Our stay was for 2 days and we had booked directly from the person incharge of the reservations. Firstly the resort is very small with very few rooms, one swimming pool with broken tiles and no other entertainment. There is a main switch in the room which connects all the connections . Once the switch is off the whole room is shut down with multiple power cuts … the rooms stink of strong mold smell. It was quite suffocating with the smell. It wouldn’t go away without opening the door . My child and I developed sneezing and bad cough because of it . When we asked for a refund the person incharge Mr Sandip was very rude and wouldn’t consider any option . Although he doesn’t stay at the resort and sits somewhere else, he was very rude and cut the conversation when we were trying to explain our problem. Overall we had to change our resort immediately for the better . Please do not go to this resort whatsoever. Horrible experience

Had a short and unpleasant stay in Niraamaya. They say that this resort is on top of a private hill but the road to the property is horrible. 1st impression was damn horrible because of the road. Its a resort type property with greenery and its peaceful around. Food is extremely expensive so if at all you decide to go here, carry your snacks and be prepared to drive to hotels for food. Rooms are cottage type and decent. We had a bad experience with both the rooms we were provided as the Bathroom door wasn't closing and it was horrible. They had people come and fix the doors, which were never fixed. Very bad room quality and no room service at all. There were umbrellas in front of every room and there was nothing in front of our rooms. It started raining and we were all clueless. No fun activities other than the pool. Complementary breakfast was pretty good and the property staff are kind and responsive. There were power cuts frequently and the best part was that we spent our night without power. They have this one switch which controls the power of the entire cottage and surprisingly that is the only switch for Television. You turn it off while sleeping and then there is no power at all. A horrible experience and i will never recommend this stay to anyone. Overall not a recommended stay for families and it is extremely over priced even during off-season.

It was a therapeutic experience at Niraamaya Thekkady. The rooms were uniquely designed with wood and glass, and the infinity pool offers a great view, overlooking the mountain. The food prepared by the chef was awesome, with a special mention of their soft appam and creamy veg stew.

We had an amazing experience staying here for a night. The rooms were amazing and previous night we had stayed at Edapalayam watch tower. After a sleepless night staying alert and a rainy atmosphere, we chose to stay indoors during our one day stay here other than stepping out of the room for food. We were extremely tired that we did not use any other facilities of the resort.

Accessing the resort is quite an adventure—the 2 km stretch from Kumily Road is in extremely poor condition, making it suitable only for four-wheel-drive vehicles. Unfortunately, the resort is highly overpriced for the amenities offered. The pool was out of service, a detail they failed to mention during booking. Given these issues, I would not recommend this resort.

A gentle hideaway - calm and serene... perfect for someone wanting to unwind and escape the hustle of daily life. What stood out just as much as the tranquility was the food...well prepared dishes. And i must say the staff...Roshan, Gireesh, Sajeesh, Prakash... So courteous and thoughtful. Just a heads- up -- the road to the resort definitely needs maintenance and surprisingly there was no mirror in the room... But otherwise an idyllic retreat.

Spent 3 days there. Absolutely wonderful rooms, and hospitality. Location is bit odd as it is located on a steep elevation. They do provide transport options though. Rooms are pretty good and well maintained. Complementary breakfast is really awesome, so is the dinner from the restaurant. They do have lot of activities like cultural dance, cooking classes (we can eat what we cook), bon fire and spa. Swimming pool is good, but small and shallow for this big of a resort. Wifi is not good not bad, although they could improve the speed. Gaming room is not maintained at all. The multipurpose gym machine is not working with cables cut, the sports gears must seen many years of wear and tear without replacement. Overall, it is good. Memorable moments are gained, good for the price paid.

Right from the check-in, the experience was smooth and welcoming — thanks to Front Desk Manager Mr. Mohamed Harris, who was extremely courteous and helpful. I was pleasantly surprised to receive an upgrade to the Cottage Room, which was spacious and beautifully maintained. Our usher, Mr. Tigen, deserves a special mention for his constant availability and assistance throughout our stay. Being Jain, I was initially skeptical about the food options, but to my surprise, Executive Chef Mr. Venuraj went above and beyond to prepare customized dishes for us. His signature Kizhi Paratha and the variety of Pisums were absolutely exceptional — a true culinary highlight of our trip! The entire staff was polite, attentive, and genuinely hospitable, making us feel at home throughout our stay. Overall, a wonderful experience — highly recommended for anyone visiting Thekkady!

I had an amazing stay at Mountain Courtyard, Kumily! The property is absolutely stunning, surrounded by lush greenery and breathtaking mountain views. The food at the restaurant was delicious, with a great mix of local Kerala flavors and other options. What really stood out was the peaceful ambiance. It’s the perfect place to relax, unwind, and connect with nature. The location is also very convenient, just a short drive from Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary and other attractions in Thekkady. We had a pleasant stay at The Mountain Courtyard recently. It is a very well maintained property with a tranquil atmosphere, courteous staff and great food. Rooms had great views from the balcony and we spotted so many birds including hornbills. Food is one thing that I am very particular about when it comes to family outings and everything that we had in our two day stay from Mountain Courtyard was tasty. The dinner and breakfast buffet spread was commendable and almost every dish that we tried was good. Kudos to the chef and his team. Overall an excellent property near Thekkady, highly recommended.

A candle light dinner was arranged for us here as a part of the tour package through MMT. While the decoration for the dinner was decent, it was arranged near the pool meant for hotel guests. The food was extremely bad and we unfortunately had to leave most of the served food. The server assigned to us took good care but there was a lot of confusion among the staff itself and the food was delayed and we served the starters once we had finished the main course and were waiting for the desserts. The hotel looked decent and staff were courteous but would not recommend it for the food and the candle light dinner experience.

I stayed in the honeymoon suite. Beautiful room with jacuzzi. The property seemed to be renovated very well keeping some old heritage intact. Food spread was great. So much variety for vegetarians. Only down side was desserts. An improvement required, otherwise rest no flaws. Warmth and gentleness of the team of the hotel, really wins my heart. Great hospitality make your stay great.😘

We truly enjoyed our stay at The Elephant Court, Thekkady during our wedding anniversary. The service was excellent, especially from the housekeeping team who went above and beyond to make our day memorable. They created a beautiful flower bed arrangement for us, which was truly special. It’s a nice resort. The staff are good and very helpful. Check-in was a breeze. The restaurant is not very luxurious. The property itself is nice, but the outside areas are a bit dull. There are no views from the rooms. It’s very close to the boating start point, which is an advantage. They have a nice pool too.

This resort is in the central location of Thekkady, close to the shops, and yet surrounded by lush green forest. The room was spaceous and sparkling clean, the view from the balcony was beautiful, staffs were kind, courteous, and very attentive about guest safety. The restaurant had so many delicious food options and breakfast was great! Most importantly, I felt very safe and welcome as a solo woman traveller. Even if you do not want to do any sight seeing, spending a few days in the resort itself will be worth it! They have a spa as well.

We stayed at ABAD Green Forest Resort for 2 days, booking 2 rooms as a group of 6 friends, and it was a truly refreshing experience! We were also pleasantly surprised with a welcome drink as we arrived — a nice touch that added to the hospitality. There was separate parking space, which made things easier for us. I stayed at ABAD Green Forest, Thekkady yesterday with my wife and infant, and unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. When we woke up in the morning, there was no water and no Wi-Fi. I tried contacting the reception, but the room telephone was not working. I even called all the contact numbers available online, but no one responded. Around 6 AM, I personally went to the reception and was informed that there had been a flood situation during the night and that several vehicles were submerged. However, none of the guests were informed about this incident at the time. Thankfully, everyone was safe, but the situation could have become dangerous if the water had entered the rooms. The most disappointing part was that my driver’s clothes and belongings were completely soaked, and some items were even washed away in the flood. We later learned from other drivers that nearby hotels had warned their drivers in advance, allowing them to move their vehicles to safer places but something ABAD failed to do. As a result, my driver had to clean his car alone for nearly 5–6 hours, which caused a significant delay in our onward journey and forced us to miss our planned sightseeing. I sincerely urge the hotel management to be more alert, responsible, and proactive in such situations. Proper communication and timely action could have prevented much of this inconvenience and distress.

Our stay is good Location of hotel is in town so we can easily access market and outside food with in walking distance. Food- average but if we order then they make for us fresh gheerost and paratha. Over all very good stay here.

The rooms are good and comfortable. However, the resort is situated on higher terrain, which might be challenging for elderly guests or those with disabilities. The pool is well-maintained and enjoyable. Due to low occupancy during the off-season, we were offered à la carte instead of a buffet. The food was decent, though not exceptional. The spa services were available and a nice addition to the stay. The location is right in town, which is convenient, but you may experience some disturbances, especially in the front-facing areas. That said, the rooms themselves are peaceful and well-kept. Overall, the service was very good

This resort is a scam…Our family had came here to stay and experience Thekkady and ended up experiencing the resort itself and we didn’t went out after check in. (Laziness is also a reason, but resort justified our laziness 😄) The word jungle is so perfect name for their rooms and cottages. Well trained and professional staffs, outstanding service. Fantastic property in the middle of town but close to nature and walkable distance to Thekkady tourist office entrance. Writing this review while sitting on their dining space near the pool.

Stayed here for a corporate team trip. 10/10 for hospitality, rooms and views. Staff is very helpful. Though it's a long walk from room to restaurant, there is a vehicle available and also room service. Pool has some best views. They provide extra bed for additional guest. I will definitely recommend this place for a relaxing weekend. Only thing to keep in mind is, you need to carry nylon swim wear if you want to use the pool and the pool timings are 7am - 7pm.

It was a wonderful experience to wake up to the beauty of the [beach/mountains/garden]. With a large selection of delectable, fresh alternatives at every meal, the food surpassed expectations. We particularly appreciated the amenities: the spa treatments were excellent, and the pool area was tidy and soothing. Probably the best place to stay in Thekaddy. 1 min autoride away from the main market. Good views from the balcony. Amazing service and food by staff. Specially Naseem and Muttu were polite and helped us a lot.

I am overall pleased with our group's stay here. This is one of the best options in the area for villa-style accommodation and dining. - The rooms are luxurious. - The service personnel are exceptionally hospitable. - Room service and conference services are delightful. - The food is excellent. The breakfast offers a variety of options, but the lunch and dinner menus are limited. As a result, we had to venture to the nearby spice village for dinner. There are plenty of hot beverage options, but the choice of alcoholic beverages is minimal. - The location is excellent, as it is near the wildlife reserve. - The massage services are exceptional. - I wish more sports facilities and options for physical activities available. Overall, I would grade my experience an A, although it's worth mentioning that the sports amenities are limited; the gym has minimal equipment.

Wildlife sightings - and visitors in the grounds include monkeys, bats, chipmunks, civets, a variety of birds, and lovely birdsongs and frog and insect sounds throughout the day…and look out for the elusive four colored squirrels…

I recently stayed , and it was an absolutely wonderful experience from start to finish. The resort is beautifully maintained, surrounded by lush greenery and peaceful views — perfect for a relaxing .The rooms were spacious, The balcony view of the garden and pool area was stunning, especially at sunset. Housekeeping staff were attentive and ensured everything was spotless Throughout......The restaurant offered a wide variety of delicious dishes, from local specialties to international cuisine. The breakfast buffet was especially impressive with fresh fruits, baked , and live cooking counters.The resort offers plenty of activities also.....

It would also be better if they could add a few more vegetarian options. Even the breakfast buffet was amazing despite the spread being limited compared to other places. Cardamom County is a beautiful, peaceful resort surrounded by greenery and close to the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary. The rooms are spacious and well-maintained, and the staff is very courteous. The food is tasty with good variety.

One Awesome lifetime experience. Haven’t ever played with an elephant this close. A professional handling came here. Affordable. So considerate and friendly staffs. Peaceful ambiance. Enjoyed a lot. Packages of all ranges available here from specific rides to full day package. The staffs were so genuine and made necessary arrangements for us. The elephant ride was like 15-20 mins and bathing and feeding elephants was around 20-25 mins. Totally had a wait time like 10 mins each. This place had a neat dress changing rooms with heater provisions and neat and clean rest rooms too. The small hut cafe was so neat and got freshly prepared food too. Great. Unforgettable experience

Perfect family outing and experience. Elephant ride and elephant bathing was awesome. Must visit in Thekkady. The staff also will help take pictures. We were attended by a very handsome and gentle giant and he gave pose for photo as well

If you want to have a close encounter with elephants this is the place. You can have elephant ride too short though a nice experience. Since it was raining we couldn't explore other activities like elephant bathing, log lifting etc. You may be able to take pics with elephant. The mahout may expect some tips from u. It is advisable to book ur slot to avoid ques especially during holidays and peak days.Overall it was a nice experience.

It was an amazing experience! The Kalari martial arts performance was fantastic, especially the last 15 minutes with the fire display – truly thrilling to watch. After the show, you can also take photos with the artists, which is a nice touch. The Kathakali show was equally mind-blowing. The performance was powerful, and the singer’s voice added so much depth to the storytelling. Photos with the artists are allowed at the end here as well. Show timings: 6:00 – 7:00 PM: Kalari 7:00 – 8:00 PM: Kathakali Charges: ₹150 per person (kids free). Overall, it’s absolutely worth the visit if you’re in Thekkady!

Must visit this show. Both are amazing shows the price of show is 300/- 5-8 PM show timings. Mesmerising show I really recommend watching them. Martial arts are great and Kathakali also. Which will show our cultural heritage. I really enjoyed the show

All the show's are in evening. Limited seats and ticket. The way of presentation is very good. Kalari and kathakali ( Navarasa ) is the best one. Must try. Ticket price is 300 per head. Timing is one hour. If you booked a ticket by local guide means ticket price is 250 per head.

Extremely worth seeing and understand the dance form and marshal art of Kerala. These two traditional forms were never displayed and explained better before. Hats off to the artists and participants who are so devoted and keeping these art forms alive. The centre is located in the center of Thakkady and easily accessible. Strongly Recommendation to visit this center to witness rich heritage of our country.

Mesmerizing Kalaripayattu and Kathakali Experience I recently visited the Kadathanadan Kalari and Navarasa Kathakali Centre in Thekkady, and it was truly an unforgettable experience! The hour-long demonstrations of Kalaripayattu and Kathakali were breathtaking, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Kerala. The performers were incredibly skilled, and the energy was palpable. I loved how they invited the audience to participate and try out the martial art techniques. The explanations provided were informative and added depth to the performances. The venue was well-maintained, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend this centre to anyone interested in experiencing Kerala's traditional arts. Would definitely recommend and revisit!

Had a wonderful experience at Green Park Spice plantation. The place provides guided tours to the spice garden for a nominal fee. The tour guide provided detailed information regarding various spices. They also have shop where they sell all the spices from the farm itself. Excellent experience.

This is a place you should definitely not miss !! The tour/taste around the plantage , the guides , the shop after.. everything was amazing it made our short stay in Periyar complete ! We paid more that the 150 because it was absolutely more worth than that 🤩

Green Park Spices plantation is a 17-acre spice plantation where a wide variety of spices are grown, now run by the second-generation of the family. On arrival, Mr. Abhishek guided us around the plantation giving us valuable insights into the world of spices in as much as their varied applications go, their growth process, harvesting and processing before they reach ultimate consumers. He also enlightened us on selection of spices available in retail stores. The tour was kept interesting because Mr. Abhishek kept quizzing us on spices while sharing his abundant knowledge with us. The plantation's sales outlet has a huge variety of spices, their proprietary masalas (created from their own spices), oils and condiments, besides souvenirs and gifts, some made from a single block of genuine teak wood. Even if the prices of their spices are higher than general retail stores, it is substantially offset with the quantities used to achieve far greater results in your cooking. Most importantly, in this day and age of adulteration, one can be assured of genuine spices procured from this plantation. We wish them every success in their endeavours!

The place is very good and serene. Our host, Sapna, was very supportive, and she explained the things in detail. Got to know abt so many hidden facts about spices and came to know that the most of the spices we were eating till date are duplicate. Also bought lots of natural and original spices. Will recommend that if you are coming to Thekkady, then buy spices directly from gardens as the shops are filled with duplicate cheap items.

A must for all visitors who love their spices. We were so pleased this was in one of our itenary and to see the real spices grown and explanation we had by our guide was amazing. Well done team. We ended up getting a bag full of goodies. Also lots of ginger sweets were amazing too. Thank you once again .

In this place you can see spice trees like cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, pepper, nutmeg and many more under the guidance of the guide Insaf who will give you comprehensive information about the spices. There is a shop where you can buy spice products, the place is worth a try. Entry fee is Rs 100 per person.

Loved their farm so much! The way they explained everything and cared for the bees like their own babies was heartwarming. The overall experience was amazing we even got 3 bottles of honey, and it tastes absolutely delicious, worth every penny. A must-visit place with such dedicated people!

We really enjoyed our little tour at the farm. We learned about bees and how bees work in a bee hive. The honey tasted really great. Mr. Philip gained many awards and the honey benefits are amazing.

A nice hotel that reminds me a bit of a time travel to the late 80s. Family with 3 children (6,9,11) The rooms are spacious and clean although the sheets and towels provided need updating. The mini bar did not work properly. Regarding the safe, it is not attached to the wall and they needed to replace it. The breakfast is good and varied and mainly suitable for the local diner. The staff should be positively mentioned, who did everything to satisfy our needs and prepare food to the children's taste. Cons - Loud music in the evening from a nearby entertainment venue.

If one is from a city, where they live in a multi-story apartment with amenities, this hotel will be a disappointment, as it is built in the model of 9 Story service apartment type rooms. Does not give the vibe of a resort in a hill station. The Activity room in 8th floor is extremely disappointing with 0 activities available beyond 7 yrs of age group. Whatever is available is also broken and the whole room is shabby & ill maintained and screaming for renovation and attention. I was on a privilege suite, which was spacious with a hall attached with a rest room & a bedroom with attached balcony & good A/C, however the TV comes with local cable set Top box with only few malayam channels & some Free other language channels, which is disappointing. House keeping is found wanting, they do not take out the trash or replace tea/coffee packets or refill dental kit pastes/shower caps. One needs to call reception to get each of these addressed. I did not eat at the restaurant, but heard the food there is very good. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THE TRAVEL DESK - THEY ARE OUTRIGHT LOOTERS, THEY CHARGE DOUBLE THE GOING RATE. - A SCAM. DO NOT AVAIL LAUNDRY FROM THE HOTEL - THEY CHARGE A BOMB, you can get new famcy clothes for that rate in the Reliance smart Bazaar in Thekady & discard your old clothes :-) There is an auto stand outside the hotel, they charge Rs 50 to get to Thekady bus stand or market & Rs 80 to get to Periyar boating parking area. Swimming pool on 9th floor is good with great views of the mountains, however the bathing & changing area near pool for both men and women is smelly and not at all cleaned by house keeping. Beware of the security outside the reception, he does not help in anyway when you tug along your bags during check-in, however during checkout he is in your face trying to help move your luggage from reception to your vehicle, expecting tips. Rest of the hotel staff are friendly. Sterling has leased this property, they do not own this property outright. Having stayed in sterling else where this property is a major disappointment and is not a sterling experience. There are better stay options nearby.

I recently stayed at Sterling Thekkady during a family trip to Thekkadly, and it was a wonderfull experience. The property is well-maintained with a peaceful ambience and beautifull views of the surrounding greenery. The location is convenient, just a short drive from Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary and the main town area. The rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable, with all the basic amenities needed for a relaxing stay. The staff, especially Ajith from house keeping, was polite, courteous, and always ready to help, which made our experience even better. Overall, Sterling Thekkady offers a comfortable and memorable stay with warmmm hospitality. I would definitely recommend it for anyone visiting Thekkady.

We stayed at Greenwood Thekkady for three days in a suite room, and it was a wonderful experience. The room was spacious, comfortable, and beautifully designed with a traditional Kerala touch. The entire stay was awesome. It was so enjoyable and kids enjoyed a lot. We had a pleasant stay at Greenwoods Resort, Thekkady. The location is great—right in the heart of Thekkady and surrounded by peaceful greenery, which makes for a relaxing atmosphere. However, we requested a bathtub, and it took nearly 2 hours to be arranged after multiple follow-ups. This delay affected our experience and shows that customer service could be improved, especially when it comes to handling guest requests promptly. Other than that, the resort itself is beautiful and well-maintained

We spent one night at Hotel Peppervine in Thekkady during our Kerala trip. This 4-star property, part of the IGS International Group (which also operates the 5-star "Element Court" just opposite of Peppervine), provided an excellent stay. ​Room & Comfort: We booked a spacious Deluxe Room (on the second floor, room number starting with 3XX) to accommodate three people, including a child. The size was generous, and the room was well-equipped with a double bed, wardrobe, shoe rack, study table, electric kettle, and a hair dryer. Large glass windows offered a nice view. The hotel also offers Super Deluxe and Honeymoon category rooms. ​Staff & Service: The staff's behavior was excellent. They were truly helpful and committed to providing the best service. ​Dining: We enjoyed the in-house restaurant, which serves a buffet for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The food quality and taste were great. ​Cleanliness & Facilities: The Deluxe Room's bathroom was very clean and spacious. Essential amenities like 24-hour hot water, WiFi, power backup, sweeming pool, spa, and a lift were all available and functioning well. ​Local Area: The local market is conveniently located within 1 km of the hotel. We found many spices and bakery products at reasonable prices here.

The only place which was wrong with this beautiful Hotel was its Location. A Beautiful place to stay with your family and friends. Rooms & washrooms very clean, clean Linen and Helpful staff. Swimming pool is also too good, very clean and safe for average weighted person (a small pool is also provided for kids). We only had breakfast and Menu for breakfast is good, taste is also good.

I really love the ambience and infrastructure of the resort, it's a mix of the culture and modern times. The food served is also delectable!! I was pleasantly surprised by how beautiful and wonderful our experience at Peppervine Hotel would be. The facilties, rooms, amenities and most importantly the people made this stay at Peppervine an unforgettable experience. I came with my family and we had an unexpected experience where someone needed medical assistance. Unfortunately our driver was not with us at the time and we ask for help from the hotel. The staff named Sarath tried for a rickshaw for us and when he was unsuccessful they organised a car by their own staff employee Noel to transport us to the hospital. Everything was perfect from the get go at this hotel. It was a fantastic stay and I look forward to returning for a longer stay the next time. A special mention to the staff who became our superheroes for the trip : Sarath, Noel, Jishnu, Geethu and Vishnu.

The location is beautiful with amazing views, especially during the rain. Staff are very responsive and helpful. The food is diverse and tasty, but tea service needs improvement – it often arrives late, and sometimes it never reaches the room as promised. The room and bathroom were clean, though adding a carpet or rug would make the floor more comfortable. The gym requires better organization, more equipment, and proper air conditioning. Overall, the hotel is clean, comfortable, and the experience was very good.

The in-house restaurant is convenient, and while the food could be slightly better in taste, it was always served on time with no delays. Parking space is ample, and the staff were extremely accommodating to our needs first and courteous throughout our stay. Overall, a satisfying experience. We stayed at Avadale Thekkady for 3 nights and we were 3 families with 6 kids. The rooms were clean, spacious, and very comfortable after a day of exploring. The staff were incredibly helpful and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. We had an early morning trip and though the breakfast starts at 8, they packed simple breakfast for us. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Thekkady with family and looking for a peaceful, well-kept place to stay. Food inside is okay, but there are many local hotels if you want to taste traditional cuisine

Stayed in Avadale Thekkady(Standard Room) for 1N. Would highly recommend to book package with breakfast & dinner since the cost difference to add dinner was not much and the quality of food provided was amazing. Also there is no restaurant nearby so better to have in hotel itself. The staff is very helpful and the room was spacious.

He kindly showed us two room options—one with a private balcony priced at ₹1500, and another with a common balcony priced at ₹1200. We opted for the one with the private balcony. The room was simple, neat, and very clean, and we were especially impressed by the cleanliness of the bathroom as well. As the weather was quite cold at night, we didn’t need air conditioning, which made the stay even more comfortable. Mr. Suresh went above and beyond to make our visit memorable. He not only helped us plan our itinerary but also arranged discounted passes for a Kathakali show, which was a wonderful cultural experience. He also provided detailed guidance for the Periyar Boat Safari, ensuring that we reached the spot on time. Thanks to his help, we had a delightful experience and were lucky to spot bisons and deer during the scenic boat ride. Bamboo creak is an excellent place to stay when in Thekkady. It's built is absolutely beautiful with a lot of trees and flowers. Aesthetically very pleasing. We were the only guests on the dates we had visited. The breakfast served was really tasty. The owners stay downstairs and were very soft spoken.

Bamboo creak is an excellent place to stay when in Thekkady. It's built is absolutely beautiful with a lot of trees and flowers. Aesthetically very pleasing. Great Environment. The best stays in Thekkady. Excellent host. Calm atmosphere.

The Homestay is run by the cutest couple who are extremely helpful and humble. They cater to all the requirements and even let us use their home kitchen for our requirements. The location is closeby the market area but still far away to dim out any noise. The rooms are very well decorated and there so many plants around. They even have mosquito nets around the beds. Overall a beautiful experience from the hosts.

My stay at Periyar Inn was truly amazing! This is a fantastic place run by an incredibly welcoming couple. The inn is located on a narrow road, but the effort is worth it. While we initially had to struggle a bit with parking, the owner was very active, immediately stepped in, and helped us sort it out—a great example of their accommodating service. The rooms are clean and hygienic, making for a very comfortable stay. The highlight of our visit, though, was the hospitality. Jobin was invaluable, helping us seamlessly with bookings and excellent suggestions for places to visit throughout our trip. And you must try the food! Bincy’s homemade breakfast was absolutely amazing—a perfect start to every day. We felt truly looked after and would highly recommend Periyar Inn to anyone visiting the area.

Budget homestay with wonderful service and friendly hosts. The room was spacious and the bathroom was very clean. We were served a sumptuous breakfast which was equally tasty. If you are looking for a budget stay with good rooms and amenities then this would be the ideal place for your stay near the periyar tiger reserve. The boating area is situated at a distance of about 1km from this homestay. The elephant junction is about 4km away. Great place to stay in Thekkady. Highly recommended.

5 star is not enough for this homestay. One of best hospitality we have received in my whole life. The homestay really felt like a home. This homestay is the most beautiful homestay in thekaddy with the most beautiful couples. The food they cook for us was really delicious with lots of love in it. It seems we have received inner peace while staying there. They have also arranged cabs for us with a reasonable rate.Thank you so much for all the heart warming gestures. They are renovating. So if you plan to visit before March 2025, please call and make sure everything is done. Location - great. Right at the centre of the city. Only plus point of this hotel. Everything is walkable distance. Rooms - Getting old but okay for the price you are paying. The housekeeping staff was good and was cooperative. Service - The room is service is very bad and I am only talking about ordering tea and water. They just take forever. I ordered water and he took 30 minutes to get it to my room. When asked, the manager first said they took it to different room. Later he said they don't have enough staff. So big 👎 They have ample parking.

The only good thing about this place is that it is walkable from the bus stand. HOWEVER: We did see a few bad reviews, but due to circumstances, and because it was just for a night, we had to compromise and stay here. I initially thought it wouldn't be so bad as I was only looking for basic things like hot water and breakfast. But it turned out to be the worst experience. Firstly, the toilet stunk as soon as we entered the room. When we informed the receptionist, he sprayed a room freshner instead of cleaning, as the room service people were unavailable on a Sunday. The next morning, there was no geyser/hot water facility. I had to heat water in a kettle batch by batch and fill the bucket. I don't understand how come there's no hot water in a so-called 3-star hotel located in a Hill Station. As we had booked for boating at 9.30, we asked for an early breakfast, but our request was denied. They did not even bother to provide us with breakfast even after we returned from boating. The complimentary breakfast was supposed to be provided at 8.30, but I doubt if it was prepared at all. There were no traces of kitchen staff working. All 14 members (we were the only guests) were forced to eat outside. The amount that we paid for the breakfast was not even refunded. PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY.

Overall the room facilities and services are not worth the money we paid. The breakfast spread was poor. Room did not have Air conditioning and the ventilation was also not proper. There was a fire inside the bathroom during the night and the room was full of smoke. Though we were offered a different room for that night, we were forced to stay in the same room with smell of smoke. The hotel authorities offered to address the issue but did nothing. We developed allergy the next day staying in the room and fell sick. There were limited service personnel for the breakfast area. We found fruit particles inside the coffee served to us. The coffee cup was sticky evidently due to preparing the coffee with unclean hands. The spread for breakfast was very bad and not worth the amount they charged.

Hi dear friends it takes a few minutes to read this but read it before booking rooms in this hotel. We had very worst experience with the hotel management and their service. A total of 13 members booked 5 rooms in this hotel. The first impression itself is very bad. Smelly Restrooms: Restrooms are horrible there is a bad smell coming from the restrooms We complained about it to the management they said the room service is not available we will spray room freshener for a while. After some hours again it started to smell bad. Breakfast scam : The major thing is that they mentioned breakfast is complimentary. Thekkady is a tourist spot most of the tourists start their day mostly by 7a.m. to 8 a.m that we already informed the reception that we will be leaving the rooms by 8 a.m, and to provide the breakfast earlier. The receptionist said the breakfast will be provided by 8:30 a.m. on the next day we're waiting from 7:30 - 8:30 for breakfast but we got nothing. I think this was one of their strategies to cut the breakfast from the customers. So all 13 of us without any option had breakfast at another nearby hotel. Bad accommodation: The walls, wooden cupboard, bedcot are patchy. There is no wifi connection as they mentioned in the hotel Hot water scam: Mainly there is no hot water facility as they mentioned in their accommodation. Just imagine in a hill station how a person can take a shower without hot water. As usual there is no action taken for complaining about the hot water issue. It's up to you after reading this comment I hope you don't get scammed from this hotel.

It is high time they renovate the hotel before taking any further booking. The condition of the lobby and the hallway, the rooms and the toilets were pathetic. The entire building was dusty and unclean. Patches and cracks were evrywhere. The property is surrounded by a fish market, a poultry farm, a bar and a local bus stand. Not at all suitable for families. The breakfast menu was very basic and the room rates were atleast 5 times what it is actually worth. Not even the basic toiletries were provided in rooms. We booked 6 rooms there for a group and not even a single room was worthy of any kind of appreciation.

We were to Hotel Kumily Gate in October 2024. The hotel is located near to bus stand. However the lane it is located is very much shady. One side there is vacant place which is dumping ground cum chicken farm which is smelly. We could not open the window door due to smell. The rooms are spacious but needs renovation as he walls have seepage/mold and bathrooms are smelly. The staff did provide the extra beds as requested but they did not understand the bed requirements correctly as we are a large group and we adjusted as it is only for one night. Overall not a great stay.

I booked 5 AC rooms and received confirmation with some strange names for rooms like oak etc. which had no details about AC/ Non AC rooms. After arriving we were told that 3 rooms were non AC and this is due to some glitch in MMT. Also, there was no restaurant and we had to go out for dinner. Breakfast was worst. Also, it was under renovation. There was no housekeeping staff, receptionist was handling everything and hence poor hospitality and poor response.

The owner provides nice concierge service and also he treats like a family and they even prepare lunch for me because my stomach is not good when we asked is it possible to have. We have a very good stay in spice cottage home stay. Mr.Bhasa owner is very good person.. family members also too good and lovely.. really it's a good home stay.. hospitality is too good.. I recommend this place for a perfect stay.. very clean room & bathroom with hot water facility. 100% reasonable cost.. it's a main area too.. bus stand to Vagamon, Rose Park, chennai bus stand etc, is near to that home stay.. More than that with love he gave hot water to drink, and hot tea in the early morning without any cost.. money is not a matter, He find our requirement and full filled it happily.. We visited Thekaddy last year and had the pleasure of staying at this place. Location is perfectly in the middle and close to the booking counter and bus stop. Rooms are good , clean and spacious. The owner is a nice person with positive attitude and suggested us some of the activities too. There are lot of eateries nearby. Definitely recommend the stay

Mr Basil and his father made my family feel right at home. They’re kind, courteous and generous hosts who made our stay worth remembering. The check in was smooth and late night conversation with Basil’s father was one of the better moments of our trip. It’s situated right near the forest entrance and the rooms were smelling great and spotlessly clean!! Drinking water and every basic amnesties we’re provided prior to checking in. All the fine restaurants and cafés are situated in close proximity of the property. I’d highly recommend this place eyes closed and I’d happily come back here again! 5/5 any day!!

Mr. Abdul and his family are wonderful hosts, kind and attentive. The room was comfortable, very clean, in a calm area of Thekkady, very close to the entrance of Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary and the Wildlife Office Premises, where you can book the activities inside the Park. It was a very nice moment and I really enjoyed it, especially the conversations with Mr. Abdul, and his great sense of humour. The rooms are much bigger than what we saw in other homestays. But interiors are outdated. Also, the rooms have lot of traffic noise, so avoid this place if u cannot bear. Its right on highway to main town in Thekkady. Bedding and room interiors should be refreshed and updated. Internet doesn't work always in room. Hot water is available. Host Raju did provide us complimentary tea for our group. Prices are reasonable.

Excellent Homestay. Has three amble rooms and one of them being more spacious compared to other two. Each of the three rooms have attached bathroom facility. It is clean and tidy. Each of the rooms have balcony which gives view to the outside road. It also has Televisions fitted in each rooms. Service is also good. Warm Hospitality. Check in time is 2pm and check out time is 12pm. We paid total amount of 2600₹ for one night of stay. (1000 for the large room and 800 each for the other two) . It is really economical choice at that rate. Also has parking facility. Overall Loved the stay.❤️❤️❤️

No electricity when checked at 2.30pm owner told electricty will come back at 5pm so we compromised on that and went for shopping and came back at 6.30pm. There was an old crt tv but it was not working informed this to owner and requested for another room but he refused it so i had taken refund Rs 900/. Very poor dealings from owner. This stay was approx 1 kms from town and food was not served from here. Not recommended.

Spent a night here. The room was beautiful, simple and clean. The owners and the manager are sweet and helpful. It is up a hill, so getting there might look a bit tricky, but it's actually quite easy. There are food places, markets, fuel station at a walking distance.

It is a beautiful home nestled in lush greenery. I recently stayed here for two nights and three days with my family of 5, including my 1.5-year-old. Their warm hospitality touched us. The rooms were clean and well-kept. Neighborhood quite and peaceful. We enjoyed tasty, freshly prepared home-cooked breakfast and dinner. Due to the off-season, we were the only tenants, so Mr. Rajesh and Mr. Lawrence showed us around in their own car. Even dropped us off at the market and picked us up when we asked. The hosts made us feel at home. We had a nice stay. Its a great choice at reasonable tariff.

It is located a small distance away from the bus stand. But it is easy enough to find by using maps. There are multiple approach roads that leads to this place. There is parking available inside for one car, which is great considering few other stays in the area. The rooms were clean and good. We had water bottles inside each room. Bathrooms were clean as well. Towels were provided. There was shower gel in the bathroom. Availability of hot water was a problem, at least for us. The hosts were great people. They helped us wherever they can, even gave half a Jack fruit for our kids to eat. Overall, it is a great stay for the asking price and will recommend it to anyone who are traveling with their family.

Rooms are big and clean. Amenities like towels, drinking water, shower gel was provided. Also, the hosts were very welcoming people. We had dinner for 1 night at the homestay as well. We got excellent local food at this place served by the host herself. We were happy that we could eat the local, authentic, tasty food. Overall, it was an excellent experience.

It was better than we expected. We got one of the best rooms, overlooking the forest. The views were incredible — we spotted deer and wild boars in their natural habitat, unlike seeing them in caged zoos. It was one of the best experiences we've had. The host was very friendly and kind. Highly recommended for nature lovers.

Wild Window Forest View is a fantastic property in the heart of Thekkady The owners Mr George and his wife Mrs Shanty are a wonderful host We were fortunate enough to book our 1 night stay here Rooms are right facing the periyar tiger reserve forest Generally there are sambar deer that come very near to the property But we missed it due to the rainy climate Mrs Shanty prepared a very delicious 😋 local fish with coconut base and roti which made our day It's a basic property with not many amenities but very very rich by heart ❤️ Cheers to an experience with them Ppl go if you love to be in nature and inside nature

It was clean, stylish, roomy with excellent service in where we had dinner. Food was good and great, Room itself was well equipped and comfortable. I was very pleased with my stay. We had an amazing time staying here. The host Mr. Philip is very friendly and helpful. The place is really well maintained and is located in between a farm. There is ample space for recreation activities and has a camp fire place as well. Breakfast was served, appam and kadala curry on one of the days was really tasty. Definitely recommended.

We stayed for 4 nights at Able Homestay and had a very pleasant experience. The rooms are very simple but are clean and comfortable. The hosts are very attentive and Selvaraj was extremely helpful in helping us to book tours and giving us information on the local buses. His information made our stay excellent. No meals available but there are plenty of restaurants and cafes in the town which is a 10 minute walk away.

I had arrived late in Kumily at around 10 pm and I hadn't booked a place to stay yet as I don't plan my trips in advance and like to get the feel of the place first before I decide on the duration of my stay there. So I was wandering the streets of Kumily looking to find a place to crash for the night. I checked a travel booking app and decided on a place. I had nearly reached that hotel, but then I heard the sound of rock music originating from the rooftop of a nearby building. As I looked at it, it turned out to be a homestay. And that was it. I instantly decided to drop my search and directly went to this place. The host of Mountain View Homestay, Afsal, is one of the most chilled out fellows I have met. He immediately makes you feel at home. He will also make a kickass breakfast for you in the morning. I also had a private trek arranged for me. Pradul, who manages the trek, was also very friendly and I thoroughly enjoyed climbing the mountain with him and one other amazing guest of the homestay. The trek wasn't easy, at least for me. But I completed it, and it felt like an achievement. The homestay also has an in-house yoga teacher named Sophie. I also heard great reviews about her. I wish I had the discipline to take yoga classes. I also met people from different nationalities who had come here as guests and had a great time chatting with them on the rooftop cafe late into the night. As you spend some time here, you feel like you're staying at a friend's place as there is a great deal of warmth about this place, and it has also been decorated in such a beautiful way. Made some great memories here and it felt hard to leave.

The perfect mixture between a hostel and a hotel: the rooms are simple but spotless clean and cosy, whilst the roof terrace is a lovely communal space to hang out, meet other travelers, chil in the hammock or read a book. For travellers on a budget - there are a few tents available in a separate area on the terrace (under the roof, so protected). Location is great, a 2 minute walk to the bus station and the town center, 5 minutes to the Periyar Park entrance and ticket office. Food availabilities are amazing and very affordable in Kumily. Staff at the Homestay were very helpful, helped us plan a few things in the area and made us feel super welcome. One of our favourite places to stay in Kerala!

If you are traveling with family, I would recommend avoiding booking this hotel. However, for single individuals or bachelors, it is cost-efficient, especially in the new building. Please note that the cleanliness of the bedsheets should be improved, and although the rooms are newly constructed, it resembles more of a newly built lodge, making it less suitable for families.

I booked this home stay in some website. after reaching the homestay literally I surprised. This is not five star hotel, but this stay is worth. The Room was spacious with soap and towels provided. 24 hours hot water for bathing. Host is kind and extremely helpful. We did find it a bit difficult to find the place because google Maps couldn't locate the place accurately, but the host walked out in the rain and directed us to her place. Hubby had taken a little Ill and our host was gracious enough to provide us with hot water and some kitchen remedies we asked for. Overall, it was a wonderful stay.

It's a charming homestay, but that's about the only positive aspect. There’s no food available on-site, and even drinking water isn’t provided as a courtesy. The host also insisted on full payment at check-in, which is typically collected at checkout. Nothing homely about this homestay. It's just a place to crash for a night and move.

We were provided with a faulty bed. One side of the bed looks to be hallow. Very bad. Please improve the standard. They first make you to pay and then see the room. Very bad idea. Money should be collected during check-out. Providing bad bed and collecting money in prior doesn't seem to be a good business value.

In this hotel some rooms are spacious but some are small and campbed is given instead of wooden bed. No parking is there. If some one come here with big bus then it is too difficult to enter in this lane in front of hotel. AC TV is there in room but not working.

Mystic Trees Cottage was a great experience! The rooms are very clean, the interiors done tastefully, and the surroundings green and afford one a feel of living amidst nature with a variety of birds to be spotted just outside. Mystic Trees is located at an easily accessible flat terrain at Kumily, so reaching there by driving your car is very easy, even for an ordinary driver. We were a family of six, including children, so stayed in two cottages, one executive and the other standard. The room facilities are very good, with big bathroom, spacious balcony and a large drawing room. It's all lush green all arround, you can walk in a shrubbery path in the property itself; a play area for children and a flowery garden. Home-made food is available as per order. Teas are served whenever we want. The manager and the room service - Sri Shibu and Sri Reghu - were very nice, welcoming, smiling and ready for any service. They arranged for a good sight seeing trip also. Altogether the stay for two nights was very peaceful and will be remembered fondly for long. Highly recommended.
