fried fish as appetizer, oxtail tail as the meat dish, and of course paella to finish off the meal. The fried fish was lightly salted and perfectly cooked. Not too dry but just enough so the bone came right off. The oxtail had been slow cooked for sometime. The meat did not come right off the bone, but that’s the good part. If it came right off, personally I would find it over cooked. This one was fine and tasty. I would recommend ordering a side of bread to finish the sauce. Don’t let it go to waste. The paella was gigantic. Tho it’s supposed to be for 2 people, but it felt like could feed 4 of us. It’s crispy on the bottom and soft on top. Personally I found the rice slightly undercooked (really just slightly). But then again this was the first time I ate paella in Spain. So it could very well be the authentic way. I wouldn’t change a thing. Staff were very friendly. Everyone was. I had a wonderful experience. Cheers to another 100 years.

Fantastic service from Amauris and Delicious Food!!! From the moment we walked in, we felt genuinely welcomed. Our server was outstanding, knowledgeable about the menu, and always ready with a smile. He made great recommendations that turned out to be spot-on. The food was simply excellent — fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. Every dish was cooked to perfection!! We left feeling completely satisfied, and we’ll definitely be coming back on our next trip to Barcelona. I visited in March 2023 and I still talk about this restaurant often. The seafood paella is the best I’ve ever had. The crème brûlée had the perfect crust and level of sweetness. I hope to go back to Barcelona and go back here.

We went for a dinner and order the traditional Paella. It was delicious and all ingredients fresh.! We accompanied it with white wine which was ok! The portions could be bigger compared to the prices but overall it was very nice.! (Photo:plate wasn't deep)

Cam Sole, which is featured in Shadow of the Wind, surpassed my already high expectations. The food was superb and the service extraordinary. The location near the waterfront led to a wonderful walking experience.

Paella ofcourse! What I got the paella ofcourse! The typical one to that.. as a tourist.. ha. This was the second paella I had in Barcelona, and I really liked it. Everything was seasoned very well and tasted very good. No complains. I also got the razor claims - this to me was very new and different (personally I didn't like it). The crema Catalana was very good! I had around 3 of these and this one to me was the best.. (I am not local to barcelona.. I am still surveying). Environment Located in an off street on the main popular street. I didn't have a reservation and luckily was able to get a seat just an hour before the closing. They sat me at the front door, so I was not able to see the space. But I think there is quite a number of seating available, and even upstairs. Niceness of the staff Since I was very near to the door and the bar area.. which means I was always in the eyesight of the waiters and host. Also maybe I was a tourist, I was always on their minds? They were friendly and I was able to get my orders in with no problem Dollar It was decent I suppose, it was 24.40 per person for the paella and then the clams were 17.50. The bread costs! Yes I would recommend to other tourist alike haha..

Unfortunately Shrimps and clams are not fresh. Many shells are empty. Some clams taste funny. Definitely overpriced. U dun want to pay 25/person for this.

Excellent Seafood restaurant ! All seafood are fresh and they showed in the ice tray in front of the restaurant. They cooked them well, taste are so good. Lobster rice are superb. Definitely go back again if I come to Barcelona. Reservation are easy from this google map. English menu are available. Staff are helpful and English communication OK. Credit card accepted. Enjoy !

Amazing seafood- we had the fried calamari and baby squid (totally worth it!) They have nice big oysters. Lovely and attentive staff. Nice bathroom as well. Very Highly recommend

MariscCo offers a minimalist dining experience, focusing on quality over quantity. The food was undeniably fresh and well-prepared, with standout dishes like the grilled octopus, which was possibly the best thing we ordered. The anchovies and mixed fried seafood were also good, though the portions were a bit on the smaller side. The service was attentive and friendly, though I did find it a bit challenging when the bill came in Catalan—a small detail that might confuse non-local guests. We paired our meal with a wine called Afortunado, which turned out to be a delightful choice, complementing the seafood perfectly. Overall, the experience was enjoyable, with a bill of €71.30—a reasonable price for the quality offered, though the small portions and the language barrier might be minor points to consider.

Food was excellent! Had a seabass served on potatoes slices. Electricity was down in Spain but this restaurant had a back up. I didn’t have cash but the owner truster me to pay later! That was so kind!! (And if you wonder: yes, I paid :-)

We came by a recommendation, but the restaurant, is pretty expensive for the food that you get. I mean the value for money doesn’t worth it in my opinion. The food is good, service good be better. In the overall experience, it’s was fine but we won’t visit again, we left the restaurant a little bit hungry.

The best seafood in town by far. When you see locals gathering there along with Asians who truly know seafood quality that is a must go restaurant. Located in the heart of non tourist traffic and the price is amazingly cheap for all that you get. I am a regular there and can not stop treating myself for the most recent catch of seafood there is.

Skip the rest of the menu and just order seafood ! I've walked by here a thousand times and always just saw giant plates of it and now I know why! We tried the fried fish balls, asparagus with ham and tomato bread, all of which were kind of bland and lacked flavor. Thankfully we also ordered a seafood platter which saved the day as it was amazing! A huge portion for the price and it all tasted really fresh! Definitely come here for the seafood and don't worry about the rest !

Everyone here order a big plate of seafood to share. The portion s hugh, and seafood are plentyful. Very good in value. In terms of quality, you can tell the cigala and prawns are not fresh, but still very good in taste. For the price im paying, i do not have any complain about it. You may give it a try.

The food here was SO good! We came here twice during our one week stay in Barcelona! The food was just so good we had to come back! The portions were HUGE! So I definitely recommend ordering the 1/2 or 1/4 portions if there are just 2-3 people sharing. 2 of us split the bread with tomatoes, 1/4 portion octopus, 1/2 portion razor clam, 1/2 portion mussels, and 6 scallops. It was so much food! We were so full! We came around lunch time (2pm) on Sunday both times, and the place was packed! I recommend making a reservation! We got lucky, and they slid us in at the bar. We ordered sepia a la plancha, half portion of navajas a la plancha, half portion of solomillo de ternera with pimientos de padrón, and a quarter portion of pulpo con cachelos. The portions were larger than we expected, and we ended up really full — but everything was delicious.

You don’t go there for the service, you go for the fresh fish! But this time, the service was terrible. We were waiting to order dessert and our waiter left the restaurant when his shift ended. The replacement waiter screwed up both the dessert and coffee orders—when he could get to us. (To be fair, it was during a tremendous thunder storm, that filled the streets with water and we were outside on the terrace—although we did help the owner drop the rain awning.) Despite this, I will always return to O’Retorno, and you should too, if you like amazing fish.

Very god dinner, cod fitters were below average, the 🐙 octopus was good but not excellent the presentation was below average as too much potatoe, the shrimp 🦐 croquettes tasty and good, mussels excellent, scallop fantastic, then meat balls great, the churrasco was 😋, average price was 30 euros per person that was good as quantity quality relationship was great.

Amazing restaurant, absolutely recommend for some of the best fish dishes I have ever had, and the Iberian ham they serve as appetizer just melts in your mouth! In particular the ceviche is delicious! The staff is very friendly and helpful!

This dish exemplifies modern Spanish cuisine: Tartare of raw squid, carbonara ibérica, pine nuts. Carbonara is a Roman pasta sauce of cured pork jowl (guanciale), Pecorino cheese, and egg yolk. The guanciale here is not the typical industrial pork aged for 2 months, but one made by famed Spanish jamón producer Joselito using the finest pigs and aged for 12 months. If you've never had the rendered fat of jamón ibérico, it's hard to describe but the closest thing would be bacon fat, except no smoke but more intensity and astringency from the longer curing process. This fat is mixed into the carbonara sauce and turned into a foam. This dish is delicious, inventive, yet totally Spanish in its ingredients and techniques. I find many fancy restaurants are making dishes that are too international, lacking Spanish identity. That's fine if you're a local, but if you are visiting Barcelona, you don't want to have a dish that a restaurant back home can make too. Excellent, superb, from the beginning to the end, first class product modified only as much as needed, which is the Spanish philosophy when it when it comes to food. All dishes were remarkable, all full of umami, from the bread to the torrijas dessert!

We came to celebrate my daughter’s birthday and it was wonderful. The service was very good. We did the pairing and some of the dishes were amazing, others were not my favorite but the presentation was out of this world!! The wine and bubbly were very good. The restaurant is nice and welcoming (not staid/snooty). Would love to be back again.

My hotel concierge recommended this place. We went as soon as the restaurant opened at 20:30 on a Saturday night. Service was top notch. Food was very good overall; we could tell they used high quality seafood and put a lot of thought into each dish. Every dish was too salty however (even for my Americanized palate). I would’ve given it five stars otherwise. Sharing photos of the seafood soup, crab rice, and complimentary appetizer I had. Bread at the start of service was nice and warm, but fyi they charge for the bread which they serve without asking. For the quality of the food, I would go back especially to try their prix fixe menu, except I would ask for the food to be cooked less salty.

Amazing service and selection of wine. The food itself was very good but short of 5 star. Excellent presentation but flavor itself was lacking. Main: Fisherman seafood rice (this was on the english menu) basically a crab paella kind of dish. This was the weakest of the dishes and it was quite a chore to eat. i ended up just using my hands like we do in japan and sucking the meat out. Tuna tar tar was excellent. Dessert was very good. The in house made mexican vanilla was quite good.

My dining mate loves seafood so we had to try this restaurant and we were not disappointed. This was probably one of our favourite restaurants we tried on our trip. Great service and atmosphere. Highly recommend you make a reservation: it was packed (despite being 8pm) and we saw several people turned away. Hard to pick highlights, because everything was so delicious but some knockouts: 1. Oysters: I'm not a big oyster fan, but the seasoned oysters were WOW. The sauces complemented the oysters so perfectly -- creamy, tangy, verdant 2. Scallops: original take on scallops, which were served warm and sliced. 3. Clams: oh my goodness, these clams. They were served with Agua de Lourdes (which we had never tried); they were sour, creamy and unforgettable 4. Tomato salad: acidic and extremely satisfying. A sleeper hit. Would definitely come back. Thank you for the wonderful experience!

We stopped in for lunch, have to say one of the best meals I have had in Barcelona. The clams were really exceptional the seafood in general was very good. Would certainly recommend. It was also quite reasonable priced for the quality. I would return for sure.

Possibly one of the best meals I’ve had in Barcelona. From the fun ambience to incredibly friendly service, this restaurant is a must for seafood lovers. The seafood mixed plate, clams, and Galician prawns were incredibly fresh and cooked to perfection. The bread and seaweed butter were perfect for soaking up the extra sauce so nothing went to waste. The standout dish of the night was the catch of the day ceviche. The fish was fresh and almost sweet and perfectly complemented by the dill sauce emulsion. All of the bites felt like a curated experience, and elevated everything I thought I knew about seafood. I will be thinking about this meal for a long time, and hope to be back soon.

One of the best dinners of my life! Ranked in top 5 all time. The food was sublime, combinations of flavors, service, ambiance, & music. A pleasant dinner but we expected finer tastes. It all tasted good and the croquetas de pollo with tartar de gambas was the most successful dish. Just a bit short of deliciousness. I will go to other places on my Barcelona list before coming back to Batea.

This was my first time dining at Batea in BCN. I was a little hesitant at first because of the hefty no-show or cancellation fee, but it totally makes sense now! We tried a bit of everything, ceviche, croquettes, paella, and dessert, and everything was truly chef’s kiss. Every plate was curated to perfection, and every bite was a culinary experience. Batea is definitely a must-visit when in BCN.

Very good restaurant! The food was super fresh and tasty, service is perfect. We ordered grilled sea bass 1.2 Kg (60€), grilled razor clams, bread with tomato, white wine (15€), two coffee and one dessert. The overall price was 110€ per 2 people. We were also offered some sweet cakes and liquors as a complement. The place is recommended!

Recommended to us by our taxi driver, the restaurant was alright. The fish was good and quite fairly priced, compared to other restaurants in Barcelona. Portions were generous, so be careful not to over-order.

Last day at Barcelona! We loved the part-time guy singing but the volume was a little too loud and we couldn’t have a conversation. Unfortunately the table were we were seated had a lot of people coming and going and my seat was pushed around by a passing waiter. We really enjoy and eat seafood regularly so we excitedly order our dinner. The bread that they gave us as we sat down was to pay and we didn’t know that until at the check because €4. Let’s talk about the flavors! The soup was extremely salty.. the octopus was a let down because both the octopus and potatoes underneath it didn’t had any flavor, we could only taste the oil that we added (that was found on the table). The mix of seafood had SO LITTLE meat plus we can positively tell you that we ate quite a bit of sand in 2 razor clams. Me and my friend were ready to split the check but the waiter went directly to my friend, maybe because he’s a guy.. We were caught off guard when the waiter asked how much tip he was going to give and he wasn’t joking. The check came €77,40 are we were willing to give €80, so my friend say that we were going to pay €80, but the waiter insisted that the minimum for him is €5 and kept exclusively talking to him, that’s when my friend felt a lot of pressure at looked at me as a help sign, so I spoke up, asking if €80 was ok, but nothing, the waiter didn’t even looked at me even if he clearly heard me, he stood there pressing my friend to give more for what seem hours.. we were forced to tip him a number that was of his liking. I sincerely hope that you’ll think more than twice before coming here spending your money and your precious time.

So first it is a really noce location and service is really good. All the seafood courses were great! But i have to do 3 stars here because of the sauce really not fitting to the stirloin and the caramelized sugar on the cataloan cream being burned...thats just not up to it...you just can not burn caramelized sugar

We had reservations about waterfront restaurants as they not only tend to be overpriced but also include hidden charges; so we were pleasantly surprised when we came out of La Fonda not only unscathed but utterly enamored with its service! We ordered a mix of a la carte dishes and going for the menu del dia at a very reasonable price including 3 courses and beverage of choice - a whole bottle of wine (yes, a whole bottle), cava or water. Throughout service we were constantly reassured that whatever was sent was part of the menu including a lot of other complimentary items that weren't part of the menu either! The food and service were very decent with generous portions and of course the patient and understanding server who probably sensed our initial trepidation. The biggest takeaway was probably just how good the value of our dining experience it was and the packed tables certainly proved that they're the real deal. TLDR; thought it was shady but turned out to be really legit, you could say I'm Fonda the restaurant 😉

A good restaurant, all the dishes were excellent, but the grilled fish surpassed everything! A very familiar atmosphere but very noisy, I think that's normal for a place like this. The waiter who served us was very friendly and attentive :) but please make a reservation when you go there, we waited about an hour before we could be seated, it's not a place where people eat quickly.

This was amazing! The staff was very sweet and the food was super fresh and tasty. It seemed that there was only two servers for the whole restaurant in the evening so service may be slower than usual because of the business of the restaurant but the food and drinks make up for it! Make sure you get the Sangria!!!

The zamburinas were delicious! Unfortunately took a while to get anyone to take care of me even though the place was fairly empty. Menu had some interesting stuff but they were running out of stuff pretty quickly at 2:30 pm on Sunday . I may go again to make sure the food was so good

Family style restaurant with dining area to seat up to 20 people. Friendly staff, busy, best to make reservations. We found the Paella (rice and sea food selection) and Calamari fries we ordered to be a bit salty 🧂 It is best to book in advance and let the restaurant know you prefer less salty. The ingredients (seafood) were fresh and well prepared. You are looking at about 40 euros per person.

Wow what a phenomenal experience if it's your first time coming to Barcelona or if you're a local looking for a good food Cal Pep is the one. The quality of the food is superb there's so much variety with a lot of the dishes, since there's no menu everything is a pleasant surprise. The chefs are very skilful as each dish tastes lovely with the Catalan style. The staff were very friendly and provided good service. The ambiance is the right balance. Easy 10/10

I’m always a little anxious when I try a place with the level of renown of Cal Pep for the first time. Will it really live up to the reputation? Will the crowd ruin the experience? Will the staff betray a whiff of a restaurant that is buckling under the weight of expectations? Nothing could be farther from the truth here. This is an excellent restaurant. The service is dialed in; attentive, fast and friendly. The dishes you have heard about are as good as you are expecting. It’s not that hard to get a reservation, really. The prices are reasonable! Sometimes a restaurant is exactly as good as you’ve heard, and you get it immediately. This is a place like that. Don’t miss it!

Absolutely perfect! The food was outstanding, and the space felt authentic, warm, and charming. However, it’s the staff who truly deserve the most credit for making this such a phenomenal experience. Their kindness, attention, and genuine hospitality made us feel completely at home. This is something everyone should experience — a shining example of what true hospitality should look like. What a delightful discovery. This intimate restaurant offers a unique and lively dining experience, with counter seating at the front and a handful of small tables tucked away at the back. Reservations appear to be accepted only for larger groups, so most guests join the line outside. On our visit, the wait was approximately 18 minutes, during which we enjoyed a glass of house-made sangria — fresh, balanced, and an excellent start to the evening. The atmosphere is bustling, full of energy, and reflective of a kitchen that cooks everything à la minute. Incredibly, the restaurant has been operating for over 40 years without a written menu. Instead, guests are guided through the experience by the staff, who inquire about preferences, dislikes, and any allergies before tailoring the selection of dishes. The service was warm and personable throughout. Peter, who looked after us, brought genuine enthusiasm and knowledge to the table, walking us through each course with a sense of pride that elevated the experience. Our meal began with bruschetta topped with sautéed mushrooms, followed by a perfectly executed Spanish tortilla and croquettes. For the main courses, my partner enjoyed langoustines while I was served tender octopus in consideration of my allergy. We then shared a beautifully cooked steak with potatoes, before finishing with a hearty dish of sausage and beans — all simple in presentation but delivered with precision and bold flavor. This restaurant combines charm, hospitality, and honest cooking, creating an experience that feels both personal and memorable. With its convivial atmosphere and consistently well-prepared food, it is absolutely worth the wait in line. We look forward to returning.

Absolutely incredible tapas restaurant focusing on only the freshest ingredients expertly served. Our servers Sofian and Oscar were top notch and made excellent wine suggestions allowing us to enjoy excellent Spanish wines with the most amazing tapas.

The atmosphere is nice–we went relatively early and could get a table right away and didn't have to wait in line for a long time. I don't know if the people in line we passed on the way out would say the same. Some food was really good (tuna tartare, grilled calamari, solomillo) some both my wife and I really didn't like (the clams with jamon). What I didn't appreciate is the lack of menu and transparency on prices (I see this is a common comment in other reviews as well). Waiters will essentially list to you tapas options that will cost 20-26 euros. Our waiter kind of mentioned in passing (mostly because he misunderstood a question we had) that we should expect to spend 35-40€ per person. It ended up being 50 per person, which could be fine given the area is primarily frequented by tourists, but what isn't great is that you don't know how much you are spending until the end. I feel a printed out menu would fix most of the negative reviews and comments. On the plus side, drinks (at least water and wine by the glass) are extremely fairly priced.

Located near the beach but sufficiently away from the crowds. A few more fans in the terrace/tent to cope with the summer heat would’ve been nice. Service was pretty good and attentive. Appetizers were mostly delicious. The portions were pretty large (even though stated for two people). The peeled prawn paella was delicious. But we were unfortunately disappointed with the fideua that felt rather overcooked.

Very amazing and welcoming hosts who got us seated right away. We got an inside seating and the AC inside was very refreshing to say the least.They were very kind in responding to our emails as well and were very very accommodating. Jairo was amazing and was our host for the noon. He got our orders evenly spaced out and as well kept checking on our needs and as well replaced our plates and silverware in the midst to make sure we got to taste the prawns and the octopus afresh. We ordered only the starters as we were late into our lunch and had an early dinner scheduled for the evening. We got the Zucchini carpaccio with cheese , garlic carbinero prawns and galician style octopus with potato slices and the pardon peppers. Delicious would be an understatement and these starters were to die for. Made perfect in balance and harmony amongst the ingredients and the spices and very very very fresh. Do give them a try and thank me later!!

Can Majó Restaurant – Barcelona 🌊🍤 If you’re in Barcelona and don’t eat the seafood paella at Can Majó, you’re missing out. Hands down one of the best seafood paellas of our lives. We were lucky enough to sit right on the beach — toes in the sand, wine in hand, watching the sea while that golden paella hit the table. Unreal. The service was great, the reviews don’t lie. Walk all the way down to the beach, get a table outside if you can (or beg for one), order the seafood paella, a cold bottle of Spanish white, and just be happy. Pure Barcelona magic.

Absolutely fantastic experience! Can Majó offers authentic Catalan seafood at its best — fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The paella marinera was outstanding, full of rich taste and fresh prawns. The service was friendly, the atmosphere relaxing by the sea, and every dish felt like a piece of Barcelona’s soul. This beachside restaurant delivered one of the best meals we had in Barcelona — and the view was absolutely incredible, right by the sand with the Mediterranean stretching out in front of us. It doesn’t get more “by the beach” than this. We started with warm bread and olives, followed by croquettes and fresh calamari that was perfectly crisp and tender. A chilled pitcher of sangria set the tone — fruity, refreshing, and ideal for a seaside lunch. The real star was the paella. We’ve tried paella at some of Barcelona’s most talked-about spots, but this one stood out as one of the very best. The squid ink paella, in particular, was spot on — rich, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. Every bite captured the essence of fresh seafood. Between the unbeatable view, excellent service, and standout food, this was easily one of the most memorable meals of our trip. A true gem for anyone looking for authentic seafood and paella with the bonus of a stunning beachfront setting.

The place has sea view. Its design is so nice and they always have nice music. The paella was so great. The drinks and the dessert, not so much though.

We were at the beach and decided to have lunch at Can Fisher, what a great idea!! Food was outstanding like a top notch restaurant. We asked about the grilled fish, and they brought us a platter with all catches of the day available at the moment. It’s just so fresh. We ordered a grilled sea bass that came with grilled vegetables that were sooo tasty. The fish was grilled to perfection and delicious. The green salad was so fresh, that it felt like they had just harvested it. The mussels a la marinera were so delicious that we had to order a second portion because the kids ate it all. Ordered a Hugo spritz and it was so refreshing and huge. The view is obviously the cherry on the top. Highly recommend it. I might come back a second time before I leave.

Amazing location overlooking the beach. They offer a wide range of fresh fish and seafood. We opted for the black rice paella, which was delicious. The burrata salad was very nice with the fruity twist.

The portions were very generous, which is great if you’re really hungry. However, I personally didn’t enjoy the taste, it was too greasy and quite plain for my liking. On the positive side, the atmosphere was nice and the service was very fast and efficient.

Had dinner here while on a weekend trip to Barcelona. It was very busy which was a good sign. I didn't have a reservation but was seated in less than 10 minutes. Everything on the menu looked good but I wasn't that hungry. I ordered the Picanha Brasilena A La Piedra which they bring out uncooked and a hot plate and you cook it to your liking which was nice. Cuts of meat were good and the fries were excellent. Also I ordered a side of grilled Chorizo which was very good as well. Great wine selection and a friendly and helpful staffed. I highly recommend going hungry and check out a few plates.

The food was amazing and delivered quickly. It was very busy and I see why considering how good the food was. Even though it was very busy and we didn’t have a reservation, they were able to clear a table and seat us right away. Loud, pub vibe but it was nice. Good service and able to speak English if you cannot speak Spanish.

We are spending 5 days in Barcelona on our trip through Europe and stumbled upon this gem the first night… basically the best paella and meal on our whole trip. Returned a second night just for tapas and was again 10/10. Very busy so booked both nights. What is amazing is the price, the atmosphere and above all the service. The waiters are extremely efficient and helpful and warm and greeting. We are going back on our last night for a farewell paella!

Best food I’ve had in Barcelona. Came here two consecutive nights for dinner. I’d highly recommend the octopus with eggplant puree, sangria and paella. Maybe skip on the razor clams as they were sandy.

El Cangrejo Loco is a charming, upscale seafood restaurant with a great atmosphere and an unbeatable location right by the sea. The fish is fresh and beautifully prepared, the menu is varied, and the service is friendly and professional. The terrace is a true highlight – spacious, elegant, and with stunning views of the water. A perfect spot for a relaxed lunch or a special dinner. For the quality of food, setting, and service, the value for money is absolutely fair. Stylish yet unpretentious – I’d definitely return.

My friend and I had a really good seafood lunch here! We order menu of the day, which includes one cold, one hot entrees, one main and one dessert. We also topped it up with a bottle of white wine! They all delicious, I especially like the lobster and shrimps. They tasted very fresh. Paring it with white wine they recommend for me is cherry on the top! The staff is very friendly and helpful! One of them told me that he is from Pakistan and shared that most of the staff have worked in here for more than 20 years, the service level is of guaranteed. Oh did we mention, that you can have a seaview while you are savoring for your food! It’s a great spot to dine with friends while enjoying the great view! We paid 77 Euro for lunch, which is value for money! I would totally recommend this if you’d like to try good sea food while you are in the city.

The place was full on the upper part, so we walk down and found an empty oasis to have a magic dinner. Food was good and service excellent! Menu of night 25.5€ without drink is honest! Carlos our waiter was very lovely all night, serving us with very gentle actitude and suggesting us the right plates in menu. I give a 5 star rating as a whole and because service was very very kind and gentle from Carlos. We Will come back!

The location on the water is the best part of this restaurant. It has great views and situated perfectly to people watch and take in the waterfront. That’s its best side unfortunately. Admittedly I was with a tour group but I thought the service was fairly rough as though they wanted us fed and out, the food poor, the wine cheap, but the tapas was great. The toilets were pretty bad and for the €79 I paid ( some of which goes to the tour company) I was pretty disappointed.

such a crowded restaurant, I had to wait about 15 minutes to use the restroom. The bathroom was not clean. The prices are not cheap, but since it's a touristy place, I understand. I'm willing to pay a high price for good food — but the food was really bad! It was too salty and completely unpalatable!! I don't recommend this place for food, maybe just for a drink.

We went here after an afternoon on the nearby beach. It's close to the harbour and the Aquarium. Excellent service, friendly smiley, helpful staff. Food was traditional, classic and delicious. Good range of wines. Choice of indoor or outdoor seating. We are outdoors in a covered court yard with large ceiling fans. Nearby was another courtyard with jazz and swing music and a dance floor. People were very lively and jiving being away! Nice street art nearby.

Sat outside overlooking the harbour. Lovely views. Staff were friendly and helpful. It is a seafood and fish restaurant but has a few meat dishes. My girlfriend saw a cut beef item and I'd not heard of it and it was fantastic. But was also huge so bring your appetite!

Outside as Seagull are humongous and will stick around. Don’t give them food as more will come. Food is good. But slow service. We waited half an hour for the appetizers and another 30 mins for the main course. Even though we ordered them together!

I visited Chipiron in Barcelona again after 10 years, and it was just as good as I remembered. The paella is still the best, with a beautiful view and a pleasant atmosphere. A big thank you to Habib for his kindness.

I had a really nice lunch at Mar Salada during my time in Barcelona. It's a great spot for anyone looking for a solid, authentic Spanish meal without too much fuss.I started with the fried calamari, which was very good—crispy and not at all greasy. The bread they served was fresh and a nice touch. For my main, I had the rice and chicken. The dish was well-cooked and flavorful, with tender chicken and nicely seasoned rice. It was a satisfying and tasty main course.I also tried their sangria, and it was definitely a highlight—very refreshing and well-made.Overall, Mar Salada provided a very pleasant dining experience with good food and a relaxed atmosphere.

Great location next to the water and sunset. Seafood paella was pleasant. We also have black ink croquette, octopus salad, and razor clams - all of them were delicious. Sadly, the Norway shrimp rice was too salty to our taste, otherwise everything lives up to expectation! Attentive service, nice dining ware, great atmosphere, many attentions put into detail.

Went for lunch here around 15:00 and ordered the Paella with my partner. Service was excellent and the vibe was okay. However the food was just okay at best — really salty for our taste. We wished there were more seafood in our plate for what we paid for.

I'm always wary of restaurants along a main thoroughfare for tourists, and I should have stayed away, mainly because they do scam people. This was recommended by the receptionist at our hotel as the best paella in the city and while the paella did taste good, I wouldn't say it was the best. My main gripe is that they have a minimum of 2 portions per paella. This means that for a 2-person paella, it costs 50€, which is ridiculous and a complete scam. Had I read the menu more clearly, I would have avoided this place. And the tapas are rather small for the price. We ordered the special of Delta oysters with caviar and paid 5€ per oyster that came without caviar. When we tried to explain, he said it was just the normal one. All in all, one of the most expensive and rough dining experiences I've had. It was good service and nice outdoor dining space, but I still can't get over the 50€ paella...

The shopping center is right on the seashore, which makes it interesting and attractive. However, there is not a very large offer or stores of more expensive brands, and the air conditioning inside does not seem to exist, which is a big minus. It also does not look new, modern and tidy. It seems that Barcelona does not have many modern and beautiful shopping centers (which certainly does not diminish the value of this city in the least).

There’s something lacking about this mall. For one, the food and drink options are very limited. While the entrance and location are actually quite nice, it still doesn’t offer a complete experience. It could have a more modern style and feel safer overall.

A medium size shopping mall directly at the seafront of Barcelona. On the top floor you can find Timeout Market hall with over 13 food stalls and bars. The open terrace is a great spot to enjoy food and have a drink. The V17 bus stop is right in front of Maremagnum.

Toilets inside the shopping area.Free babies changing area. Cost 1.50 euros and you can pay by card or cash. Change given if paid by coins. There was an attendant. When you pay by card give it a few seconds while it gets the payment then the light changes to green if you have a pram they will open the side door for you. Very clean inside.

Large shopping center that has many international brands, as well as some local brands. The Time Out Market on the second floor is the main food court area, and outside there is an open area where they rent small electric vehicles for small kids to drive. The facility was clean and well-maintained.

The octopus and potatoes in the dish were spoiled, which we noticed halfway through eating. We informed the waiter, and they replaced the dish with a new one. However, when we mentioned the issue again while paying the bill, the waiter responded with a very indifferent attitude, which was quite disappointing. Moreover, the prices at this restaurant are relatively high, but the quality of the food does not justify the cost. Given the poor service and the mismatch between price and quality, it’s hard to recommend this place.

Food is good. Service is decent, but I think quite clearly tourists missed out by not speaking Spanish. Service warmed up after trying to speak some Spanish. I know this city has a polarizing view toward tourists, but I already speak 4 languages, English being the most international language I know. Accepts credit cards. Gets busy during meal hours.

I didn‘t expect that the food in this restaurant was full and fresh. The environment is very comfortable with air conditioning and ventilation systems. It is very comfortable to sit on the first floor downstairs, and the light is beautiful. The three-colour puzzle craft made by wood chips looks very advanced. I highly recommend the seafood platter. It’s so delicious and fresh. There are no extra seasonings. It‘s a perfect combination of sea salt, olive oil, garlic and green onions. It is especially worth mentioning that we are sitting downstairs. The staff in charge of us is so friendly and careful. He is Masud😆I was very touched by his service. It is absolutely professional. Recommended for those who love seafood! The cake is delicious and the red wine is the feeling of dancing happily on the tip of the tongue.

Completely impressed with the food, the service, the atmosphere. Wish I could’ve made time to visit again while in Barcelona. The drinks were fantastic. Started with some red house wine, then some Estrella beer and to top off the night a few shots of what tasted like absinthe. The night was amazing

When I walked into this restaurant it felt like walking into a 5 Star restaurant with the meticulous details in their preparation. Their staff was professional and very kind. They were passionate about the food they served and proud of the recommendations we asked them to provide. Of course the best part was the food. We had a traditional paella that was the best that we ever had. We scraped the skillet clean. My father-in-law who is not easy to impress said the spaghetti bolagnase was the best he ever had. It was a great atmosphere and I would highly recommend this place!

Excellent! A creative menu with delicious seafood: the octopus is a must! The waitress was very helpful in checking what could be made gluten free and also stopped us from over-ordering, which was appreciated! In fact all the staff were lovely. The only thing that could be improved is having a menu which shows what is/can be made gluten free (rather than what contains gluten) and including the tasting menu.

Brought my mom and friend here for dinner and was very excited to try the seafood soup and octopus. Everything was good (salty at times) but not amazing for the price that it was. I guess I was just expecting a little more..

Came here for dinner due to strong reviews on line. Wasn't disappointed. Cocktails are their forte along with very fresh fish. We started with an octopus tapas on a rice bed dusted with paprika. Then we ate some ceviche. The shrimp had been marinated in orange juice and thinned with gaspacho. Definitely different from Lima. Very good! Our black rice gambas was also very good. Fun restaurant. Highly recommend.

A hip location with a relaxed and tropical vibe. Good selection of meat and seafood starters, as well as many variations of paella on the menu. Reservation is highly recommended, and it may take quite some time until the service attends to you on a busy night. But all in all: A great place to dine with style!

I had the best experience here!!! We did a walk in and were sat right away. The food lived up to the hype, it was DELICIOUS. I got the seafood paella, mussel casserole, and desert. For a high end restaurant, we paid half what we would have at a similar quality restaurant back home. The ambiance of the restaurant is so cute. Can’t recommend this place enough.

The service was magnificent, the staff was very friendly, they also been helpful in explaining the dishes. I came for lunch here with my fiancée for her birthday, the staff made themselves available for a little surprise during dessert, we really enjoyed it. All dishes were tasty, the sangria was fresh and well done according to the Spanish tradition.

Paella was really good! Love the design of the restaurant as well. At first we booked the terrace thinking it won’t be hot, as we came during the summer, so we changed to indoors which was much better. Amazing to see the open kitchen with the infinite amount of paellas as well

The food was good and as per locals, this is the best paella. However make sure you go in a group pf 3 or 4 as when ordering paella, it needs to be ordered for a minimum of 2 people. It was made fresh. Overall good experience, just that post lunch service tends to be a bit slow, however it was compensated by the hostess’s politeness and warmth.

Wonderful vibe in the restaurant with excellent service and great food. We were welcomed by a friendly lady at the desk. We were a bit early, but our table was ready within a couple of minutes. Spacious setup of the tables with a nice view on the open kitchen. We ordered a variety of dishes and everything was cooked to perfection. The mango parmesan salad was a surprisingly balanced symphony of flavours. The duck was super tender and tasty. The Paella was the most flavourful we ever had. The decor is beautiful, the location is amazing, also for a walk along the beach after dinner. The staff is enthusiastic and really enjoying it, which makes all the difference! No frills tapas spot that’s perfect for a quick lunch and a favourite of Anthony Bourdain. Seemingly loved by locals and tourists alike, they offer a short menu of simple specialties that are certain to hit the spot. I had the fried anchovies and tomato bread topped with sausage. The service was excellent and straight to the point. Seating is limited so some choose to stand and eat at the bar. A must visit for anyone traveling to Barcelona.

A tiny but very cosy and authentic place not far from the shore. The place is buzzing with locals having beer or local wine. There are only 4 tapas available (fried anchovies, toast with anchovy, toast with sausage, tomato & onion salad) but all four very tasty, especially the fried anchovies. I highly recommend!

It's a great place. It's a very small and cozy place. Sometimes you have to eat standing up, but it's worth it. The tapas are delicious and very cheap, but the portions are very small. Only local people come. It is not well known to tourists. You can have a quick bite and continue spending time in the old town.

Suppose to be Anthony Bourdain’s favorite place to visit in Barcelona. Just 4 items on the menu so while it’s nothing fancy, the food is really homely and there’s lots of locals dropping by for a quick bite before heading off. Traditional tapas bar with great and delicious food options. Their vermut is kinda the star, but the service is super good too. There is a butifarra there amazing and the pescaditos(small fried fishes) goes really well with the vermut or the beer

This place was suggested to me by my friend and allegedly it is a very good place for paella and any other rice dishes. It seems to be true, because everyone in this restaurant was ordering paella. However, I can't say it's the best paella I ever had. Actually, it is pretty mediocre to my taste. It could be that I had high expectations, but it is what it is. Another thing, they have no concept of serving the water. I ordered 3 bottles, and all the time, the waiter was bringing a bottle but left us to pour water to the glasses ourselves. I liked their octopus.

Non-touristy paella. Unlike most of the paella places in BCN, this was a much more authentic recipe. Always look at the rice! If it’s yellow, it’s a tourist trap. If it’s caramel brown, you’re in good hands. Our native Barcelona friends brought us here.

The food was amazing, I had the orange duck with mashed sweet potatoes and my partner had the sirloin with shallots, I didn’t want the dish to end! Both cuts were cooked perfectly. Located in a busy area with a lot to do. The restaurant kitchen is on the main floor and seating is downstairs. The dining area was very charming with old stone walls with a modern lighting. The tomato bread is so good and I'm really enjoying this local appetizer. The seafood paella had two large shrimps with plenty of clams and mussels. The dish is cooked fresh and the rice is cooked perfectly with some crust around the edge. The price is extremely reasonable and the seasoning on the paella is flavorful.

I have ordered carbonara and my wife ordered calamari a la romana, carbonara was made with cheap ham and some dried cheese not Parmesan and the taste was completely awful, my wife dish was as floating in palm oil and again was completely disgusting.

We tasted many dishes... first of all a table was dirty, margarita cocktail was served without salt, sweet potato fries were raw. I bet my shrimps were from the freezer not fresh. Some food was good (fish) some was plain (fried seafood, lamb)

We had a Groupon voucher, so let's start with dessert, crema catalán was ok, but the layer was so thin that it was more for a child than an adult. Salad was ok but could do with some dressing as was a bit dry, invest in thick balsamic vinegar or something. Artichokes were good. Fideuá vegetarian was really good. Idea with teddy bears was good, brought some life to the place. Some more decorations and it will be much better.

This place was recommended by a friend. We ordered a 3 course meal with a bottle of red wine priced at €22 and it didn’t disappoint. We ordered a variety of fried food for appetizer, then herbed salmon for me and seafood paella for Neil for main, vanilla ice cream and pudding for dessert. I am not exaggerating but everything was tasty, I specially liked the salmon and will definitely go back for that. It’s a plus that the staff were friendly😊

Good restaurant. There are many similar ones along the street. Staff spoke enough English so no problem. Had a fish that wasn't cooked well enough for me, and they quickly fixed it. I learned there is no salad dressing, it's just oil and vinegar. Overall a good experience.

Was escorted in by what I can only imagine is the owner. Had Paella and a few entrees. The seafood was clearly frozen and not the disney kind, the fried squid was invisible amongst the batter and the patatas bravas was average. When I got the cheque the waiter basically demanded for a tip. And the whole time the owner played loudly on the guitar in my ear while I stewed on regret. Pass.

I don't know if the waiter didn't like us as people or if he was just in a bad mood. We weren't welcome there. He never came up to us during our entire stay in the restaurant, to order something else or pay we had to go up to them. The man at the entrance was nice and smiling, but not a waiter. During our stay at Hotel Universal Barcelona, we decided to try a nearby restaurant, and it turned out to be one of the best decisions of our trip. Just a five-minute walk from the hotel, this place exceeded our expectations in every way. The food was exceptional, with the octopus, oysters, and anchovies standing out as some of the best dishes we had during our entire visit to Barcelona. Every bite was a treat, and the quality of the ingredients was evident. The service was equally impressive. The staff were incredibly warm and passionate about what they were serving, making the experience feel personal and special. What really sealed the deal for us was the number of locals dining there. It's always a good sign when the locals choose to eat at a place, and we immediately felt welcomed and part of the atmosphere. Todo muy delicioso! The gambas were absolutely delicious, super juicy and cooked to perfection. The ceviche was really fresh, we ordered the aji amarillo and it had a nice little spicy kick. But the highlight for me were the mussels with a Thai twist, sooo freaking good, I ended up drinking the broth at the bottom as if it were soup haha! Service was very friendly and attentive from Leo and Luke, thank you for a great experience chicos!

Lascar 74 - NOT RECOMMENDED! We came based on a blogger’s recommendation. The restaurant has an unpleasant smell that makes you want to leave immediately. The prices aren’t low, but the food is NOT TASTY. Nothing special at all. We ordered oysters, shrimp, scallops, and potatoes. It was just okay, nothing more. There were also a lot of Russian-speaking guests in the restaurant, which made it obvious that the promotion was paid for by the restaurant 😢. We trusted the blogger’s recommendation for nothing 😭😭😭.

Delicious ceviche! I got the house special ceviche and the passionfruit sour… perfect combo 😋 The service was great and good atmosphere for eating by yourself or even big groups, it seems accommodating to everyone. The price was very reasonable for the quality of fish. We will definitely return!

Excellent ceviche. Great selection of natural wines. I’m not fluent in Spanish yet, but I spoke to one of the servers/bartenders in Spanish about what type of wine I wanted with dinner, and he graciously offered for me to try a cava he was recommending. Great service, and beautiful, relaxing spot.

While the ambiance was nice, I was taken aback by the pricing. €181 for just two dishes for two adults and a child feels excessive. If you're okay with paying a premium for what you get, then this might be the place for you. Otherwise, I suggest looking elsewhere for better value.

Most of the servers there were really nice, but our main server really gave us an attitude from the get-go, which was odd. We didn't have a reservation and were prepared to just move on to the next restaurant if there wasn't any space, but the very nice owner still let us in. That one server gave us a bad attitude for it though, as if we forced them to let us in 😭😭 Weird experience when it comes to service, but the food was good! A little bit on the salty side, but clearly very fresh!!! With octopus it's always easy to tell if it comes from the freezer, but this one was so tender and fresh, just great!

My third time visit here. Always they serce amazing fresh seafood. Red prawn from palamos (€45) is so good I could even eat the shell which was soft and tasty.

Went into this place after looking for seafood restaurants on Google maps round the Gothic Quarter. Went based on the reviews and thoroughly enjoyed it. From the outside it is a very unassuming looking place that you would easily walk past otherwise as you can't see the dining area that is at the rear past the kitchen area in the entrance. We went in at 20:00 and there were a couple of tables occupied but the place quickly filled up and was full by about 21:15. This gave a lively (and perhaps a little loud for some) atmosphere. The English menu isn't much help so it is best to ask about the dishes that are on the Spanish menu. It is a relaxed and friendly service by the small team. The seafood was exceptional. Had the Frutti de Mare to start followed by monkfish for main. Both were excellent and combined with a great bottle of white wine. After eating took the rest of wine and moved to a table next to the kitchen and saw loads of amazing dishes being prepared. The steak looked fantastic and definitely worth a return trip to try! It is fairly pricey - two mains, the shared seafood platter to start and bottle of white wine came to just over 100 euro but I think worth it for the quality of the food.

We paid 40€ for this paella for 2 persons. They will charge you with double the price of what is written on the menu. The food is alright but the parlla is very salty. If you confront them they will say its 20 euro for one person, but on the board they wroge that you cant order a parlla for 1 person. Its a scam for mid food and an uncomfortable room.

FRESH SEAFOOD GALORE!! 🦐 I was sleeping on this place until I finally decided to check it out after a seafood hankering. The seafood here is fresh; tell the cashier what you want from the seafood display (depends on availability) and the cook will cook/fry them for you on the spot. I ordered: * sea bass - brilliant * fried squid - delicious * gambas/shrimp - fresh, love the sauce * razor clams - super fresh Come here for no-frills amazing seafood.

Wonderful easy restaurant for fish and seafood lovers. On first sight, Peix d‘Or isn’t a upper class seafood place. On second it isn’t either. Once you enter the place you get greeted by a counter with lots and lots of fresh fish and seafood. The friendly staff navigates you through choosing the right fish for your meal. The fish you choose will be billed by actual weight and cooked freshly on order. As soon as the kitchen is done you will be called by a buzzer to pick up your stuff since the place is kind of a self service place. All this simplicity leads to an extraordinary tasteful experience of freshly grilled fish for a real cheap price. I would totally recommend this place since it’s an cheaper, simpler and more casual experience than going to any fine dining place in BCN. The taste of all the different dishes we tried was despite the reasonable price wonderful!

We found this seafood gem on our first night in Barcelona while looking a place to dine-in. The staffs are very friendly and explained to us how to order and asked us how we wanted our fresh seafood cooked! Yes the seafood you will buy is fresh and you pay per kg and they cook it for you. I ended up ordering a whole lot my eyes can see. I highly recommend this place as they serve fresh and good food.

Go here if you’re hungry for sea food! Fab experience picking your food from the well stocked ice counter.. then collecting your food once cooked from a serving hatch. We over ordered - Patatas, razor clams, muscles, octopus, squid, white bait and baby eels.. probably 3 dishes too many - but it’s hard to translate raw fish to cooked food when you have an array of choice! All of it was delicious though! The restaurant opened @ 8:30 - we were able to pass an hour before dinner in the bar next door.

Small restaurant that offers a super fresh fish. The fish are on the ice, you select what you want to eat and they cook for you. Beside that you can also order some Spanish dishes such as paella. Service is very kind and super helpful

We weren’t impressed by the paella and fideuà. The shrimp were not peeled and still had quite a bit of grit inside. It would have been better if they were either served in their shells properly or cleaned more thoroughly. Other than that, the place is quite nice and the staff were friendly and helpful.

Walking past this restaurant the day before made us look forward all day for this dinner. Next day came and first thing we see is Sebastian running for his life in the fish tank. Nevertheless, it wasn’t our concern and we carried on with our night. We ordered croquetas de Jamon, calamares a la andaluza and Fideua. Croquets were alright (2/5) wouldn’t order again, calamari (3/5) well seasoned, Fideua( 1/5) and Crema Catalana. Now, I’ve had many paellas and Fideuas in my life, my mums makes them all the time and my uncles too, and I can tell you this was miserable. I think it’s something that can’t be cooked in the time it took us to order and have it delivered. Anyone who has never tried it before will probably enjoy it, but anyone who says it’s the best things they’ve eaten here probably has no taste receptors. The dessert was very sad too, it was something I’ve looking forward to have for a while and where better than in Barcelona. It was flavourless aswell, no substance to it. I’d rather have some natillas Danone instead. Overall it was a mid experience, brought down by the dissatisfaction and disappointment of the meal. Our first night in Barcelona we walked 1 minute from our hotel to have some paella. The restaurant was a recommendation from the front desk. We were not disappointed. The calamari was tender and flavorful as well as the other appetizers. Once the paella arrived we were excited. It was filled with shrimp, mussels, and scallops. My first meal was a success. Oh and for dessert, there was Ferrero Rocher cake that was to die for. What a wonderful experience!

Great place, we went twice and had the paella and the fried seafood, all food tasted amazing, very fresh. The service was amazing all staff was kind and funny. Definitely recommended, thanks for the great time.

The restaurant looks nice both inside and out. The outside part does not have a view of the sea but of the street, but there is good shade and a cooling system with water spraying. As for the food, which is the most important thing, I didn't like the paella with red prawns because the rice was overcooked in several places and it has a strong seafood taste. The portion is really big enough for two people. Also, for my taste, the paella is not seasoned enough and there are plenty of places in Barcelona where you can eat better. The seafood soup is commendable with a lot of seafood. But the paella is really disappointing and that's why the rating is 3, especially considering the price of it.

Overall it was a nice lunch. Some of the negatives reviews are a bit negative. The price for what you pay is very reasonable for the paellas. The rice is always a little bit burned on the pan (it's normal) a good arroz is always a little bit burned at the bottom so don't be surprised. We were very surprised with the pan con tomate y deserts 👌 both the ice-cream and pistachio desert were tasty.

Amazing seafood and sangria. We were staying in the next door hotel and kept coming back to La Marea for its great quality and taste. Definitely one the best in Barcelona!!

Absolutely everything is very tasty. I especially liked the fish "Rape". The service is good, everything is fast. The interior is old and not particularly aesthetic or modern. But the main thing here is the food, and it is really top-notch! I will come here again!

Food was bland, razor clams had so much sand, definitely weren’t cleaned. Scallops were overcooked, clams were a mess (some under and some overcooked). Even after cleaning the razor clams myself, you could hear the sand crackle with every bite.

It is my favourite restaurant in Barcelona. The seafood is always very fresh, done impeccably, with some salt and nice olive oil and everything tastes divine. Prices are quite moderate for this kind of restaurant and the service is great. Hidden gem.

A Wonderful Seafood Experience at El Camarote de Tomás We had an amazing dinner at El Camarote de Tomás! Every seafood dish we tried was incredibly fresh, full of flavor, and beautifully prepared. The grilled prawns, baby squid, scallops with herb sauce, and even the rare goose barnacles were all exceptional. One of the highlights was the fresh fish salad topped with tomato and olive oil — so light, refreshing, and perfectly seasoned. The sangria was chilled and delicious, and the tiramisu dessert was smooth and rich — the perfect ending to a great meal. Service was also top-notch. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made us feel truly welcome. If you’re in the area and love seafood, don’t miss this restaurant. Highly recommended!

The seafood here is quite excellent, especially the big red prawn is so juicy and tasty. The Spanish percebes are quite tasty but very troublesome to eat, but is an interesting experience and they do allow you to order a small portion just to try. The wine by the glass is just so so and they do have a limited choice of wine selection especially when you do it by glass. Service wise friendly and helpful. Atmosphere the restaurant is a bit tiny. The entrance might be a difficult to find when the restaurant name is not on it……

Came here for lunch and wow, just wow. The seafood was incredibly fresh and delicious (and not cheap, but it was of very high quality). We ordered what was fresh/in-season based on what they laid out behind the glass. Highlights: 1. Baby squid: these were so succulent and delicious, served with an aioli on the side 2. Razor clams: the smallest razor clams I've ever seen but they packed a punch, served with a wonderful green sauce on the side 3. Carabineros prawn: rich, luxurious, simply cooked. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

Fantastic fresh seafood. Incredibly welcoming staff. We were there with our young daughter and they made sure she was looked after with a colouring book during the meal. The whole seam bream and raw prawns were amazing. Highly recommended.

This was the best seafood I've ever had. They've got a counter up front where they show you what they've got and you order from there. We had squid, prawns, shellfish, and bream. The fish was poached in oil and was incredible. The service was super friendly, attentive, and responsive -- Carina and Marc were our servers and are absolute professionals. I was specifically looking forward to Barcelona for its seafood. El Camarote de Tomas made it memorable.

Lovely authentic food, one of the best sea food restaurants, freshly made. The service was outstanding. We got a private dining room and our waiter Miguel was wonderful, even though there were language barriers he did his best to give us a great time!

As someone visiting Spain — and Barcelona — for the very first time, I had no idea my entire view on seafood was about to change. I’ve never enjoyed seafood in Texas, where I’m from. I always found it too fishy, too chewy, or just not fresh enough. So when I sat down at O’Peregrino, a cozy Galician restaurant tucked away in Barcelona, I honestly didn’t expect much. I ordered the Langostinos Frescos more out of curiosity than excitement. And wow — it completely blew me away. These fresh prawns were grilled simply with olive oil and sea salt, and they were absolutely perfect. Tender, sweet, and full of flavor, they didn’t have that overwhelming fishy taste I was used to back home. It was the first time I understood why people love seafood. I also tried the pulpo a la gallega (Galician-style octopus) — another surprise favorite — and the empanadas, which were flaky and delicious. The staff was incredibly warm and made the whole experience feel like a family dinner. I paired my meal with a glass of crisp Albariño, which balanced the seafood beautifully. O’Peregrino didn’t just serve me a great meal — it gave me a new appreciation for food I thought I didn’t like. If you’re in Barcelona and even remotely curious about Galician seafood, this place is a must. Especially if, like me, you’ve never had seafood done right.

Food taste and service was fantastic! Miguel, who was our server, was very kind and took care of us well despite the language barrier. I’d highly recommend this place to any fan of traditional seafood recipes of the Catalan region, or just anyone willing to try new cuisines!

It is located far from the main streets of Barcelona. It was nice that there were no tourists. I am a tourist myself, but I hate restaurants that only tourists go to. Anyway, it is a local seafood restaurant. I ordered a lunch set menu with lobster and added one carpaccio. The taste is average. Although they couldn't communicate in English, the staff made an effort. My score is... This is a restaurant I would only visit once if I had time.

My first time in Barcelona & this was by far the best food I had while here. After trying a few different places, I still thought about the tuna carpaccio throughout my entire trip. On top of that that, the service & experience was amazing & I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting.

This place is seafood heaven on Earth. Ingredients are so fresh you can taste every single one of them in each bite. Every dish is perfectly prepared, simple but astoundingly delicious. And to top it all off, Paulino will make you feel as if you were eating at home.

The best, local restaurant in Barcelona. The owner (Pauli) and his chef("Fillippa") are friendly and cordial. The ingredients are locally sourced and the food is fantastic! I recommend making reservations as the location is small, but a must!

I had the grilled chicken burger and it was absolutely delicious…The chicken was juicy and well seasoned, the bun was fresh, and the overall flavor was just perfect…Definitely coming back for more. Highly recommended

I had a spicy chicken burger with the jalapeno sauce and fries with the hot cheddar sauce. These people are magicians. Unbelievable that they use breast and not thighs judging by the level of flavor and juiciness. Crispiness, fries, bread and sauces on point. As a fried chicken enthusiast: I loved it and can only recommend you to try this place.

The burger was nice, maybe a bit too salty but the chicken was seasoned really well and it was super crispy. Same goes for the fries, however the coleslaw was below my expectations and less tasty than the rest of the menu.

This was my last night in Barcelona and my wife and I decided to try a European take on "American" food before we fly back home. We are from the southeastern US, where fried foods can be found almost everywhere, so we weren't sure what to think. This is one of the best fried chicken sandwiches I've ever had (top 5), so that says A LOT. So, Americans, if you want a taste of home (this is so much better than Chick-fil-A) while abroad (as my wife said- "they even have ranch!"), this is your place. Europeans and others from around the world, if you want an idea about how "comfort food" from the southeast US tastes, this is a great place to come try.

We tried Rooq Chicken for lunch today and were genuinely impressed. The chicken was crispy, juicy, and perfectly seasoned — definitely lives up to the “better than KFC” reputation! The portions were generous without feeling greasy, and the sauces added just the right amount of flavor. The spicy sandwich was hot (but delicious), so only order it if you can handle your spice! If you’re craving comfort food done right in Barcelona, Rooq Chicken is absolutely worth a visit.

Nice place, good service, they are fast and the chicken is great! We got nuggets and hot pot burger. The spicy isn’t too much so it was great. For me. You can add toppings too. The last but not least the fries were crispy and delicious. I will come back.

Loved the spicy chicken sandwich! Very fresh, crunchy but juicy inside. Well marinated as well. Good fries, interesting coleslaw, many beers to choose from. Would definitely recommend and will come again for sure.

Reasonably priced food and a good selection menu. The ambiance is beautiful and very elegant for both a casual lunch or a business meeting. The menu is extensive with lots of options and I was fortunate to try quite a few things. The tiffin box was lovely and beautifully prepared. The individual dishes were beautifully plated but missed the real Indian spice element for me. Even the chutneys for the idilis were not as spicy as I expected them. Overall a beautiful experience with lovely service.

At last I found a great modern Indian restaurant in Bcn!! Great products, great flavours, great service and the selection of quite original naan breads!! One thing to improve is the humidity smell in toilets, its really bad! Para repetir!!!
