Restaurant
Alma Negra, located on Barrera Street in A Coruna, is a perfect spot for enjoying tapas and spending evenings on weekends. The restaurant's interior design is both modern and original. One must try their delicious croquettes made with spider crab, which are truly marvelous. And for those with a sweet tooth, do not leave without tasting their dessert: a creamy white chocolate topped with chocolate popping candy.
Excellent food and nice decor. Service was cheerful and attentive.
Neil N — Google review
Nice ambience and location wise is great. As for the food, it's not bad as I have had more delicious ones elsewhere.
CYY — Google review
Although the restaurant is very appealing to the eye, the food was, in our experience, terrible. We were recommended a special by our waiter which was a grilled steak with chips. Someone else had ordered the same and when we saw it, we definitely wanted it. People say you should never meet your heroes, and this was a time I wish we hadn't ordered with "our eyes!" The meat was tough and as the Spanish say "sosos." It was bland, fatty and not appetising at all. Our waiter asked us if we enjoyed it to which we replied no. His offer of changing it was futile as he walked off before we could take him up on his offer. The food wasn't the only problem. We sat outside and the stools we sat on had a triangular bottom. This meant that when putting your feet on the foot rest at the bottom of the stool, they we're both pointing outwards at an angle of 45°. Not the most comfortable position to sit in! Overall, not the best experience we've had when dining out! (Written by an Englishman living in Spain and his Spanish girlfriend)
Adam S — Google review
A "tapas bar" typically Spanish. The food is good (although the octopus - one of the specialities of this area - was a bit on the "tough" side) and they are quick to serve. They have a good (for a tapas bar) selection of wines - both red and white - not not so much in beers. Normal prices... a group dinner with maybe 12 to 14 persons where we ordered about 15 rations to share plus drinks... was about 17 euros per person. Interesting and cosy decoration and environment.
Paulo M — Google review
Nice and cosy setting, good quality foods, limited but manageable wine list: a nice recommandation in A Coruna, which seems to be too much ignored. Get there: you’ll be positively surprised …
Olivier C — Google review
Cancelled a reservation a few hours before New Year’s Eve. Do not trust that your reservation will work. Very unprofessional and unacceptable.

Yummy food, great variety, trad galician food as well as more spainish and european food. They have their own botega which is cool too Good service, modern feel, great for younger groups and couples

Big nope. I ordered the fajitas and all the ingredients tasted and smelled artificial. Even the guacamole came from a jar. Awful food with good service

El Valentín - Restaurante en A Coruña is a delightful spot that caters to a diverse range of diners, from health enthusiasts to those simply craving delicious meals. The café boasts an inviting atmosphere with high ceilings and exposed brick walls, making it the perfect backdrop for enjoying their homemade bagels filled with chicken, pork, or vegan pesto. Their menu also features fresh salads, vibrant poke bowls, and flavorful woks.
A very nice place for breakfast or if you just want a cup of coffee. Very reasonable prices and friendly staff.
Teresa C — Google review
Our group (of 9 people) had a truly terrible dining experience. Three of us ordered the Missy bagel/burger, and it was nothing short of disgusting. The taste was so bad I could barely swallow half of it. A colleague, curious to see if it was as awful as we described, tried a bite only to spit it out immediately – it was completely inedible. The rest of the meals were just as disappointing. Must of us left the plates barely touched because the food was simply dreadful. The flavours were bland at best and outright offensive at worst. None of us could believe how bad it was, and frankly, it was one of the worst meals we’ve ever had. We definitely won’t be coming back, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone looking for a decent meal.
David S — Google review
Tourists be very careful, they charged us as a group (3 couples) far too much for our drinks, I would highly recommend you pay as you go. That way no "mistakes" are made. We did not eat,
Dana S — Google review
One of the best places we've tried in the city. Great food, good atmosphere, nice service. Dog friendly. Good vegetarian and vegan options.
A. O — Google review
I really wanted to like this place. By the reviews it seemed to offer something different than the typical platter of brown stuff which tends to be Spanish restaurant food. The interior is charming and cozy, and they allow dogs which is great. However, the staff was quite brusque, and what’s worse, the food is not good. The menu itself is confusing - why does the “Thai” burger have cesar salad sauce? Why does the salmon gravlax bagel have lettuce and jalapeño sauce? Why are there two types of tartars? It doesn’t make sense to me. I had trouble deciding but went with the egg dish. It came out without bread initially, so it seemed to be a kind of gloopy gravy soup, but not. Very odd. We had to ask for bread but that didn’t help much. The chef-owner was chatting with a nearby table and asked me how I liked the food, I guess because I’d barely touched mine. I explained my issues (politely, I hope), but the meal was not comped as it should have been if she actually cared. My husband’s “baos” did not resemble baos in taste or appearance. I see this in Spanish “modern” restaurants - they have these quasi international, trendy items and ingredients but the execution is off. I was hoping for more veggie options, but there weren’t many. Nice place though and the deserts looked good.
Lauren — Google review
The meal I ordered was €9,50 on the menu and they then charged me €13,70 on the bill because I “sat on the terrace”. I am used to paying €1-2 extra to sit on the terrace, but am always provided with the bill that has the terrace price so I know the cost when I choose this. In addition to this €4,20 is an obscene overcharge. The food tasted fine, but 100% not worth the money. Would not ever return. In addition to this, the terrace tables are right next to a bin and there was vomit on the ground 2m from my table.

Beautiful place and amazing food, great service!

Really delicious food although, the price was quite high considering how much was provided (very small amounts of avocado in the salad, when it was deemed to be a main ingredient). Great cocktails. Good vegetarian/vegan options.

Galician restaurant
Spanish restaurant
El De Alberto is a popular restaurant in the heart of A Coruna, known for its marriage of traditional Galician flavors with modern presentation. The passionate chef-owner, Alberto, creatively combines local ingredients with unexpected elements like kimchi sauce on octopus and truffle butter on scallops. The bright dining room strikes a balance between casual and upscale, featuring white tablecloths and colorful velvet chairs.
We had the best experience at El De Alberto. From being greeted at the door by the owners and the entire friendly team to the care taken to recommend dishes, to the amazing quality, taste and portions of their tasting menu. Everything was 10/10. We loved everything about the dinner we had there and would love to come back!
Maria S — Google review
We visited this restaurant today, drawn by the many excellent reviews and eager to try some good Galician cuisine here in “A Coruña” And I have to say, the food was truly delicious: dishes with intense, authentic flavors, prepared with care and high-quality ingredients. We would gladly give the food 5 stars without hesitation. Unfortunately, however, the service did not meet our expectations. The waiter who served us spoke extremely fast, almost as if he were reading from a script, without offering any recommendations or personalized suggestions. And even though I mentioned that we would have appreciated his input, he kept talking mechanically, just listing the names of the dishes. The most disappointing moment came when I tried to ask about the desserts, but I was briefly distracted with my daughter. Still, he went on reciting the list without pausing or adjusting to the situación and then simply walked away. At that point, we decided not to have dessert there and went elsewhere instead. That said, we want to highlight that the waiter who brought us our drinks was very kind and professional, as was the owner, who was very courteous and open to feedback. In short: excellent food, but the overall experience was affected by impersonal and inattentive service.
MEL — Google review
The food is great, service is fast, place is cosy and Alberto comes to your table to check on you from time to time and he is a funny guy. Love our experience! What a great value too for a nice tasting menu. Drinks are also not expensive, well priced.
Charine F — Google review
This is certainly a gem among all the gastronomic offers in La Coruña. They use high-quality products. We love everything that we had. I highly recommend the sea bass with pil pil of piquillo pepper and the short ribs.
Esther N — Google review
A high end restaurant that feels like family. Everything was delicious and the owner knew everyone or at least made everyone feel welcome. A very special place with the best green bean dish I have had in my life. It has been several weeks since I ate here and I still think about the green bean dish. The beet risotto was muy rico.
Veronnica — Google review
We were welcomed by Alberto who introduced us to the tasting menu we were going to have. He offered to make changes if there was something in the menu we were not interested. His team of waiters are very attentive and explained each dish when bringing it to the table. The somelier came to offer us wine to pair it with the food. Overall great experience and all dishes were very tasty, well cooked and flavoursome. Definitely a place to come back.
Elvira P — Google review
Great place to enjoy a revamped traditional cuisine full of flavor. This place is exactly like this, traditional dishes with a modern touch, and enhanced flavors. For instance, we had ravioli, rib, braised ox tail and scallops. Pros: the mix of flavors is strong, they evolve in mouth and the feeling is super positive. Cons: sometimes some really good products are masked in their original textures and flavors. Anyway, a good value for money option in A Coruña 4.6 stars on my opinion
R E — Google review
I went solo back in Fall 2021 just at opening time (they even let me in a few minutes before) and let me tell you this was the best meal I had in all of Spain. I would go back to Coruña just to eat here again. Almost missed my flight back and if I did, I would not have regretted it. As someone who grew up eating the freshest seafood you can ever imagine (family of fishing enthusiasts living in an island), and having been to some Michelin star restaurants, the only other time I had a fish comparable to the one here was the ones that my dad grilled at the beach right after coming out of the water. How about making a gourmet dinner with that kind of fish? The sauce around it, the wine, the torrijas as dessert… price was unbeatable for the quality of the food and the treatment. I want to manifest that I’ll be back someday.

Fantastic find! The menu del dia is an absolute bargain with extremely delicious food. The waiter was lovely, very helpful and patient while he put up with our attempts at speaking Spanish! Buzzy, busy atmosphere with lots of locals in a nice brickwalled interior. I highly recommend.

This locale has the best chef in the entire world, I have eaten here twice and I will always miss it. The food itself and the ingredients are of the highest quality and is prepared perfectly. The staff is absolutely wonderful and always serve you with excitement. The locale and atmosphere is extremely authentic with many decorations to please the eyes while you eat. The prices are also very affordable and appropriate for the dishes. In conclusion, this restaurant is perfect and nothing needs to change, I would go here everyday if I could!!

We walked into this lovely restaurant on a whim and immediately fell in love with the atmosphere. We where welcomed by Gonçalo who enthusiastically told us about the food they serviced. His enthusiasm convinced us to let him surprise us with a selection of food and they completely exceeded our expectations. Lovely food, great service and we’ll definitely return when back in A Coruña
Michiel W — Google review
This was my first time to this restaurant. I love Asian food in general, so it was cool to see this new place here in Coruna. The place has an eclectic menu, Japanese, Chinese, Thai and Vietnamese. I've eaten my fair share of ramen, and the ramen here is ok. The broth is a little bit fatty. I was a big fan of the Nasi Goreng, that was so yummy. I'd also recommend trying the different beers. I like Asahi (Japanese beer) and it was pretty cool to see it here. The brochetas teriyaki was kind of boring. The atmosphere is awesome, but get there a little bit early 2130 just to make sure you get a table since it's a small place. If you're craving Asian food (that's not basic Chinese food) give this place a shot.

Art & Sushi is a restaurant specializing in Japanese cuisine that is based in Coruña, Spain. They offer nigiris, sashimis, futomakis and other preparations, but also focus on making them with exquisite flavors like red tuna (toro ventresca), liver pate, quail eggs with truffle or salmon with foie gras. Additionally, they offer Asian dishes like burgers, tatakis of tuna and salmon or donburis.
Wow! Creative but still remains totally delicious. The scallop and the egg nigiri and the Art&Sushi special with strawberry were all incredible. We got a mixed sushi platter for 2 and some extras and it was all fantastic! (oh the confit duck was also delicious!) 100% recommended and much cheaper than in the UK.

Came here on a day trip to a coruña for lunch. Me and the GF had the 3 course lunch special. I got the wakame salad, tuna tartar, 10 piece sushi and cheesecake. Ait was all very delicious. My only critique would be that the sushi chefs used too much rice for the uramaki rolls, making them a bit thick.

Restaurant
Herculina, a restaurant that specializes in meats and seafood, originally opened in late 2016. However, after reopening post-lockdown, they have made changes to their menu by introducing pastas and pizzas while reducing their original selection. Despite these alterations, customers can still enjoy their famous aged beef steak. This spacious eatery with an industrial aesthetic features an open kitchen where diners can witness the skillful work of the chefs. The restaurant offers high-quality food and exceptional service.
Such a tasty lunch we had at Herculina! Absolutely amazing place, with perfect high-level food and presentation even for the lunch offer. Only for €14 - how is that possible? It was nice to meet waiters with good English, they were so kind and attentive. The design is stylish and modern. I only regret having one meal at this place. I hope to return to A Coruña in August and will definitely visit this place again.

This place has the BEST beer in the world. I'm not joking, neither I'm naive. I have tasted beers all around the world: belgium, germany, italy, france, czhec republic, russia, finland, USA, all south and central america, japan, china, thailand, australia, spain, etc. You have to order here the tap beer (NOT the bottled one!). The tap beer here it's a special version of Estrella Galicia named "Estrella De Bodega" which translated means "Estrella from Cellar". That is an special version of "Estrella de Galicia" beer that comes directly from the beer fabric in a special truck that its not pasteurized, which means that the yeast is still alive and its still fermenting and producing more alcohol from the sugar. This kind of beer is awesome only if the place that serves it does that very fast so the tanks from where it comes are really fresh. This is the place for that. Always fresh and very taste. Don't miss this place if you are in A Coruña. On top of that the beer here is cheap: between 2.5 to 3.5 euros for half-a-liter pint (depends on the day/hour of the week)

To be honest, this bar is super nice, the bartenders are awesome at their job! It has an amazing Spanish Omelette, and sometimes they do some events which are the actual party of the city. Plus is super LGBTQ+ friendly and is for all public, but mostly from 20-35s.

My favorite bar and cafe to hang out with friends in A Coruña. Good tapas, they always have tortilla in the morning. I wish everywhere in Spain served tortilla in the AM with coffee… I also liked that the internet is fast for getting work done away from home or the office. I don’t have an office but I like setting up my computer here.

Great for drinks - didn't manage to eat as the kitchen wasn't open, which is fair due to the weekend hours but we were very hungry

Fabulous place great drinks and the staff is super friendly. The patio is share with other bars and they bring bands in the evenings. Come early to warranty a table.

La Consentida Food & Soul is a charming and beautifully decorated spot in A Coruna. It offers a mix of traditional and modern dishes that are absolutely delicious. The crispy prawns with ginger mayo and the vegetable curry with chicken and mango chutney are particularly delightful. The food, drinks, and service at this restaurant are amazing, all set in a fabulous location. The portions are generous, the tapas service is excellent, and the prices are reasonable.
Amazing food, drinks and service in a fabulous location! Highly recommended

This was on the 20th of June but had to be said. I had a Poke bowl and my wife had a wok with noodles. From experience I know that the poke’s main ingredient is fish, and that was precisely what I expected, only to find out that in the delivered poke bowl, which by the way wasn’t even a bowl but the same dish they serve the rest of the food in, the fish was nowhere to be seen but only a mere three boiled king prawns were put on top of a very sad salad with a scarce handful of rice. Being a bit baffled myself by the sight of a poke without fish, I did double check on the Internet to challenge my idea of what a poke was, and can confirm that yes it’s made with raw or marinated fish, which makes up for the most of the money you pay for it. Well, this one was 14€, which btw is 3€ up than a real and hefty poke bowl you’ll get further down in the same street. We did try to find out whether they had forgotten the fish. First attempt was when the waitress asked us if everything was ok, carelessly though, as before we could speak she was already a good couple yards away. The second time was when we paid, the waiter did ask with a South American accent. He looked truly interested in our complaint and told us he was going to convey our complaint to the kitchen staff. We are usuals at La Consentida; it’s been one of our favourites in Coruña and the go to place as it’s near home. However, we’ve recently had a couple of slips with them, the second one was being charged the price of a full tortilla and ensaladilla for just tapas, and are wondering whether this is a one off, just a sort of jet-lag from the lockdown we’ve recently been through or a real change in their business strategy. Whatever it may be, we will for now keep coming as we still like the place. We are yet to find out though whether their version of poke actually has no fish or it was just a mistake but are not keen to spend another 14€...

Good food. Good sized portions. Prawns are recommended!

All good. Except for the fact the menu options are slim

(Translated by Google) Modern place, in the center, well attended...... But with little light. Good for having the first drink, but for lunch or dinner it is a little dark. The menu is short, with several starters, salads or portions and some meat dishes. Only 3 desserts and ice cream. In any case, what is there is well prepared, especially the Prawns, the omelette, the meats or the hamburgers. Portion size according to price. To go if you are in the area, but not to move on purpose.

Peculiar is a restaurant in A Coruna that offers an exciting dining experience. With a menu that includes dishes like risotto and tuna tartare, the restaurant creates a lovely atmosphere for its guests. The staff is friendly and professional, providing impeccable service. The food is described as sensational, with delicious flavors and exceptional presentation. While it may be pricy, the use of Galician ingredients with a unique twist makes it worth the visit.
Impecable platting, lovely atmosphere! Staff very friendly and professional, my favourite dishes were the risotto and the tuna tartar, very delicious! The cheesecake is brilliant but very cheesy and the creme brûlée was spot on!

Walking down the streets of restaurants trying to find a place to eat and luckily we managed to get a table at this restaurant. As english speakers we did not understand the menu but our server translated it for us very well. The food was amazing. So good we went twice on our visit to A Coruña.

Delicious and then some more ! The great service was the icing on the cake 🙏🏻

I went for the daily recommendations “venison with pumpkin puree and dates”. The meat was tasty and well cooked but the combination of flavours disappointed me, also the food was a bit cold for a 5star restaurant. Received a quality service from the waitresses and the atmosphere is nice.

I never write reviews but this place deserves it. Fantastic service and the flavours of the food were sensational. The cheesecake was incredible and nothing like I’ve ever had before!
