Live music venue
Concert hall
Train, established in 1998 by Chris Anker-Petersen, is a renowned music venue in Aarhus, Denmark. It has gained prominence for its commitment to quality and an impressive lineup of national and international artists. Following a renovation in 2014, Train now offers a professional and modern setting for both performers and audiences. The club also serves as a popular dance spot with multiple floors featuring different music styles.
A slightly different music venue, as it seems like a bar with a stage, but it worked very well for the Steve Hackett concert I attended. It made it a bit more 'intimate' - feeling closer to the band. Also, the sound quality was good.
Andreas A — Google review
Nice concert-venue. Its possible for not so tall people to see the stage because of the floor having different levels
Ian S — Google review
Nice facilities. Fine location. Cool concept. Very nice range in the shows bring performed there. Decent selection of beer og acceptable progress. If you are wearing a jacket or is mandatory to hand it in at the wardrobe. Proving for that is fine and the second is good, but it will leave a large queue when the show is over.
Niels H — Google review
Sound is really crap and forcing ppl to hand in their jackets and make them pay for that is an absolut no go! What's even the point of that, except for making more money? It's not as if I suddenly caught fire. Stop telling this is for "savety"
John B — Google review
Train is a strange venue. They have very little space in front of the stage. Their selection of drinks is extremely limited and generally poor. Completely standard liquors are not available, for instance, and the beer selection is a handful of Carlsberg brand on tap and no bottle selection to speak of. Prices are also expensive. Additionally they use ticketmaster for ticket sales which is a negative. It gets 2 stars because after all I can see concerts, even if I cannot enjoy a quality beverage with it. The toilets are also pretty large, so low queue.
Poul W — Google review
Great small venue for listening to music. You get a good intimate feel. The floor is in different levels and there is a balcony which makes it easy to find a good spot for viewing. The acoustics is average - best for simple and not too loud performances.
Tobias A — Google review
This concert from 06/11 2018 (Human League) was excellent and the location fitting, even when it was sold out. The mood of all people there was great and that was due to the cosy and not-so-big size of Train.
Thomas B — Google review

Pub
Sherlock Holmes Pub is an English pub located in the heart of Aarhus, Denmark. It offers a wide range of alcoholic beverages and hosts sports games regularly.
A classic British Pub in Denmark's Second city Aarhus. A hidden gem. The entire pub looks like it is stuck in time, with classic british pub carpets, copper pipe edge bars and dark wooden tables and bar tops. The bar is lined with classic bar stools. At the rear of the pub, you will find a cozy corner with bookshelves and comfy leather chairs and sofas. The oil candles and lowered lighting after sunset, add to the ambience of the venue. The music was entirely British classics from the 60s to 90s. The draft beers contain a varied selection of the best from British distilleries at relatively fair prices, considering they are imported. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. This place rivals many classic pubs in England and is definitely a place I would return to in the future.
Michael A — Google review
I visited this pub because of its cocktail menu, as i am a whisky drinker. I got a bit of a look after my clumsy attempt at Danish, so ordered in English - best Whisky Old Fashioned i've had in a while; the decor is nice, as is the ambience. Recommended.
Andrew P — Google review
The true British pub experience - a solid selection of beers and whiskeys. They show all kinds of sports and the bartenders are friendly and fun.
Emil V — Google review
British beers in a Sherlock Holmes themed British pub. Everything served at the correct temperature with courteous and knowledgeable staff. A must try for this in Aarhus looking for something a little different, but also a bit familiar.
Martin B — Google review
A cozy pub that has a rough edge in a good kind of way. Heavily Holmes themed, it's definitely a UK-styled pub. It has a good beer selection and smoking and non-smoking areas.
Patrick G — Google review
Nice place to hang out and watch the games. The staff are friendly, and the bar has very neat decor! Worth a visit
Heather M — Google review
Completly empty Pub, the Barkeeper was kind of Strange and was on his Laptop most of the time. Very nice selection of beer, lots of different styles and tastes could be tried if the barkeeper would pay attention and the Pub wasn't so empy.

Irish pub
Tir Na nÓg - Irish Gastropub, also known as The Tap Room, offers a cozy and authentic Irish atmosphere in Aarhus. It's a popular spot for enjoying beers, ciders, and a variety of whiskies while watching live sporting events. The pub is busiest on Saturdays around 11 PM and visitors typically spend 1-3 hours there. Some patrons have praised the friendly staff and spacious outdoor seating area.
What made our experience great was amazing waitress Katarina. Not only she greeted us with beautiful smile, she was very kind, professional and knowledgable. 100% recommend her.
Patrick F — Google review
Went there when it was rather empty. Service was good and food was quite good as well. I had the beef stew, which was a little salty but well balanced with the mashed potatoes. Just a little dark in the pub itself, which made it difficult to see.
Brey — Google review
Love this place. Best Guiness Irish Stew I've had in a long time! Great atmosphere and wonderful staff!
Jazz — Google review
EDIT: We went again. This time the experience was much better, the sandwich and wings were awesome and we even stayed around for a few drinks after. I'd love to go again if this is what I'll be served. Ben, the staff, was awesome! Went for dinner and was pretty excited, what a let down. The price is crazy. It is super expensive!!! We had starters (which was massive and nice only reason for one star), but the main was horrible. The pulled pork burger was super dry and fatty and the normal burger was raw. The staff was very sweet but kinda hard to grab the attention of, so we weren’t able to tell them about the food. After I paid (almost 900DKK) she asked how the food was and I told her it was horrible and burger was raw. She said “oh sorry” but that was it. I have regretted aince that I didn’t walk up to them before and told them the food was horrible. Wouldn’t recommend.
Julie H — Google review
Absolutely five stars and a plus for the kind and professional service. Whiskey sour was top notch, steak as ordered and bloody decent size not to say big. Seasoned less than more to allow your inner steak lover to adjust it as you want. Free coffee above all else. Chips and the sauce were just as good. Highly recommended. Will come back. Definitely.
Jānis Ķ — Google review
Fries are best. The beer and ambiance are fantastic. It became my fav in Aarhus.
Gökay A — Google review
Okey, guys have cool old furniture and good whiskey choice, as I suppose. But. Along the popularity (more than a thousand of reviews!) there are crowds and long wait for a waiter. And it was a super ordinary Moscow Mule :) Chose beer or whiskey here.
Katharina Y — Google review
Classy bar! Great staff and the regulars were welcoming. It's a great place if you want to get some affordable drinks, or want to spend a bit more on some top shelf beverages. This is a must visit in Aarhus! I'll be back for sure.

Bar
Located in the heart of Aarhus, The Australian Bar, also known as A-Bar, is a spacious and vibrant venue that caters to a younger crowd. With affordable drinks and lively pop music, it's the ideal spot for those looking to dance the night away. The bar offers student discounts and even the chance to score free beers if you're lucky. On select nights, they host special promotions such as a 10 kr bar on Thursdays and discounted prices on Fridays and Saturdays.
Young crowd with cheap prices. Beer and sommersby are 19kr for 0,5 L
Christian W — Google review
A place where one should never go. Drinks are overpriced and not so good, dance floor is ALWAYS sticky, the place itself is unclean, music is bad and dj’s just pretend to do something - what is the point of that? One of the worst places in the city.
Mama N — Google review
Weird place. Good for Friday party...disco place with young drunken people :-) but if you are foreigner you have unexpectable and unbelievable problems in the entrance with the guard mans. They can or cannot allow you go inside. Without reason, without explanation... depends on wearthet I think. If you ask why,no answer.
J Š — Google review
Locals-only bar - you need to have a residence permit (the yellow card) to get in. If you're a tourist, avoid this place. Shame it is not stated anywhere, I had to waste so much time waiting in a queue for nothing. Otherwise, I don't really know.
Piotr W — Google review
It take very long to serve you the drinks and thay are very light weight, they don't put almost any alcohol in it. But the rest is very good.
Catalina J — Google review
Good place to spend your weekend. Beautiful crowd. Price is normal. Best place for 18 to 24 years old.
Prem S — Google review
The place was very crowded, you had to wait in a line for a very long time even if you already had a stamp. Also, the place and surrounding smelled horrible. Very disappointed.
Diana P — Google review
A lot of smal rooms, not very good ventilation and the bartenders acted kind of weird. Standard bar atmosphere though

Museums
Observatories & Planetariums
The ARoS Aarhus Art Museum is a prominent art museum located in Aarhus, Denmark. It houses an extensive collection of Danish art from the 18th century to contemporary works, as well as a diverse foreign collection featuring renowned artists from various countries. The museum's striking exterior resembles a floating red-brick box and spans ten storeys.
I definitely recommend going to this museum. They have unique sections and any art lover would truly enjoy this space. There is something for everyone. The last floor has an amazing view and you can walk through a glass that changes colors. It’s quite a dynamic museum and they have a great gift shop as well.
Keti A — Google review
The building itself is pretty cool. Some of the exhibitions are nice. They have headphones but only in Danish. The roof top sky walk is fun to take photos of.
Irene K — Google review
suppose I hate modern art as most of this was dreadful to my eyes. I did like the landscape paintings and a few others but most of it was weird, bad or just utter nonsense. The two women cutting onions was the biggest joke they called art. I don’t get the rainbow roof either, so what? It’s tinted glass, for kids or Instagram/TikTokers it may be good but not for adults.
Rob — Google review
♿ Entrance = Yes ♿ Parking = Yes ♿ Building = Yes ♿ Elevator = small / medium sized The aarhus art museum is what I was looking forward to see for awhile now and I got the chance to do it today. I was a bit disappointed from the expectations as they do have 10 floors but in reality only 7-8. The highest floor has the rainbow colored glass and This is definitely the best part of the museum in my opinion. 2 levels below it as the human art which was decent. The floor below it was okay. And all the other floors wasn't worth checking out. 2 floors were for a younger audience. So if you're going as a family it may be worth visiting all the floors. If you're all adults. You may not stay there for super long. They have a cafeteria and toilets as well as Free WiF, they have a button that slows down the rotating door which is good for bad walkers or wheelchair usersi. It's not a bad place but not a super interesting one either in my opinion.
Crafo — Google review
Beautiful museum. A lot of stairs, but there are elevators available for people with difficulty to walk. We loved the interactive art area. We appreciated that the front desk employee warned us for a scarier exposition on the third floor, since we brought our child. That way we could avoid it. What could have made the experience so much better would be if they’d implement a play area for young children. Young kids can get bored or overwhelmed and it would be nice if they could de-stimulate in a play area/child friendly area. That way someone can watch the kids in the play area while the other can enjoy art in peace. The rainbow panorama is very noisy. This could trigger you if you’re sound sensitive. Best is to bring some kind of noise cancelling for a better experience. There was so much amazing art in this museum. It’s definitely worth a visit. Parking is a bit difficult. We went on a workday and there were very few parking spots available.
Manita P — Google review
Lovely Art Museum with a lot of modern art. They have a significant collection of Danish artists. Currently there is a Picasso and others on the display. You can also see Andy Warhol’s art there. On the top of the building there is a Rainbow Panorama which is very interesting. Art is spread over 10 floors in the building. Parking is not a problem around the museum. Inside you can have a coffee and a light meal.
Rafal K — Google review
Walking into ARoS feels like entering a soul. Not a building. A soul. There’s this weight in the air — not heavy like sadness, but like meaning. Like emotion stretched out over canvas and sculpture. Like a mirror you didn’t ask for, but couldn’t look away from. 🪞💔 You walk past massive human forms, surreal tunnels, and sometimes... just emptiness. But the kind that makes you want to cry and laugh and fall in love all at once. Every room feels like an emotion you once had — or tried to forget. 😭💗🖤 And then… then there’s the rainbow panorama. The city is below you, silent, distant, still... and you’re walking through color. Through emotion. Through perspective. Through the prism of your own heart. ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜 Every step changes how you see the world. How you see yourself. You start yellow, full of joy. Then blue… melancholic. Red… passionate. Green… calm. It's like mood rings for the soul. I walked that circle three times. Once with wonder. Once with longing. Once just to cry. 🌈🔁🫂 This isn’t just art. It’s emotional warfare. It rips you open and stitches you back up with neon thread. 🧵✨
Oliver — Google review
Incredible installations, both permanent and temporary. The rainbow panorama is also great fun. In my opinion, a must visit in Aarhus

Nestled in the vibrant heart of Aarhus, LAVA - Café, Restaurant, Bar is your go-to spot for a delightful escape from the city's bustling nightlife. This chic venue radiates sophistication while maintaining a cozy ambiance that welcomes all visitors. Whether you're in the mood for a refreshing glass of champagne or an exotic cocktail like their renowned Jamaican iced tea, LAVA has you covered with an impressive drink selection.
Very nice service and a bountiful brunch. Prices are comparable to other restaurants and bars in the surrounding area but you pay for the location. The waiter was very nice and thoughtful, service was fast and there's literally nothing to complain about other than prices being higher but hey, you get what you pay for
Jonx — Google review
I had a beef burger, which wasn't too expensive, yet very tasty and fairly big. Quality of service was very nice. The waitress took my order and was very helpful. Atmosphere of this place is nice. A very spacious bar, many choices from the menu. Some classics of music are playing inside, prices are bit high, but worth the service provided.
Kamilek — Google review
Bad service, seemed to be bored and not paying attention. Can't speak about the food, I left after half hour without even seeing the menu.

Excellent service🫡 and staff were really amazing at welcoming customers and friendly to foreigners as expected 😁. I tried the recommended food thats the club sandwich (which was good👍🏾) but the fries idk why but they were 👌🏽👌🏽. You can have a look at my half finished sandwich 😝
Pratik K — Google review
Bruch is average. Reasonable price. Staff were nice, but slowly food served.
Thanaporn S — Google review
Amazing service and very big portions for brunch menu.
Agne I — Google review
We ordered a place and a three course meal through early bird. The service was terrible, it felt like the restaurant was run by a bunch of kids. We got the starter 40 minutes after we ordered it, the hamburgers (main course) were absolutely drowning in mayonnaise and we had to go to the waiters and remind them to order us the next course each time. The only saving grace was the dessert. We will not be returning.

There was no drinks menu but the staff could fix pretty much any drink we wished for. The place is quite small and half of it is smoking area so wouldn’t recommend to people who are trying to avoid big crowds or be smoke free. Otherwise it has quite a cozy atmosphere and cool bartenders

[this review also includes Atlas] Nice musical variation on the posters; Voxhall covers jazz, rock, urban, world and metal. The sound is satisfying for the most part, the service is friendly, and the bar offers a neat selection of beers and other beverages.
Kristian E — Google review
Great music venue, friendly staff.

Pretty nice venue with okay sound. Somewhat sterile atmosphere. Not a lot variety of beers and they're expensive. No indoor smoking area, although there is an outside area with cover from the rain.
Benjamin J — Google review
Really fantastic crew of the venue 🙂 and the venue is fantastic 😁
Mariusz B — Google review
Lovely venue for heavy metal. Lots of different subgenres within the genre, but when festivals are held there tends to be an overabundance of death metal, which can get repetitive - this is not, however, a criticism of the venue, as it is generally on point when it comes to sound quality.

Cocktail bar
Herr Bartels is a popular bar in Aarhus where locals usually go on Wednesday to Saturday night. The bar is packed with fun-loving Aarhusians often from Monday to Friday, and it's the perfect place to spend your evening if you're looking for good mood and high spirits. The bar serves classic cocktails at rock-bottom prices, making it one of the cheapest places in town to enjoy drinks.
Decent music, decent drinks, good location, quite some people standing (which is more dynamic).
Antonio S — Google review
Last night, while we were trying to decide what to drink at Herr Bartels, I saw the bartender preparing a cocktail and called out to ask what it was. After ignoring me several times, he signaled me to be quiet with his hand and didn’t even bother to ask what we wanted to order. I’ve never felt so humiliated. Needless to say, we left the place. I sincerely hope someone reminds that kid—who thinks he’s a bartender—that he’s not working in a library.
Burcu G — Google review
Cheap drinks and the best music, that’s all you need

Used to be the best place in Aarhus. Seems like a good place to work at though when instead of taking care of the guests workers on and off shifts just drink and chat together instead. Cocktails are simply bad.

Amazing cocktails, and skillful bartenders, and I highly recommend it.😃 The only issue was the music was way too loud, you couldn't have a normal conversation. 😞

Food court
Aarhus Street Food is a vibrant food court located in a former bus garage, drawing inspiration from London's Borough Market. The venue offers an array of international cuisines, including Italian, Mediterranean, and Turkish options. Visitors can savor Thai treats, crispy pizzas, fish & chips, Scandinavian meatballs and more at traditional Danish long tables. Additionally, Aarhus Central Market provides the opportunity to purchase Danish delicacies and freshly prepared dishes to go.
I had the chance to visit the Aarhus Street Food Market during a one-day stop while on a cruise, and it was absolutely worth it! I had seen several YouTube videos highlighting the market and made a point of including it in my short time in Aarhus—and I’m so glad I did. It definitely lived up to the hype. The market is located just a short walk from the train station and is cleverly housed in repurposed shipping containers, which gives it a cool, industrial vibe that fits perfectly with the laid-back but lively atmosphere. There’s a great mix of indoor and semi-outdoor seating, making it a comfortable spot to hang out whether it’s sunny or raining. What really stood out was the incredible variety of food options. From traditional Danish smørrebrød to flavorful Thai noodles, fresh tacos, juicy burgers, and more, there’s something for absolutely every taste. The international flavors are authentic and well-prepared, and I loved that you could see each vendor putting care and heart into what they served. I ended up trying a few different dishes to get the full experience, and everything was delicious. There are also drink options, including local beers and specialty cocktails, and plenty of spots to sit and enjoy them. The market was clean, well-organized, and had a vibrant, welcoming feel. Whether you're a foodie, a casual traveler, or just looking for a memorable place to eat, Aarhus Street Food Market is a must-visit. Would 100% recommend making this a stop—even if you're just in Aarhus for the day!

So many food choices! It's worth stopping and enjoying the cuisine. Summer days make the outside lively with folks enjoying food, drinks, and ice cream. Inside, there is a primary bar and another for non-alcoholic drinks, and on warm days you'll find more seating. Pick from a variety of food, some Danish but many others too.
Michael M — Google review
We loved it here - great food options for all tastes including vegetarian and vegan. There was cuisine from across the world as well as Danish food and some nice bars and coffee shops. We visited during the day when it was child friendly and there was plenty of space available.
Tim J — Google review
Excellent food hall located close to the main train station with so many different food options available. I had the falafel wrap from “Zaatar” and it was good. Personally the bread was a bit too flakey for my liking, but still good and the portion generous. Recommended!!

Perfect place to try different cuisines in Aarhus. They have many stalls like Mexican, Indian, Korean, Japanese, Thai, Middle East and many more. There is indoor and outdoor free seating available. The place is self serve and very functional. Must try: Thai curry, Nachos, Falafel wrap, Japanese Bao and Savory crepes.
Shubham G — Google review
Aarhus Street Food is a fantastic concept that brings a diverse array of cuisines under one roof, creating a vibrant, multicultural dining experience right in the heart of the city. The atmosphere is lively, with friendly staff and plenty of seating, making it an ideal spot for locals and visitors alike to enjoy a wide variety of flavors. Its central location also makes it easily accessible, whether you’re grabbing a quick bite or meeting up with friends. I had the chance to sample dishes from Japanese, Middle Eastern, and British stalls, and each one delivered on quality and taste. It’s clear that a lot of attention goes into ensuring each dish feels authentic and satisfying. From fresh ingredients to carefully prepared spices, every dish offered something unique and flavorful. One area that could improve the experience, however, is the payment system. While you can order online from all stalls on the same website, payment still has to be made separately at each stall’s counter. This makes the process slower and a bit inconvenient, especially during busy times. Having an option to pay online as well as order would streamline the experience, making it quicker to pick up your food. For example, at Wolf Food Hall in Brussels, which I recently visited, both ordering and paying could be done online, which enhanced the experience significantly and encouraged people to try even more dishes. All in all, Aarhus Street Food is a must-visit for anyone in Aarhus who wants to explore a variety of flavors in one spot, and with a few adjustments to the payment process, it could become an even more enjoyable dining experience. I’m looking forward to returning and seeing how it continues to evolve!

A MUST VISIT This is a great place to visit. Plenty of small street food cars - lots of choices. We have been here several times, and we always have a good time. They do also have public restrooms - normally nice and clean. There are indoor as well as outdoor seating areas. Definitely a must visit when in Århus.
Dan M — Google review
The place to go when none of your family members/friends can decide on one thing to eat, just go to this place and everyone can order what they want. Once you order at the food stand of your choice you get a buzzer so you can go back outside/to your table and wait until the food is ready. I had been craving korean fried chicken for sooo long on our trip so when I saw that they had it here I was so happy 🥹 + you get actual cutlery and not just plastic ones!

St. Pauls Apothek, located in the old pharmacy building on Jaegergardsgade in Aarhus, offers a unique dining and cocktail experience. The establishment's industrial decor sets the stage for an exceptional evening out. While it no longer brews elixirs to cure ailments, its skilled bartenders craft delicious cocktails that complement the delectable dishes prepared by talented chefs. The venue's ambiance is laid-back with candlelight and jazz music, providing a pleasant atmosphere for patrons.
A true taste workshop. We were in awe of the superb taste and texture combinations of the dishes and associated cocktails. Elaborate introduction to each dish, by very friendly waitresses. Relaxing and light atmosphere. Very correct prices: 3 course 'Apothekeret' menu with accompanying cocktails for 645 DKK.

Nice concept of drinks to follow the food, and it actually works. The acoustics are not good and you need to shout across the table to hear each other.

I love the internal coherency in most of the servings as well as most of the cocktails - not to forget the coherency between the food and the offered cocktails. Love it! I would love to give five stars in general but the high chairs in the front room where we dined are not suitable for a four hour sitting.

Waxies is a lively and popular Irish pub located in central Aarhus, offering a vibrant atmosphere and energetic crowds. The three-story bar features a diverse menu with cocktails and 23 different beers, making it an entertainment hub with weekly pub quizzes, live music, sports programming, and karaoke. The spacious venue is ideal for parties or gatherings with friends, featuring regular live music performances on the first floor stage.
Great beer, amazing service! Very friendly! Would definitely come back again, even if just to taste the Christmas beers!!

If you are free on Sunday afternoon in Aarhus visit Waxies and enjoy a great session of Irish music. As a bonus you can watch premiership sports on a big screen without commentary. The bar also sells beer at reduced prices for the duration of the session.

Weekday prices (Sunday to Thursday) for a draft beer for only 44 DKK - amazing!!!! This bar is extremely calm and well received if you are coming here for beers with friends and want a nice conversation (weekends is something more of a club I can imagine). The selection of beer is a majority all under the Carlsberg Group, but they have a very good selection of different beers! Bartenders are extremely friendly and good at their jobs.
Phillip L — Google review
The reason I am sharing this is the mistreatment I have had during my visit. Manager claimed I don't buy anything, that's why I have been cancelled to sing in the kareoke after the first song which this happened after 2 Danish guys wanted to sit where I was sitting which I allowed them to but they wanted all the seat to themselves so they could talk to girls and they felt entitled because I was drinking water after I bought my bear. They complained that I don't buy anything and went to the manager. The manager that said I didn't buy anything said I cannot sing then after I showed my receipt for the things I bought, he was like you didn't buy enough. He also complained that I take his time in a manner which I was being blamed for. I will definitely go for a formal complaint. Unacceptable 👎
E I — Google review
If you come for the karaoke, you shall expect that it’s always delayed when it’s advertised to be scheduled on a specific time. So there are just thinking about money and not the customers. This is sad to have this experience before I am gonna have one of my feet in a cast for 6 weeks!!! It’s sad to see what Waxies has turned into after they got new owners. If you want something better then go to Lucy’s or Golden Lion.
Maria — Google review
Ben the quizmaster has wrong answers to his quizzes which is very unprofessional, and as well he is very rude and doesn’t start karaoke on time, and says it’s in that period it will start, and not from 22. Never go to this place, it’s a waste of time!

Fatter Eskil is a popular venue for music lovers, hosting more than 300 concerts and jam sessions each year. The intimate bar features a wide variety of live performances, with Danish musicians and bands predominating. It's located in the heart of the city centre, making it easy to get to. There may be entry charges depending on the night/performer, but the food is delicious - even if you feel like you're going to the slaughterhouse getting in!

Ris Ras Filliongongong is a popular bar in Aarhus’ hip Latin Quarter. With its rustic decor, friendly staff, good music and low prices, it's a favorite spot for locals. The vintage furniture and quirky titbits make Ris Ras feel like the living room of a cool local friend. This place is small and intimate, perfect for relaxing after an busy day. After an hour, it becomes more of a bar with live music and lively crowds.
Super subjective review since this place holds a special place in my heart. I used to come here all the time when I was a student. I'm happy to see that after 20 years, it looks the same. It's smokey as hell and the furniture is older than all the patrons combined but I still love it. Great selection of beers on tap.

From mid-afternoon it's a real bar, not a cafe. Very Turkish feel, with nice micro-brew beers (not a Tuborg house!). Good vibes. After an hour, feeling the Turkish influence, am sure I'm getting bitten by bugs living in the sofa!

One of the few places left where you can smoke inside. This is a good beer bar. The crowd is young university types, the selection of beers is good, and then they let you smoke inside. They have games, and a very relaxed atmosphere. This is a small place, and there is always many people here,. So if you are in a big group, expect there not to be room for you. The city of Aarhus offers a plethora of attractions including ARoS - Aarhus Museum of Art, The Old Town open-air museum, Botanical Garden, Marselisborg Palace, Moesgaard Museum, Tivoli Friheden Theme Park and more.
Denmark’s longest church is definitely worth a visit! It’s just middle of Aarhus . Remember to climb to tower which is around 150 steps to top and its cost like 10 dkk. Than you will see the gergouse view of the city ,unfortunately my short time I could only make it to see inside of church . It’s like 525 years old . Such a beautiful details inside . I can say that u can easly spend an hour for the see all church. Highly recommended…

We visited Aarhus for the day while on a cruise, and Aarhus Cathedral (Skt. Clemens Kirke) was one of the most impressive sights of our short stop! Located right in the city center, it’s impossible to miss—its towering spire dominates the skyline and draws you in from blocks away. Dating back to the 14th century, this is Denmark’s largest church and an important historical landmark. The exterior is beautiful, but stepping inside truly took our breath away. The architecture is stunning, with high vaulted ceilings, intricate woodwork, and centuries-old frescoes that have been beautifully preserved. You can really feel the history in every detail. Even with limited time in the city, this cathedral was well worth the visit. It’s peaceful, awe-inspiring, and gives you a real sense of Aarhus’s heritage. Whether you’re into history, architecture, or simply want to take in a quiet moment while exploring, Aarhus Cathedral is a must-see. Highly recommended if you're visiting the city—even just for the day!
Celine L — Google review
If you come to Aarhus, you should come here. You can feel the grandeur of the cathedral. You can get in there for free and it was 5kr to go up to the tower. You can see the view of Orhus. But I didn't go up.

Beautiful cathedral that had organ music playing when we came. Lots of amazing frescoes to pore over. Free entry and free toilet. Read their brochure for information on why there is a ship hanging in "the ship" part of the cathedral or why the patron saint is holding an upside down anchor. The entry to the clock tower was unfortunately closed when we visited.

Fantastic cathedral , free to enter although I believe there is a fee for climbing the tower. Lots of frescos, tombs and art. If you are there when the organ plays it will blow your mind. If worth a visit and there are toilets too

Fascinating cathedral with many frescoes from the 15th and 16th centuries (also one from the 1300s!) and a unique altarpiece created in the mid-1400s. Take your time in here, there is a lot more to see than first appears. Buy one of ylthe pamphlets at the entrance in order to really appreciate this well-preserved cathedral.

Tivoli Friheden is a family amusement park located around 2 km south of Aarhus city center, close to the woodlands of Marselisborg. The park offers traditional carousel and Ferris wheel rides, as well as 5D cinematic experiences and laser games. It's a perfect change of pace for children tired of historical landmarks and museums in Aarhus.
We recently spent a fun-filled day at Tivoli Friheden in Aarhus during the Halloween 🎃 week, and it’s a perfect destination for families looking for excitement and entertainment. The park offers a great variety of attractions for all ages. Our little one loved the kiddie rides and playground areas, while the older family members enjoyed the thrill rides like Hjertekig and Cobra. The park is well-organized, and the staff are friendly, creating a welcoming atmosphere for visitors. One of the highlights was Sky Tower, a free-fall experience that’s not for the faint of heart but was an absolute thrill! We also appreciated the park’s scenic areas and green spaces, which provided a nice place to relax and have a break between rides. The dining options were surprisingly diverse for a theme park, with everything from classic fast food to cafes with healthier choices. We enjoyed a lovely meal at one of the outdoor seating areas, which had a great view of the park. We spent about five hours there and felt like we could have stayed even longer. Overall, Tivoli Friheden offers a wonderful blend of thrills and family-friendly attractions, making it a must-visit when in Aarhus. Highly recommended for families or anyone looking for a fun day out! We stayed there from 10 AM all the way until the closing time of 9 PM.

We had an amazing day! It was opening day and not too crowded, so the lines were moving pretty quickly. The stairs in the illusion house and the dodgem bumper cars were the highlights (& the ice cream!). The mini gold course was very challenging. Hope to come back sometime.

This place was on my wishlist to visit while in Denmark and it did not disappoint! Whimsical amusement park with a beautiful walking path, good food and scenic views. We split a burger and fries, should have had the fish and chips instead and the ice cream was delicious! Pizza was one of the best I’ve had in a while. Would recommend and will revisit sometime soon.
DesignDivatoo A — Google review
So, let's get things started. Food: I got no complaints, at least... for the food itself. Man, those prices are high. Classic theme park prices here. Service: This is where I will speak on the scare actors. Fantastic! They are everywhere and will sneak up on you no matter what you're doing. Ordering food? Prepare to have a clown standing, staring, waiting for you to turn. Despite all this, as soon as the scare actors saw something wrong, they would help. Throughout the day I saw them help families with buggies, support people that are upset and guide people in the right direction. Rides: The drop tower was pretty good. The roller coaster was honestly pretty forceful, providing nice inversions and a very steep first drop. Environment: Wow! During the day this place looked alright I guess. Some good decorations involving pumpkins but it was very basic. Just grassy, that's it. During the night though? The whole place lit up! The lights were mesmerising. It went from random forest to Neo Toyko in a second.
Aidan S — Google review
Nice little park with ok rollercoasters. There are entertainment for all ages. Many places to eat or drink, or just enjoy a bench int he park.
Kim R — Google review
This is a great amusement park which is easy to get to using public transportation. If you’re here on a cruise ship, it’d be a great place to stop at. The roller coasters weren’t the best, but the overall park was great. It’s a bit pricy but so is everything in Denmark.
Daisy P — Google review
It's fine, a good way to spend a couple of hours. The highlight here is the (separately paid) high rope course. However, it doesn't hold a candle when you compare it to other bigger theme/amusement parks like the amazing Djurs Sommerland because Tivoli seems to mostly only buy the cheapest, second hand attractions.

I had dinner here as a dine-in guest and ordered a shrimp dish and a burger. The shrimp was absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked. The staff were incredibly polite, clean, well-dressed, and very hardworking. The environment of the restaurant is beautiful, with a nice option to sit either inside or out on the balcony. However, the burger was a terrible experience. The first time it arrived, it was completely raw inside. I asked for it to be cooked more, and they kindly brought me another one. That one was slightly better cooked, but still raw in the middle and had a very bad smell and taste — it made me feel nauseous. I asked them again to cook it more, and they brought yet another burger. They even kindly offered me a free drink while I waited. But unfortunately, the third burger was still not edible. I couldn’t eat it, and the entire plate was left untouched. Since eating there last night, I’ve had an upset stomach and feel unwell. The meat had a very unpleasant odor and taste. That said, I truly appreciate the effort and kindness of the staff — they tried three times and were extremely respectful throughout. They also insisted on not charging me for the drinks, which I really appreciated.

It's very nice to come to and have drinks. The staff is professional, hasn't changed👏. Unfortunately this time the food was so disappointing the food. We love to come to this place, we enjoy the food, wine the atmosphere, thats why we keep on coming back. It has been a while , so we (4 persons) decided to come have dinner. We had tapas, and it was tasty, no doubt. The price doesn't match the portion of the food. They have reduced on the portions of the tapas that you have to have double or triple to be full🙄. Seriously, it's too much that i don't want to come back. I hope I'm not the only one who has noticed!!

We ordered a Piña Colada to share for 290kr. When we got our Piña Colada it tasted awful. It wasn’t even close to being a Piña Colada, the taste reminded us of danish Koldskål or lemon milk. We drank about 3 sips, payed and left. We never plan to return again.
Emma S — Google review
The food was very tasty. Small portions as you’d expect from tapas but I felt smaller than expected. The crab gratin was overpriced at 110kr for a tiny dish without much crab and no bread or cracker to dip. The chef likes salt. A lot. I have no problem with that except when you don’t bring water to the table and you can’t get water without paying for it. Ok - looked like that was going to be some sort of charity donation when the bottle came, but still. That much salt needs plentiful free water. Overpriced for the amount of food but all did taste very good. The star was the shrimp “hotdog”
Heather T — Google review
The staff were attentive and nice. We ordered a vegetarian brunch and a regular brunch. They subbed the hot dog and croque monsieur with a polenta open toast. Cocktail bar
Gedulgt is a hidden gem in Aarhus, Denmark, offering creative cocktails in a speakeasy-style setting. Tucked behind an unmarked green door near the Aarhus Street Food market, this bar boasts a vibrant and flavorful cocktail menu that incorporates local ingredients with globally sourced spirits. The austere interior contrasts with the colorful and bold drinks served here. Additionally, Gedulgt hosts cocktail workshops where guests can learn to prepare two different pre-selected cocktails.
My favourite bar in Aarhus and just the most delicious cocktails in town and maybe in Denmark! ❤️ the service is great and very special. The prices are fair and for the quality it’s just a great hidden gem for people to visit in Aarhus!
Kenia O — Google review
Really fun cocktail experience—definitely not something I expected to find in Aarhus. The atmosphere is excellent, and the service was also very good. For the drinks, my review is a bit more mixed. While there’s lots of creativity, the taste didn’t always match the presentation. Also, not every drink has that big visual impact, as many come in pretty simple glasses.
Alexis — Google review
Super fun and unusual cocktails. Speak easy, low key place in town. Not easy to find and need to book table in advance as they are super popular. Service is very good and adds to the experience. Easy to get boozy and goofy, alert - it can get super fun 😊
Ember B — Google review
Definitely overrated. Had a cool interior, staff were nice but maybe a little outnumbered. Drinks were pretty average, nothing special. Most of them were put with gimmicks to distract you from their mediocre concoction. One of them is literally just Prosecco with candy floss on top… I had the popcorn one first, based off recommendation, tasted of nothing, I had suggested they use Nixta corn liqueur in it instead because that tastes exactly like it. They did however take it away and off our bill which was very generous. I had then had a take on a rum old fashioned which was pleasant but tasted watered down and lacked depth from which you’d expect from the extensive list of ingredients. There are definitely better bars in the city.

If you're in Aarhus and have a penchant for margaritas, there's a cocktail bar in the city center that you absolutely must visit. This hidden gem offers not only classic margaritas but also creative spin-offs that will tantalize your taste buds. The bar's underground and cozy setting, combined with a lean, New York-inspired atmosphere, makes it a unique spot for cocktail enthusiasts.
Rane B — Google review
Literary a hidden gem! Hard to find as there are no signs outside but worth the effort. Innovative drinks - nice staff - cool experience. One of Aarhus’ best cocktail bars!
Hans H — Google review
AWESOME COCKTAILS SUPER SERVICE My wife and I have come here several times. From when they first opened up until today - and we will continue to return. The cocktails they make always surprise you - always something astonishing new. And they ALWAYS taste really good. Last time we were here was in JUN 2025 with friends and family. And we got a chance to sample… a lot. Definitely worth while a visit.

OUTSTANDING WINE BAR My wife and I have been here several times. And this place continuously impresses us. The service staff is open, polite and professional - and most importantly they like to talk about wines- and they seem to know a lot. So it is always a pleasure to go here for wine and a snack - and a talk about wine. It seems like the place is always full of people - so better book a table if you want to go.
Dan M — Google review
Lovely little wine bar hidden away from the masses. A few seats outside but very tasteful decor and an all round picturesque setting. On this occasion, whilst my partner sunk into some bubbles, I only fancied a beer (there was only one available but it was delicious). The service is top and it's well worth the visit

Great atmosphere! Super friendly owners/staff. The wine tasting flight is awesome when you aren’t sure what to get and it comes with water.

Cozy place, lovely food and what is most important a good selection of delicious wines. The only negative thing was that the service was super slow and some orders were forgotten
Dóra S — Google review
Great wine with good prices. Really good and nice service! Nice location and you can sit outside in the sun or inside on a more chill day
Katrine D — Google review
In the center of the city this small bar offers a good selection of wines. It's an easy going and quiet place for a fun night out. They have an okay selection of wine by the glass, but when it comes to port wine the selection is limited, as is the knowledge of the wine. Price-wise it's a bit expensive. However, the glasses are generously served.
Henrik T — Google review
Very knowledgeable staff and great wine selections. Went there solo to read and have a few glasses and it was the best experience and final night in Aarhus. Many different options and many different price ranges.

great hotel, close to the sea and to a restaurant area (like 10 minute walk). The rooms are super nice and we had a nice view of the city. I also had the breakfast and it was amazing. everything was fresh and there was a large variety of things to choose from.

The hotel has it all, but most important the view. It does not get any better, with a perfect view over Århus and the sea. Bar area and restaurant are vre cosy and the hotel is easy to get around in. Location vice it is a bit out from center, but in walking distance of everything you might want to see on the city.
Emil K — Google review
The hotel overall is decent, very central in the heart of the city, 8 mins walk from the main train station and the old town. This hotel doesn't offer coffee machines and mini bar at the rooms. What I find weird is that u have to order room cleaning via a barcode you have in your room, otherwise they don't clean it. Overall value for money and considering the location, I think it's not a bad option.
Tony R — Google review
Noisy, dusty, and horrible parking. Don’t book this hotel if you arrive by car. Parking conditions are horrible. The hotel has very limited parking spaces. They will sell you a parking ticket despite all parking spaces are already sold out. There is no alternative parking spaces in approx 1km distance from the hotel. The hotel is in the middle of a construction site. It is quite noisy too.

Nestled by the river, Bodegaen is a charming bar that has been delighting patrons for about seven years. Known for its incredibly affordable drinks, you can enjoy a large draft beer for just 25DKK and snag ten shots for only 100DKK. This cozy spot welcomes guests every day until the early hours, making it an ideal hangout with friends where laughter and conversation flow freely.
Cheap drinks and nice people and friendly staff. You need to visit if you like to start your evening at a bar before you going to hit the clubs or just keep hanging. They are most days open until 5 am.
Jan Z — Google review
Been a few times, ok for a beer. Had a cocktail the other night, it didn't really taste of anything, and they use some pre-mixed draft alcohol as the base (apparently it has a bunch of spirits in it?) Avoid, feels like some watering down exercise.

Bodegaen in Aarhus by the river is a fantastic spot for a young group of friends looking to enjoy some beers and drinks. The atmosphere is lively and inviting, making it a great place to hang out and unwind. The interior is cozy with a charming, rustic vibe, and the outdoor seating provides a lovely view of the river, especially in the evening. The drink selection is excellent, offering a wide variety of beers and cocktails to suit all tastes. We found the prices to be very fair, especially considering the prime location. The staff was friendly and attentive, adding to the overall positive experience. Whether you're starting your night or looking for a place to settle in, Bodegaen provides the perfect setting for a fun and relaxed evening with friends. Highly recommend for anyone looking to enjoy Aarhus' vibrant nightlife.

I was there in the evening. So no dinner/food. Wide variety of cocktails: Moscow mule in copper mug great, but why served with a slice of ginger? Alcoholic drinks are expensieve in Sweden! Service was enthusiast but maybe not always knowable.

The name tells you all you need to know. Pretty pleasant place, nice smoking area, classic games to play, and fairly fair prices. Great atmosphere facilitated by surprisingly fair prices as well as friendly bartenders with great taste in music. Great place to chill and have a cold one, whether you are on your own or in a group. Spacious interior as well as a seperate section for customers who smoke; so as to not alienate people who prefer to avoid unpleasant fumes of the second-hand variety. I'd recommend this bar for anyone who would like to immerse themselves in a casual, layman's bodega experience, or someone on the lookout for a new watering hole.

Loud, smokey and warm. Music is rock or metal, beers are reasonable priced and people are thankfully a little older than on the bars around it. This bar has been the same for the last 20 years I visited it. Go or dont. Cheers!

We were brought to this spot by a couple of locals after meeting them at the Volbeat concert in June 2019. This was the highlight of the trip! The music at this bar is awesome! Nothing like this at home. We made friends with people from Denmark, England, Iceland and Wales! Everyone was friendly and we had a blast! We partied until nearly 4am even though we had to catch a 9am train. We didn't want the night to end.

One of my favorite bars/pubs ever! I have many great memories associated with this place. First off, this isn’t a fancy upscale bar, but rather an “underground”, loud rock pub. Very laid back and unpretentious. I know personally most of the staff and owners and they’re all super nice and friendly. Cheap drinks, especially for Aarhus, and you can smoke indoors. Very importantly - great music! I’m a big fan of classic rock from the 60s, 70s and 80s, and I always find some of my favorites on their playlist. You can also make requests, when they’re not too busy. Usually they’re open very late, so party up!

The establishment boasts charming cut-outs of various beer brands on its ceiling and features two dedicated dart lanes.

This is probably the most authentic English Pub in Aarhus, with a great atmosphere and a vast variety of beers on tap as well as bottle - some carried permanently and some more seasonally. The pub is split in to two sections, one being a "typical" bar and one with two dedicated dart lanes, has a substantial outside seating area and - especially during the late spring to early autumn - often have live jazz music.

Agreed with another comment. Last week was with my friends(mixed races) waiting in the queue and when our turn came in to go, the guard suddenly increased the age limit to 25 from 23 since one of our friend was 24. Clemens Bro, this bar offers a welcoming ambiance perfect for dancing and enjoying conversations with friends over drinks. Known particularly for its extensive selection of gin and tonics, it’s a must-visit for cocktail enthusiasts. The venue caters to an adult crowd, ensuring a mature atmosphere free from rowdy disturbances—guests must be over 25 to enter.
Loving the vibe; music & the crowd. Mix mature young-adult crowd. Saturday night music was great to dance. I definitely come again for the nightouts in Aarhus. I currently live in Aalborg & went to Aarhus for the night outs. And Clemens Bar end my fun weekend in a good tone :)
Novi H — Google review
So this is one of the more mature places to go clubbing in Aarhus. The crowd is actual adults which is great, since you don't get covered in other people's drinks or get grinded by strangers. They have a great selection of gin, but mix it with a really bad, cheap tonic, so what's the point? The DJ was not great at all, and I'm pretty sure he was the one controlling the lights as well, since someone hit the black out toggle way too often and too long. The bar staff worked fast and the dancefloor was alright, but it was really cold in this area due to the aircondition.
Cecilie C — Google review
I had a very unpleasant experience at Klemens Bar Aarhus. My friend and I were denied entry without any explanation, while the white people right behind us in line were allowed in with no issues. This was not the first time, and I have spoken with other Africans who shared the same experience of being turned away at this bar. The pattern is clear: people of color are treated differently. It feels like outright racism, and no one should have to go through that humiliation. Aarhus deserves better than a place that discriminates at the door. I cannot recommend Klemens Bar to anyone until they take accountability and change these practices.
Eddy M — Google review
Fun but the music isn’t for jazz/base-heads!

⸻ Awful place with racist staff. I came with a friend, we sat at a free table for about 1.5 hours and ordered several cocktails. Then a group arrived and started harassing us, aggressively trying to push us away. When I asked security for help, the guard himself threw me out with force, ignoring the fact that my bag and jacket were still inside. Rude, arrogant behavior. Absolutely unacceptable — I would never recommend this place.
Галина Т — Google review
A disgusting place, weird atmosphere with creepy people. We got pushed by some old dudes twice and when I tried to react I got threatened by another weirdo, which I'm guessing was its bodyguard. On top of that security seemed very friendly with these bullies ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Oh and the smell. Don't get me started with the smell.
William D — Google review
The place itself is nice but the crowd is quite drunk hence not fun to be around. Bodyguards are aggressive for no reason (I was dancing near the emergency exit and to tell me I had to leave space they punched me and my friend away instead of just saying it)

I asked the Coat room personnel to place my boot covers in my backpack and showed them my ticket. They said "no problem" and pretended like they were doing so . When I later came to get my stuff and go home, they couldn't find them and didn't want to look. They told me to call the next day. They never answer the phone....

If you're looking to kick off your night in a vibrant and inclusive atmosphere, GBAR is the place to be! Nestled on Skolegade, this lively bar is adorned with colorful rainbow flags that beckon all who pass by. While it primarily serves the LGBTQ+ community, everyone is welcome to join in on the fun. Known for its electrifying theme parties and an inviting dance floor, GBAR promises unforgettable nights filled with great cocktails and fantastic music.
I had so much fun going there and the dance floor is VERY alive (best one in Aarhus in my opinion), and staff is friendly, and assisted well when I lost my jacket there. Def. favourite queer spot in Aarhus.
Livi Y — Google review
Not a gay club. 75% are straight couples. 100DKK for closet and average 60DKK/drink. 5x5m dance floor downstairs and some seating. Upstairs seats maybe 30 people just chatting. Be aware that it’s tiny and pretty much a straight club. False advertisement
Matt A — Google review
90% young straight girls who are drunk and have no feeling of personal space. 5% straight guys who wait for those drunk girls. As a gay man I don’t feel comfortable here. How about you start some „men only“ nights? This way it’s a GBAR. But not this.

Amazing place, i grew up on manchesters gay village in the uk and I feel that same energy from my city in this club. I'll definitely be returning!

went for my birthday. very hot inside. i took my shirt off and kept dancing strongly. a girl touched me complaining for my being shirtless. i kept having fun (how entitled to ruin others' fun). then the big boys came up to me with a torch, pointed at my chest, i asked "WHAT?" under the music and they held my wrist behing my back like an arrest; i was asking why: "because i was shirtless?"; i then rewore it, they kept pushing me out; a second gladiator came to me, about 200 kg and 370cm together, wide chest, strong pushing (i'm half one of them), kept pushing me out in front of my friend. if you're a masculine man, don't take off your shirt there, even if you're melting, cuz some unwritten rule brings the big boys to you to gently bringing you out, LOL. also why callint gbar (from Gaybar) if mostly straight couples go there? whatever, i had fun but i'm not going back. very safe place, i was the only one actually dancing, the others were barely moving

It started like an amazing night, it ended as a nightmare. The security guards were a bit aggressive and overbearing. Things took a turn for the worse when they called the police and we were "searched" because of a misunderstanding involving a empty beer bottle that a friend had accidentally placed a piece of chewing gum in, mistakenly thought to be drugs.

Arguably one of the worst experiences my friends and I ever had at a club if you could even call it that. The DJ was playing a boring mix of top 40s on top of a repetitive house track to a cramped dance floor at the end long bar ran by two very overworked bartenders. The club was mainly full of drunk men who accosted anybody they made eye contact with and would follow people around while fights broke out on the dance floor regularly. Nobody came to stop it besides other drunk patrons since management preferred to cut corners that night and have the place negligently understaffed. Once we couldn't stand one more minute we went to collect our coats and bags and were forced to wait over thirty minutes as only one employee was present to both sell tickets and manage the cloak room. Up to this point I would have let this all slide as most of the staff were actually very helpful and friendly, not meriting such a harsh review but then we were forced to spend more than enough time around the bouncer. From the moment we walked in he was shouting at patrons and laying hands on people without warning or provocation. While we were waiting to pick up our coats and trying to see which line to get in he pushed me against the wall instead of simply asking me to step aside. After that he would regularly storm pass and shout at the single employee both trying to sell tickets and return coats bags, imploring her to just let everyone enter before dealing with the growing line of people just waiting to hand in their tickets and leave, and did absolutely nothing to make any of us feel safe. Not sure if this was a very off night for Paradis or this is how it always is but either way I would never recommend it to someone looking to have a fun and safe night out dancing.

The Greenhouses in the Botanical Garden of Aarhus offer a unique experience, featuring plants from around the world within four distinct climate zones. The garden also provides outdoor areas such as heath and beach landscapes for relaxation.
The wife and I visited when we went to Denmark recently. It was great. Free of charge, a lot to see, a lovely cafe and a good souvenir shop.

We visited Aarhus for the day while on a cruise, and the Botanical Gardens and Tropical Houses quickly became one of my absolute favourite stops. Nestled right in the city, this beautiful green space offers a peaceful escape and a surprising amount to explore—all for free, which I really appreciated! The gardens themselves are lovely to stroll through, showcasing native Danish plants and thoughtfully designed landscapes. But the real highlight for me was the Tropical Houses. The glass domes are like stepping into a different world—lush, warm, and full of life. Inside, you’re surrounded by towering palms, vibrant flowers, waterfalls, and even butterflies fluttering freely through the air. As a houseplant lover, I was blown away by the size and health of many familiar plants I grow at home—jade plants, umbrella plants, bird of paradise, banana plants, philodendrons, and so many more. They looked like they were on steroids compared to my little potted versions! It was amazing to see them in this thriving, naturalistic environment. Whether you’re into plants, photography, or just want a relaxing place to explore, this spot is a must-visit in Aarhus. It’s a perfect mix of nature, education, and tranquility, right in the middle of the city. Don’t miss this gem—especially if you’re visiting Aarhus on a short stop like we were. I’d go back in a heartbeat!

Marselisborg Deer Park is a 22-hectare nature preserve and zoo located south of Aarhus city. It features free-ranging wild boar and deer, including sika and fallow deer. The park is adjacent to the Marselisborg Forests, offering a peaceful retreat among flora, fauna, and wildlife. Visitors can explore the surrounding gardens and parklands of the impressive Marselisborg Palace, which has been the summer residence of Danish royalty since 1902.
Free entry, cute deers, but you can’t feed them because it’s forbidden. Near the park is a beach with the famous “Infinite Bridge” which is open from may to october so i could not see it. In rest it’s calming and beautiful!

Simply stunning! We loved it here and spent most of our day with these beautiful animals. When you arrive, take your time, be smooth with movements. Go to back of park up the hill by the water, snap some branches at the back and watch how many deer you have right next to you eating them. Makes for a super special visit

I didn’t see a single deer when I went to the deer park in Ireland, but this time in Denmark? Around 30 deers right in front of me. What beautiful creatures! Someone on the internet says you can feed them and I got there all excited with my carrots then saw the no feeding sign :( anyways the deers are so cute! Park has wc. And the park is close to the infinite bridge.

Marselisborg Deer Park is a wonderful place to spend time in Aarhus! 🦌✨ The highlight is definitely the deer — they roam freely all around the park, which makes the experience feel magical and close to nature. There are plenty of seating areas scattered across the park, so it’s easy to find a nice spot to relax, have a picnic, or just enjoy the peaceful surroundings. The park is big, green, and very well maintained, making it enjoyable for both short walks and longer visits. Parking is never a problem since there are many spaces available, and the entrance is completely free, which makes it perfect for families, couples, or anyone looking to enjoy a calm day outdoors. Highly recommended if you’re visiting Aarhus! 🌳🌞
Ahmed A — Google review
A great experience, you see the deer so close up. They literally walk past you. Signs say you cannot feed them despite people saying otherwise online. They can get scared if you get too close or make too much noise.
Rob — Google review
Went here three years ago, at that time it was allowed to feed the deers carrots and apples if you brought them with you. So this year when we came back with the goods we were surprised to see that it's not allowed anymore to feed the deers. I must say I can see why, three years ago we had walks for hours there and maybe saw two other people the whole time we were there and now it's pretty busy! Some deers will still come to you for a little pet on the head and they were very curious to see our little baby which was very cute. But we were not as popular as the last time without the carrots of course. We went there two days in a row, the first day was a public holiday in Denmark and I would not recommend visiting at the time of a holiday. It's way too busy to enjoy the park. The second day it was rainy at first but as soon the sun was shining it was getting crowded. Go in the early mornings or in the late afternoon to avoid that and really enjoy the park. Nonetheless, this park is beautiful. You have some beautiful spots where you can see the deers in the distance in there somewhat "natural habitat". With or without the deers this park is suitable for a beautiful walk with amazing views.

The atmosphere at this place spread out to the street that’s way we went in, it was hard to resist. We hadn’t booked and it was quite a lot of people but they made room for us. The place was just as nice on the inside as the outside suggested. A mix of European cafe and pub. What’s not to love. They hade great staff, I think they made the best of what they had in terms of time and space. The menu was comprehensive and quite nice. Just the right mix of food you know and love no matter where you are from and danish delights. It was all to reasonable prices. I would say that the food itself could have used some more love. The waiting period was a little longer then you would like it to be and when the children got there burgers and fries there, where their fries already cold. The burgers they got didn’t taste Mitch but was quite thick and hard for kids to eat. (Mine 9&7). For me I had a Stjærneskud a traditional danish, prawn, smoked Salomon and battered fish filet sandwich. It was nice absolutely and generous in size, but not a sensation in anyway. I had a white wine to that, took a Riesling and had the misfortune that it was a sweet Riesling and not a dry crisp, didn’t realise that was still something that is in fashion, but that is also I know a matter of taste. My husband had nachos with chicken and was pleased but not over the moon. So all and all. This is the kind of place I would love to give a higher rating. They have so much going for them, and I hope to come back again and see the progresses.

Situated below a bank, this small yet enriching space provides an educational outing that ranks high on the list of what to see in Arhus.
I loved this fairly small local museum. It has a lot of local history that really makes walking the streets of Århus meaningful and inspiring. Look for the sign in order to find this museum.
Dan M — Google review
Lovely but small (service) museum (1 hour of reading and exploring everything), but most lovely thing is it's actually located on exact excavation spot, describing life in viking settlement, especially local one. With locations of craftsman, ramparts and how the local dug houses looked (with one replica).
Václav S — Google review
Too small, no staff to help explain the place. Fully self guided. Mostly a satellite location for the moesgaard museum. The place is also quite dark, to protect some of the artifacts in the museum, so do take note if you are ever there. But generally you can give this place a miss. Most of the exhibits are in the pictures, so just save the money and buy yourself some souvenirs instead.
Kelvin T — Google review
This museum was great at separating fact from fiction. Vikings were primarily fishermen and farmers. Exploring came as a natural extension of looking for new fisheries and fresh agricultural lands and climate.
Kim H — Google review
The Viking Museum lives up to its name and then some. You will feel immersed in Viking lore walking through its halls, a large quantity of artifacts in here are in a truly impressive state of preservation. The bog bodies plus extensive captions make this a visit here an enriching anthropological experience.

Very small one room museum. Interesting info but not much to it. No guide or gift shop. Tickets are self purchased once you walk down the stairs but no one checks if you’ve bought one.

This place can be hard to miss as it's an anonymous door with a sign outside and the top is like a building site. Only stairs down to the room. It is more like a one room exhibition rather than an actual museum. Price was DKK30 but ticket machine was broken at the time so did not pay anything. A good initial setup but needs to be larger.

Beautiful smørrebrød with a good range to choose from. I would also say that the beer is a highlight, and the staff was so helpful in choosing the right ones for us! Definitely delicious, and the place has a lovely atmosphere that combines trendy and rustic. The portion sizes are very good. Best picks were the mushroom and potato smørrebrød, unfortunately i thought the egg one was just slightly lackluster in flavour, but definitely not bad! They were all very tasty.

Web site promotes and gives the impression this place is a hive of activity. We turned up and found very little happening, workshops closed, locked doors and the advertised Czech photography exhibition incredibly badly presented. View from the bleak roof was ok.

It’s different. At the top end it’s a nice experience. I didn’t go inside the building for performances but top was different and fun

A creative hub for so many awesome things. Highly recommended to visit, attend, get inspired and enjoy this space. Check their program online.

Wish there were 6 stars possible. Amazing inspirational art space. Walked in off the street and was screenprinting 10 minutes later. Friendly, affordable and great sense of community and the arts together. Something inherently wonderful in a municipality that supports the arts and publuc access to those experiences. Just incredible facilities and technicians.

This is such a cool area! If you‘re into street art, skateboarding or related things this place is definitely for you. I enjoyed looking at all the different styles of art as well as exploring the creative buildings around the area. There was also music playing and i just enjoyed the overall feeling of being there

'The Infinite Bridge' in Aarhus, also known as Den Uendelige Bro, offers a serene and intimate experience with its circular wooden pier that extends into the sea. Visitors can enjoy breathtaking seaside views and a sense of solitude while taking a leisurely stroll along the bridge. Originally part of the Sculpture by the Sea festival in 2015, this art installation became so beloved by the locals that it was reconstructed as a permanent fixture.
Cool and something different. The deer park around the corner was awesome and a short walk we stumbled on this bridge and beach. Really lovely place and worth a walk!

This is an ideal destination for families seeking a refreshing aquatic adventure. It's a vibrant community hub where laughter echoes as parents and children splash in clear waters, creating unforgettable memories. This safe, welcoming locale offers a delightful escape, promising hours of joyous interaction and playful splashing for all ages.
Chang-Chih S — Google review
We were visiting Aarhus for the day on a cruise, and The Infinite Bridge was high on our must-see list—and it absolutely lived up to the hype! Getting there took some effort: we waited quite a while for the bus and then had to walk over a kilometre from the stop. But once we arrived, the setting made it all worth it. The bridge is located close to Marselisborg Castle (which we also loved), so it makes for a great double stop if you’re exploring the area. The bridge itself is such a cool and unique piece of architecture—a perfect wooden circle stretching out over the water in Aarhus Bay, offering 360° views of the coastline, city, and surrounding forest. It’s peaceful, beautiful, and really makes for some incredible photos. One surprising thing we learned is that it’s only up seasonally, assembled each spring and taken down in the fall—so if you’re visiting outside those months, it might not be there! Despite the bit of a trek, it ended up being one of our favorite stops in Aarhus, and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys nature, architecture, or just a scenic place to relax by the water.
Celine L — Google review
Beautiful. Wonderful. Take the Bus from the City Center, find the Bridge either along the shore or after a stroll through the nearby forest. A fantastic sight from the Bridge!
Barbara F — Google review
We loved the simplicity of this bridge. People brought their coffee or snacks down to the bridge and sat on the edge looking out over the water. It was very peaceful
Susan N — Google review
I went there twice during my stay and it is a must if you’re discovering the area. Very peaceful, you can sit anywhere you like. A bit less pleasant where there is a lot of people on the bridge thought. Bring your swimsuit!

Inifinity bridge located at 3 km from Aahrus city centre… by walk or car is fine Beautiful circular bridge - need to be careful as it’s windy and no side support Lovely natural clean water and can get wet .. you can relax your day at this location Free entry Parking available

Løve's Bog- og Vincafé is both a bookstore and a café in the city of Aarhus. The café attracts both locals and visitors with its relaxed atmosphere, great selection of wine, and variety of programming. The bookstore hosts literary events alongside concerts, lectures, and poetry readings.

Been curious about this place. We went for drinks, the snack platter and the tapas platter. All super tasty, fresh, so much food and well priced. The young guy working there was very friendly. Nice relaxed place.

The vibe is so comfortable. The coffee is not the best but overall it’s a very good place to chill for a while with your book.
Max C — Google review
This is fantastic cozy cafe which serves a very great choice of beverages, and the very best homemade bread. My favorit place for morning coffee when in Århus.
Ken J — Google review
I have come here occationally for many years. The atmosphere is always cozy and I definitely much prefer to read here than reading at DOKK1 or other modern libraries. They also stay open longer. I am usually more hyped by books I find in Faktum or secondhand stores, but the good thing is if you can't find a book you want to read then there is also a second hand store on the other side of the road. I also like their sandwiches, although after having tried the same time too many times I feel the need for a bit more variation. Great place to bring friends or to go alone to read/write.
Simon G — Google review
The café is in two sections, the book store in the front and the wine room in the back. Very distinct atmospheres, both really nice though. A great place to read a book or hang out with a friend or two. Ordered the "sausage and cheese for two", which comes with a bottle of red or white wine. Very nice selection of meat and cheese. One thing you should be aware of though, buying two sausage and cheese plates and a bottle of wine seems to be cheaper than buying the set. That's not very nice and does subtract from the experience. Response to response: the wine we got was priced at 149, so 90+90+149=329. I understand that may have been a mistake by the staff.
Henrik S — Google review
We were four people having Tapas Plates, and they were actually fine, but served with the words - i´m sorry, but we have no more bread than this - and we had less than one person eat in 5 minutes. After this we never saw the server again. Nice place Fine house wine (we had white) OK servings except from bread. - but due to that we went on to a street food to get full 😏 (both boys and girls)

The wine bar Vincaféen is a great place to relax with a glass of wine and some delicious food. The staff are knowledgeable about the wines, so you can trust them to help you choose the right one for your taste. There are often events taking place here, such as poetry readings, musical performances, book clubs, and talks by esteemed Danish authors.
Cozy place, very good vines. Definitely recommended
Dóra S — Google review
Incredible wine selection by the glass and lovely setting. But reducing my score because I was surprised the server didn’t offer a taste of the wine before pouring (as you often get in other wine bars), it meant that I ended up having a wine on his recommendation which I didn’t like very much. Also the red wine was served too cold :(
Alaina D — Google review
Not the best place in Århus. Food is so so. We were a small party and had bottles put on the table and the waiter kept opening new bottles so the price wasn’t as expected.

(Translated by Google) If you are going to Aarhus, you must visit the wine cafe. This is the second time I have been there and the second time I had a fantastic experience. Our wine cafe has a huge selection of wines, they write over 400 wines themselves, so there is plenty to choose from. We ordered their Tapas board for 2 and there is plenty of food 😊 Their staff has an incredibly great knowledge of their wines, the second time I am also impressed by this. Do not take the car there, the Wine cafe is located in the Aarhus Latin Quarter, it is difficult to find parking, and in Aarhus you pay a fee every day of the week between 8-23.

Bar
Cafe
Fairbar in Aarhus stands out as a unique non-profit bar run by volunteers, with proceeds supporting charitable projects in countries like Myanmar and India. It offers a diverse range of craft beers on tap and in bottles, making it more than just a craft beer bar but also a neighborhood spot. The venue hosts cultural events, open-mics, concerts, flea markets, film screenings, workshops and even offers opportunities for volunteering to improve barista skills.
Lovely place. Great atmosphere. Tasty nachos, friendly staff and had a great time at an improv night there. The staff continue to impress with every visit. If you are unsure which of the many many beers they have on offer they are happy to give you a wee taste before you commit to a whole one. Most bars don't offer this service and this elevates the fairbar way above other bars I have visited.

Love the concept! A chill place where people can come to meet up and hang out. I haven't tried any food or drink but the staff were friendly and the board games available, fun. So awesome to have a connecting space. They have plenty of seating areas and clean toilets. There is a little stage and piano.

Poor atmosphere, bad light, no vibes, difficult to find in dark or via Google maps, tasted 3 beers, 2 of them fake and sweet. IPA acceptable not the b best.
Pier P — Google review
An awesome space to have a few exciting specialty beers. I recomend the “small” beers to ensure that a larger selection of different beers can be sampled and enjoyed!
Karsten P — Google review
Interesting beer menu, but not all the beer in good condition. The place welcomes everyone, and you feel right at home. Decor and ambience doesn't really signal beer bar though, it's almost more like a school cafeteria.
Christian S — Google review
Great beers (10 on tap), not the best acoustics and slow service from the bar, but then again the place is run by volunteers. The prices are really good, and you even get an extra tiny beer during the happy hours. There is also a pretty good selection of board games. It is not a very big place and i would not recommend it for large groups.

Bryggeriet Sct. Clemens, located at Kannikegade 10-12, is a unique combination of a brewery and a public house offering freshly tapped draft beer brewed in copper kettles on-site. The bar also serves mouth-watering spare ribs and a variety of dishes from casual sandwiches to fancier fish options. During the summer, guests can enjoy outdoor seating. The location provides a quiet and pleasant atmosphere for dining or enjoying drinks with friends or family.
One of my favorites in town! Its wide menu admits both formal and minformal meals, with good brasserie and fish dishes. One of the best bbq ribs in Aarhus! Excellent house brewed beers. Warm eating space, taking big groups without problem. Children welcome.
J. G — Google review
We had a very tasty meal. Since our last visit, many years ago, they no longer brew their own beer which is a pity. Otherwise absolutely nothing to complain about.
Frank P — Google review
This was a wonderful place to have lunch, especially since we sat at one of their outside tables. The weather was great, temps in the high 70s, sunny, and breezy. The location is across from the threatre on a street that does not get much traffic. So it is quiet. If you want to talk with your partner, then it is ideal. The lunch menu included a club sandwich, which hit the spot after an afternoon of walking. And their pilsner is very tasty. Service was quite good, never having to wait for anything. I recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting a bit to eat and microbrew beer. Cheers!

(Translated by Google) Extremely good meat. Supplements Medium. Starters (caviar and salmon) were very good. Staff very attentive and very friendly. Toilets not at ground level, only accessible via stairs. Prices are high, but the ambience, the service and especially the meat justify it. There is also home-brewed beer, but for unknown reasons it isn't even on the menu. The beer was also tasty. (Original) Extrem gutes Fleisch. Beilagen Mittel.

(Translated by Google) Was for the first and last time at Bryggeriet. We had pre-booked a table, but despite the fact that there were 2 waiters, we were not even looked at, the next couple who came in were greeted with hi and dav and now I will show you a table, we were still waiting. After some time we asked to be shown our table, after calling the waiter from the basement we got a seat. Then we ordered a starter which was really good, then came the main course, veal steak, one was approx. 1/4 part cartilage and otherwise as tough as sole leather, the price was certainly not commensurate with the food, and neither was the service, not once was anyone approached before we had to pay -------960 DKK for 2 pers. The toilets were very worn, so they probably need a renovation, no soap in the men's toilet and the hand dryer didn't work. A slightly positive thing was that there were tea towels hanging at the tables, so you could at least dry your fingers after going to the toilet. We drew attention to the condition of the beef, well, the waiter would then say that --- and what can we use it for? a discount on the price please (Original) Var for første og sidste gang på Bryggeriet .

(Translated by Google) Okay meat, I think it was very expensive and not very much food for the money. The brewery, you can no longer call it, as they no longer brew their own beer, but have it imported from Copenhagen. The beer is fine, but two beers to choose from at a "brewery" is not great.

Nestled in the heart of Aarhus, Hotel Oasia Aarhus is a chic retreat that beautifully embodies Danish hygge. Just a short stroll from the railway station and vibrant city life, this hotel features modern rooms adorned with Scandinavian-style designer furniture, including Swedish Hastens beds and pieces by renowned designers like Montana and Poul Kjaerholm. Guests can indulge in a delightful organic breakfast buffet each morning while enjoying the serene atmosphere of the terrace bar.
Rooms are nice and spacious, beds are comfortable and breakfast was good! Breakfast options are not huge but all freshly (home)made and good. Coffee could be better. Location wise also good, lots of restaurants within walking distance. Good value for money option

A great place to stay when visiting the city. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars is the shower curtains can be annoying for me personally, so I will ask if they have a room with a shower door next time. The shower is fine otherwise. Staff is friendly and helpful, and parking is limited at the hotel but street and garage parking are always available and right out of the doors.
Mark A — Google review
Only positives for me: breakfast is amazing, bed was comfortable, reception staff is nice. But the shower curtains stink terribly - a sign of not being washed for a while. The rooms are tiny for the price paid. And there was a filthy spot (see picture) on the duvet cover - another sign of negligent maintenance. The walls and floor had marks. But the reception staff was very nice and helpful.
Prajakt ( — Google review
Nice looking and well decorated hotel! Rooms are small but okay enough for a short stay. Only downside was the smelly showercurtain. The breakfast was very good, enough options and great quality. Service and check in were good, attentive people. There's a few parking spots in the courtyard, but you have to order beforehand. Very close to the station and amazing location overall to visit Aarhus by foot or bike.

A confortable stay at the beginning of 2025! Kind staff, elegant common areas, high quality breakfast with several choices. Well located close to the city centre. Car parking available in the hotel surroundings.
Fabrizio M — Google review
We spent 2 pleasant nights at Hotel Oasia. We were in room 8016 which was very sleek and comfortable with a nice bathroom. Giving 4 stars for location as this room (which we requested) is facing the train tracks. The hotel has multiple buildings so train tracks may not be a problem in another room. Overall, excellent stay and would highly recommend Hotel Oasia for your stay in Aarhaus.
Danielle C — Google review
Very good location within walking distance of the city center. Inviting and cozy lounge area on the first floor with free hot drinks. Fitness room available. However, some coffee cups not thoroughly washed. Breakfast offer was good. Between 8am and 8:30am the breakfast room was hopelessly overcrowded. Very well made and very hygienic, almost all dishes are portioned in preserving jars, which is also more environmentally friendly. Own parking spaces in the courtyard and in the nearby parking garage. In the parking garage you get a discounted price for one night, which here means 32 hours, but unfortunately the reception staff did not know this. Therefore unnecessary paid several hours for parking on the street. Our standard double room was extremely tiny, especially in the bathroom you could hardly turn around. Shower cubicle very narrow, when sitting on the loo the sink hung in your face. The room was also worn and unclean. After complaining, we were given a new room for the following night and chocolates as an apology. The new room was more spacious, but the mattresses were worn out and the neighbors made a lot of noise because the walls are so hard to hear.

Cosy restaurant. Great service and super delicious food. Lamb meatballs are full of flavour. Georgian dumplings are the best we have had. The madeleines are right from the oven! Delicious! Very impressed and highly recommend.

Interesting local, multicultural, fusion restaurant with exemplary dishes from various cuisines and countries around the world - Georgian dunpling, Persian vegetable dish, Danish, ... - using apparently local ingredients. The service was courteous and informative. Their ambiance was lively and vibrant with interesting decor. Some dishes were good (pork especially), and some were a bit strong for me (Georgian dumpling and pickled vegetables).

Bardok is very much a, get in the spirit of the restaurant kinda place. The wine list is fanciful, the vodka list adventurous. The food and descriptions capture the same spirit." fat, sour fish, very vodka friendly" is just one dish.. which sums the place up. Book a babysitter, enjoy the fantastic dumplings, the homemade pickles ( which pairs perfectly with the bountiful vodka) and a glass of not so mainstream wine.
