Fish and chips takeaway
Hamburger restaurant
Takeout Restaurant
Out Of The Blue Clovelly is a popular takeaway spot in Sydney, offering a variety of delicious options such as burgers, classic fish and chips, and even deep-fried Mars Bars. This family-owned joint takes a sustainable approach to grab-and-go dining by using paper bags and cardboard boxes instead of single-use plastic. Their menu features sustainably sourced seafood like NZ Hoki and Hake, along with six house-made dipping sauces.
Much like when Prince Eric saw Ariel for the first time, there’s a lovely gesture of love at first sight misaligned with a seafood/see food pun in there that we don’t need to go into. What we do need to go into is The Blue. Specifically, Out of the Blue, the Legendary Fish and Chipper that had fed East siders for years, and now has gone full blown big fish in the small pond with people coming far and wide for infamous menu items such as the Curry Fish Burger and their potato scallop. I finally got taken there by long time loyalists @yellowbellytv . Now with its booming popularity, the ops is that you’ll wait for a while after placing your order. On a peak night especially but honestly that could be any night for this place. The menu is the best crossbreeding of Aussie and British fare, hence why it’s so popular in the east with all the UK/EU ex pats based up in these parts. You have the mythic Aussie hamburgers with 1:1:1 beef to bacon to beetroot ratios. Then you mushy peas, schnitty burger, marinated octopus and feta, toms and cucs salad paying homage to the Greek immigrants and their influence of their fishmonger culture here in Aus. Off rip, the fish burger was as hyped – a solid white bread bun, slightly toasted with sauce and dressing from the slaw invading every craggily crevice between the bread and fish batter. There’s a really nice crunch from the salad veg which is all contrasted by the super tender and buttery, flaky whitefish. The mushy peas were really silky and, although some might say an acquired taste, complement the meal as a warm palette cleanser quite well (it feels like a London thing). The marinated octopus was probably the biggest sleeper for me – tender, super well seasoned and hearty, would go perfectly with a potato salad or slice of sourdough. Everything above is to-go. It’s called Out of the Blue and perhaps the name is fitting as this hearty meal is best enjoyed outside (along the heads of the neighbouring Clovelly Beach is a highly recommended spot) 🎣🌅

Only take out here. Waiting time around 10 minutes, as food was freshly made upon ordering. Ordered the fish burger, and it was delicious. Balanced taste between multiple veggies and the fish. Wish there were more of the fish meats, though. Staff were polite.
Jia L — Google review
Solid old-school burgers in the laid-back beachside suburb of Coogee. We came in craving a good fish burger and it absolutely delivered — stacked with fresh ingredients, but the standout was the fish itself: super fresh, beautifully flaky, and perfectly battered without being doughy. They’ve clearly been doing this for years, and the consistent quality shows.

Try some fish n chip in Sydney but this shop absolutely the most yummy among the other 🐟🍟🤤🤤🤤 Menu : FISH N CHIP 🐟🍟 (10/10) when arrive at shop we still full so order just 1 to share 3 person and end up with queuing again and again for another delicious plate 🕐
Latte M — Google review
After waiting 20 minutes for "Fresh cook food" I got the worse chips ever (cold, burn, soggy and with bad taste), the fish was good but not the best as the people say they prepared, the calamary was the best thing of the order.
Ana P — Google review
Used to be the best burgers. Don’t know what’s going on but they changed the bun and the chicken and it was sooooooooo bad, chicken was thin and dense and the bun was just terrible. So disappointing if it’s changed hands could atleast keep the same recipe cause they’ve ruined it now. Super disappointing
Zoe P — Google review
$16.50 for the famous fish burger and same price for the beef. Over hyped reviews, burger was not bad but nothing special either. Chips was very disappointing, most of them soggy, they were hot, I ate them in front of the store so they should have been very crunchy. Very busy and long wait time for a takeaway shop. No seating available here.
Champ — Google review
Out of the Blue Clovelly is a popular and well know local and has been here for years. The food is good quality and reasonably priced. The burgers are very popular and there are some other snacks that are unique items on the menu. This fish and chip shop is takeaway only and comes with some ups and downs. On the upside it’s location is good, The food is good quality, very handy is a super market next door and a bottle shop across the road. On the downside. This shop gets VERY busy in the weekends with lots of customers ordering over the phone or online. As a result the waiting times are long and regularly exceed more than 30min which is long for fish&chips. The staff is not that friendly either. Check the opening day’s and times. Even while the food is good and above average. The long queues and waiting times are not worth the hassle.

Fish & chips restaurant
Seafood restaurant
Fat Fish, a beloved fish and chip shop in Sydney, has been serving locals and visitors for over 100 years. Owned by the Notaras brothers, Manny and Jon, this establishment offers locally sourced seafood along with salads and chips. The menu includes a variety of fresh seafood options, burgers, fried favorites like Chiko rolls, as well as gourmet dishes such as Greek-style octopus and garlic prawns. Customers praise the perfectly cooked fish fillets and the diverse salad bar.
We have finally found a place that served good quality food at good prices, in the inner west. There are two shops beside each other - when does the real deal Greek Yeross gyro . Fat fish does a grilled cod with chips and your selection from one of a dozen A grade salads . The tabouli is packed with goodness - parsley tomatoes Puis lentils that combines with the fish so well.

14/2/25 - 3 stars A fairly famous fish and chips shop which I had heard about online, but, after trying, it is mostly a neighbourhood favourite. Nothing wrong with a local business, but, not really worth travelling or going out of your way for. Grilled seafood basket: A, 7/10. Fairly decent mix of prawns, mussels and calamari. Grilled fish was fairly ok. Chips were also just ok. $27 is a bit more than expected Annandale special: S, 8/10. Same grilled fish and chips. $17 is more acceptable
Roland Z — Google review
The chips are yellowed, coloured from turmeric to give it that old school aussie fish and chip factor. It felt wasteful even though there wasn't a great deal of chips but I didn't finish them, like old school fish and chip shops when these short stubby chips are undercooked there's no saving their texture. The flathead was ok, fish itself great but the batter texture is different from a few years back when I used to rate this as one of the best fish and chippers. I used to come during the pandemic and after all that until I got tired of one of the then owner who was casually racist but it seems owners are different and have taken residence bringing marrickvilles yeeros shop next door and honestly I think if you aren't dead set on fish and chips you might want to do a yeeros instead because that experience was better (including the chips).
Paul N — Google review
Considered one of the better fish and chip shops in Sydney with good reason. They make'em good. Everything was fried perfectly. It was not too heavy on the frying which I liked. The bbq octopus was really good definitely order again. Prices were reasonable. Parking can be difficult in area and the seating when I went which was a weekday was pretty empty. But I can see it getting pretty busy.
Tony T — Google review
We hadn't been for awhile as we've moved out of the area, and was surprised to see it's changed hands and taken over next door. Took lunch down to the park and pleased to discover quality and hospitality was as good as ever, and happy the cinnamon sugar was back for my pineapple fritters ❣️
Larri2 — Google review
My first visit of Fat Fish was 3 years ago. My favorite combo / deal was always "Annandale Special", which came with grilled COD fish fillet, freshly fried chips and your choice of any 1 type of salad including seafood salad without charging extra. As far as I can remember, the price of this deal was $15.9 when I first visited it, so it has only been increased by $1 to $16.9 today after 3 years past. It's really a very good deal. The grilled COD fish fillets of the Annandale Special meal that I tried before were consistently good, in similarly quite generous portion and of course very delicious. The chips never disappointed me and their salad were always good too. They offer quite a big variety of different seafood / meals but I only focused on my favorite Annandale Special as it's always good and at such a reasonable price. I am a bit regret that I have not tried much other seafood so far. I have tried quite many different fish and chips restaurants in Sydney and Melbourne. This is always my favourite one and no other can offer the same quality as this Annandale Speacial at this price. Highly recommend for anyone who loves fish and chips to try.
Patrick C — Google review
Best Fish & Chips I’ve Had in Ages! Crispy, golden perfection! The fish was flaky and fresh, with a light, crunchy batter that wasn’t greasy at all. The chips were thick-cut, crispy on the outside and fluffy inside — exactly how they should be. Even the tartar sauce and lemon wedge felt like thoughtful touches. Simple, satisfying, and done just right. If you’re craving proper fish and chips, this spot is a total win. I’ll definitely be back for more
Krystal C — Google review
I have to say this restaurant has the best fish and chips in Sydney! They are not only serving the best fish and chips but also have so many varieties of fresh salad. I had tried both grilled and deep fried fish fillets and the fish was always cooked to perfection. Also love love love their salad bar. I recommend trying the chicken and broccoli salad with the grilled fish fillets. You will love this combo too! The service was always super quick and the staff were also very friendly. I highly recommend this place to all fish and chips lovers.

Seafood restaurant
Fishmongers Bondi is a laid-back eatery adorned with fish-themed artwork, offering delectable seafood and sweet potato chips. Visitors rave about the exceptional quality of the dishes, particularly highlighting the tender calamari rings and perfectly cooked battered hoki. The chef's specials are also highly recommended for their variety and unique flavors. Guests appreciate the friendly staff and reasonable prices, making it a favorite dining spot in Sydney.
Fishmongers serves excellent and fresh fish in a small neighbourly setting. The proprietor Adam is very friendly and also has an amazing ability to remember your order without writing it down. The prices are very reasonable in a restaurant world where good values seem to be harder and harder to find. Bondi has many places to eat but Fishmongers is one of the best.
Dov F — Google review
Amazing vegan options available - what a great treat to have these on the menu! Both the vegan fish and chips and vegan calamari were delicious - perfect to fill that craving after a trip to the beach! Also very reasonably priced and with a buzzing atmosphere.
Elisa — Google review
Food and service were both excellent. Seafood felt fresh and had nice seasoning to them. Chips were a bit disappointing, could have been more crispy. Would definitely visit again.
HS — Google review
Fish and chips were decent. Fish was lightly fried and pairs well with the sauce. Chips were mildly soft. Would have preferred it to be crispier. Also had the grilled prawns with rice. The prawns were delicious but the whole dish was so lackluster. There should be a little more ingredients besides just prawns and rice. Would be good with some fresh or grilled vegetable.
Chris C — Google review
Absolutely delish fish and chips and tempura prawns and veggies! The batter was shatteringly crispy with perfectly cooked fish/prawns/veggies. Also very generous serves! I forgot to take a pic until two prawns in, so the portion is even bigger than in the pic.

SEND THIS to someone who’s craving some good ol’ aussie seafood 🤤✨ If you’re looking for a beach feed but craving something a LIL more than just your classic fish and chips stop - @fishmongersbondi is the PERFECT local eatery to top off your bondi trip! I visited with my family last Sunday and I LOVED their cute local neighborhood vibe! They had such a wide menu sporting interesting dishes like fresh tuna tostadas and even Moroccan Fish Stew. We ordered: ✨ Bondi Box ($31) - salt and pepper calamari alongside their classic hoki fish and chips!! ✨ Fresh Tuna Tostada ($20) - this was fresh and delicious with the pico and lime 👌🏼 ✨ Chargrilled octopus with tempura vegetables ($29) - really rate the tempura vegetables, they were CRISPY and wholesome - the chargrilled octopus was also fantastic! ✨ Lemon Butter Cod with Salad - perfectly cooked, great way to enjoy a quality type of fish! Overall, really enjoyed my visit to @fishmongersbondi with my family! Super convenient while being a lil bit way from the hustle and bustle of the craziness that is Bondi! Definitely check them out! Thank you to @fishmongersbondi for inviting us and hosting so well!! Decent place for fish and chips or a variation of it. Fish was done well in general, and the steamed veg or salad option is a great healthy alternative. Chips were mediocre and a bit soft rather than crispy. Expect Bondi prices here of course.

Seafood restaurant
This Petersham seafood restaurant uses only sustainably sourced fresh fish from New Zealand and Australia. The menu has a range of dishes including oysters and mussels, battered fish, squid, and chowder. The restaurant is small and intimate, perfect for long lunches.
This was our first visit to Fich and we couldn’t fault it. Although they were shortstaffed, it didn’t affect the food quality or cheerful, personalized service. The menu was very varied with pretty much every major seafood option covered. And we tried quite a few of the different options, as you can see from the pictures! All our dishes were delicious, and the seafood was fresh. It was nice to eat somewhere that offered both the classic battered fish and chips options as well as more healthy grilled or steamed seafood and salads. Something for everyone.
Hannah C — Google review
Nice fish & chips. Wish the fish pieces are bigger. 1 extra piece will be nice for the price. Stuffed zucchini flower was tasty and yummy, but $12 each is expensive I feel.
Johnnie L — Google review
Great (ling) fish and chips, the batter is thin and crunchy and the fish was tasty and flaky. The prawn toast was also delicious. The service was quick and friendly and the restaurant was clean and spacious. We will definitely be back again. Highly recommended.
Terence H — Google review
Tried their lunch takeaway fish and chips. The batter is so crunchy. Not sure what the fish is but it is fresh and slightly firm. Very good. The fish burger seems to be based on the same fish. The sauce in the burger is fantastic. Plenty of chips to go with the meal.
Enyi — Google review
Great atmosphere and service. Mussel dish had great depth of flavour and generous portion of bread. Fish tacos had a super light and crunchy batter. Staff understanding of dietary requirements and were very helpful.
Vivian L — Google review
Came here for lunch. The dining room was nice. Ate the fish and chips which has a nice crunchy batter and the fish was fresh. The chips were crunchy on the outside. The tartare sauce was solid. Similarly the calamari was well fried and nice and crunchy. Also had a Caesar salad which was ok. Staff were friendly.
E — Google review
Couldn't fault their fish and chips, best in the area. Fish and other seafood tasted fresh. Love the fish decorations.
Antonia I — Google review
Consistently the best fish and chips in Sydney. The calamari is also delicious, I highly recommend both. Serving sizes are nice and large, totally worth the cost. The restaurant also has quite a nice atmosphere, so it’s definitely not your average fish and chips joint. Service is fast and friendly. I see no downsides — check it out!

Seafood restaurant
Little Fish Shoppe is a quaint and authentic fish shop located in the QVB building near Town Hall. The menu offers a variety of deep-fried seafood items that still manage to maintain the freshness of the produce. The prices are reasonable, making it a great option for both individual meals and corporate catering. Customers recommend trying the potato scallops with your meal and praise the consistently fresh calamari and whole fish box.
“One of the snacking spots I recommend if you’re near Town Hall is this hidden gem. As a seafood lover, I enjoy this place a lot. The prices are reasonable, and although the food can sometimes be a bit salty, it’s still tolerable, and I would recommend it.”
Jessie A — Google review
Food was great, fish was sooo good. But the worker was kind of rude, i dont know if she was purposefully doing it thats why i didnt rate the service one star, and ALSO THEY RATION THE CHICKEN SALT? LIKE HELLO? And there is no seating
Jessica H — Google review
Food is good. But I’m here to complain I bought food 5:21pm and it’s says anything is $5 and seafood/salmon $8 I bought 1 fried rice and 1 salmon But the lady charge me $23 then I realized after I went back to check the price . And ask the lady She told me the price drop after 5pm but I bought 5:21pm. But she didn’t even acknowledge me and she’s didn’t even look me. I’ll always there buying food but this is the first time happened. They can’t even refund the money. That’s over charged That’s too bad.
Eams A — Google review
The price makes absolutely no sense, waaaay too good, better than 90% of the overpriced fish & chips shops, for like 1/4 of the price. One of those hidden jewels of Sydney. Everything’s fresh and you literally see the seafood coming out of the fryer
John A — Google review
Takeaway-only little place on the underground level of towards the Town Hall Train station end of QVB. Rude and impatient staff. Poor service. Pre-boxed seafood smelt and tasted like varnish. It was also heavily drenched in dressings and flavourings, clearly in an attempt to mask any odours. Could not get past the first attempted bite, had to throw the lot out. Contaminated +/- with added chemicals to try and prolong the life of un-fresh products. Not recommended at all.
Nuriko — Google review
A nice authentic fish shop located on the bottom level of the QVB building (Town Hall end). I've had individual meals and corporate catering from here quite a few times, and both options were really nice. The catering was a big hit in the office, and the menu is quite reasonably priced. TIP: I would recommend getting a few extra potato scollops with your meal. ENJOY!
DJ B — Google review
Food is generally good here but I’m here to complain about the service. Waited patiently for around 10min to order something quick and small. There was only 2 people in-front of me so I patiently waited. But another men walked up after me and was standing in the middle but I was standing there waiting, before the guy even came up. The workers not even acknowledging me and started serving the guy that came after me. I understand it’s not too big of a deal but honestly, it leaves a bitter taste cause I was waiting there first. Just thought she could’ve be more aware of who was first. She could’ve asked “who’s next?”. But without any acknowledgement, she didn’t even look at me and I unfortunately walked away very unsatisfied.

This EXCELLENT place is right next door to Maccas just near northern entry / exits of Town Hall Station. They provide ASTONISHINGLY YUMMY crumbed & fried fish cakes for $2 each! They do! In Sydney in 2025! No one else does & every day I get off the train & prepare to “get across Pyrmont bridge in all weather” I make certain I RAM 3 of their FANTASTIC fish cakes down my throat & into my body because for $6 (yep: only six bucks!) I KNOW I will be able to run around a pub working for 9 hours at the age of 52. The WONDERFUL people who run this place are “keeping this old man nutritioned & energised”. I adore them! So I’m publicly THANKING them 👍🏼👏🏼🙏✅😘😘😘🤩😇

Costi's Fish and Chips Quay Quarter is a popular spot in Sydney known for its fresh and delicious fish and chips. They offer a variety of options including grilled fish, gourmet salads, poke bowls, battered seafood sticks, crumbed calamari rings, and crispy fish cocktails. What sets them apart is their focus on grilling the fish instead of frying it, providing a healthier alternative. Visitors praise the crispy battered fish and freshly cooked chips as well as the flavorful aioli sauce.
This fish and chips place deserves 10 stars. Shop is located in Quey Quarter plaza and is on the basement. First of all they only have sea products (meaning no pork, which can put me off). I tried cocktail box (6 small pieces of fish), chips. Potato scallop and prawn skewers. These were all excellent. Chips were being fried so I asked them to make it crispy, and Wallah it was crispy to the right crispiness. Patato scallop is basically aaloo pakora. Cocktail box is very generous in amount and I couldn't finish it fully despite this being finger licking tasty, I would say it would be enough for 2. It has a lot of healthy salad options but I couldn't try any. Atmosphere is excellent. The place even has 2 free table tennis tables right next to the shop. Since most of their clientale are office workers, they shut I think at 3 or 4pm

Battered fish was well fried. Chips could have been a tad crispier but otherwise no complains. Ordered the Greek style bbq octopus on the side. Loved it!

Fast and friendly service. The battered fish is fresh and they give tons of fries (chip)!! Definitely great value for money!!

This place was a nice place to get fish and chips. They have many other menu options such as octopus skewers and food from the grill. It’s located conveniently near circular quay too which was great.

Quality food and service. The staff are very friendly and helpful and took extra care to package our side dishes separately. Food was ready extremely quickly, within 10 minutes for many portions.

Really great food - my family had fresh fish and yummy salads - and generous servings at affordable prices! Looking forward to dining here again, thanks for the service (:

The food is good. Many varieties n good portion too. It is located in food court area. Check their opening hours, seems they cater mostly for office workers.

Super fresh Fish & Chips. Unlike many fish & chips which is bland taste on the inside, this one is flavourful from the crispy batter to the fish fillet inside. Portion is very generous too. I’d also recommend Fried calamari - tender and not rubbery.

North Bondi Fish is a renowned seafood restaurant located at the top corner of Bondi Beach. The open space with lanterns and beachfront views creates a fancy yet relaxed atmosphere. Co-owned by Matt Moran, this eatery offers some of the best seafood dishes, including beer battered flathead, rock oysters, soft shell crab sliders, and whole baby Hiramasa kingfish.
Great venue, great service - and spectacular views! I went on Monday afternoon with a friend for some Champagne and Sydney Rock Oysters and it was a great experience. The service was really friendly and professional - and the food delicious! A real treat on a Sydney winter's day!

Thank you to the entire team at NBF for a great night. Miserable heavy rain outside. Upbeat friendly staff and amazing food inside. Loved the spicy coconut margarita too. Congratulations on nailing EVERY part of our night x

We had an amazing experience at North Bondi Fish. Max took care of us and recommended the best drinks and dishes —everything was absolutely delicious. I recently went to North Bondi Fish for some drinks and had a great experience. Maxi, the bartender, was extremely friendly and professional. He recommended the Caipirinha, and it was one of the best I’ve had — perfectly made and very refreshing. Excellent service, great atmosphere, and delicious cocktails. Highly recommended!

I’ve walked past North Bondi Fish so many times but never actually went in, until today. We stopped by for a cocktail and ended up having such a great experience. Maxi, our Argentinian waiter, was super friendly and easy to chat with. He suggested we try the coco bongo, and it was absolutely amazing, one of the best I’ve ever had. Great service, great vibe, and a really good energy overall.

Wow, just wow! JOEL our server made our sunset drinks and dinner off the chain. So welcoming and friendly. Suggested drinks, on point and the most friendly server we have run into. The views are incredible and food was delicious! We came here from the US and got the full Aussie experience thanks to Joel.

North Bondi Fish is amazing. The views are incredible and the service was impeccable. Joel took such good care of us and was very friendly and engaged with everyone. There was a special promotion menu with Veuve Cliquot and the lobster burger was delicious. The promotion ends Nov 2nd so hurry up and book. Otherwise, the daily specials and regular menu are delightful. Be back soon. Thanks again Joel!!

Great location, superb views and cool interior. The vibe is also great. However a bit of a let down on service (quite slow and we were sometimes completely forgotten in the corner there) and a real let down on food. The one dish that epitomised this was the sole. I was really looking forward to eating a sole but unfortunately it was a total miss. It was far too much fried, to the point where it was basically a sole-chip … no kidding. At $68 for the dish I’d say that’s totally unacceptable. In fairness I should have brought it up with the waiter but did not because I did not want to make a big thing out of it seeing we were with friends. But I suppose the kitchen should never have let that dish get out like that. The rest of the food was ok. But not great to be honest. Good lobster burger, ok fish and chips.

Nestled along the stunning Barangaroo waterfront, love.fish is a must-visit for seafood enthusiasts in Sydney. This stylish and spacious restaurant offers a delightful array of locally-sourced seafood dishes that celebrate Australia’s rich marine bounty. From fresh sashimi to crispy panko crumbed fish cakes and succulent salmon fillets, every bite promises to be both delicious and sustainable. The menu is thoughtfully designed for sharing or enjoying solo, ensuring there's something for everyone. At love.
We had exceptional service at Love Fish. After walking all morning around the the area, on a hot muggy day we arrived at Love Fish very parched. The team brought us a bottle of water each, a cup of ice each and we ordered our food. Charlotte was our waitress and she was wonderful. The food was absolutely delicious. We had such a positive experience we ended up back at Love Fish for dinner. Toby was our waiter at dinner, and he was fantastic too. Can not fault Love Fish, and easy 5 stars! Food was fresh and full of flavour. The cocktails were also outstanding especially the Espresso Martini.

- Amazing place for seafood fanatics, they also have other dishes for the non-seafood lovers too! - Food was simply delicious. Could not say any more than that. Just perfect in terms of portion, taste, and presentation. Brilliant. - Service was fantastic to say the least. Staff are very hospitable and accommodating. Warm friendly smiles everywhere you look. - Plenty of seating available, great ambience and atmosphere. - Reasonably priced for the location and the quality of food. Good value for money. - Overall 10/10 would recommend. I would definitely return!
Jack C — Google review
We had an incredibly delicious dining experience here for lunch. We decided against getting one of the enticing set menus and instead ordered just over half a dozen different dishes to share to get a good sample of their fine cuisine. We were not disappointed with any of the dishes and it's hard to choose a favourite, but the salmon ceviche was really next level with a perfect blend of flavours all bursting in our mouths with each bite. The waitstaff, including our main waiter Mina, did an amazing job of making sure that we were always taken care of. I requested that our cocktail glasses never be allowed to be empty before another was brought and they never let us down. The food, service and overall atmosphere was fantastic. I can't recommend this place high enough. We will certainly be dining here again.
Robert W — Google review
Service was excellent, but the menu selection is small and nothing was outstanding or novel. I would call the food average and the quality is more like from a good takeout place, e.g. squid was still pale instead of crispy, the scallops were actually there but you had to dig through more than an centimetre of breadcrumbs and the fries were soggy. Clearly a mismatch between the price and what you get.
Heiko S — Google review
Food was great especially their oyster and swordfish. Their fish and chip quite average. Saved this place to try out and straight away came here for dinner from Malaysia and the service was outstanding!
Amirul H — Google review
Love.fish at Barangaroo nails the Sydney waterfront dining scene. The vibe is modern and laid-back, with that clean, urban energy Barangaroo is known for. You’re right on the harbour, so the setting adds an easy sophistication without trying too hard. The seafood here is the star—super fresh, cooked simply, and packed with flavour. Whether it’s oysters on ice, perfectly grilled fish, or a crisp seafood salad, everything tastes like the ocean just dropped it off. Pair it with a chilled white wine while you take in the water views and you’re set. Service is relaxed but on point, making the whole experience feel seamless. It works just as well for a quick after-work dinner as it does for a long, easy weekend lunch by the water. If you’re in Barangaroo and want seafood done clean, fresh, and stylish—love.fish is the move.

Had an incredible meal at Get Fish in Barangaroo easily one of the best seafood spots in Sydney. The fish was fresh, perfectly cooked, and served with that coastal charm you just can’t fake. A special shout-out to Mina, our waiter, who made the whole experience even better. He was warm, attentive, and genuinely cared that everything was perfect. His recommendations were spot on especially the grilled barramundi and chips! Between the waterfront atmosphere, top-quality food, and Mina’s fantastic service, this place deserves every star. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in Barangaroo.

Bottom of the Harbour Seafoods is a popular Sydney fish 'n' chip takeaway spot, dishing up delicious fare at reasonable prices. The restaurant has a good monopoly in its area, with friendly staff and quick service. Whilst the taste of some items was above average, others were slightly below par - although still tasty. Prices for take away are a little on the high side, but overall it's definitely worth checking out!
Perfect location opposite Balmoral Beach. Plenty of parking. Ordered the salt and pepper squid and barramundi! Undercover seating and ice cream just next door! Staff were very kind 😄

Came here for the fisherman's basket (2x fish cocktails, 2x prawn cutlets, 6x calamari rings, chips and tartare sauce) and it was lovely. Waited about 5 min for the food and enjoyed it by the beach. They ended up serving extra calamari rings which was nice. Would recommend if you are in the area.
Edie C — Google review
Good portion of battered fish and chips for $18. I was charged additional for condiments- $2.00 for ketchup and $2.20 for tartare sauce plus a Coke. All up $25.30. Sat down across the street taking in the majestic beauty of Balmoral beach!
Christopher B — Google review
Good chips and fish for a reasonable price for the area. There is a self serve area for chicken salt and vinegar so you can customise the saltiness of the chips. I didn't like the tartae sauce though which is a bit sad since I did pay extra for it.
Jessica H — Google review
Had dinner here tonight. Salmon with chips and the fish burger. Could not believe how expensive the food is - $6 to add chips per meal! $71 for 2 people - welcome to Sydney. The food was crap. So disappointed. Never again. They are simply fortunate there is no other options.
Brendo — Google review
What was hyped to be the best fish and chips turned out to be not so bad but could be so much better. Fish is good chips a bit soggy and unappealing. Also suggest a hard pass on the Bbq octopus. Burgers packed but almost too much where they are unwieldy and soggy.
Greg D — Google review
My boyfriend visited on the public holiday and tried to order the seafood basket. He politely asked if the fish could be substituted for another item or simply removed from the order. The male staff member rudely replied, “No, we don’t do swaps.” When my boyfriend tried to explain further, the staff member interrupted and said, “No, just order something else.” When he asked to speak with the manager, the staff member refused. What makes this even more concerning is that my boyfriend is anaphylactic to fish, though he can safely eat other seafood options like prawns and octopus. The staff member showed no care or understanding for this serious medical condition, displaying a complete lack of professionalism and empathy. Because of this experience, my boyfriend didn’t feel safe eating there and did not enjoy his meal at all. This level of service and disregard for customer safety is unacceptable. The staff member working on the public holiday should be spoken to immediately. I would not recommend anyone to visit this place, especially those with allergies or dietary requirements.
Sasha N — Google review
Quick service even for a super busy easter weekend! The fish was flaky, not too greasy and the chips were well fried. Potato scallop was good and the octopus salad was tender and flavourful. Not cheap but quality is good and it’s nice to sit and eat at the beach,

Fresh lovely seafood at this neighbourhood seafood shop. Fish and chips were battered lightly and salted nicely. Prawns were juicy and fresh. Really nice meal away the hustle and bustle of downtown.

Truly the best Fish and Chips in the Universe. I'll be honest. When I first saw the tagline, I was skeptical. Could this really be the best Fish and Chips in the Universe? Well, as a lifelong Fish and Chips afficionado, I reluctantly have to disagree. It is absolutely NOT the best Fish and Chips in the Universe, but it certainly could possibly be the best Fish and Chips in Sydney. Walk into the shop and you have a wide variety of FRESH seafood to choose from. We ordered a double platter and a grilled fish burger. The double platter did not disappoint, but let me tell you this; if you don't get the grilled fish burger when you're here. You're a fool. That fish was perfectly seared crisp on the outside, yet tender and juicy on the inside. That Turkish bread it was enveloped in, nicely cushioned with lettuce and sauce. Oh it's divine I tell you. If you're in the area, in Sydney CBD or even the Greater Sydney area(whatever that means), you're going to want to go out of your way to come here. You won't regret it. Oh, and don't forget the people. The people that run the place, are amongst the friendliest I've met.

Disappointing experience!! Ordered Pineapple Fritters from its website, it clear says 2 rings online and receipt but only received 1 ring. Called and the lady clearly couldn’t care less, just said the ring now is bigger and the description needs to be updated. $5.45 for 1 piece of Pineapple is a rip off!!! Food wise, below average! Fish tasted nothing but salty. This place is clearly not the best in universe, please mind your choice!!!

Salty & oily fish ! I have tried grilled fish with veggies. The barramundi was quite big and had a good aroma. However, the fish was very oily and smothered in Salt. I chose this place to eat healthy, but the heavy oil and salt killed all flavours and goodness. Nevertheless the counter manager & waitress had very friendly smile and service.

Salmon & Bear is a sustainable seafood eatery located in Crows Nest, Sydney. The chefs cook over charcoal and use fresh, quality fish to create delicious dishes. The service was great, and the food was delicious.
I often visit Crows Nest because it’s one of the metro stops. There’s so much food to explore, and a bonus is that my friend lives there. I visited him after he returned from overseas. He recommended a place that serves amazing salmon, so we decided to go there as soon as he got back to Sydney. We didn’t need to make any bookings, and the walk-in was easy. I ordered the Atlantic salmon with the Baby Cos salad and Salsa Verde. I wanted something healthy, so I ordered the soda gin, which had fewer calories, which was a good choice. My friend ordered the pasta. We had a quick catch-up, had ice cream, and then played a game of pool in a bar nearby. If you enjoy exploring for food, Crows Nest is definitely worth visiting. Take the metro today! Save and share this post to try the crispiest, freshest, and most delicious salmon! It’s also super healthy. The friendly service is a bonus. Here’s what we ordered: ATLANTIC SALMON (GF) - $35.95 Salsa Verde + Baby Cos Salad (choose the sides from the menu) TOMATO & VODKA RIGATONI - $29.95 Rigatoni, prawns, and basil in a spicy vodka tomato sauce topped with Parmesan and pangratatto

The staff went above and beyond when it came to service, genuinely one of the most welcoming experience I’ve had, so for that alone it’s 5 stars! But I also need to pay tribute to how delicious the food was, everything from the starters to dessert were fantastic! Special mentions to the Vodka Rigatoni & the Sticky Date Pudding, both of which stole the night. The whole place has a cozy atmosphere to it & makes Salmon & Bear feel like a home away from home. Couldn’t recommend it enough! Thanks for having us!

Came here for Father's Day and it did not disappoint. Well cooked food, meat had that lovely oven char taste. Would have liked a bit more rare (medium rare was initial request) but meat was still delicious and tender. Would love to try their other items. Wish the chowder was still there! Kids were entertained with their activity sheets, and their meals were decent sized. They have salmon on the kids menu, that's rare.

An absolutely under rated gem. You can smell Salmon & Bear a mile away. You’ll be salivating before you even walk inside. I’d highly recommend the premium banquet. It offers great variety and was a nice experience. Fish of the day was sword fish. It definitely exceeded expectations. Serving sizes are very good. I’d happily return.

We had the banquet for four with friends, and everything was absolutely delicious. The salmon curtado was outstanding, my tuna steak was perfect, and my wife’s eye fillet was cooked beautifully. We chose five sides, all fresh and full of flavor.
Hakan H — Google review
The food was absolutely delicious. Simply five stars. However, sadly the service let our experience down. It was akin to being placed on a conveyor belt and rushed through the experience, albeit being 5 minutes early for our booking. I’d definitely return for the food, but if you’re looking for a place to enjoy at a leisurely pace I’d look elsewhere.
Emily-Rose ( — Google review
I have been to Salmon & Bear a few times, and this establishment does not disappoint. This includes celebrating special days with friends & loved ones. Located conveniently for folks who may travel by car, bus, or the metro (a short walking distance from Crows Nest station). My highlights are: - The place serves good value food and I highly recommend the Mibrasa Experience menu. The ability to choose a variety of sides is always a winner. Favourites for me are the Brussel Sprouts, sweet potato fries and broccolini. Love all the starters that come with the Mibrasa Experience and my go-to main is the Atlantic Salmon with the Salsa Verde sauce. - A special shout out to Victoria who is amazing in how she treats every guest who patronise the establishment. Not all wait staff has the finesse Victoria has in guest interaction, though Victoria will make sure it is all good in the end. - They accept both cash & card - Love how the establishment is tastefully decorated. The earthy feel gives a very warm & welcoming feeling. - There is indoor & outdoor seatings. There are heaters available for guests who decide to sit outside when the weather is cool. - I highly recommend booking in advance as it can be full house on weekends and special days. All in all, a good place to try out if you haven't before.

The Fishbox & Co is a hidden gem located in Sydney's Southside, catering to locals around Sans Souci, Allawah, and Kogarah. Despite its unassuming appearance, this eatery offers an array of delectable options such as the British Box featuring battered hake, mushy peas, and potato scallop. In addition to classic fish and chips, they also serve healthier grilled seafood and refreshing salads. The quality of the food is exceptional with generous portions and fresh ingredients.
Chanced upon this hidden gem of a place while my driving through the A1 on our family roadtrip. Was pleasantly surprised at how fresh and delicious the food is here, special mention to the lobster roll which packs a punch. Staff were friendly and welcoming, felt right at home despite being from out of town, will be back here when we can!

First time coming here, service was great, grilled salmon and sweet potato chips were delicious, fresh and tasty! Definitely coming back!

Positive Enjoyed the beer battered fish and chips very much. $17 The calamari rings are made in-house, so they are very tasty. $11 The chips are perfectly crisp with fluffy potato inside. You can eat inside in comfort or outside on footpath although with a Carrs park at the end of the street you are spoilt for choice. Negative This is all great, but you know how you order a few calamari, and they chuck in a few extra to be generous and leave a good impression. This would not happen here we got exactly six. Everything felt extremely measured and weighed. My pet hate is stinginess with chips. They are cheap and fill you up, so why not be generous with them to satisfy customer? It felt like someone counted out fifteen chips. I do not think fish and chips would satisfy hunger. We only got by because we bought calamari rings as well at $2 each!!! This is good quality food but boutique servings which comes with boutique price.

We ordered the grilled salmon with the noodle salad and the garlic prawns. These meals were fresh, tasty, full of flavour, and cooked to perfection. I would not hesitate to recommend this small business to anyone in the area (and beyond). Will order again! Well worth the 5 stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Overall: 3/7 Was enticed by the prospect of a good lobster roll given the price, but was sorely disappointed. Haven’t tried the other items on the menu but those could be good. Staff are friendly and the venue is quite nice. Lobster roll: 3/7 For almost 30AUD you’d really expect something more substantive. This roll was filled with 70%+ coleslaw and just ruined the experience. Could hardly notice the lobster in its midst. It was admittedly quite fresh, but certainly not worth the price.
Adam C — Google review
In a quiet street. A clean trendy looking fish and chips shop with friendly attentive staff. Cool menu design with variety of seafood. The portions are small comparing with the price. The calamari is with too much crumbs and my daughter didn't like it. The oysters were only half fresh and half old and could not eat the last one. The only thing which was good was the chips.
Hossein Z — Google review
We've ordered takeaway to take down to the bay and on both occasions we've been happy with our meals. Most meals are made to order so depending how busy it is, you may have to wait. Staff seems friendly and courteous, if you're after a healthier alternative (non fried) they offer a selection of salads, poke bowls, cold prawns and oysters. My favourite is the Salmon Poke Bowl, serving size and dressing is just right. My kids have tried the kids meal and we like that it's not traditional chicken nuggets and fish fingers, it's actually battered pieces of chicken and fish. They also like the cheeseburger and sweet potato chips. Happy to come back and try other items on the menu 😊

A few tables available to eat your food fresh. Batter on the fish and potato scallops was a light and had a good amount of crunch. The lobster roll was tasty, however could have done with more lobster for the price.

The expansive rooftop terrace provides stunning views of Coogee Beach and offers a diverse menu inspired by Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisine. Guests can enjoy delicious dishes, cocktails, and chilled beers in the lush greenery of the spacious patio.
I visited today after a long walk from Bondi Beach and found this place really welcoming, with part of the kitchen in view and the wood-fired pizza ovens on display. I tried a pizza that I customized myself (which is possible here) and it was very good — I was really satisfied. The staff was attentive and friendly. Highly recommended, although in my opinion the prices are not the lowest

Second visit here, good for kids due to the back of the first floor having space for them to play & run around a bit. Good pub food, although seems expensive my fish & chips was $32, kids meals are $22. But the food is cooked well & came fairly quickly considering it was busy Huge venue lots of space over three levels, but after 1pm you see it get busier still. Located on the corner near the beach, lots of parking around although you have to get there crack of dawn as it fills up quickly. Would recommend a visit 😊

The Boathouse Shelly Beach is a charming cafe located by the serene Shelly Beach near Manly. The cafe offers a delightful menu featuring breakfast classics like avocado toast, fruit salad, and yogurt with muesli. For those with more adventurous tastes, there are Asian-inspired dishes such as sesame rice bowl and raw spicy salmon. The cafe's picturesque location by the beach makes it an ideal spot to enjoy a modern Australian breakfast or lunch in a rustic-chic setting.
This place was really good. It's near the Shelly Beach facing the beach and the view is amazing. We had some drinks , coffee and chips. They have a variety of food options for breakfast and lunch to find from. There's different drink options available, the vibe the place and service is really amazing. Although I felt it was a little undermaintained as they have turkeys going around everywhere and they make a lot of mess, but they did well they also have a turkey spray if they try to annoy you while enjoying your time. Must visit place.

A good place to stop after the walk down from Manly on the ocean path. Catch the happy hour drink specials from 2pm to 4pm. Food finishes at 3pm, so the happy spot is between 2pm to 3pm for a bite to eat (standard pub fare) with a cheaper drink. Great views and brush turkeys galore...

The Boathouse at Shelly Beach is one of those places where a simple meal feels like a small holiday. You wander off the path from Manly, sand still on your feet, and step into a bright space filled with flowers in jars, striped umbrellas and sea breeze drifting through the open windows. Ordering happens at the counter, the line moves quickly, and staff stay cheerful as they point out specials and suggest a good table if you are juggling towels and a pram. Grab a spot facing the water and you are set for a very easy hour. Mornings shine here. Coffee lands smooth and hot, and the bacon and egg roll comes on a soft milk bun with a tangy relish that actually tastes like tomatoes. Avocado toast is generous with lemon and chilli, and the ricotta hotcakes have that cloudlike centre people make detours for. Later in the day it turns seafood forward in the best way. Fish and chips arrive crisp and not greasy, the prawn roll tastes fresh with a touch of dill and lemon, and the salt and pepper calamari stays tender with a proper squeeze of citrus. Bowls and salads are built with bright herbs and crunchy greens, so you never feel weighed down before a swim back at Shelly. A few little things make visits smoother. It can get busy on sunny weekends, so earlier arrivals win the best tables and easier street parking. The place is largely cashless, water jugs and glasses are self serve, and families fit right in with plenty of high chairs and space to park a stroller. Bring swimmers because the marine reserve out front is perfect for a quick snorkel, then circle back for an iced drink and something sweet from the cake display. Good food, relaxed service and that view add up to an easy favourite.

Everytime I come to Manly, I bring friends and relatives for the best experience. On the beach, amazing food (easy ordering), fits a lot of people, semi open and in door. The food and atmosphere is the best. Dogs (outside)and bush turkeys allowed 😀

Hello fellow food enthusiasts. Todays Review will be on the Bacon Egg Roll, Mocha and Iced Latte. The Bacon egg roll was amazing. Bacon was perfectly crunchy, egg perfectly goey. Chilli jam/sauce gave it that perfect spice touch. Mocha was good (said Grace) i dont drink coffee but i also agree. Iced Latte was also very good not too dilute. Overall 10/10. Would come again. Run dont walk. Good Food. Good Views. Good vibes. Happy Karen and Grace. Thanks for taking the time to read my review. And see you next time. Off to dessert place now..

The Newport, located on the Northern Beaches, offers a fantastic outdoor bar experience with breathtaking views of Pittwater. This transformed venue provides a chic Riviera-style outdoor pub with multiple restaurants and bars for families to enjoy. Children can have a blast in the indoor play area while parents indulge in drinks and delicious meals. The expansive outdoor space features various dining areas and bars, making it an ideal spot for both kids and adults.
Worth the Drive! I won’t lie — it was a 40-minute drive for me, but absolutely worth it. The venue is open-air with beautiful views and a relaxed, spacious layout. Whether you’re after a bar, café, or pizza — they’ve got it all. I went with the pizza and a drink and it was delicious. The staff were attentive, and the whole place is very well kept. Highly recommend for a laid-back day out!

The Newport – ★★★★☆ Great spot for a relaxed meal with a beautiful view of the water. The food was fresh and tasty, and the overall vibe is super chilled — perfect for a sunny afternoon. Plenty of space, a nice variety of seating, and a lively atmosphere without feeling too crowded. Service was decent, and everything came out quickly. Would definitely come back. A solid place for good food, great vibes, and stunning surroundings.

Super popular place with good pizzas. We picked a very windy winter day, so frozen a bit in the elements. Staff were flat out but worked hard. One meal didn't arrive as they were just so busy, but they issued a refund.. Nice cocktail selection.

Amazing atmosphere, amazing food. I could not fault this place (except ridiculously expensive) but worth it for the views & atmosphere!! Wow. We will be back!!
S — Google review
Late home, we needed simple for a light dinner and our hosts said let's go to the Newport. My expectations of a little neighbourhood bar were, to say the least, incorrect. It is a massive sprawling complex overlooking the top end of Pittwater. I didn't have time to explore all of its delights! We parked at a table overlooking the water, just as the sun was setting, and if you read this review and are left wondering when would be a good time to go, check Google for 'sunset time in Sydney today' and make sure to get there a little before that. It was just lovely. We settled on some draft pale ales, and decided what to eat. Choices, choices. Pizzas from the pizza kitchen? Burgers from the Shack, or seafood from the Kiosk? Are there more outlets? Who knows, I could still be looking for them as I write ! We ended up with burgers and salt and pepper calamari from the shack, ordered and given some gizmo that alerted us as to when our order was ready. And when it duly buzzed and whirred, off we traipsed to collect - we were our own wait staff. Not sure I liked this....bit like having a dog and having to bark yourself if you ask me.... I would have preferred someone to bring it, except (one supposes) it would tire the staff out looking for the punters over the course of a shift.... numbered tables might be an option? Anyway, the kids portions turned out perfect for a light treat and we left happy. Go back? Yes, definitely for the sunset and a couple of beers, and in fairness the kids meals were plenty big enough for us.

Fishmongers Manly is a casual dining spot located just a block away from the stunning Manly Beach. It's known for its delectable seafood menu, featuring options like prawns, calamari, and octopus. The standout dish is the tempura-battered hoki served with hand-cut chips. Visitors praise the deep-fried kumera batter and the gluten-free fish and chips option available here.
Came here for the first time with my partner yesterday. Great service, friendly hello from the Asian gentleman at the counter. Asked him and Chef for their recommendations and we got both the specials. Grilled Salmon with salad, cooked perfectly. Nice and flaky and moist in the middle, not dry at all. Crust was crispy. Salad was a good choice for something light and refreshing. Battered flathead with fries. Probably the best fish and chips I've had. Crispy batter, chips you could tell were made fresh and in house as opposed to brought in and frozen. Quality ingredients and great service from the 2 gentlemen that were working around 3pm on Monday. The boss loved it, which means we will be back!
Kevin V — Google review
This is the worst fish and chip I have ever had. First off, the salmon is burnt. And who serve fish and chip in a bowl!? The chips are wayyyyy too thick. The crispy sweet potatoes was not crispy. What a waste of ingredient! I have had their fish and chips in Bondi branch and it was the best. This is the total opposite.
Northasia — Google review
This was hands-down the best calamari I’ve ever eaten. You could actually taste how fresh it was — tender, not chewy, and without that lingering aftertaste you sometimes get with seafood. The portions were generous; I ordered the half box that came loaded with calamari, fish and chips, prawns, and the most delicious homemade tartar sauce. The calamari alone is worth coming back for, but the fish and chips — coated in a light, crisp tempura batter — were just as impressive. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted incredibly fresh. Highly recommend this place for seafood lovers, especially if you appreciate quality and flavor.
BREE K — Google review
Not trying to be picky but the bowls are so hard to eat out of and the batter falls off the fish and separates completely. It’s just poor attention to detail in my opinion. Also not deveining the shrimp is a big hell no.
Isha C — Google review
High rating fish n chips in manly. We were here on a rainy day so the hot food does cheers us up. Tempura veggie was a surprise and generous portion. Five of us can’t even finish on the spot.
Jenny W — Google review
3.5 ⭐ Had battered hoki with tempura veges and soy sauce ($23). Very filling. Hoki tasted very tasty and fresh, with a batter that was thin and crispy. Tempura was bleh - the batter (same as the hoki batter?) was too greasy for the vegetables and too heavily salted imo, it made me wonder what the soy sauce was for 😅 Owner was friendly and knowledgeable about coeliac and provided good range of food options for my coeliac friend.
Cerberus — Google review
You can enjoy a wide variety of seafood (such as prawns, squid, and fish) and vegetables, prepared in different ways (grilled or fried), all at great value for money. The prawns were especially huge and fresh. The fried vegetables were also a treat. The fish are also good, but the squid is not so great. The owner was kind and friendly, and the food tasted even better with Sydney beer or mini bottles of wine.
S L — Google review
I was looking for fish and chips, like authentic but most of the ones around manly is fried with beer batter. We went searching and found this quaint little place that cooked their with just tempura and was perfect! Loved the service and the lady behind the counter. Loved their fish and chips, served hot and the atmosphere was lovely.

Bondi's Best Seafood is a casual restaurant with outdoor seating that offers an exceptional seafood dining experience. The menu features a variety of options, including fisherman's baskets, sushi, and substantial dishes like the Patagonian toothfish. The restaurant is known for its generous portions, serving up crispy and juicy fish and chips alongside chunky sweet potato fries. Guests can also opt for take-away or dine in.
So very thankful for the hospitality received here from the staff for my son as he ordered up some of the best takeaway fish in the area. Hey also there’s this spicy king fish inside -out roll ... definitely would give it a go.
Michael C — Google review
An elevated style of fish and chips. You might get less than what you'd be use to, but everything was executed well. Beer batter fish fillets were fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside (with nice cragly bits of crunch). We also got some prawn cutlets that were done in a Japanese style. The only critique was that the fish would have benefited with abit more seasoning. The tartare sauce was tangy and obviously freshly made. The chips were also crispy and well seasoned. Overall, worth trying atleast once (even if you're usually a fan of large portion sizes)
Edbert C — Google review
Too expensive for the place and food! Sweet potatos was the best taste and seafood was ok but not great! My seafood curry for 27 was the way too pricey and taste just soso…..

Quite literally the best Fish and Chips I've ever had. Normally it's soggy and/or greasy, but these were crisp and crunchy. The fish could have been seasoned a little before it was fried, but still the best I've ever had. Their drink selections are limited, and you can't BYO, so we just had the water. Definitely a hole-in-the-wall feel as if you sit inside, you'll get the heat from the grill/fryers. WILL be going again!
Brenden R — Google review
Fresh seafood meets sushi.... it's bound to be pretty damn good. I ordered the seared salmon salad and it was unbelievable, bursting with flavour and a very generous serving size. There was a huge selection of fresh fish and some sides that would excite anyone's taste buds. The sweet potato chips are a must order, honestly you will probably want seconds. You can just tell the locals love this place and the staff were great! So excited to have discovered this place. Will be back for sure.

Love this place! The fish is is so fresh and cooked to perfection. There are so many side options it's hard to chose just one. The specials change weekly and are all based on what is in season. Fast service and if you're unsure about what to order just ask the guy taking your order, he knows everything.

Great location right on the water front. Went at lunch time (approximately 12:30pm) it was extremely busy. We were ushered through to find our own seat which was definitely very difficult. Single people sitting at tables for 4 or more with zero direction from staff. Once seated you have to QR code for your food there was no table service at all except for staff turning up to drop food off randomly to your table. We had to hunt down water for the table as well as salt and pepper. Food was standard. Nothing memorable. You will have to also go to the bar to order and bring drinks back to the table as well. The bar service was atrocious. The person who I'd guess was the bar manager was rude and arrogant. Seemed only interested in serving the young beautiful women and joking with staff behind the bar. For the price you pay at the location and the amount of staff running about seemingly doing nothing I would have expected more. It was a terrible shame. I will not be returning
Christopher H — Google review
Ordered 2 x Fish tacos plus a couple of other dishes. Food came out super quick considering how busy it was. But… the fish tacos came out as fish and chips. I can push that part aside as the word fish may have been misheard. But when ordering at the bar up stairs, it seemed as though there were a lot of other workers there on their day off and the bar staff were to busy serving and trying to talk to their work friends. I also saw the same guy who served me get approached from another customer about the beer he poured. It was a pint of Super dry and it had NO head on it as he was to busy talking to his friends. Back to the food. The wait staff were good when I explained that it should have been fish tacos and they took the battered fish back. They came back about 10 minutes later with the Fish Tacos. No refund was offered (didn’t expect a full refund) but there was an $8 difference between the two ($16 in total). I understand it was super busy, but some basic customer service would have been good. On the upside, food was good, location amazing! But the service really does need some work in the bar areas.

At the Watto it's all about the view! Right next to the ferry wharf at Watsons Bay it shares the same view as the famous Doyles Seafood Restaurant, but the food and drinks are half the price. Meals are better than most pub food and drink prices aren't crazy expensive. Service is efficient, but not overly friendly. If the weather is nice, I'd recommend booking for lunch or arriving after 1:30, even on a weekday. It can get very busy.
Gary H — Google review
A great little spot at Watson’s Bay for a drink plus lunch/dinner. The GF pizza there was fantastic as was the laid back atmosphere. The only downside was the number of people squeezing past to try and get a table at the front where you get the best views of the harbour. They were of course all reserved. Not sure why the staff on the door didn’t take them elsewhere in the venue.
Janine T — Google review
IF YOU WANT TO BE TREATED WELL DO NOT COME HERE! Terrible! Extremely rude and unprofessional staff. They completely ruined my friend’s wedding celebration. She had booked a table months in advance for her guests to gather there after 5pm to have some drinks following the ceremony. Several guests were treated terribly, and one of the bride’s best friends was refused entry at the door — he wasn’t even drunk, it was clearly because he’s a gay man. The way they spoke to the bride was absolutely disgusting — no respect, no kindness, no sense of the occasion. It was supposed to be a happy and special day, and they showed zero consideration for that. It honestly felt like they were upset that the wedding wasn’t held at their venue, especially since they had already tried to cancel her booking just a week before the wedding (a booking that was made back in February!). I had never been there before, and I’ll definitely never go back. I’m sure the 40–50 people who were there for the wedding won’t return either.

Beautiful location but the average age of the staff is probably around the 19 year old mark. So the place is essentially ran by a bunch of kids which means a load of mistakes and poor service. Someone is definitely trying to save a few dollars by hiring all young staff which will inevitable backfire.

Promenade Bondi Beach - Restaurant and Beach Bar offers a stunning dining experience with its glorious location on the boardwalk of one of the world's most iconic beaches. The restaurant boasts a beautiful sandy-toned room, efficient service, and an ocean vista that complements the equally impressive flavors of its dishes.
An unforgettable Bondi Beach experience at Promenade! I visited Promenade Bondi Beach on a rainy fall day, and even without the sunshine, it was an incredible experience. The location is absolutely unbeatable — the patio directly overlooks the iconic Bondi Beach, offering sweeping views of the sand and ocean. Sitting outside under the covered area, with the sound of the waves and the fresh sea breeze all around, was so relaxing. I can only imagine how magical this place must be on a sunny day — I’m sure it’s packed! I ordered an Aperol Spritz and one of their pizzas, and both were excellent. The Spritz was perfectly balanced and refreshing, and the pizza had a light, crispy crust with fresh, vibrant toppings — simple ingredients treated with real care. Everything was beautifully presented and clearly made with quality in mind. What really stood out, though, was the service. The staff went above and beyond — not only were they welcoming and attentive, but they genuinely took the time to chat with me and help me plan the rest of my day around the Bondi area. They gave great local recommendations and were just so warm and friendly. It felt much more personal than your typical restaurant experience. Overall, Promenade Bondi Beach is the perfect spot whether you're looking for a relaxed drink, a delicious meal, or just a stunning place to unwind by the ocean. I can’t wait to come back on a bright sunny day and experience it all over again. Highly recommend!

Easily the best brunch I’ve had in SYD. The waitress with the old-school tattoos was incredibly kind and thoughtful — constantly checking if I was comfortable and even giving me the perfect seat with an ocean view. Traveling solo to Bondi can feel a bit nerve-racking, but she made it an experience I’ll never forget. Honestly, the fact this place isn’t rated a full 5 stars is unreal.

Relaxed Dining with Stunning Views Promenade Beach Bar offers breathtaking ocean views and a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere. There’s plenty of seating, attentive service, and a great coastal vibe. A wonderful spot to unwind and enjoy the best of

The location is amazing with a central view of Bondi beach. You have to order from your phone or at the counter. We had a light lunch focused on kids dishes and some entrees: the oysters and the Burrata. The drinks were the best part, we went for home made Hibiscus Green Iced Tea, Passion fruit Black Iced Tea and Mango soda. They were all very tasty and not too sugary!
Maxime B — Google review
Honestly disappointed. I’ve visited once and was thoroughly impressed however on my recent visit ordering the $99 set menu was not worth it. The tuna was bland, the bread was the star point (which is an issue because how is your bread and butter the best dish), the Wagyu pastrami lacked salt and depth, the kingfish completely overpowered the pasta and would’ve suited better as a standalone dish. The flavours were not harmonious and it was just not very enjoyable. The Barramundi curry has a strong Thai flavour profile but for a ‘high-end’ restaurant, it doesn’t beat a simple curry down the road. Two vegetable dishes to accompany the one fillet seemed extremely unnecessary and honestly seems like it was there to make it seem like the menu was worth it. I was thankful to receive the 49% off due to the closing of promenade rebranding to a Greek restaurant, but if I had to pay full price for that I would’ve been extremely upset. I also asked for the 5% gratuity fee to be taken off but I was still charged it and didn’t have the energy to fix it at that point. Hopefully the rebrand betters this restaurant!!
Bui B — Google review
Terrible lunch and possibly the worst pizza we’ve ever had. Having lived in Bondi for 8yrs we came back for a holiday and were excited to try this place out. The bases are bought in and it tells - so bad. Toppings decent but the pizza is just rubbish and not worth it even if they were the only pizza place open. Wine overpriced at $34 for a large glass of rose - happy to pay it for half decent wine. Service non existent and attitude. Stay away from this place.
Chesworth11 — Google review
Stunning location with seaside views that are best enjoyed from the outdoor seating area. 🍽️ The food was above average —Campanelle stood out as particularly well made, and the fish and chips came in a generous portion. 🥣 The crudo sauce was flavorful, though the fish slices could’ve been a bit thinner. 🤝 Service was decent—no major complaints
Madhuparna B — Google review
Was not expecting to have such good quality food on a tourist trappy location. The vibe was on point too, service is excellent. The pasta was surprisingly good, combi of burrata, tomato sauce and chilli works well, even a basic tomato and parm pasta was good for the kids. Lamb was good, the Bonito was decent and fresh. Hummus was very interesting and with the fresh veggies on the side was just a delight. Oysters were solid too. Maybe the worst thing there was the mignonette, preffered just lemon would be better. But im just being picky!Sourdough and butter very good too.

The service was amazing. This young Asian guy was so helpful. He was explaining to us what’s the food and how to order and everything as it was our first time at this restaurant and we’ve never had anything like that before he was very helpful, and his suggestion the food was fresh and tasty. this place is really nice good food and nice chilli flavour so spicy.

Charcoal fish is a Sichuan restaurant. The food is cooked very traditionaly and is spicy but very tasty. I suggest chilli barramundi with extra vegetables on top. Price is reasonable and no hidden surcharges. 👍🏼🙂

The menus are mainly in chinese which might make it a bit difficult for local to make an order. There are plenty of dishes to choose from including fresh fishes and frozen one. You can choose the spicy level and what ingredients you want in your grill fish. In comparison with other grilled fish restaurants in the area, this is so far my favourite and best value of money

Our favourite Chinese restaurant in Sydney. Period. We have been here for over 20 times already. The taste is very close to traditional Chinese taste already. The staff is very friendly, AND helpful. They have 5 fishes to choose from, we usually go with live barramundi. The price is great considering the same brand different branch in Central charges $2 more for every sides. They take Unionpay Quickpay, which means we can save another 11% cashback. Unfortunately they don't take AMEX, even though the window sticker says they do. Still, favourite!

Doyles on the Beach Restaurant is a renowned seafood establishment with a rich history dating back to 1885. The Doyle family has been serving fresh seafood for over five generations, earning them a beloved reputation among patrons and local fishermen. The restaurant offers an extensive wine list and picturesque harbor views, making it a popular dining spot. In addition to its classic fish and chips, the menu features upscale options like salmon and prawn kebabs, as well as fresh juices from the juice bar.
You know you are getting to get the best seafood at Doyle’s, what better way then to choose the entree platter followed by the main platter. Mix hot and cold seafood all in front of the most amazing view to the city. Back soon. PS / we came vis the city by ferry and grading back to manly

The fried platter was very generous in portion. The first layer came with a curry sauce, which was quite unique. It’s definitely too much for two people, so I’d recommend it for at least three. Since everything is deep-fried, it can feel a bit heavy after a while, but overall it was tasty.

We enjoyed an amazing dinner here at this historical restaurant that we have heard about so many times but had never visited until now. The setting was perfect and we were so fortunate to have a table with a fantastic view of the sunset. The food was fresh and delicious. The only thing I would comment upon would be the way the butter was served with our Artisan Sourdough Cob - it was a hard piece of butter that was in its wrapper that was difficult to spread on an already messy starter. I realise this is such a small thing, but given the standards of this restaurant with everything else, I wish to just express this as feedback and not a complaint in anyway at all. The staff were so lovely in their manner and hospitality and the ambience of the restaurant was just fantastic also. Definitely a place to experience a wonderful meal, at the same time experiencing some of Sydneys dining history.

Stunning view, but horrible service. We ordered the barramundi fillet but asked for sauce on the side as it contains alcohol (we let the waitress know our reasoning for not wanting sauce as well). Still, the barramundi arrived with sauce on the dish. We informed the manager about this mishap and instead of replacing our food he said the best he could do was to replace the kipfler potatoes with chips, and all the other side vegetables with salad. Not sure how he thought this was a reasonable substitute - we would have ordered fish and chips if that’s what we wanted. Chilli garlic prawn and grilled salmon tasted good, but there’s great restaurants in the Lower North Shore with great food, similar views, and much better service…

Food was great, the view was great. The service was fine in the beginning. But their system has issue of finding my bill when i ordered and paid via QR code on the table. They had no clue what to do. Although they asked my email for sending the bill, they never sent. I can not claim this bill due to no their invoice due to their system was not able to find my bill.

Wonderful seafood restaurant. Well priced menu. Superb wine list and a great atmosphere. Even when the rain was pouring down the place was so lively. Would be incredible in the sunshine.

I booked a table and brought my dog with us, thought to sit outside enjoying the sun. Unfortunately we found out that dogs are not allowed anywhere indoor and outdoor. Staff were very friendly, trying to help us. Eventually we sat on a table closest to the beach and a pole where I could tie my dog to and she can see us. Staff even brought my dog a bowl of water. We enjoyed the view, the food and the time there as a family of 5. Thank you.

Bathers' Pavilion is a charming restaurant and cafe housed in a 1920s building, offering a delightful experience with its seasonal Modern European cuisine and an extensive selection of over 350 wines. The establishment has been recognized with One Chef Hat by The SMH Good Food Guide from 2012 to 2014.
We are regulars at Bathers (my husband Gian more regular than me!). We think it is the best restaurant in Sydney - the service, the food and the ambiance is fabulous and we have never had a bad meal. The food is consistently good and the staff go out of their way to ensure everything is perfect. My husband loves the marron and the duck and I love the fish (all of them). It is very good value for the quality and service.

Unfortunately, the food in the bistro isn’t quite what I remember — the quality felt average. However, the lovely setting and beautiful views do help make it a pleasant experience overall.

It’s a fantastic spot for brunch, especially on a sunny day. Located right on Balmoral Beach, the views make a stunning backdrop. The service is warm and attentive, and the menu offers plenty of great options. The oysters and mussels were particularly impressive—juicy, sweet, and tender. There’s also a thoughtful kids’ menu, making it a great choice for families. Always a favourite of mine.

We came for the L’Enclume residency lunch. Amazing food, hard to get words for this one. Every course was something new we had never tried before. One of the great meals, totally worth it .
Richard P — Google review
Average food and below average service, unfortunately, I've had an unpleasant lunch at the bistro. We arrived at 11.40am for a 11.45am booking, been unattended at the entrance, while I made numerous attempts of eye contact with the busy waiters/waitresses walking past us, no one addressed us until I've got very confused and paranoid, not sure if this is purely rude or racist? I took my mum out for a lunch to enjoy the lovely weather, I've choosed Bathers instead of Gunners to be closer to the water on such a nice sunny day, absolutely ruined and started our meal unpleasant, will definitely not coming back again.

Bathers Pavilion for a limited time has been taken over by the Three Michelin Star chef from the UK, L'Enclume chef owner Simon Rogan and the executive chef of Bathers Aaron Ward. This collaboration showcase the best food for your experience. What an amazing night with each dish crafted with perfection and love. WOW. This 14 course menu was something we truly enjoyed and appreciated. The thought process goes beyond words. A truly unique night and enjoyed by all. Well done, looking forward to visiting again on your next visit. 👏👏👏🎉

The reviews were mildly positive about Bathers Pavilion for dinner, so we had somewhat low expectations. However, I'm happy to report we were more than pleasantly surprised by the quality of service and the food. The ambience was very pleasant, and the food was genuinely delicious (if a little on the pricier side), and there were perfect wines to accompany it. The service was not only attentive, but the manager genuinely made our evening by bringing out a specially tailored dessert (even though we'd made no mention anywhere in our booking that it was our anniversary)! We'll definitely be back and highly recommend.

The Boathouse Balmoral is a popular beachside cafe located in one of Sydney's most picturesque coastal suburbs. It offers a rustic-chic charm and serves hearty comfort food, including a delicious selection of crepes and galettes at Creperie Suzette. The cafe also boasts its own-blend coffee from Double Roasters, which pairs perfectly with the delectable menu offerings.
A great spot with a gorgeous view. It’s an order from the counter / QR code situation, but the casual nature matches its vibe. The food and drinks are good, but a touch overpriced for the quality. If you can go on a weekday when it’s not so crazy.

Food is very very dusty. Soba noodle salad very bland and dry. Shnitty had brown slaw, cold chips, and aioli sauce served in a coffee cup that looked a week old. Shame about the food considering a nice setting.

The Boathouse Balmoral Beach is one of those hidden gems that only locals and those in the know tend to visit. Located near the stunning Balmoral Beach, it offers breathtaking views that truly enhance the dining experience. The interior is stylish and reminiscent of the chic vibes you find in Manly, but with a spacious layout that feels open and inviting rather than crowded. When we visited, we chose to sit outside, enjoying our meal with the beautiful beach right in front of us. The combination of the fresh sea breeze, the calming sound of the waves, and the tasteful décor made for a truly memorable outing. Whether you're after a relaxed brunch or a leisurely lunch, this place delivers both on atmosphere and quality. It’s definitely a spot I’d recommend if you want to experience great food alongside one of the best coastal views in the area.

Came on sunday the 21st at around 2:30 with the wife and 2 daughters, got the chicken burger, chocolate milkshake and a nice long black for me, and my wife got the soba noodle salad, green smoothie and a cappucino. The 2 youngins got wings, chips and 2 mango smoothies. The food was incredible, just maybe a little less sauce on the chicken burger. But boy oh boy those chips and drinks! Not too sure what the recipe is for those chips but i must know! Its almost like Gustavo fring made them 🤣🤣 (emily told me that show and i should watch it good). Those drinks as well! I had the best ever milkshake that has entered the vicinity of my mouth! The coffees were really good too, surprised that they came quickly, as have been previously in the morning for a 25 minute wait. I was incredibly flattered with the food, and will be recommending this too my friends!!!

Manly Fish Market is a popular spot tucked away in Wentworth St, offering classic fish and chips that attract surfers and early morning swimmers. The go-to fish is hake, served with hand-cut potato scallops and a lemon wedge. Customers rave about the pineapple fritters and the fresh, thick portions of fish. While it can get busy during lunchtime, the wait is worth it for the delicious food and great customer service.
Great fresh and cooked fish and chips in Wentworth St Manly, opposite South Steyne, Manly. This is a popular destination where locals buy fresh fish. Popular destination for the tourists buying lunch and dinner with many options - fried, grilled, crumbed and battered. I have included a photo of the menu. There are limited seating options inside, however most people end up across the road at one of the tables overlooking the beach. As a popular destination there can occasionally be a bit of a wait to receive your cooked fish order. Always tasty, locally owned and operated with a friendly team. Highly recommended.

I stopped in whilst wandering Manly. A poster on the wall claimed they were the best in Australia for their fish and chips. A big call. And you know what? They’re correct. I had a crumbed hake and chips and it was easily the best fish and chips I’ve eaten in years. Pleasant team providing great service. Definitely recommended.

The food here is incredibly fresh, delicious, and absolutely awesome! My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal. There’s a wide variety of fish to choose from, and the prices are quite reasonable. Really enjoyed the seafood here, there was a huge selection on the menu ranging from your classics including potato scallops, seafood sticks etc through to grilled octopus, fresh scallops and a range of delicious looking salad. Service was great, didn't take long at all and ate in store. Would recommend it if you are looking for fish and chips after a trip to the beach.

Good range, well-displayed with lots of hard to find items, like trays of sea urchin roe and fillets of whiting. We ate the latter pan-fried with rocket, mint and mayonnaise on a crusty white bun: beautiful. The sea urchin we teamed with king prawns on home-grown betel leaves for a fabulous lunch the next day. Would return next time I’m in the area.

It is just food nothing special. Couldn’t taste the marinade on the tuna. Also the tuna was well done but I ordered it medium. We ordered 3 meals but got it on 2 plates. On one plate were 2 different fish. We wouldn’t come again!

They said it was fresh... thick sticky slime. I took it back 15min from purchasing. I was amazed out how the lady managing the place reacted "great management skills". She totally dismissed me and let the poor guys in the back of the shop deal with my concerns who were really nice. I felt sorry for them. I won't be going back. From experience anywhere under 4 stars is a red flag, I think this just reinforces this view.

Very affordable fish and chips shop in Cronulla great spot for a casual lunch. I had the seafood paella for lunch. It was ok, just would have liked the crispiness of how a Spanish paella would be however for the price you pay I don't have too much to complain about.

I got a mix of seafood salad and octopus salad. Seafood salad should have a tang to it I had to add lemon and still tasteless. Octopus was tough, I know my seafood but this was not worth 27.00 at all, quite disappointing. Ordered medium salad looked more like a small.

Checked out this restaurant today! They have seating areas which was perfect for the family! We ordered the platter for 2, i did enjoy the food but was so so full! Despite some concerns about portion sizes and pricing changes over time, many still appreciate the quality of food and excellent customer service at this spot.
Really good fish & chips, massive portion sizes, cheap, fast and fresh fish with a crispy battery and hand cut fries, well worth visiting again :)

I recently visited this fish and chips shop, and I have to say, it's the best in Sydney! The products are incredibly fresh, and their king prawn burger is simply delicious. What sets them apart is the homemade sauces, each with a unique and delightful taste. The staff are highly professional, and the work environment is spotless—everything is tidy and clean. If you're in Sydney, you must try their fish and chips. You won't be disappointed!

Great fish and chips with friendly service. The fish size is really big, not the tiny inflated cut you see elsewhere. Another layer of attention to detail I observed: the staff put a layer of chicken salt on the chips, before placing the fish and add another layer of chicken salt to ensure even coating and no bland chips. You can tell the shop takes pride in their product

Absolutely great food. The batter is light and crispy, the fish is fresh, the chips are spot on. Got here at about 12.30pm on a weekday and the place had a line with about eight people ahead of me but despite that, I had my order ready in short order. The shop itself is well taken care of with a nice frontage and clean, readable signage + menus. Heathcote Fish & Chips are running a fantastic shop! Couldn't ask for more, 11/10

We oredered Flathead with coleslaw, half a dozen oysters and salt & pepper calamari. The calamari and flathead were nice with a crispy batter. The coleslaw was average but the oysters were off. They were slimy and discoloured. I ate one and left the rest. I understand being an inner city spot has a higher price point but $41.50 for a piece of flathead is crazy. In total almost $100 for fish and chips for 2 is quite expensive.

Looking for a quick meal after swimming at Cronulla. Went into Paris Seafood without much of an expectation (well, fish and chips, can’t go wrong, nor can be too great?). Definitely exceeded expectation by far. 1. Very friendly and polite staff. 2. We have ordered the whiting fillet with chips per the special of the day menu, together with a few other items. Kids approved; they have eaten more fish than chips. Oh... that batter... so light, fluffy and crispy, and fish cooked just right. Don't think anyone would question the quality even if it's platted up at an up-market restaurant. Definitely one of the best in Sydney. Other items were spot on. Generous cut of tender calamari rings. The locals surely kept this place as a secret. This is now our favourite when visiting Cronulla. Tips: get there early or between lunch/dinner, they do get busy. We went there early and people started to come in from about 630pm.

We've been visiting this fish and chips shop for many years and can honestly say that it is the best fish and chips shop around. There is always a wait time of 10-20 minutes because their fish are freshly cooked to order and not pre-fryed; batter is thin and crunchy and not oily. Their chips taste just like home made, wholesome and delicious. Our favorite is the battered whiting fillets with chips and grilled octopus with chips, great protion size and perfect for sharing. If you are visiting cronulla, be sure to check out this place and you won't be disappointed.

Wow, what an unexpected surprise of deliciousness. Stopped past on my way home after a walk to grad some food for my family, expecting just an average fish and chip shop and we can’t believe how good this food was. It's a great place to have a drink or get a bite. The pizza is fantastic. Fish and chips as well as other choices are good. Cocktails and beers are 👍. Of course the atmosphere is fantastic next to the water. Service especially outside tables could be a little better. Overall, love the place.

Came for lunch on a Sunday. Place was about 70% full. Ordered via QR code, drinks came out really quickly. We ordered a dozen oysters kilpatrick, give these a miss, it tasted like bacon but looked like mince and smothered in bbq sauce, really disappointing. The rest of the food was better, great size servings of calamari, fish & chips, chicken salad and pizza. We shared our food so not bothered that they came out staggered. Staff are lovely, great view from most tables.

If you bring a cake for a birthday they charge $3 per plate to serve. They don't know how to cut cake so at least learn that before charging a fee. The sweet potato fries and pizzas were good, salads not so much. Staff were nice / embarrassed to say it costs $3 per plate. Nice views.

First time at Felons Brewing. Very happy we decided to stop. Fantastic spot on the water. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The food was excellent. We had pizza and sweet potato fries. These were really good. Drinks was the Margarita and the local beer. Very good with a good variety.

Great location and fantastic ambience. It was a cold and rainy night when we attended, but I could imagine this place being extremely popular on a nice summers day. We were fortunate to experience some live music. The paddle of various brews was delicious and I personally loved the Galaxy Haze. The food was the only thing that let us down. We thoroughly enjoyed the Half Shell Scallops and the Fresh Maloolaba Prawns but we were let down with the Gambero Pizza - given the delicious prawns we had with our starter, we could tell the pizza had scrappy tiny little frozen prawns on it. We tend to enjoy that pizza at many other venues and this one was at the bottom of the list for our faves. This doesn't take away from how great the venue was and how fantastic the staff were with their service but would advise against ordering this particular pizza.

This bar is massive, plenty of seating with great views all around. Exceptionally clean. I am a GenXr that loves technology, so love the ability to order at the table using my phone. However, love being able to actually talk to the bartender too, because when you are drinking real beer (Imperial Stout in our case) you need to be able to at least know who is pouring your pint. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Good selection of beers of all variety and food is quick and good. Highly recommend as a great stop when you get off the Manly Ferry to sit down, have a pint, and map our your manly visit.

Sunday lunch, porchetta was fantastic. As was the steak frites. Service is a little patchy, but will let them off as it’s a large venue with a big menu - and staff are friendly. Great location, lovely to sit outside in the sun even on a winters day. Guy at the bar was very friendly, which was nice. QR codes outside didn’t work. Super chill spot! Had the best experience today. The view is stunning, food was great, and the coffee amazing as always! Loved sitting by the water and just enjoying the vibe. Big shoutout to Pauline she’s my fave barista! Her coffee is always spot on and she’s so lovely. Always makes us feel welcome as regulars. Definitely recommend this café if you’re in the area

The place is absolutely amazing! Having a coffee by the water is so beautiful and relaxing. The service is also excellent, very warm and welcoming. One of the staff members name Pauline is super lovely. She always greets me with a smile whenever I come in. It’s little things like that which make the experience even better. Highly recommend!

This was just after a kayaking trip in the Sydney harbour and what a treat it was . Old establishment with surprisingly full tables and serving some delicious scones and coffee. I also noticed that the place had an old library and some amazing naval stories there Loved the vibe 😁

The Rocks Cafe is a casual dining spot housed in a restored 19th-century market, offering a diverse menu with options like burgers, salads, pasta, and even grilled kangaroo fillet. Located in downtown Sydney's The Rocks area, the cafe boasts a blend of modern Australian architecture and classic bohemian ambiance. It also features a play center called The Play Cave for kids to enjoy while parents savor delectable cakes and Campos Coffee.
Great Italian and western food restaurant at the Rocks, Sydney. Indoor and outdoor seating. Food is delicious and service is quite fast. Great ambience and nice selection of cakes and dessert too. 5 minutes walk from circular quay.

Located in the heart of The Rocks, this is the perfect place to experience a Sydney vibe. Despite being in a tourist hotspot, it does not feel like a tourist trap and serves good quality food & coffee at normal Sydney prices with great ambience - we very much enjoyed it as locals out in town for the day. While it was a nice sunny day, it was chilly and we had to sit outside as the inside area was full; however, the staff turned on the heaters for us and it was actually really pleasant.

Had chips, Fish of the day, Kangaroo fillet, Lamb skewers and crab pasta. Foods were super good, manager greeted us so nicely and felt very welcomed. Staffs were super nice too, everything was perfect. Recommend so much if you are looking for restaurant near Circular Quay.

The Rocks Café in Sydney is a charming spot that perfectly captures the relaxed yet vibrant energy of the harbour area. The ambience is warm and welcoming, with a mix of heritage character and modern comfort. Sitting outdoors, you’re surrounded by the hum of tourists and locals alike, with glimpses of the water and the gentle sea breeze adding to the appeal. It’s an ideal place to slow down, people-watch, and soak in Sydney’s historic atmosphere. The café’s outdoor seating near the harbour makes it particularly memorable. Whether it’s for a casual breakfast, a mid-day coffee, or a light dinner, the view and setting elevate the entire experience. The staff are friendly and attentive, adding to the relaxed but polished feel. Overall, The Rocks Café offers one of the most pleasant dining ambiences in Sydney’s historic district — a lovely balance of good food, great location, and the kind of atmosphere that makes you linger a little longer than planned.

I visited The Rocks Cafe in Sydney on November 1, 2025 with colleagues, and had such a great experience. It was my first time traveling to Australia and it was really nice to try their menu. The place has a great vibe with friendly staff, especially David, and has a cozy atmosphere. I tried kangaroo steak for the first time and it was a bit gamey but actually pretty good. I had it in medium rare. The chicken penne and calamari was also delicious, and the chips with truffle dip were amazing. We paired our meal with mocktails in passion and peach spritz, which went perfectly with the food. For the dessert, mud cake was so good I would go back just for that! Lemon meringue is just not for me but my colleagues loved it. The vanilla ice cream on the lemon meringue, that one I super duper love! Great spot in The Rocks and perfect for trying some Aussie dishes.

Arrived at around 2-3pm, indoor was all full and had to seat outside. Staff warned no changing of seat even it was pouring. Ordered a chicken schnitzel. Schnitzel was fried meat fillet, the chicken was very thin and dry generally, the seasoning was also plain. Cheese on top was slightly bringing flavour to the dish, but was later too heavy to finish. The fries was not pre seasoned and was plain. The salad was fresh and large in portion. Total ~$35.

Visited The Rocks Café in Sydney, and it perfectly captured the charm of The Rocks area. Enjoyed a cold beer while sitting outside, watching people stroll through the cobblestone streets. The café had a warm, old-town vibe with friendly service and a laid-back atmosphere. They also offer a solid menu of classic Australian dishes and desserts, so it’s great for both meals and drinks. It’s one of those spots where you can slow down, enjoy the moment, and soak in Sydney’s history. Highly recommend for an afternoon beer or casual lunch.

The Waterfront Cafe & General Store is a bustling waterfront spot featuring a spacious, heated open-air deck where visitors can enjoy bistro-style meals, delectable cakes, and refreshing cocktails. Situated in the scenic Church Point area of Pittwater, this family-run establishment offers a laid-back atmosphere and picturesque views of the waterway. Guests can relax on the breezy deck while observing tug boats and small boats passing by.
I went with my wife to hear the band, which was fantastic. It was a 90-minute drive to get there, and well worth the effort. The music, service, food and vista was just wonderful. Definitely recommend going here.

The Waterfront cafe is a great place for a casual meal. Open for breakfast, lunch or dinner locals and visitors can be seen coming and going. The superb vibe comes from its excellent location. While still in greater Sydney the cafe feels more like we were in a more Bond movie set as sea plane flew over head. Back to the restaurant. The Waterfront staff are friendly but very focused on keep things moving. The food is simple but tasty. We tried a number of dishes. Personally I think the pizzas were my favourite on the menu. The wine list was short but provided us with a drop deserving of the vista. We visited on a number of occasions and prefer it to the neighbouring option. For me it was the location of the cafe and ordering a nice bottle of wine which makes the Waterfront cafe worth a visit.
Brendan — Google review
The setting is absolutely lovely — the café is located right on the water at Church Point with a relaxed deck overlooking the inlet. Great for enjoying coffee or a meal with a view. They emphasise locally-sourced, seasonal produce, which shows in some of the dishes and menu offerings. It’s more than just a café — the “General Store” side adds charm (grocery items, homewares, bottle shop) which gives it a community, multi-purpose vibe rather than just another brunch spot. If you go early or for a coffee/ brunch, it can be a lovely, laid-back experience: the combination of water views + fresh food + good coffee makes for a pleasing outing. If you’re looking for a relaxed brunch, coffee with a waterfront view, or a casual meal in a scenic location — The Waterfront Cafe & General Store is a very good option. The atmosphere and setting add a lot of charm. However, if you’re looking for flawless service, or a fine-dining experience, you might want to go in with moderate expectations around pace, service style and value. TIP: Try to visit early morning or around the brunch period to get a good deck seat and avoid the busiest rush. Make a point of browsing the General Store section afterward — it’s part of the unique character. Ideal for casual visits: coffee, brunch, scenic catch-ups.

The atmosphere is absolutely wonderful, making it a great spot to enjoy dinner or drinks while taking in the scenic views. The food was delicious; we had the Catch of the Day (Barramundi fish), Crab Risotto, and Creamy Cheesy Penne for the kids, all of which were flavourful and served in generous portions. The staff were very friendly, and the restaurant also has a small store, adding to its charm. However, upon arrival, we noticed that our waiter had an unpleasant odour, which initially raised concerns about hygiene and made us hesitant about the food. Fortunately, the dishes turned out to be excellent, proving our initial impression wrong. If you're in the area, it's a nice spot for a meal or drinks, with plenty of paid parking available nearby. The surrounding area is also great for a short walk before or after your meal.
Bassem A — Google review
Imust say, everything exceeded my expectations. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt warm and inviting. The staff were extremely polite, attentive, and made sure we were comfortable throughout our meal. The food was simply amazing full of authentic flavours and beautifully presented. Every dish we ordered tasted fresh and well-balanced, and you could really tell that a lot of love and care went into the preparation. I also appreciated how quickly the food arrived, overall it was amazing 🫶🏻❤️

⭐☆☆☆☆ Honest Review – Great View, Terrible Food My friend and I visited Church Point Café recently, and unfortunately, we were both very disappointed with the food quality and value for money. Yes, the view is beautiful and the outdoor setting is pleasant — but that’s really the only positive thing I can say. I ordered a beef burger that cost $36, and the patty had a strong unpleasant smell, not fresh at all. The portion was tiny, and the fries came in a very small box. Honestly, I live in Sydney’s northwest, and for the same price I could get three wagyu burgers with proper size and taste. My friend ordered the shell pasta. It was a very small portion — she’s a petite girl and still didn’t feel full. The seafood was definitely frozen, not fresh, and the flavor was bland. We paid around $80 for just two dishes and left hungry. Later that night, we had dinner in Homebush — a charcoal-grilled wagyu dish, a seafood claypot, a big plate of fried noodles, and salt & pepper ribs. We even packed two dishes to take home, and they became our lunch the next day. i understand the western suburbs are usually cheaper, but even taking that into account, the difference in portion size, freshness, and taste is just too big. If you want to charge premium prices for the view, at least make the food worth it — give us more than a handful of pasta or a few fries. I haven’t been to the Northern Beaches area for a while and didn’t expect this kind of experience. I don’t mind spending $100–$200 for a nice meal when it’s truly good — but this time, it just wasn’t worth it. Beautiful scenery, yes — but a very poor dining experience overall. ⸻
Mark L — Google review
Tucked away at the edge of Pittwater, The Waterfront Café & General Store in Church Point serves serious coastal energy with a laid-back, urban edge. Think reclaimed timber, boats rocking gently in the bay, and locals sipping espresso like it’s an art form. The menu hits the sweet spot between comfort and class — the prawn and mango salad is zesty and bright, while the truffle mushroom risotto brings that creamy, rich downtown decadence. House-roasted coffee is strong (like your ex should’ve been), and the wine list doesn’t play — a crisp white on the deck here just hits different. Add in live tunes from the Co-Op Club and a general store stocked with local goodies, and you’ve got more than a café — you’ve got a vibe. Pull up, slow down, and soak it in.

Fish and chips takeaway
Takeout Restaurant
Seafood restaurant
Doyles on the Wharf is a seafood restaurant with a relaxed vibe that produces upscale fish 'n' chips to eat in or take away. The fish was nicely grilled and still moist, the salad crisp and fresh, and the chips were a little dry but not bad at all.
If your looking for a super fresh, high protein, healthy and affordable meal, a fish & chips shop at a touristy ferry terminal might not be what comes to mind HOWEVER you can get this gorgeous jam-packed prawn roll for $13. Yes it was as good as it looks, I overheard people coming off the ferry audibly gasp when they walked past me and then they went and ordered one, and I’m sure they were as pleased as I was. Not to mention excellent ambiance and views for a casual bite
Emma O — Google review
I had to wait 2 months before I could posted my opinion. This was the most disappointing F&C we have had! And this was at Doyles on the Wharf! Maybe my expectation of their food was too high? It looks good, but that's where it stopped. The fish was dry, chips were yellow and very dry! The salad was okay, bit soggy at bottom, mash potato had a weird taste. The best part was the views. My advice, skip the Wharf, and go to the Doyls on the beach or Garden Bar area, near by.

Doyles on the Beach is an Australian seafood restaurant founded in 1885. Located on Marine Parade in Watsons Bay. This outlet is adjoining the Wharf. Good fish and chips options. Reasonable quantity. Special boxes available with Calamari. Prices are average and service quick.
Joydip S — Google review
The most mediocre fish and chips you'll find. Do not waste your money, eat anywhere else unless the only thing you care about is finding the cheapest place to eat. I'm sure the Doyle's restaurant is much nicer (though very expensive) but do not bother with this takeaway. Salt and pepper squid was rubbery and fairly flavourless. Chips where the cheapest, least impressive chips you can get unfortunately. I will give them points for serving size value for money.

We ordered salt and pepper squid based on the recommendation of the young lad. Love the tartare sauce but not a fan of the chips. Squid was fresh & hot and we have a nice view of the CBD.

Located at 1 Military Road, Watsons Bay, New South Wales, Australia 🇦🇺 Have been here several times now and have never been disappointed. The food is delicious and I think reasonably priced considering the location. I had the battered prawns and chips today and they were delicious. It was overcast 🌧️ so we sat inside, usually we get takeout and eat at one of the tables in Robertsons Park which is right in front of the wharf. There’s good toilet facilities and you can get there pretty easily by public transportation ie ferry ⛴️, bus 🚌 or you can drive. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. This is a great place to come to for lunch when having a day out with friends and family. Thoroughly recommend. Thumbs up!!👍👍👍👍

Restaurant
Saint Peter at The Grand National Hotel is a seafood restaurant that has made a significant impact on the Australian seafood scene. It is the embodiment of Josh Niland's vision to celebrate and push the boundaries of Australian catches in a contemporary, elegant counter setting with views of the chefs at work.
Lunch at Saint Peter was nothing short of extraordinary. This acclaimed 3-hatted restaurant sets a new benchmark for seafood in Sydney. From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted with warmth and professionalism that made us feel genuinely welcome. The open kitchen brought a dynamic, lively atmosphere—it was captivating to watch the chefs bring each dish to life. We began with their signature Fish Charcuterie, a brilliant and unexpected twist that showcased the ocean’s bounty in the most imaginative way. Who would’ve thought seafood cold cuts could be this impressive? Every dish that followed was thoughtfully crafted, full of bold yet refined flavors, and presented with precision. It was clear we weren’t just having lunch—we were part of a carefully curated dining experience. Without a doubt, this was the best meal I’ve had in Sydney. An afternoon to remember, and one I’d gladly return for.

Truly a wonderful to enjoy every bit of how one's fish is fully optimized to your every dishes. Was amazed from the very beginning, the bone, dry aged, and then I lost translation but it was an amazing soup / palette starter..we were at the main dining room, felt little warm, due to close proximity to the action, and Josh was there not leaving any detail untouched. Wonderful experience and try not to start with this restaurant if youre going to explore others later..it kinda spoilt your tastebud on what others has to offer in terms of fish 😉

This meal was at the bar, we didn’t book and just walked in late on a weeknight. Service was lovely and gave us choice of where to sit. Great atmosphere for a weeknight, warm quiet and intimate at the booth. Bar menu perfect for when our appetites are light and snacks and drinks were enough. Fresh, delicate, ingenious, nuanced. Would recommend the fish of the day + olives (it was mackerel for us) together with complimentary A P Bread and cultured butter. And you wouldn’t know the burger was tuna - it was akin to beef! We ate fish eyes, fish scales, oyster shells and it was all delicious. A good teaser for what the fuller restaurant menu may be like and I’d love to return for it.

We’ve been wanting to get to St Peter for quite some time and it did not disappoint. As 3 coeliac diners we were incredibly well looked after. The courses were truly innovative and the flavours were next level yet perfectly balanced. The team had the full details of the sustainably sourced seafood and produce. Highly recommended dining experience. 5 stars across the board.

We stayed for 1 night there. We took an Uber there but had lost our phone before checking in. We were so lucky to have been greeted by DANUTE, who basically saved not just our hotel experience from going wrong, but our whole holiday. We had left our phone with the uber driver accidentally upon arrival, only to realise the driver already left before we knew it. DANUTE was marvellous and in our view went above and beyond to ensure we were absolutely going to get our phone back, plus she made the rest of our stay amazing. DANUTE’S empathy, patience, understanding and initiative in bending over backwards to help and accommodate us blew us away. DANUTE is THE DEFINITION OF CUSTOMER SERVICE at its finest. Saint Peter is so lucky to have you, you made us feel this is the type of service and luxury accommodation that Saint Peter is all about. TO THE OWNER JOSH, DANUTE deserves a promotion for how she gracefully handled everything for us, humble and welcoming. DANUTE never lost her patience, instead always making sure after we retrieved our phone, that we were OK. A true asset to Saint Peter hotel, DANUTE you’re one of the kind in customer service, we hardly ever experience these days. If you book for this hotel, and are fortunate enough to be greeted by DANUTE, we promise you, you will keep returning - it’s like a very good chef at a restaurant, except you’re returning because of the service and luxury Saint Peter consistently promises. The food - excellent, highly recommended! Thank you so much Saint Peter, we’ll be back for sure!

Went with a party where some had been here and others, myself included, had not. I had no idea what to expect, and right from the first course, a consume, I was left with my mind blown. The entire meal serves as a testament to the power of fish, with each course progressively introducing you to a different part of the fish, culminating in the main courses finally serving you the regular cut of fish in all its glory. What stands this above other fine dining restaurants is it not only redefines conventional dishes, but it does so by redefining how fish can be used. The sustainability of the project is a nice added touch. I’d highly recommend, with my personal stand out dishes being salt and vinegar dipping bread and the main with Murray cod.
Alyssia B — Google review
I came from Melbourne and was very lucky to get a table for tonight. The portions were very generous, and every detail — from the appetizers to the desserts — was executed to perfection. The staff were also highly professional. I’m truly grateful for the wonderful food and service tonight — absolutely delighted!
Hannah L — Google review
This is a harsh score, as my wife and I had a really lovely evening. The staff were all very warm and welcoming and we felt well looked after. The cocktails are wine were also lovely. The food just isn’t it though. It was a nice enough meal but nothing that really stands out, nothing that you’d remember afterwards. The chef is more focussed on demonstrating how it’s possible to use every part of the fish, rather than making it taste delicious. It feels somewhat like you’ve been dragged into his social enterprise to fish sustainably, and he’s forgotten that it’s also meant to taste amazing. This restaurant is in a similar price bracket to Oncore and is unfortunately not in the same league in terms of food. By the end of it I was desperate to have a course with more vegetables and carbs, and needed a break from fish parts, only to be presented with a plate of sweets that he’d also added fish to, not sure why.

Nice location perched above a small beach. Clean and interested staff. Others in my group thought the food was good. 2 of us had beer battered fish and chips. It was flavourless and had far too much oily batter. Their coffee was a little in the weak side. Based on my experience i wouldn't recommend it. There are other similar beaching cafes offering much tastier food at a similar or more reasonable price

Faultless breakfast on a sunny winter Saturday morning today. We're from out of the area and decided to have a look around Laperouse on a whim, and came across The Boatshed . We had a stunning table right next to the beach which had crystal clear aqua blue water, and were warmed by the sun as we enjoyed good coffees and equally good gourmet bacon egg rolls. We had a lovely lunch here. We’d been for a walk in the area with our little dog and came here for lunch. We sat in the deck outside and the view was amazing, and it suited us perfectly because the dog could sit under the table at our feet. The food was delicious- the steak was cooked perfectly, and the chips were quite good, but could have been crispier. The side salad was yum with great dressing. My husband had the duck on Jerusalem artichoke and really enjoyed it. The food was quite expensive, but given the view and the quality of the food, we thought it was reasonable for what we received and it felt like a special experience.

I just have to say, these are hands down the most creative and delicious seafood tacos I've ever had. The calamari, in particular, was cooked to perfection, such a beautiful texture. The grilled fish was seasoned beautifully as well. A huge thank you to Saj for serving us today. You were incredibly accommodating, friendly, and truly went above and beyond with both the service and the food. Everything was exceptional!

Still drooling….. do yourself a favour and head into Fish & Co for Australia’s best (proper) Lobster Roll!!! It’s one of the best I’ve ever had and so, have no problem recommending them. Make sure you tell Sajad (the owner) that Susie sent you. He’ll add a glass of wine for free. Not really but glad you’re still reading this recommendation because it’s that good!

Today I was feeling like a sweet treat and my friends and I walked past fish and co to see a 4 dollar ice cream. Which I personally thought was a great deal!! I got the ice cream served by a lovely waitress called Georgia she was so sweet and served my friends and I with a smile. Once I tasted the ice cream my craving where instantly satisfied absolutely wonderful will be coming back to try the food hopefully it meets the same standards as the ice cream. Thank you Georgia for this pleasant experience

Delicious seafood experience at a well-decorated restaurant. The staff were friendly and supportive with whatever requests we had during our lunch. The images attached comprise of a lobster roll and a classic fish & chips. -Stergos

I ordered seafood chowder to takeaway. It was okay. There was a lot of potato, not much whole seafood, and the bread was okay. It's not worth the $22, unfortunately. Not much flavour but good to have during cold weather.

Had my favourite lunch in ages today. Fish and chips with house-made tartare sauce. Delicious. Only $16 for a big serving. Worth it for the sauce alone.

I like this restaurant. It doesn't seem like it gets the most patronage, which is a pity. The quality of the food is good, and service is quick, and the premises are creatively decorated.
Nicholas H — Google review
The seafood was very high quality but the portions are very small. The starter octopus was 3 pieces and the sourdough were slices of white bread. The kids fish cost $18 and the size of 2x 5cm fish tails. With not even a handful of chips. Wish I had taken a photo. When addressed with the staff they kindly added more fish so service was very accomodating.

Seafood market
Sydney Fish Market is a beloved institution among locals and a world-famous seafood destination. It's the second-largest seafood market globally in terms of variety, offering some of the freshest seafood in Sydney. The market features shops for seafood, deli items, wine, and baked goods, as well as casual cafes and restaurants serving fresh oysters and fish and chips.
Sydney Fish Market is a must-visit if you love seafood! The variety is amazing! everything from fresh prawns and oysters to sushi, lobster, and sashimi. We tried a little bit of everything and it was all so fresh and delicious. It does get really busy, especially around lunchtime, but that’s part of the fun and atmosphere. Prices are reasonable for the quality you’re getting, and there’s plenty of seating by the water where you can enjoy your food. Just watch out for the seagulls if you’re eating outside! Definitely worth the stop when you’re in Sydney.

must-visit for seafood lovers. 🦞🐟 The variety is incredible — from fresh oysters, lobsters, prawns, and sushi to cooked dishes like fish & chips. Everything is fresh, flavorful, and reasonably priced for the quality. It can get very busy, especially around lunch, but the lively atmosphere adds to the experience. Seating is available inside and outside, with a nice view of the water. Perfect place to enjoy fresh seafood in Sydney!

Arrived at 3.20pm and it seems like most stalls are already washing up and closing, no more cooking of seafood. Had a quick look and the seafood is indeed fresh and of high quality, however, the prices are on the high side as you can expect of a tourist spot. Got a quick bite for $5 but didn’t managed to catch anything else as it was already near closing time. Would still recommend a visit if you are in the vicinity and enjoys seafood, you choose the items, they cook for you.
Tong T — Google review
The entrance is free, do not believe what’s on Google review that says $95 on ticket section. Got plenty of good food from Multiple food vendors. Many varieties of fish, prawn and crab that you can cook at home, lots of choices but if you want to eat in the market just be careful with the seagulls, those birds love to steal people’s food but thankfully they never snach mine. What I don’t like about this market is when so many Chinese tourists come here, they don’t know the basic manner like standing on the queue or just saying “excuse me & sorry”.
Thomas C — Google review
Had an awesome time at Sydney Fish Market! The seafood was super fresh and tasty — loved the oysters, salmon, scallops, and prawns. The crab legs were amazing too! Great portions, lively vibe, and that fresh coconut drink was the perfect finish. Definitely a must-visit for seafood lovers in Sydney! 🦪🦐🐟🍋

An amazing place to get a variety of seafood from raw to cooked. First up, parking can be a headache. I'd recommend going through the market first before buying from just one place. I found some places were more expensive than others and were selling the same produce. I'd definitely recommend getting sea urchin topped oysters, they're really nice!
Arz E — Google review
Plenty of fresh seafood to choose from! You can pick your seafood from the shops and they’ll cook it for you on the spot, or prepare fresh sashimi slices right in front of you. It’s a great experience for seafood lovers. Just a heads up if you sit outdoors, you’ll likely get swarmed by seagulls, so it’s best to eat indoors or take your food elsewhere.
Kuan-Yu C — Google review
Extraordinary feast for the senses for lovers of seafood. One suspects short cuts have been taken with the vast array of prepared options but can not fault the freshly cooked Lobster nor the service at Nicholas Seafood. Went back to the purchase point seeking a "doggy bag" when the size of the Lobster proved our eyes were larger than our stomaches and were asked to bring it back and they cracked and repacked for us to takeaway. Sat outside to eat and noted that the some common sense such as keeping the food covered from the view of the seagulls untill we sat down, avoided the gull stampede.

South Beach Seafood Cronulla – A Must-Visit! South Side Seafood in Cronulla serves up the best seafood we have ever tasted! We enjoyed a perfectly grilled fish, fresh prawns, and tender calamari, all cooked to perfection. The standout was their incredible house-made chilli mayo sauce – it added a delicious kick that elevated every bite. The quality, freshness, and flavors were unmatched, making it a meal to remember. Whether you're a seafood lover or just looking for an amazing dining experience, South Side Seafood is highly recommended. We'll definitely be back for more!

fish and chips are some of the best i've ever had in a long time, short wait time of about 10min between ordering and collected. limited indoor seating and is pretty noisy inside even with few people, while the outdoor seating is way nicer and is still covered with wind breaker walls
Meeble — Google review
Food is good and well priced but your set up is wrong. You do chips on the bottom, then fish etc on top, then salt. So the chips get 0 salt underneath :(
Casey G — Google review
The grilled dory pack with chips and salad was delicious. We shared between 2 and it was quite satisfying. We sat at the outside tables with ocean glimpses which was really quite relaxing. Service with a smile and the order was out quickly. The better half loved the dory, I loved the chips, have not had some so tasty and crisp for a while. It was a really good spur of the moment decision. A little on the pricey side for a basic fish and chip outlet.

The seafood was incredibly fresh and full of flavour . You can really taste the quality in every bite. The chips were perfectly seasoned and crispy, and honestly, they serve one of the best salads I’ve ever had fresh, vibrant, and so tasty. The location is unbeatable, with a stunning view overlooking Cronulla Beach that makes the whole experience even more enjoyable. Despite being packed with customers, the staff were super friendly and efficient service was fast and with a smile. Highly recommend if you’re after kids friendly location with great seafood, good vibes, and an amazing beachside view.

The standout dish here is undoubtedly the golden kataifi prawns drizzled with honey, which are a must-try. The restaurant is very clean, and the staff are wonderful. Everything is great and delicious, but I think the seasoning would be perfect if it included garlic, cumin, and black pepper. A note: the drink options are limited, there is no family-sized option, and the prices are very high for the drinks

We had the most delicious lunch at this delightful eatery today and for such good value. The prawns were delicious, the battered fish bites were the best we've had, the calamari rings, the Greek salad, the hot chips - everything was super fresh, clean and so tasty. Fish at the Bay is a top-notch fish and chip spot that offers an authentic and delightful experience. The venue provides generous portions of perfectly cooked fish with thin crispy batter, accompanied by fresh chips. Customers can enjoy their meals on Rose Bay Beach, making for a delightful dining experience with a beautiful sunset backdrop. The shop itself has a welcoming atmosphere, and the staff are described as comical, friendly, and attentive.
One of the best fish and chips places I’ve ever been to in all of Sydney beaches. The shop looks so humble and local that you may pass without notice. It’s also a fishmongers so all their produces are super fresh. We ordered a seafood box and nothing beats it truthfully. The best calamari rings I’ve ever tasted- lightly crunchy on the outside but soft and chewy with thick cuts of squid meat. So so delicious!! The fish cocktails are fresh too. There’s a few tables to sit outside on a quiet street. Highly recommend ⭐️

One of the best if not the best fish and chips we had. We got the seafood basket and some extra prawns and scallops. It was delicious! And their sauces were so good! The staff was really nice, friendly and accommodating. We sat outside, it was nice to have this option despite the fact it’s more a takeaway place. We spent just over $40 for 2 which is pretty good especially for the area. We’ll definitely be back!

Absolutely fantastic fish and chips! The food is fresh, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor. You can tell a lot of care goes into every meal. The portions are generous too. What really makes this place special is the owner. Friendly, welcoming, and clearly passionate about the food and the customers. You don’t just feel like you’re buying dinner. You feel genuinely looked after. Highly recommend this shop to anyone who loves good food and great service. Easily one of the best fish and chips experiences I’ve had! Thank you so much for everything 😀

This place is amazing - from service to the taste of the food, we were so impressed. We will 100% be back, after all, best fish and chips we’ve had in Sydney so far! 😍 (don’t mind the photos, I was too hungry to try to take some nice pics)

Best service, best quality, very sanitary and a wide knowledge of all seafoods and how to cook them, also in a prime location. Thought we’d pop past for some fish and chips and left with the best meal + a smile. We had battered whiting and crumbed barramundi with chips. As well as some calamari. All of it was phenomenal, garlic aioli really hit the spot too. Not to mention the stellar service from William. Can not recommend this place more. Worth every cent. Thanks for making our regular fish and chips meal special. We’ll be back and so will our family and friends 🐟💙

Freshwaters Harbord Hotel, formerly known as the Hilton, has recently undergone a major transformation with a new white-washed look and updated interiors. This long-standing venue offers a relaxed atmosphere with a courtyard and fireplaces, where patrons can enjoy steaks, seafood, live music, and an extensive drink selection. The Balsa restaurant within the hotel provides excellent food at reasonable prices, with generous servings and attentive service. Visitors can also expect a wide range of beers and an impressive wine list.
An amazing and highly successful birthday party held at Bombies. Everyone loved the venue and food and the service was beyond my expectations! Will definitely do more functions there again. Excellent value for money as well. Highly recommend. Thank you Harbord Hotel.

Amazing food, but the service needs improvement. If I were rating this place on food alone, it would easily get 5 stars. The meals and drinks are always fantastic—I’ve been here several times and the quality has never disappointed. However, the service really lets the experience down. Some of the staff come across as disengaged and not particularly welcoming, which makes the atmosphere feel a bit off. On our most recent visit, we were told at 6pm that the table was needed again by 7pm. While I completely understand that tables are booked for specific time slots, being told this during our meal felt abrupt and uninviting this should either be mentioned at the start betore sitting down or closer to the time needed. It made the experience feel rushed, almost like a conveyor belt restaurant! For the price point, which isn’t necessarily cheap, the level of service just doesn’t match the quality of the food. Hats off to the chefs!
Daniel S — Google review
So disappointed. Long time customer of the Hilton but it had been a few years. Had high expectations. 4 of us ordered entrees and mains. Entrees came, 3 of the mains came. After 10 minutes we asked about the missing main, it's an open kitchen so we could see the conversation, the kitchen missed it on the docket. We were told it would be 4 minutes. 10 minutes later we asked again only to see they had missed it again. By this time the other 3 had finished their meals. I cancelled, got a refund and left disappointed at the shocking service and attention to detail.
Craig G — Google review
Really disappointed.. We came a few years ago to Balsa and got the set menu. It seemed as if then it was fine dining. Amazing food and great table service. We came tonight and were extremely disappointed. It felt like a pub. No longer the amazing table service and now poor quality food. The food was deep fried and really below average. We paid $170 which included 2x of the set menu’s and 2x wines. We would happily pay this for a high quality experience and high quality food but this was so below average. Deep fried in seed oils and tasteless. We will not be back.
Jackson S — Google review
As a coeliac, I’m always a bit nervous about eating out, but I was working in the area today and a mate mentioned that the Harbord Hotel has a lot of gluten free options. I decided to check out the menu, and while I’m usually worried about cross-contamination, I noticed that everything that could be deep-fried was actually marked as gluten-free. That gave me hope that they’ve really thought it through and that their fryer is completely gluten free. I’m happy to say I’ll definitely be going back the fish and chips were incredible!
Christian J — Google review
Please don’t open reservations for dinner when you have 95% of the restaurant booked with a wedding. Please don’t tell your patrons to go and order at the bar for a $42 steak because you can’t work out how to take their order.. Menu is amazing, fit out is amazing. But for the prices (even though it’s a “hotel”) people want to feel an experience. That was awful.

Seafood at the Beach is a popular fish and chips shop located at Dee Why Beach in Sydney. The restaurant offers quality seafood, with fresh and delicious options like the Mix Grill featuring grilled calamari, scallops, prawns, fish, baby octopus, and mussels. While the staff are friendly, there may be some room for improvement in order processing. The prices are reasonable for a beachside location. Customers can enjoy outdoor seating or take a short stroll to the nearby beach grass area.
We are locals and eat at seafood at the beach when we feel like fish and chips. The battered fish and chips are a good portion size, lovely quality batter, not too heavy and crispy. Grilled salmon is cooked beautifully and the Greek salad is fresh. The staff are focused on cooking good quality meals. The hand basin with soap and always paper towel is a great touch. The fitout is fit for purpose the place is normally heaving with customer so needs to be basic and hard wearing.

Update on my review yesterday: 1 child became sick overnight and the other in morning. My partner is also feeling sick today - I didn’t eat what they ate I tried a chip and couldn’t eat no more - all 3 ate the calamari, scallops, ect. The children are Vomiting and on the toilet a lot …. No one else in family or who they have been in contact with are sick. All were well prior to eating this food. You guys have mostly aways had good food - not sure why last nights was so off. Have to admit I had not been here for over 6 months. Day of purchase: The person who served me had great service, however food was uneatable. Calamari tasted off absolutely off it left a fowl taste in month. Chips were hard as Rock. Potato inside chips was powdery. Crab stick was gooey - sorry the only way to explain it. I wouldn’t normally leave reviews and feel terrible for leaving such a bad review however my concern is that the standard of tonight’s food if it remains the same it will make someone sick, really sick. The oil has also not been changed for a very long time …… note: this is a real review I do t work in the hospitality industry, I have no grudge against any person associated with company. This was my experience tonight. You can’t touch feel through photos however I have posted anyway.

Grilled snapper and salad $28 including the 10% weekday surcharge. The young guy taking orders was not really interested. I assume the staff are paid 10% extra on weekends, even though penalty rated don’t apply any more? They did wipe down the outside benches once, which was good. I thought a bit expensive for something that wasn’t really special. The shop doesn’t do crumbed fish. It was ok.

Context: Easter Friday dinner. It wasn't that busy but told that they have ran out of Greek salad at 6pm with only garden salad left. Ordered 2x flatheads with chips and one with salad. Flattie came butchered and in about 20 pieces and salad was minimal. Not worth the $56 and probably won't go back.

If you're in Coogee and craving a fresh seafood experience, look no further than Fishbowl. This vibrant eatery offers a delightful selection of seafood paired with rice or noodles, along with an array of salads and sauces that allow you to customize your meal just the way you like it. It's conveniently located near Randwick, making it an easy stop for those staying in Sydney.
Walking along the shopping strip I am always curious which businesses are well frequented by the locals. So I had to have a good look what Fish Bowl offered at lunchtime today because so many people were queued up on the footpath waiting for their order. So I made a mental note to come back and tonight was the night. A warm summer’s evening when everyone was making the most of Coogee Beach, we decided to get takeaways from Fish Bowl and join the throng of people on the beach to watch the sunset. Deliciously healthy, I ordered my customised bowl and it was yum right down to the last mouthful. We’ll be back to try other combinations. Thanks for making a lovely memory at Coogee Beach.

PSA: do NOT get the ‘shitake’ bowl. It was so, so bad. No evidence of mushroom in texture or flavor, just a strange dried up brown log of presumably TVP? Gave 3 stars because things in the past have been better so going for an average.

Service was quick as my online order was ready in less than 10 minutes. I added avo to my bowl and when I opened the bowl it looked good. However, the avo was 100% off. It looked okay but it had an extremely sour and off taste to it. I chucked it because it was so off-putting. :/ Since I had it for take away, I was unable to get this rectified in store.

Fish Shop is a casual dining and takeaway spot, part of the Fish Bowl group. It offers fresh seafood in a relaxed setting. You can enjoy a refined dining experience with options like oysters or grab takeaway and savor items like the fish burger with crumbed barramundi, slaw, tartare, anchovies, and fermented chili. The venue has a great atmosphere and chill vibes.
The fish and cabbage exceeded my expectations—absolutely delicious! I also enjoyed the Das Juice wine—light, easy to drink, and a healthy choice. The only suggestion we’d make is about the spaghetti. The sauce was fantastic, but we both found the pasta a bit undercooked (though this could be personal preference). With just a slight adjustment, it would be a perfect dish though.

Loved getting lunch at Fish Shop. The pasta of the day was spaghetti prawns with cherry tomatoes. It was absolutely delicious! As was the fish burger and the fish and chips ordered by my dining partners. The fries with truffle aioli were well prepared. Delicious food and good portion sizes. Staff were kind and the food came quick. Great atmosphere with nice chill music and great decor. The bathroom was clean and filled with a great citrus infuser. Highly recommend Fish Shop to anyone in the Bondi area. A great feed just a short walk from the beach. I'll be coming back!

Lately, ive found the fish routinely overcooked. If mickey d's served a great hamburger, I'd give it 5*, even though it ain't my kinda place. Sorry for bringing them golden arches to your precious consciousnes when you're not even a little bit wasted (yet). So, fishop isn't really my kinda place. There's 2 crowds here tonight. The young lookers (outward) and the oldies who love the prices and want to impress their next dinner party with their wokeness (a term I find as tolerable as a Mexican finds zambrero). But the food is largely very good, and the staff really just want you to be impressed and write a 5* review (though probs without the Mickey d opening). There's too much sugar in the kingfish cerviche, but the blue mackerel special is a cracker, despite the stale bread. Sad, coz the smokey char on the bread works. The balance of veg to freekah ain't great, but the green salad is very good. The sebagos are too sweet for the role as fried, crispy roast spud, and ketchup is just best left to Mr Heinz (Try the organic, it's a boomer (like me, but in a better way)). But the snapper is good value and perfectly cooked, and the tartare, and salsa verde as they should be, even if they were much higher priced. So, overall, this place serves good to excellent gear at pretty lean prices. The fitout is as confused as a rabbi in Auburn, but its fine for the purpose.
Kitchen I — Google review
I’ve been wanting to try Fish Shop for several months now and got the opportunity to come here today. The snapper was soft and tender, the caponata sauce paired nicely with it too. However, I ordered a vegetable dish that never arrived. I waited for over an hour only for the host to tell me that the kitchen never received my order when I asked. During the hour, not a single waiter/waitress checked on me and there were literally more staff than patrons at that point (only 5 customers if I remembered correctly). It seems like they were busy chatting amongst themselves and some were even on their phones. After knowing that the kitchen never received the order, I asked for the item to be removed, they did so and immediately printed the rest of the bill for me to pay, no remediation nor compensation was offered and it seemed like they couldn’t care less. I wanted to try the dessert but didn’t even have the chance to order it since they printed the bill so fast… I’d love to try more items on the menu but their service has been disappointing.

Had an enjoyable dinner at the Fish Shop. Menu resembles the name of the restaurant and majority of the dishes is seafood with a few vegetarian offerings. Stand out for us on the night was the Dry Aged Murray Cod and the Scampi Pasta but all the dishes we ordered was very fresh and delicious. Would definitely recommend it if anyone's taste buds fancies seafood!

Dinned here on a school night. I suggest booking a table as it gets pretty busy. My favourite dish was the anchovies with butter on bread, closely followed was the prawn toast. The sauce was amazing and I recommend getting some bread to soak it up. The ocean trout was cooked very nice however the sauce was very underwhelming and was bland. The scallops were presented great and the greens were a bit naughty as there was some cream hidden under it. The kingfish with pinapple was another bland dish and a let down. Over all the service was below average however the serving staff were very young and not experienced.

Great venue, chill vibes and awesome food. Tried the Sicilian crudo, king salmon, yellowfin tuna, kingfish was fresh and zesty, perfectly seasoned. Followed by fish fingers made with freshly cooked barramundi and a to die for tartare. For main had the fish burger, crumbed barramundi, slaw, tartare. Overall food was fantastic and atmosphere chill for a Sunday lunch. Sat at the bar watching food being prepped, service was friendly. Will come again!

(3.5 stars) Set under contemporary concrete curves of a medium density residential development on an intersection in the back streets of Bondi, Fish Shop is all about delivering market-fresh seafood in a smart-casual format. Our visit got off to a bad start. We had booked for an inside table (their system lets you choose between bar stools, indoor and outdoor tables) but staff didn’t keep us one, so we were relegated outside in the rain. At the table next to us, a middle-aged white dude was drunk and holding court about his adventures on the dating scene: “You’ve just got to realise this: women are crazy.” The wet martini ($18) I ordered to cope with feminism not having reached the Eastern Suburbs was in a tiny glass with so much precious real estate taken up with ice it was a two-gulp throw down, and the following Architects of Wine ‘pinot grigio’ ($16) was so orange in colour it probably would have been better listed as a rosé (or at least accompanied by a warning that it was non-characteristic from floor staff). Even the Moda sparkling water was delivered flat, though this was acknowledged by staff (which did make me wonder why they didn’t just change the cylinder instead)? So by the time we got to Appellation Sydney rock oysters ($30/6) from Merimbula, which were not quite shucked to order, I wasn’t feeling particularly charitable. Things perked up with a tiny tostada ($9/each) of coral trout accompanied by lime and wasabi root mayonnaise. Calamari ($24) in a lake of fermented chilli, parsley and garlic oil was enjoyable to eat, and a clever reimagining of the usual battered and fried version. Crumbed King George whiting ($38) produced three crunchy golden brown fillets with a punchy, caper-spiked tartare and a neutral ‘slaw. Mooloolaba swordfish ($26) ordered rare came overcooked with rocket, lemon and extra virgin olive oil. Feedback about this was met with acknowledgement that it had been ordered rare and a comment that it was hard to deliver it that way. The best thing I put in my mouth was a side of charred cabbage ($14) dressed with white soy, puffed black rice and nori. This exemplar was a definite level-up on the almost ubiquitous charred cabbage side, and it totally eclipsed the fish. Maybe they were having an off-day…
