Piano bar
Taco Way is a popular spot in Tarifa known for its fantastic cocktails and vibrant atmosphere. The menu offers a wide variety of creative cocktails at great prices, including mango and strawberry mojitos, caipirissima, gin granita, and strawberry ice cream daiquiri. The bar has a Mexican restaurant meets chiringuito-chic style and stays open until 2am. Happy hour from 8pm to 11pm offers cocktails at a bargain price.
Great happy hour where u can get the cheapest drinks in all of tarifa yeppppp

If you want to have a drink before dinner or after dinner. This is the right place. Happy hour 2x1 everyday. Open till late. Good rates!!
Miki S — Google review
Went in for a quick pre dinner cocktail and wow, the fastest i’ve ever seen anyone prepare a mojito! And.. it tasted great. Make sure to leave a tip, as the barman then shouts about it at the top of his voice and starts smacking the lampshades and making a racket.
Star S — Google review
Hola! This was my first time at Taco Way and it was kind of a disappointment. I got there with about 10 minutes left before the end of happy hour and when I asked for the happy hour menu the bartender said “you have two minutes”. That same bartender was arguing with his coworker for 2 minutes and it was loud and unnecessary. He sloppily made the margarita and it wasn’t good. Not sure why the name of the place is taco way when they don’t sell tacos!? It’s kind of small on the inside and the music is okay but not great. The nachos, which is the only food they serve, did not look great so I didn’t order any. The highlights are that the decorations and theme look nice, they have darts, and a foosball table. I finished that one drink and left. Maybe I went on an off Saturday night but I would not go back to this bar. I only recommend if you’re looking to get cheap drinks during happy hour.

Catholic church
Parish
The Iglesia de San Mateo Apóstol, located in the heart of Tarifa's old town, is a historic Catholic church with a rich past. Built in the 16th century on the site of an ancient mosque, it boasts an impressive Baroque facade added in the late 1770s. Inside, visitors can admire treasures such as a tombstone from the Visigothic era and cedarwood sculptures by a renowned 17th-century artist known as 'The God of Wood.'
I was definitely impressed to find this masterpiece at the end of the world
U-Laz — Google review
Very old and crude church full of memories. Open most of the time.
Mariusz — Google review
It definitely is NOT open 24 hours. I went on Sunday at 12:25 and found that a Mass was happening. I tried to come back at 1:45pm only to find the doors closed and locked. A paper inside the church indicates the hours of Mass, but nothing tells you when the building in open for tourists.
Christopher B — Google review
A very pleasant and welcoming cathedral in the center of the old town of Tarifa. Quiet, cool in summer (which was very comfortable) The originally decorated ceiling surprised me with interweaving of patterns. Come here early in the morning if you want to catch it like in the photo. I hope it brings joy to the locals as well!
Fiodor K — Google review
It is a lovely church with some beautiful stain glass windows and rather minimalistic for catholic iglesia interior. Its shabby chic outdoor look is charming and adds to the old town’s main street atmosphere
Laila M — Google review
Says on Google open 24 hours. Unfortunately it’s not, we were asked to leave. But the sneaky peek inside we had was beautiful.

Tapas bar

El Lola - Bar de Tapas y Flamenco is a cozy and popular spot in Tarifa, known for its intimate interior and spacious terrace where locals gather to enjoy classic tapas, wine, and live flamenco music.
Lola a must visit during your stay at Tarifa. It can be really busy, but its worth it. The atmosphere is fantastic. Service great! Good with kids. Food above standards. A good Rioja for 3 euro a glas, just perfect! Overal we enjoyed our last evening on the terrace. Take the tuna platter to share👌and the jamon croquetas👍
Plukker — Google review
I couldn't recommend El Lola more.. this was our most memorable meal during our 10 day trip to Spain. We had the spicy tuna tartar, goat cheese, chicken meatballs, and pistachio cream dessert. All were delicious but I'd travel back to Tarifa just to have the tuna tartar again. The meat was so fresh, not a fatty piece in it, and such a generous portion. On top of the food, the wine, service, and atmosphere as we sat outside were all top notch.
Michael H — Google review
A very nice restaurant with delicious food and well-sized portions. The staff was attentive and friendly throughout our visit. However, it was quite crowded, and we ended up at a less comfortable table with bar stools and an uneven surface, which took away a bit from the dining experience. In my opinion, the prices are a little too high for what you actually get – still good, but not fully matching the cost.
AnotherPerspective — Google review
Great atmosphere, food good, we had various half plates, which were delicious and substantial, the calamari sliders were delish, as was the boquerones on toast, followed by the Iberian ‘Lagato’ which had the most amazing chargrilled flavor. Service was sketchy as they were sooo busy but everyone was very polite. They don’t take reservations, so get there between 7:30-8pm if you don’t want to queue for an hour or more. Very much worth a visit!
Dub — Google review
10/10, one of the best meals I’ve ever had in the world - not an understatement! As someone that loves food and eating out this restaurant blew me away. The things they did with the Atún rojo have to be experienced if you’re in Tarifa, went for lunch and had to go back for dinner to try the food again. HIGHLY recommend.
Charles D — Google review
5 stars — Waiting 90 minutes was absolutely worth it. The croquetas, the little hamburguesitas, and the revuelto de patata con jamón ibérico were all outstanding. Every bite felt special, full of flavor and made with care. Truly magical tapas worth the wait.
Marco — Google review
LOLA in Tarifa is an absolute must! The food is out of this world – from the house signature Frito Lola to the spicy tuna tartare (whaaaat a mezl 🤩) every bite is delicious. The atmosphere is full of flamenco-style charm and energy. Just remember, it’s first come, first serve, so get there a little early. Totally worth it!
Ghizlane B — Google review
This place is super popular and way too busy. There are equally good choices nearby. As such, the atmosphere with the street full of waiting patrons continually staring at you is a tad annoying. We arrived at 8 and waited 5min. Those that arrived at 8:30 waited till 9:30 to be seated. The highlight is the service. Super fast, not one set waiter for your table, ultra-attentive, and fun/friendly. Food is excellent, but it is also excellent in the mutliple adjacent restaurants. El Lola specializes in tuna; also meat and veggie offerings. Anything heated/cooked is very salty, thus the flavor. The rare tuna was great - no salt but good balance of olive oil and garlic. Photos are of the Tataki Tuna and the Presa Iberica de Bellota. I do not recommend the presa.

Tapas bar
Misiana Tapas Bar is a trendy spot located on the ground floor of the legendary Misiana Hotel in Tarifa, Spain. The bar offers a modern and vibrant atmosphere, making it a great place to enjoy some delicious tapas and drinks. The menu is available online through a QR code, featuring options like Russian salad, chicken in creamy mushroom sauce, tuna tataki, and croquetas. While the food quality is good, it's recommended to make reservations during peak seasons.
Classics of Spanish cuisine mixed with a good atmosphere and the staff is really nice. A place frequented mostly by tourist but still had a great time !

Lovely place with a cozy Spanish vibe and delicious food. Definitely worth a try — it’s one of my favourite spots in Tarifa.
Toubi S — Google review
I was surprised at the prices when we got there, but when our food arrived, I realized the quality was completely worth it 😍 10/10 would recommend
Patrice T — Google review
Nice place for modern tapas and a good variety on the menu but prices are a bit higher than average.
Krista P — Google review
Food quality is fine, for 30€ each (5) we have had few starters and a main plate per person. The service was fine and the restaurant design looks quite good. Best food options were tuna tataki and croquetas. Better to book in advance during peak season.
Ricard C — Google review
After arriving at my hotel in mid-February 2023, I looked for a place to eat. In the winter, only a few restaurants and bars in Tarifa, Spain are open. Fortunately I discovered the Misiana Tapas Bar inside the Misiana Hotel, on the ground floor. I really wanted a Margarita so I ordered one while looking at the menu, which is only available online after scanning a QR image. There are apparently no printed menus. i ordered a Russian salad for an appetizer and chicken in a creamy mushroom sauce. Both were delicious and the bread was fresh and good, even if no butter was provided. The bread would be much better if served warm. There was only a paper napkin, and no table cloth, and I had to ask for salt for the hot, crispy and slightly spicy French fries. Inside was fairly full with people and attractive, but it was little too noisy for my taste. I enjoyed my drink and meal here. Cash and credit cards are accepted. And the restaurant and bar are open late.
Kenneth M — Google review
Beautiful bar so cool great welcoming staff best service we have had all week brilliant 👏 downside not the best food sorry to say the salad was poor 3 bits of tiny chicken, potato bravas wow just French fries with mayo and spice 😢 was hoping for better. Would I go back to eat again...no but highly recommended for drinks great bar great staff poor chef 👨‍🍳 😢

In the vibrant town of Tarifa in Southern Spain, the nightlife kicks off late into the night. Before hitting the bars for drinks, popular spots like Surf Bar Tomatito and Venice Cocktail Bar are perfect for pre-drinks and socializing. Along the path to Tarifa Island lies El Chiringuito, a beachside gem offering stunning views of the Strait of Gibraltar and its two seas. The restaurant seamlessly blends with its surroundings with white walls and large windows.
I really don't know how anyone can give this place a low rating, I haven't had much pleasure in much more expensive places. The food was magnificent!!!! The beer is great, for the music, the atmosphere ( the view of the waves, the sun, the lighthouse, the ferries, the wind) is an orgasm. Thank you for making our day wonderful!
Rumyana L — Google review
A wonderful place with good food, pleasant music, and a stunning view of the sea and the fortress. If you sit on the terrace, a gentle breeze will create an extra comfortable atmosphere. I highly recommend this place — it’s both delicious and beautiful
Svetlana G — Google review
Location is great. Perfect to chill and relax. Toilets are clean. Service is ok (was there during siesta time and they were open so probably should value that more).
Helena K — Google review
Fabulous ! I had the most enjoyable time . This chiringuito is the best I have ever been to in Spain. It is right on the beach & it is white & light. We chose to sit inside because we didn't bring little jackets as it was a little breezy on the terrace. Inside was comfortable & perfect. We were served by Jose or Juan ( sorry I can't remember ) professional & very friendly waiter. The food & the wine were superb. The sunset was amazing . I have the most memorable evening. If I go to Tarifa again I will definitely return to ' El Chiriguito ' loungebeach in Tarifa. Reda

Not a fan of seafood but was huge with lots of clams and squid rings ect... The sangria was lush and the service was great once we got to no the staff a lil.

El Chiringuito Lounge Beach - Great spot to watch the Kite Surfer. The best seafood (including an excellent wine card) in Tarifa. Received super service. Not the cheapest place in town, but value for money. We enjoyed the view on the Kite Surfers. The atmosphere is quite relaxing and you have a great view. You can see that this location doesn’t need to fight for customers but overall is fine to relax and enjoy yourself. Clean, tidy and has a very special athmosphere. The seafood is the dominant on the menu (80-85 %), but few other meet or vegie dishes were found on it too.
Remis V — Google review
Enjoyed a fabulous dinner on the beach with astounding views of the sunset. We went the first night just for sangria and sunset. Then went back the following night for sit down dinner. Seafood was fresh and delicious. Lobster carpaccio and tuna tartar.... 😍💕 Would highly recommend when staying in Tarifa.
Trenna M — Google review
Beautifull spot, especially if there is a strong Levante wind. You can watch Kitesurfers doing amazing jumps & tricks. Furthermore you have a great view at the island. The food is great, but more expensive than the restaurants down town. The menu is great though, especially if you like fish & seafood. The paella tastes very good. We had the Tuna Tartar, we loved it. Good choices of wines. Location superb.

We were in Tarif for a few hours. Stopped here for some late breakfast. Super cute setting, relax and very friendly. The food was good
A K — Google review
It was very very disappointing. I have been there few times before and it is not my favourite place. There are better spaces in Tarifa. I was there over the weekend with friends and we have ordered couple of cakes and drinks. I wanted coffee they told me they don't serve coffee. ( which I have had it ion my previous visit) Then 5 minutes past I have noticed table behind us was having a coffee. I ask other waiter why they say no coffee but serving coffee to other table? He told us he will ask and came back saying they have had a food therefore the coffee is only for people ordered food. ( Bit stupid). I wasn't satisfy with the answer. Then i saw them. serving coffee to other table also i ask again this is not really cool. They said they only work there and they don't make the rules. And I ask them to talk to manager or person in charge setting this rules is nonsense. Bottom line is; I did not care about coffee at this point but the stupidity they have set them self up to was really annoying. First thing; you re not a Micheline Star restaurant and u got bookings and ur place is full u need tables to be turn in specific time. Place has strange WC also. I wont be going there again, wont recommend it unless u like to get humiliated with ur own money.
Levent — Google review
The music here is great- fun, party vibes inside but you can also rent a lounger with an umbrella for just 20 euros for the whole day. The food was delicious! We ordered the seafood salad and Iberian hamburger. Wonderful food!!
Danielle S — Google review
Ridiculous that this place is called cafe del mar. The worst service ever. (Waiter prefers to smoke a cigarette instead of attending clients). Food is disgusting. Toilets are super dirty. Really disgusting and worst quality i saw in recent years.
Pascal M — Google review
Feels like the owners changed, I have been here a couple of times over the last years and really liked it. Now there’s always something annoying about this place. I went here once for a drink and we were not allowed to sit I the sofa area because we didn’t want to order food - we literally were the only guests.. Next time I come and they tell me they turned off the coffee machine at 4pm. This time I come, sit outside to have a coffee and later a call. I took my laptop checked the battery and the waitress (after ignoring me for 10min) comes and tell me, no hello or anything, with an angry face: „no laptops outside“. The place was half empty. Outside furniture is full of bird poop, birds are flying inside in the cafe. Music is too loud to have a call or work without noise cancelling headphones. A bit sad what happened to that cafe…

The Castillo de Guzman el Bueno is a legendary site that embodies valor and sacrifice. The ticket booth staff are helpful, and advance tickets may be necessary during peak season. Families can enjoy a sunny day learning history while taking in great views of the Atlantic, Mediterranean, and Tarifa city.

We visited this castle in Tarifa. It is located right next to the ferry port. There are lots to see in this historic place. We spent a little over an hour in the castle. It has great views of the sea and the city. There is an entrance fee. Pensioners and students have a discounted fee. The walk around the castle was relatively easy. There were a few narrow stairs to get to the upper levels and the towers. It is well maintained. All the public areas are clearly marked. It is well worth a visit.
Charlie — Google review
An excellent fortification steeped in history, well worth visiting and for a miniscule fee, €3. Some very good exhibits and wonderful views of Africa and the Straits of Gibraltar. This impressive, solidly-built Moorish fortification, which played an important part in early Spanish history, has been restored. As the southern-most point of the peninsula, Tarifa was an important strategic entry point into Spain and the rest of Europe for would-be invaders, so good defensive structures were essential. The Castle of Guzman El Bueno was originally built as an alcazar (Moorish fortress) in 960 AD on the orders of Caliph Abderraman III of Cordoba, to protect Tarifa against raids from Africa and the North (Vikings). The castle is now named after Alonso Perez de Guzman, who famously defending it from the Marinids (Moors) in the siege of 1294, when he sacrificed his son's life to save the town, and was given the title Duke of Medina Sidonia by the King (and named El Bueno, which means the Righteous rather than the Good) as a reward. Afterwards it was used as a garrison for Spanish troops over many centuries. Tarifa is the southernmost place in mainland Europe, next stop Africa. Located at the end of the Iberian Peninsula, it is primarily known as one of the world's most popular destinations for wind sports. Tarifa lies on the Costa de la Luz and across the Strait of Gibraltar facing Morocco.
Liam C — Google review
Well curated medieval fortress with a mix of architectural and artifact information, the Castillo de Guzman el Bueno is historical gem and such a deal for the €4 admission fee. The views of the city from the walls only add to the magic.
Sharon G — Google review
Great family experience in a sunny day in Tarifa. Our kids had the chance to learn a little bit of history while having fun at the same time. We were surprised when we got to the ticket booth that it was free because of the time we went. Great view of the Atlantic, Mediterranean and the city of Tarifa.
X K — Google review
Quite worth a visit on a clear day. You are let through the castle on a one-way tour with nice views on Tarifa and Africa. Some parts of the exhibition were a little dated and some of the modern ones like screens weren't working, but overall quite a lot to see for 4 €.
Ste B — Google review
Absolutely fascinating history and looking out on to the the town while taking in the history and it's settings really changed my view and gave me a whole different understanding of the beautiful town as I was looking out from the views of the beautiful town from inside the Castillo. It's one thing to walk around the court yard and Almedina, but it's completely different once you can view it from above and appreciate it's position and function as part of the fortress.

The people who work in the pub...terrible, the girl with the curls has charged us every time we have gone to order drinks at a different price (we have always ordered the same), poor quality alcohol and practically non-existent ice. A shame and not to return again. Apart from the heat that was inside without any type of ventilation and the bathrooms that were clogged from the first hour. Tapas bar
Bar El Frances is a renowned establishment in Tarifa, known for its Andalusian classics with a modern twist. It's advisable to arrive early as they don't take reservations. The bar offers generous portions of dishes such as pigs cheeks in red wine sauce and spicy patatas bravas, which are said to be the best in Tarifa. Additionally, their tuna meatballs and rice with baby squid, prawns, and vegetables are highly recommended.
I loved the waiters here as they're fun and sassy, and it's different from other formal places. I knocked my glass of wine off the table and the waitress immediately told me no worries. She gave me another glass while she cleaned up. How nice was that! Food was good too and we enjoyed sharing them. It's a great night!

Bar El Francés was one of the highlights of our time in Tarifa. Yes, we had to wait a little to get a table (they don’t take reservations and there’s no phone or website), but trust me it’s 100% worth it. Everything we ordered was delicious, but the chicken couscous absolutely blew us away. Perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and totally unexpected from a tapas bar. Every dish was spot on. The vibe is relaxed, the staff is friendly and efficient, and the prices are more than fair for the quality. This place is a gem and we’ll definitely be back.

A wonderful spot with live music that creates a great atmosphere. The staff are extremely friendly and always happy to recommend what to drink. The food is absolutely first-class — everything we tried was delicious and beautifully presented. Highly recommended for a relaxing evening out.

An absolute revelation. The cuisine dazzles with bold, mouth-watering flavours that linger memorably, ensuring you'll be plotting your return before the meal is through. Complemented by a staff that is both impeccably professional and delightfully engaging—particularly with younger diners—the experience is flawless. It stands as a pinnacle of family dining, compelling enough to warrant an immediate revisit. A must-try.
Joel M — Google review
They were very nice and let me sit at the bar since I was by myself. I ordered the tuna meatballs (20/10), tuna montadito (ahumado) (15/10) and the chocolate mousse (6/10). I’ll be back for the eggplant with tomato and cheese which looked amazing. Everyone was very nice even though the restaurant was packed and they were very busy but it took them a while to bring the check and take my order even though I was at the bar. The music was great and the service had a really friendly and welcoming vibe. Would definitely recommend and I’ll be back.

If you are in Tarifa, there is no way you can miss this restaurant. Everything was amazing but if you want to taste something heavenly try the meat balls and the goat cheese mushrooms. We simply loved it and it worthed the wait.

Must go to place when in Tarifa, great atmosphere and staff is super friendly! The tuna tartare was absolutely delicious, a must try. Mussels gratin, artichoke, chorizo from hell, and the gnocchi were stunning. We didn’t speak much Spanish but were cared for extensively! You definitely should try it if you’re in the area Love from Canada

Absolutely unforgettable! From the moment we walked in, we were wrapped in warmth and hospitality that made us feel instantly at home. The staff radiated kindness and professionalism, elevating the entire experience to something truly special. We were so enchanted, we returned for a second visit—and it was just as magical. The seafood linguini? A masterpiece. Every bite was a celebration of flavor, easily the best I’ve ever tasted. And the tapas—oh, the tapas! Each dish was a delight, bursting with freshness and creativity that left us grinning from ear to ear. The ambience is pure elegance, with a cozy charm that invites you to linger and savor every moment. This isn’t just a restaurant—it’s a joyful memory in the making. This should definitely be on your list of places to eat and celebrate. Thank you to all the staff at La Burla for making us feel part of the family. Warmly, John & Monica

It is a little confusing when it is crowded, but I have to say that it is worthy the wait for a table, then for the plates, then for the check. We would come back again and we recommend the Flor de calabacín or the eggplant Parmesan. Both are really good.. at the end, the sympathy from the owner will captivate you

The team at La Burla is something special—friendly, attentive, and clearly passionate about what they do. We loved it so much, we came back a second time—and it was just as amazing. The seafood linguini? Hands down the best we’ve ever had. You could taste the quality of the ingredients in every bite—so fresh, so flavorful, just incredible. And the tapas? Each one was a little work of art, packed with creativity and bursting with taste. Honestly, we think La Burla has the best food in Tarifa. The care they put into every dish really shines through. The vibe was relaxed, cozy and a celebration of community and friendship. It was so much more than just a meal—it’s an experience you’ll remember. Huge thanks to everyone at La Burla for making us feel like part of the family. We’ll be singing your praises for a long time. Warmly, Monica & John

Some of the food is good, and some is unfortunately absolutely generic and tasteless. The tuna steak was delicious - the accompanying vegetables and potatoes only lukewarm. The tapas were unfortunately below average. The "vegetable lasagne" in particular was just a kind of mushy pile. The service was good. Unfortunately, the ambience was not outstanding.

Was highly recommended by our tour guide, so after going whale watching looks like the entire tour ended up here. With that the staff adjusted and divided and conquered. My hats to the staff that handled things like expeditiously and most important to the chef. We chose to eat tapas style and everything we ordered was superb. Meatballs, eggplant parmigiana, king prawn, pork cheek, stuffed pepper, croquetas and the ribs. Everything came out so good and fresh that we doubled back on a few items. If ever we are back in Tarifa, we have found our newest favorite spot for tapas.

While the bar room is small, there are also outside tables available for guests to enjoy their food.
Everything was amazing! The food, the service, the atmosphere. I would definitely recommend and come back. Best food I’ve had in Tarifa and the service was amazing. The cooked tuna, tomato and alioli tosta was amazing 10/10, the tuna meatballs 100/10, they were sooo good, you can’t miss them, and I wanted to try the eggplant with egg and payoyo (100/10) but it was too big so they did a 1/2 portion which was amazingly nice. Nestled along the stunning Playa de los Lances beach, Restaurante Demente Tarifa is a vibrant beach club that captures the essence of coastal life in Tarifa. This lively spot is perfect for families and young travelers alike, offering a welcoming atmosphere year-round. Start your day with a delightful breakfast while soaking in breathtaking sea views. The restaurant has gained popularity as one of the go-to chiringuitos on the coast, making it an essential stop during your visit.
Didn't eat here, as it was near sunset. Love this place on the beach. Visited many times while travelling across Europe on 2 Harleys. Its rocking, & the local people are lovely! Staff were great, seemed like we were the only Brits there so happy to party with our neighbours, happy holidays, respect as ever! See you again next year! S&Mx

Best bar at the beach of centre tarifa. During our holiday we visit several times. Really child friendly and happy service. Also perfect sunbeds at the beach and great iced cappuccino. All the food with tuna is good. Good vibes! Gracias amigo, see you next year🥳
Plukker — Google review
The location directly at the beach is phenomenal. The service - at least when I went there this afternoon - was predominantly terrible and not customer oriented. Here some more detailed thoughts on the venue. #1 interior Colourful, beachy, inviting. There’s even a dedicated DJ booth. The green plastic flowers hanging from the ceiling add more colour and vibe to the location. #2 service My Spanish is limited so I started ordering in English. One waiter asked the other if she spoke English. Her answer was yes but not very good. But the English one did not make an effort to start talking to me. In the days of smartphone and translators apps that not a problem. But my point being is the lack of effort to invest in the customer satisfaction. That’s why overall I rate 3 stars only. #3 coffee I had a cappuccino which they do with cacao and cinnamon pounder on the milk foam. That part of the cup I enjoyed. The coffee itself was made in a poor quality what I could witness from waiting for the coffee. And its taste was also poor and without any flavour just “supermarket coffee”.
Thilo B — Google review
I recently visited a beach bar with high hopes, given its prime location and stunning views. The sunset from this spot is truly breathtaking, offering an idyllic backdrop that's perfect for a relaxing evening. However, my experience was somewhat marred by a few issues. Firstly, the staff seemed rather unhappy to be there, which impacted the overall atmosphere. Their lack of enthusiasm was noticeable and detracted from what could have been a more enjoyable experience. I've given this place a try a few times, and unfortunately, the cocktails were consistently disappointing. They needed a lot of attention to detail, and frankly, I was unsure if they even contained any alcohol. On a positive note, I did have a tasty smoothie on one of my visits, which was a refreshing change. While the food looked delicious and well-presented on other tables, I didn't get the chance to try it myself. Given these issues, I am unlikely to return for drinks—unless I stick to beer or wine, which seem like safer bets. As for the cocktails, I definitely won’t be back for those. In summary, the beach bar offers a lovely view and beautiful sunsets, but the service and quality of cocktails leave much to be desired. If you're just looking for a place to enjoy the scenery with a beer or a glass of wine, it might be worth a visit. Otherwise, you might want to consider other options.

A truly beautiful beach bar on a long, dreamy beach. The staff is very friendly, the food delicious, and the music creates a relaxing atmosphere. We felt completely comfortable here and will definitely come back!
Petra D — Google review
The restaurant has a very nice atmosphere, and they have good, but quite pricey food. The service ruined our visit. The waiters bothered us every two minutes and asked if we want something else even though we hadn’t finished our drinks yet. They looked annoyed and they were unfriendly after we told them that we don’t want to order more stuff.
Gregor B — Google review
One of the famous beach chiringuitos restaurants in Tarifa. You need to understand that Tarifa has a life on its own, sometimes you need to make reservations ahead and sometimes you drop in and surprise there’s a free table. Service really depends on who is serving you in all of Tarifa, we were lucky we had a super friendly waiter but we also had a really angry waitress I know they spend thousands of hours working and it’s hard but still.. Food was either amazing or terrible nothing in the middle. The steak looked amazing and the croquetas. But the tuna looked like a kids plate, two eggs and small pieces of tuna with a couple wakame algae. I based my experience only on why we were there, a quick lunch before moving on. The views are amazing for sunset, the beach in front so if you’re planning to go here for tardeo, beers and just chill with friends then it’s a top spot to be.
Hello W — Google review
Service was awful, waitress was rude and unresponsive, food (aside from the tuna) was terrible. The burger was incredibly undercooked and unseasoned, the quesadilla was flavorless and soggy (impressive to be able to mess up a quesadilla), and the tacos were bland. Overpriced and a poor experience overall, skip this place for another spot.

I never in my life had so bad service. My friend an I passed by to have a coffee and we where simply ignored for 20min when we then went inside to order especially the one waitress was so rude to us. The place wasn’t busy at all neither was the service staff. Throughout the whole expierence of ordering, receiving the coffee and paying I felt uncomfortable and the waitress made me feel not welcome at all. I am going to many restaurants but never had ‘service’ like this….

Good to know, before you visit, that if you get there around 4-5pm (?) the kitchen might be closed. Staff sometimes friendly, sometimes busy and not so happy to help. Apart from that, we found decent cocktails (7-8€), cheap beer (large one 3,5€), great music, friendly people around and one of the BEST SPOTS to watch the sunset and the Atlantic Ocean.
Maria S — Google review
We just wanted a beer and to use the restroom. After being seated at the windiest table next to a screaming baby (not the restaurant’s fault), we waited 15 minutes without anyone even looking at us. The restroom was in poor condition, and after still not having our order taken, we decided to leave. Very disappointing — though at least the sea view was nice.

Probably the most overrated place in Tarifa. It’s a decent beach bar, but nothing remarkable, yet for some reason, it’s massively overhyped. On weekends, the bouncers act like they’re running Berghain, arbitrarily turning most people away with a lousy attitude. The restaurant staff are similarly rude and pretentious. I’d recommend heading to Waikiki, just 200 m down the beach. Essentially the same setup, but with friendly, welcoming staff.

Nature preserve
Parque Natural del Estrecho is a rustic natural park popular among windsurfers, offering miles of beaches and stunning views of Morocco. It is part of the Los Alcornocales natural park, featuring the only subtropical forest in mainland Europe, laurisilva. The area boasts pristine landscapes with diverse wildlife such as roe deer, wildcats, common genet, Griffon vultures, and Egyptian vultures.
Great views of the straits of Gibraltar and Africa.
Gurvir D — Google review
The Parque Natural del Estrecho affords legal protection to the narrow strip of land and several sierras that overlook the Straits of Gibraltar between Algeciras in the east and Zahara de los Atunes in the west. The Natural Park encompasses such ornithologically significant sites or areas as the Sierra de Plata, Los Lances beach, La Cazalla and the CIMA migration observation watchpoints, and the Isla de Tarifa, among others. Birders and birding tour groups, both national and international, flock to this area at migration times, particularly in the autumn. This is mainly to witness the spectacle of the mass migration of raptors and other soaring birds between August and October. Thousands of birds can be seen on a daily basis, the identity and variety of which depends on the weather conditions and the timing of your visit. Huge flocks of Black Kites and Honey Buzzards can be seen descending from the hills to make the short journey southward across the straits, with hundreds of White Storks, smaller groups of Black Storks, steady streams of Egyptian Vultures, Booted Eagles, Short-toed Eagles and more. Swifts, Bee-eaters and some other passerines also join in the fun. Birding In Spain have been organizing birding tours to this area since 2011, both in the spring and the autumn. However, it’s not all about standing at migration watchpoints. Within reach there are a number of breeding birds which are unique or rare at the European level, including breeding colonies of Little Swifts and Northern Bald Ibis, plus the only Common Bulbuls to have bred in Europe (but not every year), and interesting species such as Spanish Imperial Eagle, Bonelli’s Eagle, Montagu’s Harrier, Red-necked Nightjar, Collared Pratincole, Black-winged Kite, and more. Bear in mind though, that this is not an untouched landscape. The park is surrounded by wind turbines of all ages, the beaches are popular resorts especially with windsurfers and increasingly dog-walkers. And the main road, the N-340, well what can I say? It’s most definitely not a birder-friendly road, with almost nowhere to pull off if you spot something interesting as you’re driving along, it’s almost always busy, and depending on where you want to turn off left you may have to drive further along before turning round and then coming back and turning off right. Nevertheless, any birder who is in Europe and is interested in seeing migration in action should visit this area at least once in his or her lifetime.

Different panorama and vegetation. Many pines in a mix with endless palm trees. separate flowers etc. Many paths lead to the coast. You can walk for hours.
Edwin T — Google review
This is a wonderful amenity. The flora and birds we see on our walks are a joy. It should be safeguarded from the overdevelopment which has blighted other parts of the Spanish coast. We have walked from Zahara de Los Atunes to within sight of Gibraltar over several visits. It is sad to see the walk markers defaced, damaged and removed. No one takes responsibility for the maintenance of these signs.

Mercado Publico de Tarifa is a covered food market located in the historic old part of Tarifa, Spain. The market has a clean and central location, making it a popular spot for locals and tourists alike. Inside, visitors can find stalls selling fresh fish on ice as well as shops offering a variety of fresh produce, meats, breads, clothing, flowers, and household items. The market also features eateries serving simply presented fresh fish dishes at reasonable prices.
City market in the old city. Small but very cozy. I got here early in the morning - when the old city is still empty and the locals come here for groceries and have breakfast here. Fresh bread with pasta and the freshest olive oil - early in the morning with a cup of coffee! What could be better)

Mercado Publico is the covered food market in the old part of Tarifa, Spain. It is central, historic and very clean. There are several stalls inside the main entrance that sell fresh fish on ice, while in the large central courtyard there are a dozen shops that have fresh vegetables, pork, beef, chicken, honey, breads, clothing, flowers and some kitchen and household items. There is also a cafe-bar inside where you can have a coffee or alcoholic drink, but personally I prefer to enjoy a traditional cafe elsewhere in this charming town, the southernmost point of continental Europe on the Strait of Gibraltar. During the summer months Tarifa is filled with tourists and windsurfers from everywhere, and many shop at this market. This market is only open in the mornings and it closes at 1 o'clock, but a cafe/bar is open throughout the afternoon during the warmer months. Shopping at Mercado Publico definitely a good alternative to the large supermarkets in Tarifa.
Kenneth M — Google review
Difficult to better for simply presented fresh fish dishes in a choice of small, medium and full servings at reasonable prices. We were disappointed having arrived at 1:30pm to discover that much of the menu was no longer available, testament to it's popularity and, of course, being fresh, it is exhaustible. Will definitely arrive earlier the next time. It has a pleasant ambience located in the hall of the mercado signalling again the use of local produce on the menu.

Tom P — Google review
Probably the worst club I’ve ever been to. 15 euro cover, air conditioning barely working, rude staff and really poor sound system. The DJ was good but people were not having fun and you could hardly hear the music.

My friends and I wanted to go out for a drink and ended up following a group of people to this place. Thank god we did! The place is really cool and spacious and the staff treated us really nice. Even though there are covid restrictions the atmosphere was unreal! Definitely going back tonight!!

(Translated by Google) Here you can have the first drinks of the night after dinner in the centeo bars. The ideal is to arrive early to be able to sit at the tables on the street, and at 12 at night I recommend entering the pubs in the area, before the lines begin. (Translated by Google) The place inside is very vulgar but the terrace in the heart of the old town makes it mandatory to stop and have something, be it a coffee or a cold beer. Very good and fast staff treatment. In summer the terrace is usually turned to ten.

Night club
Mambo Tarifa is a vibrant new hotspot that perfectly balances the laid-back vibe of a bar with the lively energy of a dancefloor. It's an ideal venue for those looking to transition from relaxed conversations to spirited dancing as the night progresses. Typically, things start winding down between 2 AM and 3 AM, especially during the bustling summer months when crowds flock in earlier and disperse later.

Most horrible place to go out in Tarifa. They don’t let anyone but Spanish people inside. Don’t waste your time standing in line.
