Water Parks
Trousdell Aquatics Center is a spacious and stunning public pool that caters to various activities for all ages. It features an Olympic-sized swimming pool with lifeguards on duty, as well as an activity pool and a lap pool. The center offers amenities such as water aerobics sessions, swim school, and open swim hours. Children can enjoy the tower-slide wave pool and water slide play park in a safe environment.
Well maintained activity pool with a smaller water slide than at Jack McLean. The lap pool is large with a deep end. No coolers allowed!
Jennifer F — Google review
Wonderful staff and very affordable. I love that I can watch my child during the entire gymnastics session.
Valerie B — Google review
Pool and activity pool are nice. That's where it ends. Staff and rules are insane. I hope my tax dollars don't support this. They block off the big pool for swimming laps at all times so anyone over 7 has no place to play.. Also is Florida.. If there is lightning within 50 miles they close pool. They do not give you a refund or a voucher for another day. They just steal your money. It's been 2 hours since they stole my money after playing for 15 minutes. The pool is still closed and it still has not rained or lightening. Very rediculous. Staff was super rude.
Tresa F — Google review
The activity pool is nice, but the hours are insanely backwards. Being often open only from 12-4 is like saying your toddler will not only need to skip their nap, but we would also like them to suffer hear stroke. Seriously, what are you guys thinking? If the timing were to help people without AC, they wouldn't be charging an admission fee. Backwards.
Harrison P — Google review
VERY UPSET RIGHT NOW!! NOT EVEN 5 MINUTES AFTER PAYING $9.50 FOR ME AND MY HUSBAND TO ENJOY THE DAY AT THE POOL EVERY ONE WAS TOLD TO LEAVE DUE TO ""LIGHTING " THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NO LIGHTING!! WE DID NOT EVEN GET TO GET IN THE POOL & THEY REFUSED TO REIMBURSE US OR GIVE US A PASS FOR ANOTHER DAY. IT WAS JUST " YOU CAN COME BACK AT 4:30 IF THE LIGHTING CLEARS"" WE SEEN CHILDREN THERE CRYING THERE EYES OUT WHO LITTERLY JUST ARRIVED ALSO!!! THIS IS ABSOLUTELY WRONG! SHAME ON YOU GUYS

Public swimming pool
Wade Wehunt Pool is a popular choice among the pools available at Florida State University. It offers a clean and well-maintained environment, with a crystal-clear pool that provides a nostalgic summer vibe. The facility includes an indoor heated pool for lap swimming and an outdoor pool with a diving well. While it may not have separate amenities for children, there is a shallow area suitable for water aerobics. Additionally, the pool area features spacious bathrooms with changing stalls and body wash in the showers.
$4 a head for an adult cannot be beat! The pool is always clean, it never smells like chlorine or has a haze. They do not have a seperate kids pool or slide, but there is a shallow area for water aerobics. If you come before noon there are 8 lanes for lap swimming, and 5 open in the afternoon so you might have to share a lane. But everyone is super friendly and I've never had a problem sharing. The bathrooms are huge with changing stalls and bodywash in the showers. This is the only pool we use, it's the best!
Christy J — Google review
The pool is great! but the weight room hasn't been there for a long time. Try Jack McClean Recreation Center for weights.
Ben O — Google review
Been coming here to swim with my friend and have been very pleased with the experience. Staff is always friendly, pool and pool deck are clean, and it’s nicely tucked away back inside Myers Park. Great location, great facility.
Lisa R — Google review
There are several pools in Tallahassee, and this one is my fave. I only wish they were open more hours and more days. I really love the smaller pool and quieter atmosphere - nothing at all against the other facilities. But when I am at Wade Wehunt, I feel a bit like I did when I was a kid in the summer. The facilities are always clean, the pool is crystal clear and bright. There is a weight room with several machines for those who want even more exertion. Wade Wehunt has water aerobics, lifeguard training, hosts the Senior Games, has open swim and lanes that can be reserved and even and area for folks who just want to swim around and enjoy the atmosphere. There are lots of chair for sunning, some spare equipment if you forgot your fins or kickboard and a shower room with a suit spinner, several good mirrors, a heater and a hair dryer. They really do have it all.
Robin M — Google review
Beautiful park & pool, with multiple activities. Highly recommend the water aerobics classes. Great exercise in the refreshing water!
Deedee G — Google review
Great public pool. Covered with bubble in winter months which keeps pool much warmer than if it we're exposed to the winter air. It offers lap swimming and water aerobics. It also hosts swim meets so there are a few times during a month when the pool opens later or closes earlier to host the swim meets. Great facility.
Sue W — Google review
The staff are friendly and the pool and locker room are maintained well. They have good hours.

FSU Baseball games are always a lot of fun. It is actually something I can take my wife and two teenage sons to and they all have a good time. Highly recommended. Always a good time.

The campus is sprawling and beautiful. The orientation was thorough and extremely well executed. Class registration went smoothly as well. I'm considerably impressed and am looking forward to my daughter's education. Kudos!
Jon R — Google review
Beautiful campus! Fun atmosphere! Really enjoyed the football game, the circus, and Proof, the bar in the Union. Campus has changed over the last 30 years, it's definitely gotten better!!
Emzenyoga — Google review
I've got two years left at this institution. So far, I love it here. Advisement is great and getting classes is very smooth. After I graduate from here, I will be an alumnus of all three iconic institutions of higher learning in Tallahassee Community College (TSC now) Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University, and soon Florida State University. An Eagle, a Rattler, and a Nole forever.
Xavier W — Google review
Beautiful Campus. Love the atmosphere and the energy. Great place to send my kid to college. He's loving it at FSU!!
K. O — Google review
They campus is absolutely gorgeous and we had a great tour here. The area is really nice as well. I can't complain about the weather either since I was born and raised in Florida and it beats the freezing cold. They have good academics and are well recognized, at least in my perspective and I can't see a valid reason I personally wouldn't want to go here - meaning I think it would be a great school to attend. It's also in the states capital, which for my major is a huge perk.
Olivia Y — Google review
This was a great campus to go to. I went here on a field trip and it was the most beautiful campus. The scenery was nice and the buildings were clean and spacious. I highly recommend taking time to go see this university.
Zack F — Google review
Wonderful institution with highly renowned and quality professors. Most beautiful campus in the state scattered with aged live-oaks, historic buildings, and an incredible landscape design. Unmatched access to the Florida State Capitol. Tours available through the FSU Visitors Center at the stadium.

Recreation center
The Leach Student Recreation Center boasts both an indoor heated pool for lap swimming and the Morcom Aquatics Center with a top-notch outdoor pool and diving well. The facility is well-maintained, with helpful staff and ample workout equipment, although it can get crowded at times. Parking may be challenging, especially for non-students. Despite this, the center offers a social environment and a wide range of activities including racquetball, track running, and weightlifting.
I talked to an employee named Cecelia and she was so kind and helpful. This is the best gym ever thanks to her presence at leach😊
Maia H — Google review
It's dirty (hairs everywhere, equip is never wiped down) and there isn't enough equipment for everyone to use. Even for a college gym, it's not great.
Tiffany P — Google review
Horrible and judgemental gym I got racially profiled by some guys who laughed at me as I attempted to bench then I overheard one of them say the n word. The student staff is judgemental and incredibly rude. They pace around the gym and keep their eyes on me because I'm black
Th T — Google review
This gym is easily one of the most well kept and maintained gyms I have been to (only behind the UofU studentliife center). The staff are everywhere, and always helpful. I haven't run into the problem of not having the machine I want to work out with, because everything is here. The dumbbell rack is lacking though given the amount of people that workout here. And that's really the only downside. There isn't a time of day you can come here and it not be packed. Parking is also an issue, but it's FSU... What do you expect?
Trenton A — Google review
Lowkey just trolling with this review, all the staff were really nice, only complaint is that it's busy sometimes.
Conner B — Google review
It's a nice gym but the person currently in charge of it does not know what they're doing, they are clearly not a lifter. Machine placement is off and they remove chest machines just to add even more leg machines after they bought 6 new power racks. UF and UCF's are better. The spa is great though, the steam rooms are amazing.
Speedy P — Google review
The gym has too many closure days, which is really inconvenient.
Mobin B — Google review
This place has everything! I only use the pool and hot tubs but they are so nice! My friends come here and use the diving boards as well. The locker rooms were kept clean and the staff is also very helpful and friendly. They even allow for guests, which is great for when my mom visited me.

Apartment complex
Vertex Apartments are conveniently located near Doak Campbell Stadium, less than a mile from campus. The complex offers two pools and various apartment options to choose from. The staff is friendly and accommodating, with the leasing agent receiving praise for her assistance. Residents appreciate the modern units and quick maintenance service. Additionally, the location is ideal for students, with easy access to campus and regular bus routes.
Currently live here and I absolutely love it!!! The units are up to date and modern, the community is friendly and peaceful and the staff overall are amazing!! Chandler is the best, she is so sweet and helpful and knows the property in and out. Trevino is really nice and understanding and he does a good job with keeping the community here at the vertex lively! I will definitely be renewing.
Nakaisha W — Google review
Rent at your own risk. I moved here out of desperation to find an apartment that rented before August, and was heavily disappointed. There was a very large roach nest under the wine cooler(which adds about 30-50$ a month to utilities), food under the stove, and several other issues. The apartment advertised was well lit, while mine was crammed in an alley and my backyard was covered in broken glass. The apartment had several issues when I moved in (including a poorly installed, damaged vinyl floor), which the leasing office fully intended to charge me for. The leasing office is pretty abysmal, with Chandler being the only competent person most of the time. I HAD TO EMAIL BECAUSE MY PACKAGES WOULD COME PARTIALLY OPENED and they often wait days to inform you that they arrived. There are roaches in the fitness center. The neighbors are loud and leave trash anywhere they physically can. Maintenance is slow and has entered without knocking. They barely give 24 hour notice if that. The location is inconvenient and the high angle on the driveway makes it difficult to not damage your car. To top it all off, they charged me three months rent (~3000$) on the poorly installed floor, despite me having noted that it was damaged when moving in.
Daniel G — Google review
Maybe I got lucky, but I really do enjoy my unit. I rarely hear my neighbors, which is a luxury in Tallahassee student living. My only complaint is big packages not being brought to my door and the laundry center (which is really a resident issue), since I don’t have roommates and there is no in unit laundry. And I wish they’d do something about the entrances, it’s hard to see when cars are coming and you can mess up the bottom of your car when pulling in. Besides that, staff is very friendly and maintenance has always had a fast response time for me.
Amari M — Google review
I stayed there 2.5 years because the unit is nice for Tallahassee but management is terrible , there was a new one every 6 months . They never returned my deposit after months of moving out . There was always something with this place . They would do random renovations on the property and never send out warnings or announcements. My iPad was stolen and they did nothing about it . I can go on and on , but good luck
Zaria H — Google review
If I could rate this place a negative star I would. A few months ago I moved here because it was a last resort apartment that I needed. Truly, it was the worst mistake I made all year. When I got there, my room had holes in the walls and there was literally a loose bathroom door knob. Plus, i never got the missing Fab key for my apartment for months until I moved out. On top of that, there were roaches all over the house. It was truly a horrifying experience. Also, the roommates I had were horrible and I would highly not recommend co-Ed apartments because you would likely have trashy roommates like I did. Also, THEY WILL OVERHCARGE YOU FOR UTILITIES WHEN YOU’RE MOVING OUT. I got charged $300+ when I was leaving which was very outrageous. It’s not okay at all since it’s not worth the dang price. Honestly, live here at your own risk because I won’t be back EVER!!
Keysha E — Google review
1 star solely bc of the HUGE skylight in the BEDROOMS of the 2/2, If you like sleeping past 7 am these apartment are not for you. Outside of the buildings also falling apart EDIT: this place is a lawsuit waiting to happen. Slippery algae covered stairs from ac runoff and lose steel utility covers in the ground can break your ankles at any given second
Oscore — Google review
I live here with my sister and I absolutely love this complex. The pool has such a nice setup, the study rooms are big and very peaceful and overall the units are nice and modern looking. I also really love the staff, Chandler is the best and I am glad that I moved here!!
Kiarra W — Google review
This apartment complex could use more visitors parking. It’s not fair how there’s so much free parking on the right side of the complex and a handful of visitors parking . Sparing that would save a lot of visiting family and friends during high visiting time .

Swimming pool
The Jack McLean Aquatics Center is a delightful oasis located in a lively area, perfect for swimmers of every age. With an affordable entry fee—just $4 for adults and $2 for children—it’s budget-friendly too! Open from May to September, this center becomes the ultimate destination to cool off and enjoy the summer sun. Whether you're looking to swim laps or splash around with family, this inviting facility has something for everyone during those hot days.
The Jack McLean Aquatics Center in Tallahassee is a fantastic and clean swimming pool! Coming from a hometown without such facilities, I was impressed. The pool is staffed with attentive young lifeguards who keep a close watch on the children, which I really appreciated. Although I was uncertain about the driving directions from Georgia, we found it without much trouble. One suggestion for improvement would be extending the hours, especially during the summer. The bathrooms were just okay—not particularly impressive—but the staff were ready to clean them as soon as we left. The facility offers plenty of chairs and umbrellas, as well as clear signage around the pool. I noticed a park outside the building, but I didn’t have a chance to explore it. ONE IMPORTANT NOTE: 🚨PLEASE HAVE YOUR CHILDREN TO USE GOGGLES! Very important, the pool has a lot chlorine! Overall, it’s a great spot for a fun and safe swimming experience! Especially children!
VICTORY R — Google review
I tried to go to water aerobics. There was no parking. I was there at least 45 minutes before the 12:00 pm class. I am so disappointed. I do believe I will be able to go to water aerobics at this pool. I am sorry will this review I did not realize at the time an event was happening. I hope everyone had a good time
Judith S — Google review
Here on a Saturday, really nice vibe. As a former lifeguard, the ones here are on their jobs and there are plenty which is a really peaceful plus for parents. Kids were well-behaved and parents were supervising! Everything was working. Nice experience as a new Tallahassee resident!
Nichole R — Google review
This was my first time taking my kiddos to the pool here, but they've been coming on a weekly field trip and have talked so much about how much they love it. I like that it's a little less hectic and a little smaller than some of the other pools because it's easier to keep an eye on them. Plenty of chairs and umbrellas. The lifeguards were so great with the kids! They did a great job watching everyone, but would also occasionally goof around with the kids and splash at them.
Kaycee S — Google review
My kids love it! The big lap pool was a blast, and felt wonderfully cold on a hot FL day. The kids had more fun here verses the other local splash park. They also have a very nice playground right next to the pools. Just wish the water didnt spray out so much and so hard on the little slide so my toddler could enjoy it more. Nevertheless, he still enjoyed sliding about 30 times in row lol. So glad tallahassee has water parks for the kids (and parents)♡ Most of the lifeguards are so nice and awesome. We love the lady with long curly blonde hair that we always see. She compliments my older son on how his swimming skills keep getting better, since this is his 1st yr learning to swim. We appreciate her and all the other amazing lifeguards.

Tennis court
Nestled in the heart of a vibrant community, Myers Park Tennis Courts offers a charming escape for tennis enthusiasts and casual players alike. Surrounded by lush greenery, this hidden gem provides an inviting atmosphere where locals come together to enjoy the game. While it may not have all the bells and whistles of larger facilities, its simplicity is what makes it so appealing.
In Tallahassee on biz, had our fur-baby with us. Went to this park to give him time to roam..sssooo glad we did! Absolutely Gorgeous!! From children's play eqpt to sculptures to beautiful landscaping, I loved everything about the place! Didn't have time to explore it all due to a rhunderstorm, but if we are back in TLH any time soon will certainly take a picnic lunch & spend more time there!
Ginger D — Google review
Cute and fun park with plenty to do for the kiddos BUT beware of the homeless folks that sleep behind the bathroom stalls. They tend to get a little rowdy with the kids around. Keep an eye out. There's also a small stream there that's pretty as well.
Terr E — Google review
I play tennis here once a week with a partner and when I'm on my own I hit against the wall. We always have room on the court to play and the place is pretty clean. Also, the courts are always clean and ready to be played on.
Anthony M — Google review
This is one of the older parks in Tallahassee, by it is well maintained. It features lighted tennis courts, a playground, a wooded walking/fitness trail with exercise stations along the way. Wade Wehunt pool is adjacent to the park and is a year round pool with heating and dome covering during the winter. Just down the road is Cascades Park which is also great for walking and has a playground and splash pad as well as being a special event venue.
Harriet O — Google review
The park is largely trees with grass, with some open grass areas. The primary attraction for me is the concrete walking/jogging path that meanders through the trees close to Myers Park Drive and connects up to Cascade Park with its own trails. You can complete the loop via the Lafayette St sidewalk, through the funky street level tunnel under the railroad. Parking is at the south end, near the tennis courts, or park at Chapman Pond which is steps away and well worth visiting.

Cute playground. Wish there were available bathrooms. Kids had a nice time for a minute

A beautiful little park next to the larger Cascades Park, with a medium size baseball field, half basketball court and 3 tennis courts, and tons of beautiful big trees. It's a really pleasant quaint little park!
Ben S — Google review
Pretty park, but the courts have two drawbacks. The sun sets directly into the eyes of players on one side of the courts; and that same side usually has a pretty good layer of pine needles and other tree debris.

9W Tennessee St

Mentioned on
1 list
W Tennessee St is a bustling thoroughfare in the heart of the city, intersecting with Monroe St. It's a major route, but can be slow-moving due to numerous traffic lights. Despite appearing as the most efficient option on maps, it often results in longer travel times due to congestion.

10N Meridian St

Mentioned on
1 list
N Meridian St has undergone significant improvements over the past four years, with officials making necessary additions such as a Smoky Hollow tribute while eliminating less essential elements like a grand entrance from South Monroe Street. The street's transformation also involved adjustments for both aesthetic appeal and cost considerations, such as opting for history panels on brick posts instead of an iron fence along Meridian Street.
