Harbour Lights Barbados, located 2km southeast of Bridgetown, is a popular spot for dancing and socializing. The modern seafront building features an oceanfront patio where guests can cool off while enjoying recorded reggae and soca music until the wee hours. On Monday nights, they host a Beach Party with transportation, buffet, drinks, live band, and themed entertainment. The venue also offers the Harbour Lights Dinner Show with live Caribbean bands and Bajan BBQ dinners on select nights.
This was definitely worth the price! Very entertaining, great food and the manager was an absolute gem. Great Staff!!! Very attentive and knowledgeable. The dancers, amazing. This was our first night in Barbados and we are so happy we decided to attend this show. The rum punches will give you a good punch after a few. Tourists all dressed decently. I wish this wasn’t only on Wednesdays and Thursday but everyday

From start to finish the Harbor Lights Show delivered with customer service, entertainment, welcoming atmosphere, and great food! If requested, they can provide transportation from your hotel or villa. Our transportation was on time and the driver was very courteous. Upon entering the venue you are greeted with your first rum punch followed by a souvenirs vender with some reasonably priced goods. Then you are greeted and seated. All drinks, food, beverages are included. Tips are welcome and I would say well deserved. Before the show begins, you can get drinks or some appetizers. The show will provide a few great acts before dinner. I forgot to mention, as you enter, you are asked what kind of meal you would like (jerked chicken, steak, shrimp, fish) and receive a ticket. Mid show you have dinner which was delicious and little after dinner dessert is available. The food was cooked and seasoned well and the drinks were not watered down! The show was a combination of history, a little carnival vibe, that later turned into a party. I am glad we made this choice. I would recommend to anyone!

Harbour lights was a fantastic beach club on boatyard beach. Only a 10 min taxi from the cruise port for $5, the beach club was $35pp for sunbed, umbrella and a snorkeling boat trip to the shipwrecks and to swim with turtles. It was worth the entry fee for the snorkeling trip alone. Sunbed service for drinks and food. The food was really good. Highly recommended for a great day in Barbados
Ben L — Google review
The show was amazing. I had so much fun dancing and singing along. The dancers were very professional and entertaining. The band sounded good and kept the audience engaged. I highly recommend attending. There was plenty of food to choose from but it could have been more flavorful. Dessert was simple but delicious. The ice cream helped cool me off from all the dancing I was doing in my seat. The event ends with a full on dance party. So much fun!! Tip: Guests are asked to arrive at 7. They check you in, give you a welcome drink (rum punch 🥳) and show you to your seat. There are appetizers to enjoy prior to the start of the show around 740. Dinner isn't served until 830. Be prepared to eat late.
Raven C — Google review
We were able to reserve a set of beach chairs with an umbrella online before we arrived. The check-in process was easy, and they took us right to our reserved spots on the beach. This beach is the best beach I’ve ever been to! The sand is soft, and it has a slight pinkish tint because it’s been mixed with crushed seashells. There’s a great server who brings drinks and food right to your spot on the beach. If you like, you can also try one of the many water activities that are offered.
Juan T — Google review
Fabulous night at the dinner show. Food was very good and served efficiently given the amount of people there. Pre dinner appetisers were welcome to have with your welcome rum punch. Drinks were good too, best pina colada I’ve had all holiday and the rum and tonic was a good measure. Just be mindful that some cocktails are not part of the package but can be purchased for 12 USD. Entertainment was very good, and there is a real party atmosphere. I would definitely recommend an evening out at Harbour Lights.
Joanne R — Google review
The beach and service was good. I gave a three because the food was not good and the bartender was stingy with the rum. I recommend for the beach. I do not recommend for food and drinks.
Melissa W — Google review
Great beach club. We booked front row sun beds in advance which were worth every penny. Food was OK. Wouldn't do the snorkeling boat trip again, it was choc a bloc and at the same time as too many other boats, I'd find another earlier one when it's quieter next time

Immerse yourself in the rich history of rum at the Mount Gay Visitors' Centre in Barbados. This popular tour takes you through an 18th-century distillery, offering insights into the production process and showcasing historical equipment. Indulge in rum tasting and even purchase bottles to take home. Learn about the birthplace of rum and its fascinating journey while treating yourself to a few tastings.
Fantastic couple of hours spent on the distillery tour. Our host, Damien, was very knowledgeable and took us through the history of mount gay rum making. Finished with tasting of some amazing rums. Thoroughly recommend it.
Kevin L — Google review
Our Signature Tasting Session at the Mount Gay Visitors' Center was a delightful introduction to Barbados's rum heritage. From the moment we arrived, the reception staff were warm and welcoming, setting a positive tone for our visit. We were immediately greeted with a delicious rum punch, a perfect start while waiting for the group to assemble. The tour began with an engaging overview of Mount Gay's history and its significance to Barbados, showcased through a display of vintage bottles and informative panels. Our guide was knowledgeable and passionate, providing detailed explanations and emphasizing the groundbreaking fact that Mount Gay is home to the first female Rum Master in Barbados. This was a particularly fascinating detail, highlighting the distillery's progressive approach and the rich history of rum-making on the island. Following the historical introduction, a short film upstairs further illuminated the rum-making process and the island's history. Then came the tasting! We sampled four distinct rums: Silver, Eclipse, Black Barrel, and XO. Our guide expertly walked us through each one, explaining their unique characteristics and offering tips on how to best appreciate the nuances of flavor. Overall, the experience was highly enjoyable, and our tour guide was exceptional. The only slight drawback was the large group size, which made the experience feel less intimate compared to other rum tours we've taken on the island. However, the quality of the information, the delicious rum, and the welcoming atmosphere made it a worthwhile visit. We'd definitely recommend it for anyone interested in learning more about Mount Gay and the rich history of Barbadian rum, including the impressive story of their pioneering female Rum Master.

I quite liked it and the tour guide had a wealth of knowledge. My only gripe was that he talked a little bit too fast, but that is just me being picky. There was a six minute video on how rum was made, in between the talks, and the best was left till last - the rum tasting😋 Let's just say my head was spinning at the end. All in all an enjoyable experience I booked online and it was very straightforward. It lasted one hour 😎 2.5.25

Very interesting and entertaining tour! Allow 2.5 hours and be sure to wear a shirt that covers your shoulders and closed toe shoes. Buy your tickets in advance online and have your taxi pick up prearranged. RJ was very knowledgeable and fun - definitely a must do!

Knowledgeable staff and entertaining. Great energy and responsive. Could have used a friendlier setting for the tasting. Guests could use a few more seats Lunch was great and food as quite yummy Overall a recommendation as it is reasonable Better to just book on the website and take a taxi there.

My tour at the Mount Gay distillery in St. Lucy was a very informative and fun time. The tour guide Akil was knowledgeable and engaging which made the tour very good. The rum tasting at the end of tour was also good.

Run to Mount Gay Rum Everyone was fantastic. We arrived early, and they allowed us to join an earlier tour. They have cool water and the free included drink is amazingly refreshing. Tour guide was interactive, informative, and funny.
Jacob M — Google review
We had a fantastic visit to the Mount Gay Rum Visitor Centre in Barbados. From start to finish, it was a well-run, enjoyable experience, and the rum was excellent—but what really made it special was our host, Larissa. She was knowledgeable, engaging, and had a great sense of humor, making the whole tour both fun and informative. You could tell she was passionate about the history and craft behind Mount Gay, and she made sure everyone felt involved. The tasting session was a real highlight, with plenty of great insights into the different rums and how they’re made. The setting was relaxed and welcoming, and the whole experience felt authentic rather than overly commercial. If you’re in Barbados and even remotely interested in rum, this is well worth a visit

Mexican restaurant
Cafe Sol is a well-known Mexican restaurant in St. Lawrence Gap, Barbados, offering an authentic taste of Mexico in the Caribbean. The vibrant atmosphere and diverse menu make it a popular choice for locals and tourists alike. From classic dishes like tacos, burritos, fajitas, and enchiladas to options like nachos, empanadas, and tostadas, the restaurant serves up fresh and flavorful Mexican cuisine.
On our first visit to the island and being vegan there are limited options available. My daughter and I first visited this place on a busy night, tables were limited so we were sat at the bench over looking the sea...and what a beautiful view we had. I ordered the veg fajitas and my daughter ordered the chicken enchiladas. We both thoroughly enjoyed the food. My fajitas were stunning and sizzling and the chicken enchiladas were succulent! The service can be a little slow and the server was too quick to take my plate even though I hadn't finished but my daughter had. I told her to come back. We loved the place so much we went again for a late lunch. Although less busy and the service was a little slower. I could not fault our server. She was attentive and suggested other vegan options for me, this time I tried the burrito and my daughter ate the chicken salad....OMG it was divine. If you're ever on the island I would suggest visiting....you will not be disappointed!
Bal M — Google review
Great mex place on the corner of the gap. Good location and views. Really nice service, casual dining. Never sure about eating food that's not generally a local dish, but this place knows how to do mex food. All traditional mex dishes, and decently done with fresh ingredients. Service, even though busy was really good. Even without a booking and them being pretty busy, they still managed to squeeze us in. Reasonable prices for good food.
Naz N — Google review
A friend of ours who is a local told us about this spot and we are so glad that she did!!!! The food was very flavorful and well presented. They had options for basically everyone ranging from wings to salads to steaks to tacos. The staff were very helpful and accommodating which is definitely a plus!!!! The food came out quickly, it was piping hot and the price really is not much different than what you would expect at an American restaurant back home. The ONLY issue I had was the size of the wings because they were tiny BUT they were still delicious!!!! They are closed on Mondays and are very popular on the weekends especially; so plan accordingly.

Food and the margaritas were good except for the cheese nachos. The bread pudding and vanilla ice cream was 1000/10.

Been a while and tagging for memories. But remember enjoying our meals and drinks here…and good views too 🙌
Arch S — Google review
Wasn't to impressed with the service or the temperature of the foods on my last visit here. 2-1 cocktails is now 2nd cocktails for half price. Clumsy waitress marked my t-shirt with her pen as she went pass me! Back again and again.... love this place as it offers you something different from all the other places. Great Mexican restaurant with good quality food and drinks. Big portions served in a great location at one end of st Lawrence gap. Happy hour is 5-6pm every evening and 10-11pm, also 2 for 1 on a special selected drink every evening till close, Great cocktails. It gets very busy and normally no bookings are taken on partys less then 4 persons so you may have to wait out or the bar if there's space. Fairly priced and worth a visit.
Kevin S — Google review
The service a great here, friendly, fast, and attentive. The food is ok. The cheese on the nachos is.. grainy? And somewhat bland. The kids nachos get about half the accoutrements the adult nachos do. The food was very filling. It’s a very open cafe, and they have a lot of fans, but the breeze isn’t great so on hot stagnant days it could be too hot to enjoy a meal.
Ashleigh N — Google review
Cafe Sol is conveniently located at the beginning of the Gap, and offers great service with friendly and attentive staff! It is close to a beautiful space overlooking the sea, and you can get magnificent pictures as the sun sets. It's wonderful to walk up from the restaurant after dinner, past all the other lovely restaurants and bars that the Gap has to offer! We loved the vibe, and of course the food, and will definitely be there again!

Cuzz's Fish Stand, located on the west coast of Barbados, is a popular spot known for its traditional Bajan cutter sandwiches. The bright blue shack attracts locals and visitors alike who line up to savor the salty flying fish cutter, made with pillowy Bajan salt bread filled with warm fish, lettuce, tomatoes, and special pink pepper sauce.
Great fish cutter. The fish had a great crisp, but the inside was moist. Service was fast and there were additional condiments that you could put on your sandwich if you wanted. This place was very busy during the lunch hour. The atmosphere was nice, with a great view of the ocean. What a great little lunch place!
J B — Google review
The best fish burger/cutter you will have on the island. For $20 (Barbados dollar) you can’t go wrong with the double fish cutter with cheese. Grab a drink from neighbouring stores and it’s perfect. You can easily have 2/3 for yourself. Range of sauces for you to use too the best is Bajan pepper sauce. It’s only fish sold here so it’s halal and cash only either Barbados is USA dollars.
Ish M — Google review
The best fish cutter's on the island. We loved the double with cheese so much we had it twice. Cuzz's was open on Saturday despite what Google says. A must try when coming to Barbados 😊
Frankie L — Google review
Loved it! I was recommended to eat here by multiple people, and I knew I had to check it out before I left. Everyone was right that the cutta is so good. I had a simple fish cutta with cheese, and it was freshly grilled. I added Bajan pepper sauce to mines and it added that extra heat I needed. So good, and he uses marlin in case anyone was wondering what fish. I was lucky that when I went there was no line, so I got in and got out. It started raining heavily and the juice shop next door let me sit under their tent while I waited for the rain to subside. I also tried fresh green apple juice which was so good.
E I — Google review
This is the best fish sandwhich that you will have in your entire life! I will have dreams of this fish sandwhich.. no joke.
Jessica Z — Google review
Overrated. I just had the fish and cheese cutter… meh. I really don’t get the huge fuss. Definitely not with the 45 minute wait in the queue (there is ONE person doing the cooking AND ordering, mental). I’ve had SUCH AMAZING fish meals during my week in Barbados but this was definitely the lamest. Just not that flavourful.
Jennifer S — Google review
This place is a definite must try. My husband doesn't even like fish and I convinced him to try it and he actually requested we go back the next day. The fish cutter with cheese is amazing!!
Jacqui R — Google review
Cuzz and his fish stand are incredible. It’s the first stop I make when I’m on the island. Double fish cutter with cheese and load it with the bajan pepper sauce. Grab a banks beer. Sit with tourists and locals. Few things in life are better than that.

The Boatyard Beach Club in Barbados is a vibrant beachfront destination offering a range of activities and amenities for visitors of all ages. With its restaurant, bar, sun loungers, beach umbrellas, inflatable water slides and trampolines in the sea, rope swing, and reliable wifi, it's an ideal spot for a relaxed day by the ocean.
Lovely beach and snorkeling was an experience although no turtles were seen. Plenty of beautiful fish though. Food and drinks on the pricey side but only like everywhere in Barbados. We keep forgetting that Taxes etc are added on to the prices which doesn't help. The coconut shrimps though, they were to die for they were so big and delicious, well worth trying those. On the whole this place was worth the money and a lovely safe environment to sunbathe and swim.
Katherine W — Google review
Located on Bay Street, Bridgetown, The Boatyard is the ideal spot for calm waters, white sandy beaches, great food and drinks, along with activities for both kids and adults. If you are staying on the south coast, it is a straightforward drive along the coast to Bridgetown, St. Michael. It is also in close proximity to the cruise ship port making it a great spot to spend a few hours when your ship is docked. The entrance fee includes credit towards food and drinks up to a specific amount. The amenities and activities include snorkeling and rope swings but if you would rather relax, they are plenty of chairs and umbrellas available. This wasn't our first time to the Boatyard and I must say that they have definitely stepped their game up with lunch. Everything that we ordered was 5 star quality. I truly do not think that you can find better fishcakes on the island. You will also have to pay close attention to the signs on the walls - you might just giggle at some of them. Overall it was a great experience and will definitely return on our next trip to Barbados. PROS - Beautiful beaches - Great food selection and quality - Great drinks - Good value for money - Wide range of activities included in entrance fee - Short distance from the cruise ship port CONS - Parking can be dicey depending on the time of day - You may have to wait up to 45 minutes for food depending on the time of day

This is a really nice place. Delicious cocktails, affordable prices, and breathtaking water. The Boatyard Day Pass includes return tokens that you can spend at the bar and restaurant, along with beach chairs and umbrellas, a 45-minute snorkeling tour, and equipment.

The mango daiquiri was so good. I could taste it in my mind long after . My food was great too. Beautiful atmosphere. The money remaining on the ticket can’t buy you a proper meal. They should probably remove that 🤷🏽‍♀️. Loved the place though.

Great time at the boatyard. Spent the entire day with my family of 7 here. Looks like prices went up in the last few months. Atmosphere was great, friendly staff, food was pretty good, drinks were delicious. The kids had a great snorkel adventure and loved the 2 bounce trampolines. Bathrooms were clean I was on crutches and didn’t have any issues getting around.
James F — Google review
The Boatyard really worked for us. We found it to be the most organised of the beach clubs we attended. They have towels to rent which we found useful. Great that the boat trip is available and included. Amazing to see the fish and the wreck. Deals on beer at the bar. Good restaurant with nice seating to get away from the sun if you want it. Good toilet facilities that were always being cleaned. Friendly staff and really enjoyed our day here
David V — Google review
We went here recently after a holiday to Barbados. We went to Pebble beach at around 6 am to watch the race horses being bathed in the water and then went into Bridgetown to explore the city. Following this we went to the boatyard at around 9:30 am. For 70 Barbadian Dollars per person (around 30 GBP) we thought the price was very worthwhile considering you get 40 Barbadian dollars per person on a card to spend on food and drinks + a trip snorkelling at the shipwrecks in Carlisle Bay. the Bathrooms weren’t the best. In the men’s there was one cubicle and 2 urinals. However you don’t spend much time in them so it’s not an issue. The beach is absolutely beautiful and there were plenty of sun loungers available for all guests. The Snorkelling trip was just incredible. We went about 20-30 mins in the water looking at the fish and the wreck. 2 stingrays and a tarpon showed themselves briefly. Once we got onto the boat a turtle came right up to the guide who was still in the water at the time. The food was absolutely incredible. Coconut shrimp especially was to die for. We had such a great time there we went there twice!
Callum M — Google review
The beach itself is breathtaking. The bar is a bit pricey, $8 fry pricey. The $35 entry isn't bad for what's included. Happy hour before 12pm 2 for 1.

This was our 4th restaurant for dinner on our vacation and it was THE BEST. We met Omar at the door, we didn’t have a reservation but he took amazing care of us and we sat upstairs on the balcony. The service he provided was amazing from start to finish. The rest of the staff was equally kind and helpful. If you have only 1 night to eat out, CK is the place you want to go! Trust me. D D — Google review
Yesterday we had dinner at this restaurant that was recommended by the hotel since we had visited other restaurants. Upon arrival we were assigned to the rooftop and were served by a waiter named Omar who was a bit rude and I felt he was a bit biased and somewhat discriminatory. He gave us such a grotesque welcome, rushing us and forcing us to order everything at once when we hadn't even looked at the menu. The table they gave us was not in good condition. I asked him to please change it and he said he couldn't, to which I told him that I would leave because I wouldn't be able to eat like that. He then proceeded to fix it. His attitude was so pedantic that all I wanted to do was leave but I didn't because it was my sister's birthday. He didn't throw water on the table without asking permission. His treatment was in very bad taste. Then we decided to ignore him. Every time I asked something he answered me in a bad way and pretended he didn't understand or hear something. The food was delicious... Then he told us that the kitchen closed at 9 pm when no one told us that. I made the reservation, no one warned me and we made the reservation at 8:30. If it weren't for the food, which was delicious, I would have given them one star. At the end of the night, when "Omar," that's the waiter's name, was ready and happy to leave, he approached us and we spoke to him very kindly, but his treatment of us was horrible. Only because him I gave 2 starts

CK did not disappoint! The food was excellent, delicious mouth-watering goodness. I especially enjoyed the breadfruit appetizer and the seafood curry. The braised oxtail starter and the pulled pork with bajan bakes were also very yummy. The cocktails 🍸were next level. I'll definitely be back.

This 1700s plantation home offers tours of the house and grounds, including access to hidden tunnels and a gallery displaying artifacts related to Barbados' history, particularly its connection to slavery. Conveniently located on the main coastal road in Hastings, it serves as an ideal base for exploring the island.
What a cool visit—and a history lesson rolled into one! They show a short movie every 20 minutes or so, giving you some great insight into what George went through before and during his time on the island. We didn’t get a chance to check out the café, but it looked pretty inviting, and plenty of people were enjoying food and drinks outside. Restrooms are on site and are clean. Oh, and don’t miss the super narrow underground tunnel you can walk through—it leads you right out to the parking lot!

James was an excellent tour guide. Definitely visit this place if you are in Bridgetown and make sure to do the full Barbados Garrison tour.

It is too expensive to get in, but was still worth visiting especially jf you’re interested in US history. I recommend starting from the 15 minute movie then making your way to the house with the audio guide. The tunnel was very interesting if you’re mot claustrophobic. The house itself is slightly underwhelming.

At $20 USD, the admission is a bit steep, but I understand how funds are needed to maintain this historic site. I came near to closing time but they very kindly let me in! I was really impressed with the high quality of the displays and descriptions - perfect balance of information without being too long and tedious. Interesting personal stories of George Washington, his brother Lawrence, and the people of that time, which captures our attention. The audio guide was clear and again, informative while being brief. The tunnels are a bonus adventure! I recommend a visit here if you are in Barbados.

Enjoyed this museum. Nice slow pace to wander around in with commentary at each location. Film in their diddy cinema, which had aircon, was very interesting too.

A fantastic insight into the early life of George Washington and how his visit to Barbados when he was just 19/20 helped forge who he would become in later life ☺️ They also have a gift shop and restaurant and a lovely cat 😁

Historic location. Easy walk through the property. Electronic guides in a variety of languages available. Stop buying the coffee shop after the tour.

Wonderful place to visit if you're interested in history. You'll get a handheld audio guide and can explore the place where the Washington brothers stayed while in Barbados, as well as learn a lot about their good and not so good parts of their lives. There's also a cafe nearby that serves good food and drinks.

Nestled on the outskirts of Bridgetown, Copacabana Beach Club is a vibrant destination that promises an unforgettable experience for those who love fun and music. This lively beach bar and nightclub boasts a fantastic atmosphere with amenities like beach chairs, bars, and shower facilities. Guests can indulge in delicious food from a celebrated local chef while enjoying outdoor dining right by the calm waters of Carlisle Bay. The club is perfect for families and offers excellent snorkeling opportunities nearby.
Beautiful Beach Club with great staff – but tour operator (the Crane Resort) let us down We had a lovely day at Copacabana Beach Club and would definitely recommend it to others visiting Barbados. The bar staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the iced coffee was perfect for cooling down on a sunny beach day. The facilities were clean and well-maintained. The air-conditioned restrooms and changing rooms were a pleasant surprise, even offering sunscreen for guests who may have forgotten theirs – a thoughtful touch! The beach itself is stunning, with soft white sand and crystal-clear turquoise water – exactly what you dream of when coming to the Caribbean. Unfortunately, our visit was part of a group tour from The Crane Hotel, and the return trip didn’t go as planned. The organizer told us to meet front of the Club at 3 PM. We were there a 3 minutes before, but the bus had already left – without 4 of us. When we asked the Crane Hotel staff for help contacting the driver or hotel, they refused and told us to take a taxi back at our own expense (about $50 USD). They took no responsibility, which was very disappointing. We wasted an hour of our time trying to organize the return. Luckily, the Copacabana team stepped in and helped us out. Although the receptionist initially threw up her hands, saying there was nothing more she could do, once we insisted it wasn’t our fault and that we expected a better solution, the manager came over – and she was the one who actually helped. She organized a ride back to our hotel, and we’re especially grateful to Rico, who kindly drove us himself. Huge thanks to him and the other manager for their professionalism and support! A couple of things to keep in mind: the food prices are on the higher side – for example, we paid $36 for just four small shrimps. Also, although it’s a private section of the beach, there were a few vendors approaching guests with offers for tours or jewelry. It didn’t ruin the experience, but could be annoying for some people expecting total privacy. Overall, it was a nice experience at Copacabana Beach Club. Just make sure to double-check your transport if you’re coming as part of a group tour!

We had to go try this place to see if it was worth it the attention was given. So for 30$ you get an umbrella and a place to sit. In this is a $25 food voucher. The first row by the front beach was open but we were placed in the end, when l asked we were told it was occupied even tho no one was there. By 3.30pm they start picking up chairs and umbrellas basically kicking us out. Still the front row was still empty. Food not much choice and very greasy 😞. Fries soaked in oil. See picture. Drink mixed nicely. This place is more for the quick sit down for people that arrive from cruisers that don't need much. A few blocks away was another place with a similar offer but much better organized.

My 'premium' experience was a complete disaster from start to finish. It began with bad customer service at reception, setting a poor tone for the day. Despite paying for premium, I then endured an unacceptable wait of over an hour while other customers, who appeared to be white, were consistently prioritized. The issues continued on the beach: I had to argue with the beach attendant just to get my chairs set up. To make matters worse, he then proceeded to assist other white individuals before completing my setup. This pattern of service, where I felt overlooked and deprioritized based on race, is deeply concerning and frankly, not cool. To top it all off, there was no coffee available at 10:30 AM, and still none by 11:30 AM, forcing me to leave the premises just to get a basic drink. This entire experience fell far short of premium and was incredibly disappointing

A Perfect Beach Day at Copacabana – Barbados Bliss! We had an amazing time at Copacabana Beach Club in Barbados! The beach was absolutely stunning — crystal-clear waters, soft sand, and vibrant blue skies on a beautiful sunny day. We even spotted turtles swimming nearby, which was such a magical touch. We paid $60 BBD for the premium beachfront oasis, which included comfy lounge chairs, umbrellas, showers, bathrooms, and towels — totally worth it! Food wasn’t included, but they offer food voucher packages, and we loved sampling the delicious local dishes from nearby food trucks. The refreshing coconuts were a highlight — sweet, ice-cold, and perfect for the heat. The vibes were amazing, and we even made a few new friends while hanging with the friendly locals. Truly an unforgettable beach day!

Great beach. Friendly wait staff. Reasonable prices on chairs umbrellas and drinks and food. Easy to walk. Only downfall is all the people asking about snorkeling and jet skies.
Jason S — Google review
Drinks are fairly priced and the beach is the best on the island in my opinion. The people selling boat tours and jet ski rides can be annoying but you will likely find that at most popular beaches in Barbados.

Very friendly and attentive staff. Firstly, the bathrooms are really clean and well kept, that says a lot. Drinks are always strong 🤣 and the beach area is well kept. Grab a chair and relax. Food, if the beef tacos are on the menu... please give them a go

Spent a wonderful couple of hours here with the kids, grazing on various small plates and drinking a few of their namesake lagers. A couple of favourites from the menu were the Pork Bites and Bajan fishcakes. The service was excellent, and they helped me get a taxi when it was time to leave, too. Highly recommend this place - and it goes without saying that the beach is absolutely beautiful!

GREAT location, right on the beach. Service is friendly and efficient. The food is cooked very well and tastes great. Prices are very affordable. There is a DJ with music at a level where you can still converse and a lively late night bar scene. Great place for singles, couples, or families with children young and old.

The Buljol is a must! The Chef here is creative and everything is delicious! 10 stars! Did I mention the view.
Parris B — Google review
This is such a lovely place. I stayed here all day working on my dissertation and it's definitely popular with tourist and families as a lot of different groups came through and one big group was actually there before I came and wasn't gone when I left! The food was really good - I got the buljol, which was super delicious, and a small pizza which was also pretty good. The tomato sauce tasted a bit sweet for me but it's definitely one of the best pizzas I've had here so far (altho most pizza places have been bad so take that as you will.) Prices for food and drinks were very reasonable and the staff were so lovely and attentive. Particularly a waitress with short hair and a bartender who I think had a dreaded ponytail. I didn't catch either of their names but they were both so so nice and friendly. 100% recommend this place. Will definitely be back if I can!

I didn't have the food, but heard people who had the buffet saying how wonderful it was. This place is all about the Location & atmosphere. Set right on Worthing Beach, it is a popular meeting & party place. Drinks, including Fabulous cocktails Flow. Mr Impact gets everyone up dancing and is a great steel pan player too. Highly recommend everyone experiences this whilst in Barbados especially on a Sunday afternoon.

I was a little apprehensive of this place as I'd heard and read that the English lady that owns it is known to be very rude to customers and staff. However, I did not witness this and even had a chat with her. The servers were all very friendly. Visited on BBQ day which was very nice, you pay for a plate, choose fish, chicken or beef all served fresh him the BBQ with lots of salad, potatoes and so on. We arrived fairly early in the day and were rewarded with outstanding beach access, the fallen palm trees forming a small private cove, it was beautiful. Beware of the tide, it comes in very high in this area, and at quite a rate. You will need to move right up high on the banks or your possessions will succumb to the Caribbean.

Best rum punch on the island. Great happy hour for them too. Be sure to get some fish cakes and enjoy the sunset. No frills beach bar with great food and drink. Even got engaged on the beach in front for the sunset. Highly recommend

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! SCAMMERS! We went for happy hour and there was no one there. Ordered rum punch which we were told was on the happy hour menu prior to ordering. They ended up charging us double. We asked for the correct change and they told us that we were crazy. Terrible people. I hope they know what goes around comes around.

Absolutely shocking service. Walked past the sign on the road with COCKTAILS on it,so decided do pop in for a cocktail. It was happy hour so happy days. Had two drinks and went to pay and were told the rum sours were not on the happy hour list. We were never given a happy hour menu, never told there was exceptions and when we spoke to the owner she said “most people know that”. Besides us not being actual mind readers, she also said “well it’s on the board out there but somebody rubbed it off”. For such a gorgeous location the place was empty, and now I see why. Avoid like the plague unless you are prepared for a grumpy oul wan.

Discover an unforgettable underwater adventure with Atlantis Submarines in Barbados. Experience the thrill of diving 150 feet below the surface during sunset, witnessing marine life at its most active. As darkness falls, the submarine's lights are turned off, revealing a mesmerizing shipwreck (often) and allowing you to witness the beauty of the ocean's nocturnal inhabitants. It's an amazing experience filled with stunning fish and coral that will leave you in awe.
This was a fantastic first-time submarine experience! From the moment I checked in, Sherry-Ann and Cedrica gave the warmest welcome — they were incredibly kind and friendly. Once on the boat, Rashid and his colleague (I think his name started with T) were great hosts, and the pilot did an excellent job guiding the submarine and keeping us all at ease. It was amazing to see the shipwreck and a variety of fish from underwater. While we didn’t spot any large fish due to the coral situation, it was still a unique and memorable experience that I’d highly recommend.
P M — Google review
What an experience! If you're hesitant, don't! Just go for it! We saw plenty of different fish, sea turtles, corals, a ship wrecked, and plenty more. All these things were supported with knowledgeable comments from a crew, hilarious jokes, and a bunch of smiles from the crowd. There is a quick boat ride to the submarine, around 10 minutes. Perfect time to learn a safety protocol. The submarine runs smoothly as a knife in a butter. I didn't feel any pressure differences during any maneuver, neither while descending, turning nor ascending. There is plenty of space inside. Everyone gets its own portholes. Just sit and enjoy the beauty of the ocean.
Arkady G — Google review
The submarine is located in Kensington. The experience was awesome. As we went further to the bottom of the ocean the natural colors in the submarine changed. The tour guides were very informative and funny at the same time …felt we were in a comedy show…not boring at all nor scary…There were a variety of fishes. We also saw turtles, beautiful coral reefs and a ship wreckage.Unfortunately the camera could not capture the full beauty of the ocean. ❤️🇬🇾
Gaitrie L — Google review
Seeing all the fishies made me feel a little bad about going Oistins on the regular. Nevertheless it was a fantastic experience - the staff were very energetic and friendly and made this tour enjoyable. Just a note though, if you are easily prone to getting seasick I would highly recommend taking whatever supplements you prefer because the boat ride to the sub made me feel like I was on a different planet

We had such a great time on the submarine tour! The whole crew was super friendly, knowledgeable, and really made the experience enjoyable from start to finish. They explained everything clearly, answered all our questions, and made the whole trip feel relaxed and fun. Would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a fun and memorable activity. Big thanks to the awesome team
Nicole C — Google review
The crew members were both informative and entertaining on this underwater adventure, which takes you to see a shipwreck and coral reef up close at a depth of up to 150 feet. Definitely make sure to book in advance and book by directly calling Atlantis Submarines (I got a discount that lasts until the end of July if you call them directly).
Konrad N — Google review
A fantastic and unique experience! Going underwater in a real submarine was a thrill for both the kids and adults. We saw shipwrecks, colourful coral reefs and loads of tropical fish! The crew were knowledgeable, friendly, and kept us entertained the whole time. It’s an amazing way to see a side of Barbados that you’d otherwise miss. Definitely one for the bucket list when visiting the island.

This was an incredible experience. If you are visiting Barbados this is a must visit. The crew took their safety very seriously and they were so friendly and knowledgeable. Fine dining restaurant
Champers Restaurant in Barbados is a top dining spot on the South Coast, offering a delightful culinary experience with its creative Caribbean-inspired menu and stunning cliffside location. The restaurant provides panoramic ocean views and a welcoming atmosphere, complemented by an in-house gallery showcasing local artists' works. Diners can savor hearty portions of Bajan fried flying fish with caper dressing, West Indian chicken curry, lionfish, or herb-crusted rack of lamb while enjoying the relaxing Caribbean ambiance.
We had a truly wonderful experience at Champers. The ambience and setting were absolutely stunning - peaceful, serene, and almost surreal. The food was exquisite, perfectly prepared, perfectly presented and full of flavor. We enjoyed our first visit so much that we returned a few days later to relive the experience before our trip ended, and once again, both the service and the food were exceptional. On our first visit, we were served by Sandra, who was warm, attentive, and professional. Her friendly demeanor and genuine care made us feel incredibly welcome. She consistently checked in on us and provided outstanding service - she is truly an asset to the restaurant. The staff on our second visit were also welcoming. We chose the three-course set lunch menu, and every dish was superb. From the coconut shrimp to the tacos and the tender lamb shank that melted in our mouths, each bite was a party in our mouths. The desserts were extraordinary - especially the white chocolate cheesecake, coconut pie, and the double chocolate cheesecake. I was celebrating my birthday, and the team went above and beyond to make it special. Sandra brought out a dessert plate with a sparkler and I even received a customized paper card menu with my name and birthday date, which I took home as a keepsake. The restaurant and its facilities were spotless and beautifully maintained. The restroom was clean and tastefully decorated, with lovely artwork throughout the space. The view was breathtaking, and even the entrance made a great impression.

Another amazing restaurant, where ambience, service, food and views are all what you expect for a fine dining restaurant. Had a lovely 3 course evening meal here. Pre-booked and a table on the sea front. They'd specially prepared printed menus due to our anniversary, and brought out a sparkle and cake at the end as well. Food was exquisite. Lamb shank just melted off the bone as you expect, parents were excellent. Sea bass was divine, and shrimp curry was awesome. They staff were attentive and left us alone as well, to enjoy the evening and weren't rushed. Overall a lovely evening out.

Champers is a gorgeous restaurant that truly delivers on every level. The food was amazing and absolutely lived up to the high standards I’d heard about. The staff were warm, friendly, and made the entire experience even more enjoyable. For the quality and ambiance, I also found the prices to be quite reasonable. We visited for a belated celebration, and I loved the thoughtful touch of their custom menus. It was the cutest surprise and made the evening feel extra special. Cheers to Champers for a wonderful dining experience!

The food, drinks, and service were all excellent—everything we ordered was delicious and beautifully presented, and the staff was friendly and professional. The only downside is that they get very busy, so it can be tough to get a reservation. But once you’re in, it’s a fantastic dining experience. Highly recommend planning ahead!

Champers is the "over the top" experience but completely worth it for a romantic evening while watching the sunset and sipping on cocktails. Very satisfying experience with thoughtful touches to the many dishes. Stellar service. Usually busy and need reservations early to guarantee a table. You will spend money but leave completely fulfilled.

Champers ranks in our top 5 of all time restaurant experience. We were there for our 39th wedding anniversary, and we were received with great love. Service , food ,and attention to details, was off the chart. If you are in Barbados, it is a must stop. My wife had the Salmon and I the crusted Barracuda...wow! Cannot praise or give a finer endorsement. Champers is just that good.
Marco A — Google review
Wonderful, wonderful service and excellent food. I came here to celebrate the start of my doctorate. They customized the menu to have "congrats Natasha" on it. They brought me a brownie with a celebratory sparkler in it on the house. My water glass was never empty and we were waited on consistently. Of course, my food was impeccable. I took a photo (a bad one) of some salmon that was cut like butter - I never touched my knife - a half eaten photo of my cheesecake because dinner was so good I forgot about my social media posts, and my celebratory brownie. The service in Barbados is typically above average, but my experience here has raised the bar and spoilt me.

We had an absolutely fabulous time at this restaurant. The food was great. The service was spectacular and the atmosphere was out of this world! Very nice little restaurant with seating upstairs downstairs and out on the boardwalk. I definitely recommend sitting upstairs so you have a great view of the ocean. The sound of the waves while you’re having dinner is fantastic. Kids portions are great, I have a recommend the Cornish hen, Fish of the Day- Barbados style, and the seafood risotto. For dessert, we recommend the tiramisu and lava cake. Everything was delicious! Our waiter was fantastic and extremely attentive. I highly recommend asking for Jaylin as your server. We enjoyed having him thoroughly.

This restaurant has a perfect location on the seafront that is just a good reason to visit. Food (like in most Barbados restaurants) is nothing special. The salt & pepper shrimps were good but served with a sweet & chilli sauce straight out of a bottle. The croquettes filling was an interest twist but the heavy panko coating overpowered them, their dipping sauce was tasteless. Mahi mahi was ok but quite dry, it could have done with a sauce or pan jus as the pineapple salsa was tasty but dry too! The service was surprisingly quite professional, our waiter did all the right things but it felt a bit brusk perhaps because of the all male waiting team. Overall considering Barbados’ limited quality restaurants options, this is a place to go just because of the view.

Very nice stroll along the beach, beautiful views! Great for morning runs as well.

Lovely 3a.m. walk, but the board walk should have the lamps/path lights on. Its pitch black. Only nice for star gazing, not good for safety.
Claire L — Google review
Great place to walk or run. Stunning views. Either go early in the morning or after 4pm when it is slightly less hot, remember to carry a bottle of water, you will need it. Stay to view the sunset.
Chibwe M — Google review
Amazingggg sunset views! Very safe and not overly crowded.
Drona N — Google review
This is a boardwalk alongside a beach, great for gentle strolls or just looking out at the Caribbean sea. Most of the beach near the boardwalk is usually empty, so the boardwalk is also low traffic. A few issues, the boardwalk is short, not long enough for a decent run. Another issue is that you can't easilyrun on the boardwalk and then continue your run on the road. Given the length, I think this is best reserved for leisurely strolls, rather than anything strenuous.
Akintayo H — Google review
We had a beautiful walk along the boardwalk. The breeze was a welcome respite from the heat. Some of the boardwalk had been ravished by hurricane Beryl but there were workman fixing parts of it. The South Coast is beautiful.
Dee D — Google review
Very nice artwork along the walk and a scenic, easy stroll for a while along the southwest beaches. Keep an eye open for crabs and lizards, too! There are a few points at which the boards have a gap with potentially wet sand, so be careful if you care deeply about your shoes!

The Tiki Bar in Barbados is a beachfront oasis located on the South Coast, offering a laid-back island experience with its tropical decor and vibrant ambiance. Known as the home of the rumheads, this bar serves up a variety of tropical cocktails, including unique mixes, and even offers drinks served in coconuts for an authentic island feel. With its Polynesian interior and live music, The Tiki Bar provides a blend of daytime relaxation and nighttime entertainment.
Sep 2024 - Best chair, umbrella, and beach experience on Rockly Beach. Check out my pics for details and views. The food is good bar food. The service was great today. Shout our to Zack for taking care of the family & friends today. The atmosphere was sandy, windy, and wavy with food and drinks. So fantastic!

Spent very enjoyable afternoons that lead into evenings in this gem of a place. The food hits the spot. The drinks are most refreshing. The location is amazing. Kids were swimming in the bay while the adults were knocking it back making their way through the extensive array of rum cocktail concoctions on offer. Beautiful spot on the island to enjoy gazing into the far distance of the endless blue waters and catch a beautiful sunset just as more cocktails arrive at the table. The staff are a beautiful friendly bunch.

Decent bar by the beach,. Went here for a few drinks in the afternoon before making our way to dinner down the road. Nice atmosphere, lots of tables, great selection of rum cocktails. Food wasn't all that, but it's more of a drinking place than an eatery. We had some nachos and chicken wings and they were ok at best. Good vibe, and there was a wedding going on over on the beach, so a few guests were hanging at the bar.
Naz N — Google review
OMG!! Perfect in every possible manner! Delicious fresh food, including the crunchy salad greens, phenomenal cocktails! The ‘heat wave’ cocktail was very popular in our group! The server actually came to our table after we ordered to ask my choice of cheese-the one and only place in Barbados that this happened! Superb, classy place. The sound of waves crashing, music and laughter… could we ask for more?
Benu C — Google review
Great location on the beach and can highly recommend the rum punch or bucket of beers. The food is ok/good but meets the needs of a value option on the beach. I had the fish cakes, chicken satay, while the children had chicken and chips.
Joe H — Google review
You can't beat the location, your next to the beach, and you have a great view of the Caribbean sea. Day or night, this is the main draw of this location. The actual bar is also well designed, big patio and a pretty approach. Service is good, my hostess and waitress, proactively helped me find the drinks on their online menu. The food is okay, I got fish cakes and fries, but the fish cakes were more dough than fish.
Akintayo H — Google review
Omg! Best cocktails, cold local beer, best bartenders, best food, beautiful beach! Thank you for the great business🙏
Arkady G — Google review
The Tiki Bar is a great beachside spot to eat, drink, and just chill. We really enjoyed the buckets of beer and the Catch of the Day with fries – fresh, simple, and hit the spot after some time in the sun. We were really hoping to try the fish cakes and Buljol, but unfortunately, they were out each time we came by. Bit of a letdown, but hopefully next time! Overall, it’s a solid hangout right on the beach – great vibes, cold drinks, and the perfect place to unwind by the water.

Pat's Place is a local Barbadian restaurant that is known for their fried fish and grilled fish. The sides here are also very good, with roasted potatoes, breadfruit, and plantains being some of the favorites. The atmosphere at Pat's Place is welcoming and relaxed, making it a great place to enjoy a meal with friends.
Lovely fresh bbq fish. Had some beautiful sword fish here. Theres no table service here and waits here Friday night can easily go over 1h to place your order at the shack. Then you physically have to stand and wait for the chef to place you fishing your container from the bbq. Potions here are very generous and food is delicious. My advice would be to come down Sunday evening, its much quieter and there a karaoke on the beach front.

We came on a Friday night around 7:30 pm and saw a line forming, so we figured we’d join in, given the hype about this being ‘the best spot.’ Ended up waiting about 1 hour and 15 minutes before finally ordering. We got the swordfish plate with mac pie and coleslaw, and the shrimp with rice, beans, and coleslaw. Honestly, it wasn’t worth the wait. The swordfish plate was good , priced fairly, and came with a generous portion, but waiting over an hour for it? Definitely not. There are plenty of spots in Oistins that could serve something just as good without the long line. The real disappointment was the shrimp. Unfortunately, I didn’t get a photo, but it was just 6 shrimp that were so overcooked they were practically falling apart. It was definitely not what I expected from a place with such a reputation. Overall, it didn’t live up to the hype. There are other spots nearby where you can get a good meal without such a long wait.
Cedric C — Google review
The queue can be crazy on Friday’s around 7pm when I was there but it’s totally worth the wait. I tried Mahi-mahi and it tasted amazing and was without any bones. The portions are huge! It was so good I had to come back the following day!

An Unforgettable Experience at Oistins Fish Fry! I had an amazing time at Oistins Fish Fry! I tried Pat’s fish and it was hands down the best fish I’ve ever had—fresh, perfectly seasoned, and grilled to perfection. The atmosphere was full of energy, with music, dancing, and a great mix of locals and visitors. It was the perfect blend of delicious food and authentic island vibes. Oistins isn’t just about the food—it’s the whole experience. We had a wonderful evening soaking in the culture, chatting with friendly people, and enjoying the lively entertainment. If you’re in Barbados, don’t miss this place—especially Pat’s!

Went to the Friday Oistins Fish Fry and Pat’s Place since it comes out best recommended. Ordered the Dolphin / Mahi Mahi and it was absolutely lovely. The internet didn’t lie ! One pic shows the menu and the Mahi Mahi was BBD 35. Huge portion. I got it with rice and peas and tossed salad (one main one side) which is in the price. My wife had the tossed salad, some rice and some of the fish and it was still really filling. Queue was about 35 mins and we arrived about 6:30pm in the queue after watching the sunset. When we finished queue remained about as long. And August is pretty low season !
Paul F — Google review
Friday nights are always buzzing — definitely worth a visit just to soak up the atmosphere. There’s plenty of noise, music, people, and good vibes all around. Pat’s stall had the longest queue, and for good reason — the fried fish was delicious, and the swordfish was thick and meaty, almost like a steak. Portions were generous, and the service was excellent. The staff were especially thoughtful with families, even moving them to a separate line to make things easier. With so many options available, it’s hard to say how much the food really differs, but the experience alone makes it worthwhile.
Mo — Google review
Friday lineups are really long for this spot so I didn’t even attempt it the first time I went to the fish fry. I waited for mid-week and the line was WAY more reasonable, maybe 15-20 mins. Ordered the swordfish, Mac pie and coleslaw, hot sauce on the side. 35BBD total. It was perfect - grilled well, generous portion. Highly recommend! Would suggest a weekday so you can avoid the long lineup.
Sumentha D — Google review
Family lunch yesterday was excellent. No line for a late lunch around 3:30p. We had plates of fried chicken, flying fish and mahi mahi. All were well seasoned and fresh. The mahi mahi fresh off the grill was some of the best we’ve ever had. Staff was nice and the chef on the grill was especially friendly and very conscientious and caring about his grilling. Excellent! (Forgot to get a pic of the mahi mahi but it was a very large portion as was everything.)

Located on the picturesque Batts Rock Beach, La Cabane is a charming beachfront restaurant with a bohemian vibe. The open-air layout and relaxed atmosphere make it an ideal spot to savor locally sourced dishes while enjoying the ocean views. This popular venue offers a variety of grilled meats, fresh seafood, and refreshing salads, along with creative cocktails.
The atmosphere was great. Sitting right on the beach, the chill vibe really comes through. The service was very friendly and I felt very comfortable. Food wise, everything was great, and we recommend the fish tacos and ceviche for starters. The chicken with the sauce was so delicious and definitely get the plantains. Our only fallback was on the desserts; we got the chocolate orange tart and cheesecake and they were good but not outstanding. Thank you for having us and we hope to be back. 8.8/10

Absolutely love this place. (Note it is closed until October. This is must do if you are over this way in Barbados. We went twice. First time was a walk in at lunch. From the beach. It was quiet and we were accommodated without any issues. The second time was an evening meal that coincided with sunset. Which is a must do if you get the chance. (Do book this time). We went twice which say it all. The food honestly is fantastic. So many options but the fish of the day was choice for me. It has a great drinks menu. The location/setting is superb, but you are on a sandy beach in the elements. So you might encounter flies but they have fly fans to help. So prepare for that. Lastly the staff are great, very attentive and helpful. This is my dream location to eat. I am so happy we discovered this place from a recommendation from our local taxi driver.

This cool, right on the beach bar and restaurant is the perfect place to watch the sunsetting and enjoy a cocktail, food, live music and friendly service. It has a wonderfully relaxed feel. The menu is limited but the food is good if rather secondary to the great location on Batts Rock Beach. La Cabane is the only venue on this beach and has plenty of parking. There are serviced, clean but basic toilet facilities. Book a table if the sunset is your aim but the lighting and atmosphere are great after dark too. It’s a must visit destination.

Museums
The Barbados Museum & Historical Society offers a captivating journey through the rich heritage and culture of Barbados. Housed in a 19th-century British Military Prison, the museum features seven galleries showcasing diverse collections, including rare antique maps, 18th-century plantation house furnishings, Amerindian artifacts, and a well-preserved prison cell. Visitors can also explore an interactive gallery for children and browse a superb gift shop offering West Indian books, paintings, jewelry, and Barbadian crafts.
Pros: Rihanna's Umbrella ☔ at start. 😆 Great history lesson and inspiring geo, plant, animal and human life that contributed to this island. Bravo on a great display of history and labelled well. I think this is a must see and didn't mind any heat as it was warm but not too hot. Cons: Restrict photos in some rooms but you can take nature and photos of scenic area.
Dylan S — Google review
An interesting place to visit for some history and background to Barbados. Lots of exhibits but the inside galleries are very hot and humid so you tend not to dwell too long on them. Fans definitely need to be installed. Some galleries were locked. Nice grounds.
Sue G — Google review
Very interesting museum, has detailed info on all the history of Barbados and its nature. Very recommended to visit if you want to know more about the island. Not all the interactive installations in the museum worked properly, however this will not impact negatively your visit.
Lorenzo P — Google review
As others have said the museum is unbearably hot. Half of the ceiling fans were not working which meant we were dripping sweat. It’s a shame because we were enjoying learning so much but it was too hot! A few of the exhibits do have AC which was nice. The main parts of the museum is a bit dated so it’s time for a refresh but overall the content was good.
Kate R — Google review
A great museum to get an introduction into Barbados. The only negative is that one part of the museum can only be seen through glass from the outside!

The Nidhe Israel Synagogue & Museum is a significant historical site in Barbados, featuring a restored synagogue dating back to the early 19th century. It stands on the grounds of an earlier 17th-century synagogue and is one of the oldest in the Americas. Designated as a UNESCO protected property, it holds great importance in representing the island's Jewish history. The adjacent cemetery adds to its historical significance.
We visited this Synagogue many years ago as a family before it was a historical site and went back in January of 2024 to honor my mother who died October 7. She was a genealogist and historian and loved Barbados. It brought me so much peace to be able to sit on the bench in the courtyard and say a prayer for her and talk to her. It filled a hole in my heart and healed my soul just a little. This is a beautiful synagogue and is the oldest synagogue in the western hemisphere. Jewish people were instrumental in the development of the rum trade in the Caribbean and we should be proud of that! The mikveh was also very special. If you are in Barbados definitely come see this beautiful place!

The Synagogue Historic District has become a very popular tourist attraction to all who visits...including a walking tour through Bridgetown, there's an entrance fee to visit the museum and grounds along with a parking lot for your convenience. The area is clean and well maintained, inside one of the structures on-site is a cafe and art gallery, I especially love the way the developers has kept the true essence of this site by incorporating the old charm with the new in this historical district. The artisans shops of old once housed the same businesses as there is today, the original entrance to the Synagogue is situated on Synagogue Lane with the repurposing of the original door is quite interesting while keeping a bit of the old wall structure of the building. This area is nestled between Coleridge Street, James Street and Synagogue Lane...and was developed and restored to incorporate the Synagogue & museum, the Codd's House Monument, the Fire Brigade House and the Artisans Shops and its surroundings to commemorate this rich history between 8-10 years ago. During the construction of the artisan shops...it is said a gravesite was discovered and much of the tombstones was in tact written in Jewish & Arabic inscription was something that needed to be preserved. It's good to have this little knowledge of the Jewish heritage and the role they played during 17th century Barbados.

Chill Café Bar & Grill is a laid-back beachfront spot that embodies the essence of island living. With a relaxed atmosphere, it's an ideal place to unwind with a refreshing iced coffee or tropical smoothie while basking in the sun and surf. The menu offers delicious options like marinated salads and standard bar fare at affordable prices. Visitors can enjoy live music on some days and appreciate direct access to the beach, making it perfect for sipping cocktails while watching the sunset over the sea.
We’ve been to Chill Café Bar & Grill twice during our trip to Barbados, and it quickly became a favorite. The fish cakes and fish fingers were absolute dynamite – perfectly seasoned and crispy. We also enjoyed the buckets of beer, which were a great deal, but a word to the wise: go easy on the Rum Punch – two is definitely enough! Service was friendly and relaxed. Shoutout to the staff – one even let me borrow their lighter, which was a nice touch of island hospitality. One night there was a live band, which didn’t quite hit the mark for us or the surrounding tables. For a Caribbean spot, we were hoping for more island vibes rather than soft rock. That said, Chill is a great spot to unwind. Highly recommend for anyone looking to spend a laid-back evening watching the sunset, listening to the waves, and sipping a cold Banks.

Great Spot, the food was delicious but cold except for the loaded fries... The rain poured off and on so the beachside was ruined but the live band was amazing 👏🏾

Come here for the view…literally you sit on the beach! Best view on the south coast that doesn’t require a reservation and cost you $100. (Tapas next door) The fish (of the day) sandwich was okay. Average portion size, fairly fresh, room temp, topped with veggies. 10/10 recommend the sweet potato fries. Super yummy. The service was underwhelming here. The male host who placed me (menu etc) clearly did not want to be here. In fact he didn’t return… he sent his partner. Okay? Remember, service sets the atmosphere for your restaurant. I would def return here but order something different OR come late afternoon for a beachside happy hour.

Great food and great entertainment on both nights we stopped by. Cozy, great ambience, awesome band. Very engaging band leader last time I visited. This may have changed now though. Usually a large crowd on Mondays and Thursdays when this band performs. Jazz singer, CiCi performs there sometimes. Awesome performance!

They advertised live music. They even had a sign outside that said Show Band Tonight. Instead of a band they had two singers with backup tracks. The service was terrible. The waitress never smiled and my cousin had to wait 45 minutes for a hamburger. The drinks my wife and her friend ordered were watered down. When my wife spoke to the manager, she said he was nasty. Went to Bar Cutters which is now at Savvy on the shore. The lamb burger was good. Nice size lamb burger with good flavor. The sauce was good and I liked the colslaw topping. Fries were good and enjoyed the rum sauce. Good Value for what you get. Savvys has its own atmosphere and tables were a plenty on Sunday Night. The bar there has good drinks. And parking is $20 with a $20 credit that can be used at any food truck or the bar.

The Rum Sauce is a MUST TRY! By far the best eatery you can find. We visited the van by Pebbles beach, just behind the Savvy bar. Lovely people, great food. My friend had the ribs and says they are the best he’s ever had anywhere. I’m not a meat eater but the fries and rum sauce are PERFECT! Cannot get any better. Been back again and again. Next barbados visit, we’ll certainly make sure to find this place again.

Well good service however..the size of what the were calling a burger was ridiculously small. The bread was burnt the meat needed seasoning. We came here just by chance. Best price-perfomance ratio in town! Great food and service - the very friendly bar keeper even gave us a ride back to the hotel. Definitely recommend!

Had my first taste of shark here and now I'm in love. The food was awesome and the vibe was A1. My server was Chantell and she was extremely pleasant and welcoming. Will definitely be going back on my next visit to Barbados ❤

I had macaroni pie, pork, and vegetables. From the first bite, I could tell that there was sugar in the food. I went back to the server to inquire and was told that all their food is seasoned with sugar. I paid $26 for a portion of food that I eventually had to throw away! I did appreciate her honesty because of certain health challenges.

Hashtag Bar is a reliable establishment for wings, consistently delivering delicious flavors like honey BBQ and drunken sauce. The fries are also highly enjoyable. However, the drinks may leave something to be desired, particularly considering their price. This aspect can be seen as the main disappointment for some customers. On 18th March, Dale provided excellent service to a group of about twelve people, making their first-time experience memorable and ensuring they will return in the future.
1st time there, the wings were nice, and the rum mixes were good, i.e.. the right blend of me. The host was pleasant and honest in her answers to our questions about menu items. I will visit again to try the other menu items. But a good 1st impression.

I was planning a bachelorette party for a girlfriend of mine and normally they don't open on Tuesdays but Juju, the owner, was nice enough to accomodate us. She was very welcoming when we arrived to decorate and later on in the night, without a doubt we had a good time. The bride-to-be loved Sweet Soca music and she set the mood by playing her preference. The food was on point especially the wings (Drunken Mumba is my favorite) and Juju made sure that we all were comfortable. The drinks were great and that Pink Vodka Lemonade ....still can't get it out of my head......well mixed, I must say. 😁Thanks Juju😁 👍🏼Definitely will be back soon👍🏼

Best Caesar Salad I have had in Barbados. The frozen margarita was quite good. Partner had Fish platter and Pina Colada and was suitably impressed. Lovely to have another choice in the neighbourhood. We will be back.

Hashtag Bar is my go to place for wings - they never disappoint. Absolutely love the honey BBQ and drunken sauce. Fries are really good. The drinks left a lot to be desired especially given the price of them. That was the biggest disappointment for me.

Savvy On The Bay is a family-friendly destination located in the Carlisle Bay area, just outside the capital. It offers a diverse selection of Caribbean and international cuisine, with a mix of food-truck park and beach bar atmosphere. Visitors can rent beach chairs and shared umbrellas for $8, then enjoy drinks at the bar or dine on various options including Bajan dishes, Jamaican jerk chicken, tacos, sandwiches, kebabs, and plant-based choices.
Located right in the beach with great views of the sea. Serving local food and drink. We opted for a seafood salad and a Greek salad. Both very good and plentiful. Washed down with a bottle of the local brew, Banks. Service was a bit slow but this is the Caribbean. Reasonably priced for this location.  5*
Plain S — Google review
Picture perfect beach but facilities and service were just average. Bar area attracted a particular demographic selling their services which could be a bit intimidating and seedy. Food trucks rubbish smell with the heat was quite off putting. Good value offer for chairs and umbrella including a drink.
G C — Google review
Along Carlisle beach you have Savvy, smack in the middle. Walk to your left (towards the Hilton) all along the beach and you come to Browns beach and pebble beach where locals gather. Walk to your right and you have Copacabana, walk further down and you come to the Boatyard beach area with a water slide and swinging ropes off the pier. Great stretch of beach. Savvy have a several pop up food stalls. All have something different to offer. We really like the loaded chicken fries from one of the vendors on your left halfway along. It's a Taco place. We also enjoyed the greek wraps from the vendor on the left before the taco place. Music playing along the side. Benches to sit in the middle and around the front bar and all round can. A good atmosphere. Drinks are expensive and if you go to one of the side local beach bars you can pick them up at a much cheaper price

A truly welcomed addition to the Barbados tourism product, Savvy is a clean and well designed beach oasis to visit on your next stop in paradise island Barbados, with loads of cuisine options to choose from in the food square, there is something to satisfy every appetite. If outdoor eating is your kind of vibe, take a seat under one of the many beach umbrella shaded picnic tables or in the cushioned elevated shaded Pavillion that is petfevtto relax in while sheltering from the hot sun and savouring one of the delicious meals.

Had a great day at Savvy, we walked in with no reservation and there was no problem getting 3 sun loungers and umbrella. We did the boat trip/snorkel and saw lots of fish, turtles and a stingray, the guys on the boat were great fun and even got me to go down the slide into the water…. Something I never thought I’d do… my daughter was impressed! Loved the music whilst we were on the beach sunbathing/swimming. Great atmosphere! Highly recommend a day here!

Visited at night, worth the visit if you understand music history. Pro tip, visit at night so it's not crowded or surrounded by selfie takers, you may even run into some of the neighbours who have been around here for decades and can tell you about their experiences as neighbours to this great singer and a great Barbadoan

Happy to see that it is preserved and shows just where she came from. A nice spot for the Navy to know a little more about their girl. Yes, there is a plaque. Yes, it’s her childhood home. Just like they would do for any other historical figure. Not sure what there is to be disappointed about. It’s also clear that this may have very well been the first time some reviewers ventured off their all-inclusive resort grounds into the streets where the locals live.

If you're passing by then I guess you may. If you are a fan, I guess you will. Shame about the area, but it is the reality. The house is just a memory left of where she grew up...

Very kind staff even if it happens to be crowded. The food was good and it took time to drink a beer before it arrived, nothing new 🙂. The drink was cold every time. I would have liked a better coffee, but good coffee is not a very popular product on the island. 😁

Make sure you confirm the price of what your actually ordering. We got a whole red snapper and we were told it would be $55bbd and with the bill came it was $90bbd as they said the salad, small beans and rice and plantain were not included with the fish but when we ordered they were included. very bad way to do business stay far away

Didn't eat, just drank. They showed British football hence why I went. The most rag tag bunch of staff I ever seen, comically interesting to watch them argue, constantly Beers were nice and normal Barbados prices per bottle.

It was open but empty - so I didn't bother stopping and having a drink. It didn't look a very exciting place and the beach is not very good here.
Chiangmaicharlies — Google review
My wife and i stopped by for a lunch on the beach and have already planned to stop by again tomorrow. The bartender Mark was very friendly and quick to take our orders and keep up with our drink request. It is a simple beach bar but has everything you need from beautiful views to easy access to the beach as well as beach chairs (we did not use these but they were available). We loved the fish cakes and could probably eat them all day. We did not experience the live music as it occurs at night but i could imagine it would be a great time with the waves crashing behind. 10/10 would and will definitely come back.

Enjoyed a great tasting event with my family at the Mountain Gay corporate office. Our presenter did an excellent job sharing the rich history behind Mount Gay rum. Well worth the opportunity if in Barbados.

This is a great way to spend a couple of hours and learn a thing or two along the way. It's worth noting that this is indeed not the actual rum distillery (that's miles away and doesn't generally allow visitors) The tour was great fun and the detailed rum tasting was very informative. Charismatic and fun tour guides too!

First let me mention the bartenders, very friendly and knowledgeable. Shout out to Adrian! The tour guide was also fabulous. I would give her a shout out but can't remember her name. Awesome spot, easy to get to. There is a great gift shop where tee shirts, rum, rum cake and other trinkets can be purchased. The history behind Mount Gay is quite a privilege to learn about, but the taste of the product is even more satisfying.

9th Feb 2025: Second visit. Now I see what all the posive reviews are about. We were served by the very efficient André, he took our drink and food orders. Almost within the blink of an eye, the drinks were on our table. The food arrived not long afterwards which for Barbados is short of a miracle, the staff were really on their game. Settling the bill was a delight, "Scully" the manager took our bill and deducted the cost of all cocktails from the final total as an apology for our failed booking on 4th Feb; this was almost a third of the bill and extremely generous (thank you 🙏🏾) ----------- 4th Feb 2025: First visit. Unfortunately our booking fell through. After some consternation as to whether we had a booking, we were eventually led to a table at which point we were informed that the chef was absent due to sickness and only pizza was available. We decided against that choice and went to an alternative restaurant. I was so looking forward to the lion fish tacos.
Clive W — Google review
We came here three times during our stay, twice for dinner and once for lunch. While I was a bit skeptical after my first meal, the second and third visits definitely changed my mind. The pizza here is the star of the show...the dough is spot on, with that perfect Italian Neapolitan quality. We also tried the daily special fish chowder, which was phenomenal (extra hot with lots of ingredients), and the daily catch on a Greek salad, both were excellent. The ceviche was decent, but the coconut shrimp and crab cakes were a bit disappointing. Overall, the food quality improved with each visit, and the pizza alone is worth coming back for. Glad we gave it another shot

Very cute location by the beach, a little “classy” but casual. Food was good, we had the coconut shrimp and the truffle fries which were VERY good, we also had the fish of the day with greek salad, it wasn’t our favourite but that’s just personal opinion because it was swordfish. Also a nice place if you want to grab a drink and pizza. Atmosphere is nice, music isn’t too loud to chit chat either.
Thia M — Google review
We ordered the fish, catch of the day. I’ve never had worse fish in Barbados, it lacked salt and the good ol bajan seasoning it was described as having. 3 of us ordered fish and it was all the same. We also ordered a couple of pizzas in the “wood fired” oven. They were meh. Could have had one from the freezer section and couldn’t tell the difference. It was bland and lacked salt and flavor. We had the a chicken one, but it only had a 3-4 pieces of chicken. My 15 year old daughter loved the plain cheese pizza, so yah. The drinks were pretty good though. Service was slow and had to ask for water multiple times. The view was nice, that’s the only positive. Will not give it a 2nd try.

The food was good, but I was expecting a little more seasoning for the fried chicken. I don't tend to use hot sauce or pepper sauce. However, the pepper sauce was great with the meat though. The chicken was cooked to a good consistency. I would visit it again. My husband had baked chicken and fried pork chop. Both were good. I really liked the fries. I am not sure if it was because of the grease they used or the salt, but yum.

The starters to share were 5 a piece, our table was 6 persons, when the starters came they were all in 6. I found that impressive that they made sure they were even. I had chicken pasta for my main dish and I ran out of pasta and still had chicken. That was incredible. Overall the experience was great and I would go again.

Mixed views on scarlet, nice interior decor but the food was really slow to arrive and when it did the starter was very bland and the main was over cooked and not very refined. The rum punch had too much lime in it and was incredibly sour. Other people's dishes looked more appealing so maybe it was just a bad one off experience for me.

I always enjoy myself at scarlet. It a very relaxed environment. Tucked away form the rest of the world. The staff is really nice and make you feel as if you are shear a meal among friends. I would keep it a secret but I want them to stay in business for many years.

I loved it. Food was amazing. The staff are pleasant and ensure that you are comfortable. Definitely will visit again. Lgbt friendly and the menu also caters to vegetarians.

My last experience at Scarlet was nothing short of stellar. I was a last minute walk in, with no reservation and with about five minutes left before the kitchen closed with my fingers crossed and thinking I would probably be turned away. Naturally, because of the time. To my surprise, I was greeted warmly, given a seat at a freshly cleaned table and served an amazing dinner. I was able to order dinner, a cocktail while I waited and enjoyed my meal without feeling rushed at all. My every need was handled with a genuine smile from every staff member. Special thanks to the staff at Scarlet and the owners Stephan and Sophie Domenge for giving me a truly fantastic dining experience.

Treated like a rock star and loved it. The food was excellent. They accommodated me as a vegan with the meal and it was fabulous. Totally worth every penny.

Love the atmosphere at Scarlet - the food is very good and the martinis are the best. Friendly staff take excellent care of you and the owner is very hands on. A very busy restaurant so make sure to make advanced reservations.

Although only indoor seating is available (air conditioned, of course), this West coast restaurant is a gem! Reasonably priced, great food, and friendly and attentiveness staff. The walls are all red or mirrored, with alternating large photos of Marilyn Monroe and Jackie Kennedy Onassis. Be sure to consider the nightly specials, although if they don't tickle your fancy their mains are always constantly good. My favourite is their Pesto Chicken Pasta, with Calamari to start.

Jo J's Hostel and Guest House is a delightful retreat that offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere, making it feel like a home away from home. Guests have praised the cleanliness and comfort of the accommodations, whether opting for private or shared rooms. The location is ideal, nestled in a peaceful neighborhood just a short 15-minute stroll to both the beach and local village amenities. Mr.
10/10. Just arrived back in the US and couldn’t write this fast enough. John was incredibly kind and hospitable. An all around good guy and experienced world traveler himself. If you’re looking for a non touristy stay in a centrally located spot on a budget this is perfect. Ice cold AC in the room. 10 minute walk from Miami Beach and the fresh fish market. 15 minute drive from the airport. John had great recommendations for food and places to go. Couldn’t recommend enough. Thanks John!!
Will M — Google review
I think this place is pretty good if you stay in the shared bedrooms. The main house is dark and not enough windows to let the sun shine in. It’s clean and not too far from the well known Miami beach. As per the private room, it’s a wooden shack built behind his house. It did have great air conditioning, which I really appreciated since I arrived with food poisoning and couldn’t get out for two days. However, the stove in the room as well as the TV was not working. The bed was small and against a boiler which made me feel kind of unsafe. There was also a water shortage upon my arrival which due to my terrible condition it was a huge problem for me as I couldn’t wash myself. I also asked John to please check on me on the following morning as I was very scared of being sick in a room alone and he didn’t. Lastly, apparently, there is a 15 Barbados dollar taxes that according to John only some guests have to pay. This tax was not written anywhere on my receipt but apparently it’s on his. He was willing to let go of it after a few exchanges and was kind to offer me a towel free of the 5 Barbados dollars charge. As for the mosquitoes mentioned in previous reviews, it’s indeed infested with it, but that is not something I think He can do much about it.

I can’t recommend John’s hostel enough! Such a lovely host, he was always very responsive if we had any issues and would go out of his way to help us with other questions we had about the island itself. The location is great if you want to get a feel of living in a real neighbourhood, neighbours were always friendly and helpful and it’s only a 10 minute walk away from the main road where the fish fry is and Miami Beach. I will 100% be staying here again when I next visit :)

We had just the best time here, and John was an excellent host. Thank you John for offering such a cozy, affordable and well located place to allow people to visit this wonderful country. We can’t wait to come back. We enjoyed hanging out in the garden and the gazebo out front as well. An all around gem!

Host was rude beyond comprehension. I believe he's racist, but it's hard to prove. Room was so hot, nobody was able to sleep.

Oh wow, i know this is coming late. But i want to specially thank Mr.John for his hospitality. It was indeed a unique experience that lead to our path crossing. on the 13th of January, 2020. i can recommend any one there. The place is clean, comfortable, a place you can call home away from home even though my visit was short. I am giving him a 5 star for everything because truly its well worth it and you get value for your money either for a private room or a share room. Mr.John takes pride in making his guest feel comfortable, for this i say thank you. Hoping to see you when i visit again and trust me am coming back there.
Dr. D — Google review
The review is the lowest I could give. The place was disgusting. No one to greet you. The curb appeal was non inviting. Enough mosquitoes to catch dengue. Read all the reviews. He only comments respectfully on the positive reviews. If your review is negative he rants and raves in improper English. Most reviews were long ago. Let me say this. If anyone want to spend his/her hard own cash in such an establishment that’s on you. I made that mistake once. NEVER AGAIN. I have all the texts between him and I when I stayed there. Respond to my review and I’ll email all to you. Before you book this “hotel” I beg you to take look at other reasonable hotels in much more safe environments.

Amazing tasting fish cakes. Best I’ve had! Worth the buy and the price is cheap $1 BBD
Akers G — Google review
It’s sad that there isn’t more reviews for this place given that it’s so highly recommended by most people we asked. They were so flavourful, quite large and only $1bd each.

Best fiscakes in the zone. Check this one while you are in the fish market!

Don't ignore this place. They offer something different with the chance to eat something fresh. Big 5.
Lo M — Google review
I found this place because of the other reviews. Just do yourself a favour and get some of these fishcakes. It’s $1 BBD each and makes for a very cheap and delicious snack. The fishcakes have a nice crispness, pieces of fish throughout, and a nice spice to them. They fry them up in batches so you may have to wait for a few mins for a fresh batch. Worth it!
