Leisureland for a swim today what can I say.Im a disabled swimmer that uses a snorkle. The staff on the deck of the pool was more than helpful .We're happy to help you get into /out of pool. Not pushing for you to leave .Staff where there when you wanted to get out. Happy to let the disabled showers be used .Had a very quite swim with all the help I got need

Pool was decent, kids had fun. Changing room dated though. Dark and freezing cold. Opening hours didn’t match online which is difficult to explain to 2 kids excited for morning swim and not eating to be ready for it.

Fr John Misty brought us here. Great Gig, Leisureland Is a great venue, plenty space for parking, staff nice and it's a very safe spot. Only conplaint I have is, the Air Con. Could be so much better. Everyone was sopping by end of night. Otherwise, toilets clean, easy if you are in wheelchair.
David W — Google review
Good venue. Great location. VNot enough ladies toilets. And no toilet paper despite the high price of everything there.

The best Irish song and dance Show.Beside amazing Dancer who won several Worldchampion titles.Very talented musicians, singers, songwriters create the musical surrounding of the show.An absolute must if you are in Galway from May to September.

I rarely leave negative reviews, as I understand mistakes can happen—but this really needs to be addressed. We visited the swimming pool for the first time in a long while, and our kids were so excited. Unfortunately, the excitement quickly faded when we found out that half the pool was closed due to maintenance. Fair enough—we still paid full price, which we didn’t mind, assuming everything else would be up to standard. But what shocked us was the level of dirt and neglect throughout the facility. The floors, changing rooms, and bathrooms were all visibly dirty, and there was a strong smell of urine that made the experience both unpleasant and unhygienic. It raises serious concerns about cleanliness and potential health risks. This place clearly needs a deep clean and better ongoing maintenance. Really disappointing.
Martin S — Google review
Super day out with the kids. Good size family changing rooms. Kids loved the waterslide. Not to busy. €32 for a family of 5 (2 adultd & 3 kids) Nice little coffee shop. Parking is €2 per hour or €12 for the day.
Kevin D — Google review
Very disappointing visit today. I brought my daughter to use the loo before entering the pool, i was disgusted and sockened to find there was human feces on the floor around the toilet and not to mention the very potent smell of urine in the toilet facility area. When the issue was brought to the attention of a male member of staff at the front counter i was advised that there was a plummer working there and may have caused the disturbance. There is no reason or excuse for stool to be on the floor. The pool itself was freezing that our stay didnt exceed 30mins. The changing facilities are very dark and also very cold. We as a family wont be returning. We found this facility to be far too cold and dirty. Very disappointing

Fitness center
The Kingfisher Club at the University of Galway offers a range of facilities for relaxation, fitness, and family fun. The club's 25m swimming pools are supervised by qualified lifeguards and maintained to high standards of cleanliness and safety. The friendly team is on hand to assist with any queries. Members have praised the accommodating staff and diverse equipment available for cardio, weights, and classes. While some noted that it can get busy at times, overall it comes recommended for standard daily exercise.
Great sport complex and gym. It has a lot of training machines and weights/dumbbells, treadmills, etc. During the academic year, it could become very crowded in the mornings (before classes start) and after 5 pm (when classes end). Other issues are machines becoming out of order frequently and being repaired very slowly and not having some machines like chest fly, back fly or any decline benches.
Majid K — Google review
My son goes to swimming lessons on a Sunday. The pool is normally cold but today it was freezing. He got out of the pool 10 minutes into the lesson because he was so cold. I tried to give him a shower to warm him up & the supervisor informed me that they are having issues with the heat & there was no hot water in any of the showers. You could at least let customers know using social media or a notice in the reception area instead of wasting customers time. Poor service!
Philip R — Google review
We went for the Natural Stromgman tournament. All the staff were friendly and very helpful. They also had a nice cafe with a wide selection of fresh food. Great venue!
Michael G — Google review
The gym is a very unpleasant place. It’s very messy, and has no A/C or appropriate ventilation. The air feels unbreathable and whenever the temperature is slightly higher it’s just impossible to workout. They only have one fan and it’s stationed outside the main workout area for some reason.
Pamina C — Google review
Prices have increased from €10 to €12 for pay as you to use the pool. No problem with that if the pool area was well maintained but there are a number of issues that havent been catered for such as; hooks missing from cubicles, doors difficult to lock; no complimentary shampoo in shower and bathrooms/flooring is always filty; some lockers broken. Just lacks care and attention. Why haven't these issues been brought to the attention of maintenance? Reflects poorly on management.
Liam L — Google review
AVOID! It's not clean, staff are unfriendly and defensive when you complain. Just look at some of the dreadful responses to reviews on here! Gym floor very untidy and not clean and rarely any staff around. Machine seats ripped and many not working properly. Every bathroom has mould around sinks etc. Hairs in all showers, no soap, no moisturiser, no spinner for swim trunks. Lack of hooks in changing rooms. Over subscribed and used mainly by overseas students probably because they get a heavy discount. Booking system haphazard. Lockers not cleaned, swimming pool not clean with discoloured tiles and always foreign objects in water. Sauna and steam smell bad and neither hot enough. Disgrace for a university gym, go elsewhere, even Leisureland is better
AB C — Google review
Good fitness and pool, don't forget your own lock and swimming cap. Also, you can't relax in sauna, since people are really loud

With locations in Knocknacarra and Bohermore, members enjoy the flexibility of accessing both facilities. The Bohermore site features a 20-meter swimming pool complemented by a luxurious spa suite that includes a sauna, steam room, tylarium, and jacuzzi—perfect for unwinding after an invigorating workout.
I really love the classes, great variety and time options. Siobhan and Tina are absolutely brilliant instructors. Nice warm pool, great hot tub.
Maeve O — Google review
Great and helpful staff, constantly things out of order like cold plunge, sauna or steam room. Hardly ever everything working at the same time. Shameful for management as the members fee and sign up fees are so high.
Lucas H — Google review
I have a 2 complaint for this branch of the NRG gym. 1st when you pay the rates they are asking everything should be functioning. Well most of the time the steam room isn't working. Second of all I go by a schedule and I come in at 06 in the morning when they open, actually this being the 1st reason I enrolled. Today the 29.07.2024 i left the gym at 06:30 because it wasn't open. Being on a tight schedule and have to leave for work for 8 did not have time to do my morning routine and that has caused me a lot of stress and wasted my time showing that the respect for the customers in this case is less then 0. Thank you NRG. Great start of the week.
Alexandru R — Google review
small gym, always busy, pool isn't the cleannest! never found anything I lost in this gym! I forgot my goggles once then I asked them the next day and it was gone! (bohremore) few months later, I forgot my goggles and my daughters (3 years old) and it disappeared however I rang them and asked them to keep the goggles and I will stop by to collect it! but when I stopped it was gone again! (Clybaun)

Staff are brilliant, highly skilled, patient and very accommodating. I need someone to make me do the work so I mostly just attend classes. It is so handy for me that I can attend Knocknacara on days that I'm not working and go to lunch time classes in Bohermore on my work days. Sometimes I just go for a shower after a swim in the sea. I think that I get great value for money.
Mary W — Google review
Great club, friendly staff, lots of gym equipment to suit all abilities, great range of classes taught by really great instructors, including online options. Plus pool and sauna facilities.
Marie C — Google review
Would reccomend another gym! Pluses. Good classes Staff are great They have an old sled Outdoor jacuzzi Negatives Place is filthy! showers are manky Sauna very steamy. Not open in the morning when they should be Steam room hasn't worked properly in well over a year Pool very dirty People go straight from sauna into pool. Recent upgrades were all about style over substance. No slant boards, wedges, tib bar or nordic ect, Good thing is membership comes with bohermore whose leisure facilities and changing rooms are much cleaner
Colm A — Google review
Was in there yesterday. Used to be a member for years. I remember it being a decent spot. Pool area needs to be cleaned properly. Rust and corrosion on the drinking water fountain. As other have noted the tiles & steam room in particular need a serious deep clean.

After a swim or workout, visitors can relax in the sauna, steam room, or Jacuzzi to ease any aches and pains.
I love this gym, all the staff are super friendly and helpful. There is a great range of machines and classes. My son also does swimming lessons here, he really enjoys them. He has improved alot since we moved him here.
Evonne N — Google review
Great equipment and lovely staff. Martina at reception is fantastic and is so warm and welcoming to everyone who comes in. She's worth her weight in gold!
Ctjomahony — Google review
Friendly staff and great to have a €12 charge for single use instead of required memberships, lockers are nice and big too. Some things i'd like changed though, free water dispensers on both floors of the gym (There's none at all, EVERY gym should have these!), anti-slip matts in the changing room (Slippery floors and people dizzy from the treadmill is an accident waiting to happen) Pool should be available for ALL to use at ALL times regardless of swimming lessons in progress or at least some of it available, its kind of ridiculous waiting until 5.30pm to use it. Jacuzzi needs to be fixed and more of the smaller dumbell weights (6 to 8KG) added to the gym, 3 times i've went up there to use them but they're all in use
Runaway C — Google review
I've been using the club for a while. The staff are really friendly and the pool is the perfect size. We have started to do 1 to 1 swimming sessions with marin with my 11 year old. Marin is a top guy and my son really enjoys the sessions. The progress made with marin stands out and his technique has massively improved to the point I can't keep up with him. Marin is a great instructor and great with my young fella. I might need some lessons myself to keep up 😆
Tom N — Google review
I highly recommend individual swimming lessons with Marin. The combination of friendly and flexible approach, excellent communication, feedback after each class, and tangible progress made this a truly worthwhile investment in my daughter’s swimming journey. I would absolutely seek out Marin’s instruction again in the future.
Malgorzata M — Google review
We have both our kids in swimming lessons in kingfisher renmore. We found the staff and instructors very nice. We were doing group lessons at first, the instructors are great but the progress is slow. We then started to get private lessons with Marin,an incredible instructor with a fantastic way of teaching the kids. The kids went from struggling with a float to swimming lengths of the pool in no time. Granted the private lessons are more expensive, but when you consider the amount of time you will spend in group lessons it probably balances out. Marin came highly recommend to us, and I'd be delighted to recommend him to anyone and everyone. The improvement in the kids in such a short time is phenomenal . I really didn't expect such great results . 100% recommend Marin
Derek H — Google review
Bought the gym membership exclusively for swimming. Now they have introduced coaching classes were they take up almost every lanes and leaves the members with one or two lanes. Had been hearing complaints of this and still no action has taken place.
Sophia V — Google review
I'm a regular pay as you go using the gym and pool, there is only certain times you can you use the gym and pool, but I usually go, but this time the manger was very rude, told me the gym a pool is not public place at certain times, so I had to leave 😞

The Ardilaun Leisure Club is a fantastic facility located within the 4-star Ardilaun Hotel Galway City. Situated in its own tranquil grounds just 1km from the city center, this family-owned hotel offers complimentary access to the leisure club for guests. The club features an 18-meter swimming pool, hydrotherapy pool, heated children's pool, sauna, steam room, and jacuzzi.
I've been a member at this gym now for almost a year. The best thing about it is the staff. Fran, Andrew and Anna (among others) are so friendly and warm. Fran's hiit classes and zumba classes are excellent , she puts in so much energy and is so enthusiastic day in, day out. Andrews spin classes are always brilliant and he always encourages his class participants who he remembers by name . Would definitely recommend this gym if you like to have a variety of classes and staff who always make you feel welcome.

Kilcornan Swimming Pool, located in Galway, is a public pool owned by the Brothers of Charity. It offers open swimming sessions on weekends from 2pm to 3pm, with admission prices at 6 for adults and 3 for children. In addition to public hours, the pool hosts swimming groups and also serves as the location for Fionas Swim School's weekly lessons catering to beginners, improvers, and advanced swimmers for both children and adults.
The famous club house!!! That my son attends. Which apparently needs updating with Irish Americans. Funds
Katrine E — Google review
The kids attend swimming lessons here and I am very happy with their swimming classes and progress. The changing facilities are in need of a serious upgrade though. It's difficult to shower young kids there for various reasons, old kind of dirty feeling changing rooms/showers and too small for the number of kids in the classes, no hair dryers and very poor bench space! It's much easier bundle them in the car and go home. There is lots of parking. There is also a good playground just beside the pool. There are fabulous walks all around the area. No toileting facilities though outside of the swimming pool area, which you are not suppose to use unless swimming. Public sessions are very short, only for one hour (between 2-3pm) on Saturdays and Sundays. There is also no place to get snacks or drinks at the pool or around in the woods.
Meabh G — Google review
Great pool. However I will never attend again due to a rude staff member. I believe his name was Mark. I did not even interact with him and I was shook at how unbelievably rude he was towards people. Shouting and cursing and marching around the place. Management need to get involved as he should not be treating anyone in this manner I don’t care who he is
