Very easy to make a reservation online. The place has a very comprehensive international wine list. You have to choose a matching tasting menu, probably if you order "a la carte" things are different. We chose the Artemide menu, matching wines glass are supplementary 70-80 euro per pax. Everything was excellent, as you would expect, The chef greets his guests as a plus. Clean, well maintained, tasteful place. I recommend for a nice lunch and/or dinner with close friends and loved one(s), but I am sure they can accomodate larger groups.

We came because of Don Camillo’s reputation and we will come back because it’s all true!! This is one of a very few places that makes a fantastic dirty martini! For dinner we had beef cheek, beef ravioli, beef sirloin, black shrimp, and delicious chocolate and pistachio cream desserts. Every dish was flavoured perfectly! Suggest a visit and bring your appetite with you 😋

What a place, what incredible wine, what a service. We brought our 6 month old baby, which is bold for a restaurant of this quality, but the staff was more than happy to welcome us. We had an amazing experience. The food is to die for - money well spent

We had a really nice dinner at Don Camillo. The service was excellent (nothing less to expect from a Michelin restaurant) and the food was pretty good. We ordered from the menu because we weren't very hungry and all the suggested options by the waiter were quite on point. It's definitely a good restaurant to have a nice dinner!

One of the best meals we had in Sicily! The restaurant offered incredible options and multiple tasting menus, but also an à la carte selection for a more personalized experience. The service was exceptional, and it was such a nice touch to see the chef visiting tables to ensure every guest was enjoying their meal. The food was a perfect mix of authentic Sicilian flavors! Dishes were fresh, creative, elevated and absolutely delicious! Well had an incredible time here, would definitely return.

Underwhelming experience for us. Nothing really stood out, it was ok food presented really well. The service was great but we were quite disappointed by this experience.

Chef's panini had a lot of flavour: sweet, sour, spicy, smoky. Good ham, mozzarella and vegetables were balanced with bread. Would be amazing if bread wasn't a bit dry/stale and 5/5. Caponata without tomato sauce and various vegetables was good and interesting.

Tables and chairs crammed in the middle of the market. Many seatings available. Hot and noisy. The order was done at the table and the food was served to the table. Had sandwich no.6 (chef's choice). I had high expectations based on earlier reviews saying that it was the best sandwich in the world. But the version I got was not that amazing. It was good, but overfilled with too many ingredients. All had mild flavour and similar texture. Big and filling sandwich for the price. A half sandwich would have been enough for me.

What a wonderful experience!! This place is an absolute must-visit when you're in the area. Be sure to try the #6 panini — it’s an explosion of flavor! We came back several times during our stay because we just couldn’t get enough. The staff are warm and welcoming, the atmosphere is lively, and yes — it’s busy, but totally worth it!

The sandwiches are massive and delicious! Watching them be prepared is an experience of its own, and while you should expect to find a line, it’s definitely worth the wait… Watch the brief video at the end! They do have outdoor seating too, though, and - even though it’s smacked in the middle of the Ortigia Market and the area may look chaotic, make no mistake… they’ll seat you, take your order (or the other way around, like we did!), and bring it to you in perfectly organized fashion! This is the best place I have ever been to for a sandwich. The ingredients were so fresh. The staff were amazing. I initially ordered the wrong sandwich and they saw that something was wrong and made me a completely new sandwich. Lovely people.

Amazing sandwiches. Prosciutto mozzarella and tomato. spicy ventricina salami baked ricotta grilled peppers mixed salad chili pate spread and two small beers. Bread had sesame seeds. YUM! Place was packed and wildly efficient and service fast. We ended up going inside after lunch and buying more food, bread and goods to go.

This was our absolute favourite place!! We made this part of our morning routine - we would run in the morning and then end with a coffee and we had two different GO TO meals. Burrata with the zucchini and quince jam! This with the mortadella was insane flavours. We also tried the salad croissants which is where you can choose the same filling as the sandwiches but in the croissants. We also took sandwiches down to the beach one day- we were told that the sandwich bar next door was average and this could be true even though we didn’t try next door! Great staff - a serious institution!!

While the food was great, the whole dinner was ruined by the utter incompetence of some of the staff. They neglected us as the restaurant became busier, we were charged more for our dinner (the price online is way different than what you pay there, and their excuse is that they haven’t updated the prices yet - is that even right?) and in general we felt not welcomed. It’s a shame, as I think the chef’s incredible masterpieces are ruined by the way we felt during dinner. I would recommend to go elsewhere, so many better restaurants to eat. My advice to the restaurant is to hire more professional waiters.

I was a “walking-in” during the late night to Regina Lucia restaurant. Strolling through the beautiful square and its cathedral, which by night its at its best, got an incredible table to a mind blowing view for a really memorable dinner. Service was the most welcoming, very helpful to choose greats wines to enjoy the view and suggest few specials dishes to try as we were not hungry enough for a full dinner. Clearly all the dishes were top quality on flavor, presentation, ingredients, but mostly on the plate full setting it offers for a great balance. My favorite was the raviolis, that despite its shelfish filling its prime flavor came from its sauce. I got to say that it’s balanced and elegant. I would say each plate holds a core flavor without it u adding to many kicks as other would do. A litter meal that i really enjoyed.

We stayed 10 nights in Ortigia and this was our best meal. The location is amazing, right in the Piazza Duomo and we sat outside. Yes it’s on the pricey side but it was worth it. All our food was beautifully presented and tasted amazing. As was the wine. A wonderful experience.

We had a private room with great service and catering for 30 people all of whom had attended a wine tour this week. All dietary requirements were seen to and understood with great high-quality substitutes provided. As free, I always feel I get a poor substitute so I was very very happy with the effort they had provided. The food was exquisite! Highly recommend

Amazingly located and some good food, but room for improvement. If you can sit outside (what I can fully recommend), you’ll have a nice view over the piazza and the duomo - nice and a great location. But that’s also why the restaurant is often frequented by tourists and accordingly quite pricey. Unfortunately, not all dishes are worth their price. The Millefoglie di Pesce Spada alla Norma (swordfish) was really good, the pasta was good too. The secondi sea bass patty (Branzino con patate schiacciate alla matalotta in crosta di pistacchio) and the tuna (Tonno leggermente scottato con Caponata mandorle e pistacchio) were rather average and already a bit cold when served. The chefs could have made more out of the high quality ingredients. Also the espresso was a bit disappointing, quite thin - very untypical for an Italian-style coffee. Service was also rather okay-ish. Once we had ordered, we were ignored and had to put a lot of effort into getting the attention of the staff. All in all: food is okay, but the atmosphere doesn’t justify the high prices.

Exceptional. We had a dinner for 2 on the terrace. The location and view are stunning. The starters were really tasty (especially the sword fish) and same was for the mains. It ended up being a bit pricey (€200 for 2), but service and food were top notch. Highly recommend.

If you are in Ortigia, you cannot miss Pasticceria Artale. Their cannolo is simply unforgettable – the shell is perfectly crisp and delicate, while the ricotta filling is creamy, fresh, and full of authentic Sicilian flavor. It’s the perfect balance of texture and taste, not too sweet, just perfect. The pasticceria itself is welcoming and full of tempting pastries, but the cannolo truly stands out as one of the best I have ever had. The staff are friendly and take great pride in their craft, which makes the experience even more enjoyable.

My favourite granita I've had in Sicily so far! The brioche was so fresh and warm. The staff was lovely and suggested I try a mix of almond and pistachio - delicious.

Good breakfast, nothing mind-blowing. The cannoli are massive, maybe even too much (I’ve never seen them so big to be honest). Everything was good and prices were fair, but it just felt like a normal breakfast you could have anywhere in Italy, nothing really special.

If you want to eat traditional breakfast, this is the right place. 2 capuccinos, brioche, granita were all together 8 euros. Best granita in Ortigia!

The pistachio granitas here were the best one I’ve had in Sicily. Almond was also very good. Not too sweet! Warm brioche.

Finally, a friendly place for English speaking customers on our cruise journey thru Italy 🥰. Double macchiato with classic Connolly, so yummy! Highly recommend!

I tried canollo here, and it was delicious! One of the best, or maybe even the best that I've had in my life. I've been to Italy many times and I like canolli, so I tried them a lot. Here the ricotta filling was so fresh!

Delicious food! The menu has a little something for anyone. Our favorites were the pistachio pesto pasta and the sausage with red peppers and potato mash. Very nice servers and the restaurant is on a cute street with indoor and outdoor seating.

A fraud in Siracusa and the most horrible experience ever! I ordered the octopus. The first that they served me looked fine but smelled burnt because they didn’t wash the pan properly. I told the waiter immediately and he said he would change it for me. I was so innocent to believe that they would improve and serve a properly cooked one. LOOK AT WHAT THEY SERVE FOR THE SECOND TIME!! Did you use the materials what you left from last week to cook for me?? Worse than the first one. Everyone can tell the difference from their look, also the mashed potatoes have turned sour. 🤮If you feel unhappy to re-prepare, just say no instead of giving me this SHIT!! It tasted as it looked, the worst food ever. €19 FOR THIS SHIT. IF YOU WANT TO WASTE TIME AND MONEY, HERE IS THE BEST PLACE.

Lovely variety of food. We especially enjoyed the grilled octopus, tuna with pistachio, and pistachio pasta. Don’t forget to try their tiramisu! A great spot for date nights or family meals.

We had to wait more than an hour to get a table, which was quite long. The food was tasty, but honestly nothing very special – we didn’t quite understand the hype around this place. Overall, it was fine, but probably not worth such a long wait.

Ok so the food wasn’t that special, which makes me believe this place just has hype for hype… we had to wait 40 mins to get a table (which was fine because we were expecting it, so after we put our names down on the list we went to grab a drink nearby). When you go in the vibe is good, lots of movement, interesting design, friendly staff. I was however expecting more from the food… all of it was bland and frankly I could have done better in my own house. The aubergine dish was lacking salt, the pasta wasn’t even hot enough for the cheese to melt, and it had pieces of swordfish and seeded olives (that were sour). Plus the tiramisu was made with cream and not mascarpone, what was up with that? Unfortunately it’s not one of the places I would recommend in Syracuse

A lot of hype over nothing. The drinks were meh. The pasta was horrible - overcooked and tasteless. The only reason I’m giving my this a 2/5 is because the service was fantastic. Pasta2go has better food. Waited 40 mins in a weekday to be seated. Will not be back here anytime soon.

Just saw this on google and noticed the reviews so thought we'd give it ago. Beautiful pasta, great service and nice casual vibe to the place. We went at lunch and we were able to get in straight away. That said it stayed rather busy while there so keep that in mind when coming a long.

Really amazing food. I went there 3 times during my stay. The gazpacho burratta soup, was like a hug to the soul! Really loved their Lamb Shank too, and lamb is very rare in the restaurants around as they are mostly seafood . Really friendly staffs.

The food was absolutely delicious and the service was warm and attentive. The foie gras was enjoyable, though not particularly memorable. But the lamb... it was truly outstanding – tender, flavorful, and unforgettable. A dish that left a lasting impression! We also had a glass of Catarratto wine – fresh, elegant, and the perfect pairing for the meal.

Simply one of the best experiences - cannot recommend this place enough. After two weeks in Sicily eating amazing food, this place was one of the last we visited and it exceeded expectations. The decor and atmosphere is so good we feared we may be walking into a tourist trap, but the small menu put our minds at ease. Every single staff member was a pleasure to interact with. We ordered lasagna, risotto, and the lamb on our waiter’s recommendation. All absolutely delicious, but the lamb in particular was the best lamb we’ve ever had. Shared a hazelnut dessert to finish. Wow. What a fantastic dining experience. Greeted by the owner who had a cheeky smile and fun attitude. We sat in the courtyard and ordered the cod starter to share, beef Rossini and steak with green peppercorn sauce and a basil panna cotta to finish. The service was awesome, the food just as good. Lively and colourful, it’s surrounded by casual restaurants and shops—perfect for browsing, buying, and soaking up the Sicilian charm.

A taste of childhood found in Ortigia street market - wild strawberries🍓 Overall a large selection of fresh seafood, herbs,spices,fruits and (not) typical vegetables,even a stand with old books about Syracuse. Good prices for nuts per kilo (pistachios) as well as Italian cookies of good quality. I had the best fresh juice from Sicilian oranges(arancia rossa). Worth a visit if you are in the area, everyone will find something for themselves!

We visited the bustling market on a Saturday morning in May. Next to fresh produce and catch of the day, street food and tourist shops have sprung up plentiful. We shopped ingredients for a dinner for 12, all ingredients appeared fresh and high quality. Prices for sea food are negotiable for considerable discounts at reasonable rates. One of my favorite experiences in Syracuse. 😇

Tons of cute stalls to get souvenirs and many places to eat. Some of them are obvious tourist traps but many are very delicious and affordable. You can get fresh cheese, spices, cookies, spreads, etc. It’s always pretty crowded. Highly recommend purchasing fresh seafood and cooking if you are staying somewhere with a kitchen. So fresh and prices are amazing! The vege vendor at the end on the left next to the fancy restaurant speaks English also.

Fabulous markets. Brilliant food. The little local restaurants are to die for. I got a lovely mixed plate and so could sample all the fine fares of Sicilia on one plate. Great idea. And it was superb. Fresh produce is excellent.

Way too packed with people and mainly with tourists. As it was very crowded and hardly could walk, was not so enjoyable in the end. But we bought some tasty and fresh products. However it’s a market, it is not possible to negotiate, even not with the souvenir sellers and even if you speak Italian. It is a bit overpriced. (We also visited a market in Catania which was wayyy more cheaper…)

Best pizza and arancini I've ever had! Love love love the loud and bright italian atmosphere.

Lovely little local spot! They serve the best arancini in town and the staff couldn’t be nicer. The price is also great (2€/arancini) and they are also so filling. You know it’s authentic when you’re the only tourists there!

Our favourite bakery in Ortigia. As local as it gets. You see what they have available behind a glass vitrine. We had the best Arancini we had in town. Scaccia with spinach was one of the best things I had in my life :). Graffe was also super. Staff friendly and relaxed. Prices as good as it gets. What else do you need from a Sicilian experience?

We’ve had a lot of arancini during our visit to Sicily and these have been definitely the best. The ragú one is just absolute perfection. We also had some pistacchio arancini, and they were good but nothing compare to the classical, ragú one. Only 2 EUR for such an incredible snack (and with a huge size too!) is a blessing. You must try this delicious masterpiece!

You can get bad arancini in Sicily so if you want a really great one, go to this bakery. Fresh and crunchy like arancini should be. Not a soggy blob with too much rice. I tried the classic arancino with ragu. Great ragu too!

I reckon this was the my favourite place to go for arancini on Ortigia. The ragu was very, very good - plus €2 v the typical price on the island of €3-3.50. Great place slightly out of the main tourist areas to relax at in the evenings.

Great place to have lunch in ortygia in a peaceful garden with no traffic nearby. Staff is really adorable and serve delicious food. Anyway, we really enjoyed this stop while visiting the busy city.

Chiodo is a very nice restaurant, and Siracusa itself is a charming city. Service was quick, which we appreciated. Personally, I found it a bit expensive for what it is. The coteletta was delicious and huge – definitely the highlight. On the other hand, the pasta with squid was a bit bland for my taste, and the peach salad was quite simple, though still tasty. The cannoli looked amazing, but we were too full to try them. In the end, they also add some extras to the bill. Good for a one-time visit, but that’s it.

Great experience. The service is very friendly and professional. We enjoyed every bite. The selection of food and wine stands out from the usual Sicilian style in every way. There’s no pasta alla Norma, no pizza. They create signature dishes, which makes them different and better than the others.

We were intrigued by the location of Chiodo and intended to have just a drink. But the atmosphere is that of a much loved coffee house with devoted staff and charming little touches like marble squares to rest the silverware on and unique glassware. The menu enticed us (local, flavorful, authentic) and we ordered a delicious lunch and enjoyed ourselves so much we went back the following day.

food was delicious. I love the large long table. They have set up in the middle for solo parties or single parties because I made a lot of friends. I love the ambience and especially the music they were playing some Sade.

After several unsuccessful attempts at decent food in Ortigia, we were lucky to discover Chiodo. It became our de facto choice for lunch and dinner for the next two days. The ambience, the people and the food were amazing. We will miss this place. Until next time Chiodo!

We loved this place. We came here twice during our trip to eat the mussels with fries. We couldn't get enough of the gorgonzola sauce. The wines we tried also paired really well with the food.

This restaurant is truly committed to local and seasonal cuisine. The mussels with gorgonzola are one of their signature dishes and definitely worth trying. We had the daily specials, pasta with figs and smoked tuna as well as pasta with swordfish. Both dishes were exceptionally well balanced and full of flavor. Dining here is always a safe and satisfying choice, with a menu that reflects both creativity and respect for tradition

If you’re in Ortigia, this is the place to go. The food is locally sourced and the flavours are great. Especially when paired with a bottle of Italian or local Sicilian wine. The owner, Fabrizio and the whole staff are great. Really welcoming, friendly, professional and all proficient in English. Even the crowd is a mix of Italians, locals but also many tourists from all over! Great atmosphere and we got also a nice band playing live music for the restaurant. Food recommendations from me: the octopus in Love and the fresh pasta with Sicilian local red prawns and truffle shavings. Don’t forget to try the traditional almond biancomangiare. Super light, flavourful and simple dessert. The basil panna cotta is also a favourite. I would definitely visit again. Highly recommended! Five stars

Tucked into one of Ortigia’s breezy side streets, Locanda Del Collegio feels like one of those restaurants you wander into by instinct—and then end up bookmarking for life. With the gentle slope of the alley guiding you toward the sea and a salty breeze dancing through the air, it’s the kind of spot where you sit down for dinner and suddenly lose track of time. We started with the polpo arrosto su purè di patate aromatizzate, and I’m still thinking about it. The octopus was perfectly charred on the outside, tender on the inside, and paired with a silky, flavorful potato purée. The tagliolini con vongole, zucchine e ciliegino followed—and it was everything you’d want from a seaside dinner in Ortigia. Fresh, light, and full of subtle sweetness from the cherry tomatoes and zucchini, with clams that were briny and clean. It was a plate that didn’t try too hard—and didn’t have to. Service was kind and relaxed. The tables outside are charming, with Ortigia’s historic stones underfoot and just enough buzz from passersby to keep it lively.

Good food and nice quiet environment on a quiet street next to the busy tourist street. The swordfish pasta had a lot of fish in it and tasted good. The starter platter had 4 of each starter on the menu and it was amazing as well. The aperol spritz was €8 which was higher than all the other restaurants we went. Waiters didn’t speak much English but they were friendly. We had a good time.

Been in Sicily for 2 weeks and this has been in our top fave meals! The owner was super welcoming and helped us choose our dishes - all were sublime. I had the fish of the day, my partner had the spaghetti, and we shared the prawn meatballs (delicately fried) and baba rhum and homemade gelato (both delicious, baba with ricotta - nice touch!). We had our 6mo old baby and the owners / chefs were fantastic with her. Will absolutely be back!

What an unreal dinner experience in Siracusa. I felt like I was in my Nonna’s kitchen. Homemade style traditional meals and the interior is even reminiscent of home cooked meal. The service is excellent, the chef came out and checked on everyone, the staff couldn’t have been kinder too. We seemed to be the only tourists in the restaurant which is always a plus as it felt like a very authentic and delicious Sicilian meal. Be sure to make a reservation as this place books up!

Excellent Sicilian restaurant with emphasis on seafood which is extremely fresh. Great atmosphere and very friendly waiters, hostess and chef. Away from the tourist crowds on a quiet street and impeccably decorated. Highly recommended. They have plenty selections of best wines in Italy and there is a bar inside the restaurant. The place open from Mondays to Saturdays and closed on Sundays. They only open for dinner from 8:00 pm until 12:00 midnight.

Very rarely do you come across restaurants where every little detail is curated to perfection. From the moment you walk up to the restaurant from the street the colorful umbrellas and lights that decorate the restauraunts external terrace greet you along with an eclectic soundtrack gently playing through the speakers. On the inside the restaurant is a melting pot of vintage decoration pieces, paintings and furniture that all tell a story. To say it has character is an understatement. The restaurants owner Maurizio greets you with a smile and some friendly words as you walk in, take a seat, and keep admiring all of the restaurants decoration. Its as if the entire place is speaking to you and telling you to feel at home. Ive traveled the world extensively and have eaten in many of the world's greatest restaurants on most continents but when I discover gems like this place it makes me happier than dining at any world renowned establishment. In Japan, the most highly renowned style of cuisine, is Kyoto based Kaiseiki cuisine. Its a style of dining where every single element in the room and on your plate is meant to inspire a sense of zen. The ceramic for each dish is carefully chosen, the type of flowers and decoration in the room, the way every dish is presented at your table and every course is prepared to make you feel as zen as possible. Sicilian dining is not in any way Kaiseiki, but dining at Maurizios establishment felt like a joyful colorful Sicilian version of this all encompassing style of dining, all senses are stimulated in a blissful way. I highly recommend choosing the 4 course tasting menu, besides being able to taste a larger variety of dishes in one sitting, it will also include, as a bonus, Maurizio presenting each dish at your table with a few fun surprises. Restaurant owners who actively work the floor in their restaurants tend to have to repeat all their stories and conversations endlessly with every evenings customer which I imagine can get exhausting but Maurizio tells you about each dish, every item in the room and art piece decorating the walls with joy and excitement as if its the first time he's telling the story. Make sure to ask him about the big painting hanging on the restaurants wall. You cant miss it, its the center piece of the restaurant, and like its owner, it's story is comical, joyful and unique.

Incredible meal! The best swordfish I’ve ever had finished table side. Kids had seared veal and octopus pasta. Both amazing. Chef recommendation for wine was spot on. And he was nice enough to give us a house discount on the wine for putting confidence on his suggestion. Thanks for the very special meal and hospitality!

Excellent food and service. Every dish was tasty, and seemed to offer a twist, a bit of individually. The polpo was tender, my wife loved her freddo di mare. I also had the zucchini soup. The busiate for my daughter was also perfect for her. The risotto was not that risotto like, or at least not like the ones I've been used, but was still a very satisfying dish. We were full when the stuffed squid came but we still polished that off. Then there was the tiramisu. Recommended.

Maurizio and his staff are fantastic! My group had a cooking class and jam sessions in the evenings in addition to our lunches and dinners. The venue has Sicilian charm. The whole place was lively and fun.

Happy place for raw fish and bottarga lovers. Stylish market restaurant, run by the family who owns the seafood market stall next to the restaurant. Excellent quality and rare products. Great choice of wines, especially orange wines. Sometimes food is accompanied by a DJ. Prices are quite high but match the quality. Menu changes according to availability of the seafood. Standards are fried mixed seafood and bruschetta with marinated anchovies. Only outdoor seating. (Price varies according to choice, 15-50 Euro)

we stumbled upon this GLORIOUS restaurant today for lunch and oh my, what a find!! The food was insanely good, there were many ooo’s and ahh’s as they brought food out as it was ready and every dish we had was packed full of delicious, fresh flavours. The atmosphere is super relaxed and cool, and felt very authentic. They were kind enough to say thank you with a few bruschetta’s for coming to have lunch on such a hot day (when most people were inside, likely with the air con on high) and the service overall was fantastic, really lovely people who just seemed to want us to have a lovely time- which we did!! can’t recommend visiting here enough, I wish I could eat here every day!!!

Very disappointed, portions were tiny for the price, order a fried mix 15€ and was mostly sardins and a bunch of small prawns, in general I didn’t like the food. The tuna carpaccio was better, but still small portion for 18€. On top they served in paper plates.

Incredible place with succulent food ! A lot of taste in the plates. The menu is written on a board and can change by day to day relative to seefood arrival I guess. You need to go there it’s a must in Syracusa (Ortigia) !

I stopped by for a quick lunch and was blown away by the sheer quality of the food. The fried anchovies were among the best I've ever had. The tuna tartare and the sandwich with swordfish were absolutely mouthwatering

We had the best pizza in our life at Era Ora. You can pick crunchy or napoli style and you will get amazing pizza with high quality. Much better than we had in Napoli. Staff not so nice and you need to wait a bit for a pizza but it is worth to try!

We ended up coming here because of a failed restaurant nearby. The place was totally packed and crowded with locals, and they were gracious enough to find us a place to eat last minute in between all of the reservations. The food was absolutely phenomenal, we ended up with a fried pizza with pursuit, buffalo mozzarella, cherry tomatoes, and pesto. Yummy!

The pizza was delicious! The restaurant is very nicely decorated and is right next to the waterfront which makes for a very pretty setting. The reason for 4/5 instead of 5/5 stars is related to the service. Our wine and beer glasses were empty halfway through dinner and the waitstaff never came over to ask if we wanted another (which we did and we were unable to get their attention). Also we were never asked if we wanted dessert or coffee (again which we did). Granted the restaurant was very busy, but still the service needs improvement. We will be back since we live in the area, since the pizza was delicious, hopefully next time the service will be better.

I loved our dinner here. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The location isn't noisy and you might catch a stunning sunset. Most importantly, the pizza is to die for. This is clearly an operation guided by a passion for quality 👏

A very good destination is you’re visiting Ortigia for a day. The napolitan pizzas are absolutely delicious and really worth it. We sat by the terrace and were lucky enough to see a part of the sunset. We took the Burrata di Buffalo with Pistachio which is considered a dish from Sicily and 2 pizzas: Four Seasons & Origin di Ortigia. Added some pictures so you can judge for yourself on the taste 🤤

So. We were lucky to come earlier and get table for 8 people but if u coming after 8pm expect queues 😁😁 it's busy. We ordered pizzas. They have big choice of food so pretty much everyone will find something for you himself. Pizza was good but I have better in Italy. waiting time for food was a little bit long but acceptable. staff is friendly and helpful.

One of the best restaurants ever !! Service, food, drinks, atmosphere was just the best. Menu was full of intrigue and variety without being too over the top. The service and engagement was world class without being in your face. We had the 5 course meat with vegetable course and I couldn’t have been more impressed. A little theatrical presentation helped. The outdoor setting on a cool spring evening made it even better with the setting of the domes above.

Having had so many wonderful experiences in Michelin-starred restaurants, my wife and I opted to visit Cortile Spirito Santo while staying in Ortigia. We selected the Cortile menu with wine pairings. The food, wine, and service were exceptional. We enjoyed the ambience; it was approachable and yet classy. We are still raving about the starters and the risotto. Walking home after the meal, we ranked Cortile Spirito Santo among the best of the Michelin-starred restaurants we’ve experienced to-date. We’d love to return when the weather is warm and dry enough dine outside.

We were very pleased to visit this Michelin star restaurant while visiting Ortigia. Truly very creative and artistically executed and tasteful. Very creative with basic ingredients and that’s what shows the beauty of this place. Our only comment would be regarding some of the servers as we couldn’t understand what they were saying and had to repeat asking them to slow down and they should be more relaxed. They wanted to show professionalism yet they show they wanted to finish what they have to say and run. With this kind of restaurant you need more communication at least.

What an excellent experience indeed. A truly enjoyed dinner full of deep taste. All the dishes we selected were very tasty and well thought and executed. The surrounding is a small pleasant court inside a hotel building. Apart from the great food which is memorable, something rare I might add these days.....the service needs serious training.

Cortile Spirito Santo is easily among the top three restaurants we’ve experienced in Sicily. Housed in a stunning 17th-century palazzo in Ortigia, this Michelin-starred is led by young chef Giuseppe Torrisi, whose cooking is as elegant as it is deeply rooted in Sicilian tradition. We had the pleasure of meeting him — and were struck not only by his creativity, but by his quiet humility and thoughtful approach to flavor. Standout dishes included the now-iconic “Peppe’s Egg” — an earthy, playful creation layered with truffle, aged Sicilian parmesan, and crispy bacon; the monkfish meunière, delicate and intense with wild fennel and asparagus; and the gorgeous “Made in Sicily” almond tartlet, shaped like the island itself — a brilliant, lightly sweet finale. My husband and I did the 6-course Cortile degustation for dinner here tonight and everything was excellent; the atmosphere, service and the food! Being food lovers, we frequent recommended food places back home and our travels as well as hatted and/or Michelin-starred restaurants. We note Cortile Spirito Santo is a one-star Michelin restaurant. We think it should receive another star. It has now become one of our top 5 best restaurant we've been to...and we've been to a lot... We totally recommend experiencing Cortile Spirito Santo whenever you're in Ortigia/Siracusa, Sicily.

I had an outstanding dinner at Cortile Spirito Santo during my visit to Ortigia in November 2025. The food was incredibly creative — each dish wonderfully considered and beautifully presented, full of subtle flavours, and clearly designed with real thought and sensitivity. It is clear that every element on the plate has a purpose, and the combinations really work. The service was impeccable throughout. The staff were friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed to care that guests were having the best possible experience — nothing ever felt rushed or forced. The ambience was calm and elegant, with tasteful décor that perfectly suits the relaxed yet refined atmosphere. It’s a peaceful spot that makes you want to linger and enjoy every course. My flight to Catania was delayed, so when I got to Syracuse all the restaurants were closed. Luckily this place was still open, so decided to give it a try. Didn’t know what to expect, but it turned out quite nice. I had the horse meat + cheese sandwich, with tomato as supplement. It tasted quite good, the horse meat was quite chewy. Good late night comfort food.

My favorite Panini place in Ortigia. Meat specialist serving special kinds of meat such as horse meat in the form of panini or just BBQ. They have outdoor sitting area. I ordered one panini, one BBQ and one large Messina beer. The bill was around 15 Euro more or less as of August, 2025.

great fast food if you're on the go. I wanted to order a horsemeat sandwich but got a platter instead with assorted cold salads. still an excellent choice, great flavours and the ambience while you're eating on the street is quite something. more of a local spot I would say that locals go to for a quick bite, nothing fancy and prices are very reasonable for the large portions offered. porcheta e mozzarella - 7.50€ patatine - 2.00€ Coca Cola - 2.00€ total = 11.50€

You can’t go more local than this. Incredible quality for so cheap. Grab a sandwich here if you don’t feel like really eating out.

This place is usually very crowded at night and I felt a little bit overwhelmed trying to order since I don’t speak much Italian but we finally passed by before the rush started. There is another panini place close by that has a similar menu but I have to say, this place was much better. The patatine here is nice and crispy and we had the sandwich with sausage & cheese and it wasn’t greasy or salty at all, delicious! Must try if you are in the area!

Ordered the horse meat sandwhich with cheese. It was so good and flavourful!! Portion was huge at affordable price We came here around 7:30pm on a Friday and lots of locals lining up, most doing takeouts. It was a 15 to 20 mins wait after we ordered. Its self serve but there were some seats available on the side. We sat down to enjoy the sandwich after picking up our order.

Recommended by our apartment host, this restaurant just outside the touristy area was a fantastic find. The fried fish starter was excellent, and both the Pasta Norma and Carbonara were delicious. We ended with a lovely tiramisu and a complimentary raisin liquor from the kind waitress — a thoughtful touch. Great local vibe, reasonable prices and real Sicilian flavour. A must-go!

Nice food, served by prepared staff in a family business who have been there for long enough to know how some ingredients flavour pasta. Price is adequate and they could decorate better. Better vibe is if you sit outside. The place is at the end of the busy street, so less busy.

This feels like a real locals place , Not a tourists. We’ve been to Ortigia a couple of times but first time to find this beautiful little restaurant, definitely family run, the food was simply amazing from the fresh fish to the Pasta, the best find in all of Ortigia for us. Will be back every time.

The Palermo-style swordfish was amazing! The side salad (just a few pieces of lettuce) was a bit disappointing and lacked flavor. Overall, it was a great experience, though the prices are on the higher side compared to typical Sicilian standards.

Clear recommendation. Staff was super nice, unfortunately they don't speak English but everything worked fine as they were super kind and patient with us. Great dishes. Everything we had was super delicious. Price was absolutely fair. If I come back to the city I will definitely come back to this restaurant. Can only recommend it!

The past place to eat in Siracusa (Ortigia). The Paccheri pasta was one of the best pasta dishes, that i’ve had in Italy so far. The Bigoli with sardines were as tasty as the swordfish involtini. The service is super friendly and the whole place is super affordable and just amazing. :)

Overall not bad experience, pretty cheap as for portions and pasta tasted ok (ordered famous and recommended by many chef’s option) I mean, it’s ok, see photo, but definitely nothing to book a table for, lacked seasoning and I got 3 shrimps heads, but only two big shrimps and a lot of mini shrimps)) but what made this mark low is mixed grilled fish main dish, especially tuna — as they said fish of that day — was way overcooked and dry (check pic), I don’t know how fish places can do this to grilled fish and grilled calamari — was very rubbery (we didn’t even finish that one). I wouldn’t visit again, but maybe we just got unlucky.

The tasting menu is an incredible value for money, maybe even too much - you better be hungry and even then it’s going to be a challenge to chew yourself through it. Some courses are more creative than others and the service was a touch unmotivated, but we stood up nonetheless satisfied at the end.

We had the tasting menu. Food was soso for me. I generally like garlic bread but this one didn't taste good on its own, in any sauce, or any broth. The pasta with tuna ragou at the end was really not to my taste. We saw a lot of people didn't finish theirs either. i was hovering 3 stars but the dessert was really good. We had the pistachio cheesecake and Panna cotta. Wine and water and dessert being included saves this for me.

Very good. Due to heavy rain, they were closing early. However the manager open for us. Made an off the menu red sauce dish for my wife and seafood pasta for me. Bread with olive oil seasonings and red pepper flakes. Very good. Nice quaint atmosphere.

Amazing seafood restaurant in Siracuza. I recommend to pick degustation menu for 45 eur/person. You will get all the best their meals in that price (a lot of amazing food). From raw seafood, scampi, fried fish, pasta etc. Great place!

Had a terrific lunch from the fresh seafood tasting menu €50. “Tasting” was a lot more than a taste, we were served good portions. Attentive service, quiet, very enjoyable.

Honestly just a really disappointing experience. We went because they had a gluten free pizza base (extra €3.90) but it honestly seemed frozen or store bought. It went super hard really quickly and just wasn’t great. As a coeliac it didn’t feel like a safe or decent option at all. Service was pretty rubbish too. One female waitress was actually really lovely but the rest (all guys) were rude and just couldn’t be bothered. My partner was offered to try the red wine available. One was cold and stale. When asked if they had a regular room temperature option, they shrugged us off. When we asked to take our leftovers they brought one box for both pizzas, even though one was gluten free and the other wasn’t, which just isn’t ideal. Then we noticed a wine on the bill that we didn’t even have. The waiter did fix it and say sorry, but it was such a half-hearted standoffish apology. Then he just sort of chucked the new bill on the table. Overall it felt like a tourist trap. Definitely wouldn’t go back, especially if you’re coeliac or just expect basic good service.

Followed a recommendation from a food/travel blogger and we were glad we did! The pizza was absolutely perfect. We had the Panarea and it was sooooo delicious. The crust was perfect. Best pizza we’ve had in Italy.

I often hesitate to share my favorite restaurants as I don't want them to get too busy. Well, this one is already. I go here at least once a week on my yearly one month stays in Siracusa. It it my favorite in Sicily and my second favorite in all of Italy (and no, I'm not telling you what that one is... Yet!) The burgers look great, but I don't go to Italy for a burger. The pizza is amazing. I am totally not a crust guy, but it IS the crust that really makes this place worth visiting. They have some classic pizzas and some very cool combinations. One of my favorites is the Fumerole. The first photo is what I had today, Quattro Fromaggi. The have a really good wine and beer list, and the place is usually hopping. Resos definitely recommended on the weekends. They have a half dozen outside tables and a great stone walled interior. This place does not disappoint, hence it's popularity.

Very good pizza, if not to say the best we ate on Sicily. We sat in the middle of a small street, had really good neapolitan pizza and enjoyed good drinks. Would definitely go here again!

Great pizzas, quality ingredients. However the service is SO slow, we waited almost an hour to get our dishes and after they almost kicked us out, removing the plates before we were all finished.

Today's lunch consisted of a beautiful vegan 'cheese' plate, hummus/falafel/naan dish, and vegan cutlets. The flavors were extraordinary, the ambience was tranquil and artistically vibrant, the service was friendly and helpful, the portions were generous, and the entire experience was so pleasing that we made reservations to return tomorrow evening. The refined quality of plant-based food in such a high-level restaurant is a rare find in Sicily (and many other places in the world) and is greatly appreciated. Grazie mille!

5 stars isn’t enough. My wife is vegan and usually has to make huge comprimises in almost every restaurant we visit. Well not here. The food at Moon isn’t just well prepared it’s almost a science. Every dish we had ( 3 return visits in 10 days) was fantastic. The flavours were out of this world. Every person that served us knew every dish and could explain the technique and ingredients used to make it. All the staff were friendly and laughing. The Shushi I had three times and it was fantastic each time. We thought the atmosphere during lunch was great but in the evening it goes to a different level. The only down side they don’t have a restaurant in England.

they shot for the moon… but didn’t quite get there. we only ordered two entrees, both were fine but quite small portions for the price and needed salt. based on the name, atmosphere, menu, and presentation of the food we were expecting something more groundbreaking. furthermore, it’s not that difficult to eat vegan with sicilian cuisine. of course it’s great to see a plant based restaurant, and the colony of stray cats that hang out near by are very cute, but i wouldn’t overly recommend this place. MOON - Maybe One Ought Not.

A friend recommended MOON and I had read other good reviews, and I was not disappointed with my visit. The service was excellent, and the food was delicious! The flavours were subtle and the meal very pleasing - even for my non-vegan boyfriend. Great job - I would definitely return!

We loved this place. Small cozy yet it is full of warmth. Wished the menu had more choices but with what they had it was very tasty and fresh. Loved their fried stuffed sardines with pine nuts and raisins. Their server was amazing and very friendly. Would definitely go back again.

Nice seafood restaurant right along the coast. Too hot/sunny to eat outside, but two indoor dining areas. Nice menu and seafood offerings. We had whole grilled bream, shrimp, and a salad. Very well done. So hungry and good that I didn't get a photo before we'd eaten most of the food. Pleasant and attentive service.

Hands down best Linguine I’ve ever had. Stuff is magical. They will pass the legend of this pasta down through the ages. The tuna steak a beauty. Ruby red. Extremely tender. The orange salad is fresh and delicate. Friendly atmosphere. Good reggae music. Perfect.

So good we ate there 3 times. The fish balls are sensational and the food is super tasty and a high quality. The best tuna we’ve tried was cooked to perfection. Would highly recommend this to friends.

Stumbled on this little gem by accident walking back to my accommodation on a quiet weeknight. The staff were amazing, so patient and helpful. My meal (as recommended by the staff) was delicious and the chilled rosato equally so. Had I not been leaving Syracuse the following day, I would definitely have returned.

A small restaurant off the main streets offering superb service and tasty food. The owner is so friendly and helpful on choices. Food: could be better the open lasagne was missing some salt (even with the added parmigiano, the tomato sauce was a bit blend), otherwise it was very good combination and a nice idea. The swordfish was ok. And the potato and leek piure was a little bit disappointing. It wasn’t bad, but the texture was something else from what we thought it will be. So 3.8-4/5, but I would definitely come back to try some kore visionary food! The service was spotless, thank you very much! Easy 5/5. Atmosphere: well, we had a bunch of people there..smoking and having a pretty loud talk, but this was not the restaurant’s fault, the restaurant looked pretty. 5/5. Thank you!

I had a lovely time at the restaurant. The food was amazing 💘 my first Italian experience in a restaurant and it was the best choice I could have made. Not only for the food but also for the beauty of the place. The decoración was georgeous and made a better experience. Also Kiri and Sophie were so nice with me. If you are in Ortigia you have to visit Restroscena , I totally recommend it ✨

I really wanted to enjoy the food here as the staff were very cordial and professional. However, the food was just not good. Their website doesn’t have a menu and hard to find what they offer. The restaurant had a lot of good reviews so decided to blindly give it a go. Started with an appetizer, which was written as fried sardines over creamy potatoes. The sardines were overly dry and tasteless placed on top of lumpy, dry mashed potatoes. I choose one of the daily specialties as my main course only to have the wait staff come back to tell me they no longer had that dish available. It was lobster with pasta. It was less than 2 hours after they opened and it was not busy at all, 6 other people in the restaurant. I had to look back over the menu to make another choice. I don’t eat meat, si it was a hard choice with such a limited merit. I decided on spaghetti with frutti di mare. The seafood was small pieces of chewy, overcooked seafood. The sauce had no flavor other than the hot pepper flakes on it. Pictures are when the dish arrived and when it was returned barely touched. The bread was very good, fresh and warm, basically what I ate for dinner

This was our favorite meal of our entire honeymoon! The service was phenomenal and they treated you like family. My ravioli was delicious and my husband greatly enjoyed the seafood risotto. We were treated to complimentary lemon sorbet and limoncello shots. We truly felt celebrated and loved. 11/10 recommend trying this restaurant. If we are ever in Sicily again, we will definitely be back!

My husband and I went there and we ordered one pizza each plus a salad. I ordered a wholemeal pan pizza after inquiring what it was and the waiter explained it to me. Then he forgot about my order. Only my husband’s pizza and salad came, we started eating whatever is served. Husband gave 1/3 of his pizza to me. Both dishes were finished, my pizza still didn’t come. I went to ask where is it, the staff went to check, IT WAS’NT EVEN MADE! I followed and said if it’s not made I don’t want it, just bring the bill please. The bill came. My husband was not pleased with this and went to reason with them because they didn’t seem bothered or apologetic. The staff made it as if it’s my mistake because he could have made me the pizza within a few minutes but instead, I decided to ask for the bill. I refused to pay the service fee €5.6. They refused because apparently the fee is for napkin, cutlery etc (according to them). But it’s service fee - what would I pay for it when the service is not there?! In the end, they round down the bill from €32 to €30. We left really unsatisfied. They did not have a lot of mutual respect

Had the pizza Norma. It was the best pizza I have ever had. Super tasty and well balanced. (€38 for 2 drinks 2 pizza).

We book a table so no waiting time. Considering that’s a top 100 Italy I was having high expectations. The pizza (Margherita) was really good but I have tried much better ones. The ones with prosciutto were much tasty, so if you are not vegetarians that might be a better choise. The highlight and must try is the tiramisu which is outstanding.

Piano B is a must-visit for tourists seeking an unforgettable pizza experience. Make sure to book ahead for a seat. The Mediterranean pizza is a delightful choice with rich flavors. The staff is welcoming, enhancing the overall experience. While the Tiramisu tends to be on the sweeter side, it authentically reflects Southern Italian style. For a taste of excellent pizza and warm hospitality, Piano B is a worthwhile stop on your travel itinerary.

It took maybe 10minutes for the waiter to come to us even though there was only one other table with customers but the rest of the evening was very pleasant. My Mediterranean pizza was very delicious, though the recommended pizza Parmesan by the waiter was just ok. Getting back to this review after trying other pizza place. Absolute fantastic - super food, very friendly service, faultless authentic atmosphere. Octopus and eggplant bake from the Antipasti list made a great meal - Orange Tiramisu is a world recorder, a must try!!

Excellent restaurant for authentic Sicilian food. Highly recommend ordering the spaghetti alla siracusana and the connolo (which is large enough to share). Great ambience seated outside and the service was friendly and knowledgeable.

We came here by a recommendation from someone who we met at the beach on the same day. Unforgettably funny staff and great fresh sea food. The cannoli is super fresh. They fill it just before serving it and it huge. 😍 Highly recommended. Open at 7.30 pm. Get there on time otherwise you find yourself with no table.

There was something weird about the service. I think they did not like us, our family of four! Waiter was somewhat impatient when we ordered. Then he felt we needed to order appetizers. Which we did not mind, even though we were not that hungry. Food was simple and delicious. Menu is very concise, the way we like it. We got Aperol Spritz glasses with our bottle of wine. After we finished our main course, our son really liked the pasta and we asked if we can order another half portion (because we read online that they offer half portions too) and the waiter started an argument why just one person was eating more, and he asked inside and the came back and said they would not do that. Anyway, just a bit of a weird experience. Not sure what we did wrong on our end.

Disappointing experience overall. Service was very slow and inattentive. The bread was extremely hard and stale—closer to a rock than something fresh. The octopus starter tasted overly fishy and had a slimy texture. I’d recommend dining elsewhere.

I had dinner here with my family and boyfriend. It was the worst experience we had in Sicily. Racist undertone coming from the waiter, they also rejected us when we asked for extra plates. Food was nothing to write home about, you are in Sicily so it’s very hard to find really bad food. I would not come back and I think you would be better off dining at neighbouring restaurants. There was a neighbouring restaurant that looks amazing, I’m still regretting the fact we didn’t choose them over Carnezzeria.

Great location for a restaurant and good atmosphere, it was just getting going when we arrived. My husband had swordfish - which he really enjoyed. My choice was the cod. It was a good sized portion in a creamy (potato?) sauce, but it was barely warm. I like my food to arrive piping hot. The fish itself was watery and had no discernible flavour, so this was very disappointing. I might have said something to the serving staff if anyone had come over to ask how our food was, but once we were served no one came back to check on us. Our only disappointing experience in Ortigia.

Highly recommended, and absolutely stellar dining experience! From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed with the aroma of freshly prepared seafood dishes. The ambiance was charming and inviting. The seafood was incredibly fresh. The service was impeccable, with attentive staff who went above and beyond to ensure our dining experience was nothing short of exceptional.

We ate dinner very early in Sicilian standards- 6:30pm. The waitress was very friendly and answered all my questions about local life. I felt very welcomed- felt like a small town place to me. The food was very good. We had the ensalada bufalo- amazing! And the Parmesan (Parmesan aubergine) and the carbonara- the meat melted in your mouth. They also offered raw oysters, prawns and lagoustine- we didn’t chose this but many did. They will grill all but the oysters. The oysters were from France and China. We had a lovely time and would go back.

It's really great local seafood. We spent 4 nights in Siracusa and this was by far the best option we found in the old town. It's a bit of the main tourist road - which is usually the place where you find the best spots anyway.

A hidden gem in Syracuse! With a powerful husband and wife duo, from beginning to end. The welcoming atmosphere was amazing and the food, superb with no equal since living in Sicily. Just this restaurant alone is enough for me to keep coming back to Ortigia. Although tucked away, it is worth going to if you are ever in the area.

Very welcoming and kind staff, everything just felt super professional, the food was brilliant. They have a smaller menu which means, all the dishes are perfected. We tried their so called pine appetizer, a mix of different things with veggies and fish and cheese. Everything was absolutely delicious. The tuna tartare was amazing!!! And finally, spaghetti with lobster...fantastic. They also have a lovely wine selection. We loved our dinner experience here, and they were also super sweet with our toddler who ran around all the time. Highly recommend booking a table, not sure you'll have a spot without one. We booked our table few hours before going on a Thursday, right at their opening time (7pm) and the place was full within minutes.

We enjoyed a delightful meal here on our first night in Ortigia. We had the mixed appetizer plate, which gives you a chance to try several of the local specialties. And we chose the lobster spaghetti for 2, which has a very light fresh tomato sauce. Tiramisu for dessert. All very nicely done, all with fresh local ingredients.

An outstanding seafood experience! This is a small restaurant with a short menu, but the quality is exceptional. The chef personally came out with the fresh catch of the day and explained each dish, which made the whole experience special. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious, and they took great care to ensure the food was safe for both our toddler and a pregnant family member. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it a truly memorable meal. Highly recommended!

Such a nice restaurant! We came here celebrating my husband’s 40th birthday with my family. Francesco was super nice, we organized it all through WhatsApp and him and his wife did a fantastic job! Food was excellent ! Definitely recommend:)

A true no-nonsense spot in Ortigia. The seafood and pasta were incredibly fresh, portions generous, and everything cooked with great care. The sea food pasta and grilled octopus were especially delicious. Service was fast and efficient, and the overall quality for the price makes it, in my opinion, one of the best value-for-money restaurants in the area. Absolutely deserving of its high rating.

OMG - is what we kept uttering throughout our lunch here. The restaurant is small and located in a very unassuming corner in the eastern coast of Ortigia. We sat on the outside terrace. The smell of fried seafood was a real teaser for us and the dishes did not disappoint! Loved vongole pasta and calamari, I eyed the dishes on the tables around us and would love to come back for all of them! Staff that introduced us to the menu was super lovely and knowledgeable, felt almost like we were in a proper nice restaurant with her service. Very good value for money too!

We starved all day just to have enough room to eat here again. This pasta right here was the best pasta dish I’ve ever eaten & the fried fish is mind blowing. I’ve been all over the world and all over Italy and nothing can compare. Im heartbroken that I won’t be able to eat this anywhere else. I will come back again to ortigia exclusively to eat here.

Visitied once, made sure to visit again. Each time it was amazing, nothing short of seafood perfection. Everything fresh and just so incredibly tasty. Cannot reccomend enough.

Great food and honest service We had a lovely meal here, enjoying a mix of fried seafood—calamari, shrimp, and small fish—all perfectly cooked and flavorful. One person in our group wanted pasta, and since the portion was quite large, the staff kindly suggested bringing her half instead. That kind of honesty and thoughtfulness is something we truly appreciated. Overall, the service was excellent and very attentive. Prices were fair and reasonable. A great spot if you’re looking for tasty food and warm, genuine hospitality.

I asked a local friend to take me to the place with the best tiramisu in town, and he brought me to Barcollo — and I must say, it was an excellent choice. The tiramisu was truly delicious and beautifully presented. The atmosphere at night is lovely, with great music and an elegant, classy décor that makes the experience even more enjoyable. The only downside is that they don’t serve any hot drinks ( I don’t drink alcohol). I would have loved to enjoy a tea with my dessert, but they only offer cold beverages and cocktails, which might not be ideal for everyone. Still, the quality of the tiramisu and the overall ambiance make it absolutely worth a visit.

We stopped at the ‘new’ (since June 2023) Barcollo for a pre-dinner cocktail and ended up staying. Great choice… and away from the crowds. Cocktails from a wide and sometimes quirky menu range were expertly made. A custom request Elderflower Martini was superb. The chef (David) used to work at a Michelin hatted restaurant and it shows. He has obviously been given some freedom here and created a number of exceptional dishes best described as fusion Sicilian. From the exquisite Tapas to the mains and the perfectly presented desserts we were delivered taste sensations all the way. The service was prompt, friendly and professional. Barcollo is highly recommended. Dont just come for the cocktails!

My waitress was absolutely lovely and very welcoming. The cocktails are great and so are the vibes. Would highly recommend grabbing a cocktail or three here.

If you want a really decent cocktail then I recommend this place, I had the Mai Tai and the Cosmo and LOVED them both. My wife knows I am a popcorn demon and so when they give you some for the table it guaranteed us coming back again. My wife had an espresso martini and then joined me in a cosmo cause she tried mine and it was so fantastic.

Iona was a fantastic server—attentive, friendly, and made the experience even better. The cocktails are top-notch, with thoughtful garnishes that really elevate them. The vibe is modern yet chill, with stylish décor and multiple seating options to suit any mood. Highly recommend!

Family owned restaurant since 2005. Excellent service, delicious food. We had the grilled sea bass, vegetables, marinated anchovies, seafood ravioli. And a crisp, cold Grillo wine. Highly recommend.

My husband and I have a home in Siracusa and not sure why it took us so long to find and try this family run restaurant. Great and attentive service. The fish of the day was branzino, we ordered it grilled and it was delicious! The grilled whole fish was filleted at table side. We will happy to have dinner at this restaurant and will return.

I’m not really sure what to say, was tempted to give 4 stars, but I think 3 is fair. We ordered 3 dishes, the pasta was really good - 4.5, one fish dish was good, 4 stars, the other fish dish, not so good, 2 stars., so I think average is 3.5? It’s certainly not touristy because there are no English menu and the surprise fish was hit or miss. We don’t regret eating there. So take your chance if you want an authentic experience! P.s. only 2 photos because I didn’t take pictures of the not so yummy fish.

Stopped by here for some lunch, I really fancied some zuppa but they'd nothing vegan on the menu, so they made some especially for me. It was absolutely delicious! My husband was more than happy with his pasta dish and adored the Siciliana cake he had with his coffee. It all tasted like the most amazing home-cooking, the service was really friendly and the place had a really nice atmosphere.

We stumbled across this place, looking for a casual lunch spot. The service was excellent, the best we had in Sicily. Wine delicious. Pasta (Norma and Vongole) really lovely. Nice quiet location with a view of the water.

We had dinner there and it was just incredible. Its a quiet place, kind of hidden so usually not full, which makes no sense considering the quality of the food and the attention. Unfortunately i forgot to take pictures, but we had great pasta and fresh sea food. We'll come back for sure!!

The pastries and food here are truly delicious – especially the cannolo and the cornetto, which are absolutely amazing. Unfortunately, the service doesn’t match the standard of the kitchen. You can’t order at the counter and then take a seat; you’re expected to wait at the table – but today, no one came to take our order at all. There is one lovely young woman with long dark hair who is always kind and helpful. Unfortunately, the older lady at the register tends to be unfriendly. I had really hoped to enjoy breakfast here every day, just like I did two years ago – but sadly, the current atmosphere and lack of service have discouraged me. They had a vegan cake/tarte! It was chocolate-hazelnut-orange, a bit like a tarte with nutella and a hint of orange - I enjoyed it. Matched well with an oat milk Cappuccino

This place absolutely made our holiday, we made it part of our routine - walk down there around 10 am for two espresso macchiatos standing at the bar. The gentleman behind the bar - fantastic, brilliant and made the best coffee I have had in ages. If we ever come back to Ortigia, this will be the first place we go to!

I had high hopes for Viola, but unfortunately, the bakery items were a bit disappointing. They tasted like they were more than a day old and had a soggy texture. The café itself is quite nice, with plenty of seating that makes it a good spot to sit and relax. However, the counter staff wasn’t very pleasant — a bit indifferent and fussy, though perhaps it just wasn’t their best day.

Fantastic. Best coffee I've had in Sicily, and this is something that is usually pretty uniform across places here. It's generally great, but rarely truly stands out, and it absolutely does here. Really distinguished, excellent coffee. Great pastries and snacks too, really effective AC (not a trivial matter!) and friendly staff.

Don’t go there if you are used to nice breakfasts. They only have processed bakery full of sugar. Only packaged gluten free choices, and also no toasts etc there are better natural places around the corner - I am sad I wasted my last morning here

August 2023 The ricotta filling! The cones! Delicious and quick! And then stroll piazza duomo and gasp at the scale and beauty of Arcidiocesi Di Siracusa Posh restaurants line the piazza but you can stroll with your wonderful cannolo and take some night pics of the square We went at least 3 times

Local cannoli pastry shop that boasts its fresh made products. Tried the Cannoli al limone verdello was quite good, creamy, sweet yet not overpowering but it lacked citrusy to live to its name. Overall quite good with the cookie/waffle really crunchy and chocolate pieces as a topping. Prices were a little over the expensive side but for freshly made cannoli it was well worth it.

That’s a cannoli you won’t see in other places! Different shapes than usually but they taste just amazing! Totally recommend!

If you are looking for a typical cannoli, this is the place to be! You can choose from a small or large cannoli and they have different flavours including pistachio. You can also choose a topping. I chose a small cannoli with pistachio flavour and an almond topping.

The best cannoli I've had throughout my stay in Sicily. Try the original one with ricotta cheese - it tastes amazing! The pastry itself is fried in oil rather than lard so this is a great place to try cannoli for vegetarians!

This place hardly needs any more positive reviews, but it really is so good! Please go for the ricotta filling instead of the cream (though I'm sure it would still be very tasty) - the richness of the ricotta is just something else!

The best cannoli we have tasted so far with great tasty fillings. And they have gluten free version too.

We enjoyed a wonderful glass of orange wine and rosé paired with the lemon anchovy bruschetta. It has a very pleasant environment for talking and enjoying aperitif before dinner!

Amazing selection of natural wines. Came here few times because it’s the best in Ortigia, not all bottle you can try by glass but you can still find something crazy and interesting. Food is very delicious as well ❤️

I can say that while my passing was pretty quick for a couple of wines, i was really pleased by their extensive wine options and great recommendations to match your taste. Great spot for really good wines and easy going vibes while strolling through Ortigia.

The enoteca is very charming- old, classic style with a very nice seating area outside overlooking the street. They have a very big choice of wines per glass, as well as an impressive collection of wines by the bottle. The food was really good- we had the aperitivo plate and it was with high quality and tasty ingredients. The only thing that disappointed me a bit was that the owner/waiter (I’m not sure) was probably in a bad mood as we came. We asked for a recommendation about which wine to choose and he didn’t explain anything, he just showed us the very first choice and said it was ok. The wine was indeed very good, but we missed the experience of talking about the wine and its flavor… He was rather grumpy, and that kind of spoiled the beginning of the evening for us. After that we decided for ourselves and the other waitress was friendly and nice. So we had a good time.

It's a great place to taste great wines. They are not cheap but you wouldn't get good for cheap.They know the wines well and the atmosphere is great also. Would recommend.

This was our opening and closing place of our short stay in Siracusa. We love the staffs who were so friendly and helpful with my son’s allergies. Cheaper prices compared to other places, but quality is very high, good value for money. Also the atmosphere and environment was very chilling and clean.

Just passed this bakery by chance after visiting the Archeological Park. We had the best Arancini we’ve had so far in Sicily. Delicious!

Sicilian bar with pastry, coffee... Sicilian sweets in their highest quality and great coffee! Arancini was great too. Staff is nice and prices really really affordable, when visit Syracuse, I recommend to go there, don't need to hesitate!

A great little coffee shop serving just magical hot chocolate... They have 5 different types. To select from: dark, pistachio, white, normal and another one I forgot... I went with the pistachio and 3 small cakes and it was a perfect sugar hit to keep me running until dinner later.

Your one stop for every Sicilian delicacy ! Be it for a quick lunch or to enjoy a sweet dessert , you are sure to find something to pleasure your palate here. Among the sweet dishes be sure to try the Raviola con Ricotta or the Panzerotto con Ricotta. They are exquisite. Personnel is super friendly. Honest pricing helps too!

Host wasn’t particularly effusive upon entry but bar/sunbed staff were friendly and spoke English. Two swimming spot options with stair access and lovely view of the sea. Enjoyed our half day here. Peak season prices: 9am-2pm or 2-7pm - €20 upstairs/€25 downstairs for two beds All day - €30 upstairs/€35 downstairs for two beds

A bit on the pricier side (we paid 20 euro for half a day on the upper deck - 2 sun loungers with umbrella), but a great spot if you want to enjoy the sea while in Ortigia. Staff speaks English and there is a restaurant/bar for beverages, granita, panini and salads.

We had to make a reservation 1 day prior! Probably the only swimming opportunity in whole Ortigia. It is basically a sea swimming pool - a platform built on a rocky surface. Two swimming spots among rocks of different shapes and sizes, a nice view of the ocean but you cannot swim into the open sea. We paid 20 EUR for two beds without an umbrella for a halfday (2-7 p.m.). The drinks were good (7 EUR per drink).

The only sea establishment in the area. Certainly not cheap but classy. I recommend it if you have only a half day for a quick bath. Otherwise the beaches outside siracusa are a better choice. The sea here is not too deep with some rocks which can be dangerous if you don’t pay attention. I recommend Aqua shoes although some people dived without. Small dogs allowed.

Please just update your Google info that you are closed for the season, you could also avoid frustration by closing the upper door, installing a readable sign in two languages and have friendly staff members explain why this is the case. OR everyone would be happy to enjoy your deck also beyond the busy main season. Your choice.

Not only bad customer service but downright rude! This is a nice place but managed by people who dislike tourists, make fun of their customers thinking they do not undestrand Italian while all along speaking pitiful English. Total rip off anyway, I would totally boycott.

Honestly one of the best cocktails I ever had. Pity it was so little (see picture) and expensive. Still worth the five stars.

One of the most creative, cool bars I've ever visited. Love their concept and their complex, creative, delicious cocktails. Great decor and music. Really nice staff too. Right beside the Apollo Temple. LOVE...BOATS.

My partner and I visited a couple of times during our staff in Siracusa and have nothing but praise for the place and the staff. Lovely staff were attentive, knowledgeable and the bar staff were happy to suggest and make cocktails to suit individual tastes and likes. Being a massive negroni fan I was introduced to some variations I hadn't encountered before such as one with another favourite drink of mine, mezcal. Absolutely loved all of it. Brilliant work all, especially the ladies team who we met on our first visit.

Amazing location to stop and get a solid cocktail while overlooking the Temple of Apollo. The vibe and energy was great, and there was just something otherworldly about the experience of sipping on a beverage, while mopeds and cars zip inches by your feet as you stare at the 6th century BC ruins. We did eat here, but if we had chosen to eat elsewhere, and only have drinks here that'd probably be what I'd do for a second visit.
