It's an arcade bar, exactly what you want for a fun night. Spacious and lots of spots you can post up and enjoy a chat and drink. Played some games, they all worked. Bartenders were quick and good. All mix of people
Charles L — Google review
Very cool place, well stationed and decorated, I liked the multiple areas and sets along with the music accompanied. One gripe would be the poor customer service.
Alexios K — Google review
I think this place has a little bit of everything for all the tasets. If you want a bar, there are 2 sections for that. If you want to just play games, again, there are 2 rooms with a variety of games . If you want to dance upstairs is a dance floor! The music is overall good, and the drinks are quite well priced!
Sheida R — Google review
Nice bar!! They have a huge space, with different environments. There are a type of club, and 3 floors with a bunch of arcades game, like pinball, they also have a SNES with Super Mario game for free! On average the staff from the bar are very friendly! With affordable price for beers!
Mario A — Google review
Barcade is a great go-to! There are multiple sections with different vibes (upstairs is more of a club vibe while the first floor is more laid back) and lots of pinball games. Drinks are nothing special, but you go there for the games, after all.
Anna M — Google review
I'm visiting from Miami. I came to celebrate my sister's birthday. We decided to go to the arcade bar to do something fun to celebrate! We're standing outside of it and both doors are locked even though it's supposed to be open. One of the doors says be back in 5 minutes. We've waited 15 minutes and nothing. We left !!!
Erika G — Google review
I had a really great time here. Tons of variety, and great options for alcohol. Felt like I was in college when I was here. I recommend coming with friends, at least one to have a good time. Also having money to drop is a pretty good idea, you’ll have more fun

Okay this is place is a Gainesville staple. Salty salty salty what can I say. The food is surprisingly good. The drinks are surprisingly cheap if you ever go to Gainesville you need to go to Salty Dog.

This here is the definition of the ultra college dive bar in any SEC college town, absolutely packed and a ton of fun!!
Sammy K — Google review
You don't have to make someone feel like a leper because they're not college aged. Not everyone is out to harm someone because they are an older male. I was there just to enjoy the atmosphere and a drink but did not feel welcome with weird looks. Was kind of ripped off with the shot sizes and the price for a pint of beer. The second round of shot was larger because they could see my original frustration LOL so I thank him for that. Not too warm though.
Euro D — Google review
Loved the prices of the drinkz. Other than that, I came here while exploring the area on an overnight w/ my CA n FO. The bar was quiet other than us 3, there were 2 male customers and the 2 guyz behind the bar. At one point, I and one other female customer were the only femalez. There's an updated jukebox that worx through an app or right there n person. Keep in mind that one song is worth 2 credits/ aka $1. If you open a tab, you must put a card on file. If you're like me and pay cash, then you will b expected to pay after each drink before you can order another. The drinx I got were good and under $5 each. I definitely recommend getn a drink here if anything. I didn't have n e food so I can't comment about food, and to be honest, I don't know if they offer food.
FA G — Google review
Beer was cheap. I didn't eat their food, I wasn't brave enough. Service was ok. I did meet some cool people in there. Overall good experience.
Jesse J — Google review
The male bartender is miserable and definitely treated us as outsiders. He was rude to a other people also
Michael M — Google review
I've been hearing great things about this place from a few friends that frequent here especially about the food. Very fun atmosphere, good music. I didn't have any drinks but they seemed to have a good selection. Unfortunately, the food was rather disappointing especially since it was the whole reason I decided to come when I made it to town. Ordered the garlic knots & curly fries, can't remember what my friends ordered. The fries were the best part, sour cream would have been the icing on the cake. The garlic knots on the other hand were very dry & hard my mouth got tired from chewing. Due to how late it was (close to midnight) I'll chop it up to they probably thought everyone would have enough liquor in their system to be satisfied just to have food in their stomachs. I'll try this place during the day for lunch & see if the food is better around that time.

A very nice little bar. At times it can be busy, but their drinks are always good!
Kex — Google review
Went to this bar last night with two girl friends just for one drink. I’m not sure if the bartender (brown haired male with a long ponytail) was having a bad day, but he’s was so rude/extremely condescending to all three of us. Started when one of my friends ordered a G&T and then asked to close her tab - which he responded with a rude remark. He made an additional remark when myself and my other girl friend closed our tab as well. Last thing he did was snap at my friend when she tried to move a barstool so we could all sit at a table together. I was shocked with how hostile he was since we had just arrived and had never spoken to him before/ever came to this bar before. I will not be returning and do not recommend this bar to anyone who is just stopping in for a quick drink. Although the G&T we got was very good, the bartender really ruined the mood and our first experience here. I hope no one else had to deal with his behavior that night.
Jaq M — Google review
I went in tonight and had the best experience. The bartender (blonde hair and tiny rimmed glasses) was amazing. I ordered a vodka grapefruit and my friend ordered a drink from the menu. A vodka grapefruit is my drink of choice and this was by far the best I’ve ever had. Highly recommend!!!
Arielle T — Google review
Nice little hole in the wall. I went in on a Monday and the bar was packed with locals. The bartender with the curly blonde hair made tasty drinks. He was a little antagonistic to guests and sarcastically told me he only worked behind the bar for 10 minutes when I was trying to make conversation, but he seemed busy. They also don't serve the tables so make sure you go to the bar. Will be coming back!
Gregory H — Google review
The best cocktails in town!!! They know how to make unique and delicious drinks for sure! Highly recommend stopping in and getting a drink. Music is always on point too!!!
Christopher O — Google review
Wonderful bartenders. Literally the best whiskey sour I've ever had. This is the place to go when you want a good drink and a good conversation. This is my favorite spot to go read a book in the evening.
Alyssa C — Google review
Hands down, the best bar in downtown Gainesville if not the whole city. The bartenders are masters of their craft, extremely well-versed in all things cocktail culture and fantastic hosts. From the moment you walk in, you're treated like family; the perfect Mad Man style, mid-century modern decor is just the cherry on the sundae. I come here as often as my wallet allows.
Walt G — Google review
This bar is beautiful! The drinks are extreamly strong, it's a fun old time feel to this bar. Some of the staff is nice and sweet, others are stuck up and snobby, hence the two misding stars. Other then that we had a great time.

Bry and Jacob set an amazing tone for this place. Super laid back friendly and welcoming. So glad I stopped in. It felt like home. Will be back. You guys rock.

The bill is tiny. It is friendly. They have a small selection of really great beers. They seem to have a lot more “art house” events if that’s what you’re looking for. . If you’re coming down to the fest they seem to host primarily outdoor acoustic events. And don’t worry they still had all your pbr deals.

Always love their services and drinks! A must visit in Gainesville. Plus they have good Guinness in town!

This was our first time here. All the food we ordered came out great, fresh and tasty. Server was friendly and attentive. Restaurant was very clean and tidy even the bathrooms to my surprise, and it was nice that they also had a baby changing station since I was traveling with a baby.

Really disappointed they were out of the fried gator tail. Overall food was good. Nice portions. Tasty. Atmosphere was good. Local band playing during dinner. Some locals and band family at the bar enjoying. Nice place to come to. Good atmosphere. The outside area had another band playing just prior. Kids playing. Adults drinking. Nice chill place.
Peter Z — Google review
The food, service, and atmosphere was perfect! My server was very kind and attentive and my lobster bisque was light yet delicious and the shrimp and grits were heavenly and decadent. Not to be forgotten, the cocktails were also exquisite and not too strong. The performers were outstanding and really got the room excited for every single song they played! We had a great time just sitting there and listening.
Celine D — Google review
Been wanting to visit this place for a while and I was not disappointed. It was very lively and packed on a Saturday night, but my boyfriend and I still got seated right away. We chose to sit outside because the music is very very loud, which I enjoyed but I still wanted to be able to hear so outside ended up being perfect. We actually got a table that afforded some privacy even with how busy it was which was nice. Our waiter was super attentive and friendly. Our food came out fairly quickly. We started with the crab and shrimp dip which was pretty good, although I felt it could’ve been a bit more creamy and less liquidy. Nevertheless I enjoyed it. My boyfriend and I shared the crab cakes. I really liked them and the fries that they came with and sharing this appetizer and dinner was enough to fill us up. As for the drinks my boyfriend originally ordered a spicy margarita which he did not like because it was spicier than he expected. Luckily, our waitress was very nice for swapping out the drink and not charging. He ordered a traditional margarita which he enjoyed much more. I ordered the strawberry daiquiri which was pretty big, but not as strong as I expected. It didn’t taste like it had any alcohol. Still I enjoyed the drink. Overall I really enjoyed my experience here and will be returning. Compared to some other restaurants in celebration pointe, this place is not as expensive while still delivering good food and service.
Britney M — Google review
My wife and I had a wonderful diner and enjoyed the piano music on the night of our visit. The food was simply amazing and the presentation was really nice. Service was great and the atmosphere was even better with all the restaurant joining in with the music and songs being played. It made for a very fun night out together.
RICHARD B — Google review
Our waitress was great and they played all the songs we requested. Our waitress name was Destiny I believe and she checked on us all night even after dinner. We just had two appetizers and the portion was so much we couldn't even finish it all. My son had the coconut shrimp which where huge I finished his last one and I had the chilli loaded chips I had to take the rest home in a box. We went Saturday night stopped in before a movie. We were having so much fun we skipped the movie and returned the next night for another exciting time. My son so inspired we had to go get him a new keyboard.
Linkon S — Google review
Came here to see a friend play in his Jazz Band. Very nice atmosphere and great food but a bit pricey. Quality was fantastic and food was made very well. I believe the higher premium I pay in price is due to the entertainment and location/atmosphere which is well worth the experience. Overall great food, service and entertainment!
Alexander N — Google review
I love the location in the heart of celebration point. The ambience is light and chill. Definitely a great place to chill and have a drink. We did not eat in this trip due to us coming from a good event. Visited around 9pm on a Saturday and they had a piano act. I love loud things but this was on the edge of not tolerable. Couldn’t talk over it for just chatting amongst friends. The singing and play was nice do t get me wrong. Just needed a touch lower on the speakers. Staff was super helpful and friendly. Table order mango margarita, regular margarita and a Long Island. The margaritas were fantastic but the Long Island was a bust. Seemed watery and too much sour for a Long Island but maybe just a one off. Really loved the Mango one. Power went out but they did everything possible to keep it moving. Want to return for food next time. Total recommend at this point.

If you are in Gainesville this is a must!!! The drinks are made perfect each and every single time. The drag shows are the best!!! Grab a bucket to drink, vodka or rum base and will get you feeling great. Top bar always has cool events to check out. The bartenders are always on point!!!

I try to be a regular here and support it as much as possible. Often here with friends or seeking a friend of my own. Always super nice people and the drinks are good. They are reasonably priced for Gainesville, too. Dance floor is usually packed and if you're alone, sometimes people will offer to dance with you. Have met people from all over the world here this way! My only complaint is it's hard to see sometimes for shows when you're closer to the wall and people are standing. You kind of have to stand too. Holidays - especially Halloween - are the most fun here!

I wish I could give this place a higher rating, but do to a few things I've noticed I cannot... I've noticed that there is lack of communication within the management and the security team (the security team is wonderful though) that causes the atmosphere to feel stressful at times. Than the lack of AC used during some nights, makes it feel like a sauna and people have passed out from it more then once (I saw this happening 3 times in one night). The drag performances are amazing on the other hand, but I feel like people just don't respect that the performers need the floors open during their show (meaning I've seen people block off the stairs where some of them like to perform). Otherwise this place is a really good place to visit no matter your walk of life and sexuality. I'd just honestly like to see more then two security guards on shift at a time, so it feels safer and that way things are easier to be managed within the club, plus a sign on the front door may help some people know that the entryway is in the back of the building (I think this would also help security be able to do their job more efficiently as well). ** *** **** Below are some of the photos, I've taken and have noticed the stairs being blocked off by people.

Bar & grill
Grog House Grill is a popular spot in midtown Gainesville, known for its friendly bartenders and happy vibe. It's considered the top college bar in the area and a favorite Friday night destination. The wooden floors and tables, along with great drink specials and music from the late 90s and early 2000s, create an inviting atmosphere. Located near Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, it's a perfect place to celebrate a Gator win.
Best place I’ve ever been to. Brits will love the ambiance, the food was to die for. The fight at the end of the night was smashing. Love the sticky carpets. Lazy eyed Larry always kept the shots coming.

Save your time and go somewhere else. Hundreds of better bars around it. Filled with a bunch of empty souls. No energy, no movement. Looks like a funeral always.

The food is horrible, had me blowin’ chunks. And now you need student ID to even get in anymore
Blue M — Google review
I got my second drink, and asked for an “extra dry” vodka cranberry. The bar tender said he didn’t understand what I meant, and served me a regular lemonade after throwing out the extra dry vodka cranberry after taking my tip. Never come here, unless you want to experience a bar full of inexperienced college drinkers and get served by dim witted bar tenders.

Top notch security!! Was able to spot my 20.989 year old friend taking a sip of fireball 4 days before her birthday and throw her out!! Great service.. was able to escort her down the stairs (which are very slippery) and tear her band off! Did take two tries to get the band off and she eventually took it off herself (so minus 1 star)!! Great music and cheap drinks (not for my friend though)!
Maddy L — Google review
Literally the worst place I have ever been to! I went for the first time after a football game and my fun night turned into one of the WORST experiences ever!!! There were 10 guys for every girl and all of them were super creepy! I expected college students but all of the guys were at least 35. I got hit on by the same people multiple times and even after repeatedly saying “no”, “please do not touch me”, “i’m not interested”, and more, they still did not leave me and my friends alone. I moved spots every couple minutes at the place cause i couldn’t even have a good time without some guy trying to creepily dance on me. One guy kept harassing me and tried to grab me and that is when i snapped and left. I know some people may enjoy this bar, but it is a TERRIBLE place for college girls, let alone anyone. Overall i had the worst time ever and will NOT be returning. It’s creepy, dirty, and the harassment is something i have never experienced anywhere else. You’re better staying at home but if you go, be prepared to push away creeps trying to dance on you and spike your drinks.
Ashleigh — Google review
In the experiences I had with go out to different places I would say this is one of the worst places I’ve been too. The alcohol is cheap but you can get that at any other college bar. The bouncers and staff are terribly rude and the cover fee is wayyyy overpriced. In my opinion your better off elsewhere:(
S2403 — Google review
Total beta boy bartending, and using this platform to work out his issues I walked in sober, and they had up a list of specials, but it was 12 minutes til turn of midnite, so i asked which of the specials pertained in the current moment. He replied curtly and unfriendly, that he would not serve someone who 'didn't know what day it was' I'm 52, arrived hoping to enjoy my first drink of the day, am a lawyer and carry myself kindly, in good humor, and well-dressed. White Buffalo is a new bar in Gainesville that offers liquor and craft beers from local distilleries, as well as an eclectic menu of Onion rings, buffalo sausage, and pork meat. It's a great place to go for fun and to feel like part of the community.
Always have a great time when we go out here, the host and promoters do all they can to ensure that the guests have a great time. shoutout to Miles the general manager.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. If you like personal space this place isn’t for you. I went there last week to check the place out and it was so incredibly packed that I could barely get my way through the crowd, I had to push and shove people to get anywhere in the club. They needed to stop letting people in, but they keep pushing more & more people into the tiny space that they have. It probably wouldn’t be too bad if that stopped letting people in when they reached the capacity.

Went last night. No cover and place was empty weekend before Thanksgiving. Doorman let our friend in with their empty cup to use for drinks. Then the bouncer inside “confiscated” her drink about 25 minutes later thinking it was an outside drink. But didn’t ask the doorman about it, but instead asked a guy inside in a suit? Bouncer was trying to play tough guy and must have known he looked like an idiot. You look real cool roughing customers up in a nearly empty bar. We tried to tell him but kept acting like we were trying to fool him or something.

Homophobia on the first day of pride month? I had no interest in going to that lame looking place, but my female friends wanted to. I was wearing a crop tank top and the door guy looked at me up and down and said “we don’t allow ppl in tank tops”. I know the tank top was not the problem... I felt grateful for turning around and going where I actually wanted to go (specially after looking at their Instagram and seeing how female-deprecating they are while making their female staff wear guess what? Really tight crop tank tops to force them to show their bodies), but I still wanted to expose the homophobia here 🤙🏾

This place was jumping last Thursday night! We were in the area on a vacation. The big white Buffalo upfront right after you enter the bar/club to your immediate right. Hence the name White Buffalo. The hosts there and door guys were chill and cool. We found some nice women. Id love to converse and dance with her I hope we hear from them soon when were there.

It may have been a slow Saturday night so there weren't much people. The music choices were good and sounded good throughout the place. The drinks were okay, I had to drink part of it first to mix it and get the flavor of aomething besides alcohol (vodka and cranberry), as I think the bartender poured it backwards. But the staff were friendly and gave us a free round of lemon drops on the house.

Was out for the evening a few weeks ago and White Buffalo was one of the places I was possibly going to check out . My goal was to find a place with live music . I approached the entrance of the Buffalo around 9pm and I asked a young man who was appropriately dressed to be staff if there was any live music possibly tonight and he told me that “ it not a thing downtown “ thinking to myself that obviously he is not familiar with the downtown entertainment . He then continued chatting with his friends and had no desire to invite me in to have a cocktail at the bar or check the place out . I then went to Looseys where they had a band and I had a great time .

The bar is a little simple big open space but it’s clean and feels modern. A barn warehouse with a small single bar in the middle. It was pretty empty but the bar tender was attentive to me and the White Buffalo drink was great. This is a nice place for people who want to just hang out and grab a drink.

Located near the historic Hippodrome theater in Downtown Gainesville, Boca Fiesta offers Mexican cuisine with a Floridian twist. The restaurant features a variety of tacos including gator and vegetarian options, along with an extensive list of tequila brands and beers. With an upstairs bar and downstairs stage hosting local and touring acts, Boca Fiesta is a lively spot for entertainment. Additionally, its outdoor patio provides a charming setting for dining.
The shrimp taco was my absolute favorite, but the fish, beef, and chicken tacos were all delicious too! Customer service was fantastic. We initially ordered takeout but decided to dine in at the last minute, and they were incredibly accommodating. The food was amazing – definitely recommend and will definitely be back!"

The food was amazing and the margs were even better!! The al pastor tacos were our favorite taco!
Emma L — Google review
The make-your-own guacamole is bad; they only provide avocado, minced garlic, salt and pepper. Tacos are quite tasty. I recommend fish tacos and gator tacos. Also, I enjoy the atmosphere in this restaurant.
Yu Z — Google review
The fish tacos are out of this world!! So we were visiting Gainesville the weekend that UF had it's graduation weekend, and all restaurants were super packed including this one. The wait time was 2 hours. But they had enough space for us to be seated at the bar in the back and then get take out (which was ~20 mins). The Moscow mule was pretty good (for just $5) and the tacos were yummy. Shrimp and steak tacos were good, but the fish taco was just freaking amazing!

The food was amazing we had chorizo and queso blackened fish tacos and a Gator burrito bowl all of it was absolutely delicious the service we received from Maggie was simply amazing she took fantastic care of us and the atmosphere is very laid back and comfortable ive been here many times and intend on coming back a few more times

The tacos were so delicious we returned for another meal before leaving this week. They have 2 for $5 on Taco Tuesdays and other specials the rest of the week. Be sure to let your server know if you don’t like cilantro. Everything was delicious, but I was especially fond of the Tempeh tacos, so flavorful! The salsa and chips taste fresh and the salsa has a kick. The service is fast and friendly at the bar. The dinosaur/fossil theme is great. However it can get a little noisy inside and difficult to hear. They do have outdoor seating.
K C — Google review
Delicious food in a cool, eclectic atmosphere. Adorable outdoor patio seating. Great for vegetarians because they have TVP and tempeh that you can sub in any dish. The chimichanga with tvp and smothered in queso is to die for! And while you're eating, look around and spot all the hidden dinosaurs!
MJ S — Google review
Hostess was polite and the restaurant was clean. Husband ordered the gator taco and enjoyed it. I had the mistake of ordering the nachos, not nearly enough toppings to equate the $12 they cost. I eventually was able to flag down my server and requested some more tomatoes which were scarce. She eventually returned with a small cup of tomatoes. I asked for a substitution of cheese to the vegan queso they offered. If you decide to try your luck here do yourself a favor and skip the nachos, as you'll be vastly disappointed. The server didnt check on us often and charged me for the tomatoes which was rather annoying. We probably won't return or recommend.

Loosey's Downtown Gainesville, located on South West First Avenue, is a popular spot for locals and visitors alike. The bar offers a wide selection of U.S. craft beers and features live music by talented Gainesville musicians. The menu boasts regionally sourced foods made from local ingredients, including favorites like two-bite tacos, chef's special mac n cheese, and fried shrimp seafood dinner.
Omg $10 burger night. And these are great burgers. Love the servers, love the mock tails, love the fries. Fun to sit outside with friends. Highly recommend.

Was a bit hungry and I was looking for Steak Bites. The Steak Frites was the closest I could come to it. A little too much gristle and not enough flavor. It was a pretty good size for $22. I ate a good portion of it. The sides were not best selections. The fries did taste a bit decent. My wife wasn’t crazy with her Burger, as they undercooked it and she had to send it back. The service is a tad bit slow, looks like they can pick up the pace a little. Place is a pub, I can’t say it’s a bright lighted place. It could use a little more life. Would I come back? Maybe. I give it a 3.5

I found this place in the Bring Fido app and went because I thought it would be dog friendly. It was hot and my server didn’t bring our dogs water. We ordered and waited over 10 minutes for a beer and a drink. Walking past the bar on the way to the bathroom, we saw our drinks sitting there. By the time they came to the table, the ice cubes in the drink had watered it down and he did not bring a glass with the can of beer. Our waiter was clearly distracted or angry or he just hates his job. When our neighbors asked for to go box, he brought a small one. When they pointed to their plates (almost full) and asked for a bigger box, he came back and literally threw it at their table. This was, by far, the worst service I’ve experienced in a long time. The neighborhood is rough and while we were there a large group on bikes came and allowed their kids to do bike tricks right next to the tables making the dogs afraid and all of us sitting outside very uncomfortable. Everything about this place screamed NOT WELCOMING!!! The food was alright when it finally came, though he got our burger toppings wrong and my friends hush puppies were completely raw on the inside. We won’t be back and as for “dog friendly” - no. We sat there over an hour in the hot sun and were never offered any water for our dogs. I ended up putting my glass of water in the floor for the dogs to have a drink! No thank you!
Kytka — Google review
The steak wasn't seasoned enough for me and contained more fat than meat. The fries as a side tasted way better. The margarita was on point but the other drink (called bitty something) was bland. Overall good atmosphere and decent food. If I were back in the area though, I would try another place before coming back.
ALA M — Google review
The rating is respective of the place, not overall in the restaurant landscape. It’s what I call a little dusty, divey, with good food and college town specials. Three of us had a burger, a chimichurri chicken and Chic-Fil-Loosey’s Nashville Hot, all with hand cut fries cooked perfectly crisp. The burger was decent sized and cooked well, tasted fresh as did the full set-up, and the chimichurri chicken was good and daughter made it disappear quickly. The Nashville hot was great, crispy, moist and very spicy! I’d do it again! They also have music on weekend nights when we’ve been there. And it’s a good mix of students and some locals, and visiting parents. It has plenty of outdoor seating when then weather’s nice and let’s are welcome. The Sunday drink specials was happy hour all day, great specialty cocktails and Mocktails, I had the $2 PBR tall boy since I was feeling retro collegiate. 🤪 We’ve been about 4-5 over the years and will continue to support them since we all enjoy the place and the service from Elliott was spot on, bravo!!

From groups of people playing trivia to excellent food, to music I didn't like, to watching hockey on TV, Loosey's was perfect. First there was a line of people outside waiting to order and get seats for the upcoming trivia game. I waited, though I did not play. Inside was a bar that was quite full, loud and very busy. It is a bar. Finally ordered my dinner, it is expensive at Loosey's, be ready to pay. I had the 14 oz Prime Rib Steak. IT WAS PRIME. Best damn steak I have eaten in many years. The fries that came with it were crunchy and delicious. I also ordered a Loosey Salad. It to was great. The servers were all very good and made sure everything was just perfect. Was the food, service and atmosphere worth the $40 price tag for one person? ABSOLUTELY!!!!! I very highly recommend Loosey's.

Best veggie burger I’ve ever had. Also we are GNV locals and we had our wedding rehearsal lunch, wedding after party, and ended up grabbing brunch here the day after our wedding 😂😂 service was spectacular each time. Wedding or not, get the truffle fries!

Laid back Saturday, cloudy with a chance of rain. I pop in and try some beer samples before going with the cucumber basil gin cocktail, mermaid something 😉 (it’s really good and strong ok) Then I decide to apply for a part time gig bc the vibes are immaculate here. They are playing a 90s playlist called “songs you heard in the back seat of your mom’s car.” I then order the kimchi burnt ends and cheese truffle fries and live a life happily ever after bc this place is a special gem in downtown GNV.

Cry Baby's is a relaxed restaurant and bar known for its generous burgers, fries, and fried chicken. It is also attached to the first true jazz club in Gainesville in decades, called Baby Js Bar. Unlike other venues that host jazz nights as background music, at Baby Js Bar, live jazz takes center stage. The cocktail menu at Cry Baby's offers seasonal drinks throughout the year. Despite being crowded, the outdoor seating provides a lovely vibe for patrons.
A really nice craft cocktail bar with good food. The place has a cool atmosphere and attracts an older college crowd. A great location for some good bar bites. Dont forget the tator tots…. Absolute best I’ve ever had! Watch out for the cider… it’s potent… but so good!

I think the chicken bucket at this place is absolutely amazing. It was so damn good. I love the ambiance in this restaurant and think all of the staff is just super. Unfortunately my wife won’t let us go here anymore because last time we sat down to order she had to go to the bathroom and some lady was in there taking and making a major stinky. So she completely lost her appetite and made us go somewhere else. I still try to get her to come around to the idea of going over there from time to time but she continues to refuse. Hopefully I work up the courage to go alone some day because man that chicken is AWESOME!

My family and I came here recently and had a wonderful experience. Our server Dylan was very friendly and provided excellent service. When they did not have the necessary ingredients for a specific cocktail, the nice bartender Kyle used what he had to approximate it and the result was outstanding. All the food was equally impressive, but the Impossible patty melt was especially delicious.
David J — Google review
TLDR: mediocre service and cold food. Good drinks, and good environment, but skip the food. I really wanted to give this place 5 stars because I heard such raving reviews about it. The environment is FANTASTIC — it is so cutely decorated and the ambiance is divine. But, although the server was very sweet, she seemed very scatterbrained and rarely checked up on us. I understand that the environment may be less attentive, but our food took an extremely long time to come out, and it was cold. She did provide us with 20% off our bill (I assume to compensate for the long wait times), but I feel like proper communication could have prevented this issue altogether. Not only that, but I ordered fries and a Caesar salad, which don’t exactly take a long time, and neither should be soggy (although I was happy with the salad being cold). The food was just sub par, and it could’ve been avoided! The drinks, however, were super yummy, and I’d come back for those. But, I’d probably eat at home. Or do take out from somewhere else.

Such a fun time! Evan our server was amazing. Shrimp cake appetizers hit the spot. Korean fried chicken sandwich with kimchi and smothered in gochujang was mind-blowing! Drinks were delicious. Singapore sling, aku aku, and habanero peach margaritas were highlights. Every table seemed to also be having fun. Def worth checking out.

One of Gainesville's top 3 burgers! Buns were perfectly toasted, patty was cooked perfectly, fries were delicious. I just wish they had some fresh onions for topping to cut some of the greasiness. The hot chicken sandwich was actually pretty spicy! Staff were friendly and efficient. Prices were very reasonable and I'd definitely come back!

I just went to the show that had the head line PowerGlove with Immortal Guardian as a build-up. Honestly I have to say that out of the three bands that played I have a hard time picking a favorite because the entire show rocked the house. PowerGlove brought the house down and immortal guardian was epic as ever. I can’t believe that Gabriel Guardian can play the guitar, play the keyboard, and sing at the same time!!! I have to give a mad shout out to the opening band “Sworn to Decay”! The crowd didn’t even know how to respond when their black metal influence hit the floor. The crowd was prepared for a some melodic metal and got slapped in the face from the start! I can’t wait to see all these bands again. I’m a local and will be looking for more shows featuring all these bands in the future. Especially my boys from “Sworn to Decay”.

Notably, they have organized the annual 7.2k Springs Run, raising substantial funds for the Florida Springs Institute and actively participating in initiatives to protect local springs.
Great beer options, with a helpful staff. Indoor / outdoor seating - and the outdoor seating has tables, benches, Adirondack chairs, shade sails, fans, and tree cover. What a great environment. The food trucks that routinely are on site make for some great food options. Even when it is busy, it does not seem packed.

Food from Food truck was delicious. Brewery had potential, larger place with large outdoor area. The cons: very noisy inside, only tried 4 beers all were average nothing stood out. Lots of kids running around inside and outside like a playground. Not the vibe we like for a Brewery which is why we only had one flight. Visited 3 breweries while in Gainesville, this one we all agreed wouldn't return.

A great experience all around. Plenty of different beers to choose from. I had a flight of sours and ciders, all tasted great. Nice atmosphere. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Lots of parking space, but it does fill up at peak times. They have cool merch; tshirts, hats, stickers, magnets, etc. They have a legit selection board games you can play there. There’s a food truck outside, on the brewery’s premises, but a separate business with its own schedule.

The grossest place I've ever been. The floors, walls, and bathrooms are disgusting. The drinks aren't that cheap plus there's cover. Why would anyone go there with all the other options in midtown

It's a hole in the wall college bar. This bar is super cheap and frequented by college kids. It's not clean and the bathrooms are a new level of disgusting but we love it anyways.

Great spot, specially College Thursdays. From the door to the bar. I really recommend. Music 10 out of 10

I went with a group of coworkers to celebrate someone turning 18. I was the oldest person in the place, lmao. Had to explain what a gin & tonic was to the bartender. Music was hot garbage… inexperienced DJ couldn’t seem to line up tracks correctly… randomly skipping from one thing to the next. Pic is of the line to get in on a Friday night.

Went with my boys with the money to buy a table to have a good night. Paid $500 roughly for a table. Waited 10 minutes for the girls to “prepare the table”. Was then told someone else bought the table and refused to give back the $500. Straight thieves.

Step into a time machine and transport yourself back to the 80s at That 80s Bar in Gainesville. This North Central nightclub is a haven for lovers of all things 80s, offering nightly karaoke, dance parties, live bands, and fully stocked bars. It's not just a place for dancing - it's an immersive experience with arcade games and an awesome retro atmosphere.
Drinks are so good 👍 karaoke 🎤 night was so entertainment and customer service was great !!

Well where to start. If you show pics of 80's theme. There better be 80 stuff and music. There was none of it. Music was horrible could not understand half of it saying. I excepted something based on past reviews. Never going back ever.

I loved it!! There was 80s music, video game arcade cabinets and great drinks. However, I now know why they call it a "take my breathe away"!😳 Also, the bar tenders were very nice. And the lady with red hair, pink lips and white high tops vans was really pretty.🥰 And the guy was a good man, I trust him.👍🏻

The staff were friendly and drinks were definitely good… prices were also decent but it felt very off to be charged an almost $12 service fee when we got our tab. Apparently it’s for charges over $30. Would have been great to mention that somewhere(at least it wasn’t anywhere that i saw). Auto-grats are understandable - I worked in the industry for 12 years… but I didn’t know if the “service charge” went to the bartenders or the bar. Just felt like a scam because it came out of nowhere, like being punished for spending more money there. I sincerely hope it goes to the bartenders because if not, they’re likely gonna lose out on higher tips over this.
Devlin S — Google review
Love the atmosphere. Great music and people. But the drinks were not up to par. 10 bucks for a double crown apple with a splash and it was all sprit with a splash of crown. Won’t be building a large tab but will be back for the free pool

Not busy. Probably because the dj only plays RADIO music from the 80s. Sorry if my music choices don’t reflect a very small selection of 80s music. And why are you playing more songs from the 70s if it literally is an 80’s bar.
Smashlee C — Google review
Was harassed here for a good hour or so by the middle eastern looking staff (or was he staff?), apparently I looked like a cop, and they wondered why my socks were pulled all the way up and they were constantly judging my attire. I think it is a democrat antifa hangout spot

I went with a couple friends and waited for almost two hours for our song to come on. I talked to the DJ (July 15 2022) and he goes, “oh no someone already sang that man.” No one had sung it, we had another song in as well and it never came up. Seemed like the DJ was skipping most of the guys, kinda lame. ://

The last event I attended was a nightmare for me and my group, we attended last Friday, the manager was very incompetent and gave such an awful service. They charged me the bottles and then after 1 hour and half waiting for them they told me that they did not have the bottles, the biggest issue was I had to go to by myself and look for the bottles since they were not taking care of the table. The manager was Justin with a blue shirt, I do not know why this guy is a manager when he doesn't even pay attention to the bottles, he yells at people and doesn't even know where he is standing. Then, when I got my bottles he stopped me yelling why do I have those bottles when I already spoke with the bottle girls. Finally I got my bottles at 1:00 AM when the club close at 1:55 AM. The table service in this place is very uncompetitive and we will never go back if we see this guy.

Not many places in Gainesville get 5 stars from me - but this place was cool. Great atmosphere, incredible food, cocktails were on point, and friendly service. A bit loud, but it simply was a great time. Have driven by it for years, never even knowing it was there. I will be back.

We got there just before 5pm. They didn't seem that crowded but it took about 10 minutes to be seated. The parking situation isn't too good. You're lucky if you can find a spot on the street. There is indoor and outdoor seating. We stayed inside since it was kinda warm out. We ordered drinks first. The waiter was friendly. We looked over the menu. The interior was dimly lit. There's a decent selection of choices on the menu. There is another whole menu for the drinks at the bar; many specialty drinks. We all ordered a meal and the food arrived timely and no complaints. We enjoyed our time at the Top. We'd go back.

The food was delicious and our server, Tyler, was great! I had the eggplant rollatini and also ordered a side salad, which I wound up taking home because I was too full to eat it (as I wanted to save a little room for key lime pie)! My husband had the mushroom ravioli and added blackened salmon. We shared a piece of Keylime pie for dessert. We loved everything. It was all tasty! I read mixed reviews on the eggplant dish, but I thought it was delicious and would definitely order it again! I am a big eggplant fan! Everything was prepared well and tasty! And the Keylime pie was yummy and made there. We would recommend this place and the items we had!

Been going to this place for almost 20 years amazing food great place. The only thing I would say to anyone that goes to any restaurant. Do not assume the person waiting/ serving you owes you any thing but the job they are supposed to do. I say this with love. Because if you come into this wonderful restaurant with an air of entitlement it will not go over well. Which is why I love this restaurant. Helen Scott, I built something amazing as far as a place. And a that welcomes everyone. As long as you're you understand, you're only as welcome as long as you don't think that you're better than anyone else that is there 😘

We visited Dragonfly Sushi during FEST and despite the restaurant being absolutely packed we were very impressed by the experience. Nestled in the heart of downtown Gainesville, this place has clearly earned its reputation among the competitive restaurant scene. We snagged seats at the bar, and even with the chaos of a busy music festival weekend the service was impressively fast and efficient. The staff never seemed flustered, and our orders came out quickly without sacrificing quality. The food itself exceeded all expectations. The sushi rolls were beautifully presented with fresh, high-quality ingredients, and the gyoza were perfectly crispy with a flavorful filling. What really impressed us was that the kitchen maintained such excellent standards despite the restaurant being slammed. Too often, busy nights mean compromised quality, but Dragonfly proved they can handle the pressure. If they can deliver this level of food and service during one of the busiest weekends in Gainesville, they’ve more than earned their spot as a downtown favorite.

Dragonfly Sushi and Sake Company is one of the best dining spots in downtown Gainesville. The restaurant has a lively atmosphere with both indoor and outdoor seating options, making it a great place to visit whether you are out for a casual dinner or a special night with friends. The menu offers an impressive variety of appetizers, sushi rolls, and main dishes, all beautifully prepared and full of flavor. The miso cod is a standout dish with a perfectly tender texture and a rich, savory glaze that makes it unforgettable. Another favorite is the Black and Bleu roll, which combines fresh ingredients and bold flavors in a way that keeps you coming back for more. The bar also deserves mention, offering a creative drink menu with fun cocktails and an extensive sake list. It is the kind of place where you can start the evening with a drink and end up staying for dinner without even realizing how much time has passed. Dragonfly can get busy on weekends, and the bar area tends to fill up quickly, but the energy and buzz of the crowd are part of its charm. Despite the occasional wait, the service remains friendly and attentive, and the quality of the food makes it well worth it. Overall, Dragonfly Sushi and Sake Company is a fantastic choice for anyone looking for fresh, inventive Japanese cuisine in a vibrant downtown setting.

It's a popular spot for locals and families looking for good food and cold beer while enjoying the game on one of the 60 televisions throughout the venue.
I took my mother here while visiting her in Gainesville. She was hungry for a Steak and this place came up in our search. We decided to give them a try and it was the best decision we made. She had the Prime Rib Steak and said it was one of the best steaks She's had in a long time. She's 94 years old and usually don't like anything 😀 this was a huge win!👌 I had the Buffalo Shrimp and a Ceasar Salad. The Buffalo Shrimp were delicious and had the perfect heat. Overall, we had an excellent dining experience and will definitely be back.

Garlic dipping sauce for the zingers was not what I was expecting, (it has an odd texture), and I had ordered an extra sause, side of broccoli, and ranch and Bleu cheese, none of which was included in my order. Very disappointing at best! First, nearly every dish they brought to us had food caked on it. Second, my Caesar salad was very small and had barely any dressing. It also contained bits of rotted lettuce. Third, my husband's wings showed they were freezer burned and he just left them on the plate disgusted. His fries tasted awful like they were old. Because of this, we won't be back. The good part of our visit was the waiter. He was kind, social, and attentive. We didn't have the heart to tell the waiter about the food. The Harn Museum of Art, one of the largest university-affiliated museums in the U.S., boasts a diverse collection of over six thousand works from around the world. Visitors can explore Asian, African, modern, and contemporary art. The museum also features outdoor exhibits like the Bob and Nancy Magoon Garden and an Asian water garden. Families can enjoy interactive activities at the Bishop Study Center and partake in a scavenger hunt throughout the museum.
This is a lovely and very airy art museum. They have a pretty diverse collection and the collection includes some big name artists too. I would definitely recommend stopping in. I do have two minor complaints; one is the wall of Asian art pieces did not have descriptive placards next to the pieces. There was a book to look through to find information, but the information was sparse. Second, while I appreciate the need to change up the collection from time to time, they had no artwork from their permanent collection of African art on display. Overall, my favorite room was the Florida artwork. I enjoyed seeing this beautiful state shown in different styles and viewpoints.

Fantastic art museum, especially given the size of the town - no offense but Gainesville isn’t the size of Atlanta or NYC. I was gobsmacked at some of the pieces owned by the museum. A Monet. Two Wileys. There was also a visiting exhibit of French post modernists. An amazing Asian exhibit. With pieces 4000 yrs old! Also it’s FREE. I wasn’t able to visit the outdoor section or downstairs - my older father was worn out. My 5 stars are for what I did see. And loved.

The exhibits are thoughtfully curated, showcasing everything from ancient artifacts to contemporary masterpieces. The staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, always ready to share fascinating stories behind the pieces. The architecture of the building itself is a work of art, with beautiful spaces that invite you to explore. I especially loved the peaceful outdoor areas, perfect for a relaxing break. Whether you're an art enthusiast or just looking for a lovely day out, the [Museum Name] is a must-visit. I can’t wait to go back!
LaPorsha S — Google review
We enjoyed our visit to the Harn Museum of Art in Gainesville. The variety of exhibits offered something for everyone, and it was a relaxing way to spend the afternoon. Our 14-year-old, who usually loves creating art, was engaged at first but lost interest about halfway through, next time we might try the audio tour to keep things more interactive. The 20-year-olds in our group both enjoyed themselves, with one finding it especially interesting. That said, it’s probably not a spot that will hold much interest for most younger children, as the experience leans more toward quiet observation than hands-on interaction. A couple of other notes for future visitors: unless you need the restroom, there’s not much reason to head downstairs, and unfortunately the gift store was closed during our visit, which was a little disappointing. Most of the staff we encountered were courteous, but not exactly helpful—almost as if they assumed everyone visiting had been there before. Still, it was an enjoyable experience overall, and we’d be happy to return to see new exhibits and try a different approach next time.
T — Google review
As an out of town visitor I was overwhelmed at the quality and quantity of first rate art. Hidden gem. Entry bridge is a little narrow oddly enough.
Glen H — Google review
The Harn is one of the best things to do in Gainesville. The fact that we have a FREE museum that has a Monet is incredible, and that fact most people forget it exists is criminal.
Alexander B — Google review
My husband and I enjoy visiting art museums and Harn was a great addition to our list. Parking is free (parking deck a short walk away) and there's paid parking if you find any free spots in the nearby parking lot. Admission is free, but donations are accepted. Once we walked into the museum, a friendly front desk person greeted us and told us about the scannable map of the location. Then, we went off and explored what exhibits were on display. My favorite part was the Asian art section. The facilities are excellently kept and clean. The women's bathrooms were spotless. There are also staff walking around at all times to ensure the art is being respected. It had a lot of empty space, which was different than other galleries and museums we've been to. Not sure if that was a good or bad thing, but it was interesting to see how the space was utilized. It was starting to rain when we arrived and there were only a few visitors (maybe 10) that we encountered (it was Saturday around 230pm). When we left (around 330pm), more guests were arriving, so we were glad to see the displays when it was mostly empty. Highly recommend for adults, but kids might get bored since there isn't much interactivity here as say, the Florida Museum of Natural History, just next door.

Came here in December, while we were visiting in Gainesville. A fun place with a great craft 🍻 beer selection. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and the were helpful while I sampled a few beers! There was a stage with karaoke 🎤 going on inside,& we sat outside on the large patio. They have a large selection of IPA’s which my hubby and Uncle enjoyed! The outdoor area was decorated festive for the holidays, with a light tunnel leading to a stage-platform area. We were Happy that it was warm enough to sit outside! Probably the most beautiful brewery Ive ever been to. Situated slightly away from the hustle and bustle of main roads and traffic, this brewery sits on a beautiful piece of land with rolling green hills, outdoor shelters with walkways and picnic tables, large covered patio, and rough-cut lacqured wooden tables inside. It felt like drinking beer in a park! Lots of beer selections, family friendly, and clean! Its no wonder why this brewery has won so many awards. Very busy the day I went but definitely a great experience. Will definitely return!

Cool vibe - been there once .. and not sure if I can really give a fair assessment, because there were two different groups having events there that day. Good beer selection, lots of space, friendly people, but seemed more busy than I prefer

My last visit was on Halloween - very festive atmosphere, great people and the best beer in the region. Great place to be.

I didn't initially have high hopes for this place because the area isn't that great, but I was pleasantly surprised. The facility was great, and the outdoor seating was very convenient. They had a taco stand outside, and it was really great. They don't serve food inside, but they have tons of beer (of course). I personally didn't drink any, but the people in my group loved it. My dad says that this brewery is one of the few good things about Florida. Extra little tidbit, the water is self-serve in the hallway with the bathrooms, you don't order it at the bar. But yeah, you should totally check this place out if you're in the area! It was very fun.

Friendly staff and nice location. Visiting from out of state and got here early afternoon; mostly empty but got busy at around 6. Beer was really good, and I appreciate there being a changing table in the men's bathroom for once.

Dancing, neon lights like iridescent fireflies reminding us of why we also move our bodies in random, nonsensical ways. Why do we do this? Why? I do not know. We excite with neon lights and beautiful sights and spectral frights at Neon Nights 2025.

V Pizza & SideCar in Gainesville is a popular spot located downtown, offering a great combination of delicious food and drinks. At SideCar, patrons can enjoy pre-kickoff drinks or celebrity cocktails while being next to V Pizza for a full meal experience. V Pizza prides itself on serving great food made from better-for-you ingredients and creating a friendly environment for guests. The pizzeria offers authentic Neapolitan wood-fired pizza and a late-night bar with various drink options.
We visited V’s pizza for our BoCC Administrative Professionals Day. What an excellent experience! We were able to learn about what we were about to consume 🤭. Dakota was amazing teaching us about the imported ingredients that they use to make the dough, and the sauces. We then learned how to roll out our own dough and the lighting of their pizza ovens 🤯 Immediately following we were able to partake in the masterpieces that were carefully curated by our very own‼️ Thank you Dakota @ V’s pizza for this remarkable experience 👩🏾‍🍳

Decent pizza, a little thin for my liking. The mac and cheese pizza was amazing in the restaurant but even better as a leftover the next day. The v-signature wings were really good. Cute restaurant and parking was free on Sunday. The Hawaiian style pizza was alright but wouldn't get again. Staff were super friendly

One of my favorite places to meet downtown for a drinks and some food. I discovered the Sidecar/V's in 2022 and they have a wide variety of crafted drinks and pizza. Pictured is the Saturn and its my favorite drink from there and a vegitarian pizza. If you sit at the bar on the left side, its very entertaining to watch all of the custom drinks being made right in front of you. Noise level is not too bad either even when its pretty full on a Friday night.

The food is was very tasty, and well seasoned. It's a great place for the family to hang and have a great time.

The wood fired Pizza and Wings here was amazing. I especially loved the V Style Wings that they serve! They had this zesty lemon flavor that was fantastic! Their ranch sauce was good too! I gave them a 4 simply because the service was subpar but they were training new staff at the time. My guess is because college at UF just started back and they hire college students. Other wise, we would definitely go back if we were in the mood for pizza and wings!

I came in during work lunch today. I always make a point to ask the servers recommendations on food choice because (unfortunately for my waistline) I'm not super picky. I feel the staff always has the best feel for an establishments strongest dishes. James (I believe it was) kindly suggested the wings and so I tried the Signature and the Calabrian. Both were fantastic and the service was great. Keep up the great work and good food and I wish you all prosperity.

This was my first visit to your restaurant, and unfortunately the experience did not meet expectations. We attended on 7/10 at 7:32 PM (Check #75, Table #__, Server: Hannah S.) during trivia night, which was understandably busy and loud. After placing our drink order, it was delayed by at least 15 minutes. Our server mentioned the bar was busy, but later we saw the drinks had been ready and were simply not picked up. For dinner, I ordered a salad with grilled chicken, and my partner ordered a pizza, requesting the crust be extra brown/extra cooked. My grilled chicken was very tough. When I mentioned this, the replacement was only about 2 oz of shredded chicken, whereas my original portion was about 5 oz. The server said the chicken comes pre-cooked from the supplier and she could not change it. The pizza was not cooked as requested. Our server said she could have it remade, but it would take 30 minutes and she could not prioritize it over other orders. We requested to speak with the manager, who arrived after some time. He told us that in cases of replacement, the order could indeed have been prioritized, which contradicted what our server had told us. By this point, we had already been seated for around 45–50 minutes. This combination of delays, miscommunication, and food quality issues made the visit disappointing, especially for a first-time experience. I wanted to share this feedback in the hope it can help improve future service. We spent $74.00 plus tip very disappointed .

The gastropub World of Beer Gainesville offers one of the best selections of craft beers in Florida, as well as numerous draft options. They're located just 15 minutes away from Sweetwater Branch Inn, making it the perfect spot for beer lovers on the go.
The food was amazing! The nachos with beer cheese were very tasty, the flatbread was authentic, and the burger was excellent with a perfect char and medium rare. Descriptions of the beers were so tempting, we wanted to try them all. Best food I've had in a while!

The boneless chicken/tenders (side eye) we’re amazing! Could have experienced better TIMELY customer service from our waiter. The atmosphere was great. Their bottom is mimosas are very lukewarm, and they do not come around frequently, unless you have a good server.

World of Beer wasn't my first choice this evening or even my second, but the others were either hosting large events or closed on a Monday evening. So here we are. Great service from Hannah (sp?) who was attentive, helpful and polite. I managed to get my laptop and phone plugged in and while enjoying a beer and WOB's take on a Cobb Salad, I was able to wind down after today's driving and work day. Comfortable, clean, quiet enough (with no major sports events on TV tonight) and not terribly expensive. All credit to Hannah's great service.

Loved it!! The beer cheese on the nachos was very tasty. Flat bread was as authentic as it gets and the burger was amazing. You could taste the charred beef but still medium rare. Best food I’ve had in a while. And the descriptions of the beers make you want to taste all of them.

This place is pretty cool and laid back. The music is not loud and you can comfortably talk to your friends or partner with out yelling. Lol It's called world of beers for a reason. There's so many to choose from. I snacked on their loaded taters. It's a great combination with a cold beer. Experience - Great and prompt service. Good was fresh and hot it is as exactly what I wanted. Now I did get s cup of chili to put on top and that was the icing on the cake.

Great place in Gainesville for drinks and food. From the name didn't expect such good food. From appetizers to main entrees, it all looked so good will have to return for more. Also they have a Gluten friendly menu. Full bar from a huge selection of beers to ciders and cocktails. Great service, very friendly and attentive.

The place was very clean and service was fast! The street tacos were amazing and so juicy; the pretzel is definitely a must-get. Definitely recommend going. Kelly, our waitress, was fast and super sweet. She was checking up on us all the time. Everyone was so sweet along with the food being so good!

HAD ME THINKING OF THEIR AMAZING FOOD FOR DAYS! food: 5/5 service 5/5 This restaurant provides fair prices for amazing food (other than the wings which imo are overpriced). The atmosphere of this restaurant providing twists and high expectations on American favorites is like no other. It is a MUST visit when in Gainesville. -The beer cheese nachos are my personal favorite, with a great price of $10 for food for multiple guests. -The flatbreads are cooked perfectly with a calculated combination of ingredients for dreams of this food -One person in my party also tried various beers, where they were pleasantly surprised by the original flavors and diversity in the beers. I recommend all of these in the restaurant and good luck to finding any distasteful food!

Traditional American restaurant

Brunch restaurant
The Swamp Restaurant is a popular game-day destination for college football enthusiasts, offering a laid-back atmosphere and a wide selection of American cuisine and drinks. Established in 1994, it has become an integral part of the Gainesville community and is located near the renowned Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.
While it’s not the same as when it was on University, the Swamp is still one of the best places to catch a game in Gainesville. There is a large outdoor seating area where they project whatever the main game is that night. If you want to watch a game and get an outside seat, get there at least an hour before kickoff or you’ll be out of luck. There is a first and second floor with indoor seating, and patio upstairs seating. All tables are full service with food and drinks. The food is about what you would expect from a sports bar. On Fridays, they have Free Beer Fridays. You pay $10 each for a wristband and can get unlimited refills. I’m not sure what beer they use for this but you definitely get your money’s worth. There is no parking directly by the restaurant, so plan to do city parking nearby. There’s usually parallel spots available down the road.

We've been coming to Swamp since it was in the original location. The food has always been good. We came twice during our visit this time, and dinner and lunch were both delicious. I'm so glad they now have the beyond burger! For dinner I had the southwest salad, which was amazing, and for lunch I had the beyond burger. They have quite a varied menu, so there's something for everyone. Lauren and Trinity helped us at the bar and we're wonderful! The atmosphere is great for families and students alike.

This spot is serving up some good bar food and is perfect for game-nights. However, coming here to catch up with a friend was a bit difficult in the loud setting inside. My power wrap was great with the seasoned soy protein and hummus to moisten things up. I was happy to see some vegan options on the menu. Be careful with the sides though as the seasonal vegetable may come with bacon!

Visit The Swamp Restaurant today for the first time and meet Mesha who was my waitress and is great at what she do and also committed on my gators wear. I already knew i wanted to order gator bites so asked Mesha for a recommendation on an entree cause i want to eat lite. So she recommended the Cesar salad wrap but i ordered broccoli with it which everything was delicious and seasoned evenly. It started off with 2 customers including me some how in restaurant 30 minutes later it became really packed with customers but with only 2 waitress working i watched them work doing a wonderful job in a unbelievable busy moment. Ask for Mesha a sweet person and knows what she's doing.

Tierby and Kylie were absolutely amazing during my visit to The Swamp! Their service was warm, attentive, and made the whole dining experience feel special. They went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect — from recommendations to checking in with genuine care. The food was great, but their hospitality made it unforgettable. Definitely ask for them if you visit

Friday night before a game, so the place was nuts! Loud, crowded and loads of fun. Burgers were outstanding but pretty small.. pulled pork and Philly cheesesteak were just average. Portions definitely in the small side. But lots of fun!

We have been here twice, and both were very good! They make a great hamburger, the Freshman 15, and their brunch options, like the Bourbon French Toast, are superb. The waitresses here are highly attentive and kind. The atmosphere is quite homey and exudes a college town feel, yet feels as if it belongs in a small town. Overall, this restaurant is one of the best in Gainesville, and is a great place to have a burger and their salads and fries a awesome!

Definitely the iconic Irish pub bar. Without the stereotypical themes. They have the Ireland flag posted a long side a plaque of its historical significance. Bathrooms are a little cramped and run down, but that adds to the real feel of a pub.its never dirty though. Very kind staff, as well as a great environment for a calm night of drinking with friends.

Hands down the best bar in Gainesville. Great staff, great drinks, quarter table, video games, trivia nights and karaoke... But generally nice and chill. Been seeing the same regulars there since I was old enough to get in. Really just a wonderful place.

Poorly lit, dirty, overpriced drinks with bad service... What's not to love? A customer was talking crap to me while I was in there and I asked him if he wanted to step out side, doing so got me banned. They claim this is an Irish bar but where is the tradition? Have we forgotten about the fighting Irish? Overall this place is too uptight and the employees are rude.

That Bar and Table is a casual, family-friendly restaurant in Gainesville that offers a full menu. The bar and pub area is popular with locals and visitors, while the patio is dog-friendly. The tacos are highly recommended, as are the six layer carrot cake and the food overall. It's always clean, and the decorations reflect this with vibrant colors and interesting designs.
Came here for dinner last night (03/12/25). Our server was great, we got two drinks (strawberry lemonade+bramble) both drinks were pretty good, we also got the fried pickles which were just downright amazing!, not soggy, crispy, and well seasoned. We also each got a burger with fries, mine had bacon and caramelized onions on it, hers was a cheeseburger with avocado and we both absolutely loved it. My burger every single bite was absolutely flavorful. The fries were great pub fries that reminded me of five guys but less greasy. For $8 each. I would come back every week if I could. Highly highly highly recommend.

Atmosphere was 😎 chill and nice to hang out with friends for lunch. This place was suggested to me and that their food was great, so I decided to try it out! It was my first visit and the burger I had was not tasty at all, and dry. I'll give em another try.

First time eating here. Service was excellent (Jared). Food was delicious. Everything tasted fresh and very flavorful. Will be back for sure. We forgot to take pictures of our food until we ate half of it already. Hubby got the Cuban with fries. Delicious. I got the caprese grilled cheese with the garlic green beans. Very good as well. The place appeared clean and staff was very attentive. Apparently they have a new menu as of one week ago. Give it try.

I really liked this place. It is super cute and nice inside. They have a large menu selection. I ordered the Buffalo Mac and cheese, my boyfriend got the salmon. We both really enjoyed our meals and it was a good portion size. Our waiter was very attentive and nice. Overall this is a nice experience for a nice night out for dinner. The atmosphere is great as is the service and food. Update: have went again now twice for brunch and absolutely loved it again. I really liked the coffee. I ordered the French toast which was not a huge portion size but it was really good. The chicken sandwich I got was also incredible. My boyfriend absolutely loves the loaded home fry bowl. Our food comes out quickly and the waitresses are always nice
Britney M — Google review
From the food to service, this establishment has absolutely gone down hill. I work across the street from this place and have ordered frequently over the past four years, but over the past six months or more, the quality of food has been inconsistent. The last time I went in for my pickup order, I waited at the bar for over 20 minutes before the bartender even looked at me, while my food was sitting right there behind the counter. He continued to serve everyone at the bar, but would not ever look in my direction. I consistently said, "excuse me, " to no avail. A hostess finally stated that she knew I had been waiting a long time, and was finally able to get the food for me behind the bar. When I got back to work, and opened up the coleslaw, it was nothing I had ever seen before and it tasted extremely sour. It had no inkling of the taste of their coleslaw, which I had always ordered an extra side of. It absolutely did not taste like coleslaw at all. The burgers and fries were cold. I did not address any concerns with a manager, since I was on my lunch break. It also didn't seem like anyone in charge was around. I also intended on never going back after that experience. Thank you for reaching out. I appreciate that.
KMJ — Google review
If you know me or read my reviews, you know this is not my usual watering-hole style: strip mall, Haile-adjacent, try-hard name, etc. However, TBT (sic) does manage to (mostly) capture that neighborhood-pub vibe. Inside (booth, high-top, bar) and patio seating, above-average bar food (yes please to the fried pickles), and a cozy everybody-knows-your-name vibe. Will probably not become my go-to in the Ville, but it is near my daughter, son-in-law, and (most-importantly) granddaughter, so I am sure to return! SIDEBAR: This review has to be a new record for both Creative Use of Parentheses and Hyphenated Words and Phrases Utilization!

Only a couple decent restaurants. Parking is not great and you have to walk too far to get to anything since there is little shade and the concrete is hot. Businesses are all over priced. The only reason to go there is the nicest movie theater in town or pick up sushi. The new sports facility just makes the place less convenient as any event disrupts the traffic pattern.

It's not worth the time to get off the expressway for. I really wanted to like this place because it's convenient while driving on I75 but there are a limited amount of stores and they're lackluster. The best place is the movies and the Nike store. This was a great concept but wasn't executed properly. Maybe they'll get more stores and restaurants it will be great.

Best theater around. Movies really come alive in the rooms in this theater. Such a thrill to watch anything on the screen. The audio sounds superb and the electric recliners are very nice. Except sometimes my pocket in my pants presses the button and I start reclining or declining automatically. I am a tall guy so while being fully reclined, there is still plenty of room for anyone to pass by in front of the row. The concessions also sell a variety of food which tastes great and is full of nutrition. I love the reserve seating feature, you no longer have to rush in to find your seat, however you might have to ask someone to get out of your seat and/or get authority to help you ask them to move. Can't wait to go again.

It cannot get any better, great deal on Monday 55 cents wings. Loved the food and the vibes. Great workers
Anthony A — Google review
First time here and will never go back. Waitress was nice and told us it was wing night. 55¢ wings but had to order in increments of ten and celery was extra. Blue cheese was tiny so we ordered a few extra. All was good until we were ready to go and asked for a to-go box. We were told that we couldn't have a box but we could buy one for $5 and that was the only way we would be allowed to take our leftovers. I have never heard of such a thing. How is it possible that I couldn't take something that I paid for. This was not a buffet or all-you can eat. I even suggested that I was willing to pay for what I had eaten and leave the rest. No deal. When I asked how they were going to prevent me from taking the wings the extremely rude manager said she would call the police. THE WORST DINING EXPERIENCE EVER.
Charles R — Google review
I give a 3 for food as the wings are good. I understand prices are rising but $4.50 for a small fry is crazy. What topped it was I requested a refund but the acting supervisor didn't know how to so you would have to wait until the actual manager clock in later that day.
Reshone F — Google review
The food is decent, and some dishes are better than others. I would recommend their wings. They have a great variety of sauces with their wings. The happy hour section is decently priced. Staff may take a while as they get busy, but it seems more like a seat your self establishment til we see you, so be patient. Some nights they have live music which is very nice. Staff is very friendly and attentive. I would come back.
Selena W — Google review
I am very disappointed with the level of service I experienced during my recent visit to Mother’s. The establishment has noticeably declined over the years, and my latest experience confirmed that. I placed a to-go order for wings over the phone and waited 30 minutes before arriving. Upon arrival, I stood at the bar where one bartender was actively helping a customer, but the other, Jen, was engaged in a personal conversation and did not acknowledge me. I waited politely for her to finish, but she continued talking. When I finally interrupted to ask about my order, she dismissively stated, “It probably isn’t ready.” After pointing out that it had been 30 minutes, she went to check and, in fact, my order was ready. My issue is not only the lack of professionalism but also the clear disregard for customer service. If certain customers are going to receive preferential treatment, then perhaps signs should be posted, so others know their business is not valued. I have been a loyal customer since your University location, but experiences like this make me question whether I should continue supporting this establishment. I strongly urge management to address these issues and reinforce the importance of consistent, respectful service for all customers.

I’ve been to Mothers Pub Bar and Grill North the past two nights and I’ve got to say it’s a great spot. The environment is laid back and fun with live music and pool tables that keep the vibe going. Bre the bartender is amazing, super friendly, attentive, and really makes you feel welcome. Her whole staff is just as solid. If you’re in the area and looking for a good time, I strongly recommend stopping by this location. You won’t be disappointed.

Horrible customer service. Will someone have a Come-to-Jesus meeting with the employees.THE CUSTOMER COMES FIRST. Got here at 5:45 on a Tuesday. Sat at a booth. There were 11 people seated at tables and 12 people at the bar. Ordered 2 beers and waited 15 minutes and still no beer. I counted 6 employees, either in the kitchen, bartenders or servers. Totally unacceptable. That's more than 1 employee for every 4 customers. I gave a three on food even though I didn't eat since I came here a year ago and the wings were good.
William M — Google review
Been coming here for a while and love the food, the drinks and the prices. My beef today is management. This poor waitress was in charge of 15+ tables all by herself on Father's day no less. That's pretty messed up. There should be at least 2 servers especially on a weekend. Because my server was so busy, I went to the bar to order another drink and was denied because I had a table and waitress. My waitress was so busy dealing with the multitude of other patrons that it took a while to get that other drink. I'm very disappointed in management and hope this was an extenuating circumstance and will not become a habit of abusing your employees! Our waitress was wonderful btw considering the circumstances.

It tasted amazing and the guy serving us at the bar Zach was amazingly friendly. I came in too late to play any games but I can say I still had a great time.

We came here for a birthday party Saturday and the food, service and drinks were all excellent! I got the "dangerous waters" drink and it was great!! It's a bit noisy and easy to get overwhelmed by the cacophony of the atmosphere. The kids enjoyed themselves, and the girl working the human Crane was exceptional! Little did she know she had 3 neurodivergent children come through the line with me and she explained everything very well to them and was gentle and asked them if they could move their hair, or she could move it for them...etc. She kept the kids safe and has great attention to detail. She impressed me the most! This is a better D&B than the jacksonville one.

We were traveling through, long roadtrip day and wanted lunch and fun for the kids and this place did Not disappoint. The staff were SUPER friendly, the food was fast and Amazing, (I got the protein bowl, YUM) and there were so many games, my kids and husband and I had a lot of funny playing them all! And the prizes were really nice!! Would recommend to all my family and friends! Plus we went at lunch, and had the place almost to ourselves which we liked 😄

Went for my granddaughter’s birthday, she was turning 5. She and her 13 year old brother loved the games. The food was good as well. It was quite busy on a Sunday night, but our server was phenomenal! Very attentive and friendly. It is a loud atmosphere with the TV’s, games, and people talking, and kids running around. She had a great birthday, so that’s what counts!

What can I say about this place other than how fun it is for the children even for adults it can be so fun, such a variety in games and things to do, we came here Saturday afternoon with the kids and some friends, it was not that busy the staff is very friendly and helpful, the checking in process is easy and fast you get your card your points and you’re ready to play, one machine for stock a little bit and one of the staff members came up and give us some tokens back it was very nice. All kinds of games for all ages, for my adults they have a full bar with all kinds of drink which I love and had a few, before se left it was super packed with bdays and all kinds of parties and people having dinner. I did not try the food so I can’t comment on that! Amazing place for the kids and to spend a few hours with friends!

Experience sheer awesomeness in a box! For the best experience and game availability, make sure to visit during the day. Nights can get a bit chaotic with a rowdy younger crowd, so day visits are definitely the way to go. The food is outstanding, and the atmosphere is incredibly uplifting. This place is absolutely worth your time! And don’t forget, first responders and military personnel enjoy a generous 15% discount.

We were in town and was able to catch a festival at BoDiddly Plaza. Nice fun and clean with great music, but watch out because these funny looking caterpillars fall from the trees and are every where. If they happen to get on to your skin it will irritate your skin. Other then that we enjoyed ourselves💃🏿

One of the best things about living in a smaller city like Gainesville is going to events and them not being super crowded. Bo Diddley Plaza often has events that aren't super busy and parking isn't a huge hassle.

Located in the Historic Federal Building, The Hippodrome Theatre is a cultural gem in Gainesville. It has been showcasing vibrant performances since 1973 within its beautifully restored 1920s theater. This renowned venue offers a diverse range of entertainment including live theater, film screenings, and special events. The building's rich history and commitment to artistic excellence make it an integral part of Gainesville's cultural scene.
I run Candlelight concerts here every other month so I am a bit biased, but the venue is so historic and gorgeous! The venue staff (shoutout to Gavin and Ari) are just the best people to work along side and the amount of events they host there always something to do at this groovy spot! Join us for an event at Fever, or catch a live show with Hippo, you’ll have no regrets! Thank you to this venue for having the heart it does and for the opportunity to make the memories we do! See you next time :)

Staff are always very friendly and considerate. They try their best to make your experience the best they can. The Hippodrome's Elevator (the oldest elevator in the state of florida) is very cool, and makes the experience of less of jut entering a building but stepping into a historical piece of gainesville. They have movies most days and have performances that go on for two weeks at a time that have really amazing actors. I also want to mention they have almost ALL warm relaxing lighting (as someone who i sensitive to fluorescent lights it a game changer). I hope they bring Sip and Strolls back because touring the building while getting a complimentary cocktail was just so so cool to see the ins and outs. Overall a lovely experience every time.

Since 2005 we've been going to the Hipp for shows. Last night, (Oct 25th, 2025) "The Rocky Horror Show"! Hit Harry's for something to wet ones whistle with & appetizers B 4 the show. It was a full house for the 8 p.m. evening show. AWESOME! "The Fest 23" was also in town for three days/nights of bands, 50 bands played on stages at Bo Didly Plaza & Depot Park, so the town was jumping. I have seen the Rocky Horror Picture Show since my late teens, 39 times over the years. This year marks the 50th year anniversary of Rocky Horror so it just fit to hit it for my 40th time. From start to finish, awesome. Thanks for a fun filled eve. Ilene Silverman, a local tv personality was in the audience & I really think 🤔 she had a blast as well & it showed. I went with a friend of ours, Trisha who was a total Rocky Horror VIRGIN, lol & she too enjoyed the show & she was a little flustered with content, lol!!! The Cast was on target & the vocals were impressive. Overall, 5 star ✨ performance. Thanks for a great evening! Til next time we get together to do 🎶 The Time Warp AGAIN.. 🎵 😜....." Nestled in the vibrant heart of Gainesville, The Social is a lively sports restaurant that boasts a fantastic rooftop bar, perfect for soaking up the energetic college atmosphere. Just steps away from campus, it’s an ideal spot to enjoy delicious food and refreshing adult beverages while mingling with fellow students and locals alike. Recently, The Social has embraced the colorful world of drag culture by hosting its popular Sunday Funday Drag Brunch, which adds to the growing acceptance and celebration of diversity in the area.
This was my first accommodation after arriving in the United States, and as an international student, I chose it primarily for its location. It is undoubtedly the closest to the business school. Soon enough, the location was overshadowed by the wonderful staff and the incredibly responsive maintenance team. If there is an issue, it is typically resolved within a day. The management is quick to respond to emails, and you never feel ignored. One of the standout features is the sense of security. The locks are electronic, and access is restricted to authorized individuals only. Everything in the apartment worked perfectly. There were no problems with the refrigerator, laundry area, internet, or any other essential facility. Packages are delivered safely, and residents are notified immediately. The mailbox system is reliable and accessible around the clock. Being new to Florida, this place quickly started to feel like home. I understand that the recent construction work was frustrating, but it makes sense to schedule such renovations during the summer when fewer residents are around.

Deplorable living conditions and unresponsive management. The windows and doors have been sealed shut from the outside, no access to day light and now mold. Is growing. The dehumidifier cannot keep up with the water intrusion. Find another place to live. The prolonged and extensive construction of this building should not have been conducted while renting out the units.

Zero stars. I just moved here after living in a UF dorm for a year where I didn’t have a single problem and so far I don’t think my experience could be any worse. My bedroom is practically infested with ants. They’re all over the floor and each day there’s more and more. Now they’re crawling into all my bags and on my clothes. And now they’re even BITING me. I’ve sent in 3 complaints over the last 3 days. My mom has called them and not only have they not answers but they haven’t even left a message. I’m concerned that I’m going to have to get other people involved because we called them over the summer twice (2 months ago) to ask about move in and NEVER heard back at all. Even without the ants, none of the amenities are accessible due to construction, which they said would be finished by LAST SPRING (3-5 months ago). I can’t access the gym or the roof top pool. I would never have signed a lease if I had known about this. Plus, the inside of the apartment itself is extremely unattractive and poorly maintained - both hallways and rooms. The price is such a rip off.

Do you want: -the packages you ordered online (they get stolen, leasing office doesn’t care) -sunlight in your room/apartment (my roommate has had her window covered for the whole time we’ve lived here. The other windows/balcony were also previously covered) -a quiet apartment between the hours of 8am-7pm (construction is constant and loud; they will NOT be finished by next lease starting btw) -the balcony you’re paying for (our balcony cannot be opened and does not currently have railings) -the amenities you’re paying for (the pool, one rec room and 1 study room is closed; there’s no construction with the rec/study, they’re just using them for storage) -the apartment floor you signed up and are paying for (we’re paying for a 4-5th floor apartment as that is where we wanted to live but got assigned a 2-3rd floor one. Yes, there is a price difference that we signed up for coming to 180$ for the whole lease. No, we have not gotten our rent changed after emailing them about it for 1.5 months) -not being pressured to sign legal documents that don’t relate to the room you’re living in (the front desk worker wanted me to sign a paper that was for my roommate’s room instead of just deleting it from my portal as they sent me the wrong document. When I told him no, he kept asking “but why”. He needed his supervisor to come out to say to delete) -wifi that doesn’t cut out randomly -a leasing office that answers their phone or responds to your voicemails -outlets/lights/windows not leaking (mine leaked from the construction that wasn’t correctly sealed off) -not getting charged 15$ every month for liability insurance when you have renters insurance and having to go to the leasing office every month to correct it If you don’t want any of these, you should probably NOT live here :) With all of these following issues, we have NOT received any money back. Maybe with this review they’ll actually answer my emails/calls and maybe I’ll actually get my money back :) Just saw the reply from the manager for this review…. Yeah that’s the exact number they don’t answer. Hope this helps :)

BAIT AND SWITCH!! We paid for a mid level room on floor 4 or 5. Instead they placed us on floor 3. We have been emailing and calling with no answer. If Kristina would answer her phone! Might as well sign for a lower level apartment, maybe you will be upgraded. Construction has been non-stop. Can't get a moments peace. Maintenance requests have been quick. But we will NOT renewing again.
Karen B — Google review
Do not live here under any circumstances. The management is some of the worst you will ever deal with, they lie and take advantage of you more easily than they breath air. This is simply a money-hungry organization that will exploit you, trap you into leases unapologetically, and show absolutely no remorse or concern for any potential problem you bring to their attention. To be more clear, the management company has decided to have the entire building undergo renovation for an undetermined amount of time while tenants are still living inside. There is constant banging and hammering on the walls, inescapable noise, and shaking and rattling to the point of picture frames dislodging and breaking. All windows have been obstructed leaving no natural light able to enter the apartment AND no way to see outside at all. We were given no warning about this construction until it had already begun (even though the management likes to lie and say that it was communicated far in advance with absolutely zero evidence of such communication) and after over a month of trying to receive any sort of potential timeline on how long it may take, I continue to be lied to and not given any answers while being strung along and given false hope. While all this goes on, we are still expected to pay our full rent amount each month even though you cannot physically be inside from the hours of 8am-6pm without being brought to the edge of a psychotic break due to the never-ending sounds of slamming and screaming. This really just scratches the surface but if this isn't enough to deter you from not giving these people your money, I don't know what is. If you were seriously considering moving in here in the fall, I urge you to swiftly make new arrangements as to not be screwed over for an entire year straight. If you've already signed your lease, I am truly praying for you as there seems to be no end in sight for the construction project. What I once thought was a nice place to live has proven to be one of the most unethical situation I've ever found myself in
Jenna C — Google review

Do not live here — this place is a construction zone. No natural light, constant loud construction (including the workers using speakers to play music) unsafe building access, and unusable amenities — all while charging over $1,000/month. Management hid this from us when we signed and still raised rent. These units are not livable. Living at Social28 has been an incredibly frustrating and disappointing experience. Our building has been under heavy construction for months, and it’s made my apartment nearly uninhabitable. My windows have been painted over and blocked, leaving almost no natural light — it’s impossible to paint or complete my academic work in these conditions. The unit itself is damaged and incomplete: broken curtain rod, stained carpet, no baseboards, and holes just covered with tape. There’s constant construction noise (banging, drilling, yelling, blasting music from 8 a.m.–5 p.m.) that makes it impossible to work from home or attend virtual classes. Security is a concern — exterior doors and the gym door are left open, fobs don’t work, and valuable items have gone missing from balconies. Amenities are unusable — the pool has been closed for months, the study room is too loud to use, and the gym is unsafe and unsecured. Myself and my roommate work virtual jobs and on top of these conditions hindering our home lives they are affecting our work and studies. The utter disregard for their renters inside of the buildings is disgusting. Other properties like Sweetwater offer rent concessions or alternative accommodations during construction — here, we’ve received nothing. My roommate even had her bike misplaced and yet to be returned. We’ve asked management for relief multiple times and are largely ignored or given vague responses. Do not live here. If you are also stuck in this situation I urge you to take legal action.

If you're in the mood for some drinks and some pool, Main Street is the perfect place. They've got a ton of games and tables available, so you're likely to find a spot to sit down and play. And if that's not your thing, they've also got TVs scattered around the place so you can watch your favorite team without missing a beat.
My wife & I went here for the first time last night & it was better than expected. Food was good, drinks were good & strong. Bartender was cool with a great attitude. What more can you ask for? The only thing I would say could be better was seating. Other than that…we’re most definitely going back.

Don’t go here unless you want your real ID to get snapped in half. The incompetent bouncer (wears glasses with curly hair) snapped my friend’s real ID in half right away without even a second opinion, scanning it, etc. then laughed about it. It took her pulling out her military ID and talking to the manager for them to realize it’s real. She’s also from out of town so now she has to travel hours and go through the process of getting it replaced. The bartender was also very rude, chiming into a conversation she wasn’t a part of saying “well if they snapped it, it must be fake” which is extremely embarrassing for her and ignorant when she didn’t even know the extent of the situation. The manager was accommodating, but I suggest getting new bouncers or training them to be less dense and idiotic.

I went there after going to a different bar with my partner. I walked in with a drink and no one said a word. I just wanted to finish up that drink and continue to consume in the bar. The tall blonde staff dude with glasses snatched it out of my hand at some point saying he needed to confiscate it, “specially because it was alcoholic” (I don’t get it, this is a +21 space regardless). I asked if I could save it for when I was out of the establishment and he said no but that I could have it outside. I immediately took it and walked out of the bar but meanwhile he was still shit talking to my partner about how it was “one and done” and just creating an unnecessary scene when I totally understood the rule and immediately complied to what he said. I can just think about a billion ways he could’ve been more polite. Just acted like a jerk for no reason. We were about to start a pool game and just decided to pay for our 5 minutes worth of having the pool and leave, even when our plan was to stay and consume for the whole night. Have been there a handful of times but this is my last one. Entitled jerk, never again.

We made Mainstreet the home of our pool team because we appreciate the fantastic pool tables, the relaxing environment, the excellent venue and the helpful staff. At Palominos, you can enjoy a game of pool or ping pong while sipping on refreshing house-made cider or other drink options like $2 Tecate.
This is the best bar. A modern day Cheers in that everybody knows your name. But when you're here, you're family, so maybe it's more like a modern day Olive Garden? I don't even play pool; I just hang out for the groovy vibes, cold drinks, and the real treasure--the friends we made along the way.

Bad experience with bouncer. Had some friends visiting from Columbia. My friends showed the bouncer their IDs (Columbian drivers license). Bouncer was an old guy, probably in his 60s. He was rude saying they don't accept foreign license as ID and it's Florida law. We did challenge it at first because they had been using them all night elsewhere. So after he started to raise his voice we went to get their passports. I'll admit, he was correct about foreign license not being acceptable in Florida. However, right or wrong there, that didn't give him the right to call us be-ners when we returned. We left immediately after that.

We got there on Memorial Day right after it opened around 4:30ish. The first thing you need to know is that the parking is terrible due to the construction around the downtown area and specifically around this establishment. You can still find spots, but you might have to walk a little. There were three other tables occupied and one bartender. While we did not play on all the tables, I can say that the tables look to be in good playing shape (cleanliness, rails, felt). Most of the house sticks that you can find left on the wall were 20oz sticks with some variance. You are not likely to find multiple 18oz & 19oz sticks if the place has some traffic. Despite that, all the sticks with exception of a small few had decent tips and the stick themselves were as straight as you could expect. So even if you can’t find your weight, you have a good shot a at clean ball strike. The tables were nice to play on. There was enough pool chalk around to have your choice and pick what you wanted. If you are an experienced player then I would say the speed was medium to medium-fast. There is plenty of room around the 9 tables they have to play with multiple people. They have a good deals everyday. We played for $5 an hour which in today’s climate is a pretty good deal. The men’s bathroom looked clean and it smelled clean. I would not classify it as the traditional “pool hall bathroom”. They were full of supplies which isn’t always the case these days and it didn’t feel gross. The bar was small but it served its purpose. Most people go in there to play pool so I didn’t really expect a big one. Service was good and everything was priced with some reason. Didn’t grab the pricing menu, but there is one semi-good shot in the bar images. We didn’t go to “The Backyard” but it was easily accessible, had a bigger place for non pool players and was outdoors. There was a stage and an area for people who didn’t play pool towards the entrance of The Backyard. The only thing I noticed that might be an issue for some Is the rubber flooring around/underneath the tables. Some of the matting has chunks missing out of it as well as rips. If you are wearing closed shoes that have laces, you are good to go. If you are not sure-footed, you are going to want to stay away from loose sandals and anything resembling a heel. Overall it was a good time, comfortable environment and decent tables to play on. Definitely will go back again.

A couple of things to this review. As a feat venue this place was awesome. It was small and perfect for small bands. The air conditioning was on, they had a lot of great beverages. the bathrooms were normal and clean. And they had a few comfortable chairs and stools to sit on and rest. As a regular bar it was great. The staff was friendly and fun and seemed to enjoying the customers. I love that they played a lot of great stuff on the tv. Also I was stoked to see they played Thursday night football. Was looking hard in Gainesville to find TNF on Amazon to watch ravens and this was the only spot with it. But it was a good spot to watch ravens. As a pool hall, it’s pretty cool too. Lots of full size table and not too expensive to play. I’m bummed I forgot to buy a shirt before I left Florida

Rockeys Dueling Piano Bar is a lively lounge in Gainesville, offering live music, stand-up comedy, and open-mic nights for poets and musicians. The self-proclaimed best piano show in the country takes place Thursday through Saturday, fueled by audience requests. Guests can reserve a table to enjoy reasonably priced drinks while singing along to their favorite songs performed by pianists. This unique nightlife experience allows patrons to sing on stage or request their favorite tunes.
This place is off the charts fun. An amazing group a musicians, and in a good way, comedians. The energy is absolutely electric, and the way that they get the crowd participating in the music just has a way of sending pure joy throughout the crowd. What's even crazier, is that it is a very inexpensive night to go and have a lot of fun. If you show up before 9:00 p.m., they usually don't charge a cover. What does advice, do bring you a little bit of cash so that you can request a specific song. Get there early so you can get a table near the front.

Always a great time at rockeys. The pianists are incredible and know how to get the crowd going. The drinks are alright but a bit overpriced. They always run out of glasses and switch to plastic towards the end of the night. Watch out on your birthday they will ridicule you on stage if you would like for a free shot. I opted out of that lol.

It doesn't hold up to the old-school dueling piano bars of Chicago or New Orleans, but they do a great job with requests, keep the drinks flowing, and the staff went out of their way to accommodate our party of 3. They didn't charge us anything to reserve a table front and center, and they were even cool enough to take funny pics with us so the morning after, sober versions of ourselves could enjoy the night all over again. Great atmosphere! Have gone with friends and family in town alike and all enjoyed the evening! Sometimes guest pianists will come into town and play, adding to the fun! A little more busy at the beginning and end of the school year but still usually able to find a table.

Thursday night is Ladies night! Love the drinks they keep flowing! Requesting the music is freaking awesome!! The people on the piano gave me life and I saw some different races. I had a blast when I went tbh and I would go back !

I come here because I like the music, the drinks, and the crowd seems a bit more classy than that of midtown. They offer a good drink selection, but I have been disappointed in the quality of my mixed drinks more times than not. Keep your orders simple and your music choice eccentric, and it's a great place.

Restaurant
Nestled within Hotel Eleo, Covey Kitchen + Cocktails offers a sophisticated dining experience in Gainesville. This upscale restaurant is known for its Florida-inspired cuisine and exquisite brunch options, making it an ideal choice for special occasions or indulgent treats. The menu features unique dishes such as cinnamon rolls with Florida orange cream cheese frosting, fish and grits, and coconut French toast made with Cuban bread.
First of all the staff are working on Christmas when the patrons arrive. Major League points for me but they were very polite and friendly. The drinks were excellent and the mimosas were bottomless so you know we were having a blast. The view was spectacular. The food was on point and plenty of it. The American breakfast had these mashed potatoes that were amazing. Moist and just enough salt for taste. The bacon 🥓 was huge. The eggs scrambled are so good. And the burgers are to die for. Major moist and two Pattie’s. The fries are better than McDonald’s fries. No joke. So please enjoy the view and the service. And the drinks. It’s a little pricey but we’ll worth it.

Good, not great. We popped for a quick dinner. The hotel looks like a newer, trandier one. The menu was not updated on the website, so we were slightly surprised. Tried the Ribeye and Flat Iron steak, preferred the second. They were also testing their key lime pie, and I have to say, it was pretty good! While we'd cook better dinner ourselves, it was ok. It's still a solid option, just nothing special. The server was very helpful and knowledgeable about the gluten free options.

The wait staff are very friendly. The food is very salty and not plated well. The black plates show the oily finger prints that come from the cook to the waiter (They should always hold plates from the bottom to avoid fingerprints and smears on the top near the food.). The califlower appetizer is very good, the mashed potatoes are soooo salty I couldnt eat them, the small steak was disappointing. It sat on a small bed of lettuce that makes it hard to cut the steak into pieces. Its not very ideal at all. The au jus cheesesteak had legaments and fat and tasted very gamey, so the prep work was most likely minimal. I used the mashed potatoes and au jus cheese steak as compost (at home) since I didnt want to eat it. I was disappointed in the food due to the excessive amount of saltiness, plating, and flavor. In the photos you can see the oily fingerprints on the top of the plates. Thats a big no-no, and is also typically why most places serve with white plates to hide any finger smears.

As thanksgiving day restaurants go Covey kitchen is not exactly how mama used to make. This was more miss than hit. An overly seasoned turkey was the food low point. Mashed potatoes and salads fared a bit better. Service was below average. And the $148 charge ,,(18 percent was automatically added on for dinner for two) was definitely overpriced

Located inside the Eleo hotel it’s convenient. My drink was great and my food was good. It has more of “older people” vibe to be honest even though it’s near UF. So I think if you are a bit older I think you will enjoy this place. It has outdoor seating as well. It’s definitely not trendy , but a solid 4 star place.
Aleksandra M — Google review
We visited around 12:15pm on Tuesday since all the other Gainesville steakhouses open in the evening. Parking is valet only since the restaurant is inside the Eleo hotel, or you can walk from the free parking garage down the block to the restaurant. Restrooms were clean and 100% automated. The decor around the hotel is a minimalist nouveau style so very plain colors and barely any decorations. Carpet in the dining area was a questionable choice since anyone could see remnants of past stains on it. The restaurant was semi-busy for lunch and we landed a table near the kitchen. Electronic menu was interesting - low key minimal lunch menu. My husband and I ordered 2 hot teas, the 6 Oz. flank steak (well-done), crispy cauliflower appetizer, french onion dip sandwich with a side of boursin garlic whipped potatoes, and grilled salmon also with the whipped potatoes. The food arrived about 15 minutes after our order. Crispy cauliflower was spicy and excellent with the dipping sauce. Perfect for sharing. This was the best part of the meal. The steak, salmon, and sandwich arrived soon after. Oily fingerprints on the black plates were mildly unappealing so I wiped them off with the table napkin. We also found it odd the steak was placed on top of a bed of lettuce since that made it difficult to cut, but at least it was tender and tasted ok. The salmon was cooked well and did not have any fishy flavor at all (which is good). We finished the steak and salmon. However, the side of boursin garlic whipped potatoes was extremely salty, a heart-palpitating amount of salt, so after realizing the entire side tasted like this, it was inedible. My husband then tried the French onion dip sandwich and encountered a tough fatty ligament on the 2nd or 3rd bite so he decided to stop eating and we asked for the check and to go containers. We wouldn't be eating our leftovers, but the garden compost would certainly enjoy it. Total was $110 with appropriate tip. Customer service was excellent and the waitstaff are friendly, professional, and very accommodating. But after being disappointed in our lunch, first and last time we're eating here.

Ordered the double burger. It was delicious nothing extraordinary. The truffle fries were also good. They serve Pepsi products. Service was great and the view was beautiful despite the awkward location. Valet was complimentary, not sure if this was only for dining. The dining area is very clean, business casual. The service provides the elegance without the white table cloths.
L P — Google review
I've always had a nice meal. It's got a medium price point and by all metrics they meet that very well. Service was fantastic and the food was quite tasty. Their holiday buffets are also usually really solid with good selection and everything is tasty.

really enjoyed coming here! the girl i talked to was super sweet, polite, and informative. she took the time to explain the difference between kratom and kava, as well as giving us suggestions and explaining the different flavors. there was also some good live music, and a great atmosphere overall. highly recommend

All these reviews less than 5 stars are just crazy to me. This kava bar is one of the best out there. The owners are incredible, kind, and very knowledgeable about their products. The atmosphere is so cool and cozy with games, crystals, space to work, etc. It always smells good, looks clean, and the drinks always hit! They’re not “cheap” but you get what you pay for… and every drink is worth the price!! I love this place and always stop in every time I’m in Gainesville. Thank you Mai Kai for having such an inviting space for us to relax and connect. Bula!

Nestled in the vibrant heart of downtown Gainesville, The Wooly Event Hall stands out as a premier wedding venue that exudes luxury and charm. With its unique blend of exposed brick walls and vintage decor, this historic space offers an industrial chic atmosphere perfect for couples looking to celebrate their love with style. Accommodating up to 400 guests for standing events or 150 for seated dinners, The Wooly provides in-house catering and beverage services to ensure a seamless experience.
Five stars is simply not enough stars for the experience that I had when I had my wedding at The Wooly. I am a type A bride who spent 15 months planning our wedding. Bailey and her staff at the Wooly were there for me every step of the way. To making sure my vision came to life, to easing whatever anxiety I was having each week, to doing everything in their power to make sure we stayed within our budget without having to compromise what we wanted. Bailey went above and beyond and truly helped us have the wedding of our dreams. We had both our ceremony and reception at The Wooly and on the day of the event the venue was stunning, the staff were exceptional and our 100 guests had the time of their lives. People were RAVING about the food. The music never stopped (shout out DJ CAM). There was never a line at the bar. Everything was so perfect. Honestly, I wish we could go back and do it all over again because it was THAT fun! I cannot recommend Bailey and The Wooly enough!
Blair L — Google review
We recently hosted at event at The Wooly for the Women’s Council Of Realtors. As the event coordinator I worked very closely with Bailey and Calli and they were fabulous. I had to be extremely detail oriented as our event was expecting 120-150 guests and while this is an annual event our organization has hosted for nearly 20 years, moving it to The Wooly meant we had to rewrite the playbook. They accommodated several visits to the venue so I could go over our layout as we hosted a fashion show in addition to a silent auction, dinner and dancing. Many of our guests said it was the best it had ever been, they loved the venue and loved the food. The lighting, decor and vibe were perfect for our 70’s themed event.

Review for: The Wooly/The Top/Top Secret Events/ Bailey Bruce Where to begin? We had what is currently being called by all, “The BEST wedding and the BEST reception EVER!” First off, the team that helped us was incredible. From the moment we met Bailey at the Wooly, she helped us solidify our vision. She was extremely helpful with every question/concern we had. She really listened and understood who we were right away. Bailey introduced us to our wedding planner and her team (Calla with Mercer & Smith, who are BEYOND the best, BTW), who work with The Wooly for day of planning, so we chose to hire Calla and Mercer & Smith for the entire wedding, including the offsite portions. We chose The Wooly for the vibe, firstly. We were so taken by the venue, with its unique touches and its awesome history. We could see how the space could be either as modern as a person wanted, or as retro. We loved this place, and began to highlight our very loose vision to Bailey. We knew we wanted a full reception with a live band, so we rented the whole space (including the bonus room). They were able to make a plan to utilize the entire space to accommodate both a cocktail lounge, a dinner party and flip it for live music and dancing. We had a live big band playing on the stage. It was SO COOL! It was nice that the Wooly team were able and willing to work with our vision, the band, and the house production people and just make it happen! That to me, means this is an INCREDIBLE group of people, with a venue that offers EVERYTHING! Even a small closet for me to change into my second dress (because my wedding dress was going to be WAY too much to try to dance in)! The in-house catering from The Top was a huge success. In summation: you have a visionary in Bailey, who gets along and helps coordinate with the other vendors right away, you have this gorgeous venue, you have food that really is “The Top,” and you have all the other people involved in Bailey’s team that truly are INCREDIBLE. And they were! From thoughtful touches to fantastic planning, this team and venue is the way to go. If it weren’t for Bailey, we wouldn’t have had the absolutely perfect wedding that we were able to have. I can’t wait to do our next party with them! Just need to find a reason…… *photos are previews by ASHLEY DYE PHOTOGRAPHY*

Amazing experience!!! I 100% recommend this facility for any and all events. We held my nephew's 16th birthday party here and had a blast. The staff was beyond amazing, and the building was stunning as is. As a picky individual, I rate Wooly 10 out of 10 in all categories. I will definitely be holding all future events at this facility.
Angel J — Google review
My wife and I had our wedding reception at The Wooly in March, and we still constantly talk about what an amazing job Bailey and her staff did for us on the biggest day of our lives! Bailey was incredible to work with and made whatever crazy idea (orange and blue glittery Jello shots!) we had come to life. We had our food catered through them, and they were able to make a cohesive and tasty custom food/drink menu for us. We were also offered a food tasting prior to our wedding so we could try out our food choices and make any changes we felt necessary. We still have friends and family talk to us about how good the food was at our wedding. The Wooly staff working the night of our wedding were also top notch! They even adjusted the lighting in the venue to help match the color palette that we had. They were very professional, attentive to our guests and very nice people. In my opinion, there is no better place in Gainesville to hold events at. They are in a league of their own.
Brandon H — Google review
Having our wedding reception at the Wooly was the best decision we could have made! It was wonderful working with Bailey and Calli! They were very accommodating, easy to talk to and made everything so easy. The ambiance, the food (Catered by the Top), the drinks, the wedding package with Mercer and Smith (who are amazing as well) and the staff were amazing! I appreciate all their hard work and efforts! My husband is Brazilian, and they were very willing to make some traditional desserts called Brigadeiro for the reception as well. Among our guests, everyone only had positive things to say about the venue and the staff! I absolutely recommend holding your reception or other events at the Wooly!
Natalie H — Google review
I recently held an after party for my wedding at the Wooly and had the best time. It was the perfect space to continue the party late into the night with our family and friends. Bailey and the entire team were incredible!

The Wooly (and Top Secret Events) were super easy to work with, and very accommodating of my witchy wedding dreams. We had catering from The Top, and everything came together flawlessly. Bailey and Brianna were very helpful and communicative- which really reduced wedding planning stress, and was greatly appreciated. All of the staff were masked and very helpful, as well. Thank you all for making my wedding so wonderful! HIGHLY RECOMMEND. <3

Fat Daddy's, affectionately known as Fats, is a vibrant hotspot pulsating with the beats of dance and house music. This lively venue attracts a diverse crowd, from local Greeks to University of Florida athletes, making it a popular choice for those looking to unwind. Expect an electric atmosphere filled with energy and excitement; it's often packed to the brim, creating a warm ambiance that feels alive with camaraderie.
Might take you a while to get in on a busy night but you’ll see what the fuss is all about. It’ll always be crowded, because everyone wants to be there. This is the place your parents warned you about. The loaded Coronas are sure to make you forget your ex. The dark atmosphere, loud music, and cheap drinks are sure to present you your next!
Victor G — Google review
This is a classic in Midtown, but after a couple trips, I can see why I was warned to not go. Fats has a history of dangerous occurrences, including many incidents of drinks getting spiked and sending students to the hospital. The bar is 21+ with a $10 cover, but anyone underage who pays the bouncer $20 can get in. Once you are in, there is no shoulder room since they pack it to the brim. The floor is sticky, so wear shoes you don't care about. That said, it is a good place to have a good time, but for me is more of a one and done.

Most r@cist place I have ever encountered. Bartender for no reason at all went crazy on my African American friend. All she did was ask for her card back after ordering her drink. Bartender stuck up both middle fingers at us and said you guys need to get the f out. She went and got the "manager" and he told us the same thing. I asked him what is the reason for this and no answer could be given. All he kept saying was I need you guys to leave. For no reason AT ALL. As we were leaving we stopped to sit to the side away from the bar and a bouncer grabbed my boyfriend telling him we need to go. My boyfriend standing up for his own rights asked him not to touch him like that and before I knew it he was getting thrown out of the bar. When we got out of the bar I told the bouncer he was crazy and there is no reason he should have grabbed him like that. Random guy outside tossed my drink onto the floor and pushed me to where I stumbled. My boyfriend then of course got upset and asked this guy what is wrong with him. This guy was like 6'2 and threw a punch at my boyfriend. The police came and were not able to help us at all. They said if we filed a report against the guy who went violent on my boyfriend and myself that they would both go to jail.. leaving us no choice but to walk away from that place. Disgusting people work and go there. Bartenders drink on the job and bouncers are horrible people.! Worst place I've ever been to.
Marcia R — Google review
Couldn't stand this bar/club. Could barely move to dance and was constantly being pushed around by people trying to get by. A tightly bunched mosh pit is probably the best description of this place. Alcoholic slushy did not live up to expectations.
RumAndPancakes — Google review
This place is a dangerous, hostile environment. On Saturday 12/11/21 the low-life bouncers literally kicked people out by beating them up and sending one guy to the hospital with a broken cheekbone - mind you, it wasn’t even 2am (official closing time) yet and no one was causing any trouble. The owner should be held liable and the bouncers should be criminally charged for what they did to all the patrons that night.
Juan P — Google review
If I could give this place a 0 I would. There was way too many people there and they only let girls on the bar. What if a guy wants to get up there. Not right at all. Will never go back and would suggest no one ever go here!!!!!!!!!! Sad :( also people In the men’s restroom doing drugs

Yesterday’s experience was one of the best experiences I’ve had in a very long time at this place. New crowd, great people and better music. Bartenders were quick and efficient compared to these other bars in Gainesville and the DJ had way more musical energy than any others I’ve seen in town. It was crowded till 1:30 and the backyard and there was very little room to dance. The overall crowd is very young in their twenties mostly. The music was not Caribbean on Friday night by the way. There is an inside DJ where there was pool tables and a little room to dance but overall it's not a big dance Vibe it's more of a suicidal hook up and drink vibe but I did meet some very cool people there that were very nice and people seem generally happy

Bank Bar & Lounge is a laid-back nightclub located in a former bank building, offering an extensive selection of martinis, beer, and wine. Established in 1873 by Henry F. Dutton, a Union Army veteran, this upscale lounge was founded in 2001 by four University of Florida graduates with the aim of creating a superior club experience. The main bar room features alluring blue lights and cozy couches around fireplaces for lounging.
Great experience. I took someone a little unfamiliar with the club scene. The atmosphere was low key fun with decent drinks and music. So it was fun for both of us. It made for a great New Year's. It's a def fun stop to make on any night in Gainesville.

The place wasn't exactly what I was expecting but it was still very quaint and nice! We had our 20th re-union hear for High School and we all had a blast! There was about 40 of us and there was plenty of room for all of us along with food and plenty of drinks to go around.

Sunday night, reading reviews, thought I'd stop by for a quick drink, opted for the averized espresso martini. Was made to perfection..... 10:20pm so slow, bartender said 11pm will be hop'in. Clean open space, good music playing, spot for band and proud or dancing.... Hope the review is useful

There were not many people there that nice. The bartenders were nice. One of them communicated with me in sign language and made me feel welcome.. It is not always Deaf people get this kind of welcome.. The drink I had was wasn't that good. Half of the bar was closed off so I didn't really get a chance to see the bank looking atmosphere..maybe next time.

Good spot for laying low if you want to chill on a night out. When we went the DJ wasn't that good and the energy was really low. I recommend going there if you are a laid back and low key person, but not if you want energy and to really let loose or dance. Decent bartenders are the only reason for the 4 stars. Other than that, would be 3.

Rented out this place for my H.S. reunion. Nice atmosphere. But the DJ couldve done a better job. Not sure if we hired him for this gig. Or if he works here, but he was playing songs that nobody knew. The bartender/owner wasa great guy. Very personable, and kept the drinks coming!

Great drinks, excellent service, and a great atmosphere! We were disappointed to find out there were no tacos today though. My only other recommendations is that: It's also a little difficult to get to the bar when it starts to fill up, my suggestion would be to remove some of the chairs from the bar so theres more space for those who are standing.

Tall Paul's Brew House is a laid-back brewpub housed in a historic 1880s stable that used to belong to the Gainesville Fire Department. The pub features a spacious and cool atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for enjoying their seasonal small-batch beers made from local ingredients. In addition to crafting their own beers on-site, Tall Paul's also hosts the Alligator Brewing Co., which operates a nanobrewery at the back of the establishment.
I had a great experience here. As a solo business traveler I enjoyed great conversation. They brew their own beer, and have other great options. The staff was friendly. The bartender Mandy was excellent! She's friendly and has a high level of knowledge about their beers. I met one of the brewers Jack, and I enjoyed talking to him about their brews.

Great location, and finally gives me a reason to go downtown. It's very new, and that still shows, but it has plenty of space and a very large bar, so ordering drinks is not as difficult as some other, cozier places. Very good beer selection too, especially given how new it is. Prices are average to cheaper than average. I'll be back many times!

Really neat location. Looks like it was an old warehouse or something, but it's been beautifully restored. Lots of bar seating and plenty of tables too. Very spacious, and on cool nights, they open up the huge, sliding glass windows. Great tap, bottle, and wine selections with good prices. Foosball and shuffleboard tables. GREAT music selections (they had a mix of MJ, James Brown, Marvin Gaye, Beatles, rap, etc., when I was there). There is something for everyone, which was apparent because there were so many different types of people there.

The good beer selection was about all I liked about this place. The doorman was incredibly rude, the bartenders were somewhat rude, and the foosball table sucks. My friend ordered a golden ale and got what was definitely a hefeweizen. Not only that, but she was given a glass that was 2/3 full and the bartender explained that that beer usually comes in a smaller glass but they were out of those. I would never do something like that if I was serving! Lastly, it was very, very loud in there, and the live music was not enjoyable at that volume.

Good selection of beer. They have cover bands in here frequently, and consequently charge cover on said evenings. I'd personally be okay with that, if the building didn't have terrible acoustics. If you want to have a conversation without screaming, go elsewhere.

This place is amazing. The people there are very friendly, people that work there are even more so, I have no idea what crawled up Mr./Mrs. paperbutt's... well butt, but I have never had a bad experience there. the bar games are free, TV's everywhere, amazing artwork on the walls and some of the best beers I've found in this place. after being there only a couple times people knew me by name and I've never had problems with getting beer. If you are uncertain about what something tastes like they do not hesitate to give you a sample. It can get loud during Gator game nights or when there is live entertainment but use your head, if you don't like a loud environment, don't go in there on these nights. they have free darts, fussball, shuffle board, giant connect four, ring toss, and now have a skeeball game.
Lucas R — Google review
The bartender was friendly and they do allow outside food, which is really nice. However, the location is more of a sports bar than a typical brewery taproom, and their house beers (Alligator Brewing Co) tasted kind of funky, like they might have been accidentally contaminated with bret.
Robin C — Google review
If you like beer, don't prefer mid, and don't want to feel like you're dressing up in your sunday's finest to go downtown: go here. Alligator Brewing is an operation behind the bar always supplying the taps with great beers; Tall Paul's always has a large selection of guest taps to try. Go on a weekend for live music and a crowd; go on a weeknight to have the chance to learn about the beers they're offering at the time from your bartender. Open space, and things to do (shuffleboard, darts, jumbo connect-four, etc)

Event venue
Simons is a long-standing nightclub and events venue located on Main St. in midtown Gainesville. It has a historic significance for hosting renowned DJs like John Digweed and Sasha in the 90s, but nowadays it's not as popular unless popular DJs like Noizu or Liquid Stranger are performing. The club features wide open floors that are usually packed with patrons dancing to electronic dance music played by various DJs.
Simon's is LEGENDARY! This historic venue is one of the first electronic music venues in the State of Florida and has played host to the WORLD'S TOP ELECTRONIC MUSIC PRODUCERS and DJs over the years. If you are a fan of underground electronic music, especially House, Tech House, Jungle, Drum and Bass, and Techno, this is the place to go. The vibe is very undergroundish and reminds me of the golden days of the L.A. Underground and Rave scene. If you go here, ALWAYS check to see who is performing. Often you will be blessed with some of the best DJs in the world. I have seen so many amazing DJs over the years Josh Wink, Danny Tenaglia, Green Velvet, Claude VonStroke, LTJ Bukem, Evil Eddie Richards, DJ SS, AK1200, Dieselboy, John Summit, Dillon Francis, Dombresky, Sasha & Digweed, and so many, many more. Honestly, if you are here for the music and want to dance in one of the most legendary nightclubs in Florida, check out Simon's! It's iconic and has had such amazing talent perform there. It is honestly a very magical venue!

We went for the Latin night, and the music was pretty good. I will say it can get VERY loud, so if you are sensitive, earplugs can be helpful. Pretty spacious dance floor. I didn't love the drinks. We got cranberry vodca, and it felt like just cranberry juice. I think overall a good place for dancing if you go on theme specific nights.

Decided to go here for a girls night out with my friend, dowloaded tickets to get into the event for free and a week and a half prior. I contacted the number given on fb to make sure the event was still on and i asked what the prices for vip were and the person messeged back and told me $10 to skip the line for vip . When we arrived, there was a ridiculously long line so we went to the vip line we were told we could not go in right away unless we paid $20 for vip. And when I showed them the tickets they acted like they had no clue what I was talking about, I showed them the text messages from earlier and I said they told me $10 so they honored that but when we got in there it was chaos, people pushing and shoving and spilling their drinks on us so we went right back out the door and said hey this is not what we were expecting in this establishment and we just want a refund and that we want to leave we aren't going to drink here, that we cant even get to the bar, but they refused to refund us so one of the bouncers said they would help us get to the "free" drinks . When we got up there ,after swimming through a sea of people pushing and shoving us around like a mosh pit we each got one very small glass of what tasted like dirty kool-aid toilet water so, we promptly left the club! This was my first and definitely my LAST time at Simon's!!!!!! What a dump!

Not terrible not great. A pretty average club that gets a bit more hate than it deserves- but not by much. Come with a friend and you’ll have a great time, but it’s not somewhere you’ll meet anyone outside of Halloween events.
Tristan W — Google review
Has a history of posting about "all you can drink until X" and then telling you they are no longer offering the promotion once you've paid to get in already. The promotion was on their story as I ordered my drink and they refused to honor until I argued profusely

Extremely racist staff equals an extremely racist experience. My friend is here for a summer Languge program and I came to visit her. We were three people and went to the front of the line around 1 am. They tried to charge up 20 dollars each, because they assumed none of us went to college, and then tried to charge us 30 for the 3 of us. They then closes 5 minutes later and I went to confront the white bouncer about why he didn’t tell us about that and he tried to fight me. I will never have proof about why I know he is racist but he made sure to let everyone else but us know that it wasn’t worth it, because I stayed near to listen to what he told them.

We went here for my boyfriends 21st birthday. First, they tried to charge us 20$ cover a person. Then after some arguing we got t down to 10$ a person. The second we walked in we got patted down by a bouncer. The club was completely empty. We asked if we could talk to the DJ for a birthday song, and they said ‘no,’ even though our group was like half of the people in the whole place. We asked if we could leave and get reentry and they said ‘no,’ even after charging us 10$ a person for a party of all 21+ The entire time we were treated like trash for my boyfriends 21st. We left and it was the best decision we made that night. I see why the place was empty on a Friday night in a college town. Not my first time here, definitely my last.

Nestled within the stylish Hotel Indigo in Celebration Pointe, Gather: Social Lounge is a delightful hidden gem in Gainesville that promises an enjoyable dining and drinking experience. With its chic and modern decor, this lounge offers a warm atmosphere complemented by friendly and professional staff. Guests can indulge in delicious dishes like tuna tartare, short rib tostones, and chicken with mofongo while sipping on expertly crafted martinis from the talented bartender Frederick.
Well setup and furnished. Staff was very friendly and professional. Music by DreamerJaz was top notch. The featured artist, Brian Wilson had a variety of work and they were all very good. I was very impressed with the entire show.
James D — Google review
It’s a nice area. But there’s no service, just one person at the bar. They didn’t brought what we order, the sensation is that they cooked with what they had in the refrigerator. Much better options in the area/walking distance and in Gainesville as general.
Victor T — Google review
Nothing on the website is available, one person running the whole bar and restaurant. Very disappointing.
Jahare V — Google review
Can’t review a restaurant thats still not open except for breakfast. This seems to be an issue with other Hotel Indigo restaurants as well. The one time ( Pre COVID ) we dined at a Hotel Indigo restaurant, the food was blasé at best. We opted to have breakfast elsewhere as a result.
Kevin W — Google review
Horrible food, managers were super rude as well. Coffee tasted like mud and super expensive. don’t recommend
Jade C — Google review
Tuna tartare was excellent as was the short rib tostones and chicken with mofongo. Excellent martini and Frederick the bartender was the best!
Katherine J — Google review
Very nice vibe, the restaurant is inside the Indigo Hotel. Stop by for a bite and jazz music was playing outside. Love love love
