The 50 best foods to try in Tacoma

I can't wait to come back again. We chose over the moon cafe for our first date night of 2025. We were greeted to an intimate and charming dining experience with excellent service. We started with some great drinks and ordered the crab bisque and jumbo shrimp for starters. Both dishes were out of this world good and would highly recommend. For entrees we went with the chicken cacciatore which was incredible and the duck breasts (more about the duck breast below). About the Duck: For those that do not like or have never tried medium rare poultry, I'd recommend staying away from this dish. Service does warn you that it's prepared medium rare, but I did not expect it to be as rare as it came out. The taste was delicious with the port red cherry reduction and mashed potatoes creating an explosion of flavor with every bite. It started to become increasingly difficult to cut through the rare meat as I approach the center which took away from the dining experience (also if you don't get through the center relatively quickly the raw poultry smell will start to hit your senses at this point). All in all I love the location and atmosphere of this place, and as I said at the beginning I can't wait to come back, and I might even give the Duck a second try to rule out that mine we're just a bit under cooked.

We came in at 430 for a 5pm res on a Saturday night and were seated right away, looked like they had some more availability for walk-ins, too. Very cozy interior with quirky design, industrial and kind of like 90s romance but not in an old looking way. We ordered a few non-alcoholic drinks (which were delicious!) and a few starters, including the Caesar Sal (yum) and the scallop crudo (tasty passionfruit, crispy garlic, pickled Fresno peppers- like a deconstructed sriracha- really a nicely composed dish visually and culinarily.) The mains we tried were amazing as well- rich perfectly mantecatto (creamed) risotto, perfectly cooked scallops, the right amount of truffle and chive oil. The duck was perfect, crispy skin, well rendered fat beneath, with a perfect medium doneness- very tender- paired wonderfully with the cherry sauce/reduction and the rich delicious mash. I would say it seems like the seasonal veg may be batch roasted rather than cooked to order- but it was still delicious and had great texture to compliment the dish. The maitake primavera pasta was a real flavor journey in the best way- the fermented chili crisp blends perfectly with the basil and mushroom to create a unique combo that id never really encountered before- the mushroom was deep fried to be crispy on the outside but perfectly tender on the inside- permitting some really unique plating. The turtle pie was decadent but not too heavy to eat after three entrees- a lighter caramel with pecans beneath an awesome thick layer of ganache (chocolate truffle basically) - perfectly complemented by mint, whipped cream, and berry port reduction. Super pleased with our experience, and will definitely be back many times!

We were able to be seated as a walk in right away. The ambiance is extremely cozy and romantic, I’d only really recommend for date nights. Most people seemed to be there on a special occasion. The food was simply incredible. You can tell each dish was made to order. Fantastic butter shrimp which I think was our favorite dish and creamy Brussels sprouts appetizer (warning: lots of cheese). The seared halibut was bright and fresh. The brown butter scallop risotto was so rich and delicious, I couldn’t stop eating it. Great wine selection as well and the moondrop cocktail was strong and tangy. Sabrina our waitress took fantastic care of us. Didn’t have room for dessert but we will definitely be back whenever we’re in town!

We chose this place for our anniversary and had booked it in advance. We had been here before and liked the atmosphere. There is no parking lot in the restaurant, so it is a paid street parking lot. But it's free after 6 pm, so it might be better to make a reservation after 6 pm. The atmosphere inside the restaurant feels like a time slip to the calm old atmosphere. Our table was filled with black tablecloths and red rose petals, and it seemed like they were welcoming our anniversary. The server woman was polite and pleasant. I asked for a warm cup of tea, and my husband ordered a Mezcal Mule. I ordered a starter for Gnocchi, which was not on the menu, it was was recommended for the day. This was very delicious. And we chose Over the Moon Lasagna and Brown Butter Scallop Risotto from the specialty menu. A chef brought us two dishes. Later, the server woman said that the risotto was vegetarian, not a scallop, and later, the scallop risotto was replaced. But we liked the taste of butternut better than the scallops. The lasagna looked like something was indistinguishable. Because it's a lasagna without pasta. Unfortunately, the taste was salty for us. Finally, we wanted something sweet, so I chose Vegan dessert. We chose a healthy choice, but I took a bite, and I felt like I should have had another sweet dessert. We want to visit here another time.

Short version OMFG..... This place rocks, the steak was a study in complex flavors, textures cooked to absolute perfection. The smashed potatoes while on the salty side combined with the steak to preform a harmony that made made each bite a though provoking journey in culinary tastes, textures, and flavors. I sampled the spouses scallops and they were cooked to absolute perfection. At the end of our evening, the house chef came out and asked us to try his lates culanary experiment. Not my thing but the spouse loved it. We will be back to try the other offerings, but honestly its gona be hard not going with the steak every time.

Exquisite! This is a wonderful and expensive meal. We enjoyed one each of the 3 small plates. At Over the Moon I enjoyed the best shrimp I've ever eaten in my life. They were seasoned and sauteed to absolute perfection. I recommend ordering a double order in a bowl of the Gnocchi, it is delicate and sumptuous. So WONDERFUL. The lasagna was layered with bold, wholesome and delicate flavors and fresh, creamy burrata and seasoned meats and vegetables. The ragu with beef shank was delightfully hearty. Everything served was beautifully balanced with layer upon layer of flavor. Please order and delight in sipping a complex Vieux Carre' cocktail (or two), you will not be disappointed.

I love, love, love this place! It has been my go-to place for all kinds of special occasions. The staff is amazing, the atmosphere unique and cozy, and the food is just as great as everything else. I love all the good memories I have sharing dinner with my most favorite people at OTM Cafe.

We went here for our anniversary last year, October 24, 2024, we didn’t have reservations but we had our 3 kids with us. We arrived at 7:30, told the host that we didn’t have reservations and that it was our anniversary. We both worked and went straight to dinner so we weren’t dressed up, but also didn’t look we just walked up off the streets. They gave us the best table in the house, explained to us the menu as we told them it was our first time there. Let me tell you, the host and our waiters went out of their way to make us feel welcomed, this was one of the best dining experiences of our lives. The oysters were fresh, they gave us a few toppings to try on them, wow, I still haven’t had any other oysters that tasted like the ones we had that night. My husband and I opted for the 3 course dinner, mind blowing, the lobster bisque was heavenly, if I could pick my last meal on earth, that would be it😍 All in all, we could’ve been served a crappy meal but would still left a wonderful review because of how we were treated, even our kids said they loved this restaurant. I don’t know if the host and waiters are still there but if they are, I hope they read this and realize how so very special they made our anniversary evening. Thank you ☺️

Was pretty disappointed. Maybe it was a bad night. Service was slower than I would have expected. And for the price, the food was just average. Great presentation. Average taste. Lobster bisque and calamari were the best things there. The lobster was just okay. Would give them another chance but not anytime soon.

We attempted to have dinner here but came across an issue and were not able to attend. We seen the good reviews and did not want to miss trying this restaurant, so we had lunch. The sourdough bread was very good to start. We had the soup and sandwich combos. We tried the lobster bisque (delicious) and had both the Connecticut and Maine lobster rolls. The rolls were both extremely tasty and worth getting. Our server was very friendly and attentive. The view is pleasant. We will definitely return to try their dinner service. Don't miss on this gem!!

We made reservations for a Friday night at 7 p.m. (6/20). We walked in, and the hostess was extremely rude and had a major attitude. She didn't seem like or sounded like she enjoyed her job at all. Not a great first impression for first-timers. Anyway, everything else was great! The food was fresh, but our lobster and halibut were slightly overcooked (not a huge deal). Not everyone was rude! Our waiter was very attentive and nice. Oysters were amazing, and cocktails were on point. I wouldn't go out of my way to come back, though.

During a recent girls' trip, we had the pleasure of dining at The Lobster Shop. From the moment we walked in, the management and waitstaff, esp. Leah, made us feel incredibly welcome. Their friendliness and attentiveness were evident throughout our meal, making us feel like valued guests rather than just another table. It’s always refreshing to encounter such genuine hospitality. Now, let’s talk about the food! Each dish we ordered was delicious and beautifully presented. The seafood was fresh and flavorful, showcasing the restaurant's commitment to quality. The most unexpected and memorable part of our experience came at the end of our meal. The manager surprised our group with a complimentary dessert and a toast of champagne. This thoughtful gesture truly topped off our evening and made us feel special. It’s these little touches that elevate a dining experience from good to unforgettable. My wife, mother-in-law and I made reservations for a Tuesday evening at 7:15pm, right after the dinner rush. Our waitress Shana was amazing! Food was absolutely delicious and so was the dessert! We sat outside on the patio and everything was perfect - excellent atmosphere. Props to the management and our waitress, Shana. Will be returning 😁

I have been in Tacoma for about 7 weeks on and off! The staff are absolutely incredible, Diane has been my server most of the time and she knows the menu in and out! Try the lobster dip, it’s so flavorful and filling! Every single server has been absolutely amazing, the staff is wonderful. I’ve sat inside and out depending on if it’s cold and it’s the same experience! The staff is so kind and informs me when there are seals or fish jumping too, or what is happening in the ocean that day! Pretty amazing place! I highly recommend the Lobster Shop! The views are absolutely breathtaking!

I have been in Tacoma for 11 years and never had the pleasure of eating at this beautiful restaurant. The food is great, the host Makayla, was outstanding and she wore a very light and attractive perfume. What I appreciate most was the option to customize my curry chicken. They have an outstanding vegetable selection, but I prefer my food with broccoli sauteed. Let me tell you, this was a great experience. The hosts are professional. The manager was welcoming. This place is what I think about when I think nice, romantic, good food, great setting, they got the waterfall in here, and I WILL BE BACK!!!!!!!

I recently visited **Indochine** in Tacoma, and as someone who moved from a country where restaurant service is at a very high level, I tend to be quite critical of establishments here in the U.S. However, I also understand that service standards vary, and you can't impose your own expectations when local customs are different. If people in America enjoy this level of service, then that’s the norm here. That said, I still have high standards, and I have to say, Indochine is one of the few places that genuinely deserves the 5 stars I'm giving it. One thing that stood out to me was how promptly the waitstaff cleared our table — they didn’t wait for the plates to pile up, which is rare in many places I’ve visited here. We ordered **empanadas** as a starter, and they were juicy, flavorful, and perfectly hot — both my husband and I loved them. He had beef with mushrooms and rice, a very hearty dish that left him satisfied, and I enjoyed the tuna sashimi with a fresh salad of vegetables and pineapple. The food was a pleasant surprise. Another lovely touch was the **live flowers** on the table. I always notice those small details, and it added a fresh, welcoming vibe to the dining experience. Indochine really impressed me with both the quality of food and attention to detail.

I've seen a couple restaurants try to do this recently and I'm quite tired of it. This is typically illegal in Washington State unless the previous ownership went bankrupt. Otherwise, you can't just break your contracts with customers with a change in ownership. If the new ownership did buy this out of bankruptcy, they should put in the extra effort to explain that on the front door. Even better, its just good business not to screw over your customers day one so they should honor their business's debts. I encourage management to post the link or photo showing in the legal transaction documents their lack of liability for gift cars. I encourage them more to do and be better for their customers.

I just tried the Toasted Sesame Wraps and honestly, I can’t stop thinking about them! From the moment the plate arrived, I knew this was going to be special. The presentation alone was stunning — golden, flaky wraps arranged neatly with a generous portion of sesame-glazed stir-fry that immediately filled the air with a warm, nutty aroma. The little sprinkle of sesame seeds on top was such a simple touch, but it made the dish look so inviting. The wraps themselves were incredible. Perfectly toasted, crisp on the outside but soft and tender once you bite into them. They weren’t greasy at all, which I really appreciated, as it allowed me to focus on the filling. And the filling was packed with flavor — tender pieces of meat coated in a rich sauce that had just the right balance of sweetness, spice, and umami. Every bite had a little kick of heat that lingered, but it was smoothed out by the deep, roasted sesame flavor. I also loved how well-seasoned everything was; not too salty, not too heavy — just right. What really impressed me was how well everything came together. Wrapping the saucy filling inside those flaky wraps was like combining the best of two worlds — crispy, chewy, and saucy all at once. It felt hearty without being overwhelming, and honestly, I could’ve eaten the entire plate myself without sharing (though it’s definitely perfect for sharing, too). To top it off, the whole experience felt cozy and memorable. Eating these wraps next to the fire made it even better — warm food, warm atmosphere, and just pure comfort in every bite.

Waiter was wildly messing up the job. Biggest issue, our son has a severe dairy/egg allergy. It’s 3am and we are up with him right now dealing with this because he’s having a reaction and this restaurant is the only outside food he has had today. The waiter screwed up several items so I have a doubt on whether the allergy was properly communicated to cooks or not. My wife ordered an eggplant dish and was later told they were out so she re ordered, the waiter still left that on our bill and we had to ask for it to come off. We asked for an extra serving of vegetables to be added to one of the dishes and the waiter said he’ll do that. The dish arrived without the vegetables and the bill also didn’t reflect they had added it. We asked a question about what was on tap and he also didn’t know that, asked a question about the cider and never got an actual answer. The cider was the only time we’ve ever re-ordered a drink because it was so gross. Frustrating as we asked if it was sweet which is was insanely sweet. We still paid for the cider and didn’t ask to comp it. The food took almost 40 minutes, maybe that was because of the initial missing ingredients I don’t know. There were maybe 4 other couples in the seating area at that time. At one point I asked if what I had ordered was also dairy/egg free (in case my son would later want to try it) and the waiter responded “Yes” but then retracted it a few seconds later stating that there was egg in it, which lowered the confidence a bit more. The beef in my drunken noodles was good I will say which is a shame. This is probably a decent restaurant but the point of contact you have makes up the actual experience. I’ve had bad service at a few places and not cared to write a review. The fact we’re up dealing with this right now 3AM has put a damper on this trip and now made us wary of going out to eat in the future. We only go to places that actually advertise vegan options (like this restaurant) as that removes the allergens. It’s not like we were asking for a weird substitution to a dish or complicating orders. I assume it was cross contamination issue as we haven’t had to use an epi-pen just yet but we will see.

We had the most unforgettable experience at Wooden City celebrating Tori’s birthday. From start to finish, everything was extraordinary the food, the atmosphere, and the people who made it all feel so special. We sat at the chef’s table and got a front-row seat to the magic. Watching the team work in perfect harmony was like seeing a well-choreographed dance but with sizzling pans and beautiful plating. Their energy, focus, and love for the craft truly elevated the evening. The heirloom tomato salad was a burst of summer on a plate fresh, vibrant, and perfectly seasoned. The chicken schnitzel was golden, crispy perfection, while the pizza had that irresistible wood-fired crust with a depth of flavor you don’t forget. And the vegan tapioca dessert? Absolutely dreamy creamy, comforting, and innovative all at once. The staff went out of their way to make Tori’s birthday feel meaningful, and we left with full hearts (and full bellies). Thank you, Wooden City, for giving us a night to remember. We can’t wait to come back.

Do not miss this place for dinner if you are in Tacoma! I would even go to Tacoma to specifically check it out. I am no vegetarian, but the beet ravioli (as in beet the root) was delicious and unique, with loads of flavor from the goat cheese sauce and perfectly cooked pasta. The bone marrow was bursting with flavor, and the sherry add on to literally drink up the juices at the end was so yummy. Another standout was the burrata starter with a savory sage bread pudding and brown butter carrots and cranberries. The ambience is nice and stark modern. It is a quick walk from the Elks Lodge if you are staying there. Highly highly recommend. Service up at the bar was also stellar.

We had a delicious meal and the portions were large! The waitstaff is perfectly attentive. Even with it being a little chilly outside, eating in the outdoor tent wasn’t a problem because of the heaters. Great place to eat if you’re in town for a few days and looking for a nice meal.

Wow, what a delightful dining experience!!! Mmmmmmmm everything was so good! Our cocktails were delicious! The salad was so fresh and tangy, the wings were PERFECT and crispy, the scallops were so succulent and the risotto was creamy and heavenly 🤤 The pizza crust was the perfect balance of chewy and crispy, and the toppings were fresh and tasty. The dessert was a decadent finish we needed to complete the meal. Fabulous!! I can't wait to come back!!!

Lacey, WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! She was hands down one of the best experiences I've had at a restaurant/bar. She was extremely attentive and on top of her knowledge but it was due to her loving food... Lacey, you are a GEM! OKAY, now for the food, everything she recommended was A+ the Chefs seem to truly care about the quality of the food forsure. I also met great people with great energy. It was definitely a vibe. I literally went back the next day for the "Beet Ravioli" I am in LOVE with this dish. I also took home a veggie pizza, which had great flavor and was light and delicious. Really happy I found a new spot that I feel good about going to spend my money and time. The staff was amazing, from the host, to the staff who Also delivered our food. This was an unexpected very pleasant experience. Chose Wooden City for my birthday dinner this year. As recommended, we made a reservation and were seated promptly. Served was super attentive and kind. Started off with the bone marrow which I still can’t stop thinking about and also enjoyed the scallops and burger. Wasn’t able to order drinks this time but will def be back cause everything looks and sounds delicious!

From what I can tell, this was the most recommended dinner spot in Tacoma. It certainly lived up to the hype! Enjoyed bone marrow app and split a ceasar to start. Then had the lamb rigatoni. Super tasty food and cocktails. Definitely need a reservation on a weekend & even worth having one on a weeknight.

We have reservations for 7 pm , we arrive 25 minutes early. Today was a great day with Awesome customers service at the entrance and our server wax Ms, Sara H. She was very nice and lots of patience. Waiting for us to order. All her recommendations was great.Empanada Appetizer and Arancini . Great experience and our 2nd time to experience the Cucina Argentina. Love to go back and try their dessert!

This was my first time here. It was on a Sunday. It wasn’t busy. Parking is nuts, good luck. The place is small, but classy. I think they must rotate their menus. What I saw online was not the menu I received at the table. Their water is filtered. Their silverware and other items on the table are higher end. Tables and chairs are beautiful. The bathrooms are clean, unisex and private. The prices are a bit steep, but the food tasted great and the service was pretty decent. I would only be back for a special occasion.

We had a reservation and they were able to seat us slightly earlier! My first time here and the hostess was very welcoming. Our waiter gave us the time to look things over. I love that the menu isn’t overwhelming. Prices make sense for the quality of food they have here. We had an appetizer of empanadas. Very delicious! My boyfriend had the lamb and I had the mini mixta. Both were done amazing! I also added the shrimp which was worth it. We also had a side of fungi. It was too salty for our taste, but it was good nonetheless. The drinks were great with our dinner. We’d go back once we save more money!

Escquisit experience, grill flavor is second to none. Portion sizes were good, entrees came out quickly. Service was attentive as well.

02/07/2025: The two of us popped in around 530p on a Friday night. Bar looked pretty full, dining room less than half. Staff greeted us promptly and advised no seats available until a couple hours later and offered us bar seating. Waited about 10 minutes for bar seating. Staff still attentive and acknowledged that we were waiting for bar area. Once we were seated, we were given 3 menus (Happy Hour, Dinner, and Wine List). It was nice to see the HH menu offer smaller portions of their regular menu. I like to just have a small taste of different dishes without actually having an entire serving. We ordered a couple of drinks and the HH arancini (1 arancini) and sourdough (2 slices) to start then Cesar Salad (big enough to split), Oyster Mushrooms (enough for 2), Rib eye, and Steak Frites. Overall really great dining experience. We were very happy with the crew, who were nice, attentive, and prompt. You could tell they were aware of what was going on in the restaurant. Can't complain about the food, except the steak frites. The cut was really grisly and although good flavor made it difficult to eat. Rib eye cooked perfectly and on the leaner side. Total for 2 of us was $180. Will definitely visit again.

Early solo dinner on a Saturday was worth it. The olives were warm, oysters chilled, and steak perfectly cooked to medium well. And the creme brulee was sweet and creamy with the perfect sugar coating.

This place is great for any occasion!! Expect bold flavors that you’ll dream of later on! The chocolate hazelnut crepes for a dessert after a delicious steak is the perfect way to end your meal here! This review was made in connection with the Toast promotion

I really wanna give this place 5 stars. The food was great, the atmosphere was great, and the servers were very nice. However it seems due to staffing issues the servers were very busy and making minor mistakes. It is at no fault of their own. They were all working very hard and running around the restaurant the entire time. I ordered the ribeye and it was a great portion/ cooked perfectly to medium rare.

Food I would give 7/10. The apps we had were pretty solid (order the brie!!!) but the paella was somewhat lacking in flavor. Cocktails were pretty good (what you’d expect) but the service was pretty slow and the place was not very crowded. The food came out quickly and the person who took care of us was very friendly. Maybe would have ordered more if the service was faster.

I echo other reviewers - if I could give this place 10 stars, I would. Incredible wagyu burger and sweet potato fries (ordered mine with bacon and avocado), and the Alpine Meadows spirit-free beverage was the best mocktail I’ve ever had. Our group ordered a piece of the carrot cake and someone said “this is the best carrot cake I’ve ever had.” So, go here, you’ll leave with a happy stomach.

I am blown away by how delicious the food is! The staff were also very attentive and hospitable. We will be back, because the menu was loaded with great things to try and we felt very welcomed there. Pricing is very reasonable! I'm still raving about the food!

Best steak in town! High quality meat selection for the rib eye. Well worth the dinner plate. We always have excellent service and consistent flavoring and quality of our food items here. Nice atmosphere.

Delicious! This place is definitely worth it! We came here for a family dinner and did not disappoint. Our server was amazing too! He explained the menus perfectly and was very attentive. The food was delicious! I didn’t know where to start. The baked potatoes were delicious too. We enjoyed everything. Will definitely be coming back. We ordered the Delmonico Steak and it was delicious! A table favorite for sides was the cauliflower. Definitely recommend that it’s a perfect crisp and crunch. Overall 10/10 experience

Very interesting and fun dining experience. We got a family assortment of dishes to try with various side dishes and cuts of steaks. The steaks were very good and cooked precisely to order. The Waygu comes with its own stone fir you to heat it to your own preference. I would give this place five stars but marked down really only for sitting and atmosphere as for me there are nicer places with views or sitting environments given the price point here and what we ended up spending. The service was good and attentive. I will say I thought the ambiant noise and music level was a bit on the loud side at times and hard to hear conversation. Not overly intrusive but I've had better fine dining experiences with the background noise level. Overall, nice place and would recommend to give it a try as experiences may vary

Had a fantastic experience! Went for an anniversary dinner on a Sunday evening with a reservation, got in 30 mins early and that worked out perfect for us. First time dining and got a few recommendations on coming here and it did not disappoint. Everything we ordered was exceptional! Ordered the bone marrow, Australian wagu, one medium and another rare. Both cooked to perfection. Steaks come out on a hot stone and can be further seared. We each got a loaded baked potato and we were stuffed. Southern blush and old fashion(lots of whiskey options) were tasty drinks. We would come again! There's street parking and a small paid parking lot.

Great service, great food, great people. Australian Ribeye went toe to toe with my favorite steak of all time, the St. Elmo's Ribeye. I won't declare a winner, but it's darn close. Rico took very good care of me, and kept the meal pacing tight. He was very friendly and offered killer service. Cuerno Bravo is lucky to have him on staff. I tried the NA Old Fashioned (I'm a Teetotaler) because I've never had one. I didn't care for it because I didn't realize how bitter it was going to be. I'm super sensitive to bitter flavors so that's definitely a me problem. I have no doubt others would like that drink. Dessert concluded with a flan trio. I need to find out who I need to bribe to get that corn flan recipe because it was the best Flan I've had. Super unique and sweet with a hit of savory. Wish I could come back soon. Bravo.

The manager, Nick, and our server, Brandy, went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Even other staff members, Denzil and Bobby, came over to introduce themselves and greet us personally — a rare and refreshing touch. The star of the night was our 16oz Australian Ribeye — perfectly cooked, incredibly tender. While we were offered extra toppings, the steak was so delicious that it didn’t need a thing. We paired it with sautéed mushrooms and their loaded baked potato, both of which complemented the meal beautifully. Overall, Cuerno Bravo delivers not just a meal, but an experience. Exceptional food, outstanding service, and a genuine sense of hospitality make this a must-visit for anyone who appreciates a truly great steakhouse Not to miss!!!

If you've ever wanted to try some seriously good A5 Wagyu steak, this is the place to go. Their Wagyu filet mignon was easily the best steak I've had to date. Was it expensive? Sure, but you owe it to yourself to give upscale dining like this a try every now and again. I highly recommend ordering the bone marrow as an appetizer too, its the perfect amount of rich and buttery. Its also worth noting that their baked potatoes are massive, as in last time I went I just ordered that as an entree and was very full. Don't skip on the cocktail menu either, I can't find a drink on there thats not worth trying.

Went here last night for tye wifey and I anniversary. Parking was tough so make sure to give yourself ample time to find Parking. Wifey and I ordered the Australian wagyu ribeye. Steak was absolutely amazing and best I've tried ever. It's topped all other steak restaurants we've been to including high end steak restaurants in Vegas. Service - we felt our server was below par, we ordered drinks which took 25min to get to us, all for our server to bring us 1 drink and tell us it was the last one so... we ordered another drink which took another 25-30mun to get so we had to share tye only drink we had. We ordered a 3rd drink after getting our 2nd just to find 30min later that our server didn't put the order in for it. Not wanting to wait another 30min, we canceled the drink which we ended up getting charged for and had to wait longer at the end to get it taken off our bill. Overall Id still recommend eating here as the food is absolutely amazing. We're hoping that our service experience was a "one off" and do plan on going back when we can escape the kids =). Will update again once we go back.

Went for my 3rd anniversary and must say PePe and crew did a phenomenal job. Service was outstanding and the food equally as pleasing. Every little detail to the names on the menu was truly appreciated and unexpected. Easily top 3 dining experiences of my life. Definitely have a lifetime customer. Thank you!!!!!

Everything about this place screamed fancy, the ribeye was delicious, i recommend gettimg thr truffle butter with it for sure! Very nice place the only thing I didnt like about it is how expensive it is. I could've gone to a different steak house and ordered 2 of their most expensive steaks and paid less. If you dont have a problem with money I definitely recommend, but if you are on a budget I would say to go to a different place.

Three words - best service ever! Before visiting the restaurant I was already aware of everyone’s comments about the excellent service, but our server Toshi’s attention to detail has given us an unforgettable dining experience. She was very knowledgable about the menu and gave great recommendations. Food-wise it was great too. Aside from the usual items like steak, we also tried the scallop and the newer entree duck and both were great. The photos don’t do the restaurant justice - it was quite dark inside so not good for photo taking, but the vibe is very different from any other places we went to.

AMAZING! My husband and I dined here Saturday for a 6:30pm reservation. I loved that as soon as you walk in you are greeted with a smile and service! We got there a little early so we sat in the lounge and it was beautiful. We then were guided to our table and the atmosphere was beautiful. Pianist playing, pretty full restaurant but didn’t feel stuffed. Our server Monica was attentive and i loved her personality! As it was our first time here she made us feel welcome and made it easy for us to want to come back! Food was phenomenal, cooked perfectly, and worth the price! This is the first place i’ve ever had filet mignon that melted in my mouth! Dessert, get the banana bread pudding! Hosts, servers, everyone did amazing!

Walking into El Gaucho Tacoma feels fancy but not stiff. Dim lights, a live pianist, folks dressed sharp but not overly formal. There’s energy without being over the top—good place to treat yourself but also relaxed enough you don’t feel super out of place. ⸻ The Bread If you love warm bread, this one’s almost perfect. The basket comes out glowing, crusty on the outside, soft inside. Great for starting off—ideal for slathering butter or soaking up sauce. Only small gripe: it disappears fast. You’ll want more, especially if you’re sharing appetizers or waiting for your steak. ⸻ The Tableside Caesar Salad This is fun. They bring it to your table and do the whole Caesar ritual: mixing, tossing, the works. The romaine is crisp, croutons give a crunch, cheese is good. The dressing is rich—classic Caesar style. If you like lighter salads, by halfway through you might wish the dressing was a bit more mellow. But honestly, it’s satisfying, especially after the bread and before the steak. ⸻ The Filet This is where things shine. The filet melts in your mouth if you get it cooked right (medium-rare is the sweet spot). You taste that high quality beef; the seasoning and sides don’t overshadow it. If anything, it’s pricey — you’re paying for the experience as much as the food. Also, portions are good, but don’t expect a giant slab. You’ll want the sides or sauce to round out the meal. ⸻ Overall Feel If you had to sum it up: El Gaucho’s filet dinner is a treat. The bread and Caesar salad are solid warm-ups. This was my husband and my first time and it was amazing! Candace was our server and she was outstanding!! Gave a bunch of good recommendations as well. The smile that she brings is so beautiful! I really enjoyed my time at Katie Downs Waterfront Tavern. The beer selection was great. We ordered a few together with some onion rings and curly fries. It was a real treat. The service was friendly and funny. When we received our drinks, he made a joke that made us all laugh. I recommend this place for anyone looking for a refreshing seaside drink.

Took my cousin here for part of her Bachelorette weekend. All of us loved our food. It was so lovely sitting on the deck next to the water. Our waiter gave us amazing tips on what to order and what I consider "inside customizations" to menu items to make them even better. We would definitely go back!!

Fries were delicious best fries I have ever tried and the ranch bomb !!! The deep dish pizza was nice and cheesy! I recommend oh yea and the view of the water was phenomenal!!! Also cannot forgot about the friendly staff!

Great prices, great vibes, and a great view! We stopped here on a whim after our pottery session on a Saturday evening. We were quickly seated by the water and the service was friendly and efficient! I am a BIG fan of their garlic bread. We had so much fun chatting, watching the water, and enjoying very decent happy hour snacks. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for a casual place to have a drink by the water!

Had the chowder and a cobb salad subbed out chicken for the cod. Salad was good and massive. The chowder needed something it was just okay. Weird to get ID'ed when walking in to eat food not when ordering a drink.

Great place to get all types of Asian food. Everything we got was super tasty. The surface was great! Lots of flavors and great enough spice. Definitely a great place to eat family style and share plates. I highly recommend and would come back.

Went with girlfriends and shared plates - a combination of appetizers and an entree. Plenty of food with leftovers as well. Some dishes were salty for my personal taste, but I don't like salt at all, so take that, well, with a grain of salt! It was still very fresh, flavorful and enjoyable. Green beans seasoning was VERY good. Service was very nice - friendly, prompt. I do wish they offered a 20% choice on the preset tips (18, 22 and 25 are offered).

We came in with a large group and they were so accommodating! I know how difficult it can be to accommodate larger groups, especially without a reservation. The food was absolutely amazing, the cocktails were delicious, and the waiter Wesley was such a good host. I got the pad Thai and it was such a large portion I wasn't able to eat all of it, and my husband got the katsu curry. The pad Thai was sweet, but not overly so. The sauce was delicious, and the designs of everyone's plates was just beautiful. We will absolutely be coming back again, the next time we are in town.

Superior service, delicious food, clean establishment. In 39 years of life, this was the best service I have ever witnessed much less recieved. We went here 8/16/25 for dinner for my daughter's 13th birthday. 7 of us (2 adults and 5 kids aged 8-16) we have 2 particularly picky eaters and our server was so amazing. She gave them individual attention and helped them find and adjust menu items so they would have something they enjoyed. Really went the extra mile for everyone in our party. The food tasted fresh and clean and looked amazing. They even brought out a wonderful arrangement of mango roses and coconut ice cream with a candle and sang happy birthday! They also brought our other kids ice cream when they had puppy eyes about the birthday girls treat. Everything about this place was amazing. We had spring rolls, bahn mi, pad thai, teriyaki chicken, chicken katsu with curry (on the side per the picky eater #1) we ate her curry and wow, yum! And a fried tofu dish for picky vegetarian eater #2. We love this place now that we have been.

This place is really a hidden gem. My husband and I went here for the first time a few weeks ago. We were seated almost immediately and given samplers of the meats to try. The food came out quickly and was fantastic. I highly recommend and will be going back very soon.

Tried this place after my Niece saw a TikTok review. When we arrived we were surprised to see it was a place we’d driven by a million times but never even noticed it. Because it was our first time there the waitress brought out a small sample of each meat they offered for everyone at the table and it was the perfect gesture as all of us need up ordering their large combo. The decor theme was so cute and interesting. With the background music it really felt like you were on a mini vacation. Service was great, food was perfectly flavored and this place is truly a hidden gem.

Such a fun experience. The service was amazing, so friendly and accommodating to whatever we had need for. Food was fresh and delicious. Cool place, convinced me to try something new, so I ordered the spicy tuna poke bowl/plate lol. I don’t care for seafood but whatever they did to that tuna, amazing (chef’s kiss)! Also, prices were a relief. The chef brought more things for us to try. I appreciated the way they took good care of us. They went above and beyond what normal services would offer. We’ll be back for drinks! (I’ve heard so many good things about their Hawaiian-themed drinks.) This place is a hidden gem.

Definitely agree with other reviewers: this restaurant is a hidden gem that should not be overlooked! From the moment we entered for a post-graduation lunch, the owner was gracious, responsive, kind and upbeat. We were treated to samples of the different proteins available, our graduate was given a beautiful lei, and we even received dessert samples, all offered at no charge. The dishes were fantastic and highly authentic, taking me back to my last visit to Maui with every bite. My wife stated of the mac salad was "this is my Hawaiian grandmother's recipe exactly!" and was almost in tears from the memories it evoked. The decor may seem a touch over-the-top to those more accustomed to IKEA-esque minimalist restaurant settings, but we found it charming, whimsical and engaging, stopping just shy of being distracting during mealtime conversations. All in all, a wonderful meal and experience that was only heightened by the lovely owner's efforts to make our special day even better. I highly recommend Da Tiki Hut and plan to return very soon!

Great experience. Our bartender was charming & fun. The food was delicious. We got the lumpia, various spam masubi, & moco loco. Overall, great time! One person on our group said this was one of the best experiences they have had. We definitely enjoyed ourselves.

Food was okay, but the portions were EXTREMELY small. We ordered the Kalua pork and tiki chicken as “large” plates, and what we received looked more like kids’ portions. Spent over $50 and still left hungry. For the price, the value just isn’t there.

Finally got the chance to try howdy bagels! Honestly so worth the hype, we got the rosemary salt bagels and it was one of the best I’ve ever had. Crunchy and soft with the perfect amount of salt (for salt lovers). There absolutely will be quite a long line so be prepared. The indoor is decorated in a perfect western/hipster theme. Prices are fairly typical. We got the sausage egg and cheese add ago and it had a delicious aioli on it. We also did the avo boast which was great for vegetarians! Iced vanilla latte was surprisingly good but quite small for a medium. I’ll definitely be back when I’m in town! Be warned: there is very little seating inside, only a few tables which were completely full with their own lines by opening.

Howdy Bagel is one of the top breakfast places in Tacoma. There is usually a line to wait in but I have never regretted the wait. They are incredibly fast at making orders and the staff is always friendly. The interior is so cute and the merch is top tier. The only downside is there is not much seating available because it is so busy.

My first time at Howdy Bagel and now I understand the hype! I’ve always seen the line out the door and finally had to try it for myself. Definitely worth the wait. I asked what their most popular item was, and the staff recommended the “Lox in the Box” — and wow. Everything about it was perfect: the taste, the presentation, the freshness. Can’t wait to come back and try more!

I tried Howdy Bagel for the first time and it was good! We went at 9AM and the line was out the door but the wait wasn’t too long. We waited about 30 minutes before ordering. I drove by around 12pm and the line was still out the door. So be wary that you’ll have to wait a while. The interior was beautifully decorated and there were plenty of options on the menu. They had merch for sale, coffee, bagels and cookies. I got the sausage, egg, and cheese everything bagel and it was good. My friend got the bacon, egg and cheese but they gave her a sausage one. I would recommend double checking your order before you leave. As they are so busy, I don’t blame them for messing up her order. A bagel runs around $12 for one. I have yet to find a bagel spot in Tacoma so I will be going to this one whenever I am craving one!

Such a cute hidden gem in the area. I tried the Lox in the Box and Grit City Lox—it looked amazing, and tasted great. Grabbed a couple of different cream cheeses and handmade bagels to go, and they were all good. They also have cute merch that adds to the charm. Would definitely go back if I'm in the area. They stop making hot sandwiches at 2pm.

Mind blowing bagels! I got a pastarami egg and cheese and it was terrific! Coffee is great too. They use Olympia coffee and drinks are spot on.

08/09/25 6:45pm reservation We came in tonight for our 5th anniversary. Greeted at the host stand about 20 feet from the door, I scanned to find who was welcoming us. With a bright smile the host received our reservation and wished us a happy anniversary. A few mins later we are notified our seat is ready by another team member who wished us a happy anniversary. As we sat and enjoyed the scenery we waited For our server to come by as we looked over the cocktail menu and food options. The dining room was already quite full as they were in prime dinner service, our waiter took our drink and appetizer orders but seemed to be a bit nervous, undivided or new as she stumbled over her words a few times. It took a little over 10 mins to get our drinks because the bartender was solo and backed up, I appreciate our server letting us know twice that it would be a little longer. We received some delicious focaccia bread as we waited for our drinks. An hour later we finally got our appetizer sampler plate, the server came by two times apologizing for the delay but the kitchen was backed up. Notably it was a busy service and things seemed rocky but we are understanding patrons. The placed our food order the first time our server returned to tell us the apps were going to be a little longer. We received our food 13 mins prior to our apps. Everything was so delicious. Sampler plate: Bao-3/5 steak was a bit chewy but the onions are fantastic. Coconut prawns-4. 5/5 very tasty and the sauce was great Crab dip- excellent! But I'll ask for focaccia bread instead of crostinis * Pine nut crusted shrimp and lobster alfredo 4/5 I appreciate the chef taking the consideration to prepare this dish without nuts for us as my partner has a nut allergy. Everything was great but the sauce was sort of broken and very thin not sticking to the noodles. Trio sampler plate- 3.5./5 tonight. The shrimp were over grilled and nearly burnt on some pieces, the carrots were practily dry and over cooked to a crispy and VERY salty. The potatoes and salmon and beans were nice though my partner recommended whipped potatoes to go for that more upscare feel. She also got the crab bearnaise which I thought was fantastic. I loved the fried capers! We had the impresso martini and the dessert espresso drink as well. Both 5/5 Spicy Prickly pear Marg 5/5 10 year port 5/5 can't wait to try the others Focaccia bread 5/5 Creme brulee was 5/5 perfect! So great All in all a great experience, we would come again. 2 people, 2 drinks, 1 app, 2 entrees and 2 dessert rounded out $200 before tip.

Had such a great time here! The food was really good, the service was great, and the whole vibe was calm but still super fun and engaging. It’s the kind of place that just makes you feel good being there. Huge shoutout to Haley, the hostess — she was amazing! So sweet, professional, and welcoming. She honestly made it feel like we were walking into someone’s home instead of just a restaurant. You can tell she really cares about people having a good experience.

Awesome view! We visited this restaurant on Father’s Day 2025. We had a set menu - choose 3 items for a set price. Loved the variety of items listed on the FR menu…from seafood to beef to chicken. We ordered additional starters - fried calamari and savory burrata & prosciutto. We ordered two bottles of local Chateau St Michelle wine - yum. We begun our 3 course meal with Cesar salad; peas salad; lobster bisque; clam chowder. 2nd Course - OVEN-ROASTED CHICKEN DIJON; GRILLED SEAFOOD TRIO; ALMOND CRUSTED SEA SCALLOPS; BEEF SIRLOIN. 3rd Course Dessert - Key Lime Pies (nope); Crème Brûlée (YUM); NY Styled Cheesecake (yum). I got it was a busy night but with a set menu, there should be top service AND food. One of the dishes were missing a sauce, some sauces were not hot/warm & some presentation was iffy. There wine was not properly served and poured. Overall, I would return to try the regular menu.

Hubby and I came for a special occasion dinner and we were not disappointed! The food was excellent! We shared some of the Lobster Bisque: so creamy, yum! My Filet Mignon was grilled perfectly and my husbands Almond Crusted Sea Scallops were delicious! What made the night truly special was our waitress, Kristi! She was attentive, efficient and we could really tell knew the menu inside and out; and she had such an amazing personality too! It was so refreshing to have a server that you could joke around with a bit! She really made our night!

It’s was ok, good view, good service, I think we came in the wrong day we didn’t know that special day have only few option to eat and the amount of food it’s small. But everything tasted good. A little bit pricey for what it is. Good thing have a cover parking under the restaurant.

Celebrated my wife’s birthday. First time there and our steaks were cooked perfectly. Amanda was our server and every question we had she answered. She recommended red wine that pared wonderfully with ours steaks. Definitely will be back to explore other items on the menu. Great experience.

The happy hour specials drew a large crowd so it was very busy. The happy hour tacos and nachos were good tho it seemed everything including the complimentary salsa was quite spicy. I had a mezcal margarita that was delicious andy friends enjoyed the watermelon marg. My only complaints were that our food came before we had even received drinks and that soda water cost the same as an actual soda!

Great service and great food! I loved my enchiladas so it was flavorful and fresh! The only downside was the nachos. Wasn’t a huge fan of it but we got it during happy hour so it was discounted which was nice! The meat we ordered was chicken and was slightly dry for me. My suggestion would be instead of melting cheese on the chips make a cheese sauce! Would make this amazing! Ordered the mojito and it was alright!

Went for happy hour, and got all the yummy margs! Drinks are plentiful and delicious. Not the bestest margaritas but they’ll do! Didn’t get a pic of all our drinks because we were thirsty, and they were chilled to perfection. Got the dip flight appetizer and it was wonderful! Must order are the quesobarria tacos!!! They come in a plate of three standalone!! They’re cooked perfectly crispy on the outside with melted cheese inside! Staff and service were great! Super friendly and very attentive to our beverage needs! Only complaint, as it gets busy, it does get loud in the space. I was feeling like I had to speak louder than normal so my friends would hear me.

Matador has never disappointed us. Happy hour is everyday from 4PM to 6Pm and 10PM to close. Lunch visit for us today. They have an excellent "Mix and Match" lunch special for only $16. Had good-sized portions, and I was very pleased. Outdoor seating available. Along with normal table seating inside, you also have bar seating and a large round table that has a fire pit in the middle. Very cool atmosphere.

We had a great experience here! The food was excellent we ordered the fajitas, and they came out hot, well seasoned, and in generous portions. Everything tasted fresh and high quality. The service was friendly and very attentive without ever feeling rushed. The restaurant also has a great moody, cozy vibe that makes it perfect for a chill lunch or dinner. Definitely a spot I’d come back to again!

A reliably consistent, excellent date night. We tried some new dishes and drinks with the help of our server. All were delicious. Service was timely, appies and mains delicious. Dessert (fried ice cream) was meh. We’ll skip dessert next time and happy with appies and mains. Still our favorite place.

The giant mason jars filled with sweet tea or lemonade with fresh fruit are so delicious. There just isn’t a way to get around wanting to order far more items than you can eat in one sitting! 🍳 🤤 If you don’t have room for dessert take something home with you. Bread pudding, peach cobbler, sweet potato pie… 🥧 All homemade with love. SO good! You’ll be welcomed in and made to feel right at home here. (Be aware that they are popular so if you go at peak times be patient.) Fresh food sourced as locally as possible. (Obviously catfish has to be sourced from Louisiana.) This Is like sitting down in your southern Nana’s home for a delicious meal and a warm hug. You will leave happier and definitely much more full than you came in. ☺️ Don’t hesitate! Oh my goodness- if you have never been here- get here now! This place is so homey and welcoming- I chose Southern Kitchen for my birthday dinner tonight and it was so so good! Let me start with our amazing server, he was awesome, friendly, always making sure we were doing good- I happened to get his personal favorite the Texas BBQ brisket and I can see why had macaroni and cheese with buttered corned as my sides and oooo my that corn cake topping it off with a blackberry lemonade. Since it was my birthday he gave me a bread pudding on the house! My husband had the catfish and my daughter had the fried chicken. I will choose this restaurant to celebrate my birthday every year! Thank you Southern Kitchen for a wonderful meal and for being wonderful! I am so full still and have plenty of leftovers! Your restaurant and staff are top notch in my opinion ❤️

After moving from CA and missing our soul food place Dulans we have FINALLY come to an authentic soul food restaurant. We were not disappointed and can’t wait to come back and try more. Try the sweet tea, Mac and cheese and the candied yams. 😋 the food came out hot and fresh. The music and service just made our visit that much better.

Country cookin like it is meant to be... Everyone says they have Southern recipes and flavor... Soul Kitchen actually does. We were on vacation to the North West and just used Google map to find our dinner. Might as well been in Alabama. YES it is soul food... so good.

What a hidden gem. Great service, food, and atmosphere. First, find the small pink building in the small lot that needs work. Then enter the blue door into a blaze of color, soul color, that just brings life into a burst of joy. Take your seat and find your way through the menu. Like lemonade? Like strawberries? Love creamy and rich whipped cream? Put the three together for a mouthgasm. Sooo good! Then on the food. Excellent and bountiful portions. And the sides are plenty to pick from. Grab a main, and if you like brisket dive into a plate of mouth watering tender heaven. Collard greens are lively with flavor. And the service, was fantastic. Friendly and attentive. Two people, drinks and entree was $65. And we had leftovers. I couldn't finish it all. Go and enjoy!

Last night I arrived and ordered our food around 7pm. Spent $46 on a fry chicken platter with two sides with yam and Mac. I also got a lemonade and fried chicken sandwich. The sides were small. I asked the guy if it automatically comes with cornbread he said yes. When I arrived home and unpack my food not only were the portions small but the cornbread was missing !!!!! That’s literally what I really came to try. Are you kidding me ?! Besides that the yams tasted and smelled like it was sitting in the kitchen. I’m not sure how to describe it. It’s like you can taste the smell of the environment if that makes sense. I didn’t like that and my 6 year old who loves yams didn’t even want them off my plate lol. The chicken wasn’t as flavorful as I thought and the breast or thigh they gave me wasn’t really all the way done cooking. Maybe because I’m a chef the food wasn’t impressive to me. But if you don’t know anything about real soul food you would like it. More seasoning and the chicken needs to be done, bigger portions for the price is needed and whatever or however the yams are being stored or if they were old.. something needs to be done and make sure the people get their CORNBREAD for take out !!!!Thank you. I’d probably try again in a year on a drunk night. Besides all that food took about 30mins. BEST THING FROM MY ORDER WAS THAT DAMN STRAWBERRY LEMONADE. If you look at the dine in plate sizes to mine.. you could see a difference. Don’t do that to people we spending our hard earned working money on your place of business, especially in this economy with inflation at all time high. Please put some respect on our dollars spent. I love a brunch place that does the classic dishes with a twist, and this is that place. The eggs Benedict I ordered were called like Bawg eggs Benedict? They were layered with collard greens and like, a pulled pork and so good. My husband's breakfast came with a biscuit and that was great too and we liked how the portion sizes fit the prices. The menu seems to change because the pictures I saw online are slightly different from what we got. Like the ube pancakes were nowhere in the menu, but everything sounded and looked great! Only gave it 4 stars since after plates arrived, we weren't checked on. We totally get it, our server was busy busting out all these fancy looking drinks. He was super nice and attentive before that though. We will definitely be back to try something else. And also, get the bignets. We didn't because of not being checked on after and we needed to leave but we saw everyone else getting a bag to go and we regret not having more time to try some.

We found our new favorite place. We’ve been here four times now. As it’s been mentioned in other reviews, they have their regular menu, but then they also have a special menu they change every 3 months. The first time we were here, it was a Brazilian theme. Everything was excellent! Their latest theme is New Orleans, LA. My 15 year old son is the true test. He loves everything he’s ordered. He even said it’s the best hot chocolate he’s ever had. For the latest menu, we have tried it all. All of it is sensational!! My husband loves the Cook’s Old Fashion to drink. I love their espresso martini. Last night we had the Bourbon Street Blackened Bird, Zephyr’s Ziti, Big Al’s Pork Tenderloin, and one of their staples, The Grilled Hanger Steak. If you’re looking for a new place to try, this is a great place! We always get wonderful service by the staff! Thank you!!

Fun and busy hometown eatery. We weren't sure what to expect but my graduate wanted to try it before leaving Tacoma. Super glad we did. The lowdown... not a lot of menu options, but what they have is served farm to table fresh, well prepared. And portions are fantastic! Go hungry or share plates. The banana foster was excellent and the portion was impressive. Definitely get a bag of beignets on the side or to take home. Truly delicious. Even my hungriest of husbands and adult kid were challenged to finish, but love leftovers. The wait was long but it was mother's day and graduation day for UPS. Double whammy. We scored 4 seats at the bar, and the bartender was great. And yes, he had excellent hearing. A perk or a curse??? Lol!!! We really enjoyed our time and breakfast.

This place has excellent food, service and ambiance. We had the Cooks Deluxe BBQ Bacon burger, a bag of beignets and a Brazilian Chimichurri Steak. Everything was cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious. There was a small wait for a table however service was very prompt and attentive once seated. Give them a chance, they're absolutely worth the wait! Their rotating seasonal menu with unique dishes is a good incentive to visit regularly! :)

My husband and I had breakfast today, but have eaten here many times. Their food is always delicious and we enjoy trying something new especially when they have their specials. Currently they are featuring specials with Jamaican flavors. I did have their usual Breakfast Sandwich: fried eggs, bacon, sharp cheddar, caramelized onion jam and tomato on a telera roll. My husband ordered from their Jamaican special the Rasta Bowl: roasted sweet potatoes sautéed with red bell peppers, kale, onions, butter beans served over coconut rice with a pair of egged, cilantro and pickled red onions. They serve large quantities of food for a reasonable price. If you haven’t been there, it’s a must try!

This is one of our favorite restaurants for breakfast or lunch, we are definitely regulars! The servers are so friendly and the atmosphere is so vibey. Gets busy on weekends around ~10 so you may need to wait but it’s so worth it. Part of the menu changes monthly to accommodate a new theme (right now is New Orleans) but our faves are always constant. We always get either the forager’s omelette or clean up on aisle 12 with chorizo. The pancakes are also great! Will definitely keep coming back ❤️

Today, I had a doctor appointment with the surgeon who performed rotator cuff surgery on me in December 2024. It resulted in an NSAID shot which I hope will stop the non-stop pain, which began immediately after I started resistance band exercises as part of my PT. Ray also had a doctor appointment in Tacoma but ours were a few hours apart. After I was finished it was off to find breakfast. Today was Cook’s Tavern. After a beautiful drive down Alder St., taking us on the backside of the University of Puget Sound, we arrived at Cook’s, which does not look like your typical tavern at all. We got lucky and pulled into a parking spot which was being vacated as we arrived. There are not a lot of available parking places. I did not see a dedicated lot anywhere. The outside of Cook’s is beautiful with hanging baskets of flowers, and a garden of lavender. The only blight was a gigantic tansy, which is a noxious weed, toxic to livestock, and a constant battle to keep off on our ranch. We were greeted, immediately seated, and provided with menus. Ray went to the restroom, came out and said wasn’t sure he had entered the correct bathroom. He nearly walked into a female angel statue just inside the door of the men’s restroom. He was the 3rd male with the same encounter today. After much deliberation I decided on the chicken and waffle. Ray chose Pigs in the Orchard with a house made biscuit. We both had coffee which was very good. Our breakfasts arrived hot and definitely made to order. This time I got pictures before either of us began eating. My chicken was lightly battered, hot, and crispy. The waffle had bacon pieces in it and came with real maple syrup. Both were divine. Ray’s breakfast was loaded with ham, herbs, spices and gooey goat cheese. The smashed red potatoes were crispy and had great seasoning. The homemade biscuit was just like mine; a hard hockey puck. One of the cool things about the restaurant was the open window. Unfortunately, a lot of diesel trucks drive up and down 26th as well as Alder. More than once we were hit with eau de exhaust which is why I gave the atmosphere a 4. The exhaust definitely changed the air quality inside and taste of our food. The fresh air was nice when we weren’t smelling diesel exhaust.

Primo Grill is a very classy, yet relaxed restaurant. I absolutely loved the decor and vibe of the place. We were greeted right away. We had a reservation but I did see that people could walk-in and get sat as well. They offer gluten-free noodles and I highly recommend the shrimp scampi with those noodles (PHENOMENAL)! The service was incredible. If you save room for dessert, the bourbon chocolate cake is where it’s at (also gluten free and delicious). Overall a truly great experience and definitely worth the stop. Fair warning - dishes are $17 or so and up but still worth it in my opinion. This would be the perfect place for a date. As far as parking, they don’t have a designated parking lot but there is parking available on the street around the building and surrounding area.

Everyone’s dishes were phenomenal. I ordered the Moroccan Chicken which was cooked to perfection and served with an excellent lemon based sauce and veggies. The atmosphere had the perfect ambiance for the occasion and service that was equally amazing. The sticky toffee pudding was a perfect dessert to end the night and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone interested.

Everything we ate was delicious! Highly recommend the fried cauliflower + pita & sauces and the lamb chops.The customer service is top tier. Our server went out of her way to confirm the lamb chops were halal and she packed extra sauce when boxing up our leftovers (a true love language). The atmosphere is simple, yet classy. They have their garage doors open on nice summer days and every table has a candle on it. Perfect for large groups or date night. We will be back!

Hands down the BEST restaurant around. The food was cooked to perfection! Almost unbelievably well. So much so my husband personally went and thanked the chef for how well his pork chop was cooked, seasoned, the overall flavors for the dishes... He went on and on about this being the FIRST RESTAURANT EVER that made a pork chop correctly. Perfectly. Melts in the mouth with perfect flavor.... The calamari, that was the other dish that blew him away. He never thought he would like calamari that wasn't breaded... Until he tried this one. Yet again he was blown away. Loved it. I really enjoyed the homemade stuffed raviolis with a corn filling. Super good. Drinks were awesome! This is now on our list of DEFINITELY RETURN ASAP.. next time we are in that area of Tacoma we will be dropping in for a meal. Last but not least... The service was GREAT!! loved our waitress. Very attentive, explained everything we had questions about perfectly. The drink recommendation was spot on. I always LOVE waitresses and waiters that you can trust.. I'm in the mood for this I'm leaving it up to you .. and they knock it out of the park. You can absolutely trust your server here to try new things you may not be so brave to do at other places... They know their menu 💯. I hope this helps anyone trying to find a great restaurant, perfect environment, awesome servers, and DELICIOUS FOOD!!! (Be prepared to be STUFFED! 😉)... The person who took my order was very kind, other than that absolutely horrible. Pasta was not cooked all the way. Asparagus in our appetizer not cooked or seasoned, whole dish was trash honestly. Ordered 2 ravioli dishes, they both came with 6 ravioli each!! I was billed $110 for this. A addition almost $8 togo fee AND a 10% tip for what!!! I hardly ever post reviews but.. NEVER AGAIN.. Do better!!!

The food has been spot on. Chef and kitchen are amazing. Bartenders get it right every time Seth has made us feel like the only guest in a full house. This is a hidden gem.

One of our favorite restaurants for sure. The mussels in the curry sauce is a unique dish that is a must have (especially with their house made focaccia for dipping). With the fresh ingredients and the superb execution of their preparation, I really haven’t had anything that I didn’t love.

Went out with my cousins to ThEKOI in Tacoma last night, and once again, it did not disappoint! This was my third time dining here, and I even drove 50 minutes just to come back — that’s how good it is. Koi Sushi is one of my favorite sushi spots. The sashimi was incredibly fresh and delicious, and the quality is consistently excellent. The atmosphere is welcoming, and the service is always great. If you're a sushi lover, it's definitely worth the trip! FYI, public parking are inside Marriott hotel Lot A!

The fact that this place is within a stones throw from the hotel helps make it an easy choice - the fact that it is delicious is why I ate here for almost every meal on this work trip. Tako Yaki (Deep fried octopus dumplings) and bento box for lunch. Dinner bento box, ramen, tempura fried brussel sprouts, had some potstickers in there too. Would order anything again.

We came here for a private party and had a great time. The food was excellent! I sampled several rolls including the salmon carpaccio with truffle infused sauce - very inventive! Robust sake list as well. Our server did a great job managing the table. Will come again! Olympic Otter

We came in for my youngest son's 18th birthday and I was floored by the stellar service! It was the first visit for four out of five of us. Details like the signed birthday card, the rose petals, and the delicious slice of cake were perfect and so special! Thank you SO much! And of course, the food was scrumptious and the atmosphere delightful!

I ordered some sushi for delivery to a local hotel and wow!!! I am from the LA area and eat sushi quite often but wow this was absolutely incredible!! Really really good sushi. I had the salmon avocado roll and the killer salmon roll which was phenomenal.

I’m no sushi connoisseur but I thought what we ordered was extremely good. We had the Sexy Edamame, Gyoza, the Snow-maggedon Roll, the Ultimate Dragon Roll, the Las Vegas Roll and two Sake Intro Flights. Mara, our server, was just the best! She was friendly and very knowledgeable about not just the food but also the sake. Every employee we encountered was very nice. We made reservations for a Tuesday evening and was glad we did as it got very busy.

We reserved the party room in the back for our 10 person party to celebrate my oldest's high school graduation. It was nice and quiet with a serene atmosphere. I've eaten take out and dine in here before and I'm never disappointed.

Let's start with the great and work our way down. First, the food is phenomenal, like really really good, I had an amazing dish, not even sure what it was called and a sweet naan bread both were to die for. My wife had the most creamy curry I have ever had and it was full of flavor. In the middle of the road side was the service, it wasn't bad, it wasn't great. The guy seemed bored at his job, but I get it we were there pretty late in the evening, no harm done. On the bad side is the decor. This place seriously needs a renovation. It feels very stereotypical, and also a little grungy. I would just recommend a spruce up to make the place feel like it wasn't a caricature of Indian culture Still, will definitely be back, I understand they do a weekday buffet and I would love to do that!

Recently renovated! The inside is gorgeous, the booths spacious and very comfortable even when I plopped down in it on accident. The food was heavenly. We got chicken kabobs (the sauce was soo good), the appetizers came with soup/rice and the soup was the best lentil soup I've ever had, homemade cheese tikka masala kept warm over little candles, naan, goat curry, and ginger ice cream that was soooo creamy!! Sorry I didn't think to take pics until I already started eating everything. New favorite place to eat. With drinks and after 20% tip it was under $100

I have not found Indian food in Tacoma that blows my socks off, most spots are just bad. Gateway to India is the exception and has become my go to Indian restaurant if I don't want to drive to Seattle. They, frankly, are pretty good. They have a good menu with plenty of choices to please anyone and they're execution is good. My roommate, who lived with an Indian cook on the east coast, doesn't care for their biriani so he usually goes for the tandoori dishes. I've never seen more than a few tables taken every time I've been in which tells me Tacoma doesn't know what it's missing. After 3 years in Tacoma there are almost no restaurants I frequent, this however is one of them.

I see the sentiment of rats, flies etc in other reviews. But i think mostly changed now. What has changed? Excellent management, friendly staff, good food. What needs to change: make booths bigger and comfortable, throw away old stuff, clean , clean. We saw a spider come down on our table. But overall nice place

I still haven't found better Indian food outside of India. Fantastic. Best in the PNW!

Got takeout from here yesterday. I picked it up in person. The staff was nice and had my order ready when I arrived. The food was a bit more expensive than I would have liked, but it was delicious. My whole family enjoyed it and we will be ordering from here again.

I know they were busy, but we had to wait 45 min to 1 hour and two water refills for them to just take our order. Food was good but not anything unusual. Mango lassi was great!

I've been coming here for years and the quality continues to exceed my expectations. How is that possible?! The owners are two of the most heart-centered, caring people I've had the blessing of knowing. They love their restaurant, community, food and service to others. If I could only eat at one place in Tacoma, it would be Melonseed deli. From my previous carnivore taste to my now vegetarian exploration, they offer it all. Highly recommend!! Plus the music is always on point - one can't help but feel relaxed and joyful in this space.

One word. Delicious. I had the Baha Veggie sandwich. it’s served warm on two small buns. I’m hooked already. My wife had the caprese sandwich and she liked it. It’s informal but comfortable seating. The service was very welcoming and warm. Great place.

What a fun place. Staffed with friendly, welcoming people. They made me a delicious frozen yogurt treat with fresh strawberries and house made whipped cream. Their menu looked pretty tempting with sandwiches and more.

This restaurant has been a long time favorite of mine!! The quality of their food has always been top of the line and the owners are deeply kind and caring people. Supporting small businesses is so important and did I mention the food is divine! Hits the spot every time. Bonus for vegetarians- they have top of the line options. No need to worry about picking from 1-2 bland options.

If you haven’t been to this place you’re missing out! This place has extremely flavorful food and frozen yogurt. My daughter had an Italian slider and I had the Chicken Caesar salad and it was absolutely delicious. The ingredients taste fresh & they give fairly large portions of food so you will definitely be full and have some for later. You can tell they love what they do by how they treat every customer and willing to answer any questions or make suggestions. I will be back to try more food on their menu. If you’re in this area check it out. You won’t regret it.

How did I not know about this wonderful gem?! From the entrance, u can just feel the good energy from the employees. The food is AMAZING! (under statement!!) I got the chicken caesar salad & chicken caesar slider. Oooohmygaaawd it was sooooo 💣 💣 💯!! But wat was really impressive was that I saw everyone behind the counter & in the kitchen constantly wiping down counters and putting on or changing gloves. Even though they were concentrating on making orders, they had such an upbeat energy. The lady greeting everyone was very welcoming, even offering fro-yo samples!! I went there a lil bit before closing, but their energy was as if they just started their day. I can't say enough about this place! Go check it out for yourselves, yall can thank me later!! And you WILL love the whole experience!

Incredible and fresh food with such good vibes! We love coming here all summer long. Every item is delicious, we recently ordered the Tiki Salad and Chicken BBQ sliders are they didn’t disappoint

This place ALWAYS shows up on the best Tacoma restaurants. It DIDNT disappoint. The staff were very pleasant and the food was even better. The bbq and soup were delicious. It is buried in the Lincoln district but park and walk a bit to eat there. They have a great ability to do take out but have a small eat in area as well.

This place showed up as a recommendation on google maps, I read the reviews and I was intrigued and the pictures sold me. So I went and visited today, as I was going there, there were also others going there and it was full so we had to wait. A group behind me was seated first before me and that kind of annoyed me but I just thought of the possibly delicious food and maybe this was a test of my patience. So I waited patiently and resisted the urge to leave. Thank God I stayed, eventually senpai noticed me and I had a place to sit. The waitress was nice and welcoming. She gave me some piping hot jasmine tea and gave me some time to think about what I wanted. I wanted to try all the meats they had so I ordered the meat combo noodle soup. The dish looked very appetizing with pork slices and duck portions with noodle and vegetables. The broth was perfect tasting as the flavorful fats from the meat added to its allure. The egg noodle was great just like how I like from another restaurant I frequented. The roast pork still had a crunchy skin and nice flavor. The duck had even more flavor and went well with the noodle soup. The combination of meats, noodles, broth and vegetables made this dish spectacular. I ordered some roast pork to go but they sold out and my order couldn’t be completed.🥹 Overall, this is my new favorite noodle soup spot in the west coast. Sangkee is my favorite in the east coast. I highly recommend this place for replenishing your calories with a nutritiously delicious meal.

Fantastic food. I can't wait to come back and try the noodles. This was my first time trying the picked mustard greens, so refreshing and perfect with the roast meat. We had the duck and bbq pork. Duck was delicious but the pork was the favorite. Vietnamese ice coffee was really good, strong and sweet. Service was great, really nice staff. They let us know we had to wait 15 minutes for duck. It was worth it and expected in a place this busy. You can see everything coming together if you sit at the bar. ⚠️⚠️It is a loud and busy environment that some people might not like, chopping meat with a cleaver and music, but you can order to go.

Came here from Olympia and we could hardly get in the door there were so many people here eating and waiting to eat, for great reason!!! The lunch special was fantastic with crispy and slightly sweet duck and roasted pork belly with super crispy skin. The pickled vegetables and jalapenos were perfect to cut through the rich and succulent meats! Broken rice was delicious too! Will definitely be back as soon as I can!

Not many places can beat this place with their perking ducks and roasted pork 😋. Always my favorite spot to eat & meet when nearby. They remodeled the place, so it looks pretty nice and clean inside now. Service is like most Asian restaurants when busy --- not good hahaha. The food beat the service though 😆

Quick service & friendly staff. Got the combo meat noodle bowl & Vietnamese coffee & it hit the spot. Perfect for this cold weather. The BBQ meat was so tender & was given a large portion. Came here 3 minutes after opening & there was already a few people inside. Highly recommend coming here early as it does gets busy. Looked like they also had a lot of to-go orders. Would come here again!

Insanely good Vietnamese food!! They have roasted pork, duck, or BBQ pork options that you can get with rice, noodles, soup, and more. They also have really great coffee and a fruit-dessert drink. Everything I've had there has been amazing, service is efficient and accurate, and it's usually packed with people eating with family and friends! It may look unassuming from the outside, but WOW it's good... Just make sure to check their hours because they're not open all day!

Rain or shine these lines are always present for this place. Honestly the only reason for the 4/5 stars. The ice cream is DELICIOUS. My absurd fav combo is the Rose and Roasted Banana and i love the earl grey flavor too but its hardly in rotation

I appreciate that you can split a single scoop into two flavors (costs $0.50 extra). They have the usual flavors like chocolate and vanilla, in addition to some interesting ones, such as almond poppyseed and roasted banana. The Valhalla Coffee is the best coffee-flavored ice cream I've ever had in my entire life.

Very very yummy! The peanut butter brownie & Valhalla coffee were amazing. Not as expensive as I thought it was going to be (roughly $37 for 4 cones, two with double scoops). Though be mindful that they don’t accept cash. We did ask for kids cones for the kiddos but we were given adult sized cones for them

Ice cream social in Tacoma Washington is an amazingly delicious place that I highly recommend if you’re an ice cream lover of any kind. Because it’s so good, you will likely stand in line for a while but once you get your ice cream, you’ll realize that it’s well worth the wait. There is a nearby parking garage and a massive public picnic area on the waterfront where you can sit and people watch or let the kids play at the park play structure. A must visit for any ice cream enthusiast!

Tried: Strawberry, chocolate, lavender, mixed berry, banana brownie. We (and the kids especially) loved it, creamy high quality handmade ice cream with some fun daily flavors.

Ice Cream Social in Point Ruston is a great place to get unique flavors of ice cream and for me got the Coconut Almond Poppyseed one flavor of the non dairy ice cream. The day we went it was a beautiful warm day so we bought Ice cream and ate it a few steps away by the waterfront, you have the option to sit inside or outside. I highly recommend if you are visiting Point Ruston to stop by the Ice Cream Social. Parking: Street parking is limited but there is free public parking nearby. Great spot for a nice quality ice cream, in a cone or cup. The only downside is the place is so good, it often ( usually) has a long line of customers waiting to place an order. Many choices of flavors available.

Good pizza, friendly staff, SOLID beer. Need I say more? Shown is the Spekemat pizza and the terraformation: fuzzy hazy ipa. Both quite delicious! Kid friendly until 7pm. I appreciate businesses that have a compromise like this. I was able to show up with my daughter, eat some pizza, have some small pours of the delicious beer and everyone was happy. I bring a chair for my daughter so she stays at the table with me. Overall, I definitely recommend stopping in to Sig Brewing.

Best pizza I have ever had in Tacoma! Got the Queen Margarita. Will eat here again. They also brew a unique variety of beer on site.

We came here with a group of 10 and ordered many different menu items. Everything was delicious and we enjoyed all the beers! The Third Date pizza was really spicy. I especially liked the broccolini and gnocchi.

Great drinks and atmosphere. Staff was super friendly and helpful. My husband and I loved the food and drinks. We will be coming back!

Pizza is superb! Beers are very good full of flavor. Cider is strong and tasty. Sliders have a great consistency and the pickles give it a nice crunch! Love the food highly recommend!

Food is awesome. Great selection of beer that changes frequently so always something new to try. Love the cider and the slushies. Andrea our server is awesome! Just added the amazing Fall Salad. It is tasty. Tu The Brussels are on point as well.

The seafood here is fantastic! They also offer some other options like burgers for those in the mood for something different, but I’d recommend sticking to the seafood if you want the best experience. The views are absolutely stunning, especially if you get a seat outside. You can enjoy your meal while taking in the gorgeous scenery. The waitress was super friendly and made the whole experience feel even more enjoyable. Food is pricey, but is definently worth it. After dining here, there's a nice little walking area just outside the restaurant that leads to the pier. It's the perfect spot to take a post-meal stroll, check out some local coffee shops, and explore other nearby restaurants. Great food, great atmosphere, and a lovely area to explore afterward — definitely a place worth checking out!

Lovely waterfront seafood place with famous chowder and fresh fish! The service is amazing, great food and wine selection too. You really cant beat the view wether you are sitting inside or have good enough weather to sit outside. If you're lucky, you can catch a good amount of the aquatic life while you eat and enjoy watching sea planes or sailboats come through!

We went here for lunch today right at opening. I suggest going early because it got busy quickly. We got seated right away on the deck outside. The server helped us pretty quickly and made sure to explain how fresh their food is, pointing out some popular items on the menu. The food was absolutely delicious. The fish was perfectly fried, not too greasy or dripping at all. The salad was very good, a bit heavy on the dressing. The weather was also perfect so that was a nice bonus. Our water was filled often, our glasses never got empty. My first time here and we will absolutely be back!

The staff were wonderful and very informative. The atmosphere was fun. The food was fantastic! Everything was fresh, flavorful, and locally sourced. You definitely want to stop there if you get a chance.

Our experience here was so good not just because of the delicious food or drinks and amazing views but because of our server Alex!! Hands down the best server I’ve ever had - he is so good at his job. Took care of all of the things before we even needed to ask and gave us all of the options. Service, recommendations and care were spectacular. A seasonal item but I recommend the Pear Old Fashioned.

Always enjoy Duke's for lunch or dinner when we are craving seafood. I recently had the Crab Cake sandwich with Sweet Potato Fries and loved it. My kid enjoyed the Rockfish Tacos ( and had to add a cup of clam chowder). The view of the waters is always nice.

The award winning chowder wasn’t bad. I feel like it could have more flavor. I was expecting so much from the stuffed halibut and the cioppino. I was so disappointed… The cioppino had the whole cast of the little mermaid but it had no flavor! It was a watery soup with a lot of seafood and some tomatoes. The halibut was missing flavor as well. The only thing that was good were the fries and the blueberry lemonade. The service was excellent and the vibes were incredible. We sat outside at sunset and loved the views. But for the price I was expecting so much more

Food here was incredible. A little on the expensive side, but so good. We got a seat by the window, so we had a beautiful view of the water right around sunset as well. They close shockingly early (between 8-9pm depending on the night), so be aware of that, but it's definitely worth it. We got there close to close, and the server was great and made sure we were aware so we could get everything we wanted to order submitted before the kitchen closed, but also told us it was no rush at all once we had our food. I'd absolutely go back.

Solid seafood and efficient service. We had rainbow trout and the Manila clams, both very good. The clam “dinner” does not come with sides, so an additional order of mashed potatoes rounded it out. Enjoyable Moscow mule, an ipa 🍺 and amber ale 🍻

Good food in a smaller atmosphere. Some outside dining with a view for much warmer days. Friendly staff and appropriately attentive. We made a reservation which is recommended. Generous pour in the drinks. I paid $52 for the King Salmon (I live in FL and can't get it there). It was smaller in size than I was used to but delicious. Adequate parking across the street with a lighted crosswalk.

I've always had great experiences at Harbor lights. The food and service are always in point, its a beautiful place to have a meal and watch a sunset. Definitely recommend this place. We ordered the salmon, Mac cheese, clams for appetizer, and a moctail mojito.

Cute spot with nice water views and friendly service. They pour a stiff drink but also have tasty n/a options. Their clam chowder is unique (a white chowder without the cream) but very yummy! Their portions are generous. The fish and chips had great fries and the fish had a nice panko breading and was very tasty. The king crab legs comes without the shell and you get a ton of meat! Pricy but worth it. I got two meals out of it.

Went to dinner here July 15th. The views of the harbor are quite beautiful. Large parking lot’s located across the street from restaurant, and finding parking can be difficult on weekends. Tacoma waterfront area has many restaurants to choose from, and all of which are waterfront locations that have most of available parking is located across the street. The service was great, our food however was just ok. For a steak and seafood restaurant, I was not impressed with the quality of our meal, or the price.

This is a very nice restaurant with a beautiful view of the Pugent Sound. The food was very good. The Mussels were very good as was the ribeye steak with roasted scampi prawns. The rockfish was a little too spicy but they offered to make it again and milder and it came out just right. It was overall good experience.

We got the seafood chowder, fried calamari, seafood pasta, and a burger. The view was great! However, the food was just alright. The pasta was bland - the salmon was not well seasoned, the sauce was bland as well. I would suggest adding some salt, pepper and red pepper flakes. The chowder was interesting. It was foamy, salty and milky/cheesy. The burger wasn't anything special. The fried calamari wasn't crispy. Overall, the food was below my expectations. I would come here for the view,get drinks and an appetizer.

Visiting for the first time in Seattle. I wasn't crazy about my dinner. The steak was beautiful and it was delicious. However, the potatoes were barely warm, they were not well seasoned, and the green beans were hard! The berry cobbler was overbaked! Would I go back again? WildFin in Tacoma has so much going for it — the location is beautiful, with amazing views of the water and even a giant fountain out front where kids can splash and play. It’s a lively spot that feels perfect for both family outings and date nights. I ordered the Fresh Catch Halibut, which was flavorful and had great textures. That said, I did find myself questioning just how “fresh” the catch really was, which kept it from being a flawless experience. Still, it was enjoyable overall and paired nicely with the atmosphere. Service was a definite highlight — the bartenders were attentive, helpful, and made the evening smooth and enjoyable. Overall, I’d give WildFin a solid 4 out of 5. Great view, great service, and good food — just not quite perfect.

Wildfin in one of several restaurants in the Point Defiance waterfront area. The area is very nice and offers some nice restaurants with a good view of the water. The decor and presentation inside of the restaurant is appealing. The oysters were a good choice to start, as well as the bread service. We tried the filet mignon, black cod and the burger. The steak was presented well and tender, it was slightly undercooked but still very good. The black cod was impressive and very tasty. The burger was tasty but unfortunately well undercooked, it was ordered medium-well and arrived medium rare. We did not send it back but this was our only issue with our dining experience. Our server was friendly and attentive. Outside of the undercooking, a nice choice in dining.

My daughter and I enjoyed dinner! We started with the clams. The sauce was amazing, the wine was not over powering!We shared a delicious seasonal salad. My daughter had the house burger and I had the shrimp scampi. Neither of us we able to finish but took it all home to enjoy later. Great view, sadly we did not get pics, server was attentive and very kind. We did not make a reservation but they got us in with ease!

Visited Wildfin in Ruston on a sunny day with a party of 6. The parking is a bit of a walk, and I wish there were clearer signs that parking is free for retail visitors. If it was posted somewhere maybe I must have missed? The restaurant itself is gorgeous with a warm, inviting interior and incredible waterfront views that make it feel special. The bar area is beautifully set up and definitely adds to the upscale vibe. Restrooms were very clean, but for the size of the restaurant, having just one toilet felt a bit limited. Food-wise, the menu leans toward being heavier, and most items were a little too salty for my personal taste. Service was professional and attentive, which made the experience very good. This is a great place for a nice evening out or to bring guests who want a view with their meal. They have a beautiful outdoor patio set up and I can see why people love it here. We love this place. Yes, it’s on the pricier side, but the food is worth it and the location is nice, being right on the water. The calamari was cooked perfectly, so much flavor and very tender. The chowder was also delicious, just wish the pieces of seafood in it were bigger and more noticeable. The salmon and filet were cooked perfectly. Very tender, juicy and full of flavor. I loved the Sole more than the tenderloin on my dish. The tenderloin was cooked exactly how I wanted, but there was no flavor to the meat itself, apart from the chimichurri. The potatoes are a little underwhelming for the side, could use some butter. Overall, it was delicious and worth it.

We stayed there last night for our elopement and decided to try the restaurant. There were only two tables with 4 people at them. Waitress looked overwhelmed and wouldn’t seat us for about 10 minutes. We got a free complimentary drink for our anniversary/wedding. She was rude about us using that and once we ordered our food and got it she instantly brought us the bill. Service was as horrible, the food itself was ok. Just an unpleasant experience overall.

The drink and food selection is modest, but expected in a hotel restaurant that may have a lot or very little people in the booths at any given time. My drink had something crusty on the inside of the glass, but it did me little harm. The crab and artichoke dip was adequate but the bread I slathered it on was perfectly crusted. The garlic fries I ordered had zero garlic on them, but these things happen. My wagyu burger was heavenly, with the meat cooked just as I had asked. My wife's salad lost a bit of it's will to be green and had a bit of brown around the edges of maybe a third of the lettuce. The lighting was dark and did not invite me to buy dessert. The air was clean.

We are in Washington on business and stayed at The Murano. I was worried about going to bite, as I have an ulcer and can’t eat much. The Hostess and our server, Letti, were so understanding and talked through all of the menu options until we found a dish that I could eat, then Letti relayed my needs to the kitchen perfectly. Thanks so much to the staff & kitchen for being so patient and understanding and providing me with a great dinner. We had breakfast there this morning as well!!

Lovely spot for a quick breakfast. We were seated immediately. We had to wait a beat for our server but once we initially connected service was quick and super attentive. My cappuccino was delicious. My breakfast sandwich was hot and tasty but maybe a tiny bit dry. It could have benefited from a slice of tomato or a few spinach leaves or something. The breakfast potatoes were unbelievably flavourful!! Husband was happy with his waffle and tea. Bill came immediately upon request. Prices were typical for a hotel but overall flavour and attentiveness were better than average.

During my stay at the Murano, I had the pleasure to experience both the breakfast and dinner menus at the Bite restaurant located on the 4th floor. When I first arrived, I met an associate for coffee and Deborah made us the Mocha and Latte, both were great. She mentioned the restaurant opened up for dinner and invited us back. KB was my dinner server, he was attentive and friendly. Mayra was my server for breakfast and she was incredible. There were also 2 other staff members who periodically check in, so no definitely no shortage of good service. I had the overnight oats, which was a balance of sweet, with a bit of nutrition. Although it is considered a “small” on the menu, I found it to be perfectly filling. Highly recommend giving this place a try. For the food, the ambiance, and the friendly staff. I will definitely be coming back.

This place is a wonderful dining experience! Not only is the hotel very trendy with the decor, but the restaurant is quite stylish as well. The service is great, the views are nice and the food is delicious! Their salads and sandwiches are fresh and great quality! If you happen to be hanging in the downtown area of Tacoma, it's worth checking out this restaurant on the 4th floor of the Murano Hotel!

I visited during the “In the Spirit” Northwest Native Festival with free admission. As I was walking in, I was happy and surprised to see the welcome sign that had haʔł sləx̌il which means good day in twulshootseed on the top of the sign that had many greetings in different languages. Each art piece was unique and interesting. As an indigenous person myself, I found the many native artists featured inspiring. My favorite piece was the Orca by Marvin Oliver of the Quinault Tribe, Isleta Pueblo born in Seattle, Washington. Watercut, fused, and polished glass with cast glass inlay and steel base. Overall, I was able to indulge and submerse myself into the many cultures displayed. The second floor had an amazing view of the Tacoma Dome. Parking was reasonably priced for a Saturday only $2 an hour. The cafe had snacks, sandwiches and drinks that were a bit spendy but very average for downtown Tacoma. Their menu is available on their website. I had a pleasant experience and would go again.

Excellent exhibit with anything from paintings, prints, photography, textiles made into art, glass sculptures a true sensory delight. All the colors and shapes were amazing. Super nice and knowledgeable staff are available to answers all your questions. They have a cafe on the main floor, a gift shop and three levels in the building. Once on the top floor you get a nice view of the city and if lucky on a clear day the opportunity for very nice pictures of the structures surrounding the museum. You are within walking distance from the glass museum and other amenities in the area. Breweries, restaurants and nice scenery everywhere. I highly recommend this location.

I was pleasantly surprised by the size of this museum. It has multiple floors with galleries showcasing Native portraiture, landscape scenes, bronze statues, Chihuly glass, modern art, etc. This museum makes me want to visit Taos in New Mexico because all the artists I liked seem to end up there. They also have a little balcony (or a terrace) with a view of Tacoma Dome.

TAM is pretty cool! Admission is free for anyone under 18, and the exhibits are often educational. The Kinsey collection specifically was great, and the diversity efforts are really good. The collections are overall very tasteful and enjoyable. It’s proximity to the glass museum is also very nice.

Visited the gorgeous TAM today for the first time. The staff, amenities, access to gallery spaces, quality of exhibitions, and overall experience were of a very high caliber. As a museum professional myself, I was very impressed, and only regret not spending the entire day at the museum. My partner and I visited many of the thoughtful exhibitions including (but not limited to) a small show displaying PNW glass master Chihuly's work, an exhibition of Russel Albert Daniels' photography of the landscape, culture, and peoples of Abiquiú, New Mexico and related paintings by Georgia O’Keeffe, an exciting textiles show entitled "Soft Power" whose selected contents were (powerful) expressions of cultural heritage and power, and finally a wonderful exhibition highlighting paintings from the permanent collection which focused on key aspects of painting: medium and support, composition, color, and technique. I especially enjoyed the James Lavadour and Frank Okada! Fabulous, fabulous works and a treat to see in person. Will be returning to the TAM at my next visit to Tacoma to see what magic the museum staff have put together next!

What an interesting museum, the textiles section was a wow, and the glass spectacular to see. Very well laid out and easy to navigate. Staff are always there to answer questions. Very clean and well maintained. I would highly recommend this museum

We visited on a cold, rainy weekday afternoon. There’s a parking lot next to the restaurant, and despite the weather, it was quite busy—we waited about 10 minutes for a table. The dining area was fairly spacious, and they thoughtfully provided coloring sheets for kids as soon as we sat down. As for the food, the clam chowder lived up to its reputation and was definitely a highlight. The lobster mac and cheese was flavorful, and the cod in the fish and chips tasted fresh. The calamari was crispy on the outside and tender inside—clearly fresh. The bang bang shrimp was tasty but not particularly special. Overall, it was a decent dining experience.

We went to dinner and ate at the bar. We started with raw oysters. They were so delicious. We then had the seafood dip. My husband had the seafood mac n cheese. I had the King Crab 🦀. It was definitely the king of the sea. Huge portion and tastes amazing. Fresh delicious food, knowledgeable and friendly staff, with a beautiful view of the water. I think I found my favorite dinner spot. It is also walkable distance from the Tacoma Dome, very convient to grab a drink and food before the show. I highly recommend checking it out. You will not be disappointed.

Delightfully delicious! We stopped here for lunch based on all the great reviews and we are SO satisfied! Great fish, great service and casual, comfortable atmosphere on the waterway. Large parking lot. My husband had the crab Louie and loved it. It was all tossed and had crab and shrimp throughout. I had the fresh sea trout and it was wonderful.

Found this spot in 2023 on a work trip and had to go back when I was in town again a few weeks ago. Location is awesome, Rainier in the background and the glass museum right next door. Everyone here is so friendly and the service is great. Food and drinks are tasty, with lots of options on the menu. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in the area.

The Fish Peddler is located on the Thea Foss Waterway, which provides an appreciated water view complete with nautical activities. Had a nice lunch service, the staff were polite but could have been a bit more attentive. Had the halibut fish & chips, which was tasty. It was done well but the portion was a bit diminutive. There’s indoor and outdoor dining. There’s a well stocked bar. The decor is appropriate for the theme of the establishment. Wide variety of options on the menu. Good spot, will return next time I’m in the area.

We wanted lobster rolls, Penn Cove mussels & oysters, so found this place by the water. Unfortunately, they ran out of the mussels. The oyster sampler is a nice, inexpensive (compared to Seattle tourist spots) way to enjoy fresh tumbles. That day, it was clean, bright kumamotos, served with cocktail sauce & horseradish, & a sweet mignonette with chopped shallots. They offer Maine (warm) & Connecticut (cold) styles of proper, if understuffed lobster rolls. Toasted, buttered rolls were sliced down the middle & made just for this. We also enjoyed the bang bang shrimp appetizer & a main entree of linguine tossed in a light, garlicky spicy sauce with a substitution of prawns instead of Penn Cove mussels. Just as good & a highlight of our dinner. Another highlight was some of the best, chunky New England style chowder we've had. Go there early to avoid long waits, busy servers, & crowds.

Signature taste. Service was prompt and frequent. All the entrees and appetizers were delicious. The cod fish n chips were lacking a bit on portion size, and the creme brulee was a scoop of ice cream over an apple turnover like thing. The restaurant was open and clean, the scenery was nice and quiet.

My husband and I came here for the first time celebrating our anniversary. We came with zero expectations and were impressed by the tea, food, and atmosphere. The gentleman on the piano was very charming and interacted with everyone who came in. Evening in Missoula tea was recommended to us and it was delicious! The assortment of sandwiches and desserts were tasty. We left big fans of their tuna curry on rye, lemon bars, and scones. The prices were fair based on the variety of food options we got and the exceptional service. We will definitely return!

Kitty, Jada, and Brian were wonderful. My kids went to a birthday party here and the service and food was incredible! They were so kind and great with the kids as well. So much food as well!! Brian did a great job on the piano as well. The shop itself was beautiful as well!!! I hope we get to come back. :)

Absolutely incredible tea house. We had a private party for a bachelorette tea and the staff were incredibly accommodating to our requests and provided phenomenal service. We were a group that required some very specific set up for the party and they were so gracious with meeting all of our needs. Staff were friendly and created such a lovely night for our group. Cannot recommend this place enough - thank you all again!

I was very impressed overall with this tea room. I have been going to afternoon teas for years and this spot checks all of the boxes. Loved the decor and vintage Victorian feel. The pianist added to the environment as well and was fun. For the value of the Seasonal tea I loved the soup and we had to take all of the desserts home because we simply couldn’t eat any more! If you’re on the fence or curious, I really would recommend. Personally think afternoon teas are so fun with kids, grandkids, ladies afternoon out to try something new. Parking was free as well and easy with the parking pass. We will certainly be back and hoping they have a fun Christmas tea (: A comment on the negative reviews on price, they have probably about 6 different options for tea services ranging from about $15-$60

I scheduled a bachelorette tea party for my fiance and her friends here. Worst decision I've ever made. They first didn't communicate to each other about this reservation, so the party was waiting for 30 min. Finally, after I called them they finally moved the party to a private space. No one apologized, no one took extra care. They brought out old shrimp, that made the ladies sick!! They even upcharged the party for soup in the queen option! There fruit looked crusty and they only received 1 chocolate dip strawberry. At the end they were rushed to leave at 4pm, after waiting for 30 mins. No extra time. No care. I would not recommend this place.

Hello my friends, Today's review will be on a new place for us called The Olive Branch Cafe & Tea room in Tacoma. We started off our brunch with the Champaign tea package but we also ordered a few items separately off of their menu. I was somewhat disappointed in the lack of selection of teas they did not have English breakfast which I thought was puzzling. So they gave us something similar to it called Irish breakfast. I did try the French dip myself because I like to try that dish and new restaurants to see how it is. The sauce itself is usually lacking in some way but there's was pretty good. The Tea room that's located in Seattle is decorated with all red and Christmas type stuff where this one is decorated more in the Victorian furniture and doilies. I will tell you this, it's the only thing that really irritated me. when you first walk into the restaurant there is a piano with a live person playing it they gave us the immediate room which is 10 ft away from the piano. I don't know how many of you have tried to have a quiet conversation while someone played a piano close by, but it was really difficult to concentrate so I asked them to please move us so we were a short distance away. This has Nothing to do with the quality of the pianist! Just that it's hard to concentrate with the sound so close to our table - the distance made the time there much more enjoyable and relaxing. Our Whole point for visiting a tea room was to get some peace and quiet. My wife had a sandwich called the turkey gobbler which she did enjoy! My daughter and I shared a tomato basil soup which was very good. Part of the package was giving us a two-tier dessert tray. the first tier had several sandwiches with a scone and the second one had desserts. Overall, in my opinion we probably won't go back because it was a little expensive ($150) and the lack of a good tea section was kind of a bummer. The tea was served in kind of a ceramic pot instead of a metal pot so the water didn't stay hot for very long. Ii is a very cute restaurant certainly worth a visit. James...

This is our favorite tea place. My daughter and I discovered it and have made several trips now and have never been disappointed. The scones melt in your mouth! There is a fabulous tea selection and the service is wonderful. Not to mention the amazing piano talent!

Things have changed. Consistently getting better and better. We have traveled all over N. America and had some really good meals and service. Tonight our meals were top 5 in life at the Cliff House. Ate downstairs, the bartender tonight went out of his way to make things great!! Food is usually good, tonight it was spectacular!!! Good job guys!

It's a little on the pricey side but the food was very high quality, parking wasn't bad, and the views were great. We went when it wasn't busy and ate upstairs in the dining room. I can totally see how parking would be an issue when it got busier though, the lot is a bit small and I didn't see any good overflow close by. Staff was great, food was good, would go again

Worst food I have paid for in a long time. Salad was uneatable, fresh was the last word I could ever use to describe it. $32 fish and chips was worth nothing, it was so bad. Breading was weird and just not good. Don’t get me started on the coleslaw, they should be ashamed for the pricing they charge. $6 ginger ale tasted like club soda and chemicals. Why? Service was fine, they accepted right away that I didn’t want to pay for the salad, at least. I really didn’t want to pay for any of it, it was worthless. Their only saving grace is the view and nautical interior. Do not patron this place if you want any kind of satisfying food purchase.

First time at Cliff House. Ashley our waitress was very friendly and helpful. Food was delicious and portions were huge.

Service was above par! I ordered Cioppino and Caesar salad, the gf ordered lobster and prawn Alfredo and clam chowder. The clam chowder was the best I’ve ever tasted. All seafood in both dishes were cooked to perfection, nothing in my Ciaoppino was over cooked. It’s difficult to find seafood that’s cooked to perfection. I forgot to snap a pic before I started to eat. 😉

Celebrated our anniversary here. Had a lovely time on a grey PNW day. We ended up with leftovers so we could have dessert. They even gave us canoli to celebrate. We can highly recommend.

I really enjoyed visiting this restaurant. Everything was good but there were some things I do think needs improvement. I ordered the fried oysters which were delicious but the breading was not crunchy at all. And the chocolate cake was very rich and more on the firm side. I personally like a soft spongy cake. Besides that everything was good!

Visited this place on a whim while in the area for some business. I was pleasantly floored. The burger had the perfect blend of heat and spice (usually too much of one and not another) and the server was fantastic. Really enjoyed my lunch—definitely recommend visiting if you’re in the area. Kudos to this team and restaurant because I want to go back.

Very good hotdogs, good snap, excellent flavor for the dogs them selves. I did find the Mac and cheese dog a little underwhelming and bland, but a little hot sauce made up for it. I also enjoyed their selection of NA beers. The black something or other was *chefs kiss. Prices are pretty good too. The only thing I found disappointing was the Frito pie, mostly cause the nacho cheese was flavorless. I will say the place definitely has a hipster vibe, which isn't necessarily my flavor, but I can see the appeal and will definitely stop in next time I need a good hot dog.

Great little find from Tik Tok. We got intrigued by the bacon, peanut butter hotdog. We had a variety that included the bacon, peanut butter, 6th ave strut, Hillside, and one other that was spicy. All great, but peanut butter was a bit much for me. The Mac and Cheese is incredibly delicious. Will definitely return and try others. Staff is excellent and helpful. Check it out you'll like it or love it.

This is a really cool and comfortable restaurant. They have a big selection of beer and ciders that change often. The food is all delicious. Some of us had char burgers, and they were very good. I do wish they had asked us how we wanted the burgers cooked as they were cooked longer than I would have liked. The hot dogs and sausages were also very good. There're no French fries, but some good sides are available. A good mac and cheese, good bbq beans and coleslaw. I would highly recommend you check this place out.

The hot dogs are amazing, indeed, the peanut butter and bacon hot dog definitely surprised me (in a really good way), however I have a beef to pick with the fact they advertise hours incorrectly, they do, in fact, close at 11pm, but their kitchen closes at 10pm, knowing that would’ve saved me the trip since I was going for the hot dogs (second time) and got there 10:18pm so no food was served. Other than that, everything else was great, the Seattle Dog onions are not caramelized like it should be, which for some is a dealbreaker, so FYI, it is not. The hot dogs are amazing tho, and the food is worth coming back (like I tried).

The Red Hot is one of Tacoma’s best beer spots. The food is good, great selection of beers, and the service is top notch. Particularly our favorite bartender Elliott, who is such a mensch. He knows the kind of beer I like and is always Johnny on the spot with a great recommendation. My wife thinks he’s super cute, I cannot say, but I’ll take her word for it. He does always smell good, I’ll give him that. Except once when he smelled rather strongly of sauerkraut but that was the result of a rather unfortunate mishap with a 5 gallon bucket of sauerkraut which was entirely outside of his control. He can also spit mad rhymes but only after a few strong IPA’s. Anyway, go check out The Red Hot and if you get Elliott as a server, drop a phat beat on him and watch what he can do.

The food was amazing, decent priced hot dogs, a little on the pricy side but they are worth it. Lots of variety and flavors. The service was nice and friendly. They had interesting unique items such as the root beer on tap which was amazing and I highly recommend their Mac and cheese as well as their baked beans. They had good quality ingredients. The atmosphere is of a liberal bar and was nice and enjoyable and not too loud. I would definitely come back again. Parking can be a little tricky if you can't get a spot outside.

I ordered Mike's deluxe and the club. They were both so delicious, my family loved every bit. La Paloma (my favorite shop up the road) recommended eating here. This will be a new favorite sandwich shop. The feel walking in is classic. Lots of chips and drinks to choose from.

Great sandwiches, make sure to call ahead to place an order during lunch time - it’s popular! The customer service is good but sometimes you can tell they’re swamped. I’ve recently had the Cuban and Philly Cheesesteak (pictured). The 9” is the size to get, big but feasible to eat in one sitting. The dining area in the back isn’t anything fancy, most people seem to get their sandwiches as pick up. Go try it out!

Okay as someone from the PNW I feel like I can’t really talk about delis with much credibility, at least compared to someone from say New York. STILL, I love this place. The bread is fluffy and light yet filling and flavorful. The toppings are always fresh and delicious, especially vegetables like the lettuce and tomatoes which I think is very important. I usually get the Italian cold cut sandwich it is delectable. On top of this, the magical cookie is to die for. It has chocolate, walnuts, macadamia nuts and more I cannot name and don’t need to, it’s too good. The only issues I have with the place are the price, however at 18.99 for a 13in sub, I really get two meals out of it so I can’t even complain that much. Always thrilled to make a trip back here when I’m down in Tacoma.

This is the kind of sandwich I dream about. If your a guy who gets a 12 inch at a sub chain you only want about a medium here. I ordered a large and ate until I was stuffed and still had half a sub. Prices are good, and they have a good selection of chips and soda, not just your standard 3 flavors like most chains..I want to give an extra shout out to the thick slices of gabbagoul . YUM! Be warned there is often a 30 to 60 minute wait during the peak hours... Trust me it's worth the wait. Just call and order your sub ahead of time if you don't want to wait.

Really good sub/grinder/hoagy sandwiches. Walked in and ordered at 1030 and got my sandwich just before 1100. They’re very popular and busy. If you can, order ahead. Staff was friendly, patient and very busy. They were hustlin’.

*they ran out of the normal bread around noon when I went on Memorial Day Came in there was a line which to me said I was in the right place. Asked people in line what to get and 2 people said the mikes and it was the first item on the menu. The let me know it was gonna take 30 mins and if that was okay. (Great communication). There’s a back room where you can eat at which isn’t obvious. I got my sandwich and ate half in the car. Overall pretty pedestrian ham and turkey with cheese sandwich. Sprouts made it a little different but basically tasted like those giant sub sandwiches safe way had pre packed in the deli back in the day I would eat while fishing. I’ll have to go back another time to see if it was the bread. I think if you grew up in this neighborhood maybe there’s a nostalgic factor to it. The “signature” Mike sandwich was very underwhelming for a 1 hr total waiting and receiving time. I brought one to my friend and he felt the same way. The second half of the sandwich I lightly toasted which improved it a bit.

Probably your top end sandwich and the Tacoma area. If you want a sandwich you need to get it here. But they do have that top price to boot with it. But a great team of workers are doing their part like a well oiled machine to meet their demand. Worthy of supporting your local business.

5 bars, 4 restaurants. (One bar is hidden) delicious food and COOLEST atmosphere at The Hangout restaurant. The building is filled with such unique wonderful art and history and amazing chandeliers hanging from the ceiling everywhere you look. It was the most unique Hotel experience. I would definitely recommend just saying here if you like weird and quirky and artistic things. Also it's great if you love bar hopping and exploring

We absolutely 💯 adore McMenamins hotels! It may sound cliche but they are always an adventure- more of an experience than just a place to sleep. We wandered the halls for hours, taking in the detailed artwork, mystical symbolism, and surprising architecture. For example, there is a mystery "5th Floor" which is a metaphor for the pentagram this Lodge used as it's emblem. This "floor" is a tiny stop between stairwells and looks to have been a quirky spot to imbibe various libations. Every guest room has a story about a couple who were previous patrons of the Lodge and were important in the community by contributing to the common good. These are told in murals that detail their lives in artistic paintings. And then there are the bars and restaurants! The basement has a tiki bar complete with lagoon water features and shimmering ambiance. We weren't enthralled with the food there, but breakfast in the morning back in the main bar & restaurant was divine! They serve their own jam which is so good, you can't even purchase it. You simply have to taste it for yourself! All in all you will never regret staying at a McMenamins and this one has many hidden gems 💎 to explore!

Very cool place. The ballroom is something to behold. Tiki Bar is my favorite for food/atmosphere. Hotel rooms are very nice and offer a unique experience if you’re looking for a place to stay in Tacoma. Great venue. Lots of stuff to look at inside. Lots of history. Plenty of interesting shows come through here which is great if you live in Tacoma and don’t want to drive up to Seattle for live music. The giant paintings around the room are incredible. They even have a gift shop somewhere. If you don’t know about the speakeasy go check it out! Bartenders will tell you where it is. Gorgeous interior and exterior. Great place to visit for breakfast, lunch and dinner

This place really is fantastic for a weekend getaway! We haven't stayed at a Mcmenamins before because they don't always have bathrooms in the room. But this place does. We were on the 6th floor with a balcony. The room was clean and cute. Cool artwork. The view of the port was pretty. Bed was comfortable. No coffee pot in the room but there is free coffee on the floor near a stairwell. Bed was comfortable. No room service unless you specifically ask for it. The floor itself was beautiful with tons of plants and huge chandeliers. There was something to see everywhere you went. All the floors had a bar/restaurant with different themes. The food ranged from fine to really good. We ate at most of the pubs/bars. Prime rib at the Pub on the 4th floor was delicious. The Old Hangout is a Tikki type place that we really liked a lot. The food is good and they have a water feature that is really cool. We went to a show in the Spanish Ballroom that was awesome (Nite Wave). The band is fantastic and the room really big. The only downside is that there were way too many people smashed together. You didn't really have space to dance without getting knocked around by people. That was annoying so we just moved to the way back. Broadway street which is out the front door of the building has a lot of antique shops if you are in to that sort of thing. We were able to find the secret bar which was fun to explore and find. Unfortunately, the place was kept cold like a meat locker so we didn't stay to have a drink. We can't wait to come back! Note, parking is atrocious! Lol. If you are really lucky, you can grab a spot right across the street at the print shop. They are closed on weekends and you can park for free. But there aren't many spots. The only better spot is directly in front of the hotel. They look metered but the front desk say they haven't been checked since COVID. Every else is metered parking and possibly not safe for long term parking due to some interesting characters hanging around. The other option is to park at the Tacoma dome train station and take the Link to the hotel or Uber over.

The Elks Temple was amazing! We visited to see a band we knew that was playing in the Spanish Ballroom, and decided to take a room for the night. The accommodation was breathtaking, we were upgraded too, which was fantastic since we were celebrating a late anniversary that night. The food was beyond tasty and the atmosphere will keep drawing you back. We ended the night singing on the Spanish steps with the bands who had played that night. Definitely a hotel and venue I would recommend!

Went for a fun dinner! Had a great time. We sat at the restaurant on the lowest floor with the Thailand vibes. It was awesome. Our waiter was the best. Sean was his name! Cute with a dimple and a man bun 😊

I don't know anything about the rooms😂 didn't know it was a hotel. I hit a short concert here last night, and Tia at the tiki bar gave us some of the best service I've ever had. I don't go out far for any reason, but I'd visit her again any day. For the excellent service🫡

I wanted to try this restaurant last week, after discovering it, following PT. I had another doctor appointment that same day and was short on time. There was no available parking, so I tabled it for another day. Today, following PT, my husband and I headed back over and landed the only available parking space. The restaurant is small, cozy, but not overcrowded with tables. Every one of them was taken. We were offered a seat at the back counter or to be added to the waiting list. Looking around, it appeared most diners had just arrived, so we reluctantly took a seat in the back. That turned out to be the best decision ever!!! I highly recommend that option, even if the restaurant isn’t full. I will definitely choose it for future visits!!! The counter seating was spacious with a very large, deep counter, and free entertainment!!! The head chef worked directly in front of us, and it was fascinating to watch the meals being prepared, plated, and garnished!! The kitchen is immaculately clean, and the chef, and his sous chefs, change out their gloves frequently. I took a lot of pictures of the meals being prepared, so I don’t know all of them. I didn’t think to take a picture of the menu to match the menu items to the dishes. Sorry. It just means you will have to go there yourselves. I had the breakfast croissant with Rosemary potatoes. The aioli sauce was perfect and tasted divine! Ray had one of the breakfast biscuits with gravy, also with the rosemary potatoes, which is a staple of their breakfasts. He raved about how tasty his breakfast was too. The people sitting around us were kind enough to allow me to take pictures of their breakfasts. We were all eating here for the first time and we all agreed our meals were excellent!!! I asked permission of Chef Isiah to take his picture. I jokingly told him I had planned on giving him some of my cooking tips, but after watching him in action, I had none. He did share a couple of his tricks with me. I can’t wait to put them to the test in my own kitchen!! Our server Marie was exceptional. She was friendly, and attentive without being intrusive. She made sure we had coffee and water refills, and kept me in sugar and cream for my coffee. The only downside, for me, was needing the restroom and seeing there was a flight of stairs to climb, and a handrail only on one side. I am recovering from an extensive shoulder reconstruction surgery and can’t grip a handrail on my left side until I am healed. I expressed my dilemma to Marie, when I explained to her why I could not take the stairs. Without hesitation, she took me next door to the art studio, explained my dilemma to the receptionist, who graciously allowed me the use of their restroom. This was such a great find!!! The service was exceptional, the food was delicious, and we enjoyed our entire dining experience from start to finish, We will definitely be back for another meal!!!

I went for brunch to celebrate a friend's birthday. The place gets packed right after opening, at least on weekends. I ordered the breakfast tacos, and we shared a curry chicken pot pie. I also had the maple brown sugar latte, which was pretty good. My friend tried one of the breakfast bowls. I enjoyed the breakfast tacos; they had a good amount of chorizo. However, the curry chicken pot pie was not what I expected. It came with a puff pastry and curry, but the predominant taste was turmeric, likely from curry powder that didn't seem made from scratch but rather a premade mix. Overall, it's a pretty decent place with a nice ambiance and decent service.

The food was quite delicious, the service was exceptional. I ordered the croissant breakfast sandwich sub chicken sausage. My partner enjoyed a breakfast sandwich that was spoken very highly of, along with the Love Potion. Probably the best drink she’s ever had. Only down side is the size, it’s a bit tight in there but it gets the job done.

Menu sounded great, but the chorizo in the chorizo breakfast bowl was a chorizo mince, and the breakfast tasted very average. Promised a lot but didn't deliver. The sandwiches that another table ordered looked amazing, I definitely had food envy! Also, the coffee (black Americano) was disappointing.

This restaurant was fantastic! A kitschy, cool café, that serves eclectic and quality dishes, it was really hard to choose what I was going to have for lunch! My advice would be to get here early as this place is very popular for good reason. They don’t take reservations for parties of two so that’s good to know. I had the curry quinoa cake salad with avocado instead of egg and my partner had the deluxe oatmeal. I had black coffee, which was rich and strong! Even the water was amazing, I call it “spa water” because it was infused with cucumber. Very refreshing! Everything was phenomenal and the portions were ample. Also don’t miss a side of the root vegetable hash, it was savory, and not too heavy considering. It’s a little pricey, but I expect that with the quality of ingredients. The location is in a cool area of Tacoma and the parking is fantastic. A must try.

First time bruncher at Art House Cafe and we enjoyed it! We ordered The Classic Stuffed Biscuit, Buttermilk Ricotta Pancakes, Brioche Croque Madame, a green tea and a Cinnamon Bun Latte. Unfortunately 2 out of the 3 entrees were visibly burnt and you could taste it, but I could still tell the food has promise. I'll go back again. Service was great from the hostess to our server to the kind folks refilling our waters. It was busy but they got us seated quickly and the food came out quick too. There are so many great things we wanted to try on the menu so I'm looking forward to our next visit.

My kids had been raving about the Art House Cafe for awhile, so I arrived for Sunday Brunch with perhaps higher- than- average expectations... After a fairly long wait, we sat down and ordered right away ( we'd looked at the menu ahead of time and were more than ready AND super hungry). We ordered the French Toast with bacon, The Italian Benedict and Captain Travis Scramble. Wow, just wow. Here goes...The French Toast was not even remotely warm and was incredibly difficult to cut with a knife. The French Toast ( with the emphasis on the word "toast") was overly chewy, flavorless, and somewhat dry in parts of the toast. It seemed like the toast had been dipped in very little egg mixture and did not get an even coating. The "Maple Syrup" was not real maple syrup but just a regular syrup which had a hint of maple flavoring. Such a disappointment! The bacon was fairly decent tasting ( albeit tough and pretty hard to chew). Hard to feel motivated to pony up $19 for this largely unpatable dish. I left most of it on my plate. My dining partners didn't fare much better. The Italian Benedict also came to the table at a tepid temperature. Folks, people like cooked dishes to be hot or, at the very least, warm and warm throughout. The Captain Travis Scramble sounded great ( at least, on paper) with a description of eggs, house sausage, red onions, kalamata olives, spinach, mushrooms and cheddar cheese. The other diner at our table told me it overwhelmingly tasted of olives ( very salty) , so all the other flavors were completely cancelled out. Again, this dish was not finished. For $21, he felt very cheated. Don't know if this was an "off day" but it certainly made a bad first impression with me. Perhaps, don't come on Sunday?? My dining partners were so distressed because they'd hyped up the Art House Cafe so much to me. They both tried to assure me that they were shocked with the dishes because up until this Sunday, all they'd eaten there was delicious and freshly prepared ( and at a decently hot temperature ). Overall, with the $80+ bill ( with one hot drink), it was a big letdown. Ending 2024 with a miserable whimper for this brunch trio. Not sure if I'll be back.

Don't be fooled by the outside, or inside for that matter! The food and service is more like an old school diner. Amazing portions, with a home cooked vibe and taste. The staff seemed to be very happy to serve, even though we arrived an hour before closing! My omelet was stuffed fill of meat and other goodies. I am a self proclaimed food snob, and I was thoroughly impressed. I will definitely be returning!

If you love to go to a place that hasn’t changed and makes you feel like grammas or mom’s kitchen from back in the day, this place hits the spot. I’ve been here a couple of times and it may not be for everyone but it makes me feel all happy inside. It’s just a little tiny place off the side of the road it’s definitely a local spot. Bring a huge appetite or share a dish with someone. The breakfast and lunch choices are delicious old fashioned diner selections. The staff is very friendly and welcoming every time I’ve been. They have stuffed waffles and the original oyster omelette if you’re into that.

Eating at Marcia’s silver Spoon Cafe is like sitting down at the table and welcoming a home cooked meal. Staff is friendly, cooks are well rounded in a variety of different dishes. Your plate will be abundantly filled with a mouth watering and delicious meal. You will leave with a smile on your face, a fully satisfied stomach and leftovers for another meal. Highly recommended!!!

I’ll start off by saying the parking is horrible, there’s parking in the back but it’s shared with other businesses. The place is realllllyyyy small. Barely room to walk in between tables. I was bumped into a couple times while eating. With that being said, the portions are huge. Pricing is decent. The food give a homey feel and tastes homemade. I got the hamburger steak and hash browns with eggs and a side of gravy, highly recommend. The “short stack” of pancakes are HUGE and delicious. The strawberry lemonade is perfect. Not too sweet not too sour. The ladies working were very nice. When you get there they write your name and number down and call you when a table is ready, we got lucky and only waited 10 mins.

I’ve recently started visiting this spot more frequently because of its convenient location near work, and I’m so glad I did. The French Dip has quickly become one of my favorites—first of all, it’s massive! I usually end up eating half and taking the rest home for later. The sandwich itself is perfectly toasted, and the meat-to-bun ratio is spot on, making every bite a satisfying experience. What really sets this place apart, though, is the combination of delicious food, generous portions, and great service. The prices are reasonable, especially considering the size of the portions. The staff is incredibly friendly and approachable, always making you feel like a regular—even if it’s your first time there. I’ll definitely keep choosing this spot for any breakfast, brunch, or lunch cravings—it’s a gem in both quality and atmosphere!

Food would be 5/5 if it had flavor, unfortunately. Cooked well, and no issues with order, but the flavor lacked for the price. My eggs and bacon with loaded hash browns, and coffee totaled about $26 (not including tip) with a 10% discount for paying with cash. Also ordered eggs/bacon with loaded Scottie potatoes. I wish I could say the food was worth the prices, maybe it would be with some flavor added to the eggs/potatoes 👀

Was bat the shelter puppy hunting and they had nothing went around the corner and saw Maria's. Got on the wait list which wasnt very long and sooner we were seated. The service was amazing, fast, friendly. The food was incredible. Lots of it, hot and tasty. Couple after couple, group after group, people just kept coming. I would defiantly go back and bring friends. The cooks, Terrance and Josh were wonderful. Great place.

It was a fun place to eat. The chef was engaging and kept everyone happy and entertained. I would like to see more attention on keeping the restaurant clean. Behind us was a hallway with chairs and a mirror. It was obvious those things hadn’t been cleaned in a month or more: mirror was covered with dust. It’s an old building but the lack of cleanliness and tidiness makes me cringe at what the kitchen may look like. The sushi we had was very very good though. Definitely 5 stars on that portion.

The price is not worth the food, if you order the shrimp and scallop for $50+ you will get 8 shrimp and 8 scallop disc's. They fill you up on rice and veggies. Your mostly paying for the clown performance, if you have seen it before it's nothing new. If you have 5 or more people gratuity is included of 18%. The bill for 7 people was over $300. I would have rather went to harvest buffet 3 times. This might be our last hibachi experience

We went on a Saturday at noon. It was quiet my husband and I got the Mount St. Helen rolls, and we loved them. They were very filling. The service was a perfect amount of interaction. Very clean and quick restaurant. The chocolate covered strawberry martini was a perfect pairing!

We wanted hibachi and this place hit the spot. We came in for lunch on a Saturday, so we did the lunch special that included an entree, miso soup, and salad. All of the staff members were very friendly and the food was hot and fresh. It’s always fun to watch the food being prepared on the grill. The portions were generous, so I was able to eat my leftovers for dinner that day. We haven’t tried any of the sushi here yet, so maybe we will get that next time.

Everything cost OVER TWICE as much as the cruddy old menu photos they have on their website. Management is in the reviews here, lying that their website is updated, but it's not. A quick takeout of 3 small dishes came out over 90 dollars.

Our first time experiencing this place and the food was not only visually exciting and beautiful but also extremely appetizing. We had the 16 piece sashimi which included salmon and salmon belly which is an excellent delicacy that you do not get served at a usual sushi bar what a treat! Salmon yes at other sushi bars but not salmon belly. The fish was cold and very fresh with great flavors. We also had the Monster roll that is a bit on the spicy side with sliced jalapeno served on top. Too spicy for my husband that ordered it but I didn't mind having it so myself ☺️. Since My husband only ate a few pieces of the roll he ordered the surf clam nigiri which was very tasty. Overall we will definitely be back to this great find and try out more rolls or even the hibachi that they cook there.

Our chef Christian was such a great guy. Absolutely hilarious. It almost felt like dinner and a comedy show ! Wonderful food. Great service. Will be coming back again and I hope we are lucky enough to run into Christian when we get there.

This place is amazing!!! We got the Southern Comfort, Chix’N Sticks, and the chimichanga. Everything was so delicious- the sides were all awesome- the Mac and cheese and potato salad especially. The cornbread and hush puppy were great too, I’d definitely get extra cornbread next time. Everything was so flavorful, I think that anybody, vegan or not, should try this place. It is takeout only, but they have a patio with tables and chairs for sunny days. Our order took about 45 minutes from the time we placed it, which is exactly what they advertise on the website! The service was lovely as well, this place is absolutely worth the trip! Wish there was another location closer to Seattle.

So delicious! Food was cooked perfectly and seasoned really well. A really fun menu made it hard to pick. Would love to go back and try more things.

Man, was this place good! As someone traveling through from the South it was nice to find a spot with some southern vegan cooking. We had the southern comfort plate and the apple pie bread pudding, both were delicious and amazing serving sizes, come hungry. Will be back if we ever swing through Tacoma again. (Gave a 4 stars for both the service and atmosphere only because the dining was closed when I arrived, so I don’t have any opinion on the atmosphere or service but also didn’t want to rate it poorly)

Didn't know that it's take out only but despite that we ordered and ate in the car. We ordered the TV dinner and the Jamaican wrap. Absolutely loved it, the wrap is healthy and the TV dinner is perfect junk food but the two go together beautifully. Very unique taste, unlike other vegan places that have all begun to taste the same.

I had been wanting to try this place for a while. It absolutely delivered. I was disappointed that we couldn't find on site. However, the food was so damn good and the service was so friendly that I didn't care where I ate it. I had the Reuben and my friend had the club. Both were outstanding. I got the spicy fries (they weren't spicy) and they were delicious. I can't wait for the next trip to try more.

I love this place so much. I've been coming here for 23 years and its still amazing. You must order the Mac and yease. My favorite burger is the crazy Jamaican burger with a salad instead of fries. The milkshakes are awesome too. I had the chili dog recently - also great and would definitely order again. It's outdoor seating only and you will have to wait a bit for your food - but it's 1000% worth the wait. Just order online and go to pickup to skip the wait. If I had the opportunity to pick my last meal on earth it would definitely be a plate of fresh tomatoes and peaches with ...a crazy Jamaican burger, strawberry milkshake and Mac n yease...

Great service and cute atmosphere! The food was solid overall. I really enjoyed the homemade pickles—definitely a standout. The sauce was decent, though not quite my favorite. Fries were seasoned, but unfortunately tasted strongly of garlic powder, which threw me off. We tried the Seoul Burger and the Smash Burger; the smash-style Smash Burger was much better in my opinion. I’d definitely come back to try something different next time. Great service and a really cute vibe made the experience worthwhile!

One word: AMAZING!!! This burger joint brings Korean twist to your burgers making you want more! We tried the GOAT burger aka the Seoul burger and it was spot on. I had mine with gluten free bun. Sweet potato fries were crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. All the ingredients were fresh and blend well together. We are visiting the area but we are coming back once again to try the Fire chicken sandwich and the smash patty as it looked amazing! I totally recommend this place. Owner is friendly and came to check on us. Very approachable which added some connection to our experience. It was just perfect:)

This was one of the best burgers i have had in a long long time. I got the double smash, it was so much bigger then i expected that i barely touched the fries, so next time i am only getting fries if i have someone to share them with so i can focus on the star of the show, that burger. I cannot wait to go back and tell everyone about it. There is some parking in the lot and some small seating on the inside and bigger tables outside. I went pre lunch time rush so I was in and out quickly.

I’ll start this off like this… please come to West Seattle. This place would crush it in our part of town!! You’d see me weekly for sure. I had the bulgogiger… it was the BOMB. Perfect marinade on the beef, texture was amazing. House made pickles were the perfect kinda kimchi touch. I’d give it a 9/10. The iceberg lettuce, I’d swap out for a shredded version and some of that fire sauce on the bottom and it’s close to perfect. My son got the Seoul burger and the cheese was perfection. It was super sharp and had cracked pepper all throughout it. Maybe the best burger cheese I’ve had (at least that I can remember). The fries, couldn’t ask for more. The milkshakes were phenomenal, seemed like French vanilla (had the speckles). I even bought a jar of the pickles to take home. This place is worth a 45 minute drive.

The food is always delicious and flavorful. It’s so much more than your average burger and so filling. The owner has a lot of heart for the business and food and makes sure the high quality is always there!

This was by far one of the best burgers I have ever had. The burger was cooked perfect and the sauce is outstanding! The garlic fries are addicting. The staff was extremely kind and polite and the owner was wonderful and made us feel very welcomed! I would recommend everyone try Burger Seoul, you wont be disappointed!

Everything EXCELLENT from location, parking, ambiance & service. Our half pound Seoul burger cooked to perfection dressed with fresh veggies. Pickles & kimchi deliciously supported order. The beloved soft tofu stew paired with stone pot rice is truly a treat, especially when hot water is added to the crispy scorched rice at the bottom, turning it into warm and satisfying *sungnyung* to finish the meal. You can adjust the spice level when ordering, choosing either mild or spicy. You'll surely fall in love with the true charm of stone pot rice. This is a highly recommended soul food restaurant for those wanting an authentic Korean experience

Stopped by Cho Dang Tofu in Lakewood, located in a busy plaza surrounded by other small businesses. I ordered my usual meal that I’ve had at other Cho Dang locations, but this time the flavor didn’t hit the same. It lacked the rich depth I was expecting from the Nakdol bibimbap. The side dishes were also different. Notably, the usual potato salad was missing, which is something I always look forward to. While I get that variations happen between locations, this one just felt off. What really bothered me though was the number of flies in the dining area. That’s not something you expect when sitting down for a hot, comforting Korean meal. It’s a controllable issue and made the overall experience feel unpolished. The service was excellent but I can’t help but be disappointed overall, especially given the potential this place has based on its name recognition. Been coming here since 2016. I’ve spent hundreds of dollars here already. Many many birthdays, corporate, casual, and catchups were spent here. And always had great experiences—until today. Our food took about 25 minutes to arrive, and a few items were missing, which I had to follow up on. Not a big issue on its own, but what really concerned me was finding flies crawling around in a few of the side dishes. Still, we didn’t make a fuss. After the meal, I went up to pay. I always tip, even when the service is lacking. Our bill was around $45, and I had a $10 bill ready to leave in cash, so I selected “no tip” on the card reader. That’s when the staff member said, “No tip” I assumed she was acknowledging the poor service and telling me not to tip, so I said “okay” and got ready to leave. But then she repeated, “This doesn’t include tip,” which made it clear she was trying to pressure me into tipping. Super unprofessional and distasteful. I left without tipping and won’t be returning. After today’s experience, neither I nor my friends or family will be coming back.

I love this place. The food is consistently delicious, the portions are generous, and the banchan is plentiful and solid. I get the mushroom kimchi soft tofu soup, a cold diet coke, and prepare for an excellent meal.

This place is pretty on par with the other soft tofu restaurants we've been to. All soups come in a traditional Korean hot stone bowl. Also like the side dishes that came with out meal. Overall, recommend if you just like a no frills Korean soft tofu soup especially for the cold days in this area!

Food here is quite excellent. Known for their tofu soups. The barbecued meats are also pretty good. Banchan are good, but not the best in town. Fried fish on the side is a nice touch. Really loved the food here, but unfortunately, service is lacking. We happened to go at a relatively quiet time but I know this restaurant tends to get overwhelmed by the amount of customers they seat.

The sushi he was pretty good! The Curry Udon bowl was awesome! Definitely be back for that! The server was very friendly and answered all our questions. When we pulled up it looked a bit suspect, but I am glad we went in! Would recommend for sure!

I’m Japanese and I thought it was nearly impossible to find authentic Japanese food outside of the Bellevue/Seattle area. I’m so glad I found this place near my house - the flavors are authentically Japanese and not like anything else I’ve tried in Pierce County! Definitely recommend!

We have eaten here twice now and both times every bite is fresh and delicious! They make the best spicy tuna roll ever! Can’t wait to return and try some of other menu options.

Really fun experience! They have a small sushi bar and the chef and server were super nice. Atmosphere feels a little like you’re in a basement but I think it gives the place a more casual feel that I like.

Sushi Tama has been our go-to sushi restaurant in Tacoma for over 20 years! While it has a small dining room, the food is delicious and always made with care and attention to detail. It is always spotlessly clean and the service is excellent. You should try to make a reservation in advance or come during a less busy day of the week. Even at 4:30 it might already be packed. However it is well worth the wait. It might not be as upscale as some other restaurants but it has a comfortable feel to it that puts you at ease. Food might take a little longer than at other places at times but again, it’s worth the wait. It’s a wonderful place for a date night or evening with good friends. It might not be the best option for really active little ones in the family, but if you do take them just make sure to bring things to keep them entertained and happy.

My first time here. Picked up 2 orders of teriyaki chicken, 1 Cali roll, 1 temp shrimp appetizer, $70 after tip. The chicken is dry and flavorless, only 4 shrimp and really small for the price. The Cali roll was good but only two pieces of ginger. I asked for extra teriyaki sauce on the chicken and got no sauce from what I could tell. I drove all the way back and they gave me two small cups that I should have gotten with a regular order. I had to ask for more and got a third cup. The kids working there are kind. Small servings for the price. Not sure how they have great ratings.

Worst sushi restaurant I’ve ever been to, bar none. $25 for the two tiniest rolls I’ve seen in my life. Wasn’t even enough to feed me, let alone my girlfriend. They asked me twice if I wanted soy sauce, and I said yes - got home, no soy sauce. Only one pair of chopsticks. I asked for a refund so I could purchase dinner elsewhere, and they refused. Won’t be ordering from here again!
