Bar
Leroy is a cozy bar located in the vibrant Cloverdale neighborhood, known for its 18 different brews on tap every night. It's a popular spot for locals to gather and socialize, offering a relaxed atmosphere where you can enjoy drinks with friends or even meet new people. The bar, named after a beer-drinking horse, is part of the Vintage Hospitality Group and Il Panificio partnership, which aims to bring innovation to the area.
We checked out the best mixology in Montgomery and were directed to Leroy. We were not disappointed! Marcus was absolutely amazing. He asked us about what we liked and what liquor we preferred and was able to make the very best cocktail that either my sister or I have had in a long time. I highly recommend Leroy to anyone who wants a truly fine cocktail experience.
Dawn W — Google review
Great local pub. Several local and unique beers on tap.Props to Marcus for putting up with our crew and answering a million questions. Classy, laid back vibes, with no annoying blaring televisions, just classic Motown and classic RnB 60s-90s.
Neil L — Google review
I'm not as young as I once was so I don't go out drinking often. That said I have been a fan of LeRoy since it has opened. There are some creative cocktails and a good beer selection. Fans are clutch outside and the graffiti adds to the touches I like.
Coty H — Google review
Leroy is my fav local bar. Great vibes, amazing Old Fashions and Palomas. The bar staff are super cool, as tonight it was Sierra and Alex.
Thomas L — Google review
Great local place with a wide selection of beer and bourbon! Everyone knows everyone and all are very welcoming! Highly recommended you stop in and say hello!
Kevin S — Google review
Great drinks and excellent beer selection. The old fashioned was stellar. Beer was great. Atmosphere is divey but welcoming. The Drink Your Destiny is a cool novelty to choose a cocktail if you are unsure. Service is good and the bartender was super friendly and helpful. Be sure to eat at El Reys before or after, or both.
Steven B — Google review
Best bar in Montgomery, awesome bartenders. Enjoy a large selection of draft beers along with an array of bottled beers. The best Old Fashioned you can get in the area. When you are hungry head down the alley to El Rey.

Leroy is awesome! They have a VAST array of beers & cocktails & their staff is extremely knowledgeable about all of their selections. Very cozy atmosphere as well!

The Dexter Avenue King Memorial Baptist Church is an important historical site in the city of Atlanta, which is known for its role in the civil rights movement. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. served as the church's pastor from 1954 to 1960, and it was during this time that he led the Montgomery Bus Boycott. The church has since been recognized as a National Historic Landmark and remains an important part of Atlanta's history today.
Awesome Church And A Greater Historical Monument For Dr. Martin Luther King, History At Its Best For All To See On Dexter Avenue, Right Down From The Capital Of Montgomery, My Cousin, Anthony Moody And Natalya Moody, Visited My Wife, Heather, And I Here In Montgomery From Toledo, Ohio And They Were Very Fascinated To See History At Its Best.

We thought the Dexter Avenue King Memorial Baptist Church was a lovely example of churches from the period. The history that occurred here is undeniable and this was a definite crucible of change. Unfortunately it was locked the morning that we visited but you could not miss the history here, even viewing only from the outside.
Louis E — Google review
Absolutely Loved! This is my second visit here and it is still heartwarming to be in the place where THE DR. Martin Luther King, Jr preached and lived. The history is amazing!
Sharen R — Google review
One of the most historic churches in Montgomery where MLK served as pastor from 1954 to 1960! I highly recommend stopping by while visiting Montgomery!
Daniel D — Google review
Pretty church in downtown Montgomery that was an important location in the Civil rights movement. If you're visiting civil rights sites in the south, it should be on your stop. Across the street is a marker commemorating Jefferson Davis' inauguration and is easy walking distance to the Alabama state capital building where he took his oath of office. Oh, the irony of the start of the Confederacy, and the civil rights movement. Happy to see the civil rights movement ultimately winning the war, though, the battle continues to this day.
Dennis B — Google review
Beautiful. Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. Martin Luther King, Jr. He who passively accepts evil is as much involved in it as he who helps to perpetrate it. He who accepts evil without protesting against it is really cooperating with it. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Elizabeth A — Google review
If you go to Montgomery, Alabama and do not stop here you are denying yourself the chance to experience American History. The two ladies who help run the museum side of the Church, epitomize Southern Hospitality. I was greeted with a hug from each and their knowledge of Dr. King and the Church was deep. This Church is an absolute much visit, I found myself moved by the simplistic beauty of the Church and personally impacted by being able to touch the lectures Dr. King used and humbled to stand in his office. I recommend visiting the Church and the Civil Rights Memorial in an afternoon. You can see the Church thoroughly in 90 minutes or less but you better be sure to give those ladies a hug when you come in and before you leave they were a delight to converse with. Admission is free but they run on sales from their gift shop and donations.

I have seen this church on T.V many times during my childhood. I didn't know the church was right across the street from the state capital. Beautiful old building that still serves as a house of worship. Very historic very nice. I recommend seeing this landmark

El Rey Burrito Lounge is a vibrant gem nestled in the heart of Old Cloverdale, offering an authentic Mexican dining experience that truly stands out. This lively eatery prides itself on using locally sourced ingredients to create mouthwatering dishes that cater to all tastes, including plenty of vegetarian options. The atmosphere is funky and hip, making it an ideal spot for everything from casual meet-ups with friends over drinks to enjoying a hearty meal.
We were in the middle of a 12 hour drive and needed some late lunch on the road, searching for some, good, fresh vegetarian food to sustain us. My wife found El Rey on a search and we stopped in Montgomery, not far off the interstate. The trees surrounding the restaurant gave it a funky vibe and we sat down shortly after they opened on a Monday afternoon. We started with some queso that was just exactly perfect. My wife ordered portobello mushroom fajitas and I settled on a tempeh platter. My platter was loaded with black beans, sweet potatoes, tempeh, greens, corn, and sides of sour cream, guac, and I chose a smoky salsa. With tortillas on hand, I made myself several tacos and they were filled with flavor. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her fajitas. The platter was large enough that I took half of it to work the next day. We were into Atlanta when it got dark and I realized that I left my Rx glasses on the table. My wife called them and they had found them and dropped them in the mail to us, refusing to accept payment for the favor. We will definitely stop back in the next day we breeze through. Thank you, El Rey!
Capn J — Google review
Randomly in town and found this spot. Food was bomb! Service was great! Peach margarita was 10/10! Nachos could feed 3! Multiple tasty salsas. Entrance a bit hidden with trees but they have a funky light arrow situation by the entrance.
Doctor C — Google review
I had a very different experience than most reviewers. First, the atmosphere is great. I loved the shady outside area to include koi fish, although there was an annoyingly loud outside fan. Second, our service was great in that it was fast and responsive. However, they brought out our main course when we had barely started on our appetizer, which meant our food was going to get cold. Our waitress said she would remake the food, which seemed highly wasteful and made me feel guilty. I’m not sure if she actually did remake it or if she just set it under a hot light. Unless a customer asks for items to be served together, it is terrible service to bring them this way. Finally, maybe it is because I grew up in Texas, but I don’t see this food as anything authentic or high end or even that great. The queso sounded good on paper but it had a weird texture and was more cheddary than queso blanco. The fajitas were also quite boring. Fajita meat should consist of skirt steak. The tortillas were also quite meh.
Heather P — Google review
I visited El Rey yesterday before an event that was in the area. There was over an hour wait for the first available table but I got lucky and was able to grab two seats at the bar within 5 minutes. They serve one of the best margaritas I have ever had and they have a great drink menu. I ordered 2 street tacos, chips and queso and my only complaint was that I told them that I was allergic to onions and asked to make sure none would be included with my meal. They had onions in their pico de Gallo and were going to leave that off but forgot. It was a busy night so I just dealt with it and the sweet potato street taco was fabulous. I would not have waited an hour so I am glad I was able to sit at the bar, this is definitely one of the better places to eat in Montgomery.
Scott B — Google review
Fantastic, healthy meal. I was attracted to the fact that they have both tofu and tempeh as protein options. I ordered the Platter with tempeh and it was so good and healthy. It came with sweet potatoes, black beans, rice and guacamole. Yum!! Look how great it looks in that picture.
André M — Google review
A staple of Old Cloverdale, the burrito lounge is a unique but high end take on Tex Mex. Lots of great drinks, and flavors. The rustic outdoor seating can be great at the right times but can occasionally disappoint depending on weather and lighting. This explains the flash needed to photograph my plate. Glad it's been successful for as long as it has and wish then many many more years
Coty H — Google review
We had some fantastic food last weekend. Burrito, a mix of tacos, roasted corn, a mix of chips and dips, margaritas, and tres leches cake!! The bartender knows their stuff and everything was seasoned very well. My favorite was actually the sweet potato taco. It's so good and the goat cheese is a nice addition. Service was also really good as well.
Lauren P — Google review
I love this place. Great vibe, always awesome service. They have a great beer selection. The food is good. The wait can get pretty crazy on the weekend and with large SOS parties. The reliability of a good place with good food and good service in Montgomery can be a challenge, but El Rey pulls it off. Keep up the good work, guys.

Central Restaurant is a sophisticated American dining spot located in the heart of Montgomery's downtown district. Housed in a beautifully renovated 1890s warehouse, the restaurant features an elegant interior with exposed brick, gas lanterns, and a central bar made from reclaimed wood. The open kitchen adds to the ambiance as diners enjoy creative fare crafted by award-winning head chef Leonardo Maurelli.
We used to come here all the time when we lived in Alabama. After being away for 2 and a half years, it's still one of the best restaurants we've been to. They changed their short rib recipe a bit. It's still divine, but we prefer the old recipe
Sam L — Google review
The atmosphere was great and the service was over the top. One of the servers took the time to sing. You’re so beautiful to me for my wife. Overall, that was a great evening. Unfortunately, the food was not up to the hype that I have been given. I would say it was an OK meal but nothing that was not my socks off. We may go back again, but not for sure.
RVPeak — Google review
Incredible experience with Cece on the evening of July 26th! I cannot say enough good things about this establishment. From the service to the ambiance to the perfectly curated menu… absolutely in love with this place! The gas lanterns on the wall and the stunning flower arrangement in the center made for a beautiful setting. The huge light fixtures above us had the perfect amount of light that was calm and not too bright. The staff is so pleasant and makes sure that everything is well cared for. The bartender made a virgin Bloody Mary and it wasn’t an issue which I have ran into in the past at other places I’ve visited. They were very accommodating to anyone with a food allergy. I had the pork tenderloin with a strawberry sauce that was beyond delicious. My sister had the lamb and my dad had the teres major. We had the best desserts here and the presentation for every single plate was top notch. I’ve eaten at Michelin Star restaurants and truly this presentation is up there with the best! You will not be disappointed in your experience here. 12/10
Felicia W — Google review
I have heard of this place for years and finally got the chance to try it. It was good but I wasn't wowed! My ribeye was tasty but under cooked (medium rare and not medium). Although the server was TOP NOTCH, and payed quick attention to the matter, the poorly executed preparation of the ribeye was disappointing. I've had better steaks for MUCH LESS! My friend's short rib over cheese grits was melt in your mouth and fork tender. The grits were tasty as well. The star of the night, was the crispy Brussels Sprouts... better than all the others I will now refer to as copycats out there. The atmosphere is nice if you like the trendy nightclub atmosphere. Our server served up a complimentary strawberry donut (I think it was strawberry. May have been blueberry) It was beautiful to behold, but the bottom was overly charred... 😉 ok, it was burnt. Sorry! I appreciated the gesture and was not about to complain, though... I so wanted to give this one rave reviews and it fell short...
Dianne T — Google review
Great food and a nice atmosphere. I wish I had ordered the ribeye because it looked amazing. I had the salmon and oysters, both nicely done.
Melissa T — Google review
Yes. Yes. YES. Old Boy and Old Girl know their way around a fork, and this is the best meal they've had in recent memory. The pimento cheese oysters, peach and pig salad, teres with elote corn pudding and roasted tomatillo chimichirri, and the halibut w potatoes from heaven in a buerre blanc (IIRC) were all remarkable. As was the damn flourless chocolate cake with cherry, and I don't usually care that much about dessert. The menu was a very defy balance of southern reference and haute technique, without being too precious. Just really great. The room was vibrant and energetic, thoughtfully designed and appropriately atmospheric. One opportunity for improvement is to bring the wait staff up-to-speed on the wine list. There was a mismatch there. "I don't drink red wine" isn't a good answer when a customer asks for a pairing suggestion. But a small thing, really - otherwise lovely service. And a note for travellers: Trilogy Hotel is right across the street. Makes a great one-two punch.
Chris S — Google review
A great spot for an elegant dining experience. We tried quite a few dishes and enjoyed them all. We started with the salmon croquettes appetizer and iceberg wedge salad. Those salmon croquettes are flavored perfectly. My main course was the Olive roasted rack of Lamb, nothing like a rack of lamb. You won’t leave any meat on the bone. The Gochujang rubbed lamb ribs pack some interesting flavor with a spicy kick. Exactly what I was looking for. We couldn’t resist the desserts, so we devoured the ohh so delicious 😋 strawberry donuts dish and the Jake’s Mile high lemon meringue pie. Those strawberry donuts are perfectly crispy on the outside with a warm middle, reminds me of poundcake. I’m addicted for sure. Even my teenagers enjoyed the rack of lamb.
Jeremy B — Google review
It was our first time in Montgomery, and we wanted to try upscale dining that was unique to the city. We started with a glass of Cabernet , which we’d rate 8/10. For starters, we ordered half a dozen oysters—and ended up ordering another half dozen because they were so fresh and delicious. These were the best oysters we’ve had in a while, and the refreshing vinaigrette was the perfect complement. For our main course, we chose the 22-ounce ribeye, Brussels sprouts, and fries, all of which I’d rate 9/10. The steak was cooked to perfection, flavorful without being overly salty. This was exceptional, especially after a string of lackluster dining experiences we’ve had recently. Our waiter, Taemon, was excellent—attentive, personable, and really helped make the evening memorable. The atmosphere is perfect for a date night, group outing, or even solo dining. We brought our two-year-old, which may not be ideal, so I’d recommend this spot more for adults or older children.

The Civil Rights Memorial Center stands as a poignant tribute to the brave individuals who championed civil rights in America. Designed by the acclaimed architect Maya Lin, this remarkable site features a circular black granite table inscribed with the names of those who lost their lives during this pivotal struggle, accompanied by a serene stream of water that flows over it. The adjacent center offers visitors an immersive experience, showcasing stories of civil rights martyrs through informative videos and interactive exhibits.
The Civil Rights Memorial is a thoughtful tribute to the africans who were victims of murdered through legal and illegal lynching. You feel their spirits crying out for justice. I felt the impact even more when I found one of my great granddads' names hanging there. I had no idea how close the injustice was to my family. The Memorial reminded us of all the forgotten african ancestors who were murdered through the injustice of a society that didn't value their lives. A must-see exhibit for those interested in the history of the African in the American South.

Small but memorable. Nicely done exhibits. Friendly staff. Google maps takes you to a locked gate. The actual entrance is around the corner.

While in Montgomery for work, I visited the Civil Rights Memorial the weekend before Election Day, in the heart of the Confederacy, where some monuments still stand. The 'Traveling While Black" exhibit is a virtual reality experience, allowing you to sit in on conversations at Ben's Chili Bowl (a safe haven for Blacks), as we weren't welcomed in restaurants, hotels, gas stations, etc. on our journeys. It'll be open until January. Stirring, haunting presentations of this country's racial struggles were admittedly hard to watch, but this visit was needed. Though hurtful, it's necessary to see where we've come from to forge the path toward equality and justice for ALL. The division I see daily makes me sad for humanity, but I know there is hope. Change starts with ALL OF US. Let's purposely show that we matter to each other!

This is a memorial for all the documented lynchings. And the ones that were not documented. Very beautiful. And knowledgeable as well because everything is in alphabetical order so you can find whatever county in the south and see how they got down in the past. Sad how they did my people and we still have a ways to go
Justin C — Google review
We stopped here on a trip on our way to Florida it was my best friend and my daughters. Beautiful time of reflection. A quite time to honor those who lost their life to make ours better. It did remind me of the memorial that was in Washington DC for the Vietnam vets. I was surprised to see the water coming down the wall as well as the granite fountain with the names on it.

The National Memorial for Peace and Justice, opened in 2018, is a six-acre site dedicated to the victims of racial violence in the United States. It features sculptures, texts, and designs that serve as a poignant introduction to the memorial's mission. The centerpiece of the memorial is comprised of 800 six-foot steel monuments representing lynching victims from 800 counties across the country.
One of the museums that you could visit if you are nearby. Made me think deeper about the historical racial justice issues. I like the design of the museum, the sculptures and memorials were very well designed and they were nice. It was a deep experience, I suggest that you visit with friends and family. Some of the sculptures are really sad and could be hurtful.

A solemn place. Very well designed, Worthy of a landscape architecture design award. The attendants were super helpful. An electric cart was available for those in need. The hill to climb to the art installation was well provided with information tablets of history and facts. The landscape and grounds were very well taken care of. A stellar place of historical information and worthy of a 1-2 hour visit.

Incredibly beautiful memorial to commemorate the horrible injustices and murders of African Americans across the country. Each sculpture represents 1 to 20+ vuctims of lynchings that occured in counties across the nation. Every American needs and should see this memorial.

Incredible. Very powerful and moving. You could spend the whole day between the 3 locations. Review the site for more information, buy tickets ahead of time. The Legacy Museum, located in Montgomery, is a powerful and moving collection that delves into the history of slavery and racial inequality in America. Housed in a converted warehouse near the historic slave market, the museum uses personal accounts, films, photos, and sculpture to recount oral histories and trace institutional racism from the Jim Crow era to present day. It serves as an eye-opening introduction to the nearby National Memorial for Peace and Justice.
You park your car and they will shuttle you to four locations to experience some amazing works of art. Each location tells a true story about the black experience. It's a must see for all ages. Very wheelchair accessible. All of the staff were friendly and very informative.

The Legacy Museum is a treasure chest of Black History! All of the museum guides were courteous and helpful! The Memorial Garden has both indigenous and African art. There was so much to see that it started raining and we couldn't see it all! That makes it so much easier to go back and finish the tour! The most fun part was the shuttle bus rider named Stan Washington! He was GOAT tour provider! Thanks again Stan!

One of the best museums that I’ve ever had the pleasure of visiting. The staff at the museum are all very professional and friendly. The museum is immaculate and the price for admission is very reasonable. You are not allowed to take pictures in the museum which was fine because I was so impressed, I purchased 3 books, 3 tee shirts, a hoodie, ornaments and a magnet. We also had a wonderful tour guide Ann Clemons. The tour did get quite emotional for me at one point and I was glad that they have benches to sit. The art in the museum is breathtaking and the history behind the stories can get overwhelming at times, but I was comfortable at being uncomfortable. The pictures that I’ve posted are from the park across the street from the museum. The other pictures are from The National Museum for Peace and Justice. A very solemn visit but one that is a necessity. The visit to Freedom Monument Sculpture Park was breathtaking and beautiful. If you ever get a chance to go to Montgomery,AL please visit these and the other museums in and around Montgomery. I will go back again.

If I could give six stars, I would. This museum, the best museum I've ever encountered in my 75 years of life, is one of three Legacy sites, all of which are able to be entered on the same $5 ticket. Visitors are lovingly held and invited into a profoundly intense and moving history of racism, white supremacy, and black resilience in the United States. The exhibits are truthful and rightfully elicit discomfort and even deep grief, for both black and white visitors. All the exhibits are based on data, and are highly creative and artistic. Those that demonstrate how black people survived and persisted are especially inspiring. I also can't say enough good about the staff, from the registrars to the docents to the restroom attendants to the shuttle attendants. In every case they were loving, kind, eager to help, and grateful for our visit to this world class museum. There is a soul food restaurant and a gift shop on site in the museum. A free shuttle will transport visitors between the three sites: Museum, Lynching Memorial Park, and the Sculpture Park. The Museum is the only indoor venue. The Equal Justice Initiative (EJI), which is the organization behind the Legacy sites, has just opened their own hotel, called Elevation Hotel, which is also served by the shuttle. These photos include those taken at the Lynching Memorial Park. Photos are not allowed inside the museum.

Oh my goodness - the Legacy Museum was an absolutely stunning Museum that I will never forget. The exhibits were phenomenal, thought-provoking, disturbing, informative, and educational. The Legacy Museum does not allow visitors to take pictures or videos inside, but trust me that visitors will find the exhibits within the Museum emotional and unforgettable.

What an eye-opening experience! I wanted to cry. We've all been lied to about the true history of our African American friends and neighbors. The museum is beautiful and full of information. Every school child in the United States needs to come here to learn the truth.

Loved it, didn't understand 'no water bottles' when we would be outside, in the middle of the summer, but there was someone offering cold water halfway through. It's amazing to me the people talking about the 'incorrect' history as if they were there. My 9, 23 and 25 year old daughters, as well as my 12 year old niece enjoyed it. There were a bunch of field trips on the day we arrived but I found out that the tickets don't expire, so we'll be back for the boat ride. I understand no photos, be in the moment.

Not only an incredible, experiential museum with multiple exhibits and sites , but also inspiring . Anyone who wants a deeper view of history and our present plight should visit this extraordinary space as soon as humanly possible. Welcoming and helpful staff, affordable pricing and surrounded by numerous Civil Rights memorials in Montgomery. Don’t miss it - just go.

The Hank Williams Museum, located in downtown Montgomery, is a heartfelt tribute to the legendary country music star. The museum showcases an extensive collection of memorabilia, including instruments, iconic clothing, and personal artifacts belonging to Hank Williams. One of the highlights is the baby-blue 1952 Cadillac in which Williams was riding when he tragically passed away. Visitors can also explore galleries filled with vinyl records, guitars, and costumes that belonged to the beloved musician.
What a great concentrated tribute to the great country singer Hank Williams. The space is full of clothing, trivia, displays, and photos of Hank, his family, and his fellow musicians. Beth, the daughter of the couple who started thus museum 25 years ago, is passionate about the museum and Hank. She offered several stories, and details that enhanced my already awesome experience. Wheel chair accessible with heavy front door. Signage is readable not counting handwritten items that are authentic--even one letter was expanded to a larger size. Great tribute to a great talent, his music, his family, his peers, and his passing.

This was an unexpected surprise along our route. Do not follow the signs on I-65 as they are incorrect for the museum. If you love country music, it's a must. If you love music, you will be educated on all things Hank Williams Sr. This is a small museum. However, it is packed with great insight. When you leave the museum stop and get a snapshot of his statue in town and then a short ride to pay your respects at the cemetary.

This is a great little museum with tons of items. Clothes, posters, instruments, and the crowning glory The Cadillac! I liked that they had items of Audrey's and his friends and bandmates too. The staff was really great. A must see in Montgomery.

So many items of Hank Williams, family and friends. Car where he passed away. Many photos, records, and clothing. A must see if you are in the area. Thanks Mrs Beth for taking our photo and all you do to make our visit great memories.

Staff was incredibly nice and helpful. Museum is a main Street cash grab that I didn't feel bad about spending $15 for. Lot of family donated items. It's a "no photography or videography" place so that's lame, it's 2025 let me give you some publicity (however the cashier did offer to take my picture standing in front of Hanks Cadillac). Gift shop prices were rather affordable compared to most. If you are a die hard fan I would go check it out. But if there is a bus load of you I'd suggest one go in and then come out and tell the group what they say 😂. Nothing groundbreaking.

If you love classic country and Hank Williams Sr. This museum is a must see. Great gift shop up front as well. You really step into Luke The Drifter’s life once inside.

An amazing collection of an artist whose life was cut short at such an early age. His suits, hats, car and so much more. I was pleasantly surprised this museum had so much of Hank’s things. Well worth the stop before we went to his gravesite. If you’re fan, it’s a must. If you love country music, stop in and walk through. The museum itself is not big but the collection sure is!

Riverfront Park in Montgomery is a popular riverside compound offering a variety of attractions and activities. Situated on the banks of the Alabama River, it features an amphitheater hosting concerts and plays, as well as a boat ramp for river access, paved trails for hiking and biking, green picnic areas, a playground for kids, and opportunities for kayaking and fishing. Visitors can also enjoy baseball games at Riverwalk Stadium or take a riverboat cruise on the Harriott II.
Lovely park with scenic river views and a calm atmosphere. Perfect for walking, relaxing, or enjoying the riverboat.

Despite the overcast skies and a chill in the air, it was the ideal day for a stroll along the Riverwalk. The area was maintained well. We spotted dog owners enjoying the fresh air with their furry companions and a handful of boaters on the water. Our little adventure took a delightful turn when we stumbled upon a quirky bar—just follow the music! The atmosphere was great, and they served an intriguing THC-infused drink that caught me completely off guard—who knew such a thing existed? 🍻 What a fun twist to our day! Cheers!

I enjoyed my walk through. Was in Montgomery for training and I had a few minutes. So, I parked and explored. I walked through the tunnel. and noticed that some of the original buildings were renovated along with the train station. Got some great pics. Then continud on to the river. This is a great area to visit. There is a nature trail attached to this site. Two hotel chains near by within walking distance, and a bar and amphitheatre . But the prize is the Rover boat Harriet that greets you are coming out of the tunnel and the mighty Alabama River. Check out my pics, there are a few where the original bank used to be compared to now. That may put mighty on to perspective. You also get a brief history also. Will be back for a River boat ride!

In addition to its American art collection, the museum also has an exhibit showcasing regional artists as well as self-taught artists with a large quilt collection.
What a great experience! There are permanent and temporary exhibits along with a section for the kiddos to enjoy and create their own art. The museum is clean, quiet, and filled with a variety of art from sculptures to oil paints to hand blown glass. Definitely recommend visiting if you are in or around the area!

This is one of my favorite places to visit when I need to clear my mind. The art museum is free to enter and has a peaceful, thoughtful atmosphere with an impressive collection. I love spending quiet time here just walking through the exhibits and taking everything in. Right outside, there’s a large park with beautiful views and a relaxing vibe. You’ll often see ducks and turtles moving around the water — it adds so much life and charm to the space. Altogether, it’s a perfect combination of art, nature, and calm. Highly recommend if you’re nearby.

Excellent art museum. The facility is upscale in all respects. At entry, a staff member was very informative about the various galleries within the museum. We went on a weekday morning. There were a couple of school field trips but not disruptive to our experience in the least. Was impressed observing museum staff interacting with the children. Such a great cultural opportunity that is FREE!

Capitol Oyster Bar is a hidden gem overlooking the Alabama River, offering classic seafood dishes and regular live music. Despite occasional slow service and order mix-ups, it's considered the best-kept secret in Montgomery for its beachfront restaurant vibe. Visitors can savor fresh oysters on the half shell or Cajun-seasoned Royal Red shrimp while enjoying expansive views from the back deck.
A little hidden gem. I have to say that the Fried Catfish was so very tasty. Not dry and rubbery like some places I've had. Their Gumbo smelled Devine! The establishment was small but quaint. It felt comfortable. There is even outdoor seating available. It was very layed back and casual. The only issue I have is that the side of hushpuppies was 2 small Hush Puppies. I am not aure that is enough. Maybe like 5 or 2 bigger hush puppies. Oh and the staff is wonderful. Very helpful, very knowledgeable about the menu and ingredients in each dish. They were very busy but our waitress never missed a beat. She constantly checked on our table of 10. Bravo 👏 We will be going back.
Maddy T — Google review
Cute place but would only return for the water front seating. The food was either super good or left on the plate due to flavor or cooking style. The okra has pokey stuff in it that got stuck in my throat and the rice pilaf left a lot to be desired. The gator bites and the corn balls were a standout though. Notes: You cannot be seated until your whole party is there. Huge parking lot but lots of pot holes so slow down as you come towards it. Google will try to send you through a trailer park, instead keep driving straight when it wants to to turn in. It will reroute you.

$14 gets you SIX pieces of shrimp. The fried shrimp platter came with two sides (I got double fries) and two (small) hush puppies. The food itself wasn’t bad, though I didn’t care for the batter on the shrimp. I just can’t get over the fact that a $14 platter gets you six small to medium shrimps. I definitely left hungry.
Samantha B — Google review
The breading on the shrimp, oysters was crispy and great flavor. Large shrimp, great cocktail sauce and tartar sauce. Good view of the river from deck which is built around trees. The unique corn ribs had good flavor. The deck and windows Need a good cleaning but the food is good.

Our waitress was very nice and had a great sense of humor. Everything was cooked properly, had good flavor and not stingy with the portions. Lol We sat out on the patio and had a nice little breeze on a hot day. They also have fans mounted and adjustable to make it more pleasant on those hot hot days. This is the second time I have been there; but the first was several years ago. I had the whole catfish and loved it. 🤘

Most authentic atmosphere possible. Down home like Nana's kitchen! Servers are friendly treat you like family. Mfood might be slower but it is fresh and amazing with good portions. The gator bites and shrimp poppers are amazing! I got the soft shell crab poboy and it was great! Grouper looked great too!

Everything I ordered was as it should be and tasty. The gumbo is a blonde roux with lots of different seafood in it and sausage. It was very good. The only thing that I dinged the food for was that my catfish the crust of fell off of it still extremely good though but I like my crust on it, lol

It was wonderful! We had a family reunion here. It was wonderful to see all the history and pictures. We even bought things from their gift shop! The lady in the gift shop was so nice. They have a playground for the kids and a picnic table in the back. They also have tours you can take to see some of the old historic houses. I did see them, but I would like to go back and see them. We had a room that we used for our family reunion that they rented out.

My mother in law wanted to go here for Mother’s Day so we went early on a Saturday morning. We were the only ones there besides another couple at opening. The man running the ticketing booth was extremely knowledgeable and kind. They had the sweetest dog there too. Admission is a somewhat high at $15 per person, but this includes a tour and numerous print outs if you decide to self-guide. We spent around 3.5 hours exploring and opted to do the 11 am tour. We were the only ones there so we had opportunities to ask extra questions. Our guide was courteous and knowledgeable! There are numerous buildings and a garden to explore after the tour. My one advice is to BRING BUG SPRAY. There were more mosquitos than I could even begin to count or fend off!

Found this place on the map during a road trip. I'm soooo happy I did. Everyone that worked there was so nice and packed full of knowledge. The homes and businesses were absolutely amazing. What a wonderful way to step back into time and see things I've never had the opportunity to see in my lifetime. The fact that they could preserve the homes and the artifacts inside is absolutely a treasure. Such a wonderful thing they are doing. If you are passing through town you have to make your way here. It does cost money but not much and I promise it's so worth it. Plus your money is going to a good cause which is keeping that stuff open to the public. During school hours they do get busy with childrens tours. We went in July. It was super hot but we had the whole place to ourselves. Highly recommend you checking this out.

Place was great. Very interactive and it's so well maintained. The idea of walking around into these places/ buildings is so much better than seeing pictures on a wall. The playground is also great and big enough to let the kids run around awhile. One of the best kids playground I've ever seen!

Bias Warning: My mother is honored in the museum. Okay, so my mother is a Freedom Rider and if you're a museum and are going to say nice things about her then you're going to get a good review (plus they had us come and speak). The museum is small but so was the bus station it is situated in. The staff knows their stuff and the museum itself is packed full of content. It's an important museum that deserves your time and attention. While you're visiting all the other sites in Montgomery don't forget this museum. It's a critical piece of American and Civil Rights history.

A nice little compact museum located in the actual Greyhound building where the bombing took place. No photos are allowed inside and the entire museum only took me about one hour to get through. One side is full of artwork and on the other side there are exhibits. Groups can request an informative talk by a member of staff (must be arranged in advance). Staff members are very friendly and knowledgeable.

Great experience to stand where history was made. We were there for the unveiling of several new exhibits. We actually sang with James Lawson Jr. one of the original Freedom Riders! Wonderful experience, great people act worth the price of admission. I was a guest of the Lewis family which made the experience that much more historic. It's a must visit if your into history... It's closed on Sunday so we were only able to walk around the outside of the museum. Despite being closed, there was a ton of information posted outside the building. It's well worth the stop to learn the details of such historic events and such brave and selfless people. We also stopped by the Baptist Church where the Freedom Riders hid after the initial attack. It's only a few minutes away.

Excellent anniversary dinner experience! We enjoyed every minute with our amazing server, Isaac. He was so personable and attentive, timing everything perfectly throughout our meal. We ordered the Purveyor old fashions for pre-dinner cocktails, enjoyed the buttery grilled oysters for appetizer and shared the fantastic rack of lamb and blackened cobra entrees. The food was perfectly cooked and deliciously seasoned. Hats off to the chef too! Dessert was a delectable chocolate bread pudding with vanilla ice cream. The ambience was very nice with dimmed lighting and softly playing music in the background. The single rose in a bud vase was the perfect table decor. Our sweet note was a nice finishing touch. Thank you Isaac! Thoroughly enjoyed our evening here, highly recommend and will definitely return.

One of the more fine dining options in Montgomery, I have put off the trying Vintage Year for a while because I was worried it might not live up to the hype or be worth the money. On a spontaneous date night we went full send with a four course meal and cocktails. Everything was spectacular and the service was top notch. We didn't need a reservation on a Wednesday night. The salad and the filet were both amazing. I hate how much I enjoyed it because I will be back soon, everything was great. Isaac was our server and he's great at his job. Revisited for our anniversary and Joshua took great care of us. Everything was great and worth every cent.

Everything about Vintage Year is absolutely stunning! The decor is classy and not over done, the service is attentive, professional and very knowledgeable and the food is perfectly divine! We started with the Yellowfin Tuna which just melts in your mouth then shared the Passion Fruit Salad which was the daily special salad. It was definitely special, those passion pearls were fun and delicious! Our entrees were just as spectacular as the appetizers! Perfectly cooked filet and sweet buttery crab cakes made the entire meal unforgettable. Definitely worth the visit and will return when we're traveling through again!

Really enjoyed our meal here! Would love to come back. Husband chose the restaurant for date night and I initially was nervous because I’m pregnant and picky now. But I liked my duck, the waiter suggested I get it “well done”, I’d like to come back and try it the chefs way. Well done was a bit tougher than I like. The cake was amazing! They also had a watermelon mint mocktail and I really appreciated that! As an appetizer we had the oysters, I honestly could have had more, maybe after I have this baby. The atmosphere is very “downtown” they have indoor and outdoor dining. Also a large party room. The wait staff is helpful and attentive.

While reservations are recommended, our group of 4 out of towners was seated promptly without one. The food overall had wonderful flavor minus a touch of seasoning. My only complaint was that I found the root vegetables (carrots with the scallops and sweet potatoes with the salad) to be cooked inconsistently. While some were the perfect consistency others felt a little undercooked. Other than that, the cocktails, charcuterie with cheese, scallops, and strawberry olive oil short cake were all lovely. Additonally, our server was attentive and ensured we were well taken care of even as the restaurant filled up.This place is a hidden gem in an area that seems to be lacking fine dining options.

Had a perfect breakfast here while on our way to the National Memorial for Peace and Justice. Perfect, soft, fluffy eggs, deeply crisp bacon and a drop biscuit as good as any I’ve ever eaten, including my Aunt Anita’s! Coffee was also excellent - smooth, mild and frequently topped off. Had chicken and waffles the day before - way more food than I could eat at lunch but unbelievably tender and juicy. Add a biscuit and get the Bramble Jam - yum!!! At the moment they are open only on Saturday and Sunday but definitely worth a visit, maybe even both days!

I forgot to post what my husband had got because I was so hungry but my food was pretty good just needed some seasoning. The staff was nice and friendly, only thing that threw it off was the menu wasn't updated. They had food on there that they weren't even making or serving but it's a nice place to go for a early breakfast/brunch. Low-key expensive as well

(Sunday Brunch) It seemed like they were understaffed for the day. Nice waitress but it just felt like she was having to do a lot & couldn’t check up on patrons. We received our food about 12 mins after ordering. It was mid. The best thing on my plate was the biscuit. It wasn’t bad but the menu said “southern” and I was expecting more flavor. The music playlist was good too but we won’t be back.

We were immediately greeted when we entered. You order at the counter. Food was brought out very quickly. The shrimp and grits is a must for brunch. Biscuits and gravy were just okay in my opinion. Coffee wasn't great, but it was hot and had caffeine. Chicken and waffles were average. The waffle was similar in consistency to Waffle House. Staff recommended the shrimp and grits, chicken and waffle, and the smash burger. We did not try the burger. Overall, the food was good, but not great. The service was good and we enjoyed our meal.

This is a cute little place with great atmosphere. We didn't dine in, but it looked like a great place to do so. The food? Delicious. Took one star from the food score because the macaroni tasted a little bland to me, but my husband liked it. So I guess give it a shot. I had the catfish, hush puppies, mac, and fried green tomatoes (which were INCREDIBLE). Even tasted good as leftovers. Highly recommend.
Geneva M — Google review
We were incredibly disappointed with this visit, especially after seeing such great reviews online. Food was incredibly bland all around. Meatloaf sandwich was not tasty, fried green tomatoes were disappointing, pimento grilled cheese was somehow cold in the middle. We ordered drinks, got them, and drank them just to be told after that the soda machine isn’t working today. Didn’t have momma sauce. Stopped serving breakfast for literally the crappiest lunch on our road trip… I understand a short staff but this was honestly gross.

Yum yum yum yum. Super good, our food came out fast, even though the drinks are self served the staff still came to the table often and it was nice. I loved it. I ordered the meat loaf sandwich, my wife had the big burger and my daughter had the chicken strips. We split some fried green tomatoes. Everyone loved their food. The price was great too, all of us food and drinks under 28 bucks. Stop in a visit these guys. You wont regret it!

Amazing cozy place to grab brunch downtown! Menu is simple and reasonably priced. Food made with all fresh ingredients and came out quickly. The atmosphere is very relaxing. Ms. Janet was so sweet and attentive. You gotta try the sweet tea!! It was out of this world. We’ll be back. 😀

Amazing service and delicious food. We went and even though it was busy they took care of us fast and our food came out at the perfect time. Definitely worth driving to try it! Muy delicioso y auntentico sabor venezolano.

If you're looking for something a little different, wonderful, and a delight to your taste buds, well, D'Road Cafe is the place you've been searching for. I can't believe I've waited so long to try this place! I've heard nothing great things about the place, and now I personally know why! It was very unassuming on the outside, yet beautiful and charming on the inside. I was greeted with warmth and a smile. My food was hot and absolutely amazing, from the tender brisket and black beans, perfectly scrambled eggs, to the best plantains I've had in a long while. I will definitely be back for more. I encourage everyone, if you haven't already, to give it a try. You'll be pleasantly full, this I can truthfully say!

The food was delicious and the dining experience was closer to eating with extended family than at a restaurant. I spoke with Janet, the cook, and she is as amazing as her food. We dined in during the hot bar and tried everything available and nothing disappointed. Was my first visit, but I intend to be a regular.

The Rosa Parks Museum, situated on the campus of Troy University in downtown Montgomery, is a high-tech and interactive museum that chronicles the events surrounding the Montgomery Bus Boycott. The museum features a children's wing and offers a virtual tour experience. Visitors can explore various exhibits, including original works of art, a replica city bus with interactive videos and displays, and a restored 1955 station wagon used during the Civil Rights Movement.
Great experience. Even if you think you know the history, I highly recommend visiting this museum. They did a PHENOMENAL JOB of presenting actual documents throughout the museum. Police records, recorded voices of those presenting & a raw view of hatred.

Visiting the Rosa Parks Museum in Montgomery was an educational and meaningful experience. The exhibits not only taught me more about local history but also stirred personal memories of walking the streets of the South as a youth. The museum does a wonderful job of preserving stories and moments that connect past and present. It’s a place that invites both learning and reflection, and I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to better understand the richness and resilience of Southern history and culture.

A very nice museum to visit right in the heart of historic downtown Montgomery. Very interactive with informative exhibits and lots of reading. You can walk down the street to see the actual place Rosa Parks boarded the bus and where she got arrested. I went during the week and there were busloads of school kids and very busy. I definitely recommend all ages visit!

Beautiful experience. Amazing how 1 person could make such a difference. Lovely art works and gift shop.

The Rosa Parks Museum is one of those places that stays with you long after you leave. Being in the spot where Rosa Parks took her stand makes the history feel immediate, and the exhibits bring the story to life in a way that’s both moving and unforgettable. It shows how one act of courage became the spark for real change, and it leaves you with a deeper respect for the struggle and the strength of the people who carried it forward. If you’re in Montgomery, this is a stop you shouldn’t miss.
David A — Google review
Wonderful exhibit. Talk a walk in the footsteps of the civil rights movement. Informative and entertaining. Something for everyone. Reasonably priced for both museums together and I definitely recommend to do both for the full story.
Marnie S — Google review
Awesome little history nook, learned so much not taught in history books. My wife and I loved it. The bus scene made it incredible. The architects of this tour knew how to captivate this audience and lead them down the road of the timeline.

It was a good visit. It's a museum that is affiliated with Troy University. It's located at their downtown campus, and was built on the site where Rosa Parks was arrested for refusing to give up her seat to a white man. The updated reenactment is awesome along with the other displays. The gift shop is awesome also. Had a blast.

Nestled in the vibrant heart of Montgomery, The Exchange Bar is a sleek hotel bar that invites you to unwind and indulge. With its warm decor and inviting atmosphere, this popular spot serves up delicious American bites alongside an impressive selection of craft beers and specialty cocktails. As the workday wraps up, the iconic antique bell rings at 5:00 PM, signaling the start of a lively evening filled with camaraderie and entertainment.
I frequent this place weekly...Thursday nights from 5 to 10pm they have live performance by Eric Perkins and Aleta Davis. It is the highlight of my week. The live music is engaging, the food is really good (especially the wings and flatbread pizza). There is usually line dancing and crowd participation.. most nights there is a live performer in different genres like country and blues.. the servers can be slow at times and you may have difficulty getting in your order. Just go to the bar and order everything. You get it much more quickly. I highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Montgomery for the first time or for locals who want a relaxing, safe environment to enjoy drinks and have conversation.
DeShaun B — Google review
The bar offers a nice atmosphere and the service is amazing. Had to take a star (and a half) because the drinks are good, but pricing is a bit high. It is a hotel bar in the downtown area, so I suppose it is to be expected.
Tiffany W — Google review
One of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. Upon arrival, I was very impressed because the restaurant was clean and it has a nice ambiance. The service was very slow. Our server Adisha had little interaction with us, she didn't ask us if we liked the food, and it took her forever to get our payment once she delivered the check. I think she has the potential to be good but customer service training is needed. My burger was cold and it wasn't fully cooked😡😣 She didn't make a fuss about it, she took it off without a problem. Instead of paying $18 here for a cheeseburger and fries we should've just gone to Five Guys. Going out to eat is just not the same anymore.
T L — Google review
The website states opening hours is 4, but they don't open till 4:30. We were told we could pick a table outside and the server would come out and wipe the table down, and she would bring us water. After waiting a while, we decided we would probably get quicker service inside. So we went in and sat at the bar. As I sat down, I notice sticky stains on the bar. As they had just opened, I guess that was left over from the night besfore. We ordered cheese sticks to start. When we received our order, the cheese sticks were not cooked enough. They were cold and the cheese was not melted. Also, the marinara sauce was cold. I would not go back, especially at their prices. Considering this place is part of the Renaissance hotel, I expected more.
Tina B — Google review
The Exchange is an excellent place to unwind either after work or after a long day spent attending conference sessions. With live music most every night, great drinks and quality food — you'll enjoy your evening at The Exchange in Downtown Montgomery.
Bryan C — Google review
Worst experience ever! Bartenders need serious training on customer service. Not smart to allow money to walk out the door! I think his name was Stevenson, what a jerk! Totally ignored me for several minutes goofing off with his friends at the bar. Didn’t acknowledge me until I got up to leave and trust to ask me was I good? Will never be back to this bar EVER!

Annette the waitress is awesome love her customer service 👍👍👍👍👍👍 Was at the Exchange bar Sept 4... Customer service horrible nobody asked if I needed help. I WAS TOLD BY ONE OF THE SERVERS IF I NEED HELP I would have to go to the bar and get it myself WOW‼️‼️‼️ WHERE IS ANNETTE WE NEED HER BAD..

The Aviator Bar is a DC themed bar with aviation memorabilia and WWII Army decor. It's a great place to get a drink and enjoy the downtown atmosphere!
I had a blast at the Aviator Bar! The atmosphere is incredible, with WWII Army & flight decor everywhere. It's like stepping back in time. The drinks are top-notch, and the service is friendly and attentive. It's a great place to meet up with friends or go on a date. The only downside is that it can get pretty busy, especially on weekends. Some of the things I loved about the Aviator Bar: * The military decor is amazing. It's everywhere, from the walls to the tables to the bar itself. * The drinks are delicious. They have a wide variety of cocktails, beers, and wines to choose from. * The service is great. The bartenders are friendly and attentive, and they know how to make a good cocktail. * The atmosphere is fun. It's a great place to relax and enjoy a drink with friends. Overall, I highly recommend the Aviator Bar. It's a great place to have a good time and experience a bit of military history.
Mike D — Google review
The Aviator Bar is an awesome bar. It is as much an aviation museum as it is a bar. As you enter, you are in the actual bar section, but as you continue to walk the building, you find many cove-like areas that are sectioned off like little rooms that are social areas with chairs, couches and coffee tables. The areas are stuffed full of aviation books, manuals, pictures, and a mega amount of memorabilia. The building is adorned with a huge collection of various models of all types of aircraft. It is an amazing collection of art and memorabilia. The bar is hosted by friendly and easy on the eye, quality bartendresses. Service is quick and professional. Food is not served here. They have a wide variety of libations to quench your thirst. The night we visited was karaoke night with a good crowd, but not an overwhelming amount of people. This place is fun, educational, and interesting. If you are an aviator or just love aviation, it is the place to visit. A good time was had by all!

Where do I start, me and 2 of my colleagues are in Alabama from Canada to work for 2 weeks and decided we wanted to try out Aviator because it looked like it had a cool decor of old war memorabilia , when we arrived K.C greeted us with a smile and great conversation, treated us like royalty and took good care of us, we even got him to punch the punching bag game in the back with us. Gave us some tips about where is good to eat and we couldn't have had a better time because of him. Thanks K.C You are the best!

I think it was Monday night I witnessed the bartender verbally attack a customer. The customer was a young lady who had 3 drinks in her. The bar tender kept asking her if she had her phone over and over. She finally told him not to worry about her phone. He then verbally assaulted her and tried to embarrass her in front of her friend. He even mocked her for giving a homeless guy cigarettes. For me, bartenders need more self control and they need to be a source of comfort and safety. I wouldn't spend a dime on a drink with that guy there. I would like to manager to investigate this.

To the little girl “working” the bar on 9/15/25- you need to learn customer service 101. We came in. There was ONE person at the we bar. We were immediately ignored because some guy brought in pizza. Then a couple came in and sat at the end of the bar where she proceeded to serve them first then chit chatted THEN ignored us again for someone else’s order. We waited so long we just left. Completely rude and pathetic “service”. I’ve never had to leave a bar where I couldn’t get service with literally 3 people at the bar.

I love this place! Great spot for casual dining / hanging outside / live music. Family friendly. I do wish there were more vegetarian options, but they at least offer several vegetarian (and delicious) dips as well as a cheese pizza.

This restaurant is a Montgomery tradition and renowned by locals for great food and service for a reasonable value. No reservations on weekends so plan accordingly. Everything on the menu is good but I like their onion rings, crab claws and West Indies salad for appetizers. I favor their Steaks and seafood for entrees. Their green salad is fresh The kids menu is one of the best in MGM for quality and value.

Great little find. Was just driving through Montgomery and looking for something new. My wife had the smash burger, I had the crawfish pork sausage and the Hummus dish with veggies. Also, I had one of the best old fashions I've ever had. Server promised me i wouldn'tbe disappointed, He wasn't wrong. Tap beer selection was on point, wasn't over run by the social media craze ipas, seltzers, and sours. Actuallyhad some good beers. The atmosphere was fun and inviting with a great outdoor area. Overall fun place with plenty of food, wine, cocktail and beer options that's also kid, pet friendly.

I have always enjoyed tipping point and tonight was great. The service was great and even the owners were out waiting tables and taking care of their customers. I had a Brooklyn bap sandwich and that was delicious. A drink and a couple shots. It was quiet and personal the way I like my bars. Go for food and have some drinks it's a great place to start a night out.
Coty H — Google review
Horrible service sat down at the outside bar with me and my wife. The bartender was standing right there didn’t ask us if we wanted something to drink or place an order just walked off. Didn’t come back for 15 minutes. Walked into Main bar got two beers came back and sat there. He walked over closes out a tab then walks off never came back for 30 minutes. I asked for the owner. It was an old lady. She said she was the owner, but she didn’t act like one she just kept saying they were understaffed I said what does that have to do with a bartender at the point of contact with the customer asking them would they like to place an order or get a drink? She was very unapologetic. I told her if she was in Orlando, where I live. I have a house here as well. She wouldn’t be in business. The only reason she is because there’s nowhere else to go with Montgomery.. But having said that we went to the taco bar and the sushi box and had great service. This place sucks! She post saying we’re understaffed and don’t expect good service…
L E — Google review
Great atmosphere, great beer selection, great service! The beers they carry are delicious and varied. The menu isn't robust, but the three things we had were all top notch. Don't let the simplicity turn you away. Definitely recommend the Phil Pretzel. Definitely recommend the hummus. Amanda was great. We'll be back!
Matthew V — Google review
Have tried this place multiple times and each time the service has been well below average … we kept trying to give it another chance, but it seems that there needs to be a very in depth customer service training for this staff. No one checking in on customers. No one coming to take your order. Multiple people around us asking if we have had anyone help us both inside and outside because no one helped them. Standing for 25+ minutes waiting to close a tab right at the bar and can’t get anyone to close us out. Food was good the one time we actually were able to get someone to take our order. Unfortunately, I don’t think we will try this spot again.

Great location sitting on a hill overlooking Montgomery downtown, ASU, the river, and the rest of the city -views for days! We stayed in the Airbnb located right on the 2nd floor of the house. The host had all the necessities and more in the room, and he was very attentive. Coming downstairs to the bar with food and drinks was so convenient. We had such an amazing opportunity to be able to share great conversation with the owner and business partners themselves, listening to where Goat Haus started and where it's headed, their community outreach, and the influence and opportunities they extend for the local community. I've been going for a few years now. The bartenders make some great drinks, and they have DJs most weekends. The inside is very warming. What was once one of the hottest bars in town is now sort of an average night out. A lot of the things that made it unique are now an after thought. It is attached to Aviator and Commerce Beer works and this means that because CBW sometimes has live music you pay a cover to get in no matter which bar you're drinking at. Often one of the three bars is packed and the other two are not. It also tends to leave it's area of the alley littered with cigarettes. If you have never been by all means check it out.
Coty H — Google review

Nice place with friendly and quick service. It was pretty empty for a Friday night, tho. It's a pretty big space with the front and back halves divided. The front is just a bar with some tables. The back half has a stage for a live band and a couple of Cornhole boards.

The music is terrible, and the drinks are okay. Every so often it has it's nights but usually it's pretty boring. If you're looking for fun, this is not the bar for you. But if you just want to sit down and buy slightly overpriced drinks, then this is the bar for you. I hate to say it but racism still exists. One night I had to wait like 30 minutes before I got served. One of the bartenders looked me dead in the face while I had money in my hand trying to get his attention. He served everybody other race except me. I had to wait for another guy to finally come and decide to serve me. Some of the bartenders are nice though, and some are just rude.

Awesome atmosphere and surprisingly modern. Amazing Bar and staff, they agreed to let my university’s association of former students put on a Yell Practice before we BTHO Auburn the next day. Good drinks and even better conversation.
Connor A — Google review
Hot, humid, and long times to get drinks. Also, the ice bar has not been in operation the past couple years I've been there. Owner, please make sure the ice bar is operational during major events when Joan brings her 100 person crew to the Alley every August.
M L — Google review
The service was okay, at best...until the waitress served everyone a drink, with the exception of mine. It was brought to her attention that she didn't give me my ordered drink...wasn't aware of her audience...very bad trait for a waitress to have. Next, it was hella hot inside the bar, #1 during hot days and evenings, especially when you are providing a service to someone, YOU DO NOT HAVE YOUR GUEST SWEATING IN YOUR ESTABLISHMENT! not good...empty...the music was ok....no energy throughout the bar. May drink was good

Nestled in the heart of downtown, The Alley is a vibrant hub that beautifully blends history with modern charm. This revitalized area features repurposed buildings that exude a vintage ambiance, complemented by minimalist decor and an inviting atmosphere. Visitors can indulge in delightful culinary experiences at popular spots like SaZa Italian and Jalapenos while enjoying live music wafting through the air from nearby venues.
This is a very large venue for events. Attended a wedding reception and the room was large and roomy. Food was furnished by family of the bride. Not able to rate the food- service- atmosphere.

What a great collection of restaurants and entertainment all in one place. We had a great time with plenty to see and do since we were in the heart of downtown. So much is within walking distance.

Pool hall
Deja Vu Billiards is a popular spot with a chill vibe, making it perfect for playing pool, hanging out, and even enjoying karaoke on Saturday nights. It's highly recommended for its great food, drinks, and friendly atmosphere. The place is known for its excellent customer service and as a safe environment for everyone to enjoy. Whether you're looking to have fun with friends or meet new people, Deja Vu Billiards offers a welcoming experience that's appreciated by many.
I was there this Saturday and the DJ was amazing. It was great to get out of the house. There was no cover. I even met the owner she was not just sitting back and watching. When she noticed tables needed to be cleaned she got her hands dirty. Even noticed her dragging trash cans out. The crowd was chill and plenty of elbow space. I will definitely be back.
Jessica T — Google review
I have been playing pool in Montgomery for several years and when you play pool with APA you only have 3 pool halls to choose from during my time. I used Deja Vu as my home pool hall for several years, but in the last 6 months there has been a decline in the level of service and the general upkeep of the establishment. In October of 2023, a competing bar went smoke free, so I switched for health reasons. Deja Vu used to let me bring my own water cup inside, but I was told that was against the health code, which I know is not true, since I worked for public health and fact checked their comment. I still have to play her occasionally, but I miss the positive vibes, good food and bartenders that would greet you by name.

Live music venue
Rock Bottom American Pub is a local favorite, offering classic American comfort food and a lively atmosphere. The pub features multiple TVs for sports enthusiasts, live music performances, and pool tables for entertainment. Despite some past legal issues, patrons have praised the venue's good value and tasty traditional dishes. The attentive service from friendly staff members like Alley has left a positive impression on visitors, making it a go-to spot for both locals and those willing to travel long distances for events or concerts.
Attended the Avatar concert here. I read previous reviews and didn't know what to expect. I have to say my experience was great. The waitress Alley, was excellent. She was very friendly and my wife and I never had to ask for anything because she checked on us a lot. The staff that I had contact with was nice as well. Enjoyed the venue very much and will gladly drive 2 hours again to see another show here.
J M — Google review
I've always loved this place! When I've eaten here, the food has been good, for a good value... Lots of "traditional" meat and three's. Personally, I've never had an issue with the service. Typically, service was TOO good. Servers and bar tenders would have my drinks ready just as I was finishing my last. Due to a move east, I'm no longer a "regular", but whenever I get a free night in "The Gump", Rock Bottom is ALWAYS my favorite hang out spot!
Aaron D — Google review
Terrible service. We had a large party of about 8-10 the place was pretty empty but the host said that a lot of the tables were full so we went to the bar to wait for the rest of our party and grab drinks while she figured it out. The host sat back down and didn't get us a table we had to go get her and tell her again. Then once we were seated they made the bartender that was serving us at the bar come out from behind the bar to our table to be our server when they had multiple servers available. It took us an hour to get our food and one of our guest burger was burnt. The atmosphere was good though and the bartender was awesome she did such a great job even though the place is ran poorly. I would recommend it as a bar but if you want food and service I recommend going elsewhere.
J A — Google review
The rockin dee's wing sauce is amazing. The atmosphere is really fun. They have live music here too. Not many places in montgomery do. The salads are really good too, but make sure you've got plenty of belly space as the portions are big. Almost every time I have gone we've had to go plates and the food was even better the second time around
Latrick T — Google review
Been here twice, thought the first time might have been a fluke. Food is average at best. That'd be ok if the customer service was decent. Waitresses are, as a whole, short tempered and reluctant to resolve issues that arose with our group, let alone answer basic questions. Have an NFL package but can't show every game due to linked tv's. Truly a "Rock Bottom" experience
Timothy B — Google review
Food was average but 3 of the wait staff that I talked to seemed either incredibly stupid or they were on drugs. I'm assuming drugs or drunk. No one can be that dumb.
Chris P — Google review
Add on TV ....it would help you all to give an address. I just seen another commercial #2 and again no location. I did look it up and found it. I was shocked it's right in the middle of the bypass... you would think it was in the middle of the woods and needed a pass to get in. Anyway, I really think it was a big mistake not to include your address in your commercials.
Alabama U — Google review
Don't expect the waitresses to be able to tell you what local brews they carry. The answer to my question was 'the taps are over there' and pointed across the restaurant.

Night club
Bar
Sous La Terre Downtown is a unique late-night spot in Montgomery, AL that offers live jazz and blues music in a subterranean setting. It's not your typical jazz club, as it serves high-quality food and features a band that has been playing together for over 50 years. The atmosphere is fantastic, the drinks are top-notch, and the music is great.
This place was my introduction to the blues while I was a student at Huntington College in the early 90s. Fantastic atmosphere, no watered down drinks, and great music! Perfect place to go with a group of friends or just for a late night date spot. Every time I get back to Montgomery I make it a priority to slip into that basement for a couple of hours. If you like the blues, there’s no better place to go outside of New Orleans!
Brian D — Google review
You may not think of Montgomery AL as Jazz club territory, but Jazz at the Sous La Terre isn't your ordinary Jazz Club. Located below Lasalla Blue, The Sous La Terre serves food that is a notch above the typical jazz club -- you won't regret going to this club. The club opens at 11pm Friday and Saturday only the band starts playing at 1am. The guys have been playing together for over 50 years and play a large verity of music.

The Montgomery Biscuits, a minor league baseball team affiliated with the Tampa Bay Rays, play their games at Riverwalk Stadium in downtown Montgomery. The stadium offers great sightlines from the seats and includes a picnic area for families to enjoy the games. It's located at the corner of Coosa and Tallapoosa streets, making it easily accessible for locals and visitors alike.
One of the best places to see a minor league game I've ever been to--and I've been to a lot. Highly recommend.

I enjoy my very first biscuits game with my company which sponsors and we all had a really great time. I really enjoyed it the games that they played in between innings. I definitely recommend this place as a great family event.
