Fish restaurant
Located in the heart of Izmir, İzmir Deniz Restaurant has been a popular choice since its establishment in 1981. The restaurant offers a variety of seafood dishes including fish, calamari, shrimp, octopus and sardines as well as soups. The menu reflects the diverse marine ecosystem with locally-caught fish and other aquatic delicacies. In addition to seafood, there are options catering to broader tastes.
We asked our hotel where to have dinner, and they recommended Deniz Restaurant — and we’re so glad they did! The location is fantastic, right by the sea, offering a beautiful and relaxing atmosphere. But what impressed me the most was the staff. The team looking after our table was incredibly attentive and highly professional — they truly elevated our dining experience. The mezes were delicious, especially the samphire (sea beans) — absolutely amazing. And the fried calamari was top-notch. I highly recommend this place!
S Y — Google review
Went there because of their reviews, worth it, especially their calamari was very fresh, their meze was fresh too. The only issue was their bread, would expect a newly baked bread. The staff are very attentive and the atmosphere is nice for an hour or two.
Tanya H — Google review
I have searched for the best fish restaurants in Izmir and this restaurant kept showing on top list so i gave it a try. To be honest the food in Izmir is more expensive than Istanbul we paid almost 150$ for 2 adults 2 kids and we left hungry. They only had 3-4 types of fish to choose from for a fish restaurant. Many varieties on the menu we asked for they said they did not have. A common thing among restaurants in Izmir is that they charge for couvre ( which is basically the use of utensils and plates) such a weird concept in my opinion and never seen it before. Would not recommend it for sure.

İzmir Sea View Restaurant / If you're looking for a seafood restaurant with a stunning view, İzmir Deniz Restaurant stands out as one of the most beautifully located spots along the İzmir coastline. Especially at sunset, the sea glows in golden hues, creating a perfect setting for a romantic meal or a peaceful dinner with friends. The restaurant offers a refined ambiance and is popular among locals—always a good sign of authenticity. The service was attentive, and the environment was calm and sophisticated. While the sunset view is truly unforgettable and the setting feels upscale, there were some aspects that felt slightly underwhelming considering the price point. #IzmirSeaView #DenizRestaurant #SunsetDinner

I saw this place from a famous YouTuber video, as a tourist in Izmir I wanted to get a taste of Ege cuisine and Im glad I came to this restaurant the food quality and options were great and thanks to everyone in kitchen, however there are some things that really piss me off, first thing was Service, it was slow and highly biased, there were hidden charges which Are Illegal in Turkey like servis fee and charging 200+(7$)for just bringing water and plain bread, overall; the place the food and the atmosphere were great but at this price point and with all these added costs I recommend another place.
Pouya S — Google review
DO NOT EAT HERE The most disrespectful experience we have ever had. They bring several items to the table, which you do not order at the start, don’t communicate what they are for or that they are part of some “surcharge” they will apply to the bill at the end of your dinner, which is claimed to be “water, bread, olive” charge. We did not consume any of the items places on our table. We then didn’t have one of our meals delivered at all, but they put it on our bill, and service was woefully slow and I had to get up and pour my own wine. They didn’t even apologise for not bringing a meal to us but still tried to charge us for it. We questioned the charges at the end, which is where we were told about the “bread, olive, water” charge and for the meal we didn’t even receive. The waiters argued with us about the extra charge and wouldn’t let us pay until we paid it. This is appalling service for a restaurant with the reviews it has, and for somewhere our hotel recommended us to visit.
Y H — Google review
Honestly one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. The food was bland, poorly cooked, and felt like zero care went into it. For the prices they charge, the quality is shocking. There are far better places nearby; save your time and money and go elsewhere.Hands down one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. We paid nearly 17000 lira for food that was bland, poorly cooked, and served with zero care. The service was slow and dismissive, like we were inconveniencing them by even being there. For that kind of money, you’d expect quality, but instead it felt like a complete scam
Sav M — Google review
Me and my friend, 2 people , we ordered only 1 fish and 1 original rice, almost 3000 lira. Food is fine. But they charge us 250 lira parking fee. We parked on the street, but restaurant charges us parking fee , really unreasonable.

Tavacı Recep Usta in Alsancak, Izmir is a popular spot for those who love traditional Turkish cuisine. The restaurant offers a warm and inviting atmosphere where guests can enjoy a variety of dishes including succulent lamb, beef specialties, and skewered meats. With its rich menu and central location, Tavacı Recep Usta is an ideal choice for a satisfying meal with friends or family.
This restaurant is worth a detour to Izmir. The food here is fantastic and an experience on every bite. This is the chance to eat at a Michelin rated restaurant at an "affordable price" in comparison to US/Europe prices. This is a busy restaurant, so expect this to work a bit like a factory... Rush rush rush.
Diogo L — Google review
Listed in the Michelin guide and one of the most famous restaurants in the city, you can find tasty grilled meats here and lots of delicious sides. Ambience is excellent too.
Ryan H — Google review
Beautiful food and the warmest Turkish hospitality! The lamb was unforgettable, so tender it melts in your mouth. The restaurant has such a lovely vibe, especially around golden hour. We walked in on a Sunday evening without a reservation and were seated with no problem. Just a heads up, the menu doesn’t show prices. P.S.: The picture shows Recep Usta Sarma Kebab, which also extremly savory
Asaoto O — Google review
Definitely the best restaurant I’ve been so far in Izmir. The one, that makes you think: why should I dine somewhere else? The food is excellent! Although some members of the staff speak only Turkish, the are always very kind and are supported by their colleagues. Unfortunately this time I forgot to make the picture of the food, but I can assure you that it was worth coming in.
Ewa S — Google review
Really enjoyed having dinner here’s superb service, top quality food, cosy dining vibe and decent deco on the wall. Truly michelle star restaurant!
Северное С — Google review
Although I don’t like the taste of the “kuyruk yağı”( smelly animal fat) they use for multiple menu options including their complimentary eggplant dolma and içli köfte, they absolutely deserve to be Michelin star restaurant! Thanks for great experience!
IN C — Google review
Great food, but quite expensive! They bring you a bunch of complimentary starters and dessert - we liked the spread but it may not be to everyone’s liking. It is absolutely massive and packed, and the staff do their best to keep up. Not a big fan of all the cats roaming around, given that this is quite a high end restaurant.
Zasha O — Google review
Very popular, nice place. Food is overrated. Not special. So you pay for atmosphere. The meat on my plate was chewy, nothing special. Ordered some other dishes for sharing no special taste. Just regular from sensory experience.

Alsancak Dostlar Fırını is a must-visit bakery in Izmir, offering a delectable selection of boyoz, an unleavened pastry that has become a symbol of the city.
Wanted to try the Boyoz, and I got so happy I did Many different fillings Tried one with spinach, one with mozzarella and spices, and one with chocolate All are delicious Highly Recommended

Alsancak Dostlar Fırını is a must-visit bakery in İzmir! I tried their vegan boyoz options contain aubergine , artichoke, and aegean herbs, and they were absolutely delicious—flaky, flavorful, and fresh. The staff is friendly. Highly recommend for anyone looking to try authentic and vegan-friendly pastries!
Yagmur I — Google review
Rate:⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A fantastic spot for authentic Turkish breakfast! Their specialty, Boyoz, is simply amazing — perfectly crisp and flaky on the outside with delicious fillings inside. The flavors are rich yet balanced, and surprisingly well-suited to Asian taste preferences. Definitely worth a visit if you want to try a true local delicacy.
Edward D — Google review
The best and most famous boyoz shop in Izmir. They have a nice variety of boyoz. My favorite are pastirma, minced meat, and chocolate ones. The rest is ok but some of them have a little stuffing like the mozzarella cheese one which has a very little amount of cheese in it. Don’t forget to order their special kahvaltilik sauce and tulum cheese. Have a tea and enjoy 🫖

Review of Dostlar Firini coffee shop Izmir tues 17 Dec 24 Had traditional Turkish tea Served variety of pies Always busy for fresh on the go pies or just a Turkish tea Seating inside and outside watching the crowd pass by Friendly staff
Biker R — Google review
The boyoz here is absolutely perfect – soft inside, crispy outside, and full of authentic Izmir flavor. If you’re in Alsancak, Dostlar Fırını is the best place to enjoy this local specialty. A must-try!
Ferhat Y — Google review
Very fast service, almost no waiting time. You have to list your order twice, once to eat and later to pay. There are 16 sorts of boyoz including sweet ones. The shop is well located on the most vibrant street on İzmir. Boyoz is the local defining food of izmir, structure like börek and is good for breakfast, brunch or even lunch.
Mohamed E — Google review
Inexpensive pastries that make for a nice breakfast. I had to wait in line for about three minutes. Among the flavors: spinach, spinach and cheese, mozzarella, chocolate. 50 Liras each as of August 2025, 25 liras for a cup of tea, 100 Litas for a limonata. You get the pastries at the counter. They bring the drinks to the table. Happy customer. 5 stars!

Bakery
Breakfast restaurant
Zeynel Ergin Gevrek Fırını, also known as simit, is a renowned bakery in Izmir, Turkey. Unlike the simit of Istanbul, their pastry is cooked for an extended period to achieve a crispier texture and is generously coated with sesame seeds. This beloved breakfast item is often enjoyed with cheese, olives, and tea in the pleasant Izmir climate.
Lovely authentic bakery with the freshly baked gevrek. Try the chocolate, mushroom, yoghurt cheese, spinach pastries - all of which are good! Have them with Turkish tea and life is perfect :) parking is a bit tricky, better to come on foot.
Christina K — Google review
I tried two Boyoz (one plain and one with spinach filling), and something like a croissant filled with chocolate. The Boyoz were reaaaaally nice and the spinach tastes so fresh, if u are a chocolate lover the croissants are also very full filling (literally). Also the nice weather and the chill atmosphere outside added to the overall good experience:)
Finja K — Google review
While visiting from Australia, we popped into this bakery on our 2 last days in Izmir. Each time, we tried different flavoured Boyoz - all of which were tasty! My highlight was the chocolate filled croissant-type pastry which was so full of chocolate and absolutely delicious.
Dijana P — Google review
I really enjoy Turkish food and snacks, but I feel this place is a bit overrated. You don’t get any special service, but the crowded and lively atmosphere has its own charm.
Kaveh K — Google review
Had breakfast at this place yesterday. Their tomato cheese sandwich is great. Simit was average due to hardness. The overall experience was very nice. Highly recommended their cheese sandwich.
Almas K — Google review
Really enjoyed Zeynel Gevrek Bakery. The gevreks were fresh and perfectly crisp; other pastries were also tasty. Friendly service and a clean place — great for breakfast or a quick snack.
CakilKayi — Google review
If you want to have brunch or afternoon tea/coffee, near the distinguished Kültürpark, there is this an authentic pastry that you should visit! One of the waiters could speak English and help us as the tourists to understand the menu. We ordered Gevrek, Kumru & Boyoz (one with mushroom & one with chocolate). All of them are delicious!!! The atmosphere is really nice too, you can spend time hours with reading books or chatting with your friends/loved ones, especially during the sunny day. They have indoor & outdoor spaces.

Neighborhoods
Kemeraltı Bazaar is a historical district in Izmir, stretching from the ancient Agora to Konak Square. It's a lively area with local shops, eateries, workshops, mosques, and more. The bazaar offers traditional Turkish handicrafts, ceramics, carpets, leather products and more in its indoor and outdoor spaces. The bustling market is the heart of Izmir's shopping scene with modern business centers, shops, cinemas and cafeterias catering to all kinds of shoppers.
We visited Kemeraltı Bazaar on a Saturday — it was quite crowded but had a lively and authentic atmosphere. The bazaar is extensive and offers almost everything: clothing, accessories, fixtures, sweets, butchers, restaurants, and more. A great place to experience local culture and shop for a wide variety of items in İzmir.

This place is huge. One can find anything from printing service to suits and souvenirs. Of course there are a lot of restaurants and cafes. There is no need to visit every corner of it. Maybe just casually stroll and see where one is lead to.

Beautiful place, lots of stores to buy just about anything. Some are cheap and others expensive. Cool experience seeing the historical building and having a tasty Turkish coffee in the middle of the market. It’s closed on sundays. Free to walk around

Unique bazaar as there is no goods and shops for tourists. Most of famous bazaar in Turkey is full of shops for tourist with expensive price. But here, most of customers are Izmir people. I like this bazaar. Merchants are friendly and kind! Visit here and feel some authentic turkey bazaar vibe!
Mothusi — Google review
The best part of our trip was a visit to the bazaar. It is massive and full of interesting shops. Wear comfortable clothing and shoes. Be mindful of the middle men and prices can be high. Plenty of places to eat. Take time and make a day of it
Queen B — Google review
Kemeralti bazaar is quite a busy place. You can find hundreds of things to buy from there as the prices are reasonably low. Make sure you have enough space in your suitcase before visiting the bazaar because there are too many souvenirs to buy. There are beautiful bags with Turkish embroidery patterns and praying beads and countless teas and coffees. There are numerous cafes to have a quick bite but they are all super busy. This bazaar is a must visit place.

Italian restaurant
Ristorante Pizzeria Venedik is a popular Italian restaurant in Izmir, known for its delicious pizza, pasta, and desserts. Since 1979, it has been a top choice for pizza lovers. The restaurant's cozy Venetian decor and traditional Italian dishes attract diners from all over.
I've visited this place twice. While the prices are a bit high, the food is excellent. Their specialty is pizza, but I personally love the Linguine Gamberi pasta. They give complimentary limoncello
Shirly C — Google review
Cool place, nice atmosphere. I ate lasagna, it was average not very good but still tasty. The soup was also nice but the tomato soup is not in turkish style but more like Italian kind. Pizzas were good. They offered us three lovely shots at the end which was very kind 🙋🏽‍♂️ also, it is a bit expensive but very chic inside! 🤓
Yiğit T — Google review
I had an amazing pasta with fresh ingredients 🫠 My friends had pizza also very delicious, not heavy and a great portion for one person. 😍
Emine S — Google review
It was my second time at this pizzeria, surprisingly for Turkey, it didn’t get spoiled, even got better in my opinion. Prices are quite reasonable for this place, I really recommend trüflü burrata (my fav from now on). It was my birthday, and I didn’t like the place we chose (it was La Cigale), the staff at Venedik was very agreeable and welcoming, they even could speak English (though there was no need). The pizzeria was actually crowded, but we were sitting in a separate hall alone with my husband (gave me another special vibe). I was truly full, hopefully, I’ll try your dessert next time✨
Nelli N — Google review
This place is divine! Food was amazing my husband had x2 risotto and I had the Ragu, our waiter was friendly and helpful and spoke English well. The atmosphere was a sweet romantic setting, beautiful music playing Highly recommend Ristorante Pizzeria Venedik
Katie C — Google review
A Michelin-listed pizza joint in the heart of İzmir. Hot, piping pizza filled to the edge with toppings is served in a casual, Italian atmosphere.
Jason L — Google review
Place where you can feel real Italian vibe. Pasta is really good, but carbonara was a little bit salty, recommend to ask for pepper. Pizza has thin, soft, tender dough. Fresh greens, good wine. Caramel dessert was not satisfying. Prices are also high (490₺ for cheese wheel). Service is little bit slowly and suspended. You every time need to attract attention of waiters. Staff speaks English a little.
Polina K — Google review
Be careful! It was okay. Nice staff and atmosfeer, the vegetarian tortellini was tasteful but a bit small. The only thing that really annoyed us that they didn't tell us the bread had to be paid: they just put it on our table but didn't bother to tell us we were going to get charged for it. This is cheating.

Izmir Sakız Alsancak Restaurant is a popular spot for both locals and tourists, offering a fast and fresh lunch during the day and transforming into a lively meyhane-style eating and drinking establishment at night. Located on the waterfront by the Pasaport pier, it is known for its sensational fresh seafood dishes, including favorites like octopus with eggplant and sea bass wrapped in chard.
Loved the calamari, I ordered twice 😄 Octopus without eggplant paste would be better I think. Location is amazing, good view even though it was rainy day. Nice people & service. Would for sure recommend.

Got to this restaurant.. the setting is abit fancier compared to other nearby cafe/restaurant. The food exceeded our expectations, we ordered the sea bass and grilled octopus. They absolutely surprised us. The house wine couldn’t be lovelier pairing for the seafood 😍
Shui W — Google review
My best meals in Izmir for the trip were here. Grilled sea bass was fresh and tasty, their seasonal salad featured greens at their best, and the grilled octopus was simply sublime. We also had a bunch of other amazing side dishes such as the Fava broad bean pate, and believe it or not, they served the best grilled chicken I’ve had in Türkiye. Not bad for a seafood restaurant! They also serve good local wine
Ryan H — Google review
Great, inviting restaurant. On waterfront. Good menu - seafood, red meat, chicken, salads, mezze, cold beer and decent wine options. Service was efficient and friendly. Ordered mezze - Fava (Broad bean pate) delicious, with dill, red onion. Mains: Crispy calamari (tender, but very very small sized pieces even as an entree) came with aioli yoghurt, Izgara Köfte (grilled meatballs) served with grilled tomato, pepper, rice, onion, fries - meat was tender. Mixed salad with feta: very minty, tomatoes, lettuce, cucumber - no feta???? but shaved cheese on top???? and an overload on red onion. Settled bill via credit card 3,300 TL, including bottle of white wine and water.

We had an amazing experience here! Delicious food, the price was totally fair, the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was welcome and cozy. This was the only evening we had time for dinner and we sought Google Maps for a restaurant near our hotel. İzmir Sakız Alsancak Restaurant was the choice we did and were happy with our choice. We sat outside despite cold and wind, but they turned the heater on, so it was fine. There were few people in the restaurant, but later more people arrived. We had 5 dishes and 3salads some drinks and a bottle of wine. We enjoyed the dinner, especially the fish that I already missed. The service was fast and they were very polite. However, at the end we had unpleasant situation that spoiled the visit. They gave us the bill for 150USD, but when we decided to pay with card, I gave it to my daughter and she went to pay, they charged us additional 10%... As an Uzbekistan citizen I got used to this stuped way of business as the government by making bad laws makes people break the rule. So when I visit abroad I can relax as people do not try to cheat you this way…Anyway, what happened has happened, The restaurant is good, just pay with cash and you will have no negative emotions )

Kordon Yengeç Restaurant in Izmir is a perfect spot for groups who enjoy communal dining. The restaurant's trendy and urban interior features a blend of blue and grey tones, with chairs on one side and couches on the other, creating a stylish atmosphere. Known as one of the best fish restaurants in Izmir, it offers a unique dining experience with its chic design and pleasant ambiance, complemented by views of the Kordon.
Had a wonderful dinner at Kordon Yengeç. The grilled seabass 🐟was excellent, juicy, tasty & fresh 😋. Plenty option of cold salad. Cold mackerel was recommended. Good services with nice ambience. Though we're seating oudoor, it was covered & sheltered with warm dining area. Overall it's a recommended place to eat in Kordon area at Izmir.
Riki K — Google review
In general the food was nice: fresh and tasty. The disappointment however stays when you leave the restaurant with a feeling of being ripped off. If you pay 500 + 550 (over 20€) for a couple of fried rings of calamari and a few octopus served together on a small plate than you really don’t want to come back there again.
Ewa S — Google review
Restaurant is good, quality of food is satisfying, good position on the Kordon; you have a good selection of fish and meze. Not cheap.

Nice fish restaurant mainly for local people. Do not forget to book your table before coming. In the evening the restaurant was full. White local wine was served perfectly cold in a bucket with ice. Recommended!

This place is a TOURIST TRAP- Their menu does not have prices for fish entrees or Mezze's. They will ask you to order by looking at these items kept on display in a glass display room. We ended up paying £50 just for some Mezze and a fish. Luckily, that's the only thing I ordered. None of them were worth it. Don't be fooled by the positive reviews!! You don't eat fish here, You are the fish for their dinner!!
Andreea M — Google review
Only good thing about this place is that my fish fillet was perfectly grilled. Other than that, this place is a total tourist trap. Everything else we tried was mediocre. They offer no menus, and when I insisted, they brought one without any prices next to each platter! Waiter insisted that we ordered standing in front of window refrigerators where appetizers were standing without any description (or price, of course), and without anyone being able to explain in basic English (just a few english words here and there). Very expensive for Turkish standards, even for a fish restaurant. I noticed a Completely different approach when it came to local (turkish) customers, which makes me believe pricing was different too.

Very nice restaurant. You can reserve a table inside or in the terrace. They offer chicken, meat, and fish based meals. there is a long list of appetizers and starters to choose from. The desserts are delicious as well. It is really worth visiting!

Meşhur Hisarönü Şambalicisi 1942'den Beri is a renowned establishment located behind the Hisar Mosque, offering traditional desserts and sweet treats with a focus on the famous Izmir street dessert, sambali. This unique dessert has its origins in Izmir's diverse cultural influences and is made from almond-studded semolina, yogurt, and sugar, soaked in sweet syrup.
I had the pleasure of visiting Meşhur Hisarönü Şambalicisi, and it was an unforgettable experience! The şambali here is absolutely amazing – perfectly balanced in sweetness and with a delightful texture that melts in your mouth. The flavors are authentic and truly a treat for the taste buds. The staff was incredibly nice and welcoming, making the experience even more enjoyable. If you're in Izmir and love traditional desserts, this is a must-visit spot. Highly recommended!

Good for a quick snack. If you have never tried it, get one per person with kaymak. Don’t forget the tea.
Atakan ( — Google review
We were really happy with the quirky server that was really accommodating and the sweet that was ok in the beginning, but then came the bill. We paid 19€ (680TL) for 2 desserts, and we have gone to Michelin star restaurants and have paid less, and their card machine was "broken" and my bf got lost in the agora to find a working ATM. Ultimately, it was really expensive, not that great, and only accepts cash because it scams people. Be careful if you are a foreigner, just do not go there.
Anthi C — Google review
One of the most famous desserts originating from Izmir. Meshur Hisaronu Sambalicisi is serving since decades in this location and it’s an awesome place if you’re up for some sweets and tea. You should try the Sambali with extra cream (kaymak)!

First time i tried this sweet. Highly recommended. Really delicious, soft in the middle but crunchy outside. Sweet and with a bit of a nutty flavor. On top, kaymak! Price is allright too, 5TL not bad.

İzmir’s famous street dessert Şambali ”Shumbalee”. Made of semolina, peanuts and syrup. Not too sweet crunchy outside, soft inside good slider after having your lunch next door Söğüsçü. I was born and raised in Izmir. I had this dessert many times before, yet this one is the best. I highly recommend you to try it just like in the video. With cream and cinnamon.
Seckin D — Google review
"samba", is a super delicious small dessert, their specialty. Not too syrupy (like some baklava), not fibrous (like baklava), denser than cake (a small finger-size piece is just right size), very tasty. Especially with cream filling (or 'extra cream' if you ask). Seems the only thing they do here and do-it-well they certainly do. Most folks come in large parties, and all order same thing, the sambali with a top of ice cream. Good fun. And...it's not too expensive (90TL for 2 coffee, 2 tea and 2 cakes) relative to other 'fine' dessert shops in town (e.g., Sevinc, Leone) where leaving <150TL is tough to do. There's also some history to the place, the original 1942'ish shop is still standing there (deserted). Seems they also serve the little dessert around the Kemeralti market, whole trays of the little cakes flying out. Seating only outdoor, store front, under shade, lots of activity, drum bands going by etc, usual market chaos and energy. Great place to enjoy a special little treat and a coffee. Seating is not very comfortable, crude wooden tables and benches, made for short people with no legs, but it's ok... Indeed many folks buy the little cakes and keep going (although eating and walking is not usually a Turkish/European behavior). Service fast and friendly, in english even. Selection is slim but that's the point: go there for the sambali, that's all they do.

It's hard eating out when you don't speak the language. The first time I had two fish, they were fried and the chef was eager to please. We had a lovely meal at Balmumu Dükkan, which serves homemade food. Since it was artichoke and goat season, we made sure to try both — and they were just as seasonal and well-prepared as the rest of the menu. My husband booked this French restaurant to dine out on my Birthday. Actually, we’d been there before, probably, 2-3 years ago. The place got renovated, but I was totally disappointed. First of all, the terrace was fully open, and I simply couldn’t hide from hot weather, the air conditioner wasn’t working as powerfully as it should have. Other than that, the menu didn’t have French dishes or anything worth trying. Pricing wasn’t reasonable either. I still nostalgically remember that beautiful evening in winter with live music, delicious food and exquisite interior. In the end, we simply left without ordering anything. I’ll never come here again

We visited on a Wednesday with a reservation, but the place was actually quite empty during the week, so you can also go without one. The staff were very kind and attentive, and the atmosphere was warm and pleasant. The menu doesn't have endless options, but it's clear, well-selected, and the dishes are delicious. On the downside, the appetizer bread we got was a bit stale, and the portions felt relatively small. Still, it's a lovely spot where you can enjoy a glass of wine and good conversation. Definitely worth a visit!

This is my fourth time here. We come here because of the vibe. Food is not impressive. Nevertheless this dish ‘la cigale’ was really the worst. It is written.. Fresh pasta with gorgonzola sauce and walnut with spinach??? First… the pasta was NOT FRESH one. The sauce was hardly found or tasted like gorgonzola but more cream. The taste was very bland! Very disappointed… The other dishes were mediocre 🙄🙄

The paella wasn’t well cooked, smelled bad , the rice was hard , wasn’t well cooked, had lot of cream or water . It was like porridge. The meat plate was so bad , couldn’t eat it. We left it that way . We told the waiter how bad the food was but didn’t care. Avoid this restaurant. I don’t understand how they got all these reviews.

However, when the shashlik arrived, I could say we forgot all about the appetizers. It was tender, cooked just right, and the marinade was delicious. I'm including the bill as a reference; the prices are reasonable. I recommend you try the shashlik. It's a meat restaurant, as the name suggests, and after such a dish, there's no reason to deduct points. I'll be back. Well done. (Original) Köpoğlu, biber tarator, kavun peynir güzeldi. (Translated by Google) We frequent other taverns on this street, so we decided to try this one this time. It was around 6 p.m. when we arrived, and the place was empty, so I can say we got good service. I don't know if it's busy. We tried things like shashlik, liver, and sweetbreads wrapped in kokoreç, and they were all delicious! The shashlik, in particular, was wonderfully marinated, tender, and juicy. Definitely try it. The mezes were also delicious, and the meze portions were enough for three people—not tiny, I mean meze portions, which is good. We had 70 lira rakı and the meats I mentioned, four different mezes, and salads, for 2200 TL per person. Fruit was served. It might seem a bit pricey, but I was very pleased with everything, and we ended up eating meat. Considering we usually pay around 1400 TL at places where we only eat meze and raki, I think the prices aren't bad. The shop is narrow and narrow, and might be a bit cramped for groups of more than four. Smoking is allowed inside, which might bother some. There are things like that. Other than that, we were very pleased. It's a nice establishment.

It has more of an after-work, Sunday afternoon brewing atmosphere. There is only one negative, even though the closing time appears to be 2pm, they start turning off the lights after 12 at night, even if there are customers sitting in the place. I find this move very disrespectful.

Çelebi Unlu Mamuller is a renowned bakery in Izmir, known for its delicious dessert called 'Bomba.' This popular treat is a specialty of Izmir cuisine, featuring a luscious liquid chocolate center encased in a delicate dough shell. While Bomba has gained fame across Turkey, Çelebi Unlu Mamuller is considered one of the best places to savor this delectable dessert.
Bomba is an Izmir specialty best enjoyed here. It’s basically a thin pastry with a filling. The chocolate is actually Nutella. The pistachio/tahini is actually just peanut. Not in love with the fillings tbh but glad I tried it here. Expect a crowd.
Jane N — Google review
There was a huge queue when I arrived at Çelebi Unlu Mamuller, which is always a good sign that a place is worth checking out. Since it was packed and I couldn’t find a free table, I decided to grab a mix of their little desserts—chocolate, pistachio, coconut, and caramel—to take away. Just as I was heading out, I lucked upon a vacated table and figured I might as well dine in. The chocolate was absolutely delicious, the pistachio was a bit too sweet for me, caramel was decent, and the coconut—which I’d ordered two of—was okay, but I probably would have been happier with just one. But overall, so yum! Considering the economical pricing, this place is definitely worth a stop if you’re in the area.
Omz ( — Google review
A super popular dessert spot in Turkey! I went around 9:30 p.m. and there was still a long line, so I decided to try it. Ordered the classic chocolate and pistachio bombas—they’re served hot with a crispy outside and tasty filling. I liked the chocolate one more, but both are very sweet, so keep that in mind if you don’t have a big sweet tooth.
Edward D — Google review
Generally delicious if not over filled and messy, I'm not sure so much what the hype is about as it's just Nutella in dough but I appreciate the traditional desert. Service was quick, atmosphere, no seating as it's very busy. Probably wouldn't buy again as it's just to messy to eat.

Today we went to this kumru place in Izmir and placed our orders. Unfortunately, our experience was quite bad. The waiter was unhappy, the kitchen staff were unhappy. Our orders kept coming wrong one after another. The ones we asked for without tomatoes came with tomatoes. We asked for a baked potato with butter, but it came without butter. We called the manager to complain, but they didn’t believe us. I really don’t understand this kind of business mentality. In the end, we left the place without eating our orders. What a shame. Very nice small Meyhanesi, on a quiet side street. There is no menu, the owner speaks a little English, the server did not. It is customary to order Raki to drink (pour some into you glass then add ice a a splash of water). They bring you a number of appetizers which you can choose from. Then the owner asked me beef, lamb, cheese? I said lamb no cheese. In the end I got my 3 appetizers, toasted bread, raki, salgam (fermented carrot drink), the most delicious and juicy lamb kabobs, and a Turkish coffee to top it off. Total cost was 650tl (about $35 US- the raki was 1/3 of the bill) which is way more than any other meal I’ve had in Turkey, but it was worth it. Split between 2 or more people the prices would be reasonable. The staff were patient with me, I took my time to eat and never felt rushed. Definitely recommend you try it.

(Translated by Google) This is the right choice to eat kumru in Kemeraltı. The only problem is that since the dove is small in size, one may not be enough if you are very hungry. I'm normally a small eater, but I wasn't completely full, so I took off one star. Apart from that, I liked that they used Kars kashar and quality sausage. The place is quite small, so there are small tables and stools in front of it. It may not be suitable for those who expect a luxurious place, but it is useful to go there knowing this. I found it cute and perfect for a snack. Prices are also reasonable; A turtle dove costs 100 TL, tea costs 15 TL. Would I go again? Yes, but this time I'll eat two doves. Tekrar gider miyim? Evet, ama bu sefer iki kumru yerim. :)

(Translated by Google) In Turkye, dessert must be eaten once after lunch and once after dinner. Introducing Izmir's traditional dessert that is so addictive and irresistible that once you taste it, you won't be able to get over it. The name Şambalisi is an unfamiliar dessert, and even if you look it up, you won't find much information. It contains all kinds of delicious things. There are several styles and even one with the famous kaymak. There isn't much information about the store, but it is actually a small packaging specialty store located in one of the alleys of Kemeralty Market. The friendly owner, who looked like a very manly man, was running the business alone. I ordered a Shambali with the photo I prepared, and I think this is probably the most gorgeous style of Shambali sold here. They cut a piece out of a large mold, added toppings, and placed it in a plastic container. While the outside was baked hard, the inside was very easily crushed like a bean jelly, so I looked it up and found out that the dough is made with semolina powder. Finely ground chestnuts were placed inside the dough, and coconut and kaymak powder were sprinkled on top. As soon as I put the sticky piece on my fork into my mouth, an exclamation of exclamation came out of my mouth. The dough was soft yet very moist, and the chestnuts were chewy together, adding a contrasting crunchiness. Coconut and kaymak powder added creaminess and a rich milk flavor, and were a perfect match for the dough with its grainy texture. Although Turkiye food may not be as good as before, the desserts are still new! Amazing spot in Izmir with the greatest view!! We enjoyed our evening in this restaurant mainly because of the beautiful view it has towards the sea. Also, the food was delicious! We ordered shrimps, some starter platters (meze) and adana kebap. We enjoyed our food a lot, but I personally didn’t like the hummus. Adana kebap was really great. A local brought me to this place and I don't regret it. Good food and the idea of the kokorecci itself is quite unique, all I can say is you should definitely try it at least once in your life.
Victor B — Google review
Not a fancy restaurant, don’t expect shiny tables and new dishes. This is a street food restaurant, which makes the best kokoreç ever you would get. It is always fresh and never disappoints for its taste. It is usually closed on public holidays. So call before you get there.
Seckin D — Google review
The kokoreç was actually awful, the worst I have ever had in Izmir. Additionally, I have never seen a restaurant run so poorly, the service was so unprofessional and slow that we had to get our own drinks from the fridge! On top of that, each item we ordered came to our table at a different time. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
Hald 3 — Google review
Pretty bad service. Took 50minutes to get our orders. And checked 3 times the status. Turned out they just forgot about our order

Kokoreç since 1960s👏👏 This place has a 60 year old history. And again, I love places where they keep the quality at the same level for a long time. They have another branch nearby but this is the original place. Their kokorec is different, it is bigger and juicy. Even heard that people come from other cities to try the food here🔥

Very well made Kumru with quick serving and price. The view to the sea is also amazing. Recommended.

Murano's Kitchen is a trendy and spacious Italian restaurant located in Izmir, offering a delightful dining experience. The restaurant prides itself on using the finest ingredients to create beloved Italian flavors with a simple cooking approach. Their wood-fired pizzas and daily handmade pastas are particularly noteworthy, complemented by freshly baked breads made from ancestral wheat flour sourced from Kastamonu.
Murano’s Kitchen in Alsancak is a lovely spot. We tried the mushroom and oyster fungi dish — earthy, well-seasoned and beautifully plated — and paired it with an Aperol Spritz that was light and refreshing. Friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommend for a casual evening out.
CakilKayi — Google review
Good pizza, cold beer - that we had to pour ourselves, strange with so many servers hovering around. Got charged for a bottle of premium water that we didn’t request. But it was a really good pizza!!
Maggie’s K — Google review
Main thing- food was delicious! Beautiful interior. Management, if you read this, tell your staff that if they bring anything to the table that has to be charged- they have to let customers know about it (in our case, waiter poured water without asking us and then I found water in a bill). Then plz, we have chosen your afternoon tea but the price is not mentioned in a menu. We asked how much is it and waiter or a manager (guy was in a blue suit) said “let me check it”. Seriously… staff doesn’t know the prices of your lunch offer? And BTW he said it is 900 but in a bill it is 950. When the other waiter came to us and we said that we want to have afternoon tea, he said “ok! With 2 Prosecco”. But we told him plz bring the aperol, and his face was like he has never heard about even the existence of Aperol spritz. You have service charge by default included in a bill. Why? I didn’t want to leave this amount of tips. When I asked if it is possible to remove it the answer was “sorry it is already included to the whole bill”.
DMTR — Google review
The seafood spaghetti was just bad. The pasta texture is not al dente at all, very mushy. It was also lack of taste. The amount of seafood was very little for 4xx ₺ It was my first time eating here and got already bad impression. The other dish was ok but the pasta was too thick.
PP K — Google review
the food was great, however medium meat was cooked well done, now i definitely know in Turkey i have to say rare to get medium, also the meat was cooked unevenly, they should tie a string to prevent that. Otherwise, one of the better restaurants I have been to in Turkey, the service is spectacular. Definitely should order the Tiramisu and Risotto was also cooked to perfection.
Lara A — Google review
Loved it, food was excellent, drinks came a little late, service was exquisite! They didn't speak English though. Pricey for what it is.. but the taste and service honestly do justify the price. I've been looking for a classy Italian restaurant in Izmir for quite some time. Loved it!

Was looking for Italian options in Izmir and came across this one. Offers wide selection of food and drinks. Taste wise it was just fine. Staff was attentive but felt like over friendly as they tried to offer things without asking which was rude in my opinion. Overall atmosphere was okay but lacked Italian flare. Clean toilets available downstairs.

Really good Italian food, pretty big portions of salad and not so much of pasta, so I can recommend that collab. Good varieties of wine. Recommend to reserve a table, but need to call, they read WhatsApp rarely. Waiters speak English.

Bizim Lokanta is a friendly local restaurant in the market where you can enjoy delicious fish and bean soups. The place is popular with locals and the food is great. You can also enjoy lemon juice and brown bread with your soup, if you prefer.
This little spot is an absolute must for anyone visiting Izmir. I make a point of stopping by every time I’m in the city. It serves delicious, homemade food and holds a special place in my heart — it’s somewhere I used to go with my dad. The menu changes daily based on what’s fresh and in season, so there’s no fixed list of dishes. Seating is limited, as it’s a small, family-run place. It’s not fancy, but don’t let appearances fool you — the food is simply phenomenal. I usually go for their artichoke dishes. The artichoke soup is out of this world, but it wasn’t available this time, so I tried a different artichoke dish — equally delicious. We also enjoyed girit kabak, kuru fasulye pilav, and kadınbudu köfte, all exceptional. If I could give it 10 out of 5 stars, I would!

çok lezzetli I was looking for Turkish food that is not kebap. I ordered two dishes which were a bit too much for me. Nevertheless I was able to finish the lamb shank. Both dishes were very delicious. They cost me 115 Tlr. I went again and was charged double for a lamb shank !!!! Even taking the inflation into account, 100% is too much in two weeks. The other food was the same price. i won’t go again. NOT HONEST!

A very nice found in the old bazar of Izmir. It’s definitely not a fancy restaurant but the food is just extremely good and fresh. One of my best lokanta restaurant in Turkey. Prices are average to cheap for what you get and for 2 people with a lot of différents plates we paid 115tl that is almost 7$. On special days they prepare a very good fish soup that you should try if you’re into seafood (balik corba). I’d you’re visiting the old bazar of Izmir I recommend you to give a try to this restaurant. A special thanks to the family working there, they were super nice and friendly with us.

Our airbnb host recommended the restaurant. We liked the food and it was easy to order from the food on display. There was meat, fish, and plenty vegetarian options. I had a very nice soup, an artichoke dish and a few other things. .credit cards were accepted and prices were transparant and seemed reasonable.

The food is definitely an experience. It is one of the best showcases of the "Esnaf Lokantası" concept. Thr fish soup, Chickpeas with tripe, artichoke dessert are few of the many dishes to try. Kemeralti is an experience and this place is one of the do nit miss spots

Perfect fish soup for a cold morning! The fish soup- balik corbalar was the only dish available at 9am in the morning yet it was the only dish I wanted to try, lucky me. The fish was really fresh, yet without the fishy taste and the soup was tangy and rich. Can’t figure out what was added in the soup but real amazing dish.

Staff is great although food could have an improvement. It doesn’t match with the price paid and I felt like in Switzerland. The service however, on a very positive note is incredible and they’re very friendly.

Without a doubt this place is a very nice place to chill, connect with people, and soak in the Izmir vibes. Food was just ok. Shrimps on avocado - the avocado was a bit ripe for my liking and lacked in salt. Lamb shank was good. The fried seafood overall was mediocre because frozen seafood were used for the preparation. It's European prices hence the harsher comments. The faultless part was the service - courteous staff despite our language barriers. At the end of the dinner, a generous serving of fruit was offered. 3 stars based on the food we ordered.

North Pier offers an exquisite dining experience with sophisticated flavors and impeccable presentation. The ambiance is elegant and intimate, perfect for a special night out. Highlights included a perfectly cooked seabass with almond flakes in a citrus sauce and tender gnocchi in a rich red sauce. The mocktail were visually stunning and delicious. Service was attentive and knowledgeable. Highly recommended for those seeking a refined culinary experience. Rating: ★★★★★ (5/5)

Ayda Bağları Winery & Vineyards is a boutique and authentic place located in Izmir, Turkey. It's not easily accessible as it's far from the main road, but the drive is worth it. The winery offers wine tasting, a restaurant, and a small hotel with only 6 suits. The setting is amazing with chilling and romantic garden arrangements and breathtaking views.
Had the most amazing time and Ayda wines over two nights (and two dinners!). Service by Serra and Mira were impeccable, the scenery was lovely, the food was delicious, and the wines just perfect. Thank you for making my holiday so much more special, Ayda and team!

If you are near the area, dont miss it out. It worth a visit. Very relaxing atmosphere, especially if you go a bit before sunset.Make sure to have a thin jacket with you even if you go on summer. Reservations are also possible. I'm not a fan of wine, but i finished my glass so this means something 😊 . The cheese plate had a variety of cheeses that i havent tried before so it was a cool experience. And romantic too .
Lydia P — Google review
Amazing setting. The view and the arrangement of the garden is chilling and romantic at the same time. Rooms available, considering the drive, can be a good idea to crash there after wine&dine. Reds are rather young. Vinaida 5 is promising, needs to age further. Rose is good. I loved their tasting tray, was not for sale, yet I’d have for sure bought one 😅 In conclusion, lovely place, worth visiting. Will go back for sure, may even spend the night.

Ayda bağları remains an exquisite experience, perfect place to make special occasions even more special. The Pinot noir was delicately matched, and the main meet dish marked the very first time ever I actually enjoyed a dish that contains celery. They went out of their way to accommodate a picky eater like me who cannot stand onions or garlic in any form.

There’re places you visit just “passing by”. Nice and cute places. But also there are other places - you actually hit the road to GET there. "Ayda Vineyards" is one of that special places. Its a boutique, authentic place - winery itself, restaurant, wine tasting room and a small (only 6 suits) hotel. You can’t stop by - it’s far from the main road, you have to know about this place and you’ll drive to GET there (road is bumpy and narrow but not long - drive safely!). The winery is on the top of a hill - you have 360 degree panoramic view of the area - stunning! specially during the sunset. Amazing, carefully picked up music collection is playing at the background - harmonically couples with the whole atmosphere. We’re honoured to meet in person Mrs.Ayda herself and got some interesting details about the vineyards and the production itself. She is very knowledgeable but humble. Polite and careful person - you can feel it from the first moment she speaks to you. At the moment “Ayda Vineyards” produces two whites, a rose and four reds under the trademark Vinaida. All dry. All well balanced, with complicated bouquets, rich in tannins (reds), good for ageing (Merlot, Shiraz and Pinot Noir - our favs!), Rose - didn’t expect to find that much rich bouquet here in Turkey. The food cooked locally on the winery’ restaurant kitchen with the local Aegean products, hints and flavours. Very delicious! There are options for the vegans. If you decide to visit the winery do your best and after enjoyable evening (wines are beautiful in colour, strong in taste and unique in bouquet) with dinner at the sunset (my advice) prolong the “nirvana experience” and stay for a night (reservation is a must!!!). There are only 6 rooms!!! Enjoy the wines, inhale the fresh air with pine and olive trees aromas, have delicious dinner with some local cheese variety, stay and sleep deeply - in the morning you will be rewarded not only with a feeling of being energised, happy and fulfilled but (some materialistic award this time) with the amazing breakfast served in the garden. Note: I was not asked to write this text. This is my own true personal opinion. We were really lucky to get to know Mrs.Ayda and the winery. Hope to come again!

We had a early morning departure so decided to get our sandwiches for breakfast in the evening. It’s a very busy area and the cafe is very popular. However we didn’t enjoy some sandwiches as they taste good being heated, but as we had no heating option we had it cold and didn’t like some of them

Kumrucu Apo is a family-owned eatery located in Izmir's Kemeralti market, serving simple sandwiches and quick bites since 1970. The restaurant is known for its signature dish, the Kumru, a popular morning snack associated with the city of Izmir. This classic "hole in the wall" establishment offers a no-frills environment but is highly recommended for those interested in trying street food.
I loved the sausage and cheese (Sucuk + kaşar). It's super simple and convenient food. The bread is toasted well and overall tastes really nice. It also pairs well with Turkish tea that you could get at the han nearby :-) There's a very small place to set, so I'd recommend taking the sandwiches and eating at a more spacious place.

A traditional sandwich in the middle of the bazaar and the traditional texture of Izmir, a well-to-do old man and his two children run it, it takes about 5 to 8 minutes for your order to arrive. They have very tasty dooghs and the cheese they put in their sandwiches has a very special taste, there is not much space to sit and you have to sit on the road. In general, I love such shops and my hangout is always here

This is a classic "hole in the wall" kind of place. Don't expect anything fancy or great hygiene BUT... If you are interested in street food then you must try their "kumru". Kumru is actually the kind of bread they use while making this sandwich. It is cooked over a charcoal grill. It has kaşar cheese and sucuk as the main ingredient, which are both grilled, then you can have fresh tomato, sliced pickle and tomato paste. I recommend having all of them, as they definitely add to the taste. They use quality ingredients and it tastes really good.

fantastic. literally. we were doing sign language w the waiter the entire time and honestly he was the one that made our entire experience there nothing short of fantastic. i saw one of the waiters carrying a plate of pide which looked different from the ones we are used to and the waiter took notice of this, and immediately brought the menu over and pointed to what item it was - where else would you get such service? the moment you step in to the shop, you can literally tell it’s a pide institution - from the walls plastered with photos dating from the past, to the smell of the freshly made pide?!?!? and wow. the smell did not lie. this pide was literally one of the best i’ve ever eaten. thank you to the same waiter who kept refilling our plates w salad as well! if i were to be in izmir longer, i would definitely BALLOON from coming here all the time.

We have gone to Numan pide several times and the quality is always topnotch. The most delicious pides and lahmacuns I have ever eaten in Turkiye. Their kavurma pide is a legend! Clean, pro, delicious, and nice staff! Highly recommend here.

As we walked through the streets of the kemeralti bazaar, we stopped by this place since our friend told us about it. We had a pide, and it was so delicious. We loved every bite. It was one of the best pide I ever had. If you are around, don't miss this place. Keep up the amazing work.
Antoun B — Google review
The pide is really delicious. I ordered one of the famous 5 things on the menu and it was great. The female staff was very friendly, especially helping me order and giving me more salad as a service. ‘Thank you.’ The owner also took my order in English. I would like to visit again.

This is a Turkish pide shop that has been around since 1988. They have many toppings you can choose from. They have plain cheese, cheese with egg, ground or minced beef etc. I ordered their ground beef and egg (kıymalı yumurtalı) and also cheese and plain ground beef. They were both very good. I don't think you can go wrong. Think about it like a Turkish pizza :) Don't expect much for the atmosphere because it is a place you go for a quick bite, Turkish style fast food but it is still cooked to order. You can also do a takeout.
Utkan C — Google review
Was able to order take away. Staff helpful to select items. Flavorful food. Nice space and feels authentic. Food comes out packed well and in good time. Would be happy to go back.

The flavor of the mixed dough is just perfect, a good match with the toppings. Quick service, nice portions. If you are a pide fan, go for 1.5 portion. Absolute gem for a lunch.

Kumrucu Hüseyin is a culinary gem in Izmir, renowned for its iconic Kumru sandwich. This delightful creation features a unique turtledove-shaped sesame-seed bread filled with grilled sausage, Hungarian salami, yellow cheese, tomatoes, and green peppers. The inspiration behind this beloved dish came during Huseyin Pekmen's military service when he envisioned transforming traditional bread into something extraordinary.
I had the Izmir kumru at Kumrucu Hüseyin, and it was absolutely fantastic! The sandwich was packed with flavor, perfectly grilled, and had just the right balance of ingredients. The bread was fresh and crispy, adding to the overall experience. The atmosphere was welcoming, and the service was quick and friendly. If you're in Izmir, you definitely have to stop by and try their kumru. Highly recommended!

Kumru is the creation of Izmir area, so if you want to try many varieties of Kumru it is one of the places serving Kumru in different variations. It is good for having quick snack during anytime of the day.

I checked websites for the best places to eat traditional Kumru and i found this place and decide to try. For me,it's not one of the best or even close. It's just an ordinary place and foods. The price is more expensive than the others. The location is ok,that's the only nice thing...
Anıl Ö — Google review
Taste was average. I went there with 2 of my friends, we ate 3 sandwiches with 2 ayran and a coke and it cost us 55 turkish liras. So expensive...
Eren S — Google review
Overpriced vs food served. Also staff is unrespectful. Waited more than 5 mins until we asked staff when we will be served. Answer we got was they are having breakfast. Staff sees us and says nothing.

When in Izmir, one cannot overlook the culinary gem known as "Meşhur Söğüşçü Celal ve Oğulları." This eatery specializes in sogus, a delightful cold cut dish that features finely chopped offal seasoned with cumin, chili pepper, parsley, tomato, onion, and an abundance of greens. Served between soft lavash bread and enjoyed chilled, this delicacy has become synonymous with Izmir's vibrant food scene.
Anyone who enjoys offals will absolutely love it, and anyone enjoying it and craving street food at 2 am - or later in the night - will adore this place. It is anyway a must go spot for anyone wanting to explore true Izmir culture. The roll was perfectly prepared, all the ingredients were very fresh and came with impeccablyy balanced seasoning. I asked for extra brains which was also delicious and became exquisite with some spices and a squeeze of lemon juice. The staff was very helpful and service was efficient. I was a solo woman in this busy street late in the night and felt zero discomfort. Prices are very convenient.

Sedir Aile Çay Bahcesi is a cozy café located in the Kemeralti Bazaar of Izmir, offering an intimate atmosphere and a shabby appearance. It's known for serving Turkish coffee cooked in a cup, making it a unique spot in the area. Visitors can also enjoy karadut flavored cold drinks and Turkish tea.
vibes here were immaculate. we bought kazandibi and profiteroles from the dessert shop just before entering the street leading to this place and wow…. it’s really perfect! had salep from here. this place is off the beaten track, and further deep within the street from what google maps shows. it’s also full of locals, so it’s really a perfect place to seek refuge after a day of exploring kemeralti bazaar! we were really fortunate to have met some locals who suggested to buy the dessert from the shop and have it here

The Cafe is a bit hidden at the Corner somewhere in kemeralti market İzmir . We can see surrounding by pictures of turkish famous people as far ı know :) . The cafe atmosphere is cool, nice , design with turkish tables and turkish chairs. They served Good coffee with "lokum" or turkish delight as a condiment. Chill, cozy, and comfort in the middle of crowded market. 😉

Elgani Ezmecizade is a renowned bakery and dessert shop located in Izmir, Turkey. The pastry chef at this establishment is famous for his expertise in creating unique desserts, with the pistachio roll being a standout item. The shop is particularly known for its exceptional almond and pistachio pastes, which are perfectly balanced in sweetness and make for an ideal accompaniment to morning coffee.
I bought their walnut ezmesi and I have to admit it is pretty delicious. I bought 3 small parts for 150 tl, a bit pricy but nice to try. They have different tastes: walnut, almond, and pistachio

Heard about this place through social media and wanted to bring some back home. Made a mistake and ordered a mix box without tasting first. That tiny box cost me 40€. No special taste. Doesn’t worth the money. I’m not saying it’s terrible but price taste performance isn’t good. Probably too popular and therefore super elevated price. Need to be careful with social media marketing.
The B — Google review
Tasted all 3 different types of sweets and the 2 types of chocolates (which you have to ask) that was kept away from view. Pistachio, almond and walnut. Almond marzipan is the best of the three. The dark chocolate with marzipan filling and milk chocolate with pistachios filling are both excellent. 1 kg in the luggage to go home with us. 😋

Erhan Usta and his paste desserts are legendary. Very well balanced sugar in pistachio and almond pastes. (Except Wallnut pastes) He has a small atelier at the back of his shop. All desserts are handmade and daily. A must visit culinary spot in Izmir.

(Translated by Google) My third visit to the “Margaux” restaurant was also very convincing. Before the actual meal, a warm basket of bread is served, along with various dips. Highly recommended is the well-seasoned eggplant soup, the tender beef cheek and the Zurich-style veal in a very tasty sauce. The staff is polite and attentive, but by no means intrusive. You sit in a quiet atmosphere, but in a fairly dark room. If the staff didn't greet you in a friendly manner, you'd almost think the restaurant was closed. In short: The “Margaux” is a good place for a sophisticated evening.
