One of our absolute favourite beaches! It’s small and quiet, and sheltered from the wind. You must check the tides, and the beach disappears in high tide, and the tide rises very quickly if you’re on the beach. There is an entrance fee, and you need to provide ID for SA resident fees, so remember to bring it or have a digital copy ready. You won’t be guaranteed to see penguins, as they are wild so roam about. So if you do, enjoy them. Don’t chase them, they’ll swim and wonder around the people. You’ll definitely see dassies, they are quite tame but still wild so don’t try pet them. Highly recommend

A must visit place while visiting Cape Town. Penguins are not found everywhere hence seeing these here in wild and natural setting is not to be missed. I visited the place in October, when it was spring season at this place, I must say this is the best time to visit Cape Town. It is about a 1.5 hours journey from Cape town, however the journey in between is so pretty that you enjoy every bit of it. Along the journey you are passing on a coastal road which has breath taking sea views. Also, you pass through beautiful mountains covered with very beautiful natural flora and fauna that you would not have seen in any other part of the world. The natural wild flowers of this area are very unique. Once you reach the Boulders beach, you need to park your transport in the parking area, then you have to walk for some time to reach the Boulders beach. The walk itself is interesting. You have many souvenir shops in between and a proper souvenir shop at the boulders beach. On this way little children dressed in traditional dresses were dancing and singing local songs to entertain the visitors. You can join the dancing and have fun or you can have some pictures with them. Boulders beach itself is very pretty. Clear blue sae water, white sand, proper pathways to reach the beach and the Penguins itself. It was very much full of fun. Fully recommended.

Boulders Beach near Simon's Town has a lot going for it and you might just have too much fun in one day... Go early, rent a car, it's a lot less busy if your are not in a large tour group, we didn’t go with a plan, we just went with the flow, sometimes surprises make the journey more memorable... 5 stars for the penguins, 4 for the crowds of people. I knew it could be overcrowded, but I didn’t realize how much 😄 Even in the evening, 30 minutes before closing. However, maybe everyone was just waiting for the golden hour to take their best shots. Anyway, as a tourist must-see, plan your visit here. Penguins are such cute creatures!

Really great museum for people interested in not just the Naval history but also the vital history of the wonderfully diverse communities that grew up in this area as a result of the evolution of this town from its early conception. The museum also reflects the history of the forced relocation of this community under the Group Areas Act bringing the stark reality of apartheid and how it ripped people apart. The team are incredibly knowledgable and it was a real privilege to visit and learn so much. Thank you! A must see for anyone looking to learn about Simon’s Town and the communities that originated from here and who continue to contribute to the museum.

Simon’s Town Museum is small and not crowded, you don’t need to make reservation but need to buy tickets for access.

Fascinating place. Really nicely maintained on a shoestring budget. Done interesting displays that I found really informative about CPT history, weather and population. Of course there was Nuisance ❤️

Simon’s Town is a navy suburb and this museum of course references the rich maritime history, but also, you will find cultural and sometimes difficult history on full display. It’s only R20 ($1) to enter and they have authentic war memorabilia on display. It’s not a big museum but then again, Simon’s Town isn’t a particularly big town – and the museum gives a good account of the history and environment. Some of the local families who were moved out of the area in the bad old days have contributed artefacts to the museum. And there’s a large conference room, but no indication on whether it can be hired for a private event. It would also be good if private tours would be available in the museum as the exhibits don’t always seem to follow each other. There’s a tiny gift shop with well-priced stock. Hours are tight: they close at 15:00.

Wonderful hosts of our Books on the Bay Literary Festival, with displays to keep visitors busy for an hour. Good curios as well. Safe parking. St Francis of Assisi Anglican Church right next door. Their stained glass windows well worth the visit

Generally the visit was okay, however due to it being a weekend we were not allowed to go down stairs,due to them being short staffed. One thing which I was confused about prior going to the museum I called to find out if there's entry fee which they responded to with no there is not but upon entry at the museum we were told it was R50 to enter which we had to pay and that it was a donation, which baffled me coz the guy didn't Want to let us in. Anywayz it was okay.

Not as interesting as the naval museum but it has a prison that you can go look at and it looks cool and think it leads to the Simon's town tunnels that were here but they are hiding it for some reason

This place has a great vibe. There is wonderful, creative and clever handwork which makes great souvenirs or gifts. The views of the harbour are really picturesque. There are a couple of great places to eat at or just for a coffee. The parking area is always full, so you may have to find parking else where. The paving is quite bumpy plus there are stairs or different levels which make it not wheelchair accessible.

An adorable little treasure in Simon's Town. Little stalls with curios and restaurants make this spot a must visit for anyone in the area. Our family enjoyed reading about the town's history on the wall a couple of meters outside the square and the view at the dock is incredible.

It is set in a beautiful place, the hawkers are a bit demanding which detracts a little bit overall still worth a visit. Ideal of you want to get some curios. Visit Just nNuisance and have a explore his story.

Every time I come to Simonstown I am amazed by how well preserved the history of the town is. It is clean and well kept. The Jubilee square market is great. There are many things to see and many restaurants to dine at. One of my favorite places in the whole of South Africa.

Fascinating outline of the most prominent historical naval figures and ships associated with Simons Town. The awesome Nuisance, the heart-rending sinking of the SS Mendi and the canons all make for an informative few minutes and some good photographs.

Lovely place to go enjoy the day with the family . Glow in the dark putt putt was really good , then the scratch patch was thrilling for the wife and kids. Overall good experience , must do when you are in the area

Coffee cave provides tasty coffee, scratch patch gives you pretty gems to sift through, cave golf provides entertainment for young and old alike and there is also a chance to see the gem factory and purchase rocks and minerals in various forms.

Every holiday we go to the Scatch Patch for a round of mini golf and to collect more gemstones for our little garden at home. Kids have an absolute blast in the Scatch Patch. I love the Gem Shop, so many stunning goodies. A definite must visit!!!

What a lovely place. Rather than the children (and adults) just selecting from a shop, they scratch around and find the gemstones they want to take home. Just buy a bag, the size to want, and look around for the best gems to take home. Great fun and very relaxing. Lovely to see children so engrossed in searching for treasure. The shop has done network late pieces inside many trinkets made from the Grenadines and some fossils. Definitely worth a visit.

A highly adventurous and very fun place. The food was good, the scratch patch was something I'll never forget and the mini golf was very fun. The museum was very interesting as well. Me and my entire party have no complaints. We will definitely be returning for more.

Awesome background story: Just Nuisance was a Great Dane who lived in Simon’s Town, South Africa, during the Second World War. Born in 1937, he became famous for his loyalty to the Royal Navy sailors stationed at the naval base there. He was often seen escorting sailors to the local train station and, remarkably, would ride the trains with them all the way to Cape Town and back. At the time, the railway company began complaining because Nuisance took up valuable space and didn’t have a ticket. But the sailors loved him, and to solve the issue, the Navy did something unprecedented — they officially enlisted Just Nuisance as an Able Seaman in the Royal Navy in 1939. This entitled him to free rail travel and ensured his place among the sailors. Nuisance became a symbol of morale and companionship. He was known for guiding drunk or weary sailors back to the station to catch the last train to Simon’s Town, making sure they got home safely — even nudging or herding them along the way. His loyalty and service made him a legend. He died in 1944 and was buried with full military honours. His grave can be visited at Klawer Camp just outside Simon’s Town, and there’s also a statue of him in Jubilee Square overlooking the harbour.

Such a wonderfull story and Jubilee square has a beautiful centre with retuarants alongside it overlooking a natural harbour and naval base.

For anyone familiar with the story or book this is a must visit place if only for a few minutes.

Simonstown is probably my favourite spot in the Mother City. It has everything, the harbour, nice beaches, kayaking, restaurants etc. then it is like a compulsory stop for cyclists.

Very interesting story behind this dog. He guided the soldiers late at night when they couldn't find their way to the base. A very loyal dog. He broke his back after slipping and had to be put down. So he's statue is up there as a reminder of him. My guide Grant from Cape All Tours was so good. Told me to rub my nose against the dog's one for good luck 🤣🤣💕

Most beautiful outing to the waterfall. After the downpours it's flowing like crazy. Quite an easy trek up, a bit slippery in the wet weather. The waterfall baboon troop were in the area, they are quite harmless. Dogs allowed on a leash. The views from up here are quite stunning. You can see the whole of Simonstown harbour. Very soothing to sit down and just listen.

A beautiful experience. Not for little kids as the trail is very narrow with a steep drop and no railings for protection. No Parking available. Great spot to see baboons. Beautiful views as its really high up. The waterfall isn't much of a waterfall when there hasn't been rain. The route to get to the trail is a bit tricky so you have to ask the local people for directions. Always be safe and be careful. The rangers that were keeping people safe from the baboons are very helpful and kind. Trail is about 30 min to an hour. Free entry

If you ever have some time to kill out here in the deep south of Cape Town, a walk up to Admiral’s Waterfall is the perfect way to relax. There’s very limited parking, but the walk is straightforward and a bit of a local secret as very few people from outside the area walk up here. The views over the suburb are amazing and the sound of the water when it’s flowing strong is wonderful. Bear in mind that the closer to the water you go, the more slippery the rocks become, so be cautious. Otherwise, it’s an easy safe walk and if you do meet people, they are generally friendly and helpful (especially the locals). Caution: You don’t need your backpacks with food, there are baboons in the area. Put bags in the boot of your car.

Admiral's Waterfall is a lovely walk/hike, depending on where you start. It is the perfect winter spot, as the waterfall gushes with magnificence and beauty. As a hiker, we would incorporate Signal Schools Steps as well as the dam that's beyond the viewpoint. In summer, it is dry, but the views are beautiful all around. This is a lovely spot for kids and pets or even just a short walk in nature. There are no facilities on route. However, there are many amenities in Simon's Town that will cater to your needs.

An easy hike up to the waterfalls, making it enjoyable for even the little hikers! Quite a steep elevation to climb once at the foot of the Waterfall but so worth it. Kick off your hiking shoes and frolic in the water!

Such a great quick walk/hike to the waterfall. Middle of the trail is a bit steep but nothing major. Don't think any significant fitness is required. Absolutely stunning views!

This place offers a wonderful view of the beach with african penguins. Too many people, but still a great place.

Foxy Beach is where you'll see the most penguins... but it's crowded with other visitors. Nevertheless, the experience is worthy of the time and effort.

A must to visit place in Capetown! The penguins are so cute and are not afraid of people at all. The area is all protected. Not too many visitors, you can always find a place to make a good photo or video with birds.

Such a gorgeous spot for viewing this happy penguin community in their natural habitat. The boardwalk is well maintain and easily accessible, good job, Table Mountain National Parks! Entry ticket prices are low, bring your SA ID book or passport or driving licence to get the SA citizen/resident rate :-)

Even in high winds the penguins did not disappoint! Good cost for an entry fee and everything was in great shape. The stars of the show definitely did there part and everyone had a good laugh at them running into the water and just overall hanging on the beach. Definitely a stop to make during your trip to Cape Town!

A very busy beach over weekends. Washed out kelp all over the beach but otherwise clean. Nice for awimming even though the water is cold. Penguins sometimes visit the beach and have nests in the dunes. A paid entrance to the bigger colony starts on the northern side of the beach.

beautiful beach with white sand. if you go to the right, you can sit on the rocks alone. despite the fact that there are many signs warning that there are penguins here, when we were there there were no penguins. so if you are hoping to see penguins here, you may not see them, keep in mind.

Went to Boulders beach to see African Penguins but the crowds and queues were too long. Went to Seaforth Beach instead.and found a quiet beach with lots of Penguins. No entry fee too. Highly recommend this spot for a quiet viewing of African Penguins.

Nice beach. We saw penguins here before having to pay the toll to see them roughly 482803263092nm away. On our walk down we saw an ibis and enjoyed the flowers! It is relatively small for a beach maybe only 6.11e-10 AU across. At least it's only 1060704791530Å away from the nearest restaurant which offers a chicken curry with a Shwartzchilds radius of 1.229×10^(-26) 5 (US) ring diameters

Cute penguins gave us a parade show!

Firstly I just want to say how amazing the owners are. They were so kind and extremely helpful. Our apartment was extremely clean with everything we needed, from extra blankets to extra towels. The area is extremely safe, peaceful and serene. Located literally right next to Seaforth beach and Boulders beach. There is a great restaurant and cafe nearby as well as a convenience store. Simon's town is only a walk away. Best part was seeing the penguins just walking around near the beach. Definitely recommend!!!!

So many penguinssssss!!! There are so cute, my heart was melted because of them and my sunscreen too! Sunny day, nice weather. they have outdoor parking lot which is good. Love the place, Love environment and people over there. amazing! good to go

I took my social group on the Ghost Walk Tour on Saturday 29th April 2023. What an awesome experience. The tour guide is so knowledgeable of the history of Simon's Town. We learnt so much. The cost of this awesome experience is very reasonable. A definite 👍🏿👍🏿

I've always been super skeptical on Ghosts, but this cements it. The prank was super cool and spooky. Before the tour, you meet at Jubilee Square and had some surprise guests (baboons). The burial grounds have such rich history dating back to 1795, which is amazing... the tour guides were awesome 👌. If you were to do this, I would definitely recommend booking tickets in advance 😀 Thank you to the group members and tour guides for making this such a special occasion 😌😎

When my friend Wim mentioned this ghost walk quite a few months ago, it was a "bucket list" activity come summer! It did NOT disappoint. We headed to the assigned meeting place at Jubilee Square where I had a few chats to the rather silent statue of Just Nuisance. What a gorgeous animal he was. I was somewhat familiar with his story...until the Main Storyteller arrived and boy!his insights just incredible. Along strolls the man himself, André. Presenting as a slight figure, well, that brain accommodated a trove of knowledge and as us South Africans say: "stukkende stories" in the mix. I saw a side to Simonstown that as a Native..have NEVER seen before. Exquisite buildings that had the history explained to us in funny, intellectual, anecdotal and the lot, in his theatrical manner. Well, when the ghostly stories arrived, I was all of Four ears!!! I was impressed with his historical knowledge that Simonstown possessed as some of the first buildings in our country. Good restaurant right in front of the beach. No penguins during our visit, but the food was very good and plates are well served. The Salmon Pate is delicious as well as the Prawn Pasta. Recommended!

Really enjoyed our meal at Seaforth Restaurant! The oysters were super fresh, and everything we ordered tasted great. The sea view made it a lovely spot to dine and relax. It’s also conveniently located right next to the famous Boulders Beach penguin colony — perfect for a meal before or after visiting the penguins. However, I did notice a bit of a strange smell inside the restaurant, kind of like penguin droppings. It’s probably because of how close it is to the colony. It didn’t ruin the experience, but it was a little off-putting at first.

Very drlicious food. This restaurant is near the very tourist spot where you can see penguins so I honestly didnt expect much. However, it blew my mind. When i saw “seafood curry” on the menu in the “African” category, i got excited. The curry has a nice kick to it and there were squid, prawn, white fish all cooked to perfection. The staff were very kind too and the water view is fantastic.

Fish was overcooked, grilled shrimps were good, but it was difficult to get from shell, calamari was good but too much spicy. Chips from sweet potato were being very delicious. The view from restaurant is nice when you sit outside, but unfortunately our reservation for terrace suddenly was not on terrace, but inside. I think management have to pay more attention for reservations, because it is just not nice to sit on the corner when you count on nice view.

Standard oceanside restaurant in a tourist location where you pay for the views and the food is average and expensive because it doesn't need to rely on repeat visitors. We ended up here for lunch with a horde of other bus tours before visiting Boulder's Beach. The tables for 6 were tiny and we were wedged in touching elbows. I ordered a vegan burger with chips (R145). Given how packed the place was the food didn't take that long to reach us. Sadly the burger was totally bland and flavourless. Lenil patty topped with some grated beetroot and boiled pumpkin. No sauce, relish, spices. The chips were good. The bun was barely toasted. Unfortunately not many vegetarian options and the ones that were, were vegan too.

This is a typical place where you are taken when you are in a group tour. The food is absolutely standard with choice that is enough to eat. Service is also overall ok. Indeed, if you are not taking here by the guide probably we would never come.

A quick lunch stop, on a rainy day. No outside seating today. Bit believe me it's arguably one of the best views ever! We been here man y times before, but haven't been in a while. Host and hostess the best in the Deep South. Take a trip there soonest. I had the delectable Pavlova and hubbie opted for the healthier option! Grilled chicken salad. Awesome experience, thank you!!

They offered a delightful selection of cakes and pastries, from classic favourites like apple tart to unique creations that took familiar flavors to new heights. A standout was the orange chocolate log cake, a layered masterpiece that lived up to its reputation as one of their signature treats.

The sweetest thing is eponymous for indeed, this darling of a bakery is the sweetest thing in such an adorable little town. In fact its the cherry on top! The cafe itself is utterly delightful with gorgeous outdoor seating and clean bathrooms. The pastries are incredible! I loce custard and always select a custard option and the custard tart here is the best I have ever had! The custard was silky and eggy while the base was a treat equal to its filling- crusty and tasty! Normally a base compliments the filling but here its like two amazing treats in one 🥧 The orange log is the most popular and for good reason: filled with sponge cake, vanilla cream, choc mouse and choc cake and smothered in a smooth creamy orange dip and finally topped with a piece of dark choc: PERFECTION. Its got a lot going on and yet its not too sweet allowing us to truly taste all the amazing flavors. No wonder it sells out really quickly 💜

The food is fantastic — between us, our party of three had 3 servings of the potato and leek soup; 5 coffees, 3 teas, and an espresso; a slice of apple crumble, and two gluten-free desserts. It was the fact The Sweetest Thing offers some gluten-free options that brought us through the (very narrow) door in the first place, as my wife is Celiac (I also took a gluten-free option so we could share half-wnd-half). We first grabbed coffees to go, as we were running late for a whale-watching cruise, but cane back for lunch. While none of us left unhappy with the food and drink, the service left much to be desired unfortunately. We waited a really long time to have our orders taken or the dishes to be cleared, and had to go looking for our waiter more than once. I shudder to think how much worse it is when the place is busy (we were one of only two or three tables!) Still, for take away coffees and dessert items (especially if you're gluten-free), I can still recommend The Sweetest Thing.

I got The Sweetest Thing to cater for a cocktail party I hosted and it was fantastic, the canapés looked great and tasted even better. You can tell very good quality ingredients where used. Will highly recommend again and again. Thank you

We were so excited to visit – my sister and I had been looking forward to some seriously good pastries and a cozy treat-yourself moment. We asked the staff for recommendations, hoping for a passionate rundown of their favourites… but were met with a shrug. Not the start we imagined. Still hopeful, we went with the cheesecake, because really, how badly can you mess up cheesecake? (Spoiler alert: badly.) We were assured everything was fresh, but the cheesecake clearly hadn’t gotten the memo. It tasted like it had been through a bit of an existential crisis in the fridge. Many of the pastries looked like they’d been waiting patiently for someone to love them… for a couple of days. We thought we were playing it safe. Turns out, we were playing ourselves. Then came the bill. R60 for a chai and R40 for a small coffee. I didn’t know I was financing a caffeine hedge fund. Honestly, I think I saw my bank account flinch. All in all: sad cheesecake, steep prices, and staff that didn’t seem to know (or love) the menu. Not what we had in mind.

I'm a lover of great desserts and thought that I'd try it out since it said patisserie on the sign. The desserts aren't very cheap. I purchased an almond croissant that's rectangular instead of a normal crescent shape and a lemon tart. The almond croissant was tasty but crispier than others I've had. The lemon tart looks divine and at R42 hopefully it doesn't disappoint.

Lovely spot with a view - open later than a lot of the other cafes at the harbour. The staff are so sweet to kids and they charge a special half waffle rate for under 12s. And they generously provide extra plates for those sharing.

I had my grand kids with me. A 2 yr old and 5 yr old. We were three adults. They were almost closing and we were served very well. Cleanliness 10/10. Service 10/10.. and food and preparation 10/10. Quality and taste - the best waffles I have had in a long time. Thank you for making our experience and out special after a horrible experience we had at a restaurant nearby. Well done.

I love waffles is a great little spot to come satisfy your sweet tooth. The waffles are delicious and with a large variety of waffles to choose from you will be coming back to try the other ones. Their selection of beverages is also very different from blueberry lemonade to different fruit shakes this is a great place to quench the heat. The shop is clean and the service is great. This is the place... fresh crisp and delicious Waffles. Our favourite is traditional with chocolate ice cream. I cannot tell you how delicious, I am laughing as my saliva glands and beginning to work overtime just writing and reviewing my pics from our visit on Saturday morning.

Quiet space. Small portions for high prices. Good staff service and view. When? Best to dine here late in the afternoon to catch warm sun and feel the sea breeze. Food: High variety of seafood and meats offered. No signature dish though. They do have a Catch of the Day. Seafood was flavourless. The portions were tiny. Only 2 prawns given on a platter for 2. A platter? We ordered halloumi fries as a starter and got 3 small index finger size strips. Prawns undercooked. Fish flavourless. Calamari unremarkable. Muscles were good. Service: Good service. Friendly staff. Frequent the table with top ups and clearing plates. Atmosphere: Quiet. Fairly tranquil. Not busy. Cutlery: Good utensils. Good steak knives offered, but I noticed serviettes were unbranded. For French named restaurant charging above €15 per dish with an assortment of wine pairings, one would think branded serviettes would accompany your place settings. It hints at cost cutting rather than elegant dining along the pier. Lunch for 2 costed €100 without dessert.

Oh my goodness....What AMAZING FOOD,what a GREAT guy in Pilot who NOTHING (trust me nothing) was too much trouble.I mean to put into context - it was my family (4 of us);my sister in law's family (5),my mother -in-law -1 and my wife's brother and his girlfriend (2)....so a WALK-IN party of 12 ....he accommodated,we were VERY well fed and looked after -one star is taken off because I had to chase up a few items BECAUSE...we were in a hurry...BUT again...Pilot and the team....NO TROUBLE!!All the best... PLEASE, PLEASE support this great business.Thank you!

My hubby and I decided to grab a bite to eat at SAVEUR in Waterfront, Simon's Town. On arrival we were greeted by a very pleasant Pilot who was our waiter for the time we were there. Both of us decided to try the Cajun Burger ... DELICIOUS, to say the least ... and truly enjoyed everything about it. For dessert we tried the cheesecake and the sticky toffee pudding served with ice-cream ...which we shared amongst the two of us ... WOW!! Hands down 2 of SAVEUR's fave desserts!! Thanks, again, to the staff and management who made our experience exactly what we needed to come back again and again and again ...

Absolutely no complaints. The only question you should ask yourself is why you havent visited yet! Wide range of dining options, great atmosphere and service. Even better food! Had the chicken salad and fresh hake - undoubtedly the best in town. Highly recommend that with the brownie and coffee for dessert.

Delightful dinner experience. I had the tuna tartar and the grilled calamri starter with mango. Both dishes were fantastic with lovley flavours and the calamari was oh so tender. The service ambassador, Kelvin, was quick, efficient and very friendly. Thank you Kelvin.

Came here especially as had read the reviews. Needed a good breakfast before the penguins and Cape. We had smashed avocado, health bowl and large filled croissant with bacon and cheddar. We also had fresh juice and coffee. Absolutely lovely breakfast and the view was amazing over the harbour. Our waiter was really loveky too.

Great service and spectacular views really elevate this place. The food was great - fresh and delicious and very well cooked. It’s a big place with plenty of seating, both inside and outside, and it’s definitely worth listening to the specials of the day. One caution - stick to the fish dishes. One of our party ordered the butternut risotto; what came was basically cheesy rice! We did advise the manager; it stayed on the bill…

Excellent battered fish and chips, really crispy, hot and delicious. Generous portions. The food came out quickly, which is also good. Fried calamari was OK, perhaps slightly on the bland side. Servers were completely unwelcoming and switched off, but seemed to warm up as Lunch continued

We had a lovely lunch at The Salty Sea Dog. The hake and chips portions were good. The prices are a bit on the higher side compared to other fish and chips places - however their portion size is also bigger than the others. Food was tasty and fresh. I would recommend

The wife and I had a great lunch at the docks after going to visit the penguins. Service was amazing, food was great. We had hake and chips with onion rings, calamari and mushy peas. It all tasted great. The waiters were extremely friendly and professional, they really made us feel welcome and valued. The pricing is very good, considering the fact that Simon's Town is a tourist destination. I would most definitely recommend this little restaurant to anyone wanting to go for a meal in Simon's Town, but not wanting to pay tourist prices.

Our family likes The Salty Dog, a lot. The setting is perfect, the food is great, and we received good service the 3 times we were there. Paid parking is right close and worth it as it seems to "never" be full.

Been there done that. I’m sure if you are looking for the authentic fresh fish and chips you can do better. The food is fresh and it is what it is. No wow factor. I need to ask the question, is this how I want to spend money? For a little more I can eat something wow. Besides, the coffee was certainly the worst I have had , ever! A real average experience. Come on South Africa, I know we can deliver way better than this.

We were 4 people for 6pm meal. Good service and the food was good, nothing special. We felt that the prices for an average Fish and chips shop were high. We had our own wine. Overall all in order and helpful waiters.

I heard about this museum long ago, and finally got the chance to visit! Found out that I'm a 6th-generation Slamdien in South Africa. Enjoyed the old photos and memorabilia very much! There's no entrance fee charged, so please donate generously. The guide was very helpful and knowledgeable on the history of Simonstown and the generations of Cape Malays in the area.

A culturally rich experience to reveal the history of the Cape Muslim community of Simonstown. They also have the burial records of the Dido Valley and Seaforth cemeteries to assist in tracing family history.

This is truly a place of Malay Heritage taking people back many, many years of how Malay people lived, holding onto their traditions and heritage (which is fading away as the years go by) , I love the setup of the museum, all the rooms are transferred into displaying, showing and giving you a true Malay culture/traditional experience, you will come across a Bridal room (known to the Malay people as the "Bruidskamer") for me that haven't seen or witnessed one with my very own eyes, I was in awe, just stepping into any of the rooms or walking down the house passages, amazed me, all the artefacts, photographs of years gone by, ornaments, clothes, mannequins with their traditional wear, and the Davidson couple that runs the museum is so sweet walking with you and patiently answering all your questions, they have a lovely garden where you can relax and have a picnic afterwards.

Fantastic view! Great food! Great prices. There is a view of the False Bay Yacht basin and the beautiful surrounding town and mountains. I had breakfast here. Guests can are restricted to the outdoors under cover area and members are allowed to sit anywhere. I feel that visitors should have the option of sitting at a limited number of outdoors tables for a bit of warmth.

A favourite place. Home base of my rowing club, have been a member since the early 2000's. Beloved place where my children grew up. Where children learn to swim, sail, row, dive, skipper boats, while growing up.

Possibly one of the best experiences I had in Capetown. It was such an intimate experience listening to his story and imagining how this man is still alive 10 out of 10 recommended.

We did a 3 day sailing course with Mills Boat Academy and made use of the facilities at The False Bay Yacht Club. The bathrooms, restaurants, docks, and other facilities are great. The course was fantastic, and we thoroughly enjoyed the sailing. Thank you.

Fantastic location and great food at reasonable cost. Guinness if you want it. The views are second to none and a very relaxing place to visit for food refreshment or to take in the views. Go there....

I enjoyed a wonderful meal - a mini seafood platter - that I couldn’t finish due to the generous portion size. The service staff are helpful and friendly and the atmosphere is fantastic. Neptune’s Galley are locals’ favourite I’ve learned, and with the good prices and tasty food I can understand why!

My assessment of this course is bittersweet. Although the stunning scenery has a strong appeal, the course conditions were shockingly subpar – the worst I've experienced. The greens were in such disrepair that even the shortest putts became uncertain, making every shot a gamble. Furthermore, the lack of clear distinction between the fairway and rough in certain areas added to the challenge. Considering Cape Town's dry January season, I tried to be understanding of this, and I believe the conditions are most probably much better in the rainy seasons. However, the significant number of inconsiderate dog walkers on the course, disregarding golfers' right of way, was unsettling. On multiple occasions, I had to wait or adjust my play to avoid disturbing them. The 9-hole course, with its 6 par-4s and 3 par-3s (par 33), is relatively short. According to Handicaps SA, it plays below handicap, but strong winds can make a low score elusive. The small greens and windy conditions present a challenge. Despite its shortcomings, I believe this course has tremendous potential. Unfortunately, as a public park course, it may not be possible for private investment to transform it into a world-class facility. A revamped course layout, departing from its current "spiderweb" design, could be a crucial step in unlocking its full potential.

Good food at reasonable prices. Enjoy their Friday music sessions from 6 pm to 8 pm. The best music performance has been David Pfuhl. Excellent guitarist and singer.

Not very well maintained. A super confusing course. There were a bunch of youngsters playing behind us drinking and smoking on the field and driving around the course like crazy people on their golfcart. One person also randomly ran over the course, heading to the beach. There were a bunch of boys playing soccer on the fairway. So seems rules are not kept and also saw no one doing maintenance.

An absolute pleasure of an experience, the staff at the Simon's town county club are beyond friendly and truly helpful. We tried their classic breakfast before heading out into the rain for our 9am tee time, and what can I say about the course. It's a surprise, from the steep hills to breathtaking views. With Bolders beach on the one side and the mountains on the other. Playing a round here is a definite must for anyone wanting a different experience. A must for anyone trying to get out of the mashie course, but not ready for par 5's. This par 66 course will test your skills. Thanks for having us.

Visited the Simon's Town Country Club for the monthly meeting of the Fish Hoek Philatelic Society. We arrived early in order to enjoy lunch. I had the Lamb Curry and it was great with a very generous helping. Great friendly staff.

The golf course is a little confusing as the fairways are close together and not clearly defined - it's difficult to figure out which green belongs to which tee, however if we had looked at the back of the score card, we would have seen the whole layout. Hollow tining had been done at the time of our visit which made putting difficult but otherwise its a lovely course with STUNNING views of the beach and turquoise water. The food at the clubhouse was delicious, the staff friendly. We liked it so much we decided we'd play there once a month.

It's so windswept that the trees bow away from the South Easter but the golfers persist. In the clubhouse the beers are cold and the barman friendly. A large breakfast of bacon, eggs, chips and toast is value at R65 because it includes a coffee. Well worth a visit.

It was a tad of a letdown, but I was impressed with the public art installations. It is a picturesque environment and worth the experience of taking a visit. There are some nice and interesting shops nearby that offer anything you'd like. The people are, generally, friendly and welcoming.

The waterfront in Simon's Town is not like the Waterfront in Cape Town but it's still beautiful. It's way more quiet and that is what makes the difference. There is less people and you get time to take in what you see and appreciate it. Very welcoming for all walks of life, young and old, family and friends. If you taking a Sunday drive this is one of the place to go to and enjoy. One of the small places that is waiting to be explored.

Was my first time I have ever been at the Simons Town Waterfront. Was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed it thoroughly. Couple of boats to take you out to do whale watching, diving and even have some fun with water bicycles. Great number of restaurants and even some historic places to visit in the area.

Situated on main road Simon's Town in-between the naval base. The are a few restaurants to choose from, curio shops and a lovely small jetty across from the yacht club, where the whale viewing and shark cage diving boats leave from. Don't forget to take a visit to Salty Sea dogs for great sea food. Parking is some what difficult to find sometimes. Try parking up by the shell garage and take a walk down through the Town pass other coffee shops and pubs. You might even see a Chacma baboon on the main road.

Our group visited Simon’s Town, S Africa, for lunch and a walk along Boulder Beach to see the endangered African penguins. The Seaforth restaurant gave us a grand water view and our vegan meals were excellent. The meat eaters in our group were satisfied as well and many enjoyed milkshakes w/ lunch. We were thrilled to see the penguins on the beach and in the water. At the beach for humans a Santa swimming added to the holiday atmosphere. As we walked by artists’s stalls a group of young Xhosa girls dancing was an added treat.

The scenery is beautiful. It is easy to eat because there is a restaurant and cafe nearby. You can enjoy various water sports. The parking lot is not big. You have to pay for parking at 5 Land per hour. Parking fee can be done in cash or snapscan.

Gave to love this town. Very clean and well maintained. Always a treat to visit here. Good restaurants and awesome beaches and dont forget the Penguins.
