Expensive for very very bland food. Entire menu is Vegetarian with great environment and service. They have all ingredients right accept taste to the food, paid $7 change for an oat meal coffee, TBH big mistake, should have gone to Geelong and had something for much lesser. Will try avoiding this venue.

Busy but relaxed cafe with good service. Seating inside or outside to suit the weather. You should be able to find a tasty snack from the simple menu. However the thick shack was not thick, it was the same as a milkshake.

Don't forget to order toasted burrito, one of the best I ever had , you won't be disappointed and a normal eggs on toast , made to perfection. Don't miss the coffee, you'll surely comeback for the other

Went with my partner and some friends last weekend and had such a great time! The vibes were super warm and welcoming, the food was absolutely delicious, and the coffee was spot on. You can really feel the good energy from the new management/owners, they’re doing a fantastic job. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area… and honestly, even if you’re not, it’s worth the drive!

This place is a hidden gem in Torquay! I loved it so much that I visited twice in two days. The staff are super friendly, the food is delicious and the cafe itself is perfect for meeting up with friends or spending time reading or catching up on work. We googled best F&C in Torquay & this place was top of the list. We wanted takeaway but it wasn't advertised very well so we sat in. We ordered just the basic fish & chips $25. Wow, just wow!! The fish was so fresh, the batter was so light & I the tatar sauce - well I just wanted more for the house made chips...

THE BEST FISH AND CHIPS EVER. I know you hear this often but a simple order of fish and chips was anything but. The order was quick to the table. The fish was fresh, well cooked and had a crispy batter. The hand cut chips were rustic and perfectly cooked. All round very enjoyable experience.

Love this resturant, my third visit and always an excellent feed. Standard menu where the fish is so fresh, crisply cooked and excellent with multiple choices of fish and a variety of specialty extra option's. For me this ranks for fish and chips including across Australia and overseas. Can't beat a beer with a fry up. So good.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We ducked into Frontbeach Taphouse on a chilly winter day and could not have picked a better spot. The cosy interior and gas fireplace made it feel instantly welcoming. Service was friendly and efficient and the menu was packed with delicious options. Our table ordered the halloumi and beetroot salad with added squid which was absolutely amazing. The pan fried gnocchi was just as good as it sounds, rich, comforting and full of flavour. The kids demolished their burgers in record time which is always a good sign. A great find in Torquay and we will definitely be back.

Nice taphouse - good selection of beers, nice snacks, good atmosphere. I had a Better Beer-Battered Rockling and it was good, nothing special. One complaint though: the waitress took my plate away although I had my cutlery placed on the plate showing that I was not finished … working in service one should be familiar with that kind of thing.

The location was great with a beautiful view — definitely a highlight. The fries were nice and crispy, but the coffee was just okay and the chai latte was disappointing. It didn’t quite meet the expectations set by the place itself. I might come back for the view, but I hope they improve their coffee standards.

Quite a cosy restaurant with sufficient space, and there were enough seats for all of us. Service was excellent and all the meals arrived within a reasonably good time enabling us to enjoy our lunch. The food itself was amazing and was sufficient enough to fill an adult. Food portions were good, and also wasn't too pricey. Overall, a splendid experience.

Last night , as a treat we ordered a meal . It was extremely expensive and disappointing. The caesar salad looked like it was 3 days old and from a pre-packaged supermarket. The quality was terrible. The lettuce was translucent and brown. Limp and looked old. I contacted the restaurant as soon as we got it home . The supervisor said he would quickly chat with his manager then call me back. I never got that call back. .. I then took the salad into the restaurant tonight to show them . Nothing but an apology was offered and a free salad for next time we come. Sorry but that is such a joke. Obviously I'll never go back. You are charging top dollar for your food. And it's just not up to standard. Your staff have shown absolutely no care. No customer care. A refund would be the bare minimum. Give this restaurant a miss.

OH WHAT A SHAME I’ve dined at Squires Loft several times over the years. While the service has never been outstanding, the food has usually made up for it — until tonight. Unfortunately, this visit was a huge disappointment. From the moment we tried to book, it felt like a chore for “Moosa,” the so-called host. His attitude was dismissive from the start. When my meal arrived — a 300g Scotch fillet ($59) — about a third of it was simply inedible due to excessive fat, tough enough that even my knife struggled to cut through. I pointed it out and showed Moosa, who simply responded with “ok” and a smug smile. I wasn’t expecting a refund or compensation, but his rude and careless attitude was not what you’d expect from any restaurant, let alone one at this price point. Sadly, my family and I have decided to cross Squires Loft Torquay off our list. There are so many great local options offering both excellent food and friendly service, I would highly recommend looking elsewhere. 1/100 for Moosa. 2/5 for the restaurant.

I visited on Thursday night with my family to celebrate my birthday and we ordered the Black Angus Porterhouse, Scotch Fillet, and Porterhouse with mushroom sauce and chips. We also had the Greek salad and a bowl of greens. The dessert apple crumble was my fave part. The food was absolutely delicious, the waitress and staff were warm and friendly, and the atmosphere was cosy and inviting. I’ll definitely be returning!

Felt right at home from the moment we walked in. The owner and staff were so welcoming and clearly doing their best to look after everyone, even with a full house. We had the Angus scotch with a prawn skewer & Tomahawk—absolutely delicious and cooked perfectly. Sitting by the fireplace made it even more special—warm, cozy, and just a beautiful vibe. So proud to have a local gem like this in Torquay. Great food, great service—highly recommend!

My partner and I had a wonderful time at Squires Loft Torquay. We shared the 1.2kg Black Angus T-bone, cooked to perfection and full of flavour. It was beautifully paired with a glass of Oakdene Pinot Noir, which complemented the steak superbly. The service was warm and friendly, making the whole experience even better. We’ll definitely be back!

This is probably the first restaurant that met all my requirements. The table in the corner near the fireplace was ideal, the staff was very friendly, told about the menu and the service was top notch. The food was prepared quickly enough and delicious. I celebrated my birthday and was pleased with everything. Also the atmosphere is cozy, subdued lighting, chic chandeliers, fireplace. Highly recommended. Prices are above average, but this restaurant is for a special occasion.

I visited the restaurant for dinner over the weekend and was unfortunately disappointed by the lack of professionalism, particularly from the young lady managing the floor. Additionally, I noticed the staff seemed to be treated poorly, which was disheartening to witness. This was surprising given the restaurant’s usual reputation for providing a refined and enjoyable fine dining experience. I hope to see improvements in management and staff treatment on future visits.

Ordered the seafood platter. Was serviced prawns instead of the Moreton Bay bug without even being informed. When asked where the bugs where, they simply said there is a shortage of bugs so they swapped them for prawns instead. When I raised that I have seen dishes coming out of the kitchen with the bugs, they said it is available for the seafood linguine. So I asked why is it available for the linguine but not for my platter. Finally the served us two halves of two clearly different bugs. There was no apology, just arrogance from the staff. Food was below average, the prawns, bugs and salmon were overcooked. Terrible service especially on a day there is a 15% surcharge.

Took my wife here for her birthday and we really enjoyed our visit. The food and service were excellent and staff frequently checked in on us. Food and drink came out quickly too. We were visiting Torquay with our dog and didn’t want to leave him at the hotel, we sat outside and were worried it might get cold, but the gas heaters kept us nice and warm. Will definitely be back.

This place truly delivers on every level – delicious food, excellent service, and a stunning view that makes the experience even better. The atmosphere was calm and inviting, perfect for a relaxing breakfast stop. I enjoyed a cappuccino and a very strong caramel latte that instantly woke me up. Their big breakfast was absolutely sensational! SO SO good! We called last minute and they were able to seat us on a large table inside. We were so grateful because it was a cold and rainy winter day. Latte was also delicious!

Went to Bomboras for the first time this morning and Padre’s cafe. I had eggs Benedict which was amazing the Hollandaise/bernaise sauce was yummy and cooked perfectly. The green breakfast salad (see below)was equally well made. Coffees from Padre were nice as well. Great service, food and view. Many thanks.

We have been to Bomboras multiple times and we think their seafood linguini is the best. Sadly, we were told today that their new menu from 1st September will not have this option. Very disappointed!

Blackman’s Brewery, Torquay — Real Ones Know First thing first: The beers at Blackman’s? Solid. Reliable. Good times in a glass. They’ve got a great range of craft beers, seltzers, and other brews to match whatever mood you’re in. (Cider girlies and seltzer kings, you’re covered too.) The food? Mostly Mexican-style dishes with a solid lineup of wood-fired pizzas. It’s good — keep you happily snacking between beers. The vibe though? Elite. Casual, relaxed, everyone’s welcome. Friends, families, couples, babies in tiny bucket hats — there’s space for everyone. Big indoor and outdoor areas, chill music, and a crowd that feels more “Torquay locals” Live music was playing when I went — such a nice touch. The staff? Laid-back friendly team. Quick service. Bottom line: Blackman’s Torquay is a place you come to relax, laugh too loudly, sip something nice, and forget about your to-do list for a bit.

The brewery looked dark from the outside and we almost didn’t enter, but I’m very glad we did! We sampled 6 beers in the tasting paddle and several were among the best of their kind we have ever tried! The ginger beer and cider are also amazing! It is a very family friendly environment with a mini golf course attached and a sandpit outside for young children and the staff are very friendly and accommodating. We had lunch here having nachos and the chicken burrito bowl, both being very delicious too. I’m glad we walked to this side of town and ate here!

The team are friendly and nice Good vibes Cold chips and burnt margherita pizza. I didn't want to say anything as they were busy. Not great for basic 101 food even though they were busy. Last year when we came there were tacos which were great and all good for big table were warm. Disappointing food today but still good vibe. Check out kitchen operations and equipment.

This was my first visit to Blackmans Brewery in Torquay, and while I was looking forward to it, I left disappointed by the unprofessional conduct of one staff member. We sat outside in the undercover area with heaters, but the heaters at our table and the one beside us kept switching off. I tried restarting them and even helped the table next to us, but with no success, so I turned the gas off to make them safe. When a staff member came out, she spent some time struggling to get them going. After waiting, I mentioned that the gas had been turned off. Instead of acknowledging this, she replied with, “I know what I’m doing,” in a condescending tone and gave a dismissive look to her coworker. It felt unnecessarily rude and unprofessional. She then went back inside without fixing our heater and didn’t return for quite some time. Sitting in the cold was not an option, especially as I’m pregnant, and unfortunately the space inside didn’t cater for our large group to sit together — through no fault of their own — so we had no choice but to leave. When I later asked the table next to us why she hadn’t turned ours back on, they said they didn’t want to be involved in “drama,” and that she had remarked “she can get her own one going.” This was very disappointing and upsetting to hear, as it implied she had been gossiping about me. I understand hospitality is a tough industry — I’ve worked in it for many years — but professionalism and respect are non-negotiable. Sadly, this staff member fell short. It is especially saddening as this same female staff member has been mentioned in previous poor reviews, and the venue is condoning her mistreatment of their guests.

Wanted to go there for a while and the place is really nice and accomodating. The food we ordered was really good, very tasty and the fish was beautiful. Love the tacos - would love more prawns in it tough. The place wasn’t that busy for a Father’s Day however they took some time to take the orders. We got the kids fish and chips instead of the classic one so we had to wait for our dish. We also ordered churros which we never got. The drinks were great and my husband loved the paddle - and the Prosecco was perfect for a warm sunny day I will try the grovedale one next time.

A wonderful place for a refreshment at the start of The Great Ocean Road.....And of course another of our brewery visits. The staff was lovely and welcoming and the whole brewery had a fun feel. We visited on a quiet Thursday lunch and I was driving so a small bevy for me. But the Pilzner was lovely. But we'd had Blackman's Brewery brews elsewhere and they are super tasty.

Really disappointed with the food. Ordered the beef burrito bowl and was served pork. Tried to send it back but the chef insisted it was beef and said it was just the way it's cooked. As I am a chef myself, I know that this was a blatant lie and that they are clearly just using up the pulled pork because they had it on the menu two weeks ago. I know how both cook, pull and taste. Not sure what kinda magic they think they're doing where beef turns into pork but I'm not impressed and this is especially bad for people who can't eat pork (for religious reasons as one example). Appalling. Would recommend a new chef.

Seafood pack and a few potato cakes for $42, all decent. Crispy fish, great potato cakes (I'd say not purchased elsewhere as they're exactly the same as potato cakes from Queenscliff boat pier fish & chip shop. Calamari is especially delicious. Few benches and tables out the front, clean setup inside and decent opening hours. My only complaint would be tiny scallops that don't really stick to the batter and the fish we got was listed as butterfish but was actually blue grenadier. Still flavourful but heads up if you have a preference, maybe best to confirm the fish in the packs. Would happily return for some more f&c goodness.

Small shop on the main street doing excellent fish and chips. Nice staff, clean shop, speedy service. We bought a seafood pack for two and took it to the beach. Crispy chips, great fish, scallops, calamari and prawns. We'll be back again!

When asked for fried, it's nice, but you feel the excessive greasiness once it starts to cool off. When asked for grilled and unbatterred, I was advised that it wasn't unbatterred, they needed to dip it in flour to stop it sticking to the grill. The fish came out undercooked in the middle to stop it drying out. They don't wrap it in foil too keep it juicy when cooking, despite charging an extra dollar for grilling? What did I pay an extra dollar for?

Best fish and chips I have had in a very long time. The flake had a beautiful crispy coating while the actual fish was cooked to perfection! Potato cakes and chips were not oily and had a perfect crunch! Thank you for a delicious lunch!

Absolutely delicious fusion pho spot by the beach! We ordered the Sukiyaki Beef Pho and Tom Yum Beef Pho and both were incredibly flavourful and unique. The sukiyaki fusion with pho was a standout, perfect for cold weather and the tom yum pho had the perfect balance of tangy and spicy, highly recommended if you love bold flavours! Also, don’t miss the Tuna Tartare Bao on Crispy Rice, it was amazing! The crispy rice base with creamy tuna on top was just perfect in both taste and texture. The place was pretty busy, especially on a chilly day but sipping hot soup while it’s cold out was such a nice experience. Also, The restaurant is right by the beach, so you can relax with a drink and chill out after your meal. Perfect combo of good food, good vibes, and sea breeze.

I’ve been curious about Pholklore for a while, so I finally decided to give it a try — and I’m so glad I did. I had their spicy BBH, and it was honestly delicious. The broth was light and fresh but still packed with flavour, with a nice tang and just the right kick to make it interesting. I personally would’ve liked it a bit spicier, but it was great that they offered fresh chilli on the side, so I could adjust it to my liking. I ordered the regular size and it was surprisingly filling — perfect portion. I also loved how generous they were with the herb plate (lemon, bean shoots, basil), which made the bowl even more satisfying. For the quality and serving size, I’d say it’s definitely worth the price. The staff were also so friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better.

Super helpful and friendly staff, fantastic atmosphere - it was quite busy for a Wednesday afternoon and for good reason.. the prawn spring rolls were other worldly, I could've eaten just those and left happy but also tried the tuna tartare on crispy rice cakes and the pork sisig, both incredible but those fresh spring rolls were top tier. Lots of options made it hard to choose as everything sounded amazing. Went for a snack and left unable to finish the meal..

Visited on a stunning Torquay day on a Thursday lunchtime and this place was busy. Found a spot looking out to the water and could easily order via the QR code at the table. Drinks were great and spring rolls are delicious - make sure you get the lettuce and herbs to wrap them in. Quick service and overall great vibe

A WELL OILED MACHINE. We stopped in here for lunch and a coffee. It was PACKED and my first thought was maybe we’ll just have a look and see how we go because we won’t get a table and the wait for food will be too long. Within 20 minutes we had finished our food. The staff here couldn’t be more efficient. The food was top notch and the Latte was the best I’ve had for a long time.

I went with my husband for a brunch in the middle of our road trip and we loved the vibe of the place, mostly the dogs and view. The food was great, just the bread a little small but its because we usually eat a lot haha. I recommend it 100%, we spent such a great time there :)

Beach, coffee, food, loads of parking. All together. This beachfront cafe serves a good variety of food and drink. We got the chicken burger, fish and chips, kids waffles, and snickers smoothie. No complaints when both food and drinks come quick and taste great! You spin around and enjoy the ocean views while you eat. Finished your meal then walk 20m to the beach! Love it!

I've eaten here a few times and Meals are always delicious, well sized and fresh. I always find something to suit my dietary requirements of gluten-free. The aspect of sitting overlooking the beach is simply perfect at anytime of year. Toilets are available. Great with kids, dogs, groups or solo. Offer takeaway and dine-in.

My wife and I had a lovely dining experience with Graham and the crew tonight. The steak sauce was divine and the passsionfruit dessert with smokey coffee flavours was quite unique. The restaurant is conscious in its use of ingredients to achieve zero wastage and the food done by these skillful chefs gets you wanting more.

This is, without a doubt, the best restaurant in Torquay. Samesyn deserve more than 5/5. They focus on low waste dining and take the time to tell you all about their concept soon after you're seated. You'll only be served by the chefs; there are no waiters/waitresses. Make sure you have your phone as printed menu's aren't available. Food wise: highly recommend the tasting menu. It is too difficult to say what the best dish was because they were all amazing. Great value for money at $99 per person (it's slightly more if you want the duck).

We had dinner here last Friday night. We loved hearing the concept of the restaurant and were keen to try a variety of dishes. The stand outs were the Best tartare and the smoked deer. Only down to the me was the beef, too much fat and not rendered down enough. Finished off with the best duck fat caramel I've had! Great dinner date location, highly recommend.

We had the most beautiful dining experience tonight. Underpinned by an incredible ethos, that isn’t just talk but backed by action. We did the tasting menu and so glad we did. I’m vegan and my partner isn’t, and they accommodated wonderfully. The food was creative, delicious and for us, tasted even better knowing it had minimal waste behind it. Being served by the chef’s was fantastic, Jonty has such a genuine energy and welcoming service, and it really made our night. Please extend our thanks to the whole back of house team, it takes passionate people to do what you do and we feel grateful to have experienced a night at samesyn. 11/10 recommend. We can’t wait to visit again. Edit: Came back with friends tonight for a birthday, and can confidently say it was just as good as our first time if not better. 12/10 recommend. I messed up my booking and was salty i had to pay a fee, but i felt guilty as soon as i discovered what this restaurant does - its a purpose driven restaurant that gives their profit for a cause and has no general waste bin. Its not even halfway through the year but i thinj this is the best restaurant ive enjoyed in 2025 Their roast duck is just perfect - the instant euphoria easily tops even some lf melbourne’s best ducks. And the dairy cow with garrum butter has this earthy rich tone that you cant shake off literally and in your mind. Everything was so unique, its reinvented recycled foods that has been elevated and never done before. (food thats been resurrected, its the perfect easter feed). Look some dishes took me time to figure out like the chewy carrot thats pretty much dried up but becomes this caramelised bitter yet sweet notes. Kangaroo was rich yet light with an egg yolk that still has that creaminess but is curated in a pureed form?? They are using features of overlooked ingredients that we’d usually discard, and instead are preserving and reimagining food Whats prettier than a restaurant that wastes food is a no waste restaurant

I recently visited Cafe El Nido and while the coffee was quite nice, my meal unfortunately missed the mark. My friend’s dish looked absolutely delicious, but my ham, cheese, and tomato croissant was a bit of a letdown. I’ll take some responsibility for not noticing that it came with chutney on the menu, but the sweetness really threw it off for me. On top of that, it had been pressed flat in a sandwich press, leaving it overcooked and a bit burnt. Overall, it was pretty disappointing, though I’d still consider coming back for the coffee and maybe to try something different next time.

First impression makes the conclusion, good ambiance, tasty brunch, and friendly staff. First experience with bunch of friends, we have tried few things in the menu, they look and taste delicious, also reasonable price. It’s a good place for a brunch during a road trip In the area, a hangout place while having a nice meal, and good coffee. Highly recommended. ;D

I went there just a few days ago. They're very lucky to have Mikaela at their team. I have many allergies, and she was always willing to help me. Her service was excellent. She a great worker! Also, many thanks to the chef for making sure I was happy and preparing a meal just for me.

On the special menu ‘Palabok’, shrimp was so savoury, crispy and so flavourful. Got a hot mocha and then out of curiosity, we tried their cold coffee drink and the iced coffee was absolutely so good. Must try! Staff are so friendly and accommodating. You can dine-in/take-away/online orders and bookings. The place is nice, it’s just near the gasoline station and an outdoor seating ready.

This is located in Woolworth Torquay, easy to get to, ample parking space and not too hectic. The staffs were nice, good service, ample spaces in between tables and had take away window for quick cake and coffee. The food is Asian inspired (Filipino) and has good portions. We ordered the smoothies , Chicken Caesar wrap and Filo breakfast. The service was quick, fresh, well seasoned and generous portions. There are indoor and outdoor seatings and window for take aways.

Love this cafe. Been there several times only for coffee and finally had breakie which looked at the next table the other day, wanted to try. It was great, the burger. So tasty and crispy. They also have nice coffee too. It's just my personal preference, am not top fan of coffee too sour nor burnt smell. Coffee was nice with great flavor and strong. Recommendable. Sure other food on the menu is good too. Always the one menu simply tells me everything, others will be good too.

Prices across the market are very reasonable, especially considering the quality and freshness of the produce. It’s clear that the vendors take pride in what they offer, and many are happy to chat and share information about their goods. If you're in the area on a market day, Torquay Farmers Market is well worth a visit. Highly recommended for food lovers and families alike.

Cute little market with lots of local produce for sale. Small range of food, enough for us to have a small picnic in the grass area. The borek is a MUST try!! The giant spring roll was also delicious.

Its very small but it does have some great fresh produce. Most things are expensive but of high quality. Standouts for me are the donuts.

It's a really nice market, not a big one, but it has a lot of really good quality products. My favourite would have to be the 'taste of tibet' - best fresh rice paper rolls ever, which goes so well with their amazing fresh home made chilli sauce - I've visited the market just for these and their momos are really good too. Other delights at the market include delicious hand made giant fried spring rolls, fluffy and not too sweet custard donuts, sauces, jams, cheese, fresh produce, fresh flowers etc. There's a grass patch where you can picnic with your own mat or make a seat from a few available milk crates. Parking spots are quite tight but you should be able to find one considering the in/out traffic flows.

Just a quick stop before heading to Apollo Bay. Bought fresh fruits and veges and they are super cheap. Also variety of products to be choose. And an ATM also placed there.

Fresh fruit and vegetables Artisan cheese Berries Coffee Bread Olives and olive oil Fresh juice Artistic jewellery Pictures Cordial Durkah Dog treats Timber items Fish monger Farmers meat Sewn gifts All the main things you'd generally need. You won't need to be here for very long to see everything. Easy to drag around the kids or your partner.

We weren’t local and by the amount of people at 8:30am on a Sunday - it gave great vibes so we went here. THE BEST ALMOND CAPP I’ve ever had! It was so creamy. Waitress was friendly. Prices decent. Also got the Reuben Toastie- YUM!! Would go back when visiting again.

Was in Torquay for the weekend and came in for a bite and coffee and the place was bustling. Managed to find a table inside but they did not seem to have any high chairs. Regardless, ordered coffees and two toasted - ham and cheese and bacon and egg and a service of scrambled eggs on toast. Food came out super quick and it was delicious, must say, the bacon and egg toastie was sooooo good with the tomato relish and all.

This place was pretty good! The menu was simple but the food was yummy and well priced. The servers were efficient and weren't rude.The vibes are really cool here!

Love this awesome cafe. The food is unique to the Cafe and not a repeat of the other places in Torquay. I tried the Ruben, and oh my gosh the beef was the most delicious corned beef I have ever tasted. The coffee is great, and I highly recommend any of the baked treats they have at the counter. Check out the painting on the side of the building while you're there!

Beautiful food, coffee and atmosphere. Yet, the cafe cancels all that out by not having a toilet on premises. In fact, the nearest toilet is all the way across a shopping centre car park. This disgraceful public toilet is an appetite suppressant. As such, I may consider Mavis Mavis again for a take-away, but never as an eat-in. Thank you for a lovely sandwich, and please do seriously consider making room for a loo on premises.

Love this place. Friendly staff and the cafe is a gem. Understated and delivers above and beyond. Simple menu but the staff deliver big flavoured toasties with love more than what the menu reads. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed by the lovely couple who own and run the restaurant. Their hospitality was exceptional — genuine, attentive, and made us feel like family. The ambiance is cozy, modern, and thoughtfully designed, creating the perfect environment to unwind after a long drive. Now to the food — every single dish we ordered was a star on its own, yet together they created an unforgettable feast. We tried the Punjabi Chicken Curry, Chicken Tikka Masala, and Palak Paneer — each dish was rich in flavour, perfectly spiced, and tasted authentically home-cooked. The Lacha Paratha, Butter Naan, and Garlic Naan were soft, fresh, and the ideal companions to scoop up every last bite of those delicious gravies. You can truly taste the love and care put into each dish. It’s rare to find such balance — flavor, presentation, portion size, and atmosphere — all ticking the right boxes. The curries here are so good. Having eaten curry all around the word I can say Lentils knock out a good one. Nice vibe and friendly servers. Spice level does vary depending on who’s in the kitchen (mild can be spicy), and wait times can get high on busy nights. But would recommend to anyone.

We have always loved getting takeaway and dining at this Indian Restaurant so I thought I would ask them to cater for my mum 80th birthday on the weekend. We were completely overwhelmed from the service from the start to the end. such great communication and such great value for money, the food was delivered hot, at the time I asked them to deliver it and everyone loved it there was an abundance of Condiments to go with every item. The value for money was outstanding. I am super thrilled with their service and highly recommend them.

I ordered through Uber eats and showed estimated time for delivery was 9:50 pm. Didn’t received anything until 10:19pm while they so clever to mark it as delivered at 9:50pm. Most dissatisfied was chicken biryani I think I was eating chicken pulao and was too spicy. Overall I am not happy with the food and delivery done by the restaurant where they can manipulate.

Authentic Indian Flavours As an Indian, it's not always easy to find restaurants that truly capture the essence of home-style Indian flavours — but this place absolutely delivered. A hidden gem, it's clearly well-loved by locals, and now we know why! We came in around 5:30 pm, which was perfect — any later and you might be waiting for a table. The indoor seating area is small and cozy, but there’s potential for more outdoor seating during warmer months, which would definitely help with the crowd. We ordered Chicken 65, Aloo Paratha, and Chicken Biryani — each dish was bursting with flavour and cooked to perfection. The biryani, in particular, was a standout — fragrant, spicy, and comforting. That said, our only disappointment was with the service. While we understand the place was buzzing and likely understaffed, the tone and attitude of the staff member taking orders could have been more courteous. We chose to order starters first before deciding on mains. Also let's not forget, even after correcting twice before you processed to the kitchen you got the wrong order. It happens. Politeness shouldn’t be compromised, even in busy moments. We hope this was just a one-off, because the food was truly exceptional, and we’d love to return. If you're after real Indian taste in torquay— this is the spot.

We have been to Mexico and all the mission districts in Cali and these are the best Guac and house made tortilla chips ever!!! Hands down most delicious Mexican we have had in Aus. The Birra tacos were so good I didn’t get a chance to make a photo of them. Seriously sooooooo gooood!!!!

Unexpectedly delicious! The place looks pretty ordinary but the food was incredible. Had the birria, beef, prawn and fish tacos. And the loaded fries. Flavourful beef, juicy prawns. Crispy birria tacos. Lovely waitstaff as well.

Big big love for Perla Taco's! Food truck came to our event and was a winner all round, food was ace, everyone very happy and all the organising beforehand was a breeze. Would definitely recommend!

Stumbled upon this restaurant by chance and was surprised by the delicious prawn tacos! Ordered a Palermo cocktail as well and it made our 'unplanned lunch' that much better! We were also greeted with a lovely lady who was so cheerful and friendly even though she was extremely busy attending to everything in the front by herself and only 2 kitchen staff. If you're in the area, definitely worth dropping by here for some good Mexican food! Wish we have a second stomach for more 😋

Friendly welcoming staff, quick service and delicious food. It was a fantastic meal alongside some great cocktails, and the suggestion made by our waiter was spot on.

This sandwich shop is quite unique because it’s right next to a grocery store, and all the ingredients used in the sandwiches come from there. So if you like any of the fillings, you can buy them directly from the store. The ingredients are very fresh, though the flavors didn’t quite suit my taste. Still, I’d recommend it to those who enjoy Mediterranean-style delights.

I was really looking forward to visiting this place, but I ended up a bit disappointed. The food is good, but not great. The meatball sub was average ,a bit plain in my opinion, maybe it needed some garlic or spices. The mortadella fresca was okay, a bit plain too, but better than the sub. It’s nice to see a place offering such a wide range of Italian products, though. Overall, I don’t think I would come back.

House made pasta was absolutely mouthwatering… we were in shock of how delicious it was! The service was great and quick, the restaurant gives homey Italian feels. Such a beautiful hidden gem for Torquay!

I’ve been twice to mortadeli and enjoyed it each time. After returning from Italy last year I wanted to find similar sandwiches with simple fresh and delicious ingredients…..this is the place. Has a wonderful chilled ‘50s vibe to the sandwich and pasta bar. Staff are friendly and service good. I ordered the Pastrami and my sister, the Mortadella Fresca…..both of us enjoyed and found filling. Great place Thanks for bringing a slice of Italy to our area.

A popular place so bookings are recommended. The front outdoor tables make a perfect lunch spot. For a light lunch, oysters with pomegranate vinaigrette were delish. Cured kingfish was thicker sliced than usual, giving more flavour. Turkish beef ravioli - very small parcels - presented on creamy yogurt was a totally new concept & flavour, getting a big tick. Service from multiple hosts was warm & friendly.

Kyn is hard to miss, bright yellow umbrellas right across the beach serving middle- eastern cuisine. Quality of the ingredients is exceptional, very well thought out and original dishes as well as delectable cocktails! Staff are also very friendly and accommodating. Every dish was so full of flavour, fresh and the quality of all the food was tasty! Standout dishes were the focaccia with stracciatella and dukkah, chicken pate and the beef cheeks with hummus.

Food was very tasty and presented beautifully. I'd highly recommend the school prawns, the pan dried haloumi, spiced duck, shoestring fries and the parfait for dessert. We came for our wedding anniversary and were generally very impressed. Only one small stuff up with the food, but it kind of turned out for the better as even though each thing wasn't massive, it was certainly filling. We've already been recommending the kyn to our friends.

Swell Cafe, Jan Juc, was a really great discovery, with great variety of food, especially my poached eggs and gluten free bread, drinks & treats, on my trip to Torquay and Bells Beach. The staff were lovely and there is indoor and outdoor seating. It’s not a secret as there was hardly a spare table!

My partner and I had lunch here recently and it was delightful. My partner ordered the beef burger which he said was really good and I ordered the crispy chicken burger which was super delicious, and they were also accommodating to my request to remove an item for the burger that I couldn't have. We will definitely return next time we are in the area

As a local I love popping in here, the drinks and food are always great! The service is a let down, particularly a few staff members acting dismissive, cold and rude. This has to be my experience each time I attend the cafe, I also have spoken with a few mates who have advised similarly. Perhaps the team need to have a sit down chat or management need to create a stronger and more positive work place culture in which allow staff to feel happy and supported. This would allow for a positive shift in attitude. All in all the cafe is a great however improvements are much needed!

Clearly a popular place amongst the local residents, the cafe even has a small collection of pantry staples for sale. The hash I had was delicious and portions generous. Coffee was great. Lovely atmosphere of families coming and going. Parking easily available up front.

I'm absolutely enamored by the cozy atmosphere of this place! The menu boasts an impressive array of options, and every dish I've sampled has been a true delight. But hands down, their sourdough bread steals the show. It's a must-try recommendation from me!

Really nice food and staff. Has a nice vibe in the restaurant. Menu changes every day seems like they have things on the menu for a few days but the menu does change every day. You can find the menu 4pm on their instagram. They recommend reservations. If the calamari burger is ever on the menu get it. Genuinely one of the best burgers I've ever had.

We had an 8pm booking last night and chose the first 4 listed pasta dishes to share, garlic bread (best garlic bread any of us have tried) cos salad, and crème brûlée and sticky date pudding for dessert. Everything was delicious. Can totally agree with why the ragu is always on the menu, the larger pieces of beef were so tender and tasty and the sauce was amazing. Excellent idea on why the menu changes daily, we will definitely be going back to try new offerings. Was a very loud environment and I’m just guessing that everyone was raving about how good the food was 😁

Small Italian eatery with limited but stunning food, great wines and efficient service. Limited seating, booking required. Extremely offensive and threatening E-mails leading up to your meal are a major let down, only to be followed by a delightful post meal E-mail suggesting you give them a good review.

Love this little place in Torquay. Their menu changes everyday and is updated on their insta daily. I would recommend booking as it is quite a popular place. They make fresh pasta and they are all so different then what you get in your average Italian restaurants. There are good vego and vegan options as well. The staff is friendly and ambience is nice and cosy. You can tell that a lot of thought and love has gone into this place and it's menu. Do not miss this gem

A brilliant small restaurant rocking it. Instant greeting and seating. Small daily menu on the blackboard with small & large plates. Wine list heavily weighted to Italian labels. Chicken liver pate, so creamy and light. Anchovy & peperonata on crouton, crunchy & great flavour. Grilled octopus with radicchio, smoky & fresh to the palate. Pappardelle with wagu beef ragu. Wow! No wonder this dish is a constant on the menu. Melt in your mouth beef, silky pasta and rich deliciousness. Chocolate mouse to finish, topped with crunchy nibs. A small kitchen of two & a front of house of two, doing amazing food and service. Very highly recommended

Highly recommend getting your fruit and veg from here. Down from MLB and have stopped here on a couple of occasions. The fruit is delicious a little more expensive than the supermarkets but worth it. Also the ready made meals look and are delicious.

Shop at peaches all of the time, costs a bit more than the supermarkets but the produce is a lot better. It is a pity that I had a poor experience there this week. I have been buying 2 kilo boxes of cherries from them for the past 2 weeks costing $50 a box, not bad value. This week the same cherries are costing $80 a box, a bit of Xmas gouging I think.

Without doubt the most amazing green grocer ever. If you happen to be lucky enough to live near here (we were passing through), you are definitely very lucky. Amazingly fresh and pride in local produce. Fastidious shop. This kind of operation takes soooo much effort and a never ending commitment. The highest of praise is fitting to a place like this.

There are things I absolutely love about Peachs and things I dislike enough to make me shop elsewhere. Firstly, the LIKES: Great quality produce and local wherever possible with low levels of packaging. Fabulous! The young staff at the counter readily help you and you get flowers valued at $10 or less for purchases over $100. I mean the selection is limited however it's a lovely offer. Lastly, since the refurb, the layout is especially good and the ambience is nice. The DISLIKES: the prices seem to be going up and up and quite a few of the staff seem stressed all the time. I repeatedly got charged for things by mistake and the last time I visited I received a $15 refund just from overcharges on a $110 spend! This happened too frequently although perhaps I'm unlucky. The organic section is relatively small considering the high cost of goods. I would expect organic for the price. I was a regular, shopping here for 3+ years (before and after the refurb) spending approx. $100-$200 on a single shop. Lastly, despite being a regular and spending a fair bit here, I once asked for a bunch of grapes or a one-item donation (from the 'discarded' section out the back, not prime produce) for a local charity event but got rejected pretty abrasively. I spend my $100-$200 elsewhere nowadays. Saying no is all good, however there is a pleasant way to do it!

Amazing store stocked with the highest quality craft beers and wines. The staff are always incredible with their advice and recommendations. Their local wine range is as good as ive ever seen and SO comprehensive. Range of wines is excellent with a strong bias for regional wines. Wine review labels are always a good choice indicator if you are in a hurry. My go-to shop for wines on the Surfcoast ahead of Dan and the chains.

Have definitely improved their craft beer range over the last year or so. Started to shop here now because of that. Keep it up. Find staff are pretty good without being excellent. Still enjoy coming here however.
