Firstly, the coffee. I am still looking for the best flat white in Norway. Det Lille Kaffekompaniet has come close but today the coffee was not hot enough. The coffee beans used had a very smooth and delicious flavor and the coffee was the correct double shot strength. The milk was creamy and that made the cappuccino enjoyable. Overall a good attempt and recommended. The service was good and they brought the coffee to you. There is indoor seating and outdoor seating for nice days.

My husband loved his flat white, and I had one of the best hot chocolates I’ve ever had. We also shared an oatmeal cookie that was fresh, homemade, and absolutely delicious. The café itself is the cutest little spot — tucked away so that as you walk through the pathway, you stumble upon charming photo-worthy corners. It’s just adorable, and I loved everything about it. I highly recommend stopping by if you’re ever in Bergen.

Such an amazing coffee shop! The staff were all so nice and my iced latte was delicious. I love the views that you can get from the cafe and the little neighborhood is so adorable. Sad I didn’t get to try any pastries but my fault for going so late in the afternoon. Highly recommend!

Hard working crew here. Baked goods were tasty but the cappuccino was the star of the show. My only criticism is that there isn't really a good place to wait when it's busy as it's pretty tight in there, and you likely will be waiting at least a few minutes. Your best bet is getting your coffee and/or treat and finding a shady/quiet spot nearby to enjoy it.

The carrot cake was insane. Very nice selection of coffees and was reasonably priced as well. Not a lot of things to eat though. But amazing carrot cake, amazing cinnamon buns also. Also saw date muffins, oat cookies, and some sandwiches. The carrot cake was 85 NOK. Very nice place to relax and be with friends. Great experience!

My sister and I visited Det Lille Kaffekompaniet after reading that the café—or at least the building it’s in—has been around for over 200 years! That alone gave it such a charming, historic feel. It’s a tiny little gem tucked away in Bergen, and although the inside seating was full, we sat outside and actually loved the cozy atmosphere with the fresh air. We ordered a slice of their carrot cake topped with a creamy frosting that had a hint of lemon in it—absolutely delicious! Moist, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. The highlight for my sister was the flat white, which was recommended by the super friendly barista. She loved it! You could really taste the quality of the coffee, and the milk was steamed just right. Even though it’s a small space, the staff made it feel warm and welcoming. It’s the kind of café that makes you want to linger and soak in the surroundings. Definitely a must-visit spot if you’re in Bergen and want a taste of good coffee, great dessert, and a cozy slice of history.

All good. Went in the evening around 7pm on a Thursday. Fish dishes were good and fish cooked well. Pleasant atmosphere, not stuffy, relaxed and chatty, it felt good. Order at the bar hence the lower stars for the service.

Amazing Place. The Cod was outstanding! We had a little miscommunication issue on my behalf and I ordered a shrimp plate that I was allergic to, but immediately was taken care and offered options. The service was friendly the second we walked in. We felt very welcomed. Great Spot! Definitely worth a try!! If I am ever back in Bergen this will be my first place. Great Job!

Nice cafe with quite good coffee. My V60 was slightly acidic (grind size a bit too big) and the wait time was 15 minutes when there were only 5 people in front of me because there was only one staff member on a Saturday morning during busy time, but on the whole decent. They have a good selection of coffees.

It really has the best flat whites I have one with soy next day with oat and both smooth and delicious. also had their toast with avocado and egg. The bread here is nice and thin but super filling and tasty. A great to find a small cafe instead of the touristy branded ones that serve mediocre coffee at best. ✨

This coffee shop has a great atmosphere and the service is warm and welcoming. With their many awards, I came in expecting the coffee to really stand out. Unfortunately, the quality didn’t quite meet those expectations. I ordered a flat white – while the presentation was nice, the milk texture wasn’t as creamy as it should be, and the espresso tasted a bit plain and lacked depth. Overall, it’s a lovely place to sit and enjoy the vibe, but I feel the coffee itself could be improved to match the high reputation.

Great place to chill and read. Both the filter and V60 are delicious. They let you pick any of the bags they have to make you on a V60, so it's like a taste if you are looking to pick up a bag too.

We ordered iced mocha, iced latte and hot mocha coffee. The iced drinks are bland (watered down by the ice?) But the hot drink was just the right taste. So maybe they should change the recipe for iced drinks to compensate for the ice? Huge space inside with a 2nd floor. They have selection of sandwiches and pastries too.

Entered 30 minutes before closing on my last night here as I had the cardamom bun and it was the best I had in the other branch (Flottmannsplassen). Worried that I couldn’t make it in time to enjoy sitting in the cafe to have it but the staff said that we could enjoy them in the store for about 30 minutes! Unfortunately, cardamom buns were sold out (understandable since it’s SO GOOD), so we got the cinnamon bun with custard instead and two hot drinks. Staff were all friendly and approachable even 15 minutes before closing, they’re still entertaining customers 🙏🏻🙏🏻 thank you for making my last night in Bergen so memorable!

We came in at 5:00 PM, which is a bit early for dinner there, but we had been traveling all day and had not had lunch. Thomas could not have been nicer and let us be the first guests for the evening in the dining room. Service was fabulous and dinner delicious. We had langostinos for a starter and my friend had the wolf fish and I had the green risotto. We came back the next evening for a drink in the bar in front. Also excellent.

This is my honest review of the restaurant Colonialen Litt in Bergen, Norway. This restaurant, located in the heart of Bergen not far from the fish market, offers a truly unique concept. No reservation on a saturday, such a tourist move (that’s on us). Three of us if you include our baby boy so yeah of course fully booked but the very kind hostess offered the sofa - which I can really appreciate. Thinking in function of the restaurant and customer experience. It was great. Good atmosphere, vibrant and young staff and no nonsense good food. We will be back in Bergen, and we will be back in Litthus!

Had a business lunch, and the waiter is not very responsive. Food is simple for lunch but decent, thus 4 stars. Their egg benedict looks great, but unfortunately I went for the mussels. I make better mussels so it didnt impress me much. Interior is not great, but if you like rustic style it is fine. Therefor only 3 stars for ambient and interior and 2-3 stars for service.

Fantastic location, particularly on a sunny day, but we felt the menu unfortunately let the place down. In terms of drinks, there weren’t really that many options, and the food was greasy. We had the sardines served with bread and butter. The bread had been deep fried in oil, the sardines were served in oil and it was served with butter and a slice of lemon, all a bit tasteless, not even a squeeze of lemon could cut through the oil. A side salad was on the online menu which would have helped, but this wasn’t on the menu in the restaurant when we arrived. All in all - a good place for a drink in the sun, but it could be better.

The pumpkin soup was absolutely amazing. Nice chill atmosphere, don't expect anything fabcy. There was no concert so it wasn't busy at all. Friendly staff. View of the water is amazing. Would definitely come back if it is possible to sit outside. More people dining alone than in groups.

The Mussels and fries are always a winner. Staff are always attentive as long as the sun hasn’t randomly come out and 5000 Bergensere have turned up for dinner unexpectedly.

We enjoyed the brown cheese on a waffle (64 kroner), it was a great way to try this Norwegian food! The cafe is cute with lots of places to sit inside and outside, and the staff was really nice. The man working the front counter was very outgoing. They have tap water to drink as well.

Beautiful little Café with top notch „La Marzocco“ coffee machine and freshly baked waffles and aaaaabsolutely delicious skillingbolle. The staff was super friendly. I love the Bryggen vibe with the wooden floors and houses and KAF fits in very well. Pro tip: the birds love the baked goods as well 😅

As soon as we entered, the staff had a big smile on his face ready to welcome us, felt really nice! We ordered Nutella waffles, they were no different from usual waffles with Nutella on it, but upon request he added cream on top of it as well, how sweet of them. The waffle was really soft and freshly made, felt so good having it. The place is a cute small place in one of the Bryggen Wharf alleys, very scenic and cozy. They also had hot drinks, alcohol and different sorts of beverages. There were people who entered the cafe looking for a box as a part of their treasure hunt adventure, I was intrigued, seemed really cool! But overall definitely recommend this place for the big smile, cozy and warm place, and really nice waffles! Specially on a rainy day.

Came here from a recommendation online! I was told to try the waffle with brown cheese. When I ordered, the very nice gentleman at the register asked if I wanted sour cream and jam as well. I told him I was only told cheese, but asked if I should get the sour cream and jam and he said yes, so I did 😂 I also ordered an iced dirty chai. The waffle was so interesting with all the flavors, but was very good. The cheese was very strong in my opinion and stuck out the most, but when I had a smaller bite of cheese, the other flavors came out more. I thoroughly enjoyed eating here. My iced dirty chai was okay, but not the great, didn’t seem to be much chai in it, but it was fine and I drank it with no complaints. 😄

I was freezing from the rain when I stepped into the Fjåk chocolate shop & cafe and it instantly felt like the perfect escape. I ordered the best hot chocolate I have ever had, which is called brown cheese white hot chocolate, specifically from the Fjak. The taste of the chocolate was truly exceptional – it reminded me of a perfect blend of creamy, salted caramel that just melted on my tongue. I also decided to try their orange-flavored option, which was a delightful and unique experience. Orange-flavored chocolate has been a favorite of mine since childhood, bringing back cherished memories. I wholeheartedly recommend you give their chocolate drinks a try when you're at their location; it's really worth sampling all of the different varieties they have available. Such a nice place. I ordered 100% hot chocolate in Spanish style. It was amazingly good. The barista lady offered us a try and let us decide if we really want to go with this unique strong flavor. This café specializes in cacao and tea-based drinks and has an impressive range of chocolates with different intensities, which can be enjoyed as drinks or in various chocolate specialties prepared on site. They also offer a selection of products you can buy to take home. The place is very popular, so seating is limited – there’s a tiny terrace at the entrance and just a few tables inside, quite close together. You’ll often need patience to find a spot, but it’s absolutely worth the wait. Despite the constant flow of customers, the staff remain cheerful and friendly, which makes the experience even more enjoyable. For anyone visiting Bergen, this is almost an obligatory stop.

Very popular and small cafe. I found it accidentally, 79 kr for a hot chocolate is not cheap, but tasted good. I like dark chocolate, but the most chocolate drinks you get in Norway are too sweet for me. This one is perfect. It’s a pity they don’t deliver to other places than Bergen . I bought 2, hope it tastes the same by making myself. The lady staff working there was very kind, even the shop is closing, helped me with all purchases:)

Their hot chocolate is creamy, chocolatey, and creative. Truly and really delicious. They have lots of different types- I tried their regular milk chocolate and the brown cheese. Both, delicious. I also tried their hojicha cherry drink and a blueberry milk chocolate bar as well which were both just okay. (If you’re a big time tea snob like me, this hojicha won’t cut it for you- it’s mild and grainy. But if you just want a fun, mild drink, it could work!) Come for the hot chocolate, it’s definitely worth it for that. Plus the outdoor patio in the back is so lovely to sit and lounge in.

Cozy small place to chill out even on Sunday (normally most shops are closed). They serve good sandwiches, coffee, tea, as well as beers. I also like red berries tea and apple cake, there are 10-12 tables to sit with many books and board games to play. Lovely!

Their ginger toddy slaps. One of the best hot drinks I've ever had. So good. The nachos are delicious, but could be better. Not enough cheese or salsa, pretty dry by the end. Thanks for having actual soft seating and not purely the wooden hard chair nightmares most public places think is sufficient (though there's some of that here too). The lady taking our order was a ray of sunshine on a cloudy day. Soup of the day is a great concept, bread, and butter that come with it were absolutely delicious. Cauliflower soup was also tasty, though I missed the creaminess a bit. The whole place is decorated with origami and there are some board games available so it's a nice place for a meeting with friends or a date when you're worried you won't be able to hold a conversation. After a certain hour the place serves alcohol so it's a café with an opportunity for brunch.

The place itself is charming and very cozy. Besides coffee offers they also have beer on tap. I only had a coffee americano and it was a bit too acidic to my taste. You have to order at a bar, but the service is really fast.

For my last day in Bergen, I wanted to explore less touristy neighborhoods, which led me to a cozy cafe called Nobel Popel. Place was pretty packed since the weather was sunny and it was the weekend, nevertheless I was able to find a place and got a cardamom and coconut cappuccino (63NOK) alongside a vanilla bun vanilla hun (44NOK). Gotta say, though the service was immaculate and the vibe was very cozy, both the cappuccino and bun were disappointingly flavourless.

The interior was extremely pleasantly designed, you could tell that someone poured their soul into that place. Also good sitting space with both sofas and chairs. The prices were not expensive, and staff very friendly, as we forgot to ask for oat milk (entirely our fault) they offered to remake our coffee free of charge. Sweet place, totally recommended!!!

The cafe is so peaceful, and simply beautiful. The brunch menu is surprisingly sufficient unlike many places in Norway. We had brownie, cappuccino, cortado and the shared brunch platter. The brownie was fine. The coffees were good; I also loved the cups. The shared brunch was both delicious and very satisfying with cheese, fruits, hummus and else. The bread served was also very fresh and delicious. All in all, it was a good experience.

We just had a tea because it was rainy outside but the cafe was so cozy and calm and the service very friendly! (+ amazing music playing) We were also happy that it was open until 8. If you want milk or honey in your tea you don’t need to pay extra! Also really pretty hood where the cafe is located. We recommend!!!🌺

Noble Bopple has always been one of my favorite cafés in Bergen. I used to come almost every weekend for their chili cappuccino and often for brunch with friends their food and atmosphere have always been pleasant. But recently I had an unpleasant experience. We were with friends and ordered lots of things it was only me that have some food sensitivities, so I had a small lunchbox with something I could safely eat. But I ordered my drinks and dessert from them. A lady who works there, whom I hadn’t seen before, came and spoke to me very rudely in front of everyone, telling me I couldn’t eat it there. It was embarrassing and uncomfortable, especially in front of everyone. She told me to close the box right away, and stood there until I did. I completely understand that it’s their café and their rules, and of course I followed what she said but the way it was said really disappointed me I still like this café, but I hope next time they treat customers with a bit more kindness.

Great place to get a snack. The prices are quite high but the quality is worth it. We took a Norwegian cheese plate (including the famous brown cheese) and it was really really good. If you wanna have a taste of Norway finest cheeses this is the place to go!

We had been looking for brown cheese for a while, specifically Brun Undredal which tastes like caramel flavoured fudge (beautiful stuff). We found it here along with other brown cheese. The assistant let us taste one other to compare, but Undredal was so much better. We wanted to use up our remaining currency before returning to Scotland. We had 116kr to spend. She cut us a block of the cheese and weighed and priced it. It was within 2 cents of the total. Amazing service, others have mentioned to other parts of the shop and it is certainly worthy of business.

Fabulous spot for local cheese and gourmet foods. The staff helped us pack a picnic lunch with cheese, charcuterie and breads. Bought wine around the corner at wine shop. Great option for a fun lunch while in Bergen awaiting our embarkation.

Friendly staff and a good selection of cheese and charcuteries available for take away or get a cheese board to eat there. They also offer salads and other gourmet foods. Service can be a little slow when they get busy, but they are nice and informative.

Top notch bread. Had hoped for more local charcuterie and cheeses. The butcher looks incredibly nice though we did not try it out.

The food here looked so delicious. I had a cinnamon roll and a hot chocolate. They were both excellent. The atmosphere was cozy, especially when it was pouring with rain outside! The staff were very friendly.

We just passed by this bakery & tried their Cardamom roll & cappuccino. Pastry looked all fresh & good, and cappuccino was also great. Downstairs seating might be little tight, but upstairs were specious. WC was outside of the cafe & needed a code but not charged for the bakery customers. Very nice cafe/bakery at Bryggen.

Our first visit to a café in this charming city. The coffee was good, the atmosphere pleasant, and there was a wide selection of homemade pastries and sandwiches.

Visited a few times on my trip, a great range to choose from and the baked goods are huge! The staff were really friendly too. They also have an outside area where you can buy drinks.

Enjoyed dining in at Baker Brun for breakfast with really friendly and cool staff. 😎 The total cost for all was around kr 250. Their "vanlige café" offers refills for just kr 15. The pastries were good and fresh. The pistachio bolle was tasty, though I think a slightly longer bake time could have made the dough more puffy, also the cream was soft and light with a hint of rum.

Simply the best spot for a really good coffee in town. Went there every single day on our Bergen stay, grabbed a flat white and sat down outside in the warming sun. In the morning the sun is positioned perfectly to enjoy its warmth at the tables outside. The coffee is perfect and they definitely know their craft. Highly recommended. Will miss this spot!

This cafe is wonderful! The baristas are so sweet and lovely, the coffee is excellent (and I am an espresso snob) and the overall vibe was gorgeous. The kanelcortado was particularly delicious, and our break from the rain here was a highlight of our time in Bergen! The baristas Gustav and Vilde were particularly lovely!

Yesterday i went there with a friend. We were welcomed very nicely and ordered at the bar: hot chocolate, caffe latte and some cake. It took about 5 min until we had our order and it tasted very delicious. Both cakes were very good. Nice atmosphere, so totally recommendable. I will definitely come back.

My friends and I had such a lovely experience on our first day that we went back a second time! Our baristas Gustav and Vilde were wonderful and the coffee was delicious. I pride myself on being a coffee snob and the Minas Islatte was one of my favorite drinks I’ve gotten!

a very good coffee and a made to measure chai tea without sugar. the cinnamon bun is delicious. very friendly staff, speaks norwegian and english ( is she british??) why go next door ( starbucks) if you can have good quality coffee instead and for a better price too.

On a cool and rainy evening in Bergen - and in a Sunday night, when many restaurants are shut early - it was a pleasure to have this cozy spot just a few minutes' walk from our Airbnb flat. A chèvre and ham toasted sandwich (in a panini press) on their own house-made bread was the perfect light supper. The caffe lattes were also excellent. Reasonable prices for Norway.

Very nice staff, great beer on tap, nice vegetarian burger and loads of games and books. A warm place with a great view.

Excellent cozy place to grab a coffee or a beer and some warm food. The room is small and full of books and fun signs. You are almost forced to talk to your neighbors. The bartender Lisbeth was very friendly and happy to suggest good things to do in Bergen. Prices are very reasonable for the area. Definitely recommended!

Great little cafe with very good food. We had the tagliatelle with bacon and the burger, both of which were full of flavor and delicious. Nice little selection of local beers as well. Plenty of coffee/pastry options, too.

As soon as you arrived you are welcoming by a lovely lady with a lovely SMILE . I had Fish Soup, it was really good. and of course I had a lovely homemade Carrot cake with a latte. I recommend 100% Excellent food , Nice people and Nice place . It was worth it !!!
