Live music bar
Yellow Cab Tavern, located in a former taxi company building, has retained its unique theme and is renowned as one of Dayton's top spots for live music. The venue hosts various special events such as food truck rallies, art shows, comedy nights, and more. It has transformed from an abandoned cab garage into a cultural hub where art shows, food truck rallies, and indie music gigs take place. Patrons praise the bartending staff for their efficiency even during busy times.
YC is the best. I’ve attended so many wonderful events here and the staff is incredible. 69 out of 10 stars

Great venue for various entertainment. Great staff and decent pizza. Pretty good selection of beers and liquors and the ladies mix them well.
Wendy C — Google review
The people that run this place are fantastic. Had my husband's 50th birthday party here. Everything was great. Recommend the caprese pizza. They have gluten free options.
Melissa K — Google review
Great drink specials and some themed for the event they had. There is a lot of outdoor and indoor seating. Stage and music was great! The girls bathrooms are decorated wonderfully and stocked with girly supplies. They even had tampon ghosts on a string with googly eyes adorned everywhere. Didn't try the pizza truck they had but it looked good. I will be back, really cool spot! Bartenders were super friendly.

Yellow Cab was great! Fun relaxing environment with local live music. It definitely doesn’t hurt that Pizza Bandit is their food option. Amazing pizza with unique choices and flavors!! Can’t wait to go back!
Laura F — Google review
Yellow Cab always has great beer on tap. We go for happy hour and can beat the prices. Staff is always kind and considerate. There are many bands performing and I’ve heard the pizza was good as well.

Great location and a great atmosphere. Great brunch in the morning. Great music in the evening. And always a solid changing selection of local beers. Yellow Cab it's one of my favorite Dayton locations.

Carillon Historical Park is a 65-acre open-air museum in Ohio that offers visitors a journey through Dayton's rich history, inventions, and transportation milestones. Established in 1940, the park showcases the region's heritage from its founding in 1796 to contributions during World War II.
Such an awesome place! You'll be doing a lot of walking, but it's worth it. There's a lot of cool stuff to see! Be sure to ride the train! It takes you around the whole park and gives you some interesting historical facts. Definitely a fun place for kids too! If it's a weekend or special event, I'd purchase your tickets online beforehand. Plenty of parking, staff is nice and the food at the cafe is pretty good! Get the pancakes 👌🏼

Lots of different and unique displays many dealing with Dayton history and manufacturing. There were displays that interest kiddos of all ages. There is a half scale train that was running every hour, a tube slide and a carousel. There was an enormous display of cash register and some toys manufactured in the area. An interactive model train town was very popular. Various displays of trains, Street cars, bicycles, early cars, and Wright brothers and birth of flight.
Zuum — Google review
Wonderful place to go and spend the day learning and reminiscing about Dayton and all its contributions. Brought back so many memories and was able to tell grandkids about the places. So many neat things to see and learn about. They do a great job of restoring and maintaining the vast museum items and artifacts. They even have a working carousel and train, and you can’t forget about the working printing press. They have a great section about the devastating 1913 flood. This place is to be enjoyed by young and old alike. And if you’re adventurous enough, climb the 8 story tower that holds the old Gem City clock. So much to see.

A must-visit gem in Dayton! Carillon Historical Park is one of the most impressive and well-designed historical sites I’ve ever visited. It perfectly blends education, history, and nature — making it enjoyable for both adults and kids. From the moment you enter, you can tell how much care and effort has gone into preserving Dayton’s incredible history, especially its deep connection to innovation and aviation. The exhibits are fascinating — especially the Wright Brothers section, which gives you a real sense of how much Dayton contributed to the world of flight. The Carillon Tower itself is breathtaking, both in scale and in the way it symbolizes the city’s heritage. I also loved exploring the old buildings, vintage trolleys, and beautifully restored machinery — it truly feels like stepping back in time. The park grounds are beautifully maintained, with peaceful walking paths, scenic spots for photos, and plenty of benches to relax. The staff and volunteers are friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what they do — they make the history come alive. Don’t miss the Brewery and the Carillon Brewing Co., where you can enjoy excellent food and locally brewed beer in a historical atmosphere — it’s such a unique experience! Whether you’re a history lover, an aviation enthusiast, or just looking for a great day out in Dayton, Carillon Historical Park is absolutely worth the visit. It’s educational, inspiring, and beautifully done — a true treasure for the city and anyone who loves American history. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

New to the Ohio area and live about 25 minutes South of here so we decided to come check it out. Really glad we did! First the people working here are awesome. Helpful, kind and informative. We walked the entire area, road the big train and even jumped on the little train for a ride. Little train isn't always available to ride but apparently we came on the right day...throws you back to feeling like a kid for a few minutes! The grounds are kept up well, the walk is easy and relaxing and the big train is a nice relaxing ride around the park. Sit is the right place near one of the staff and they'll fill you in on the history and anything else you would want to know about. The park is full of history. I had no idea about the industrial impact Dayton had on the country at one time. Each stop at a new building is rich with information and there are plenty of cool things to look at. Wright brothers Museum was just as good as the rest of the park. Much larger than expected and lots of details about the Wright brother and their first flights. Overall it was neat to be thrown back in time and see where innovation has brought us. Even if you're not a big fan of history, it's worth the visit to check out some cool things on a relaxing walk around the park.

Absolutely love it! It was a spontaneous decision to go here as a date. It was a hit like escaping the city and going on vacation. You really will feel like you're not in Dayton Ohio. They have many things to see, and you must get the all-day train pass. Then before you leave, get some of the great food at their restaurant!
Kevin F — Google review
I visited Carillon Historical Park for the antique fire apparatus show and had a fantastic experience. It was a joy to photograph the vintage equipment and explore the park’s well-curated exhibitions. The park is exceptionally clean, easy to navigate, and offers a rich, engaging display of Dayton’s industrial history. A must-visit for history and photography enthusiasts alike!

So much to learn! Of course the Wright Brothers was fascinating, but also the printing press shop. Enjoyed riding the “railroad” (which is actually all electric!)

Irish pub
Gastropub
The Dublin Pub is a cozy Irish watering hole in Dayton, Ohio, known for its authentic Irish-accented pub grub and live music events. The pub offers a variety of drink options and delicious food choices, including appetizers like the Emerald Ale Dip and Barney Stones, as well as classic dishes such as Fish and Chips and Shrimp and Chips.
This is a great place to eat especially if you have a large group. They offer you a catering menu or you can choose from the menu. Our group chose from the menu and they were excellent in bringing out the food as it was ready. It didn't come out all at once but we were prepared for that and it was never a problem.Everything was delicious, and the staff was very helpful and friendly. They even supplies a pitcher of Shirley temples since that was what one entire group ordered. Would definitely recommend this place.
Missy H — Google review
We loved this place! Our waiter Brice was so nice and fun. The menu had so many great options! They also had a lot of beer on tap to choose from. Such an awesome vibe!
Kelly S — Google review
We googled restaurants to eat on our recent trip to Dayton, Ohio and this pub came up. What a delightful fine-the food was excellent. It’s a charming exterior and interior with decor music, lighting. We settled on fish and chips and the Huntsman brisket sandwich and was it delicious, so much so that I think we will go back before we leave town There’s quite a bit of intimate seating, meaning the tables are divided from the next table and you don’t feel like you’re sitting on top of someone. There is live music available but not the day we were there.
Leassia T — Google review
A fantastic place. We’re Brits visiting the US and we had a fantastic welcome. Tip, sit at the bar and chat, everyone is so friendly. Great Guinness, it is the real McCoy. Great food, the pork chop was excellent. Great service from Amanda. An absolutely wonderful local pub, and that’s before I mention the live music! When we return to Dayton we’ll be straight back in here.
Ian M — Google review
In all fairness, I’m an out-of-town visitor who stopped in on a Tuesday night for a Guinness, a bite to eat, and some trivia. This place checks all the boxes for an Irish pub: an interior decor decked out in old wood finishes, a zillion types of Irish whiskeys at-the-ready, some TVs showing sports ball, etc. But the most noticeable thing is their signage, which touts the Dublin Pub as being “Top 10 in the U.S.” Maybe it is, I dunno, but the fact is that it’s in Dayton - not exactly a well-known Irish hotspot. And my meal, the pub classic Shepherd’s Pie, was bland and far from being top 10 anywhere. But the Guinness was perfect and the vibes were top 10. Maybe not in the entire U.S., but at least in Dayton proper.
Robert S — Google review
First time here. Food was outstanding. Fish and chips among the best. Service was great. Draft and whiskey selection were awesome. Nice vibe
Michael F — Google review
Neat building. Food is good, not a lot on menu that I care for but love atmosphere. Service usually always very good.
Sharma C — Google review
My recent visit to The Dublin Pub in Dayton was anchored by one truly spectacular dish: their World Famous Potato Soup. I came in wanting a warm bowl, and what arrived was honestly one of the best potato soups I've ever tasted. It was rich, perfectly creamy, and deeply comforting, a star dish that lives up to its "famous" name. Following the soup, I was also planning to enjoy a salad, but the soup was so unexpectedly satisfying that the salad remained untouched by me. Luckily, my husband was more than happy to enjoy it alongside his entrée. For his main course, he ordered the classic Fish and Chips. This dish is The Dublin Pub's top seller, and it delivered exactly what you’d expect from a great Irish pub: crispy, house-made beer-battered fish served with their hearty wedge fries. Overall, the atmosphere was welcoming, and the food was exactly the kind of satisfying, high-quality pub fare you crave. While the Fish and Chips and the surprisingly filling salad were great, the Potato Soup is the undisputed highlight of the menu and an absolute must-try. 4 stars for atmosphere only because it was so loud, but it definitely has the pub atmosphere vibe if that's what you're looking for!!

Restaurant
Tank's Bar & Grill is a laid-back and casual hangout spot that offers a diverse menu featuring all-day breakfast, burgers, overstuffed deli sandwiches, specialty sandwiches, award-winning chili, and an extensive beer selection. It's known for its great breakfast options and mimosas. The bar has a relaxed atmosphere making it perfect for catching sports games or hanging out with friends.
Our first time at this restaurant. On a Sunday afternoon the wait looked ridiculous but it really was 5-8 minutes after putting our name in. We sat up the stairs which was nice because we could see the bar and everyone. Loved the plants hanging everywhere. The food portions were stupid huge compared to the small prices. I got the club and could have shared it with someone else. Impressed and will be back.
Jessica S — Google review
Tanks is awesome!!! Great food, good service, fast service, and a clean restaurant. Very large portions, very reasonably priced, especially for the amount and quality of food you get. I highly recommend this place. They also have a very large full service bar.
John H — Google review
Based on our experience yesterday with the Butter Cafe, we were somewhat hesitant to choose another restaurant off of Google’s best restaurants in Dayton, OH list, but we did any ways. We are so very glad that we did! Tanks breakfast was absolutely delicious! One of the best mimosas I have ever had. The food was fantabulous and the service was awesome! We were very pleased with our visit.
Lynn W — Google review
I've always had a good time at Tanks. Relaxed dine-in area and great food whether it's Breakfast, Lunch, or Dinner. And you'll always leave with a full stomach. Also if you not hungry and just wanna get a drink with your friends that's an option. The moral of the story if haven't given them a try you should.
Bryan — Google review
Cozy old school bar with superb food. It was my first time yesterday and I was supremely satisfied. The have the BEST dip I've ever tasted! Try it! I heard it was a secret family recipe and it was really good! The chicken salad sandwich which Jeff got was good too and I had the porkchop. Service was great. Not sure on other days, but it was pretty packed when we came (it was Sunday) so you may have to wait a little to be seated but if you don't mind sitting at the bar (which we did) then its all good. :)
Izzyquinnzilla — Google review
My daughters and I enjoyed lunch Wednesday. The special was meatloaf, it was perfect. That you h of crispy on the bottom. Solid and flavorful. The green beans were awesome. I will order those again. My adult daughters both ordered pancakes and personalized them. Both agreed 1 pancake would have been enough. They ordered 2 and it was way too much.
Deborah J — Google review
This is an amazing tavern and family restaurant. The wait was certainly worth it. Onion rings were massive. The deep fried pork cutlet sandwich was amazing, with a crispy breading that was one of the best I have ever eaten. While crowded, even on a Sunday afternoon, this is certainly a place to visit if you are ever in Dayton. Highly recommended!
Gordon P — Google review
I love Tanks! They have some of the best wings in the city, and their menu is endless. Even having all day breakfast! I usually get their Broasted Wings with the “Jacked Up Garlic BBQ” sauce. You get a great warm welcome when you arrive and they are quick to make sure you’re doing okay. I didn’t have to ask for my drink to be refilled because the waitress was already ahead of it. That’s something that we all can appreciate. Overall you should definitely check out Tanks and please try out their “Broasted” wings you’re going to love them. 😁

Historic Sites
SunWatch Indian Village is an educational museum that brings to life the 13th-century Fort Ancient culture of Native American tribes in Dayton. The site aims to protect and research the cultural remains of the Sun Watch National Historic Landmark archaeological site, offering visitors a glimpse into the daily lives of Dayton's early inhabitants. Accredited by various associations, including the American Association of Museums, it features exhibits and artifacts showcasing the original Native American community.
A small but worthwhile museum/archeological site. A roughly 10-15 minute video within the museum provides context about the site, which I recommend viewing before heading outside.
Grant W — Google review
First, let me say this is worth a visit for the education and history. The exhibits were neat but over half were closed at the time we went. I also found that some of the information in the exhibit lacked clarity (ex. dug on site? Etc). The informational video was great. There was definitely less to see than several years ago given the review pictures. I was hoping for a little more outside, even informational signs describing more detail while on site. The signs leading up to the site outside were great. Also, of their website worked I think that would be helpful for people who want to plan a trip. As of 2025 - $7 adults. $6 age 3 and up. Under 3 are free.
Kaitlin T — Google review
I think the idea of this place is cool, but it really needs some money put into it. I'm glad we went on a Free day because I would have been upset to pay an entrance fee for what is there. There is a super small inside gallery area. A bunch of exhibits were covered so you couldn't see them. The outside is a small village with two structures. It was cool to go in and see you those looked like. There are plaques with what is around the circle area and you can either scan the QR code to get that information or borrow one of their books to learn about it. I think that's pretty cool. I think there is massive room for improvement and making things just look nicer. I think those in charge could learn a lot from how the Great Council State Park was done. Lots of room for more hands and interactive things to keep the kids interesting in learning about our past. This could also spell more revenue from schools for Field Trips.
Amanda A — Google review
Cool little museum and research site. Clerk was knowledgeable and friendly. Gift shop is small with small treasures, bathrooms open to public. There is a video introduction that you can watch if you want to. The indoor museum is informative, but it’s the outside part that’s really cool. Following the path you can see reconstructions of ancient indigenous huts and other small features. Grounds are cleanly kept. Unique recycled tire path is bouncy and fun, but you couldn’t take a wheelchair out on it so that sucks. Besides that, the only other negative is the cost for entry, it’s a little high in my opinion ($7 for adults, $6 for seniors and free for children under 5 I think.) Just think things like this should be on a sliding scale because not everyone has disposable income, but everyone deserves to go to a museum/historic site and learn.
Grizzly F — Google review
Excellent site to learn about early history of native inhabitants of Ohio. The museum has an excellent 11 minute movie on the history of the site. The representative village has outstanding signage. Small gift in the museum. Picnic tables available. Restrooms on site . Highly recommended .
Sharon M — Google review
A very interesting place. It is not exceptionally large. And took me less than an hour to go through, including reading everything in the gallery. But there is a lot of info here. And the history nerd in me loved it. There are a couple of huts built on the grounds that you can enter and markings/stakes throughout the village to show where things would have stood, and where the excavations took place. There is also a nice little gift shop and the staff member (I wish I could remember his name to give him credit) was very polite and answered all of my questions. Cool place if you like history and archaeology.
Kemp W — Google review
Small museum with outdoor viewing of Indian homes, vegetable garden. Nice walking path in the village. They have a small gift shop with t shirts, books, stuffed animals and more. Plans to spend about an hour and a half here or longer. They also have picnic tables under a pavilion.
Jackie W — Google review
Historical archeological museum today everyone can learn from. It's a great opportunity for a stay at home moms to bring their kids to have an educational experience. I would highly suggest this museum for home schoolers as well. Perhaps this location would team up with the Tourism Industry for group/corporate events.

Brewpub
Fifth Street Brewpub is a unique and cozy spot nestled in the historic St. Annes Hill neighborhood, housed in a renovated 1856 timber house. As Ohio's first co-op brewpub, it aims to foster community spirit through events like guest bartender nights that support local nonprofits. With a laid-back vibe and delicious scratch-made pub fare alongside their house brews, it's a great place to unwind with friends.
We went as part of the Dayton ale trail and I'm glad we did. We got some appetizers and several beers between ourselves. The food was really, particularly good. The soft pretzel was honestly the best soft pretzel I've ever had. My girlfriend and I compare all soft pretzels to this places soft pretzel. The beer was great, our server was cool and the location reminds me of a small town pub from the UK.
Matt M — Google review
Parking lot in the back, entered when it wasn't busy. Very friendly server, quick service, and a nice little place although their booth seat needs some TLC (it's all ripped and has a lot of tape). Had cheese curd, veggie burger and their Noel brew. For the brews, 5/5. I shared the large bottle eith fellow diner. Bottle was 18 I think. So not cheap, but high quality. This was not a typical Xmas ale - it's got a striking tart quality combined with a great xmas-type seasoning profile. I recommend it but not if you don't like a farmhouse-ale style. Cheese curds were the best I've ever had. They list that they use an Ohio cheese producer and they are amazing. The breading was great but the cheese itself was a star, being velvetey and soft as opposed to your typical balls o rubber. My burger and potatoes were alright. I'd say sverage on that - I do recommend being more liberal with the jalapenoes on the spicy burger. I do very much appreciate they subbed the meat burger for non-meat version. I think this matched the price. I really like this place. A small cooperative focused on making high-quality drinks and serving it in a very welcoming environment. I was very impressed.

Great little corner bar with great atmosphere and friendly people. Wish we could have stayed longer but had to keep on moving. Beer was very good and will definitely stop back in the future. Didn't eat, but the food that was being served looked tasty.
John K — Google review
My absolute favorite local brewery. The staff are all fun and kind. The food is always tasty, and they have a full bar so you can have a cocktail if you don’t love beer. The atmosphere is nice and inviting, and the patio is perfect when it’s warm outside.
Robin J — Google review
Came for brunch with friends. Two are regulars and members of their co-op. We had breakfast tacos and the chicken and waffles. All of it was fantastic. The chicken was incredibly different. There is so much flavor. I can easily say it was a good brunch, and you shouldn't hesitate to try it.
Joe S — Google review
Sometimes it can take a while to have service, and the beer is definitely lower on my list here in Dayton, but the food is excellent for the price (especially the burgers and fish fry), and everyone is wonderful! I love their nonprofit fundraising nights.
Adrian C — Google review
About 30 family and friends on the patio. Great experience. Wheelchair access. On or near site parking.
Steven W — Google review
The interior of Fifth Street Brewpub is nice and warm in atmosphere, but their patio looked great. I’d have tried sitting out there if it wasn’t so chilly when I visited. I tried three of their beers and was happy with all of them. There were no off flavors and the quality seemed consistently good. The customers seemed like a friendly group, and I’d definitely swing by again next time I’m in town.

Warped Wing Brewing Company is housed in a historic 1938 industrial building, once home to the Buckeye Iron and Brass Works. The brewery offers a diverse selection of beers, from the easy-drinking Trotwood Lager to the high-octane Whiskey Rebellion Bourbon Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout. Visitors can enjoy these award-winning beverages in the tasting room while taking in views of downtown Dayton. The taproom also serves snacks and sandwiches, providing a complete experience for beer enthusiasts.
What an awesome space?! Beer was fantastic... they were even brewing today! Food was terrific as well. See pics! Highly recommend.

Dayton Location The positive: Cool environment and great selection of beer/drinks The Negative: prices were pretty high. It was our first time here and we weren’t informed of the ordering process so we sat at our table for 10-15 minutes until we decided to go up to the bar and that’s when we found that you have to order at the bar and you also order your food at the window of the kitchen. Although I’m not a huge fan of that process, it would have been nice to know instead of just sitting there waiting for someone, while there were 4+ people just standing behind the bar. Food was decent but not worth the price in my opinion.

Went for dinner and drinks. The smoked wings were amazing! The Hoilday Special Lager was one of the best seasonal beers Ive had in awhile. The service was also amazing. A must try if you want a vast selection of beer and seltzers.

Warped Wing was a really nice brewery in downtown Dayton. The interior is expansive and industrial, and their brewing happens right there. The windows can open up during nice weather to allow for fresh air and a breeze. The staff was friendly, and they have a big selection of beers. I got several six packs to go and tried one of their beers at the brewery itself. Everything has been great, and I think Esther’s Li’l Secret Coconut Cream Milk Stout is probably my favorite. It’s sweet and creamy without being cloying or boozy. They do great stuff here.

Amazing! Service was great. Beer was great! Food was even better! The wings are so good you will slap yo momma! Herbert knows what he’s doing in the kitchen! Smashburgers were amazing as well! We were just visiting Dayton but we want to come back just for the beer and food here! Went to another brewery last night -beer was not as good and the food couldn’t even compare.

Stopped here on our way to Dayton yesterday and..omg. Obsessed. The food was incredible. Everything was fast and tasted delicious. Best sweet potato fries EVER, great house made ranch. Very generous brisket portion on the sandwich. Fresh, juicy chicken. The host didn’t seem super pleasant, but our server Megan made up for it. She was very nice and attentive. The place was very clean and stylish. Good amount of parking. Seriously wish we lived nearby.

I'm not sure how this place has the reputation it has. We have been to the Huber and downtown locations and both were mediocre. There are much better places for beer and food. The beer and the food are a 1.5/5 at best. Try some of the other breweries in the Dayton area for a better beer. The place is cool looking though.

This brewery is located in a cool old building downtown. We all ate food and had drinks—I was thrilled that they had cider on tap! The pretzel sticks and my cheese flatbread were great, while my husband had a couple beers and a chicken “nugg” salad. He also bought a tap handle. I think the only complaint I could offer is that the music was loud and made it hard to hear my companions, and the place wasn’t even crowded yet at about 5:30 on a Friday. I would definitely come here again, though!

Lovely place with lovely staff and delicious food. I always suggest going to eat here for lunch because the food is delicious, like many of the restaurants out in Oregon, but the price point is reasonable by comparison 💖 Also great for nightlife shows. Me and my girlfriend got together at this bar. I have lived, laughed, and loved at this bar, which has the most supportive bathroom graffiti in the world.

BEST FOOD IN THE OREGON DISTRICT! AJ is a genius in the kitchen! Bar staff is super chill but attentive. Always a welcoming vibe whether it's open mic or trivia night. Edit; to the owner, STRAIGHT FACTS! He really is!

A great bar with exceptional food and service. Been coming here for almost a decade now and it’s a gem that has only gotten better with time. Everything I’ve had from the menu has been amazing, but the pickle soup is out of this world. 10/10 get it every time. No visit is complete without it for me!

Would give 0 stars if I could. Bartender zero stars, unprofessional and no customer service skills! First and last time! I've heard good things about place but the staff was hands down the rudest I've ever experienced at any kind of bar or restaurant, across the board.

Came here tour managing a friend's band. The food was incredible, but what I want to speak most to is the impeccable treatment the band and crew got! Rarely are we treated this well by venues. If you have a chance to book here, DO IT!

The food, atmosphere, and people were great. We got pretzel sticks for an appetizer and they were so good. I got a fancy pants burger and my boyfriend got the big cheese. Also one of the servers gave a piece of cake from a birthday party from earlier in the day.

Seems like a great place to go see live shows! The venue is small, so you know the crowd knows who they're seeing or have some sort of knowledge about the performers. They have a decent amount of drink selections. I didn't get to try the food as we got there pretty late at night. I'm not sure if there are other places that play live music in the area but I do recommend this place for those who enjoy live music!

The Trolley Stop is a historic tavern that has been in operation since 1839, offering a unique and charming experience. With live music, a pool table, free books, an outdoor patio, and a party room, it provides various entertainment options. The eatery is renowned for its made-from-scratch food using locally sourced ingredients and fine dining cooking techniques. It's an ideal stop between weekend shopping or exploring Dayton's Oregon District with its classic interior and picturesque seasonal outdoor dining area.
If you’re looking for a causal, cozy brunch, this is your place! The brunch food is delicious & the mimosa/Bloody Mary bar is a fun experience. Brunch in the summer is my favorite: out on the private patio, with great food and a calm atmosphere. I’m there every weekend. The accommodations for food have been a game changer. It’s hard to find a bar that has gluten free and vegan options. I can always count on something that u can eat there. Lastly, always say yes to the Herbie Dip as a side. I look forward to it every time I go!
Kaitlin K — Google review
This spot felt more geared toward drinks than dining. The food menu was quite limited, and nothing particularly stood out, so we didn’t feel inclined to try much. We did order a couple of drinks, which were just okay — nothing memorable. The outdoor seating was pleasant and probably the best part of the experience. However, the food felt overpriced for the portion sizes and didn’t quite deliver on flavor or value. Service was mediocre. Our server forgot which drinks were for whom, so we had to figure it out ourselves once they arrived. Additionally, no plates or napkins were brought out with the food, and we had to request them after being served, which led to further delays. Overall, the experience didn’t live up to expectations, and I’m not sure it’s a place I would choose to revisit.

8/12/24 adding....Trolley Stop thank you for that information! 🙂 My friend, my mother and myself went there on August 9th to continue celebrating my 50th birthday from the day before. We had never been there before so I said I wanted to do a birthday lunch. The Trolley Stop was the place that I wanted to go. Parking was not horrible considering they had the Oregon district blocked off for the weekend. We came around 1:30 almost 2 o'clock, and it was not crowded at all. Our server was very courteous and made sure that everything was all right with our food. We all ended up getting salads and the salad was delicious! The only downside to going to the Trolley Stop (and they can correct me if I am wrong) But according to the words that was printed on the steps, the restrooms are upstairs, which is two flights of stairs. My mom has a walker so getting to the restroom would have been impossible for her. I don't know if they actually have a restroom downstairs but for anyone who has a walker or wheelchair...going to the restroom would probably be out of the question. But I could be wrong. The price of our salad was reasonable. It was a large salad and it was only $8. I would definitely visit again but not with my mom as she uses a walker.

I enjoyed my evening at The Trolley Stop. My husband's class reunion met there to hang out. When I walked in, there were people standing around socializing and having a nice time. I recently visited the Trolley Stop in Dayton and had a fantastic time there. Nestled in the vibrant Oregon District, this spot is a true gem with its inviting patio and eclectic vibe. I tried the "Patio Pounder" cocktail, a delightful rum-based drink that was absolutely refreshing—perfect for enjoying outdoors. Another highlight was the vegan queso and chips; it was deliciously flavorful and a great option for anyone looking for vegan-friendly fare. The Trolley Stop's atmosphere is laid-back and friendly, making it an ideal place to relax and unwind. The staff was welcoming and attentive, adding to the overall great experience. Whether you're in the mood for a unique cocktail or tasty vegan snacks, the Trolley Stop in Dayton is definitely worth a visit. The Patio Pounder and vegan queso come highly recommended from my visit!

Trolley Stop has a special place in my and my fiancee's heart -- it's one of the many places in which we fell in love. It's also where we got engaged! As it was special to us, I reserved the party area and the porch for the proposal and to have a party afterwards. The entire evening was perfect, and the crew that helped out was incredibly accommodating, happy to be flexible, and genuinely gracious throughout the whole process. I could not have picked a better, more beautiful place to do it and I couldn't have imagined any different place to have a party with all of my loved ones. Trolley Stop will always be special to us for so many reasons, but atop the list is how incredible the people behind the great bar/restaurant are!

We went a little before noon on a Friday hoping for brunch, but was told that only happens on Saturday mornings. So I ordered a cup of the potato soup with bacon and cheese. That was very good although for people who want something mild might find it a bit spicy. I also had a bowl of the Tex-Mex rice and beans. It was quite a large portion as I took home about half of it. My husband ordered the jalapeno pepper grilled cheese with jelly and a cup of chili and he liked both. I tasted the grilled cheese and I also liked that. He had a cup of beer and I had iced tea to drink. The service was excellent, very friendly. When we were there, people sat both inside and outside on the patio, which looked very nice. The whole restaurant is a lot larger than you would expect just seeing it from the front. Eighties music was playing in the background very quietly. It was not a distraction. We parked out on the street, however there is a parking area next door to the restaurant called Lucky's . We will return again, hopefully for brunch next time!

My wife and I came here and we had an INCREDIBLE experience!! The drinks were made wonderfully by Cheresse and Molly and they were so hospitable and engaging. If you happen to come in and they’re (wo)manning the bar, you’re in for an excellent drinking experience. Will 10000% come back!

We really enjoyed checking out The Century Bar. The cocktails were excellent, the bourbon selection was extensive, and we loved the vibe. The bartenders were friendly and helpful as well as very good with the cocktails!
Tod B — Google review
Much better after the mass exodus of the previous staff. Unless you were a regular or knew everything about bourbon you were not treated equally. Something happened and the entire staff quit, not sure what but the staff now is friendly and its more like the Century of the 90s. That's just my opinion . I will say the man that ran the bar and did tasting was very knowledgeable and nice. It was the rest of the staff that had an attitude.
Matthew S — Google review
Absolutely one of the worst bar experiences I’ve ever had. The bartenders were not just uninterested, but flat-out rude and condescending when I asked a couple of simple questions. Their attitude made it clear they were annoyed at having to do their job, which is shocking in a service industry role. The lack of basic courtesy, common sense, and professionalism was unbelievable. It’s no wonder this place is struggling—when the staff treats customers with such blatant disrespect, it ruins the entire atmosphere. Truly a disappointing and unpleasant experience, and I would never recommend this place to anyone. Edit to post- not only are staff extremely rude but this place is in a shady part of downtown. The previous time I was here there was a shooting across the street. Save your money and go somewhere else.

Located on Third Street in Dayton, Ohio, The Barrel House offers a cozy and comfortable atmosphere for craft beer enthusiasts. The taproom features couches and armchairs instead of traditional communal tables, creating a laid-back vibe akin to hanging out with friends in a comfy apartment. With a thoughtfully curated beer list, this small bar and bottle shop serves as a living room for local craft beer fans.
We absolutely love the barrel house. They’re conveniently located, have a great beer selection that changes often, and lots of canned beer options. They have regular weekly events. The best part is they’re so friendly, remember your name, and remember the beers you like. The last time we walked in, we were immediately offered two tasters of our most likely picks. ❤️❤️

Can be a little loud, but honestly, the people and vibes cleanly make up for it. Good beer, good energy, weekly karaoke, Wu-tang Wednesdays, I love the deco, some cushioned seating, some high top, some outdoor seating, and lovely people to talk to, I love the barrel house. It's one of my favorite tap houses in all of Dayton for just good energy. For our *sensory sensitive* friends, I would caution you guys as the sounds can get overwhelming as it's not as spacious as say Warped Wing, and can start to feel overwhelming. Would recommend wearing your loops Otherwise, can't recommend these lovelies at the Barrel House enough 🫶

Don’t know how I haven’t rated this place yet. There’s a reason why it was voted best place to grab a drink in Dayton. And why Matt was voted best bartender in Dayton for 3 years in a row. When you come here it feels like home. You will not find a better beer selection anywhere else in Dayton, possible even the Columbus of Cincinnati region. It can be loud inside and you may pay an arm and a leg between what’s on tap or what’s on the shelf, but these are dollars well spent when it comes to supporting the real ones who keep this place going. I wish every city had their own Barrel House

The Funny Bone Comedy Club in Dayton, Ohio is a popular destination for those seeking a night of laughter and entertainment. This hybrid venue offers a combination of comedy performances, delicious American cuisine including burgers and salads, and a well-stocked bar. With regular admission tickets priced affordably at $15, it's an accessible option for a fun night out. The club features a variety of stand-up styles from touring and local comics throughout the month.
Was a fantastic experience. Very limited close parking, there is a free parking garage kinda nearby though. The set up was awesome, the staff are good at keeping orders straight even without writing anything down which was super cool. Close seating to the stage. Menu was a QR code, prices to be expected. The funnel cake fry sundae was the best thing I’ve had in my life. Had a strawberry shortcake drink that was pretty good too! Handicap accessible. Would go back a lot more if it was closer!! Even just to get the funnel cake fry sundae !

We had a great time at the comedy show. I noticed that some pictures of the menu on Google are not up to date so I wanted to share this QR code for the menu, although I don't know how often it changes. People were seated from the front (close to stage)to the back (further from stage) in order to fill the room. If you are a set of two be prepared to sit with another set of two but as close as the chairs were it was more like sitting with 6 strangers. It wasn't a problem for us but we were seated with no one to our backs. We did not have to stand in the rain because the line started inside and up the stairs. Restrooms were also up the stairs. I recommend the parking garage close by because it cost nothing and it was a short walk to the Funny Bone. You can use Google maps in walking mode to find your way! Another thing to know is you must order 2 items off the menu and they charge an 18% gratuity. I think the cheapest item on the menu was $4 for a soda (Coke products) The show was a hit! I'm sure if you are going to see someone you like then you should have a good time. I'm sure it would be a great date night!

This was my 1st time here at the Dayton FunnyBone. It was nice, however the service was really slow. The show was almost over by the time we got our food. Just seemed like they may have been. Overwhelmed. The comedian was sooo funny! T Murph. Look forward to seeing him again.

Thank god they finally had a friendly greeter/host. I’m not sure if the angry black woman is gone or just wasn’t there tonight, but that was such a nice change. To actually have a friendly (dude..didn’t catch his name), who actually asked where you wanted to sit was Amazing! It’s still awkward to sit at a 4 top with 2 strangers (unless you have a group of 4), but until they re-arrange the seating, it’s the best you’re gonna get. Waitress (Kaylee) was great, and the comics are (almost) always hilarious! Food is hit and miss so might want to eat beforehand. Lots of good options nearby. 2 item minimum is pretty standard for comedy clubs these days and prices are what you would expect this day and age. Overall, solid experience and good to get out and see some comedy in a small/intimate venue. Cheers!

Seating was way too tight and the food was absolutely terrible you could tell it was rushed. We ordered chicken tenders and two orders of fries. The fries were so undercooked it was insane. And the breading on the chicken was soggy as hell. The prices are a little on the high end given the type of food the bring out so it’s definitely not worth it. I would eat before coming. The staff were really nice and the waiters and waitresses they did a great job. My review is mainly for the food and seating. I did get my order of fried comped which was appreciated. A lot of people there stated that their food was very undercooked.

Place is nice! They should get the workers to look more like they care about there appearance. They looked mess! They need more food options here. So over priced! I used like $100 for food when I went to see Gary Owen. My partner doesn't even drink!

The comedians were great, the service and management was terrible… we arrived at 5:30 so we had time to eat, we ordered food and drinks. The plan was for the whole table to share appetizers, we waited and waited, everyone around us got the food finally after the lights went down our food arrived. We had ordered loaded fries, we got plain fries so I told the waitress she was like “ oh you’re right” I just said no big deal plain fries are fine. I go to eat a fry it’s completely uncooked. So I go out to the bar to talk with the manager, tell her my issues show her the fries and she agreed they were not cooked, I just requested for them to be removed from my bill because I didn’t want them, I go sit down about 5 minutes later the waitress came to my table and said since my tab was “comped” she needed to take back the whole tables food and drinks. I had only asked for the fries that only one was eaten to be removed now my whole table while they were still eating had to had over their food and drinks. The waitress said if we wanted anything she would need to talk to the manager for us to get anymore food or drinks. I will never return to this location. We left the show early because we were so taken back at the manager disrespect and went somewhere else’s for our dinner.

Subject line: Request for Full Refund Due to Unsatisfactory Service at Dayton Funny Bone Dear Funny Bone Management, I am writing to express my disappointment with the recent experience I had at your Dayton location, following many enjoyable visits to all three Funny Bone venues. Unfortunately, my latest visit during the Gary Owen show was marred by poor service that significantly affected my evening. I have been a loyal customer, frequently attending shows and appreciating both the national and local comedians. However, my last three visits to the Dayton Funny Bone have been problematic in terms of order accuracy and timely service. On one occasion, I was billed for food I never received, which was refunded. Another time, my food arrived too late during the show, so I was refunded while still receiving my order. Despite these issues, I remained understanding because I enjoyed the live comedy experience. During the recent Gary Owen show, despite arriving early and sitting near the stage, my party and I never received the drinks we ordered. Our waitress initially took the order for sodas with cherry but only brought coffee creamer for others at the table and then failed to return with our drinks for over 30 minutes. When the drinks finally arrived, the waitress showed a dismissive attitude, and when I inquired about ordering food, I was told it was last call and the kitchen was closed. I was then informed of a two-item minimum requirement or a showroom charge, even though poor service prevented me from ordering properly. The interaction with our waitress, Alana F., and a staff member named Beto was unpleasant and frustrating. I was asked repeatedly to settle the bill before the show ended, disrupting my ability to enjoy the performance I paid $65 per person to see. This led to a public and embarrassing confrontation in front of other guests. Thankfully, a manager named Janelle later intervened and adjusted the bill, but I still feel the experience was unacceptable and not representative of the Funny Bone brand, especially compared to the consistently better service I receive at your Columbus and Cincinnati locations. Given the significant disruption, poor customer service, and the fact that I missed the end of the show, I am requesting a full refund for the night’s experience. I live only 15 minutes from the Dayton Funny Bone and had hoped to continue supporting this location, but this incident has left me deeply disappointed. I also plan to dispute the charge with my credit card due to the unsatisfactory service. I appreciate your attention to this matter and look forward to your prompt response addressing my request for a full refund. Sincerely, [Your Brittany Ryle Name]

Fabulous local cinema. The staff are super friendly, the snacks are great, and everything is a fabulous price. they always have a great mix of shows, blockbusters but also hidden gems and special events. Love the neon. Perfect spot to see awe inspiring films unavailable on streaming. Our favorite experience was attending the Hundreds of Beavers screening. We had an unforgettable time interacting with the cast, grabbing selfies, q and a session, and went home with a large signed poster. Popcorn is delicious and reasonably priced. We typically grab a large popcorn and large soda to share.

Very cute small theater conveniently located close to the Oregon district. I was there for almost two hours and although the seats aren’t the new larger style they were comfortable. They have a small selection of food and also sell cocktails and beer, but the counter area is tight and they really only have room for one employee serving so it’s a little slow. The lobby is very small so I suggest arriving early to avoid being cramped in that space. Overall it’s a good experience for the price.

The was my first time at the Neon and I had an absolute blast. One of the things I love the most is the ability to buy drinks and snacks at a fraction of the price of a regular movie theatre. Nestled in the heart of Dayton, Tender Mercy is a cocktail bar that beautifully blends elements of grunge and glamour, creating an inviting yet edgy atmosphere. This underground gem offers a unique experience with its expertly crafted cocktails and delectable sushi options. The ambiance is perfect for those looking to unwind after enjoying a meal at nearby Sueno, where locally sourced ingredients shine in their Mexican-inspired dishes.
A very cool spot tucked underneath Dayton. They have “kegged cocktails”—the three we tried were very good. The most stunning thing about this place is the atmosphere, art, and design.

The atmosphere is amazing. I love the vibe. I wasn’t the biggest fan of the drinks but I’m not crazy on fancy ingredients and what not. That is just a personal choice. However, this is a great, swanky bar that is perfect for a date night!

Tender Mercy, which is located on E 3rd Street in Dayton, OH, is a fantastic speakeasy-esque cocktail bar in the downtown area! :-) Per their website, "A true midwest destination cocktail bar in downtown Dayton, Ohio. Tender Mercy is not your typical cocktail bar - we celebrate individualism and a classic avant garde sensibility." I recently visited for the first time with my boyfriend, and we had the best time!! First, the staff are so kind & attentive when you visit. We sat at the bar, and the bartenders took amazing care of us. In addition, their cocktails are so wonderful! Their signature cocktail, Teach the Crows to Smoke, is excellent - it's fruity with a little smoke to it! Of note, their signatures are all available on tap behind the bar, which I thought was so unique & cool for this type of space. Lastly, Tender Mercy's atmosphere is awesome. It's so intimate + romantic, which makes it the perfect space for a date night. I'm really looking forward to returning here - thank you, TM, for the hospitality!

Pricey, but totally worth it in my opinion. Phenominal meal when we went (it changes monthly!) with excellent sake pairings. The menu has: - One 4-course meal for $75, with optional wine or sake pairings for an additional $50. - Four chef specials, a la carte, prices vary. - A drink list. ...and that's it! Changes monthly.

I have been to Tender Mercy several times and today I was compelled to write a review! The staff here are AMAZING and work very hard to ensure your experience is nothing but positive! The bartenders are THEE most knowledgeable I have personally interacted with. Every time I've gone I have asked the bartender to make me one of their inventions and not a single one has been disappointing. I felt froggy one evening and ordered an Absinthe to observe its preparation. The most authenticly served Absinthe I have ever had. (I went straight to the moon! LOL!) I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Tender Mercy for a nice evening with a date, or friends! NOTE: Have yet to eat at Dozo, or from their menu. Also, these pictures are from awhile ago. 😉

Hands down love this place. The vibe is so nice in here. Friendly staff and good drinks. The clarified milk punch is my absolute favorite I get it every time. Been wanting to try to sushi spot in the back. But I come here often just for the mild punch

Ned Peppers Bar is a lively tavern in Dayton that offers a vibrant atmosphere with tap beer, DJs, and a dance floor. Despite its unassuming name, it's a popular spot in the party scene. The bar has a mix of dive bar ambiance and an energetic dance floor with diverse music ranging from hip-hop to electronic. During the day, it has a chill vibe and offers an awesome happy hour from 11 am to 7 pm.
Emma and Katelin are the funniest hottest most beautiful bartenders I’ve ever had in my life. Not to mention they threw in a little bit of flair to our drinks. 12/10 experience

Ned’s is a fun friendly environment. I stop in every time I’m in the area. Staff is great especially the bartender Donna. She is super sweet, and makes drinks quickly and good!
Reanna G — Google review
This bar is one of the worst places I’ve ever been to. The security staff are completely unprofessional and act in a very disturbing way. They will stare at you, and if they decide they don’t like you—even if you’ve done nothing wrong—they will throw you out. I’ve seen them get aggressive with people for no reason at all, to the point where it looked dangerous. This is not a safe place, and it’s definitely not somewhere I’d recommend to anyone. Whoever owns this place seriously needs to fix the way their security operates, because the way things are going, it’s only a matter of time before the authorities step in .

Ally is a terrific bartender. She was serving on the patio Saturday night when I was there. Not only does she pay attention to everyone checking to see if they need anything but she is gorgeous while doing it.

Walked in with a group of 4. All 4 grabbed drinks and walked over to the corn hole board and waited our turn. We were almost done with one game and the hall monitor-like bouncer who was about 5’ 3” told us we had to stop our game for an event they were having. We were minutes away from finishing but he would not budge on his decision and threatened to kick us out. So we quit our game and left. An hour later we walked by and it contained the same 7 people inside that were there when he said we had to stop aging because of an “event” that was going to go on. Kind of wild. I am not out anything since we just left but I am curious what the owner of a place like this would say about that lol

Ned-peppers is always a good time. Whether it’s packed or a slower night, the vibe is just right, great music, strong drinks and Emma always takes care of you. It’s one of those spots you can count on for fun no matter what night you go. Definitely one of my go-to bars.

i usually have an amazing time here. ever since i turned 21 ive been coming here almost every friday and saturday, but tonight was different. i was enjoying time with my friends a little after 1am, (i was dd so i was just having water) when my friend, who hadn’t been there in almost a year, didn’t know which door the exit was, attempted to go out of the door in the back patio. i grabbed her while still having my entire body inside, and pulled her back. where she was then pushed back out and i was grabbed by both of my shoulders and asked “are you drunk?? you can’t come in this way” i proceeded to tell him no, i was the driver for the night, and my friend went out the wrong door so i pulled her back in, and he said we needed to BOTH go to the front and shoved me out. multiple people saw that we had came from inside. i don’t know where this “security guard” was or what he was doing to be able to not see me clearly by the door from the INSIDE… or to stop my friend from going out the wrong one? but clearly you need to find more help if he is going to put his hands on women who have done nothing wrong and almost kick them out for something they didn’t do because he wasn’t paying attention. he didn’t even apologize for not listening to what i explained to him at first. if it weren’t for the awesome people around us, we would have been thrown out for no reason being accused of “opening the door and coming in”. i’m super disappointed that ned’s had someone like that working for them because every time i come it has been nothing but positive experiences.

The Stage Door is a popular spot in downtown Dayton, known for its vibrant live music scene and intimate atmosphere. It's a haven for music lovers, where local bands and DJs showcase their talent, creating a sense of unity among the crowd. The bar offers reasonably priced drinks and has friendly bartenders, making it a welcoming place to hang out with friends. Recently revitalized, it has become a hotspot for social activity and entertainment, drawing crowds back with lively shows and dancing.
Eric took care of my wife & I tonight & did an amazing job! The espresso martini was delicious & the service was outstanding. Love the vibes & will definitely be back ♥️
Rylee B — Google review
This is the “oldest gay bar in Ohio” but you wouldn’t know that it’s even an occupied business by the sorry state of their building’s exterior appearance. The windows above the entrance are broken and boarded up. The green concrete planters they have out front are full of weeds, beer cans and cigarette butts. Please invest in your business and in the health and wellbeing of the downtown Dayton community. Simply buying some flowers for your planters would go a LONG way into making this look like a welcoming and thriving establishment. It looks like you don’t care about the LGBT community or the Dayton community because your building is an embarrassment and unfortunately an eyesore. Let’s get this turned around with some beautification!

Stage door is back on the map! Had a blast celebrating Dayton Pride and seeing the place packed with shows, dancing and social activity! Looking forward to seeing them tune in their entertainment and bar needs to tend to the crowds as they grow back to popularity! Drinks are heavy on the pours and easy on the wallet. If you havnt been here since 2020, do yourself a favor and head back! DJ Alvarez has really added life into the side room with lights, dancing and the best Kareoke in down!

I was here this past weekend and not a good time! Took them over 10 minutes to even ask me what I wanted to drink! The tall bartender with the dark hair, I think his name is Dustin?! pours drinks really heavy. I know some may find this nice since they get more alcohol for the same price. But you order a cocktail and the only flavor it has is vodka? If I wanted a plain old shot I would have asked for one! He also rubs me the wrong way. I’ve seen him talk to other customers and he is extremely rude! He’s fake, two-faced and will just say anything you want to hear so he can get more tips out of you! Sorry but that’s not the kind of bartender I want to be pouring my drinks.

The National Museum of the US Air Force, located at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base near Dayton, Ohio, is a sprawling aviation museum that first opened in 1923. It boasts an impressive collection of about 360 aircraft and weaponry, making it the largest military aviation museum globally. The museum offers various attractions such as flight simulators, a 3D theater, and war-themed exhibits.
Really enjoyed this museum! It’s free to go in and there is some awesome stuff for a free exhibit. Pretty much the entire history of the USAF with few exceptions from what I understand distributed across four different hangars. I’d heavily recommend both the Cold War and the R & D sections if you get a chance as those are the most interesting parts I found! Also they have flight simulators with full roll and a good amount of pitch that feels awesome! Great for families or just to stop in if you’re in town!

Absolutely incredible experience. A museum like no other I've ever been to before in my life. I was super stoked to see the SR-71 and the Air Force one plane that JFK used. What an experience and I wouldn't change a thing. The main key is being able to interact with so many of the aircraft and my little guy loved being able to climb into cockpit and pretend he was a fighter pilot. The missile silo was huuuuge and nothing like I've ever seen before. The staff and volunteers were very nice and interactive as well. We were able to come on a random week day when it wasn't busy so we were able to enjoy ourselves without huge crowds. We will definitely be back!!
Scott J — Google review
Great air and history museum! You could easily spend an entire day here. Great historical explanations surrounding the exhibits and very organized. We've been there several times with the kids through the years and always had a great time. Most recently, my daughter and I visited during a "plane talk" event and were able to meet several retired members of the flight crew of different aircraft. Highly recommend!
Stacy F — Google review
Aviation history at its finest—absolutely world-class. This museum is a national treasure. From the Wright brothers to stealth bombers, the scale and depth of the exhibits are staggering. Four massive hangars packed with legendary aircraft, including the X-15, SR-71, and the B-29 that dropped the second atomic bomb. You can even walk through presidential planes like the one Lyndon Johnson was sworn in on. One of the most compelling exhibits is the story of “Flying the Hump”—the daring WWII airlift over the Himalayas to resupply Chinese forces after the Japanese cut off the Burma Road. Pilots flew from India to China through brutal weather, 18,000-foot altitudes, and zero navigation aids. It was dubbed the “Skyway to Hell”, and rightly so: over 500 aircraft were lost, and more than 1,300 crew members perished. Yet this mission was vital to keeping China in the fight and ultimately helped turn the tide in the Pacific Theater. The layout is intuitive, the signage is clear, and the staff—many of them veterans—are incredibly knowledgeable and passionate. Best part? Admission is free. You could easily spend a full day here (or several) and still not see everything. Whether you're an aerospace engineer, a military buff, or just curious about flight, this place will leave you inspired. One of the best museums in the country, hands down.
Jacques L — Google review
Amazing place to visit and see the history of our great Air Force. Truly a once in a lifetime experience. Went here on a brother’s trip and we learned a lot and enjoyed it very much. Took us about 5 hours to see everything and we were rushing towards the end because it was close to closing time. Would recommend it for anybody and everybody. Take pride in our country and the military members who make it happen. God bless the USA!
Aaron J — Google review
If you are a military aircraft enthusiast, or a war historian, this has got to be one of the most amazing museums in the world. And has everything from the wright brothers early aircraft contracts with with the army, through modern stealth aircraft and missile technology... And it's totally free admission! I spent over 4 hours there and felt like I could have been there for another full day just reading placards and listening to tour information. Absolute must do if this overlaps with your personal interests.
Brian T — Google review
So glad we took the time to visit this place. It costs nothing to go in, and there's so much to see and do. My toddler had a great time getting to see everything. They also have several planes you get to go inside of or sit in the cockpit of. There are also several interactive exhibits that are great for kids. Overall, it's an amazing display of an important part of history, while also preserving it all exceptionally well.

Carillon Brewing Company is a unique brewery located in Dayton, Ohio, on the grounds of Carillon Historical Park. The brewery is owned by the non-profit organization Dayton History and is known for its historical approach to beer production. The staff at Carillon Brewing Company dress in period costumes, adding to the immersive experience. The brewery uses equipment and techniques from the 1850s, with a visible wood-fired brewing system for public viewing.
It is very rare for me to go to a place with such high expectations and for the expectations to not only be met, but to be far exceeded. It’s hard to pick the best quality of this place. The location and atmosphere are wonderful, the craft beer on offer is both surprising and delicious, and the barbecue was simply out of this world! There really wasn’t a thing about my visit that I look back in and honestly, I think the best part about our visit was Eric and Delia. They were simply the best! I cannot wait to come back and try the rest of their mouthwatering menu! Do yourselves a favor and don’t sleep on Carillon Brewing Company and Dayton BBQ Company! They really are that good! P.S. I also ordered the Frontiersman Feast with pulled pork, brisket, and smoked chicken, and it was so delicious and beautiful, that I forgot to take a picture.

Your stomach will scream once you walk in as the smell of smoke and bbq hits your nose. This is a large two story building with plenty of space for everyone. The decor is that of an old Alehouse with an open brick fire smoking up the goodness. The workers are dressed in late 18th century period clothing to add to the atmosphere. I started with a Cream Ale [Pre-Prohibition Ale] with an ABV of 4.4. Very clean finish with an ever so very slight bite. I went with their Cattleman’s Dog with a side of their award winning Alehouse Mac & Cheese. They have 3 BBQ sauces; Regular, Spicy and Carolina Mustard. These are on the runny side, so be careful when using them. The Mac & Cheese was thick and I added some of the spice BBQ to kick it up a notch. Not sure if award winning to my taste buds as it seemed bland. The dog was heavy with all the extras and messy as heck. Oh what funtimes ahead with messy hands. I added the regular BBQ as well to the hot dog. The hot dog could have been a bit hotter and I think frying it would make the experience more enjoyable. Otherwise, the hot dog was a good pick. With a tip, it was $29 for me. I left with that wonderful smokey smell too, so I had to change when I got home. Even one of the waiters mentioned that there should be an outlet for the smoke to go outside.
Daniel G — Google review
The service was very good. The food was okay, however, the macaroni and cheese was stiff and bland, the collard greens were a bit tart. Probably too much vinegar. Since we were a large group we had a limited menu. The pulled pork portal was very good. I can't leave out the jalapeno skillet cornbread. I didn't think that I'd like it but it was very good. I'm picky about jalapenos, so I picked them out. The cornbread was sweet and buttery. Very tasty. I definitely would order that again. It appeared that our group enjoyed most of the food and will come again.
Estella C — Google review
I thought the food was pretty good. I wish they labeled items if they are gluten-free. The atmosphere is great. The patio is nice and we watched the train go by. The inside area is cool but has a strong smoky smell if you are sensitive to certain scents. Definitely a Dayton staple!
Shelby A — Google review
Let’s start with the Corn bread. It looked and tasted stale. I put my fork in it and it crumbled up. The brisket was smokeless, more like oven cooked (the restaurant was smoker than the meat), thankful the bar-b-cue sauce it helped with that. The green beans were bland, straight out of a can… (you can add your own seasoning I guess, which I ended up doing), the macaroni was a bit too salty but the most edible, the ginger ale was nasty (I can’t even describe the flavor or lack thereof). The greens tasted just like glory greens (I ate enough of glory greens in my day to know it from anywhere) Correct me if I’m wrong Carillon Brewing). I hope it was just an off day for the chef because for this to be the first experience I was not happy. If I could have returned my food I would have. Please tell me this was not the norm for this establishment. I would hate to try again… never mind. I will not be trying this place again.

Dayton Art Institute Review The Dayton Art Institute is a hidden gem in Ohio, blending rich history with a surprisingly diverse collection of art. Housed in a stunning Italian Renaissance-style building overlooking the Miami River, the museum offers an experience that feels both intimate and inspiring. I had the pleasure of shooting a wedding here this past spring, and I can't recommend the Dayton Museum of Art enough for couples planning their big day. The architecture is simply breathtaking and the art is stunning—it's like photographing inside a masterpiece. What makes it exceptional for wedding photography: The clean lines and neutral palette mean your wedding colors pop beautifully without competing with busy décor. The marble floors create gorgeous reflections during first dances, the sculpture garden is perfect for intimate portraits, and that grand staircase? Made for dramatic couple shots. As a Dayton wedding photographer at Melchy Hill Photography, this venue makes my job a joy. Your photos won't just capture memories—they'll look like they belong in a gallery. If you're booking the Dayton Museum of Art for your wedding, I'd love to help you capture your story in this stunning space.

First time coming to the Schuster Center to watch Hamilton Broadway play. It was a fun experience, and the building was nice. Hamilton play was entertaining, and I would recommend seeing it! The only complaint I would have is the seating. Seats started to get uncomfortable, and there wasn't a lot of leg room. Everyone was packed in there tightly with not. much room to switch positions or stretch.

A small compared to a lot of other theaters. However, seating is great and from Columbus we drive down because we can get better seats at the lower price and we can get free parking on the street because it's really nothing else in Dayton. It's really not a bad seat in the place. They're comfortable. They're not crunched in what your knees are smashed. The service staff is very polite. Very helpful. Will talk to you. Have fun, great conversation and everything so it's a nice place to go to. Sound is great. The systems are great on it. Everything is good.

Not sure which was better; the food or Mark the waiter! We left our entire order up to him, and we were not disappointed! (Not to mention he was also incredibly charming and lovely!). We had the ceviche to start, which was flavourful and refreshing. For our main, we had the lamb shank with cheesy risotto (Mark suggested that change), which was delicious. Just came off the bone and was incredibly flavourful. I have to say that the food was fantastic overall, to the point that we considered staying longer in Dayton the next day and going back!

Salar is one of the best restaurants I have eaten at. Food is delicious and drinks are well crafted. Each dish was so flavorful and my group wnjoyed everything that was ordered. I went with a work dinner and we collectively got lamb chops, steak with fries, calamari, ceasar salad, empanadas, and specialty drinks. The smoky whiskey drinks were a fan favorite and presentation was excellent by the server. The only dish that was sub par was the dessert item that was described as a fluffy pastry with cinnamon and ice cream that ended up tasting like a poptart. 5/5 stars I will return but it is pricey.
Maxwell G — Google review
Incredible. When spending money at a fine dining establishment, you should expect expertly prepared food and cocktails. At Salar, you get this level of perfection, and then some! Starting off with a cocktail or three, (the whiskey smash was excellent followed by a couple old fashioneds - they do not skimp on the alcohol) let me just say WOW! Something I've never seen is the menu offering that if you can't find a cocktail that suits you, tell the bartender the taste you're looking for.... and they'll create one for you! The presentation of the charred Ceasar salad defines fine dining while the salad, itself, provided unique tastes that were...WOW! The main course was the double pork chop. Cooked to perfection, the spices tickled my taste buds and really brought out the flavor of the chop without overpowering it. The mashed potatoes and leeks were delicious! WOW! Dessert was a butterscotch mouse that I shared with my wife. My only mistake was not ordering my own! WOW! Service was top-notch! I literally enjoyed every bite and sip!

Went with a lot of the recommendations from other reviews and they did not dissappoint! Scallops parmesan, manchego and ham croquettes, pork chop(!), lamb, short ribs, and more were amazing! One of the few spots open on a Sunday eve in town. Beautiful and large space; our server was awesome and helped fill the gap on desserts and cocktails.
Ryandolin91 — Google review
Genuinely one of the best meals I think I've ever had!! The restaurant also has a really nice atmosphere. Very friendly staff, and while it is pricey, it doesn't feel uptight. Will be going back when possible. Awesome cocktails, scallops, and desserts. Try the flour less chocolate cake🤤🤤

Absolutely LOVED this place. There are few times when I’m able to say that everything I had tasted at an establishment is 10/10. Well, this is 10/10. I recommend this place a million times and more. Keep doing what you’re doing, Salar. No notes!

The Dayton region is known as the birthplace of aviation and home to the Wright brothers. This national park includes landmarks associated with aviation history, including the Wright-Dunbar Interpretive Center and Aviation Trail Visitor's Center.
Great museum. Free. Lots of little exhibits to entertain the kids. Enjoyed the guided tour of the bike shop- very informative. I thought it was mostly an aviation museum, so the exhibits about Dunbar and about parachutes were a cool bonus. Def worth a visit to the area. Had to include a pic of the upstairs bathroom because they had a giant all-person changing table- something I have often hoped to find with my special needs kid. Didn’t have to use it this time, but thank you to this site for installing this feature.

We really enjoyed the exhibits here. Some hands on moments for the kids. Great information on the Wright brothers journey. The bike shop across the street was definitely a highlight.

This is a wonderful place to visit with children. They can explore the early days of aviation and learn how it all began in an engaging and educational way.

A nice museum that pays homage to the men who were first in flight. I had read the David McCullough book which greatly helped to inform the museum experience. While I enjoyed the visit, I feel like it’s somewhat lacking. I’m not sure what’s missing but I kind of expected more.

Great place in a not so great part of town Lots to see not a very big parking lot have to go on a guided tour in order see the cycle shop. The ranger lead tour guide was not a fan of henry Ford or the state of Michigan. Nice press area home to the parachute history museum as well. Cool jr ranger badges

Very nice museum about the history of aviation. No wonder it's on UNESCO world heritage site tentative list. Must visit Spot.

This is an amazing aviation museum moving one through the eras of beginning of aviation through to the current. There are so many aviation craft in this museum, one will never see every one in only one trip.

As a lover of both American history and aviation, this is a great place to spend time learning about the Wright brothers and their amazing contributions to the history of flight. Fascinating exhibits, friendly rangers. Highly recommended.

Cocktail bar
Lily's Dayton is a vibrant and inviting eatery and drinkery nestled in the heart of the Oregon District in Dayton, Ohio. The menu, curated by Executive Chef Don Warfe, features a fusion of American Southern favorites like fried chicken and shrimp & grits with Polynesian and tropical flavors such as bao buns, pork belly ramen, and bahn mi sandwiches.
This local joint is a great find. We went for brunch and wow was it fantastic. The atmosphere is cozy and cute. The cocktails were tasty. We stated with the deviled egg special which was a curry mix. Amazing! Then we split a hangover bowl with Cajun sausage and white gravy. We topped off our meal with the beignets. We will be back!!

I was an amazing little restaurant in Dayton downtown. The whole decor ambience was really cool. Really loved it. The service was super quick limited menu amazing food. We ordered deviled eggs, breakfast burrito, veggie and mushroom veggie burger along with coffee. Everything was made to perfection the fries that came with the burrito and the burger were too salty, but other than that, everything was really good. The whole decor was amazing. especially in dining area restroom bar area everywhere. Everything was super clean. I recommend this place if you’re in the Dayton, Ohio area.

My wife and I stopped here this past Saturday night after seeing a show at the Victoria Theatre. Food was excellent and our waitress was fantastic. At the end of the meal our waitress came over to check on us and told us she was going to give us a complimentary dessert. She thought the fried chicken was a little too done and the portion of the macaroni and cheese was smaller than usual (we didn't notice either but it was the end of the night). We thought the Mac and cheese was fantastic. The dessert was great as well.

Great restaurant with vegetarian and vegan options! The staff is amazing and friendly, and the style of restaurant inside is delightfully colorful and unique. Their menu is diverse and varied. They have an extensive alcohol and cocktail menu. All in all, a great experience, and I will definitely be back!

I don’t review on here unless something is great or terrible, and Lily’s is firmly in the first category. I’ve visited since they opened and felt it was a great brunch spot, but the menu was a bit static for date night dinner. I’m happy to say, they’ve knocked it out of the park with their new menu and Tiki Bar theme. Cocktails were well-crafted and deserving of the price point, food was excellent and the portions were incredible! Best of all was the service. I’ve always enjoyed the waitstaff at Lily’s, but the team they have now truly love their jobs and their customers, and it shows! They collectively serve the customers as a team and work very cohesively. The result was prompt service and getting to interact with multiple wonderful humans. 10/10 will be back again soon!

Found this place a few months back while visiting Dayton, I've been trying to get back to lily's since I left. The food the atmosphere is awesome. The chicken & waffle sandwich with the spicy syrup is amazing the potatoes are cooked just right. I came all the way from TN, when I'm in town I try to dine at lily's couple times while there, Mimosa were a hit as well.
Devonda W — Google review
One of my friends brought us here today and told us it’s a really good brunch spot. Ambiance is dope! Definitely a vibe here and relaxing space. Service is also great and the staff are friendly. Food is spot on! Was craving for egg’s benedict and got their spam benedict with pineapple as an add on. Nice flavors, well-balanced dish! Also their smashed potatoes are the best! 🔥Like the best! Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. A must-try side dish. Just couldn’t finish all of it cause it was a lot for me. Rated 4 stars for food cause the poached egg is a little overcooked. Asked for runny but when I cut through it, it didn’t really spread out. Beignet is also good, better with their jam but kinda deflated halfway, a bit dry, not as soft but maybe because I’m used to Disneyland’s Beignets. Also it was overly coated with powdered sugar. Like there’s a thick layer of it so I had to dust most of it off. My family ordered Chorizo Burrito, Cajun Hangover Bowl and Steak Omelet and have no complains with their food either. Recommend to make a reservation. We got there at opening so we were able to sit right away but 1-1.5 hours later the restaurant was almost full. Overall a nice brunch spot!! Will come back if we stop by again at Dayton 😊

Was one of our go to spots in the Oregon district. Will think twice after today's experience. Went in a little over an hour before close. The overwhelming majority of tables empty obviously no wait. Was seated outside as we asked. One other table out of 10-12 was occupied. I placed my hat on the empty table behind me. The server came over, asked if it was mine, my wife replied that I placed it there because of space. He then grabbed the hat and placed it on my table with a backhanded comment about how that table was "clean" and insinuated my had was making the table unclean. We promptly left, however as I turned around, although set, the table was FAR from clean as there was coffee spilled and dried on it. Will definitely consider this the next time we head that way.

While visiting Dayton Ohio we stopped here to stretch our legs and it was just beautiful. The swings over looking the river are great, the walkway is nice and the statues and garden well maintained. Would recommend stopping here if you visit Dayton.

Can be unsafe at night or have homeless drug people during the day. but it’s nice because you can get coffee or a meal near by then walk this area afterwards. Beautiful. During summer they turn on the hourly fountains that are big. Some people fish, bike or kayak here.

I visited RiverScape MetroPark in downtown Dayton on a cloudy Sunday this fall, and what began as a short stroll turned into a memorable moment of calm and connection with nature. The park’s well-kept gardens and simple, elegant landscaping immediately set a tranquil tone. Despite the overcast skies, I found beauty in the setting: leaves turning, gentle light, and clean lines of pathways along the water. The wide, smooth trails provided plenty of space for walkers, cyclists, runners and yes, local dog-owners happily strolling their pets. It felt very inclusive and relaxed. The park runs right along the flow of the Great Miami River and the Mad River, giving a lovely sense of being both in the heart of the city and connected to its natural waterways. Though I didn’t have time to explore much of Dayton itself, spending time here made me feel like I already captured a piece of its spirit, a mix of urban energy and riverside calm. If you visit Dayton and want a brief but meaningful stop in the downtown core, this park is an unmissable one.

Stopped in for breakfast with some friends after a soccer match. Despite showing up at 10am, the wait for an 8 person table wasn't too bad at all. Our server immediately greeted us and took our drink orders. Our food arrived quickly and as ordered, which is always great to see. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals and left with full stomachs. Portion sizes were perfect. We'll be sure to make a return trip in the near future. I highly suggest eating here!!

Was hesitant to try this place from the outside look of the building and its location, however, it had more good reviews than compared to a high-end place that was triple the price. Decided to give it a try. Location isn’t the worst but could be better, inside appeared to not be updated in decades, but wasn’t dilapidated. Decor was various antique memorabilia. The menu consisted of breakfast to dinner meals and the highest price was under $15. Very reasonable pricing on all items and all home cooked foods. Service was excellent and the food was quite good. Very good portion size, tasty, and great value!

Fun place with a '50's atmosphere. Service is never bad, and often it's outstanding. Menu is all basic American diet--sort of along the lines of an old-fashioned diner, if you went to one when you were a kid. Don't go there if you're looking for health conscious, but for a really fun, reasonably priced meal, it's exactly what you're looking for. Breakfast is served all day, and the breakfasts are fabulous. Biscuits and gravy are are particularly good. I'll often get a half order of biscuits and gravy with whatever else I order, and I almost feel up just on that. The sandwiches-- and really pretty much everything else--are good-to-wonderful. The one thing you've GOT to try is the fried fish. It is out-of-this-world delicious every single time I've gotten it. And every Friday there's an all you can eat fried fish special. Go try it out!

Breakfast is usually very good. Prices cheaper than other places. Not sure what to say about the lunch items. Ordered a bacon burger, got a cheeseburger, no bacon. Decorations are neat, fun to look at everything. I would say it’s better to eat there in person rather than pickup/carryout.

Amazing Vibe and unusually broad and delicious craft beer selection - I am from near Chicago and visiting Dayton. Had lived in Chicago for almost 20 years and went to many breweries over many years. Toxic Brew is, hands down, the best and most interesting Brewery I have been to. Had 4 different 3 oz pours. Each made on site. My fave was a Coconut stout. 2nd fave was a Pepper infused stout. One of the best parks to visit. Took my kids to see the trolls and they were absolutely breathtaking. My kids enjoyed it and even though we didn't have time to do everything we will definitely be coming back. The trails are pretty easy to walk and not very long distances to get to the trolls. It's definitely worth checking out if you are in the area. The gift shop has the cutest things and there is just so much to explore you can make a day out of it!

Had so much fun! Walking on the trails and boardwalks with beautiful creeks full of frogs and tadpoles for the kids to catch. Looking for the native birds, bugs and butterflies. The woods are lush and at times mysterious. Nature at its finest. Then you see the little fairy houses that litter the trails. The thrill of the hunt. Then comes the Trolls! Read the stories a long the way as you search. They are so big but they love hugs and encourage it. Then visit the farm, see the animals and learn about life on a working farm. On the way out stop at the nature center and gift shop. Great place to go.

A beautifully crafted trail. Easy walking path and well marked. The trolls made of recycled materials are amazing. The little Faerie Land miniatures are just fun! This is worth the trip. The Trolls are amazing. Thr fairy house are so detailed. The hike wasn't difficult. To get to the trolls It was calming and peaceful, Even on a Friday. We took the dogs and packed a lunch and ate at the farm. We found out later, that if you buy the tickets online it is cheaper.

What a beautiful spot! Educational, LOTS of turtles, farm animals for feeding / petting, beautiful nature trails parallel to babbling brooks. We were with two limited mobility individuals who felt the path was longer than they were comfortable with but navigable and we were easily able to send two mobile members of our crew back to move the cars from the Discovery center to the farm to resolve their fatigue. The trolls were AWESOME and an absolute draw to the nature center BUT it was A LOT of walking to see all three (they aren't accurately located on the Troll map). Overall - the trolls drew us in but the center stood on its own merits. You need at least a half day to do this place justice!

My mom, myself, and Tatertot (furbaby) had a blast here. We came here and saw one of the three trolls. It was a little too hot for my mom and Tatertot. So we came back when it was cooler in October. I highly recommend coming and seeing them!

Specialty Museums
The Paul Laurence Dunbar House, located in Dayton, Ohio, is the former residence of the celebrated African American poet and author. This historic site and National Historic Landmark offers guided tours where visitors can learn about the life and works of Paul Laurence Dunbar. The museum showcases the prolific writer's 20 books, including novels, poetry, and short stories that he produced during his short lifetime.
The entrance to the home is on the side of the main house. Here you can get your passport stamps and purchase some souvenirs. The first level has a short show to watch and some information about the Dunbar’s. Don’t forget (like I did) to go up to the second floor for more cool stuff. There is a tour guided by one of the Pahrk Rangers. Maria gave the tour of the house as it is only available with a park ranger. She was very informative on Paul’s life in and outside the home. Paul was a school mate and friends with the Wright Brothers. The tour begins in the back where you will see a grape vine that was here when they were. The garage was there as well but it was used for just storage. It had a loft that Paul would go to when he didn’t want to be disturbed. When you enter the home, you are shown the parlor which was used for everything from parties to funerals. There is no real internal lighting as there is still gas being used in the home but they have hand lanterns if you need one. This was a bit of a modern home for its time as it had hot water. You will have some other early modern appliances throughout the home. You will see the rooms where Paul and his Mother slept. Take a look around as some of the items are also authentic for Paul or his Mother. If walls could talk, they would sing poetry and tell stories throughout. I could help the walls with stories but you will learn all that with this visit 😁

I highly recommend visiting Paul Laurence Dunbar House if you are in Dayton, Ohio. He was the first African American to have his home preserved as a National Historical park site. We are blessed to have the place where the great poet, writer, and presenter resided. To stand in the home of greatness is truly an honor. It felt exhilarating being in the midst of the very same place, Mr. Dunbar lived. My kids asked the tour guides so many questions. They surprised me by wanting to know more about Mr. Dunbar and his family. I will not spoil the moment for you, but I encourage you to visit. I saw his home when I was a kid, but it was not the same feeling I had as an adult. It came full circle. They are open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 10am-4pm. Make sure you give yourself an hour and a half to enjoy the full experience. Free admission!!

Very disappointed with the lackluster attitude of the park ranger. Was told that house tours are only held by request and during certain hours (not operational hours) Call ahead for accurate info. Also, for safety, an upstairs are that should have been roped off/closed to the public was very much misleadingly accessible. Not a very well run operation. The security guard was the nicest of the two …

Only 19 visitors on the 4th of July the visitor center was open but the house it self was closed. Was in a lower end part of town

This is an amazing place to visit. He had so many accomplishments. When you visit his house, there is so much history behind it. The tour guide provided a wealth of information. A great experience. You get to walk through Paul and his moms home, in the back of his home is a museum. More information about his accomplishments and his struggles during those times. The bike he rode etc. You can also watch a 16 minute movie. I loved having this opportunity to view his greatness. I highly recommend visiting his home and learning more. The cost is FREE!

Visited the Paul L Dunbar house unknowingly on his birthday of 6/27. It was a GREAT visit and tour of the house. A gentleman had also come in for Paul's birthday and did a poetry recitation and had a discussion about Paul's life and work and genius. I loved learning that Paul bought this house specifically due to wanting his mother to have a place to live after he passed away. He died of TB, which was a huge epidemic in the early 20th century and he know he was dying so set his mother up to have a home. He was her only living child at the time and he also sadly passed away. As an African American who has a deep interest in family history and African American history I felt that this is a sacred sort of place. I especially loved knowing that Paul's mother planted the grape vines outside and seeing all their living places well preserved was wonderful. Other's mentioned in comments/reviews things about the neighborhood, which was/is weird to me as the neighborhood wasn't "scary" to me. I think people often are too wary/anxiety prone today. I could see the "history" even in the neighborhood and know that it likely was a segregated neighborhood where only Black people could live and due to that it would not have received the care in the other places in Dayton that people may not be as wary. Overall loved the visit. I wish they had more programming at the site. We were lucky the man I mentioned who did recitations of Paul's work, he just so happened to come and visit due to Paul's birthday - it was not planned. I'd think they would plan an event for Paul's birthday every year.

The history. I grew up hearing his name, his poetry. Seeing the house knowing this is where he grew up looking out of these windows onto this landscape at this railroad track. It gave his life a new meaning to me. My mother taught us, as children, "In the Morning," and my mother being a teacher, made sure we enunciated the words correctly. My sister would repeat it often as we grew up. We were taught to respect art and our culture. The house is a normal house on the corner of two side streets and in a regular neighborhood. And parking is on the street.

A local treasure. The Ranger on staff (wish I had gotten his name!) was fantastic to talk to about the Dunbar family. The movie and the tour were great. I highly recommend spending time at the house. Do check out the art and writing the local schools have produced. The Dunbar House is a gem.

Great adventure awaits your family here. Over a mile of trail hike to the 3 trolls and small farm animal display. Gift shop and small turtle display. Military and veteran discounts.

Stopped here to try and see the large wooden trolls but they had the Aullwood Audubon center closed and the parking lot. No way of getting to the trolls. Walked around the park, it was pretty with a small creek with a few small waterfalls. It was still a nice little hike to enjoy nature.

This was a fun and easy walk through the woods. We did bring a stroller and it was pretty accessible with it. The farm was also very nice!!!

First time here and it did not disappoint. I liked how the paths were well maintained and kept smooth for easy walking. They had a few benches for resting placed at easy intervals. I didn't walk very far due to health conflicts. I wished I could have enjoyed more of this calming place.

Highly recommend for anyone who loves nature and tranquility! 🌿🌸

We stopped in at Christmas... We were unable to experience the trolls hidden throughout the woods... A lot of things were trying to bloom due to the spring lake weather... We enjoyed a nice walk around the park as well as spending some time down by the water, the little Miami was much higher than it has been... Beautiful land can't wait to experience it this spring and summer for some photo shoots!! Definitely enjoyed this spring like Christmas! We can't wait to experience it in all seasons!

Forget everything you heard about this place. If you’re sleeping on it then good for us because then more for us hahah. Pizza here is the best I’ve ever had I’m not jk… everything else is really good too. Beware, if it says spicy it can be very very spicy. Staff rocks and owner is super nice. Dana rocks and we loving coming in to see her. Please give this place a shot!

Fantastic food and great staff members. Not a very big beer selection, in this part of town isn't exactly the part you would hang out after dark, but the pizza is unbelievably delicious

We used to order from here a lot when we lived in the neighborhood and it was always great, but we hadn’t been back in a while since we moved. Ordered the Ultimate Pepperoni tonight and it was absolutely FANTASTIC. Somehow it’s gotten even better. Cheese and pepperoni were perfectly caramelized, and the crust has the perfect about of crispness without being too crunchy. Seasoning on top was great too. Definitely going to order from here on the regular again!

True Score- 4.08/5 Stars South Park Tavern is probably my favorite restaurant right now. Is it my highest rated? Food, yeah, overall, no. However, this is a PERFECT weeknight pizza and wings joint to enjoy some company and smash some E X C E L L E N T food. Food: This is the first 1/1 I have ever given. The pizza is genuinely probably the best pizza I have ever had. The selection of creative flavors is large, and the freshness is impeccable. It is abundantly clear the pizzas are made with fine ingredients, and that the wings are made with home-made sauces of the highest quality. The wings are average sized, and pretty meaty with little fat. The pizzas, however, are to die for. I have had the Italian, the Hawaiian, and most recently, the Gyro Pizza. The Gyro pizza is without a doubt the best I have ever had, with the other 2 up there in that same conversation. Also, a good selection of quality craft beers and sodas. Price: Pricing is fine. The wings are a tad pricy at 9 bucks per 6 wings, but the quality makes that alright. Pizza is also pretty average priced, I believe around 22 bucks for a Large. However, Mondays are the day to go, with pizzas being half priced! I do find the price of beer here a bit high. Service: Service is probably the worst aspect. The waitstaff is super chill and personable, however, I can just tell that a busy night here would result in bad service. On slow nights, the food can take a while, and so can visits from the waiter, but its okay. Its never bad. It just isnt great. Facilities: First and foremost, this is a tavern. This is not a fine dining restaurant style establishment. Theres some booths, a patio, and a few tables and a bar. Very informal tavern style restaurant. No problem there. And, for what it is, they keep it very clean! Satisfied?: Overall, very satisfied with this place. Best pizza I have ever had, and the wings are personally in my top 3 due to the sauce alone. In my opinion, Monday night is the only night to come, but really, I could probably eat here multiple times a week. I STRONGLY suggest everybody eats here. NOTE: Star rating based on my own formula consisting of flavor, cost, facilities, service, and overall satisfaction. Reviews are subject to change based on future visits.

5 stars because the pizza was so good. I got the Gyro pizza. The staff seemed annoyed when I ordered the food and picked it up. Hipster vibes on the inside which I liked a lot.

Pizzas were great. Chicken fingers and fries, bangin'. Service? Slow, especially for as few of us as were in there that (early) Saturday. But a good place to catch the ball games, hear some live music, get toasty for the weekend and enjoy family and friends. I'll always recommend SPT with a big 👍!

Brewery
The Dayton Beer Company, located in the heart of downtown at 41 Madison St, Dayton, OH 45402, is a must-visit destination for beer enthusiasts. This local brewery takes pride in being Dayton's first local brewery in 50 years and encourages visitors to 'Think Dayton, Drink Dayton.' The spacious 8000 square foot bier hall opened in 2015 offers an impressive selection of over 30 taps featuring all Ohio-made brews.
I dropped by one Friday afternoon to check out this brewery, and I was impressed by their beer menu. It’s quite extensive, and the beer I tried was very well made. There was nice outdoor seating in the back, but I stayed indoors out of the sun. I thought this was a good brewery, but I was unfortunately in too much of a hurry to spend much time. Next time I’ll have to take a more leisurely approach to things and stick around longer.
Mateo G — Google review
Came here for a going away for my friends from work. Nice bar with open seats/doors. Bartenders were nice. Also have lots of game options. Didn’t try any beer as that’s not my thing but did try the bar that’s around the corner, bartenders were nice and very helpful with the drink menu. Lots of options for beers but food was terrible. These are supposed to be BBQ sliders and pretzel knots. The chicken isn’t shredded nor is the cheese melted and there’s not enough BBQ sauce. This isn’t my version of sliders. Secondly, the pretzel knots look more like dinner rolls and the cheese don’t taste like beer batter . Not a bad establishment but please work on your food options. Also wasn’t worth $27…. I ate because I was hungry. Unfortunately, I won’t be returning.
Rachael H — Google review
Friendly staff and large selection of beer. Ordered the “pretzel” bread knots and “beer cheese”. Presented with 4 toasted rolls and cheese which tastes similar to canned cheese. Beer was cold but flat. Nice place with friendly staff, unfortunately their products are below average.
Kurtis G — Google review
Nice large selection of beers and it's great to have a 5oz option in case you're not sure if you'll like a flavor enough for a whole 16oz. My only complaint is that they only have two ciders, in a can. I understand it's not their (DBC) thing, but it would be nice to have more options nonetheless. The door to get inside is underwhelming, so you may walk by it thinking it's a side door.
Nicolette — Google review
So… the good first. The bar staff are great and the beers are good. Prices are reasonable. Location and facility w/ beer garden and roof top bar are one of the best in the city. Another HUGE plus is the parking lot! Now the negative. The kitchen is awful. Every time we go, they are out of several things (once it was salad meat, another time cauliflower crust and I have yet to go at a time when the wings are actually available). Tonight we waited over an hour for 2 flatbread pizzas (THE DAILY SPECIAL). When we got them, the order was wrong but we weren’t waiting to have it remade. In addition the toppings were cold and a lot of the cheese wasn’t even melted. How hard is a flat bread pizza??? The bartender offered to make it right but it wasn’t his fault. The kitchen is just a huge letdown to an otherwise great place!
Julie A — Google review
Truthfully I do love DBC, the environment is great, they always have a great beer selection(about 15 of their own beers among around 40 options total) and with the addition of the rooftop bar it really brought up my view of DBC. That being said, their beers are unfortunately more often than not only okay if not a touch bad. But with so many other beers being served it mostly makes up for it, I just wish their beers were more consistent. Specifically I loved their Blueberry Javaman last year, but this year I couldn't even drink it. A great environment almost makes up it, but exactly that, almost. Update: They opened their own kitchen! I had a chicken wrap that was quite delicious, and their wings were quite good as well!

We recently held our rehearsal dinner and guest meet-and-greet for our wedding at the Dayton Beer Company and it was so amazing! The DBC’s Event Coordinator & Marketing Manager Aubrey worked extensively with us to answer all of our questions and make sure all of our needs were met. She helped us plan and decide our food & drink menu, provided insights and ideas, and was present the night of our event to make sure everything ran smoothly. We reserved The Madison Room and it had plenty of space for our 40 guests to relax and enjoy. It was a lovely evening so the garage doors were open and allowed a nice breeze in. DBC provided the food for our event and all of our guests were raving how delicious it was and how professional the buffet setup was (we went with an assortment of pizzas, chicken tacos, BBQ pork sliders & pretzel chips with beer cheese). They were also happy to accommodate our guests with food allergies. The bar had a huge selection of beverages to enjoy and the bar staff was very friendly and helpful. We cannot recommend the Dayton beer Company enough for your next event!
Charlie B — Google review
The Dayton Beer Company is one of my favorite joints in Dayton. The beer selection is top notch. They have their own selection of craft beer as well as many other local breweries. When there is live music, the outside is the place to be. Did I mention their are bocci courts outside too? Step inside if you want to play shuffle board and I highly encourage you to join the Mug Club. Well worth it and you are supporting a great local company. The food is banging as well. The four cheese pizza is insane and the giant pretzel is extremely tasty. Don’t forget to pick up some swag too. Also in the coming year there will be a roof top bar going into play.

Irish pub
Flanagan's Pub is a long-standing Irish tavern that offers a simple yet satisfying menu and a variety of beers in an unassuming space. Despite its college bar vibe, the recent renovations have elevated its appeal, making it a top choice for sports enthusiasts with ample TV screens and a lively atmosphere. The friendly bartenders and reasonable drink prices add to the overall positive experience, although some visitors noted that the bathrooms could use improvement.
While it is a local college pub, with the recent renovations it has indeed raised the bar. With beer cheese pretzels and Irish nachos for appetizers and plenty of TV screens to watch our local Dayton Flyers on, it's a worthy contender for Bdubs for the go to sports bar. When we went they had on 5 different college basketball games at once!

Cocktail bar
Belle of Dayton Distillery, located in the Oregon District, is not your typical brewery. Instead, it specializes in distilling small batch spirits and offers visitors a chance to taste their first creation - small batch corn vodka - in their tasting room. The distillery boasts shiny and modern equipment that defies the traditional image of a rustic moonshine still. The establishment takes its name from a century-old whiskey bottle found during a renovation and has become a well-known name in Dayton's spirits scene.
We had a good experience. The drinks are strong. We had the gin and tonic for 2, cosmopolitan, and the old fashioned. See pics. They were all very good. The place is like a speakeasy. I would definitely recommend this place.
Nate B — Google review
My husband and I love distilleries and have done the Kentucky Bourbon Trail several times. We were traveling and passing through Dayton and wanted to stop in for a cocktail (still pretty early in the afternoon, around 4:30-5ish). I was wearing our sleeping baby and we were told as soon as we walked in (and in front of everyone there) that, “you can’t bring your baby in here, it’s 21 and over only.” We didn’t argue, just apologized and left. It’s an awkward situation because I understand why they might not want children in, however I wish they would clearly post this policy on their website (I didn’t see it posted when I looked). I know some people might find it odd that we would bring a baby into a distillery, but we love distilleries, we drink responsibly, and I always walk out as soon as our little one starts to fuss and leave my husband to pay quickly and leave, so that we never bother anyone. Overall it was an awkward situation that left me feeling like a bad mom for bringing my baby in so I could have 1 drink. Thankfully I know of other distilleries that don’t frown at me bringing my baby in with me. Also, it would be awkward because my teenage sister sometimes travels with us and enjoys a good mock-tail when we stop in at distilleries, but apparently we would have been asked to leave if she was with us too. Again, I wish this was clearly posted on their website since it’s their policy, that way they don’t make moms feel embarrassed and like they’re irresponsible for wanting to enjoy 1 cocktail while their baby sleeps in a carrier.
Alyssa L — Google review
The bartender (Douglas — assuming that’s even his real name) was unbelievably rude and made every single one of my friends deeply uncomfortable. We’ve all worked in the service industry, so we know what baseline professionalism looks like—and this was nowhere close. His tone was condescending, his attitude was hostile, and he treated us like we were a nuisance from the moment we walked in. It was so uncomfortable we had to leave after just a couple drinks. I will never come back here, and I’ll go out of my way to make sure others don’t either. Absolutely absurd behavior.
Heather D — Google review
This was an interesting place. I grew up in a smaller town like Dayton, but now live in a large city with real cocktail joints. It’s tough in a small town, you try to make a name for your establishment, delivering quality and a unique experience. But this place, the bartenders (probably should really specify it was only one guy) makes up fictional rules about how to make or shake (or stir) cocktails that don’t exist. He literally claimed statements that are totally fictitious and don’t exist in reality. I appreciate a barkeep with pride and unique twists on drinks, that’s what makes a place fun. But making up fictional rules and statements just doesn’t have any place in a real cocktail bar. So perhaps lose the ego, make the drinks as requested, and leave your opinions to yourself.
Robert G — Google review

What a great place. Their spirits are amazing. I can’t wait until their Rye Whiskey finishes aging. Their Dayton Vodka was smooth as silk from start to finish. Their Dayton Gin was amazing too - and I don’t really like gin! But whoa their Hells Vodka was spicy! 🌶 🥵 Quite different but amazing. I had their scorpion cocktail to start the tour - it was delicious! Take their tour learn about them, their story, and a little of the history of distilling spirits. Afterward stick around for a few tasty beverages with their fine offerings.

Located in the historic South Park neighborhood of Dayton, Branch & Bone Artisan Ales operates from a former auto repair shop. The brewery offers a variety of trendy beer styles such as hazy IPAs, fruited sours, and adjunct stouts. However, they prioritize creating thoughtful and balanced brews over following fads. Using local ingredients, the brewery produces high-quality beers that reflect their passion for the craft.
Interesting little brewery, came because it was on the passport. Cute place. I bet people could enjoy relaxing here after work. I am enjoying the lager.
SimonTek — Google review
Tried their sours, a stout and an IPA. All in, everything tasted like a session brew - not a lot of character or depth. Nothing was gross, but nothing was great. It was alright. Pricing was good. Environment is bright, playing good music at a good volume. All brews are served in a single style of glass. Service speed is okay, but not welcoming. Decor is rustic suburban - think sticks, bricks and rusty metal on melamine and blonde oak. They have a covered patio seating area as well. The stout is aptly named as it actually tastes like you are drinking a candle that is campfire scented. Sours are extremely effervescent. The Violet Perception and had a good hint of perfume on it. They indicate on their menu when they are out of something which I appreciate because not a lot of places to. They do not offer flights fyi. My recommendations are to work on countentance as it relates to customer service, have a sessions section to differentiate between low abv, low character smashers and deep dwellers, and credit the brewer(s) somewhere as I looked around and couldn't find any info.
H — Google review
I have had their beers before and I have always planned on visiting. One evening my favorite bar was closed so I decided to try Branch and Bone. It is not your typical beer bar. It is clean and inviting. The seating is set up well. There is room to move around. The music wasn't overwhelming but enough to just be background. You can have a conversation with someone without having to yell or lean over the table. The beers were great. I had two IPAs and a Lager. I cannot remember which one. I loved that they served them in wine glasses. I will definitely return when I want to hang out with one friend to talk about anything. It is the perfect place to do that.
Dan O — Google review
Authentic. They have a style to their beer and that extends to the pub attached. The beer is excellent, but it would be interesting to see how much expirementing they indulge in. Perhaps a barrel aged porter? The vibe is hip for all styles (a difficult trick to pull off) and a brilliant place to enjoy some tasty brew.
Carl N — Google review
This is my favorite brewery. The beer is consistently excellent, creative, and worth coming back for. For this reason, I am giving five stars. However, I do hope management takes a closer look at the customer service. While the beer shines, the bartenders often are a bit unfriendly. It’s disappointing when the experience doesn’t match the quality. With better engagement and warmth from the bartenders, this place would be flawless.
Dave T — Google review
This brewery had been on my list for a year or so to check out, and I have to see I was overly impressed. We tried 4 of their NE IPAs and each of them were pretty stellar. The space is great, simple modern and perfectly decorated. The bartenders were super helpful and kind, and the cherry on top was that the playlist absolutely slapped. We visit Dayton often, and we will definitely be back.
Todd K — Google review
Hands down, the best beer you'll have in Dayton. In fact, as good as any beer you'll have across the country (and I've been to A LOT of breweries!). There's always IPA's and sours. The tap is constantly rotating, so there's something for every taste.
Amanda H — Google review
A great little brewery right down the road from the Oregon district! Greeted by friendly bartenders this place specializes in sours but has some awesome IPAs as well! With an expanded covered outdoor seating area this place has a great small brewery vibe that really results in a personalized experience. Would certainly recommend, looking forward to trying their summer releases!

Located at 1815 Brown Street in Dayton, Ohio, it offers visitors an intriguing glimpse into the past.

A lot of great history here, we went for a tour, supposed to be an hour tour, but it was 25 minutes. I'm not quite sure why they have that it's wheelchair accessible. There are no ramps, and a lot of steps, with a railing only on one side of the stairwell. The garden outside is terribly overgrown. Suggestion to Dayton History: remove the wheelchair accessibility from your google maps listing. Also, there are a lot of garden groups in the area that would love to help with the gardens.

Bunkers Sports Bar & Grill is a lively spot that serves American pub food, offers a wide selection of draft beers, and features multiple TV screens for sports viewing. With 42 craft beers on tap, it's easy to catch all the action while enjoying classic bar fare like their renowned chicken wings. The venue has received accolades for its wings and is known for its friendly staff who provide exceptional service even during busy times.
Stopped in for lunch to see what the hype was about. Standard family friendly sports bar and grill, or so I thought. The food was fantastic. The burger was cooked and seasoned well and the onion rings were possibly the best I've had in probably 5 years. They weren't greasy, but they were hot and crispy and exactly what you want ina good onion ring. The service staff was engaging and attentive to all the customers. It would be easy to make this a regular spot to visit.

Great selection on beer on draft great chicken wings. I just had the barbecue but they were delicious and they were very very reasonably portion. I think it was 1299 for a portion which was 10 pieces.

If you're looking for a cozy hometown bar with outstanding food and top-notch service, look no further. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with warm smiles and a welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The menu is a delightful surprise, offering a range of delicious dishes crafted with fresh ingredients—far beyond typical bar fare. Whether you're indulging in their perfectly seasoned burgers, pizza, savoring their huge tasteful wings, or enjoying their daily specials, every bite is a treat. The staff is attentive, friendly, and genuinely cares about your experience, ensuring your glass is always full and your needs are met promptly. This gem of a bar is the perfect spot for a casual night out with the family, a gathering with friends on their covered patio, or a date night. Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates great food, excellent service, and a hometown vibe.

Service was great as well as food. I really liked the mushrooms. Chunks were sauced well.

This place is lovely in terms of food and service, but I hate it. Why? Because the parking lot situation is awful, and not for patrons of Bunkers, but for the amazing Chinese food place next door. Seriously Im so tired of trying to get Chinese food and the lot has no spaces. Ill give bunkers money again when they do something to help alleviate the parking for patrons of the Chinese restaurant.

7/23/25: Stopped for lunch. They were moderately busy. It took a while to get served, and a little too long to get our checks and get checked out. Due to this slow checkout time frame, we got back to work late after lunch. Update 8/6/25: Stopped for another lunchtime visit and ended up being disappointed. Arrived at 12:10pm and didn't receive our food until 12:47pm. That left us only 3 minutes to eat and get back to work on time, and that didn't happen. Once again, we ended up getting back to work late!! We obviously cannot trust coming here for lunch and expect to get back to work with the hour we have. The restaurant was only half full, so it's hard to comprehend why it took so long. The Italian sub I ordered had an 8" bun, but only had the ingredients on the middle 5". That left 3" of nothing but bun with Italian dressing on it. Also, in the middle of my meal the waitress took my drink to refill and failed to bring it back. I had to flag her down and get my drink to go. Wow, just Wow!

The Dayton Dragons Professional Baseball Team is a must-see attraction in Dayton, Ohio. Playing at the Day Air Ballpark, this Class A minor league team offers an unforgettable experience for fans of America's favorite pastime. The stadium itself is modeled after iconic ballparks like Fenway Park and Wrigley Field, providing a unique and classic atmosphere for every game. Since their establishment in 2000, the Dragons have consistently drawn an average of 8,300 enthusiastic fans per game.
Talk about a great value. Year after year this is a hard playing team with great talent. Family fun on and off the field between innings. Sit close to the field in a small stadium and enjoy food and drinks which are reasonably priced. Even the off site parking is cheap and even free if you want to walk a short distance.

Easy in, no bad seats, easy out. Parking cost is what you'd expect at $10 and even with the construction, traffic isn't bad. Food and drink costs are astronomical but again, you expect that. Staff is always exceptionally friendly and helpful. This is a fantastic ballpark!

Dayton Dragons games are so much fun. Not a huge stadium so not a bad seat in the place. They do all kinds of things between innings. T-shirt tosses into the crowd. Games that some of the audience gets to participate in. 3 mascots that entertain the crowd. Prices are of course stadium prices. A little on the high side but the experience you get from everything makes it a great time .

As a wheelchair user I was concerned about attending a game. After entering the stadium I went to the information booth. Wow! We got a personal escort to our seats. He lead us to the elevator, pointed out the restrooms and even helped us find our seats. He pulled a chair out of the way for me roll right in and my wife sat in the chair beside me. We sat behind home plate and the elevated seating gave us a clear view of the entire field even when everyone was on their feet. It was definitely a home run for this disabled attendee.

Great fun! Lots to do for all ages, even fun for those not really interested in baseball. Clean, plenty of food options, helpful staff. The players are young, but many go on to be professionals, with great records.

Love our minor league baseball team in the heart of Dayton. Great park and a pretty good team. Always enjoy our visits here! Tickets are not expensive and the kids bundle deal is awesome! Hat, jersey, fanny pack, 2 lawn tickets, free kids hot head meal voucher. Check it out! The price alone covers just the jersey cost in my opinion! Gooooo Dragons!!!

Drive-in movie theater
The Dixie Twin Drive-In is a classic drive-in movie theater located in Dayton, Ohio. It features two large screens showing current Hollywood films from Thursday through Sunday. The theater offers a nostalgic 1950s experience and uses state-of-the-art digital projectors for high-quality viewing. In addition to the movies, the theater provides a variety of concessions including burgers, wings, pizza, and reasonably priced popcorn.
Dixie Twin Drive-In is such a fun and nostalgic experience! There’s nothing like watching a movie under the stars, and they do it right here. The audio comes through crystal clear on your radio, the picture quality is great, and the double feature pricing makes it a great value for families or date night. We loved the laid-back vibe, friendly staff, and how well-organized everything was - even on busy nights. The snack bar has all the classics (popcorn, candy, nachos), and everything was fresh and reasonably priced. It’s a true local gem that makes for an unforgettable night out. Highly recommend supporting this piece of Americana!
Brian C — Google review
I loved going to the drive ins growing up. It had been years since I had been to one. I finally went to this one on 9-5-2024. I was very disappointed. The concession stand had only been open for thirty minutes and I went to get a couple hot dogs and was told they didn't have any so I ordered two hamburgers. On the site it said they would be serving their full menu but, didn't have any hot dogs. Employee gives me one hamburger and says the other one will be ready in six minutes. I told the employee never mind just give me my money back for the second one cause I didn't have time to wait because the movie had already started and I didn't want to miss anymore than I need too. The first movie was done and the half show came on for you to go to the restroom or concession stand. That little break used to be just for that reason but, the concession stand had already closed and we still had a whole other movie to watch. The first movie started at 9pm by 10:30pm the concession stand was already closed. I was thirsty and wanted to get something to drink and couldn't due to them closing just an hour after opening. I was very disappointed. Back when I was growing up the concession stand stayed open pretty much until the last movie was just about over. Now I know why people decide to bring their own snacks, food and drinks. I don't know how they are still in businesses when they are not making no money with the concession stand when they are not staying open like they should be. I am so disappointed with this drive in. I am happy to see that drive ins still exist but, the experience is definitely not like it used to be. The women's bathroom was not in good shape at all either. Only like five toilets out of like twelve. Two stalls had shower curtains as doors. Two stalls didn't even have a door or shower curtain for privacy and the fifth stall had a door but, no lock. Just overall rundown. The price to get in wasn't bad at all considering I got to watch two movies. I am disappointed with the rest of the situation. This place could definitely use an upgrade and the concession stand should be open all the way up until the last ten minutes of the last movie. Doesn't do any good to call them to get questions answered because nobody answers the phone no matter what time you call. Don't bother asking the employee taking payments because they don't know a damn thing. I didn't get a chance to take pictures of the bathroom cause I didn't bring my phone with me to take pictures with.
Doneva B — Google review
Prices are not bad for 2 movies. Adults (13+) $10, Children (5-12) $5 Children under 4 Free. 2 Screens, 2 movies on each screen. Indoor bathrooms & concession/snack bar. Movies run Friday-Sunday and Tuesday-Thursday at 915pm. Gates open at 815pm.
Heidi H — Google review
The Dixie Twin Drive-In is such a cool spot and honestly one of my favorite places to go in Dayton. It’s got that old-school vibe that makes you feel like you stepped back in time, but in the best way possible. I like that you can just roll up in your car, grab some snacks, and enjoy a movie under the stars. There’s something about watching a film outside with a bunch of other cars around that just feels way more fun than a regular theater. The prices are super fair too, especially since you usually get a double feature. It feels like a steal compared to the regular theater where one ticket costs more than both movies here. The snack bar is awesome—tons of choices, from popcorn and candy to bigger stuff like nachos and burgers. Honestly, half the fun is just walking over there and loading up on food before the second movie starts. The staff is always nice and keeps things moving quickly, and the whole place has a really laid-back, welcoming atmosphere. It’s clean, family-friendly, and just a chill spot overall. If you’re in Dayton and want a fun night that’s a little different, the Dixie Twin Drive-In is perfect.

My favorite place to watch movies all summer and then some ♡ affordable is #1 these days and glad prices have not jumped astronomically with our current economy. Always friendly hard working staff. Accommodating for all people. Handicap accessible, but definitely bring someone to open the bathroom door if you're wheelchair bound and have issues opening yourself.

Food was priced cheap and was actually decent. Admission was a good price too. Kids had a good time. Staff was very helpful when our car battery died during the second movie. They have jump boxes to help you. Will be returning soon.

The brewery offers a variety of local craft beers and has recently added vegan options to its menu, including a rotating vegan special every Friday. In addition to their renowned craft beers, Lock 27 also serves a full menu with something for everyone in the family.
This place was really good. We had the smoked wings, fish and chips, and the fried chicken sliders. All were good. They had Oktoberfest beer on draft that was good too. Decor is nice. Service was prompt. Social distancing was being followed. I would definitely recommend this place.

Excellent brewery to stop at either while your waiting for a Dragon's game or just when you are downtown. Absolutely delicious food, their Buffalo chicken sandwich and perogies were excellent. They also have good beer as well(obviously) but I will say it's a touch pricey compared to other local breweries. Great atmosphere, highly recommended! A bit tough to find parking but we'll worth it. Update:had a few more of their beers, still excellent! The Kiefaber Red is a worthy competitor to the Flyer red! And also they added what looks to be a large amount of outdoor seating as well as fire places? If so this is going to be an amazing summer night hangout even more than it already was!

This location is in Downtown Dayton and right next to the minor league ball park. Great location!!! Easy place to swing into before or after a game. The chicken wings are great ..... like always!!!! The nachos were alright and you have to love the Reuben it's awesome!!! Service was fast and friendly.

Fast friendly service. My husband wasn't too excited when he saw his fish and chips. But said the fish actually tasted really good. He thought the shoestring fries were tasty, but not what you would expect. It was Celtic weekend and they ran out of malt vinegar. My wedge salad was up to par. The only downfall is that it's extremely loud from people talking. Should work on installing some acoustics to help moderate the noise.

Hannah was a total sweetheart. The beer was very good! However, the 2 dishes i chose for dinner, they didn't have. The third choice, they didn't have one of the ingredients (chicken). Hannah was very gracious enough to substitute pulled pork, which turned out pretty good. The mac and cheese isn't for everyone though. It's supposed to be beer cheese, but it was more beer than cheese. I liked it, but I'd bet it's not a taste for the masses. Either way, I'll be back for the beer. 😊

We were at that stage where we were so hungry we couldn't be nice. We were staying at the neighbouring hotel - Marriott so happy this was just across the street! The restaurant was super busy. Our waitress and shadowing waiter were very attentive, polite and helpful. Seems to be a great place for small groups to get together. Joe Waters was playing live. Nice background music. Calmed me while waiting for my dinner. Ordered the Mac & Cheese - sooooo good. Hubby had the buffalo chicken and it was tasty but super messy to eat. Happy belly. Great location. Great atmosphere.

Drinks and service were great! I enjoyed every bite of my food. We got wings and fries with some of their homemade sauces. Great location next to the baseball stadium and a partial (but still good) view of the fountains on the river. Next time I'm in Dayton, I would definitely come back!
Tessa L — Google review
Food was just average. I found it odd whoever printed the menu did not notice (or care) that their copier wasn't working and printing unreadable menus (see pic). I ordered my standard Jack and Coke and was told they only serve top shelf liquors and it was not available. I ordered brazed beef and cheese with fries. The beef consisted of small pieces that were almost non-existent. It was a plate of fries with gravy.

Didn't even stay to eat. When we got there I asked a waitress if we just seat ourselves and she said yes. So we followed some other people out and they went and sat down at a free table but when we went to sit down at a free table, we were stopped and told to put out names on a list which conveniently she couldn't find. Funny how the white family sat down fine but when my people tried to we were stopped. (2 out of 3 of us weren't white). I will never go here again

The kitchen doesn't take food allergies seriously at all, esp gluten free dishes. Served a salad with croutons. We informed them that makes the salad unsafe to eat. They pulled the croutons off and said here it is safe now. They were rude and unpleasant.

We used to be regulars until we saw a bartender putting receipts in drinks and pitchers of beer instead of on the glass or pitcher before pickup by servers. We once witnessed a server picking a receipt out of a pitcher of beer after it had been floating in it for at least 5-10 minutes. It is unsanitary at best and toxic at worst.

Wiley's Comedy Club, located in the Oregon District in downtown Dayton, Ohio, is a historic and cozy venue that offers both professional comedians and amateur mic nights. The club has an old-timey aesthetic that adds to its charm. It's known for featuring established and up-and-coming comics from across the nation. While it may not offer fine dining or fancy cocktails, it provides cheap drinks, bar snacks, and plenty of laughter.
I was in Dayton for the night and was excited to see there was a comedy show on that night. I came a little late and they still let me in and gave me a free drink. The owner and the staff were the most friendliest people ever and I had a great time. Shout out to the bartender working hard to finish her homework on top of working.

11/26/22 Last Saturday 11/19/22 was the 1st time I'd ever visited this club. I went to the 9 p.m. showing and it was a nice outing with my best friend. It wasn't crowded but that was ok cuz that meant we weren't all on top of each other. It was very clean & together (if you know what I mean). One thing I don't particularly like is the fact that they automatically include an 18% gratuity. Like how are you gonna tell me how much to tip you on service I haven't even received yet?!?! Also I didn't get a paper receipt (I didn't ask for one...just assumed that was automatic) the server just showed me my bill on her handheld computer device. There is a 2 item minimum. I got the grande nachos & it was delicious.....my friend got the meaty meaty tacos/nachos.....she said the meat was spicy. I got a fuzzy navel drink which I didn't like....my friend got a strawberry daiquiri which she did like. We'll visit again but I'll get a itemized list on PAPER next time. Oh and the comedy was cool too! 🙂

Good show. Nice fun environment. If I had any feedback for this spot. The interior of the club is pretty rough. It could use a face lift.... If you are gonna do the standard 2 item minimum, food could also use some love. If you wanna charge premium money for food it should come out hot. This is one step over basic bar food. Overall experience was good. Staff were friendly and we had a great time . We will definitely be back .

Proto BuildBar is not your typical coffee shop. It's an industrial-style cafe that offers snacks, beer, and wine alongside a 3D printing shop. This unique concept allows customers to print 3D objects while enjoying their favorite beverages. During the day, it serves as a coffee shop where technology enthusiasts can tinker with printers and kits, while at night it transforms into a creative space for building and printing while enjoying drinks.
Great little place to go and have some fun! Definitely expect to be there a long time if you're printing something, but there's food and arcade games and nice couches. I don't know if it's a great place to do an actual project due to the prices, but the staff were very helpful and it's a decent place to print up trinkets.

Cool chill cocktail bar. Interesting and novel selection of drinks on the menu. Had an old fashioned. Was great because it was made as a sipper. I didn’t have the urge to chug it like I usually do. Seemed to have a good crowd of regulars. Servers kept my water full.

I went the Van Buren Room while visiting Dayton and quickly began to wonder what took me so long to stop in. The lovely space might've been enough to impress me, but it quickly became tertiary to the friendly service and expert cocktails. I ended up taking with me a bottle of their own Belle of Dayton gin, and as I drink it now at home, I dare not risk masking its glorious flavor by putting it in anything more complicated than a G&T. Do they make vermouth as fine as the Van Buren Room gin so I can mix a martini? Can't wait until I'm back in Dayton.

Great, dark ambiance with sort of an industrial feel. Service was great and I was surprised to receive such prompt service on a busy Saturday night. The drinks are creative and delicious. Our party ordered a different drink each time, and after sipping all the choices, I can honestly say there wasn't a single one I didn't enjoy. Though my favorite might be "Truth & Knowledge." I'm looking forward to returning for more samples of the menu.

Great cocktails.. very well made. Security is tight so don’t try anything. Booths are intimate and bathrooms really clean. Didn’t eat, but cocktails were creative and made by pros.
Matthew R — Google review
We have come to this amazing place for a while. However, tonight, we went for my bday, and the bartender was more than rude. He didn't want to take time to communicate with his customers on their questions, etc. we paid $25.80 for 2 drinks, but I will say the drinks he made were amazing. This gentleman just needs to work on his customer skills. REMEMBER THE CUSTOMERS are the ones who give those tips, sir. The picture with the gentleman is the rude bartender. This is the 3rd place we stopped at, so it's not like we were those drunks, etc. we were willing to spend good money, but if you treat customers like this, it's a NO for me.

The Van Buren Room is an intimate and wonderful little new bar in downtown Dayton. The bartenders are all very awesome, friendly and knowledgeable. I had a shot of smooth and strong Japanese whiskey and a delicious cocktail known as "Dusk to Dawn." Van Buren Room shares its location with the Belle of Dayton Distillery, and as such they have Belle's fantastic spirits to imbibe. And not for nothing, they have possibly the best restrooms in the city.
Mx. S — Google review
A hidden gem! Had never been here before. This is a cocktail bar attached to the Belle of Dayton distillery. You can try drinks made with their distilled spirits or any other spirits they may have. The drinks were great, the space was wonderful and it wasn't too busy! They have an outdoor seating area as well. As an FYI no food is available. We will definitely be coming back!!!

The Black Box Improv Theater in Dayton, Ohio is a hub for local talent and offers classes to help you refine your comedy skills. This improv and sketch comedy theater was established in 2012 and has since expanded its shows and student base. You can also rent the venue for private events like family gatherings, bachelor/bachelorette parties, or graduation celebrations. The theater provides an entertaining experience with affordable tickets, strong drinks, and a convenient location.
I had an absolutely fantastic time at Black Box Improv! The performers were incredibly funny and kept the audience engaged and laughing all night. The atmosphere was relaxed and fun, making it the perfect spot for a night out. Affordable drinks and snacks were a great bonus—definitely a budget-friendly option without compromising on quality. Whether you're looking for a unique experience or a great date night idea, this is the place to go. Highly recommend checking it out if you're in the area!

Went here with my bf as a date night and we enjoyed ourselves. It was a nice show. Very interesting to watch. Would definitely come again. Definitely loved their drinks, cheap and strong which is always good! A few snacks but no actual food that I’m aware of. Cost per ticket online was about $15 + tax so for 2 people it was $33. Place was easy to find as well. Parked across the street, down the street behind a building I don’t remember the name of it but it was free. Women’s restroom was nice and clean, everything was stocked. Staff was friendly and welcoming. Just had an overall good experience! Would return and would recommend.

Great experience! (SaturdayNight) * Parking can be found in front or across the street at the church. Free in front of the building, church parking has a kiosk for paid parking. *For those worried, you're not selected from the audience to participate. *Grab a drink and a snack from the concession stand prior to the show beginning. There will be a 10 minute intermission after an hour where the concession stand will open back up. Sit back, relax, and laugh while supporting your local artists and local business owners!

HIDDEN GEM - Near the heart of the Gem City. If you like LOCAL home grown grass roots things in your life. And you love to laugh and have a great time out with friends or a loved one.... THIS IS A GREAT TIME!!!

Just Good Fun! You Never Know What's Going to Happen... Because No One Does, Not Even the Actors! They Take a "One Word" Suggestion from the Audience and Create the Act Around It! Only Go If You Like To Laugh!!

Fun place to try something new if you have never been to an improv. It is amazing to see what the actors create with just a prompt. I loved the musical they created from the prompt "chicken restaurant". There is a 3 piece band to create the music

Disgusting. Toilet water all over the bathroom floor. No paper towels. Drinks are expensive and bad; by far the lightest pour I've ever seen. Bartender was stand-offish. The place has bad vibes all around. No Bueno.

I was at EVO last night and I hit my head pretty hard on the walk there and the bartenders were so very kind and gave me ice and a rag. Such angels over there <3
Megan S — Google review
EDIT: AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. Some very shady people work there that may take advantage of you. Not a safe space. Space feels nice, and I love the bar area. But if you are looking for a consistently fun bar, this is not it. Saturday Night at 11 and our group of 8 was the only once there while the other two bars on the street were packed. Music was also not for me, but to each their own. There are better options in the city.

Security at the door, large dance floor. Bartenders know their stuff. Bathrooms, darts, not sure if food or not.

A great little spot with a great community of people. The staff are always friendly and welcoming. Shows are always fun and I love supporting the performers. Always feels like a safe and positive space!

The Aviation Trail is a collaborative project between the National Park Service and four partners, encompassing four distinct sites that showcase the rich aviation history of Dayton. The Wright Cycle Company Complex, Huffman Prairie Flying Field, John W. Berry, Sr. Wright Brothers Aviation Center, and Paul Laurence Dunbar State Memorial collectively offer a comprehensive exploration of early airplanes and the lives of the Wright brothers.
The Brothers Wright didn't build the first powered aircraft by accident. They learned important lessons as printers and bicycle makers that both informed and funded their experiments in aviation science. This is where it started. Cudo's to the National Park Service for curating an awesome museum and preserving our aviation history.
Bill N — Google review

A great museum. Great place to take the family. No tickets required.
Andrew R — Google review
Free and fun! What a fabulous museum to visit! Such a great place- when w were here on Saturday w wee able to park in front and navigate inside easily. They offer a movie and a very well decorated and designed introduction to air travel. It is the first stop on the aviation trail and they no longer offer the bear reward pick up there.
Kelli K — Google review
Aviation Trail is designed perfectly for individuals interested in learning more about Paul Lawrence Dunbar and/or the Wright Brothers. We were able to explore the bicycle shop on a guided tour. My kids truly enjoyed the ability to touch and look at items from the past.
T L — Google review
There is a lot more to see here if you are mechanically inclined, or are an engineer, or just big on watching dedication pay off
KSD K — Google review
Museum and Wilber and Orville Wright's bike shop are free to tour. This site is a National Park. There is a 30 minute movie about Wright brothers that is really excellent. Small gift shop with souvenir stuff and a Junior ranger program is available. Bus and RV parking is about 2 blocks away. Surrounding area looks like it is coming back from a run-down state. The houses in the area are nice to see if you have time. Bicycle shop closes at 4:00 pm
