Cafe Bar de la Casa del Corregidor is a cozy cafe located in the heart of Puno, offering a warm atmosphere and a variety of dining options. The menu features Peruvian cuisine, including gluten-free and vegetarian choices. Guests can enjoy Coffee Tunki, recognized as one of the best organic gourmet coffees in South America. In addition to serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner, the cafe also provides cultural activities and information about rural tourism.
Delicious coffee and snacks. Had a cheese, mushroom empanadas that was light pastry hot and delicious tasting filling along with a smoked trout tostada Haines’s also excellent. The cheesecake for desert wasn’t as exciting. The little courtyard was perfect for a lunchtime snack very quiet away from the bussel of the city around it. Overall and excellent spot - 🙏

Lovely cafe bar in central Puno set in a beautiful historic house! The cafe are specialty coffee makers including various methods ie V60, moka pot, pour over and many more. Went for their homemade lemonades which were fantastic! Not too sweet and full of flavour. Lovely staff too.
C M — Google review
Food and coffee is good, service isn't. I had the empanada de trucha and the capuccino. Both delicious. The place was pretty nice. We sat in the courtyard. The service wasn't great. When we ordered dessert the server completely forgot about it. 30 minutes later we asked him about it and he said the restaurant had suddenly gotten an influx of people that they hadn't anticipated and that's why it was taking so long. We ended up canceling our dessert order and it took him 5 minutes just to cancel it and bring us the check. When he brought us the check he repeated that the restaurant was too full. He barely apologized and I felt like he wanted us to feel bad for him. We were a table of 3 people so it's not like it was our fault that they were unprepared. I get that restaurants get busy sometimes but I didn't like how the server handled it. There was also a little girl that kept coming into the courtyard every few minutes and would let her dog run around each table and then yell at anyone who tried to pet her dog and then she would leave, then a couple minutes later she would come back and do it again. This happened like 7 times and the workers didn't do anything about it.
Ant J — Google review
It's a bit mixed review. They have very nice terrace and the food is fine (at least our food was fine), it's the only reasonable place for a brunch in Puno. We don't mind waiting, but if we are only customers in the place and the order comes much later, it's a bit surprising. The coffee was classic burnt Vienna style undrinkable stuff. But I didn't have high hopes anyway. I would give 3.5 stars.
Jakub K — Google review
Great spot at the Casa del Corregidor café-bar. The place is beautiful, with a warm and cozy atmosphere and a very pleasant vibe. Everything we tried was delicious, and the waiter was extremely friendly and attentive. Only downside: the waiting time was a bit long and our starters arrived at the same time as our mains. Still, we had a wonderful time, definitely a place worth visiting to enjoy a unique and charming setting in Puno.
Beat R — Google review
Really nice waffles, freshly made & good Chicharrón sandwich. Nice passion fruit juice. Cappuccino was great. Lovely very chilled lo-fi music playing in the background.
Úna M — Google review
Attentive staff, moderate noise level, and although the food takes more than 15 minutes to arrive, it’s worth the wait. The drinks are excellent.

Very nice place and very good food Also the veggetarian options. The only problem was the Not-working credit card terminal

Restaurant
Mojsa Restaurant, located in Peru, has been a beloved dining spot for both locals and tourists for over three decades. The restaurant is known for its traditional Piura cuisine, with a specialty in black shell ceviche that showcases the region's marine flavors. Housed in a charming colonial building, Mojsa offers intimate balcony seating overlooking Plaza de Armas as well as lively interior rooms. The menu features reasonably priced Novo Andino cuisine with a fusion of traditional and criollo flavors.
Good food, good service and the manager helped to call a (new Toyota) taxi for for us with negotiated rate of 20 Soles to take 4 of us back to the hotel. The Taxi driver came to the restaurant to take us to his Taxi that was waiting on the side of street. By the way, this restaurant’s price includes tax and tip. To us the restaurant food in Peru is on the very salty side. So remember to say something to the server. For example, the chicken noodle soup we ordered was very good, with a lot of very salty tender chicken breast in the soup. And it had little vegetables and with good amount of mushy noodles. If I come back to this restaurant again which I would and I would recommend, I probably would say no salt on the chicken broth because the amount of salty chicken breast chunks would make it salty enough for me. (That’s just me. I enjoy the flavor of the food and not the salt in my mouth.) Overall clean restaurant, clean restrooms, good service the owner/manager can speak very good English (I don’t know Spanish and English is not very good, so I am not good judge on this. ) One thing to remember, please reserve your table ahead of time on the web.
Yong H — Google review
The food was really good. We ordered the trout, prawn salad and chicken noodle soup. The service was nice and fast. I recommend making a reservation for this place as it is quite small and get full really fast. I had a reservation at 6pm by the time we finished around 730. The place was full and didn’t take in any more walk-ins.
Lee T — Google review
Mosja Restaurant in Puno offers a refined take on Andean cuisine with modern presentation. The alpaca and trout dishes are standouts—flavorful, fresh, and beautifully plated. Service is attentive, and the atmosphere is calm and intimate. A great spot for a quiet, high-quality meal in the city.
Yanis F — Google review
For my last meal in Peru I wanted to have something special and oh boy did Mojsa live up to my expectations. The restaurant was clean and beautifully decorated with seating options to overlook one of the squares. The waiters were very attentive and easy to get a hold of for ordering and requesting the check. I HAD to get their cuy a try because the lady time I had it elsewhere I was severely dissatisfied BUT I did not have to worry and after a wait of around 25 minutes (which was forewarned in the menu) I received two wonderfully crispy and juicy pieces of cuy. Even though it says it is only a half portion, I think the amount was perfect. The peanut sauce and quinoa salad were beautiful compliments to the meal and the sweet potatoes were good - just kinda tangy and not my thing. Then, I thought “Why not?” and ordered the Lúcuma Tiramisu because I saw it being hand delivered from some women who had evidently made it themselves. It was SPECTACULAR. I absolutely recommend Mojsa! The quality and quantity of the food matches or even exceeds the price you pay.
Maya M — Google review
I liked this place a lot and it was very comfortable to sit there and see the main square and the cathedral. The entries and main plates were very good and the service was good. We only were disappointed by the Tiramisu. It was not really a Tiramisu.
Sarah B — Google review
Mojsa seems to be the only place in Puno that truly looks and feels like a restaurant. However, the food was mediocre at best. We ordered Lomo Saltado and Cuy. I won’t complain about the Cuy as it’s an acquired taste, but the Lomo Saltado, being such a basic dish, was of very low quality in both meat and presentation
Mert E — Google review
Nice restaurant in the central of Puno, if you are lucky enough you can get a seat with the view of the square. Can see they are using good quality of ingredients and probably one of the most busy restaurant in the central. Service they could take a bit more care as sometimes we had to look around for our waiter.
Jan Z — Google review
An excellent experience! Mojsa combines refined local flavors with thoughtful, creative presentation. The service is attentive and friendly, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Highly recommended for anyone looking to discover Puno’s cuisine with a modern touch.

Restaurant
Nestled within the charming La Casona Parodi, Tulipans Restaurant offers a delightful culinary experience in Puno. This beloved eatery is renowned for its diverse menu that beautifully blends international flavors with local Peruvian ingredients. Guests can savor an array of dishes, including mouthwatering pizzas baked in a traditional stone oven, which impart a unique smoky flavor and crispy texture. With options ranging from fresh vegetables to hearty meats, there's something to satisfy every palate.
I visit this restaurant regularly and everything I had here was very good. The staff is very nice and outgoing, the prices are reasonable and the food delicious. I recommend to make the reservation if you are with bigger group. I had soups, I had meats and I had pizza here, always satisfied with the food.
Matúš B — Google review
The appetizers were delicious, but I didn’t really like the main courses, mostly because I forgot that I don’t like coriander! However, the drinks were amazing.
Monika D — Google review
A true gem in Puno! This restaurant is the perfect choice for both lunch and dinner. The cozy atmosphere is a big plus, especially for a chilly evening—head upstairs for a warm spot. They have a great variety of dishes, from delicious soups and salads to savory wood-fired pizzas, including some with local alpaca. The service is excellent, with friendly and attentive staff who are happy to offer recommendations. It’s a great option for a satisfying meal at a reasonable price.
Michal R — Google review
Good restaurant with variety of dishes and soups. The meat was too hard, fish was good. Very expensive vines.
Mariusz — Google review
They offer Peruvian food as well as pizza options. Good mixed drinks and wine to compliment your meal if you choose to indulge. They have an oven where you can watch as they make your pizza and if it is cool night it puts iff alitvof heat to warm you up Staff speaks Spanish as well as English at some of them. It is right along the main dining row along with manyvother pizza places.
Craig B — Google review
Very experience. Good price on the menu of the day (as well as regular menu) compared to other places and still with great food and service.
Sami R — Google review
Myself and 3 friends I met on a tour came here for dinner and we had a terrible experience at Tulipans. We had eaten pizza for lunch at Ekekos also in Puno (to whom I gave a 5 star review) so obviously we wanted something else for dinner. Upon arrival the place was quite confusing. We later found out there is a section upstairs with an elaborate menu and a smaller section downstairs with a limited menu. We were first told there would be an hour wait for our table but we were seated within 5 minutes but with the limited menu! The only non pizza item available on this menu was lasagna so we each ordered a lasagna to our waitress. A few minutes later a lady who seemed like the boss said it would take an hour to prepare our lasagnas and we said that was fine. 10 minutes later, the same lady came back and said it would take at least 1 and a half hour to prepare our lasagnas and she practically begged us to order pizzas instead even offering us free drinks if we did. We explained our predicament to which she told us to have our lasagnas in Cusco which was not very friendly! I wanted to leave but felt uncomfortable being with new acquaintance so we said OK. We had to wait another 10 minutes to place our pizza order. 3 out of 4 pizzas were served rather quickly except for the last one that was forgotten. By the time I got mine, my friend already finished his! Now about the free drinks, that was also an issue and a complicated discussion. The free drinks the lady had in mind were only hot wine, half sized pisco sours and soft drinks…. The pizzas themselves were just OK but not at all as good as the ones we had earlier at Ekekos. The ingredients were not as fresh and the cheese not as tasty. I would say the whole experience seemed almost comical if I was not so serious about my dining!
Michel L — Google review
We ordered pasta with shrimp and hawaii bowl. Fresh, well balanced, great recipes, generous portions. Cakes and pastries are good too. Service is fast but doesn’t follow up after your meal is served. Atmosphere is a busy noisy airport, cant really blame them for that but they could build a wall/divider to block some of the exposure and noise.

Yavari is a 19th-century British gunship that now offers tours, providing visitors with the opportunity to get an up-close look at its engine and offering simple B&B lodging. The experience includes round trip private tourist transportation, an English-Spanish speaking guide for the day, entrance fees to Dreyer Museum and donations for Yavari Steam Ship.
I highly recommend visiting this renovated boat, originally from 1870. The captain on board depicts the full story of this monument, from the difficulty of bringing to the high altitude lake to the current usage of the boat, while giving the full tour of the boat from the crew deck to the engine room. 10/10 would recommend.
Deinos — Google review
The ship has an interesting story being built in pieces in Birmingham UK and shipped in 1862 in about 2700 pieces in crates to Bolivia. The crates were unloaded in Arica Chili and then transported by porters and mules 4800m uphill to Lake Titicaca. There it took until April 1871 to reassemble the ship and launch it. Inside you now can see some nice technical details
Seimen B — Google review
fascinating steam ship built 1862 still working and undergoing restoration. the captain collected us from the jetty and showed us around the ship, engines, bridge etc. we had turned up without notice and the security guard at the hotel called the captain. Our own personal guided tour! this really made our trip to Puno extra special.
Duncan M — Google review
We weren’t sure what to expect but this was a really pleasant surprise. The security guard at the hotel was very helpful and helped us find the boat behind the hotel. The tour guide gave a quick but informative and interesting tour and was very friendly. Unique!
Jessica H — Google review
Difficult to find out accurate info but definitely worth making the effort. We decided to turn up on the off chance and took a leisurely walk from Puno centre (approx 45 mins along the promenade most of the way). Dropped down from the road to the Sonesta Hotel Posadas Del Inca. Was net by a security guard who took our passport details then walked us around the side of the hotel to a jetty. A tender came to pick us up. The super helpful lady showed us the whole boat, with plenty of explanation in good English. There’s a visitor book and donation box at the end. She then dropped us back to the jetty. Really interesting history.
C4ffie — Google review
What an incredible and magical experience, we were so close to not going as it appeared on google as if this was closed. We arrived via the hotel grounds by the pier near the boat and after waiting on the pier for less than ten mins the engineer on the Yavari sailed out in a small boat to collect us. The story behind this boat is crazy … built in the 1800s and shipped all the way from London to Lake Titicaca, with more than 2000 individual pieces being hauled 190 miles over the Andes (and more than 15,000 ft elevation) to reach the shores of Lake Titicaca where it was assembled, finished on Christmas Day 1870. Originally a steam boat fuelled by Llama dung! Now has a petrol engine. I won’t say anymore other than what an incredible privilege to have set foot on this boat and had the honour of all the knowledge and passion from the engineer on board. Truly a hidden gem and will go down as one of the most special experiences I have had in all my travels.
Adam I — Google review
To visit the steamboat/gunboat Yavari was my best experience in Puno. The captain Maxmimus to the dinghi in and picked me up. Had an hour of guiding. Great story. A must.
Truls N — Google review
The boat is currently located in the PeruRail pier in Puno port. It can be difficult to find but there is pedestrian access through the nearby artisan market. A very nice lady gave us a tour of the boat which looks fantastic and is 90% restored to its original condition. There is no entrance fee but you are encouraged to leave a donation to contribute to the continuing restoration. I highly recommend a visit if you are in Puno, it is much more interesting and informative than the nearby Navy Museum.

Park
Plaza Mayor de Puno, also known as Plaza de Armas, is a historic square surrounded by colonial buildings and the impressive Puno Cathedral. Visitors can take a leisurely stroll along Jiron Lima, lined with cafes and restaurants, and admire the oldest house in Puno, La Casa del Corregidor. The square also offers green spaces, flower beds, and benches for relaxation.
The Puno Plaza has lots of things to see and do. Although it seems like it’s not a big city the Central market is very welcoming and inviting. There’s lots of wonderful restaurants and ice cream shops as long as souvenir shops along the way. I recommend you spend as much time here instead of in your hotel
Lupe S — Google review
A fantastic place for an evening out. We went there during the Peru national holidays, and the entire plaza was buzzing. We were treated to a Michael Jackson show in the plaza as well.
PALLAB R — Google review
A fantastic central hub and a must-visit in Puno. The square is lively and well-maintained, with beautiful gardens and a statue of Colonel Francisco Bolognesi. The Puno Cathedral, with its impressive stone façade, is the centerpiece, and the surrounding colonial-era buildings are a delight to see. It's the perfect place to sit on a bench, feed the many pigeons, and watch the city life unfold. A great spot for photos and a true taste of local culture.
Michal R — Google review
They have lots of restaurants in this area. By the main church they have dancers nightly to entertain you. A clean walkable area thatvhas police presence in casr you are worried about your safety though that should not be a concern here.

This restaurant is located inside our hotel. We had dinner the first night after we checked in. We enjoyed our meal and the atmosphere and service were wonderful. We order one of the pasta dishes about we didn't want the original sauce. We requested to change the way of cooking and they accommodated our request without any issue. We decided to return the next evening. We enjoyed our dished again and the waitress Ruth provided excellent service

Their food is great and I was happy to see that it wasn't gourmet the only reason I cannot give it 5 stars is because of the prices although I know that is to be expected. We also had breakfast here and it was great decent variety for all kinds of stomachs and taste buds and I have to say the customer service was excellent the waitress Jimena was very nice and ready to serve

A great restaurant with excellent choice of food and drinks. Our waitress Tanya was very attentive and helpful. Our food was very tasty and you definitely get value for money. I would highly recommend it.
Bhavna P — Google review
The first Peruvian restaurant that I can’t recommend. A couple of plates we got were chipped, staff wast wasn’t very attentive, the interior was interesting only near the entrance. Food wasn’t special, I would say more on the mediocre side. Too much oil in the meat dishes, soup is too simple. They even manage to spoil Chicha morada - it didn’t taste refreshing at all, more like a too sweet watery cherry juice. Fish ceviche was ok for its price, however the mango one was isipid. The only food we liked were onion rings. Such a pity.
Olha B — Google review
The food very good. I had a steak and my wife had trout. Both delicious. My teenagers had the American champion meal and it was difficult to finish as it was so big. We were next to the fire place which made it even better experience.

Centrally located, popular with tourists. Service was fast and friendly. Interesting cocktails. Food was good. Recommemd the alpaca saltada. Only criticism would be the decor looks a bit run down and table clothes have a lot of stains.

Points of Interest & Landmarks
Puno Cathedral, a Baroque-style Catholic church constructed in 1757 by Simon de Asto, is a significant landmark located near the main square (Plaza de Armas) of Puno. The cathedral's stone facade showcases impressive architecture from the colonial era. According to local history, the area where the cathedral stands was once submerged under water from Lake Titicaca during flooding.
Highly suggest to take a tour which you can buy right at the entrance inside the cathedral (it was 15 sol). It is an amazing tour, where you can learn a lot of interesting things about the cathedral and have magnificent view of Puna.
Dmitry K — Google review
A beautiful and essential landmark on the main plaza. The cathedral’s impressive stone facade is a fantastic example of a distinct local Baroque style, with intricate carvings that are a joy to admire up close. While the interior is more modest than the exterior, it still offers a peaceful and spiritual atmosphere. It’s a great place to step inside, escape the bustle of the city, and take in a piece of Puno’s history. A definite must-see.
Michal R — Google review
Architecture and decor similar to so many Catholic churches in Peru (and Spain) but each still serene and beautiful. Definitely worth visiting when in Puno.

No idea why this place has such bad reviews. It’s pretty much the only place you can get a cocktail in Puno in the three days we were here, I certainly couldn’t find anywhere else. we had two lots of happy hour drinks which were two drinks for 25 PEN. The music in this venue was great as was the service however when we came to pay, they said the credit card machine wasn’t working and we had to pay in cash; seems suspicious to me.
Joe P — Google review
What a great atmosphere! Come here for the drinks. The mixologists do a unique job on classic cocktails. This is also a popular local joint for watching football matches. 100% would recommend and come again.
Jason A — Google review
We keep coming back here for the best pisco sours in town. The service is fast and the pisco sours have the perfect balance between acidity and pisco. We visited this place before 12 PM and they only had sandwiches for food
Knot S — Google review
Fake advertising for happy hours. The owner even swip the board in front of us.. ahah Not honest owner. Dont bother going there. There is a plenty of nice other bar on the street.
Jeremie P — Google review
We stopped in here for breakfast pretty early in the morning because we were traveling with young children. While I️ normally try to adhere to local customs when traveling, toddlers have specific needs and ours were starving by 8am, so we were happy to find a place open with some traditional “American” breakfast options as well as Peruvian dishes. Sometimes we are wary of touristy places and the quality of food, but we shouldn’t have worried here! They had quinoa pancakes with bananas and honey that the kids loved, and a variety of other delicious breakfast dishes. The café con leche was great! The service was friendly and the decor was fun. I can picture this place being a really good time at night, especially since it looks like they do karaoke and had some Artesanal beers in the fridge!
Mari K — Google review
I wouldn't agree with the previous review that the prices are cheap, but WoW are their drinks fantastic! Awesome variety and fantastic mixology, all in a fun setting!

What a fun spot! Good music, good people, excellent fresh-brewed Peruvian espresso. Ask Oscar for the Espresso Martini de Kitty.

Positive Rock 'n Reggae is a vibrant and lively music scene found in various bars and clubs such as Cafe Bar at Casa del Corregidor, Kamizaraky Rock Pub, Pacha Mixology, La Careta, Platinum Puno, Domino Club, and Memorise. This genre of music creates an uplifting atmosphere where visitors can enjoy the fusion of rock and reggae tunes while sipping on their favorite drinks.
Liked the low-key atmosphere even though this place is obviously targetted at tourists. Sat next to the pizza oven, a plus when you know how cold the winter nights in Puno can be. Staff was amiable enough and even agreed to put some music requested by one of the people I was with.
David S — Google review
A place where you could see people smoking dope but not really. It just looks like a smoking den but nobody is smoking. Lots of options on the menu and 6 pages of alcoholic and mock cocktails. I decided to go with a basic comfort food spaghetti alla baglesta sauce.
Craig B — Google review
The place is super cool and Pisco sour was good, but we were not given the 2x1 cocktail advertised in the window at the time of payment.
Anna G — Google review
Food was lovely and especially for the price, don't listen to the other reviews. Nacho and pizza was perfect. Music was good couldn't ask for more
Willliam M — Google review
The best Pub in Puno! Must be visit... rock on ;) Love ✌️
Zoltán M — Google review
A hip bar with a good vibe. The staff are very friendly and go above and beyond to satisfy the customer’s wishes. For example, my friends and I really wanted sweet potato fries. The bar didn’t have any, so one of the staff members went out to buy sweet potatoes and in no time we were served sweet potato fries! Furthermore, a few customers were American and wanted to watch the Super Bowl. The staff turned on the American football game for them to watch. Then the whole bar joined in to watch the important (and fun) game. As for the drinks... they were good and quite strong!
Ieva Z — Google review
Best atmosphere, lots of delicious snacks and drinks and detail oriented service. What else to ask?

Cool bar that I wouldn't quite expect in Puno. They have different variations of Pisco Sour, try the chilli one if you dare! Also some decent food like pizzas etc.

Restaurant
La Choza de Oscar is a Peruvian restaurant located in Puno, offering a variety of Peruvian and Latin dishes, including soups and rotisserie chicken. It provides fast service, the option to make reservations, a cozy atmosphere with table service, and an exciting folkloric show. Conveniently situated near Plaza de Armas, it serves delicious and generous portions. Visitors praise its flavorful rotisserie chicken seasoned with local herbs and spices.
Great rotisserie chicken place! It also has all the typical Peruvian classics. In the evening they have a music and dance show for tourists. Really affordable options, especially the chicken! It's a little salty but the chicken is cooked to perfection. Filled with locals in the back and tourists in the front near the stage.
Darcy C — Google review
This place only serves roast chicken now so ignore the old menu pictures. They also don't do folk music anymore but will refer you to the Balcones next door. That said, the service is excellent and the chicken better than most other places. A good place for an inexpensive meal if you want chicken.
Don M — Google review
The dining environment is clean and bright, with no greasy smell at all. The waiter are all very friendly. Their sauce gives the chicken great flavor, the meat is juicy and delicious, not dry and not greasy. The portions are huge, and the fries were so much that we couldn’t finish them and had to take the rest to go. The biggest surprise was that we didn’t even need to leave a tip when paying the bill! I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to try Peruvian rotisserie chicken.
花哥兒 — Google review
When I arrived in Peru I knew I had to get some “Peruvian chicken” aka Pollo a La brasa which is basically Peruvian rotisserie chicken. The chicken from La Choza de Oscar is the best I’ve had - seasoned right down to the bone with local herbs and spices, and juicy. A couple of the fries were undercooked but no big deal. I also requested some pimento or pepper sauce to go with my chicken and the little spice made it even better. I definitely recommend you give this spot a try. They serve this chicken all day and not just at night (this was what I’ve been told each time I tried to order for lunch in other towns).
Rae J — Google review
Their roast chicken is very juicy and tasty. Even the breast portion is also juicy, not dry at all. They give lots of French fries. Surprisingly it is not expensive.
Yung-chin C — Google review
Hands down best rotisserie chicken I have even had. Dance show was very good and much longer than I thought it would be. It was much better quality than I have seen at Caribbean all inclusives. Service was a bit slow but I have come to expect bad service in Peru. Drinks were not as good as I thought they would be. Everyone thought the chicken was great.
Chris L — Google review
We ate here twice in our week long stay. Chicken is excellent, if you order the 1/4 or 1/8 chicken you can pick the parts you want (muslo, pechuga, etc). Good friendly service, generous frites, good soup, good drinks. Excellent value. You know it is good because of all the locals doing take-out! Go!
Andy G — Google review
Tasty cheap lunch, full of locals. We came back a second time :) Now we need to come for the dinner dance show!

Mirador Puma de Puno, located just 20 minutes from the town, offers stunning views of Lake Titicaca and the city. The lookout point is shaped like a puma and features beautiful statues, sculptures, and pools created by talented artists. The name 'Puma Uta' translates to 'the house of the Puma,' symbolizing the protector of the Andes region.
We did a brief stop here as part of our Sillhustani tour. Nice view over Puno, lake was mainly obscured by a hill but you could just about see it. The large Puma statue is amazing. I wouldn't make a special trip here but, as part of a tour it made a nice stop
Brian C — Google review
Okay view over lake Titicaca and Puno city. A lot of litter around the area which is a shame and doesn’t do the place right.
Marijn B — Google review
It’s one of the three viewpoints we visited. I am not sure if you could walk there we went there during a tour so I would recommend going there by cab. The view is amazing you can see the whole city and parts of the lake. It’s definitely the viewpoint where there were the most people.
Lukas M — Google review
Great views over the city and the lake. I took the colectivo nr. 60 up for 1 Sole (tell them you want to go to Yanamayo) bc it is a steep walk/ stairs up for a good 45min from the city center. Enjoyed the walk down though.
Ronja E — Google review
Nice view on the lake and Puno. Some strange sculptures, in particular the fact that you have to pass between the legs and directly underneath the private parts of the Puma to reach the highest outlook is not really appropriate for children.
Bernhard O — Google review
Kitch. In the most horrible way. But from here you can bave an almost bird view on the city. Not sure if worth it.
Antonio F — Google review
Great views, but the place looks a bit derelict
Michal P — Google review
Beautiful landscapes of Puno 💜 Puma Uta means "the house of the Puma" and that's because the puma is the protector of the Andes region, and it was built over a fountain, which represents the Titicaca Lake.

Cerrito Huajsapata, located just east of Puno, offers breathtaking panoramic views of Lake Titicaca and the city. The highlight of this elevated point is the monument of Manco Capac, the founder of the Inca Empire. While some visitors find the hike challenging due to its steepness and lack of safety rails, others appreciate the opportunity to soak up stunning vistas from a less touristy spot.
After a short and manageable trek, you will be greeted by stunning panoramic views of the city of Puno and beyond. It was quiet when we arrived although unfortunately there was a group of youngsters shouting abuse at us so keep your wits about you.
J M — Google review
Huffed and puffed to the top. Its not a path and if your not wearing sensible shoes then you will struggle. No safety rails at the top so watch your footing otherwise it could be a very rapid uncontrolled decent! Views are very good over Puno bay. Happy Trails
John P — Google review
It’s one of the three viewpoint we visited, the walk up from plaza mayor is really quick and the view definitely worth it. The path up there is interesting in parts but not dangerous or anything. Also doable if you are not as fit or feeling a bit exhausted.

Templo San Antonio is one of the ancient temples in Puno, alongside the Cathedral of the Plaza de Armas and the San Juan temple. The church houses several saints and hosts charitable activities throughout the year. Despite lacking proper signage and lighting, it remains a peaceful place for visitors. The interior features wooden pulpits and colonial-style paintings, adding to its historical charm.

This is a beautiful and peaceful church located just a short walk from the main plaza. The facade, with its traditional white and red accents, stands out and creates a lovely contrast with the surrounding buildings. While it's not as grand as the Puno Cathedral, its quieter atmosphere and local charm make it a great place to stop for a moment of reflection and to admire a more authentic piece of Puno's religious architecture.

Casa Panqarani is a charming restaurant and small hotel located in a tranquil setting. The restaurant offers traditional Puno home-cooked meals such as meat stews, potato pie, trout fritters, and classic fried trout. For those seeking a broader Peruvian gastronomy experience, Mojsa restaurant is recommended. Casa Panqarani's small and lovely hotel is surrounded by well-tended flower gardens. The cozy rooms are part of the old house but provide comfort.
Oscar, his mother and his partner were wonderful hosts during our two-nights stay. Casa Panqarani was by far the nicest and most comfortable hotel we stayed in while traveling through Peru. It is the perfect place if you are looking for something more personal and authentic than the usual booking.com hotel. Breakfast was also a highlight, as fresh juices changed daily and the scrambled eggs were very tasty. Casa Panqarani has also a cafè which is open to the public from 5 pm where you can have good and inexpensive meals. At the end of my stay I was feeling sick and the hosts were incredibly kind and helpful. An additional advantage for German and international travellers: Oscar speaks very good German and English.

Stayed for 2 nights and we were happy with the stay. It is a little out of the main area but an easy walk to the square and restaurants. Hosts were nice and the breakfast was good. Rooms were comfortable and spacious
Peter B — Google review
Had an absolutely fabulous three-night stay with host Ursula around a Lake Titicaca excursion. She’s enormously resourceful and helped us with organizing trips around Puno and input for later travels around Peru. Rooms are cozy even when it’s cold out, and well-equipped. Breakfast in the downstairs cafe is tasty and great value for money. Do ask to have the hosts prepare some dinner, that too was a great experience culinarily and in terms of ambience.😊
CZ — Google review
Beautiful guesthouse, simple but made with love, with a lovely cafe & garden (something that is rare in Puno), quiet but a short walk into the main square. I stayed in the Queen Room, the bed was very comfortable & warm, plenty of hot water with good pressure. The host is very lovely & accommodating. I forgot something in the room when I’m already on the way to Bolivia and she went the extra mile to help me get it back.
Benjamin N — Google review
We've stayed here 4 times. Consuelo is super friendly and accommodating. The place is relaxing, home like lots of antiques, relaxing. Not the most central location, but Puno is compact, and it is easy enough to walk from here.
John R — Google review
Beautiful enclosed villa with large rooms and bathrooms. Cafe and dining area with excellent snacks and breakfasts Staff are amazing and helpful. 5 mins easy walk to the main square Highly recommended
Jeff W — Google review
A little tricky to find at night, but once they open their doors, the owners (family) take care of you like one of their own. Beautiful oasis of green in a home that’s been in the family for generations. The love and care is reflected. Ask to have your lunch or dinner made in-house, it was better than most local eateries. My biggest regret is only staying one night. Good enough reason to come back to Puno.
Kls — Google review
Fantastic host. Beautiful place. Great to have breakfast with the host and other guests. He organised our your and even help us move to the next hotel. You may be surprised that the place is hiding behind a big door with almost no sign. Hidden treasure. The room could do with a heater.

Kamizaraky Rock is a vibrant hotspot that buzzes with energy every day, making it the perfect destination for those looking to unwind and have fun. This lively pub offers an impressive selection of games and a diverse menu featuring delicious homemade pizzas that are simply a must-try. The bar boasts an extensive range of beers and cocktails, including standout margaritas crafted by the friendly owner, Raul, who is known for his engaging personality.
We LOVE this place: First of all, we are from Texas and we know Margaritas, and Raul’s margaritas are the best we have ever had. Also, as wonderful as the margaritas is Raul who owns the bar. We love to visit him. He makes fantastic drinks and is an incredible person to talk to. We found the pizza at this place to be amongst the best as well. The music is off the charts awesome and the ambience truly rocks. This is our favorite place in Puno by far and we will come back here first when we return to Peru.
