I recently had the pleasure of dining at Mocambo Restaurant, and the dishes were memorable, and the overall experience was outstanding. For my first course, I enjoyed the Lobster, which was cooked perfectly. Then I went for the Ham stek sizzler with mushroom sauce. It rare cooked and the meat was soft and delicate. To finish the meal, I had Baked Alaska featuring a generous mix of fresh fruits, crunchy walnuts, and delicious strawberry ice cream, all covered with a light, airy layer of whipped cream. It was a wonderful combination of textures and sweetness that ended the lunch on a high note.

The place has a lovely old-world charm — dim lighting, cozy seating, and a warm, inviting atmosphere that instantly puts you in a relaxed mood. It’s perfect for both casual hangouts and slightly formal dinners. The service was quite good — the staff were courteous, attentive, and ensured that our table was well taken care of throughout. Food service time was reasonable, and everything was presented neatly. Coming to the food, it was a mixed experience. While the dishes looked appetizing, the overall taste was fairly average compared to expectations. The meat lasagne, in particular, was disappointing — it turned out to be far too salty, which overpowered the rest of the flavors. Other dishes, however, were decent and comforting, especially the mains and sides that were well-cooked and nicely portioned. Despite the hit-or-miss food quality, the restaurant’s ambience and heritage definitely make it worth visiting at least once. It’s one of those places that captures the essence of Park Street dining — nostalgic, warm, and lively. I’d recommend Mocambo for the experience and atmosphere, but there’s definitely room for improvement when it comes to the consistency of food taste.

The original place in Kolkata for fancy dishes. While the dishes still carries the charm, the lacked the signature taste. Also maybe now you have so many other places to explore for these dishes. But this still is an awesome trip down the memory lane. The service is great. Cocktails are good. You can give it a try for celebratory dinners.

Recently dined at Mocambo and it was all too good. The ambience has the retro vibe with good service. We tried Chicken Ala Kiev, Chicken Stroganoff with Buttered Rice and Chicken Steak with Mushroom Sauce. The food was delicious and the experience was good.

There’s always something special about a hometown classic restaurant being awarded in the Top 50 restaurants of the country, and in all honesty, Mocambo lives up to it’s name. One of the oldest and most authentic restaurants in Park Street, Mocambo is a place you can never step into without waiting in line for at least half an hour. They serve the most authentic flavours of sizzlers and continental specialties with a section of the menu reserved for lovers of Indian dining. While they serve alcohol, which is beautifully curated (would love more varieties in cocktails, but given their tradition of menu since 1956, it’s understandable), the ambience is very family friendly and beautiful with the lamps and the interiors. It’s a large space, and they’re extremely accommodating and helpful with recommendations, dining preferences, and creating a welcoming space. Recommendations: Never skip the Baked Alaska, and if you’re into capturing memories, as the servers say, “Keep your videos on” :)

4 of my friends had a recent visit to Mocambo, the overall experience was great. We had ordered Chicken Á la kiev, Bhetki belle meuniere and original chicken garlic steak. Personally, loved bhetki belle meuniere, Á la kiev being their signature dish were great too. Shall visit again.

During the Puja days, we made our way to the legendary Peter Cat a place that never disappoints when it comes to food and old-world charm. ✨ Bhetki Meunière - ₹505/- This classic French preparation came with two pieces of fresh, flaky bhetki fish pan-fried to perfection. The buttery sauce elevated the natural sweetness of the fish, making every bite melt-in-the-mouth delicious. Served alongside a portion of potato and a fresh veggies, the dish struck a perfect balance of rich yet comforting flavors. Truly finger-licking good! ✨ Chicken Steak Sizzler - ₹510/- Served sizzling hot, the platter had two juicy chicken breast pieces grilled just right, keeping them tender and flavorful. The smokiness from the sizzler plate added depth to the taste, while the potato and fresh veggies on the side made it a wholesome and hearty meal. A satisfying dish that’s both filling and flavorful. Overall, Peter Cat once again lived up to its reputation with comforting food and nostalgic vibes making our Puja visit even more special.

Their speciality "The chelo kebab" platter it's obviously was the best at time but now I feel something is off with this dish .. the rice quantity or the proportion became less so the butter and the seekh kebabs one bit dry which also lacked flavours . However coming to the main part . The grilled fish sizzler and the biriyani and also the fish makhmali oh my god they are soo good and bursting with flavours . So next time don't run behind the chelos one do try their other foods as I have mentioned above and you will fall in love with those , the fish was well cooked and so tender and biriyani the more I say , the less it will become so do try it and then you will know . Food was amazing and their cocktails are a must try! Peter Cat is a brand. They deserve to be brand based on the quality of food and service they deliver. This time we took a table on the newly added floor which was very spacious and the ambience was wonderful.

Flurys is definitely a beautiful place with a nice vibe and good ambience. It has that old charm which makes it special, and it’s great for spending some time with friends or family. But honestly, when it comes to food, it feels quite average compared to the price they charge. The items look tempting but taste-wise they don’t really match the hype. It’s not bad, but definitely not worth the premium you pay. So, for me, it’s more of a place to enjoy the atmosphere rather than the food.

Flurys is truly a classic! This iconic bakery that started in Kolkata definitely lives up to its name. I visited during Durga Puja, and the ambience was warm, festive, and beautifully decorated. It had such an authentic charm. We ordered two breakfast meals, and everything was absolutely delicious. The flavors were rich yet subtle, not too spicy, and perfectly balanced. The Darjeeling tea they served was so refreshing, the ideal way to start the day. Although it’s slightly on the costlier side, the quality and taste make it completely worth it. Overall, a lovely experience with great food, great vibe, and a must-visit if you enjoy classic breakfast spots with a touch of nostalgia.

This restaurant maintain it's rich legacy through out the decades and they holds the best position in hospitality. Food is good and top notch.

Flurry's is an absolute delight! From the moment you step inside, you're greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The menu is fantastic, offering a wonderful variety of treats, from creamy shakes to delicious sundaes. Everything I've tried has been top-notch, made with high-quality ingredients and a lot of care. The staff is always friendly and attentive, making the experience even better. It's the perfect spot to satisfy your sweet tooth and a must-visit for anyone looking for a great dessert.

Flurys is a very well-known bakery shop and enjoys a long history! But over the years slowly lost its charm a bit. But offlate it has regained it's lost glory! They refurbished the shop, added many new attractive items backed up with very polite and effective stuffs . It's a treat to visit the shop for food lovers and even for discerning tourists !

My Review Food - 8/10 (could have been a little more spicer) Quantity - Enough for 1.5 or 2 average people Hygiene - 10/10 Price - High (but somehow worth it). 386 For mutton biryani and 276 for Chicken Arsalan Masala Atmosphere - 6/10 Just Decent, Neither bad but nor too much extraordinary. Arsalan Park Circus is one of the most popular spots in Kolkata for biryani and kebabs. The food is consistently delicious — their mutton biryani and kebabs are crowd favorites, with generous portions and rich flavors. We tried - 1. Chicken Reshmi kebab 2. Mutton Biriyani 3. Mutton Stew 4. Firni The prices here are on the higher side compared to nearby places like Royal India, Zam Zam, or Zeeshan, where you can get similar Mughlai dishes for much less. The restaurant is also almost always crowded, so be prepared for a wait during peak hours in the weekends. Ambience is simple and functional, and service is decent but not exceptional. Overall, you’re paying a premium for the Arsalan name and quality, but if you don’t mind the price, it’s a solid choice for Mughlai food.

My experience at this restaurant was profoundly disappointing from start to finish. The evening began on a poor note when our tableware was brought to us. My plate was not just slightly smudged; it was visibly dirty, which is completely unacceptable for any dining establishment. Frankly, the situation was very unhygienic. What truly soured the experience, however, was the staff's reaction. When we politely pointed out the issue and requested a clean plate, our simple request was met with indifference and was ultimately ignored by the waiter. This level of neglect from the service staff was shocking and demonstrates a complete lack of professionalism and concern for customer satisfaction. Unfortunately, the food did little to salvage the situation. The dishes were bland, lacked any depth of flavor, and were simply not up to the mark. It felt as if the carelessness we witnessed from the front-of-house staff extended right into the kitchen. Overall, the combination of appalling service and questionable hygiene created one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. I cannot in good conscience recommend this restaurant to anyone and will certainly not be returning.

The food was good, unfortunately they took almost 15 mins to serve the next bath of roti which marred the experience due to the mutton getting almost cold. Akbar and Md Sabbir were pathetic as the floor staff. They were kind of having a gala time inside rather than entertaining the needs of the guests. A simple lime soda wasn't available. If the service remains at this level I am sure people will look to other places to done out. As someone who runs a fine dine restuarant himself highly disappointed. 😢

We ordered Mutton Biryani Special, Bhuna Mutton and Mutton Sheekh Kebab for the two of us. We felt the taste & portion of meat along with other elements like ambience and service experience does not really justify the high cost. Biryani was fine the amount of meat was low. Bhuna Mutton & Seekh Kebab were not a bad deal, at least compared to the Biryani. This is not to say the taste was bad, it was fine but nothing extraordinary that warrants the high costs.

I have been visiting this outlet for the last 15 years. Its heartening to see that they have expanded this outlet in terms of seating capacity in the back and that expanded section is even more beautiful than its original seating area. Out of all the Arsalan restaurant outlet, this one serves the best biryani of all. If you prefer your biryani to be on the loaded side in terms of greasiness, you can always ask them to serve you from the bottom of the pot 😛 and they will happily oblige. Though, the cleanliness of the table and chairs could be an issue due to the leftovers left behind by the previous guests in your seating table (this often happen due to the huge rush they experience on a daily basis), thanks to the prompt and quick service rendered by the wait staffs, you can always ask them to clear your serving table and plates more thoroughly. They do serve the orders quicker if you order from the commonly ordered dishes like biryanis, chaaps, pasindas, rotis and naan's. Others may take about 5-15 mins extra to serve. Overall, the waiting time for the food you order is around 7 to 10 mins. Staffs are super friendly and inspite of being super busy and overwhelmed by the crowd visiting this restaurant as guests, they still are very kind towards newbies who are not sure what to order or attend the guests who are confused about where to start. They are also kind enough to advise you if you order too much to eat and suggest a way to work around your desired dishes. Also, I have to say one more thing about this place, there is No access for wheelchair. For specially abled people, its better to order takeaways as the overcrowded space and lack of wheelchair access may overwhelm them while disturbing other guests visiting this place At the end of the day, one may argue this restaurant not being a perfect one when it comes to the availability of tables, but when it comes to taste and the satiating factor that's worth your money, this restaurant is the perfect one for mughlai cuisines in Kolkata. As long as this restaurant maintains its wow factor in its biryanis and chaaps, I am not stopping myself from visiting this restaurant whenever I am in the city atleast once. Cheers! 🤩👍

Girish Chandra Dey & Nakur Chandra Nandy in Hedua is a legendary sweet shop in Kolkata, best known for its sandesh. Their jol bhora is iconic – a delicate sandesh with liquid gur or syrup inside that bursts in your mouth. It’s been their signature sweet for generations and still remains unmatched. Prices are slightly higher than regular sweet shops, but considering the legacy and the quality, it feels justified. This has to be the go to place for delving into classic Bengali sweets such as Sandesh. A gem of a place! The sweets are delicious and the shop is atmospheric. I love the fact that they have no branches because in my opinion mass production always cuts down on quality. Chain shops are good. But they are never excellent like this one is. Their jolbhora is legendary. But don't neglect all the other varieties of sandesh available. Each and every sweet there is a star in its own right. A little pricey I thought at first but absolutely worth it was my opinion after tasting.

It was founded by Mahesh Chandra Dey and was later taken over by his son Girish Chandra Dey. Later Girish’s only son-in-law Nakur Chandra Nandy took charge of the shop and since then the shop has been named as Girish Chandra Dey and Nakur Chandra Nandy. A pioneer in making sandesh, the shop continues to operate from the same place and is still quite popular. Whether you have a sweet tooth or not, you must visit this shop in north Kolkata. While the varieties of sandesh will take you by surprise, items like chocolate malai roll, rice ball and choco toofan are must-have. Do try jolbhora, Sourav sandesh, chocolate Sachin and mulberry sandesh, to name a few.

Tung Fong Restaurant ★★★★☆ Park Street, Kolkata I visited Tung Fong for a weekend dinner with friends, and overall it was a very pleasant experience. The ambience is sleek and modern, with enough space to comfortably accommodate large groups—perfect for get-togethers or family outings. The staff were uniformly well-mannered and attentive, checking in regularly without ever being intrusive. What I loved: • Smoked Lamb: Absolutely the standout of the night—tender, smoky and richly spiced. • Spicy Hoisin Fish & Chilli Garlic Fish: Both dishes packed a punch, with the hoisin version offering a sweet-heat balance and the chilli garlic one delivering bold, garlicky warmth. • Special Yang Chu Fried Rice & Chilli Garlic Prawn Fried Rice: Fragrant, wok-hei rice tossed with fresh ingredients; the prawn version had plump, juicy prawns and just the right level of heat. Room for improvement: • Prices skew on the higher end of Park Street norms. • Portion sizes are on the smaller side, so plan for an extra appetizer or two if you’ve got big appetites. Despite the premium pricing and modest quantities, the food quality is consistently high and the overall vibe makes Tung Fong a solid choice when you’re in the mood for well-executed modern Chinese in a group-friendly setting.

This place felt overhyped. They served standard Indian-Chinese, the kind you can easily find at any local food stall. They didn’t even offer us a beverage menu, and the service was disappointing — we had to constantly wave to get the staff's attention. Food took unusually long to arrive. The wanton soup was the only standout. Chilli Paneer was average, and the rice lacked taste. Felt like it was from a local stall. Overall, not worth the hype or the wait.

From food to ambience everything is top notch, wide range of dishes, spacious seating area in both ground n first floor, pleasant ambienece, food is great in both quality n quantity, need to wait a bit for food to be served. Overall worth visiting.

So this is the first time I’m going to give the most negative review in my life till now. This restaurant is one of the worst rated restaurant I have visited ever. First of all, they kept my three of the family members waiting just because they were three people only, until other three person would have reached, They kept them waiting for two hours. And the foods, they are providing not at all up to the mark, it’s very much overpriced, and the taste is just worthless. And most played the worst part is the service, they are very rude, They won’t respond to you until you call them for 10 th times , I failed the people who are working there, not at all working with their good mood, happy mind because they all seems very unhappy and not at all very kind to serve the customers. They take too much time to deliver the food and also the quality of the food is very bad. The mocktails, they are too bad. I will never ask any of my close people or just normal friends to visit here because it’s just overrated and overpriced for the situated place where it is. There are many other places where the foods quality will be amazing and also the price will be lesser than this place, but with a luxury ambience. And also, there are many place where the price will be same like this restaurant, but the taste and the ambience will make you feel more rich and luxury, and also the people who will serve you. You will feel very warmed with their behaviour. In this restaurant, I just felt they are just doing business and taking the money, but not at all sharing, love, and kind to the people who are going there. And in Google review, I feel there are many fake reviews they have asked for, so it’s providing 4.4 rating or else it only deserves 1 rating .

The restaurant ambience was nice. We went for a late lunch on a weekday and it was almost empty, so did not have any wait time. The servers were polite and response was quick. The food was good.

It was Sunday afternoon weather was cool and cloudy after a week of hot and sultry temperatures, perfect for Sunday afternoon! Went to Tung Fong for lunch! It was very crowded! Got to seat after 30 minutes waiting! Ordered mixed Thai soup and fish chili garlic pepper! Soup was really good, Fish was ok ! In main course we ordered Fish in Black Beans sauce and Egg veg fried rice ! Fish in black bean sauce was tasty but didn’t like the Fried rice , missing the distinct flavor and aroma of Chinese Fried rice ! tasted more like pulao ! Service was efficient considering the full house and people standing in queue for their turn! Nothing Great , average taste, affordable!

Chowmien could be better. 💡 Ambience: Nice and spacious. Perfect for going out there with family and friends. No music though. Washroom was clean. 👨 Service: Good. Staffs were kind, though not smiling. 🥘 Recommendations: Chilly fried fish and mushroom. Tooty frooty ice cream was good. 🌟 Note: Avoid weekends’ evening if you can, because it’s very crowded and you may have a waiting time of 30-40 mins.

We visited Kasturi for lunch, and overall it was an average experience — not too good, not too bad. We ordered the veg thali, kachupata chingri bhappa, and aar begun bori diye macher jhol. The veg thali was good, similar to what you get in other Bengali restaurants — nothing particularly special. However, the real highlight was the kachupata chingri. It tasted amazing and was definitely the star of the meal. I would strongly recommend that everyone visiting Kasturi should try this dish at least once. On the other hand, I personally didn’t like the aar macher jhol. The taste was below average and didn’t meet my expectations. One area for improvement is the staff behavior — they need to be more respectful and attentive to customers. Otherwise, it was a decent experience overall.

At first, I was a bit skeptical about their food;mainly because I’ve been disappointed by many highly rated restaurants before. This place is quite old, and you can tell that from the interior. But to my surprise, everything I ordered turned out to be amazing! The food tasted like authentic, homemade Bengali dishes, full of flavor…My absolute favorite was the “Kochupata Chingri”perfectly cooked prawns with mustard paste and colocasia leaves. Food was delicious at Kasturi and was recommended by local people. Restaurant setup is on 2 floors. We had 2 thalis (hilsa and betki) with shrimps in coconut and fried betki fish. Every item had a different taste and we finished everything which you can see in the photos. Thali included multiple items like rice, pulao aloo fries, daal, prawn with some sea weed, aam ki chatni, papad and hilsa curry. For people who are not habitual of eating fish with bones, please be careful as hilsa have multiple bones and can be difficult to eat.

Kasturi is a famous bengali hotel of Marquis street. Interior and ambience was super. Food taste was good enough. I am very disappointed with the service. I went to this restaurant around 2:30 pm for my lunch and I had to wait for 40 minutes to get the food.

The quality and quantity of food are truly impressive - every dish we tried was flavorful, fresh, and served in portions generous enough for sharing. It’s definitely one of those places where you get value for money when it comes to taste and serving size. That said, the service could use improvement. Instead of waiters approaching you proactively, you often have to call them multiple times to get attention for placing an order or even follow-ups.

Location – Easier to reach than many other restaurants in the area. Parking – We didn't have any problem. Ambience – Average. One may feel that the main hall is crowded. Small rooms are cosy. Cleanliness – Overall clean. Menu – A big one. A huge number of items are available. Hard drinks – A wide variety of IMFL and foreign liquor are available. Food – good overall. The price may appear to be a bit on the higher side but the portion and the taste are good. Service – Ok.

We’ve went for dinner, valet parking was there and we’ve to wait for around 45 minutes to get the seats as there was lot’s of foodies are there due to Durga Puja festival. Foods are awesome we’ve ordered gravy noodles and 4 starters which tastes good 😋. Recommend to others, you’ll get seats as per the availability of guest count not by the token numbers 🙃. Waiting hall is at the terrace and there are two big aquariums which will help you to pass the time. Overall good experience.

The restaurant is a busy place especially on weekends and festivals. They serve varieties of veg and non veg dishes. The quantity is decent and the price is reasonable. Fried wanton was good. Thai fried rice is rich with chicken, prawns, eggs and herbs, it is mildly spicy. The Hakka noodles is filling and contains good amount of veggies and chicken. The sweet and spicy mint dip was apt to dip wanton. The darsan with icecream and honey is the perfect dessert to end a happy satisfying meal. You can visit with family and friends. Due to high demand the place is busy so the waiting time could be long.

Visited this restaurant with family for dinner. Golden fried prawn is their signature dish, ordered half plate which is 7 pcs. It is really tasty. Sea food soup is okay. But main course ordered American Chopsuay which is not up to the standard. Fix fried rice was okay, chilli pork was good but chicken dish was not very good. Overall ambience is standard but not very nice. Service is also very systematic. Price is very reasonable, can say low so don’t expect much.

It's like a shopping mall for sweets. Always hustling and bustling...and what varieties! Stunned and overwhelmed by the range of sweets that are traditional and modern but most importantly authentic. The service can be a bit chaotic but you got to manage. They have sweets, doi and snacks sections. All equally good. First you choose whatever you want and inform the server who will be packing everything. He will then give you a card that must be given to the billing counter for fulfillment. Then you show the bill and take your eats. Easy peasy. There newest sweet of gondhoraj doi was fabulous 😍 Love this place and the hospitality is great. I forgot to mention that there's a section for bakeries and chatpata like chutney and biscuits, nimki or chips too. Must visit for locals and non locals.

I am from Punjab and got a cultural shock when I was charged for even tasting what I buy. In Punjab we encourage customers to taste before buying and are large hearted. Incidentally I bought sweets for 6k but was very disappointed by the attitude of the staff and owner. India is a very diverse country with great cultural differences.

A hidden gem of Punjabi food in town, this restaurant truly lives up to it's name. It's a small establishment in a lane near Acropolis, but the food is just too good. As per other suggestions here, we tried the Mutton Adrak ke Panje at first. It was soo good, tasty and succulent. The lasuni kebab is also nice. For mains, tandoori roti and classic butter masala just completed our appetite. Service is also good. Overall a really nice north Indian dinner, highly recommend this place for a tasty punjabi food affair!

I am not aware if this downgrade in quality is due to Durga Puja rush. The restaurant has severely degraded since my last visit. We ordered Chicken Biryani (380 INR), Chicken Tikka Masala (499 INR), half Lasooni kebab (220 INR) and masala kulcha (120 INR). The chicken Biryani was too bland for my liking. The chicken piece was soft and fresh though. The chicken tikka masala was too less in quantity, taste wise it was decent. The kulchas were a major letdown. There was hardly any masala in the filling, rather there was hardly any filling at all. Oil was brushed atop the bread instead of butter. For the price point, this was a waste of money. Ambience was good, service was fast.

I recently visited Punjabi Roti in Kolkata and had the Mutton Adrak Panja, which was absolutely delicious. The mutton was tender, full of rich Punjabi spices, and the ginger flavor really elevated the dish. What made the experience even better was the warm and helpful staff. I had a leg injury, and they immediately helped me find the most comfortable seating, making sure I was well taken care of throughout the meal. The service was quick and attentive, and even though the place is quite popular so the wait for a table can be long, it’s totally worth it. The overall ambiance combined with such great food and excellent service makes Punjabi Roti one of the best places to enjoy authentic Punjabi cuisine in Kolkata. Highly recommended!

Maybe, to an outsider, everything there is unlikable. It's located in a quite congested area. Usually (especially during busy hours) the restaurant is full. So one should expect to wait just in case. But then, Not a lot of space outside to stand. You will be struck by people (sometimes inadvertently!) who are walking on the pavement. There is Little room within as well. No air conditioning is available. Except early January the whole year will be sweaty and hot to visit such area and place. However, the reason I'm writing this review is to suggest this destination to those who appreciate heritage. Someone who appreciates tradition, learns from history, and is willing to absorb the past would undoubtedly enjoy this location. For that instant, they will put aside their agony and enjoy the tradition. In 1925, this joint was constructed! It's in such a great location. Imagine how many well-known people loved it at the time it was built. That consistently evokes a unique sense of thought. I advise you to check this site out at least once. I've heard recently that the owner's behaviour is lacking or that the meal quality has declined. However, I didn't encounter any strange activity throughout my more than ten visits. Furthermore, everywhere and in everything, quality will constantly decline. Thus, this is the ideal moment to seize before it's too late. Not to mention, the location is just a short distance from a metro station. Thus, a simple escape from the chaos, if needed. And one more thing to add, which might motivate one even more is the price. The cost of the dishes are really reasonable. So go for it. ☺️

Tried Mughlai Paratha in this iconic Cabin Restaurant. The Dish was crispy flaky . The layer of the Paratha was very thin and filling was great . It was a double egg one which costed Rs. 100/-. Good for 2 people . They served onion , tomato ketchup and Potato Aalo vegetable with it . Aalo Sabji was made with peel on it . Mughlai Paratha is actually going out of scene these days from Kolkata . It’s a heritage and most loved dish by not only Bengali’s but by all caste in Bengal . I would request everyone to go and try one and keep the dish alive . It’s an heritage place so don’t think of getting AC or Instagramable Ambience here .

Taste is worst. Quality amd quantity is very bad,and curry is not curry,its like boiled potatoes with little salt and too much turmeric.I’ll never go to this “anadi cabin”,never suggest to anyone,I suggest people eat fron foot it’s 1000 times better.And all those disappointment the cook asked for extra cash as tips,if the quality and quantity was good we are always ready to pay more than 200 for 2 mughlai but not here.They cook infront of you and also charge very less.After aet me and my husband said to each other that “if we aet from foot it would better”.100 for one egg mughlai is too much for this taste,According to taste it should cost 30rs. They should charge only 30 for this type of mughlai,not more than that.We work so hard for food, but if the food isn't good and it's expensive, it's very painful.I suggest people don’t go with flow/fame.

Anadi Cabin still attracts the crowd of foodlovers of Bengal, over the decades. It is located at SN Banerjee Road, at the heart of our beloved City of Joy. It is nearer to the Esplanade Metro Station. This cabin will not provide gorgeous cafe ambience, need proper cleanliness. But this iconic place will draw your attention with quality food. Iconic mughlai paratha is the famous item. A young guy from Midnapore came to Kolkata for job scope during pre-independence. He took the job as Baburchi at a restaurant. After getting the ownership from the original boss, that guy named balaram started his business. The restaurant was named after his son Anadi who passed away due to Tuberculosis. The profit from this restaurant goes to the school authority of Saithiya, Midnapore. That school was founded by Balaram Jana with the assistance of his scientist friend. Overall, the foodie public will enjoy the nostalgia, dynamic crowd prevailing the place with pocket friendly budget.

Food quality has dropped drastically for Anadi Cabin. No duck egg moglai and mutton kosha half plates was not tasty as it was a decade back. Quality compromised a lot. This was my last visit to have Moglai Paratha here

Delightful Experience with Excellent Service I visited Barbeque Nation for lunch along with my family today, and we had a truly enjoyable experience. The overall service, staff behaviour, kindness, and courtesy were excellent. The ambience was pleasant and welcoming, and we were impressed by the wide variety of starters, main course items, and desserts. The taste of most of the items was absolutely superb. A special mention goes to Mr. Kalipada, who was attending our table with great dedication. He consistently checked in to ensure we were comfortable and to inquire if any customisation was needed. We were also pleased to have the Head Chef personally visit our table to take feedback and offer customised service based on our preferences. However, we did face an issue with the mutton, which was undercooked and quite stiff. Initially, we picked it up from the buffet counter and found it difficult to chew. Upon informing the staff, they promptly brought a customised plate for us, but unfortunately, most of the pieces remained quite tough despite the gravy being delicious. Even after another attempt with a new plate, some pieces were still undercooked. It might be a matter of bad meat quality. Additionally, we found that the kasundi fish and prawns in the starters were slightly undercooked as well. But we have no complaints against the team, as they genuinely tried their best to serve us in every possible way. Their effort to provide a satisfying dining experience was clearly evident and much appreciated.

This is my preferred Barbeque Nation outlet in Kolkata. Buffet price is cheaper than other outlets. The service is impeccable as always, they are very attentive and prompt to our needs. The seating arrangements are especially always to our satisfaction. Food as always are so numerous that I could not even post all the photos. A spot well hidden in the alley of south kolkata, but not a hidden gem at all. Apanjan, known for their fish fry and other fry items, has been serving Kolkata Bengalis for decades and their legacy still continues. Visited this fry corner and tried their bestseller item large fish fry, accompanied with Fish Worly and chicken fry. The fish fry doesn't need any explanation (taste wise). They use vetki fish fillet, fresh and juicy, bursts a bomb of fishy flavour and freshness, highlighted with mustard sauce and freshly cut Onions. Extremely delicious and flavourful item. The chicken fry was also very good in taste, the entire fry was made with a chicken piece, but to my disappointment, it came with a large piece of bone in it. As for the fish Worly, it was much more similar to a batter fry, very oily and crunchy, the amount of oil somehow extinguishes the craving. Overall experience was pretty good, will definitely visit again to try their other hot selling items like fish singara, fish wanton, fish kachoris, etc. Only one drawback that I felt was they have only Cash payment, no UPI or online payment option is available here. So in case you plan to taste multiple items, do carry cash 😜.

I ordered from Apanjan in Kolkata with high expectations, especially because it’s known for its fish fry. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The fish fry I received was far from what one would expect—too oily, with the crust soggy instead of crisp, and the fish inside didn’t taste fresh. Adding to that, some of the other items we ordered felt mismatched and poorly put together, as if the flavors and combinations weren’t balanced. One of the most popular spots in Kolkata for fish fry. The Bhetki fry here is delicious - a thick, flaky piece of fish with a crispy coating that lives up to its reputation. Prices are on the higher side, and there is no seating available, so it’s more of a quick stop place than a dine in experience. Still, worth trying if you are a fish fry lover.

Best bhetki fish fry available in Kolkata, but I personally liked their Chicken mughlai 😋 They have a wide range of varieties in their menu, the fish fry had a sweetish hint, of flavour which was unique 💯 No seating or dining facilities are available and a minimum wait of 5-10 mins is expected for sure !

This is the best place for fish based snacks like fish fry, fish roll, fish pakora, fish kochuri etc in south Calcutta. Pure vetki fish is used and quality and quantity is absolutely fantastic. I had fish roll, egg devil and fish moghlai parota and all are delicious.

The worst experience i have ever had on my first visit (and ofcourse its last too). First of all the owners' behaviour is really unprofessional and rude. We paid to QR code via HDFC Bank account UPI system, after paying them the amount was deducted from my account,but his soundbox is not giving any voice confirmation, then we showed him our account statement where its clearly mentioning paid to 'Apanjan' and to their Kotak bank account, he is blaming us by saying that we change the setting so that money can be return back to the source account, i mean how could he can give this kind of false allegations against someone? He is not having the registered mobile where he can check,but can give blame to the customers. Later we gave the statement and our ph number so that they can contact us if the money is not reach to them.

Visited this place recently. Overall atmosphere and services are really nice. The food was good specially royal mutton chap and galwati kebab. If you plan for lunch then go only after 1 PM as not all foods are ready before that.

Very excited to visit this restaurant for their Mutton chap and biriyani. Today we tasted all. Mutton chap was very good 8/10. But Mutton biriyani was below average quality as per price. Very dry made with dalda no flavour nothing. Street biriyani is way better than this. Absolutely not recommended. Mutton piece was very small and stiff not rewaji khashi. Overall 4/10.

The is hype. I have visited all the famous Mughlai & Biryani restaurants in Kolkata but the taste is totally blunt, only saffron smell anyone can get. This is nowhere near to the chitpur Royal Indian restaurant.... Dissatisfied and disappointed.... Not recommended

Decent quality of food according to its price range. We ordered Chicken Chowmin and Fish Batter Fry, both were tasty. Overall in terms of food it's a thumbs up 👍🏻 However, it is worth noting that some items on the menu may seem somewhat overpriced. It was our second time visit but the service was not good. We understand it was crowded and people were waiting outside but the person who asked us to leave was very rude. Food was OK OK. Do not try their mutton egg devil. It was sweet.

Located close to the street and the seating in the front side is congested and a bit 🥵 . There is another room inside but it seems like it's reserved for regular customers etc. Tried a baby fish 🐠 and a 🍗 chicken cutlet. The place is quite good and the ambience totally gives you Bengali vibes. This was first time I went there and I loved both the ambience and food we ordered three dishes but I loved fish kabiraji most it was delicious😋. If your going there you must try fish kabiraji dish..you are going to love it.

Snacks served here are typical Bengali staff like fish chop, mutton chop, veg chop, mocha chop, fish fry, fish finger and many others. These are known as telebhaja in bangla literally meaning fried in oil. It is a heritage kind of telebhaja shop, opened in 1965, which makes it a 57 year old place that continues to satisfy the huge population of the city. The shop opens at 3/3:30 in the afternoon and generally winds up by 8 since they exhaust all the stock for the evening by that time. On a rough estimate they would be churning out more than 1000 fries every evening. I had mocha chop, dimer devil, fish chop, veg chop today, after about 45 years. I loved them all though I missed the alu chop and beguni.

As a regular visitor to College Street, I’ve walked past this shop countless times, always noticing the buzz around it but never stopping by, despite being well aware of its popularity. Yesterday, I finally gave in to curiosity and decided to try their much-talked-about Chop. And honestly, it is worth all the hype. They offer quite a variety of chops, we went for the Hans-er Dim-er Devil and Dim-er Chop. Both were spot on—the coating was crisp, the filling flavourful, and everything tasted freshly made. They served it with a splash of kasundi and a bit of salad. While the kasundi is a classic pairing, I personally felt it didn’t quite complement the Dim-er Chop. So, if you're looking for a quick snack that’s pocket-friendly and comes with a dash of nostalgia and heritage, this place is definitely worth a stop. Bonus tip: Watch out for the birds perched on the wires overhead! If you're not careful, you might end up with an unwanted condiment on your plate. 😄

The menu at Kalika is focused on chops, and they do them exceptionally well. The most popular ones are the vegetable cutlets, fish cutlets, and the mochar chop. All of the chops are made with fresh, high-quality ingredients and are cooked to perfection.

Very popular place for telebhaja, aka deep fried goodness. There is something for veggie and meat lovers alike. For those who are particular about things, it must be noted that everything is fried in the same pan. I tried the mochar chop. Good stuff! Not too oily, flavourful, and not too heavy. Comes with kasundi. Loved the combination. Good food, reasonable prices.

Eat well and Feed well! I went to the Mitra Café Shyambazar branch for an evening bite with my school friend. The space was compact but tastefully furnished with comfortable seating. The staff was very courteous and helpful in recommending the best flavors. Our order included Egg Moglai, Baby Fish Fry (Kolkata Bhetki) and Egg Mutton Devil. Every item we ordered had authentic Bengali flavors and cooked to perfection. The Egg Mutton Devil is a must try. Compared to the street style Devil, Egg Mutton Devil here was significantly different. Pricing was decent as well. The wait time is not excessively long. I would highly recommend this place.

I had fish kobiraji and chicken cutlet today The taste was not mind-blowing and if we pay 300 to 400 rs for these two items you atleast expect a decent cutlery... And a decent amount of sauce....

Known for their iconic fish kaviraji and fish cutlet but you can try other dishes like chicken mughlai with mutton kasha, various snacks items, and all dishes are fresh and tasty and they maintain hygiene all time at high priority.The price is very reasonable and you will get the best quality food that's a gurantee . Though their dining space is small but they maintain it well and make space out of it and the decoration is well and the art of work reflects in their wall which is very much pic savvy . The service is quite good and the behaviour of all staff is very nice and familiar. The location is also nice you can communicate easily with public transportation like bus or metro service. **Note- they do not accept any kind of wallet payment , for payment you have only two options either cash or card.

Very small but very beautifully organised and decorated place. Good ambience. Sitting arrangement for maximum 9-10 people at a time inside. Also sitting available outside. Disposable plates and cutlery are used. Pricing is a little high compared to quality. But taste is very good.

Awesome taste at a reasonable price. I had ordered wings and popcorn from swiggy and it was really cheap. I ordered popcorn and instead of 10 pieces got around 13-14 pieces. The size was also decent and quiet good. The wing was large and was crispy though it was delivered home.

Considering all the places which served fried chicken in the city, this place is probably the best of not close to. They have a secret for being the best. You see, fried chicken restaurants mostly focus on the crust being tasty and once you've eaten through that, the actual chicken tastes relatively bland. These guys, however, have unlocked the secret to the perfect fried chicken. They, I believe, marinate their chicken pieces for a long time which helps the pieces to soak in all the flavour after which they dip it in the crust batter and fry them. Their other secret to success is the in house masala which they sprinkle on top of the finished fried chicken. If you guys are reading this, you just gotta give them a try. They are damn good. Would have given them a 5 if they would not use so much crust on top of the pieces

Worth the short trek. With your maps app, it’s really easy though - all on what feel like alleys. Got the classics, chili pork and noodles. The noodles have a mild flavor, which some people called bland. I wouldn’t though it benefits from black pepper and hot sauce - which are on your table. It’s my first time trying this kind of Kolkata Chinese but I hope it’s not my last.

Best place for hangouts and regulars. Food is no doubt amazing. No complaints ever. One thing just, please maintain your portion sizes, it’s becoming lesser as you proceed.

I had breakfast at Ah Leung, Kolkata and tried their famous Singara Chow, steamed wontons, and chilli chicken. The taste was absolutely brilliant! It’s a small, family-run Chinese restaurant, and you can really feel the authenticity in their food. They even make their noodles fresh in-house, which adds a special touch to the dishes. A hidden gem for anyone who loves good, homely Chinese breakfast. Highly recommended!

Absolutely love this place for the food it offers. We always go there on Sundays and have our favourite dishes. The only thing to keep in mind is to be on time here, else you miss out on the good dishes especially on Sundays.

The service is fast. It takes almost 10 mins from order to delivery. I took mixed fried rice and chilly chicken. The fried rice has the right amount of prawns and chicken. Tastes good. The food is good and worth the prices .

Does not allow online even when option is available,they have recently put some notice mentioning no online upi available,I saw it for the first time today requesting to manage for one day, from next day I would give cash as I was short of cash. The people at the shop are not ready to hear and are adamant about paying cash, considering the fact that I am a regular customer there. I gave it 1 star as there is no option to give zero stars. Very unfriendly and unprofessional staff.

My relatives used to order from this place often so I decided to visit myself to save those ₹₹ delivery charges. I came to visit it today to try out the chicken cheese burger and Thai (piece chicken) and the flavour seems a bit different. The extra crunch and all was missing which was present some months ago. The taste was okish. Though their Chinese is much better than other outlets that's for sure. I think the food is good and is a great alternative to KFC or any other fried chicken stores. Their chizza is a 10/10. Of all the local fried chicken stores, this is top selection for anyone who Wants to taste kfc at a budget and verrrry little compromise.

I ordered chicken tandoori, taste is good but they put too much of red colour on it. After having the chicken tandoori our hand and lips got red by food colour.

Today I brought plates 2 hakka chicken noodles and I asked them about the amount of the noddles and they said it is enough for 2 people for one plate of noddles but after i got the noddles it was not enough for 1 person and the noddles doesn't taste good nor it is fried enough. And also I ordered chilli fish as I saw good rates in Google but the fish was not fried enough and also it tasted horrible even they used too much of soy sauce and even the curry stinked . I had to throw the chilli fish fully totally waste of money

It's a small restaurant having seating capacity of 16 people. But the ambience was good. AC was working properly. Had overall fine dining experience. Chilli fish was good in taste, mixed hakka noodles was also very tasty. Its a perfect budget friendly restaurant within Dum Dum Cantonment. But entrance is little narrow and have to be careful while climbing the staircase. Overall a very good deal..

This is a cloud kitchen based in baguihati, near jora mandir. They take online orders only. I had ordered rice, aloo posto and bhetkir paturi. The food was very beautifully packed in a tamper proof package. All the dishes were hot and was looking very fresh. Talking about the rice, the quality of the rice they use is good quality and it is a long grain rice. The quantity of the aloo posto that they are offering is pretty decent. The dish was semi gravy in texture and the poppy seeds were ground extremely well to give that richness and flavour to the dish. Now, bhetkir paturi .(my favourite) The fish was very fresh and was well washed. Many a times we get a bad odour of the raw fish while eating at the restaurant, but I haven't got any such odour while having their paturi. The fish was very beautifully wrapped in a banana leaf. This preparation lots of effort and skills to accomplish the dish and "malaicurry" has just nailed it. Once you put a slice of fish in your mouth, firstly you will get a fresh flavour of fish, then a strong flavour of mustard (as it is a mustard based gravy), subtle flavour of mustard oil and lastly the kick of chilli just in the back of your mouth. I just loved their dishes. Will order again very soon😌.

Tonight I ordered two egg chicken rolls and one double egg double mutton roll from this place. My previous experience was far better than today. Note: When you order or take delivery by yourself then the size and proportion of stuffing is huge but when you buy it from delivery agencies the size and stuffing is compromised. The chicken in egg chicken roll was missing salt and tasted blunt and it was very average in taste. The double egg double mutton was good but for Rs. 250 the size and quantity of stuffing was less. Overall this time it was not good but previous experience was very good.
