Ramen restaurant
Onomichi Ramen AKATSUKI is a casual eatery known for its traditional ramen bowls, crispy fried chicken, and flavorful rice dishes. The restaurant offers a relaxed dining experience with affordable prices and English menus available. Customers praise the deliciousness of the ramen, highlighting the well-balanced broth, perfectly cooked noodles, and savory cha shu.
This local ramen store served the most delicious ramen of my trip! The noodles were chewy and the broth was amazingly flavoursome with the lard and porky broth. In my opinion the normal flavour was better than the spicy ramen. The kaarage was also very good and price was on point. Highly recommend grabbing a bite to eat here if nearby. The wait was only 10-15 mins at 7pm on a Friday night.
Judy V — Google review
We ate our first onomichi ramen here and it was delicious! The place is small (2-3 small tables) and a bar for eating. The staff was really pleasant and accommodating. Good work guys!
Ria S — Google review
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Onomichi Ramen Akatsuki, near Hotel Vista Hiroshima, is a hidden gem. Even though I was hungover and not very hungry, I finished their special set with ease. Onomichi ramen features a soy sauce-based broth with pork back fat and flat, chewy noodles—so comforting! The special set came with their signature ramen, crispy karaage, and flavorful fried rice. Everything hit the spot. Friendly staff and cozy atmosphere. Highly recommended!
Rienk S — Google review
I ordered the set with the Onomichi ramen (asked for spicy) + karaage + half fried rice. While the fried rice and karaage were alright, the ramen was amazing. The heat and spice combined really well with the green onions and broth. The meat was also really good. Overall an excellent bowl of ramen.

Onomichi Ramen - must try dish in Hiroshima Soy sauce based with chicken broth Ramen. The ramen is flavorful. Best to pair with fried rice or fried chicken. The price is very affordable. I’d visit again. Be aware that the shop may close early once they sold out :)
Pimnara K — Google review
Looking for ramen and this place hit the spot and exceeded expectations. The ramen was full of flavour and melt in the mouth delicious! The accompanying rice, and fried chicken with the sake was all also bursting with flavour. A really homely feeling in a cosy setting with just a few tables and bar area. English menu with explanation on this type of ramen was also a nice touch. But it was not needed as everything just tasted fantastic! We will be coming back!
Hiten M — Google review
Excellent Ramen with a Soy based soup! The noodles were cooked just on point and the soup itself was so flavorful. I would definitely come back. The fried chicken was great too The basic portion was below 800 yen for just the ramen. We came on a Tuesday around 2.30 pm and there was no line.
Beatrice K — Google review
Food 10/10 Mind is blown. This is my new favorite ramen spot in the entire world. I had absolutely no expectations so I walked out of the restaurant completely changed. The ramen comes in a light soy sauce based soup that is clear and made with some pork fat. The flavors were just so refreshing and clean, and the ramen had a lot of vegetables topped on it so it tasted super well-rounded too. The noodles were springy and had the perfect chew, which really spoke to me. Also literally adding all those vegetables and the final price was only 980 yen. Actually shocked. Such good value. I slurped that soup straight up. Left the restaurant 1000% satisfied. Atmosphere 10/10 A very quaint and cozy little ramen shop. The entrance was very small and down an alleyway. We sat by the counter, where each individual seat was separated by a divider to ensure privacy. Service 10/10 The ramen was served quite expediently.

Anagomeshi Ueno is a renowned restaurant that has been perfecting the art of anagomeshi, grilled eel over rice, for over 120 years. Located near the Miyajima Island ferry terminal, this legendary establishment infuses the simple but robust flavors of eel and soy-based sauce into the rice to create a delectable dish.
Great experience and high quality anago, they prepare it fresh on the grill. I can definitely recommend this place! Large size is great if you are hungry :) The restaurant is a bit hidden in a corner of the shopping mall’s basement.
Bobby X — Google review
It’s a little shop in the basement of the Mitsukoshi Department Store, so it’s a bit hard to find, but it’s worth it. The anago was excellent and definitely worth trying if you’re in Hiroshima. The service was quick and courteous, too.
Sean D — Google review
Quite expensive but definitely worth it for the experience. One of my favourite kinds of food in Japan and all the staff were so professional and polite. Unlimited green tea as well is definitely an added bonus. It’s around ¥2500-¥3200 for each eel dish. You can get it in small medium or large but we just went for small to save what money we could. Definitely worth it to try the food though!
William B — Google review
I liked it! There are different portion sizes that you can choose and they only serve anago! It is in the bottom floor of the shopping mall and the service is quite fast if you don’t go peak time! Overall was good and worths it!
George S — Google review
Can't speak about the quality of the dine-in experience but I got a bento takeaway and honestly, it wasn't that good. The eel was dried out. Maybe it would've been better served fresh.
Gaurav B — Google review
Located on B1 floor of Mitsukoshi. 10 bar seat restaurant which you’ll probably have to line up for but worth the wait & it moves quick enough. Set menus - everyone was ordering the ¥2,800 one & it was great
P G — Google review
Such a lovely experience dining here! The way the eel was cooked was so tasty and the rice was definitely high quality. The staff were all so friendly and went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience despite our language barrier. Would recommend!

Ramen restaurant
When you find yourself in Hiroshima, make sure to indulge in the delightful experience of Hiroshima Tsukemen. This local specialty features cold Chinese noodles served with a tantalizing dipping sauce that packs a spicy punch. The sauce, rich with chili oil and sesame seeds, is perfect for those who crave bold flavors. Accompanying the dish are fresh toppings like spring onions, cabbage, and your choice of extras such as tender chashu pork or a perfectly boiled egg.
(Translated by Google) I had the tsukemen It was hearty and had the classic toppings, making it beautiful The dipping sauce was rich and the broth was well-seasoned, and the noodles were firm and chewy The texture and flavor of the vegetables were also good and delicious The staff were very friendly and the restaurant was clean, so I enjoyed the delicious tsukemen (Original)
Google review
(Translated by Google) Although I don't like spicy food, I crave Hiroshima tsukemen at least once a year. This time, I went to "Kami" because I was curious about the fact that the chef's reputation was good and the proprietress's reputation was extremely bad. I waited about 10 minutes before entering the restaurant. I waited about 10 minutes after ordering before the bowl arrived. (Large portion 1,180 yen) On top of the noodles were a lot of vegetables (cabbage, green onions, cucumber, radish sprouts, red knotweed) and roast pork. First, I had the noodles and dipping sauce without any condiments. Thanks to the mild spiciness, I had no objection to it. The noodles were delicious. You could also taste the broth. Even when eaten with vegetables, the texture and flavor of the cabbage, the texture of the green onions and cucumbers, and the spiciness of the radish sprouts were harmoniously balanced to make it delicious. After the first bite of the dipping sauce, I had a feeling that it would become bland towards the end, but strangely enough, it was delicious until the end. I think this is because the broth is well-brewed and the water is carefully drained. Kami was the first tsukemen restaurant where I felt like diluting the dipping sauce with some broth and drinking it as a final dish. There were plenty of vegetables, and the price was great. It's been a while since I had tsukemen. I was very satisfied. There was no problem with the hostess' service. She certainly didn't smile, but she greeted everyone equally. The service was just right. I was expecting the kind of hostess from an okonomiyaki restaurant featured on TV (famous for being extremely sweet to a certain high school student) or the mother of a steakhouse named after a flower, so I was disappointed. It was very delicious.

(Translated by Google) August 2025 I was craving cold dishes, so I visited for the first time in a while. What I had that day was... Tsukemen Medium (1.5 bowls) ¥1,070 Although not specified on the menu, the spiciness level is set to "mild," "normal," or "spicy." Since I remembered it being quite spicy when I had it before, I chose normal this time. This cold dish is perfect for the hot summer, and the default portion is ample, which is nice. The sauce is seafood-based. It's not too sour, but it's still quite spicy. The noodles are medium-thin, with a firm texture that's delicious even without the sauce. However, since the water content is a bit low, the firmness fades if you eat it slowly. The spiciness of the sauce also fades as the chili oil runs out, but this is restored by adding more chili sauce from the table. The water drains well, and the flavor of the sauce doesn't dilute, remaining strong until the very end. To avoid getting bored of the flavor, I ordered an additional ¥150 rice ball (plum). The freshly rolled, piping hot plums were a delicious match for the tsukemen. This place has been in business for over 10 years? The restaurant mainly has counter seating, but it's kept very clean. There's also parking for two cars nearby. Thank you for the meal.
Google review
(Translated by Google) I visited on a Saturday lunchtime. The parking lot in front of the restaurant was full, so I parked in the lot just behind it (just past the restaurant and turn left at the traffic light). The restaurant was almost full, but luckily there was one table available, so I was able to sit down without waiting. Soon after, a steady stream of customers and people coming in to pick up takeout orders showed how popular the restaurant is. I ordered a medium-spicy bowl of tsukemen (1.5 servings), topped with green onions and char siu, and it arrived in less than 10 minutes. - The presentation was beautiful and appetizing. (The water chestnuts on top reminded me of Shinkaen.) - The vegetables were well-drained and not soggy (but still fresh), so the marinade was retained until the very end, making for a delicious dish. - The marinade had a stronger fishy flavor than Hiroshima tsukemen, with a mild acidity. But it's an addictive taste. - You can adjust the spiciness with the condiments on the table, but even the "spicy" setting is quite strong. *Hiroshima tsukemen vary greatly in spiciness depending on the restaurant, but to my taste, it's about 30 to 40 times spicier than Bakudan-ya's... - The noodles are chewy and go perfectly with the vegetables and dipping sauce. I thought 1.5 bowls was a bit much, but I finished it in no time. Personally, I would have liked more sesame seeds and vinegar, but that's just personal preference, and it was delicious even without them. I'll definitely come again!!
SO M — Google review
(Translated by Google) This is just my opinion, coming from my love of tsukemen, but it was just averagely delicious. The dipping sauce lacked depth, and I felt that the flavor was thin and bland from the middle to the end, which is what I think is tsukemen's biggest issue. The beginning of the meal was very delicious, so I think it would be even better if they could add something to it along the way. (You can add spicy sauce as much as you like.) That said, it's a popular restaurant with a lot of customers, so I think there will be a fight for parking. The taste and value for money aren't as good as other restaurants, but there is a dedicated parking lot and the owner was very kind and thanked each customer individually, which I liked.

If you're looking for a unique ramen experience, Seiten-wo-tsuke Beef Tongue Ramen is the place to go. Despite its somewhat imposing exterior, the interior is cozy and welcoming, with a friendly owner. The English menu makes it easy for foreigners to order from the vending machine. This place specializes in cow tongue meat, offering a variety of options. While slightly pricey, the delicious ramen with different types of meat makes it worth every penny.
This was the best ramen I have ever had. And I am not joking. I have had some of the best ramens Japan had to offer. I am a ramen mania and I have had ramens from ramenyas all across Japan. From some of the best Hakata donkotsu ramens in Fukuoka to some Michelin-awarded ramenyas in Tokyo, I had so many good ramens that made me manpuku and manjoku. However, this ramen was another level. In Asia, we call a dish like this '山海珍味'. It means it is a delicious delicacy made out of ingredients from both mountain (earth) and sea. Their specialty ramen utilizes wagyu and kaki (oyster). Both of these great ingredients from Hiroshima make Umami flavours explode as they infuse in such a harmonious way in a ramen soup. As they suggest, you will also experience how the flavour transform in a magical way when you add some Szechuan pepper. The soup was so delicious that I had to order a bowl of rice (I usually do not do this) to finish the dish clean. Moreover, both the chef and server's service and hospitality were excellent. I felt so welcome not just as a customer but as a foreign guest. Once you dine here, you will find a reason why their restaurant's wall is adorned with so many autographs and messages. This restaurant excellently represents the greatness of not only Hiroshima but Japan.

Small and cozy environment. Staff is really friendly and takes the time to get to know the customers. The machine doesn't take the new yen but they have extras of the old to do a one for one swap. Food is delicious has none pork options for those with dietary restrictions. Definitely should try

During our trip to Hiroshima, we found this small ramen restaurant, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our stay! 🍜 The ramen was absolutely delicious — rich and flavorful broth, perfectly cooked noodles, and super fresh ingredients. You can really taste the care and passion that go into every bowl. We tried a few different kinds, and each one had its own unique and perfectly balanced flavor. But what truly made the experience special were the owners — incredibly kind and welcoming people who made us feel right at home. They even chatted with us for a while and shared a bit of their story. At the end, they gave us some stickers as a gift, which was such a sweet and thoughtful gesture! A cozy, authentic place with amazing food and warm-hearted hosts. If you ever visit Hiroshima and love ramen, don’t miss this spot! ❤️

Overall, it was a okay ramen if you like oysters and salt ramen. The pork topping was decent but the roasted wagyu and egg were not particularly impressive (doesn’t have the same jammy consistency compared to other ramen shop eggs). Though note that the price is on the high side and seems mainly catered to tourists. Apart from the novelty of trying oyster ramen, it might not be a ramen shop I’d choose to visit again.

Very friendly people, excellent Ramen in a lot of combinations available. I took with Wagyu and Oysters and it was delicious - for me the best Ramen after two weeks in Japan! (my first visit to Japan at all). My wife took the vegetarian Ramen and was very happy with it. Highly recommended!!!

This little ramen shop was tucked away unassumingly near our hotel stay in Hiroshima and if you weren’t looking for somewhere to go eat you’d easily just walk past it. I’m glad I didn’t because this bowl of ramen was insane between the slices of A5 Wagyu beef, the fresh Hiroshima oysters and the slightly firm noodles with that mesmerizing, sensational broth. The owners speak a bit of English too so if you’re sitting at the main counter you can strike up some small talk with them!
Victor L — Google review
Definitely not a high end atmosphere but it's a very low-key easily accessible if you're looking for some delicious beef and oyster ramen. By default the Hiroshima oysters and Wagyu salt ramen for 2000 yen doesn't come with whole oysters although the chopped up oysters are great with a ton of flavor. The beef doesn't seem high end and is prepared/sliced ahead of time although it's good quality. Everything is CASH ONLY via a vending machine so be prepared. Ramen Youki Hiroshima is a longstanding ramen restaurant with four locations in Hiroshima. The authentic chuka-soba (ramen with buckwheat noodles) broth is delicious and the noodles are cooked to perfection. The pork chashu, scallions, and beansprouts add flavor and texture to the dish.
Small family run ramen spot specialising in Chuuka soba style. Tonkotsu and shoyu broth with firm thin noodles were delicious. Chashu tasted similar to Cantonese bbq but less sweet and not red. A bowl for ¥750 is the best deal I've had so far.

Hiroshima’s best local ramen you could have in Hiroshima! Youki Ramen is a family running business for over 60 years🍜 Definitely worth to stop by when you’re around Hiroshima station.

Chinese restaurant
Tsubame Ramen is a charming noodle shop nestled in Hiroshima, where the essence of traditional ramen comes alive through its classic chicken broth and soy sauce recipe. The restaurant's interior pays tribute to the Showa era, reflecting a significant period in Japanese history while also celebrating the local baseball team. Upon entering Tsubame, guests are greeted with a menu that features not only their signature Chinese noodles but also delightful oden and rice balls.
I came friday afternoon and there wasn't much traffic. The owner was very nice, though we couldn't communicate too well due to my Japanese being very basic, but we communicated in gestures. The ramen was very good! Firm thin noodles, delicious broth, green onions and pepper which you add yourself. The chashu was a bit dry though sadly but over all the meal was perfect nontheless! I paired it with 2 musubis which were sticky and tasty. Over all cost 1050 yen (750 for the ramen and 300 for the musubis, 150 each) which is pretty good worth. Over all very worth it if you're in the area.

Fun place. Super basic, looks more like a fast food spot but so fun: as a foreigner, you walk in and owner/chef says: ramen? Yes please, ramen and beer and that’s what he has. No frills, no questions. The broth is so comforting. Just wonderful, and the thin noodles perfectly firm. No egg, meat thinly sliced. As I said, no frills but authentic. Certainly no tourists (except for me, of course), but welcoming nonetheless.

Kiyochan is a cozy ramen shop located just outside a bustling shopping area. With seating for about 5 people, it can be easily missed, so keep an eye out for the red flags or decorations. The menu is simple and includes English translations for many items. The prices are reasonable, starting at 650 yen for a bowl of ramen. Customers recommend trying the Chinese dumpling ramen and the special ramen, both of which were quick and delicious.
Great hidden gem if you’re looking for Ramen and some amazing gyozas! This simple menu offers the perfected craft of ramen, good beer and great company. Seating only about 4-6 people it’s a true treat to watch this one man show in such a small space cook!

The classic ramen here is the best we’ve had in our 2 week stay in Japan. The flavours are well balanced and all freshly made in front of you. Delicious! The place is small, so can get busy but it’s worth the wait! Eat here. You won’t regret it. :)
Mattia G — Google review
Loved their ramen broth & pork! Only reason I didn’t give the place a perfect 5 is it could be cleaner — but food’s very much worth the visit. We arrived a little before 8PM and the tsukemen was already sold out. Would come back to try it next time. :)
Ruth C — Google review
Wanted to take the advice of all the other reviewers and the ramen master himself to get the basic bowl, but greed took over me and I took the special bowl. It was so divine and my only regret is not getting another bowl which would have been the basic bowl. This guy is a friggin machine! Customers beware that there’s a line for this establishment and cash is king here (unless you like paying 10% tax too)
Azeem A — Google review
This was probably the best ramen I’ve ever had, definitely the best on my 3-week trip to Japan. The broth had the right amount of richness and salt, the noodles were cooked to perfection and the topping were delicious. The chef is amazing, he almost dances while preparing the food.

I loved this place. This is what ramen is all about. The little fellow making a bowl of goodness from his heart. Ramen broth is simple tasting yet has an obvious complexity. Noodles although not homemade, on the tooth and of thin perfect size and flavour. Toppings were just what the doctor ordered in a cold day. Amazing that this bowl of heaven was blended and such a tiny kitchen. What a great experience.

Try their hot tsukemen and chicken karaage. Tsumen was perfect, taste really nice. Lots of peoples said about bad service, it's true for some of the servers.. They don't care at all about the guests

We had two types of cold dipping-sauce noodles - spicy soy and sesame (preferred the spicy soy). Both the sauces and the toppings are very customisable. I'd recommend adding extra toppings as the base (couple of pork slices and some veg) isn't quite enough.

Great dishes, good experience. Cold noodles with a soy sauce spicy dipping. Fried oysters and an onigiri set. All of this for only ¥1300-ish. The waiter is really nice and welcoming. I’d recommend!

We had really tastey Hiroshima Tsukemen here. The spicy dipping sauces were soo good. We had the level 15 and 10. Perfect lunch meal. We will definitely come here again.
Gl U — Google review
Quite delicious spicy tsukemen. We ordered spiciness of level 15 but it wasn't really spicy. The fried chicken were good too. When we first came on weekend lunch time and it was very busy. We returned on Monday dinner time and there were only us and another 2 people.
F P — Google review
It was alright, the much hyped tsumekemen is tasty, however the char siu's is quite underwhelming, it has the texture equivalent of a toilet paper. To me, the star of the show is the chicken karage (fried chicken), fried to perfection, well seasoned and not too oily.
Lip L — Google review
First time trying Hiroshima Tsukemen, and Bakudanya definitely delivered. You can choose from four different portions, small to mega for noodles. For the dipping sauce, select the spiciness level from 1-15. I wasn't brave enough and went with 5. It was DELICIOUS!

The best tempura I've had in Japan. The chefs were very welcoming. Unfortunately I cannot speak Japanese and they kindly explained everything in english for me. What a find! Checked into my Hostel late and was on a mission to get something to eat. Passed this place, looked closed, but they had a special musical event on. Owner said they don't have their normal Tex Mex menu but offered a Japanese Chicken Curry Dish instead. Very Tasty! Great, chill atmosphere and delightful music, can't imagine too many places like this in town.

Fantastic, fantastic, fantastic Tex-Mex restaurant in Hiroshima. After visiting the Hiroshima area, museum and park, we felt like having a late lunch and found Otis. The owner is an amazing sweet man and the woman who cooks the food is just as sweet. I ordered the Bean Tacos which were very tasty with the tortilla, lettuce, tomato, black beans, grated cheese and a light red chili sauce. The combination is perfect. A few others ordered the Quesadillas, one with pork the other with black beans. Both loved the flavors. Our son ordered the Taco Rice bowl and enjoyed the dish. Overall, great food and music while eating.
Jamie W — Google review
I was a little skeptical about trying a Tex-Mex restaurant in Japan, but it turned out to be a fun experience. From my perspective, the food was decent – I’ve had better Mexican dishes elsewhere – but it was still enjoyable. The real highlight here is the atmosphere. The place has a quirky, punk-inspired vibe, with a lot of character and a welcoming, laid-back feel. The staff was very friendly, and even the restroom adds to the “crazy” charm of the place. If you’re staying in Hiroshima for a longer time and want something different from Japanese cuisine, it’s definitely worth checking out.
Nikolas K — Google review
Otis has some good tex-mex for reasonable prices (we spent a lot because we wanted to try many different things). The enchiladas and the Chili were quite good, but the Mexican sausage soup was excellent, and probably would have been even better on a cold winter's day. The gentleman (owner?) was great, and even though it got busy after we arrived, the wait times weren't crazy. I will definitely return next time I'm visiting Hiroshima.
Benjamin H — Google review
Lovely little Tex-Mex restaurant which is all gluten-free. Really nice couple owns the place. Vegetarian options available. Portions are small but prices are very reasonable so you can order a variety for sharing. They also have live music on certain days.
Jay S — Google review
I was really looking forward to trying this “Mexican” restaurant, but unfortunately, it was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. According to locals, the founder and owner passed away in May, and since then, an elderly lady (at least 70 years old) has been running the kitchen alone. She politely warned us that she’s on her own and things might take a while — which we completely understood. However, the food was just terrible. We ordered chili con carne and tacos. The chili had strange chunks of unidentifiable meat instead of minced beef, mixed with melted cheese, a few beans, and even carrots. It came with a dry supermarket tortilla on the side. The tacos were equally disappointing — completely bland, with no flavor or texture. It’s honestly sad, but I strongly recommend avoiding this place. What used to be a restaurant with a story now feels like a sad imitation running on its last legs.
Jiří B — Google review
The staff are kind, mostly older people. Sadly, the original owner has passed away. The food we got was just terrible. The tacos were basically a bland vegetable salad stuffed into a dry tortilla, the chili con carne was awful, with meat that tasted more like tripe, and the soup was underseasoned and below average, yet still the best dish we had. A real shame.
Radim F — Google review
BLUF - 99% of the people who eat here - leave the restaurant feeling hungry (sometimes - hungrier than when they went in...unless they ordered 3 or 4 main dishes). I bet 50% of people who eat here - are google-mapping the location of the nearest 7/11 or LAWSON'S - so they can immediately go and buy some more food after they leave the restaurant. PROS: 1. They do have "vegan cheese". 2. The owner/manager and (his wife?) seem like very nice people. 3. Seems like they sometimes have a musician/singer who performs. 4. They do have "gluten-free" options...and it seems like these buzzwords get the attention of a lot of western tourists. The night when I had dinner there - in the restaurant at dinner time -there were 2 x American groups and 1 x New Zealand couple. I sincerely doubt if many/if any locals eat there. CONS: 1. Terribly small portions (Thank Sweet Baby Jesus - there are convenience stores located within a half-kilometer) 2. Very pricey (for what you get). 3. The menu is one only page (6 or 8 items, only half of which can be made vegetarian or vegan). I actually sat there at the table for 15 minutes waiting for the owner to bring me a menu - and when I asked him...he told me the food menu was written on the back of the drink menu. Save yourself the heartbreak and just grab some food at 7/11 and get a 80% discount on your dinner.

Very traditional and yummy. Noodles with vinegar taste even better! One tips for you who are new here, you need to put the cash in the machine first then you’ll be able to press the button.

A very nice and cozy restaurant. The staff was very friendly and helped us a lot. It is a bit difficult to decipher the ordering machine, but very worth it. You get served very fast and they show you how to eat it properly. The spice level normal or below is hot enough...

Our first experience of dan dan noodles in Japan. Ordering was via ticket machine with order being fulfilled quickly once handing the ticket to the chef. The dan dan noodles were delicious but the problem was it was all too fleeting. Perfect place as an "entree" kick off an evening of progressive eating though!

Instead of being served in soup, the noodles and toppings are accompanied by a concentrated dipping sauce on the side. The dipping sauce at this establishment is known for its hot and spicy flavor, which can be customized to your preferred level of heat.
Excellent! We went for Ramen (late) but they were sold out, so we had tsukemen instead, which was great! Helpful host came and showed us how to navigate the order screen. Service was quick and the food was great. Only had level 6 hotness and it was very manageable. Our son ordered the mega size ... and it was! Cold noodles on a warm muggy night - delish!

Different, but not bad. Cold noodles and cold dip with a wide range of "heat", spice wise. First experience with Tsukemen so no relative comparisons to other restaurants. Venue itself was easy to navigate, clean, and well serviced.
Robert S — Google review
Delicious tsukemen ramen. The noodles were well cooked with a good chew. The sauce is very tasty. We had it at spice level 13 and it was a good balance of some heat without overpowering the rest of the flavours. If you’re hungry get the large portion size. For English speakers, they have English physical menus available so you can use those to help navigate the ordering machine. Also nice that they provide bibs that are a must to avoid getting your shirt all dirty.
David J — Google review
Delicious spicy Tsukemen! I ordered 12 level spiciness - which was very spicy at the beginning but it mellowed out after a while. I think the spicy oil floats to the top. Friendly staff rushed out and helped me with ordering 🤭. Ordered regular size pork Tsukemen with bonito and seaweed and extra charsiu. Total was 1200 yen.

The Kuro-Uma Shoyu based ramen and the Aka-Uma rich tonkotsu ramen are highly recommended, each with its own unique flavor profile. The restaurant offers an English menu and the staff, while not fluent in English, are friendly and helpful.
This was hands down the best ramen I have had in my time in Japan. The tonkotsu broth was creamy and delicious, the cha shu was tender, and the assorted ingredients complemented the ramen well. The noodles also had a soft, springy texture that was very appetising. Each mouthful of ramen could also be modified by their red ginger, garlic, and other side dishes! The other dishes such as the cha han and dumplings were also delicious and power houses of their own. Definitely worth the visit if you are in the area! 11/10

Turns out to be a great choice as the food was quite good. Great service as well as the waitress approached us explaining if we needed help , she’s the only one who can speak English etc. Turns out not really needed as there was also an English menu . Pricing is also quite reasonable. Highly recommended.

My only grumble is that I always seem hungry when I leave, no matter how much I order. Small vegan and environmentally friendly product section. Amazing bread on sale from Oheso Cafe in Sera.

The majority of food from this restaurant is vegan! We got the meal set with the lentil hamburger patties, we were supposed to get the tempeh hamburger, but they must have gotten confused and we got the same patty again 😅 For dessert we got the vegan scone and raw chocolate as well as the vegan yoghurt. I quite liked the raw chocolates

If you find yourself near the ferry terminal, make sure to stop by Hiroshima Ramen Momiji Miyajima-guchi Shop for a delightful dining experience. This cozy eatery is conveniently located in a small building that resembles a mall, making it an easy choice after your adventures on Miyajima Island. The atmosphere is relaxed and clean, perfect for enjoying a quick meal.
Just came back to land from a ship ride from Miyajima. I was hungry, thus looked at google maps for dinner. I found this shop that is open even at about 5pm and within walking distance. It is located in small building that looked like a mall beside the ferry terminal, the place is quiet and has few people. I got the Ajitama Hiroshima Ramen from the self-service machine. It tasted good and the price was quite reasonable. It was pretty empty and quiet. There are outdoor seats that overlooks the tram station. But sadly it was raining on the day. Oh yea, the place has a review for freebie promotion in place, so the rating could be slightly inflated. Visited as a Tourist at 27 Mar 2025

I visited Hiroshima Ramen and was pleasantly surprised by the quality and flavor of the food. The broth was rich and savory, with a perfect balance of umami. The noodles had just the right texture—firm and chewy—and absorbed the soup beautifully. The toppings were fresh and generous, especially the tender slices of pork and the perfectly soft-boiled egg. The service was fast and polite, and the atmosphere was clean and casual, ideal for a quick but satisfying meal. Highly recommend if you’re in the area and craving authentic, delicious ramen! 🍥

Perfect environment! Very spacious and comfortable! Friendly staffs! Fried oysters is good! Ramen is just ok. Taste like chain store ramen. I am a ramen lover so am a bit picky in what is considered good ramen! Overall good place to eat after visiting Miyajima Island.

This place had the best ramen I have ever had and even two years later, I still crave it. I may be a little biased considering that during my Japan trip I wasn’t feeling well and that ramen really boosted my system! Yet, as someone who dabbles in various ramen restaurants, this restaurant was a quick and easy spot to rest for a bit and enjoy some delicious and soothing ramen! The staff that served us were exceptionally kind and helpful as well!

We had Hiroshima Ramen after spending the day on Miyajima. We did not have to wait for a table and got our delicious Ramen very fast. Can fully recommend!

Amazing oyster ramen. The broth was so rich and the oysters fatty and delicious. When you come up to the second floor it is a bit tempting to go to the okonomyaki place opposite because they have such a nice view of the harbour. But the ramen is really wonderful

Unique cold tsukemen, which has nice citrus taste. My friend tried the hiroshima ramen and gave it a thumbs up too. Located just in front of miyajima port. A must try.

This unique restaurant stands out in Japan's culinary scene as one of the few fully vegan and vegetarian options available. The menu boasts a delightful array of flavorful dishes that are sure to tantalize your taste buds, even if you're not strictly vegan. Diners rave about the quality and variety, with many expressing their desire to try everything on offer after just one visit!
This is a safe spot for vegans in Hiroshima. It was right behind our hotel. The menu is full of options, most of them vegan, the others vegetarian. We came here 2 consecutive nights and got to try several dishes. Food tasted like original. I loved the deep fried tofu with veggies accompanied by a rice bowl. It was delicious. Cabbage and pork was great too, but in general everything we tried tasted really good. Highly recommended🌱

Incredible! One of the rare fully vegan/vegetarian oriental restaurants in Japan—and it was amazing! The food was full of flavour, great quality, and there are many tasty options available! I had seven dishes and still wanted more. The service was excellent—quick, warm, and everything was prepared to perfection. The place has a lovely, homely feel. Genuinely grateful to have experienced such amazing cooking. A must-visit for all vegans and vegetarians in Hiroshima and Japan!

The best food we have had in Japan so far!!! Highly recommend for vegans/ vegetarians/ foodies in general in Hiroshima! Food is well priced, well portioned and deliciously good! We tried the deep fried tofu in sweet and sour sauce (highly recommend - amazing!), stir fried pork and veggies, and the chinese duck. All so good! Menu is also in English and service is incredibly friendly.

We were incredibly happy with our food here. We had the vegan lamb sticks, karaage, and vegan sweet-sour pork, and everything was delicious. The service was also very nice and quick. If you’re vegetarian or vegan, you should definitely visit this place when you’re in Hiroshima.

This was some of the best vegetarian food we’ve had in Japan! The fried eggplant and potato dish is amazing, it melts in your mouth. The vegetable buns are very fluffy. So many options on the menu that we didn’t even get to try. The portions are quite generous and we sadly ended up ordering too much, but we wish we could come back here for more!

Normally, it can be a challenge to find good vegetarian Chinese food, but oh boy do you need to go here! They serve amazing vegetarian dishes, for a very reasonable price! Watch out if you order the donburi, because they will give you a lot! We ordered two donburi’s, xiaolongbao, fried veggies and a bowl of wonton soup, and we were very full afterwards! Highly recommend the mapo tofu donburi! Next time I’m in Hiroshima, I will most definitely come back!

Delicious and affordable vegan food! Vegan Mapo tofu! Spicy options and lots of fresh veggies! Try the set meals for a variety of delicious options! Will return tomorrow to try more of the menu! Rice portions in the set are healthy and you can get feee refills

We found this place looking for some vegan options in Hiroshima. The food is absolutely fantastic, probably the best vegan Chinese we’ve ever had! There’s so much choice you can easily go more than once and eat different things each time. We’ve ordered different things to try and share and everything was so delicious! The staff is also super nice and helpful. Highly recommended!!

Dan Dan noodle restaurant
Musashibo Honten is a popular restaurant chain with five locations across Hiroshima, specializing in soup-less tantanmen, a spicy noodle dish. The original shop is situated in Naka Ward. Their tantanmen is inspired by the Sichuan dish but has a Japanese twist with added soy sauce and other local ingredients. Customers appreciate the helpful staff and the unique experience of ordering from a vending machine.
Famous for spicy dry noodles but we are not good with spicy food hence got non spicy ones. Additional peppers available for your liking. Still a very good bowl of noodles so I definitely recommend it. Staff can understand english, polite and very welcoming. English menu available.

Just get level 1 spicy, just trust me, these guys aren’t messing around here. I was happy with my choice of sesame and garlic. And adding the vinegar was the biggest surprise, it changes the dish in a wonderful way and even helps with the spiciness.
DaChang — Google review
Amazing tan tan noodles here. Super tasty and absolutely worth seeking out. The spicy was actually spicy - worth every drop of sweat. So so good. Just go!
Cameron C — Google review
Very kind people, for anyone going here - if it's your first time take the recommended 1-4 spice level. We as indians thought that very spicy will be manageable. But, the sechuan spice is very different and makes your tongue go numb. The noodles themselves was very enjoyable.
Bhoomika P — Google review
Very good, very tasty, very quick, good service, and spicy (in a good way! 🌶️) They also have menus in English. I took the sesame-garlic, it was very good.
Raz A — Google review
We came here ready to enjoy our meal and are used to using ordering machines in Japan. We asked for clarification on the set menu, but the staff member helping us couldn’t speak English well enough to explain, which is completely fine. However, when we tried to pay, the machine kept rejecting our bill, and we were confused. A kind nearby customer let us know the machine only accepts old bills, and we needed to exchange it at the counter. It would have been helpful if the staff had told us this, especially since another worker with good English came up later to ask for our spice level preference. It felt strange that he saw us struggling but didn’t step in sooner. The most disappointing part was when we sat down and saw the staff visibly laughing at us. This felt extremely unprofessional and left a sour taste before we even received our food. We understand language barriers happen, but customer service and respect should still be consistent, especially in front of guests.

Great little Ramen restaurant. The food was tasty and the servings generous. The staff help us order and gave us great advice around the spiciness of the food. The beers were very cold and there was a wide choice. Recommended.

If you're on the hunt for a culinary gem in Hiroshima, look no further than Que. This delightful eatery specializes in okonomiyaki, a savory Japanese pancake that’s sure to tantalize your taste buds. Located near Nagarekawa, it often draws crowds eager to savor its offerings. Diners rave about the B Special's soba balls, which can be customized with udon and cheese for an extra indulgence. The portions are generous and incredibly satisfying!
(Translated by Google) This is an okonomiyaki restaurant frequented by Yuki Yanagida. Inside the restaurant, there are plenty of Yanagida's gloves, photos, and autographs. It seems like other baseball players also frequent the restaurant, as there were plenty of autographs. It's irresistible for baseball fans. The main dish, the okonomiyaki, is of course delicious, with a flavor unique to Hiroshima. You can choose to have it served on a plate or on a hot plate, but I chose the hot plate, which kept it piping hot until the very end, and the portion was amazing. It's a bit of a walk from the station, but it's in a quiet, safe neighborhood. There's also parking available. If you order takeout, they also give you a bottle of juice, which is a nice service. But something unfortunate happened the other day. I ordered takoyaki for the first time (takeout), and the octopus was surprisingly small. I ordered chili oil mayo octopus and large octopus. The chili oil mayo octopus is smaller, so I thought the octopus would be smaller, but even the large octopus was extremely small. Even though it was takoyaki, it hardly felt like I was eating octopus. I don't know if it was just a coincidence this time, or if it's always about this size, but it was very disappointing. I might not order takoyaki again. But the okonomiyaki is delicious, so I'll go again. The photo shows a large octopus.
