Bagel shop
Bakery
Maruichi Bagel is a bagel specialty shop in Tokyo, inspired by the famous New York bakery 'Ess-a-Bagel.' The female owner fell in love with New York-style bagels and opened this simple setting shop. The bagels are made by letting the dough proof, boiling it, and then finishing it in the oven to achieve a crispy exterior and soft, chewy interior.
Bagels are freshly baked and there are constant customers coming in and going out. One bagel is fairly huge and chewy. Cream cheese filling is generous. There are plenty of options to consider including whole wheat and rice bagels. Limited seating and accept card. Quite a walk from Shimbashi Station.
Lily R — Google review
I stumbled upon this bagel shop after strolling around the area. Staff was very welcoming. At noon there were few customers, no line. I ordered freshly baked cinnamon and raisin bagel with raisin walnut soy cream cheese and jamon Serrano ham. They accept cash and cards. I waited for my order around 5 minutes. The place is quite small, only 5 seats available indoor. And few more seats outdoor. The bagel was huge and I almost couldn’t finish them. Everything perfectly goes together. The bagel was crisp and chewy (but not for long if you don’t finish them quick enough. I would recommend to stop by this place.

Welcoming staff and delicious bagels! Thankful it opens early compared to most food spots. I had the garlic bagel with salmon and enjoyed every bite.
Sidra C — Google review
ı am in search for a NY style 🥯 and found this shop that offers their own unique twist — literally. They’re hand-twisted into beautiful shapes, giving them a distinctive look and texture. One of the highlights for me was the germinated brown rice bagel. It’s not something you come across often, and it was surprisingly tasty — definitely more flavorful than the whole wheat option. I also tried a small plain bagel to get a sense of the base flavor, and it held up really well. I also picked up a sesame bagel— I enjoyed it with watermelon and cheese, one of my favorite summer combos, especially with sesame bagels. Their sesame bagel was gooood 🤩. The sandwiches you see in the photos are actually my own variaton, but the bagels themselves are from here — and they turned out great. If you’re open to trying a creative, local twist on the traditional bagel, this place is worth checking out!
Elif B — Google review
Such a cute bagel place hidden away! The bagels were super soft and flavoursome, and the workers were super warm and friendly. I got the everything bagel with saba salad, and a blueberry bagel with cream cheese. Both 10/10. I love that the everything bagel has chunks of rock salt baked into it 🥯
Uyen — Google review
Love their bagels 🥯 BiG and warm 🤤 Came here at 11:30 and 3 out 4 bagels were still warm 😙 Surprised how BIG they are Only wish they had strawberry cream cheese !! Came here before around 1-2pm and they sold out so be careful
James F — Google review
I’ve been a huge fan of MARUICHI BAGEL ever since they opened in Yoyogi Uehara. Their bagels always remind me of authentic NYC style bagels and the way they make their sandwiches. I’m always impressed by the quality! The staff are friendly and polite, though it might take a little time to choose your bagel they have so many great options. Highly recommended!

Tasty and beautiful handmade bagels (you can find vegan and vegetarian solutions too). Staff is super kind and friendly. Absolutely recommended!

Bakery
Kandagawa Bakery is a hidden gem located in a quiet residential neighborhood near Waseda. Despite its unassuming appearance, this bakery attracts locals and visitors alike with its freshly baked goods, including sweet and savory breads featuring ingredients like raisins, matcha, red bean paste, and cheese. The bakery's seasonal sourdough loaves and rustic breads are particularly popular, known for their dark crust and earthy taste.
It seems to be a very popular bakery so I had to check it out. We got an anko salty bread and soy milk campagne bread. The first one was good but the soy milk bread took me by surprise. Such a nice chewy texture and an amazing taste. I ABSOLUTELY LOVED it! I was also surprised that it was relatively not that expensive.

A very nice storefront on a quiet street was a perfect place for mid-afternoon snack. Friendly staff made great recommendations. Most importantly, the bread was fantastic!
Peter M — Google review
Okay, this place is the real deal. Went there about 3 pm on a Sunday in June. It is a window ordering place with maybe two small tables and chairs if you want to eat there. The prices are on the higher end. Around 350 yen for each baked good. I guess the price does not deter the loyal customers. While this may not rise to the level of ambrosia, it is definitely top-tier. It is near a university and may also attract college students. Anyhow, worth a visit as you can't go wrong.
David Y — Google review
Truly delicious bites! Discovered this place when walking along the Kanda River and searching for a snack. Bacon roll, bacon epi bread, and cream cheese raisin mini pain de campagne. All were excellent, I wished I'd bought more for tomorrow's breakfast. For good, fresh, handmade breads the price is really good as well, about 250 yen per piece. Good luck finding that around Shibuya or Shinjuku.

Delicious sweet and savory Japanese bread pastries. A lot of different options and all were yummy!

Nice hidden bakery in the quiet neighborhood of takadanobaba, breads and buns are more English / German inspired, making this bakery a bit more original

Bills Omotesando, a part of the renowned Bill Granger's breakfast empire, is a must-visit in Tokyo for its delectable ricotta hotcakes and diverse menu. The cafe offers a fantastic ambiance, especially on the veranda with tranquil views of the Omohara Forest roof garden. It's an ideal spot for a relaxed brunch date or to enjoy classic Aussie-style breakfast.
We came in for breakfast at Bills Tokyo, and from the moment we walked in, it felt special. The coffee, a flat white, was the one of the best I’ve ever had in my life. The food was just as impressive, fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Every bite felt thoughtfully made. What really made the experience unforgettable was the service. The team was warm, genuine, and attentive in a way that made us feel truly welcomed. Honestly, it was 100% the best service I’ve had in Tokyo. If you want incredible coffee, amazing food, and service that leaves you smiling, Bills Tokyo is the place.
Paul C — Google review
The service was impeccable: courteous, attentive, prompt. The food was delightfully delicious: flavoursome, great textures, fresh. We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience here.
Silva S — Google review
Seeing the other reviews, I wish I would've gone for breakfast! I went for dinner and got the fish curry, it was pretty good. The sweet potatoes were really nice. The best part was the espresso martini!! One of the best I've had. The espresso they used was flavorful, and it was definitely a well rationed drink. Getting a seat was a little awkward, but other than that the food was decent.
Ximena R — Google review
In short: would recommend trying at least once, especially if you don't mind spending on food. The food was excellent. Nothing to complain about. But at the same time, not quite mind blowing enough for this price. The price is on the higher side. The staff was really nice. The restaurant's interior design is nice. There are a lot of good/interesting books on the shelves. However, the vibe wasn't the best. Maybe it was the kind of crowd the location would bring, I am not sure but something felt uneasy.
Henry L — Google review
Came here for breakfast. All the food was great, and non stress service. Since we had a reservation, we were able to get in right away, but there was quite a long line. Many foreigner then Japanese customers.
Chika — Google review
I visited Bills Omotesando for brunch and overall had a very memorable experience. 📍 Location & Ambience Bills is located on the 7th floor of Tokyu Plaza Omotesando Harajuku, which offers a nice view over Omotesando / Harajuku. The interior is airy and modern, with large windows, clean lines, and a casual yet stylish feel — the bookshelves along one wall add a cozy, homey touch. The terrace overlooks the rooftop garden below (Omohara no Mori), which is a pleasant bonus. 🕒 Wait & Service This place is very popular, especially for breakfast/brunch. Expect to queue, particularly in the morning. I waited about 15–20 minutes to be seated (off-peak), which is reasonable. Service was friendly and polite, though there were a few moments of delay between ordering and food arrival. 🍽 Food & Drink The menu has a broad selection of brunch-style, Western-inspired dishes. Some highlights: Ricotta Hotcakes (pancakes): This is their signature dish and for good reason — light, fluffy, with a golden crust. Full Aussie Breakfast: generous portions with eggs, bacon, sausage, mushrooms, roasted tomato, toast, etc. Other menu items: The non-pancake offerings are solid — for example, their chopped salad, avocado toast, wagyu burger, prawn linguine, and pavlova. Beverages: Coffee was good; juices are fresh. One caveat: the timing can feel a bit off (in some reviews the pancakes arrived notably later than other items) , so order accordingly if you're in a rush. 💵 Value Prices are on the higher side — typical for a premium brunch spot in Tokyo. But given the quality, atmosphere, and signature dishes, it feels justifiable. ✅ Pros Beautiful, modern interior with large windows and terrace view Signature ricotta pancakes are soft, fluffy, and full of flavor Excellent presentation — every dish looks amazing on camera Friendly staff and English menu available Great coffee and drink selection Perfect spot for brunch photos or videos ❌ Cons Long wait during peak hours (especially weekends) Prices are a bit on the higher side Service can be slightly slow when busy Terrace seating not always available 💡 Tips for Future Visitors Arrive early (just after opening) to beat longer queues. If possible, request a window seat or terrace table for the view. Be patient with timing — food may not come all at once. Try something other than pancakes too — the non-pancake menu is worth exploring. Use this for a leisurely brunch rather than a quick meal.
Jean G — Google review
Overrated tourist trap for Instagram aesthetics. The pancakes take 20 minutes (well, mine took 30 because the waitress dropped them) and they were so bland they needed the giant medallion of butter and syrup to get any semblance of flavor. The coconut bread was dense and dry, and side of bacon so tough my jaw started to hurt from chewing. The drinks were tasty, although you could probably get the same quality for half the price elsewhere. Pass on this one.
Tanya P — Google review
Looked nice, but actually taste just meh. Over priced and overrated. 2400 yen just for the pancake is crazy price. The pancake took forever to served. Idk what’s the hype, maybe bcs of Jay Chou? But the window view is kinda nice no doubt!

Nestled in Daikanyama, Ivy Place is a designer cafe offering a delightful array of dishes such as buttermilk pancakes, pizza, and brunch cocktails. The serene ambiance sets it apart from the bustling city with its spacious indoors adorned with antique furniture and a warm decor, as well as an expansive outdoor terrace surrounded by Japanese zelkova trees. The menu features seasonal breakfast options including homemade granola, fruit bowls, and bamboo charcoal omelettes.
Cozy restaurant in Daikanyama! Came here for lunch with a group of 4 and a dog without reservation and we queued for 30 minutes for an outdoor seat. Food was amazing, highly recommend the fried calamari and their well known pancakes. Service was top notch and drinks were fantastic as well. Would highly recommend!

This place has great food and a fantastic atmosphere. The pork loin and swordfish were delicious. The soup of the day was a tomato cream with a nice zest. I also ordered a breakfast power shake to get my energy up since I hadn’t had breakfast yet. It’s a great place for a date. We didn’t have a reservation, took us less than 10 minutes for a table but was sat in the outdoor area with the see-through tent tarp.

The food is the absolute bomb! 5000yen for the deluxe lunch let, Salad, Pasta, Main and Desert with a coffee too! Each dish was excellent with, salad had loads of goodie, the pasta was great and the fish was amazingly done! By desert time I was stuffed! Be warned don’t fill up on the complementary bread and olive oil served at the beginning or You’ll be too full!
Eddie B — Google review
Great value for the set meal! Came in absolutely starving and left satisfied by an assortment of wonderful appetisers, mains and desserts. There was a ~20 minute wait to be seated but the food itself came out fairly quickly. Nice indoor and outdoor seating available and so many cute dogs around! Overall a good experience.

This is a great restaurant, especially if you’re looking for contemporary American cuisine. It’s a bit on the expensive side for Tokyo; however, highly recommended for vegetarians/vegans. They’ll do their best to accommodate dietary restrictions and food allergies. Service was top-notch.
Sonam A — Google review
I’ve been living in Japan for 8 years, and this is truly one of the best services I’ve experienced! Especially the staff member with yellow hair, he’s fantastic. Highly recommend trying their steak, perfectly smoky and cooked just right!
Roro R — Google review
This was in my list for quite some time. Place gets 5 star but only for ambience and location. Weekly lunch with tea/coffee and small bread is still better to go for than long unnecessary hype on weekend. The big plates are called big but as you see in pictures rather extremely moderate! Chicken and fish dishes for 2300-2500yen is rather too high for taste, quality and specially portion size! Ideally given everything they should have been priced around 1500-1600 yen hence you pay for sitting ambience than food quality! Very average if you are food lover.
Chandrika — Google review
Food was good especially as they tried to help my son with gluten free options. Thank you 🙏 the burger was good. I have chicken breast coated with bread crumbs which came with mashed potato and some green rocket and a few raw tomatoes. Only criticism is I would prefer steamed vegetables or grilled vegetables like carrots peppers etc. or grilled tomatoes rather then raw because raw tomatoes does not go with hot foods. This is the only criticism for the restaurant manager to improve for the future 👍

Breakfast restaurant
Le Pain Quotidien is a rustic-chic bakery and cafe chain that offers classic light fare and organic breads. Founded in Belgium in 1990, the brand has expanded to over 200 locations worldwide, including three in Tokyo. The founder's commitment to high-quality, ordinary bread made from organic stone-ground flour is evident in their menu, which includes hard-to-find bread types such as Walnut or Rye Sourdough.
The brunch plate was well balanced and was delicious. The staff were friendly and were seated right away. I’d say the only complaint was being seated really close to another table despite having other openings; I felt like we were eating with the couple next to us.
Megan B — Google review
They have to learn what a Croque Monsieur is when they put it on the menu with no pictures. To charge 2000¥ for this is a joke. The service is getting worse. The sizes smaller. I would not advise it anymore as it is overpriced and kins of a joke a food.
Thierry G — Google review
Hugely Disappointed! Le Pain serving stale, day old croissants - at full price. Never before @ Le Pain worldwide experience this. This is Tokyo … where fresh, expected! Very friendly service but shocked by a tasteless, stale croissant. Unacceptable . Please, be honest with customer: Day Old _ 1/2 Price” Or don’t sell.
Stephen G — Google review
The best bread in Tokyo. They also have very authentic pain au chocolat. I had a tartine with chicken, mushrooms and Gruyere. The hot chocolate was also good, thick and dark, but the quantity was deplorable - it comes with a cup of milk into which you re supposed to pour the chocolate, but there is at least 6 times as much milk then the chocolate.
Andrea L — Google review
Amazing restaurant. The atmosphere feels like a home in the countryside of France. The food is healthy and great portions for the price. It is a bit pricey but honestly it's well worth it. Surprisingly the best bread I've had and it's in Japan haha. :)

Echiré Maison du Beurre Marunouchi is a renowned bakery that specializes in creating pastries and mini gateaux using Echiré butter, sourced from a French village. The brand's popularity and reputation as one of the most established butter producers are well-known. Their offerings include delectable butter croissants, mille feuille, and ice creams, all featuring a unique caramel-like flavor without overpowering the palate with milky notes.
Must visit dessert bakery in Tokyo. The queue was quite long this time (around 11am, Saturday), we waited for 35 mins to enter the shop, cookies boxes were sold out when we arrived.

Delicious pastries; you must love butter to truly appreciate. There is a wonderful little fountain plaza to enjoy the pastries in and take well lit photos (see pictured).

This place sells pastries made using French butter. Not too sweet, the pastries are great tasting if you are a butter fan. This place sells freshly baked stuff, and may not have some items which are sold in other branches across Japan.

Reached after 3pm so most of the items are gone but luckily the financier and madeleine was still available. Great buttery smell and light crispy sort of texture. Fresh ingredients so a short 3 days shelf life. The whole shop smells amazing the moment you pushed open the door. The huge medeleine looks interesting

Juan Y — Google review
Update (as of Sept 2024): Returned to this outlet as I was in the area in the afternoon and I have to say the service improved tremendously since there was no queue. I bought two financiers, one croissant and one madeline and all were scrumptious. I will come back to buy more items. Previous review: Came by to get some croissants around 11:15am and luckily, they weren’t sold out yet. There is a queue to pay and the customer service person didn’t inform me when she handed me the number…I went to the counter to pay but a rude local man stood next to me in a brisque manner, cut me off and handed over his number and card. It turned out I was the rude one for cutting the line when it was actually his turn to pay. Please inform your foreign customers your store policy so we don’t end up looking like uncouth fools. On another note: the financiers were buttery and tasty. Note: My review was originally posted in Sept 2023.
Hana — Google review
Though I like everything butter, their baked goods that I’ve tried (madeleines, financiers, big square cookies, pastries, slice of pound cake)seem to have only one note: butter. The experience of eating them become a little boring. Maybe I shouldn’t buy so many! : )) There were no lines when I got there in the late afternoon. BTW Google Maps took me around and around blocks before I could find the place. I think it’s because of the high-rise buildings inhibiting the signals. I didn’t double check my orders and found out later that the clerk there had added in the bag a tin box of the big cookies I didn’t order. I’ll return to buy a slice of their chocolate pastries, though. ; )

Brasserie Viron Shibuya is a classic French brasserie and bakery located in a cozy space with a bar. It's renowned for its use of Retrodor flour from Minoteries Viron in France, which is highly regarded for its quality and is exclusively used by Viron in Japan. The bakery offers an extensive selection of baguettes, sandwiches, pastries, cakes, and crepes that have been praised for their authentic French taste.
So happy to find this gem….. a place for bread addict…. It’s one of the best baguette I’ve ever had outside Paris 😉. Love the ambience, a small French bistro and they only serve simple continental breakfast in the morning. The jam platter offered looks so tempting and you have a lot more to choose from if you want to try out other bread. I would definitely come here next time when I’m in Tokyo. Might need to queue a bit if you come on weekend or holiday. The queue for their bakery downstairs also need some patients but it really worth the wait! Btw, they also have lunch & dinner served so might come to try out next time too

I visited this cafe and found plenty of seating, making it a comfortable spot to relax. The staff were friendly and welcoming. I decided to try their coffee and ice cream, both of which were delightful. If you're in the area, it's definitely worth a visit!

Cafe bakery recommended by some French friend. Cash only 😗 Came to try their baguettes and despite being cash only for tax purposes, by far the most expensive baguette I’ve bought in Tokyo Around 540 for the whole thing. Usually they are 300-400 Baguette 🥖 at least was really good. Pretty crispy and not stale when I bought in the afternoon. This made me curious about their other baked goods. They also sells crepes for takeout on the side and have a dine in spot upstairs

The restaurant looks like a restaurant in France and the red color scheme makes you feel like you are there. This time, I had the lunch meat lunch. The bucket is a specialty and really tasty. The crispy outside and chewy inside are exquisite and mesmerizing. It is a nice service that you can have free refills of this. The main dish is pork steak. The pork is juicy and tender, with just the right amount of grilled flavor. The tomato-based sauce accentuates the flavor of the pork. Onion Gratin Soup This soup is quite my favorite as an onion gratin soup lover. First of all, plenty of cheese on top. The aroma of the grilled cheese and the way it melts and stretches when you scoop it up is very appetizing. The onions used in abundance are meltingly intertwined with the cheese, and along with the rich taste of the consommé, the sweetness of the onions and the richness of the cheese are very delicious. Bucket and onion gratin soup is a dish that you will want to go back to regularly because it is hard to find such a delicious dish.

The opening hours on google map is only for the cafe / restaurant. Apparently the bakery is open from 8am to 8:30pm. I ordered a sugar butter crepe and it was just like french ones! Chewy and fresh. If you're sick of japanese crepes with whipped cream, this is where to go!

In times like these, they only accept cash or credit cards (they also informed me that the credit card would be accepted if you paid more than 3,000 yen, what!?), which seems outdated for a place in the middle of Shibuya. Not that anything tastes better if they use Echire butter, but the prices are all above average, and the taste is very ordinary. The pain au chocolat has too much chocolate compared to the dough; even as a chocolate lover, I found it overwhelming. Adding more dough, kneading it more, and adding more layers would improve it - maybe even just a 5% increase would result in a better pastry. Honestly, the croissants at “the bakery” in Azabudai are far better, despite being more expensive than the ones in this café. Although I was initially surprised when I visited the café upstairs, I realized that this could be the reason why the place is so empty. Never again.

A bakery with delicious baguette. There is also a restaurant on the second floor where you can relax and eat delicious bread. It is always crowded, so reservations are essential. The age range is high. The atmosphere is relaxed and not suitable for a quick bite to eat. The clerks are also very laid back.

French pastries, Japanese stinginess and portion sizes and high prices. Ridiculously expensive and small pastries for most of what's for sale there. The worst has to be their crepes though. My friend tried one Nutella crepe with no other topping at a whooping 842¥... And for what? Barely no Nutella inside. They were so cheap and stingy with ingredients. I cannot possibly recommend. Also, as per my previous experience. Everything tends to get sold out in the afternoon too so it's often that I gotnin only to find empty shelves. Frustrating.

Centre The Bakery, located in the bustling Ginza area near Tokyo Station, is a popular spot known for its coveted shokupan loaves. Managed by VIRON, this bakery specializes in sandwich bread and offers three types of breads for purchase. The Kakushoku-pan made with Hokkaido flour is particularly beloved for its soft and chewy texture. Visitors can also indulge in the springy Puru Man and crispy Igirisu Pan loaves.
There are two line ups, one is for take out and the other is for dine in. Make sure you line up at the right spot because I didn’t 😣. I ordered the 3 toast with jam and butter. It cost a whopping 2000¥. How good can toast be? I was so skeptical at first but let me tell you, it was amazing. They only had two types of bread first thing in the morning, NA and JP which is North American and Japan respectively. You get to pick a toaster to toast your bread and the server told me to toast the NA bread and eat the JP bread as is. I always like my bread toasted but I have to say the JP bread untoasted was my favourite! I would pay another 2000¥ to eat it again! It was so soft, fluffy and the edges were crispy. They gave me 3 types of high quality butter and 4 different types of jam, white chocolate and honey. I ate everything with a big smile. Only problem was that I ordered 2 toast jam/butter set and I wanted to try the cheese toast too but my server said it was too much food. So I changed my order to 3 toast jam/butter set. I think he underestimated how much I could eat. It does give me a reason to go back though. Give this place a try it’s definitely delicious.

I’ve been here a few times since 2020 and it never misses! It went viral on tiktok one or two years ago? So sometimes there’s a queue 🥹 the toaster idea is so fun! And my family and I always takes a loaf of bread home on the last day of our trip! The cheese toast and French toast is always sold out when we come 🥹 so you should go earlier!! My personal favourite is the fruit sandwich!! The shrimp inside the shrimp sandwich is always fresh and bouncy! The milk there is great too!

Tried this place out on a weekend at noon and had no wait. There is some charm in picking out the toaster for the table. The toast set was good with the different butters and jams they provide. We ordered their seasonal fruit sando which happened to be shine muscat grapes which was quite tasty. The price is a bit high for what you get but it's definitely an experience worth trying once.

What a lovely breakfast spot! You can choose from different types of toast and even get your own toaster at the table to make it just the way you like. The bread was super fresh I had the Japanese bread, which didn’t need toasting, and it was amazing. We also tried the cheese toast, which was delicious. The different butters and jams were so good too. We loved it !

As someone who lived in Japan for nine years, I found the dine-in experience here to be below average. I speak fluent Japanese, and from the moment we walked in, I sensed that the staff lacked genuine warmth and professionalism. The fit-out was also very basic — it felt cheap and didn’t live up to the brand’s image. The shokupan and jam set were certainly enjoyable, but again, the overall setup felt underwhelming. The table was also too small to comfortably accommodate everything. The French toast was far too sweet — I couldn’t even manage a second bite. Overall, I would highly recommend purchasing the shokupan for takeaway (this can be done next door), rather than dining in.
Melissa — Google review
Centre The Bakery in Ginza only sells shokupan (Japanese milk bread), and it’s kind of a big deal. They’re known for letting you toast the bread yourself at the table using your choice of toaster. I skipped the DIY and decided to buy a loaf to bring back home instead—toast at home, same vibes! But I also couldn’t resist ordering the French toast… which showed up massive and had me questioning my life choices 😅 Still, it was insanely good—soft, buttery bread that melts in your mouth, paired with cold ice cream. I didn’t finish it, but no regrets.

Their cafe was decent but the French toast is another level !!! It is probably one of the best French toast that I’ve ever had😭😭😭 We went there on a weekday in the late afternoon and there’re no line. Would def recommend this place after a long day of shopping around GINZA:)

Turret Coffee Tsukiji is a cozy and artsy cafe that pays homage to the turret mini trucks of the past at Tsukiji fish market. The cafe's warm ambiance, complete with an actual turret setup, adds a nostalgic touch to the experience. It's known for its top-notch espresso and beautifully crafted lattes, including the signature Turret Latte featuring double shots of espresso topped with exquisite latte art.
This was the richest latte I’ve ever had. Unlike a typical latte, it leans more heavily on the espresso—both in quantity and flavor. The Kawasaki Latte was even more intriguing, with a perfect balance of coffee and whiskey. The harmony between the two lasted all the way to the final sip. Judging by the depth of the coffee flavor and the aroma of the whiskey, it likely required quite a bit in terms of ingredient cost. If I travel nearby again, I’d definitely come back. You can sense the owner’s philosophy: prioritizing character and flavor over calculating costs. He recommend the Kawasaki Soda in the summer.

Best coffee in Tokyo, Osaka & Kyoto in my opinion. I always order iced lattes and Turret house blend remains unrivalled. I love its strong bitter flavour, which I was unable to find in other cafes. I highly recommend you give it a try if you enjoy a more bitter taste. The service is fast & friendly. The cafe is on the smaller end, so you might need to opt for a to-go option.

Been coming here since I started coming to Tokyo and the coffee is just as good as always and the friendly service also remains unchanged. It’s a small space but there are benches outside to take your coffee too, weather permitting. Best to bring your own takeout mug, they have some takeaway cups but encourage ppl to bring their own. Love that! The coffee is proper jet fuel— dark, thick and will power your whole morning at Tsukiji.

These are the coffee shops you came to Japan for, small, cozy, full of vibe and atmosphere, and of course the great coffee. Turret Coffee meets all those and they even open at 7am which is much appreciated. I would recommend the turret latte, very strong coffee taste and great flavor. When I went they even had a special for carrot cake cheesecake which was superb and was served as a small size to complement the morning. Sit outside and enjoy the city.

Monday morning, no queue, only a customer sitting outside. Turret latte was so bitter strong as they said. The milk was good but too heavy I couldn’t finish them. By the time I left the shop was crowded. From messages on the wall, seems like they are going to open in LA this September.

Brasserie Viron Marunouchi is a charming French bistro that boasts a traditional ambiance and an adjacent bakery. The restaurant is celebrated for its exquisite French delicacies like foie gras and escargot, while the bakery offers an array of freshly baked bread, sandwiches, and pastries. With locations in Shibuya and Marunouchi, this boulangerie takes pride in importing flour from France to create its renowned signature baguette.
Had a delicious weekday lunch at Cafe Viron in Maranouchi. Ordered the lunch special fish and meat, it came with refillable baguette. It was around 5000 yen for two people weekday lunch but you can get a cheaper a la carte. The food came very quickly which was great because we had to wait a while in line. Just be aware, you need to write your name on the list, the line is not the order of people, so we had to wait a little longer than people who arrived after us. The dishes were filling and had great flavor dispersed through the mashed potato that the protein lay upon, and the creamy sauce that surrounded it. Will come back.

Very good food with appropriate portions. I read a review there is a long wait for food to come, but I think ours came in around 5 minutes or even less. Staff did well too, no issues.

We waited for 1 hour to be seated on a weekday afternoon. Not quite sure what the hype is about. Service is probably the worst we’ve had in Japan so far. One of the waiters gave us the look when we were taking our time to order. Very limited options for vegetarians, and a minimum order of two appetizers is required if you’re a vegetarian. So we had to get an extra baguette for the table which we weren’t able to finish. For the dessert we got a Mont Blanc and a strawberry dessert. Find them mediocre and overpriced.
Iris C — Google review
The croissant was good but Iwas a bit disappointed with their nicoise sandwich. It was basically a potato sandwich (I don’t even remember they put potatos in pan pagnat). No tuna or olive oil whatsoever. Maybe I got unlucky, but I thought it was a safe option given it’s a French bakery and the abundance of tuna here in Japan.

I came here for a friend’s birthday dinner. I reserved dinner for us and I asked if they could make desert for her but it was on that day so I couldn’t. Food was really good. They gave us explanations of menu, like where it came from and good with wine etc... when we ordered deserts (mine was parfait and hers was gâteau chocolat ), who expected?? They brought her decorated cake for her birthday!!! We’re surprised and she looked happy. The service was great, I would love to come here again!! Next time I’ll come here with my mom :)

Went there for dinner about one month ago. Located in one of the top commercial buildings at Marunouchi, it is very close to Tokyo Station. It is very convenient for a tourist, especially if you stay in this area. Layout is like a typical French bistro with its own bakery. Staff can communicate in English. Service was good. Quality of food was nice and price was reasonable. On the date of my visit, a Wednesday evening, it was full. It was well patronised by locals. I think the apple pie was an excellent choice to end the dinner. Will consider a revisit if I am in the area.

Too many people so need to wait for a long time. Maybe shop some breads to go will be a better idea, the food in the restaurant was just fine not as we expect that good but still can try their food when you have free time .
Aki Y — Google review
I stumbled upon a charming little spot with all the trappings of a French café, so I popped in to pick up a baguette. The ambiance was spot-on, but the staff were less reminiscent of any Parisian boulangerie I’ve ever visited, and more of a masterclass in aloof snobbery. I asked—quite simply—if they carried anything like a spelt or ancient grain loaf. This sent them scurrying to the kitchen, only to return and deliver a monologue entirely unrelated to my question, reciting their limited knowledge with the fervour of a man defending his dissertation. By the end, I was thoroughly exhausted by the performance and made a discreet exit before they embarked on the history of yeast. •••••••••••••• As for the baguette itself—surely the point of the whole excursion—it turned out to be aggressively salted. Quite unsuitable for demi-sel butter, and entirely unworkable for any sandwich containing so much as a whisper of seasoning. One might say it was a loaf with trust issues. •••••••••••••••

Very good food and even better desserts, especially the macarons, and especially especially the salted caramel macaron. The afternoon tea is lovely, but you must have at least two people in your party to order it. The staff can be a bit stuffy, but it's still a nice experience overall.

Classy as expected. The coffee was ok. The cake was good. However, several cakes and sweets were sold out by 4PM. The sitting area is nice, but the place felt a bit dark. The best place to sit is by the window, as the view is beautiful. However, when we asked for a window table, they told us it is reserved for the full day, despite having 2 window tables free, and nobody sat in them tell 05:00PM. Even for a normal table you need a reservation, you can easily sign up at the main counter, you’ll just scan a QR code and fill in the info.

Great high tea, with a view of down town Ginza. The sweet side of the high tea was excellent, but the savoury sandwiches were bland and a bit dry. I ordered the hot chocolate with my high tea and it was rich and delicious. I highly recommend this place, but there was to book and there was a bit of a wait to get in. Also it’s worth noting that the high tea is only served before 18:00pm.

We love macarons so we didn’t doubt to go to Laduree in Ginza! They have shop and cafeteria so you can order to go or eating whatever you want there, the cafeteria has good views to ginza streets. We went twice, the first day we order to go and the second day we wanted to have a nice lunch there and how was our surprise that the cafeteria was full and the staff told us that if we want to eat inside we should wait in a corridor outside the restaurant (you can see the pics) after seeing this we left

Hidemi Sugino is a renowned patisserie located in Tokyo, known for its delicate and artistic French-style tarts and cakes. Despite its small and isolated location in the alley of Ginza, it has gained popularity as one of the finest patisseries in the city. The elegant shop opens at 11 AM, but customers often start queuing up at least 30 minutes before opening to secure their treats, as the cakes tend to sell out quickly.
So I came here during the weekdays (yes it's a very crowded cake shop, don't go in weekend) & rainy day. This is the perfect combination, so no queue outside the store but still many people inside. I ordered take away cakes, since I don't want to be overcharged for the drink. Overall the cakes were very good, it has very strong flavor, consist of various layer with different taste, & the presentation is quite exquisite. Highly recommended cake, but kinda tricky :)
Ronald M — Google review
First and foremost the cake is really over packed, but very safe. What I had wasn't great, the bottom caramel layer was tasty, but the top coffee layer overpowered everything. It tastes like they used too much instant coffee and it was bitter, exactly like a too strong instant black coffee. From the fancy atmosphere of the place and the aforementioned packaging I expected better.

Excellent artisan cakes, get in line at least 30 minutes before the opening. Most of the signature cakes aren’t allowed for takeaway. They also sell the cookbooks here
Noel C — Google review
Located in the Ginza area. I would suggest to buy to take away as you have to order a drink for each person dining in and also the seats are limited plus the serving time is kinda long. The cakes are about 780 yen each and taste really really good.
Xianren G — Google review
The notorious Hidemi Sugino. Their cakes were hands down the best desserts I've ever had. Everything about the little mousse cakes was perfect, from the smooth texture to the balanced flavors. Their style is very subtle and delicate, so it's not for everyone, especially those who prefer sweet, in-your-face desserts. I went on a weekday afternoon and waited about 20 minutes for a seat. FYI they do require each person to order a drink (I recommend tea rather than coffee here) and their cakes are a bit smaller. With everything said, I found the quality of their desserts to be well worth the wait and the price.
Vicky S — Google review
Overrated. Cake is quite nice, but definitely not the best. Each cake costs around 700 yen. There are cakes that you can only eat inside. We tried Ambroisie and Diplomate. The Ambroisie is the most popular cake and you can only eat it inside the store. Rumor has it that they only make 10 per day. The taste different between the cakes and the drinks are heaven and earth. The drinks are so average and expensive. 740 yen per small cup. If you eat inside, you need to order drink per person. Feels like a rip off. Go on weekdays, less queue. We went on Thursday, there were only three ppl in front of us and we could eat the Ambroisie. No photo inside the store too.

AMAZING! Definitely the best chocolate mousse cake I ever had! It was worth the long wait. This chocolate mousse is for dine-in only. There are other cakes that you can order home. Everything is beautiful and really delicious.

Not too far from main street of Ginza area. The place is crowded with a queue that can go up to 1hour. The interior design is beautiful with a great color which fit perfectly the cakes. Patisserie Sadaharu Aoki Paris Marunouchi Store is a refined bakery that seamlessly blends Japanese and French pastry-making techniques. This sophisticated confectionery is celebrated for its exquisite eclairs and an assortment of delightful baked goods. From traditional French delicacies like millefeuille and macarons to innovative creations infused with Japanese flavors, the menu at this patisserie promises to delight any dessert enthusiast.
This is the Tokyo outpost of the eponymous Paris-based chef. The desserts and pastries are all French, but many of them use Japanese ingredients (e.g. yuzu, wasabi, matcha, houjicha, etc). The wasabi macaron sells out quickly, so you should go early if you want to try it. One side of the store is a traditional pastry shop, and the other is a café. I would recommend that you take photos of the pastries in the display counters before sitting down because they will let you order anything you want even if it’s not on the café menu. I had the tasting plate which came with small samples of 8 of the most popular desserts - beautifully presented and each one was delicious in its own way. Unlike traditional Japanese confections, many of the flavors here are pretty intense (especially the chocolate ones), so I would just keep that in mind. As for drinks, you can go with the traditional coffee/tea route, but you can also go with champagne - like a half-bottle of Lanson. It was a very decadent, delectable way to spend an afternoon in Tokyo.

The “Degustation Royal” cake set was a feast for both the eyes and palate. Each miniature cake was exquisitely crafted, offering a range of flavors from rich chocolate to refreshing matcha and tangy fruit layers. The textures were perfectly balanced, making every bite a new discovery. Paired with their black coffee, which was smooth and robust with a subtle bitterness, the combination was indulgent yet refined. The elegant interior of the patisserie, with its bright and luxurious ambiance, added to the overall experience😍

APRIL 2023 When I visited the store it was busy so decided to takeout a number of cakes. The staff at the counter was patient and helpful with answering some questions about the cakes. The matcha related desserts had a mild matcha flavor, especially the 'Bamboo' where the chocolate ganache was overpowering, alcohol flavor was also quite strong. The 'Saya' cake had a strong sweet strawberry cream layer but the Frasier definitely tastes better with the strawberries and cream sandwich between the soft dacquoise. The other favorite was the 'Paradis fraises' which was essentially a big macaron with plenty of sweet strawberries and pistachio cream and praline, the combination of flavors and texture was divine. It was definitely expensive but the frasier and the macaron cake which I enjoyed a lot was well worth it.

My favourite Pastry store of all time! Everytime I am in Tokyo or Paris I must pay a visit Becuase their pastries are so beautifully made and not to mention tastes amazing! The girl who served us was super kind and considerate and even provided ice packs for our trip!

Fancy sweet patisserie café 🍵 Nice experience to have a seat and enjoy the beautiful cake here. All look nice. Like the matcha green tea cake. Chocolate cake also good. The chocolate fingers look so good 😊. Love the concept of the dessert here. Not too sweet. High quality ingredients.

The matcha croissant is awesome. I had this other dessert which has strawberries in them. It's superb, the cream is not overwhelming. Thus, I can taste the delicious strawberries. All the elements combine well together.👍

Someone told me this was the best macaron ever. That if you don't like macaron, it's just because you've never had a good one. I'm not into sweets so I didn't really get the hype BUT I did enjoy the cafe and earl grey flavor. Tried cassis and citron flavor too but not my type. They also gave us some yuzu bonbons but the sourness and bitterness didn't sit well with me huhu 3 stars for the macarons. Texture was really good!

iki Espresso is a modern, open-fronted cafe in Tokyo that has quickly become known as the go-to place for flat white coffee. The cafe's owner, Mr. Harase, is a seasoned coffee specialist with over 25 years of experience and has introduced New Zealand's coffee and brunch culture to Japan. The sophisticated white interior provides a comfortable lounge space for patrons to enjoy their drinks and pastries.
This place was truly incredible. The food was as good as it looked, which is rare! We got the cheese scones, chili eggs on toast, ricotta pancakes, and Hakuna Latte. Every single item delivered. I would eat here time and time again!

A Taste of New Zealand in Tokyo at Iki Espresso On our last day in Tokyo, we made time for one final café stop—and Iki Espresso was the perfect choice. Inspired by New Zealand café culture, this spot delivered a relaxing, stylish atmosphere and a brunch menu that was both creative and satisfying. We ordered the roasted broccoli with hummus, and it was a standout dish. The portion was generous, the broccoli was perfectly charred, and the hummus was smooth and well-seasoned. Simple, healthy, and packed with flavour. The matcha hotcakes were equally impressive—fluffy, warm, and beautifully plated with just the right amount of sweetness. The coffee here also deserves a mention. Smooth, strong, and expertly brewed, it’s clear that the baristas take their craft seriously. The café has a bright, minimalist interior with plenty of natural light, making it an ideal space to unwind, especially on a slower-paced final day. Iki Espresso feels like a slice of New Zealand right in the heart of Tokyo. Whether you’re after a satisfying brunch or just a quality cup of coffee, this is a spot well worth visiting. We’re glad we squeezed it in before heading home.

Delicious food! As a kiwi I can say the food here is very authentic and potentially bit better than a lot of NZ cafe food. Coffee was great too. The fact that they have Mince on toast on the menu means someone has really done their research on kiwi cuisine 😅 It’s a bit expensive by Japanese standards but the food is worth it. (And to be honest it’s still cheaper than it would be in NZ) Highly recommend. Made my partner and I a bit homesick 🥹

We visited Iki Espresso three times and absolutely loved it! Their breakfast options, especially the eggs Benedict, are incredibly delicious and well-prepared. The matcha latte is rich and flavorful, and the black coffee is bold and smooth. You can even buy coffee beans from them to take home! The café is located in a quiet and peaceful neighborhood, which makes it a lovely place to relax. However, keep in mind that it gets very busy on weekends — it’s packed from 8:00 AM! Highly recommended if you’re in Tokyo and looking for: #TokyoCafe #BestCoffeeTokyo #IkiEspresso #EggsBenedict #MatchaLatte #BreakfastInTokyo #TokyoBrunch #SpecialtyCoffee #QuietCafeTokyo #CoffeeBeansTokyo #KotoCityCafes #HiddenGemTokyo

This is a cozy cafe with a unique and charming design. The coffee is delicious, and the French toast we had for brunch was truly exceptional. The prices are reasonable, and the staff is friendly. The warm latte was particularly enjoyable. The QR code menu was convenient. It's located in a quiet residential area, so accessibility isn't the best, but if you're looking for delicious coffee and brunch in Tokyo, it's worth a visit.

Verve Coffee Roasters, a Californian coffee roaster, has made its mark in Tokyo with three locations. The Roppongi branch stands out as a spacious coffee shop with ample seating, Wi-Fi, and delectable hot sandwiches. It's known for unique drinks like the honey rosemary latte. Meanwhile, the Shinjuku outlet offers a calming ambiance with earthy tones and cozy outdoor seating.
A great coffee shop in Tokyo and it’s easy to go because it’s in the Shinjuku station. - I ordered pour over coffee with single origin’s bean from Guatemala. It had a good aroma with a smooth taste. - The coffee in the servers can be request to taste it before you would like to order. - I brought a coffee bean 1 bag and 2 drip bags, then I got 1 free coffee! That’s so impressive. - The cashier is nice, the barista as well.

On a hot and humid day in Tokyo, we were looking for a place to cool off and came across this café near the park. As is the wonderful custom in Tokyo, the staff were welcoming and kind. We ordered some drinks and sweets, though there were a few challenges due to the language barrier. One of our drinks was served incorrectly, but they were helpful and quickly fixed it. The café had a cozy atmosphere, though it was quite crowded when we visited. The coffee and sweets didn’t meet our expectations. The coffee, in particular, needs some improvement. Overall, it was a nice experience. We liked the friendly service and great location.

Classic tourist trap on the railway. Skip it and go to the next door coffee shop. The coffee was ok, and I liked that they offer a few different drip options to try while you are waiting. But the food was a total disappointment. I ordered a pastrami and avocado sandwich, and it was basically just bread with some warm avocado and mayonnaise. I found one tiny piece of pastrami inside. The bread was overtoasted, and they didn't include the pickles, which are supposed to be the key complement to a pastrami sandwich. What's even worse, the sandwich cost 1200 yen, while the cafe right next door has so much better ones for half the price. It's not even about the money it's just bad quality and careless service. You expect to grab a decent sandwich for your trip and they just let you down, so poor experience. Avoid it.
Stanislav T — Google review
I came for speciality coffee here, which was quite good. And service is also very nice. The coffe shop is quite busy at 10 am, it’s located inside a station, so don’t dream of relaxing and siping your cup of pour over coffee in quiet atmosphere, it will just not happen. So many things are happening around, lot’s of food, people talking on loud speaker with their children left at home. You can buy roasted beans here and if you buy in advance, you will get a pour over of the same coffee for free, which is a surprising bonus. I immagine this place would be so much better with their personnel and coffee located somewhere else!
Bobo — Google review
A pick up as soon as you walk in the door, Concrete Schoolyard playing overhead. And the wonderful smell, oh the smell!!! They've got a sleek tasting bar where you can try up to ten different coffees -- it honestly looks like a science experiment in the best way possible. Beakers, precision pours, and baristas who know their craft. I ordered the Valencia Latte, a Tokyo-exclusive specialty. It's a hot espresso drink with your choice of milk, infused with Valencia orange -- that bright, citrusy lift -- and maybe a hint of vanilla or citrus syrup. Think espresso meets sunshine. Paired it (unintentionally perfectly) with an Earl Grey and Orange Peel Scone from Sawamura. Didn't plan to match the flavors, but the combo was ridiculously harmonious -- fragrant, textured, and just sweet enough. The baristas were friendly and fast, and the shop is a short walk from our hotel. The latte was so good it ruined office coffee for me -- seriously, I'd help fund a barista if it meant this level of flavor at work. Bonus: they hand you a note for ¥200 off your next drink if you get it during the same visit. My husband drinks four cups a day -- do the math, it's a win. The crowd was a cool mix of locals and travelers -- Japanese students, Swedes, Canadians, Americans -- all soaking in the calm hum of great music and caffeine. Bottom line: sure, you can get Verve in California, but this Tokyo version has an extra layer of style and precision. Come for the coffee, stay for the experience -- it's a full-on performance in a cup.

Very popular establishment. Tried going in for a coffee during lunch time and as expected, I couldn’t even get in. Had better luck when I went back later. I always ask for recommendations when I visit coffee joints, and this time, I was recommended the elderflower latte. It had some grated orange rind at the top, which releases the oil and it hits the nose nicely when you bring the glass to the nose, and the coffee was wonderfully aromatic. Really nice drink.

After a long day of shopping in Shinjuku, I stumbled upon this cafe in a shopping mall. The waffles on the menu caught my eye, so I decided to give it a try. I ordered a mocha and a waffle. Both the food and coffee were quite average and the cafe lacked air conditioning, making it very stuffy and uncomfortable.
SY K — Google review
We were lucky to get seats for 3 at 3pm on a Tuesday afternoon upon arrival. The cafe was quite small and could sit only 10 at the high bar table. Friendly service staff. The hot mocha expresso was rich and awesome. The carrot cake and pecan cakes were delicious. Moist and not overly sweet. The chocolate cookie was quite hard but went well when dipped into hot espresso. Highly recommend!

FACTORY is a beloved bakery known for its artisan breads, pastries, and simple menu of quiches. The bread is particularly exceptional, with a soft and enjoyable texture that keeps customers coming back for more. The cafe area offers a comfortable and cozy vibe with a cute interior, making it an inviting place to enjoy a meal. Customers also praise the flavorful soup of the day and sausage roll, which pair perfectly with the freshly baked bread.
One of the best bakeries I've been to in Tokyo! Each slice of bread was delicious and the lunch plate was so filling! The biggest quiche I've ever had and the flavour was on point. The photogenic atmosphere was cozy and welcoming as well. I highly recommend shopping before you leave as well! Bread, cookies and granola were delicious. I literally wanted to buy everything in the store. It's a bit of a walk from the station but well worth it! The short distance from the station means a relaxing and quiet atmosphere which is a rare find in Tokyo. Definitely recommend!

Very friendly. Consistently good taste and excellent quality since over two decades, during which my wife and I used to go there to this “Factory” on a daily basis as neighbors living very close. Our special favorite then was their “Pain de campagne”. BTW, we happened to see a YouTube video clip posted just a few days ago by a YouTuber “Kikkake” and its title was “Three consecutive holidays to make a leisurely breakfast. A happy time spent with warm soup and bread. daily life, breakfast.” To our surprise, at around 6:20-23, we noticed the following subtitles“Buns from a bakery called FACTORY in Kudanshita Tokyo, which is a bit far (for me). Nonetheless, I go there to buy it, because it’s so delicious !”

One of my favourite bakeries for so many reasons. Let's start with the bread. The. Bread. I love bread, and this bread is exceptional. So incredibly soft and enjoyable to eat, I could eat it all day. The Cafe area has a comfortable and somewhat cosy vibe. A very cute interior. I also got the soup of the day and sausage in a roll. The soup was so flavoursome and I ate it with the bread that I was served upon sitting down. I got some bagels to take away, sweet and savoury. The texture was perfect, a little bit chewy and dense, but still soft. The service was fantastic and staff were friendly and inviting.

Cute, industrial design, little bakery. They have a solid, carbs-heavy breakfast for 750¥. Lunch is also quite nice, with a selection of either soup+sandwich or quiche/pizza+salad. The staff is very nice as well.

No.4 is a trendy bakery cafe located in Chiyoda-ku, just a short walk from Ichigaya Station. It offers a variety of wood-fired pizzas, classic pastries, salads, and coffee in a modern setting with both indoor and outdoor seating. While the sourdough bread is highly praised, some have found it disappointing due to its soft crust after being displayed for some time. The restaurant is part of the same group that operates TY Harbor Brewery & Crista.
I’m pretty sure I put this place on my list because they sell sourdough bread, which isn’t readily available in Tokyo. I went in the evening and got right in, but most of the bread selection was gone by that time. So I’ll definitely be back. But what I did stay for was the brioche french toast and it was outstanding. It’s a repeat item for sure. The space is also cool, and feels a bit rustic. Service was fast and friendly.

No. 4 Café may look like an unassuming single level building in the bustling city of Tokyo, but it was already crowded even on a Monday morning at 9am. When I arrived, I took a queue number and noticed that there were already 6 groups ahead of me. Since I was dining alone, I selected the option to sit anywhere, including outdoors. It did not take long before a waiter guided me to an outdoor seat. Orders were placed conveniently by scanning a QR code. I ordered the French Toast Combo Set together with a cup of iced Americano. The food was served within 15 minutes and looked absolutely fantastic. The French toast came with a variety of sides, which allowed me to mix and match different ingredients to create unique flavour combinations with each bite. Overall, it was a hearty breakfast that was both delicious and beautifully presented. This is definitely a café that should not be missed if you are in Tokyo.

We got here around 8:30am and put our names on the list. It was about a 35 minute wait. When we got seated, they did have an English menu so really easy ordering process, and our server was so sweet. I ended up getting a coffee and though I do not remember the name, I remember it was delicious. For the main show I got the French toast breakfast it came with a fried egg and this whipped butter that was to die for!

The French toast is moist, and the seasoning is not overly sweet at all. Both the bread and the dipping sauce are delicious. I highly recommend the brunch here ✨

This café offered a very pleasant experience overall. I had a warm café latte, which was creamy, rich, and perfectly balanced. The portion was generous, and it had a deep, satisfying coffee flavor that made it a great start to the meal. For food, I ordered the homemade Caesar salad, which was prepared in a slightly unique style. It was not a standard Caesar salad, but it was very well executed. The lettuce was crisp and fresh, the dressing had a rich and tangy flavor, and the parmesan tied everything together beautifully. The croutons were crunchy and added a lovely texture. It was a refreshing and flavorful salad, and I would definitely recommend trying it when visiting the café. The second dish I had was a falafel plate served with flatbread, vegetables, and sauce. The falafel was slightly dry but still flavorful, and it had a nice spice mix. The grilled vegetables, especially the mushrooms and beetroot, were excellent and added great depth to the plate. The flatbread paired well with everything, and the sauce in the middle was the highlight. It was creamy, rich, and complemented the dish perfectly. The combination of all elements worked very well together, even if the falafel could have been a bit moister. The service was outstanding. The café is very well organized with a modern system. You order online using a QR code at your table, and for seating you get a waiting ticket from an iPad. The staff works quickly, efficiently, and with great coordination. Everyone seemed focused and genuinely dedicated to their work, which gave the place a very professional but friendly atmosphere. The ambiance was charming and comfortable, with a warm and relaxed feeling. The space was nicely designed and felt welcoming. Overall, this café offers great food, excellent service, and a pleasant environment.

Worth the Wait? Stepping into the bustling heart of Tokyo, we found ourselves drawn to a highly-raved bakery cafe, a spot promising artisanal delights. The aroma of freshly baked bread wafted through the air, a tantalizing invitation that, unfortunately, came with a significant caveat: a 1.5-hour wait. Yes, you read that right – ninety minutes spent anticipating our brunch (originally breakfast). Once seated, the experience took a turn for the visually spectacular. From the delicate pastries adorned with fresh berries to the meticulously arranged savory toasts, it was clear that the chefs here possess an incredible eye for detail, turning simple ingredients into Instagram-worthy masterpieces. However, when it came to the actual taste, our expectations, perhaps inflated by the long wait and the visual feast, were met with a more moderate reality. The food was, in a word, "alright." While certainly not bad, it didn't quite reach the heights of culinary excellence that the presentation suggested. The flavors were pleasant, but lacked that distinctive "wow" factor that would justify such a lengthy queue. Adding to this, I couldn't help but feel that the prices leaned towards the higher side for what was offered. While Tokyo is known for its premium dining experiences, the slight disconnect between the "alright" taste and the "beautifully presented, slightly overpriced" tag left me pondering the overall value. The Verdict: If you're someone who prioritizes aesthetics and doesn't mind a considerable wait for a picturesque meal, this bakery cafe might just be your cup of tea (or coffee!). The ambiance is charming, and the food is undeniably photogenic. However, if your primary goal is an unforgettable culinary experience that justifies both the wait and the price tag, you might find yourself, like us, leaving with a feeling of "it was good, but..."

Maybe the best French toast in Japan 🥰 Been coming years now They got super soft and fluffy French test from their brioche bread baked on site Doesn’t even need syrup! Just solo or with the butter They do have a seasonal French toast that changes monthly. Be warned ‼️ this place went viral on social media so expect a LONG wait. Especially on weekends. Waited 2-3 hours in past. Ngl this is main reason I don’t come often 🤣 Thankfully they’ve added a ticketing system No line usually before closing. Last order is at 8:30pm Place can be pretty noisy btw 10/8 update came for 🎃 pumpkin French toast. Was great but know they’ve raised prices a bit 🫠

Buvette Tokyo is a French-inspired restaurant, cafe, and bar located on the ground floor of Tokyo Midtown Hibiya. It offers an all-day dining experience in a casual and convivial atmosphere. The establishment is known for its celebrity-chef-backed chicken and waffles. American chef Jody Williams, who has successful eateries in New York and Paris, opened this outpost in 2018.
This is such a cute little French-style spot we stopped at for brunch! It was a little crowded, but they still sat us pretty quickly. The food was good and a nice change of pace from all the Japanese meals we were having. It's worth a stop if you want a Western-style breakfast!

American diner. Rushed service and Rude!!! Tastes so bad!!! Very bland, unseasoned food!!! They have breakfast, lunch and brunch menus. Popular. Queuing outside. Luckily we were there around 10.40am and the queue was not so long. After a short wait of 10 mins, we were seated. Not great dining experience. Service is a little rushed. Some of the staff are aggressive and rude! Food not tasty....I could not eat more than 20% of the food on my plate even though I tried hard as the taste was not as good as I expected. Scrambled egg is very bland. I had 2 spoons of the soup and just couldn't have any more. As soon as the waitress saw I wasn't eating my food she took away my plates. When paying the bill, the system is very strange....have to follow the waitress to the till and then had to wait in line by myself while waiting to pay. We spent JPY8,000 and were here for 40 mins. Rushed dining experience

A great option of western food in tokyo. Good for dates, with candle light vibes. The food is very good and authentically western. Real French taste, seasoning and style. No Japanese fusion. The portions a generous. I shared a main and desert for a couple. And we were satisfied. The course meals also seem like a very good deal. We sat by the bar and the chair was not good and squeaky. A bit uncomfortable. And the wait was a bit long while there were available empty seats… Overall, totally recommended.

If you're in the mood for a little European flair in the heart of Tokyo, Buvette is a lovely stop worth checking out. Just a 1-minute walk from Hibiya Station (and 5 minutes from Yūrakuchō), this charming spot sits on the ground floor of the elegant Tokyo Midtown Hibiya complex—right next to the cinema and shopping area. The café has both indoor and outdoor seating, each offering a warm, Western-inspired atmosphere that feels effortlessly chic. Whether you're sipping inside or people-watching on the terrace, it’s easy to feel transported somewhere far from the bustle of central Tokyo. We tried their famous chocolate mousse, and it absolutely lived up to the hype—rich, indulgent, and perfectly airy. The drinks were pretty standard, but the dessert stole the show for us. While a little on the pricey side, visiting Buvette at least once for the ambiance alone feels like a worthwhile splurge. They also serve savory dishes, and the nighttime outdoor seating definitely deserves a return visit under the city lights.

Great balance of flavors along with the perfect chew. Tokyo knows how to do bread. Salt butter roll - different from the Korean and milk bread salt butter rolls. Chewier along with a crispier crust. Sausage bread - bratwurst sausage w mustard. Not heavy at all. Pineapple and coconut galette- crust was baked to perfection and the flavors complimented each other. Chocolate babka- not too sweet. No need to pair it w coffee. No wait on an early Sunday morning. You can order bread and eat it on the terrace. Good place to enjoy the morning and people watch.

Beautiful outdoor seating area. A short wait to be seated as a single diner, very reasonable. Simple food but well flavored. 95% locals which is nice. The electronic seating and ordering system makes this very western friendly despite being a local spot. The onsite bakery is fantastic and I would recommend grabbing something to go as well.

There are so many unique baked goodies compared to a usual neighbourhood bakery. The prices also aren't that high. I got myself a bagel, the special donut and some rye bread. We can buy and sit out on what they call "terrace seating", which is basically just an open air seating arrangement.

This is a cool little outdoor spot I usually hit-up when I'm in Omotesando and craving something other than Japanese food. The menu is pretty good, includes gourmet salads, sandwiches, pancakes, bread, etc...as well as a Craft Beer menu. Menu is both English and Japanese. The staff speak English. The whole restaurant is non-smoking. On the weekends it tends to be crowded so expect to wait. Put your name on the waiting list as soon as you arrive. The majority of seating is outdoor, dress appropriately according to the weather. The atmosphere is casual and has very cool vibe, especially in the warmer months. CICADA shares the same property, so that is also an option. One of my favorite combo plates here is the Avocado Turkey Sandwich with Canadian bacon and a Craft Beer as well as any salad accompanied with basket of bread. That basket of bread is addicting! Anyways, this place I definitely recommend and you will definitely be satisfied.

Lovely place near Skytree! The cafe is quite small and tends to get crowded easily so I suggest having your drinks to go instead and visiting the nearby park if the weather is nice ☺️ The coffee was great and I was able to select which blend I wanted ☕️ I asked for a bitter blend and was given the El Dorado beans for my cafe latte. They also give you a small paper explaining the flavor of the beans in more detail. I also appreciate the friendly staff who took my order 🥰

This is an awesome specialty coffee shop that takes its coffee very seriously. Remember to be patient during busy hours as the drinks and desserts are all crafted with care! I would highly recommend what just might be the best coffee shop in all of Sumida!☕️🙂🎉

Amazing coffee and friendly staff! This establishment takes its coffee very seriously! They are also apparently a barista training center recognized by international barista champions! They have small placards with their drinks to inform you of its characteristics and flavor notes Cozy place to read a book on a rainy day Great dessert options as well! I had the banana cake as well as a chocolate tart of some kinda which were both delicious

Located just access the Skytree, this cafe was also full, but luckily we were able to get a seat within 5 minutes of waiting. Today's selection was the seasonal cold brew, which had a very good balance between bitterness and sweetness and the Tokyo cheesecake, a densely rich type with a hint of sourness. They don't have a lot of seats, so if you don't like waiting, I also recommend you get it to go and enjoy it along the riverside looking up at the Tokyo Skytree. Crowd Size: Very High (5min wait) Payment Method: Credit Card

This is one of my all time favorite coffee shops! I go every time I visit Tokyo. They always have new and interesting flavors and the espresso quality is just unbeatable. Their sweets are delicious as well. It's also right by the Skytree, so you get a lovely view if you decide to take a stroll with your delicious beverage. I will never forget the orange latte I had there, it was the best coffee I have ever had I think about it all the time.

This is a quaint little place that was walking distance from our Airbnb. The staff was friendly and welcoming. We had a coffee flight and made our own dessert flight. We even bought some coffee beans make our own lattes at home. The peach earl grey latte was not very peachy and it was underwhelming. The coffee flight was fun and a new experience, they gave us a soda water to mix with the coffee, which was surprisingly delicious. To top it off the desserts were fantastic and the latte art was beautiful!

The cafe boasts a stylish interior with neon and pastel colors and offers around 30 different dishes to choose from. Guests can indulge in a variety of comfort foods that pair well with their delicious coffee at reasonable prices. Despite some low ratings, many visitors found the cafe to be decent, praising the good coffee and tasty desserts.
Bloody tasty the grilled pork I ordered . Coffee is my favorite too. I am enjoyed.

I made a reservation for a lunch course and visited with four of us, and it took me an hour to get drinks, salad, pasta, and so on...Pasta was just plain carbo pasta, and today's meat steak was just a regular steak. The last course, dessert, didn't come out for more than an hour and a half. I don't think you need to spend this much time on a trip. I don't recommend it.

Didn't have the food but the dessert and coffee was good. I was sat and served immediately and the drink and dessert came out in 5 mins

Not sure why the rating is so low as I found this cafe to be decent. The coffee was good and the caramel cheesecake was pretty tasty. The space is nice and open and the staff was friendly and accommodating. There were plenty of people around and the atmosphere was positive. Prices were on par with similar cafes.

Not worth the wait, or the prices Ambience is average, there was a large waitlist when we arrived but the moved pretty quickly. Everyone must order a drink even if you’re eating/ordering snacks. Menu is both Japanese and English so it’s pretty foreigner friendly however it seemed like everyone in there was Japanese/a local. Drinks range from 550 to ~870 yen and the fruit tea is super bland and pretty much a cup full of ice. The matcha pudding although it looks really cool also isn’t worth it, it’s creamy but that’s about it, not sweet, not decadent, just a bland mousse.
Diana D — Google review
We walked for 15 minutes in the pouring rain to get there just to hear one of the waitresses say that the place is closed (we came a hour prior to the closing time). At this point i simply asked if i could at least use the toilet and was disgustingly replied with an angry “no!”..

One of the cafes near Shibuya station that is open late on Monday (until 23.00) and serves dessert. The dessert menu is a little limited but the portions are filling. The space is cozy for conversing with friends.

Went there for the pudding because I saw it on a few blogs. It was so bad that we couldn’t finish it. Matcha pudding was thick and grainy. Tasted like matcha cake rather than pudding. Custard pudding was a little better in terms of texture but also hard. Honestly had better pudding from convenient store… Also didn’t like that they have a one drink system because we each ordered food and desserts and didn’t need a drink. Spent about 2,500yen each (drinks are mostly about 600yen) 2 stars because 1. the Caesar salad and pasta was good . 2. The environment is nice if you want to chill and chat

TOLO PAN TOKYO is a well-known bakery led by Shinji Tanaka, an experienced baker with a passion for creating a wide variety of baked goods using 13 different types of flour. The bakery offers around 100 diverse items daily, blending French and Japanese-European flavors. The croissants are particularly recommended for their unique texture and buttery flavor. Customers also praise the cinnamon rolls and shio bread.
Bought pan au chocolat, scone, and the pastry with anko (on the pic). The last one is my fav, but others were delicious too. Great bakery that I found just by accident, now can’t wait to try something more!
Anastasiia K — Google review
Literally the best croissants I've ever eaten. I also had a matcha scone, which was equally incredible. But I'm going to focus this review on the croissants. This place always has a long line. It has a great reputation and it deserves it. Yesterday, I walked by in the late afternoon, just before they closed. No line, but only a few items left. I went in and bought some stuff. I ordered a plain croissant and a chocolate one. I didn't eat the chocolate one until the next morning, and it was still the best chocolate croissant I've ever had, even a day old. Yes, I've eaten croissants in Paris. These are better. They do everything that's amazing about how they make them in France, but leveled up. The exterior was delicate and flaky; it looks like it's going to be too crispy, like a hard crunch. But it's not, it's perfect. You bite through the crisp, buttery exoskeleton into layered, doughy, chewy deliciousness. It has the buoyant and tender mouth-feel of good high-hydration sourdough, but in thin laminated sheets. The butter coats your mouth. Then, there's just enough salt to enrich all the flavors. When I write a croissant review, I expect to talk about how one thing is featured. I might write something like, "this croissant is all about showing off high quality butter fat" or "nothing distracts from the perfect layered pastry dough." In this case, I can't. Everything is exceptional and emphasized in equal measure. You taste each component of a croissant, one after the other, like that flavor-changing candy in Willy Wonka. Finally, you'll meditate on the sum of parts, living in croissant bliss. I wish I bought more. I will go back. And I'm willing to wait in line, now. It's that good.

I had my best croissant so far in Tokyo. It may seem a bit over-baked for some, but it was really gorgeous. It was still hot when I had it. So crispy on the outside and you can smell it was made with real butter, which isn't the case in all the bakeries here in Tokyo. You can't imagine how happy I was when I finally had a real croissant after visiting quite a few bakeries here. The price is 390en but considering its size and quality material, it was really a good deal. I wish I could try other bread but I was full after one croissant. I will definitely come back! By the way, I don't recommend the donuts. At 420en and nothing special, not quite a good deal.

This might be the biggest croissant I had ever tried. It's a mixure of crunchy and chewy texture. I got full just eat one because of its buttery flavor. Setagaya baguette is also very unique which is spreading with goose butter outside and that makes aromatic savory. I highly recommend! :))

Really good bakery, with lots of delicious options to choose from. The staff are wonderful and sometimes gift you with a sample of a baked good when you buy something! Tolo Pan offers great service and even though it’s a small bakery, it has a pleasant and welcoming atmosphere. I feel lucky to have found this place! In this picture I’ve uploaded, I used cheese on a slice of brown bread from a loaf I bought at Tolo Pan on the right hand side. On the left hand side, I have the curry pan (curry filled bread) which in my opinion, is the best curry pan I’ve ever tried! And it’s not too spicy in my opinion. You *might* be able to ask for a tester if you’re not sure about the spice level. Enjoy! @fashionmode

Restaurant
Bricolage Bread & Co. is a relaxed cafe and bakery located near Roppongi Hills in Tokyo, offering artisanal French bread, international snacks, and coffee. The establishment consists of a take-out bread and pastry section, a coffee counter run by Fuglen, and a cozy cafe with outdoor seating under shady sakura trees. The collaboration between a chef, baker, and coffee roaster ensures high-quality ingredients sourced directly from farmers in various regions of Japan.
An old time favorite in Roppongi. This bakery café is great for a quick carb pick-me-up or a leisurely lunch. Bricolage is quite popular so the bakery items are variable depending on demand - it's recommended to go before lunch for the best selection. This latest visit was for lunch – everything is extremely fresh and I would highly recommend the salad, fried chicken and shredded carrots. I’ve also had the Wagyu cheeseburger in the past and it was scrumptious. For my fellow travelers – if you are planning to dine-in, go to the counter to the left of the column to order food and drinks. they will hand you an electronic beeper and then you go into the next room to pick up your food when ready. You also wait for your coffee drinks in front of the coffee bar. The register to the right of the column is for to-go bakery items.

We queued for about 50 minutes, so naturally, I was expecting the food to be mind-blowingly good—something truly worth the wait. Unfortunately, it didn’t quite live up to the hype. The overall experience felt a bit average, like something you could easily get at other Western-style cafés. Their signature dishes were decent, but nothing particularly amazing or memorable. The chicken karaage, however, was a standout—crispy, juicy, and flavorful—definitely something the Japanese do exceptionally well. The cacao drink was a bit too sour for my taste, and the dark rum coffee had only a very mild coffee flavor, which was underwhelming. The pudding is also average, and the brown sugar tastes a bit bitter... In summary, it’s a nice café, but only if there’s little to no queue. Otherwise, it feels like a bit of a letdown and not really worth such a long wait.

This place is a bit confusing. It's hard to order pastries and then sit down and eat them. The ordering counter for meals (burgers, sandwiches) is at a different place than the ordering counter for pastries, but we wanted to eat pastries in the restaurant. It feels like decisions need to be made very quickly and there's little explanation of how that should happen properly. It's almost just 2 shops in the same building, where the pastry counter has no menu and you just have to take pictures of what's available if you need time to think. I think we waited about a half hour to order (which was reasonable). The pastries were pretty good/okay. I don't think there's enough butter in all of Japan to actually rival French pastries, so that should not be your bar if you're going here. We tried several different pastries and the best were the financiers and the sausage dog imo. That said, the cafe latte and the brown sugar dessert option were freaking phenomenal. I would definitely go back for those, but not really anything else. The burger was juicy, but mostly drowned in ketchup and too sweet.

May 2025: Visiting from the United States and stayed at the Grand Hyatt nearby. Workers are very friendly. Found this bakery that had amazing coffee and baked goods nearby. Coffee was fabulous with wonderful tasting notes 🎶. I normally add oat milk instead of cream. The restaurant had oat milk as an upgradeable option.👍 My favorite baked goods were the bread 🍞 and the raisin roll. Also tried the avocado 🥑 toast. Stayed at the hotel for six nights and this place was my go-to for coffee and breakfast. Probably stopped by for coffee, pastries and/or bread six different times. On the last day of my vacation, I tried a "pain perdu" which was so delicious. Reminds me of a french toast... And I looked up the name and it's literally french toast 😀. Aside from the delicious bread, this is my new favorite! Will definitely come back again when I am in Tokyo again!

One of the most popular bakery shop in the area, lots of people were queuing pf a seat. For take out, no need to wait. I waited for 20mins for a seat, then ordered. This is my third time here, every menu was delicious, especially the bakery. Coffee is ok. Salad and bread are the best
Chan T — Google review
Came on a Saturday morning around 11:00 am. There was already a line and the staff said it would be around a 20 minute wait for a party of 2. It ended up taking closer to 30. You order from the register and there’s separate ones for the bakery side and food. We ordered the jerk chicken bagel and the eggs Benedict toast. The toast was delicious, and the bagel was also solid. A little pricey but it’s a nice ambiance and good location if you’re around Roppongi hills. Also got a sourdough to go, which was delicious.

The service attitude is bad: the ordering flow was so strange, you have to walk against the flow to check the pastry section after taking the number in another entry. After waiting a while to get a table, I have to walk back to make the order AND the clerk asked me serval times if I have a seat to dine in. I showed her my number ticket and told her I already have one table, then she seemed not believing me and asked me to point out where exactly my seat was. I was traveling solo, how can I put my purse in the outside table and walk back inside to make the order?! Of course I have to carry my purse around, and that does not mean that I don’t have a seat, especially I already told her many times that I already have one seat! Back to the croissant: just average. Crispy but not airy. The dark rum latte is good.

I'm not a person to actually eat breakfast outside but with my friends we decided on giving this place a try and I was pleasantly surprised! I got the yuzu lemonade and the texan sandwich, which tasted amazing with its sauce. The staff were able to communicate in English, one even being fluent as one of my friends doesn't speak any Japanese at all. The only part that broke our hearts was to not be able to pay seperately! But other than that everything was awesome ! Thank you!

I arrived just after 2 PM, and there was no wait; there was only one other customer in the shop. The bread selection seemed a little limited. It wasn't exactly complete, but there was still plenty left. ◆What I ordered Black bean bread Cinnamon roll I bought the black bean bread because it was rare. This bread is packed with black beans in a slightly sweet pumpkin dough. The black beans have a strong sweetness and are very delicious. If you see it, I highly recommend trying it. The cinnamon roll has a softer dough than a Danish pastry. It's not overly sweet, but rather subtly sweet with a strong cinnamon aroma. This bakery makes the most of the ingredients to create a gentle flavor. They offer a wide variety of simple breads, all of which are delicious thanks to their solid ingredients. The food was good and affordable. I particularly liked the green tea lemonade. It’s a really chill place to get some work done. They have a lot of space and outlets. It’s also a very clean place. In terms of the staff—they were perfectly pleasant to us. You order and pay for your food and then they bring it to your table. Great savoury pastries: the bacon and jalapeno bun is fab, and even better is the bacon epi - constructed like buds on a branch. Service was slow and not very friendly, but the food was very good. If you aren't in a rush, it's a decent spot for a date. I came because of the positive reviews but I likely wouldn't come regularly for the poor service. I'm sure they could use more staff so that one person isn't doing so much at once, so I blame management, not the front end worker.

Passed by this bakery one morning so I stopped to grab a quick bite. The croissants were just average comparing to other Japanese bakery. The cheesy hotdog was too salty to my liking, but my friend said it's okay. If you'd like to sit at the window bar, each person has to buy a drink. No sharing. I wouldn't mind if their drinks weren't so pricey and didn't even taste as good as the vending machines stuff. I saw some reviews about bad service and thought it's Japan it can't be that bad. But how wrong. The cashier was less friendly than the worst wait staff I've encountered in Toronto. With average food, pricey drinks and unfriendly service, I'll only recommend this place to people I wanna unfriend.

We went here for breakfast because hardly anything opens for breakfast in Ebisu. We had the french toast which was super eggy and not pleasant to eat, I could not even taste any of the bread. Edit: I came again for the grill.cheese french toast. It was really yummy but I had to come early as this menu item is sold out in less than an hour. Pistachio bread was very good.

A very trendy place with fresh and modern design and atmosphere. You should stop be here for a quick drink or bites when in Shibuya. This place is not only a restaurant but also a bar, the reception of a hotel, a club in the evening and it also has exhibitions time to time.

Had the breakfast buffet and main. It was just okay and not amazing. The bread especially the bread slices were good but other than that it was just alright. Not a big selection of bread as well.

I’ve tried the cheesecake and the apple pie, definitively not the best but the place is very well designed with a nice environment. I like the counter next to the window, it brings sunlight and distraction from the street

We arrived here at 1000hr for the breakfast and bakery buffet. Paid about ¥3500 for 2 which is extremely expensive considering they do not replenish the bakery buffet section when items are finished for the day. Specifically we have to ask twice why the chocolate scones are not replenish and they said out of stock for the day. However at he counter where individual items are chargeable and sold separately, there are chocolate scones for sales. We find it’s very strange and weird when the item in the bakery buffet is out of stock and yet it’s available for purchase at another counter when the buffet ends at 1100hr! Upon approaching the staff 3rd time. Asking why it’s available for sales and not available in bakery buffet. A kind lady staff decided to offer me 2 scones. We accepted it reluctantly but I guess it’s one of the unique Japanese culture. Initially we plan to stay at this hotel Kor and Trunk hotel on our next trip to enjoy their unique interior deco and service (we are at home Muji Ginza this time) but after this weird experience, we will avoid this hotel from now on. 😔😔😔

Sometimes the cover promise more than the content. This may be an award winning design but...3 items on the menu? An egg sandwich. A spagghetti. A pudding. In the middle they have 2 types of croissants and 1 sandwich. You should see the size of their kitchen....I mean what for? Its honestly ridiculous. Then they serve water in real glasses but the tea I ordered was served in a plastic cup...while.i sit in the restaurant. Get real

Happy to charge us 400 yen for coffee when there was free coffee at the buffet we were paying for. We considered it a foreigner tax. Coffee was terrible, too. I watched in horror as the person arranging the breads sneezed all over the platter.

This is a great casual lunch/dinner spot in Shibuya. Lunch sets well-priced, and the a la carte dinner is reasonable, too. Modern decor but music at a volume you can actually talk at. Teriyaki burger and koe ramen were both good. Would definitely come back.

Bakery
Pain des Philosophes is a renowned French bakery located in the Shinjuku area, offering a wide selection of artisanal bread and pastries. Despite its distance from the Shinjuku station, it's worth the visit for its delicious crispy croissants and baguettes. Customers praise the quality of their bread, with some even comparing it to authentic French bakeries. The staff are friendly and welcoming, adding to the overall pleasant experience.
The smell emanating from this bakery instantly attracted me into the bakery, the smell of freshly baked pastry in the morning warms the soul. Before even the bakery is open there is a queue already awaiting either by tourists or locals before going on their daily lives. The pastry here is very good. Bought their Asama loaf and croissant. The croissant is buttery on the inside, soft and fluffy, the outer is flaky and crispy. The Asama loaf is also very flavourful. Can be eaten plain and just by toasting it.

I believe the baguette was filled with furikake. It was also somewhat soft, almost like a croissant. You can see in the video how it moves after the bite—really interesting! I’m curious to know how it’s made. Absolutely delicious!

A small bakery with highest quality of breads you could find. It's always queue outside. Their baguette is the best one I ever tried.
Taha H — Google review
This place is so good! My only favorite bakery in Shinjuku, Tokyo so far! It’s a small cute bakery and people always are queuing in front of it. Make sure you get there before 11 or 12, otherwise there’s nothing much left! The staff is super friendly and most of them know enough English. The bread, any kind that I get, always amazes me! They are so creative on baking breads. You can find sourdough with nuts or fruits, croissants 🥐, baguettes 🥖, also some Japanese style bread.
S D — Google review
Literally, the best croissant in Tokyo. It's a small boulangerie with no place to sit in but you will have the best experience with croissants, baguettes, pain au chocolat, etc. Must visit in Kagurazaka if you are a bread lover.

Summer of 2025. Last weekend of June. We came to a university town area. Wonder through the narrow alleys with local tiny shops… through a small playground. And finally I arrived at this shop opposite a temple. The queue might be 10-15min. So decide in your brain first so that you won’t haul the rest of the world. We knew exactly what we wanted as I’ve watched the YouTube video many a times. The staff packed each bread in brown paper bags. We left in a jiffy. I’m from Singapore and managed to save the Asama bread for 2 days and flew home. I’m saving them in slices in my freezer now. It has a combo texture of a cake & a bread. Very interesting. As for the smaller breads such as croissants, it’s best to eat it immediately at the park or you’ll need to heat it up to enjoy the hard work of the bakers. I will visit again soonest when I visit my mil again. Until then keep it up!

My wife and I went to this lovely bakery store the first time. We were recommended by our French collègue about this place. We ordered their croissant along with other nice stuffs. We really loved it, especially their croissant, it’s the best I had eaten in Tokyo so far. It reminded me some of the best croissants I had in Montreal. We went to nearby park to eat and went back again to buy more croissant. Would definitely revisit again.

I'm happy to recommend this wonderful bakery! It's the only one I've found in Tokyo that makes bread worthy of a real French bakery. The staff are pleasant and smiling, and so far I've never been disappointed. The breads are delicious, especially the "Rustique" buns. What's more, there's a wide selection of breads and some viennese pastries. It's a real pleasure to make the trek each morning before my classes to come and savor this delicious bread. Merci beaucoup, et continuez ainsi !

The Melonpan Factory is a must-visit for melon pan enthusiasts. Despite its name, this Japanese bakery's specialty doesn't actually contain melons; it's named after the fruit due to its appearance. The shop offers around 6-7 different types of melon pan daily, including options like chocolate and milk tea flavors. While the location may be a bit out of the way for some, visitors rave about the quick and easy service and recommend trying their croissants as well.
Location may be out of the way for most but as a melon bread fan it is a must visit shop. Service was quick and easy. The Milktea Melon bread is just fantastic.

(Translated by Google) I've been there many times because I can eat delicious sweet potato pie for only 100 yen, but the attitude of the female staff is the worst. The male owner who was there when I went there before? The clerk? He was a very friendly person, which was nice, but he was gone every time. Is it normal to not be able to say "thank you" at the end? By the way, even if you go there at 10 o'clock, they only sell one type of melon bread. Sweet potato pie seems to be ready at 12 o'clock, so it's late and I won't come unless I'm nearby. I like sweet potato pie because it's cost-effective and tastes great. I'm hesitant to go there because the staff's attitude is terrible. Beaver Bread is a cozy bakery located in Higashi Nihonbashi, offering a variety of homemade pastries and artisanal bread. Despite its small size, the bakery boasts an abundant selection of Japanese-inspired treats such as melonpan, naporipan, ciabatta, caneles, and chunky sausage subs. The consistent queue outside the bakery attests to the high quality of its offerings. Visitors are recommended to arrive early to have their pick from the diverse selection.
Very great bakery, highly recommended trying their freshly baked walnut bread rolls. They have attention to detail and really make all their baked goods with lots of love and care. You can pick up your rolls and sweets with some tongs and put them on your tablet. Afterwards you go to the checkout with the selection. Went to this bakery twice when I was in Tokyo. Was amazing!

Overall, it's just satisfactory, but it's not worth the long wait in my opinion, especially if you're not nearby. Traveling specifically for this shop might not be that worth it. The quality of the bread can be inconsistent, depending on which type you choose. I visited twice and bought 6 pieces in total. 1 of them (ie the jalapeno one) is very good , another 3 are just okay. 3 of them are quite disappointing in my opinion including the cake, the mentaiko (めんたいこ) one and the pistachio one.

I regret only one thing - that we found this place that late and that we cannot repeat the visit. The place is very cute and offers a great variety of snacks. We selected 5 different ones and all of them were just perfect. I strongly recommend!!!!

Loved the spicy nut scone. The heat left a great taste. A bit on the drier side, best warmed up to moisten it I think. The sourdough and white bread were good, white bread especially - dense and with a firm bite, great for sandwiches. Deifnitely want to toast both. Cornbread is savory, would be perfect with more butter or some sweet spread. Cornbread and the not overly sweet scone seem worth going out of the way for. Also a bunch of other good looking things here even at 4pm. Also really nice looking pricy jams, I'll have to try in the future!

We went to bakeries all over Japan - ones that had a lot of hype and long lines - but Chez Kazama is better than all of them. Kazama is a true master pastry chef. The croissants are like what you would find at the best bakery in Paris. The pastry is so light and flaky, it melts in your mouth. Nem Coffee & Espresso is a charming spot with an artsy and chic atmosphere, perfect for enjoying light snacks and hot beverages. Tucked away in a quiet alley south of the Arisugawa-no-miya Memorial Park in Tokyo, this hidden gem feels like a visit to someone's home. The coffee shop occupies the ground floor of a lovingly restored old house, where the owners, a couple who reside upstairs, have created a welcoming space since opening in 2016.
Adorable cafe. They have many signs stating not to take photos, which I love. The bathroom is quite sizable, and the coffee and treats are delicious. I had the Vanilla Panna Cotta, and it was delightful. There is not a lot of room, so if your party is more than 4 or 5, you will likely be split up or wait a while.

Beautiful little cafe and they know it. For specialty coffee the price is not bad. My ethiopian cup was so sour I thought I was chewing on a sour apple candy. Onigily Cafe 中目黒店 is a trendy and airy cafe located near Nakameguro Station, specializing in Japanese soul food - onigiri. The menu offers a wide variety of onigiri and other food options, perfect for breakfast or lunch. The rice used for their rice balls is premium quality from Nagano prefecture. Despite being an underrated gem, it's popular among locals with its reasonably priced dine-in or take-out sets.
One of those places that don't get mentioned much in tourist books or appear in tourist Vlogs and I'm glad that's the case because this place is such an underrated gem. Most of the customers were locals and there was no English menu. The onigiri balls are huge and tasty while the side dishes are well made. Half the selection were gone when we arrived around 1pm so go early if possible.
Eugene T — Google review
My wife and I stopped in for lunch. We both ordered a set meal. We were so happy. The rice balls, which are obviously their specialty, were some of the best I've ever had. Warm soft rice, just sticky enough to hold its shape as you bite into it, but not starchy. The fillings were next-level tasty. Bold and bright! There was a delicious crisp and fresh salad with tomatoes that were surprisingly delicious, considering they looked a little pale. The spicy cucumber salad was crunchy with light chili spice and not too much vinegar. The potato salad was rich and creamy, with nice strands of sweet onion. We tried both the karaage and the braised pork belly. I was impressed with both. These are normally fatty, heavy foods, but this preparation was light and airy. The flavors weren't too concentrated. The chicken was seasoned enough for taste without going overboard--so many karaages are over seasoned and too salty. The pork also had a nice light gelatinous sauce that wasn't at all greasy. The miso soup didn't fail to impress me either. It had lots of vegetables and wakame, plenty of tofu chunks, and the broth had complex flavor that was reserved, but not bland. The atmosphere is nice, but busy. And the service is direct and to the point, down to business with little friendly banter. Don't hesitate to try this place.

Food was good. Selections of Onigiri was already lacking at 13:00. Fried chicken was super tasty. Shogayaki was ok. Menu was written on the wall in Japanese. Didn’t see an English menu , staff was friendly. Be prepared to point or use some Japanese.

I tried to dine in last year but it was too late because they had just taken the last order (2:30). I went in at 2:40. So this time I made sure that I allowed myself enough time. Ordered Karaage Lunch Set. The simple white rice onigiri was very tasty. (I was not sure if I was supposed to eat by hands or chopsticks.) Karaage was fresh fried and I loved that. Very basic Japanese home cooking. Cute interior. The lady could have explained to me that it was self serve style. You wait for your number to be called and you put away your tray. I would like to try Youbari Set next time.

I absolutely loved the vibes of this place 🧘‍♀️ I was quite shocked with how spacious this cafe is and sitting outdoors on days with good weather is highly recommended! But the inside is just as nice too since it looks like a super cute and modern warehouse 🤩 I ordered the iced cafe latte and an egg tart. The latte was delicious and leans toward the bitter side. The egg start was 5/5 stars for me if you can only get one thing on the menu please let it be the egg tarts, you won't regret it 😭🙏 I honestly wasn't expecting much from the egg tart but as I'm writing this review I wish I took a few to go but that's ok since it just gives me an excuse to go back 😆 Btw, the egg tart pairs really well with the coffee (in case you needed more reasons to taste it lol). Customer service was also pretty good since the staff seemed quite friendly. The beans are roasted in house and if you have any questions about them there are staff members who can help you 😊

Great coffee space among an expansive space. Rare in Tokyo. The prices are on the high side but expected from the area. Flat white was 600 yen. Brownies 400 yen. Both are so-so - coffee taste was weak and the brownies was more cakey then fudgey. I think their main draw really is the space. There is a free wifi by the city. And when I came here at 1030am on a Friday there are plenty of seating. However there is no power point for charging

OCT 2024 The coffee shop is located in a shared green space; inside there are plenty of seats but was very busy when I visited so I decided to order a cold brew for takeout. The cold brew was mild and refreshing, probably a light or medium roast; pretty good coffee.

I was planning to come here for a very long time and finally got the chance. The concept of putting together a couple of shops around with the open space in the middle is actually interesting. This coffeeshop itself has its own space, which is what it used to be a warehouse, but well placed and with live music (without becoming a nightclub). The coffee was good and wanted to try some sweets but most of them were sold out.

Wonderful find. A lot of place so it was easy to get a table. There are a few power outlets in case you need to charge. The coffee is excellent, really well balanced and the bake shop has delectable treats. I enjoyed the lemon cake and scone. If you have children there is an area they can run around outside.

I came here on a rainy day so there weren't many people. I was served quickly and the staffs were very helpful. Their cream cheese scone was lovely. Located just a short walk from Hiroo Station in Tokyo, Bartizan Bread Factory is a small but stylish bakery that specializes in European-style sourdough bread. Their signature "Bartizan Sourdough" is made using only flour, water, and salt, with domestically sourced ingredients. The bakery takes pride in offering healthier alternatives to traditional processed bread, with options free from artificial ingredients, trans-fats, and sugar.
I missed a good bread in my 3 weeks in Japan, so I searched for a good bakery and this was simply the best. The bread was delicious, crust was perfect, texture was perfect and the butter&olive oil are good quality. Wouldn’t necessarily recommend the coffee, but if you’re not picky, could work. Staff is great and they have a diverse choice of baked products.

I came here because they sell sourdough bread and I’ve been on a mission to find the best in Tokyo. They have several sourdough options which was a nice touch, with a whole host of other breads to choose from. I got the baguette sliced plus just a regular sourdough bread slice, which was a bit unique and worth trying. Both were delicious and I’d go back for not only those but for the other varieties as well. Staff were great and service fast.

My first time buying sour bread in Tokyo. I came all the way from Adachi because of the good reviews. I haven't eaten them yet, and i plan to freeze some. However i had the blueberry cream cheese for dine in. It was really fulfilling and one is enough for me. The older male staff was really kind. Really good atmosphere and service. Only cashless!
JJ — Google review
Definitely one of the best bakeries in the area, and with amazing service. The choice is not as large as larger bakeries- which to me is a good thing. They specialize in rye breads and sourdough and they excel at it. The hot sandwiches using their ciabatta is excellent. The blueberry cream cheese was my favorite.

As a Google reviewer I count on Google review to identify new restaurants and places to visit especially while travelling. This bakery has a 4.8 Google review that’s very reassuring. As it is not close to subway station, I took a 40-min walk from my hotel. This bakery is truly a hidden gem. Decoration of the bakery is very pretty and offers a very comforting ambiance. Great music. All bakery are pre-packed for easy selection with name tags to indicate the ingredients. Some variety of the bread offer half or even quarter size! They are very soft and fresh. The store has some seatings to allow eat in. Staff are very friendly and patient to allow me to take photos. I bought a few items and they offer me three big slices of sour dough bread for free! They definitely live up to the 5 stars rating! Highly recommend.

This place deserves 5 stars. It’s really clean inside. You feel so welcomed. The morning staff especially is always helpful and pleasant. They play nice music. I usually arrive 7:55 am and I know they open at 8:00 am but she would let me in. I come here before going to work. Their bread is really delicious and I think it’s now my favorite bread shop in Tokyo. I’m sure that I’ll continue supporting them. Thank you for the delicious bread.

Best sourdough I’ve ever tasted. Big fan of the ham and cheese sandwich and my daughter and I give the corn soup a 10 / 10! Very friendly owner and staff and great vibes in the store with relaxing music playing gently.

World Breakfast Allday is a cozy restaurant that has been serving breakfast from around the world all day for the past 10 years. The owner, Ken Kimura, was inspired by his experiences at a guest house and wanted to recreate the diverse breakfast scenarios he encountered. The cafe changes its menu every two months to focus on traditional breakfasts from specific countries, offering an ever-changing array of international dishes and beverages.
This is such an amazing idea for a restaurant, and it was executed perfectly. It is such a cozy atmosphere and the food was delicious. The portions are also very generous. We got the breakfast from Taiwan and Georgia. They had a handout that told you all about the meal and the cultural context. It was fantastic. We got there about 15 minutes before it opened and were first in line. I would recommend getting there early, as a line formed quick, and there are not many seats.
Elizabeth B — Google review
Such a cool restaurant concept! Bringing together different cultures through cuisine is a beautiful experience and Taste The World executes it perfectly. They rotate international dishes and always offer American, English, and Taiwanese breakfasts, as well as a huge variety of international beverages and side dishes. They were sold out of the Uzbek breakfast by late morning (11:30), so if you want to try the rotating main dish, you should arrive early. We had the English breakfast, churros, paxlava (Uzbek dessert), Cola Cao, and ginger chai tea. All delicious and incredibly fresh tasting! On a late Monday morning, we waited about 30 minutes for a table but food arrived promptly after being seated. The staff was all very friendly and helpful, answering any questions we had and even making adjustments to the meal. I highly recommend enjoying a meal here as your tastebuds will be teleported to the totally unique culinary flavors of a special country. We look forward to eating here again during our next trip to Japan!

We enjoyed a hearty breakfast at this cafe in Ginza. We were able to walk in on a weekday soon after they opened. The restaurant is small and only has 2 tables (one being large so you may be sitting next to a stranger). They have 3 permanent breakfast options (English, American and Thai) and then one rotating menu. I was lucky enough to try the Turkish breakfast which was excellent! I was a little skeptical as I haven’t had that before but it was very good. I ate every bite!
Elaine B — Google review
The price for what you get is not worth it in my opinion. The food is nothing special and the place is super tiny! We got the American breakfast. The pancakes were paper thin, the pancakes were pretty small and we barely got any breakfast potatoes. We paid around $35 dollars for two meals and two coffees. It might look like a big plate but the plates are rather small. The pancakes and coffee had good flavor. We were satisfied but not full. If you’re hungry this might not be the place to go. The staff were nice and courteous. We felt rushed because there’s very limited space and the line outside had grown. Wouldn’t come again.

Nice little restaurant, 12 seats. We got the Lithuania & Taiwan breakfasts. Very good experience, recommended if you want to try something different/unique.

Amazing breakfast! You know it’s good when a line forms before opening, I chose the Uzbekistan breakfast. Everything is well prepared to perfection. Wonderful ingredients, flavor and presentation. It is worth the wait! Thank you
Raphael T — Google review
Great brunch place that offer international food and it introduces new countries every few months. The place is very small so expect to wait to get a seat especially a big group. I recommend the American with scrambled very tasty and Turkish breakfast.
Ahmad A — Google review
We are a family of 4 (two adults, two kids). We came here on a Saturday morning. I waited in line at 8:59 and got in at 9:57. Practically an hour wait, because we wanted to sit together. We were offered if we’d like to sit separately, in which case we could have been sat about 5 minutes earlier. There was a sign at the table to keep your meal to within 90 minutes during busy periods. Food arrived quickly: the first plate arrived within 5 minutes of us sitting down. 🍽️ Turkish Breakfast: we were especially excited to have menemen and borek. If you’ve tried the real deal in Turkey or any Turkish breakfast place in Europe, you will probably be disappointed like us. If your tastebuds have not been spoiled by authentic Turkish food, this is a good place for “exploring new cultures” as other reviews mentioned. 🍽️ Taiwanese Breakfast: the purple rice fantwan was tasty (the youtiao inside could have been fresher). The soy milk soup (shen doujiang) was excellent. Dan bing (egg cake) had cheese which was a surprise twist. Overall, I won’t be sad to have this meal again, which is reminiscent of our month in Taipei in February. 🍨 Churros: good fresh churros, good chocolate sauce. 🥤 Turkish coffee and Limonata were the surprise hits! Both were excellent. Our empty plates were cleared promptly. We were out by 10:26 as per the receipt. We spent 30 mins in the store. While waiting outside, we saw customers who sat around chatting after their meal (their empty dishes weren’t cleared promptly) despite the queue outside extending to the end of the block. Maybe they had not reached their 90 mins. Not sure what the customs is in Japan for sitting around while other people are standing in line outside. In my country, that’s called “taking the piss”.

Koffee Mameya Kakeru is a coffee shop in Tokyo's Kiyosumi-Shirakawa, known for its wide variety of beans and dedication to showcasing the multiple possibilities of the same coffee bean being interpreted into different kinds of drinks.
This was my favorite experience in Japan. I’m not much of a coffee drinker but my wife drinks it religiously. Thought it’d be fun to do a omakase tasting menu. I WAS RIGHT. The ambiance was amazing. Staff provided me insight to how each dish/drink was made and the thought process behind it. Made me really appreciate coffee! My wife got the seasonal tasting coffee menu, and I opted for the cocktail menu. Loved the setup and would recommend this omakase experience to anyone.
Ricky L — Google review
Reservation only. Been wanting to come here for awhile. Unfortunately, it rained on the day we went which made it difficult, but was well worth it. We got there early, but they didn’t seat us until our time. Waiting area has no seating. I would expect a place of this caliber to have something for you to do while you wait. Each reservation gets a dedicated server/barista so your mileage will vary. Ours was great. She made it so fun and enjoyable. Her English was good for us to enjoy the time together. A couple others joined in when we had something fun to share. They all wear lab coats that make it seem very polished and serious, but they are all friendly people. You can order individual cups of coffee of which they have a wide range of beans prepared as a pour over. Much like their other location in Ometesando. The highlight here though is their course menu. They have three. One seasonal coffee, one classic coffee, and one cocktail menu. We got their seasonal and it did not disappoint. It’s pricey, so if you’re looking for value, it’s not the place. If you’re looking for an experience, it’s a great way to spend a few hours. Awesome place to take a date who likes coffee. I love coffee, so I ordered their most expensive bean as an additional order and they were shocked. They don’t sell a lot of it because it’s about $40 a cup. Only one of the baristas were allowed to do the pour so it was fun going through the whole experience. The coffee was also great, though I probably wouldn’t be drinking it on the regular. Awesome time, and thankful for the wonderful staff who made it a great experience.
James H — Google review
Absolutely unique and incredible way to experience coffee. Delicious. Our barista/scientist was knowledgeable and kind, and made the best cups of coffee I've ever had. The food pairings for the omakase were also unique and delicious.
Johnny A — Google review
This is not your normal coffee shop. They call it “experience store” and it is for good reason. This is basically a coffee tasting experience where they bring about 4-5 types of making the coffee, with a pairing of a small dish to go with it. They will also explain each process well in English, along the notes and the idea behind the companion dish. Reservations are definitely needed, as they have specific timeslots that need to be adhered to.
Kenny C — Google review
Great experience buying coffee. Please remember that you have to pay for the cup of coffee you get to try. Barrista wear lab coats and are quite professional. They do ask for your preferences and they help you narrow down the different types of coffee’s you should try. Get there early because there is always a line and they can only help three costumers at a time.
Ileana T — Google review
This coffee tasting/omakase experiences was one of our favorite activities! My wife and I are absolute coffee addic--lovers I mean, and getting to do a fancy coffee tasting as opposed to the normal alcohol ones was such a treat. They have several sets to choose from. The barista we had was super nice and knowledgeable, telling us about every type of bean he was preparing for us, as well as about the different styles of preparation. Each drink was paired with a specific bite of food that either enhanced the drink, or the drink enhanced the food. These are just tastings by the way, so don't come here hungry and ready for an entire meal. We bought several bags of coffee as souvenirs to brew at home, of which they tell you the ideal way to grind and brew it, with directions written down and a tiny sample bag of how coarse/fine the beans should be ground. Definitely recommended if you are a coffee aficionado like us!
Khoa N — Google review
This coffee experience was on another level! The coffee scientists have mastered every detail, from flavor to pairings. Definitely something I’d do again when I’m back in Japan. They also have dairy free tasting course!!
Isaac C — Google review
Make sure you reserve in advance. It’s a beautiful setting in a quiet neighbourhood. The baristas were lovely and talked us through each course of the tasting menu which was super interesting and fun, but I’d only do it if you actually like coffee (maybe that’s obvious sorry). Otherwise there is an à la carte menu to choose from. Very relaxing environment. Great for the coffee fans!

Kopikalyan is a trendy cafe originating from Indonesia, known for its regional coffee beans and traditional drink selections. The cafe's first overseas branch in Tokyo offers Indonesian coffee beans to the city's caffeine enthusiasts. With a prime location in Harajuku, the spacious cafe features pastel-accented interiors and directly sourced arabica beans processed at Kopikalyan's roastery in Indonesia.
Loved the iced Kopikalyan. Been to this place to dine 3 times during my stay in Tokyo in April 2025. The cakes and fries are very good & delicious 😋 The atmosphere and ambience of the shop is chill and relaxing 😌 Hopefully they have it more in other parts of South-East Asia too beside Indonesia
Muzhafar S — Google review
They specialized in Indonesian coffee. The coffee had a rich, deep aroma with earthy undertones characteristic of Indonesian beans. It delivered a clean cup with a medium body and low acidity. The warm, round black cup enhanced the experience with its comforting weight in the hand. The ice cream was a simple yet delightful pairing, creamy vanilla with a smooth texture and just the right amount of sweetness. It was served with a touch of crumble and crisp wafer for extra contrast in texture, making it a nice dessert option😍
Yasuやす — Google review
Hidden in plain sight just a short walk from the busy Omotesando shopping streets, Kopikalyan is an Indonesian coffee chain bringing its unique flavors to Tokyo. The café has a clean, modern vibe and can get quite busy on weekends, so we recommend stopping by on a weekday if you want a calmer experience. The drinks were solid, but what really impressed us was the food. We tried their chicken sandwich, which had a wonderful curry flavor, and for the first time, we had tempeh—paired with mayonnaise, it worked surprisingly well. They also sell some original goods here if you’re looking to take something home. The staff wasn’t particularly friendly, but it wasn’t enough to dampen the overall experience. If you’re curious about trying a new coffee chain with roots outside Japan, Kopikalyan Omotesando is worth adding to your café list.

Cool, comfortable place, quick service, and great coffee. What more could you ask for? For me, it would be Indonesian coffee beans. The beans they bring have unique flavours you might not find in other specialty coffee shops. Try the Argopuro beans, with a grape-like, slightly acidic start and a long, sweet aftertaste.
Spinning T — Google review
It is a good place to hang out, espescially in the morning, not many people go there You can choose the place wherewver you are convinience. The place has a good vibes, which comfy when you spend your time chitchat with your partner or friends. It excellent place for that.. However, in lunch time or after 4pm, it is difficult to have a place inside, sometimes you could wait for long hour. The place also has a nice and clean bathroom with good prayer room for moslem. The food needs to be improved; the coffee is just good, there is no added value inside or something delicious, and the toast with ice cream is plain. It is something that needs to be upgraded. But the good thing is that all food is halal. I asked the maid twice, and they replied, “Of course, we are halal.” The maid also could speak english. So it is convenient to request something from the store. It is a good place in the middle of crowded Shibuya. I hope they become better day by day.q

Didn’t have a chance to try many varieties- but the olive rustic bread stick was superb! If you visit the bakery and order two different breakfast plates, you basically enjoy baguette, croissant and sourdough as well as the plentiful breakfast proteins. Very good service too!

We had the pastrami sandwich, which was pretty good. Wish it had cheese but that’s my personal preference. But special mention of the plain croissant!!! So delicious & was still warm from the oven so they keep making them throughout the day as we got in at midday. Every mouthful you could feel and taste the butter entering your mouth. Service basic but warm & atmosphere/layout is similar to a Starbucks Coffee was actually alright which surprised me.

Stopped by Princi after browsing around Tsutaya and it’s such a pretty spot. The croissants were pretty good, fresh & buttery, though not something I’d rave about. Wonderful produce from this bakery. We bought a baguette for breakfast and two croissants: an almond and raspberry one. Would definitely recommend the almond croissant and baguette.

We tried the pistachio cornet and chocolate cornet. Definitely try the pistachio cornet cause it was amazing. I still think about that pistachio cornet. Just melt in your mouth and has a crunchy exterior that is not overly sweet. If I could come back, I would come slightly hungry and try more desserts from this place.
Helen T — Google review
The almond kouign amann was so good, like a hybrid cookie. Would highly recommend this place. It’s in the food show area, among other baked goods. There weren’t that many options when I went around 5-6pm.
K H — Google review
After a big sushi set meal, I was craving something sweet and crunchy, so we swung by this small bakery to check out the selections. The milk cornet, their #2 seller, was extraordinary, with a divine crunch to the pastry where you can feel every layer as you bite down. The light and sweet filling was quite firm, so it held its own against the formidable exterior. The raspberry croffle was similarly excellent, with a chewy pastry texture and a sparkling, juicy filling - it looked like a culinary treasure and tasted like one as well. Special mention to the service, as the shop attendants were very kind and joyous, making the food even easier to love.

This bakery does an exceptional pastry called the Pistachio Cornet. It's a horn shaped buttery and flaky puff pastry chock full of luscious pistachio cream. The magnificent crunch and creamy pistachio filling made for quite a delightful experience. Highly recommend texture junkies with a sweet tooth to give it a shot.

Perfect for your morning pastries and coffee, reasonably priced. There is some nice seating inside, select your pastries and order your coffee, sit and enjoy. Location-wise this is situated opposite Shibuya crossing and Shibuya JR station - super convenient. There is a wide selection of pastries, breads & cakes available - my family ate here approx 4-5 times when travelling in Japan, I stayed at the hotel above the ‘food-show’. We preferred eating here instead of the hotel breakfast ( mainly because I feel they are over-priced and the kids don’t eat huge breakfast’s). We also found it cheaper. For a family of 4 (2 adults / 2 kids) we would spend approx 3200 yen (approx $33) for a selection of 7-8 pastries to share, 2 mango juices for the kids and 2 coffees for the adults - I reckon that’s pretty good value when compared to 7000 yen for the hotel breakfast)
Graeme M — Google review
Visit this place 3 times. Very friendly staff and great experience. Fantastic pastry. I am very impress when the staff bring out freshly baked pastry. He remove the old ones and put the fresh one. He took the old pastry to the back kitchen to throw. That is pretty impressive. What typical bakery do is they will put the old pastry in front and fresh pastry at the rear. So as to sell the old pastry first. Really a must visit when you go shibuya.
