Seriously delicious. My husband and I came two days in a row and tried 8 different items across our visits— the cardamom bun, milk bread, seeded rye roll (with butter and cheese), pear frangepane, vanilla bun, almond pastry, princess cake, apple tart with vanilla cream. My top picks were the cardamom bun, frangepane, and the vanilla bun. However, I don’t think there are any bad options here. Everything was top quality. One of the best bakeries I’ve ever been to. Definitely worth a visit (or a few)!

What a bakery! Lovely place in Osterbro, 10'~15' by bike from the city center. You can takeout or eat on one of the outdoor tables near the entrance. Probably the best bakery I've ever been to. The apple tart is really outstanding if you're lucky enough to find it. A must visit if you're a foodie in CPH! Visited in Sep. '25.

Visited around 1 pm on a weekday. There was quite a long line reaching out to the street, and I waited about 30 minutes. There were a few empty outdoor tables, so you can grab a seat while waiting in line. I bought the cardamom roll, almond croissant, and milk bun — all were delicious, but a bit too sweet for my taste.

Very rare that the food actually lives up the level virality and hype that this bakery has received! The cardamom bun easily exceeds the expectations! So delicious! It’s baked consistently throughout the day so it’s always fresh no matter when you get it. What makes delicious is that there is cardamom and syrup laced in inside each crevice of the knot without being too sweet at all. It’s incredibly moist. It’s kept its price consistent over the years even though there’s lines all day! Absolutely a world class bakery Tip: visit in the afternoon to avoid the large queues. The best bakery in Copenhagen and this is coming from someone who doesn't have sweet tooth. 100% get the cardamom bun otherwise you'll regret leaving without it. There is a cute park close by with benches, would recommend sitting there instead of trying to find space in their small front porch.

The hype is real. One of the longest lines I've seen and been in to get into a bakery in a while. I got the brioche bun that came with apples. It was amazing. Blew me away. I also got a small box of shortbread cookies to go and a milk bun. Worth waiting line or getting up extra early and beating the crowds. Nice neighborhood to walk around afterwards. The new port neighborhood is down the street from this bakery.

This place comes with a big reputation and it did not disappoint. As an ex baker who has eaten more than his fair share of pastries I feel highly qualified to pass on my recommendation. We visited on a Sunday morning so naturally the place was very busy. The line was out of the shop and down the road but we were pleasantly surprised by how quickly we got to the counter. I had already chosen what o was going to have before we arrived. We went for tow of the most popular items made here, the chocolate croissant and the cube croissant filled with pistachio cream. I reluctantly agreed to share my croissant with Gill, a decision I regretted after just one bite. Both pastries were delicious, I’d go back there anytime that I find myself in Copenhagen again and would highly recommended trying them if you are in town. I ordered a coffee almost as an after thought but was blown away with how good it was. By far the best coffee that I had in Copenhagen and worth going there just for that to be honest. The staff were super friendly and clearly enjoy working there. Overall a very good experience, keep up the good work guys.

Went for a light lunch, and the queue was not that long as we have been wanting to try the Cube croissant which was not available in other branches and it did not disappoint. It was delicious. Coffee was also great. Too bad the beans they are selling are a bit expensive. We also liked the fact that they have a tap for still and sparkling water for free. Highly recommend this branch!

So so good like pretty expensive but honestly worth it and the service was excellent plus loved the vibe of the place. This chocolate caramel cube croissant was divine. I went late and most things were sold out but I asked the server for their recommendation and he suggested this seasonal pastry (got the last one) and honestly it was delectable.

Visited around 10 a.m. on a weekday — the shop was pretty busy inside but there were open seats outside. There was a short line at the counter, but it was fine since I could take my time choosing pastries. Tried the plain croissant and the pistachio cube croissant, and both were super tasty! Not overly sweet or oily like many other places. Really nice spot!

We lived nearby and went there almost every morning! Pastries are delicious. I wasn’t a big fan of their coffee as to me it is too much on the cacao side. But their other drinks were nice. Staff were always very kind and in a good mood. The special espresso soft serve in half croissant is a killer.

Very big and spacious Café with fresh breads and good coffee. I went for breakfast and got a latte and a breakfast plate which were both very good. I also sat and did work for another few hours and the environment was nice easy to focus in, but also lively.

i tried the marble slice cake and it was very expensive but it’s copenhagen so im not even surprised anymore. the chocolate coating was really hard, crunchy, and cold, and the marble cake inside was very dense too. the coating also had crunchy nuts in it (peanuts?), which was a nice touch. alongside the chocolate cream on top, it was a pretty sweet dessert.

I won’t come back here again once I travel Copenhagen. I can understand the hype because of the aesthetic vibe but it is a bakery cafe. That means the bread should be good. However, for me the taste was not amazing. Especially the sausage roll was awful. I wasn’t able to have a bite because of the unappetizing flavor. I would rather go to another bakery for better brunch and save time traveling. Most of the reason people come over this place is probably because of pictures. I also came here because of pictures on instagram, Pinterest even though it is very far away from the city center. However, while I was having a brunch here, I heard a staff yell at a customer who was taking a picture in front of other customers. At that moment many people came with professional cameras but they didn’t say anything but only to that asian woman. One of the staff yelled “do not take a picture, respect the privacy”. When I checked her camera, it was a very old digital camera. I mean, I can understand that staffs are sensitive about privacy. Then why don’t you wear a mask or ask all people not to take a picture?

What a vibe. The place is gorgeous, everything fits perfectly, sooo aesthetic🫶 baked goods are delicious, especially blomster bun (definitely a must try), classic bun with cheese and butter, and berliner were also amazing! It’s really cool that their menu changes often. In my opinion focaccia could have more toppings on top, wouldn’t really eat it again. Filter coffee was exceptionally good, the best I’ve ever tried.

Lille Bakery is probably my favorite spot in Copenhagen. It’s tucked away in a quiet area, which makes it feel like a little escape from the busier parts of the city. I went there after a morning run and it was the perfect way to start the day. The pastries are excellent, the rolls are simple but really well done, the berliner is soft and indulgent, and the spandauer has that perfect balance of flaky pastry and sweet filling. I also tried the mushroom roll, which was surprisingly good and a bit different from the usual options. The coffee is from Prolog, so you know it’s going to be solid. Some of my friends lean more toward Andersen & Maillard, and honestly you can’t go wrong with either, but I’m a little biased toward Lille. It just has this calm, welcoming vibe that makes you want to slow down and enjoy the morning.

We came here for brunch and good vibes. The atmosphere is great like we have seen in others' photos. However, the brunch and bakery is very simple. Coffee is too light for us. The only thing we like is Egg on rye while sausage roll and brunch plate (bread, butter and jam) are so so.

I was alone and as much as I wanted to try everything I stuck to the famous “not cinnamon” bun. Where they used local herbs instead of cinnamon it was flaky buttery and soft and they had the olive oil pumpkin cake. Both were amazing I wish I was with more people to order more and try all. DONT GO ALONE to try all the yummy goods

We went with three friends, and we never thought we'd eat such a delicious cake. It was the best thing I've had in Copenhagen. The cake melted in your mouth, and the cream was delicious. It's definitely worth trying 🤝🏻

Greeted upon arrival and quickly served. We ordered a croissant, chocolate chip cookies, a latte and a cold brew on ice. Service was friendly and helpful; suggested cold brew over the iced Americano I initially ordered. The cold brew was amazingly smooth. So, I'm glad I went with the suggestion. The croissant was not overly flaky, yet the crumb was beautiful and soft. The brown butter chocolate chip cookie was chewy with a good amount of chocolate and the perfect sprinkle of salt.

This is THE first place I went after I touched down and HAD to get the cardomom croissant. Giving it a 50/10 if I can, it’s THAT good that I had to pack 5 of it to bring home to share with my family and friends. Came back a few times afterwards and honestly the service there is top notch, coffee is amazing and just the ambience is great too! Can’t wait to be back!

The best Croissant (cardamom Croissant) I've had and i did have quite a lot of Croissants having traveled some 28 countries. I wanted to mention "one of the best" but im trying to remember how many were nicer than this one. The filter coffee was good. We also took a vanilla custurd pastry, Croissant & Tebirkes for the journey ahead and all of those were amazing. The place was cozy, the staff was humble and took time to give me recommendations I asked for

Hart Bageri is definitely worth a visit ! Loved the vibe of the place . the cardamom croissant was great, but the tomato feta & olive pastry was the real star. I’d happily come back again just for that 💙

It was totally worth the visit to this place. The cardamom croissant was really good. The location per se was alright because it used to be a meat packing district. But the food was something else. I've never had a tastier croissant. It was different and good.

This is a dessert lovers paradise. Pastries, cakes and more. They have so many to choose from. No wonder it gets very busy. The staff were so amazing and helpful in every way. The coffee was good and the cake was delicious. You will come back for more. Highly recommended 👍🏼

Probably the best hot chocolate I have ever had, and it came with a free refill! I was on a mission to find the best cardamom bun in Copenhagen, and the one I had at La Glace was my favourite. Lovely atmosphere, elegant yet friendly. Would be very happy to go back on my next visit!

Hmm cakes are disappointing. They are too sweet for my liking. The only nice touch was the signature cake’s puff (on the side, looking like golden ball) that was coated with layer of caramelised sugar - it provided a crispy texture before you bite into the soft puff. I had the best decadent hot chocolate drink in Melbourne, coco black. So this is just average liquidy drink. The other chocolate toffee pastry was just way too sweet to finish. As what some others have shared, one would expect more for the high price. This didn’t hit the spot for a dessert lover like me. Down the road - Bertels Salon’s cheesecake had better cake texture and well balanced sweetness.

We visited based on all the recommendations and ordered the Sportskage and Georginelagkage. The Sportskage was too sweet and creamy for my taste, but I preferred the Georginelagkage, which was better. Overall, I enjoyed the atmosphere and the variety of options. However, I found the cakes themselves to be somewhat ordinary and not particularly unique, especially given their high price. Interestingly, the prices are not listed anywhere, which seems to be a deliberate choice.

Best sportskage and hot chocolate I tried in Copenhagen. Magrethekage also delicious. Was too full to try the cookies which is also very famous. Should definitely do it next time.

This bakery is absolutely incredible - we tried 4 items and each one was its own distinct delight. ~ 10 seats inside and there will be a line, wait in it - you would be a fool to do otherwise. Great coffee, lovely staff who were happy to describe the items in English, despite the busyness. We came for the cardamom bun, which was everything we hoped for, but the raspberry & poppyseed pastries were even better! Got back in line for a pumpkin seeded roll - snacked on it all day - heaven!

Finally got to try this bakery, the oldest in Copenhagen! We went by on an afternoon, so unfortunately a lot of products were already sold out, but still got the chance to try their cinnamon roll (still warm!) and a couple of pastries (the one in the picture is with pistacchio). Really nice texture, especially the cinnamon roll, not too dry, chewy and moist, really nice! They have just a couple of seats and tables, might get crowded very soon, also no “proper” cups for coffees, just to go paper cups, be aware. Also congratulations on the Børsen Gazelle ･ᴗ･

It’s funny — before coming to Copenhagen we heard about 2–3 popular bakeries, but we had never seen this one mentioned anywhere. We actually found it by chance while passing by, decided to step in, and ended up coming back every single day after that :) We tried almost all of the pastries you see in my photos, and every single one was delicious. As a pistachio lover, I was blown away by the pistachio pastry — the best I’ve had since Italy. Honestly, the big-name bakeries with multiple branches in Copenhagen don’t compare to this place. A true hidden gem!

Overall: best pastries I've had in Copenhagen. The pastries were so tasty, I had to go a second time! Unfortunately my almond croissant on the second time was burnt but all the other pastries were good. The space is tight so it's not much of a sit down place and I personally was not a fan of the latte (not much flavour in the coffee).

I tried the cinnamon roll and the Danish pastry, and they were so delicious that I went back again on Wednesday morning. There was almost no wait during my first visit, but the second time I waited about 20–30 minutes. Everything was great — especially the Danish pastry, which I highly recommend!

One of the best bakeries I've eaten from. The pastries are divine. Tried their crispy cinnamon rolls, sausage roll, salami pizza, cardamom bun, one of the croissants with almonds on top chai latte and espresso.

The pistachio and chocolate croissant is hands down my favorite pastry from here. There's usually a little bit of a line, but that depends on what time you go. The staff is always so friendly and welcoming. There isn’t much seating inside, so it’s mostly takeaway, but I recommend enjoying your treats in Ørstedparken. Also, heads-up: the almond croissant I had was a little dry and burnt, so I’d probably skip that one.

I came here as it was a highly rated bakery in the vicinity of the highest rated TripAdvisor (a rival reviewing site) bakery in Copenhagen (Hart Bakery). I decided to compare the bakeries by getting a signature cardamom pastry, and seeing if they'd fill up my water for free. The cardamom pastry from this bakery was one of the greatest pastries I've ever had. I have had 4 cardamom based pastries recently, and my sweet lord this was divine. A perfect level of strong cardamom uniformly throughout the pastry. The sweetness was perfect to match complex aromas of the cardamom, it was beautiful. They did also have a tap for me to fill up my water bottle, easily accessible by the door. The water was quite tepid, but my friend got water after me, and it was much colder. On the whole, a wonderful bakery, with so many delicious baked goods, truly a sight to behold.

I visited Andersen Bakery craving something sweet. Unfortunately, I came after 4 pm, and almost everything was sold out. Luckily, there was one last rhubarb pastry left—waiting just for me—and I had to have it. It was absolutely delicious, as was the coffee. I’ll definitely try to come earlier next time to taste more of their pastries. Highly recommended!

Wow wow wow. Absolutely loved the food and the coffee. Wish I had a hallow leg to eat more food because every bite was better than the last. Very busy place, and it was a little loud but can still have a conversation. Tables fill up quick so be aware.

We came here a few times, because of the delicious bakery selection and seating. I can say no pastry is a bad pastry here. Matcha iced latte was not great, it was far too milky. Prices are a bit on the high side but worth it.

Wow, this bakery is easily a contender for the best bakery I’ve ever been to, and I’ve been to a lot of bakeries. We had the rhubarb croissant and this cinnamon bun. They were insanely delicious! Their pastries are very decadent yet not too sweet, with a nice balance of flavors. If you want a decadent sweet treat, this is definitely the best spot to get it from in Copenhagen. All the other pastries that we didn’t try, looked just as delicious.

A great cafe offering both outstanding pastry and coffee. I tried the cheese pastry and the pitaschio pastry, both tasted awesome. The coffee is also great and reasonably priced. However as a tourists, I hoped they have an English description of the pastry menu. Nevertheless, great cafe for a hearty coffee and breakfast.

Really nice BMO at this place. The cheese was great and the bread equally so. Also had their filter coffee which I really like. Butter was nothing special. You know a BMO is amazing when the bakery brings out the whipped butter. Also didn’t have a customer toilet which kinda sucked

I really enjoyed this restaurant. I went here with friends on my first night in Copenhagen, and liked every course we had. The tasting menu with the various courses is the way to go. The pasta was good, not great, but definitely not bad either. It was the pork course that really stood out for me, that was some of the best pork I've ever had in my life. We had a shared table with some local Danish people and they were a lot of fun, very welcoming and easy to talk to. I'd definitely come back here for the fun atmosphere, good service, and satisfying food.

The staff were very warm and friendly and the food was delicious. I got the menu set and I appreciate that they let you order that as a solo dine. Most places require two or more people. With a snack, bread, 3 apps, pasta and an entree for ~330dkk it was a deal. My favorite was definitely the fresh made mozzarella and the octopus salad.

Beautiful place. I have lovely moment in the first morning in Copenhagen trip. The interior is clearly original sense. All curated wall, sealing, chair, table, lamp, and green are mixed well. The dishes are very delicious. You must try brioche, and big morning plate included jam and cheese. That was Top 3 breakfast I had ever.

I was curious about this place since I had visited Relae a few years back and it was one of the best experience I ever had and I still remembered the sourdough bread which was one of the best sourdough bread I had eaten in my life. So I was very excited to see what they had on offer. The place seems more like a small bistro. There is an intimate atmosphere and you can see what is going on in the bakery which is very cool. We ordered the Scambled Egg (with the Nduja butter) and Sourdough Bread, the Beef Tartare and a Granita with the Brioche Col Tuppo. The scrambled egg was great, creamy, tasty, just perfect. I had high expectations for the bread and although it was good, it wasn’t as good as I remembered from Relae. The Tartare was amazing and one of the best tartare I ever had. It has great taste but also very nice texture with crunchiness in it which is quite unusual, but makes the experience so much better. I would definitely recommend that Tartare. To finish, I had heard great things about the Brioche and was excited to try it, unfortunately, it was very average. I think briche is one thing italian’s have never mastered. I tastes ok, but it’s just that… an almost bland brioche.

The food was nice and the service was lovely. The flavours were great. The tartar was my favourite. We had two pastas as well which were good but not amazing. Overall was a great experience. I love how the bathroom has a secondary door to make it extra private.

One of the most reliably delicious bakeries in Copenhagen! Their kanelsnurre is my all time favourite, ESPECIALLY when it is fresh from the oven- the sugar caramelises in way that is addictive and perfectly balanced with the dough. I would also recommend their foccacia and madbrød which I’ve had in the past. The staff are always really nice and helpful too. My favourite way to enjoy is by taking a nice long walk through Assistens after you purchase :)

If you happen to get a cardamon bun fresh hot out the oven it'll be the best you ever tasted. They have many other treats (sweet and savory) unique to their bakery too.

Cute little bakery, which feels a bit like a basement since it's a couple of steps under street level. The cinnamon roll that I took looked great and was still fresh even though it was already late in the afternoon. It was tasty but not as outstanding as other pastries that I've had in the city. I had the impression the cinnamon was not very well distributed, which made some parts of the bun a bit sweeter than others. It's a pity they only offer filtered coffee and no steamed-milk variants. There is no space for indoor seating, but you can enjoy your coffee standing at the counter.

The small bread rolls (for example sesame seeds) made my German wife happy and reminded me of eating a NY sesame bagel. The cinnamon roll and poppyseed pastry great as well. We went here 2-3x during our stay in Copenhagen Nørrebro.

Sooo good, we went back for more. In fact, it’s one of the only spots that we visited TWICE on our trip to Copenhagen. I can safely guarantee that we’ll be dreaming of our pastries & drinks for years to come. Highly recommend.

This spot is a must for danish brunch and lunch. The menu is simple, vegetarian and very delicious. The atmosphere is cozy and a bit hectic. The queue can last for around 15 minutes outside of the café. But it is definitely worth the wait. Some long tables are meant to be shared among customers, so if you don't like the idea of sitting right next to a stranger then this place might not be for you. I would recommend to get a warm apple juice with cinnamon, it is very comforting. Right inside the café there is a design shop that sells items used in the decoration of the café!

We visited this lovely little bakery yesterday — everything was so cozy and beautifully presented. The pastries were absolutely delicious, freshly made and full of flavor. They only serve filter coffee, which was nice, but we would have loved to see a bit more variety on the coffee menu. Other than that, everything was perfect! ☕🥐

There is nothing to dislike about this place (except maybe the prices)! I love that it pairs with the Frama design store where they even sell the cups and plates the restaurant uses. I absolutely love the vibes in here. I would have stayed all day if possible! I ordered the savory waffle and the danish. The filtered coffee was really good too! If you only go to one cafe while you’re in town, make it this place.

Waited 45 minutes which was not worth what we got in the end. Even though we finally got a table we were then told to go to the counter and place our order which altogether was another long wait. The bread was great but cheese was dried out and pastries not as good as other places otherwise meals were very simple. I gave it the 3 stars for the ambiance and staff who were very sweet despite all the people queuing up.

However the cardamom bun I had barely tasted like cardamom, it just was sweet bread, I couldn’t even bring myself to finish it because it was so dry and bland. The coffee was good tho. Newly opened and very cute interior. Only filter coffee and nothing too special about the quality pastries 🥐 good bread, pastries etc. I was happy for the owners seeing a long line of people. Similar bakeries like this are in the rest of Copenhagen, but only one in that area. I hope they evolve, have a bathroom soon and a better bike ramp. Would be so nice to have them long term there

3,5* We had high expectations of this bakery after reading the reviews but the experience was underwhelming. The place is really small as well as the variety of pastry. We wanted to buy bread but decided to not to as it didn’t look appealing. We tried cinnamon a kardamome buns - very strong flavour in both. Good but not spectacular. No bathroom. Only filtered coffee. Disappointing experience due to high reviews and expectations.

Well, it was a bit late, around 2:30, so some products were sold out. But we were lucky to have some things to eat there. Well, the bakery is very small and there are only 2 seats; no plates or fork or knife for eating. But the taste was good and I liked that; it was a bit too expensive but it was ok! Sure you can find cheaper in city.

Super overhyped. The positive reviews of this place don’t reflect the reality that there are just much better bakeries in Copenhagen and other capital cities, even in Asia, that this place cannot hold a candle to. Pastries are a far cry from what I’ve tasted even in the far east. What a disappointment. They lack the finesse and care that go into the best bakeries. Croissants are surprisingly soggy and the crusts lack the crisp structure you are promised when you close your eyes and imagine what to expect when you see the unjustified lines outside. Even upon sight of the almond croissant, you can tell something is just mid about everything. It’s not a disaster, but it’s just fine, normal and nothing to shout about. The cardamom brioche smells of a wonderful warming embrace, and the scent fills you with the anticipation of the perfume to fill your mouth, but the texture and slight sogginess of the pastry itself just lets that wonderful aroma down. Maybe the pastries just need to be toasted freshly before you tuck in. The coffee is weak and lacks any body. But they use good quality milk that salvages some of the experience. There are plentiful other cafes and coffee shops to get a better caffeine fix. The saving grace was the charming and pleasant team of young adults who run this place who are polite, have easy smiles and are never flustered despite the long queues that from outside at times.

Cannot miss out on these pastries!! We came in the morning and got the pistachio croissant - now I love croissants but I’m not one of those pistachio girlies…. Until now. I get it. I get the hype. I am converted!! So good we got a second one. I couldn’t stop thinking about this spot the entire day so we came back in the afternoon for a quick sweet treat, love that they are open until late

This is another must-visit spot when you’re in Copenhagen. The bakery offers a variety of delicious pastries, especially their croissants. Unfortunately, when I visited, the pistachio croissants weren’t ready yet. It’s a small shop with limited seating, but if you come early enough in the morning, you might still find a place to sit. Most people tend to grab their pastries to go.

Buka is a nice bakery with friendly staff and good pastries. I had an almond croissant (great) and a lemond cardamom bun (also great). In a city of great bakeries Buka sits comfortably among one of the higher tiers in my opinion.

I loved both items I got there. The almond croissant was one of the best I've ever had. The raspberry marscapon thing was also delicious. I'm glad I stopped by.

I ordered a pistachio croissant and coffee. It was delicious, there was a lot of filling in the croissant. I was pleasantly surprised that the line moved quickly + there were free tables inside. However, the attitude of the staff seemed a bit condescending to me. In addition, the waiter did not announce the amount of my change or where to get cutlery.

Had such a great time at the Italian restaurant! Danele🌹🌹🌹🌹, the manager, was super welcoming and made us feel at home. I had an almond croissant and a washed Kenya coffee — both were excellent! Great flavor and fresh quality. Highly recommend this place for coffee lovers in Copenhagen.

The coffee was decent, but nothing super special. Worth a try if you’re passing by, but personally, I wouldn’t go out of my way for it. We came in at 4:30pm. The girl (in black shirt) taking our order reminded us they close at 5pm, so the coffee would be in takeaway cups. We said that’s fine, we know the closing time. But only a few mins later, she came over to remind us again. Honestly, it felt a bit annoying. We completely understand you want to close on time, but there’s no need to keep repeating it.

We had a wonderful breakfast here. The pastry is just absolutely delicious. The coffee is also prepared well. The staff are kind and helpful. This coffee shop extends to a library which is really cool especially for people like me who loves to read.

I don’t get the good reviews because I had one of the worst coffee of my life. And I’m not even exaggerating! I had a cappuccino and it was so bitter and doesn’t taste like a cappuccino. My husband had a latte which was better but still not so good. However the cinnamon pastry was delicious which was the only good thing. Also for the price, they don’t even serve you your coffee you have to take it from the bar. Too expensive for the quality!

The espresso here was so over extracted and bitter. The atmosphere is very good and the service was great. Generally, the place was clean and well kept. If you are focused on the coffee...there is much better elsewhere in Copenhagen.

We had a very good cinnamon bun in the morning and it was still slightly warm. Lots of butter on the bottom, squishy and soft. Delicious flavour from the added lemon peel and butter but it was a tad greasy which I’m not sure is like other cinnamon buns. Still great. Takeaway only as it’s in the market hall.

We tried out the focaccia which was very oily, and cold. Probably not the best that could be. Not sure how fresh actually was. The staff member was friendly and answered few questions, however the serving process is quite slow, and the waiting time is high around lunch time.

Chocolate milk/juice is also available for takeaway.

I certainly understand that this bakery would like to rid itself of burnt and not-fit-for consumption products, however, selling them at full price to my unsuspecting wife is probably not the best way to do so. If your employee sees the bread is burnt, why package it and hand it to a customer?

Perfection! We ate many different sweet treats and one savory tart here and all were amazing. Super fresh, tasty and delicious. Really friendly service that was very efficient. We dined inside (which was lovely and cosy) but there was plenty of seating outside also. Great location with lovely views to just relax and enjoy.

Personally Food: the pastries and cake are generally good with right sweetness and some unique take to the traditional danish pastries. The prices are on a higher end of bakeries but not super expensive. Plenty of drinks selection to choose from. They have some water/garden and indoor seating. Service is good. 2 things to improve: 1. the speed of service, time is precious, its not fun to use substantial time lining up on a weekend morning, especially when one is also paying for parking 😔 2. Presentationg of the pastries need improvement, they look almost burned/ overcooked and unappetizing even in the morning…

An absolute gem of a place! Was recommended by friends living in the city. We came on our last morning in Copenhagen and had the amazing famous cardamom bun / croissant and picked many other things including the lemon poppy seed cake. Wow. What great pasties, bread and baked goods. Everything was perfect and went so well with a cappuccino! The staff were incredible too! Definitely coming back!

Many branches throughout the city but this was the one visited by the TV series The Bear. Pastries are very nicely done and the cardamom croissant is one of the nicest one I’ve tried in Copenhagen. When the weather is good, the alfresco seating area by the waters is really nice. There are even some deck chairs just by the side of the water’s edge. Worth the visit if you’re in the area.

Hart Bakery was gem during our time in Copenhagen. The croissants were some of the best we’ve ever had perfectly flaky, buttery, and full of flavour. Every pastry and baked item looked and tasted incredible. The cozy, relaxed vibe made it the perfect stop for breakfast or a mid-morning treat. Easily one of the highlights of our trip and a must-visit for anyone who loves great pastries

Hart has become a Copenhagen institution, and it’s easy to see why. They’ve got several locations around the city, and no matter which one you go to, the quality is consistent. Their style leans more toward laminated and flaky pastries, and they really nail it. The croissants and other layered pastries are buttery, crisp, and just really well made. I also enjoyed their cinnamon roll, which had a nice balance of sweetness and texture. Beyond pastries, their breads are excellent too, with a depth of flavor that shows the care they put into fermentation. The coffee is solid as well, making it a good all-around stop whether you’re after breakfast or just a quick pastry and coffee. The shops themselves feel modern but approachable, and it’s clear the focus is on the craft.

These are the best pastries I’ve ever tried. The croissant was so flaky. The eggs were nicely seasoned. The coffee quality is excellent. I find myself craving this place since coming back from Copenhagen

Very stylish bakery with a really nice atmosphere that makes you feel going back in time. Very classy. We took a Morning Plate and Sourdough bun. Both very nice. The bun with lots of seeds was very tasty. The cheese as well. We enjoyed our visit and breakfast here..

Very cosy cafe very close to the central station. We were there at peak busyness on Sunday, so there was quite a wait to order, but food was outstanding and coffee was tasty. Lots of seating and nooks to chill in.

OMG! This year I made a New Year’s resolution to visit 50 new bakeries. Rug Bakery was #31, and so far it's one of the best. The pastry I got was amazing, also good coffee, and a charming atmosphere. Highly recommend! I wish I lived nearby... I would come here all the time.

Tucked inside what looks like a fairly corporate hotel, this Danish bakery is actually a cool, design-led gem. It balances polished interiors with a bit of edge. The folded eggs are insanely good—rich, buttery, and best with a side of bacon (well worth the extra). Espresso was strong and spot-on, orange juice freshly squeezed, and the cinnamon pastry? Unreal. A brilliant breakfast spot that feels both refined and relaxed. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Copenhagen.

Enter Rug to find pastries and baked goods lining the displays, the welcoming scent of warm bread and coffee and be greeted by the friendly stuff. We frequented Rug on several occasions during our stay as we found our minds wandering back to the cosy yet fashionable cafe. An excellent spot for a good date with a book.

Great food & atmosphere. They have matcha latte 🍵 The pastries taste very good, and they have “bikinis”, a ham & cheese toastie (in Barcelona we call them “biquini” as well, but the type of cheese & the bread was was excellent here, I think it’s brioche bread).

A truly stellar cardamom bun, for anyone that believes there isn't such a thing as too much cardamom. Fragrant, soft dough, very minor criticism that there was a slightly noticeable yeast after-taste, but overall one of the best cardamom buns. The croissant had good flakiness but was slightly denser than I prefer in the middle. The yoghurt with granola was another standout - lovely, thick yoghurt, super-crunchy and nutty granola (which the menu says comes from the Københavns Bageri), and a fresh berry compote. Very simple but each individual element executed with care. A cozy, calm atmosphere in which I would be happy to spend an hour working or reading.

Alice Coffee is a true gem in Amagerbro. The coffee here is top-notch — expertly brewed with good flavor. The atmosphere is cozy and minimalist in that effortless Scandinavian way — great for catching up with a friend or just enjoying a quiet moment with your coffee. Bonus points for the homemade pastries and ice cream, which are absolutely delicious and made with real care (the cardamom bun is a must-try!). Friendly staff, high-quality coffee, and a relaxed vibe — what more could you want? Definitely one of my favorite coffee spots in Copenhagen!

Lots of danes so you know it's great and not just a tourist trap! Beautiful pastries (we had a cardamom bun, cinnamon bun, pain au chocolat and the traditional danish pastry, all divine! soo crispy). These with a cup of tea and cappuccino came to around £30 gpb, bit pricey but completely worth it. Window seating was perfect for people watching.

I definitely don’t recommend this place for ice cream. I’ve tried many ice cream spots in Copenhagen, so I’m used to the high prices, but I was disappointed to see that you have to pay an additional 8 DKK just to get a cone. I got one scoop of hazelnut ice cream, and the portion was incredibly small. The ice cream itself was really hard and not creamy at all. I’m sure this place offers other great food and the atmosphere is lovely, but I wouldn’t come back for the ice cream.

Very popular place with the locals. I'm having a Cortado which is a very nice replacement for my usual espresso macchiato. They have some nice soft boiled eggs, freshly prepared. The bread looks great but I can't have that.

I recently visited Alice Ice Cream & Coffee and unfortunately, my experience didn’t quite meet expectations. While the staff was efficient, they didn’t seem particularly engaged, which made the atmosphere feel a bit distant and less welcoming than I had hoped. The food was a bit hit-or-miss. Two out of the three breads were slightly underbaked, making them a bit tougher than expected. The brunsviger had a surprising lemon flavor, which was an unusual twist for this traditional Danish pastry. It also seemed a bit undercooked, which was disappointing. The morning platter, though presented nicely, felt a bit light for the price. It was ready too quickly, but it didn’t feel like a substantial meal. The coffee and juice were good, but nothing stood out as exceptional. The café has the potential to be cozy, though I did notice a few flies which detracted from the experience. The toilets are quite compact, and overall, the space could use a little more attention to detail in terms of maintenance. While Alice Ice Cream & Coffee has some positives, I left feeling that a few improvements could make it a more enjoyable spot.

Alice is an absolute gem! The food is exceptional—the croissants are easily the best I’ve ever had. The ice cream is also amazing. Plus they really know what they are doing when it comes to good coffee. The service is impeccable: friendly, attentive, and efficient. On top of that, the atmosphere is wonderful and vibrant, whether to relax, read a book, or get some work done. It’s just one of those places you always look forward to coming back to :)

The best pain au chocolat I have ever had! Beautifully laminated, satisfying crunch with a soft interior and a rich, dark chocolate spread. This bakery works love and magic into their croissants getting both the softness and crunchy flakiness that makes for the most delicious pastry! Definitely worth repeated visits!

Some of the best baked goods I’ve ever had! The Kringle was divine and the cardamom bun left me wondering why I only bought one.

The products are good — I especially loved the cinnamon roll. But the almond croissant was really bad; I think they should remove the orange flavor from the cream. The apple-walnut one was also very nice. The breads were overproofed and too flat, but their color and baking level were good. The atmosphere outside is terrible — it feels like eating a croissant in a sci-fi movie. Inside, though, it’s nice.

Really tasty pastry! I got the cardamon bread and it's soft with excellent bouncy mouthfeel, great cardamon flavor without overpowering it, and perfect sweetness! Also got the poppy seed bread with butter and cheese -love the bread. Amazing.

Honestly, I know this place is hyped and popular, but I had an average experience here. I’m glad I went though and got to try the food, but I’m not sure it was worth the 15 minute wait in line for a table. It was a lot of tourists in line so I’m not sure how the locals feel about it, but the food was pretty average for the prices and wait time. The restaurant is definitely so well decorated and cozy, with its rustic eclectic feel. 10/10 for atmosphere. Coffee was really great, avocado toast and oatmeal was mid.

Atelier Septembre is a decent coffee, breakfast, and brunch spot, but it doesn't quite live up to the hype. The food is tasty but some dishes come across as a bit pretentious—"Kyoto style" grapefruit being simply some grapefruit pieces with a few mint leaves. However the Coffee is good and generous in size. But with limited seating, slow service, and high prices, it's probably not worth going out of your way to visit.

Probably my favorite location, it is less busy and feels more relaxed. The bathrooms need a renovation though, one is out of order other one looks insane 🫢

Small and cozy cafe. We went in for breakfast and we were able to secure a table without waiting for too long. The blueberry pancake was delicious. The combination of blueberry sauce & vanilla cream was perfectly balanced with the almond pancake. Other dishes were okay. Typical avocado toast, bread and cheese. Would not recommend other drinks than coffee. Matcha was very light and diluted, almost like drinking water. Ambiance was great and relaxed. Everything was on a pricier side considering the taste & portion. The service was friendly and the food was fast.

The place to be when in Copenhagen. Maybe the most hyped cafe in town but so much worth it. If you have to try something from the menu go for the almond pancake - it is unlike any other pancake and maybe the best I had so far. No need to talk about interior and aesthetics, a true Scandinavian vibe.

Atelier is among the best café/restaurant anywhere. The thought that has gone into the food and the drinks is great: even classic stuff like their porridge or hot (oat) chocolate is made in a quirky way that makes the stuff just wonderful and super special. Did I mention the soups? This has become my go-to place after trying out lots of different locations in Copenhagen. I simply love this place :). The staff is extremely nice. Sure, there is no toilet besides one across the street as I see someone pointed out, but focusing on that means royally missing the point of this place. Highly recommended.

Simplicity is the key! We tried avocadomad and bread with butter, cheese and egg. Love it. The filter coffee was great. Atelier is small but cozy place with really nice stuff. Be careful because we waited about 1 hour to be seated on Saturday morning (around 10am) :(

Hart was one of the bakeries we wanted to visit while in Copenhagen. The bakery has good reviews and we were excited to taste and test it out. Seattle now has world class bakeries and we were hoping this one will be good or better. We tried a sausage roll, chocolate croissant, quiche, raspberry tart and cardamom croissant. Most notable was the raspberry croissant. The rest were greasy and lacking the quality of a French bakery. Unfortunately, the quality and creativity were lacking. The sausage tasted like a greasy cheap burger shop product. Realize they have a good following of customers, so maybe you should try them out while in Copenhagen or you are discovering Copenhagen.

A great spot for something sweet and a good coffee. They offer a nice variety of pastries, and the cardamom bun stands out as especially tasty. . There are also options with different flavors, like rhubarb, which were also quite good.

The one and only review you need for Hart. Go in. Order anything on their menu. Have your tastebuds ready. Enjoy. Seriously, the stuff is proper good. The only negative is you’ll not be able to have everything in one sitting, but then again a reason to return! Loved the cardamon croissant. But the sesame bun with butter and cheese just hits different.

Absolutely delicious breakfast / brunch restaurant in the center of Copenhagen. It is popular, so it is likely that you'll have to put your name to the list and queue outside for a while. The menu incorporates the Polish origin of the owners and blends inspirations from the kitchens of the world, taking you to Turkey, middle east or South America. We loved everything on the menu - probably Turkish Cilbir being the star of the brunch, but deconstructed breakfast burrito or shakshuka (called sekshuka at seks) were great aswell. The bread is freshly baked and you can get some appetizers with polish spread or with cheese and pickles (ask for the "illegal" ketchup version).

Love love love this little jewel of a place, one of my favourites in Copenhagen for sure. Love the story of the owner, the choices for the menu and the atmosphere, so warm vibrant and welcoming. They always have the best selection of drinks and beverages.

We went to the cafe on Sunday for breakfast but the queue was out the door around to the side street. The girls working there didn't want to look up or greet people while they were busy and no wait list or anything you can get on so no way to know how long the wait was when the staff didn't want to talk to anyone. We left and gone to the Social Brew close by. As the cafe was less than 5 minutes walk from the hotel, we stopped by again on Monday to see if we can get a table for breakfast. You get the menu from the courter and ordered there and go find available table. The food was good but a little small, we had 3 dishes to shared between the 2 of us.

Best breakfast in Copenhagen so far! Everything we ate were so delicious. Especially avocado-lime lemonade 💘 We loved the atmosphere of the place and the menu as well. Hope we can comeback again for desserts and coffee 😋

I first visited a year ago, and my experience this time was quite similar. The service wasn’t great, probably because they seem understaffed – too many customers for them to really go the extra mile and be kind. The food, though 🤩 On Thursday, I tried the mango lassi to go (though served in a plastic cup). On Friday, I had the scrambled eggs – good, but nothing special. The gzik was pretty good, the chai was delicious, and the surprise cheesecake was also a nice treat. On Saturday, I went for the smørrebrød with salmon, which I really enjoyed. The avocado lemonade was also delicious.

This café has multiple branches across Copenhagen and is definitely a must-try! If you miss it during your trip, don’t worry—they also have two branches at the airport, making it a perfect last-minute stop before your flight. The best items I tried were the Direktørsnegl (a delicious chocolate roll) and the Kanelstang. I also had a salmon sandwich, which was fresh and flavorful. You order at the counter and receive your items immediately—super convenient if you’re on the go. The coffee line moves quickly, and they also offer free Wi-Fi, which is a nice bonus.

We dropped by Lagkagehuset for quick breakfast while visiting Copenhagen last few days. Attractive, freshly baked and plenty of choices of pastries, pizza displayed. Enjoy rabatbersnurre, kanelgiffel, spandauer creme, latte. Quick and friendly service. It's easy to find them at many locations even in the airport.

Located very centrally for tourists (me) and they have an screen ordering system for pickup. But the pastries were delicious and we always had great service. We went back several times to try all the different kinds because they had such a wide selection.

Polite staff, really good food. The pizza dough is not flat like regular pizza so it’s very tasty, fluffy and soft. They heat it up when you order and it is very good. We spent around 210 dkk for the two of us, including the hot chocolate (great), black tea (great). We ordered coffee the other day which I don’t recommend. The place is great, and you can sit and eat inside.

A lot of people recommended Rondo’s savoury pastry to me but this one was just decent. It is nice to finally try out non-sweet pastry in Copenhagen for sure, however the spinach tasted weird cold and feta made the pastry soggy. I can’t help but feel like I should have asked for BMO or focaccia sandwich instead. Cinammon roll (35DKK) Very flaky pastries compared to the sweet bun version (more like a bread than pastry) I usually eat. I did find it a bit too sweet, though Rondo’s version had an interesting lemon twist to this classic pastry. It was nice, but not something I would repurchase.

A stylish bakery that’s become popular for its high-quality pastries and breads. The atmosphere is modern yet cozy, and it’s a nice place to stop for a coffee and something freshly baked. Many of the items are creative twists on classic pastries, and when they’re at their best, they’re truly delicious. On my visit, some of the pastries were very tasty, but the cardamom pastry in particular was a bit burnt that day, which was disappointing given the bakery’s reputation. Still, the overall quality and attention to detail are clear, and it’s easy to see why this spot is loved by locals and visitors alike. If you’re nearby, it’s worth stopping in to try their bakes, but like with any busy bakery, quality can vary depending on timing and the day.

Delicious pastries and great coffee. It's a small bakery, so there's not much sitting place inside or outside. There's plenty of space in the park (alongside the slot) just across the road. So it's really easy to get everything as takeaway. It's really busy on weekend mornings so just be patient in the queue, it's well worth it.

Honestly loved this bakery. They don’t have a huge menu, but what they do have is really good. The cardamom croissant was tasty flaky, warm spice, not too sweet. And the spandauer was pure buttery happiness. Cozy lil spot, feels friendly. I’d absolutely come back!

I tried their other branch on Frederiksgade and had to come to this one too, since I think this is the branch they filmed for The Bear. The pastries here are just as amazing, beautifully made and absolutely delicious! I tried the Fig Tart and it just melted in your mouth. I can’t wait to bring my partner here next time. Definitely a must-visit for pastry lovers!

We saw the highest rated bakery on TripAdvisor (a rival review site) was real close to our hostel, so we got on our merry way to check it out. We also saw there was a higher rated bakery on Google maps right next to it (Andersen Bakery). I decided to pit the two against each other with the two most important features of a danish bakery, their cardamom signature pastry, and if they filled up water for free. The cardamom croissant I got from Hart Bakery was unfortunately quite overcooked. This made it quite crunchy, not really what you want. The cardamom flavour was very subtle too, quite weak. I did get a coffee, and it was quite nice, nothing special, but I had to wait quite a while for it. They did fill my water bottle with ice cold water for free, which is absolutely lovely. My friends had pastries from here, and enjoyed them, but all agreed my cardamom croissant wasn't up to scratch.

Great place to get/have breakfast! It can get very busy and there is not a lot of (indoor) seating but the staff works fast and the pastries are very good. They are large but very light and layered. I very much recommend the chocolate milk

I enjoyed a very delicious and generous portion of coffee, bmo and pastry at Galst. I also got some sourdough bread to take home, it was a perfect balance of crispy and soft! ⭐️ The staff is kind and friendly. I even had a quick chat where I got recommendations and good information about the menu and the breads. I would recommend this delicious little bakery!

My favorite bakery we visited during our time in Copenhagen. The buns and the coffee were very delicious. We came back 3 times during our week staying in the neighborhood.

While it might not be the best bun with cheese in Copenhagen, it’s still worth a visit. Their cinnamon bun, however, was outstanding!

Almost 5*! The buns were incredible. One star down for the coffee - poor taste. We came around 45 mins before closing time and they still had wide selection of pastry. Only bread and buns were sold out. Nice staff. No toilet. Bad coffee, otherwise, great place and will come back to try more. :)

The best cardamom and cinnamon buns I had during my month in Copenhagen. Get there early for fresh buns — they’re best when warm, basically melt in your mouth! Coffee is solid, and their bread is delicious as well. Outdoor seating only.

Came close to closing to try the cinnamon and cardamom rolls. They did not disappoint but are no Juno. That being said, they are cheaper. They gave us two extra rolls because they were closing soon so very much appreciated!

AMAZING service. The woman working yesterday (Saturday) was so kind to us and took so much time with us as nervous/unknowledgeable tourists to explain the different pastries offered in the bakery. Also, given how expensive bakeries are in Copenhagen, Galst was much more affordable and frankly DELICIOUS!

We booked the buffet by mistake trying to book the buffet for banegarden, but it was a good experience anyways. The boiled eggs, baked tomatoes and pancakes were out favorites. We asked for coffee outside the buffet menu, it was a bit too milky but good! Booking there is always a good choice cause you can find the place a bit crowded sometimes. We will come back if we are around sydhavn again.

It is a wonderful cafe space hidden in Copenhagen. I tasted Americano and was impressed by how delicious it was.

Disappointed. We were supposed to eat brunch there and wanted to sit outside. The outdoor area seems nice at first sight, but most tables were dirty, either from previous morning guests or with pizza boxes and beer cans from the evening before probably. I had to clean the table myself since I couldn't get in touch with the staff - everyone was too busy. We later decided to drop the brunch because of the a-bit-too-chaotic experience (though the buffet looked great) and to take something to go. The same person taking orders at the counter was preparing them (including cutting buns and buttering them) so it was not particularly efficient. You could tell the staff was a bit under pressure. We got pastry and buns with cheese that tasted good.

Extremely cosy bakery in the midst of a nice Green area. We were 8 people and we didn’t have a booking and the staff was extremely kind and attentive. I really liked their coffee (a bit more pricey than Copenaghen average) but extremely flavoursome. The baked goods were all really good. I loved the apple and cinnamon pastry tart. It was flakey and buttery! Cannot wait to come back when the weather is warmer to get breakfast outside

Super cozy place. Hidden gem in the middle of busy Copenhagen. Started with a Cappuccino and croissant and then had to try the pizza too. Did not regret anything. Would definitely come back.

Very nice place but clueless staff. If you’re happy to wait 45+ minutes for food the courtyard/garden is very nice, but every time we’ve been here it has been a really frustrating experience.

I was really hoping to give this 4 or even 5 stars but it just didn't meet the mark. The vibe is great and the concept of all sitting together with your 'neighbours' is brilliant Easy to scan and pay It was just the pizza, ever so slightly on the thin side. I certainly don't like a thick base but this was just off what I prefer and I've had to bring it down. Starting with the staff, the waiter is doing a great job! He was really kind and helpful! Concerning the food we had two pizzas which have a nice thin and crispy crust and the Korean BBQ wings. The not a pepperoni pizza was really great, the garlic chicken was alright and the Korean BBQ wings were okay as well! The homemade sparkling tea is refreshing! Exactly outside of the restaurant there is a bus stop and it is located quite close to the central station.

Super cool spot! Not res needed for a Wednesday night. Cocktail was pretty good, but I didn’t think it paired super nicely with the pizza. Pizza was nice, but there was some part of the flavour profile that was off for me.

We came here for my friends birthday dinner and got the inflation menu. We were able to chose our entrees, pizza and desert but couldn't chose our cocktail (only substitute it for a non-alcoholic drink). The beef tartar and garlic chicken pizza was delicious. The desert and the drink were a bit of a miss for me. The atmosphere was really cosy and nice though!

Tasty thin crust pizzas, great service. The roasted potato pizza was amazing! They make their signature cocktails with naturally infused / flavoured liquors. We thoroughly enjoyed the ones we ordered.

I've been here once and already made a new reservation. Love this place. The food is so delicious and some of the best drinks in Copenhagen. Fun, vibrant atmosphere and very good service. A solid North American–style burger in a fun Copenhagen setting I had been looking forward to trying this place after seeing a video on YouTube. I love the whole concept behind the Gas Station burger joint — a stylish nod to North American burger culture — and they definitely nail the vibe. As a North American myself, surrounded by some of the best burgers in the world back home, it’s always a fun experience to try the European take on a “classic” burger. But I’ll be honest: most of the time, it ends up feeling like a much more expensive version of a budget comfort food I already have access to regularly. That said — this one was a standout. If you’ve never had a proper North American–style burger and you’re in Copenhagen, this is a fantastic place to start. I had a soft, fresh buttered brioche bun, sharp orange cheddar, a classic burger sauce (think Big Mac style), sweet pickles, and a perfectly grilled, pink, juicy patty. Super well-balanced and satisfying. Final thoughts: Is it a revelation for someone from the U.S. or Canada? Probably not. But it’s a damn good version of a familiar classic, done with care and quality ingredients. If you’re craving a legit burger in Copenhagen, this place will definitely hit the spot.

Best burgers in Copenhagen is an understatement. The line at this one was quite long but service was quick and efficient. Some seating outside. Butter burger was really good, as was the cheeseburger and vinegar fries. Lemonade not amazing but refreshing. Price quite high but worth it.

Good quality burgers, but nothing that really stands out – there are plenty of places serving equal or even better burgers. That said, the atmosphere is cool and unique, as the food is prepared in an old gas station that’s still in operation (gasoline, diesel, and electric). The setting definitely adds some charm. We waited around 10 minutes for our food, which was reasonable. Worth a visit if you’re nearby, especially for the experience.

After really enjoying our first visit to another branch, we decided to try the original Gasoline Grill. This one is located in an actual gas station with outdoor seating, which adds to the charm. Since we weren’t too hungry, we shared one Butterburger. Honestly, we preferred the cheeseburger we had at the other branch, but this one was still very tasty. The patty was cooked a bit more than we usually like, but it wasn’t dry at all. Definitely a spot worth trying.

Their hamburgers are very delicious,made with high-quality meat. The fries are also very tasty, and the drinks are good too. It's no surprise it sells so well. In the evenings, there's a very long line of people, and you have to wait for an hour, but it's delicious and worth the wait. The restaurant only has one or two tables for dining in.

We had to try the burger after hearing The New York Times call it the best in the world—and it totally lived up to the hype. We got both the hamburger and the cheeseburger. Super simple, but that’s what made the amazing beef and perfect grill flavor stand out even more.

This place offers a great selection of cakes, all rich and flavorful, with a variety of options to choose from. The coffee and tea selection is also good, making it a nice spot for a break. Service is friendly, and the atmosphere downstairs is cozy. However, the upstairs seating near the toilet can be unpleasant due to the smell, which takes away from the experience. Prices are on the high side, even for Copenhagen, which might not make it the best value, but if you’re looking for indulgent cakes, it’s still worth a visit.

We wanted to visit Bertels Salon, as the place has the reputation of the best cheesecake in Copenhagen. Unfortunately that put the bar really high, and for us it generated high expectations - which they didn’t really meet (sorry to say). I mean, the cakes are ok, but nothing exceptional for our taste. We tried the Chocolate cherry, the Bounty and the Blueberry Vanilla - the third was the best. Chocolate cherry is huge. Bounty looks half of the Chocolate cheery in size, but just right. The place is in an old townhouse, has its old charm. Worths a visit - although a bit pricey.

I would give the cheesecake here 4.5 star out of 5. It is American style cheesecake but it is light and fragrant. It has a near melt in mouth texture. Enjoyed it with hot tea on cold day. But the best melt in mouth cheesecake that I had was from The Alley in Penang, Malaysia.

Only address for homemade cheesecake! You understand that your cake is prepared daily and totally homemade. I love berry one! You can sit in front of the shop and watch people when enjoying your dessert 🍰

Heard about this place on the podcast Off Menu. So had to give it a try. Superb cheesecake, a great selection to choose from and all with lovely, friendly service. It’s definitely worth a visit!

I had the largest matcha latte I’ve ever seen, and as someone who tries matcha everywhere, I absolutely loved this one! The cheesecake was also delicious. I recommend sitting on the second floor for a lovely street view.

The cheesecakes were really good, although not the best. There are many varieties,and the caramel one was very delicious. Not too sweet. That's a good thing 🙏

We had the combo, both vegetarian and with meat. 🌮 The vegetarian one had only 3 tacos of the same kind, we would have preferred some variety. The meat ones were good, but a little dry. Overall they were tasty and the little terrace outside was cute in the sun. 🌞

We would have liked more variety in the veggie tacos as it was the same filling across all Tacos in the plate.. The pork flavour was good but it was a little dry.. I had high expectations and I'm happy I did try this place before leaving Copenhagen, but I would rate it as nice, very good, but not excellent. Flavours are there but I must admit I expected a bit of more juiciness, despite everything is prepared and combined in front of you. Service is good, people working there are smiling and quick, the drinks are nice. The atmosphere is pleasant, I like the meatpacking district as you see a lot going on, but when you are at your table you don't feel the crowd.

We had a delicious dinner here a few nights ago. As a Californian I’m picky and have high standards for Mexican food and this was delicious. I had a veggie, beef and el pastor taco platter and they were all good but the el pastor is the best. The margarita was fresh and chips, guacamole and salsa were well seasoned. The churro was fresh and the ambience was very welcoming. I highly recommend this restaurant!

AUTHENTIC Mexican food in Copenhagen was something I really wasn't expecting. This place is sensational and in such a nice area! Visit on a beautiful day so you can sit outside to enjoy your food or get it to go as space is pretty limited. Not a strike against them, by any means, though, as it's still well worth the trip!

The food was perfect. The pizza had a thin crust and great quality toppings. The bread we shared as a starter was fluffy and crispy and the desserts were good. The restaurant has a great atmosphere and the staff was really nice.

Visited in June 2025. We had the 3 course menu, we tried the eggplant and bruschetta for starters, 2 different pizzas for the main, and both the tiramisu and panna cotta for dessert. While the food by itself wasn't so special to warrant 5 stars, my rating takes into account the price and quantity, which I found quite satisfying. I also appreciated the drinks selection, because they had mocktails and non-alcoholic cocktails. The staff was nice, friendly and professional. On the day I visited, they seemed a bit overwhelmed, but we visited on a holiday - I do hope there are more servers on other days. The restaurant was cozy, in a tiny old building in the center of Copenhagen. Overall, I was pleased with my visit and I'd be happy to come back.

Very good pizza we had before. This time we went with the menu and were not disappointed. Starters were good. Main courses prepared well and lots of flavour. Tiramisu was pretty good also.

As usual the advertised gluten free pizza drew us here. Good range of toppings available and local Mikkeler beers among others. We went on the day of the Royal Run in the evening expecting it to be busy but it was quiet. Would recommend!

A lot of great fresh food reasonably priced which is rare in an expensive city like Copenhagen. We went here twice because. The staff is also very friendly. Loved it! Hope to be back again next time I visit

The local had a curious smell, the time of waiting to get the drink was excessive, and the food has caused me not to feel so well. I don't recommend that place, and clearly not the pancetta pizza.

For me this was one of the best gluten free pizza experiences. But its not only because of the base, the toppings was so high quality and rich, OMG I just loved it. Its a thin crust pizza, sourdough if you have the normal version, not the chewy type. Super sweet service, the food takes a bit of time, maybe gluten-free takes longer, but you can have some affordable starters in the meantime. I had green olives (a bit on the salty side) and amazing grilled peppers with aged cheese. The lemonade was a bit sweet, but ok for someone with a sweeter tooth than mine. Super cosy place at an excellent location! I will be back when I am next in town.

The famous Copenhagen porridge chain, for breakfast, lunch and dinner if you so desire. Sadly, the porridge is no longer gluten free, which was one of major attractions for us, but fortunately there were a few other non-porridge GF options which hit the spot for breakfast.

It's such a pleasure to eat at this place! Every dish is made with fresh, healthy ingredients without sacrificing flavor. You can really taste the quality of the products they use. The atmosphere is lovely, always clean and well-maintained. The staff is very welcoming and makes you feel right at home. And the coffee... it's simply perfect! Aromatic and full of flavor. I highly recommend it!

Open kitchen bar seating. I ordered the mushroom risotto for £11, the portion was very good and I was pleasantly surprised! However it was too salty so I did struggle to finish, it was tasty though just had to dial down on the salt. Not exactly Danish cuisine but this place was an affordable option, finally.

I came for the porridge. It wasn’t spectacular or hot, but it was tasty and I appreciated being able to customize the toppings. Great ambiance (credit goes to the marketplace it is a part of), but the caveat of this location is limited seating (not a bad thing—just know it is highly likely you’ll need to take your food with you).

Super delicious and healthy food & drinks, also you can have a seat in front of the shop at Torvehallerne. It is a good address to try matcha latte or chai latte as well but I would defined recommend you to try one of the bowls. It is quite tasty!

You can start your day with a perfectly cooked porridge. Well balanced salt and creamy texture match the fruits or nuts. Highly recommend!

We preferred to eat oatmeal and waffles. The waffles had a strong egg smell, which was a bit unpleasant, but the toppings were really delicious.

Very good call for winter and rainy days. I like the spicy ramen but the spicy level are not really consistent between last time and this time I ordered, but still love it. Chicken karrage and shrimp tempura are nice and juicy.

Honestly, you can find way better ramen for cheaper. The broth is not really that flavorful, the meat is overdone and dry, the eggs are overdone and not jammy in the center. The noodles are fine and the beers are great. I’ve tried them quite a few times and every time I leave disappointed unfortunately.

This is a gem! Genuinly excellent ramen! Taste, texture, visuals - perfect! The marinated eggs are to die for! Combine that with online table order, very short delays, respectable pricing, nice staff and a vibrant atmosphere with a lot of character, and the result is nothing short of awesome. I highly recommend giving this place a try, you wont regret it!

A Japanese-style ramen shop. Just like in restaurants in Japan, the free water service is a nice touch. There are many different types of ramen, and I ordered the spicy goma ramen and a bottle of beer. Unfortunately, the Japanese beer was out of stock, so I ordered a Japanese-style beer instead (made in Belgium). The noodles lacked a bit of springiness, but the soup was spicy and delicious. The braised cubed pork (so-called “kakuni”) and the soft-boiled soy egg were excellent. Of course, it’s a bit pricey in Copenhagen, but I recommend it if you’re craving ramen

I used to eat Spicy Miso Ramen here few years ago quite often. The kakuni (pork belly) was really amazing - almost falling apart from slow cooking with rich deep almost smoked-like flavor. Today it’s just a chewy pork-tasting blob of meat. Miso broth has none of that creaminess it used to have. So sad.

This place was really good, both the service and atmosphere! Very nice ramen, highly recommend, especially the spicy miso 🤌 Only drawback was the meat in the shoyu, a bit dry. Other than that, perfect place for ramen! Will absolutely come back!

Lovely old fashioned style bakery with a gluten free twist. I purchased a number of items then headed into a nearby park to eat them. The food was reasonably priced and the lady in the shop was very friendly.

This is such an adorable little bakery! And my personal vegan HEAVEN! So many delicious pastries and goodies to choose from. And many vegan treats etc in the shop as well! We shared a vegan chocolate croissant and it was a buttery chocolaty DREAM! There are no seating options available but you can take it to go, walk over to the botanical gardens, grab a coffee to go on the way and have yourself a little (solo) pastry date! PLEASE give this absolute gem of a bakery a try! Even if you are not vegan since it‘s simply DELICIOUS. Thank you for this wonderful experience!

Very cute small bakery with a huge range of vegan, gluten-free pastries. Especially the vegan Thebrikes was amazing. The Personal was also very helpful and kind. The Kanel Snegl was okay but nothing too special. Would love to return!

Great selection of glutenfree baked goods. Cinnamon rolls were outstanding! Croissants etc are not glutenfree. It’s a cute little store that also sells some organic groceries.

Stop 1 on the inevitable coffee shop tour of Copenhagen. This is a great start! Friendly barista, cute shop with a look that seems to blend classic Danish style with the better side of modern hipster, and most importantly a very tasty flat white. Will definitely be back since this is just around the corner from where I'm staying while I'm here.

I had a cappuccino with oat milk. Unfortunately, it was anything but drinkable. It ended up in the bin... I suspect the grinder was set incorrectly, as it tasted quite bitter.

Super cozy cafe with lovely staff, coffee and bread. Pastries are mixed - cinnamon buns are super but croissants/pain au chocolat and thebirkes are average. Main issue is not being able to work/use laptop except between 12-2pm which would be my main reason for staying, and buying several coffees. I unfortunately had to leave today because of this even if the cafe was empty! Something for the cafe to rethink… you are losing business because of this. Otherwise lovely little spot for a coffee date or to read a book and relax ☕️ I just won’t be back as often if I can’t work.

Absolutely the best croissants - both plain and chocolate. We came in thinking of trying 1, we end up munching down 3! The coffee is the smoothest Ive had in my 8 days here - Cortado is a must have. Much needed Cafe which focus on conversations. Perfect way to start my day!

It’s okay bakery in Østerbro with pretty pastries, but I am not a fan of such dough so fastelavnsboller were good but not something I’d want again. Blackcurrant one unfortunately didn’t have this real intense berry taste. Hot chocolate was a bit weird on taste, didn’t like it as expected. Maybe other pastries there are amazing but I tried only 2 fastelavnsboller. There are some seatings inside but no bathroom as it’s quite small

Super delicious. Although it’s a bit expensive I feel like it’s worth paying for the meticulous and delicate work that goes into their products. We tried the fastelavns bolle, as well as one of their lemon merengue cakes. Both were great, but since I am a big fan of citrusy desserts, the lemon takes the first price. I really found the outside of the fastelavnsbolle super interesting. It was like one big macaron, but crunchier and chewier. Great place for a pricey coffee date, and that’s not meant in a negative way. I mean it is expensive, but you also get some quality stuff. I enjoyed it a lot

A lovely cafe with wide selections of pastries and desserts including different choices of bite size treats to try. The matcha latte was also nice. Friendly service and a nice seating area to have a little break not far from the city center.

I found this pastry shop on the visitcopenhagen page and finally the last day we went. It is a MUST in my opinion. The place is amazing, the cookies are super tasty and lovely. Take your time, get a capuccino and get on with all the little biscuits you can eat.

What a little hidden gem in Copenhagen! The pastries were out of the world so as the Chai Latte! Staffs are so friendly and nice. Everything was done to perfection. We were the only customers I couldn’t believe this!!! Lemon biscuit and dark chocolate “cake” were so yummy! The neighbourhood was lovely and quiet as well. The perfect bakery cafe, especially for vegans/people with dietary restrictions! I came here as a regular for a quick vegan pastry or to come and read and get a coffee with a friend. All the drinks and menu items are so high quality. Every server was so friendly and loved talking to them! They had the best pastries ever, not an exaggeration. As someone who is allergic to dairy and eggs, I so so appreciated Kaf and their amazing pastries. Also, every person I took here said it was their new favorite cafe/bakery, and in cph, that is saying something!

What a lovely vegan gem in Copenhagen! An understated but stylish little cafe with a delightful selection of beautiful pastries and small dishes, plus a wide variety of hot and cold drinks. Highly recommend stopping in here for a try of some wonderful pastries- as good as any of the non vegan ones (better, actually!) Super kind baristas and servers here, everyone is so so nice and we were made to feel very welcome. The wonderful outdoor seating area is a huge plus on the sunny summer days - a truly lovely vibe here, I highly recommend this spot to everyone!

A must stop for any vegan in Copenhagen. Before ordering we were all double checking if everything was vegan because it looked too good to be true, but yes, everything is plant based. The pastries are incredible and give you a chance to taste the typical products and the cakes are light and tasty and the savory menu is great for brunch. Generous portions, nice staff and great prices. Can't wait to go back!

This is a fantastic vegan cafe! I really enjoyed chilling under the tree and having delicious food. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The menu is wholesome. The place has inside and outside seating: right next to the cafe or across the street and under a tree, which was lovely. It's located in a quiet area and it's a laptop and tablet free zone, which is refreshing to see. I had a toastie, matcha latte, and because I couldn't decide for desserts and everything looked delicious, I had the cheesecake and the strawberry tart. Everything was delicious but I must say, that strawberry tart is dreamy, super super awesome. I highly recommend visiting this place when you're in Copenhagen.

HEY GUY!! It’s me again, this time from Copenhagen. This little coffee spot really took our hearts 💕 STAFF - the staff was really nice, both girls were speaking fluent English and were so helpful. FOOD - they use just the premium coffee so that was really refreshing ✨also homemade cakes - cheesecakes. There not so many options with baked good but still, I think everyone will find something that suits them 🤍

This was the absolute highlight of our Copenhagen trip - good coffee, and absolutely amazing pastries and bread. The rhubarb pistachio pastry, the strawberry croissant and the pain au chocolat especially stood out among the sweet treats, while the cheesecakes didn't really blow us away. They also have sourdough bread rolls, which were so good we had to get another one. While there are only a few seats inside, there is plenty of outdoor seating in front of the store and under the trees across the street, which was quite nice. But beware of the pigeons ;)

The Curfew was a real highlight of our trip to Copenhagen! The ambiance is simply fantastic - stylish, cozy, and with a great atmosphere that immediately transports you to another time. The cocktails are not only delicious, but also creatively presented. An all-around special experience! A gluten free bakery that delivers! So much of what passes for GF in baking is functional, rather than tasty, but even to this non GF pastry lover, the quality and taste of the baked food was excellent. An essential stop for all people on a GF diet who have longed for decent pastries, or even for those who just appreciate a good bakery.

Best cinnamon roll ever!! Everything was so delicious i even doubted it being gluten free. The bread and cheese 10/10. I regret not buying more stuff

This super cute bakery is a delight, with fresh croissants that are perfectly flaky and buttery. The staff are incredibly warm and love to chat, which adds a friendly and personal touch to the experience. It feels like a place where everyone is welcome. The outdoor seating is right in the sun, making it a perfect spot to relax and fully enjoy yourself with a coffee and pastry in hand. The vibe is easygoing and cheerful, and everything we tried tasted freshly baked and made with care. A lovely little stop that is definitely worth a visit if you are nearby.

Dedicated gluten free bakery- perfect for coeliac! Very cute little bakery- tried a few things: Mocha cake was insanely delicious, creamy but not heavy such great texture and flavour! Also had the pain au chocolate which wasn’t my favourite… the brownie was very rich almost fudgy Tried a date and cardamom bread swirl which wasn’t quite dense but very nice flavour- made me wish I had bought some proper bread from there as the texture was excellent!

I found this amazing gluten free bakery by chance, thanks to the recommendation of another bakery that was closed when I contacted them. The treatment I received since the very beginning was close and kind. And their products are amazingly good. They have a wide offer of breads and pastries that look delicious. And all they I could try was so good that made me travel in time back to when I could eat gluten, more than 23 years ago. I think the almost permanent long line they have at the door to get their products says it all. Don’t worry for the line, they have enough for everybody!
