Restaurant
Located just a short distance from Stirling Castle, River House Stirling offers a picturesque waterfront setting with stunning views through its floor-to-ceiling windows. The restaurant features a contemporary atmosphere with sleek leather seats and bright blue walls, creating the perfect backdrop for enjoying their seasonal fare and traditional British classics. Guests can also indulge in afternoon tea at Bobbys lounge without needing to make a reservation.
A hidden treasure of a Restaurant in lovely surroundings with a small Lochin and fountain in the grounds. Plenty of seating in this restaurant. Attentive service and the food is of a very good standard.

Simply overpriced and very pretentious for what it is.... Our experience here was rather underwhelming, the setting is gorgeous and the decor is lovely BUT the food is really what let things down, to start Haggis Pakora really was delicious, fresh and very well presented however the main was disappointing. The Steak Sandwich was to be honest something I'd struggle to serve my dog, asked for medium rare steak, it showed up well done and presentation was terrible for a main that was around the £16 mark I expected more. For tea, a coffee, two mains and two starters we paid over £76 and didn't feel it was worth the very high price tag.

Lots of mixed reviews here. We had a reservation and were seated immediately. Place is beautiful inside. However service (while efficient) was just very impersonal and quick. PROS: Space is beautiful If you want a fast meal this is it Space is beautiful CONS -Wife ordered chicken (gluten free) and said it was under seasoned and over cooked. -I got the lasagna. It was overcooked and very oily. -My son ate 1 of his kids tomato noodles and we ended up getting food elsewhere for him. -Smaller servings So many positive reviews so maybe we ordered the wrong dishes?
Spencer T — Google review
The mixed reviews on this place are fair. We didn’t book but got a table straight away inside next to the water and the atmosphere was beautiful. The food was tasty but overpriced. We also mentioned having an allergy and they were very cautious of that which was good. The service was not amazing, more specifically the waitress who served us was a little too casual/ unprofessional. We got there about 3pm on a Sunday and wanted a Sunday roast but were told that was unavailable as they had sold out of the ingredients?? It’s a Sunday and the restaurant closes at 11pm- how have they not prepared for this dish? We thought that was silly.
Michelle L — Google review
Love this place! Ate here this evening en route to Glasgow. Beautiful decor/lighting and location. Good atmosphere - amazingly busy for a Monday evening! Lovely menu and the best gluten free menu I’ve ever seen! Enjoyed vegetable tempura for starters and then a delicious spicy prawn dish for the main. Hubby had the fish and chips (also GF) and that was delicious too! This place is beautiful and does really good “pub grub”! Two courses for £20 was a great deal too! Wish you were closer to Aberdeen but we’ll definitely be back!
Alison M — Google review
Had a very special celebratory meal for 10 in the private dining area two days ago which was discussed with the manager Mark a few weeks before. On the day the room was set up beautifully. The service was outstanding with very attentive staff who were friendly, polite and yet unobtrusive as they saw to our every need. Everyone enjoyed their food and the ambiance of the room. The staff went above and beyond normal service and we would highly recommend private dining at this venue for any special occasion.
H M — Google review
This is how you run a successful business. Place packed, lots of quick and intelligent staff and the food is pretty nice. There isn't enough parking and the prices are high for what you get, but because the place is packed then the higher prices are something they can easily apply without losing customers. So I can't fault that as a business strategy. Effort has been made to have the interior look very pleasant and the atmosphere in here is good with no riff raff.
Richy H — Google review
Service and atmosphere were great! Food was not. We got the chicken fajitas and Superfood bowl- for the fajitas, the chicken was very obviously pre-cooked and from a bag, overcooked, tough, plus absolutely drowned in ragu tomato sauce. The “guacamole” was also just pre-packaged storebought guacamole, as were the tortillas. Could not finish it. The superfood bowl was just mid. No direction, bland, and generally meh. Healthy though! We also got the margarita, it also tasted like a pre-mix. I’m sure this restaurant probably has good options, but we might have just gotten the 2 worst things on the menu. This is nothing against the staff, they were extremely nice, and aesthetically it was one of the most beautiful restaurants I’ve been to. But just being honest, the food was bad. Do NOT get the chicken fajitas.

Gastropub

Nestled in a converted farm steading near Stirling Castle and the Wallace Monument, The Birds & Bees is a popular gastropub offering a cozy and modern ambiance. The charming white-washed cottage exterior leads to a beautifully decorated interior with plush leather couches, stone walls, and fireplaces. The menu features an array of British and international dishes, including chicken ecosse and spicy Mexican beef chili.
We chose the Birds and Bees for our wedding reception party and it was amazing! The venue is beautiful and so spacious and we had so many compliments from our guests. We had a fabulous meal and the buffet & party in the evening was perfect. We had such a lovely time and Danny and the team were so accommodating. Thank you so much for all your help. I highly recommend!

Great dining experience. Great cross between a traditional restaurant and a more modern one. I hade the steak pie and my wife had the salmon. Both were perfect. Atmosphere was eclectic farm. Food is traditional with a twist of modern. Only complaint would be the drinks were a bit light on alcohol.
Travis H — Google review
Beautiful scenic location in the countryside with eclectic decor on the inside. The food was exceptional, the mango avocado salsa was a surprise favorite all around the table. Salmon was the juiciest I've ever had, with a wonderful crusty sear on the outside. Not pictured is the Banoffee Slice which was absolutely decadent, I'm seriously going to have dreams about it. Also a table favorite. Service was just okay, but the food made up for it. Can't wait to go back!
Courtney K — Google review
We booked The Birds and Bees months in advance and I was actually a little surprised when I showed up and my name was on the list. The staff seemed a little busy and tired but Scotland in general appears to have had a long summer of tourism and it's a bit understandable. The food here is fantastic and it's obviously a favorite among locals. Great atmosphere and very comforting. We would certainly return
Ross K — Google review
We were here on Saturday lunch and the restaurant was quite busy. However, the service was fast and efficient. We had sirloin medium which cooked to perfection. Chicken parmigiana was great, melted cheese and chicken was juicy and tender. Fries can be better, we think it’s not flavourful. Sticky toffee pudding was delicious. Nice decor too.
Andreas — Google review
This is a truly one of a kind pub/restaurant the food, decore and staff make it incredibly memorable! We were lucky enough to be served by Katy who attentive, personable and lovely the whole time! We treated ourselves to a spread of the starters and this was a brilliant choice it was a hearty amount of food all as lovely as the rest! We highly recommend the haggis, smoked salmon and sweet potato fries! Thank you all again a lovely meal made better by great staff!
Kei F — Google review
We visited the Birds and Bees on Sunday for lunch to celebrate my birthday. We needed somewhere dog friendly for our two Bostons and we're so glad we found this lovely place. We had two Sunday roasts and a chicken dish and it was delicious. The beef was cooked to perfection and the yorkies did not disappoint. Desert was also unreal, we ordered sticky toffee pudding, Banoffee Pie and they even managed to find a cheeky Apple Crumple for me! As well as the lovely food, what really stood out was the service. Every single member of staff we spoke to was so lovely. They were attentive, professional but also warm and inviting, it really was incrediable service and for that, we'll definitely be back!

Excellent pub overnight stop. You need to buy a couple of drinks for parking overnight, but we ended up eating as the food was not that pricey and btw it was excellent. Toilets till 12am, till the pub closes. Very friendly staff.

Italian restaurant
Mamma Mia Restaurant is a charming and popular Italian dining spot located in the heart of Stirling's old town. The restaurant offers an intimate dining experience with both indoor and outdoor seating, serving up traditional Italian and Puglesian dishes such as carbonara, bruschetta, chicken cacciatore, specialty pizzas, and fresh homemade pasta. The cozy ambiance with candles and mood lighting adds to the welcoming atmosphere.
We visited Stirling Castle and our bus broke down so we had to find food and came across this gem! Everything was sooo delicious. I think about the house pasta often! The desserts were wonderful and to date the best Italian food I’ve ever tasted!

My first time in Stirling and I ended up with my partner booking last minute without no problem. The service was excellent and the food 10 out of 10. After a whole day travelling it was what we needed. I highly recommend, plus it's whiting walking distance from the castle.
SpanishTutorManchester — Google review
My husband and I visited Mamma Mia when visiting Stirling for our 4th anniversary. The food and service was outstanding and was one of the best meals out I have had. The wine was delicious too. The staff were so attentive and helpful. I could not recommend this place enough and I will be definitely revisiting if I am in the area again!

Fantastic place to grab a slice of pizza. New York style - pick what you want from their huge choice then they'll heat it up for you. The pizza itself has a delicious base and the toppings are great. If I lived closer to this place I'd weigh 30st 😎

Fabulous food and service as usual here at mama mia. Definitely recommend a visit if you're in Stirling. Probably best to book a table as it can be very busy.
Audrey C — Google review
Food, service and atmosphere was impeccable. I was so impressed by the quality and standard of food. I have not had Italian food like it since being in Italy. Also if you have young children, the staff are so fun and helpful to make your experience enjoyable. I will definitely be back in the future!
Cameron S — Google review
Really good food, friendly and attentive staff. We just had some wine and pasta…both were excellent. Sat outside in the cooler patio and watched the world spin as we ate in peace. Loved the experience ❤️
Tim C — Google review
The reason for dropping a star is because one member of staff was quite abrupt when we arrived which kinda set the tone, although as time went on the behaviour became more positive. The food is delicious and piping hot and overall Mamma Mia is a great wee restaurant. I just wish the staff would raise their game as this is the one part that lets the overall experience down.

What amazing service we got tonight ,the surroundings were very beautiful. Right down to the important part The Food. Our order was take then the food was brought to our table ,what can I say everything was so good. When taking our order the staff listen to what we want no mistakes just prefect. The food was of a very high standard and cooked to perfection. Thank you fora beautiful meal and amazing staff . Margaret Henderson.

Our small group stayed here last week as we were passing through the Stirling area. The location is pretty convenient with a grocery store nearby and plenty of parking. Our check in was a bit awkward, as you literally have to go to the bar in the restaurant - walking through eating area with baggage - sorry. The staff is very friendly and the service during our supper and breakfast was great. The food was also very good, but we found a few items during our travels that were a bit better. The rooms are clean but maybe a bit outdated. It does give you a great feel to local stay, but if travelling in the summer, be advised there is no air conditioning. This didn't bother us as you can open the window for a nice evening breeze. If you are looking at a longer stay, this hotel is not a short walk to the busy area of the city. Thanks for a very nice stay, and again, a hat tip to your welcoming staff.
Troy C — Google review
I decided to book here when looking for a Scottish restaurant and was glad when I did. First impressions of this place from outside to me looks as if it was a wealthy house. When entering the staff welcomed us and got us to our table. Inside the restaurant looks stunning, clean and cosy. We ordered the scotch egg and chicken goujons for starters. The scotch egg itself WOW it was perfectly cooked with seasoned meat around the egg runny inside and with a crust on the outside. It is accompanied by a chilli jam which was faultless. The main courses were perfect I couldn't find any faults with my meal or service from staff. The prices are also reasonable unlike other restaurants. It's a great place for a good meal the food is top quality and fresh, the only thing I should mention is please have a tracker on you so your loved ones can find you when attempting to go for the toilet.
The 6 — Google review
This was my first time here after a friend recommended it. The place is huge, lots of seating. Staff was also great and super quick and attentive. The food did take a while to come. I waited about 30-40 minutes so was starving. I ordered the Chicken Balmoral. It was good but very black peppery, I was tasting it in my mouth all day. The portion size was decent. Did need a side to fill up though. Had the halloumi fries for starter and they were delicious. They were a little cold when they arrived at the table, but the taste was still good. Overall was a good experience, but wouldn’t say this was my favourite food or be super quick to come back.
Donatello B — Google review
Absolutely delicious food, fresh, home made. Ordered chicken Balmoral with vegetables. The chicken was stuffed with haggis; veg was fresh and all meal very hot. Tried Scoth egg and olives - Would highly recommend as well. Easy to park. Lovely setting and friendly staff. Will come back to this place to eat as very sensible priced.

This was just a quick look in for a roll and vegan sausage and pot of tea (tea leaves mind). Good quality and service. At higher price range for a snack,£8.05, but all good. Nice tea in a nice teapot and cup combo with strainer. Might be posting another review soon as should be eating dinner there shortly.
Alan M — Google review
Had a delicious afternoon tea. Especially the scones were really good. A drink is also included, you can choose between tea, coffee or a softdrink. There is a car park available, which is free if you go to the restaurant. The afternoon tea requires pre-booking.

Perfect stop on a long drive to the Highlands. The slow-cooked beef was pure heaven, and they did me an affogatto for dessert even tho it's not on the menu. Chilled, friendly staff, and the food cooked with skill and love.

Bar
Italia Nostra Ltd is a charming, family-run Italian restaurant located in Stirling since 1990. The traditional decor and furniture create a romantic ambiance for an elevated dining experience. Known for its wide-ranging menu of Mediterranean classics, the restaurant offers notable dishes such as lasagna, seafood pasta, and tiramisu. Guests have praised the outstanding food, including grilled sirloin steak and tagliatelle with salmon, paired with a smooth Menabrea beer.
We were seated fairly quickly even though the place was packed. Loved the simple, traditional decor, furniture and tableware. The food was outstanding. We had the grilled sirloin steak, and the tagliatelle with salmon. Both dishes were very flavourful but the steak was the best I've had on this holiday. The house white went perfectly with the salmon and portion sizes were filling. Loved the Menanbrea beer - a smooth, light lager that they serve by the pint. I would definitely go back and 100% recommend.
Renee N — Google review
Amazing dishes; pasta, pizza, soup, all delicious. The deserts were phenomenal. It was a meal that lived up to the fancy Italien aesthetic. The Tagliatelle Con Salmone, Pizza Capricciosa, Tiramisu, and Cheesecake are all dishes I would recommend from my experience. The risotto is the only dish that was described as not so phenomenal by another from my group. The atmosphere, dishes, and service all created an amazing meal, which I would recommend to anyone looking for a fancy/classy meal.
Kinton T — Google review
Absolutely the best Italian restaurant in Stirling, probably in the county or even Scotland. My wife and I have gone several times and never been disappointed. Staff are always polite and respectful. The portions are very generous, so don't over order or you'll be taking the delicious food home. 2 thumbs up in my opinion.
Kevin M — Google review
Had mussels and scallops for starters which was great. However was terribly disappointed in the mains. The vodka Salmon pasta was terrible. The Salmon was cold compared to the sauce which made it obvious that it was added at a later stage. The pasta was clumped together and some bits definitely were raw. The carbonara however was decent. Also asked for a pint which ended up being £9. Definitely would not recommend or come again

We enjoyed an exceptional dinner tonight including the Rigatoni alla Calabrese. It was surprisingly authentic and full of flavor. Great service as well!
Joshua E — Google review
This is a popular Italian restaurant in Stirling city center. I would suggest making reservations ahead of time, especially on weekend and evenings. My husband and I didn’t have a reservation either time, but staff was able to locate a table for us which we appreciated! It has a variety of dishes and choices to choose from. We’ve been here several times, being the 22nd and the 30th of August 2024 the last two. We ordered different dishes both times, and we both liked what we had. One thing we have noticed is that there seems to be a staff shortage as the service has been a little bit slower than usual lately, but the staff in general is very polite, helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. These last two times we’ve been there we waited about 20 to 25 minutes for the meal which had not happened before. Food is always delicious and flavorful, a bit small dishes in some specific cases (Vitello al limone is an example of it) though. Prices are more on the higher end, but still reasonable for a meal that is delicious. You can swap the side dish of your meal upon request. Sadly, there is no choice of whole-wheat pasta for those of us that are under certain dietary restrictions which I would love to see change and I’m sure others would love it too. Overall, it’s a good place, nice environment, kind staff, convenient location, tasty dishes, reasonable prices, and the feel of having a piece of Italy in Stirling!
Anna T — Google review
The food was amazing, authentic Italian cooking. There was a slight wait but considering we hadnt pre booked a table on a saturday night - 100% worth the wait. Serloin steak was cooked to perfection.

Green Gates Authentic Indian Restaurant is housed in a beautifully renovated Georgian townhouse in Stirling, offering a sophisticated and elegant atmosphere. The smart modern brasserie-style venue features wood panels and floors, creating a rich ambiance. The menu showcases classic Indian dishes like pakoras, biryanis, and tandoori chicken alongside unique options such as haddock cooked in coconut milk and tamarind.
Food was delicious, we ordered Lamb chops and Tandoori broccoli for starters which were great. We had garlic chilli chicken and chicken tikka pardesi for main which were good and Peshwari Naan which was delightful. Staff were very friendly, we will definitely be back and would recommend it.

Definitely one of the best Indian restaurants we visited during our trip to United Kingdom. Located at a walking distance from Sterling Castle, it's a cozy restaurant which serves authentic indan cuisine. The food served was delicious & reasonable as well.

Just had a fantastic meal here and can’t recommend it highly enough! The food was absolutely delicious — full of rich flavour and clearly made with care. Every dish we tried was spot-on, especially the Raan for two, and the portions were generous too. The service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing, and the atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. We left full, happy, and already planning to come back.

We were 3, 1 veg and 2 Non veg. visited based on the reviews. Dal Makhani tasted bland. Waiter recommended Raan (lamb thigh) dish for two of us. The dish again tasted bland with spread of tomato onion sauce. Too much quantity for 2 people. It was a disappointing lunch.

Brea is a lively and contemporary Scottish restaurant that offers a diverse menu featuring locally-sourced Scottish fare, including traditional dishes like haggis and cullen skink, as well as gourmet burgers and vegan options. The restaurant prides itself on using fresh ingredients from local suppliers, including seafood from the west coast and islands. In addition to its food offerings, Brea also boasts a selection of Scottish spirits, ciders, and craft beers.
Me and my family visited Stirling and we thought it would be a good idea to see this restaurant. We were welcomed very warmly. The servers were really polite and really sweet, so thank you ☺️. The atmosphere felt really Scottish and also cosy and warmly. The food, though, was BRILLIANT. I loved it start to finish. I don’t think I’ve ever been able to finish my food before, shout out to the chef, who made the amazing food. I would REALLY recommend coming here to visit there when going to Stirling.

Such a lovely restaurant! We popped in for lunch after our Stirling Castle tour, and we're so glad we did! Their soup of the day was potato, leek, and wild garlic soup *delicious*, and hubby ordered haggis & blood sausage bon bons for starters (side note: first time in 10 days since we've been on Scotland that I tried haggis, and wow! This was so good!!!). Our mains: hubby ordered the steak burger (he raved about how good it was) and I had the haddock stuffed with smoked salmon - again, delicious! The decor is lovely and wait staff was fantastically friendly and professional. Definitely pop in to this delightful place!
Kimberly P — Google review
What an appalling experience. Came here with my husband and kids as we fancied some decent Scottish food. My stepson ordered the kids burger which when it arrived was so hot that as he bit into it, burning hot fat came out of the burger and burnt his chin. His chin remained red for the rest of the meal. He is 9 years old and was nearly in tears so hate to think what this could have done to a younger kid. We let the staff know to hopefully avoid this happening to anyone else. My husband ordered the monkfish special and when it arrived it was an absolutely laughable portion size (see attached photo). That was £34 for the meal pictured plus some potatoes not pictured. My husband questioned it but apparently this is the size of the portion. He sent it back as there is no way we were paying for it. We eat out all of the time and have never been so shocked at the value for money of a dish. My venison was also far too undercooked. I appreciate venison should be served pink but this was genuinely like eating a chunk of raw meat - not nice. Overall it feels like this place is priced as a high quality restaurant (mains all around £20-£35, which is expensive particularly for lunch) but the quality of the cooking just doesn’t match the price point. We usually have no issues waiting a long time for good food (they are very clear about the length of time you wait for food) but we ended up waiting and then having to go somewhere else to get something to eat after. I’d seriously avoid coming here. So disappointed.

I was looking for a Scottish restaurant while visiting Sterling for a day and this one , found on Google maps, did not disappoint. The food was fresh, very tasty and beautifully presented. We had haggis and black pudding bon bons, salmon scotch egg with mussels- simply fantastic combination, and a house burger , also delicious. They have good selection of craft beers, whiskey and local gins- I highly recommend Harris. The service was attentive and polite.

We stopped by here after visiting the castle for lunch. Service was prompt and friendly, and the food was delicious - scallops, prawns and the haggis bon bons. Most of the menu items are takes on traditional Scottish dishes and definitely worth trying. I took off a star because it is on the more expensive side especially if you have an alcoholic drink!

Beautiful meal! 🥘 had the smoked salmon wrapped in haddock and it was delicious, simply fell apart. The mash was lovely and creamy and the veggies perfectly cooked. Will definitely be back!

We were lucky enough to have this place recommended to us while we were stuck on a train. This was one of the best meals we've ever had. I had the haggis (first time trying it) with a turnip puree and it was divine. Highly recommend this spot

Absolutely faultless! From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome and felt very looked after! Nuala and Jill were absolute gems! They really helped us decide what to choose as well because the menu was so tempting we just wanted to have everything! We decided to start with the haggis and black pudding bonbons with turnip purée and an amazing whisky sauce which were absolutely delicious and then scallops with roasted cauliflower purée and crispy Parma ham. No words 😋 For main course Meni had the swordfish loin which was served with a mango and papaya salsa and some roasted tomatoes on the side with a side salad which was perfectly dressed. I had the rolled haddock which was actually stuffed with salmon and served with perfectly cooked vegetables and a creamy del sauce. I’ve never had a dish like this and it was highly recommended by. Nuala! Of course we couldn’t leave without having sticky toffee pudding and I have to say one of my absolute favourites is from a place in Orkney but this actually rivalled their sticky toffee pudding! A huge thank you to all the staff for making it a very special birthday dinner!

Austrian restaurant
Hermanns is a charming restaurant located in Stirling, offering a delightful mix of Scottish and Austrian cuisine made from locally sourced ingredients. The elegant white tablecloth setting provides an intimate atmosphere to savor the array of Austrian dishes. With high-quality food and service, Hermanns is known for its excellent dining experience. Situated close to Stirling Castle, it's a convenient stop for those exploring the area.
We had a lovely Scottish experience with our tour group at Hermann’s restaurant in Sterling. Our guide, a bagpiper from Sterling castle piped us down from the castle to the old town restaurant and we all came inside. He told us stories, played the bagpipes and we had a wonderful meal in the comfortable restaurant. Our Piper presented the haggis, which was absolutely delicious, and addressed the proud haggis with the famous Robbie Burns poem. A Scottish flag waved in the breeze from the open window. It was a lovely experience and as Scottish as you can get in an Austrian restaurant!

After a visit to the Stirling Castle we found just at the bottom of the hill Hermann's to satisfy our hunger. I have to say that the lady that served us was one of the warmest persons I have ever meet, constantly asking us if we need something or if the food is ok. We got our food in a relatively short time, the plates were looking amazing and the food was tasty. The price was a good one, maybe cheaper with 20% than similar places. Thank you.
Veronica C — Google review
We had a meal on the 31st Oct. It was really quiet for a Friday night (ok, I know it's Halloween, but not everyone wants to celebrate it) I ordered a Weiner Schnitzel and my husband the Jagers version. His looked pretty tasty, mine was a slab of very greasy Schnitzel on a huge plate with room to spare. The very crunchy, almost raw, vegetables and the potatoes wedges (which were ok) came on a side plate. They could have been served on the same plate as the Schnitzel. Just poor presentation and texture. The atmosphere was dull, decor tired, no background music, toilet rather icky. The staff were overqualified for the job as they were incredibly attentive and did heir utmost best, but more suited for a much grander restaurant! Shame, as it used to be a really nice homely place, but now feels like it's flogging a dead horse. Guys, don't just favour the tourists, remember the locals too, going out for a meal is already expensive, so a bit more effort in the food goes a long way to them coming back.

We had an excellent dinner at Hermanns this weekend. Staff were friendly, the service was very quick and the restaurant was lovely and clean. We ordered the wiener schnitzel followed by the apfelstrudel and creme brulee from the a la carte menu and everything tasted incredible! Can't wait to visit again!

Gabe's Diner is a relaxed and homey bistro with an excellent choice of menu. The food is really delicious and the staff are friendly and welcoming. This is the perfect spot to head to if you're looking for a quick but satisfying meal in central Stirling.
We came for lunch as we happened to be in the vicinity and my wife fancied the three cheese crepes I'd seen in the menu online. So glad we did! Gabe's was amazing, their menu had so many options that I had difficulty choosing one but the chorizo bangers and mash were outstanding and I would genuinely sit with a jug of the gravy and a spoon. My wife adored the crepe we'd come for and insisted she was trying the raspberry and ginger one before we could go. Since that gave me time for the banana fritters it was not a problem! Overall this was ana amazing find that we would heartily recommend if you're anywhere nearby, and by that I mean I'm going to be driving up from Glasgow to explore more of their menu!
Michael C — Google review
The smell of the log fire caught my attention, and we followed it. The staff are awesome! My dog was made welcome and was brought a fresh bowl of water. The food was delicious! The coffee was really creamy. I ordered three for myself, two while eating and one for the road. I was visiting the area from Livingston, but I'll definitely come visit again, and if I know anyone who's going to Sterling I will highly recommend this place. The music volume was just right, and the ambiance was cosy. Thank you for a very pleasant experience. My son and his partner also thoroughly enjoyed their order from the menu, which has an impressive varied selection, all of which sounds tasty! 10/10

Recently visited Gabe’s for an evening meal with my partner. The restaurant has a very cosy feel and we had a lovely relaxed time here. We thoroughly enjoyed our food (I must highlight the vegan pancakes which were amazing 😄) and could tell it was prepared with high quality, fresh ingredients. Service was great, very friendly and welcoming. Could not recommend high enough.

The sleeper hit of Stirling, just on the outskirts of the city center. Some of the most flavourful food for reasonable prices and great service. The cosy atmosphere is the icing on the cake. I heartily recommend either their steak sandwiches or their meatballs!
William H — Google review
Had the Steak sandwich. Amazing filling, chips where skin on hand cut and were lovely. Staff lovely and friendly. Short walk from premier Inn and well worth the trip
J H — Google review
The restaurant looked dirty and abandoned from the outside, but we still decided to give it a try. When we entered the nearly empty place around 4 PM, we were immediately told we only had one hour to eat due to upcoming reservations. We were then seated at a small table for two, placed right next to the toilet. The rushed attitude and the poor table location made us feel unwelcome, so we decided to leave. It was clear to us that we weren’t welcome. No problem — we’ll just go somewhere we are.
T. T — Google review
I went for the braised steak sandwich, and while the combination of sweet fried onions, creamy mushrooms, and tender, juicy steak was spot on, the ciabatta was sadly soggy from all the sauce. I yearned for a crispy crunch with each bite. 🥪🤔 On the bright side, the sandwich was meatier than a Highland cow, and the service was as warm and welcoming as a cozy fireplace on a cold Scottish night. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿❤️ The only hiccup was the price, which felt a wee bit steeper than some other bistro options in the area. 💷💼 Now, for dessert, I indulged in a heavenly slice of pumpkin pie adorned with toasted almonds, an orange caramel drizzle, and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. It was like a sweet symphony for the taste buds, a delightful ending to the meal. 🥧🍨 In all, a lovely bistro experience, despite the minor ciabatta hiccup. If you're not penny-pinching, the dessert alone is worth the visit. 👌

Darnley Coffee House is a charming cafe located in the ground floor vaulted cellars of a historic house on Bow Street in Stirling. Despite local legend suggesting Lord Darnley once stayed here, the building wasn't constructed until after his death. The cafe offers a cozy and homely atmosphere, making it an ideal spot to enjoy delicious sandwiches and coffee. Additionally, it serves home baking, soups, and has a good vegan menu.
We had the best experience here! Cozy atmosphere, incredibly friendly and helpful staff and great food. Our dogs were absolutely pampered with treats, and we very much enjoyed our toasties and soup!

Lovely, lovely lunch. If you are thinking of a healthy, homemade lunch which won't kill your wallet that's the place to be. However the place gets busy so you may not get a table straight away. The menu is made of baked potatoes, toasties and soups. We decided to go for a soup and salad and it was yummy. Very good and quick service. I would recommend it.
Anna S — Google review
We each had smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwiches, home made broccoli and chicken soup, and their homemade cordials (strawberry & basil and rhubarb, orange & vanilla). Everything was amazing. Some of the best soup we’ve ever tasted. The history and charm of the place is amazing. We’re so glad we stopped in

I was warmly welcomed in here. This place has character as it is an older building. I was chuffed to get a window seat. I was only looking for a cup of tea since I had already had my lunch. Highly recommended cafe.

Spotted this coffee shop on Google Maps as walking distance from Stirling Castle and near P2 bus stop. Our timing was perfect and seated before a tourist group of 16 arrived who had pre-booked. Such a great selection of freshly grounded coffee served in a cafeteria. Freshly made food from scones to soup and more. Great atmosphere and location
David W — Google review
Lovely little café — we got a seat straight away, and there was a great choice of food. Our meal was delicious and reasonably priced. The café has such an interesting history — it was once owned by Darnley, Mary Queen of Scots’ husband, and has even been a brothel and a tourist shop at one point! It’s full of character and perfectly located near both the castle and the monument. Staff were lovely and helpful too!

This hole in the wall place was such a lovely find! The scones we had were light and fluffy, the cream was excellent, and the jam was so flavorful. Add to that the friendly waitstaff and nice atmosphere and you have a winner. My boyfriend and I can strongly recommend this place 🙌🏼

Lovely little gem in Stirling with nice decor and lovely food. We had the spicy scramblers which was lovely and not to spicy. We also got the champions breakfast and this was tasty and sweet with the honey through it. We would visit again when we are in the area.

They used an end of an oval loaf to make my sandwich, so it ended up being tiny. Taste wise it wasn't terrible, but they definitely skimped on the meat and cheese. Fries came out crispy and hot, but completely unseasoned. An omelet was a little too wet and lacked flavor.

Fabulous place for breakfast! We stayed at the Premier Inn across from Toast. The menu is fabulous with lots of choice. The French toast with Nutella and banana was incredible! Really sweet staff and lovely vibe! The waiting time may take more than 10 minutes depending on the day, but once inside it's a really good experience. We were lucky enough to see this spot and decide to stop in. We were quickly seated despite not having reservations and it being 1 hour to close. The room was full of locals that knew the owner, everyone was enjoying their meals and table conversations. It brought smiles to our face. We had the lamb, hummus, olives, and a chicken dish. Wow, what a find in the centre of Stirling. It may not have the flashy aesthetic of a 5 star restaurant, but it is quant and unique in it's appearance. The food is absolutely delicious and cheap. If it wasn't cold and wet outside I would think I was in Greece.

Great service and lovely, clean place. The gyros was a little different in taste to the many I've had before (different herbs & seasoning perhaps), but nice nevertheless. Accompanied by Mythos beer, always a winning combination. The owner was a great host; welcoming and very personable.

Cafe Aina Restaurant is a cozy eatery located on Cowane Street, offering a mix of Greek-inspired dishes with vegan options. Despite its small size, the cafe serves an impressive array of food from breakfast to dinner, including vegan omelettes, tofu or falafel Souvlaki, and burgers with vegan cheese. What's more surprising is that their daily cake selection is entirely vegan as well. You can either dine in or opt for takeaway and even delivery through Just Eat.
Every time i have been to this place always been very satisfying Honestly one of the best place to have proper traditional greek food and i suggest everyone should go once before they close because the person who serves me every time told me they are gonna be retiring soon as his parents are too old to keep working. Tbh my favourite dish is chicken gyros but the other dishes are very tasty and fresh too, as i tried there chicken souvlaki today with extra halloumi and it was as good as the chicken gyro! The day they will close i believe will be a miss from Stirling. ❤️❤️

Cafe Aina is the best! My 8-year-old daughter and I eat there regularly. At first, I was a little nervous because I was not familiar with the items on the menu. That was quickly resolved when everything was kindly explained to me and suggestions were made based on our likes and dislikes. The food is delicious, and you are sure to find something for everyone. This is a family owned and operated restaurant, and it is a wonderful place to eat, have a coffee, and/or enjoy a homemade dessert (or milkshake, which is our favorite). We absolutely love it!

This was a fantastic meal and at an incredible price - in London or Edinburgh you'd have paid at least twice as much for food of this quality. The concept is 5 courses of small plates, with 3 options in each line. There were enough options for vegetarian and gluten free. Service was superb, and there was a decent range of wines by the glass, or you could have the matching drinks menu. The food was magnificent. Of the 10 dishes we tried between the 2 of us there was only one we thought disappointing and a few choices were absolute standouts. An absolute must if you're visiting Stirling or heading through the region in your way to the Highlands.

Beautiful, delicious dishes prepared with care. Lots of depth of flavors, loved every bite!! Portions for the 5-course dinner may be a bit small for a larger appetite. Settle Inn is a historic watering hole in Stirling, dating back to 1733 and known as the oldest pub in the area. It offers a cozy atmosphere with a fireplace where visitors can enjoy whisky and possibly encounter some spooky ghosts. The pub provides a nostalgic experience reminiscent of old candy shops. While it may not be well-organized for events, it's still a great place to spend time with friends and enjoy good music.
Beautiful old historical pub located in Stirling. Doesn't serve food. Don't just nip in to have a look or use the toilet as many people did while we were there, have a seat and a drink weather it be alcohol or a soft drink, guy has to make a living. We will be back!!!

While walking around Stirling, we noticed this place advertising "Live Scottish music" so we went back in the evening. It was like an Irish session - lots of musicians playing traditional tunes, some with acapella singing, others just instrumental. We grabbed a pint of cider for £4 and sat down. There was no room in the back where the musicians were, but we grabbed a table in the front. It's a cozy place, but my wife (who has a stronger sense of smell) noted that the place had an unpleasant stale odor to it - a lovely combination of sweat, beer, and years of smoke.

Disabled person on wheels, here for Pride. I needed to use the bathroom and struggled to find anywhere with an accessible toilet - obviously if this bar had an accessible toilet, I'd then be happy to stay and spend the rest of my night purchasing drinks after going to spend a penny. When asking the bouncer if there was an accessible toilet, I was told it was inside & straight ahead. There, I was met with several stairs after the first few tables - no toilet in sight. I turned back round and went out, said to my partner outside "They don't have an accessible toilet? That was weird." Cue the bouncer, overhearing us, immediately getting aggressive stating that he was obviously directing us to the "Staff Only" labelled door as that had a toilet behind it. He was incredibly defensive and said he wouldn't send me inside unless he knew there was "obviously a toilet on this floor". I said there was no signs except one stating Staff Only, and asked if that toilet had grab rails and a red cord which made it an accessible toilet. A toilet for disabled people is NOT just a loo that happens to have no stairs involved, and most disabled people who use accessible toilets need much more than that to enable them to use it independently. Obviously, a bouncer is not going to allow a female into a toilet with my male partner, so I clearly could not then use the toilet myself. We left and were met with disgusting and snarky comments from the bouncer as we went away. Really disappointing and won't be back. Today was Stirling Pride, and I was dressed accordingly, and I am concerned that we were treated without any sense of respect or politeness on the basis of us being visibly gay.

We were really excited about trying this place for the first time. However we were very quickly brought down to earth with the long, long wait at the bar, I'm talking 20mins. It wasn't even that busy, 2 deep at the bar. The staff were completely inept at managing customers, there was a guy that showed up and was served in a few minutes, I'd been at the bar for 15min at the time! Went to sit down, tables covered in discarded drinks, free tables & chairs covered in poured drinks, you'd think it was 3am, it was actually 9pm! Toilet floors covered in pish, ladies bereft of toilet paper (I'm told), what a shambles this place is. Won't be back any time soon.

I was so excited to try the food here, and I left so disappointed. We we're waiting over 45 minutes for our food to come, and when it finally did we were disgusted. My burger was burned to the point I thought I was chewing on charcoal, and the fries weren't much better. (I would have sent it back, only I didn't want to wait a further 45 minutes -so we ate it and left). I seriously regret not saying anything at the time because it's really put me off going back.

Great food and fast service. Prices are great as well. Staff are excellent and really helpful. Food was brought fast and great presentation. Atmosphere is brilliant and decor is good as well and lots of large TV screens for any sporting events they are showing and easily seen from a wide part of the bar.

Highland Gate in Stirling offers a charming rustic atmosphere and stunning panoramic views of the Wallace Monument and Ochil Hills. Despite its serene location, it's conveniently close to the center of Stirling. The West Highland Gate Beefeater in Milngavie is a great spot for sizzling chargrill experiences with family and friends. While the restaurant can get busy, the professional staff ensures a pleasant dining experience.
We stayed two nights at the hotel and had both breakfast and dinner in the restaurant. It’s a great location in Stirling - easy to find and has a park-and-ride close by with direct route to the castle. There is a gas station right beside for those that have a car. It was an incredibly friendly and welcoming place from our first check-in. The food was phenomenal, and it’s a beautiful pub for drinks. Reservations for dinner were recommended, but not required at the times we went. They are also very dog friendly at the pub which speaks volumes - we didn’t have our dogs with us for the trip but saw a few pups being treated very well. The service was amazing - really appreciated both Callum and Kameron for the kindness, trip suggestions, and friendly banter. I highly recommend the Highland Gate, mostly for the incredible people, but the food and drinks are worth the trip as well!

Thank you to Cameron - best dressed cowboy - who took our order with just the right amount of attention throughout. We had camembert to share with warm fresh bread - lovely -and the steaks were cooked perfectly. Compliments to the chef. Recommend a visit to the Highland Gate.

A great place to stay visiting Sterling as the town centre is so crowded you can park here and walk 30 min. Affordable great breakfast and dinner. Great friendly staff.

Delicious food at a reasonable price. Breakfasts were cooked fresh to order, rather than buffet, which we preferred. The weekend evening deal was fantastic value at 3 courses for £28. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, particularly Laura and Amanda. Special thanks goes to Callum, who went out of his way to make sure we had an lovely evening on my wife's birthday. Easy and convenient access from the M9 and into Stirling, especially if you are using the adjoining hotel. We will definitely eat here again when we are in Stirling / passing by.

Stopped off at this venue after a long weekend in Scotland - we chose this as we regularly eat at Marston restaurants. First impressions was great, very clean, tidy and nicely decorated. The pub was not particularly busy, we approached the female bartender/server to enquire about having a meal, she wasn't really engaging or welcoming, but did eventually show us to a table - thankfully, all the other staff were engaging and pleasant. We ordered our drinks and two roast dinner meals, my partner chose the larger roast as this also came with stuffing and crackling. Food arrived, wouldn't say the potion size was generous, comparing to the Sunday roast dinners we have had at other Marston pubs and it certainly needed more gravy. What was more disappointing was the fact both meals had missing items - crackling and the stuffing. This was highlighted to the duty manager when he asked if everything was OK with our meals, by which time we had nearly finished eating. He did offer to give a free dessert as an apology, but after paying for the meal and looking at the receipt, this was never honoured, again this just added to out disappointing dinning experience. Whilst we were having our meals, the couple on the table opposite also experienced a problem with their meals, neither of their dinners arrived with roast potatoes! Clearly this venue is experiencing some training and quality control issues in the kitchen, which needs addressing urgently. It is not a complex dinner menu to serve and present, especially in the current financial climate when it's certainly deemed as a treat to eat out, so customers expect and deserve a better dinning experience. ***Reply to Mr Ventisei: Thank you for your reply. For me, a kitchen that's sending out four wrong/incomplete meals in a space of 20mins, isn't running accordingly - enjoy your trip to Egypt, as clearly you're in denial 👍

Nestled right next to the iconic Stirling Castle, The Portcullis is a historic pub that dates back to 1787, offering visitors a delightful glimpse into Scotland's rich culinary heritage. With its vibrant and simple rooms, this charming establishment features a lovely walled garden where you can unwind after exploring the area. A visit here is incomplete without indulging in authentic Scottish dishes like haggis or fresh seafood, making it a must-stop for food enthusiasts.
After a morning of driving and exploring the amazing Stirling Castle, we needed a place to have lunch. This was recommended by one of the staff of the Castle. It did not disappoint. We all had something different, and 3 of us tried haggis. I have to admit, it was not what I expected, more of a coarse sausage texture and the taste was also very similar to sausage. The food was great, my wife had the pineapple salad, my son had the burger with haggis, my daughter had a chicken sandwich and I had the steak pie. All delicious. Our server was super friendly and very helpful.

This place became my husband and my favorite place. The authenticity of this place was captivating! Food was delicious, great price, lots of drink options, inside and outside seating. The staff was friendly, inviting, and very welcoming! We ended many of our nights with a drink here either in the restaurant, the outside patio and in a charming little space with couches that was very quiet and private. Highly recommend if you want to truly interact with locals.

Wonderful pub meal! We had the steak and ale pie and the highland chicken stuffed with haggis. Both delicious and ample portions. Great service.
Nicole B — Google review
We went just for eating: The location is great just outside the Stirling castle parking area. The interior is cosy and neat, with a nice, comfortable hearth, I want to say despite burning coal. The service is what you could expect, kind and simple. The drinks are rather pricey, even with the cappuccino being large and the tea being two small portions in one. Clean presentation, though, and the cappuccino was good, as well as the tea, being the standard Scottish blend. The food is where it goes bad. We went for some of the cheaper options as the menu is quite expensive overall, especially if you just want to have lunch. Even if it's nice that there are some cheaper, normal-priced options, it feels like being ripped off.... The steak pie is NOT a steak pie. It is a bowl of beef stew with a bit of pastry on top. I am aware this happens in other places too, and that it is easier for them, but it is just wrong to call that a pie. The pastry was a bit tough on the bottom making it hard to eat without pressing the stew out of the bowl. The beef stew was so overcooked it resembled something like dog food, despite tasting alright. There was no vegetables in it or anything though, just beef and sauce, rather one-dimensional, not a great taste. The carrots and peas were clearly from a jar or can. The peas were dry and the skin was tough, as if it had been standing for a while, or had been microwaved. The carrots were boiled I assume, whereas microwaving them would have been nicer, because now what little taste they had in the jar was replaced by water. Just tasteless and low effort, done cheap but still £14.50. The macaroni cheese looked nice, even tasted as though it was supposed to be fancy, with a distinct ricotta flavour in the sauce. But it was almost as if the sauce had more texture than the macaroni, being completely overcooked to the point of almost being mush. The ricotta in the sauce was also the only taste it had, the cheese on top barely tasting like anything. The thin slice of tomato that had dried out from roasting had the most flavour of anything in both dishes. The only redeeming factor with both dishes was that the chips were actually great. If the rest was like that too, it would have been a 4.5-5 star review. Cannot speak for the entire menu, of course, but the obvious signs of microwave use and low effort do not make me want to revisit next time we visit the castle or Stirling. I feel reluctant to be so harsh, as the staff was nice, but this is accurate with the quality of the food, nothing personal.

Fantastic value with a nice atmosphere. Found this place while doing a bit of Christmas shopping in Stirling. Popped in for a quick bite to eat and we were pleasantly surprised. The establishment is situated over two floors. Downstairs has a real log burning fire, which creates a nice relaxed atmosphere. Upstairs has a more vibrant open feel, with large windows running the full length, both sides of the building. The food is really good value for money and the staff are always friendly and efficient. Service is fast, in our experience, served to your table within 10 minutes of ordering on the app. Coffee is free refil with lots of choices. Overall, good food, well priced in relaxed atmosphere.

A welcome stop after walking down from Stirling Castle on a windy day. A cold pint of Tennant and a cider for my wife along with steak and ale pudding was what we need before walking back to Castle view P&R to continue our journey. Didn't know Sunday had no buses ,so we stretched our legs

Lately, I’ve been getting my breakfast and coffee (refill) here once a week. The service is amazing — almost instant! I order right from my table using my phone, and within moments, my coffee cup arrives so I can make my latte at the machine. As someone who's been living in the UK, I've missed the authentic taste of home-cooked Chapatis, but this place nailed it! I decided to go to City Wall to do some studying and grab some lunch for their lunch special (£8.49 for a lunch dish, chips, and drink). The steak and cheese sandwich was alright, the cheese wasn’t the greatest since it was two slices of cheese that wasn’t melted on it. The service was great though! I ordered up at the bar with no wait and they brought me my silverware to my table about 5 minutes after I ordered. I was shocking surprised that the pub wasn’t busy at 12:45 with two major football games going on, so I was able to snag a table almost immediately. I would definitely come for the drinks and maybe different food :)

Greetings from Czech Republic. We initially wanted to visit the Baker street location, but were recommended the second one, City Walls. They were sadly out of Fish&Chips, but that could be expected as it was rather later in the afternoon. Ordered several beers and ciders and weren't disappointed, although one of us was rather confused as they received a bottled beer but wanted a draft beer. You receive bottled beer under the Beer section in the menu, and right above it, with a small writing and without any bigger title, there is a text that you need to go to the bar to see what draft beers they offer. That is rather unfortunate but the beer was good so no biggie. Other than that the Chicken Kari was out of this world, as well as the Meat pies. Will visit again when our ways cross again! Definitely worth a try! And the lady at the bar was phenomenal and recommended us up to our liking instead of what wasn't available.

We got a takeaway fish supper. Very unassuming from the outside. The fish AND the chips were so delicious we got a second one to share. I can honestly say this is one of the best chippies I’ve ever had. Absolutely delicious. Perfectly cooked. Fish tasty and succulent and the potatoes tasted beautiful as crunchy chips with a soft and fluffy centre. I’ve been to Rick Stein’s chippy in Cornwall and this is up there with them for flavour. Perfect!

Meravilioso! Che posto fantastico. Escobar has been here three times already this week. First time for takeaway fish and chips which were great. Nice thin batter. Then for ice creams which were delicious. Then for our evening meal. The first time we tried to get in it was full up all night so we booked in the next time. Make sure that you book to avoid disappointment. Just ring up or pop in. Our meal was excellent. Our host recommended a lovely bottle of wine. The food was delicious. It's great here because you can have half portions so I had half a portion of pasta and a seven inch pizza. Best of both worlds! The price was very good too and the service was very attentive. Ma, questo bar è davvero fantastico. Bennisimo.

We visited Sterling this past June, we went to Corrieri's for breakfast and it was so good we decided to go for dinner too and even again the day after that! Mr Corrieri himself was very nice and accommidating, he sat with us and gave us a few lessons about the Scottish ways he told us about William Walace and Sir William Scott. He gave us a few names of places to go visit as well. The food was really good, the drinks were amazing as well and the Gelati was super yummy. Our friend Jessica is also looking forward to her future job as a Gelati maker at Corrieris !😁😅

I imagine a good percentage of the business at this cafe comes from tourists hungry after visiting the Wallace monument. That is a category into which I fall, and I am extremely happy I went here. The welcoming Italian charm of this place is palpable, and it made me think fondly of my own escapades around Italy about five years ago. I appreciate how the service is warm and welcoming without being overbearing, and the inside of the cafe provides an abundance of space. A certain pleasure and delight emerges from simply being in a place that is run well and run thoughtfully. There is nothing particularly distinctive about this cafe, but there's nothing wrong with that: it is simply trying to be a comforting Italian cafe, and in that ambition, it succeeds.

Corrieri's offers a nostalgic trip back to the 60s with its charming decor and vibrant atmosphere. Eager to try their offerings, I opted for a Hawaiian pizza, which impressively arrived in just 8 minutes and 37 seconds. Despite the swift service, the pizza itself was a bit of a letdown. Overloaded with oregano, it overshadowed the other flavors, resulting in a rather tasteless experience. However, the aesthetic charm of the place and the friendly, efficient service somewhat balanced the scales.

Restaurant
Mint Leaf Nepalese and Indian Restaurant is a delightful culinary gem that beautifully marries the rich flavors of Nepalese and Indian cuisine. Nestled in Sterling, this eatery stands out with its stunning interior design and artistic plating, creating an inviting atmosphere for diners. The menu features a diverse array of dishes, including unique offerings like haggis pakora that pay homage to local Scottish flavors while still embracing traditional Himalayan spices.
Fantastic place to eat Indian food. Heat level on curries was spot on, portions were large and delicious! Min (server) was professional, very friendly and a delight to chat with! Popadoms were one of the very best I’ve had and I’ve had a few too many. Highly recommended overall!

Stirling is so lucky to have such good Indian restaurants. My food at mint leaf was superb. I had the crispy aloo as a starter then chicken tikka jalfresi with mushroom rice. Soooo tasty!!! I loved the huge photos around the walls too. Definitely would be a regular if I lived here!

What a great find. Only here in Stirling for one night. Passed a few places but then happened upon Mint Leaf. Spotlessly clean. Really nice polite staff. Oh and the food was delicious, fresh, hot and served in lovely dishes. Excellent value. Highly recommend

Decided on trying the Mint Leaf Nepalese and Indian Restaurant after walking around Stirling today and are very glad we did. The food was outstanding, beer was cold and service top notch. Prices were some of the most reasonable we saw while reviewing the menus. If you want to save time and steps take my word and just head there. I’d be very surprised if you weren’t as happy with your decision as we were with ours.

Tried the restaurant twice and had a good experience overall. Better than other Indian/Pakistani restaurants in Stirling area. Biryani though did not look good but taste was good. Tandoori chicken was also great. Momo were excellent. Cheese naan was yummy. Edit: Went again, food was good! Pictures added. Recommended.

We have been visiting the Mint Leaf for many years! The food has always been excellent. As we eat early evening there is no real atmosphere however we have noticed a bit of a decline in service. When we first visited the service was really good and very friendly. Obviously over the years the staff change and our experience tonight could have been better. There was absolutely no ‘banter/ chat from the staff eg how are you? Have you had a good day? Just general chat. We were used to having that. Tonight the waitress did not engage whatsoever. On the contrary she appeared unhappy/ miserable. Neither did any of the other staff communicate with us. Such a shame. Food is great but unfortunately the staff do not live up to the expectations of those who preceded them. Find staff with a bit more personality!

Had a meal here for our friends 20th anniversary. Food was outstanding, service was exceptional, and the prices were very reasonable. Would highly recommended this place if you love Indian cuisine.

I have missed nepalese food and this place did not disappoint. The inside is very nice. The menu had a great variety of dishes. Good prices too. I had to ask for recommendations, because there was too much to choose from. The starter was momo. They were really tasty and the spicy dip was delicious. For main I had fish in some kind of curry sauce. It was really nice and rich of flavours. I wish they could add some vegetables to the dish, because it is too much with only sauce, rice and fish. Very nice place and friendly staff.

The Linden Inn Bar & Steakhouse offers a nostalgic experience reminiscent of old candy shops, with a warm and cozy atmosphere. The restaurant is known for its excellent service and high-quality food at reasonable prices. Customers rave about the perfectly cooked steaks, delicious side dishes, and friendly staff. The establishment also features lovely decor, outdoor space, and is both dog-friendly in the bar area and family-friendly overall. It's definitely worth a visit for a wonderful dining experience.
⭐ HIGHLY RECOMMEND ⭐ What a hidden gem, in the mood for a steak, I found this place via a Google search. I pre booked a table and rightly so as this quaint place is a busy one. Walking in we were greeted by a lovely front of house, promptly sat down even though we were a little early. The cosy cabin in the woods feels like the place adds that seasonal feels perfect for the festive time. A great selection of drinks with an in-house bar, and ample options on their menu even catering to children. We both had the soup of the day (lentil) and I myself had a sirloin steak medium and my partner had the chicken burger. Both cooked to absolute perfection, the steak was beautifully seasoned, every bite delicious. The peppercorn sauce I could have drank it was so delicious. I have eaten at some very high end restaurants and this by far is the best steak I've had. My partner voiced high praise for the chicken burger, hand made in house with their batter. The chef is impeccable at what they produce and I cannot praise them enough on their standard and attention to detail. We absolutely will be back and will be recommending to friends and family too. Thank you The Linden for such quality and class and again high praise to all staff especially the chef 🙏🏼.

Went here on recommendation from a friend & wasn't disappointed. Emailed prior to reserve a table & received a friendly reply. There is a smallish car park at the back & some space at the side & on the road. Friendly staff greeted us & despite the turnover of tables being busy, the staff were attentive at checking we were all ok. The menu has a good range of choices & our food was delicious. It was also a reasonable price. Will definitely go again when visiting Stirling

This was the best meal we’ve had in the UK. Don’t let the location in the industrial park for you. This is a great steakhouse. The steaks were prepared perfectly and were large portions. James, our server was terrific and gave us local information about other things that we’d be seeing. I highly recommend this restaurant.

I came here on a visit from the US because the reviews said they had good gluten free food. They were so right!!! The restaurant was very clean, the wait staff was excellent, and the food was so delicious! The best food I have had in Scotland! I had butterflied chicken breast with mashed potatoes, vegetables, and Diane sauce. It was an extraordinary experience.

We were recommended this restaurant by a work colleague and I can't say I'm disappointed, lovely relaxed atmosphere, laid back, efficient, friendly staff who delivered a quick and professional service. I can't fault anything. Next time I will try one of the cocktails. The decor is lovely and modern. Can't wait to come back for date night when it's just mum and dad! Plenty of parking, easily accessible, great food and great staff, all you could want when you are dining out.
Laura C — Google review
The food is just okay. The variety on the menu is good but this might mean some items are frozen and not homemade. I got the fish and chips and the fish was quite greasy (I had to blot some of the oil out)! They say some items are served with 'chips' and they also have 'fries' available but they're both the same thing which is a bit unfortunate. I think the steaks are worth trying as the beef medallions we got were quite good, although would be good to have the sauce on the side to allow people to have as much as they prefer!

It's a perfect spot to take a break and enjoy some delicious food and drinks while exploring the historic Old Town. The menu offers a variety of options including tapas, full breakfast, eggs, crepes, cakes, and French toasts. The cozy decor and homemade dishes create a welcoming atmosphere that feels like home.
Highly recommended! A perfect place to stop by. We went there for breakfast. Served very quickly by nice women. I ordered banana crape and oat coffee and didn’t regret. My fiancée ordered ham and cheese toast and was happy with his choice.

As we were walking down the street from our visit to the Sterling castle, I said that I would love vanilla ice cream with coffee on top, and this place appeared! Not only did they have vanilla ice cream coffee but in a huge glass! It was amazing, I recommend! We also had a warm scone but not with clotted cream unfortunately. But it was so good it made up for it. This cozy coffee house has cute decorations, comfy couches (which is rare nowadays in cafes!), and great food. Although you have to order at the counter, the kind staff makes up for it! Lastly, as we were done with our food, some great jazz music started playing, adding to the cozy ambiance. Go for a calm rest after a visit at the castle!

This may seem like a small museum for many, but I spent two hours here and could have doubled that time. There is so much history and so many artifacts that are worth viewing. The entry was free, but I recommend dropping a bit into the donation box. This museum is chock full of Scottish history, I loved that the casket (small silver box for letters) belonging to my ancestor, Mary, Queen of Scots, was on display during my visit. The dollhouse was also a big plus for me. The Scottish history, of course, is heartbreaking. The bravery of those who stepped up deserve to have their stories told. The cafe and gift shop are charming. The staff? Just pure Scottish sweetness! If you exit the museum and turn right, you will walk upon a beautiful view of Stirling castle. I definitely recommend visiting this museum. ❤️

Great little Museum with a temporary Mary Queen of Scots Exhibit in 2025. Cafe has great cakes but if you know the difference between a latte and milky coffee best order tea. When I took my latte back explaining it had been overheated, they offered me cold milk 😉

I live in Stirling, and I have walked past the gallery hundreds of times, going back and forth to the golf club. Thankfully, I decided to go inside to view the history of not just Stirling but also various parts of Scotland. It was well worth the visit not just for the historical side of it but also the art work, and the tiger dressed up in "Tunnocks" tea cake rappings. They also have a lecture room that could be worth exploring, the cafe is also worth a visit.

Art work displayed nicely. An interesting temp exhibit on Sudan. Cafe looked enticing though didn't try it. The rest of the museum is focused on "The Stirling Story". Could probably do with a bit of a revamp and prune, felt a bit chaotic and dusty.

Most abhoront owner who cares more about the money he makes over his staff wellbeing. This individual refuses to provide payslips and when they are requested he has the audacity to ask "what do you want them for?" It is a legal requirements that all staff are provided with payslips! And the most disrespectful of them all is he refers to staff as his "minions" which speaks volumes about how he values his staff! Despite having raised concerns about the heavy coffee tubs at the bottom of the store left in the middle of the floor, he ignored these concerns and I would often have to try and push them by myself under the work area to prevent customers from tripping. A customer seen me struggle to do this and kindly offered their help and could not believe the weight of the tubs. Very clearly a health and safety issue being blatantly ignored! In the extreme winter I found myself wearing my scarf and gloves in store as said owner refused to provide heaters. It wasn't until a customer commented about how unpleasant it was to consume her coffee in such temperatures that the owner finally listened and brought the heaters out!! One of the most despicable of all is when the owner decided to punish a staff member for taking one day off sick by taking their entire months worth of shifts off them and leaving them without an income! Jebthen turned to another staff member after doing this saying "that will teach them". It is hard enough living in this current climate without worrying about where your next pay check is going to come from! Doesn't bother this owner, however, as long as he is making money, nobody else matters to him! I wouldn't treat an animal this way, never mind a fellow human being! Disgusting behaviour! As someone who has a nut allergy, I would often raise concerns to the owner when he placed nut products in the same dome as non nut products!!! I would end up removing said cakes and washing the domes and re-organising them again. Despite raising this issue several times, when the owner was in store, he would continue to have said products placed together!!! Yet again, just another example of his lack of care for others!! This should be common sense and safe food practice to keep these products completely seperate from touching??? Staff are expected to clean floors with filthy mop heads that haven't been washed for months! This has been raised multiple times with said owner and he refused to wash them nor even provide fresh new ones. The owner also expects staff to work past their contracted hours without any extra pay. This happened several times before I clocked on to what was happening. He would also regularly change your contracted hours without any form of communication. Staff are not allowed to speak up and advocate for themselves and customers as they pay with their jobs!!! PLEASE. There are far nicer coffee shops in Stirling more deserving of your money than this greedy, self centred owner. Until this person changes their ways, he does NOT deserve a single bit of custom. DO. NOT. RECCOMEND!

A cosy and friendly coffee place to have a drink, a chat, or read a book. I had a latte and it tasted rather mild. The bakery items are average compared to many other small cafes around the area - typical fares one find at Starbucks than in a local Scottish cafe, and my fruit slice is too sweet.

Trela M — Google review
I’ve been to this café several times and it’s always been pleasant enough, which is why this visit really surprised me. We paid £36 for a small curry, a sandwich, chips, and two coffees — and I left genuinely hungry. The curry came in a shallow ramekin with clumped rice and barely any meat (one piece was just fat). I asked for gluten-free and was given toast instead of pitta — not exactly ideal with curry! When I politely mentioned how much curry was in the ramekin, I could see the white under the curry I got a shrug and “well, you ate it.” What really stood out was the complete lack of goodwill — no effort to make things right. Most places at least try. And for context? I live in Mayfair, where café prices are not this steep — but at least the service matched the cost. Out here, that balance is completely off. The coffee was good so a star for that, the sandwich not bad, but crisps (not salad and chips for example). You have to buy these separate.

Best breakfast in Scotland and I have been here for three weeks. Everything was fresh and the flat white coffee was delicious. I had the yogurt fresh fruit granola chia and honey parfait and people sitting next to me were excited about their breakfast that had some yummy looking avacodo with salmon possibly? The reviews are spot on for this place, don’t hesitate to stop. I think they do lunch too. It was all locals in there, so you know it is good. I had a view of the William Wallace Memorial Tower too.

Very impressed this morning when we visited for breakfast. Lovely view of the Ochill mountains. Not that far from the Wallace Monument. From the outside I was impressed by the wooden carving of a wolf and eagles. It was fantastic. We went to the coffee bothy for breakfast. Food was fantastic and reasonably priced. I had a milkshake and felt like a kid drinking it out of a glass milk bottle. Its little things like that that make a place stand out and be remembered!! The farm shop itself was lovely. There are some fantastic pictures for sale and local meat. The staff were friendly. It was very clean and smelled fresh. I would definitely go back there again. Even loved the cow on top of the roof!!

As you arrive at Blairmains farmhouse you are guided firstly into the furniture shop of the store with tables and chairs that I could only ever dream of owning. The whole place is very well presented and perhaps due to the low roofs when ypu arrive in the cafe it can appear to be rather loud. We were seated quickly but having been here once before it does.get very busy. To avoid disappointment I would reccomend booking a table. My friend and I opted for a breakfast each. I had a the full scottish and he had the Vegan breakfast. There were no complaint about the Vegan breakfast and the scottish breakfast was delicious but I just wasn't a fan of the Bacon. 2 meals and 4 drinks came to roughly £35. A wee bit pricey but definitely value for money. They have a fantastic map in the shop showing you where all the produce they have in the shop and cafe has come from. Well worth a look. On leaving you can make more purchases in the shop which has lots worth taking a look through.

I just a lovely experience at Cisco's :) I really fancied a sour dough sandwich and after asking in several cafe's in town, with no luck, I thought I'd see if Cisco's was still open. (I'm never usually in town early enough to catch them!) Anyway, joined the queue and they were super busy, I nearly didn't ask because I thought it might be too much trouble, but the person who served me confirmed they could do a sourdough no problem, suggested a BLT with avocado, which was absolutely delicious (great quality bacon and plenty of filling generally). Such a great place, lovely friendly atmosphere - you can tell why they have been in business so long. It's the wee things that make a difference, tysm!

Good coffee, bad sandwich. Came here for morning coffee and breakfast. The place was surprisingly busy for 7am. It's a rather small venue, with bar stools instead of tables. We managed to get 2 of the 4 seats facing out the window so at least we got a more interesting view than the wall. Coffee was nice, good flavour, crema, all the rest of it. Roasted vegetable and chorizo toasted panini were quite disappointing. There weren't enough fillings and no dressing which overall left the sandwich dry and tasteless. At least it was warm. Wife had the tea and croissant. Tea is tea, pretty hard to get that wrong... The croissant was freshly baked I think, or at least freshly warmed up. It came with a side order of jam, but overall nothing to write home about. Staff were really nice and brought our orders to our seat with a smile.

Love the food and servers. They not only work their tails off, but they also know their customers AND what they’ve ordered previously- including after I’d only been there a few times. Very personable with their customers in quality and quantity of attention. Love going here!

I came here with my family for breakfast. There was a large group of us walk in unannounced and everything was excellent. The food came out very quickly and everything was delicious. My family loved the omelette and we would highly recommend. A massive thank you to all the staff.

Restaurant
The Scholar's Restaurant offers a menu with traditional British dishes, including fish and chips. The restaurant is located in the city center and has a lovely atmosphere.
Good scotch selection and nice comfy seating areas.

Scholar's? Dunces more like! A V O I D ! ! ! Got as far as the first course being delivered to the (sticky) table. Focaccia crisp breads? Mother's Pride. Asked if they'd run out and after five minutes of debate in the kitchen, two squares of "fresh out of the oven" focaccia arrived. Still frozen in the middle. The chicken liver and smoked duck parfait curiously had three thin strips of chicken laid across the top like three albino slugs sacrificed on a shiny altar of mediocrity. Exit stage right to find food fit for human consumption. Frankly, the place must still be aspiring to the standards of the Wetherspoons down the road, but so far has only achieved the All Tables And The Bar Must Be Sticky standard - the bar surface was stickier than a reel of duck tape dipped in bostick. I feared for tearing a sleeve off my shirt after leaning on the bar. It was a Sunday night and maybe the B Team was on, but that's no excuse for paying customers where the price is the same every night. I had also taken the hotel's prepaid offer too - BIG mistake. Currently writing this from a nice Italian restaurant at the bottom of the hill. Stirling seems to have quite a few reasonable restaurants within 5 minutes walk of the hotel. I strongly recommend the walk to find something better.
Jim C — Google review
Staff are friendly and easy to interact with but the food was disappointing. Burger bun was not a brioche, rather a cheap white bun. Cheese slices were bendy plastic. Ceaser salad was good but small for the price. Not good value for money.

A wonderful Valentine's Day dinner.....every course was delicious. Well done! The restaurant needs a few bright accessories to lighten the monochrome colour scheme

Jeez... thought we'd treat ourselves to a meal here as we were staying in the hotel..wish we hadn't...very very slow service, overpriced food, pork crackling that resembles more of a inedible dog chew...over cooked steak after asking for it to me medium/rare. Would not recommend..wish we'd looked around for somewhere else but after a long day travelling we just wanted food...big mistake!

South Indian restaurant
Rishi's Indian Aroma in Stirling, Scotland offers a diverse range of traditional South and North Indian, Indo-Chinese, and Mughalai dishes. The restaurant is relatively new but has already gained a reputation for its attentive staff and excellent service. Customers have praised the fresh and flavorful Tandoori chicken starter as well as the exceptional Meat Thali with its well-balanced flavors.
Try the Thali! If you want to sample many different Indian dishes, it provides bread, rice, and numerous delicious smaller portions. I recommend one order of Thali per person. There is a veg and a meat option. Excellent customer service. The manager was present today and provided courteous and consistent service. The restaurant was a relaxing refuge from the busy street. REALLY liked that the music was not too loud. Overall an excellent experience and would recommend to anyone!

Great food! Wonderful service. There were 12 of us and they were very accommodating at the very last minute. We even had 5 children with us and they were happy from start to finish. No screens needed! Happy kids happy parents!! The food was fabulous. So many options and everything so yummy! The kids got some very sweet little birds with ice cream in them to take home.

Our second time eating here. Always love it! Amazing, friendly staff and fair priced lunch! Incredible food. Will definitely be back!!

A desire to travel, an exploration through an assortment of dishes. We tasted every dish of the vegetarian and non-vegetarian thali! A real delight! Copious. Not forgetting the smiles of the staff and the quality of the service. And as we French say, we left the restaurant with our stomachs taut.

I tried the Onam festival special meal “Onam Sadhya” for the very first time and it was such a delightful experience! The meal was beautifully prepared with so many different dishes, each full of unique flavours and the staff were incredibly kind and friendly. Beyond just the food, it felt like such a special cultural experience, and I truly enjoyed it.
Shubhangi — Google review
Food was tasty and fresh but the portion was tiiny. I had a mixed grill for 2 people which was £20 and seemed like a big dish as the most expensive item from the grill but it only had one chicken leg, one prawn, one kebab cut in half and some pieces of chicken. This should he sold as a starter and priced accordingly. I now have to find more food! Also I ordered for 6pm, got an email at 5.45 that it was ready. Went to get it but told it wasn't ready even though the email said it was! Food was delicious though so it's a shame they didn't just add an extra prawn and chicken leg!
Mirra R — Google review
I would give more than 5 stars if I could. All the food we tried was super delicious and very good quality. Service was great. We had railway curry, two chicken curries and mixed tandoori. All was amazing. And fried rice with vegetables was the best I ever had.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Stirling!! Rishi’s offers authentic Indian food at a reasonable price! It is about the same price as the other restaurants in the area. I tried a Sri Lankan chicken curry and a paneer spinach curry with coconut rice and garlic naan, and they were all AMAZING! They were by far the best curries I’ve ever had. The staff is very friendly and quick. It was an absolutely amazing experience!! I will definitely be coming back with all my friends!!

Nestled in the heart of the city, Nooch Bar and Kitchen is a delightful vegan cafe, bar, and restaurant that opened its doors in December 2022. Operating from Wednesday to Sunday starting at 11:30 am, this vibrant spot offers a classic cafe experience with sandwiches, cakes, and coffee while also showcasing innovative vegan dishes like Korean fried mushroom burgers paired with kimchi.
Amazing! I recently visited and having been vegan for over a year now, I was shocked when I realised I’ve never been to a fully vegan restaurant! This was more than I expected! It’s so refreshing to be able to have anything on the menu, and what a lot of choice! I had the daal with tatties and it was beautiful! Then I had a slice of the chocolate cake for dessert which was again so delicious! The atmosphere was lovely and perfect for me as someone who gets easily sensory overwhelmed. I will be coming back again. Thank you for making this an experience I will remember!
Marley B — Google review
If I could give 6 stars I would! From booking over the phone to leaving we could not fault the restaurant. The menu is small but we liked that as it means they can perfect it & we can try most of it! We had olives & nuts plus We shared the haggis main as a starter & it was enough for three of us to try it & it was tasty! With the pepper sauce poured over the top it gave it that edge. For mains we had the beet burger, Mac n cheese & the gyros. I prefer gluten free but they didn’t have the pitta so I asked for it in the bun. All three were very good, right portion size & tasty. When we went to order desert the waitress remembered I was gluten free & she’d already checked that they had a GF cheesecake… that was very impressive that she’d remembered & checked. The cheesecake was the best vegan one we’d had & the vanilla ice cream tasted of honey & vanilla which was really creamy. We had a lot of food, a few no alcohol drinks, deserts & the bill was under £100 which we thought was very good value for three people & the amount of food we’d had. The staff were very attentive & professional. If you’re vegan or not I highly recommend this restaurant…

+Great vibe and atmosphere. +Friendly and professional service👍 +Vegan restaurant 🥳 +Clean toilets. +Comfortably lit setting. +Cool artwork on the walls. -99% of the menu contains rapeseed oil. -I thought portions were small and prices were big (the person I was dining with was happy with the size and price). -Music volume was a little loud at times (we were near the speaker); good music though.
Michael B — Google review
Five Star review as that’s all we can give… simply amazing and well worth the hour drive over from Aberfoyle! Beth (Front of House) made sure that we had a super experience and was great with recommendations and dealing with food preferences. We enjoyed some Gordal olives and house roasted nuts while we waited for our starter/ sharer of haggis Bon Bon’s… we had three different mains - the Gyros, the Beet Burger, and the Nooch Mac and all were sublime! To finish, we opted for the Strawberry Cheesecake and were not disappointed. An absolute sterling find in Stirling - we will be back and highly recommend to anyone looking for good food in and around Stirling!

Vegan done right. Every dish had full flavor, the staff was knowledgeable, and the decor was relaxing. Went on a date and it was quiet enough to hold easy conversation, recommended food hit just right, and we ended up topping it off with one of the best vegan cheese cakes we’ve tasted. Definitely recommend to all, including those who don’t typically lean toward vegan foods.

We dined at Nooch and were thoroughly impressed by the excellent food and service. My wife enjoyed the Gyros, while I opted for the Buffalo Tofu Burger special, and shared a side of tenderstem broccoli. The portion sizes were ideal—not overly large or too small—which meant I had room for a delicious dessert. We highly recommend this restaurant.

Only visited on a couple of occasions but each time I have had a pleasant experience. Food and drink is great - highly recommend the tiramisu and chai lattes. The additional seating area upstairs is a very nice quiet place to hang out.

My go-to spot whenever I’m feeling down and it’s hands down my favorite place for coffee in the area. The ambiance is always welcoming and cozy, and the staff is incredibly friendly, making every visit a pleasure. It’s the perfect place to unwind with a great cup of coffee.

I had the Chicken pesto something but it was really good. The crust was so crispy and it just melted in my mouth, absolutely loved it! I also had the chocolate caramel on dessert and it was nice. I had the hot chocolate with whipped cream in beverages and it was good. The staff is very helpful and nice. I just love the service! The atmosphere is nice, it was pretty crowded so I guess this place must be really good.

Best coffee shop in Stirling by a mile. Coffee is excellent and the staff always happy and friendly. We visit at least three times a week. Love this Caffe Nero.
Tom C — Google review
On Sunday, May 11, my husband and I decided to relax and have a delicious coffee at Caffe Nero in Stirling. However, it turned into an unpleasant experience. When we scanned our voucher, the waitress rudely told us that it wasn't working, and she showed no sign of attitude or empathy for the customer! We had placed our order to sit inside the cafe, but she arranged for takeaway. She was very disrespectful and spoke to my husband, telling him that he should have told her earlier! Letting her know that we were having coffee there. The rude waitress who served us was on the afternoon shift, around 5:30 p.m. She's thin and blonde, and that was the limit for us to leave. Something I noticed she does is place a chair halfway up the stairs leading to the next floor, where there are more tables, preventing people from choosing to sit there. Why does she do this? And what right does she have? Disrespectful. The tables remain dirty on the main floor for long periods of time. The bathrooms are poorly cleaned.

I am in Caffe Nero in Stirling every week, and I don't think I could pass without going in. The staff are always friendly and welcoming, and once they get to know your face are almost like friends, but they are always professional. Natti and Abby the managers are such a lovely people and seems to have installed her attitude into the other staff really well by encouraging warm, welcoming, friendly and pleasing approach to every customer. They are obviously very good at selecting staff that with the right approach. I have mobility issues as does my mother in-law, whom I bring to the store. The staff always try and make sure the store is accessible for us and will always offer to bring our order to the table. I really appreciate the extra effort they put in to accommodate us. And from what i have observed, this store is extremely welcoming to all people with disabilities. On the coffee front, I have tried all coffee in the Stirling area and can honestly say that the Nero coffee is smooth rich and the cappuccinos always have a very firm crema on-top.

HBW Coffee is a popular spot in Stirling, located on Barnton Street. Despite the confusing Opticians sign above the shop, this cafe offers a delightful menu featuring sweet and savory options such as pancakes, French toast, avocado sourdough toast, breakfast rolls, and sweet breakfast bowls. The entire menu is vegan by default, providing ample choices for vegetarians and vegans. The lively atmosphere makes it an ideal place to enjoy breakfast, brunch or lunch with friends or family.
Came here for an unplanned lunch and it was so so good - really generous portions, tasty food and coffee, and really lovely service and atmosphere! Would heartily recommend the breakfast burrito, it was massive and sooo good. Almost everything on the menu you can have made vegan, which is so great! The cakes also are delicious and almost majority vegan. Would 100% recommend!

What an absolute cracker of a place to have a coffee or hot chocolate and an almond croissant! Visiting from Australia and heard there was some good coffee here. So glad we found this place for a delicious breakfast. They have loads of great options including vegan and vegetarian. The coffee was fantastic and service was good too. The environment is cozy and modern with wooden tables and chairs, and is dog friendly, what else? I really enjoyed it. First photo: strawberry jam doughnut Second phot: vegan bun with seitan and vegan tofu scrambled and vegan cream cheese. Third photo: latte & biscoff doughnut. Fourth photo: flat white & cinnamon bun I went back 22st may 2022 ant it is still delicious! 11/06/2025 I visited Stirling last week and I went again for a coffee break. No donuts this this time, but they had cinnamon rolls !! Really worthy.

Cute little place on King Street. Tons of cafes up and down the street but this one caught our eye since it looked better kept than others. Quiet and laidback atmosphere but the service is prompt and courteous. The eggs on sourdough is what appealed to us. The coffee is also excellent. We sat by the front window facing the street and people watched as well. Lots of happy pups and kids on King street this time of the year.

Was looking to try a new cafe while I study so came in here. Not a great study spot as there’s not many outlets and it’s very loud. But this is not their fault, after all it is a cafe, not a library (just adding for anyone looking to do work!) I came in first thing after opening and was a little surprised to see crumbs on tables and chairs, the floor wasn’t spotless either. The table I was sat at also had a hair on it. But in terms of food, so good! A little pricey in my opinion but the taste is definitely there! They have flour at the back which looks aesthetic but I wouldn’t doubt everything is homemade- def tastes like it! I got the eggs on toast which was sooo good. Came with 3 eggs so that was nice! And the sourdough was delicious. Also tried their honey brown sugar iced latte. I thought it would be too sweet and hard to drink but wanted something festive. It was actually amazing. Would def recommend. I would come back!

Great first visit to Vera on a Saturday afternoon. It was packed, but I was able to get seated immediately. Lots of servers, so wasn't waiting long. I was served by Megan who was very cheery, helpful, and patient, even though I was being painfully indecisive. Potato and leek soup was very hearty and nice, and the bakewell slice was lovely (and large!). Came alone today, but would gladly visit again with friends/family.

Nestled away in a charming alley on Port Street, The Pend Cafe & Bistro is a delightful spot that embodies the essence of a traditional Scottish bistro. Having been a beloved establishment in Stirling for years, The Pend has recently introduced an evening menu available Thursday through Saturday under new ownership.
What an amazing find this place was! We stumbled upon it after exploring down a beautiful arched alleyway. We stopped for lunch and it was super lovely, we both has a ciabatta with some sweet potato fries. The guy was so helpful and advised that one of the choices was a bit dry and offered some alternative fillings to help. The atmosphere was perfect, homely with some nice background music. Service was fantastic, the fries which we thought were lovely, they claimed they had overcooked, so took the charge off ~ so so kind, we had not asked, nor complained. Recommend to anyone for a quick, tasty lunch :)

Aspie Review: The atmosphere is a bit loud closer to the coffee machine so I recommend sitting closer to the door. The bathroom is accessible, and clean. Menu was easy to read and all signs were clearly visible.

A busy Saturday lunchtime, great service, we were told that there was a small delay in food service, but didn't wait too long, the staff were very helpful and attentive. Food was excellent, hearty and well presented. A lovely little bistro.
