Skagway Brewing Company is a cozy brewpub located at 7th Avenue and Broadway, steeped in the history of the Alaskan Gold Rush. Despite its roots dating back to 1897, the current operation began in 2007. The frontier-style atmosphere and excellent house microbrews make it a must-visit spot. The menu features American comfort food like huge burgers, halibut sandwiches, and various types of fries.
Another little gem in the Skagway area. Stopped by after doing the White Pass train ride. It was a short walk from the trains first stop back into town. It was fairly busy due to everybody on the cruise ships getting back from their land excursions. Took about 30 minutes to get a seat. Atmosphere was pleasant and not too loud. The food and service was excellent. The beer? It was great! Another wonderful place to stop by to break up the repetitive food choices on your cruise.

My husband loved the fish and chips. My niece went to town on it. I had the chili cheese fries and the chilis is delicious. It had beans, my favorite. The wings were good. We also ordered some of the in house root beer! It came is an ice cold mug. They had an elevator to take you to the second floor. We also enjoyed the gift shop on the lower level. My sister-in-law loved the chapstick. I appreciate the staff as we witnessed someone pass out in front while we were there on a port day. Several of them ran out and sprang into action to help. We highly recommend this place!

Came on a very cold and wet day, and I was so glad to find the restaurant warm and cozy with a fireplace going. It’s located on the second floor, with the first floor being a gift shop of some sort. I originally came for their reindeer sausage or hotdog, but unfortunately they don’t serve it anymore. Instead, I tried their locally made root beer, which was crisp, refreshing, and perfect for the weather. I also had the Philly steak sandwich, which could use a bit more flavor, but the portion size was generous. Everything came out hot and fresh. The fries were crispy and served piping hot. I paid extra for the truffle seasoning, though the truffle flavor was barely noticeable, and I had to add a bit of salt myself. Overall, for Alaska prices, I think it’s fair. Service was quick and friendly, and the cozy atmosphere made it a nice spot to warm up and relax.

Skagway Brewing Company is a hidden gem in this charming Alaskan town. From the moment you step inside, you're enveloped in a cozy atmosphere that's perfect for relaxing after a long day of exploring. The selection of craft beers is impressive, with a great mix of classic styles and innovative brews that showcase the brewery's creativity. But it's not just the beer that shines – the food menu is also a highlight! From juicy burgers, beer chilli, shrimp pop corn, the dishes are expertly prepared and generously portioned. We particularly enjoyed the jumbo wings which was full of flavor. One thing to keep in mind is that the wait can be a bit long, especially during peak season. But trust us, it's worth it! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, happy to answer questions and make recommendations. And when your drinks and food finally arrive, you'll be glad you waited. Overall, Skagway Brewing Company is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates good beer, great food, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. If you're in Skagway, be sure to stop by and sample some of their tasty brews and bites. You won't be disappointed! 👍🍺"
Vibricia P — Google review
Wow. World class fish and chips. Both were perfect. Tartar sauce was good but did not enhance the perfection of the halibut. Ketchup was refrigerated (yay!), but could not enhance perfect fries. Spruce Tip Blonde paired wonderfully, with interesting fruity notes. Belgian Dark gave a different flavor combo to the fish. Root beer is impeccable. Halibut chowder was rich, creamy, filled with fish. HIGHLY recommend.
Patrick O — Google review
Great stop for a beer and a bite. Had to try the Spruce tip Blonde, for the vitamin C. A nice light tasting beer. Their salmon dip was out of this world! We ate at the bar side of the brewery. Seating is a bit confusing. Signs on the table that have no service but you can order at the bar, appear to be seat yourself? The hostess seating people would seat someone and disappear. Maybe she was hoping everyone would just go away 🤣, it was the end of the season. The bartenders were awesome. Definitely swing by. The line moves pretty quickly.
Todd N — Google review
Extremely decent chilli and fish & chips. Portion sizes for the fish & chips were a little small, given its price. Is it because potatoes need to be imported to Skagway? Or is it the tartar sauce? Chilli actually tasted award-winning, as advertised. Do award your stomach with it! Also, stellar service! We had a large group, walking in, and they accommodated us so nicely. 10/5 experience.
Daniel K — Google review
The food was WELL WORTH a 30 minute wait for a table. We were stuffed full by the end of the meal with amazing food! We got the salmon spread and I ordered the Salmon Sandwich and loaded chili fries - all of it was delicious!!! 10/10 would recommend!

The Red Onion Saloon is a seasonal landmark offering American cuisine and drinks in a lively setting, along with a brothel museum. Situated on the corner of 2nd & Broadway, this historic establishment dates back to 1897 during the Gold Rush era. Once one of the finest bordellos in town, it now serves as a bar, restaurant, and museum.
This is a place you have to experience. I loved the atmosphere. We were seated upstairs and had a nice view of the bar. We ordered their famous Duck Fart shots which were tasty. There was an old grumpy guy on a keyboard singing raunchy songs and was very entertaining.
Mary S — Google review
To begin with, the entire staff was very accommodating and friendly. It was a last second decision on my part but they were able to get me on the 12:30. I took the 2 hour tour with Madame Tilly. Her energy was infectious, her delivery with the jokes was fantastic, and her knowledge of the history was top-tier! It's clear she has a passion for the job and everything that it entails. I stayed for a quick bite. The quesadilla was so good! The bar staff was great and everyone was smiling. This experience is a must!
Robert H — Google review
Anybody in the area definitely needs to stop by. The food was honestly absolutely amazing. Not to mention the cocktails that they make in the area are hilarious and delicious. Don't forget to come back to see the saloon tour that they offer, which is also a great piece of history. In the area of how the town thrived and honestly would not have made it without it. The staff here are super amazing and the character for the tours that they deliver are great
Zachary C — Google review
One of the funniest tours I have ever made. This was indeed a brothel back in the days of the Klondike Gold rush. So the tour is about the daily life of the women who entertained the men at that time and you will see part of their living ways, including their rooms (with original wall papers), clothes, objects. The tour leaders' narrative is super funny and educational at the same time. It will last around 20 minutes and costs 20 dollars (including a souvenir). The visit takes place at the upper floor. Downstairs it's the bar/restaurant.
Ana T — Google review
The saloon is a wonderful nostalgic place, full of gold rush vibes and the rough and raw of Alaska when it was young. The decor is very time period and highlights the brothel upstairs. Walk through the saloon to the back and sign up for a tour, it's fun, informative and the best part of the saloon. Although many say the service was friendly, we found the opposite to be true at the bar. The bartenders were anything but friendly, I'd say maybe a bit condescending and troubled is a better description. Checked it off the historical bucket list, loved the tour, won't need to go back!
Cindy P — Google review
✨iconic✨ First, I started with a tour with my cruise ship. Madam Annie Thyme met us at the port and gave a good history tour on the way to town. We had GREAT jokes and stories. I loved this tour of Skagway and hearing the tales of the people of the gold rush. Second, I thought it was super important for them to cover the stories the way she did. Highlighting the women who built the town with their escapades, sin taxes and looking out for each other. It’s not always the easiest to talk about. We ended our tour with a walk through of the Red Onion Saloon. Lastly, it was such a good experience - we went back!! The next week when we were back in town we had lunch there. Five of us split two pizzas- The Shady Lady and The Spicy Spangler. We coupled it with some local brews and reindeer farts. So good! 10/10
Kelli B — Google review
We were here on vacation and learned of this famous spot so we wanted to try it out. It was a old brothel so the teeming and history is awesome in this place as they have it set up like it was originally. We sat down to eat after about a hour wait because the inside is so small and there were so many ships that came into port. Unfortunately we weren't able to have any wraps or sandwiches because we were told that their freezers broke so we stuck to pizzas and a quesadilla. I got the pulled pork quesadilla and I couldn't believe how great it was. Big portion and definitely top of the lists of ones I've had. We were with friends so we got 3 pies and they were honestly some of the best pizza also, which I couldn't believe from a old saloon. The pies were big and loaded with ingredients. They cooked them perfectly. We got some of their specialty drinks that were very good also. I definitely recommend this place if your in town for the day for either drinks or food.
Wayne M — Google review
The name is so damn catchy, you want to go there. When you walk through the town and see the building, you really want to go in! ATMOSPHERE: Located on a corner that's real close to the cruise ship pier, it's super busy with us tourist folk. The place used to be a brothel, and there's a tour or museum upstairs but was closed when we went. The bar is fairly big, and the rest of the saloon is filled with regular tables. A crown moulding of bed pans line the walls. You feel the oldness of the building with its dim lighting, dark old floors, and the staff dressed in themed costumes. The bartenders have low busty shirts on like an old school Hooters. BEVERAGE: Alaskan White is the bomb! If you buy a pitcher they give you a comp beer glass with the logo. FOOD: We didn't eat anything but the menu offers mainstays like nachos, salsa & chips, hummus, 10 different pizzas, soups, salads, and sandwiches. SERVICE: The wait for a table would've been long since there were 4 ships in the harbor. Luckily we snagged some seats at the bar. Everyone was very friendly. OVERALL: Good fun place to go before you jump back on your ship.

Located at 201 Congress Way, Skagway Fish Company is a popular spot for visitors seeking fresh seafood in Alaska. The restaurant offers a variety of options including grilled halibut, salmon, Alaskan King Crab legs, oysters, and crab bisque at competitive prices. With harbor views and outdoor seating available on clear days, it's an ideal place to savor local beer while waiting for a table.
Best crab I've ever had. We were on the fence about ordering it, given it's a bit pricey, but thankfully our waiter talked us into it. The red king crab—not the jumbo—is the way to go. It's so incredibly moist and flavorful, unlike any frozen crab you'd find in the lower 48. The fried halibut and shrimp are also really tasty! Bring a friend so you can try it all!

One of the first restaurants that you see if you are on a cruise ship that is touring Alaska when docked in Skagway. My dad is in a wheelchair so this was conveniently located in the front with accessible access. This restaurant does not disappoint! If you’re going to have fresh Alaskan seafood this would be the place to go when getting off the ship. I’m sure the restaurant is used to lots of tourists so they are very efficient in line management. The ambience is similar to a local restaurant or diner, so it’s not that big but don’t be fooled. This has some of the best tasting crab legs I’ve ever had in my life! I’m just sad. They didn’t have the one I wanted to try because it wasn’t available which was the red crab legs. However, the king crab legs was worth it! Super fresh, I don’t think I’ll ever eat crab legs the same again. We even ordered the oysters and I’m still craving it till this day. If you think this is a tourist trap, it probably is. But it is well worth it when traveling all the way to Alaska because the downtown is about a 10 minute walk away from the pier if you have older people with you this is a place to go.
Michelle M — Google review
I was very excited to try this joint out due to the reviews from others. We were not disappointed. I had the halibut fish and chips and it was tasty. My lady had a halibut sandwich and she really enjoyed it, and that's coming from a non-fish lover. We also got the king crab soup and we highly recommend it as an appetizer. Service was fantastic and the atmosphere makes you feel like you are at a dock eating.

We visited Skagway on a cruise ship in summer 2025. We were blown away by the scenery! The air, water, snow and mountains were pristine. This remote, small town hosts over a million tourists annually, with a population of only a little over 1000 (800+ in winter and 2500+ in summer). On the day we arrived, there were 4 cruise ships docking on the pier, each generating more power than the entire town. The history of Klondike gold rush is absolutely fascinating! It appears people back then understood the sound money, such as gold, is more valuable than any fiat currency, and took extreme measures to have it. Like many tourist towns, Skagway has higher grocery prices, more expensive housing, higher living costs, but lower household income. Remoteness further exacerbates the sticker shock. We went to this seafood restaurant after the shore excursion. It only opens during the tourist season, between May and October. Food was great, but the price was much greater. A half king crab with 4 legs was $199, a shrimp basket with 4 fried shrimp was $24, and the top tier of the suggested tip was 100% 😱

Wow! In Skagway we checked out menus at various places and then decided on the Skagway Fish Company. What a great choice. Molly was our server at the bar and what a terrific personality and amazing service. We started with drinks while chatting with Molly and a few other patrons. We decided on the Halibut fish and chips and they were out of this world. The fish was so fresh and cooked well. My wife had two plates full. The other people at the bar were all bragging about the food. The fish and chips, the crab cakes and the crab as well as other dishes were getting rave verbal reviews. Of course we felt the same way. Molly was terrific and you could tell she knew her menu and also loved serving people and was professional, kind and efficient. We had a wonderful time. 5 stars 🌟 plus. Highly recommended!
George U — Google review
We skipped Skagway Brewing Company for lunch because their Fish and Chips were $35 and that place was very disorganized; we had a hard time even getting beer there, so we decided to come to this restaurant, which was a smart choice. The fish and chips were were $27 and the absolute BEST!! The fish was fluffy, sweet, flaky and insanely fresh. I am forever spoiled. I cannot order fish and chips anywhere else because nothing will ever match Skagway Fish Company's quality. The distance for us was only a 7-min walk back to our cruise ship (NCL Encore) during the shoulder season of May 2025. Also, don't make the mistake I did and walk out of there without buying their cool Skull Fish T-shirt, I really should have bought it.

Loved this restaurant - we went twice! Food was absolutely delicious and the service from Nate was great! It’s such a cool place. They do gluten free tailoring, but it’s very limited which is the reason for 4stars. But the food we did have was outstanding!
Nick S — Google review
We were looking for king crab for a late lunch, and I googled where to go. Skagway Fish Company had a lot of great reviews, and it was a short walk from the cruise ship area. And WOW! We were seated quickly, and our amazing server gave us ideas and recommendations. We got the king crab legs, and they were amazing! Just melted in my mouth! So fresh and delicious! We also ordered the halibut and chips (I love halibut, but we live in a land-locked state) The halibut was lightly breaded (not beer batter, thank goodness), so fresh, and so good! Definitely the best Alaskan fish and chips on the entire 10 day cruise! This is definitely the place to go to for any meal when in Skagway! (Did I say that the service was stellar? It is! )

Liarsville Gold Rush Trail Camp & Salmon Bake, located just 2 miles from Skagway, Alaska, offers a unique experience with its entertaining cast of costumed characters and a chance to try gold panning in the Liarsville gold fields. The camp also features a delicious salmon bake with freshly caught salmon, wood-fired chicken, pasta medleys, and delightful desserts. Visitors can enjoy guided tours through the forest and indulge in Alaskan culinary delights before or after their adventure.
The team that is working here is exceptional and super friendly. The show was educational, entertaining, funny, and fantastic. The care they took to make sure that all of us found gold flakes was excellent customer service. Pretty waterfall, fun photo ops, gift store was just ok.OK. We didn't have the salmon bake, just blueberry cake and hot chocolate which were yummy.

Was a stop in our tour, was something unique, Representing the local community and presenting a recreation of the town of the 1860 tradition and culture. We had a lunch at the end of the presentation. Rice, baked beans, coleslaw and potatoes, the best part, salmon on the grill. Love it.
Rodrigo M — Google review
Loved this place. I had cake and warm apple juice. They provided a traditional entertainment which was well performed and full of humour. The staff were on bear watch and very vigilant...... and then a group of local kids came jogging through the clearing..... fearless or mad?

It’s another stop offered by the cruise tours. The afternoon reminded me of being in The Boy Scouts and camping trips. Had a cookout, eating outdoors in the rain, the smell of an outdoor fireplace, hearing stories and listening to live music is what you’ll get. There’s a gift shop heated by a wood burning furnace. It didn’t really provide much warmth and it smoked up the store, but demonstrated what life was like during the times of the Klondike Gold Rush.

Super fun show - it was a "typical" drizzly day in Skagway but the team brought all of the energy and excitement. The food was delicious.
Elizabeth B — Google review
This was a fun experience, but sadly the salmon was WAY overcooked, very dry! We have salmon in our home area a lot and wanted to see how good Alaskan salmon compares. Well, this salmon at least was not even close. Other parts of the meal were good, potatoes, slaw, baked beans, cornbread. It was also cool to learn the story of Liarsville. Assuming our experience with the salmon itself was unusual, this was a good time otherwise.
Curtis N — Google review
On one side of the street is the Liarsville Cookhouse where they hold the salmon "bake" which is actually grilled. A very nice guy named Bear directs the chow line. The meal consists of salad, baked beans, coleslaw, rice pilaf scalloped potatoes, barbecue chicken, and of course salmon. The dessert was corn bread or blue berry cake. The salmon was cooked too well for my taste, but the chicken was perfect. The camp has recreated frontier tents and they look pretty authentic when compared to the gold rush era camps in California. There is a souvenir shop of course. They also have a four person show worth skits and songs. It's pretty enjoyable.
Bill — Google review
Liarsville was part of a larger shore excursion we booked. We were driven out to the gold rush trail camp in the woods. It was great to learn some of the local history and Klondike gold rush lore in an entertaining setting. First, we were treated to a brief show in their “hippodrome,” a covered tent area with log bench seats. The show was fun and funny - reminded me of something you’d see at a Renaissance Fest, a little silly, a little bawdy but fine for families. I wish it was longer - I’m not sure if it would have been longer had we not been on an organized tour. Next, we had the chance to pan for flakes of gold. We were all given pans with pre-selected dirt and the guarantee of finding a few flakes as we swirled our pans in the water at raised tables. Our visit ended with a salmon feast and y’all, this was where Liarsville really shined. The meal was outstanding! There was a buffet area of side items and chicken. The salmon was cooked to perfection by two attentive chefs on an open grill and the brown sugar sauce they added to the salmon and cornbread was MOUTHWATERING! We went back for seconds, and would have had a third helping if we weren’t so stuffed! There was also a young man playing live music on guitar who was really talented and that added to the great experience.

Olivia's Bistro is a charming restaurant located within the Historic Skagway Hotel, offering a relaxed dining experience with mountain views. The bistro is known for its fresh seafood and garden-fresh ingredients, ensuring that every dish is carefully crafted. It's a popular spot during special events like the Solstice celebration and Fourth of July, where locals and visitors enjoy the festive atmosphere with garden views and refreshing mint mojitos.
It was a restaurant with a calm and relaxed atmosphere. I had the seafood pasta! The shrimp were large and very satisfying. The halibut was grilled to a crispy perfection and tasted great. The gentle flavor of the cream sauce complemented the dish wonderfully. I'm truly grateful to the chef in the kitchen who kindly checked in on me and responded with a warm smile.

We stopped in for lunch while at port. This place has amazing food! We all had something different: halibut pastry, chowder, fish & chips, and meatballs. Excellent! I highly recommend stopping by and enjoying a meal in their garden.

This restaurant at Skagway Inn was awesome, crab was fresh and sweet. A bit pricey at $90 for a lb, but was a great meal. Their smoked salmon dip was so delicious! The halibut fish and chips was also just as good. This was the best meal of our trip and just had to share this jewel. Service was welcoming and fast. Location is a bit further up the main street, but well worth the walk.

We did a local food science presentation here during our honeymoon cruise! It was so much fun and folks were so personal and clearly passionate about what they do. Not too much showmanship or touristy vibes which was a relief on a long trip. And such good smoked salmon dip and baked Alaska (I hold these folks responsible for converting me to a blueberry lover.)

What a great find....at the very end of the main street in town. The gorgeous organic raised beds garden drew us in....and we stayed for a late lunch. The "bread & spread" starter was truly delicious ( a family recipe they claim). The Inn has a colorful history that makes for a good story about ones travels to Stagway. RECOMMENDED!

We only came for the food while we browsed downtown Skagway and it was phenomenal! It’s a small, quaint little restaurant and it has a very home like feel to it. Customer service was outstanding when you first walk in and they greet you with warm smiles and friendly and present service. It is pretty pricey, but the portions were reasonable and the quality of food was exceptional. We shared the salmon puff and fish and chips and they were both delicious! The salmon puff was crunchy and crisp. Had the perfect fried flavor housing plentiful salmon inside. Same goes for the tender and flavorful halibut too. It was fried perfectly, and the side salad that came alongside with it was one of the best I’ve ever had. Fresh veggies and a delectable dressing paired alongside it. The draft Kodiak ale we ordered paired perfectly with our meals as well. A perfect meal boost for our tourist vacation along Skagway.

We’re visiting from Alberta, Canada, and had a wonderful experience at Olivia Restaurant in Skagway! A big thank you to Victoria for her amazing customer service—she was so friendly, welcoming, and made us feel right at home. Her positive attitude really made a difference. The food was excellent, and the king crab was absolutely fantastic—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. We’ll definitely be recommending this restaurant to our friends, family, and business associates back home. If you’re ever in Skagway, make sure to stop by Olivia Restaurant—you won’t be disappointed!

Best handmade smoked burger in Skagway. Especially since I didn't have to make it. But yes, please try Olivia's, they also have amazing seafood pasta, and if you add in the intimate atmosphere and super friendly and attentive service, call this your number one stop. Better food, better service than your ship, guaranteed.

In the charming town of Skagway, Alaska, there's a locally owned bakery called Klondike Doughboy that's a must-visit for those with a sweet tooth. This bakery is famous for its unique sweet treat - fry bread. The aroma of freshly fried dough and the delectable taste make it a popular choice among locals and visitors alike. The owner, known as the "sourdough boy," ensures that customers are treated to reasonably priced and incredibly tasty baked goods.
Delicious! Oh my such a delight. Price $8 - Light and warm with sweetness to match. The line was long but worth the wait. They offer a small gift shop inside as well so make sure you take time to browse while enjoying your sugary treat. They have a nice selection of gift items to purchase. So glad we stop for a warm treat!!

The hype was real! The line was out the door but it moved fast. Nothing like some fried dough tossed in sugar and cinnamon to get your energy up. We really enjoyed them and definitely craved them days later 🤣. One is big enough to share between two people. This is not like an elephant ear, though similar, the texture and taste was a little different. Give it a try while in town. Would pair up great with a coffee.

Fry bread hits differently in Alaska - it's so much better! Klondike Doughboys are perfectly chewy and crispy, with just the right cinnamon-sugar combination clinging to the residual hot oil from the deep fryer. You might consider sharing the deliciousness but you won't regret eating it all yourself. My kids loved it so much that they had a doughboy pre-and post-excursion activities. The line is often out the door, but moves quick.

A Must-Try Treat in Skagway We were intrigued by Klondike Doughboy from the moment we arrived in Skagway. This little storefront always had a crowd—people waiting outside, others happily munching on what looked like deep-fried heaven dusted in sugar and cinnamon. After walking by several times, we finally gave in. And we’re glad we did. The Alaskan fry bread was everything it promised to be—crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and generously coated in that classic cinnamon-sugar mix. Simple? Yes. But absolutely satisfying. It felt like a cross between comfort food and something you’d find at a state fair, in the best possible way. What made the experience even more fun was standing out front, enjoying the warm doughboy while watching the ever-hopeful ravens waiting for a dropped bite. There’s just something about this place—the food, the energy, the setting—that makes it feel special. Don’t miss this spot if you’re in Skagway.

If you’re visiting Skagway, Klondike Doughboy is an absolute must try. The warm fry bread is a delight! light, crispy, and perfectly airy with just the right touch of sweetness. At only $8 USD, it feels like a little piece of Alaskan heaven without breaking the bank. Yes, the line can be long, but it’s completely worth the wait. They have a charming selection of local items that make perfect souvenirs, so you can browse while enjoying your waiting in line. I’m so glad we stopped for this warm indulgence. Delicious and memorable, don’t visit Skagway without it!

Each fried bed is made fresh right before your eyes. Hot, sugary and delicious. It did not taste oily. Delicious any day of the week.

I mean. C’mon, it’s fried dough with sugar on it! It was excellent! Warm, made fresh in front of you, great treat for the family! They also have snow cones for the kids!

I love this place. I found it on Tik Tok and I live in Whitehorse, funny how that works. This place is accessible as like many places in Skagway, Alaska. Staff are pleasant and fry bread is amazing. They come in big portions that can easily be shared. It’s $8.00 a piece. Staff are efficient with time as this place gets busy. Staff also see the value in social media and link to how this can drive increased traffic into their business so they welcome photos and postings. This place also attracts lots of crows with the fry bread, so you can do some bird watching. If you’re on a day trip to Skagway or coming off a cruise ship this is a place to come check out.

Breakfast restaurant
Bites on Broadway is a charming restaurant located in the historic Skagway, housed in a building dating back to 1897. Whether you're starting your day with a hearty breakfast or winding down with a satisfying meal, this eatery offers an inviting atmosphere. Their customizable breakfast sandwiches are a hit, allowing patrons to choose from various breads, meats, and toppings for a personalized experience.
We're from Hawaii, and was on our 7day/7night Princess Cruise to Alaska. We took a side street to purchase liquids. We found a hidden gem called: Bites on Broadway. WOW!!! What a wonderful experience we had there. The owners were filled with the same Aloha Spirit that we are accustomed to here in Hawaii. The food was great, the desserts were incredible, but, the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The conversation was authentic & loving. Turns out, this was the BEST spot we experienced while off-shore. It is truly sad that the busses that take you around the city, will tell you that "Star Bucks" or some other watering hole is on the main street. But, the BEST watering hole is located at the end of town, hidden down a street. I'm soooo glad we found Bites on Broadway & even more elated to meet two great guys who are so authentic & loving. So, if you are REAL, and love to meet FANTASTIC people, please go check out our newest members of our Family at Bites on Broadway inSkagway, Alaska!

We walked past this spot to use the public restroom at the end of the block. It was such a cute shop and we could smell the food from outside. The gentleman inside were very nice and friendly. They went over the menu with us and we decided to have lunch here. We ordered the reindeer sausage, beef burger, and Mac & cheese. We were also very excited by the desserts but we planned on coming back inside to order coffee and treats after we ate lunch. Honestly the food was nothing to be excited about. The burger had this really pale color for beef kinda almost looked like a Turkey burger, the reindeer sausage was good but nothing special, and the Mac & cheese was sooooo disappointing. It was what appeared to be instant Kraft Mac & cheese with some pepper in it to spice it up a little. Our lunch was edible but so un-impressive that we decided to get coffee and sweet treats somewhere else. To the owners (who I think I dealt with inside) I know you can do better! I really loved the shop and the service you just have to do something about your food.

My latte was awesome and my bagel was yummy. My husbands breakfast sandwich was not eatable. He's far from picky but it was pretty bad. The egg and sausage were precooked together, which is fine, but the egg was so cooked it was almost powder. The shredded cheese was not melted and the sandwich was cold? We heated it up in our microwave but he couldn't do the dry eggs :/ Nice establishment - maybe a little confused on what they or focus is.

We stopped by here for lunch after doing a hike and float shore excursion. It was recommended by our guide and it did not disappoint. The owner was friendly and shared a lot of local history while we enjoyed freshly made croissant sandwiches. It was clear that all baked items were house made and done with great pride for what was being served. Definitely worth stopping in for a pastry if you are not hungry for a meal. I would go back.

Adorable little place with an great ambiance. Great sandwich choices and muffins were fresh. One negative: we ordered the mac and cheese and it was basically Kraft Mac and cheese. (Same noodles) I expected regular pasta with cheese , not something out of a box.

Yummy Build-Your-Own Breakfast Sandwiches! Fast service, hot food, and super friendly owners! We enjoyed their breakfast sandwiches (customized to each of our likings), and the old fashioned donuts as a sweet treat. Recommend!

When my boyfriend and I visit any location, we try and find local shops to eat at - sometimes it's hard, especially in more tourist-centric parts of town. Which is why I can't recommend this place enough. 😀 It's a walk down the main drag, but totally worth it. Savory treats, great lunch/breakfast, desserts...and the coffee is the best in town. We recommend the cheese and bacon biscuit for a quick snack! The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, as well. We'll be back!

Delicious! Adorable! The people are so friendly, all the local photography for sale on the walls and up front are beautiful Have the Monster Bagel, it's perfect! I didn't purchase anything other than food while there in the morning and later in the day returned hoping to pickup some apparel......to discover that they close at 2 ! (Pretty normal for a breakfast/coffee/lunch place) But there was 2 people there mopping the floors and they were exceptionally kind and let me make my purchase 🥰 Thank You. 2 lessons: 1. never wait - if you want it, but it now. 2. Wonderful experience here!! Great food, great coffee! Although four ships in town, and a line out the door, we were in and out if there in 45 minutes over lunch time. I had a turkey bacon ranch on ciabatta-delicious! My husband had the club wrap-delicious! The coffee drinks were the best we’ve had recently on our Alaska travels - I had an iced salted caramel latte 🤤

Warm, Whimsical, and Worth the Stop I was up early, still on East Coast time, and wandered into Glacial Coffeehouse just as they were opening. What a find! Tucked away in downtown Skagway, this cozy spot had exactly what I needed—great coffee, a solid breakfast, and a welcoming vibe. Their menu had an impressive variety of coffee drinks, breakfast sandwiches, pastries, and even some locally sourced items. I ordered an everything bagel sandwich with herb tomato cream cheese, egg, bacon, and onions—it was absolutely perfect. Fresh, flavorful, and made with care. I also grabbed a chocolate croissant, which was just the right balance of flaky and rich. The seating area was charming, with a whimsical, almost vintage feel—lots of quirky signs, warm wood tones, and that perfect mix of ’60s and ’70s music playing in the background. It all made for a relaxing and memorable start to the day. Whether you’re up early exploring or just stepping off a cruise ship, this place is absolutely worth a stop. The staff were incredibly friendly and made the whole experience feel like more than just grabbing breakfast—it felt like a pause to enjoy the moment.

Bustling coffee shop/cafe with yummy sandwiches. I had Tony Soprano which was very tasty and a good choice. My son got the. Pastrami & Swiss which had more lettuces and onions than pastrami meat IMO. We’re planning to go back for the coffee and breakfast as the choices looked really good.

Glacial Coffee House is a cozy and welcoming spot with a great vibe. The people at the counter were very friendly and helpful, and it was clear they enjoyed being there. The seating area is larger than the ordering space, with over a dozen tables, making it easy to relax. Upbeat music in the background added to the cheerful, laid-back atmosphere. The food and drinks were excellent—I ordered two sandwiches and a coffee, and everything was top-notch. The sandwiches were flavorful and well-made, and the coffee was so good we even took a bag home. They also offer a nice selection of baked goods, like cookies and other treats. Overall, it’s a place with great coffee, delicious food, and genuinely happy service. Highly recommend!

Great coffee. Friendly staff. Delicious pastry. The place offered us a nice environment, warm and cozy. Had a nice view to some old buildings and mountains. It was a warm and nice experience. We had their Chai latte and hazelnut latte. Both were very tasty. We highly recommend this stop for those visiting this side of Alaska. 💕 Skagway is pretty, hospitable and peaceful. 10/10 recommend … As so many do, we cruise for vacation, and I like to visit non tourist places for food. Here in Skagway AK there are a few tourist food places, however I only wanted local eats. Bombay Curry was the only place I wanted to try and found them before the cruise. I ordered the chicken korma(basmati rice)with butter naan and chicken samosas which looked like falafel. All of the food was delicious. My friend ordered the curry chicken which was as delicious. We also had chai tea, my first time having it, was very good. As a foodie I totally recommend that if you’re on a cruise to Skagway, try Bombay Curry. They are on Broadway and 5th just make a left. The menu has changed so they don’t have a lot of what they used to… photos attached

Nestled in the charming town of Skagway, Starfire is a beloved Thai restaurant that has captured the hearts of both locals and visitors alike. Fried rice was tasty. Service excellent. Definitely sit at the patio, much nicer and more open area. Tom Yum soup was perfect for the chilly weather! Do manage your expectations, this is Skagway with a population of 1000. So it's very good Thai food in my books!

I recently visited what I thought was a restaurant, but it turned out to be a food truck. The portion sizes were surprisingly big, and the food was really good — definitely enough to share. However, the staff wasn’t very friendly and came off as a bit rude, which was disappointing. Overall, great food and generous portions, but the service could use some improvement.
Macwin C — Google review
Wasn’t a restaurant but a food truck. Recommended by the cruise staff; we came here as we both (me and bestie) are lovers of Asian cuisine. Found out when we got there they specialized in Thai and that is her favorite. We ordered the Pad Thai (we could have just shared an order so 5 stars for serving size) and she got dumplings and I, egg rolls. While everything was tasty the rolls were super greasy (perfectly cooked though) and the dumplings were dry. It's a food truck (with another next door) so I feel like the seating was fine and it was a perfect day to eat outside.

Food was good, but the experience was disappointing. The cook was rude and disorganized — had no idea whose order was whose and snapped at the poor cashier when asked. We saw others get our food before us. Seating was limited and chaotic. Prices are typical tourist-trap high.

This place was surprising, the prices were a little high in my opinion but the food was good, I didn’t expect much when it came to Mexican food in Alaska but the Mexican food here was actually really good and the portions were large. The menu is diverse as well, one of us got a meatball sub while others got Mexican.
Daniel D — Google review
My husband and I ate here when we were on an Alaskan cruise and we LOVED it. We were initially shocked by the prices, but pleasantly surprised with the taste and quality of the food. I got the a la carte halibut tacos (subbed corn tortillas instead of flour)—amazing! The coleslaw and whatever sauce they use was perfect. My husband got chicken Parmesan and he loved it. He said it might be the best he’s ever had, and he’s a chicken parm snob so that says a lot! It’s also a great spot for people with shell fish allergies because they have so many options. AND there was no line out the door. We would definitely come back here.
Allison P — Google review
Don't be outraged about the mandatory 18% service fee for parties of 1 or more. Ignore the 3% credit card fee because of greed...what is truly appalling is the crimes against Mexican cusine. The beef tacos might be on par with Old El Paso or maybe they fall below that because it cost you $18+. The tortillas fall apart at the touch of your hand leaving a mess on your plate. Be prepared to channel George Costenza eating your tacos with a knife and fork - you'll look almost as odd as he did using those utensils to eat a KitKat. I would say stay away but the town is full of restaurants waiting to take advantage of cruise ship folk.

We were at this wonderful restaurant last week (5-20-25) while in Skagway on the Holland America cruise. The food was the best, the entire serving team great and it was a fun visit to Skagway. We were also on the train ride. Keep up the great work up there & we hope to return! Bob & Susan

Food was mediocre. I would recommend avoiding the restaurant. The prices were insane for the quality of food, compared to Apple Bee’s and not fresh. At the time of the bill we were asked if we were local or not. My group was only 2 people and they added 18% to the total as mandatory tip (even though it was labeled on the menu only adding 18% gratuity to parties of 6+). Once brought to one of the waitresses attention about the mistake for overcharging, she pointed out on a different menu at the front the 18% gratuity was whited out, making it their norm for all customers now. To make it worse, the bill says "pre tip", trying to cheat you to give them more tips. Simply disgusting and dishonest practices from a restaurant. The waitress rudely handed over what we overpaid in coins.
Aleah S — Google review
Cozy place ran by the friendliest owner Delicious food, huge portions, lots of choices - pizza, Mexican, Filipino, Greek We were a group of 8, everything tasted great and the service was very efficient and fast We will be back
Sarah G — Google review
We were so excited to have fresh salmon and visited this restaurant. Upon entering, we noted a musty smell and the decor was “homey” aka older styled. Our server kept pressing us about whether we were “local,” which we found strange. We were vacationing. Both of us ordered salmon and chips (fries) and it was -meh- about equivalent to what a vintage pizza joint might offer. Sad, because we were expecting great salmon while in Alaska. Even worse, was when we received our bill, we noted an 18% gratuity had been to it. We noticed on our menus that it said a mandatory gratuity of 18% would be added for parties of six or more, but we were just a table of TWO. When we asked the hostess about this, she argued that everyone has that charge, even though we said the menu stated otherwise. She quickly pulled out a menu near her in which the portion of the sentence regarding parties of six or more had been whited-out. It appears that this establishment routinely does this to tourists- so watch out! The hostess did give back part of the gratuity- in an aggressive manner- and all in small coins. Highly suggest going elsewhere for a more pleasant dining experience!

I decided to try the salmon fish and chips. The dose is well served. The service is quick and friendly. They have an area with tables but not exactly a building so be prepared to eat with the fresh Alaska's breeze. I spend around 28 dollars including a small juice. The menu hasn't got a great variety but has the essential and the popular Alaska food. It is very busy. I liked it but to be honest it was a one time experience.

Where to begin? Asia sent us here from Klondike brewing, and it did not disappoint. The hot sauce here is delicious! The first ingredient is kelp. It's briny, spicy, perfect for adding some spice to a seafood forward dish. We had a pound of crab legs, a poke bowl, and some oysters. The crab is a must do, so sweet and tender, "falls off the shell" very easy to pick. The salmon on the poke bowl was also amazing. Very tender super flavorful. Fresh avocado, cucumber and cabbage. The hot sauce on this with it's salt and spice was fantastic. The oysters were expensive at 3.50 each, but trying one of each was a treat. I've had oysters from all over but the saltiness and flavor concentration was incredible. Very intense, and would try again! So happy we stopped here, and definitely worth the wait.

This was the BEST!! Top recommendation from the locals and so delicious! We had the salmon, fish and chips, the cod, fish and chips, the smoked salmon chowder, the halibut ceviche, and the salmon poke bowl. Stunning. LOVED the chowder and I don’t usually love a cream based soup—huge chunks of smoked salmon, tiny, creamy potatoes—just a gem. Pretty store front with deck type seating. 10/10 mmmmmmm

We tried this place for lunch recently and had a great experience. The king crab leg and full Dungeness crab were excellent. The Dungeness crab comes with fries. My daughter enjoyed her corn dog and fries. My wife enjoyed the poke bowl. If you like cream soda, I recommend trying theirs. Not a lot of places have it on their menu, but their cream soda is some of the best I’ve had. The food was great. The outside seating was comfortable. The staff were friendly and gave great recommendations.

Recommended by the nice ladies over at the Museum. This was AMAZING seafood. Ordered the sourdough chowder bowl, salmon & Halibut fish and chips, corn dog and 1 lb of crab legs. The crab legs are weighed in the kitchen, and it was more than enough food for all of us. Crab was sweet and tender, and the rest we so good! Opal, was personable, charismatic and added to the atmosphere. I will tell EVERYONE who visits Skagway to eat here. Thank you for having us!

Everything I tried here was amazing! This was my first time having crab legs like this and they were out of this world! They also have really good fish and chips. The prices here for the crab legs are unbeatable. I cannot recommend this place enough! Good beer too!

WOW, so good and fresh. We ordered the 1lb king crab 🦀, salmon poke and the halibut chips and fries. Both the crab and the halibut came with fries but they will sub for either potato salad or coleslaw. The salmon pie did NOT taste or smell fishy at all, so so good. The hubby ordered the Woadies OG Lager and got the local root beer, we enjoyed both! Fun atmosphere, covered dining and jammin music. Also clean bathrooms. It is picnic table seating, be prepared to share a table but it is covered with heaters.
