Haute French restaurant
French restaurant
Located in the heart of Rouen's dining scene, Gill is a prestigious restaurant known for its sophisticated French cuisine with influences from Normandy. For 36 years, it held two Michelin stars until chef Gilles Tournadre decided to part ways with the rating system in 2020. Despite this, Tournadre continues to uphold his culinary excellence by showcasing the finest ingredients from Norman landscapes and waters, such as oysters, crab, scallops, lobster, and various fish varieties.
Simply unbeatable. Of all restaurants in the world I’ve come across, many were good but none beat Gill. The food, atmosphere and professionalism are second to none. They are incredibly consistent and it is an absolute highlight to dine here time and time again.

We found the restaurant by chance and it turned out to be an amazing surprise! The food was delicious and the service was fantastic
Tt S — Google review
Former Michelin restaurant with decent food, great atmosphere and excellent service. Had the tartar and was impressed. The ceviche was delicious but the steak was overdone and tiny for the price. I was disappointed with my meal but a decent experience.
Glenn B — Google review
One of the best experience we've EVER had, France UK Spain included. An absolute treat from beginning to end, we had the 5 course meal, we were given the option to be told what each course were going to be before but we happily opted out to allow for discovery and excitement. It did not disappoint Expertly served by a savy, knowledgeable and experienced staff. Exciting beyond delicious dishes, awesomely put together products, beautifully presented we were swooned from beginning to end. This is art without being pretentious. Satisfying and pleasing on another level. Please go, not too expensive either. A special mention to the super talented head chef who came out to say hello and chat with us as we were leaving. Really really fantastic.
Patrick — Google review
Excellent. We had two of the smaller prix fixe options (it was lunch, after all) with no regrets. Both were excellent.
David U — Google review
Amazing experience. Did the four course tasting menu which put me a food coma for the rest of the day.
Sasha B — Google review
This meal was a memorable one. We had a fantastic experience with the gustation menu. Every plate was well thought out and offered excellent flavor. Service was excellent. This was our last night in France and a memorable one at that. Merci beaucoup.
Alan H — Google review
Impeccable service, very clean establishment, everything from the decor to the cutlery is clearly meticulously chosen. The day we went there was a Hummus "amuse bouche" which was one of the best I've ever had, definitely the best hummus I've had in France. The choices of wine are great. The drinks they offer as aperitif are incredible (I recommend the rum). The restaurant is pricey, but well worth it. All in all, the best restaurant I've been to. It was so good that I actually decided on writing a review.

Event venue
Located in the heart of Rouen, La Couronne is a historic restaurant housed in a 1300s half-timbered building with vintage decor. As one of the oldest inns in France, it has witnessed centuries of history and hosted notable figures like Jeanne d'Arc and Pierre Corneille. The seasonal menus curated by chef Vincent Taillefer offer a range of French classics and delightful Norman specialties.
We had a wonderful dinner at La Couronne. I can see now why Julia Child was impressed with her first restaurant meal in France at this establishment. Even though there is a different chef in the kitchen, the food is still very delicious. The service was quite slow because we waited almost an hour for our appetizers to arrive. But after the appetizers everything was very smooth. This is definitely a place I would recommend for lunch or dinner.
Slava K — Google review
I’ll start by saying the food is excellent, no denying that. Was it worth the wait though? I don’t think so. Absolutely do not recommend if you want to do anything else that evening! We had only the one day in Rouen, and had wanted to explore more of the city that evening, but that opportunity was taken from us. My wife & I both ordered 4 course set menus, and it was no less than 40 minutes between courses. It was an hour and 5 minutes between our starters and mains! The waiter was polite and helpful when he was there, but that was rare. Our drinks were empty the majority of the time, and no one asked if we wanted more or offered to bring the wine list back. No explanation or even recognition that things were taking longer than they should. We had a 7PM reservation, and at 10PM when I finally asked when our dessert was coming (so we could finally pay & leave) we were told there’s a lot of people, so it’s slow. It’s all reservation-only, they knew well in advance how full it was going to be and could have planned accordingly. We didn’t get out of there until 10:40, and that’s only because I rushed them to bring the check once dessert did come out. When we did leave, there was a table that had been seated before us that was STILL waiting for their deserts. I felt so bad for them.
Zachary R — Google review
We can feel the heritage of the restaurant. We also ordered the special squeezed duck that is cooked in its own blood and bone marrow with red wine and Cognac. Its a unique experience. I love the duck entree and the second main course more than the first. My wife also ordered the oysters.
Adrian S — Google review
Clearly this dinner would always be one of the best of my life. A true French culinary delight . If you want to be seated in the first floor dining room,I strongly suggest to make a reservation. And I strongly suggest to dine in that room. It has a special feeling to it. Most Americans inquire about Julia Child menu, and although not on the menu officially, you can have it. And if you did your homework and made a reservation Julia herself will dine with you, watching from across the room. Every dish was outstanding. The appetizer, the fish, the dessert. The service impressive . I highly recommend to order some Calvados before desert. The way it presented to you is not to be missed. The bottom line - do not miss this restaurant! We'll worth money.
Elllen K — Google review
La Couronne was just beautiful. Cozy, warm, eclectic interior. Many photos of famous people who have experienced this restaurant. We were able to eat upstairs in a room facing the courtyard. It was warm. Hans who was our primary server was gruff and apparently displeased that our reservation was for 2:00pm as the kitchen closes at 2:30. He would circle our table when he felt our course was over. I must say we slowed our eating to a snails pace just to torment Hans. Thus the 4⭐️. Rating for service. Hans should find employment more suitible for his temperament, perhaps an undertaker. Jarode assisted and was charming. Wonderful smile and attitude. All that said, the food was perfection. Appetizer prosciutto salad, main course rib eye and sea bass was mouth watering. The dessert, sliced apples finished the meal perfectly. All in all it was an exceptional meal.
Robert J — Google review
I would not recommend this place at all. You're much better off spending your money elsewhere. We went there for an evening meal, and what a disappointment it was. Spent over £250 for three people, and it turned out to be one of the worst dining experiences we've had. The fish was overcooked, and the starter was just about passable. My lemon cake dessert was a disaster the cake was bone dry, like it had been left out for days, and there was barely any cream. The soufflé was average at best. The cheese course had a decent selection, but the staff were completely uninterested, they only gave the names of the cheeses and offered no explanation or engagement. The atmosphere didn’t help either. The interior is cluttered with old, tacky photos of celebrities from decades ago, which just adds to the dated and dreary vibe.
Kashif N — Google review
Amazing! A true unique experience that combines high quality food, service, environment and create a full experience that is spotless. Remarkable. I have read about this place before and had high expectations, but they were not only met, but exceeded. Starting with the service - I have booked in advance and my table was ready for me when I arrived, in the main room. I would recommend booking in advance for peace of mind. We had 2 different menus, one was the Julia Child one (not on the official menu but you can just ask them). The other one was a beef menu. Both were just mind blowing. My husband was enchanted by the oysters - absolutely fresh and delicious. I had a Parmesan pana cota with cured meat and it was so good. As main we had the fish and the beef. They were cooked to perfection, but in both cases the cherry on top was the sauce. Both sauces were really delicious. After the main we got a plate of cheese as part of the Julia Child menu and we were delighted- local cheese with an impressive quality, it was incredible. On the beef menu it was a small plate of lettuce salad - the dressing again was just perfect. The only thing I would not repeat was the desert. We had the sufle and it was not my favourite- I would try something different next time. The ambience is a bit magical and is truly unique to have a meal in such a historical place. We were there for 3 full hours, but the time was flying and the whole experience was amazing. We will remember this dinner for sure. It is worthy every penny. Can’t recommend enough- would give 10 stars if I could!
DANIELA S — Google review
Food was good, but the service was extremely poor, and the staff’s attitude was unacceptable. We were rushed to order in strict sequence, yet the waiter couldn’t remember who ordered what. He refused to take our wine order until his process was done – then forgot it. We had proper cutlery for the first course and main, but not for the second main – we were told to use dessert cutlery. No cutlery was provided for the cheese course, and no one followed up. Good food, but ruined by disorganised service and rude attitude.

Haute French restaurant
Fine dining restaurant
Nestled within a 16th-century Gothic mansion in the cathedral district of Rouen, L'ODAS is a stylish and intimate restaurant that offers modern French cuisine with global influences. Helmed by Chef Olivier Da Silva, this Michelin-starred establishment presents artfully plated tasting menus featuring dishes like foie gras with whelks, pigeon with pureed peas, and exotic fruit desserts. The restaurant's open kitchen allows guests to observe the culinary mastery while enjoying the warm and relaxing atmosphere.
We had a lovely meal here. After introducing ourselves, we were taken up to a sixth floor dining area with great views across the city and Tomas looked after us very well. There is a selection of tasting menus available, as well as some bonus courses. Several wine pairing offerings also available.
Dudley N — Google review
Only 2 out of the 7 courses we ate were actually ‘Michelin worthy’. The rest of the food is average at best. A bit overpriced for the taste and experience.

From the moment we arrived, we were enveloped in an atmosphere that was both elegant and welcoming. The service was impeccable — attentive without being intrusive, and delivered with genuine warmth that made us feel truly special. We chose the 5-course menu with paired wines, and it was an absolute triumph from start to finish. Each dish was a work of art — each dish was a masterpiece. Beautifully presented, with flavours that were perfectly balanced and thoughtfully composed. The wine pairings elevated the experience even further, each glass thoughtfully selected to complement and enhance the flavours on the plate. The setting itself added to the magic of the evening — refined, intimate, and with a touch of understated luxury. If you’re looking for a dining experience that combines artistry on the plate with flawless service and a wonderful atmosphere, L’ODAS is not to be missed.
Silvia M — Google review
The lunch we had was simply brilliant in every way and is a grand testament to all the team members how well it flows. The culinary vision is at the highest level and it is magical in its execution. What also stands out is how the culinary vision carries over to the management vision and how the team executes together. There are so many magnificent elements of the meal that just keep exceeding the last dish and the bread and butter could easily be considered its own course. No question that this spot is easily a Michelin 1 star!
Jolly B — Google review
Such a pleasurable dining experience. Imaginative and satisfying with delicate ingredients. I will treasure this experience for many years and look forward to going back.

Excellent food and service! Unique tastes that I wish I could taste again
Yael W — Google review
One of the best meals I have ever eaten. The food was spectacular, strong but perfectly balanced flavours, from amazing amuse bouches, through a delicious large ravioli with a perfect yolk inside to a perfectly cooked piece of monkfish with beans, chorizo and a delicately curried sauce, and a delicious raspberry dessert. Everything came as a surprise — you simply choose the number of courses. This was the first time I have experienced this but I really liked it — it added to the anticipation and you ate things that you might not have ordered a la carte… service was great. We ate on the terrace on a very hot day and the parasol didn’t quite shade the table — hence 4/5 on ambience. But it was wonderful and I hope to return!
Dom L — Google review
One excellent female server. Balance of service team was weak. €190 champagne & male server suggested spending twice as much. Bottle not kept at the table & glasses not regularly filled. Surprise menu—lots of “wow” dishes building to so-so main course was disappointing. Male server requested a tip “for the team”. NEVER in 35 years of Michelin rated restaurants have I been solicited for a tip. Service compris.

Seafood restaurant

Mediterranean restaurant
Nestled in a cozy setting, La Pêcherie is a seafood lover's paradise that specializes in an array of delectable fish and seafood dishes served for lunch and dinner from Tuesday to Saturday. The menu, though limited, showcases the freshest seasonal ingredients with vibrant flavors. Diners can indulge in various oysters and exquisite options like European seabass paired with shell juice and ginger. A highlight is the impressive seafood platter that leaves guests pleasantly surprised by its generous portions.
This was both the best restaurant and meal my wife and I have had in 5+ years together. Most memorable and special meal I can remember. Their octopus is a French octopus that is unique to the area and had the best texture we’ve ever tried, the cod (a rather simple fish) was ridiculously well made and featured 6 different sauces and flavors to blend with, the seafood sampler plate was so built-out and fresh that it set a standard that probably won’t be beat… impressive wine selection as well. All is fair priced. Service was genuine and warm - the staff were polite, patient, helpful, and passionate about what they do. 6⭐️/5.

Amazing seafood dishes! Loved the white wine We will definitely go back to this restaurant.

Excellent meal, beautiful atmosphere and perfect service! Boris, our server, patiently explained the menu to us. We had the 3 course meal with a bottle of Sancerre. Our table had a great view of the river. I would highly recommend La Pêcherie!
Cheryl A — Google review
A creative menu with amazing recipes. The sea bass with passion fruit and coconut and monkfish with hazelnut took these fishes to a new level. The staff took time to chat with us about oysters. While a bit more expensive, it was worth treating ourselves to an outstanding meal.
Carl L — Google review
This restaurant was recommended by the B&B where we were staying, telling us it was the best place for fish lovers. And that turned out to be nothing less than the truth! Stephane, the owner, and his team were very friendly and spoke English pretty well. The food was excellent, fresh ingredients and well prepared. Especially the deserts were work of arts and very tasty. It is a fish restaurant as the name suggests, so the choice of meat is limited to entrecote. Although they specialize in fish, the beef was also very well prepared. Also the great wine list should be mentioned. All in all we enjoyed the lovely atmosphere and the great service. Prices are higher than we are used to in France, but it is value for money. If you love fish, you will definitely love this place.
Andre S — Google review
I love this place but the best thing is staff and their nice behaviour 🫶 all the dishes was so so so delicious. Atmosphere was perfect. It is exactly %100 a French restaurant 💕. I wish I knew French language to talk to Olivier. Stephanie is also really nice. As a summary “tout était délicieux :)”

We had a great night here, the food and wine were excellent. Great fish selection. They also allowed us to bring our dog. The owner was very very friendly and welcoming. Thank you!!!
Daniel B — Google review
Friendly welcoming atmosphere, waiters speak english. Service was impeccable under the supervision of the patron. Attentive, unobtrusive and professional. The patron was most accomodating, and offered us the opportunity to wait inside before they were opened at 8pm, We were entertained with 2 sets of amuse bouche, the first was a trio shot of crab, acocado and salmon mouse, with crunchy crutons, with a miniture seafood croque monsieur. The second was a small delis of macheral fillet with marinated crudités. Super! For the main, The best of typical Normandy seafood! Perfect, huge portion for seafood platter, and probably would defeat even the hungriest traveller. The fillet of the fillet of beef was amazing, served with truffle mashed potatoes, pomme dauphine, and mushroom sauce was delicious. Stuffed cabbage leaves with scrumptious fois gras for starter. A marriage made in heaven! And for dessert the first of the season on a biscuit base was healthy, tasty, light and refreshing, served with a freshly made web of caramelised sugar, white chocolate shards and small rosette of chantilly cream!!! Yummy. Completed by 2 glasses of Cote de Rhone and a bottle of sparkling water. What more could you ask for! Definitely worth a visit if you are in Rouen. Off the tourist track, it was full of locals on the night we visited. Best to make a reservation as its a busy restaurant!!!

Tandem is a perfect alliance of two people who have been working together for many years. Fabien is in charge of cooking, Victoria welcomes guests in the restaurant. After traveling to many places, Tandem offers a cuisine with great flavors and satisfying tastes in a warm and friendly environment. The dishes are well-presented, not too sophisticated and simply delicious, as well as the service which is very welcoming and willing to give advice.
You need to book. Not less than nine potential clients were turned away tonight. This restaurant is exceptional. Very fair prices for high quality, beautifully presented food demonstrating exceptional care and a detailed ingredient knowledge from the chef. Small menu, but ideal for this situation to ensure that every dish is perfect. A single chef and waitress manage the restaurant which caters for about 28 diners at most. An intimate and genuinely delightful opportunity to experience fine French cuisine in a cobbled street with ancient buildings and just 50m from the cathedral in Rouen. I would suggest that this restaurant should not be missed.

Wonderful dinner in a very comfortable setting! It's lovely to be in a restaurant where the tables aren't packed together! Our hostess/server greeted us warmly and spoke very good English. Our 3 course meal with an excellent bottle of wine was 150€. The food was very nicely presented and delicious; we would gladly return!

Excellent meal, service and atmosphere. Highly recommend. I’d recommend getting a reservation a day or two in advance since it’s a small restaurant, only one server and chef when I was there. That only added to the atmosphere.

Had a wonderful dinner on a recent trip to France. Food was amazing! One of best meals we've ever had! Locally sourced ingredients presented with creative but perfectly balanced flavors. Owners were impeccably courteous and accommodating, even asking if we preferred to do our ordering in English or French! Incredibly patient and encouraging with our attempts to practice our French! Booked our table by phone two months prior with ease, and they welcomed us by name when we entered. Restaurant is small and was completely filled for dinner service so definitely reserve a table. Owners do everything including cooking, greeting and seating, and waiting tables with apparent ease and grace. Definitely recommend. A must for both locals and travelers.

Le Boma is a new restaurant in Rouen, located near the Place du Vieux-marche. It has a short menu with options for starters, main courses, and desserts at reasonable prices. The restaurant offers a cozy and welcoming atmosphere with modern and rustic decor. Despite being on a Saturday night, it was not crowded during a recent visit. The chef brings a modern twist to the food served, offering delicious dishes like cold soup and juicy, well-seasoned steak.
Forget the dreadful touristic places on the main drag, this is the real deal - fabulous food and wine.

A cosy restaurant to enjoy a delicious meal after a long day of touring the city or simply come for a casual date. Surprisingly not so crowded on a Saturday night when I was there. The chef brings a modern touch to the food they serve. Started my meal with a cold soup which taste as good as it looks… but was actually quite disappointed as I was looking forward to a hot soup ( no fault to the restaurant). They served up a good cut of steak that juicy, tender and well seasoned .. but the highlight was the eggplant which was so delicious. Dessert was more like a sophisticated version of a Ferrero rocher - yummy explosion of hazelnut flavour. Definitely worth a visit when you are in town. Food : ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Value : ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Ambiance : ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Service : ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Disappointed. There are so many good restaurants in rouen and we rather regret haven chosed boma. Do not understand the high goggle score of 4.8. Starter chestnut pumpkin tart with pumpkin seeds and honey is interesting but to me a bit more like a dessert than an entree. The main, I had the fish and it was a complete disaster: a tiny slice, not fresh, drowned in a fig sauce that is a bit sweet, a few pieces of fig, a celery puree that is a bit watery.
Amy — Google review
Small and modern restaurant with about a dozen tables. The host and staff very welcoming and patient with our language barrier. I have to say that from the appetizer to the dessert was wonderful. Presentation and flavor excellent. The chef came out after dinner service to hear from us. We relayed our compliments through an interpreter. It's the personal touch that makes a difference. I sincerely wish the establishment and the staff the best for the future. Merci beaucoup indeed.

Markette is a French bistro with an international twist situated on Beauvoisine Street in the heart of Rouen. The restaurant offers a concise menu featuring fresh, seasonal ingredients with three options each for starters, main courses, and desserts. Diners can expect traditional cuisine with a touch of originality and well-balanced flavors. The warm atmosphere and pleasant welcome add to the overall experience. Honestly, this place left me a bit baffled after my recent dinner. I had high expectations, thinking I’d be served some truly exceptional food, but instead, it was just... decent. Nothing really stood out. The restaurant’s decor is pretty basic, so you’re not coming here for the atmosphere. With such high ratings, I was hoping the dishes would have a creative twist or something memorable, but that wasn’t the case at all. From the asparagus to the Caesar salad to the gnocchi, everything was fine, but nothing exceptional. To be honest, I just don’t understand how this place has such high ratings. It wasn’t bad, but it certainly didn’t live up to the hype.

Really enjoyed our evening meal. Asparagus, Caesar, crying tiger and gnocchi were all excellent and well presented, finished off with a cheese course. Good service.

Probably the best meal we have had in France and that included a five day stay in Paris. Great flavours and a good balance of protein carbohydrates and vegetables. Only regret was not having a desert as we’d had enough sweets throughout the day! Food was so good I forgot to take photos.

Haute French restaurant
Nestled in the heart of Rouen, Le 6ème Sens is a culinary gem that beautifully marries history with modernity. This iconic restaurant boasts an extraordinary dining space characterized by its grand 18th-century vaulted ceilings and a striking blend of raw stone and contemporary design. The ambiance is perfect for those seeking a romantic candlelit dinner, enhanced by unique architectural elements that create an unforgettable atmosphere.
Absolutely outstanding! Le 6ème Sens is, in our opinion, the best restaurant in Rouen – maybe even in all of France. We make a special trip here just to dine. Many thanks to Anaïs and Sébastien for their warm and attentive service.

Food was good, but not all amazing, some dishes did not wow us! The lobster and Beetroot was a bit one dimensional. There was only 3 members of staff, who were lovely but rushing around serving everyone. A silly thing, but they only brought the bread with the main dishes.
Louise M — Google review
This is a sad one as the food was quite good. The service, however, was a complete disgrace. Wrong orders, missing orders, and errors on the bill are what await here. The wine accompaniments came 10 minutes after the dishes. The somelier should seek a new profession, as the wines would have been a better fit if chosen at random by a monkey. The meal took over 2 and a half hours. The appetizers and main dish were excellent, but the deserts felt comparatively cheap and uninspired.
Nik B — Google review
We had a truly lovely dinner here with our dog and 3 years old kid. Go for one of the two menu and you will not be disappointed - the fois gras was great, as well as the turbot. The wines paired were a good match. The champagne was extremely good. Service was quick, attentive and friendly. A special thanks for the staff (both table service and at the kitchen!) for the special attention given to our kid and dog - something that shall not be taken for granted and that you can find only in places with great sense of hospitality.

The absolute best meal I have ever had in France, and I have had many. The restaurant presented an experience of what fine dining in France is all about. Incredible flavors, presentation, impeccable service, creativeness, welcoming and accommodating staff.

Nice scenery with good acoustics. Food was of good quality ingredients, but nothing special unfortunately. Dessert was really nice though. Service was good, but the courses came REALLY fast after each other, so mention that you don’t want that is my tip 😉

La Rose des Vents is a popular restaurant in Rouen, offering a delightful culinary experience. The establishment welcomes guests with a warm and convivial atmosphere, complemented by elegant decor with marine touches that evoke distant travels. Visitors praise the incredible service provided by the funny and attentive team, as well as the high quality of dishes that never fail to impress. The menu changes weekly, ensuring a variety of amazing options for diners to enjoy.
Very friendly welcoming atmosphere. Waiters and the chef speak English. Contemporary, Modern, Fusion splendid food. Even though they were closed, I ordered a coffee so that I could sit on their terrace, and they brought me out a free one. It was perfect. So of course we went back for dinner that night. We were very pleasantly suprised, the food is cooked with love and skill. We had the beetroot starter (so good we forgot to photograph it!), a bottle of brouilly, and fresh cod, and tender pork cutlet for the main course. Surprisingly tender, perfectly cooked and really tasty food! And for dessert the fresh strawberries, raspberries and new seasons rhubarb was a perfect way to complete the main. Definitely worth a visit if you are in Rouen!!! Very centrally located, close to the cathedral and it was full of locals on the night we dined there.

Loved this restaurant. It was intimate and the chef and waiter were so lovely. I speak very little French and the waiter did his best to explain the menu to me. The food combinations were wonderful and surprising. The dessert used candied peppers, it sounds like it shouldn't work, but it does. Lastly, they played great music, Aretha Franklin and Otis Redding. I was bobbing to the music whilst doing a happy food dance. I highly recommend this authentic french restaurant.

Tea house
Café Hamlet is a new restaurant located in the heart of Rouen, near an old mass grave dating back to the Black Death. Chef Damien Duboc brings a modern twist to traditional dishes such as lobster brioche bread and oxtail burger. The menu is relatively short but offers options for vegan and gluten-free diners. Prices are slightly higher than average, but the location and quality of food make it worthwhile.
Actually, I didn’t even know about this restaurant, but i started out at restaurant called Paul Arthur’s and they had no availability so this really nice waiter gave me the address and name of this restaurant. I am very happy that the people in this city want to keep visitors, happy which they did from the beginning when we walked in without a reservation the manager ? was trying to accommodate us which he did. We sat outside the waiters and waitresses didn’t speak much English so that they tried really hard and they did a great job they do have a queue that you can look on your phone and get it in English so that was very helpful. I had the bar fish which I’ve never had for. It was delicious. We also had a green salad and we also had the beef special of the day and then we tried one of their fabulous desserts had a wine bottle of water. I felt fairly priced for the quality and quantity of the food and the atmosphere It was a delicious dinner actually one of the best since I’ve been in France, which is only been six days, but especially in this city. This is a very well run restaurant.

Excellent meal and service, delighted we found this gem in Rouen. Really enjoyed the atmosphere in a beautiful setting with a self-playing piano. But most importantly the food was first class. Thank you!
Stephen H — Google review
Google Maps did not lead us astray - this was a great find, but first we DID have to find it! It is accessed through a courtyard via a passageway and not visible from the street, so pay attention to the number 186. We got there at around 11:30AM on a Sunday, and it was fairly empty, but quickly filled up with locals, always a good sign. My wife and I each had the “Le Burger de queue de bœf”, which is not a burger as you would think of it, but shredded oxtail meat presented much like a pulled pork sandwich, on an artisanal brioche bun with greens, tomato, cheese and onion. And served with wedges of roasted potato. It was fabulous but messy, as the sauce tends to drip, so hold it over your plate. We paired this with a draft beer that was the perfect match.
Steve L — Google review
We wanted to try this place on the last day in Rouen. The food was decent, the service was good. The atmosphere was ok, our table wasn’t the best kind of in the middle with a lot of action around. Overall, a good place to try but it was a bit overpriced.
Veronika — Google review
I've been here twice now, it's the perfect weekend lunch with friends or family spot! Prices are a little more than elsewhere, but the location makes it well worth it. The staff also speak English for the most part, we were in a mixed language group this past weekend, and they handled it like pros. Food: Everything was delicious, of course. The first time, I had the Tandoori Burger. This past time, I opted for the Beef Tartar that was dressed in a Thai style. Exquisite. Perfect after a hot day of walking around the city! As a local, there are many good restaurants, but this is the place I bring visitors. Good mix of local ingredients and cool vibes!

Could try, kinda like the glass roof space which is very friendly in sunny autumn season. Dessert is great too, they offer special desserts from Gill patisserie which I think is one of the best in Rouen.
Sicily S — Google review
Unacceptable conduct from the staff. I am unsure whether it is a policy of the establishment to accommodate customers based on personal preference. I waited in line to be served, while a large family ahead of us was attended to without issue (they were speaking French). However, when I spoke in English — as my French is not at a good level — I was informed that the restaurant was fully booked for today. I find this behavior borderline discriminatory. I truly cannot understand the hype surrounding a place that neither shows respect to its customers nor upholds the level of prestige that its name suggests.

The Poké Time Rouen fast food restaurant is located in the heart of the district of antiquaires in Rouen, and has a cosy and welcoming atmosphere. It is also possible to take home your poke bowls here.
We ordered for pickup but walked to the wrong location but the staff redirected us nicely to the good address. (there are two poke time locations) we had to walk to ‘88 RUE CAUCHOISE, ROUEN’ to pickup our order. The poke bowl staff was very kind and friendly. The pokebowls themselves were very nice and fresh. We highly recommend this spot for good poke bowls (order for pickup on their own website)

I do not recommend this place. I had a large Hawaiian bowl. The rice was dry and in blocks as if it had been there for quite some time. The carrots also were very dry. The sauce bit too much... overall a bad experience, I would not advice others to eat there.

This was a great dinner! We went for the menu’s of 4 and really liked everything! Highly recommended place. It’s better to do the reservation upfront

The worst restaurant experience I had in Rouen. The owner changed about 2 months ago - most good reviews refer to the owner before. We took the 4 course menu (starter, main dish, cheese, dessert) for 28 euros. Starters and main dishes were really bad. Don't get blended by the photos, decoration of plates is good but quality of the food and taste really bad. Duck terrine had a taste of nothing much. Slugs were okay. Duck was not roasted. Risotto (side dish) tasted of not much. Vegetables (side dish) tasted lime tomato paste. Sauces tasted worse than a ready made sauce from the supermarket. Cheese and apple pie as dessert were okay. There are too many tables for the small room. Would not recommend going there!

The place is cosy and nice for a romantic dinner. You have menus for 19€, 24€, 28€ and 37€. I had a ray with cream sauce (13€ a la carte). It came with some vegetables and it was all very tender and tasty delicious ! My husband had a 24€ menu with ravioli (starter), entrecôte with Camembert sauce (main course) with french fries, cheese plate and feuilleté with apple flambée. It was all very delicious and worth the price. The waiter was really nice and friendly. My only regret, there's no good option for vegetarians.

I went one late afternoon for a latte. It wasn't very busy. I had my choice of seats and chose the bench facing the ancient marketplace. I asked the woman in charge for a latte with only a little espresso and "plus du lait." About 10 minutes later a server comes out with a tablespoon of espresso and 2 tbsps of milk. I was getting ready to accept my fate and drink it anyway, when she reprimanded me about the almonds I was getting ready to snack on. Apparently you can't eat almonds while you're drinking your coffee. Between the over priced, unsuitable coffee and being reprimanded like a child, (I'm retired), I just walked away. I'm happy that they have enough customers that they can be rude to those who are planning to be here for a month and was looking forward to drinking coffee and watching people on the square every day. Their loss. So many other nice cafes with better prices, who follow instructions, and ARN'T rude. Run, don't walk away from this place.

Very unfriendly and arrogant staff. We arrived at the restaurant at around 6:45 pm, when the terrace was almost empty. A waiter asked us to change tables and directed us to another table, which we did without any problem. Later, another colleague finally came to take our order (after a long wait). Without even looking around, the first thing she asked was for us to move again, this time from a table for four to a table for two. We explained politely that we preferred the table where we were, and that we wouldn’t be staying long anyway. The terrace was still almost completely empty, but it turned into a big argument. She insisted that “the restaurant has rules” and that as clients we had to respect them. I replied that this was not what hospitality is about, and that we didn’t want to be difficult customers. She answered: “I’m the maître, I know my rules and my job.” I went inside, but the same discussion continued, even someone from the kitchen came out to say we had to respect the rules of the restaurant. At that point we left, very disappointed. A place that could be nice, but instead has unfriendly and arrogant staff who rigidly follow “rules” instead of making their guests feel welcome. Definitely not recommended.
Christian C — Google review
The is was the worst meal we had across 2 weeks in France. Wish we had read more of the reviews before choosing as those most recent talk consistently about the cold food, and poor service. The venue is in a great location, and the teddies, the mirrors - make it look good. However - starters arrived barely luke warm. We hoped this wasn’t the start of things to come. We had been sat on the second floor as the downstairs was busy. The mains arrived - one duck dish overcooked. Four dishes luke warm, but two were completely stone cold. The staff were no where to be seen - when they finally came back we sent the two cold ones back, and as our four dishes were nearly finished, we said not to bother with new meals as we needed to move to desserts and make our way to a museum. So we needed to leave soon. (The chips were stone cold. The cream sauce has congealed on the top). A very angry French waiter appeared with two more dishes of food and told us we had to eat them or take it away as now they have cooked it, they were not taking it off the bill. When we explained its not good service to ask someone to pay for cold food or food they have had to send back and had their lunch ruined, it was “tough luck, we have now made new ones so you should have them”. We explained again about needing to leave and needing to move to desserts. They told us we were on the second floor and that’s why it was cold. Honestly; it was ridiculous and we had great meals at the same price in Rouen. Would absolutely not revisit or recommend. (They also charged us for a side dish that never arrived).

Nice little bistro . Nice staff. Helpful . Food was ok. The soup was cold, not hot. We both had the duck. Whilst the taste was good but the duck was tough and hard to eat. The vegetables were good. It was ok. Price was 72 euros including a bottle of water and a glass of wine. We wouldn’t go again if we were in Rouen

Came here on Friday night, the location and ambience are great, but that's where it ends. We were seated at the front facing onto the square and it took several attempts to get any waiter to take our order. We both ordered foi grass, wine and a main. The wine arrived promptly and was fine, but I have never had foi gras as bad as this, lumpy and full of wobbly lumps of fat. My french friend was similarly disgusted, said he had never seen foi gras like that. The mains arrived, I had their version of croque monsieur, and it was fine, but the accompanying fries were soggy and heavy with fat. My partner had the chicken supreme, which was only ok. I asked for a second glass of wine when the mains arrived and despite repeatedly (5 or 6 times)asking at least 3 wait staff, the wine never arrived! We canceled the wine, paid and left.

The highlight of our trip to Rouen. From the wine that was recommended to the starters and the mains, everything hit the spot. Alain our waiter (and possibly owner?) was attentive and in high spirits, teasing my partner in good humour when she finally gave up with the French menu and had to switch to the English version. Not only was fine dining on offer Alain also offered recommendations on places to visit during our trip in Normandy

Had a lovely early dinner of Normandy oysters, Cassoulet and Chicken Kiev while relaxing and watching world go by from a classic people watching spot out front. Both dishes came in generous portion and were very tasty if not 100% classic preparations. The wine list has a good selection of wines from all over France at reasonable prices. Finally our servers were fantastic; they were friendly, very on the ball despite being very busy and spoke great English. They also allowed me to butcher the French language very graciously. Thoroughly recommend this place for a meal in the tourist area of Rouen.

Dame Cakes is a charming tea salon located in Rouen, France. The salon offers a delightful selection of sweet and savory pastries and tarts within an elegant Louis XV decor. Visitors can enjoy the wonderful view of the cathedral from the upper floor while indulging in delicious treats. Housed in a historic building dating back over a century, Dame Cakes provides an ideal setting for afternoon tea with its delectable cakes and small delights.
Very cute cake and tea shop with strong coffee! Rhubarb tart was very good. Didn't order tea this time, but I'm familiar with the brand and its very high quality. I think the current rating of 4.3 stars for this restaurant is a bit low, given my experiences elsewhere. Staff speak excellent English

Charming spot in Rouen! The terrace is absolutely lovely and peaceful — perfect on a sunny day. The tea selection is excellent. I tried tea dames and the chocolate peanut cake, and my friend had the Jeanne tea and the framboise cake. They were so delicious. Highly recommend for a cozy afternoon treat near the cathedral!
Jessica B — Google review
It is a very enchanting environment. The room is beautifully decorated and there’s something charming everywhere. The display is full of cakes and make you wish all of them. I decided to eat inside and were easily accommodated by the nice staff. We had cakes and tried their hot chocolate. I loved the dark hot chocolate made with water. It was creamy and intense, not too sweet and somehow very light. It was delicious - and I preferred it over the traditional hot chocolate. We also had cakes (lemon with strawberry and pistachio with apricots). They were very good, but I was not amazed. Overall, the experience is really good and I think it’s worthy the visit.
DANIELA S — Google review
This place is pretty, has a good variety of delicious cakes! The beautiful asthetics inside gives you old English house vibe. The staff was kind and friendly. The chai latte was top notch! Food was homely as well. Will visit again.

Dame Cake Salon de Thé is one of those spots that seems to show up on every "must-visit" list in Rouen, so naturally, I had to check it out. From the moment you arrive, it’s hard not to be impressed by the beautiful window display filled with tempting pastries. It definitely sets high expectations. We visited around 11 a.m. and were lucky to be seated right away without waiting in line. We already knew what we wanted: the famous Tarte Tatin, served with mascarpone cream, and a crumble with pears and chocolate. Unfortunately, neither dessert lived up to the hype. The tarte tatin had a soggy base and the chocolate in the crumble didn't mix well with the pears, and I honestly couldn’t understand what all the fuss was about—or why people are willing to queue so long to eat here. I rated it 2 stars instead of 3 because of the big disappointment. With so many great places to enjoy desserts in Rouen, I believe there are much better options out there. This one didn’t live up to its reputation for me.

A hidden gem right behind the Cathedral, on a charming little street. The coffee was great, the cakes not so much… but just being here was worth the experience 😊 Definitely recommend!

Charming and Romantic Tea Room in the Heart of Rouen! If you're looking for a romantic and cozy spot in Rouen, Dame Cake is a wonderful place to visit. This delightful tea room feels like stepping into a real-life dollhouse, it's incredibly charming. It's the perfect place to unwind with a cup of Mariage Frères tea and indulge in one of their delicious homemade cakes. Their hot chocolate is also a must try, rich yet comforting. On sunny days, the lovely outdoor terrace offers a peaceful spot to enjoy your treats in the open air. Whether you're a local or just visiting, Dame Cake offers a truly enchanting experience.

Les Nymphéas is a charming restaurant located on the banks of the Seine River, offering breathtaking panoramic views of Rouen's historic architecture. The 17th-century half-timbered house provides an intimate and romantic atmosphere for couples to enjoy a delightful meal. The menu features refined Normandy cuisine, including Saint-Vaast oysters and Armorican lobster tail, expertly prepared by attentive chef Vincent Taillefer.
9 out of 10 for excellent service, food quality and presentation. Elegant atmosphere while maintaining a personal feeling. The staff was attentive and prompt with service. The price level is closer to a $$$ than a $$, but completely worth it. The creativity and presentation of the dishes was above the price point. Side note: they have a good selection of wines from all major French regions at different price points.

This is a fantastich place for spending an evening. A delightful menu with various dishes. I had oysters, pork cheek and cheeses, and they were all delicious, especially the pork cheek. Service was very friendly, with a capable staff, who were also managing a large group. Which is always a challenge, but apart from seeing the group, we did not notice it in our service quality. I can certainly recommend this place if you happen to be in Rouen.
Arjan T — Google review
Just around the corner from a certain more famous and touristy lies this blissful gem. The atmosphere is serene, the staff gracious and warm, and the food magnificent. Every course was delicious, and the souffle for dessert was out of this world.
Alison A — Google review
Went to Les Nymphéas based on Google search and I had a good meal with good service. I had the business menu which I thought was good value as it consists of main with entrée or dessert, 2 glasses of wine and coffee. I was pleasantly surprised that the main dish has rice and was cooked just right. I could see the individual grains, each fully cooked and with firmness. Delicious! The meat was really tender, I enjoyed the main dish fully. Another worthy of mention is the little dessert that came with coffee. These complemented the coffee well that sugar wasn't needed for the coffee at all.

We enjoyed our lunch at Les Nympheas from the lovely timber walls to the delicious food and very attentive service!
Diana R — Google review
First of all, service is excellent. All the staff are very attentive and give great recommendations for wine pairing etc. Food doesn’t lag behind . We took Monet menu, which was 56 eur and price quality ratio was really good. We had starters (salad with gravlax and oysters), main course (sea bass and veal kidney), selection of local cheeses and dessert (crispy pear and Black Forest). Everything was excellent. The sea bass dish could be tuned a little better. The lemon sauce did not go perfectly with celery pure in my opinion - I’d rather pair it with carrot pure or even sweet potatoes pure. The restaurant is also very cozy, with the courtyard seating in the back. Pink table cloths could maybe be replaced with a lighter color, but they’d just a personal preference:) Overall, fabulous place, highly recommend it.
Jovana — Google review
We only had an hour to enjoy lunch when it should have been two or three, but the maitre d' made sure that we had a delicious dish within our time frame. The ambience is beautiful, the food superb, and the service, needless to say, was perfect.
Barbara R — Google review
Strange one this. Staff were great, pro but warm and friendly also. Atmosphere pleasant, the room is elegant and was full of Sunday diners who looked like locals. The problem was the food - we only had main courses but they were not good at all. Lamb and fish both had off putting smells and tastes, definitely not actually off, just unappetising. Could be we were both unlucky with our choices as the amuse bouche and petit fours offered were fine. However with the price of the main courses at 30-35 euros each this felt like a mistake and a waste of money.

Takeout Restaurant
La Cornaelle is a delightful creperie located on the picturesque street of Robec in Rouen. The charming building exudes old-world appeal with its stone walls and exposed beams, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The menu offers an array of regular and specialty crepes, including sweet options for those with a sweet tooth.
The crepes were delicious, both the sweet and savoury ones. They were nice and crispy, and there was a good amount of filling to crepe ratio. The atmosphere is nice, as the restaurant has nice outdoor seating with a little stream near. The service was good, and the food didn't take too long to arrive. I would definitely come here again if I was ever in the area.

It's not easy to find perfect galettes breton outside Bretagne. Cornaelle offers a broad selection - over a dozen varieties - on authentically crisp, impossibly thin buckwheat crepes, and all delicious. So treat yourself to an authentic Rouen experience. Walking there, through pedestrian areas and low traffic streets, gets you outside the central tourist area, with most of the buildings still old and charming. It was a memorable part of our brief visit.
Walt B — Google review
Friendly staff. No savoury crepes available due to understaffing. Crepes where okay, however nothing special. Coffee was poor and weak flavour. Cappuccino was full with chocolate sauce.

Important, the place is so popular amongst the locals, in peak times reservation is a must. However they were full inside they were serve us in the chilly terace... ;) (so random drop in isn't hopeless if you have warm coats) The prices are modearate and the food is tasty. €10-14 for a portion and table water is traditionally free. Sweet desserts below €10

When asked if there was room inside the lady said there wasn't and we had to sit outside but shortly after 7 people entered and for them it didn't seem to be a problem... That same lady came to take the order and seemed very annoyed and impatient and rolled her eyes for no reason whatsoever. She did the same when I asked the ticket after paying. The food is definitely excellent so that's the reason you do wanna go there. This lady might wanna start looking for another job where she doesn't have to work with people. It will be better for everyone involved.

My wife and I ate at this restaurant two nights in a row. First night we had the Tandoori Chicken and the Bendjan Tchalao. The tandoori was excellent and the aubergine dish was good. We washed it down with a bottle of Ernest Wein Alsace Reisling. The second night we had the Reisling and Tandoori plus a Kofta dish. The Kofta was good and the Tandoori was again excellent. The owner was kind enough to provide us each night with a spicy green chilli sauce that worked beautifully with our taste buds. Great food and great service!

The food was fantastic, the waitress was very kind and accommodating BUT still giving 1 Star because of the Manager who handles the reservation at the counter. Despite accepting our online reservation he was talking to us like we were his slaves. One of the most unprofessional restaurant manager's we have ever seen in France. Kudos to the waitress who handled the situation with sheer professionalism and class

Good brunch spot in Rouen - open Sundays. We went for the brunch formule that is quite pricey but nice for €25. They offer savory sweet potato waffles, I recommend the Italian one with burrata and ham. As for the toast we ordered the salmon with avocado. For desserts they offer three mini pancakes with maple syrup that are delicious. Then yogurt with fruits topped with granola and honey. The service is a little slow.

Awful. The hot chocolate was sour and not very hot so the chocolate did not mix. The waffles were dry, thin, seemed like they were reheated from yesterday. The waiter brought the food first, without the utensils, then we asked for them, he only bright a fork, so we had to ask again for the knife and napkins. In the meantime the food got cold. The quest experience in a long time.

Les Gens Heureux is a charming restaurant that offers a diverse menu with dishes prepared using fresh, seasonal ingredients. The beef fillet with morel mushrooms is particularly divine. Vegetarians will be delighted by the interesting and complex French vegetarian options that change weekly. The staff is friendly and accommodating, making it a welcoming place for English speakers. While the portion sizes are not large, the prices are reasonable for the delicious three-course meals offered.
First off, if you are vegetarian definitely make a point of coming here! They have amazing French vegetarian options, which can be hard to find, with interesting and complex flavors (the menu rotates weekly). In addition, both the server and owner were unbelievably kind about my limited French. They explained things slowly and clearly and were very welcoming! Vegetarian friendly, nice staff and delicious food. One lady spoke good English. Compared to other restaurants in the city, this place is quite affordable however the portion sizes are not that big. As far as I understood it, the menu changes weekly. For starters we had vegetarian Maki (made with zucchini) and a tomato soup, both were good but the Maki were just amazing. Sadly the portion only constituted of three pieces. As main I had ratatouille which was good and my boyfriend chose fish, which according to him was delicious. As dessert we both chose a chocolate tart with pear, which we enjoyed a lot. It was delicious and not too sweet. Here, the amount was perfect. Even though the portion sizes were not that big, we would come back and recommend it :)

The salmon is a big surprise. Personally I think it’s better than the beef! Except the sauce is a bit too strong while the sauce for beef doesn’t really match. The Guacamole sauce is super fresh and tasty with cucumber! The cocktail is also really good.

A fantastic spot in the heart of Rouen. My girlfriend and I stumbled upon it during our visit and were happily surprised to find Peruvian-Japanese food. Lovely set up but the food portions are rediculously small for the price you pay. Asked for Green Tea - which was then recommended by the waiter to change to Green Ice Tea. Wrong choice of recommendation from the waiter/host as it was too syrupy sweet. A totally different flavour profile from the original request of traditional Green Tea. Asked for a non sweet version - which was eventually given to me as water with some mint leaves inside. Price for water (not from a bottle) with two mint leaves was about €4. We three girls came in starving and left hungry.

Ma is one of the best bakeries I’ve ever visited. We had a fougasse and a few other odds and ends that were excellent. BUT, the real star of the show is the vanilla tarte! His bread is average good (but he is still the best bread in town), nothing too special even though the owner is a MOF (an award in France). His pastries I do not recommend: two weeks ago I got a lemon tart from there. It had a super weird taste and I had to trash the whole thing (some ingredient was spoiled for sure). Yesterday, March 5, me and my friend got a chocolate eclair from his second store on the east side (not the old mkt store) and it was heavy like a stone. The dough, I could tell it was not fresh. Both my friend and I felt it heavy in our stomachs afterwards. He is still the best bakery in Rouen; for pastry, I recommend Maison something by Decathlon.

Tempo is a new gourmet restaurant that has quickly become one of the best dining spots in the city. The modern cuisine offered at Tempo provides a journey for the senses with its fresh and tasty products. The atmosphere is described as cozy, simple, and elegant, making it a must-visit for any self-respecting gourmet in Rouen. Guests have praised the impeccable service and informed recommendations for wine pairings.
Tempo is a good gastronomic restaurant, offering quality food in the affordable price range (except maybe for the bottled water). The taste of the various ingredients remains intact throughout the menu, some may think it could be lacking “complexity”, I personally find it interesting to have the taste of every ingredient recognizable and blending together in every bite. The room was cozy and calm, prone to relaxing while enjoying your meal. Its architecture and inner design are modern, classy without being arrogant. The chief waiter was good at his job and very friendly : you even get to leave the restaurant with a small gift. Only imperfection would be the service being not that fast to serving you water and some employees seeming a bit new in the job (due to the global shortage in restaurants), but that’s can be seen as a detail.
G. F — Google review
I tried the 6-course tasting menu and was disappointed. While the presentation was beautiful, the food itself was underwhelming. The beef dish was particularly tough and chewy, and the portion sizes were smaller than expected. On the positive side, the service was excellent—attentive and friendly—and the restaurant’s decor created a lovely ambiance. However, despite these positives, the food didn’t meet expectations, and I can’t recommend the restaurant based solely on the dining experience. I gave it 3 stars for the service and atmosphere.

We had an incredible experience. The service was welcoming and attentive and the food was amazing. I would definitely go back to Rouen just to visit Tempo again.

Incredible experience and dining surprises. Food is exquisite, service is above all expectations. Amazing Experience in Rouen!
Donna K — Google review
We enjoyed the experience and the food when dining at Tempo. The service was fantastic with each course being explained, for us in English. The servings were based on what was fresh and the chef worked to accommodate any food allergies or restrictions. The restaurant was directly across the street from where our ship as docked making it easy to experience dining in Rouen.

Look no further for dinner in Rouen. This is currently a very special place. In the evenings there is a choice of tasting menus all very reasonably priced. Everything was superb but the amouse Bouche will linger long in our memories. The chef is very much en forme. Go now when you can get a table.

Brunch restaurant
Café Love, located at 3 Rue Des Basnages, Rouen, 76000, France, is a charming spot that offers a delectable breakfast and lunch menu. The breakfast options include savory egg dishes and sweet treats like granola bowls and pancakes. For lunch, patrons can enjoy poke bowls, avocado toasts, buns, and nachos. The café also serves an array of coffees, juices, and soft drinks.
Friendly staff. Nice environment - Cozy atmosphere. Satisfying portions - we ordered 2 pancakes salés XXL (one with bacon and one with salmon). They were both delicious. Prices are reasonable. Would definitely recommend this place for coffee and brunch.

The best breakfast place in my life! A really cool design, friendly staff and absolutely lovely atmosphere! I really recommend to take the brunch: you pay 25€ for 2 large drinks, a main dish and a dessert! Thank you so much! I would come to Rouen again just because of this place!
Arina Y — Google review
Breakfast is served until 10h30. We came in around noon and ordered pancake gourmond and the brioche. Both were delicious but the brioche was a little undercooked and doughy. For drinks we have the cafe au lait and chai - the drinks were spectacular. I would recommend coming here anytime for food or just for a cup of coffee. Brunches served only on weekends. The brunch menu looked fantastic, unfortunately we were there during the week.

Liked the taste, the order was ready fast enough, and respectful staff. The internal design could be improved though: maybe real plants and flowers instead of using artificial ones?
Kaveh D — Google review
Lovely little café with very nice interior. The lunch was tasty and plenty. The cuisine is fresh with an Asian touch, which is a nice combo in my opinion.

Viktor Café is a charming spot where you can enjoy a strong and delicious cup of coffee. The place has a cozy atmosphere, and the barista or possibly the owner is known for being very friendly. While it may be small, it's perfect for a quick and clean break. However, do note that they are closed on Sundays. It's evident that they have built close relationships with their regular customers, making it a welcoming destination to return to.
I had two coffees. They were good, strong but good. One guy working but the place is quaint. 10:10 would come back again. Can definitely tell that he’s close with his regulars :)

(Translated by Google) Very rude staff, no friendliness. We wanted to have crepes but there weren't any, and on top of that, we were refused the right to play our card game. Really unwelcoming atmosphere, I don't recommend it. (Original) Personnel très désagréable, aucune amabilité. (Translated by Google) We received a very poor reception at Café Viktor. The waiter was very rude when one of us asked for a glass of water. We paid to cut the conversation short. He was again very rude. He even went so far as to chase us down the street, throwing the contents of our unfinished glasses and insulting us. Worse, he became very physically aggressive. We will never return. (Original) Nous avons été très mal reçu au café Viktor. Le serveur a été très mal aimable quand l'un d'entre nous a demandé un verre d'eau. Pire, en devenant très agressif physiquement. Nous ne reviendrons jamais.

Restaurant
Chez Rose et Max is a delightful dining destination that captures the essence of the vibrant 70s with its eye-catching decor and lively ambiance. The restaurant boasts a unique interior filled with funky patterns and groovy lighting, creating an inviting atmosphere for guests. Their menu features an array of delectable shared dishes, perfect for those who love to sample different flavors. While the cocktails are generously crafted and add to the overall experience, some dishes may require a bit more effort to enjoy fully.
My favorite restaurant in Rouen! Seasonal menu, great cocktails and an amazing atmosphere - a must visit!

Oscar F — Google review
(Translated by Google) A very nice experience! However, I don't classify it as a restaurant but more as a tapas bar. Indeed, the dishes offered are more “for sharing”, followed by desserts. The cocktails are nevertheless qualitative and the food tasty. However, I recommend it for an aperitif dinner with friends because the setting is very original, like the 70's, all for reasonable prices.

(Translated by Google) Very beautiful restaurant, with original decoration, a little hidden (you clearly need to know the address to venture there). The food is good, the dishes are good, beautiful and plentiful. The cocktails are excellent (and there is a choice!). Be careful though, the prices are a little high for Rouen, even if it's still homemade.

(Translated by Google) The concept is to share except that there isn't much to share on the plates... Of course, it's home cooked and it's very good but that doesn't make up for the too little. Very good non-alcoholic cocktail but equal to the contents of the plates once again, not much to drink. Addition (too) high (the 5 or 6 small accras of cod at 12€...) for a hunger that is not really satisfied.

(Translated by Google) Very pleasant meal of dishes to share, a warm welcome, very good well-filling cocktails, small downside on the ribs a little hard to separate but the other dishes excellent. A beautiful design and good atmosphere in the toilets! Les Macarons de Grand'Mère Auzou is a must-try treat in Rouen. Created by the renowned chocolatier Auzou, these delightful macarons are a popular choice for visitors looking to bring home a taste of the city. The display at Rue des Carmes walkway is a visual delight, and purchasing them from the cart is convenient. With an array of flavors stacked in a triangular fashion, these colorful macarons are visually appealing and delicious.
I'm far from being an expert on macaronis, but my experience with the ones I bought here is totally awesome! This is the best I have ever had, rose petal and hazelnut are my personal favorites. Every aspect has made it wonderful, the look, the taste, the structure. Yum! Service was also at a very high level. 5/5

I just came there, wanted to buy some chocolate, I and said that don't speak French and I want to look. There was a girl blond, I don't know her name, but she was super rude. she answered very loudly and was super super rude.i was shocked. I have never had that kind of experience. Can you tell her to behave more human, it's not normal. I am very angry. What was her problem. I have never visit there anymore. She doesn't like foreigners or I don't know.

I am still angry of your saleswoman. I was reading your past reviews and some people complaining. It's not professional. Your shop is really nice and why you have such a rude saleswoman? lady with short blonde hair and glasses exectly. Some people were written about her also.

Auzou macarons display is a sight to behold! The display is located on the Rue des Carmes walkway, and can be purchased at the cart. How convenient. We had the same box made by Pillon in Toulouse in an equally artisanal way….and a Google search found the same box at Henriet in the Basque country and the chocolatier in Tours… It looks a lot like quality but industrial chocolate. We are therefore disappointed by the brand's communication and the reality... (Original) Les chocolats sont bon mais quid de l artisanat? And a little treat that's truly Seine-Maritime: you'll find Neufchâtel in all its variations. There's something for everyone! Et contrairement à ce que j'ai pu lire dans un autre commentaire, les prix pratiqués sont, au pire, dans la moyenne du marché.
