New American restaurant
Bar
Restaurant
Alden & Harlow is a subterranean restaurant located near Harvard, offering a rustic-chic ambiance and serving creative New American cuisine along with cocktails on tap. The menu features unique dishes like pickled corn pancakes, basil pasta with carrot Bolognese, and a sought-after 'secret' burger.
We had a great dining experience. From the food, to the service and atmosphere everything was top notch. The family style dishes were filling and very flavorful. I would say that for 2 ppl, 3 dishes is more than enough. We didn’t have room for desert. The drinks looked great; and the non-alcoholic beverages were reasonably priced. Would definitely go back there!!
Chaffinch — Google review
Among the best food in Boston… with lemon ricotta pancakes that are life changing and really hit the spot for brunch. Shockingly not crowded even on a popular Sunday! How is this possible? Pricing is on the higher side, sure — but it’s worth it and portions were large. Dinner may not be the same story. We ordered across the menu and didn’t have a single un-devoured item among the lot. Desserts are decadent and could honestly stand to be less luxuriantly sweet, but the savory dishes were stellar throughout - although I’m going to break my own rule and say the sweet\savory pairs especially the pancakes and French toast were of course the best of the whole selection. The crispy potatoes… incredible! “60 degree eggs” run a bit soft so request a higher cook temp for those if you can. Try the steak+eggs Benedict too; those were another stand out. Burger was solid. Sandwich was solid. Nothing too fancy from the greens alongside, could have used more color there perhaps? A little tomato and feta? Outdoors can be WINDY so be aware. It was a little annoying but nice and secluded behind the venue. Indoors is cozy, darker, pretty standard for the area. Service is friendly and attentive. Do not miss this brunch! Bring a jacket if outdoors though. Would love to see heaters installed in this area. Portions are plenty big. The idea of 1-2 per person is generous and contributes to the high cost some reviewers cite. Maybe this is a bit different during dinner. Most folks will find one dish is enough but it can vary from dish to dish. Pictures will be helpful here so check those out.

I haven’t been to this beloved brunch spot in quite some time largely due to the persistent challenge of securing parking, but it has remained one of my perennial favorites. On this return visit, we ordered the farm vegetable shakshouka and the French toast with roasted strawberry and rhubarb, and both dishes reaffirmed why this place holds such high esteem in my memory. The farm veggie shakshouka was a standout. I deeply appreciate that they offer a vegetarian version of this traditionally egg-centric dish, and as the name implies, the vegetables were impeccably fresh. More than just an assortment of seasonal produce, the vegetables were thoughtfully chosen and well-textured, allowing them to stand up to the richly spiced tomato base without being lost in it. The balance between the earthy sweetness of the vegetables and the warming acidity of the sauce demonstrated a nuanced understanding of the dish's North African roots. The French toast with roasted strawberry and rhubarb was equally exceptional. The fruit, rather than being an afterthought or garnish, was roasted to intensify its natural sugars and deepen its flavor. The strawberries brought a bright, almost jammy sweetness, while the rhubarb offered a subtle tartness that cut through the richness of the toast with elegance. Together, they created a vibrant interplay of flavor and texture—a true celebration of the season’s best. This meal reminded me why, despite logistical inconveniences, this place is well worth the return.

The vibes and the service are amazing! The drinks are very unique! However, the foods are good but not the best. The restaurant filled up very quickly on a weekend night! So make sure to reserved ahead.
Eugene C — Google review
We started with the morning fog drink and coffee. Coffee was smooth, drink layers of flavors amazing. We started with the side biscuit and it was amazing and the homemade butter perfect. We split the focaccia egg sandwich and French toast between us and had plenty left over. French toast was not too sweet, greens on the side of the sandwich and the sandwich was incredible. What a great chef!!
Shane O — Google review
Ive been a few times during brunch. Once in a group of 2 and another a group of 7. Both times I reserved in advance which was especially necessary for the group of 7. The back patio is lovely during the warmer weather, otherwise, I like inside under the skylight. The interior of the restaurant is dark and has a dimmed light atmosphere which isn’t my favorite for brunch. The Montecristo sandwich was really great as was the focaccia egg sandwich. The bravas skillet is 90% potatoes so I’d only recommend for potato lovers.
Timothy T — Google review
The chicken fried rabbit was slightly overpowered by the blue cheese, Duck pierogi could’ve been better with less dough, for the steak, the meat was sort of chewy although the color for medium rare was correct. I enjoyed all these dishes though and the ambiance was perfect and upscale. Would come back ❤️
Grace Z — Google review
It’s a cool place with delicious food. I liked both the burger and the pasta. The pasta sauce very special in a good way. The only downside is that the portions are small and the food is overpriced. Maybe good for occasions.

Mediterranean restaurant
Restaurant
Oleana, located in Cambridge, is a renowned restaurant founded by award-winning Chef Ana Sortun in 2001. The warm and inviting interior or peaceful garden patio provide the perfect setting to enjoy inventive Eastern Mediterranean dishes made with locally-sourced ingredients. Oleana's kitchen has been a mainstay of the Cambridge dining scene and has received numerous accolades for its bold fusion of Middle Eastern flavors in small plates.
Every dish was amazing. We had previously dined at the sister establishment Sarma, and it was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. Oleana did not disappoint either! We dined as a table of four and just shared a bunch of dishes. We left full and satisfied. The service was great, they were very concerned about making sure we knew there were no allergens in the dishes. Great Mediterranean flavours and incredible and affordable wine list.
Catherine L — Google review
Pretty pricy. Spent $100 for 2 people. They have a rotating menu but if its there, i would recommend the sultan’s delight. The short rib was super soft but not overcooked and too greasy. I thought everything else was pretty standard. Not bad, but not mind blowing or worth the price. The atmosphere and service i would say reflect the high cost.
C민아 — Google review
The food and service were excellent. We maybe a little too close to our neighbor diners. We can hear all their conversations. I do recommend booking in advance. It was a full house by 7pm on a Friday night. I really love the garden salad and bake Alaska dessert. Those two items were really a unique take on something commonplace. All the other dishes were great too!
Justin K — Google review
Oleana is a cozy Mediterranean-inspired small plates restaurant with a lovely ambiance and great service — but for me, the food overall was just okay. We ordered quite a few dishes to sample the variety, and while some stood out, others didn’t quite hit the mark. Zaatar Bread: The date butter that came with it was mind-blowing — honestly the best part of the meal. The whipped goat cheese wasn’t for me, but that’s more of a personal preference. Ricotta & Corn Dumplings: Very mild and soothing, but the texture felt a little sticky. Wouldn’t be my top recommendation unless you like that soft, sticky feel. Fatteh: Their best seller — and I can see why. Definitely a creative twist on the traditional version and pretty flavorful. Dark Leafy Greens: Cooked in a garlicky something that reminded me of an Indian home-style dish. Loved this one — comforting and familiar. Spinach Falafel: The beet tzatziki was nice, but the falafel itself felt gooey and undercooked. Baked Alaska: Got this to go since we were too full, but it’s apparently their star dessert. Midnight Ramble (cocktail): Too icy for my taste, but still refreshing and nicely balanced. Service was wonderful — friendly, attentive, and efficient. Parking is available right across the street, and the Central Red Line station is close by if you’re coming by train. We went on a Sunday night, and the only reservation available was at 8:30, which says a lot about how popular the place is. If you’re going with two people, I’d suggest starting with four small plates and ordering more if you’re still hungry. Overall, a nice experience, but for me, it didn’t fully live up to the hype.
Ramya A — Google review
We made a reservation a month ago. I was really curious to know why the reservation slots fill up so fast, and what all the hype is about. This place really lives up to its hype. Small, cozy and intimate setting, that serves robust flavours. I fell in love with each dish I had. For me, all the flavors blending in my mouth was a new experience. The different flavors were intense and balanced. The portions are small but they will leave your heart content. Our favourite was Sultan’s Delight and Vermont Quail Kebab, but the other three dishes we got were fantastic too. We’d definitely visit them again.
Chandan S — Google review
Za’tar bread and fatten were definitely my favorite. I enjoyed all the dishes. Especially the meat ones, wasn’t the biggest fan of their shrimp but seething else especially the baked Alaska and lamb were phenomenal.
Navya S — Google review
I had dinner at Olena in Cambridge and was really impressed. The restaurant has a simple and unpretentious vibe — nothing flashy, just a clean and comfortable space where the focus is clearly on the food. It feels welcoming and calm, perfect for a relaxed evening out. We chose the Chef’s Choice of Vegetable Meze and Dessert, and it was absolutely worth it. A series of small, vegetable-centered dishes came out one by one, each well-seasoned and carefully prepared. There was a good balance of warm and cold plates, different textures, and interesting flavors. Even without any meat or fish, the meal felt thoughtful and satisfying. You could tell the kitchen puts effort into getting the details right. I also ordered a cocktail, and it was excellent — well-balanced, not too sweet, and clearly made with quality ingredients. The drinks menu isn’t overly long, but what they offer is crafted with the same care as the food. Service was smooth and friendly — present when needed, but never pushy. Our server explained the dishes briefly and kept the pace of the meal just right. Dessert was a few small sweet bites, not heavy, but just enough to end the night on a good note. I’ll definitely return. Olena is a gem for anyone who enjoys plant-forward food, great drinks, and a relaxed, no-pressure dining experience.

Wonderful and delicious food options to try out for fine dining! Vegetarian friendly options are there and service is excellent. Parking is somewhat hard to find and a little pricier though!

New American restaurant
American restaurant
Pammy's is a delightful Italian-inspired New American restaurant nestled in the heart of Cambridge, making it one of the most talked-about spots for natural wine enthusiasts in the Boston area. With its chic yet cozy ambiance, complete with a warm fireplace and elegant decor, it's an ideal venue for romantic occasions like Valentine's Day.
Pammy's prix-fixe experience ended up being the perfect choice for my small special occasion dinner with my parents, who are most familiar with Italian food when dining out but are starting to try new things. I actually can't overstate how much of a success this was for them (and therefore me) lol! We ordered 9 delicious dishes that were all thoughtfully prepared, balanced, and presented, and everyone found a new dish they were surprised by and loved. Food was the star of the show and conversation. The kitchen does great things with pasta and seafood. Space was lovely and still felt intimate despite the close and lively atmosphere - good spot for your fancy little date or special occasion. Service was considerate and friendly, too.
Sam — Google review
Pammy’s exceeded all expectations. I was seated on a plush cushion beside the glowing fireplace, where lit candles flickered inside the hearth — easily the most charming seat in the house. The space feels like an intimate, stylish living room, thoughtfully designed and deeply welcoming. The service was the best I’ve experienced all month — better than Giulia, Talulla, Scampo, nine, and Moëca. The places I just mentioned, they all have stellar service! My server Adam checked on me many times, always anticipating needs before I voiced them. Lee or Leigh at reception was also exceptionally warm and gracious. The $84 tasting menu lets you pick any three dishes, and additional items are $20 each — simple, flexible, and smart. I ordered five items total: Gem Lettuce with Sicilian pistachio and strawberry — a bright, flavorful start. De Koning Mussels — tasty, though a smaller portion. Lumache — their flagship dish since day one. I’m glad I tried it, though next time I’ll go with Adam’s recommendation: the Lasagna Bianca. Bluefish — a standout. This was the best bluefish I’ve had since the golden era of Legal Sea Foods in the 1980s. Highland Farm Venison — my favorite. Perfectly cooked and deeply satisfying. For drinks, I had two mocktails: Persephone — a complex blend of pomegranate, lime, pineapple, cinnamon, and club soda. Last Crusade — the winner of the night. Zero-proof amaro, turmeric, coconut, honey, ginger, and lemon — a sophisticated, golden drink I’d order again without hesitation. Pammy’s wins for its service, comfort, and quiet confidence. Next time, I’m going for the lasagna — and if I’m lucky, I’ll get the fireplace table again.
Kelly C — Google review
Atmosphere was amazing, packed on a Wednesday night. Service incredible. Food was good. Our highlights: Lumache, lasagna Bianca, bluefish, affogato for dessert. Expensive, expect to pay >$100 a person with tip and kitchen appreciation fee etc
Cami T — Google review
Very expensive for the amount of food you get. One of my dishes was spaghetti 2.3 which was underwhelming and not seasoned. Branzino was tasty, it came with a tiny piece of fennel but overall nothing special. The only impressive dish was salmon crudo. Dessert is not included, its portion is very small, and the bill also comes with a 6% kitchen fee. I wound not go back.
Magda J — Google review
We absolutely love this restaurant! We’ve been going there for dinner to celebrate our anniversary for 3 years now, so it has become a tradition. It’s a fixed meal menu where you get 3 dishes per person, and I highly recommend sharing to try out as many as possible. The place itself is beautiful and has a really nice vibe. The service was also immaculate. Anyway, nothing but good things to say. Definitely worth checking out.
Liran T — Google review
Often considered one of the best restaurants in Boston and per usual it stood up to it. Everything was cooked perfectly. You could nit pick dishes here and there on minor things, but it doesn't take away from a 10/10 experience. Loved some of the innovative flavor combinations and the service was excellent. Wine pairing could use some refinement, but I appreciated the adventurous choices. A couple of dishes, mainly the chicken really lacked flavor, the gochujang bolognese which is usually a 10 was a little underwhelming. Finally the short bread dessert could do without. But again, 10/10 everything was great.
Dara B — Google review
OK. Get ready for great food! We loved our experience there. Great service, great vibe, fabulous food! But just a few recommendations : Have a light lunch, don’t do any munchies in the afternoon, don’t have all the great bread they bring you when you arrive. Then, if you follow these simple friendly advices, you’ll be able to eat all the fabulous 3 courses that will follow!!! Thank you Pammy’s team. We will come back to see you soon!
Pierre B — Google review
One of our favorite spots in Cambridge! We love the idea of choosing our own adventure yet doing a tasting menu. All the wines paired beautifully and the ambience was spectacular. Every dish was well curated and all in all, the dinner was enough food so that you weren't hungry, but you weren't grossly overfed either. Can't wait to go back!

Irish pub
The Plough and Stars is a cozy Irish pub located in Cambridge, known for its warm atmosphere, live music nights, and diverse menu. The pub has been a local favorite for over 40 years, offering an eclectic comfort-fare menu with dishes like Irish breakfast, buttermilk fried chicken BLTs, New Orleans gumbo, and Cuban sandwiches. The pub also boasts a lengthy beer list and hosts live music seven nights a week.
Plough and the Stars exceeded expectations on my recent visit for a light dinner and drinks. Despite the bar being moderately crowded and us seemingly the only ones dining, the overall experience was surprisingly delightful. The Fried Chesapeake Oysters and Pan Roasted Brussel Sprouts from the small plates menu were perfect small bites with our beers. The brussel sprouts, in particular, with its crispy texture, savory bacon, and a tangy blue cheese drizzle, was a standout. However, the highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the New Orleans Gumbo. Despite its simple toppings of chicken, shrimp, and Andouille sausage, the soup boasted a rich and deeply satisfying umami flavor. It was hands down one of the best Gumbo I've had in the city, and we ended up scraping every last bit from the plate. Overall, a great spot for a comforting and casual Irish bar experience with great food and service. If you’re near Central Square, I highly recommend giving them a try.
Jea K — Google review
Nice little Irish pub near Harvard square. I went there for brunch on a Sunday. The catfish sandwich was good. They have approximately 13 beers on tap and a good selection of liquors. The ambience is good. Patio seating is available. Overall, a nice place to check out if you’re in or around Harvard square
Balaji K — Google review
Exactly what I want in a pub. It's small which forces patrons to acknowledge the existence of others which build a bit of a communal vibe as the night goes on. The staff gets it done and they have a decent beer selection.
Adam C — Google review
The Plough and Stars is a regular for my roommates and I! It’s very much a classic local bar you come to get the occasional beer and catch up with friends. We usually come here for beers, but we actually got dinner for once as well. I think the big call out for us were the Chili Rubbed Chicken Wings. They were tasty and very crispy. Based on other reviews the brunch here seems to be good as well so I will definitely try that out next time!
Charles C — Google review
The burger! Wow. Was not expecting it to be so good. Cooked to order! Cooked to order! Fries were also very good. Great beer selections. Sorry no pics of the burger cause I ate so fast. Get the burger
Gavan V — Google review
It's one of the last remaining historic pubs in Cambridge. It's still small and tight space in there but they still host live bands more than most other pubs in the area. I've actually never tried the food though I've been going there for over 30 years...
Nicolai C — Google review
We ordered the waffles, pressed cuban samdwhich and the blackened catfish. As a side we got home fries and grits. The blackened catfish was very good as were the home fries. It did take a very long time to get our food which is why I gave a three for service.

Cocktail bar
Brick & Mortar is a hidden gem located above Central Kitchen in Cambridge, offering an impressive array of creative drinks crafted by skilled mixologists. The sleek and modern space exudes a speakeasy vibe, making it one of the coolest places to enjoy a drink in the area. The small but well-curated cocktail menu complements the dark and stylish ambiance, creating an inviting loft party atmosphere.
Extremely cozy ambiance in your classic dark lighting interior with lots of exposed brickwork and music playing at just the right volume. Service was excellent and two of my party enjoyed a couple of very well made cocktails but on this visit I opted for a can of beer . Prices were about right for the quality of the cocktails but a little steep for a can of beer . Would definitely visit again when I have more time to stay later and get a little more relaxed.
Scouser1965 — Google review
I had heard good things about Brick and Mortar, and now I know why! The drinks were delicious as was the food. I'd definitely come back. I got the pussycat drink ($17) which was delightfully sweet and fruity. The anchovy toast ($13) had a really nice green butter on the bread, and a perfect mix of olives, peppers, and anchovy -- a really nice combo. I also really liked the "pizza" ($16) which had a lot of perfectly tangy-seasoned arugula, prosciutto, some cheese, and crispy chewy bread. The deviled eggs ($11) also had a nice horseradish kick to them, and the bacon wrapped dates ($11) were also good, but I liked the anchovy toast and pizza better. I'd absolutely come back!
Gloria H — Google review
Brick & Mortar offer all the ingredients for a great date night. The drinks were fantastic and the lighting was romantic. Just know that there aren't a ton of food options, but personally that did not bother me. I would say that this would be a great place to start or end your night.
Jayson — Google review
Had an amazing time tonight, I am so happy my friend recommended us visiting this establishment. The atmosphere was welcoming, the music choices were spot on and I cannot emphasize my appreciation for the staff. Our server Nicholas (also a bartender) made our time at brick and mortar so special and was extremely attentive. In my humble opinion he not only deserves the world but also recognition (don’t know how much he is being paid but double it and everyone should tip him please) for his ability to make the night special and fun. The potato chips were delicious and crunchy. The Mexican radio had me hooked, and was extremely smooth. Would come again, and recommend it to others!
Ipanema M — Google review
My favorite place to people watch! apart from that they have nice cocktails and the vibe is secret/exclusive! should mention the staff here are real warm and welcoming!
Pegah F — Google review
Such a cool spot. It's a speakeasy and I just found out the old Chef from Nosh & Grog in Canton is here now Chef Daniel and I can't wait for his creativity and delicious food to come out. Definitely making this my new spot. Great atmosphere, great food (small plates) and awesome drinks.
Jax C — Google review
Brick and Mortar is a fantastic speakeasy tucked away in Central Square—so hidden, I almost didn’t find it the first time, which honestly just added to the charm. I used to spend more time in the area, but even now that I’m there less often, I think it’s worth making the trip back just for this place. The vibe is fun and low-key, and it’s one of those spots that really sticks with you. Definitely a hidden gem worth checking out.
Shahnawaz S — Google review
What a cool place! Not quite a speakeasy, but definitely gives off that "secret spot" vibe. The "community seating" encourages guests to strike up a conversation with their neighbors and get to know someone new, but the dark, intimate atmosphere gives you equal freedom to imagine you have the whole place to yourself. It is a subtle triumph of interior design to make a small crowded space feel both private and shared at the same time. The sweeping, solid copper bar is beautiful on its own, but there are lots of nooks and small, artistic touches that create an overall mysterious, romantic ambiance that we loved. It would be sad if a place as well-designed as this didn't have an equally brilliant menu, but Brick & Mortar does NOT disappoint! Inventive, complex cocktails evolve in the glass. This is a great place for an aspiring mixologist (like myself) to come for inspiration, and to spend time trying to deconstruct the alchemy of the experience. The staff is also top notch. We came on a Thursday evening to have a cocktail before heading down the street to Asmara for an Eritrean feast (also highly recommended). It was so good, we decided to come back later the same night for a night cap. Not only did the staff remember us and welcome us back, but when we moved from the wall where we were standing and waiting for a seat to the bar, the bartender already knew who we were and which drinks we'd ordered. It's maybe a little thing, but I appreciate knowing there's a team of people working together, communicating to create a pleasant experience for their guests. This is the kind of place that makes people like me fantasize about opening up my own bar someday. 😎 They create a wonderful experience and make it seem effortless. Highly recommended!!!

Irish pub

Fast food restaurant
Pub
The Druid is a classic Irish pub located in Inman Square, offering a friendly atmosphere and delicious pub food. The menu features legendary dishes like the Fish and Chips made with fresh cod, homemade tartar sauce, and hand-cut fries. Other favorites include the traditional Shepherds Pie and Oxtail Soup during colder months. Visitors can enjoy Irish trad sessions on Saturday afternoons or Tuesday nights while savoring Guinness Stout at the bar.
Best fish and chips I have ever had! This place is a gem. The decor is eclectic, tables are small, and there was a live band playing Irish music. When we go back to the Boston area we will definitely go back to the Druid.

The Druid is everything you want in a classic neighborhood pub—warm, a little worn-in, and buzzing with charm. The Guinness is poured right, the live music brings the place to life, and the Irish breakfast is solid fuel for the soul. Service is friendly, though it can get a little hectic when the place fills up (which it often does). It’s not trying to be fancy, and that’s exactly its magic. One star off only because seating can be tight and the wait can stretch, but once you’re in, it’s easy to lose track of time. A true Cambridge staple.

Seafood stew, fish and chips, and mussels. The brown bread is 100% perfect. A couple of Smithwicks, live music in front, what a way to take the afternoon/evening! Raising a glass to my old friend Dan Sheridan, rest in peace.

This place has been on my list for a long time. I was not disappointed. The Irish stew and seafood stew were amazing. Also had the best Guinness pint since Dublin. Jackie our server was super good. What a great place.

Visiting from out of town and this is genuinely the best restaurant I have ever been to. I randomly picked this after seeing their shepard’s pie pictures and knew i just had to come here. First off the atmosphere is incredible, it is a cozy Irish Pub with the best wait staff. Our server was always on top of everything and the food came out at a great pace. Best fries and curry sauce to dip them in, the oysters were SO fresh and delicious, the beef stew and shepherds pie left us absolutely speechless. I cannot say more great things about this place!! Lastly, the best part, their Guinness has the absolute most perfect pour. by the time we were finishing up, they had live music which made the entire experience even better. I would fly back just to watch here again.

The best fish and chips I have ever had! Busy local eatery with great, friendly service. Great for a beer and more than solid pub fare. I fish was lightly breaded and the fries were probably the best I’ve ever had.

Solid Irish bar with great food and awesome pours of Guinness. Celtic music every Saturday. Gets crowded but overall one of the better Irish pubs in Greater Boston.
Christian G — Google review
The bar is cute and food is okay but the service is pretty tragic. I've been there three times now and the service is unfriendly and gives the sense that they'd prefer if you didn't come to their bar. And it's not just me. All the people I know that have gone there as first timers and not as a "regular" have been treated the same. I'd suggest that if you're trying to find a bar to go for welcoming service and a nice atmosphere, you look elsewhere. They only seem to care about regulars. And that's fine, but if you're not a regular it's best to avoid.

Live music venue
Concert hall
The Sinclair, established in 2013, is a vibrant gastropub and music venue located in Harvard Square. This female-owned establishment offers New American cuisine with an open kitchen and a patio for outdoor dining. It's not just a bar; it's a hub for indie rock and a popular spot for students to hang out. The atmosphere is far from pretentious, providing an inviting environment for patrons of legal drinking age to enjoy live acts and delicious food and drinks.
Awesome venue. Intimate setting with a cool balcony that ends at about 3 row maybe 10 ft above the stage. Really cool set up. Brick floors, don't get as sticky as straight concrete. Drink access directly to stage left. No barricade so you can get right up to the stage. Staff was solid, knew their stuff and had no mistakes on a busy Saturday night. Can't wait to go back.
Dan H — Google review
What an amazing venue, and a memorable night! I never had an easier access to a live concert venue like the Sinclair. I parked about 15 minutes away in Cambridge and had a lovely walk there, no waiting in line, scanned my ticket and minutes after I was in the front row. I came by for a post-rock evening with Glacier (no happy music!) and Pelican. Epic music, a very pleasant environment even though it was crowded and in the middle of summer. I definitely recommend this place! Lots of dinning options open until late in the area compliment this as an amazing Cambridge experience.

Fun place huge was chill just wish it was a bigger space but bands were badass sleep theory was amazing live
Stormie B — Google review
This venue is decent, and a solid three stars. However, the reason I gave them five stars is because of the down to earth nature of their employees…namely, Javier and Erik, who greeted us at the door. It was my first time at The Sinclair and I was there to see whatever the heck Kyle Mooney was up to. You have to judge a place by your first impression and as the literal gatekeepers of the place Javier and Erik were very exacting, kind, and generous. These two need a hefty retention bonus or a substantial promotion.
Sim T — Google review
They literally pat you down old school and even looked in people's wallets. Like what weapon fits in a billfold? The ceiling is absolutely disgusting, its literally coated in a thick layer of grossness. I can't imagine the duct work😱. However the venue itself is super adorable and fun. The staff is kind just a Lil overboard.
Tobi L — Google review
We love this place!!!! We have been here a handful of times. The setup is pretty good. Don't trip on the couple of stairs going up onto the floor. If you are looking to go upstairs to watch your show, then turn right and walk pat the soundbooth and the stairs are right there. My only complaint is they were out of the IPA that they had. Not a huge deal honestly. I feel that every venue should have atleast 2 IPA's to choose from. The staff was wicked friendly!!!!!!! For parking there is street parking(good luck with that), but there is a lot directly across the street. Not a huge lot. But if u get there early enough you should be good. Was $28 for the night. If you get there early enough to go out to eat. There are plenty of places to grab some dinner. HAVE FUN!!!!!
Robert R — Google review
My wife and I saw Andrew Belle, and the venue is great. It's mostly standing room only. They accommodated my wife and I because we were older with chairs on a balcony overlooking the stage. They're very strict on drivers liscences to get in. They carded me, and if I didn't have my license, I would have been refused entry. ( Im 63 and my wife's 60) As I say, common sense thrown out the windows nowadays. But, the staff was great otherwise. Full bar. My wife is an Andrew Belle dan and loved the show. There's parking garages around there, and we had no problem getting at spot at a flat rate of 17.00 after 5.00 p.m. Overall, it was an excellent experience.
Mark W — Google review
This place is alright. The venue itself is small and homey, and the room is small enough for every spot in the room to be fairly close to the stage, which is a refreshing change from large venues. The downside is that they exclusively sell tickets through AXS, which is a scammy company. I paid for a “fast pass” which supposedly either let me cut the line or use a separate entrance, but that wasn’t offered when I went. AXS has a strict no refunds policy even though I didn’t get what I paid for. The staff at the venue were pretty apologetic about it, but if the venue doesn’t help to stop the practice, then they are complacent with the scam.

Tapas restaurant

Pagu is a unique dining spot in Central Square, Cambridge that combines Japanese and Spanish influences with a touch of French bakery. The chef-owner Tracy Chang's background includes working at a Michelin three-star restaurant in San Sebastian, which is reflected in the menu featuring acorn-fed Aljomar jamon iberico and Pan con Tamateas.
Amazing experience! My colleagues and I saw the interior and decided to try. We were all blown away by amazing flavours and we all left chatting about our favourite dishes (pork belly bao was great). The space is beautiful, the service is very friendly, knowledgable and our glasses were never left empty. We had a great time!
Ula — Google review
We were really excited to try this spot in Cambridge for its unique Japanese-Spanish fusion, but unfortunately, the food did not live up to our expectations with poor execution. Many components on each dish were either cold, overly chewy, or overcooked. That said, we did enjoy their innovative drinks menu and desserts, and would recommend this place for drinks!
Claire — Google review
We had an amazing dinner at Pagu! We ordered a spread to share — hamachi crudo, cod fritters, patatas bravas, crab curry noodles, oyster bao, crispy pork bao, and finished with the chocolate cake and sangria. Every single dish was excellent — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The small plates made it easy to try a little bit of everything, and nothing disappointed. The crab curry noodles were rich and fragrant, the baos were perfectly soft with generous fillings, and the chocolate cake was the perfect ending. Great food, great service, and a lively atmosphere — absolutely worth a visit.
Alexis S — Google review
Food overall was okay at best. The best tapas were the carrots and fish crudo. Overall flavor for most of the tapas was on the bland side. The Spanish ham was stiff and not worth the cost for the amount. What you get is not worth what you pay for in terms of quality and quantity of food.

I had many different experiences at pagu: here is my over all review: Classes: I highly recommend checking out pagus classes online. I have had 8 different type of classes at pagu, a noodle making class, tea tasting, and others. The experience has always been top notch and well worth the money. I’m always so full after classes and always have something to bring home. Private events: I have attended several private events at pagu and the food is probably the best food I have had at any of those events. Usually at an event the food is over cooked or lack of imagination or variety. But the food and drinks at pagu are always excellent and has many vegan and gluten free options. The food are fresh and meat and seafood are always cooked perfectly. Catering event: I had several private events where I used pagu as our catering partner and they are so easy to work with and always on time. And they have options where you can get things that’s pre cooked or half cooked for you to cook at home. Dine in: pagu probably has some of the most innovative and delicious drinks in Boston. I really love Thai kombucha series. Food portion can be in a smaller sides which is inline with the tapa style. The food is light which I enjoy. I often found food in a lot places on the east coast has a really heavy hand with salt and seasoning which to me really is unpleasant. I would say the seasoning at pagu is more west coast which is light and refreshing which I really enjoy.
Lijia W — Google review
Hard to judge when the service is this good! The staff is wonderfully friendly and kind, making the experience warm and welcoming. The food, however, was just OK for the price — I expected more. The croquettes were overcooked, the ramen broth lacked depth, and the pork in the ramen wasn’t as tender as I’d hoped. On the bright side, the pork belly bao was excellent. Overall: OK food, amazing staff. I would come back.

We absolutely loved having our wedding at Pagu! From the start, the chef and owner Tracy was incredibly responsive and she got back to us right away when we inquired about hosting our wedding at the restaurant. She shared a detailed event order with sample dishes and estimated charges, which really helped us get the ball rolling with our planning. When we were able to visit Boston (we're based out of state), Tracy personally gave us our initial walkthrough. The combination of the restaurant’s cozy interior and beautiful, spacious outdoor patio made Pagu the perfect venue for our 100-guest celebration. One of the biggest reasons we wanted a restaurant wedding was the food, and Pagu absolutely delivered! Amanda and Chris T. took great care of us during our food and drink tastings, and everything was truly fantastic. The string beans, chicken katsu, miso cod, and wagyu beef were standout dishes. Our guests couldn’t stop raving about them! Tracy’s custom hot honey biscuits were also a huge hit as a late-night snack, and both the double chocolate and strawberry cakes were delicious crowd-pleasers. Like many couples, we barely had time to eat during the whirlwind of the day, but we were so happy that Pagu prepared a to-go bag of all of our food and it was all still incredibly delicious, even the next day! As the big day approached, the team answered all our questions promptly and worked closely with us to rearrange the table layout so everyone could be seated comfortably. We held our rehearsal at the venue the day before, and Amanda was incredibly helpful in coordinating everyone and making sure we all felt confident and prepared for the ceremony. The Pagu team also went above and beyond to accommodate our last-minute requests (including pickleback shots and matcha cookie favors), which was deeply appreciated. Everything went off without a hitch on the actual wedding day. The transitions between ceremony, cocktail hour, and dinner were all totally seamless, thanks to the coordination of Amanda, Chris, and Winson; it was clear that they are all seasoned pros at running a wedding, which helped us relax and enjoy the day worry-free! We can’t recommend Pagu highly enough for a wedding or special event! The food, the space, and, most importantly, the people made our day unforgettable and exceeded all expectations. We were incredibly impressed with the whole team throughout the entire process. There were so many thoughtful touches and interactions that happened throughout the planning and on the day itself. If you're considering a restaurant wedding, you won’t regret choosing Pagu!!

Cocktail bar
Bar
Backbar is a trendy and laid-back haunt located in Somerville's Union Square. Tucked away behind Field & Vine, this speakeasy offers a casual atmosphere with street art-adorned walls and kitschy decorations. The bar serves up creative cocktails like the Golden Eagle, made with tequila, mezcal, orange, lime, and cinnamon.
Best Cocktail Lineup I’ve seen in Greater Boston. Dropped by on a weekday around 8pm. Place was packed, with all bar seats and high tops taken, but thankfully no wait. The vibes were classic Somerville speakeasy: slightly dorky decor, low-key servers, and an unpretentious atmosphere that keeps things fun and approachable. Every cocktail here was $17 flat, no matter the customization, and nothing tasted like filler. We tried six, and all had a clear point of view. Only miss was the Fiji Mermaid (bonito flake infusion was…a choice), but everything else ranged from impressive to absolutely memorable. Two of our favorites were Nang Tani and Banana Bread Flip. The former had a miso-forward start that faded into coconut-banana sweetness. A surprisingly elegant balance of sweet and umami. We then asked our server for something in the same lane, and he came up with this custom creation inspired by banana bread and salty walnuts. It had a bit of baking soda sharpness at first, but it mellowed into a smooth, nostalgic sweetness. We also tried the Dragons Love Apple Pie, Kappa, and The Banshee. For the first one, our server came over with a blowtorch and an oakwood plate, smoking the glass tableside. The result was a lingering smokiness that layered beautifully over the spiced apple notes. The Banshee combined mushroom and berry, though it leaned more into the berry side (thankfully). It had just enough earthy depth without veering into full-on forest floor. Kappa was essentially a frozen melon cocktail with the faintest whisper of cucumber—bright, refreshing, and super clean. Just note that they don’t take reservations unless you’re doing one of their cocktail classes, and I’ve heard the wait on weekends can get long. But honestly, if you’re looking for the best cocktails in the GBA, it’s worth the wait.
Jea K — Google review
Backbar is my absolute favorite craft cocktail spot in the Boston area. We come here about once a month - and I love that the cocktail menu changes frequently, with fun, creative themes. The service is always fantastic and the drinks are incredible. The atmosphere is fun and lively, lots of geeky little details and decorations. It does get pretty busy even on school nights, and they don’t take reservations so there have been times when the wait has been too long for us to stick around. (Photos are from multiple different visits with different menus)
Millie M — Google review
Overall it’s a good cocktail bar, definitely far from the top tier bars but the cocktails were pretty good - a borderline 5 star experience all in all. The waiting time on a Friday night was reasonable - around 15 mins. The atmosphere and interior were not as breathtaking in my opinion. It felt like it was designed 20 years ago. The staff were reasonably friendly and welcoming. The ID is a must to enter. Fruits of My Labour cocktail was good - even though it reads light it still had a good amount of alcohol. The flavour wasn’t super sophisticated and cinnamon probably dominated but still there was a bit of interesting flavour next to it. Nothing mind blowing but nice. The Lips of an Angel was also nice but maybe slightly less interesting - the orange flavour dominated but still a good one. Aquarium jazz was a seasonal cocktail and probably it was the best one I’ve tried that evening and a really great smoked whiskey base with some stuff on top to balance. Funeral was not as good - the anise flavour and the absinthe dominated it and it did not match my taste at all. Fortunately it was the only disappointment during the night. They don’t have a lot of food options, mainly a few snacks. The nuts were actually walnuts but the walnut taste was not as prominent (a good thing for me) as the nuts were covered in syrup or something like that. Good overall but I wouldn’t try them again as they interfered with cocktail flavour because of some leftover wax-like film in my mouth. I can recommend this spot if you are not able to book any top notch bars in Boston which require bookings in advance. They also include mandatory 20% tip into the bill.

Such a unique and fun atmosphere for the nerds. The drinks were fun and unique, I came during chartreuse week and loved the drinks on the menu. Look at Dalek joining us! Not much food options only snacks. Don’t come hungry.

Incredible place. There was a bit of a line as the place is limited in seating space but it was worth the wait. We had a blast, specially trusting the bartenders with making us drinks based on flavors we like. Every drink was 100% creativity and offmenu and delicious everything. Will come back every time Im in Boston.

We were in Boston for a few days and wanted to go to a speakeasy bar. We asked bartender just to make us a drink and told them ingredients and flavor we like and O.M.G it was spot on! So so good! If you are looking for different cocktails go here, you wont be disappointed! Atmosphere is fun.
Natalia K — Google review
Drinks were okay, some were good and others were average. Menu gets updated often which is nice. However - I must give 0 star to the service. First of all, very strange attitude of the bartender and the manager. The bartender was not even competent of having a normal conversation with customers. He gave attitude for no reason, cut my friend off, and called his manager immediately during a normall conversation. Is he on something??????? The manager was also overly protective of the bartender which we really expected him to be objective. There was no conversation between the bartender and the manager so we had to spend time explaining why he was called, but he did not handle the situation well enough either. Additionally, they forced to charge 20% tip on all drinks.
Nora Z — Google review
Drinks are good, rotating selection and creative. Management and servers need to be better trained in hospitality. You can not be arrogant and dismissive of your clients just because you’re a popular bar. I’d love to have a great bar to recommend in Boston, and this place has potential as long as they fix their customer service.

Caribbean restaurant
Latin American restaurant
La Fabrica is a trendy spot that seamlessly transitions from a Latin American dining experience during the day to a lively nightclub at night. The restaurant offers Spanish Caribbean cuisine such as ceviche and mofongo, along with fruity cocktails and Brazilian jazz music. On Wednesdays, guests can enjoy dance lessons in partnership with Bachata Room, followed by a late-night party. The venue features live Latin music and DJ sets, making it a popular spot for social dancing on Bachata nights.
Celebration for party of 9. Heard about La Fabrica Central with good Caribbean food and nightclub in the back of the restaurant. Off street parking. Walked in to restaurant and greeted by the maitre d, friendly, courteous and professional. Escorted us to our table which was a high table in the front of the restaurant in front of the bar and live band. Beautifully decorated, clean and spacious. Music in the air and a bit loud but not intolerable. Restrooms were super clean and also spacious. Service was excellent by the waitstaff. Especially our waitress, Beverly who was awesome, attentive, polite, courteous and professional. Took our orders for drinks, appetizers and entrees. Great menu! Talking about a taste of the Caribbean, all our foods were prepared, cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious. Authentic Caribbean. We ordered the ceviche mixto, tostones, chicharrón, yuca mofonguitos, churrasco, maduros, passion fruit salmon, croquetasde yuca, ropa vieja mofongo and pork. All served together in a timely manner. The drinks were Okay. They were a little inconsistent depending on who was making them. Music was excellent by the live band. Good way to work off all the food. Highly recommend. Will definitely return to try the other items on the menu and do some dancing💃🏻🕺🏻Or just eat! If you want to stay for the nightclub, it opens around 11:00 PM. A nice evening out or date night.

We ordered the Lomo Saltado, ceviche, one beef empanada, one chicken empanada, and the maduros (sweet plantains). The meat was tender and flavorful, the empanadas were satisfying, and the ceviche was decent—nothing extraordinary. But the real standout was the sweet plantains: incredibly soft, perfectly caramelized, and melt-in-your-mouth sweet. They truly stole the show. While the food was enjoyable, it’s definitely on the pricey side. That said, dining in comes with perks—you can enjoy live music at no extra cost and receive a $5 discount for access to the party room in the back. Drinks were around $14–$15. I had an espresso martini during dinner, which was spot-on in flavor. We followed it up with mules—not very strong, but just right to keep the energy up. Overall, a great spot to dance and enjoy a Latin night in Cambridge!

Great atmosphere, clean, well designed dinning area and bar. The food was delicious, and authentic. It’s latin fusion. Good prices and varied menu. Delicious Caribbean cocktails. Our server Beverly was excellent, friendly, professional, and her recommendations really hit. The bar manager Was very friendly and professional. He helped us security table for leaving giving him they had live music. Food is very delicious to have dinner but if you also want to make it a night out they have great options for live music, DJs and dancing. The dancing is in a separate area. It’s not the same place where you dine. I highly recommend this place specially having a latin background. The atmosphere was good for date night or a business meeting. Depending of the time.

We got there about half an hour early but they were still able to seat us. Great service, very friendly staff. Overall, very very tasty food. The whole red snapper was perfectly crisped and the chicharron was crunchy where it needed to be without breaking your teeth, and melted in your mouth everywhere else. The sangria was the best I've had, sweet and tangy and bubbly. The only issue I had was with the sauces. It didn't feel like any of them belonged with the dishes they were served with. But that's minor thing in my book. The food was good enough to enjoy without sauce, too.

My friends surprised me by taking me to 'La Fabrica' to celebrate my birthday, and what an unforgettable experience it was! From the moment we walked in, the vibrant atmosphere set the tone for an amazing night. I was blown away by the incredible food—every dish was bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. To make the night even more special, the waitstaff went the extra mile by singing a lively birthday song for me, making me feel truly celebrated. After our delicious meal, we stuck around to soak in the live music, which created the perfect energy for dancing and enjoying a few drinks with friends. The entertainment, ambiance, and outstanding service combined to make the whole evening truly magical. If you're looking for a spot that offers great food, fantastic music, and a fun, welcoming environment, I highly recommend 'La Fabrica.' It’s the kind of place that turns any night into a cherished memory!

Came to this quaint Caribbean restaurant after a concert of mine got cancelled in Boston, and was looking forward to their diverse selection of Latin American foods. I had a great time at this place. My friend and I went a little early so we had the whole dining room to ourselves and we stayed there for hours since the vibe was nice and the music was good and people start to file in and it looks like the dining room had completely filled up at the end of our dinner. The food was amazing and the drinks were awesome too. I especially loved the guava mock tail. Guava anything is amazing but this was particularly good. Highly recommend!

Bar
Trina's Starlite Lounge is a hip and retro spot in Somerville, just north of Boston, offering American comfort food and unique cocktails. The ambiance is effortlessly cool with dim lighting, vintage decor, and a touch of kitsch. This dive bar serves up southern-inspired comfort food like chicken & waffles and cornbread alongside thoughtful cocktails such as the Shaddock and Green Goblin. On Sundays and Mondays, they offer an affordable brunch featuring specialty sandwiches and large plates.
Perfect food, staff, drinks, atmosphere, vibe- perfect everything. One of the rare places in Boston where you feel fully comfortable and like you can enjoy yourself. That they now offer a HOT DOG TOWER truly raises them above 5/5 stars. Their staff is always so kind and easy to talk with- highly recommend!

What a great surprise!! From the outside not much to look at-inside, a busy crowded restaurant and bar. A fancy-dive bar with a diner feel. We had a great time, service was great and the French fries are to die for!!! The chick Caesar sandwich was super tasty. We will be back.

Amazing food. It looks like a place you scurry by quickly on the road, but once you’re inside it is a whole new experience. We had the corn dog, tater tots, Mac & Cheese, and corn bread and they were great. Food brought past us to other tables (hot dog tower, sloppy joes) smelled just as good.

I’ve been here several times and I always enjoy myself. My personal favorites are the Starlite-Style Dog, Fried Chicken, and the Rockin’ Chair cocktail served cold. If you do have a choice on seating and it’s not boiling or freezing outside, the patio/outdoor seating is the place to be. Came back for brunch and it was delicious. Would recommend the blueberry and cheesecake pop-tart!

Trina's was amazing! Our daughter and her fiancé decided on a last minute elopement, and a small dinner at Trina's Starlite Lounge after the wedding. The management and staff were so accommodating and wonderful with us! All the food was good, had the fried chicken and it was delicious. Great selection of specialty hot dogs. The real stars were the sweet dishes: the cornbread with honey butter and the hush puppies with maple butter dipping sauce. Very sweet yet savory and indulgent. The Phoenix Landing is a versatile establishment that combines the atmosphere of an Irish pub with the energy of a nightclub. By day, it serves as a full-service Irish pub offering modern Irish cuisine and attracting a lively soccer crowd. At night, it transforms into an old-school dance spot with DJs spinning various genres such as hip-hop, reggae, house, techno, new wave, and dubstep.
What a great bar! We went yesterday, hoping to find a fun and relaxing place where we could watch the Celtics game. The staff was welcoming, attentive and friendly. We didn’t get any pressure to move along. I wanted a light snack and they were willing to modify the hummus dish. This is a great place to relax and enjoy.

When in BOSTON USA and LFC are playing - GO GO GO. Great atmosphere, the Guinness tap never stops pouring. When very busy - get your order in quick and trust they don't lose your details. Overall brilliant.

Had such a fun night here—great music, cheap drinks, and the kind of energy that makes you want to dance. My friend and I ended up chatting with a couple of guys we met in Boston who showed us this spot to check out the Cambridge scene. We danced, laughed, and tried to talk over the music (kind of worked). Definitely one of those spontaneous nights that turns into a core memory.

It was an interesting experience. As a party of three ordering a little food and a couple of drinks, why would we automatically be charged a 20% gratuity on the check? Tipping 20% is usually no problem for me, but to be forced to do so without warning tells me maybe the owners aren’t taking care of their staff the way they should be.

I had a great time on a random Thursday night for the ELEMENTS DNB show. We must protect places like this that cultivate the electronic music culture. Heard the vibe is different on the weekends. But great place for a drink indeed.

Took me sometime to write this because of how much I loved coming to this place but now walking past it gives me the ick. I was out with my cousin a few Mondays ago -30th June(who was visiting Boston) for the first time and was showing her all of my fav places. I took her to Phoenix landing. For some context- I’ve almost quit drinking since March and I had not touched alcohol that day. My cousin had 1 drink. We re 30 year old women who have full time jobs and we were just going home. I went to Phoenix Landing and I asked for lemon drop shots for her and my friends because that was the first drink I tried when I moved to Boston in 2023. I was giving my cousin a walk down the memory lane. The bartended said “ we cannot serve you alcohol.” And I asked why. She said “you all are very drunk”. And I asked how did you determine that. And she said “you all are very loud”. And obviously that’s one thing we Indians hear the most from racist white Americans. But I still asked very patiently - “how did you determine that were drunk? Do we have slurred speech? Did you measure our breath? Did you do a breath analyser test? Like how is “being loud” an indicator for drunk”. So suddenly her other saviour white bartender came and asked us to leave because I was being aggressive. Idk what I did that escalated it. It was totally uncalled for. If you’re a person of color- avoid going to this racist place. Some of my fav people host events here for infra and other collectives but just avoid this racist place. and I really hope that white spineless bartender realizes what she did. Funny part is that other girls (obviously white) were served alcohol - even though they were louder than us - and obviously more drunk. Shame on you guys!!!

Pan-Asian restaurant
Tiki bar
Wusong Tiki Bar is the brainchild of Jason Doo, who drew inspiration from his parents' Chinese/American restaurant and transformed it into a vibrant Polynesian paradise. The bar's decor exudes tropical vibes, offering an updated take on classic cocktails like Zombies, Painkillers, and mai tais.
There was nothing I didn't love about this restaurant. The kitchy esthetic was everything. The cocktails were inventive and the glassware was fun and on theme. Went with a friend and it was perfect for a girls night. 2 cocktails and tapas in Boston for a very reasonable price. Plus, the atmosphere ... there's a jungle vibe with skull lamps and a tiger in a fez. The joy was off the charts!

I really wanted to like this place more than I did. I brought my partner who is from Hong Kong and we were really excited to try this Chinese American pan-Asian place. I love the tiki concept and I had fun explaining it to him. We loved all the drinks and the tiki decor (I absolutely fell in love with the mugs). The food was just okay. Standouts from our order were the Brussels sprouts and the firecracker shrimp. Huli Huli beef was average - with a sort of fuzzy texture outside that I didn’t love. Sambal fries were whatever (partner insisted on getting these though I sort of thought they would just be OK). Had high hopes for the rice, which was packed with all kinds of good “stuff” inside - pork floss, char siu, scallions, etc etc, BUT we agreed that it was sort of too wet, fried rice should be rather dry and each piece should retain its separateness from the other rice kernels and maintain maximum wok hei/wok smokiness. Chicken bao was middling - it was just a fried chicken katsu with a slathering of a rather sweet sauce. I know the whole slathering of sweet sauce is a feature (not a bug) of American Chinese cuisine but I was expecting more Sichuan flavors perhaps. The coconut bread pudding was out of this world good, though. I’d definitely come back for drinks and the bits of the menu that I did like. I also want to try other parts of the menu, like the Dan Dan noodles and the crab rangoons, and that enticing looking Zombie cocktail. 3.5 - 4, love the vision but food needs a little work. My partner really liked the food (he really enjoyed the takeout-box dishware) and overall we thought the concept was super fun!

Our very first dinner in Boston was such a memorable experience! My friends and I were looking for a good spot, and we ended up in a restaurant that instantly made us feel like we were on vacation in Hawaii or the Bahamas. The vibe was tropical and fun, with a spacious layout that had both a first and second floor. We chose to sit upstairs, which gave us a nice view of the lively atmosphere. The restaurant was not only big but also had a little shop area where they sold mugs, tumblers, and other fun items, it added to the charm. Of course, the real highlight was the food. We tried Wusong Pupu Platter, Sweet Chili Brussels, Chicken Satay, and the non alcoholic cocktails are painkiller, mango pina colada, and saturn, it did not disappoint. The flavors were fresh, delicious, and so worth it. What made the evening even better was the overall energy, everyone was excited, happy, and enjoying themselves. Thank you so much the server even if I don’t remember her name. She is the one who gave the good deal for the appetizer and drinks! It wasn’t just about eating, it felt like part of the Boston experience. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone visiting the city. It’s not just dinner, it’s a destination.

Toad is a snug neighborhood hideaway in Porter Square that draws a hipster crowd with its suds, burgers, and nightly live music. Despite its small size, the bar offers reliably good live music without a cover charge. The intimate space often sees performers spilling off the tiny stage into the audience, creating a warm and lively atmosphere. The joint features various music genres from Americana to rock to folk, attracting competent regional talent and even tribute bands.

What a gem of a place. I was coming back to his place at least after 8 years and I want to say I forgot how good it was and still is. Club Passim, located in the heart of Harvard Square in Cambridge, is an intimate and iconic folk-music club that has been a launching pad for big names like Joan Baez and Bob Dylan. The venue hosts a variety of artists, from established legends to up-and-coming talents. In addition to live concerts, Club Passim also offers music school and cultural exchange programs, making it a vital part of Boston's music scene.
Walked by this venue so many times and finally got to experience it last night. Very quaint setting! Tables are very close to one another and seating is tight. We did not eat here but the food looked great. Extensive drink menu with plenty of non alcoholic choices too. Very fair pricing! Very friendly volunteer run hosts! So great to have this establishment so close by!

Saw Christine Lavin here 1/31/2025. Had a great time! Came when doors opened and had a delightful dinner, gluten-free. My daughter also enjoyed her (gluten) dinner. The concert was fantastic. The place is VERY cozy (a nice term for shoulder-to-shoulder) but everyone has a seat. The price for reserved seats is the same price as general admission. We had general admission and had a great view of the stage. You have to buy tickets fast as there are only about 75 seats. The restroom is a bit rough, not fancy at all. Overall, I highly recommend seeing a concert here. You won't regret it. Oh, and it's an easy walk from the Harvard Red Line station. As far as I can tell, it is NOT handicap accessible. I think it would be tough even on crutches; you have to navigate steep stairs to enter.

Went for dinner and a show. They were out of all draft beers. Got a salad and black bean burger. The salad was delicious, the burger was eh... BUT the reason you come to Passim is the music. We saw Brother Brothers and loved it. They even brought a special guest on stage. Can't wait to go back to hear more music.

Legendary folk venue. The place is intimate, and by that I mean tiny! Maybe 100 people in a room the size of a small garage? They really seat you close so be prepared to get to know your neighbors. Food us pretty good too.
Harold K — Google review
Incredible music selection year round for all price points! Food is good and healthy options are available, too. Personally, I enjoyed a delicious butternut squash salad with feta cheese with a side of meat that was extremely satisfying. Seating is a bit tight but allows for some sort of "communal table" that proved to be a good solution if you're also trying to meet new people, too. It also keeps the place organized and neat, but prevents from dancing should the music be appropriate for it. It's a must if you wish to listen to some good live music and venture in an almost historic music venue!!

Middlesex Lounge is a vibrant and lively lounge located near Central Square in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Since 2004, it has been a hub for electronic dance music, featuring underground DJs spinning eclectic beats. The venue offers a DIY feel with live indie band performances and an abundance of DJ nights, including the popular techno event Make It New.
Hi Chris, just wanted to say thank you again so much for hosting us on Saturday. Your venue is such a beautiful little spot. The club was lovely and clean and all set up when we got there. The staff were awesome, Korey (manager) and Natasha (bartender) are stars. And the DJs were fantastic. My phone is lighting up with everyone telling me that they had such a good time (we had about 50 to 60 people all told). So you get all the thanks for planning that with us and hosting us! Walked in with some friends and danced danced danced, the music was good enough to catch a vibe. There was enough space on the dance floor to enjoy throwing down even got a lil dance cypher going caught some videos and everything. The venue is rather small but that's ok, makes the experience more casual. I have noticed this is also a very long standing spot in Boston so congrats to them for holding their doors open for so many years giving dancers a place to stop by and get down

The Museum of Science, located in Boston's West End, is a renowned institution featuring interactive exhibits, an IMAX/3-D film theater, and a planetarium. With over 700 exhibits and home to an accredited zoo with over 100 animals, the museum offers educational experiences for children from third grade and up.
The Tesla coils light show was really fun and informative and they have showings throughout the day. It "sparked" a new interest in science for me. Warning: turn your volume down before you watch the Tesla coil videos I attached. 😂 Amazing views of the Charles River. I liked looking at the AI dog. A good portion of the museum is very kid-focused but the paintings and animal/natural history sculptures are fun for all ages. I also liked some information about blood pressure as well as how many calories I need to walk a mile. It was a fun visit!

Fabulous time for families! Purchase tickets in advance, planetarium is a must! This is a classic spot that makes for a quintessential childhood summer day, the duck boats are a fun addition. The Boston Museum of Science is an incredible experience—everything is so cool, inspiring, and thought-provoking. It really pushes you to want to learn more, no matter your age. There’s so much to see and do that my girlfriend and I had to speed-run it since we arrived around 2 PM and they closed at 5. Even then, it was well worth it. The museum was undergoing some renovations during our visit, but it didn’t take away from how amazing the exhibits were. I’d absolutely come back to explore more. Only minor thing to keep in mind: there are a lot of kids running around (as expected in a science museum), so depending on the time and day, it can be a bit chaotic. It’d be awesome if they stayed open later for a more adult-oriented experience, but that’s just a wish—not a complaint. Overall, it’s an amazing place and I’ll definitely be back. Highly recommend it.

Great experience for a family with a toddler. Lots of fun things to look at and manipulate. The workers at the live demonstration and showing off skulls in the river area were great with a little kid - but there's a ton of stuff at the adult level too. Enjoyed it twice in the last year with more we haven't even seen! I would say that the cafeteria is decently priced compared to other local museums/attractions. Delicious falafel burger!

My husband and I had such a wonderful experience at Russell House Tavern! We sat outside and really enjoyed the atmosphere—it was lively but still cozy. Our waiter was incredibly nice, attentive, and made us feel welcome right away. The food was absolutely delicious! We ordered the calamari and the Mushroom & Leek pizza, and both were outstanding—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. We’ll definitely be coming back the next time we’re in Cambridge. Highly recommend!

Stopped by this restaurant in Harvard Square on a Friday evening and was pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere was lively with a great vibe, and they offer both indoor and outdoor seating. Despite it being busy and us not having a reservation, we were seated right away with no wait. Service was friendly and quick throughout our visit. The food was delicious — especially the calamari, burger, and pizza. The steak was just average, but overall this place is a solid option if you’re in Harvard Square and looking for good food in a fun setting.

Russell House Tavern is perfectly situated right in the middle of Harvard Square. The vibe here is great, with a nice two-story layout that feels welcoming and lively. My friend and I sat at the bar and found it to be the perfect spot for a casual meal and drinks. We were greeted nicely and seated right away. Service was very fast—our menus and drinks came almost immediately. The food menu might be small, but it's well-curated and perfect. We ordered a burger and a pizza; both were cooked nicely, delicious, and had great flavors. We even managed to snag a table by the window, which was lovely for people-watching the busy city go by. I definitely recommend this place if you're visiting Cambridge and want to stop for a quality bite.

Solid bar fare right in Harvard Square. Service is friendly. The atmosphere is cozy bar (seemed to have a downstairs area also that wasn’t open). We started with was basically poutine (fries, curds, and gravy). They called Harvard Fries or something. They were scrumptious and bar-salty. We also the grilled cheese, hit chicken sandwich, and a leek and onion pizza. All were prepared solidly. The pizza crust was a bit more hard-crispy than other types of thin crusts I’ve had. The grilled cheese was rich, savory, and definitely heavy on umami. The chicken sandwich was good as well, though the side salad it came with was a bit aggressive on the vinegar. All-in-all, it was a nice meal in a very convenient location.

We had the salmon, a cocktail, and pasta at Russell House Tavern. The salmon was flavorful and the cocktail spot on, though the pasta turned out a bit mushy. Our server was incredibly kind and took it off the bill without hesitation. It was a beautiful night overall—great service, good food, and a warm atmosphere.

From the second I walked up, the hostess was extremely sweet. I sat at the bar and had some of the best service that I have had so far on my Boston/Cambridge trip. Such a great stop for my trip and will return if I’m back in the area!

The MIT Museum in Boston, Massachusetts is a haven for science and technology enthusiasts. The museum showcases a wide array of exhibits including kinetic sculptures, robots, holograms, and interactive installations that aim to bridge the gap between theory and practice. Recently relocated to a new purpose-built space at the heart of MIT's Kendall Square campus, the museum boasts 56,000 square feet of engaging galleries spread across three floors.
I had a fantastic visit to the MIT Museum! It’s such a cool place, blending science, technology, and art in a way that’s both mind-blowing and accessible. The interactive exhibits were a lot of fun, like the AI section where you can spot real versus fake videos or even compose a poem with a computer. The museum’s new space in Kendall Square has a modern, open layout that makes exploring really enjoyable. I also appreciated the historical artifacts, like the Apollo Guidance Computer, which show off MIT’s groundbreaking contributions. I do wish they’d had a free pass for us Harvard fellows too, but it was still well worth the visit! It’s an inspiring spot for anyone curious about innovation, and I’d definitely recommend checking it out!

Amazing science and technology museum! Will definitely inspire you to do high quality research in your area. You can easily spend 2-3 h here. Lot of good information to read if you're interested. Engineering students and graduate students might really enjoy the exhibits. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.
Shaik A — Google review
The MIT Museum felt like a museum made up of the work of graduate students and recent MIT graduates, including work relating to the fields of Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, and Biology. This was alongside interactive installations and some rare, vintage items. There were also more artistic installations, so overall it was quite varied in its offerings. I would say it did not blow me away completely, though I did enjoy several parts of it. It was also a bit small to my liking, just two floors and one of the floors (the 3rd) was around half. Worth a visit nonetheless and it gets you in the MIT engineering and hacking culture but also the wonder of biological discovery and CRISPR.
Raúl F — Google review
Is it terrible of me to say that I miss some of the older exhibits and enjoyed the museum more prior to the renovation? I know that sounds awful! But the small nature of the other museum and some of the exhibits, such as the kinetic machines, were really attractive and fun, and this one seems as if it is somehow more sterile. It also seemed as if the older museum really catered more for inquisitive adults, and this museum had children running all over the place! There are so many museums and exhibits in the city that really cater to children, that it would be wonderful to have a museum that is more suitable for adults. I have children; they are older now, and I’m not anti-children, but the older museum felt more adult – focused. This one also felt like it was singing the praises of MIT more, which is great, that’s why we’re there, but I would love to know what the researchers are up to, without having an interactive exhibit that asked me what I like most about MIT. I really don’t know what I like most about MIT, because I don’t attend MIT. And the exhibit asked me for adjectives to describe MIT. I think that feels more like an assignment for the students and professors, and perhaps that’s the point of this new museum? Perhaps it’s supposed to be a hub for MIT students and professors and also…visitors. Regardless, bring back more exhibits that are interactive/movement based. Again, I’m returning to the kinetic exhibit, but have things that we can really watch and engage in, rather than looking at an object and having the explanation next to it on the wall. Yes, there were a few things to engage in, especially with the AI section, but we can write a collaborative poem with AI at home. I’m wondering how they could make things more interactive and also capture the attention of the adults. I was there with my 22-year-old son, who is a stem guy and is majoring in stem in college, and he just didn’t seem to feel it had a lot to offer either. Also, the last time I was there, I went by the gift shop and bought some periodic table of the elements bags and mugs etc. Now my daughter is a chemist at the Mayo Clinic, I was so excited to run in the gift shop and grab a bunch of chemistry items, and the gift shop instead had lots of kids toys in it. It was fairly disappointing. I would love it to be more Stem related and less about the dehydrated ice cream that you can get when you visit the Smithsonian Museums in DC. Not really even MIT related. Just stuff you’d find in any children’s tech museum gift shop. I did manage to find a chemistry-related glass and a game of chemistry flux. Also, I would’ve loved to have seen some more of their robotics. They have some on display at the museum of science, why could we not watch some of them on display here? Overall, an underwhelming experience. Would hope for more adult and interactive and challenging exhibits in the future, and let’s tilt the gift shop to be things that would be less children- focused as well. This isn’t really a children’s museum, is it? Or perhaps I’m missing the point, and it is supposed to be now.

If you are a MIT student I highly recommend that you visit the Museum at some point. It is highly unqiue and provides a gateway into the MIT way (P.S its free for students!). If you are visiting the area the MIT Museum offers great exhibits that are both timeless and unique to the current state of the world/technology. Great for kids and families!

A waste of time and money for me. So sorry. I thought I'd see real explanations of AI, robotics, etc but instead of that I saw walls of text and unmoving exhibits like old rulers, robotic hand, and circuits. Yes, they could be there but without cutting edge science and real explanations (not looped videos ) it could be so much better. Just not that visual or breakthrough, I guess . And btw, there is a war with 'dangerous white males' throughout texts in the museum. Disappointed.

Cemetery
Sights & Landmarks
Established in 1831, Mount Auburn Cemetery spans 175 acres and is renowned as America's first garden cemetery. Nestled in Cambridge, it was designed not only as a burial ground but also as a Victorian-era tourist attraction. Today, it serves as a public park, arboretum, and wildlife sanctuary boasting over 5,500 trees and plants from around the world.
When running against time needs a pause and a moment to recall all the things you have achieved, sacrificed and missed while doing that, this is the place you come to. The place where the love of your life was buried or even if nobody is here you feel what I am trying to accomplish if I am not with my family anymore. This blurb is just what I felt, when I came here to Mount Auburn Cemetery, right in the heart of Cambridge. A hike, walk and picturesque location to remember forever.
Hritik — Google review
This is probably one of the best kept (not so secret) secrets of greater Boston area! This place is absolutely amazing. While it’s technically a cemetery, it really feels more like a park. There are ponds, gardens and beautiful architecture throughout the 175 Acres of land here. It also boasts a collection of rare trees from all over the world (around 5000 trees in total) and is a huge draw for birders as it has an impressive variety/ diversity of them (due to the extensive ecosystem from all the rare trees I am guessing). I have literally seen countless rare birds here while not even trying to look. You can walk around for hours and not run out of new, beautiful things to see. There is also a tower that one is able to scale to see a pretty sweet 360 panorama of Boston and its surroundings. Now it is still a cemetery, but one where a lot of the graves and crypts are so beautiful you may forget people are buried here. Speaking of buried people, it turns out that Isabella Stewart Gardner (of the Gardner Museum is buried here - among many other famous folks). I can’t stress this enough: if you like beauty, alone time and tranquility, you have to check this place out! Now it is tech

Mount Auburn Cemetery is a hidden gem for a stroll! The serene paths wind through stunning landscapes and historic graves, some dating back to the 1800s. We enjoyed a beautiful sunset as we walked, creating a peaceful and reflective atmosphere. The blend of nature and history makes it a must-visit spot. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a quiet place to walk in the city! 🌅🌳

This was my second visit to Mount Auburn Cemetery. My first time was in the fall, when the colorful leaves made the grounds absolutely beautiful. On this visit, my friend and I climbed to the tower at the top, which offers breathtaking 360-degree views of Cambridge and Boston. When we went, the place was quiet with very few people around - likely because it was a weekday - making it a perfect spot to relax. There is seating at the top where you can rest or even enjoy a picnic while taking in the greenery and scenery. It is a peaceful, scenic place that I highly recommend visiting.

This is a great place to come walk around and enjoy the scenery. I've been coming here for over 45 years and have always remarked on how peaceful Mount Auburn Cemetery can be. With all the different water features, trees and vegetation there is so much to see and observe and not to mention all the wildlife that call this place home. And the groundskeepers keep this place looking great!

Mount Auburn Cemetery is a lovely place to visit. There are some stunning memorials, including a sphinx. But it is also a great place to just walk around and enjoy some nature in the city, away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Beautiful cemetery open to the public with beautiful views from atop Washington Tower. Definitely worth the 10-15 minute hike up to the tower.

This "garden cemetery" is stunning. It functions as a botanical garden, arboretum, and bird sanctuary. There are beautiful paths for walking and a tower that you can climb to enjoy gorgeous views of Boston.

The Harvard Art Museums, the oldest museum at Harvard University, is a combination of the Busch-Reisinger, Fogg, and Arthur M. Sackler Museums. Renzo Piano's design brought these museums together under one roof in 2014. The museum showcases a vast collection of over 250,000 pieces of European and American art from the Middle Ages to contemporary times.
🎨Review: Harvard Art Museums🎨 ⭐️Overall Rating: 9.7/10⭐️ The Harvard Art Museums are a must-visit cultural destination in Cambridge, offering free admission and a well-organized experience despite steady visitor traffic. The galleries are thoughtfully laid out, allowing guests to move through the exhibits with ease and appreciation. On-site amenities enhance the experience. The museum café offers reasonably priced food and beverages, with ample seating to relax or plan your next stop. Additional conveniences include clean and well-maintained restrooms, complimentary lockers for personal items, and water bottle refilling stations—details that reflect the museum’s attention to visitor comfort. Each artwork is accompanied by informative descriptions that provide valuable historical context, enriching the educational aspect of the visit. A small yet curated gift shop rounds out the experience and is well worth exploring. Overall, the Harvard Art Museums combine world-class art with practical amenities, making them an excellent and accessible destination for both locals and tourists.

Thoroughly enjoyed our visit after a nice casual stroll through campus. Easy flow to follow for each floor. Not crowded which gives you plenty of time to view each piece of your choosing with graceful time. IMO a top 10 attraction of Boston for art and culture. Recommended with enthusiasm.
Robert S — Google review
One of the most impressive and refreshing things about the Harvard Art Museums is that some of them are free and open to the public. In a world where admission fees can be a barrier, it’s genuinely inspiring to see an institution choosing to open its doors for people to learn, explore, and experience art without restriction. The space itself is beautifully curated—classic yet modern—and filled with pieces that span centuries and cultures. It’s a manageable size too, so you’re not overwhelmed, but still walk away feeling enriched. One personal highlight: I had just read a post online about the ballerina sculpture, and then, completely by coincidence, saw it in person a few days later. There’s something really special about stumbling across a piece you’ve only seen on a screen—it hits differently. That moment stayed with me. The museum experience is peaceful, thoughtful, and genuinely educational. Whether you’re deeply into art or just curious, it’s worth stopping by if you’re in Cambridge. I love that Harvard has created a space that feels welcoming, not intimidating. This isn’t just for students or scholars—it’s for everyone. And that makes it even more memorable.
Hima R — Google review
An absolute gem of a museum! Free admission for everyone (not sure if this is true always or just on the day I happened to go), and just a few small stories that can be explored within a single day. The collection was well-curated and easy to navigate, with informative descriptions of each piece. There is something for everyone here. The gift shop is cute and has a good selection of post cards, too!
Znookworm Z — Google review
This museum is fantastic, and much bigger than expected. I highly recommend it if anyone is visiting Boston. You can easily spend 3+ hours seeing it all, so plan accordingly. The only negative is we had to drop somebody off at the curb to go inside for a $23 parking permit before we could use the 52 Oxford St. parking garage, even though there is a person at the booth to get into the garage. Why couldn’t we just purchase it right there?
Sean M — Google review
What a beautifully curated and wonderfully kept and updated gem of a museum!!!!!? Some incredibly rare works of art here and how lucky are we that access to all the galleries is absolutely free every single day?!?? Exhibits change and you’re constantly falling in love with artists over and over again because you see so many facets of their artists careers just by exploring the galleries here. Ever changing while the rotate their collections and allow works to rest. Fantastic gift shop that has upscale souvenirs that have extreme sentiment and value uniquely exclusive to the museum one of the best museums I have been to.
Sylvia G — Google review
Nice small museum with important works, but sadly almost exclusively European and North American. There’s some Asian works but I couldn’t see any Latin American art for example in the “America” section, which was a bit underwhelming. But in any case it was well designed and organized.
María O — Google review
So in love with this museum! Many pieces of art can’t even been seen in its original countries! Amazing! Hope to visit again and really take the time to enjoy every piece!

Brunch restaurant
Harvest is a long-standing restaurant in New England that offers contemporary seasonal dishes using locally sourced ingredients. The open kitchen allows diners to watch the chefs at work, and the restaurant has recently been redesigned to include fireside dining. In addition to its indoor dining area, Harvest also offers a private Garden Terrace for outdoor dining during warmer months. The menu features a variety of seafood dishes, including lobster bisque and locally sourced raw bar options.
I have never been here before and was invited to a wedding. The restaurant set back from the street, which is nice. The back room is quaint and isolated from the main dining area, which is wonderful for a private event. The beets & Goat cheese was fresh and mouth watering, just perfect. The potato soup was good, I prefer it a little thicker and more bacon in it. The main course I chose was steak, and it was cooked perfectly but it was not very warm ( it’s hard for a large number of people I understand). The steak came with a bed of mashed potatoes and green beans, which were both delicious. I will definitely make it back for a family dinner, the food & experience overall was great.

The service by Ruben was excellent. Went for Sunday brunch. Sourdough toast under the eggs Benedict was old on my order, burned on the other order in my party. This restaurant would be better for a regular lunch or a dinner. I feel like brunch is what they didn't sell all week. Dessert was spectacular!

This spot is always a favorite — if not for the food, then certainly for the atmosphere. The service is consistently impeccable, and the menu offers a wonderful range of choices, from vegetarian dishes to meats and fish. On this visit, we started with the salad topped with goat cheese croquettes, which was divine, and the roast chestnut agnolotti. For our mains, we both chose fish — the swordfish and the halibut. The swordfish was excellent, though the halibut was just slightly overcooked. I continue to enjoy going here but because it is pricey it is only for special occasions for me.

Pretty good place, duck and chicken were okay, but not great. Gnocchi was too soft. Potions were very small especially the ice cream. Service was strange, dishes came out right away and we felt rushed but there were very few people there. Did they not want us? Felt very overpriced in the end.
Richard S — Google review
Solid dining in an upscale space (4 stars). But taking away one star for a (big) pet peeve of mine that Harvest was guilty of - high end restaurants charging premium prices for glasses of wine should bring out the bottle and pour at the table - if you're charging me $30+ for a premium glass of wine and boasting about your Wine Spectator designations, then I should get to see the bottle you're claiming to pour.
KHY — Google review
The place is hard to find bc it’s not in the street but in an alley where cars cannot pass. We arrived early so had drinks n fries while waiting fur rest of the party to arrive. The fries were sauggy. The seafood tower at $125 is not worth it. It’s very good presentation. The oysters n shrimp are good but the muscles were bland. I guess I like them in a broth smothered in butter n garlic Better off getting dz oysters n shrimp cocktails sep. the lamb was great n the pekin duck was great. The desert crème brûlée was great. The wine was superb. Our server Jacob was friendly, courteous n attentive which I always appreciate. We had a great meal.

I truly am in AWE of the desserts! The Mango Petit Gâteau with champagne mango, lime cake, basil cous cous was such a unique mix of flavors and textures that somehow felt like “why haven’t these always gone together?!” It was meant to be! I also had a pot of MEM tea and Charcuterie. Humbolt Fog, Mimolette, chicken liver mouse, and country pate were all new to me! So fun! Loved the cheeses. Not too fond of the liver. Seriously, I would LOVE to be a taste tester for this place :-). I spent the day exploring wonders of the world at the Harvard Museums, and ended it with a culinary masterpiece here!

Small plates restaurant
Mediterranean restaurant
Sarma Restaurant is a vibrant establishment in Somerville, part of Ana Sortun's culinary empire that includes Oleana and Sofra. The restaurant offers a modern Mediterranean menu with an emphasis on Middle Eastern flavors, serving up meze and small plates in a colorful setting. Inspired by traditional Turkish meyhanes, Sarma creates a communal dining experience with craft cocktails, local beer, and an extensive wine selection.
Truly incredible food. Flavor just explodes in your mouth for every dish. We got the corn bread, and gyro bread and I think I will think about both for the rest of my life. Wish I had pics of those to share. We also got the Tunisian tuna tacos, and the Cajun lamb and both were just indescribable. So good! Our server was great as well! I can’t remember their name but they were from Hollywood FL and were super nice and very knowledgeable about the menu!

- Everything is really good on the menu, but if it’s your first time I recommend any of the following: Black Sea cornbread, Lentil Nachos, Harissa BBQ duck, Scallops are excellent. Note the sesame fried chicken is brought around to tables when it’s made fresh, but cannot be ordered on demand. - Lots of really nice cocktails - Due to high demand, this place mostly requires a reservation, but there are 20 bar seats available for walk ins as well - Prices are very reasonable and quality is excellent; one of my favorite restaurants in Boston
BWS T — Google review
This place is insanely good. A few things to know before coming: - if you don’t have a reservation, and it’s the weekend, expect a line 10-15 minutes before open. - Sarma is tapas style, so be ready to order 2-4 plates per person. - if you have a picky palate, then maybe a sports bar is better for you. We went as a group of four, and all four of us agreed Sarma was one of the best culinary experiences we have had in recent memory. Each dish is expertly crafted with layers of flavor, and texture in mind. We like to grade dishes A+ through F- and out of 16 dishes only one got a B+ with the rest being A+ to A-. Highlights were the Black Sea Cornbread, Lentil Nachos, Chickpea Fritters, Fresh Sesame Fried Chicken, Mole Carrots, Lamb Kofte Sliders, and the Harissa BBQ duck. Service is prompt and great at handling large crowds of people in waves, decor and atmosphere also quite nice. Has incredible return value, will be back!

We had the best date night at Sarma! We didn’t have a reservation. We showed up on a Thursday night. Because we were flexible on sitting at the bar v. a table, we waited about 10 minutes (faster than the estimated wait). We were able to order a drink right away. It was the first time dining out in a while where we thought the food was so creative, delicious and flavorful. We especially enjoyed the cornbread, scallops, and crab dishes. The drinks were equally delicious. The service was great at the bar. The waiter asked if we had visited before and then introduced us to the concept and his favorites based our dietary needs/preferences. They asked about allergies. We had great conversation and vibes throughout the dinner. The environment colorful and bustling. Parking is limited so plan in advance.

This is an extraordinary restaurant! I feel this restaurant is the best in Boston! They use so many different herb! Tapas. All the dishes blended well . The employees are so friendly. Our waiter was Alexis tonight. He gave us a great experience.
Elizabeth S — Google review
I truly believe all the praise Sarma receives is super well deserved. Our expectations were dangerously high going in and Sarma exceeded on all fronts! The food, drinks, and service were all exceptional! Food: All the plates we ordered were all so unique and flavorful and it was such a treat exploring them. If only we had the stomachs and wallets to try everything on the menu. Our favorites were definitely the cornbread, the brussel sprouts, and the Cajun lamb kebabs. The first bite of every dish always got us perked up and excited to try more! Also the drinks we tried were a hit with everyone! Service: This was a perfect service experience! The staff checked in frequently and effectively, always quick to deliver on requests. The plates came and went so smoothly allowing you to focus on the food and the people you’re with. Atmosphere: The energy felt so celebratory! The decor and lightly immersed you in the dining experience giving you so many interesting and beautiful things to yet your eyes wonder on. Though there was constant chatter, we could easily hear everyone in our 5 person party because of the quieter background music and the spacing of the seating.
Vincent C — Google review
What a disappointing experience after hearing/reading raving reviews and having to make a reservation a month in advance. The food was not bad per se but definitely not as incredible as others say. For starters, we were served their fried chicken which was promoted as their special dish for the night; they had staff walking around offering it for $15. I should’ve read previous reviews to learn that this is a dish they commonly offer. I also thought the way they promoted it was strange, and felt bad saying no. The only dishes that were actually noteworthy are the zucchini tiganites and cornbread. I'm always happy to splurge when it comes to meals but way too overpriced when the quality wasn't all there. The staff were not friendly. When I first walked in, the hosts had a very cold approach. The interactions I had with my waiter were quite awkward as well.
Nina N — Google review
This was one of the hardest reservations to get, so our expectations were very high — but unfortunately, the experience fell short. The appetizers were noticeably better than the main courses, and sadly, many of the dishes were overly salty. We ordered quite a lot to try a good range of the menu: Avocado muhammara, fava bean pâté, Cuban-style pork, the famous cornbread, fritters, sugar snap peas, Brussels bravas, halloumi, fried zucchini, lemon beef, BBQ duck, lamb sliders, and for dessert, loukoumades with brown butter coffee and corn butter cake. The standout dishes were the cornbread, sugar snap peas, lamb sliders, and BBQ duck. The sugar snap peas might have been our favorite bite of the night — perfectly balanced and flavorful. The cornbread was outstanding as expected: salty from feta, spicy from jalapeños, and slightly sweet — all in one bite. Incredible balance. However, found a hair in last bite of the cornbread, which really ruined the experience. The staff handled it professionally and removed the item from the bill, but for a restaurant of this caliber, it’s simply not acceptable. The BBQ duck had good flavor, but half the pieces were quite tough while others were overly salty. The lamb sliders reminded me of a sandwich version of an Iskender kebab — well-seasoned meat with yogurt sauce that nicely balanced the richness. Unfortunately, several dishes were almost inedible due to saltiness — especially the fritters, lemon beef, fava bean pâté, Cuban pork, and halloumi. The avocado muhammara and fried zucchini were fine, but not particularly memorable. For dessert, the loukoumades with Turkish coffee sauce were excellent — the sauce paired beautifully with the fried dough. The corn butter cake, however, was underwhelming. Overall, the experience was lackluster. Service started off great but dropped off after we ordered — it was hard to find our server, and check-ins were rare. Also, the drinks were mediocre, and the “Turkish coffee espresso martini” was particularly disappointing, arriving without much crema or foam. After waiting years to finally try Sarma, it was a letdown, and unfortunately, I don’t think we’ll be returning anytime soon.

Spanish restaurant
Dali Restaurant & Tapas in Somerville offers a lively atmosphere and traditional Spanish tapas, sangria, and sherry. The restaurant's rich, dark interior sets the stage for a truly transportive dining experience. Inspired by a surrealist Spanish innovator, Dali is known for its ornamental and colorful design.
We came here to have a Valentine’s Day dinner — and were so surprised to grab the last reservation of the night by calling day of! The food was incredible, as usual! I ran to Google to review but I just wanted to say that Laura was so incredibly kind and truly one of the best servers I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. She truly made our night and went out of her way to check in. I hope she is extremely celebrated at the restaurant, she was amazing!

Been meaning to try out Dali for years and we finally got to do it on our son’s birthday. Dali turned out to be the perfect choice for a birthday dinner. Funky decor & lively atmosphere reminded me of my trip to Spain. Friendly staff, delicious food and drinks at reasonable prices. Parking is a challenge though - took us a while to find street parking that didn’t have a permit parking only sign on a Wednesday evening.

On our last night in Boston, we decided to try Dali. There were no available tables, so we chose to sit at the bar. No regrets! The food was good and my wife loved the sangria, but what truly made the evening unforgettable was Julio’s warm and vibrant personality, which turned a simple dinner into a delightful experience. I was accompanied by my wife and my youngest son, and we all left completely satisfied and smiling. Without a doubt, Dali is a place I would gladly return to.
Juan T — Google review
Aesthetically this place is a 6/5, it’s just oozing with charm and character that you absolutely don’t find most places these days. The food is hit and miss with some excellent options but some odd bites among the highlights. You’ll get quirky birthday / graduation singing, fairly good service, and reasonable quantities of things to eat —- but expect oil, sauce, and salt to play aggressively in your food. Would not advise for those with sensitive stomachs… or some introverts or those sensitive to bright colorful spaces? — Hard to say! Check the photos. Bread is unimpressive, crusty, average - not the star of the show. Cauliflower fritters ended up being a hit though. Meat and fish dishes are on the small side, and again overly fatty and perhaps too dry. 3 dishes will suffice for the average diner. Maybe we didn’t select wisely from available options. No info available on sourcing or sustainability. Parking is quite tricky so be mindful. The parallel spots along Beacon st may be your best bet nearby. There’s so much color and texture here that it’s a fun way to spend a meal but wouldn’t want my whole house to look this way. Worth coming in once but may not be an everyday occasion.

Dali is super cozy and relaxed. The service is great, and the owner is really friendly and chatty. Highly recommend the Pato Braseado—the mulberry sauce balances the duck perfectly. Absolutely delicious!
Lue — Google review
This place looks and feels like the opening of a Gordon Ramsay kitchen nightmares episode. Every plate of food was worse than its predecessor, culminating in a plate of duck that was inedible dumped in a berry sauce that was mostly vinegar. The decor is dated, the place feels like a weird cave where people come to drink cocktails so they don’t realize how bad the food is.

This place is always packed for a reason. Guaranteed the best food you’ll ever have. They truly captured a small slice of Spain in Cambridge. You can close your eyes and place your finger on any menu item and you’ll land on the most delicious meal/ drink you’ve ever had. If there aren’t any tables available sit at the bar and Julio will take care of you! Run, dont walk to Dalí!

Cambridge Brewing Company, also known as CBC, is a pioneering figure in the Pub Brewery movement since its establishment in 1989. It offers a unique blend of American and experimental beer styles with a New England culinary flair. The brewery was the first to produce Belgian beer commercially and introduced innovations like barrel aging and micro flora for flavor enhancement.
Amazing local brewery in Cambridge conveniently located close to Kendall Square. The local is modern and beautifully decorated. The staff is friendly and welcoming. Great food is proposed with a large variety of homemade draft beers. Definitely a must go in the area!

If you're visiting the area there are lots of local breweries to find and it's worth putting this one on your list. Plenty of seating outside and in. The food options cover all bases, from appetisers to salads to burgers. It's a family friendly place too so if you're after more of an adult atmosphere then consider when you arrive.

I tried 5 of their beers and not a big fan. And the food menu wasnt impressive. The waiter didnt give an approximate response when I asked how long the pizza take since we were in a hurry. Calamari had yellow bell peppers mixed into it which was strange. Spinach artichoke pizza was too heavy.

A Standard Bearer I’ve been a patron for the better part of six years since moving to MA and working in Cambridge. A great haven to sample their brewing creativity, as well as satiate the appetite with an under-the-radar menu. CBC has sustained itself as a landing pad with unique brews, mouth-watering eats, and welcoming staff. First timers quickly become long timers. A Standard in Kendall Square.

Stopped in for a break after visiting some colleges and thought it was an adorable brewery. The unique beers were awesome- I enjoyed the sweetheart at the rodeo. It was relatively quiet at around 4 pm on a Tuesday, but they had a nice patio space and plenty of seating. They allowed me to sample some before buying a pint which is always appreciated.

We were a group of 8 people and we went to Cambridge Brewing Company for Wednesday evening. We started with the Nachos and Shishito Peppers. The appetizers were amazing. We loved it. After that we ordered food as the kitchen was closing. For the dinner we ordered Brussel Sprouts, Eggplant Chips, Greek Chicken Salad, Chicken Wings, Fish and Chips, Chicken Burger, Caesar Salad, Black Bean Burger, Salmon Burger. After the food we decided to order drinks. The drinks that we order varied from IPA, Cambridge Amber. We got our order quickly and the service was also fast. We loved our food and the time at the Brewery. I will recommend everyone to try it.

This is place is really nice, is in a nice area and the host and waiters were nice. The only 2 not so great things were, we wanted to order beer flights and they didn’t have glasses available and the place was not that full of people, so that was disappointing nevertheless the beers we order were pretty good. The second thing was the food was not that great, a little bland you might say; we order eggplant fries and fish and chips and it was lacking flavor. The flourless chocolate cake was really good, so props to the dessert chef. We will be back, but for sure not to eat.

Coffee shop
Area Four is a trendy cafe and bakery in Cambridge that has become a favorite among the local technology crowd. The restaurant offers gourmet pizzas made from dough fermented for 30 hours, ensuring a deliciously crispy crust. In addition to their famous pizzas, they also serve salads and indulgent dishes like croissant-crumb-topped mac n cheese. The stylish cafe provides a great setting for casual meetings or collaborative work sessions.
Area Four Pizza in Boston totally impressed me! The prosciutto americano was hands-down my favorite. The carnivore pizza was also a standout, The crust on both was perfectly crisp and chewy. Oh, and their garlic bread is full of garlic and buttery flavors coated in cheese. So delicious, don't skip them. We ordered two large pizzas, and it was just enough for 5 of us. Also, they have a very extensive beer list. The atmosphere has amazing energy, perfect for hanging out with friends or just enjoying a casual night out. I would highly recommend stopping into Area Four.

We ate here for two evenings because it was so good the first time we visited. The supreme garlic knots were amazing and great as a shared starter. The pasta dishes were good but the pizza particularly good as it is cooked in a wood fired pizza oven, the service was excellent on both evenings and I would definitely recommend Area Four for pasta & pizza. We sat outside which was nice but the inside had a great feel too.

We ordered for pick up as we were driving from Maine and craving this pizza for dinner. Sadly once we got said pizza home what we received was a burnt carnivore pizza. The pizza was somehow undercooked on the bottom and burnt black and crispy on top. The toppings were also charred which didn’t taste good at all. But what do you do after a long day of driving?? My boyfriend ate slices of the least burnt pieces and I had a slice but my toppings fell off my soggy slice. Smoky flavor all around. Guess I just wish someone had done some quality control before handing over this pizza to us. When you pay 32 dollars for a pizza you kind of have higher expectation for the quality of food. Very sad to have had this experience tonight. We hope tonight was just a flaw in the cooking or oven equipment. Thanks.

Area Four is the kind of place that makes you want to cancel your next few plans just to stay a little longer. From the moment you walk in, there’s this buzzy, effortless cool—part industrial hangout, part neighborhood gem. The wood-fired pizza? Absolute sorcery. The crust has that perfect char, chewy inside, and the toppings taste like they were foraged by pizza monks. We had the mushroom and the carnivore—both showstoppers. The cocktails are sharp, creative, and dangerously drinkable. And the staff? Laid-back, funny, and clearly love what they do. If you’re not already obsessed, one visit will do the trick.

The crust on the pizza was the star of the dinner. Garlic knots were also good. Service was a little slow and the restaurant is loud, but would return for the crust! There is a good selection of local beers too.
Megan K — Google review
Really really solid pizza at a reasonable price. Small pizza was about $20 and can probably serve 2 people (or one very hungry person). Crust was nice and crunchy without too much flop. Great beer selection too but a little pricier ($10-13 for drafts)

We got takeout from here on two nights during a trip to Boston/Cambridge. Both times we had the Sausage and Pickled Peppers pizza and we think it's probably the best pizza we have ever had! Also it's ready super quick and was piping hot! The large pizza is a great size!
Chris P — Google review
Ok, I love pizza and wings, and this has got to be one of the best I have ever had. The pizza was amazing, fresh ingredients, perfect portions of toppings, very fast delivery to table. This place is easy to get to in Cambridge, nice little park/grass area on the side for kids to run around if you need. Was in town to visit my daughter at Northeastern and we tried this on Saturday and Posto Sunday. Don’t waste your time with Posto, that place is a joke. Area Four is by far one of the best pizzas places I have ever tried. The wings were also perfect, not drenched in sauce, perfectly baked so there is a crunch but not dry. Waitress was friendly as well. Plan ahead with a reservation or go early or later than the rush times. Trust me, you’ll really enjoy the food!

New American restaurant
Cocktail bar
Little Donkey is a trendy restaurant located in Central Square, Boston, offering an eclectic mix of international small plates and craft brews and cocktails. The dining room features a variety of seating options and has a lively atmosphere. The menu includes unique dishes like Caviar Sandwich, BLT Lettuce Wraps, Manti, burgers, pho, pupusas, and lobster fra diavolo.
I came here for dinner on a Monday without a reservation and got hightop seating for a party of 4 (regular tables were all occupied). Overall the serving sizes exceeded expectations for a small plates place, and there were some great flavors! Great, would get again - The Bangkok street noodles had a wonderful smoky flavor and a good amount of pork. - The mushroom fried rice was really good! Nice variety of mushrooms and perfect rice texture and flavor. - The grilled octopus was cooked very nicely. Okay, wouldn't get again - The salmon crudo was fine but nothing special. - The empanada was pretty mid. - The crispy pork belly was not what I expected. Felt more like a salad and the pork wasn't that good compared to the Bangkok street noodles. It's not a cheap place -- if we had gotten 2-3 dishes per person as was recommended, we would easily have spent over $50 per person (most dishes are $17 to $25). But the portion sizes for the rice and noodles were larger than I expected, and those two dishes were quite scrumptious. I'd come back!
Gloria H — Google review
The food at Little Donkey is so unique and flavor forward! It’s delicious and always a fun time and I really appreciate how often they change the menu while still keeping some of their star dishes like the fried rice and the miso cacio e Pepe! This post was made in connection with a Toast promotion.
Brigitte B — Google review
The atmosphere is nice, but the food is very very average. The Bangkok noodles and octopus were overcharred, such that none of the other flavor notes came through almost at all. An extra star for gluten free consciousness. But it was a two star experience in terms of the culinary side. And very pricey for tapas. If you end up here with a group of friends, it won’t be the worst thing, but don’t waste a date night.
Brett H — Google review
Little Donkey was definitely an experience! Everything we got was interesting, even if I didn't love it. I would recommend this if you're a fan of trying new tastes.
Kathy Y — Google review
Not a great place for vegetarians. But the mushroom fried rice and Parker house rolls was decent. The roast beets was quite average. My husband recommends the Manti and he was not a fan of Southern Greens. Overall good vibe and service. A little expensive for the experience. Also, would be great if you could add some more vegan options.
Enakshi C — Google review
The food went so fast that I didn’t have time to take pictures of it. Little donkey has got a cool vibe with a large interior space that looks a bit like a stripped down factory, giving it some urban hip sensations which are augmented by the steady stream of good Rap music. It is pretty dark in there and it feels kind of like a club, but the food menus, served tapas style, has got a lot of great flavors and innovation, and everything disappeared very fast. The cocktails were also very good. Iberico pork steak was excellent. The tuna tostadas were very savory and delicious and the tuna was very fresh. On the whole, this place is pretty expensive, but they work hard to earn it.
C Z — Google review
The food here is just not good, frankly I could cook something better, I just didn’t enjoy anything other than the BLT lettuce wraps, the drinks were great but wow..this is the most sub par place I’ve ever been to, don’t recommend for food at all it’s just okay
Spencer G — Google review
I had a girls’ dinner date here and loved the vibe! The dim lighting at night creates such a cozy atmosphere, and the cocktails (and mocktails) were on point. We went with a bunch of tapas-style dishes: ceviche, burrata, scallops, roasted carrots, cauliflower, Bangkok street noodles, and the pork belly. Almost everything is shareable, and the food came out quickly. Everything was delicious, but the standout dishes were the scallops, ceviche, and roasted cauliflower! Definitely recommend. The portions left us feeling satisfied, not overly stuffed. For dessert, we tried the cookie dough, which was a total surprise—one of the best things I’ve had in a while! It comes with a generous scoop and a side of white cream with chocolate chips. The presentation was super fun, too, with a baking beater for decoration. All in all, a great spot for quick bites and drinks, whether you’re with friends or on a date night.

Charlie's Kitchen is a local institution in Harvard Square that has been serving up its famous double cheeseburger for over 40 years. In addition to their renowned burgers, they also offer homemade crabcakes and Lobsterburger. The kitchen is open until midnight every night except Sunday, making it a perfect spot for late-night dining.
We, party of 4, were there Sunday for dinner. The service is really good from the host to the servers! And during our dinner came to the table a gentleman approached our table just asking if everything was fine, we assumed he was the manager. The food was good! Sundays they have a “One dollar oyster 🦪 special” the oysters are those little ones… but for a dollar it’s worth it. Two of us got the Salmon Pesto with broccoli and rice,I was expecting more pesto, the salmon was a little over cooked and it was more just like a piece of salmon with broccoli. The rice was dry. Our other two friends got Burgers, one of them got a regular burger and the other one got a double cheese burger, both of them were good. Drinks are ok and prices are very reasonable! I Recommend It.

My husband and I came here after some shopping and wanted a low key dinner before heading home. We wanted burgers and this place came recommended by a friend. Really good quality for the price and cool atmosphere. They even had nonalcoholic beer options for my husband who is in a training cycle so he was really happy about that. Quick, no frills, hit the spot, would definitely go back if in the area.

The food was decent and came out quickly, but the service was very poor. There was a confusion wherein the server said they would be unable to split the check so half of our party left. The server was then mad at those of us who stayed, essentially blaming us for getting him in trouble. The atmosphere is chaotic and very dirty. Almost every table is dirty. Would not come back.

Visiting the area and popped in for lunch. Part diner, part bar, all excellent! Friendly staff (thanks Anish!), atmosphere is a bit 50's diner with modern music playing. Not too loud, but enough to get your foot tapping. Ordered the turkey club. The bread to turkey to avocado to tomato to lettuce ratio was perfectly balanced. Bread nicely toasted. Avocado added a wonderful creamy textual element. Everything came together to create an amazingly juicy bite. Their famous double cheeseburger is brilliant. Famous for a reason. Two perfectly cooked patties with cheese. Thick tomato slice, pickle and lettuce. It is juicy, balanced with flavors and textures. I did order a side of chili and added it to the burger (in bites) and I will say that this version with a little yellow mustard was my favorite bite. Reminds me of Tommy's back in Los Angeles. Simply amazing. Fries were also a nice accompaniment. Added chili to them also and they were great both ways. 100% would come back. This place is a yes!

When I was preg with my first born, nothing set well with me, unless I was at Charlies. No matter what I ate at Charlies, my soon to be born was content. For myself, the burgers were cooked to perfection. The fries the same. The atmosphere was expected to old school. It was a haunt that welcomed me and mine anytime I crossed their threshold. Perfect.

Beautiful patio view but limited choices on the menu if not vegan. The Drunken Garlic Shrimp was delicious and recommended by the server (who was awesome)!! Sadly there was only one server for all the guests during a busy lunch and finally the bartender came out (since the bar was completely empty) to help. The manager stood on the side watching the chaos doing nothing. The table next to us was ready to check out and asked the manager for assistance but she said they would have to wait for the server. We did the same but I told the manager I have somewhere to be and to assist us now please. Odd a manager can’t even assist with closing the checks. Otherwise cute patio and good food. Longfellow House-Washington's Headquarters National Historic Site is a captivating destination that intertwines literary history with significant American heritage. Located at 105 Brattle Street, this historic residence was once home to the renowned poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow and served as General George Washington's headquarters during the Siege of Boston. Visitors can explore its beautiful mid-Georgian architecture and expansive New England-style gardens, which are popular among artists and architects alike.
You can't take a tour of the house yourself but they are offered for free about once an hour. Krista was our guide [July 26, 1pm] and her passion for history, inclusion, and poetry takes what could be a regular historic house tour to very memorable one. Touch the handrail that George Washington touched, see the study of Longfellow, check out the tiling of the fireplaces, all as preserved by Alice Longfellow. Add it to the itinerary when visiting Cambridge, very worth the time and keep supporting our NPS!

Visiting Washington’s headquarters in Cambridge was an amazing experience. The staff and volunteers were welcoming, and the living history interpreters really brought 1775 to life. The house has fascinating history, from serving as Washington’s base during the Siege of Boston to later being Longfellow’s home. I loved learning that the phrase “United States of America” was first written here. The rooms are beautifully preserved, and the grounds are peaceful for a stroll. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the Boston area.

We were early for our tour so we went to a coffee shop and stationary store in Harvard Square first. We were able to find metered parking very close by the homestead. Enjoyed an informative tour. Lots of portraits and interesting art objects. Afterwards we spent time in the garden playing around with the watercolor supplies on the free Art Cart. A perfect day.

Really unique to experience a place with so many layers of history: Tory row turned emancipated humans turned George Washington’s headquarters turned longfellows home. There’s some queer history, which was cold (Alice, Sam, and Harry Dana). There’s obviously the connection to Paul Revere. Lots to delve into. Our guides were kind and very helpful with my walker. Say hi to the 300 year old tree outside!!! And don’t forget to stop off at the Longfellow memorial across the way. Lots of lavender around it so if that’s delightful to you great! If it would make you react, perhaps avoid.

Such an amazing experience. I was just walking by and saw the house with a placard and thought I’d go see what it was. I’m very glad I did. Krista gave me an amazing explanation of the significance of the house and I learned so much about the early days of the revolutionary war. I highly recommend checking this museum out. You’ll see artwork, architecture, and history from multiple centuries and you’ll learn about all types of people from the rich and powerful to the poor and enslaved who left their mark on that house.

I visited Longfellow House Washington’s Headquarters for the 250th anniversary of Washington taking command of the Continental Army, and it was an excellent experience. The staff and volunteers were knowledgeable and welcoming, and the living history interpreters were outstanding. It felt like stepping into 1775. The tour shared so many interesting details about how this house served as Washington’s headquarters during the Siege of Boston and later became Henry Wadsworth Longfellow’s home. I appreciated learning that this is where the phrase “United States of America” was first written in a letter and how the decisions made here shaped the Revolutionary War. The rooms are beautifully preserved, and the grounds are peaceful to walk around. This is a place where you can really connect with early American history and see how it continued to inspire generations afterward. Highly recommend visiting if you are in Cambridge or anywhere in the Boston area.

This was a fantastic place. The Longfellow house is a must see if in the Boston area. Its beautiful architecture and interior and rich history will impress many. We got there just in time for when a tour started, and it lasted about 30-40 minutes. Plus, it’s all free! You do need a guided tour though, it is not self guided, so take note. Definitely worth it.

Nestled in Cambridge, Massachusetts, the Peabody Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology is a treasure trove for history enthusiasts and curious minds alike. The museum's engaging exhibits are designed to enhance understanding of diverse societies around the globe, making it a popular destination for families and scholars.
Peabody Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology – 5/5 Stars Visited the Peabody Museum as part of our day at the Harvard Museum of Natural History—same ticket, and well worth it! The exhibits were fascinating, offering a deep look into human history, culture, and archaeology from around the world. It was a great addition to our visit—my son and I both enjoyed it, and it added even more value to an already fun and educational experience. A perfect combination of science and history in one visit. Highly recommended!

This is a really nice collection. I was really surprised to see an exhibit about the 1893 World’s Columbian Exposition, but since I’m a huge Worlds Fair nerd it was a pleasant surprise. Totally worth checking out.

The Peabody Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology at Harvard University is one of the oldest museums of its kind in the world. Founded in 1866 by philanthropist George Peabody, it became a cornerstone of American anthropology and a repository for artifacts that trace human history across continents. The museum’s redbrick building, completed in 1877, anchors Harvard’s historic campus in Cambridge and remains a center for teaching and research today. Inside, visitors encounter exhibits spanning thousands of years—from ancient Mesoamerican carvings and Native American pottery to early photographs documenting cultures around the world. The Peabody’s collections helped shape modern archaeological methods and contributed to early fieldwork in Central America, the American Southwest, and the Arctic.

Went to see the Day of the Dead (Die de los Muertos) special event. Entry was free for the event, and it was a great experience. Very crowded, but I enjoyed walking through the museum to see the exhibition and crafts. I must return on a normal day to check out the museum without the crowd.

If you are MA resident, you can visit this museum for free on Wednesday from 3pm-5pm, and on Sunday in the morning. I must admit, that this year the displays with artifacts have changed. Almost half of them were removed, and replaced with inscription, about cultural sensitivities. I was really shocked, because there was almost nothing left to see. I am really curious to see that person, who came to the museum, and asked to remove some items. What was already history, can't be changed, or removed, if people are so sensitive nowadays, just stay at home, don't waste your time visiting the museum.

On Harvard campus is this cute little museum. I recommend it highly. For only $15, you get access to not only the Peabody museum, but all of the other museums in the building as well! You cannot beat that for the price of admission! It even has an exhibit on the archaeology of the originial Harvard yard, and the different things that they've found there- if you like history, this is the place for you!
Ashley N — Google review
This museum is incredible! It is so worth the visit! I do wish they had more native artifacts from local tribes, especially because all of the local museums for specific tribes are closed right now for some reason. I discussed this with the guy at the front desk, and he said that because of a lot of laws that allow tribes to take back artifacts, they have many artifacts from tribes from Montana or Illinois or Mississippi or Maine, but a lot less from local places. Metacom’s bow wasn’t there (presumed to have been used during King Phillips war, where the relationship with the colonists and the natives deteriorated), and I don’t know that there was anything from the Natick tribes. I was also sad that John Eliot’s Bible wasn’t there! I had just gone to deer Island, where the native tribes were termed during Kings Phillips war, and I had just gone to Newton, to see the location of the Natick tribe that Elliott first made into a praying tribe. I was hoping I would get to see a copy of his Bible, but I did not. Would love to find out where it is because I will go! Unless of course it’s in another country… That would be sad. There is a way for wheelchair users to get into the building, but it is by going through the adjacent library. If you go through the library, there is an elevator that takes you up a floor so you can get onto the main level of the museum. There is almost no parking. I had to park by Dudley Café and Starbucks on Wendell Street and walk over. It took me a good hour to walk over because it was so hot and I had to stop and sit and drink and it just took so long. The good thing is that if you have a handicap sticker, you can park in any metered spot and the time limits do not apply and you don’t have to pay. That’s very good because it took me forever to get there. By the time I got there, I was so tired , I just needed to sit for a minute and thankfully everyone was very kind. Pretty cool that Henry David Thoreau found the arrowheads! How cool is that?! I also personally had no idea that Harvard had a school for native Americans and it was really amazing to hear about the archaeological work on the campus even today! Very very cool. As a local educator, I would love to connect more! My students would find that so fascinating! Free for residents on Sunday mornings 9-12, and Wednesday afternoons (not sure exact hours).

This is a cool spot if you are looking to spend some museum time in the area. The exhibits are well thought out and the museum staff goes to great lengths to honor the cultures they have displays for. I thought that the archaeology exibit about Harvard was very interesting. Something I didn't realize before coming here was that the ticket will get you into all of the museums that day.

Tony C's Sports Bar and Grill is a sprawling eatery that pays tribute to 1960s Red Sox legend Tony Conigliaro. With its prime location overlooking Fenway Park, it's the go-to spot for pre and post-game gatherings, offering 40 huge TVs and a diverse menu. The Fenway location boasts a cavernous interior and a 150-seat roof deck, making it an ideal spot for sports fans.
Today was my first time at Tony C's @ Assembly Row in Somerville. Our smiling waiter / bartender with a cheerful outgoing personality ( Derick ) was amazing! He was so knowledgeable about everything on the menu and he let me sample a few of the fortyish craft beers that they have on tap. He gave me great recommendations, and the food was mouthwatering! I had the rack of ribs and my sister had a shrimp dish. I will definitely be frequenting this bar and grill in the future. One of my new favorites! Thanks Derick for making our day!

I asked for the burger patty to be medium rare and it came fully cooked, and was also huge like very thick and not juicy enough. The service was great they speak spanish and have a fun atmosphere. Although i did feel the vibe like I was at Chilli’s or Cheescake Factory but Chilli’s has tastier burgers. Price are alright, both burgers where $20, but I would have preferred to eat something else.

I recently dined at Tony C’s and had a fantastic experience. The ambiance was welcoming, the service was excellent, and most importantly, the food was delicious. I tried their signature burger, and I must say, it was one of the best burgers I've had in a long time. The patty was juicy and perfectly cooked to my liking. The toppings were fresh and flavorful, and the bun was soft yet sturdy enough to hold everything together. Each bite was a burst of savory goodness. Aside from the burger, I also sampled some of their other dishes, and they were all top-notch. From appetizers to desserts, each dish showcased quality ingredients and skilled preparation. The menu offered a variety of options, catering to different tastes and preferences. The portion sizes were generous, ensuring that I left feeling satisfied. The presentation of the dishes was also impressive, adding to the overall dining experience. Overall, I highly recommend Tony C’s for anyone looking for a great meal. Whether you're craving a delicious burger or want to explore their menu further, you won't be disappointed. The combination of friendly service, inviting atmosphere, and excellent food makes it a standout dining destination.

I go to Tony’s quite often because I really enjoy the food, the atmosphere, and it’s usually a great place to relax and have a drink sometimes alone, sometimes with friends. But last night was quite disappointing. The bar staff seemed more focused on chatting among themselves than serving customers. I was initially helped by a bartender who was finishing his shift, and after he left, no one else came to check on me. I had to make an effort just to get another drink, wasn’t offered a menu, and no one asked if I wanted anything else. I was waiting for a friend to arrive, and still, no one came over. What made it even more disappointing was noticing that male customers were served much more quickly and attentively. In the end, I asked for the check and went somewhere else to eat. It’s a shame, because I really like Tony’s, but the service really fell short last night.

His attention to detail and genuine care for guests truly enhances the experience. He went above and beyond to ensure that my little one felt welcomed and entertained, which made our visit even more enjoyable. Brian took the time to suggest kid-friendly options and even brought out a little surprise treat for my child, which was a hit! Overall, Tony C’s is a gem. Great sushi for the price. Went here because my neighbor raved about this place. The ssamjang was an interesting sauce, but some of my friends that like ssamjang did not like it on sushi. I would go again and pick up is easy. Accommodated an octopus allergy. Not the best sushi in Boston but best sushi for the price in Boston while maintaining quality and standards.

Really really good sushi but the seating is 6 tiny seats in total downstairs and it is incredibly cramped. This place is ill-suited for dine-in. If i am ever back in this city i'd probably pickup sushi from this place and eat somewhere else. Also they do not let you drink alcohol inside the establishment which is a strange rule.

We put in some work on this dinner . Great sake choices and sushi was awesome . We also had the whole fish. Rolled out of here and. We were the last table . Had a decent wait to get in but so worth it. Will be back !!!!!!

After slow service at the start, the sushi started appearing and it was most excellent. It’s better to order off the chef special menu than the standard sushi menu even though the latter are quite excellent. Noisy as other reviewers have noted. Updated: went back a second time. Service was excellent. Sushi was excellent. Hauntingly good in fact. This is now the go to for sushi for me.

The price makes no sense with the food quality. They put the crappy cuts of sushi in the rolls to hide its poor quality, and they left part of the skin on some of the salmon. Very disappointed because this place used to be good.

Really a masterpiece sushi place! Too bad that they have such a small and noisy place that they can’t accommodate more customers. We had a reservations so we were seated right away. We ordered sashimi, sushi rolls and salmon ikura/abiding. Everything was fresh and tasty. Their service is fast and attentive. We would definitely go there a second time.

Hands down the freshest and best sushi in the NE. To be sure, I took a Japanese friend and she was still thinking about it the following week! Fresh ingredients only available in Japan. If the budget allows go for the omikaze. Need to book!

Lord Hobo in Cambridge is a popular spot known for its extensive craft beer selection and New American cuisine. The spacious interior and affordable pricing make it an attractive choice for locals and visitors alike. The bar's eclectic clientele adds to the vibrant atmosphere, creating a unique and infectious vibe. With over 40 draft lines and 30 bottled beers, Lord Hobo offers a constantly rotating collection of top-notch brews from around the world.
On the outside it looks like a grungy bar, but on the inside you're transported to a hip little restaurant/bar. You expect ordinary bar food and instead you get a delicious culinary experience. I had pork belly and asparagus. The low carb options here were delicious!! Also, the staff were so nice and accommodating.

Overall we had a relaxing time here as it was pretty empty when we came on a Thursday afternoon. The bartender was super nice. My wife enjoyed her beer, and the music playing was great. Our only complaint was the food. We ordered the tortilla chips and hummus, which was kinda mid.

The food was rather good, the setting and ambience were really good as well. The restaurant filled up rather quick, so we were glad we got there when we did. I ordered the poutine and my friends ordered the fish and chips and the chicken sandwich, all of which were delicious. The staff, especially the front hostess, were very sweet. I did try to order an Arnold Palmer, but they said that they don't have any iced tea, so if anyone in your party wants it, just a note that they may not have it. :-) I would like to go back once I am able to.

You know why all craft beers aren't the same? The passion behind the brews, the educating consultative relationship of the brewery staff, and the low-key welcoming vibe at the taproom. You know when you're in a world-class place from the gurus serving you. I wish I had more thumbs... 👍👍👍👍 Great job Lord Hobo!

Enjoyed the "Core" flight, which was all IPA's and one lager (which tasted like an IPA). They were all pretty good, but I would like to see more variance in the more affordable flight option. I could have chosen the limited flight option, but I really would prefer just one to three dark beers to go with the light. Regardless, our service was quick and friendly, the prices are fair, and I would definitely come back!

Have a fond memory of this place. Good location, great food for dinner, and of course, their boomsauce is terrific. The theme was quite rustic, which made the place cooler coming in for a dinner in late-winter/early-spring. Overall would highly recommend this place.

Great bar, great food. The staff are incredibly friendly. And the beer selection is amazing. They have local brews. and beers from all over the country. Not to mention their own beer which is delicious.

Service was poor and beers were way too expensive for a brew pub. $11 for a Lord Hobo. $27 for a beer flight. Really? Papusas were tasty.

Forage is a charming farm-to-table restaurant that offers a modern take on traditional dishes using locally sourced ingredients. Nestled away from the hustle and bustle, this upscale eatery in Cambridge showcases seasonal and global influences in its menu. From roasted wild hen-of-the-wood mushrooms to chicken with ginger broth, the dishes are creatively crafted with elements like confit garlic, capers, raisins, pine nuts, and Calabrian chili.
Came here for an anniversary dinner and had a great time! We each had a cocktail, and the vegetarian tasting. We picked classic cocktails not listed on the menu, and they were delicious! The food was pretty awesome too, only comment was one very radish heavy dish (it was just radishes lol). However the shakshuka was amazing, as was the brownie at the end. Total bill was $240 with tip, service was incredible, would come again!

Quirky restaurant with a quirky staff (good things!) and tasty food. I did the non-alcoholic drink pairing. Very creative and highly commended. I did the Omnivore tasting menu which consisted of three vegetarian dishes and one meat course. Vegetarian dishes are very simple, but very fresh are tasty with nice textures The meat course was also very simple but well cooked and was tasty. The dessert was awesome. A bit on the expensive side for what you get, but everything is tasty and creative so I will certainly come again soon

Second time at Forage for the tasting menus. The two starter/appetizers are very creative, especially the peach one. Each ingredient is flavorful and balanced well together. The main was not that surprising but worth it. It was in large portion and very fulfilling. We don’t quite enjoy the optional cheese , I would advise to skip it. The dessert is lovely, though the cake is bit similar to the first course. Overall, the tasting menu is worth the price. The atmosphere is also very comforting, perfect for intimate dining.

We visited Forage to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday and enjoyed beautifully curated vegan and pescatarian tasting menus. Every course was thoughtfully prepared, starting with a delightful selection of pickled vegetables and infused oils and vinegars. A standout dish was the skate fish, which had a mild, slightly sweet flavor that paired perfectly with the miso broth and fresh mussels. Dessert was just as impressive: a rhubarb upside-down cake and a red wine sorbet infused with black pepper, complete with a birthday candle for a special touch. The only small critique was that two of my courses featured a rather large portion of mussels (8–10 each), and I would’ve loved a bit more variety. That said, the overall experience was outstanding. What truly made the evening unforgettable was our server, Jack. He was incredibly knowledgeable, warm, and attentive, guiding us through the menu with genuine enthusiasm. His service elevated our experience and made the night feel truly special. I highly recommend Forage to anyone eager to explore creative, seasonal flavors — and if you’re lucky, you’ll have Jack as your guide

Came here for one of their prefix wine dinners as a celebration. It was four courses paired with four types of wine, when ch is very reasonable with today's prices. The food felt like farm to table. We could just taste the freshness of the ingredients. The chef melded many different flavors together very well and each dish was distinct. We definitely walked away with full bellies and had many flavorful wines we otherwise would not have had the chance to try. Would recommend!

One of the best dining experienced I've ever had. Sometimes when doing fine dining as a vegan at a non-fully vegan restaurant it can feel like your meal was an after thought, or that it's missing something. Here it felt like the chef wanted first and foremost to show off the local produce and mushrooms, and was using all the tools at his disposal to make them sing. The flavors were so unique, and always cohesive. From the very first bite of pickled fir, I knew this would be a night to remember. The service was also fantastic. I think every employee came over at some point to check on us, and everyone was so excited to talk to us about the menu and the specific dishes we loved the most. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. My only regret is that we live across the country from them. If you're in the area, please visit them for me.

Forage is a small farm-to-table spot tucked under an old Cambridge building and it’s genuinely unique. We started with house pickles and ferments like spruce tips, celery leaves, baby green tomatoes, and kimchi. We did the pescavore and vegetarian tastings: standouts were the toasted hazelnut-pear salad, Brussels sprouts with maple, orange zest, Camembert and walnuts, salmon with smoked-trout cornbread, and a comforting oat-groat risotto. Dessert was a blonde with kumquat and macerated cranberries. Our server, Ash, was generous and knowledgeable, poured smart wine tastes, and even let us try savory and sweet hemlock pods. Thoughtful and delicious food, lovely people, and a reservation we were surprised to snag.

Celebrated our anniversary here tonight. With string lights outside and a stairway descent into the dining room, it felt a bit magical. Staff were personable, efficient and knowledgeable. It felt cozy, down to earth and had a warm ambiance. We had the pescatarian and omnivore tasting menus. We wanted to be surprised by things we may not have otherwise ordered and we were. It’s a welcome adventure to be at the culinary whim of a talented chef. Each dish that arrived was beautifully displayed. It was an introduction to new experiences, new flavors and memorable. Would I order sunripened tomato sorbet again? Probably not. However, it was such a unique and unclassifiable flavor, I truly enjoyed the experience. My favorites of the meal were the trout, sweet potato mousse and trio of pickled delights. The last flavor of the evening was sugared hemlock pinecones. WOW! It is evident this team knows their art. We will absolutely return.

Blossom Bar at Sichuan Garden is a stylish restaurant and bar that offers a selection of spicy Sichuan dishes along with specialty cocktails. Located in a bustling strip of businesses, the spacious interior features a trendy bar area on one side and an elegant dining space on the other. Despite its hip atmosphere, the restaurant maintains a comfortable and homey feel, making it an ideal spot for quiet conversations, especially during weeknights.
It's a super nice place. I was looking for a more cozy place, but it was fine being there. The service is amazing, and the food is litteraly 10/10. It's better to tell your server about your spice tolerance level before ordering, because some spicy food can warm you up.

There’s no doubt that the drinks here are their signatures. They were exceptional! The food I thought was not as great especially for its price. The fish fillet priced at $28 was extremely dry and bland. No taste at all. The sichuan chicken has some tingling spicy & garlicky taste, did not enjoy it as expected. The atmosphere is great, I think people come here to enjoy drinks and the vibe. The host was all over the place. Inspite of making reservations there were no tables. If you are party of two you’re gonna be seated behind the partition which is the worst spot to enjoy the evening. Please make sure you get to choose your table where the ambiance is enjoyable.

The drinks are the best part. The food is good too, but, I feel like they act to make the drinks shine. My friends and I got a variety, but each one was quite good. Would recommend this place for a birthday dinner, anniversary, or any special occasion as it is a bit dark inside and more romantic than for family

We visited Blossom Bar at Sichuan Garden while in town from out of state. On a Thursday evening, my daughter and I were seated outside and decided to make it an adventure — we told our waitress, “You know the menu, curate a dinner that shows off your best dishes.” She brought us a drink and took our order, which ended up being some sort of dumplings, Dan Dan noodles, hot chicken, fried rice, a beef dish, and a variation on an old fashioned. Here’s where things took a turn: shortly after taking our order, our waitress… left the restaurant. Literally. The food runner brought out the dishes but didn’t explain what anything was, so we weren’t totally sure what we were eating. No one ever came by to check on us, refill our water (which you really need with spicy food), or ask if we wanted another drink. By the time someone finally asked if we wanted another round, we were already done eating. When we asked where our waitress was, we were told she had gone home early. The food itself was solid — tasty enough, but nothing that really wowed us, especially for the price. Honestly, the drinks seemed to be the strongest part of the experience, but I only got to try one before we were left on our own. Not the worst night out, but definitely not the service or standout flavors we were hoping for.

Drinks were very good and had a fun selection. Our food was good but a bit overpriced. Our waiter was lovely, but the hosts were un-accommodating when it rained on our outdoor dinner (despite many free indoor tables) and overall a bit rude.

Higher prices but good quality: both tofu mushrooms crepe and pea pod stems were kind of oily but it’s expected in a Chinese restaurant. We also got the vegetarian summer rolls, also fried and oily.

Had dinner here on July 4th — really appreciate that they were open on the holiday! The food was flavorful, creative, and had a unique twist while still staying true to the Chinese flavors I love. A wonderful blend of authenticity and innovation. Highly recommend!

We visited Blossom Bar on a Saturday evening a couple of weeks ago, and had a great experience. Cocktails were fantastic, and the drinks menu was really interesting. In terms of food, personally I’m not a huge lover of Sichuan peppercorn but I can generally enjoy it in moderation. My dish (kung pao chicken) had a little too much Sichuan peppercorn for my taste - but to be fair there were some options on the menu that didn’t have any in it, so it was a poor choice from me. My SO loved my dish and his own, as he doesn’t mind a stronger peppercorn flavor. Service was great and overall it was a good experience - I would definitely go back and try ordering something else.

Breakfast restaurant
Brookline Lunch is a cozy cafe that offers casual Mediterranean and American dishes for breakfast and lunch. Located near MIT, this unassuming little diner is a popular spot among students. The brick-walled cafe exudes a cozy atmosphere, making it an inviting place to enjoy a meal. Whether you're in the mood for traditional American fare or Mediterranean delights, Brookline Lunch has something to satisfy your cravings.
There are plenty of reasons why people willingly line up in the elements for a seat at this charming brunch nook. Brookline Lunch stands out not only for its cozy, welcoming atmosphere but also for its unique Middle Eastern twist on classic breakfast fare. The star of the menu — and perhaps the dish you’ll see on nearly every table — is the famed baklava pancakes. These fluffy, buttery stacks are drizzled with fragrant rose syrup, crowned with pistachios, and topped with delicate shards of filo. They’re familiar yet unexpected: part comforting pancake, part decadent baklava, but transformed into something entirely new when combined. While their indulgence may not suit every palate, they are undeniably a must-try. I also loved the Big Fish Salmon Omelette, generously filled with rough-cut vegetables that gave it a hearty, homemade feel. The portion sizes here are no joke — my two dishes were more than enough for two people to share. Service was warm and attentive despite the bustle of a full house, and the atmosphere carried that lively, friendly hum that makes a brunch outing feel special. One thing to note: they are cash only, so come prepared. If you’re looking for brunch with a cultural flair and flavors you won’t find anywhere else, Brookline Lunch is absolutely worth the wait.

Food is average. Service is below average. Little things like napkins, sugar sachets, creamer, etc. are missing from the table. You have to ask for everything to the server. They will take their time to come to take, and you're just waiting. Menus and tables surface, and seats are sticky like they have never been cleaned. The food quantity is good, though. Baklava pancakes are delicious. Very limited options for vegetarians. Average place, one-time visit!

It was a really unique experience. The food was great, had a lot of middle eastern touch to the dishes. The place is run by a family and they are very sweet, recommend and explain the bestsellers to you. The service was quick and clean. The ambience was different. Very open kitchen, little noisy. But overall great dining experience!

Best pancakes I’ve ever had in my life- the baklava pieces & chopped pistachio on top provide an amazing crunch, along with the delicious baklava filling & syrup. The shakshuka bowl and feta za’tar bowl were both great as well. I wish we lived closer so we could come here all the time.

100% worth the wait in line, definitely worth the hype. Amazing staff (thank you so much, Abeer! <3), incredible food. The baklava pancakes were outstanding. You won’t be disappointed! (it’s cash only but there’s an ATM right down the street if you need it.)

Great place, good vibes and solid food. The hype is very real. I tried their Baklava pancakes and it was fantastic. Their Turkish coffee is bound to wake you up. They are cash only so it’s better to have some on you before you go. There’s an ATM right around the corner. I went on a weekend so there was some amount of wait time involved. Would recommend going earlier to avoid waiting too long.
Kartik B — Google review
The food was great and the baklava pancakes exceeded my expectations, even as a person who’s not that much of a pancake fan. My waitress was an older woman who was just lovely, but my hostess was a very rude. I didn’t get her name, but she was a young lady with long brown hair. After being seated by the older woman, who at the time I wasn’t aware would be my waitress, the younger woman came by and asked if she could get me something to drink. Seeing how busy they were and since I already knew what I wanted I said “hi, may I please have water and I would like to start off with the baklava pancakes.” To which she promptly responded, practically cutting me off “look, I’m not here to take your order I’m just here to get your drink. Someone else will come by to take your order and we only have bottled water.” I was so stunned that I just told her I wouldn’t get anything at all to drink, that’s when she stormed away. Employees should really learn to leave their attitudes (and possibly racism) at the door especially at family run businesses like this. It just really isn’t a good look. I know it gets busy which can be overwhelming, but the last thing you should do is take your frustration out on a customer because we are essentially giving you money which keeps your business up and running. Her attitude, which showed up again later in another interaction, really soured my perception of this restaurant so I won’t be back to spend my money here. It’s a shame because I love supporting smaller businesses and I enjoyed the pancakes and steak.
Jasmine — Google review
I visited Brookline Lunch with my friend on a Saturday. The place doesn’t take reservations so be prepared to wait in a queue. We waited for around 30-40 mins to be seated. The place is so nice and the interior feels homey. We shared a shakshuka and baklava pancake. The shakshuka comes with spicy sausages but I don’t like spicy food so we ordered it without the sausages. It was dry with not enough sauce in it. Not sure of this is because we removed the meat or if it usually comes that way. As for the baklava pancake, it was good but they forgot to bring the sauce that it comes with so it also felt dry and we noticed that the sauce was missing by the end when we were looking at other people’s pancakes so it was too late to ask for it. The place is overall good but not sure if it is really worth the wait.

Lamplighter Brewing Co. - Broadway is a popular taproom in Cambridge, known for its craft beers and cozy atmosphere. Since 2016, it has been a favorite spot for locals and visitors alike. The brewery offers two venues in the city, each providing a wide selection of craft brews for patrons to savor. The original 10,000-square-foot Broadway location is great for large groups, while the Cambridge Crossing spot is renowned for its curated cheese and charcuterie boards.
A hippie hipster vibe in a good way. Wide selection of brews in varied styles that are interesting and brewed on the premises. Does flights but not food. However you can bring your own and they do occasional pop ups. Frequent events but no music due to “cabaret “ restrictions. Has been around since 2011 and has a large back room that is cozy and open when business warrants. A nice addition to the Cambridge brewpub scene.

This weekend we stumbled upon Lamplighter Brewing Company in Cambridge. It has a welcoming and hipster vibe. Really enjoyed seeing the pride flag at the bar— felt like a safe space for all. The Cambridge location is busy around the time we went, which was around noon on a Saturday. There is lots of seating in the front but also in the back which is a little more quiet. The setup is a little confusing for ordering though. There's one big line for food and coffee, but you don’t need to wait in that line to order beers. I wish we knew that because we didn’t see any signage to indicate where to order what. We also saw a lot of people sitting at the bar eating and drinking coffee, so it took a little bit to find a spot at the bar just to have a drink. I think the bar should be reserved for those looking to have a beer. A positive though is that the beer tasty— light and refreshing. I thought some of the flavors were really creative. For example, I tried the Chrysalis which I believe had notes of jasmine and honey. Overall would definitely come here again and try their food and coffee next time!

Lamplighter Brewing was a must-visit on my recent trip to Boston—and it far exceeded expectations. The vibe is exactly what you want in a brewery: laid-back, stylish, and welcoming. The beers? Phenomenal. Well Spoke is a standout German Pilsner—light and crushable but packed with flavor, not watery at all. Solstice Summer Ale was another highlight—refreshing and easy to drink without being heavy. Bonus points for the attached Pepita café, which offers great food and coffee options. All this in a beautiful part of Cambridge, making it the perfect stop on a relaxed stroll through the neighborhood. Absolutely recommend. Would come back in a heartbeat.

Maybe my favorite coffee shop of all time (and I really love coffee shops). Their drip coffee is phenomenal and their espresso is delicious as well. Great venue. Good was delicious and cheap, almost as good as it was fast. Took less than 5 minutes to get the kebab dinner to the table. Wait staff was really friendly and got us in and out of there before the doors opened next door for our show.

My wife and I came in from Connecticut for a show on Thursday night. We got to the restaurant around 7:00, we had no problem getting seated right away. Our waiter was Alex. He assured us we had plenty of time to eat before the 8:00 upstairs show. He was very friendly and patient while he described what some of the menu items were to us. Once we finished eating the line started forming to enter the show. The doors opened and the line moved quickly. All of the staff are friendly and helpful. Inside the room there is a small stage in front and a bar in the back with a good beer and liquor selection. When the room was full it was difficult to navigate through the patrons to get to the bar. We saw Sir Woman perform. It was electric, the energy was palpable. What a great intimate space to enjoy a talented artist!

I've had two dinners here and they both were very enjoyable sitting out on the patio. I typically don't like Street based seeding. However, in this case there is a bike lane and a barrier and it feels pretty quiet. The service is lovely and I particularly enjoyed the salmon. Perhaps I would describe it as no frills but it was a delicious piece of fresh fish that didn't need them. I've always enjoyed this music venue but definitely a solid choice for dinner!

This place is a hidden gem that at 43 I just found!.. its a beautiful location, multiple restaurants and multiple places for artists of all kinds to perform for everyone. They had an option to dine in and skip the line. That was great. The drinks and apps were ordered were delicious as well. The staff was great, very helpful. The older gentleman actually walked us over to where we needed to go to see the show. Crazy this place has been open since 1970 and it's just gotten bigger over the years. It's a great place to see up and coming artists. They have everything from belly dancing, to rock and roll so there is something for everyone!!!

For the record, I never or barely ever make a review anywhere I go. But The Middle East, it's worth writing about as I never had a good experience here. Don't get me wrong, the atmosphere (according to other user reviews) has improved since put up for sale and possibly sold to a new owner sometime between now and 2020 I believe. Food has probably gotten better too, but not dramatically, but honestly, I don't really think people come for the food... They come for the shows. Now for the show, well the show I went to was absolutely amazing. I had a blast and met all the performers which leads me to meeting the main act... For one, when I entered the bouncers were just flat out rude as I always experienced in previous shows. They didn't really give an answer to any of my questions and clearly did not want to be there. I understand you guys are underpaid and understaffed, but I am too and so is every venue in America is too. But also a majority of Americans are generally a lot nicer in their workplaces then these bouncers and staff in general. Anyways, I wanted to get an autograph from all the performers and that included the main act who were only meeting those who were vip. I didn't pay for vip but I was photographing for all acts and the main band was very very kind enough to let me QUICKLY get an autograph in the VIP line. So I did. And the staff clearly hated that I did although it quite frankly took 2 minutes lol. I'm not coming back. I'm not recommending anyone to go to this venue. I'm going to be asked to email the owner most likely, but I'm not going to give them the graces. I'm very grateful for the band, I'll keep my head up, and yeah don't go here.
John C — Google review
Bouncers are racist and wouldn’t let us in bc they thought we were “too drunk” despite us speaking coherently and were just a bit tipsy. He looked at a Middle Eastern man in our group and automatically said no despite him only having one drink. After they denied our access they started making fun of us despite us being in earshot and able to hear everything they were saying. Additionally, he wouldn’t listen to us when we were trying to explain our confusion and the owner just shushed us like we couldn’t understand basic English. If you are a non-white person who is under 18 trying to club here, I would NOT recommend coming to this place :))))))
Omglayla — Google review
Went last night for an event. The staff was extremely terrible. The bouncers and the bag check lady were disrespectful. They came to conclusions extremely fast. I have never ever experienced this level of disrespect in my whole life. Once I was inside the event I had a great time. The music was AMAZING don’t get me wrong. The issue is with the STAFF.

The vibes and service of this place is great, but the food is anything but. The shawarmas had a weird sauce that I hadn't even seen before, which ruined the entire taste of it. You also couldn't taste anything besides the sauce and lettuce, no chicken or other vegetables. Their onion rings were stale and looked like they'd been cooked in the same oil from several days before. Avoid the place if you're looking for a decent food experience.

Bar
Olde Magoun's Saloon in Somerville is a neighborhood bar with a laid-back vibe, offering an extensive selection of craft beers and small batch whiskies. The menu features traditional Irish pub fare like Guinness beef stew and chicken curry, as well as American favorites such as BBQ meatloaf and loaded cast-iron mac and cheese.
I love Olde Magoun's, especially their seasonal Oktoberfest menu. Solid pub food and fantastic beer selection, including some cask ales. I really wish they had a better porter/stout draught selection. A thoughtfully crafted selection of rarely encountered IPAs and lagers, but only Guinness on draught. Really??

Had a great first visit to Olde Magoun’s Saloon! We ordered the Reuben, which was thick and flavorful, really tasty overall though the meat could’ve been a bit more tender. We also tried the lemon chicken dish, which was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming. Definitely a spot worth coming back to.

Steak tips was fantastic as was the buffalo chicken crack. Our waitress was also fantastic. Can’t say enough good things about our visit here and will certainly be back

Sat at the bar, bartender placed 2 menus in front of me (same menus) without saying a word. Another bartender (much nicer/friendlier) took my order. Food, ordered burger, asked how I wanted it done. Medium rare. Showed up medium well. Won't be coming back. It's too bad because it's a great location, 1 staff member was great but the negatives outweighed the positives.

We've made a habit of dropping by on Mondays for 50 cent wings. The wings are fresh, crispy, and delicious. The plain wings are a favorite of ours. This is a testament to the quality of the chicken, frying method, and bleu cheese alone. Buffalo is also super yummy. The meal would not be complete without a rotating cast of cask beer to wash it down.

My favorite bar in the Boston area. The Linda’s nachos are soooo good! So are the wings. Truly can’t go wrong w anything on the menu. We come back every week! The main bartender Owen is incredible!

A hidden gem in Somerville/Medford! The beer list is unrivaled for the area, and the food is amazing. The wings, quesadillas, and burgers are highlights, but you really can't go wrong here. They also do a great job with more traditional pub foods like fish and chips (fridays only), mac and cheese, and bangers and mash! And if you're lucky enough to be here in the fall, the Oktoberfest menu is a thing of beauty! The staff are amazing and parking is easy in the municipal lot next door.

Shay's Pub & Wine Bar in Cambridge is a cozy garden-level pub that offers Tex-Mex, sandwiches, beer, and wine. The bar has a warm and friendly atmosphere with knowledgeable bartenders who are passionate about creating unique cocktails. It is a popular spot for locals and visitors alike, offering a grotto-like ambiance with the occasional live music performance. The menu features fresh takes on burgers and pizzas as well as an impressive raw bar selection.
Prices have gone up over the last several years but this has to be one of the best pubs in Boston area. Great atmosphere, friendly servers, friendly patrons, solid food! A fantastic place to hang out with your friends throughout the year—sit outside during the warm New England summer nights and take in the hustle and bustle of Harvard Square or sit next to the picture window in the middle of a raging snow storm while you cozy up with a pint of Guinness.

Shay’s Pub is a gem. It’s the kind of place you walk into once and instantly know you’ll be coming back. The vibe is calm, friendly, and just right for chilling out, having real conversations, and unwinding after a long day. The staff is incredibly nice and welcoming. Sean really stood out—he was busy as hell but somehow kept everything under control. You can tell he’s been doing this for a while because everything he did was smooth and on point. He made me feel taken care of, even in the middle of the rush. I’m genuinely happy I found this place. There’s nothing better than grabbing a cold Miller Lite after some miles around the river and just soaking in a good atmosphere. Shay’s feels like one of those places that becomes part of your routine without even trying.

Have been going to Shay’s off and on for the last two decades and always loved its warm and cozy atmosphere, amazing food and great selection of beers on tap. Bow Market, located in Somerville, has transformed from a former storage building into a vibrant hub of local boutiques, cafes, and art shops surrounding a central courtyard. With 30 individual drinking, dining, and shopping destinations to explore, visitors can indulge in a diverse array of global flavors. From Filipino specialties at Tanam to savory empanadas at Buenas and plant-based comfort food at Saus, there's something for every palate.
A fun place to stop by in the winter. All the vendors were nice. I specifically loved the pinball spot and Amantolli (Mexican goods shop). I bet it's even nicer in the warmer months. It's a cute little gem if you're exploring the Boston area.

It's a lively community space to sit down and eat or to visit boutique shops. Lots of retail shops, culinary delights in this unique two story pentagonal design surrounding with a central courtyard. Some of tge outdoor seating areas adorned with sun umbrellas during summer and fire places during winter. Felt like a Christmas holiday market vibe.

It feels like a Hallmark set! We stopped by on Sunday, 12/1/2024, around 4:00 p.m., and most of the stores were still open, but it was quite empty—great for those who prefer to avoid crowds. We were able to pick up a few super cute stocking stuffers.

I wish we had the time to come during the day, as i would have loved to experience everything here when it would be bustling and open. It was a really gorgeous place to explore though, albeit small and self contained, it was fun to stroll past all the shops on both levels to see what we could have been experiencing!! will definitely return if i ever come back to america

I can't believe it took me this long to make my way out to Bow Market. This is such a great place to do a food crawl. Even in the cold winter months, it was quite lively on a Saturday afternoon; I can only imagine how busy it gets during the summer. There are a bunch of food/drink pop-ups, mixed with retail and arts/entertainment stores. All of them are quite small, but there is plenty of seating in the center. You can eat, chill, or people-watch. There is metered parking, but it was all taken when I went, so I recommend going early to beat the crowd or expect to park further and walk.

Mae Asian Eatery is a low-key spot offering a variety of Thai, Vietnamese, and Chinese small plates, noodle bowls, and combo platters. Located on Main Street near Massachusetts Ave., this restaurant provides a polished take on traditional comfort food from these cuisines. The menu features dishes like 12-hour braised Short Rib Khao Soi, Thai General Tsos Chicken, and the vegan-friendly Thai Ma-Po Tofu.
After moving to Cambridge a year ago- this restaurant has become my #1 favorite in the area. The manager and staff are incredibly kind and efficient- pickup orders are always ready within 10-15 minutes. They have the best Pad Thai and the Tofu Khao Soi is unbelievably yummy. Could not recommend more!
Rylie D — Google review
We had an amazing dinner at Mae’s. Everything was delicious and flavorful. The restaurant looks a little run down but don’t let the appearance fool you. We ordered for 5 of us gyoza, Kah Moo, Drunken Crazy Noodles, Pad Krapow, cashew gai krob, house specialty red curry with duck. Gyoza filling was delicious. Kah Moo was interesting and a bit plain though perfectly fried, and the fried pork belly in pad krapow was delicious though a little different than what I had imagined. We had no left overs…just the right portions. We would come back in a heartbeat.

Cannot emphasize enough how great Mae Asian Eatery is! We recently stopped in for dinner and would definitely return. The food was fantastic -- a Chinese-Thai fusion that was really yummy. The service was also outstanding. It was super fast (especially impressive considering how busy it was), everyone was very kind, and we got to speak with the owner afterward who told us about the food (the secret to how yummy it is? His wife is the chef!) and the history behind the name. Just an all-around great experience and cool local business we were happy to visit.
Emma K — Google review
I write this as I sit here in complete and utter shock. No joke. The gentleman that took our order was so kind, welcoming and so professional. His demeanor, combined with the smell of what appeared to be dark soy sauce is what lured me in. I admit, I took the bait. We ordered a mix of appetizers, two mains and two beverages totaling approximate $90 so something that actually valued 90 cents. What confidence one would have to have in order to go into the restaurant business without the skill of being able to cook the most basic food. The food at Mae Asian Eatery is completely void of flavor - FLAVORLESS. You might as well be noshing on garden variety cardboard.. I feel so badly as I do not take people's kindness for granted by kindness does not make a $90 hard earned dollar menu tasty. So, no. Just NO! Find someplace else to go.

Sheger Cafe and Ethiopian Restaurant LLC offers an incredible Ethiopian dining experience, ranking among the best on the East Coast. The restaurant serves generous portions of delicious food, including appetizing Ethiopian samosas and mouthwatering baklava for dessert. While seating is limited, it's a great spot for a quick bite with excellent vegetarian and vegan options. Although service may be slow due to limited staff, the delectable food makes it worth the visit.
Incredible Ethiopian cuisine. I have been to many Ethiopian restaurants up and down the east coast from DC, to NYC, and Boston ... Sheger is among the best - including the famed DC Adams Morgan restaurants. As you can see from the photo, we had a massive amount of food shared between three people. The Ethiopian samosa appetisers were great and the food arrived quickly. We took home leftovers and saved room for the baklava dessert which was fantastic. Highly recommended.
Rod N — Google review
LACK OF INTEGRITY!! UPDATE - we left our customer copy of bill at the table. The restaurant decided to tip themselves more than what we had tipped them. Lack of integrity and honesty. Never seen any other restaurant do this. Pathetic people. Never going back again and will NOT recommend anybody to go here. Reducing from 3 star to 1 star. Previous review!! Quite unhappy with the restaurant. I have had Ethiopian food in NY, Boston & DC and this place was not as good. I had ordered vegetarian combination platter and the quantity of each side dish was so much LESSER than what is usually served at other Ethiopian restaurants and nobody charges for additional injera when you purchase a combo platter. I was charged extra $2 here. I also ordered samosa and only 1 mini samosa was served for $3. Other places serve 2 samosas. The restaurant was otherwise well maintained. The food was served quickly. Washrooms were clean, injera was decent and the side dishes were okay( Curries were not creamy ). One side was missing but they served a boring salad instead. Not going here again. If you’re trying Ethiopian for the first time this is not the place to go.
Drew R — Google review
The place doesn't have much seating. 3 to 4 families can sit at a time. There was only one person who was serving, taking orders, managing the counter so the service was little slow but since I had time, I didn't mind. Anyways, no complaints about the food. It was delicious, and huge portion, I couldn't finish. Had to take away the rest but my mouth still waters thinking about it. I would recommend this place for take out rather than dine in. For dine in, they have the space but they need to improve few things.
Mishkat K — Google review
Really excellent Ethiopian food with super fast and attentive service! We got the ultimate platter for 2 both times and EVERY item on it was delish! Only drawbacks are that you don't get a lot of food for the price, and like others said, the injera is cold so it cools the food down pretty quickly. They also don't have a sign up after 6 months and it's very small and easy to walk by, so hopefully they'll boost their marketing a bit!
Gwendolyn S — Google review
Great place for a quick bite. Must try their Baklava. Not a lot of drink options but had amazing vegetarian and vegan options. Must try their combo platter.
Vikram S — Google review
I was very disappointed. I love Ethiopian food so much and I never thought this place would be this much of a disappointment. As soon as we arrived we knew right away we made a wrong decision by come to this restaurant. The restaurant was empty and there was no aroma of Ethiopian food upon arrival. The restaurant was cold and there was lack of soap in the bathrooms. We ordered our food and less than 10 minutes later the food came out. As soon as we saw the plated food, we knew for certain that the food will not be delicious. Everything on the plate was let over food that was served. The food was cold, flavorless, and not freshly made. We ate as much as our stomach could handle and left the rest of the food because it was too hard to finish. It was the first time ever eating at an Ethiopian restaurant and leaving left over food on the table. With that being said, I would not recommend this restaurant at all. We did not feel like we were eating at a restaurant nor eating the delicious flavors of Ethiopian cuisine.

Harvard Yard is one of the most beautiful and historic places to visit in the Boston area. Walking through the Yard feels like stepping into a living museum, surrounded by red brick buildings, centuries of history, and the unmistakable atmosphere of one of the world’s most prestigious universities. The grounds are immaculately kept, with large shade trees and open green spaces that make it both peaceful and inspiring. The Yard itself is more than just a campus quad, it is the heart of Harvard University. You will find some of the oldest buildings here, along with landmarks such as the famous John Harvard statue. There is a constant mix of students, professors, visitors, and tour groups, which gives the place a lively, intellectual energy. Despite the activity, it still feels like a quiet retreat in the middle of the city. What makes Harvard Yard special is how accessible it is to people of all ages. Families with children can enjoy the wide open lawns, older visitors can appreciate the rich history and architecture, and anyone with a love for learning will feel the significance of the setting. Whether you are here to take a guided tour, explore the campus on your own, or simply sit under a tree and enjoy the surroundings, there is something memorable about the experience. The surrounding Harvard Square area adds even more to the visit, with bookstores, cafes, and shops just steps away. It is easy to spend a full afternoon here, combining the history of Harvard Yard with the vibrant culture of Cambridge. Overall, Harvard Yard is a gorgeous, inspiring place that is absolutely worth seeing. It captures both the weight of history and the spirit of curiosity that defines Harvard. For anyone visiting Boston or Cambridge, a stop at Harvard Yard is a must.

A beautiful park right in front of the Harvard library. It is also the place where commencement occurs. We were here right before the 6,000 graduates heading to the real world. A nice visit.
C N — Google review
Inside Harvard Square, there is a library, a statue of John Harvard, and the Harvard Art Museum. John Harvard was a Puritan clergyman from the Kingdom and the founder of Harvard University, a prestigious private university in the United States. Before he died of tuberculosis in 1638, he donated his estate (776 pounds sterling and 400 books) to 'New College', which was established in 1636. In 1639, New College was renamed Harvard University in his honor, and you can still see his statue at Harvard University today. There is a popular belief that if everyone touch the feet of the John Harvard statue, you will be accepted to Harvard University. That is why you can see the tips of the statue's shoes turning white from the feet of so many people who visit or tour Harvard University. Also, in the past, protests were often held at the John Harvard statue for social issues or on-campus strikes. The quaint brownstone buildings within the campus blend in well with the old trees. Tourists visiting Harvard University should plan their itinerary around Harvard Square, where the John Harvard statue is located, and the Harvard Art Museum. Parking is available at the coin-operated parking lot on Quincy Street between the Harvard Art Museum and Harvard Square.

Beautifully maintained reservation geared towards locals, many of whom like to walk their dogs. Visitors would benefit to know in advance that dogs belonging to Cambridge residents are allowed to be off leash and are plentiful. Cambridge parking sticker is required to park in the lot and tickets are issued daily . If you picnic here, you are picnicking with dogs. Danahey Park just around the corner is better geared towards picnicking and child play w/ grills, tables, soccer fields and playground. Haley.Henry is a stylish and intimate wine bar located on a downtown side street, offering a unique experience away from the flashy bars and high-rise real estate. The bar features an extensive selection of small-production wines by the glass and an impressive bottle list. The industrial-chic ambiance with smoldering wooden interiors creates a welcoming atmosphere for both wine connoisseurs and beginners.
Super cute and fun restaurant for something different. Great wine selection and very giving with the tasting so you find something you like. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a unique experience.

Good atmosphere in this small space. I really enjoyed all the art and trinkets on the walls. The staff were helpful. It was great to see how they work together in such space! The mushroom toast was good, as well as the slider. The warm lentil salad was a fine veg option. My partner had the hot dog special and enjoyed it. I just wish they had more affordable wines, with the lowest price of a bottle (that we could see) being $70. Overall, it was a good experience.

A wonderful experience at this cozy wine bar. The atmosphere was intimate and relaxed, perfect for a post-work weeknight catch-up. The servers were excellent...knowledgeable and attentive, offering great recommendations for both wine and food. I love the wine and food but the service provided here has been so special the two times I've gone! My first time the bartenders chatted with us and were hilarious the entire time. The second our server was amazing and educational and patient, as we had limited knowledge of wines. They even ran after me through the street when I left a flower I'd been carrying behind! So sweet. Night club
Havana Club is a lively salsa club with dancing and lessons, as well as its own bar serving beer, wine and cocktails. It is open five nights a week and attracts both Latino and international crowds. The beginner class at 9pm is great for first-time dancers.
Good place for dancing Bachata/salsa. Went there on a Friday night. There was one hour intro lesson for beginners & intermediate levels. Had good time social dancing afterwards. Place is beginner friendly and had some good experienced dancers on the floor as well.
Rohit K — Google review
Very fun, the teachers were great and took a step by step approach to salsa and bachata. They go pretty quick which is nice if you want to pick it up quickly for fun, its not really the place to learn the serious fundamentals of the dance. Well ventilated inside, fun community, and 18+ hours on certain days. Great as a group activity—i will be back!
Jun S — Google review
Lots of fun. If you like a crowded dancefloor, Friday & Saturday nights are for you, but watch out for the underskilled men who have had a few drinks and try to lead big moves despite not knowing how to lead them properly. If you like more space to do big moves, Sundays are a lot of fun, with enough people to make it interesting but not so much that people bump into you. If I lived closer I'd probably go 6 days a week. Friendly staff.
Tim K — Google review
The Bachata lessons are really fun, even as an introvert who has avoided dancing my entire life. The instructors are very helpful and provide ample time for everyone to practice the dance moves before opening the dance floor for the remainder of the night.
Daniel F — Google review
Havana club is so special to me, it was there that I made many friends and I was very well received by this beautiful dance community!
Fernando D — Google review
Went here for a lesson and social on a Tuesday. the instructors were very knowledgeable, they made sure we got the steps right. The social was fun too. The place is clean and they have a coat rack and enough space for people to dance without clashing into each other.
Anushree D — Google review
Been salsa dancing for years, and visit f Boston for the first time I was quite happy with the scene! Though was mostly bachata (80%), was a great atmosphere and good vibes. highly recommend if you’re looking to dance the night away!
Dennis C — Google review
Had a great time! Super friendly people, good music, plenty of room to dance and people to dance with. Wish it went a little later. Take cash. Keep your eyes peeled for the entrance. If you go on a Tuesday night, expect a lot of beginners and room to dance.

Wine bar
Nestled in Somerville's Bow Market, Rebel Rebel is a trendy spot that offers natural wines in a cozy, candle-lit setting adorned with local art. The 20-seat bar showcases an ever-changing selection of offbeat wines, including unique options like Austrian producer Meinklang's night-harvested Nacht.
This is a great place! Everyone is kind and knowledgeable and will take the time to make sure you get the perfect glass of wine you are looking for! Their wine list is always in rotation so there are always new things to discover!
Brian D — Google review
Read through the replies of the owner to some of the one star reviews. Supremely immature and unprofessional. They seriously should try treating people with a little more respect. This place is actually quite cool, but it rips you off with what is essentially a hidden fee. You get a glass of wine that’s listed for $17, but end up paying $25 because of automatic 20% gratuity. I’m fine with paying a tip, but it should not be automatically included. Also, 20% tip for pouring a glass of wine is kinda crazy. I get if I’m seated getting served a meal, or if I’m getting a fancy cocktail. But not for just pouring a glass. That’s barely service. It’s only marginally less insane than asking for a tip at a self checkout counter. If you need to charge $25 per glass, then please just list that price on the menu. I’d be willing to pay that for a good glass (maybe not at a place with such bad service, but that’s a separate issue). But it makes me irate if I expect to pay $17 and then suddenly get a bill that’s like 40% higher. If you need to trick and rip off your customers to make ends meet, then your business model is a failure and you should close up shop.

my wine was served in the same plastic cup i sampled it in. cute place but was very confused. 2 stars because i did get to stroll throughout somerville with a cup of wine, but in that case i would’ve just gotten it from the store.

I can't believe I have never left a review! Rebel Rebel has been one of my favorite spots and a continuous source of inspiration and discovery over the past 7 years. Terrific wine! Magical experiences ✨ Thanks to the team, and Lauren, for being radical leaders in our community. I love you all ❤️
Sandrine R — Google review
Fantastic menu of unique wines (many, if not all, are natural wines). Staff are really lovely and helped me and my husband select wines that we enjoyed very much. The space is intimate and has a great vibe. If I lived nearby, I'd be a regular for sure.
Catherine M — Google review
Impeccable knowledge of their wine and their patrons. I walk in without a plan (because I know nothing about wine), trusting the bartenders instead to 'take me on a journey'. They never disappoint. A lively yet personal space that is thoughtful about curating a good time for all.
Gillian W — Google review
Better late than never! I went to Rebel Rebel for the first time this spring—I don't live in Boston but was visiting a friend who organized an event there. Honestly, my trip made me consider moving to Boston just to be able to hang out there. It can be kind of lonely to be queer/lesbian in the wine space, so it was insanely refreshing to be in such a welcoming space that serves such great wine. I also love that they value their workers and include gratuity on the check—people often underestimate the amount of training and education that goes into working in the hospitality industry. Service has value! And people who work in service deserve to be paid fairly for their time and energy.
Mercedes W — Google review
Rebel Rebel is a special space where you can enjoy your new favorite wine and meet new friends and neighbors. Lauren and the team are wonderful humans who guide you to great natural wines in an approachable way. Go for the wine, stay for the vibes.

The Head of the Charles Regatta is a must-see event in Cambridge during late October. It's the largest 2-day regatta globally, featuring over 10,000 athletes rowing in 1,900 boats along the Charles River and drawing more than 200,000 spectators. For racers, it's a fantastic experience while for spectators, there are various spots to cheer on the rowers.
This is a wonderful weekend. For racers a fantastic event. Do it if you ever have a chance. For spectators, pick your spot! The rowers can hear you as they come under the Weeks footbridge; the trickiest turn is under the Eliot bridge (also where the announcers are located, and they identify each crew and often offer a bit of history and words of encouragement as they go by); and the finish line offers food, vendors of all descriptions, and the chance to say "hi" to your rowers after they relax.
Steve P — Google review
I heard this is “fun” to go to - my mother went this weekend and one of the guys checking IDs made a comment about her age/appearance. Such a cool, cool guy. Unfortunate he had to bring the entire mood down with his unnecessary commentary.
Kate S — Google review
The head of the Charles was an amazing event. My school raced in it and it was thrilling to watch them go down the river. It was very crowded and packed full of commercial venders. Food is quite limited and overpriced. I would recommend just going to real restaurant and getting food if you have the time. If you have never been to the Head Of The Charles, then you should put this on your list.
Ahri W — Google review
Had a good time at the 2016 event watching the crews go by in challenging conditions. Very interesting to visit all the equipment vendors! Great crowd.
B. S — Google review
Epic event! Well run and well attended. Just need more water trucks to refill water bottles. Thank you all the volunteers.

Rick H — Google review
What an excellent regatta! I raced here on 10/19/13 and was really impressed by the size of the regatta and the excellent coordination that went into making this race run seamlessly. The Charles is a stellar course!
