Absolutely adorable and cosy tea house, with comfortable sofa chairs crammed into the upper floor. Strong WiFi as well, hence the number of people with laptops. Female staff member today a bit terse. Lovely masala chai, thought I like a tiny bit spicier. Able to recharge my phone and relax. There’s also outdoor seating. Good lounge music and vibes. Limited cake selection.
Very lovely place. This Tea house is the garden soul . I can compare it with Narnia. You can find here hospitality, respect, chill out and lounge vibes.
I would like to have here a new fresh and clean blankets( because its not fresh and its used, old), some snacks , small food. There is no air conditioner as well .

Amazing place inside Vermanes garden. Super cosy with a fireplace inside. They have quite big selection of tea. You can grab here a coffee, cocktail or a shot of alcohol. Place definitely worth visiting. Staff is very friendly and you will enjoy your time here.
This was easily my favorite place to spend time in Riga. It's in a quiet corner of the beautiful Vērmanes dārzs, next to the pavilion where young and old alike meet up to spend the day talking and playing games. It was particularly convenient to play chess in that area and come back here to rest. I visited it every day of my trip, really a secret haven.
I love a friendly waiter here🫶🏻 She was really nice and kind. I also love the beverage. It was a seasonal menu but she gladly made one for me. The place was so lovely as well. I had a great time studying in the place!

Loved this tea house! The vibe is super cool and chill and it’s the perfect spot for a great cup of tea.
There is a wide choice of different teas and you can see there is a lot of thought and knowledge about the different kind of teas prepared, so you can be sure you will enjoy it.
The place is very cozy and the relaxing music played creates a beautiful atmosphere and makes you feel like you’re home.
There are also some board games you can play and I loved the Totoro Uno cards! ❤️

Ok let’s say I read many things about this place , so I did booked the table and me and my partner decided to finish our amazing trip to Riga with this little cosy place. I would not say it’s bad or it’s a best food experience I ever had it was… ok. Presentation of the each dish is the win win situation to the restaurant however… salmon tartare taste like … chopped salmon and avocado.. ok .. pikeperch fillet taste like … fish .. lamb shoulder taste like lamb etc etc. there where no this full of flavour dishes. It looked amazing but within this amazing looks the wow effect ends… there where no Wow taste effect. Which was a bit of a shame. Place nice, cosy, can’t blame a thing really and it was the busiest restaurant we saw for this entire Easter weekend. But unfortunately I have to rate as 4 stars but purely because of the presentation. Otherwise it would be 3 stars for actual food taste.

The food had lovely presentation but was lacking flavour. We started with trout tratare with avocado which was lovely. Then we got the signature pork ribs and the fish. The pork was good but the fish was lacking a bit of flavour. The staff was really nice .
Cozy spot in the heart of Old Town!
The food was absolutely delicious - the baked Camembert with balsamic-roasted grapes and green pistachios was a standout, and the pan-fried pikeperch fillet with green pea purée and mango-pistachio tartare was truly exquisite. Kudos to the chef!
Though, the atmosphere was a bit of a letdown. The space is quite small, and somehow the noise bounces off the walls and becomes overwhelming - it really affected the overall experience, we had to scream to hear each other. I would expect such a noise at a bar/pub, but not at a good restaurant. But probably it happened due to this evening the restaurant was packed with some really loud groups. A reservation is definitely recommended, as the space is limited.
One interesting observation: we were the only locals there, which likely explains the pricing. It’s more tourist-oriented in that sense, not really a local’s everyday spot.
All in all, a charming and cozy place with fantastic food.
We have just finished a superb meal at Domini Canes. The service was attentive, the food beautifully presented and menu choices really interesting - we loved it! We also thought it was excellent value for money.
Went here with my wife after strolling the old Town on our first day in Riga.....We sat outside and had a fantastic meal.....Everything here was as promised....With a twist up......Nice atmosphere and had we sat inside we'd had the same experience.....

Such a charming retro café in the old town, right next to a church in a very picturesque spot. The interior is full of vintage touches and funny quotes on the walls that give it a lot of character, with 60s–70s music playing to match the vibe. We visited on a rainy day and it was the perfect cozy place to enjoy our coffee. A great choice if you’re looking for something warm and atmospheric in Riga.
Location and vibes are very suggestive, prices are on the high side 5€ for a hot chocolate and 4.50€ for a hot tea.
Haven’t tried any food but they have a selection of cakes at the entrance (not sure about gluten free or vegan options).
It is a nice cafe to pass by for an afternoon tea or when it is cold outside.
Romantic & Calm Vibe at an Affordable Price!
We absolutely loved the cozy, romantic atmosphere. We tried the Royal Auglu Tea, Carrot Cake, and Irish Coffee , all were superb! The carrot cake stood out with a balanced flavor, not too sweet, just right .
The staff provided great service, making the experience even better. Definitely worth a visit!
The prices are for sure on the higher end (27eur for 2 cakes, 2 coffees and 1 non-alcoholic cocktail as of October 2025, in other places in Riga you would pay 15ish EUR for that amount at the moment). However, the prices are fully justified here you pay also for the quality, atmosphere and good service.
Both lime and chocolate cakes were very fresh and nicely balanced in terms of sweetness, chocolate one was our favorite - the combination of ingredients in that was very intriguing and something I've never seen anywhere else (positively). Coffee was aromatic.
Amazing service upon our visit on 07.10.25 during the evening - we arrived with flowers and the employee offered and provided a vase for the time of our visit. Kindly told us about each available cake. Waiting time for the order was not long at all.
Atmosphere is very warm and cosy with attention to each details. This is a place you will want to return again.

But the real standout was the honey cake, which was nothing short of unreal. Soft, layered, and full of delicate sweetness, it’s easily one of the best desserts we’ve had in Riga. It pairs perfectly with the coffee and completes the experience beautifully.
The staff were friendly and the service relaxed, which suits the tone of the place perfectly. Whether you’re after a quiet spot to unwind, a romantic coffee date, or simply somewhere to enjoy an excellent drink and dessert, Parunāsim Kafe'teeka is the perfect choice. It’s the kind of café you’ll remember long after leaving Riga.

Parunāsim kafe'teeka, located in Riga’s lovely Old Town, describes itself as the most romantic coffee shop in town and I think I can see why.
I visited on September 2nd, 2025, during my second day in the city as part of our Baltics tour. The design, seating, and overall atmosphere are so charming that the place almost invites you in on its own.
They offer a wide selection of cakes and beverages, and with its calm, quiet environment, it’s the perfect spot to take a break and recharge in the middle of a long day exploring the Old Town. Highly recommended to everyone visiting the old town!!

The bakery specializes in sourdough bread, offering variations with ham or vegetarian options, as well as savory or sweet porridge and buns.
Loved this place that I visited a few times during my trip. Pistachio croissant is a top fav (more on the sweet side, similar to an almond croissant) followed by the cardamon bun. Didn’t try the savoury side but I’m sure it’s lovely too. Highly recommend.

This place has an amazing atmosphere, with a beautiful interior and a warm, cozy vibe. I especially appreciated the indie pop/rock music playing in the background, it created a relaxed and enjoyable mood as I had my late breakfast and flat white.
One of the highlights was the open workspace, where you can watch the staff baking fresh pastries and bread. It added a nice, authentic touch to the experience.
The coffee was of good quality, though the cup was a bit on the small side. The food was delicious, I particularly loved the salted pastry with tomato and mozzarella, which was both flavorful and satisfying.
The staff were friendly and helpful, and our coffees arrived very quickly, which we appreciated.
We paid 24 euros for three pastries and two flat whites. It’s a bit on the pricey side, but considering the quality, atmosphere, and service, it felt well worth it. A very enjoyable experience overall.
Most of pastries in this bakery are sweet, so if you want a savoury one, I would not recommend.
At my first visit I got poppy seed croissant roll. It was pretty good but kinda boring. There were not much poppy seeds in the pastry. 7/10.
The second time I was there I got pistachio croissant. It was very sweet. The filling was upsetting - it was not creamy, more like homemade icing (I could feel sugar crystals). So, if you are not into really sweet things, I wouldn’t recommend. 6/10.
Service and atmosphere is excellent. Pretty busy both times I was here, but that’s not a problem for me.
Very nice, clean, and modern bakery with high-quality baked goods and drinks. The price is perhaps on the slightly high-end, but it is worth it for the quality that you get.

I’ve had the best pan au chocolat here, it was perfect with a cappucino. They also have a yummy tiramisu and their offer of products overall is impressive.

Coeliac safe, gluten free bakery serving up truly delicious baked savoury and sweet goods.
FOOD: Great variety of flans, tarts, rolls, slices and bread rolls. They also sell uncooked gluten free pasta you can take away. They have water for free. Popular items like their cinnamon scroll sell out earlier in the day. The ingredients are of high quality and the items have plenty of filling.
SEATING: In and outdoor seating available, more suited to groups of 2-4 than 8+. There is a step up, so it's not super wheelchair/walker friendly inside.
STAFF: Really lovely, joyous and attentive staff who are passionate about what they do.
OVERALL: Highly recommend and will be back! Plus your yellow purpose-built seating outside is just a gorgeous piece of artwork too! Thanks!

I visited your bakery yesterday (March 17, 2025) and purchased several pastries, including three pieces of canelé. However, when I got home, I realized that they were missing from my order, even though they are clearly listed on my receipt😩

Had a very disappointing experience here. Came to buy a birthday cake for my friend who is gluten free, when we got there the woman was clearly angry that we were there. She told us we couldn’t sit down on the seats outside as she was closing in 40 minutes, we asked if we could sit outside until then and she said no. She tried putting the cake in a bag and we asked if we could have it in a box as we’d brought candles and she kept telling us they don’t have many boxes. Eventually she gave us a box after explaining again it was for a friends birthday. After all that, the pastries were dry and without much flavour.
I had an absolute blast at this place during my stay in Riga. The GF buns and pastries were divine, I couldn’t resist coming back not once, but three times!
If you’re Celiac, don’t bother searching for a gluten-free bakery. Just ask your GPS to take you to this place, and you’ll be in for a treat!

Only negative is that they don’t have nothing to heat your food so if you eat in house you might eat your slice of pizza cold (it was still very good).

The atmosphere of the place is truly pleasant and nicely designed, with a wide selection of cakes that look very tempting at first glance. However, the impression was somewhat diminished by the service – the staff was not particularly friendly, and the cappuccino was served too hot, which didn’t leave the best impression. Among the pastries, I would highlight the cheese rolls, which were very tasty and worth recommending, while the bacon rolls fell short of expectations. Overall, the café has potential and a good selection, but the quality of service could certainly be improved

Convenient location, pastries are passable only, they look better than they taste. Unfortunately, the service is terrible. The staff behind the counter is frankly rude. They ignore you and are completely uninterested in answering questions about the pastries. Coffee is overpriced, they charge almost €5 for a small cup of coffee with milk. I do not recommend.

Anyone who has ever tried real cacao ceremony in Bali will know how far this is from what is should be. The consistency is far (miles far away) from what is should be - very watery. Tastes like cacao powder with warm water. :( and all drinks are made only with oat milk. Sadly, no other options to choose from.

Definitely best cacao I have ever tried. It has specific taste/spice. Atmosphere was unique , and most of all best service by Kristina. She tells you history of cacao where it comes and how they made it. Also they have events each Thursday evening which you can come and enjoy musics (they post in Instagram). Original Cacao cost 4 eur at the moment and you can pay by card.But they have different kind of cacaos with fruits, etc … Will definitely go and try each of them.

If you like great food at a reasonable price, the central market is waiting for you. SO MUCH FOOD! Everything was fresh and was as alluring to the nose as it was to the palate. So much variety, you will hardly know where to start. It's even fun if you're not hungry... just walk around and take it all in. Definitely recommend!

They sell all the traditional dishes for extremely reasonable prices so a great way to eat like the locals. It’s a vibrant, buzzing area that’s definitely worth a visit.
This place is just HUGEEEE! Lots of different departments, one for fruit, veg, others for meat, fish. cheese, deserts. All different ranges and prices depending on who you buy from. Some prices get cheaper along the way. There is a food department where you can eat lots of food again, depends where you want to eat and what you want to eat. But it is so big you’ll definitely leave with something. Clothes also. We walked here as we seen it was difficult to get parking 🅿️

If you love noisy organized chaos and endless choices of food, snacks, desserts and drinks then Lido is your place but not for those of us suffering badly from gluten sensitivities. Of course there are gluten-free options but the information you have to check it carefully yourself and the contamination risk is very high if you're extremely sensitive to gluten. I settled for a glass of gluten free strawberry mousse in vanilla sauce which was absolutely delicious and filling, worth a revisit as well. The place is large, huge, a really vast area with different kitchens and menues. The building is divided into many different sections and the patios in a variety of many brightly decorated exteriors, similar to an amusement park. Lido is also easily accessible by public transportations from Riga city center. Very easy to get there by any bus or trams.
Well worth visiting for the food alone. I was there "between the seasons" so not all the bells and whistles going on in the yard theam park. The food is good and so plentiful. The self service almost make it hard to choose among so many dishes. Suitable for all ages.

A lovely place for breakfast with friendly service. The Francis omelet and avocado toast with mozzarella were delicious, beautifully presented, and made with quality ingredients.
The American pancakes, although visually appealing, were very tough—so firm it was hard to cut them with a knife.

This place serves the best coffee I have had in Riga (so far, at least). The menu is accessed via QR code, which seems to be quite common here, but I expect there are other ways to order if you don't have a smartphone. The food was good (although there were no potatoes, and I love potatoes), and the atmosphere was great. The staff were very friendly and spoke excellent English.
Innocent Café was a decent stop for breakfast in Riga. The food leans more towards an American-style breakfast, and while nothing too unique, both the dishes and the coffee were tasty.
Although coffee is a bit expensive, 1€ extra for alternative milk this place is a gem. Waitresses are really friendly and food is awesome. I had a tunna sandwich for breakfast and then the daily menu which is only 7.99€ . Highly recommendable.

I still have the first memory of coming to this cafe last year January, on a very cold winter. Everything seemed so lifeless and gray in Latvia until I found this place. The smell of croissants and coffee and very nice music that goes along with the atmosphere completely changed the mood of my day.
Not just pastries and salad are good, but also the cakes are demuring. I personally recommend the traditional cake Napoleon. I have tried in many different cafes in Latvia to compare the taste. However, none of them has won over Kūkotava yet.
The locals have known this place since long, while nowadays many tourists come as well to enjoy brunch or dessert after a meal.

I’ve always loved the sweets from this place — everything I’ve tried before has been delicious. That’s why I was so excited to visit the new branch on Antonias 11. Unfortunately, this time I was really disappointed.
The pastry I tasted was rubbery, as if it had been baked days ago, and the lemon cream had no lemon flavor or aroma at all.
Sadly, it felt like money wasted(
During our trip, we kept coming back to this place — both to their dessert shop and their gourmet deli. The desserts are absolutely wonderful, and the deli is perfect if you’re looking for a quick but delicious lunch or light dinner. They have amazing salads with avocado, shrimp, tuna, or duck, plus tasty quiches and many other options. The coffee is excellent as well.
It’s a lovely spot to sit both indoors and outdoors when the weather is nice. We stayed nearby for three days and ended up visiting every single day — and even grabbed some snacks to take home with us.
Prices are very reasonable, and whether you’re in the mood for something sweet, savory, or just a little bite to go, this place is definitely worth a visit.
Exceptional Croissant in the City Centre — France, Step Aside
In the first paragraph, the heart is secure, free to love, and the rest is limitless peace. That’s exactly how I felt biting into this croissant — in the middle of the city, yet completely transported.
Forget Paris or Rome. This almond croissant was filled with rich, authentic almond paste — the kind you’d find in an elegant wedding cake, not the diluted stuff served across most of Europe. Baked to perfection: crisp shell, tender center, no excess butter or raw chewiness.
The coffee? Strong, rich, and full of personality. A proper roast that lingers.
Only downside? The service. When I asked for soy milk, I got a blunt “no” with no follow-up. No smile. No suggestion. For a city full of tourists, that moment lacked grace.
Still — for the pastry alone, it’s a must. Pure craftsmanship in the city centre. France, tapisols.

There are a number of coffee places in Riga (most of them outside the old town) that claim to serve specialty coffee. Some of them are quite decent.
Strada however is exceptional. Judging by the coffees (did not eat anything) I have had there, they have superior water quality, a great grinder and very good beans. If you have high standards when it comes to the taste of coffee, go there: You will love it!
Strada gave a decent impression with food that was steady and reliable rather than remarkable. The service was fine, and the restaurant handled guests smoothly. It did not stand out compared to other meals in the city, though it was acceptable for a casual dinner.
The only non-chain specialty coffee shop that truly deserves all the respect! The interior is cozy and full of character, with a rare and wide variety of teas and coffees, and the terrace during warm months adds a lovely touch. It’s also amazing that they roast their own beans and do it exceptionally well.
It might not be “the” spot for someone looking for a full meal with their coffee, but they do offer some cakes and sandwiches that pair nicely. On top of the wonderful tea selection, you can even buy a teapot or a cup for drinking mate.
Speaking of their specialty offerings, their V60 is magnificent, I often order it along with chocolate cake. Sometimes I go for a cappuccino, which is always velvety, or an iced latte with a perfect balance of flavours.
Another standout aspect is the service. Baristas are always caring and thoughtful, taking drink quality seriously and investing time and effort into preparation. You can ask them about ingredients, recommendations, or even the origins of a particular drink. Special kudos to Daniels for never hesitating to share his knowledge and kind energy.
Finally, it’s a wonderful space to work in. There is no discrimination against people using laptops. Perhaps, don’t just work: make sure to try the many amazing options from their drink selection.

Stumbled upon this cafe early morning, had been in once and had a latte to take out which had been lovely, smooth and not too strong. Had a second visit the following day and decided to stay in, had a large latte again, once again smooth and nice. Had some music playing in the background not too loud or quiet. Since theres a construction infront of the caffeine the place is like sanctuary. When i arrived there, there was only two people: bartender and one customer. I ordered salted caramel macchiato and sat down. The coffee was amazingly made by the bartender like 10/10 never had better caramel macchiato. I stayed there for 1 hour and by the time only 3 locals came by so it was really nice that it was quiet all the time

From savory they offer stuffed croissants and quiches and on sweet side there are few cakes, pastries and cookies. Would have expected more choices. Coffee was good but they oversugared it. Muffin was dry but croissant tasty. It is super busy in there but atmosphere quite cozy. Servers should know English better as one if them did not understand what was ordered, it is central location and people working there should know basics. Overall good for coffee and quick bite.

I loveeeee this place! Found this small cafe accidentally during our walk through the old city Riga. The atmosphere is nice and elegant. Too bad they have small space, because it’s basically always full during our stay. I hope they will extent the place.
Cruffin is crispy on the outside and soft fluffy on the inside. We took the pistachio, and I love that the filling is not too sweet. I personally usually don’t like this kind of filling because it’s always too sweet and thick. But that’s not the case for this one. That’s why I really love it.
They even have matcha and prosecco at the same time. Perfect! And the lady is nice.

By far this is the greatest café I have ever had the joy of being in. Everything is truly great and at a reasonable price. Usually breakfast is available from 8-11am and its divine (try the porridge you won't be disappointed) and lunch each day from 12pm. Breakfast menu doesn't change but each day there are different deserts and a lunch menu. The staff is incredibly friendly. The atmosphere is cute and not pretentious in any way. Though above all I must commend their standards, I've been going there daily for months now and not once have I been disappointed by anything. In my humble opinion this is a must visit in Riga. :))

The tea was decent, with a large selection and a pleasant atmosphere. The young woman who served us either seemed tired or simply not passionate about her work, as she neither offered to guide us through the tea selection nor checked whether we were capable of conducting the tea ceremony on our own without a basic introduction. We also felt a bit lost when choosing the tea, but ultimately had to make the decision entirely on our own.
I hadn’t attended a tea ceremony in a long time and wouldn’t have minded a little refresher on the process.

Edited: To reply to the owner, for more concrete details, the girl working the cash register with curly hair had an attitude that doesn't seem to match the place's atmosphere. It doesn't convey the feeling of welcomeness or warmth that was a defining trait of the place a year ago. I can understand these factors, however, not when the place is stated to be a one-in-a-kind experience.

A good spot for brunch - they have plenty of dishes and they serve them until 3pm.
I've been here 3+ times now and the food is always delicious and plenty. I was actually surprised it was so good, definitely beat my expectations.
All brunch dishes are between €10-14 and come with free coffee, but... it does taste like free coffee. Not great, but drinkable. Nice touch anyway.
The service is the biggest downside unfortunately, usually not very polite, all mostly russian speaking.
But I'll still be returning for brunch!
Had a lovely breakfast here! I tried the cottage cheese pancakes – they were absolutely delicious: soft, fluffy, and perfectly balanced. 🤩👌🏼The portion was generous, served with sour cream and jam. The croissant with salmon, egg, caviar, and cucumber was from the display case not a main menu, but still very tasty. Along with a cappuccino made with plant-based milk, the total was around €20.
Highly recommend this place for breakfast! Their deli food for takeaway is also great! Especially the potato gratin, which is wonderfully creamy, with thinly sliced potatoes and a layer of carrots on top.👌🏼
The only thing that felt a bit confusing was the menu, it was given in Russian, and when I looked for the Latvian version, I first found the English one, while the Latvian option was hidden at the very bottom 🙄

We were pointed to a table where we can sit when asked if they had place for two people. The place was quite packed with few empty tables.
Ordering is done by the counter and you pay once you place an order.
Drinks were brought quite quickly although the waiter did forget to bring milk for my black tea.
Food is tasty, also didn't need to wait long for it.
I got "Zemnieku brokastis/Countryside breakfast" which reminds English breakfast and this was really tasty. Waitress did say that they are out of mushrooms, but agreed to put extra potatoe pancake on the dish.
My partner got Tuna tart, it was ok, nothing special although presentation looked nice.
And for dessert we got the cottage cheese scones/pancakes and they were amazing. Loved them, soft, moist enough, tasted only after cottage cheese, didn't feel any flour presence.
The place it self is interesting, most of it is with tables but one part resembles a convenience store where you can buy a lot of different drinks and takeaway food (or it's food on display that is served as a part of what you ordered, didn't quite get this).
Facilities are spacious with lots of light. A lot of stone is used in interior. Also for table surfaces, I froze my hand a bit while sitting by the table on the surface 🤷, weird experience...
The place is some 10 minutes walk away from any public transport and is most easily accessible with car.
Cosy and delicious place, where you can eat one of the best “Egg Benedict” in town. And afterwards you can do a grocery shopping right in the Mils cafè. Always up for all the trends (Dubai chocolate, Raspberry chocolate and so). Highly recommended!

Tējo Tea House is a charming Japanese-style two-story tea house with an octagonal terrace featuring glass walls that offer stunning views of the Opera house, city canal, and surrounding park. A cozy place, great for relaxing time. The friendly staff are very welcoming, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. Cosy teahouse situated on a bank of Riga's picturesque city channel. Coffee and tea were good. The caramel latte was smooth, the yerba mate strong.
It's a shame our overall experience was a let down due to the poor quality of the lunch items. We ordered scrambled eggs on avocado toast and Korean Bibimbap. Both dishes had good presentation, but the taste was off. No seasoning whatsoever on the scrambled eggs, my girlfriend struggled to finish it. As for the Bibimbap; wrong ingredients (horseradish instead of bean sprouts, lettuce instead of seaweed) combined with a weird sauce (where was the gochujang?) and again, a complete lack of seasoning, made for a warm rice salad rather than a proper Bibimbap.
This place is good at what it's supposed to do; hot drinks over picturesque views. If you're looking to eat however, look elsewhere.

A really delightful spot by the river - lovely for breakfast or afternoon tea. Great service, superb matcha latte, and the almond cookies are sweet and tasty. One of our favourite spots in Riga!

1. The sofas are not good at all. Not convenient to sit. And this is important.
2. To drink tea propaly there is not enough one more gun dao bei thing it's like a bowl were you put tea from tea-pot and from there to the other caps. At least this option is have to be present. It was earlier here at this place. All the meaning of drinking tea with pouring method is lose if the tea keep staing in teapot.
3. And I would like if you could make an loyalty program like a mambering of the tea club. With regular paymt like an donation members to stay in this club.

Lovely cafe, 100% recommend. We came here straight from the airport, its about a 5 min walk from the last stop on the #22 bus (a great way to get to the city, approx 25mins and €1.50). Staff were fab, food was brilliant. Sourdough is freshly baked on site each day. Definitely recommend the open sandwiches
What a little gem for the fans of breakfast. We had farmer’s breakfast with extra eggs and extra bacon and it was excellent! ( and huge but we couldn’t stop eating). They only serve breakfast but donut all day ( till 16:00). Only a few tables inside. Sourdough open sandwiches with variety of toppings also looked very good ( the table next to us ordered), so we would love to come back for another perfect breakfast for those who like large hearty breakfast

Homy and small little breakfast place specializing in breakfast dishes with homemade bread. Interior is cute and cozy, however location is not the best since it’s on a very busy, polluted, and loud street. Reservations are recommended on the weekends since it has very limited interior seating. Food was delicious, portion was big, however nothing extraordinary. Service was great 👍

Great place! Amazing service, 10/10! The butter was wonderful and so was the toast with goat cheese. Great menu, easy to understand, very nice selection of options and many modifications can be made. The only thing we didn’t like was how close the tables were to each other, but otherwise the interior was very nice and homey. Assumption is the mother of all mistakes. I got here, got some coffee and pointed to two different buns. One plain and one with blueberries. Or do I thought, basing it on what I saw.
Got the coffee, sat down and… the plain bun was stuffed with bacon. Went to the blueberry one, but that was filled with what I think was some kind of olive mix.
Can’t blame the proprietors for my mistake. But it was a mistake for sure. At least the coffee was fine 🙃
Wanted breakfast and most places don't open to till early but stumbled into this shop which opens at 730am lucky for me. I didn't know what to order and went for galas, and after I took a bite I realized it was filled with meat 🙃. It was chicken after I enquired, they also have cheese and spinach. The chicken one and the cheese one tasted lovely and they were still warm as they were freshly baked. Apparently the oldest bakery in Latvia. The coffee in the other hand was just OK. Lots of seating.

One of my favorite bakeries I've visited! So many different sweet and savory pastries. My favorite one was the Cinamon pastry. The seating was also very comfortable and nice and also very affordable prices for such a good quality.
A nice cozy place to sit and get breakfast, brunch or snack at. Since it is not a café but a bakery, the coffee isn't great, but the pastries and cakes (also some specifically Latvian ones) are absolutely delicious, so I do recommend. :)
Today 19/06/25 the women worked in this Martina Bekereja try to earn more money 🤑 than the actual price of the products we bought.
She charged us more items than the one's we bought. We came back and she didn't even say sorry... Very bad behaviour.....

The service is absolutely useless: the waitress took a very long time to bring the menu and didn’t take the order for a long time. Waiting for the food was also veeery long.
The portions have become smaller and the prices higher. The appearance of the food doesn’t look very presentable.
I was shocked to see a dirty sink and a dirty floor in a place like this.
They present themselves as a fancy bakery/cafe, but in reality they’re lacking aesthetics, good quality and politeness.
We used to visit Mulberry on Ausekļa street quite often, but unfortunately, the atmosphere there has noticeably deteriorated lately.
One particularly unpleasant experience involved a person who appeared to be either the administrator or the manager - it doesn’t really matter who exactly. Swearing at staff members in front of guests is completely unacceptable. Such behavior shows a clear lack of respect for both the employees and the customers.
I genuinely feel sorry for the staff who have to work in such conditions. The service has definitely declined, but given the management style, it’s not surprising. The food is tasty, but nothing exceptional. Prices are reasonable for the quiet center.
The final straw was a situation where, due to a large number of guests, one of the female guests accidentally bumped into a table, and a vase broke. The manager’s reaction - shouting across the entire restaurant - came off as completely unprofessional and humiliating.
We visited Mulberry on Sunday and enjoyed coffee and dessert. However, I was surprised that when I asked for a glass of water, I was told this is not provided. In many places, serving water with coffee and sweets is seen as a small but important gesture of care and hospitality. Even a simple glass of tap water, especially when a guest asks for it, makes the experience feel more welcoming. It would be wonderful if Mulberry could consider this, as it really adds to the comfort of your guests and leaves a warmer impression.
Nice cafe. Wifi available. Extremely overpriced… probably could find someplace better in Riga than this. Service was okay. Coffee was not good but the cake was a hit better. They are beautifully made, but just too expensive (6€+ for a small cake??).
The sourdough bread, croissants, and pastries are good. Unfortunately, the service is terrible. You can stand at the counter for five minutes hoping someone will notice you, while several staff members are busy doing something else. And it's happening almost every time. Great bakery, but the service really ruins the experience.
Quality of service has dramatically dropped to the level when you have to choose another venue and just skip Mulberry at any cost. Owners - you got to make people you have newly employed actually notice customers and move around, not just stand. This is a disaster... Food is great though. But there are plenty other options around.

The place gets quite popular during lunchtime, often drawing a crowd—sometimes it’s even hard to find a seat. There’s always at least one dish with meat or fish available every day. StockPot is such a great find in Riga! Their Asian fish soup was bursting with flavor and so comforting, and the West African chicken curry was absolutely delicious—rich, hearty, and perfectly spiced. You can really taste the love and creativity that goes into their dishes. A cozy spot with bold, international flavors—I’d definitely recommend it!
If we lived in Riga, we would eat here every day! We had the Thai curry (excellent with the just the right amount of heat) and the hummus and tabbouleh meals (maybe the tabbouleh could have used a bit more lemon). It was a light lunch for us and just perfect before we hit the road. Easy to walk to from Old Town.
I’ve been a regular customer since moving to Riga a few years ago and this is still my favourite lunch spot in the city. Great, quick food and one of the few options in the city centre if you want spicy food. Chilli Wednesday is still one of the highlights of my week.

There is normally one or two vegetarian options, but tend to be very spicy .
For sone reason the only side is rice and they offer only white wheat bread. Would be nice if there were buckwheat or quinoa and rye bread options.

I love this coffee & breakfast shop. It has a unique and distinct atmosphere. It is located right beside Riga central train station, so there are always lots of people going somewhere, while you can sit, pause, and enjoy great coffee. Service is good. Personnel is very friendly, and they speak many languages.

Stopped by after lunch for some sweet desert and a latte. I tired the Citrona Kücina and expect it to have a hint of sour of lemon but instead the yellow jelly layer was very rubbery and stretchy. Overall, it’s ok but did not expect to eat rubber band. The latte is ok but very light on the coffee side.
Place is nice, but paid for big cup size and got only medium…

Cool little kiosk with a nice story of how it got the name.
Located on the entry of the park, it makes the perfect sense that you get your coffee here.
The prices are the same as the other cafeterias around the park.
The coffee was not that great and, for some reason, not that hot as I was able to drink it right away.

I keep getting served by some guy and his attitude is just plain rude. Constantly forces sugar in my drink, another time I got served by him as well and he just took the drink out of my hand??

my response to the owner: yes, it sounds stupid but it really did happen. There would genuinely be times whether he forces sugar on me but not that he would fully pour it in, mixes my drink or just would take the drink almost out of my hand just to put the lid on (like i said previously, i get that he's trying to be helpful but i did not ask for any of this). If you don't believe your customers at all, then that's just sad. Please just check the cameras for last few saturdays at around noon for example. What's the point of supporting this business if these are the kind of responses you get? :(

Great double espresso! Strong as it should be and not watered down. Very friendly staff and it was also his first day as a barista. Good job! Prices are very affordable. Paid €2,20 for a double espresso. Definitely recommend this place!
I liked there matcha latte here and returned twice (although the male barista should be giving more powder, otherwise it's too weak). It is helped by a great location next to a pretty park.

A22 Hotel is a true gem! Located in a gorgeous Art Nouveau neighborhood. It’s the ideal mix of peaceful retreat and city convenience.
We stayed in the Suite, and it was pure luxury. The Art Deco design, Bose speakers, deep tub, and thoughtful touches like welcome sweets made it feel so special. Breakfast was fresh and delicious.
The 24-hour sauna was a highlight—perfect for unwinding anytime. They also have a well-equipped gym for a quick workout.
Overall, A22 is stylish, comfortable, and memorable. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Riga!

The first three nights were very nice—peaceful and comfortable. Unfortunately, everything changed on the last night when a group of party guests was placed in the room next to us. From then on, sleeping was impossible due to loud bass-heavy music and dancing continuing well past midnight. This completely ruined our stay, especially with a late flight home the next day.
The room itself was modern and comfortable, featuring a high-quality LG OLED TV and a Bose sound system. While this setup is great for enjoying media, it also means that if anyone plays loud music, the bass easily travels through the walls. A great sound system is a nice touch, but there should definitely be rules or limits for its use—especially at night.
There were two private saunas available to book 24/7, which was a really nice feature. However, it was disappointing that the water bucket for pouring over the stones was missing, which is a basic expectation for a sauna experience.
Breakfast was very nice, and the restaurant itself was perfectly fine.
This could have been an excellent stay if not for the loud party next door and the poor attitude of the lady receptionist, who handled the situation badly and left me to deal with the disruptive guests on the lobby when they were asked to turn the music down. They were giving rude comments on me due to stopping their party.
We had a comfortable two nights stay here in December. The hotel room was ready at 10:30am when we arrived which was convenient, it was a clean and beautifully furnished room. The hotel sauna was a nice extra touch considering the freezing weather outside. There was a slight mistake/confusion as to whether the breakfast was included or not (the receptionist at check in telling us breakfast was included in our booking, then a different receptionist when checking out telling us it wasn’t)- but that was delt with gracefully and swiftly in the end.
The suite I booked was spacious, quiet, and comfortable. Although located in a residential area, the hotel is close to "central" Riga; you can easily walk to cafes, bars, restaurants, and many cultural attractions. All in all, I enjoyed my stay at A22 and would love to stay there again the next time I visit Riga.

The hotel is exceptionally well-equipped for anyone travelling with kids. In addition to the standard baby crib provided probably in most hotels they also had a baby bathtub, a potty, some shampoos/lotions for kids, a changing sheet and wet wipes, which I haven't come across in other hotels we've stayed at (mind you, we don't choose family friendly hotels, so things might be a bit different in hotels specifically aimed at families with kids). Additionally, a nice lady at the reception gifted our child a plush toy, which she was over the moon about. Very well done!
Literally right across the road is a park with a fantastic new playground, which is another aspect making this a great choice for families. If truth be told, this was the main reason for our family choosing this hotel instead of a certain other hotel starting with H with great views of the old town rooftops ;) Plus, parking at A22 is way easier.
The only downside for me personally were the motion sensor activated lights in the bathroom, which kept going off several times during the shower/bathing procedures so you had to open the door in pitch black and step outside to activate the lights once again. Especially with a baby I can see this being not ideal, luckily my child is a bit bigger and I didn't have to juggle a small baby and a slippery floor it pitch black. I can't recall any other hotel having a similar solution, and perhaps for a good reason :)
Amazing hotel, decor and design are not just for looks, the quality and engineering behind the rooms is to the highest standard. Staff are so professional and helpful. Breakfast is incredible. And old town is only a few minutes away. Overall a stunning boutique hotel with an Impressive history. Rooms are massive and much better than the pictures. Very happy with our choice for a quick stop in Riga

Owner of this cafe, or man who works there, went into the entrance of this cafe at 21:00 on 22 August after aggressively hitting my wife who was walking with our 2 year old child this evening for absolutely no reason. Totally unacceptable. He scurried away into the entrance of this Tejnica (he had a key) and didn’t stop walking when I shouted at him. Walked with a hoodie on and couldn’t see his face but 100% went into this shop after it was closed.

A very old place from what I gather. The Russian speaking lady on the counter was very nice and even offered water refill for us. I paid 2 eur for my tea, and they offer very affordable tea snacks on the side. I love the favt that the place is unpretentious and you can get tea experience without too much accessory to distract you from the tea.

Forrest Cafe is a cozy and welcoming place with a nice menu and good pricing. The staff is polite and provides excellent service, making visitors feel very welcomed.
