The 42 best places to go out in Dublin

I have been absolutely gumming for sushi the last while. I follow a couple of Japanese restaurants on Insta and their photos has had me increasingly titillated. For a restaurant that is Instagram used very well as it literally gets them a hungry person in the door. So tonight, I ordered online from @michiesushi in Ranelagh. Himself got the tuna and salmon mixed sushi platter and some gyoza. I got everything you see on this plate, 2 tubs of wakame and a mochi for dessert. I'm no expert in Japanese food but I look for certain things when I try a new restaurant: the quality of the sushi rice, the freshness of the ingredients and that clean, sweet flavour you can get from really great sushi. It's all present here with the added bonus that the nori (the seaweed wrap) used was better than any I have had in Dublin before. It was soft and added to the cone rather than just set its boundaries. Highlights of the meal were the spicy tuna cone, the wakame, the sashimi and the mochi, which I dare say may have been made on the premises, which was a completely new experience from me. On top of that, when you order through their website for the first time, you are offered a 20% discount. I am completely blown away.

Fantastic hidden gem! A little hidden away but absolutely worth it, don't be scared! Would recommend! We just had lunch here, had a selection of starters and maki, everything was fantastic and the waiter was lovely too! We'll be back for sure.

Fried gyoza over fried and hard. Sushi very spicy (7 spices are mentioned, but not that they are hot). Fried fish in sushi not freshly prepared and more skin than meat. See the pic. Sorry but I couldn't eat that!

Nice little place very close to Ranelagh park on a back lane. Good rolls and sashimi, and very large and tasty seaweed salad. Pleasant staff.

I often collect sushi here. Today was my first visit to eat at the restaurant. It was nice not only meals but also dessert. (Banana fries with Matcha ice cream) Best place in Ranelagh ever!

During our short stay in Dublin, this pub was conveniently located near our accommodation. I came back three times because of the positive experience. Loved Searson’s! The atmosphere is warm and lively, with a real Dublin charm. The food was excellent and the staff couldn’t be friendlier. The huge selection of whiskey is a real highlight – a perfect place to enjoy a great evening.

First Pub experience here in Ireland coupled with my first pint of Guinness made my visit worthwhile. They have a live with what I think ma mixture of Irish and modern songs. Will come back here when I go back in Ireland

We had dinner at Searsons on our last night in Ireland. We showed up on a Friday night with no reservations. They quickly sat us at the bar while we waited for our table. We weren't there long before they took us to a nice table in the back patio area. The entire place was super busy and lively. The service was fantastic. I had the soup of the day and my husband and I shared the mussels. Everything was absolutely delicious and prepared perfectly.

This is exactly what comes to mind when you think about an Irish pub - very lively, good music, good food (I can recommend the Shepherd's Pie) and - most importantly - excellent drinks. Especially if you are a whiskey enthusiast you will be in heaven - they not only have an impressive collection of Midleton, but also have an extensive menu for all kinds of (Irish) whiskey.

The best shepherds pie ever!!!!!!!! Also had a delicious salad with figs and grilled broccoli. And a roasted vegetable side dish. The atmosphere is exactly what we wanted. Fun and lively. The food was excellent.

Lovely roast. Really enjoyed the food here it’s very high quality meat and chicken they use. Service was second to none which I was surprised as to how attentive they were due to the large volume of people in there. If you want a Sunday roast that’s a touch above the rest then this is your spot! The Guinness was lovely also, cold and creamy. I didn’t see many other drinks being drank even tho they have a vast quantity of them on draft, so don’t panic if you don’t like Guinness. If you’re a wing person I’d also recommend them from what I saw the portions were big and the wings were generously coated in what looked like a delicious sauce. Only thing that stops me from giving it an overall score of 5 is I asked for my beef to come out medium rare but it came out slightly pink but more dark. However, the few chefs working were doing a lot of cooking as it was rammed inside & out. These things happen. Note: I would probably recommend booking a table on weekends especially Sunday as they show sports. But there is ample seating inside. Overall experience really 10/10 and will 100% return!

A lovely spot for brunch with delicious food and friendly staff. However, we specifically chose this place for the cocktails and were a bit disappointed. We had understood that the 2-for-1 cocktail offer was available on Sundays, but it turns out it only applies if you’re seated at the counter. Since we were at a table to enjoy a meal, we couldn’t take advantage of the promotion, which was a bit frustrating. Anyway, if you are not going for the cocktails, the food was nice.

I really liked this place! Good menu, and the food was excellently prepared. We ordered bottle of wine so I will def have to come back for the cocktails. The staff was very friendly (shoutout to Stephen for a great first week!) and the vibes were cool and lively. Prices were fair, I thought.

A classic spot in Ranelagh. Great service, chilled atmosphere, beautiful music and a good menu for brunch. Quite a variety of all the right offerings given my personal taste. From oysters, to shakshouka to avocado on toast....

Excellent brunch spot, solid menu well trained staff and relaxing atmosphere. Went recently with the family and was pleasantly surprised. Traditionally known as a hip spot for the kids to brunch was worried we would be out of place but the staff were welcoming and friendly. The burger is the recommendation, while the po’ boy is tasty it lacks impact. Pancakes are dependable, but the real star of the show is the staff. Wont make it a regular thing but will definitely be back !

Excellent dinner here recently. The smaller starter dishes were probably the highlight for us. Oysters were excellent. Tuna tostadas were delicious. Great cocktails as well, and friendly service.

I came here for an early Sunday brunch with a large group of friends and a few kids. We reserved ahead and our table was ready when we arrived. The place is nice and kid friendly, however the service was bad and the food nothing to brag about. When we arrived we started with ordering coffee and we were surprised by the lack of coffee options (only black coffee is available) and the time needed to get a couple of carafes of coffee! Also the mugs provided are thick and make coffee cold. I had the crab cakes Benedict and there was so much filler that I could not feel the flavor of crab and the poached eggs had semi-hard not runny yolks.

Gorgeous building and a great place to watch the rugby! Lovely staff and excellent food. They were even serving breakfast baps until the lunch menu started. If we lived in Dublin we would be down here all the time!! Thanks ☺️

We visited Camden on a Saturday night, and it was such a fun experience! The place is huge, with an incredible atmosphere that’s full of party vibes. The crowd and energy really made it feel alive, and the music was fantastic at one point they even played a Hindi-Punjabi track, which was a great surprise and added to the fun mix. Definitely a great spot for nightlife and enjoying diverse music in a lively setting

We are Canadians visiting Dublin and saw online that the Camden has a wide range of sports on their tvs. It’s baseball playoffs so we went there to eat and drink and watch the Toronto Blue Jays. We arrived at 9pm and went to the second floor. The female waitstaff we encountered were flat out lying to us. Told us the kitchen was closed and that we could not get any food and they were absolutely certain of it. We tried to order drinks and the bar staff said you had to be sitting at the table if you wanted to order food with your drinks. After 15+ minutes of getting nowhere and actually having one of the female waitstaff that we spoke to walk by us and completely ignore us, I decided to seek out a manager. Once I did that the service turned around 100% and Hector and the other staff were very apologetic and helpful. We ordered drinks and our drinks and pizzas arrived in less than 10 minutes. I was very impressed with the manager’s response to my concerns with the young female weight staff not seeming to want to serve us or help us in anyway. He seemed to know who we were talking about so there may have been a history with this server. It’s a wonderful venue. Lots of televisions and we were there on a Saturday night so it turned into a really fun nightclub. Lots of younger people having a great time. They definitely accommodated us as we watched our baseball game. All the rest of the TVs went dark to support the nightclub atmosphere, but they allowed us to watch our game and enjoy ourselves in the Camden. What started off as incredibly frustrating evening became a very enjoyable evening. Thanks to the Camden staff!

Took my 14 year old ahead of Leeds game on Friday night. Lady serving us was superb and never waited for drink. Food was excellent too. Bouncing atmosphere and we both loved it. Thank you

I went here ahead of Leeds United vs AC Milan. To say it was rammed was an understatement. Amazing venue. Service very slow (they needed more bar staff. Leeds will always bring more!). but I suspect it won’t always be slow

I had so much fun here with my gals ! We went to celebrate my friend’s birthday and honestly it was such a good time!! The dj played great music, the vibe was amazing and the dance floor is super spacious🤗 perfect for dancing the night away. The energy really picks up around 11/12 pm, the atmosphere gets even better. Totally recommend it if you’re looking for a fun night out in Dublin💃✨

Overall Pleasant experience, tasty food, nice music. No parking, slightly over priced. Accepted us as walk in but seated in a high table with high chairs. Would recommend booking. Very tiny table, barely accommodated our orders(2 persons) Service was good, Niamca was super helpful. Food could be improved. Oily beryani, thick Rita salad, no sauce with beryani. Desserts options are good.

It’s a sophisticated place, with beautiful decor and very clean. The service is high-quality, but it makes the customer feel a bit uncomfortable due to the excessive politeness, which borders on servility. I felt watched the entire time. The dishes are very well presented, with generous portions served on elegant tableware. I enjoyed everything I ate, especially the yogurt and the dessert, which were delicious. It’s not a cheap restaurant, but it's worth it for the experience.

Somewhat subpar date night. Maybe I made a bad choice, but I ordered one of the signature dishes, Nehari Gosht, and it really was underwhelming. Beef was tender, and they accommodated my request for extra spicy, but it just tasted one dimensional. This place is on the pricier side which is why I'm more disappointed. My wife did enjoy her lamb biryani, but again, i tasted it and didnt think much of it. They also provided complimentary poppadoms which was appreciated. Service was good. I felt the ambient lighting was too dull for my liking. I'd likely not go back here in a hurry.

Had dinner here while visiting Dublin. We really enjoyed the food. It was fresh and tasty. Best of all, everything was halal. Besides great tasting food, the service was excellent. The staff went out of their way to take care of us. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Atmosphere is really good! They have Nihari which is only spicy food! Presentation was good but taste was not 100% like Karachi Nihari but acceptable! Kindly add Karak Chai in your menu!!

I feel a bit guilty writing this because the staff were wonderful and the service was really top-notch. The atmosphere was also very lovely, so maybe I had my expectations set a bit too high? That said, I was quite surprised by the nearly 30€ charge for a portion of butter chicken that tasted like it had been sweetened with 2-3 heaping tablespoons of sugar right before serving. It felt a little like paying a premium for something that didn’t quite hit the mark. We also tried the Nehari Gosht, which is a signature dish, but it mostly just tasted of mild paprika and butter, with a touch of turmeric thrown in. When the seasoning is that basic, it makes you wonder what the real focus is. I think my main disappointment comes from the price point. If this were just a casual takeout spot, I wouldn't mind so much and simply say it’s geared more towards the European palate and accept it. But with the amount I paid, I guess I expected a bit more depth and authentic flavor.

I really liked the restaurant’s interior. The food was on the pricey side, especially the plato de jamón, which was €25 for just a few slices of ham, some olives and bread. That said, their tapas were great. However, I didn’t find the staff very accommodating—it felt like we were being rushed, possibly because we didn’t have a reservation.

Overall: not bad neither incredibly good. I'd like to come again and try their dinner. Pros: good quality of food. Nice vibe (although design is a bit too much to my liking): not too loud, which is crucial if you meet friends there. Super attentive service. Prices are what you'd expect there (Ranelagh), meaning 15-20 per person for brunch. Portions are fair, not too big (consider ordering a side if you're hungry). Cons: the coffee isn't on the menu -- okay? -- and it's from Nespresso pods... Unclear how one can charge regular barista prices when the quality is noticably lesser. If it wasn't for this flaw, I'd give 4 stars.

La Bodega Tapas is a fantastic spot offering **delicious tapas and cured Spanish meats**, with highlights like **jamón curado** and **meatballs in tomato sauce**. The drinks menu is also strong, with **good wines and cocktails** to pair with the food. On Sundays, the atmosphere gets even better with **live flamenco music**, adding a cultural touch that makes the experience special. Prices are very fair for the area, and while we managed to get a table without a booking, I’d recommend reserving if possible. They also have a lovely **outdoor seating area in the back**, perfect for enjoying warm evenings. A great balance of flavor, ambiance, and value — well worth visiting.

10/10 experience, would definitely recommend. I came in early on a Thursday evening and was met with the whole place buzzing with a great atmosphere. The food and drink were absolutely delicious and the service super friendly, especially the waitress Kamila. She recommended and made me an absolutely amazing cocktail. Will definitely be back.

Really enjoyed my evening here. It was beautifully decorated (for Christmas). We got a few bits to share. The tapas was nice, although I would say small portions for the price, especially the prawns but that’s Dublin for you! The service was fantastic and the atmosphere was great. I’ll be back!

Visited on a Wednesday evening and we selected from a midweek value menu. We picked 4 seafood tapas plus patatas and mushrooms. The food arrived promptly and was really good. Loved the scallop especially. Service was impeccable. A great winelist too. There's a lot of competition in Ranelagh among different restaurants and it's good to see the standards here have stayed high. Recommended.

I had a good experience there, we went without reservations and we could have a table there on Friday night for an hour and a half. Staff are polite, great wine selection and tapas were tasty! We got artichokes and mushrooms pintxos and grilled halloumi cheese , the portions size are good. It worth a visit!

David the head bar guy and Ben were absolutely brilliant. David gave myself and my friend Vicky a lovely wine tasting experience and we chose the best Bottle that suited us. He was from start to finish absolutely excellent at his job and friendly and professional. Was great to have the banter and also eat in one of my fave D6 Wine bars. Always a pleasure to come here, and have a five star experience!

Went to have brunch for a birthday. You know what is great? When the vegetarian options are sad and scarce. You know what is even better? When you order an eggs Benedict without the ham (you can't get it replaced with salmon btw) to find little bits of ham under the egg... Ruined the meal and the experience. I'm not sure if they thought I wouldn't notice because I had prosecco. It's also so nice when prosecco gets onto my belongings because people don't know how to pour. Décor is cool though.

Had a great night out with friends here recently. Service is fantastic, food and cocktails were great. We sat outside upstairs on the terrace. Patio heaters kept us nice and warm. Thanks to Sergio and team for looking after us. Looking forward to returning soon.

Arrive in Dublin on Sunday and what do you do? Have a drink in a few bars maybe? Toners was one such place. A bit of an Irish institution. Crazily busy but still found a table. On the surface it’s mad. But boy is it well run. Table service works brilliantly so no waiting. Nice pint or two of Guinness ( read the sign) Smithies red ale was also a great pint. Nice music going on and a wonderful atmosphere. Would I go back? You bet I would 😁🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🇮🇳 Recommended 😁

Was looking for a good Irish pub - not a crazy bar/restaurant. Toners checked all the boxes. Popular and full on a good night. Almost private and serene on an early Sunday afternoon. The proprietor was awesome, polite and friendly and great place to get a good Irish pub experience without the craziness.

Great atmosphere. We are happy we stopped in for a Guinness. Felt like this is where the locals go, but maybe it is not, idk either way we enjoyed it.

Always a lively pub, especially from Thursdays to Saturdays. If you want a seat you need to get in early. If you’re happy standing you can come at anytime - just be aware that on match day many supporters come here before, during, and after the match, so it can get exceptionally busy. Guinness from inside is usually a 8/10, however I’ve had some dodgey pours and some exceptional pours so take that as an average.

Toners is one of the coziest and most authentic pubs in Dublin — perfect for a relaxed afterwork pint. They don’t serve food, but the great thing is you can bring your own. Right across the street is Cirillo’s, one of the best Italian pizzerias in town. Great Guinness, warm lighting, wooden tables, and that timeless pub charm you just can’t fake

Really cool spot in a great area of dublin. Classic pub inside, with a nice courtyard that is covered in the back. Very lively and a good crowd. Lots of spots to sit, but does get quite busy.

Step back in time with this pub. We sat in the " snug" and were very well looked after by the staff. Really nice wholesome atmosphere which I think sets this pub apart from it's competition.

Came here for date night and it was fantastic. We didn't drink wine because we were driving and found it to be great value in this sense. I would highly recommend and plan to eat here again. Service from all was exceptional. I saved scraps as a treat for my Irish Wolfhound, and they came out with lots more and a few tomahawk bones which was greatly appreciated. Great vibes and great experience!

Showed up 30 minutes late because I got the time wrong and figured our reservation was toast. The Butcher Grill is tiny and usually packed, so I thought there was no chance. But the hostess was an absolute gem. She had even tried calling me and still held our table. That kind of kindness already made me a fan before I even sat down. The food was incredible. I’m not usually into beans, but theirs were so good I kept going back for more. The scallops were perfectly cooked, sweet and tender. And the steak… wow. The flavor was out of this world. I’ve had some great steaks in my life, but this one took the cake. Every bite was rich, juicy, and unforgettable. I ate all over Ireland, and this was hands down my favorite meal of the trip. If you get the chance, do not miss The Butcher Grill.

The quality of the meat was exceptional. My steak was cooked exactly to order, perfect seasoned snd incredibly delicious. Staff were friendly and genuinely knowledgable about menu and cuts of meat. They offered great recommendations. Prices were very fair for the quality. Would happily recommend it to anyone looking to eat great steak.

Freddie the Host was amazing, The starters are all class. Rib Eye Steak was as soft as Butter 🧈 Food was off the Charts so Good. Would love to see a French Peppercorn Sauce on the Menu. Will be back very very soon. John.

Five star meal with a five star service! Enjoyed an evening with some great colleagues and was fortunate to get a booking in this amazing restaurant. Food was great - from starters through till dessert. The day ended with a card payment issue though as their machines were playing up. Came back an hour later to settle the bill. Comes recommended.

The food here was fantastic! Everything we got was perfect, obviously its a bit expensive but the quality of food and service is really good! You definitely need to book in advance but its worth the wait.

I love this place. The chefs and the service is just incredible. It’s rare I see a negative review and when I do I’m shocked at what people complain about. Some people you just can’t please but do yourself a favour and dine here. You will not be disappointed and if you are maybe you’re one of those types 😂

The food here was really good and arrived quickly, but the seating experience wasn’t ideal. Even though the restaurant wasn’t full, we were first placed at a tiny table next to a very loud party of twelve. We asked to be moved, but were refused and told this was the only option. Luckily, after we insisted a bit later, we got another table in a quieter spot. Overall, great food, but the service could be more attentive to guests’ comfort.

I had the chance to try the Rucola pizza today and it was absolutely delicious – literally one of the best I’ve ever had! Fresh ingredients, perfect dough and a fantastic taste. The service was also outstanding – Martina, who served me, was very friendly and professional, which made the whole experience even better. Top-class service! I’ll definitely be coming back. 😁

A nice variety of pizzas on the menu. And the 12" size was perfect for an individual. (Seemed larger than 12".) Good service, and a lively and packed dining area. I would definitely eat here again while in the area. The pizzas, all, were quite good!

Great pizza, wide range of selection with reasonable price. We've been there for a few times and the food quality is always keeping the standard. The only cons would say is that they could be quite busy and forgetting to give you the tap water.

Received recommendations to come here from an Italian friend. We were a big group of 10 and we called a couple of hours ahead as it was a last minute plan, and so it took us over an hour to get a table for all of us. The vibes were great; you can see the pizza being baked in the wood-fire oven. Had the margherita pizza and the cream of mushroom pizzas. Margherita was classically lovely, you get what you expect and it was good. The cream of pumpkin was divine and one of the best pizzas I had! I was worried about it being sweet but it was delightfully savoury. Even some of our meat-eating friends said it was the best option on the table! Highly recommend getting it even if you're not a vegan :)

Lovely atmosphere. Great service. Food was delicious 😋. I got the Vesuvius. I found the prices affordable for Dublin. And getting the pizza cutter to cut the pizza myself is fun. My only friendly suggestion is to have a unique, house made "Sano Dip", different from the other dips available in other pizza places.

I'm so happy to find a really good pizza place in Ireland. The experience is very close to a Napolitan Pizza and I still need to come back to try the Nutella Pizza. PD: we ordered on delivery app and it's not the same, better go to the restaurant

Pretty solid lunch place. Didn’t leave feeling heavy which was nice. I think I wish the portions were a little bigger based on price. Service was great. I LOVED strangely enough the caramelized onions in my bowl. I also really enjoyed the egg plant. Which I got double of that. Overall it was pretty good. It is a plant based protein restaurant so no meat.

Cozy cafe with the best Lebanese food. The bowls are amazing.... fresh, flavorful, varied, and large. The sauces, especially the tahini and garlic ones are the best. Staff is friendly and provide fast service. Prices are very reasonable.

Nice restaurant 😋 good food and affordable prices a heaven for vegetarians. Will recommend to visit this restaurant if you are a vegetarian. Their Palestinian falafel sandwich is amazing. They also have a mini burger now. You can also get build your own bowl which is great. They also have umi meal options at 15.5 euro. Lentil soup is also nice and they have kids meals also. Salads 🥗 are cost effective and full filing and must try. I personally like their Falafel bites of 4 large Falafel filled with cheese. Nice location and open till evening 8 so get your delicious Falafel meal and sandwiches 🥪 😋

The consistency of this place is amazing. I’ve never once been disappointed with my food here. The food is unreal. Like proper bursting with flavour. I love this place and I would 100% recommend it to a friend. To be honest it’s so good that I’d even recommend it to an enemy, just because everyone deserves to experience such incredible food. The interior is a nice chilled vibe. The staff are always super friendly and accommodating. Furthermore, this place is unreal value for money. €10 for a pitta/wrap with wedges and a drink!

Very delicious falafel pockets. I once ordered a wrap, but I much more prefer the pocket. The pocket has less bread and feels it has plenty of nice things inside, whilst the wrap is bigger but they probably put the same amount of food inside and it feels a bit empty. Overall, great place.

I was recommended to come here to from a friend and I'm sure glad I did. Busy line up when I arrived but it moved pretty quickly. Employees are there to give you samples while you wait, and they were more than happy to give you a few to try. I ordered the Sea Salt and Honeycomb Caramel, and both flavors were fantastic. Really rich and creamy, strong flavors. Dairy free options are their sorbet, and a few gluten free as well. Prices are reasonable for what you get, definitely give it a try if you love ice cream!

Murphy's ice cream is first-rate. Its flavors are true, its ingredients seem to be top-quality, and it's not super-sweet. The chocolate whiskey scoop we had along with a raspberry scoop today were both wonderful. And the person dishing up the ice cream couldn't have been nicer.

Truly the best ice cream in Ireland, and some of the best I’ve ever had! The flavors are unique and every single one is delicious. The staff are friendly and patient — samples are unlimited and we basically tried them all! Definitely stop in!

Amazing ice cream shop! No wonder there's always a line. Ice cream was milky and not overly sweet. All servers working there were absolutely friendly and helpful. Can't wait to return.

My smooth chocolate & strawberry ice cream was tasty. The ice cream is from milk from Kerry which is great. The flavours are a bit weird & not all of the same standard. Many are too sweet. Overall it's expensive for what you get. Service is excellent.

Dingle Ice Cream, just off Grafton Street, has quickly become one of my favorite ice cream spots in Ireland — in fact, it’s my second favorite in the whole country. The quality is excellent, and their creativity with flavors is impressive. I absolutely loved the chocolate with Teeling whiskey, a brilliant mix of rich and boozy notes that feels uniquely Irish. The texture is creamy, the taste is fresh, and the overall experience is fantastic. Definitely a must-try when exploring Dublin city center!

Murphys is a must have if you are visiting Ireland! We were in Ireland for a week and I'm only mad we didn't come across it sooner! The ice cream is absolutely delicious.. probably the best I have ever had. The flavors are unique and the staff is by far the friendliest I have ever encountered. Stop by and grab a cone of sea salt and brown bread and you won't regret it!

Went to this place for food. Didn't think bar food could be so good. It was plenty of food. Our servers were lovely. The two girls on front of house really took care of us without us feeling pestered by them. Ensured empty plates were quickly taken and offered drinks at appropriate times. I would definitely go here again. Losing an atmosphere star as the TVs at the front are a bit awkwardly placed. Could do with slightly bigger screens.

Went there twice and on both occasions had good food and beer. What really stood out was the service and friendliness. We were keen on watching a particular football match and they organised good seats for us.

The Bridge 1859 in Ballsbridge is one of Dublin’s great pubs, striking the perfect balance between a lively atmosphere and quality dining. The vibe is warm and welcoming, yet vibrant enough to make it a fun spot whether you’re grabbing dinner with friends or catching a match. The service is consistently excellent — friendly, attentive, and professional. The food goes well beyond standard pub fare, with highlights like wings, chowder, fish & chips, hearty burgers, and more refined dishes such as pan-roasted hake. Portions are generous and the value is solid for the quality and the location. Drinks are also a big plus, with fresh tank beer on tap and a good cocktail selection. On busy days, especially when there’s a big game, it can get crowded and the wait for food may be longer, but the atmosphere makes up for it. Overall, The Bridge 1859 is a spot I’d happily return to: great food, excellent service, and one of the best pub experiences in Dublin.

I visited The Bridge 1859 in Dublin during lunchtime. I ordered the spare ribs, which were served with French fries and a Caesar salad. The ribs were tender, flavorful, and of good overall quality. The waiting time for the meal was around half an hour, but it was pleasantly complemented by a local draft beer. The lunch set menu offered a fair balance of price and quality and left a positive impression. Overall, it was a satisfying lunch experience that I will keep in good memory.

We were passing here today and decided to stop in for some grub as it has been reviving good publicity, the outdoor area was nice and a non smoking outdoor dining area is always a plus. The food was good although the tartar sauce was overbearing and not nice apart from that I could say little bad about the food. The service was very slow and considering there was very few people in at that time I’d have expected it to be more “on the ball”. We had starter and mains and overall it took 1 hour 30 mins (slightly over that) from sit down to leaving. I would go back here as the food is nice and I’d like to experience the atmosphere on a game day 🏉

We were staying at at the Camden Court hotel around the corner and The Bleeding Horse was recommended to us. We ordered the fish & chips with a few draft beers. It was enough for us to split (with the beers) and it was delish. The fish was a tad greasy but hey…..fish n chips, right? The fries were great and it was served with puréed peas which was cool!

Food was okay, chips slightly cold that came with the burgers. Seemed a little expensive for the quality. However spice bag and the Guinness stew tasted great. Service was adequate. I think they are better pubs to go for a meal in Dublin, but I can imagine it is a good spot for a drink.

Been here a few times already but always forgot to take pictures of the food. I always recommend The Bleeding Horse to people and friends visiting town because I really like it for both food and drinks. My girlfriend got the veggie burger which she said it was very tasty and I went for a nice caesar salad.

This was our first pub stop in Dublin. It's apparently one of the oldest pubs in the city, so we thought it was a good place to start. It was a Thursday evening and the place was pretty packed. We managed to find a small table though and each ordered a local pint. We enjoyed the atmosphere for a bit and decided to get the next pint elsewhere since the live music was about to start right next to us. But a solid pub for a local pint!

What an excellent pub. Became our venue of choice (as it was next to the hotel). Very good food choice and quality, good selection of drinks, cocktails were excellent and staff were fantastic. Good tvs with sports shown, live music kept the atmosphere very lively. Toilets well looked after.

Magnificent place, my favourite pub in Ireland, watch the world go by in one of little nooks there, place is so ancient, it feels. Nice sitting inside and out, worth a visit. They serve food too.

For a Thursday evening this place was very busy. Great atmosphere of you are out with your mates for a night out but perhaps not ideal for a quiet romantic meal. Love music is always a treat and the service was surprisingly quickly given how busy the place was. My BBQ chicken burger was very good but in fairness, by the time I got around to eating I could have eaten a bleeding horse!!

Our first stop while arriving in Dublin. Great service upon entering the pub and the bartender gave us some good insights on what to do while being in Dublin. Ultimately it was a lovely chat and made it a good start of our trip. I had my first pint of Guinness I absolutely loved it and became my favorite beer. To go along with the pint, we had cottage pie (gluten free) and a classic toastie. They were both quite excellent and blew our expectations out of the water. I recommended going here to hangout, eat and enjoy the vibes.

A recommendation from a long time friend and Irishman, this bar exudes old Dublin charm and grace. The best Guinness in all of Dublin and, honestly, the best locally brewed IPA here too. The food was spectacular and if you leave any gravy, it should rate as a crime against the culinary arts. On top of all that, nightly live music is devine. A true Dublin institution, well worth your visit.

One of my favourite pubs in Dublin. Timeless charm, authentic atmosphere, traditional Irish music and one of the best pints of Guinness in town. Over 130 years old, it still maintains its original character. You can see old whiskey casks, pumps and tankards in the bar and the wood partitions together with the antique mirrors give a genuine and pleasant atmosphere in which to drink. Slaínte!

I absolutely recommend this pub. Typical irish pub, delicious food and a variety of beverages especially whisky. And a stunning cosy interior. For sure next visit when I will be in Dublin again.

After a long day walking around Dublin, Doheny's was the perfect place to rest, eat, and enjoy a pint of Guinness. The food was outstanding and the Guinness was right up there with my favourite of the day.

Iveagh Gardens is a true hidden gem in the heart of Dublin. Tucked away just behind Harcourt Street and a short stroll from St. Stephen’s Green, it’s easy to miss—but once you find it, you’ll be glad you did. The park is beautifully designed, combining formal landscaping with a natural, relaxed feel. Highlights include elegant fountains, a small waterfall, a charming grotto, and wide open green spaces perfect for picnics or reading a book. What really sets it apart is the peaceful atmosphere. Unlike other city parks, it’s rarely crowded, even on sunny days. It feels like a secret escape right in the middle of the city, offering quiet pathways, shady spots under mature trees, and beautifully maintained flower beds. It’s a great place to unwind, have a thoughtful walk, or just enjoy a bit of nature without leaving the city center. Occasionally, it hosts events like Taste of Dublin or small concerts, but outside of those times, it remains calm and serene. Whether you're a local or a tourist, it’s well worth taking the time to find the entrance and explore this tranquil oasis.

It’s pretty, but the fountains/waterfalls weren’t running. Since we were already near St. Stephen’s Green, we checked it out. But I wouldn’t go out of your way to get here because it seems from the other reviews that it’s hit or miss when they turn on the fountains.

Worth the trip here. Everyone goes to St. Stephen’s Green but these gardens are close by and less crowded. Highly recommend taking the time to visit.

The place is ok. Peaceful, tranquil but a little underwhelming. You should still check it out if you have never been there. Might be a good escape from the hustle of city life.

Great spot for breakfast in the Portobello Dublin area!! We had their breakfast sandwich and potatoes and they were delicious (the sandwich was a bit messy and hard to eat but so worth it). The coffees and lattes we had were great. We went for a Sunday breakfast right when they opened at 10am and they sat us right away. If you have a larger group or come after they open you may have to wait or try and get a reservation. Definitely recommend for a filling and delicious breakfast in Dublin!

The smallest of the Brother Hubbard's cafés, but not lacking in quality. Can't ever go wrong with their coffee, a delectable breakfast and of course the famous cinnamon rolls with walnuts! The location is perfect for those coming in from Rathmines as well as down from the city centre and the large windows are great for watching traffic go by. Special mention of the really friendly and sound team that make it a great experience every time!

Fancy breakfast ✅ If you are close to portobello definitely you need to try Brother Hubbard South. The food is soo nice and the portions are huge, good flavour and very good presentation on the plate, was lovely. The team was nice, very kind and the atmosphere is relaxing and quiet, perfect for a Sunday morning.

you can never go wrong at brother hubbard! i’ve been to all their locations and this one is also of the same high quality food and service. i highly recommend their aubergine sabiche with flatbread and their seasonal french brioche toast with ever changing flavour combinations. the place is a little small and snug but cozy.

I was here for lunch with my friend and I got so disappointed. When I went to the north side brother hubbard, the food was great so I have had a good memory with them. This time, I ordered the chicken wrap, they wrote down to choose slaw or soup so I chose slaw on the menu, and they gave me italian oil salad instead of slaw. The dressing on salad had no flavors. I was so confused... Usually dressing has a bit of vinegar taste but it was like just parsley + oil that was it. I asked the staff to ask vinegar for dressing and he gave me the same oil again. I just wanted slaw🥲... The chicken in the wrap was so cold and rock-hard, no enough sauce to go well with, I could just taste the wrap, tortilla..

One of the better places to go for a top class Guinness! Very picturesque pub & the atmosphere is always great for a match or for a few quiet weekend pints. Great live music, great food and planning on popping over for the quiz in the next week or two.

Beautiful old pub, over 150 years old. What a nice discovery. Beautiful dark atmosphere inside, wood paneling, old pictures hanging on the walls, very comfortable tables and seats. One of the best pints of Beamish in the city and some great service from the staff. Nice and quiet on a Sunday evening. Highly recommended.

First time there, good crowd in the bar. No food served upstairs. We did not eat so unsure of food quality. Smoking area at the front, you need to walk through this area to get into the pub. Staff were friendly atmosphere was nice, albeit a little loud

This was such a pleasant, quaint experience. The staffers were so kind and helpful. The sushi was so good. I truly enjoyed the plum wine. And what people don't talk about: their bathroom was clean, which is greatly appreciated because there are times when you never know what you're gonna get (I came at least to say that for the States, lol). The only thing I can't speak on is the dessert, but maybe I can next visit. I can't wait to visit again, which will be very soon.

We visited the restaurant hoping for a great bowl of ramen — and from the moment we stepped inside, we were impressed. The atmosphere radiated warmth and helpfulness. A young staff member quickly found seating for our family (two adults and two children) and even helped us make space for a buggy. We were given plenty of time to browse the menu with no sense of being rushed. While taking our order, he was attentive and informative — explaining portion sizes and spice levels of the ramen, and making sure we understood that the sushi set was quite generous. The service was truly outstanding. Unfortunately, I forgot to ask for his name, but he was undoubtedly the star of our visit. The food itself was absolutely delicious. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience — we’ll definitely be back.

We went to Zakura on Upper Baggot Street as a group of five. Thankfully, we had made a reservation in advance — the place was absolutely packed when we arrived. The restaurant has two floors: the main level and a lower-level balcony. The menu is diverse, offering a great range of options for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians. We ordered: Food - Salmon Yoridori Sushi Selection - Special Sushi Combination - Ramen - Chicken Donburi - Noodles Drink - Lychee Soda Drink - Non-Alcoholic Beer Dessert: -Mochi -Homemade Matcha Cheesecake All the food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The portions were fair, and everything smelled and tasted delicious — especially the sushi and ramen. The desserts were okay. The matcha cheesecake, while homemade, came in a very narrow slice and wasn’t particularly memorable in taste — not bad, but nothing special. The staff were polite, respectful, and friendly, which really added to the experience. The toilets were clean, though one of the flushes wasn’t working properly, so a bit of maintenance is needed in that area. All in all, it was a great night out — great food and good service.

I had a great meal at Zakura Izakaya. The menu has a huge selection, offering everything from ramen and sushi to poke bowls and more. The service was excellent, and I was also happy to see they have a small outdoor seating area in the back. While I didn't get a chance to sit there myself, it looked like a nice option for a future visit.

Amazing place. Super vibe. Absolutely delicious food. Friendly staff. Highly recommended. We had the chef’s menu and did not disappoint. It’s also loads of food for two people, no need to add anything else! The only thing I didn’t love was the salad, but everything else was a 10 out of 10.

An unforgettable experience! We enjoyed a multicourse meal filled with small, shareable plates, each one surpassing the last. The flavors were absolutely incredible, truly an outstanding dining experience. The customer service was excellent as well. Our waiter patiently answered all of our questions and made us feel completely at ease.

Pleasantly surprised by this spot! Staff were very friendly and met our request to sit in the window. They were also happy to make recommendations. At the end of the day it is a no brainier to take advantage of the chef’s menu. It is an amazing value and allows you to try many different dishes. I think it’s the perfect spot for a special occasion, date night or catch up with friends.

It was our first time in Dublin, and I must say the place was nice, though a bit small and surprisingly noisy. The pasta and pizza we ordered were both delicious, and the staff were generally polite. However, there was a bit of a confusion with our drink order since the waiter didn’t quite understand that we wanted still water/tap water and no other drinks. We had to explain it three times in a row, which was frustrating, since the order was simple and easy to follow.

I usually only leave reviews when an experience is exceptionally good or deeply disappointing—unfortunately, this was the latter. We had a reservation for 6 p.m., and by 6:04, the waiter informed us we’d need to leave by 8. This time limit wasn’t mentioned when I booked. Two of our friends were running slightly late, and we were rushed from the start—pressured to order quickly and constantly nudged along. About half an hour into the meal, a woman who seemed to be one of the managers approached us. While she started out friendly, her tone quickly shifted. She reprimanded me for two people not showing up, saying they had to turn away others because of it. She also criticised our table because one person ordered only a starter and a drink, and another just drinks—something that felt unnecessarily awkward and frankly quite rude. We also asked several times for more sparkling water and still water, but it never arrived. To top things off, we had to pay using two separate card machines—one for the main bill, and another for a 10% service charge, which wasn’t clearly explained and didn’t seem optional. All in all, the experience felt rushed, judgmental, and uncomfortable. Definitely not somewhere I’ll be returning.

Our dishes were works of art, and equally delicious. The pappardelle was scrumptious and tended to arrabbiata. Wonderful! The staff was extraordinarily friendly, the atmosphere relaxed, Very nice interior. Can’t wait to go back and try some more.

We celebrated our anniversary here last night. The staff were so welcoming and friendly. Great service and incredible food. Minestrone soup was the best I have ever eaten.

We had a delicious meal and great service but we were seriously disappointed by how we were treated at the end of our meal. We had 4 adults and 1 child attend for the 7.30 sitting. We advised that we would have a child with us when we made the booking. Our 5 year old was very well behaved for the meal and about 10 minutes before we left she got a bit upset and one of the adults with our party took her outside to wait for the taxi. Before they stepped outside, as we were paying the bill, the lady who I assume was the manager, asked us if everything had gone OK with our meal. We said yes and that we had really enjoyed it and she commented that the child with us must be tired, which we agreed with as we were packing up to take her outside, and then she said “we normally have children at the earlier sitting, try to remember that next time”, before immediately walking off and not giving us the chance to respond. If we had been told when we made the reservation that the restaurant required us to attend the earlier booking, that would have been fine, but they were aware that we were bringing a child and nothing was mentioned. To have such a snide comment made as we were packing up to leave and after our child had been so good for 95% of the evening (and as I say, as soon as she started crying she was brought out of the restaurant) really soured our experience. Needless to say, we won’t be back!

Heard about their seafood risotto and it did not disappoint. Delishly rich sauce, lovely fresh clams. Service professional and attentive. Owners came to check in on our table. Proper family spot 🤌

This is the best Italian food I have had in Ireland. They gave us a special accommodation for our large party and then went above and beyond with the service. I will definitely be eating there next time I am in dublin.

Cozy cocktail bar and restaurant. There is a very long selection of cocktails. Food wise they offer only tapas. We got meat and fish tapas to share and they were both really good although they are suitable for only 3 people and we were 4. Cocktails were really tasteful and original and the dessert was amazing. I’d recommend this place although prices are on the higher side.

The food was great! We didn't need to wait for the waitress and she was very nice. The food and drinks have been prepared promptly. Overall great place, I liked that the music wasn't as loud as in other places in Dublin and you could hear each other.

I have mixed feelings about this place: we had food and drinks. The food was excellent. I’d say I was not too fond of the potato in the octopus, but everything was great, especially the burrata and the meatballs. The drinks were disappointing. They have great presentation but they absolutely need to work on their drinks. All the proportions were wrong. Too much Campari in a Negroni, too much lime juice on a margarita, water down almost no vodka cosmo. I know their bartender can make a good drink as I asked for a particular mix, and he delivered perfectly, but all their recipes are wrong, and I would have returned most of the drinks.

Awesome place!!! We celebrated a birthday party with a theme. We were in a outside place and we could here the live music from the inside wich was bothering all night our event. I had camaroni rings and they were delicious but veery spicy (I would recommend only if you like it, I didn't knew and I don't do spicy so.. don't be like me and ask! Staff ARE GREAT!! Nice pub with indoor, covered outdoor with heaters and outdoor seating. Fried Korean chicken burger is sweet and spicy on a brioche bun. Live music Saturdays at 9:30 and bank holiday Sunday’s at 9pm.

My wife, our dog, and I visited, The Bath Pub this weekend, and from the moment we walked in, we felt completely at home. The staff were amazing! Friendly, welcoming, and attentive and the food was excellent. It’s so refreshing to find a Dublin pub that’s genuinely dog-friendly! With a great atmosphere, delicious food, and the football on, we’ve definitely found our new local.

Lively residential pub. Quite a modern feel but still plenty comfortable on the inside. The Pizzas are excellent. I didn't check but feels like they were cooked in a proper pizza oven.

It’s great having such a lovely spot just a few steps from the office for an after-work pint. Good variety on tap, tasty pints, and a stout as fresh and creamy as it should be. Always good vibes too – plenty of people with the same idea of how to spend their free time after work.

Had just gotten into Dublin with my partner, and stopped in for some food and drinks! Super friendly service, great Guinness pint. We got the fish and chips, and buffalo wings with chips. Totally worth it for the price. The fish and chips were amazing, and the wings were wonderful. Just what we needed after traveling and having a long day. The waiter was incredibly kind, overall wonderful experience! So sad we are leaving and can’t go back as often as I’d like haha

I visited on Sunday, so I couldn’t order any foods. However, the atmosphere was cozy and their services was great. Guinness was cheaper, and even more delicious than other pubs. It’s a nice place to try.

Spent a Tuesday evening here as a couple. We sat at the outdoor terrace which had a lovely vibe, our server was friendly and chatty and overall the atmosphere was great. The servers also check on you often and food/drinks arrive fast. It got pretty loud and lively at times, but you can still have conversation. We had the special pizza (which had tuna tartare) it was so unique and unlike anything we had before, we absolutely loved it. I can confidently recommend their house cocktails as well, we had a few of those and they were amazing (especially the Regina!) We will be back:)

Such a cool and hip vibe to spend time on Friday night. The pizza is not sure with the price. It has lovely doughs but also has mussy toppings on the top with a small size. And the most annoying point is actually that all the staffs keep asking to order more like 3 times in 10 mins. We just finished pizzas and is kinda full to be honest with no room for drinks yet. But it feels like forcing to pour liquid into my stomach and then became so lazy to not chat anymore. I tried their cocktails a long time ago and it was average. Anyway it’s just all about the atmosphere.

I adored this restaurant and beer garden. The vibe was wonderful there and the beer tent was such a fun vibe. The beer list had lots of options and the personal sized pizza were amazing! As a sour beer lover and vegan there were plenty of options!

Great bar, away from the main tourist areas and definitely worth seeking out. Very friendly staff, great selection of drinks and absolutely fantastic pizzas. It was very busy when we visited (8pm on a Thursday) and I would say it's the same everyday. It's easy to see why it attracts such a crowd, a must visit when you are in Dublin.

Awesome spot in Smithfield neighborhood. Beer selection was incredible and the pizza was perfection. I ordered the potato and pancetta pizza and could not recommend it enough. The bartenders were super friendly and attentive and provided great service despite how busy it was. Would definitely add this to your list if you are in the area.

Full of birdlife, ducks, swans, herons, seagulls, and pigeons , it’s a wonderful place to enjoy a bit of nature in the city. I even spotted golden fish in the pond! Perfect for walking, relaxing, or having a picnic, it really feels like a hidden gem in Dublin. The only drawback is that the public toilets close after 5 pm, which can be inconvenient.

Herbert Park is stunning! It's one of Dublin's most beautiful parks. Whether it's Spring or Autumn, it's amazing. In Spring, you'll find gorgeous cherry blossoms, and in Autumn, the park transforms with a cinematic view of yellow and brown leaves.

Definitely the park to go if you want to see the cherry blossoms during the spring time. Also love going here every Sunday because of the farmer's market. 💕

Came for lunch with a friend. No one was around to know if we just sat ourselves or had to wait to be seated. Eventually found someone to get a table. Ordered the fish and chips which were fantastic. Nice crispy batter that wasn't too thick, soft juicy fish inside and crispy chips that had some nice seasoning on them. Servers were nice, and restaurant was clean.

Super friendly and kind staff! One of my colleagues booked 2 tables here for last night. They didn’t have any available tables inside, so they gave us 2 tables outside. When everyone arrived and because it was a bit cold, we asked a member of staff to check if there would be some free space inside, as we would like to move in where is warmer. The guy said, give me few moments to check. Went in, and 3 minutes later, came back and said, I have 2 free tables, you can have it. We happily moved in and ordered food and drinks. Was a perfect night! Thank you so much!

I had a disappointing experience at this bar due to poor service. Despite there being three staff members behind the bar who didn’t appear to be particularly busy, I waited around 7–8 minutes to be served. I had to move along the bar several times just to get someone's attention. During this time, two more senior staff members came over, noticed a small group of us waiting, and then left without engaging. When I eventually voiced my frustration—admittedly in the heat of the moment—a junior staff member asked what was wrong. I told him I felt the service had been poor, and his only suggestion was that I speak to the manager. As I left, I spotted the manager but decided it wasn’t worth the effort to explain the situation further. Unfortunately, based on this visit, I wouldn’t recommend the place. Hopefully, this was just an off day, but the overall experience left a lot to be desired.

We went on a Friday and it was very busy. We found seating and the waitress came right over and got our order. We ordered the steak. Drinks and food came out quickly. Service was great. Food was very good. The Guinness was outstanding

The tapas are amazing here so flavorful and unique. The cocktails are top-notch. Nothing was left on the plates. The tostada I got was literally one of the best things i have had the pleasure of tasting.

Recently celebrated my 30th birthday here. It’s a great venue, the staff were amazing and really looked after us all. There’s a great selection of drinks and the food is fantastic and presented lovely. Really can’t thank the staff enough for looking after us all. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be back

Our go-to pub in Ranelagh. Pretty interior. Cozy atmosphere. Ample seating. Great stuff. They have outdoor seating in the terrace. Good for summer time. Indoor seating is available in both ground and first floor. Tapas food available. We love the nachos there. Also a bookshelf available behind the couches and you can always grab a book if you would like. Gets pretty crowded during busy days. Great place to hang out.

Must order the Irish Coffee here, one of the most balanced and smooth ones I’ve had. Also a perfect place for rugby fans and just a casual pint. It is a great representation of a good pub in Dublin.

Needed to buy a pair of running shorts…mission accomplished. Saw the Swan bar across the street. Perfect Ireland corner bar. Met every expectation. I first ordered a pint of Guinness the a Jamison Ginger. I thought I needed to make it a double. So I ordered double the Jamison. My bartender brought me a single Jamison Ginger. Then a double Jamison too. First I laughed then thinking about it…it was what I ordered. I drank it all 😊😉

I entered the bar and approached the counter, the man behind the bar walked to the opposite end away from me so I approached another server who took my order, then the man returned to say to me that the owner doesn't allow tracksuit bottoms but that he would allow me one drink (im 38 and was wear stylish bottoms, not dirty bottoms after a football match), I looked around the bar and one man was wearing shorts and another old man entering was wearing grey cotton tracksuit pants so I asked the man was the boy in shorts given the same speech as me about casual wear and he said no because it's a sunny day out and they expect people to dress more casually on a sunny day, the server behind the bar had his shirt hanging out of his trousers and no sign to be found in the bar regarding essential neat dress so I mentioned this and he wasn't happy. I naturally decided not to stay in a place i felt unwelcome. A private word or taken to one side would have been a better approach than schooling someone in middle of the pub floor in front of other patrons. Very unpleasant experience. Can't comment on food as didn't eat or drink and wasn't offered a menu.

It is my favorite pub in Dublin. Let’s be honest maybe my favorite Irish pub in the world. It is a beautiful Victorian pub that has been owned by the same family for years. 87 years. A definite rugby bar too. They pour a perfect Guinness and you can learn a lot about Irish whiskey here. I have been here several times including at the end of the pandemic and I have always received top notch service. I feel very comfortable coming in for a pint as a solo female traveler. There is a covered outdoor area if the weather is nice. If you don’t want to drink, they make a great flat white. My kids in their 20s love it too.

Can't go wrong with a BYO drinks & snacks pool bar. Nice staff, decent affordable tables. Each pool table comes with a fridge to keep your drinks cold. Nice way to spend a few hours. Corkage fee of €5 pp.

Been here a few times with friends and my girlfriend. It’s always busy, so I’d recommend booking ahead. It’s a bit pricey - around €20 per hour for a table - and they’ve done away with the table tennis, which is a shame. But it’s still a great spot to hang out. Staff are friendly and they do food, like pizzas. You can bring your own drinks, but it’s €5 per person, and they’ve got fridges to keep your drinks cold. They’re happy to lend cups if you forget. Overall, a good place for a chill night out.

Where cinema is respected! 3 distinctly different screen spaces that each have a charm. Full bar and restaurant. You can bring your purchased drink into the cinema. Working on glazed roof at present, though intrusion is minimal (Aug 2024). There is an outdoor area too. One can exit (not enter!) from here into Meeting House Square.

I’ve been to this cinema several times as a member, and I find it difficult to understand why a film institute cinema would allow the staff to turn on the light about 3 minutes before the film actually ends. While I understand that many cinemas choose to turn on the lights when the end credits begin, turning them on while the final scenes are still playing is inappropriate and disrespectful, as it disrupts the viewing experience and affects the audience’s ability to fully engage with the visuals on screen. I’ve encountered this issue three times at Cinema 1 this year. As a film institute, I believe that respecting the integrity of the cinematic experience should be a fundamental standard.

The cinema is in an ideal location somehow avoiding most of the tourist madness in Temple Bar and there is a good variety of independent movies to choose from - my only gripes would be the lack of comfortability when it comes to seating and very frequently the tables to sit and have coffee are very dirty. The food and drinks are slightly overpriced in my opinion but still good quality. Staff are pleasant to deal with which would probably draw me back to this cinema

Went to see Barry Lyndon 50th Anniversary 4K Restoration last night. Possibly the worst screening of this masterpiece I’ve ever seen. Projection was miles off and not up to the job, image not even keystoned correctly. Very poor. In addition, there’s no aircon in the cinema which makes 3hrs in a full house during July very uncomfortable.

The IFI is an Irish cinematic institution, but involves some compromises. The main cinema is beautifully clean, comfy and proudly spacious, but the seats in Cinema 1 could do with being 'raked' rather more: little people have to improvise mounds from coats and teddies to peek over the top; and there are no plastic bucket booster seats at all. One might also add no sweets in the foyer. But that's the giveaway: the IFI is a treat hub essentially for adults. Its art-house films are especially impressive- thoughtfully selected, often rare cinematic discoveries. In fact, the IFI could just as easily be rebranded the French Film Institute, such is the tonnage of French cinema and regular French movie festivals. Of course, as if to disprove the point that they're not so child-friendly, they occasionally offer family screenings, where they arrange for a public reading of subtitles- extremely thoughtful for those kids who can't read, if insanely distracting for francophones. The atrium is less polarising: a beautiful space flooded with natural light from a large glass ceiling, and there's a great cafe to the side with loads of high quality choice. Amusez-vous bien!

A bit of a weird experience here recently - the food was very nice, but we weren't able to finish our pizzas and wanted to bring the reminder (about half a pizza) home with us to have later. We called over the waitress, and I asked for the bill and a box for the leftovers. The waitress said "yes yes yes", and then put one plate on top of the other with some on the pizza still on the bottom plate, which made us raise our eyebrows. Then we were given the bill, paid it, and waited a few more minutes. The waitress was looking at us kinda wondering what we were still there for, and then we realized that we weren't getting that pizza boxed up. We discussed what to do between us, and thought that the pizza was probably already binned and didn't want to create an awkward/embarrassing scene in front of other customers by saying that we asked to take the leftovers. We decided to just leave it, but we won't be back. Good food, but poor communication skills from that staff member, which is a shame.

Cute coffee spot! It’s takeaway only, but there’s a wide variety of drinks and some nice sweets available. I ordered an oat cappuccino, but unfortunately, I was given a regular milk one by mistake. They replaced it right away, but I got sick afterward, and they didn’t offer any compensation or discount. Probably the best skinny latte I’ve had this year! Really smooth and silky. The barista was very friendly and there’s a little oasis in the back of the shop to sit. Very nice pastries too. Great community spirit shown by the owners - free coffee for pensioners! Highly recommend

Place is good and generally positive. I take my toddler here for a walk and never faced any issue. Only mind about dogs being taken for a walk here. Me and my toddler love dogs and that is the prime reason we go there. But, just about letting toddler touch grass or soil, I wont be comfortable knowing that dogs might have peed there.

First time dining in Urban Health for brunch and I have to say this place didn’t dissapoint me at all :) The menu had a wide range of intriguing dishes and prices are very reasonable. I went to a gig here last night 7th April. We were there approximately 7:30,I went to bar to order some drinks. There was No Guinness, Heineken,Moretti and no white wine. I also noticed very little in cold cabinets Very disappointing but at least the artists were good

Can be cramped, but also just suppose that's the whole appeal of a place like the cellar? Regularly showcases great smaller Irish acts that are trying to break out, I've found some really great bands here at various student events. The main stage probably has more prestige, but the cellar has more variety. Lots of swings and misses, but when they hit they hit yknow?

Good comedy, a pint of beer and a very special location. The workmans club is a very high recommendation if you want to have a quality evening.comedy 7 days a week and I bet that partying in this vintage rooms can be kinda extra ;)

I’m leaving a one-star review because I was denied entry to this nightclub without any valid reason, even though I had already paid for my ticket in advance. Weirdly hostile door staff for a place which struggles to fill out. Interrogate you where you're from. Inside TWO different times I got accused of being a drug dealer despite barely even drinking in my life, let along taking or selling drugs. Security sent a "plant" over to ask me if I was selling and I said no and that I didn't even know what drug he was talking about. Then I got pounced on by multiple staff roaring to search my wallet and pockets. Place also has many creeps inside who will harass you, and many others who behave hostile towards you while you mind your own business. For one vodka white it was like €11. Was treated in the most insanely bad way by this place, unlike any of the 100+ pubs or clubs I've ever been to, where I've never had any major problems.
