Dutch restaurant
Moeders, which means "mothers" in Dutch, is a charming restaurant in Amsterdam that offers a unique dining experience. The establishment is adorned with photos of mothers and antiques, creating a quirky and cozy atmosphere. While it may not be the most budget-friendly option, Moeders provides great value for money with generous portion sizes and authentic home-cooked Dutch cuisine.
Make reservations early. Small place and seems to always be full. Great food and good service. Spare ribs were on point and my wife had the salmon. She said it was done perfectly. Apple pie is delightful too
Blake T — Google review
A very popular spot in Amsterdam. They have a nice original system where you sit outside and can order snacks and drinks whilst you wait for a table to order from menu. Located on the outer Amsterdam you avoid all the hassling. The restaurant has a lovely theme of 1000s of framed photos of mothers and children. A lovely atmosphere. Food was good, service great and food nice. Price as expected. Worth a visit.

Moeders is a very famous restaurant in Amsterdam — it’s one of the go-to spots for traditional Dutch food. If you want to experience authentic Dutch home-style dishes, this is definitely the place to try. Be sure to make a reservation, as it’s popular with both locals and tourists and fills up quickly. We tried the pea soup, ribs, and beef stew — all were decent. The white asparagus soup, however, had a sour asparagus flavor that I couldn’t quite figure out. Overall, Moeders serves comforting, home-style food rather than refined Western cuisine, so if you’re looking for something fancy, this might not be it. The dishes and bowls also look quite well-used — you can really feel the restaurant’s history 😂.

If I could, I’d give 10/5! An amazing concept restaurant with delicious Dutch cuisine. You should definitely try the “Dutch rice dish” the portion is generous, and the beef with its sauce… I don’t even have enough words to describe it, you just have to try it! I came to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday, and the staff were so warm and welcoming. They offered us a dessert and a shot of Dutch liquor while singing Happy Birthday. We’re so glad we chose Moeders for this special day ❤️ Thank you for everything ❤️your kindness, your warm welcome, and above all, your DELICIOUS cuisine!
Yağmur A — Google review
I actually don’t know how to rate it, I know it’s more traditional Dutch food, which means I should know what I’m getting. But still, I have to say the quality of the dishes are not the best. The “lobster” soup was very very salty (I use “” because it’s shrimp). And the vegetarian Stampot was alright, but it’s nearly first time for me to not to finish my plate, not because of the portion, just pretty… boring. Anyway, we were there to see the interior and just to experience, so I guess food is less the point. Right, the slot for reservation is 1.5h, but because the main course was served very late, we didn’t have time for desert.
Xijia L — Google review
Service was incredibly great, people are really friendly, pleasantries and jokes were exchanged between us and the staff. Food was amazing too, highly recommended the lobster soup and bitterballen!!! We also ordered the Rijstafel but given that my friend and I were both not big eaters, we couldn’t finish it at all. Love the meat stew in the Rijstafel set and also the grilled potatoes were yummy. Highly recommended this place :)
SP G — Google review
The ambiance and location of the restaurant is so good. We ordered 5 Dutch Ricedishes. I think there was a lot of variety of potato in it so it was not so fantastic, you need to be aware of it. Tastes of the meaty foods were so great. We went there without reservation but in the crowded days it might be problem.
Furkan S — Google review
Moeder’s is the definition of a true Dutch dining experience… cozy, warm, and full of character. We decided to let the staff choose our dishes, and honestly, they nailed it. We started with the green pea soup, which was way better than I expected. It was hearty, savory, and had this subtle smoky flavor that made it feel like comfort in a bowl. For the main course, we got the Hollandse Rijsttafel (Dutch rice dish), which came with all the traditional classics. The portions were generous, easily enough for two people. The meat was incredibly tender and flavorful, the potatoes perfectly cooked, and surprisingly, the applesauce stole the show for me. It wasn’t overly sweet and somehow tied all the other flavors together perfectly. The atmosphere is charming and intimate, with tables placed close enough that it almost feels like a big family gathering in the best way. If you’re looking for a spot to experience authentic Dutch comfort food, Moeder’s is absolutely worth it.

Dutch restaurant
Nestled near Leidseplein, De Blauwe Hollander is a charming traditional Dutch restaurant that has been delighting locals and visitors alike for over 30 years. Known for its hearty meals, this eatery serves up comforting dishes like snert, which comes with a generous slice of bacon and dense Frisian rye bread—perfect for warming you up on chilly days.
Attended for Sunday evening dinner here at De Blauwe Hollander after looking for authentic Dutch cuisine and we were very happy with our choice. Firstly I must thank our Spanish waiter (Sorry I did not get his name) but he was brilliant. Very inviting, friendly and polite. He was always ready to attend to our needs. The setting is cosy and great for a couple looking for a nice meal together. The restaurant is quite popular so you may need to book in advance or if its just a few of you then you could turn up on the off chance of finding a free table. The food was brilliant. We both enjoyed our starters and mains. I had the tomato soup and had a great homely taste, nice kick with the pepper also. For the main I had the steak and gravy which I enjoyed very much. We would have gone for a dessert, but we were both too full at this point. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for homely Dutch meal. Our time here was memorable and we both left very happy. Thank you for the amazing food and memories. One day we shall return!

Nice dutch food! We had the carrot 🥕 and endive stamppot and both were very nice- but different. If you like tender meat, get the carrot one. As starter we had bitterballs and those were also super, reminded me of Spanish croquettes. Dessert was disappointing. The Vlaflip could have had more fruit. It literally had 1 piece of strawberry. My friend got ice cream with strawberries - which that was fine but nothing too interest. Strong point- get the savoury stuff! Recommended.

Small cozy resto that serves great Dutch food. We came in with no expectation but the food turned out great, very friendly staff as well. The tomato soup was my personal favorite though, I finished it clean and clear 😅 Recommend to make reservation in advance especially during peak hours

A little crowded place but very nice and cosy. Food was good and honest. It was nice to find vegetarian option for traditional dishes. Staff was super nice :)

A very charming place with excellent service! We were lucky to get the last available table. The food was absolutely delicious and well-prepared. The waiter was incredibly friendly and welcoming. I’d definitely come back next time I’m in the area. Highly recommended if you’re looking for authentic Dutch cuisine and a nice atmosphere! But it's better if you reserve a table! Haha
A — Google review
It was okay overall. For being in the city center, in such a touristy area, the food they had was actually pretty good. The interior is nice, but quite dark. The service is standard — the waiters aren’t the most skilled at what they do, and they could definitely put in a bit more effort.
M N — Google review
Great place to get traditional Dutch food! We stumbled on this place in a happy accident! I usually plan my restaurants while traveling ahead, but I had wanted to try Dutch food this day, so we found it via google and happened to be right down the street. It has a quiet and dark exterior which creates a relaxing almost homey atmosphere. For drinks we I had a glass of wine and my husband had a beer. We ordered the Stampot with sausage and the Herring to split. The service was polite and efficient and they were very cognizant and accommodating for my nut allergy. Even with a large party of 10 the service was still quick and the food quality was great! This would be a smart pick if you are traveling and want a traditional Dutch meal experience without touristy prices or crowds.
Rachel W — Google review
My wife and I were looking for some authentic Dutch cuisine and were recommended this restaurant. It was fantastic. We arrived without a booking at 5pm on a Tuesday on early March. We were given a table no problem. We both chose stomppots. My wife one with smoked sausage and sauerkraut through the mashed potatoes. Mines was with a gigantic meatball (the biggest I've ever seen) and fries bacon bits. Both were delicious, my wife in particular was in food heaven. I wasn't quite there but the dish was really good. If you want dutch cuisine this is a place you should checkout. Not the cheapest, but then again nothing is cheap in this city. Highly recommended.

Fou Fow Ramen has become a prominent part of Amsterdam's dining scene, with two locations on Elandsgracht and Van Woustraat. The restaurant offers a variety of delicious ramen dishes, including options for carnivores like the creamy pork bone Tonkotsu and the spicy Tan Tan Men. Vegetarians can also indulge in flavorful options made with kelp and dried shiitake.
Probably my favorite place to eat in Amsterdam for the last year and a half. All ramens are great, size large is amazing, I get a proper meal! People working there and kind and warm and atmosphere is always good and cozy, as many people are enjoying themselves!
Milan V — Google review
We went there really spontaneous for dinner and were happy that they still had a table for us. The restaurant is really cute and it has nice seating space outside (many people walk through it, a bit annoying). The menu offered many vegan options which was really nice! The ramen were okay but nothing special (the noodles were fine but the tofu didnt taste really fresh). All in all it was quiet okay and the prices were reasonable.
Zoe W — Google review
Small place for a quick ramen, there seems to be always queue but goes quite fast. Plenty of vegan option, gyoza were great! Ramen was tasty, will go again to try the non spicy version
Annalisa F — Google review
The vegetarian ramen was very tasty, though not the best I've tried in Amsterdam. Price-wise I was happy to see that there are more affordable options in the menu. The service was lovely, no comment on that. Overall certainly recommend coming here if you're in the area craving good ramen.
Diana H — Google review
It’s nothing super special, I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it to my friends and definitely not wait hours in a que for it. The ramen, chicken, and broth were good, but I felt like the toppings were quite blank. It could’ve used some spring onion or some more veggies in general. I really enjoyed the side dish miso glazed eggplant though, however for 8,50 the portion was super small. The girl serving us was not smiling or friendly. Just did her job. So yeah, if you really want a quick and easy ramen it’s allright, but don’t expect fireworks ;)
Lieve — Google review
Delicious ramen, quick and friendly service. Good for 1-2 maybe 4 people but no more. Located on a busy corner, easy to get to from public transport. Open kitchen concept, €18 for the large ramen.
Carlos L — Google review
My friends and I were making our way to another ramen place (but realized it was closed that day) when we stumbled upon this gem. We were a table of three—two of which are vegetarian. They had great vegan/vegetarian options. Will order the lemon ginger ramen next time. 5 stars!
Marc G — Google review
Me and my partner had food here a while ago and though it was good we felt very sick shortly after. I believe there would have been something wrong with the started dish that we shared as we both felt like we got food poisoning afterwards. It is a shame that this happened but I don’t think it was handled well by the restaurant managers sadly. Over the phone we were told to send a dm or write an email, and even though I did both I never got a response. This makes me feel like we were not taken serious, and though we were told over the phone we would get a refund for the meal this never happened. Definitely a shame as this was a cute spot!

Ramen restaurant
Ramen Fujitora, located on Albert Cuypstraat in Amsterdam, offers a unique ramen dining experience. The menu boasts four distinct broth options including shoyu, shio, niboshi, and vegan. The niboshi ramen stands out with its seafood broth and dried sardine-based tare, accompanied by thinner noodles. Chef Tadashi brings over 16 years of experience to this authentic ramen spot that resembles classic Japanese ramen shops.
This is reminiscent of the ramen you'd get in Japan - simple flavors with high quality ingredients. I'd surmise that reviewers who disliked the broth were not expecting the difference between authentic Japanese vs. Westernized ramen. For me and my partner, it was a lovely lunch, especially ending with the refreshing matcha shaved ice. We'll be back!
Allysa D — Google review
Walked-in for a quick dinner, has limited seats so should book during busy hours. The interior is really cute and has nice Japanese vibe. They mainly have bar-top seating with one main big table in the centre. We tried the shoyu ramen and some kushiyaki at the side and matcha tiramisu for dessert. The food was nice and authentic but felt it lacked “excitement”. The service on the other hand was really good.
Carmen C — Google review
it was a very cute and quiet ambiance, the food was simple but delicious without too much fuss. The staff was lovely, so kind and very welcoming. I think the place is quite new but it was a wonderful experience. the match tiramisu was amazing and the portions were quite filling, I appreciate that a lot especially in Amsterdam where some restaurants give tiny portions.
Karolina L — Google review
Amazing new place to get ramen. The Shio ramen is absolutely stunning: the perfectly seasoned umami broth, the thinly sliced char siu (that melts in your mouth), the soft shrimp, perfectly cooked shoyu egg, the thin noodles…delicious! We had a matcha tiramisu as dessert, a bit heavy and a little less matcha than I hoped… but good for sharing. The matcha lemonade is lovely though, both the soda as the regular version is really nice. You can also get a variety of wines, sake or sodas, but I haven’t tried them All in all a great place to get ramen
Anna D — Google review
The ramen is amazing!!! It’s very authentic; it made me feel like I was in Japan. Both broths are perfect—light yet rich in flavor.
Ma K — Google review
I recently had lunch at this wonderful Ramen, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations. The Niboshi ramen had a delicious umami taste that left me craving more, while the siumai appetizer was a perfect start to the meal. The Niboshi Ramen is made from small sardines. Admittedly, it can be a bit fishy for some palates, but personally, I found it to be absolutely delightful. The unique flavor added depth to the dish, and I couldn't get enough of it. If you're open to trying something a little different and love great flavors, don't miss out on their Nabishi Ramen. We also tried the fried pork belly - crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and packed with flavor. They also have a special sauce to go with it. It is like eating Tonkatsu on a stick. To round off the meal, I decided to indulge in their matcha cheesecake for dessert. While it was undeniably delicious, I found myself wishing for a creamier texture. Nonetheless, the matcha flavor was spot on. I'll definitely be returning to explore more of their menu. I'm eager to discover what other culinary delights they have to offer.
Simon L — Google review
Recently opened (Apr 2024) Japanese ramen place with very authentic food and decent service. I think they probably have the most authentic shoyo soup base and roasted pork (cha shu) in Ams. The pork is so full for umami and thinly cut. So thin I couldn’t even pick it up with my chopsticks without breaking it. The niboshi (salted sardine) base could be too salty for some people’s taste. The starter plate was ok, not bad not super impressive. The xiu mai was underwhelming - flavor was too heavy, and the texture was broken. The cream in the matcha tiramisu was amazing. Service was not super fast and pretty pricey. But def worth the wait and the price (for ramen).
Lei F — Google review
Amazing authentic ramen with clear broth! I took the shoyu with Char-siu, and for dessert the Matcha tiramisu 💚 I definitely recommend it! At 7pm it was empty but it got quite busy from 7:30 so better to go a bit early!

The Pantry is a cozy restaurant that offers a quintessentially Dutch dining experience. The interior resembles a traditional Dutch home, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The menu features hearty and comforting dishes such as stamppot and hutspot, which are traditional mashed vegetable dishes served with smoked sausage or meatballs. The portions are generous, and the focus is on traditional Dutch cuisine.
The Pantry was such a good eating experience! It was my first time trying Dutch food. I ordered the Menu 2 that included the goat cheese croquettes, the oven dish with cauliflower, ground beef, lots of old Amsterdam cheese and mashed potatoes and poffertjes that are like mini pancakes (my favorite). The service was amazing, and even though we had a +40 min wait to go inside the turnover was pretty fast so we just had to wait for like 30 min. The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere to eat and I’m not surprised it was full throughout the whole time we were there.
Carla C — Google review
Service was friendly. Make sure you make reservations because walk in queue will have an hour wait. We ordered the set meal and happy that they have variety of sets. Generally, we enjoyed the meal. But the fish did not do for me. I find it too bland. The fish was cooked perfectly though. Desserts was good.
Sheue N — Google review
Main oven was down when we visited and they were serving appetizers and small plates of some of the main dishes - which was perfect for us as we could then sample more dishes with smaller portions. Mashed potatoes with sauerkrauts, mashed potatoes with carrots and onions, beef croquettes, beef stew, meatball and smoked sausage. Food was amazing, flavorful and well balanced. So good And to top off, service was excellent! Definitely worth another visit!
Grace C — Google review
Warm & friendly service; a beautifully designed, cozy atmosphere, and most of all, delicious Dutch dishes. The vegetarian bitterballen was excellent - crispy on the outside without being oily, with great texture & flavour on the inside. Also really enjoyed the combination mashed potatoes to try the different flavours (kale, carrot, & cauliflower) that were each unique. Bonus that everything was extremely reasonably priced. Very highly recommend for the loveliest experience of traditional Dutch cuisine & hospitality!

Great place to try dutch food: the staff are very friendly, it’s well located, and the decor is very characteristic. Although I didn’t love the food (it’s not my personal taste), it was great to try!! My favorite dish was the pea soup. It’s small and there are a lot of people, we waited a bit, but nothing serious 😁
Margarida L — Google review
We loved the Dutch food, the atmosphere and the service. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. They have set menus, very good value. They offer vegetarian version for some of the menus. It is advisable to book in advance as it is really busy.

Great way to try a range of traditional dishes in one sitting! Staff are super friendly. Went in a weekday at lunch and queues were minimal. Prices are very reasonable with the set menus. Highly recommended.

I was here 8 years ago and it tasted as good as i remember. I did not see much worn stuff so they do their maintenance. Bonus points for saving my umbrella. I left it at my seat and was able to retrieve it later that day. TY!

The worst ramen ever. I don't know why it got many good reviews ???? One bite and I almost threw up!!! I ordered kimchi ramen whose taste is aweful and the chicken charsiu is not charsiu, it's simply plain slice of boiled chicken. The smell is disgusting.

Really nice place, walked in and was seated straight away. Really nice ramen, good size portion and decent pricing. Staff were friendly.

We went to Ramen-Ya as a big group and the experience was great. The food was delicious and very quickly. It was the first time in my life that I actually enjoyed pork meat and I can recommend Hakata Deluxe Shoyu. The employees were very kind and helpful. I will definitely come back! Thank you 🤍

Located in the heart of Amsterdam's Nine Streets, Restaurant 't Zwaantje has been a beloved fixture for nearly 50 years. The cozy space is adorned with vintage cooking utensils and posters, exuding a charming Dutch ambiance. It's a favorite among locals and has welcomed famous Dutch regulars as well as international visitors like Prince and members of David Bowie's band.
Love this restaurant very much! Lovely staff who always there to help and smile to customers regarding the situation. Delicious Dutch dishes and authentic taste and they make us feel warm with their friendly service. It leaves us some great memories and fantastic dutch dining experience.

What an amazing restaurant to try traditional Dutch food! Our table wasn’t ready at the time of our reservation because the place was very busy, but the staff was so nice and attentive that we didn’t really care (it was only a 15-minute wait). We started with a delicious pea soup, creamy and warm. I also wanted something typically Dutch and went for Grandma’s Beef Stew -it didn’t disappoint. The beef was so tender it melted in my mouth, the vegetables were fresh and tasty, and the cabbage salad had a great seasoning that stood out. For dessert, I had a refreshing pudding, the perfect way to end the meal. The atmosphere is cozy, the staff is super friendly, and the whole experience makes you feel like you’re eating at your grandma’s place. Totally recommend this restaurant!

Experience beyond expectations! Very good food! Our beef stew (we came specifically for that) was very nicely cooked, with a rich mash-and-veggies side. Came quite quickly too. The staff was beyond cute and caring! A huge 5 stars to all 3 waiters on the shift!

Really feel hosted, this place is amazing, we called to reserve place they were full. And they called back immediately and offer us great deal with limited time. We accepted and enjoyed every second of it. Posted pics of meals that we enjoyed. Full recommendation for everyone. Call and reserve place on time

I've done maybe 500 hundred restaurants in the course of my life, ranging from really cheap to gourmet. This one officially ranks as the worst I've ever tried. If you're accustomed to food cooked with either butter, salt or spice, stay away from this place. The vegetables had no taste and were boiled. Purée was bland. They give you a nice garlic butter as an appetizer, you'd think they would have had some left to put in there. I wanted to try some "local" cuisine and so I went for the beef stew. There was nothing typical in there and the meat was very dry. Unironically, I've had better ones from the microwaves. On another note, though the plates came in after 45min, the staff was nice enough to give us a seat when we had no reservation and they were friendly. Good atmosphere as well. To summarize, if you've been used to your standard - insert country - restaurant, you'll be happier, probably anywhere else. Even more so for that price range.

Came in alone but got a seat for an hour. The place is obviously popular as people came pouring in even on a fairly early Monday evening. Old school Dutch place. The staff was really efficient and let’s say used to handling tourists of all sorts. Had Grandma’s stew, which was really good. The meat was fall apart tender, the gravy thick and tasty and all the various vegetables were well cooked. A bit weird for me to get apple sauce with it, but it worked pretty well. Recommend for a traditional Dutch meal.

Bistro Amsterdam is a charming restaurant in the heart of Amsterdam, easily recognizable by its iconic red triple x tables and chairs outside. Despite its touristy appearance, it's actually a fantastic place to experience authentic Dutch cuisine. The family-owned establishment provides a warm and welcoming atmosphere, making solo travelers feel right at home. Visitors are drawn to the stylish decor and delicious food and drinks, with homemade sate sauce being a particular highlight.
Enjoyed a really good meal here of soup, stew and apple pie washed down with a beer in an interesting traditional setting. The beef stew was placed on the table with the suggestion it was the best in the area and it was delicious, accompanied by mash, red cabbage and apple sauce. Served very quickly by welcoming staff. Well worth booking to guarantee a table.

My family showed up just before a crowed, so we got some fairly good seats. The atmosphere was alright, and the decorations were a bit... loud, to say the least. Everyone around us was having a great time and seemed to be enjoying the food. The staff was fun, happy, and quick. They smiled and interacted with everyone happily and were nice people. The food came within 20 minutes of our order, but that might have to do with the fact that we were quick to order before everyone from the crowed. The food was incredible as well. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals. It was all well made, and their was a lot of it. Even my sister, who has the stomach of a teenage boy, was full by the end of it. Over all, 4.8 stars. Loved it. Great place. Enjoyed our stay there and the food was good. If given the chance, I would probably go back.

OMG i think i finally made a fool of myself. The food was sooo good i pretty much licked the plate and was so clean even the waitress took notice. This is the 2nd location on my trip that had top notch customer service. We were treated like family and felt very warm and hospitable. I don’t eat desserts, but it was suggested and holy cow do not skip this dessert! It was like mini pancakes that Oma just made with a sprinkling of icing sugar and love! I wish we were there right now! I send lovely wishes to everyone who works there! I told the chefs there thank you when i was there and i’ll say it again “Thank you!!”

A. van Wees Tasting Locality is a charming pub and tasting room located in a former distillery on the Herengracht canal in Amsterdam. It offers an impressive selection of 17 different varieties of jenever, as well as French wines and classic Dutch fare. The cozy space is perfect for trying a kopstoot, which pairs jenever served neat with a glass of beer.
The food was good from start to finish. We ordered the Dutch pea soup and tomato soup, both were rich, flavorful, and perfect for a cozy meal. The chicken satay, vlammetjes, stew with fries, and the sandwich were all equally delicious, well-prepared, and full of taste. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the beer recommendations were spot-on. The place has a warm, inviting atmosphere that makes you want to stay longer and enjoy another round. One quirky and fun detail: the entrance to the toilet is actually a huge pipe. The decor of this place is great. Overall, it was a great visit with delicious food, good drinks, and friendly service. Highly recommended for anyone wanting a cozy and authentic Dutch experience in the heart of Amsterdam!

We had a family dinner on our vacation, my son wanted to try a dutch fondue and they serve a good one. The atmosphere is cozy and lovely, the service is very good and I must admit the food was very tasty (photos included). * one tiny thing I personally didn’t like is that there was a cat sitting on the bar and walking around freely in a place where you serve food *

Lovely location with some outside seating facing the canal and some cosy seating inside. Food was comforting especially for a windy and cold day. Restaurant gets busy around 12.30pm, but if you go in at 12 on the dot it will be easy to get a seat without a reservation.

If you’re looking for a classic Dutch pub (or restaurant), this is the place! You can enjoy a wide variety of beers, including some mixed with rum. The only downside was that the portions were smaller than expected. Still, the service, food, and atmosphere were all great.

Such a wonderful experience. We were keen to try the local cheese fondue and found this place. What a delicious choice! The fondue came with bread only, so we ordered the well done steak with four small pieces for €10 to go with it. The fries were really good too.

Got here just after 7pm on a Wednesday and found a table outside for 1 immediately. It's a very popular place with great view over the canal. Exactly what I needed after a long day!

We really experienced the peak of Dutch service here. We ordered a fried platter with cheese, and it took 45 minutes before I asked why it was taking so long. I had to follow up two more times before it finally arrived. No apology, no small gesture to make up for the delay. I actually love the place, the atmosphere, and their great beer selection, and I’ll come back again. But when it comes to Dutch service standards — which are generally poor — this was truly a staple. A terrible experience

This is a really neat pub with a great local beer selection, they also have a good sampling of American beers. American 60's tunes were on their speakers sounding good. Food was beef & veggie burgers & fries, all good portions. The staff is very friendly and informative. Great place, hope to return.

This is a wonderful spot for beer aficionados. They have over 200 bottles and did have Westvleteren available :) The host was very accommodating and gave excellent recommendations for us to try new beers that we had not had before but met our flavor profiles (saison, triple) and even recommended a few unique ones that we wouldn't have explored on our own including an excellent barrel aged stout. The food was excellent too! We also enjoyed all the fun beer related artwork on the walls.

MOAK Pancakes City Center is a popular spot in Amsterdam's Oud-West neighborhood, offering American-style pancakes that are a hit with both kids and adults. The menu features a variety of sweet and savory options, including the Mancake and Blue Magic Deluxe. The cozy atmosphere and stylish decor make it an enjoyable dining experience for all ages.
Spacious and clean restaurant. Our family of 3, including our toddler, thoroughly enjoyed our food. Their fresh pressed juice, watermelon and pineapple, was the best we tried so far in Amsterdam. The staff made a mistake with our billing, but quickly rectified it and gave us a discount on our drinks. We appreciate their professionalism.
Kelly T — Google review
I have to say, as much as people rave about the pancakes, it was the juice that really stole the show for me. I ordered the pineapple juice, and it tasted like it had been freshly squeezed straight from the fruit—refreshing, vibrant, and full of flavor. As for the Mancake, it was just okay—not bad, but nothing to write home about. What did take us by surprise, though, was the shredded chicken. It was incredibly tender and seasoned just right—definitely a highlight of the meal. If you’re planning to drop by, I’d recommend giving that a try. They don’t accept split bill if you come with several friends. The staff were warm and welcoming, and the whole place has a laid-back, cozy vibe that made the experience even better. All in all, a lovely spot with a few standout items on the menu!

I would definitely recommend coming for a brunch between friends for the salted pancakes / toast. However I couldn’t finish the sweet pancakes we took 2 differents kinds and the pancake have a kind of weird taste, the chocolate sauce also had a very specific taste that I didn’t quite like. The fruit juice were good (except the watermelon one) Unfortunately we could not finish them, not even half of them

Visited Moak pancakes for brunch and really enjoyed their fluffy pancakes and their wide selection of delicious brunch options. I had ordered the pink lady, which was perfectly complemented with the salmon and créme fraîche and really enjoyed the mix of savoury and sweet flavours. Their watermelon juice was great and I liked that it was served in a unique way. The service was great and accommodating and we received our food pretty quickly after ordering, which was great. Would highly recommend this place for brunch

It is what it is advertised. Pancake in both Savory and sweet. We love The Weekend - the amount of maple syrup is just enough that doesn’t overpower the cheese. They also do non diary version. The staff is very friendly and treat us to us (adults) a pure ginger shot each as appetiser on the house - it’s serious good stuff this! The house special pistachios ice cream is top notch. We all (the including kids) came out feeling very satisfied indeed! On top of cuisine the atmosphere is great. They play vinyl records in different genre music too. Would recommend.

The pancakes were good overall, I just missed the contrast between sweet and salty, so I added a bit of maple syrup to my salmon pancake. The watermelon juice was also really nice. We also asked for the ginger shot and it was INTENSE, recommend o my when feeling sick 😳

Salmuera is a vibrant restaurant in Amsterdam that opened its doors in 2015, quickly becoming a popular hotspot. Located on Rozengracht, it offers a fusion of Argentinian and Mexican flavors along with an extensive selection of mezcal and cocktails. The restaurant is housed in the historic building that was once the original Bols Distillery and features a lively atmosphere with upper and lower level dining areas.
Easily one of my favourite places in Amsterdam. 10/10 food, drinks and service. Honestly don’t know what you want more. The attention and passion that went into this comes back in everything. Oh, and yes the great agave selection in the bar definitely helps with that. Must visit - period.

Fantastic place, fantastic food and fantastic service. There was a but of a wait for the main dishes but it was totally worth the wait and the place was fully booked. The meat empanadas are amazing and also the meat cuts. Moises was super friendly took well care of us. If I had to improve something it will be the acoustics of the place. It can get super noisy and its hard to hear others. Thanks for the experience!
Patricia V — Google review
Great dining experience. Argentinian restaurant with a good variety to choose from, but not so large that it becomes difficult to decide. We got three steaks and the octopus as main dishes. I personally recommend the rib eye steak. The potato side dish was delectable also. They have a separate Mezcal menu which was a nice surprise. Their wine menu is very nice, with some tasty selections available. If you're not careful this will quickly inflate your bill, however. Logistics-wise everything was organized very well. The restaurant was fairly crowded when we came in but still we were seated and served swiftly. The restaurant was slightly noisy, due to the close seating of other tables. The waiters are very kind. The toilets were clean, although the restaurant could benefit from additional toilets. There is a singular standing toilet and a singular toilet with a door (for the men) for the entire restaurant. This can potentially get crowded. All in all a very enjoyable experience that I can definitely recommend trying out.

amazing food! My new favorite place on Amsterdam's map. Steak was delicious, ceviche very tasty. Our group ordered most of dishes from menu card - Kraken (Octopus), Chicken, Rib eye, tenderloin, tuna ceviche, Chicharrones (I tried it in Colombia first time and Salmuera version is very similar and also amazing). One last comment - Service - very kind, all the time smiling and joking!
Wojciech B — Google review
Been to Salmuera a couple of times now, some things we have noticed: The food is super nice, meat was fair priced and well cooked. Their empanadas are amazing. The pascualina however was nice in taste but disappointing in size - it is categorized as a main dish and it costs almost 20€, so I was surprised to see a pastry the size of an entree when it arrived. The service is consistently bad, it’s hard to get the staff’s attention and when we managed to, the interactions were passive-aggressive and the staff just seemed irritated. Ambiance is always nice here, this time we went on a Sunday and it was pretty crowded but still enjoyable. The tables are so close to each other it does get very noisy, even when the restaurant is not full. Overall hard to recommend with certainty as one cannot trust the experience will be good overall, but if you are just there for the food I guess it’s worth a shot.

Amazing Argentinian steak house with quality meat and interesting food on the menu. The service was great and fast, the employees were really nice and ready to explain and recommend. The food is amazing, especially the meat, and taste really good. The atmosphere is really romantic, the candle at the dinner table is just like from a movie. However, the music is way too loud, maybe that is because we were next to a speaker. Would recommend and come back!

Definitely a tourist trap. The food was alright enough, though very simple and quite overpriced. The real distressing thing was the water. At first, they attempted to scam us by selling us a bottle of tap water for 6 euros, by just asking if we wanted water- I only spotted the price in the bottle as the server walked away. As we obviously weren’t having that, we asked for tap water and were told we were NOT ALLOWED TAP WATER unless we bought a drink, despite paying for the expensive meal anyway. We declined, and poured our own tap water into the glasses already on the table. When they spotted this the seemingly helpless child serving us basically forced us to get a drink. Overall we felt very scammed and aggressed.

Delicious! We came here because it was so highly rated on many websites. This was our first dinner and Amsterdam and we were impressed. The ramen was on point. Delicious noddles and toppings, the broth was so rich and tasty. Gyoza appetizer was great too! Service was decent, but that's all of Europe right lol. I enjoyed the ramen here more than most places and I definitely recommend coming here if you're in the mood!!

This was the best and most delicious ramen we’ve ever had – far beyond what we could have expected. We also tried the veggie gyozas, which were absolutely fantastic. Kudos to the waiters for their kindness, friendliness, and the incredibly fast service. Waste of Time: l visited the restaurant with exception of a 4.6 restaurant with great food. Was I wrong, the Spicy Miso Ramen had bubble in it, the miso broth was watered down, lacked flavor and was overall disappointed. The fried chicken that came with the Ramen was undercooked. The skin was still undercooked The curry was bland with no flavor, straight out of the packet and add water!!! Thea Goyza, soup and salad was good, but the main entrées need looks of work. If you are looking for some knockout variations of Japanese Ramen and curry by all means visit, but if you want some real authentic Ramen and curry avoid this place!!!

Spicy, Soul-Warming Ramen 🌟 If you’re in Amsterdam and craving rich, flavorful ramen with a spicy edge, Takumi Umaimon should be at the top of your list. I tried the Spicy Miso Ramen and Spicy Chicken Ramen, and both absolutely delivered. The spicy miso broth was bold, warming, and deeply satisfying — just the right balance of heat and umami. The noodles had a great bite, and the toppings were fresh, especially the perfectly cooked egg and tender meat. The Spicy Chicken Ramen brought a slightly different flavor punch — juicy, well-seasoned chicken in a broth that felt comforting and intense at the same time. It’s the kind of bowl that makes you slow down and enjoy every spoonful. And don’t skip the gyoza — crispy on the outside, juicy and flavorful inside. A perfect side dish to complete the meal. The atmosphere at Takumi Umaimon is cozy, stylish, and welcoming. Service was quick and friendly, and everything came out fresh and hot. 👉 Verdict: One of the best ramen spots in the city — especially if you love a spicy kick(you have to just ask ;) ). Highly recommended!

Toasty Lunchroom is a delightful spot that offers a fantastic selection of smoothies, coffee, and chai, making it an ideal destination for lunch or a quick snack. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, complemented by friendly service. While they have limited vegan options—one of which can be surprisingly spicy—it’s still worth trying if you enjoy bold flavors. Breakfast here is particularly noteworthy; generous portions will keep you energized for your day exploring Amsterdam.
Such a lovely place and lovely people working there! The food was also very good and fresh and i definitively recommend this small sweet café!

The most amazing experience. The people who run the shop are amazing and made us want to come back again the food was so fresh. Very wholesome and homly

Such a good experience! The staff are so friendly, food is delicious. We came back the next day and they remembered us and how we liked our coffee. 10/10 would definitely recommend

Great breakfast. The size of the portions is great, will give you fuel to walk almost all day around Amsterdam. The coffee is excellent, great quality and very well prepared. Price is super reasonable, as 3 yogurts, 3 coffees and one extra latte were 30€ Will def go again tomorrow

This place was nice. Nice atmosphere, nice service. They only had one vegan option which I got. It tastes nice but was surprisingly spicy (so if you’re a vegan who doesn’t like spice, this isn’t the one for you). Over €8 for a toasty felt a bit steep to me, but it probably not an unreasonable price relative to Amsterdam. The coffee was also nice and they do non-dairy milk options.

Comfortable interior and very kind and humorous service. The Food we ordered (Red Fruit yoghurt and Smoked chicken Toasty) was delicious. But regarding the price you would expect a bigger portion. All in all 8/10

Lovely toasty place at the end of the overtoom, it’s perfect for breakfast, lunch or an afternoon snack. The member of staff/owner is super friendly and helpful. His spirit brings a nice vibe to the place. We had a cheese toasty and a tuna melt… both delicious!

If you're on the hunt for a delightful culinary experience, look no further than Small World Catering. This charming spot is a haven for sandwich lovers, offering an impressive selection of both warm and cold sandwiches crafted with care by its Australian owner and friendly team. You can customize your own creation or choose from their enticing menu featuring various types of bread—brown being a popular choice!
Me and my parents had such a lovely experience. I wish I lived near there to become my local place to go to. The food is stunning, one of the best sandwiches I ever had. The service was excellent, and our host, an Australian fella, made us feel at home. If you are on a short/long stay in Amsterdam! It's worth the visit, wish to be back one day :)

The owner’s sister has celiac, so the kitchen understands cross-contamination and uses clean utensils and cutting boards for gluten-free sandwiches. The gluten-free sandwich roll was one of the best I’ve ever had—lots of seeds and very delicious! It was so nice to eat somewhere that my partner could have a “real” gluten sandwich and I could safely eat gluten-free. The coffee was ask very good and it was fun to sit on the sidewalk. Perfect for a casual meal while exploring the city.

One of the best sandwich shops in Amsterdam! Came here after a video from the Broodjetesters. Had the turkey melt which was super tasty. Top ingredients, crispy ciabatta, and probably the best turkey I’ve had in a while. Their juices are also really nice. Highly recommend!

Great spot to stop by for a coffee and a bite! Good location right on the corner with a cute aesthetic and good seating (indoors & outdoors). The staff were very friendly and the drinks were delicious, I'd definitely recommend trying out one of their smoothies if you've had enough caffeine for the day!

I've been coming to Amsterdam for a long time and have never come across this hidden gem. Well thank god this time I did because what a place! The owner makes you feel at home straight away. He actually cares about what you order and wants to make sure you're happy with it. My daughter is very fussy with what she eats and she wanted something quite plain which wasn't on the menu and the owner was so accommodating. All the staff are so lovely. We both said our sandwiches were the best we've ever had. I will be back in December and this is the first place I will be heading to.

Everything is delicious and the owner, Sean is a gem! Cute corner spot right off of Haarlemmerdijk with outdoor seating. Usually very busy but they handle crowds efficiently so not much of wait. Great for take-away to the park or by the canal as well. Highly recommend! That’s all for now.

De Japanner is a popular spot in Amsterdam's lively De Pijp neighborhood, offering a variety of Japanese bites such as gyoza and sushi. The restaurant also features unique dessert options like vegan affogato with coconut ice cream and apple pie gyoza.
Variety of tasty dishes. Good prices. Excellent service. Great decoration and illumination. Just a bit too loud the music. Besides that, all perfect.
Diego A — Google review
If you’re gonna call yourself a Japanese restaurant you should learn how to make Japanese food. Gyozas were soggy, sushi tasted like albert heijn’s sushi, and the crispy fried rice were overcooked that it was so hard and unpleasant for the teeth. i would give this place a 2/10 for the nice service of the staff (they gave me a new portion of the fried rice because the old one was too hard to eat), but the food is just not Japanese.
Hanh N — Google review
A solid Japanese tapas-style restaurant, but not the best choice for a full dinner. We ordered the edamame, chicken katsu, bao buns, and sushi. The chicken katsu and bao buns were excellent, but the sushi was underwhelming. It is a good place for drinks and a light bite, especially if you want something casual and shareable. Prices are on the higher side for the portion sizes.
Brad L — Google review
If you are looking to fill your belly before a rave night, this place can definitely help. Fresh seafood and perfectly cooked rice. I liked the low lighting as it gives the place a cozy and comfortable vibe. The service was average since it took them a while to notice I was there or to come take my order.
Raul A — Google review
The food is ok I mean not that special not the best ingredients but well made. I can see that chefs are putting good effort in it. It did not feel like quite Japanese it was more like Asian inspired food (some meals are fusion like Bao buns, kimchi etc.) Service was a bit slow however the service employees were nice. Unfortunately, it is expensive for what you get.

Amazing small Japanese dishes to share, love the concept and the food was excellent! They were playing amazing music so the atmosphere was perfect for a Saturday night! the yuzu spritz was super refreshing. Perfect small bites before a night out.

The food is really delicious and looks nice. The Restaurant has a big selektion of different small dishes, so that you can order a bit of everything. It is a really good place to go to as a group, because you can share all the dishes. We sat outside and when it got a bit windy the waitress gave us blankets. The people working there are really nice.

Authentic Japanese restaurant
Ramen-Kingdom is a traditional Japanese ramen restaurant located opposite Amsterdam Central. The restaurant features both hot and cold ramen options, including vegan and vegetarian choices. One of its unique attractions is a gigantic Super Mario figure peering out of the window towards Loetje on the Prins Hendrikkade. Despite its small size of about 20 square meters, it's always bustling with customers, so making a reservation in advance is highly recommended.
Best ramen place in Amsterdam period. Really sad that it closed tho. Even with the qeue it is more than worth it. The broth is really full of taste and creamy, unlike a lot of other ramen shops in Amsterdam. Where can I satisfy my ramen cravings now?🫠

overhyped and i tasted better ramen. also they are very bad at communicating with there customers, also on there instagram with giving false information when they are opening again. i was a big fan, but now i think they dont deserve all the love they get. there are more ramen shops in amsterdam

This place has THE BEST RAMEN and is undoubtedly a gem for all ramen enthusiasts! The first thing you'll notice about Ramen Kingdom is that it's always bustling with customers. So, if you're planning to dine here, make sure to make a reservation in advance. Otherwise, you might find yourself waiting for a while, and let me tell you, the wait is more than worth it. I took my friend along, and it's safe to say that this place has made its way into her top 3 favorite restaurants, and that's saying a lot. We opted for the spicy pork ramen, and oh my, the flavor explosion is unforgettable. The broth was so rich and had the perfect level of spiciness. The chasu pork was charred and smoky, it was hands down the best we've ever had. I can literally eat this everyday, if given the chance. The service was great. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. They also provide you with an apron to ensure that your ramen adventure doesn't end up wearing a stain. When it comes to the price, it's quite reasonable considering the portion size and, most importantly, the unparalleled taste. You would know if you visit this place! It's clear why this place has received such raving reviews. So, if you're planning to visit Amsterdam, do yourself a favor and make sure Ramen Kingdom is on your list of places to experience. :)

Wandered in after seeing the amazing reviews, and this place definitely didn't disappoint! My boyfriend and I queued outside in the cold for slightly over 1 hour when we went in April. The queue was so long it turned several heads. When we got to the front of the line, we ordered and service was relatively fast. Food was slightly pricey, but well worth it. Staff members were friendly too! They offer 1 free side per bowl and one of the options is extra noodles (but not extra soup). The broth was so flavourful, everything was really well cooked. They torched the pork slices so those were tender and smoky. I've been to Japan and this is still the best ramen I've ever had. Still thinking about it months later - it made a wonderful memory for us :-)
Kelsy K — Google review
I got myself a spicy pork ramen with an extra egg and roasted pork for €20. It was so good! The broth was super rich and that roasted pork had this awesome smoky and yummy flavor. The portion was generous. The restaurant was pretty adorable, decorated with various japanese character. The only downside was just the crazy long queue, for like 1-1.5h.
Alice V — Google review
Everything is a 10. The place, the staff, the food... The broth in the vegetarian ramen is superb. There is always a queue outside but their system works so it flows pretty quickly. I would love to come back next time I am in Amsterdam.

Nice restaurant with good atmosphere. Ramen was good ( not as hot in temperature as i would expected. my friend like it like this). the soup taste was good however the noodles were not to what i am used too. the portion is a bit small compare to other ramen's so i did not feel full. my friend said the portion was fine for her. service was good n staff friendly. you have to wait quiet a lot of time as there is a big queue of people all the time as it is in the city center. overall good place although taking into account the portion side and price is a bit on the expensive side.

For those who are craving for absolutely delicious ramen, look no further!! This place which is close to Amsterdam Central Station… this is Ramen heaven!! The best ramen that I had for quite some time for sure!! Usually it is very crowded, so please be patient! I visited on a Wednesday afternoon around 5pm. I was greeted by a very friendly guy who was welcoming customers at the door. I don’t remember his name, but he has curly hair and a nice beard! He’s my bro now! I had to wait for maybe 15-20 minutes in the queue outside. Once inside, I placed my order on the large touchscreen terminal and was asked to wait outside until my order was ready. The ramen was absolutely delicious!! I chose the spicy minced pork, with chicken and spring onions as sides. The best way to subscribe their homemade broth… Liquid gold. It is absolutely divine! Not too spicy and jam packed with flavour flavour flavour!!! The minced meat was soft and very tasty. The chicken was very succulent and it had a delicious tea flavour that was zinging in your mouth after very bite. It truly is incredibly delicious!!! The personnel is so very very friendly, genuine and works very hard in the kitchen to serve the best ramen to the many many customers that come here. And to quote Daft Punk - “One more time”. You will come back one more time. And again… And again… And again!

Ramen was great! We got 2 chicken ramens, one with chicken breast and one with fire chicken, the one with the fried chicken is even more delicious. Chicken gyoza was one of the best I’ve had. Good quality and big portions. Highly recommended

We have enjoyed the late cloudy afternoon ramen inside. Just few minutes after the opening the place was full, we felt lucky to have a table without waiting. The place is very atmospheric and a little mess and loudinnes makes the full comfort for you if you look for something live and authentic! Mino vege and classic one were perfect. •Service: great service, people is nice and attentive. •Atmosphere: super cozy, relaxing music, great for visiting with friends. •Food: *I might got expectations from seeing this place’s reviews and came excited, but i felt a bit disappointed with the food* I ordered: -Edamame: a safe side dish to start -Takoyaki: they weren’t memorable, from there i was worried about the rest -ramen “top2 seasoned egg ramen”: it wasn’t great, eggs weren’t creamy but i will mention they tasted ok, I usually order extra eggs in my ramen but this was the first time I felt like it was too much, the pork wasn’t as crispy looking as the picture it was pale in comparison, broth was ok but exhausting at the long run… The staff and place are so nice i even feel a bit sad for my review.

It is expensive for the amount and quality. Their recommended black garlic ramen only has 2 slices of pork. the rest is just a vegetable soup, not even an egg. Overall, bland flavor. The karage does not even come with mayo. Wouldn't recommend it.

Paid 4 euros for two ramen eggs which for that price have to be perfect. Unfortunately they are completely overcooked, ramen eggs are supposed to be a bit liquid inside. There was also a cocooned insect in our ramen which is really bad. We are disappointed.

Service was VERY FAST. Appetizers came out not even 10mins after we placed the order. Karaage was delicious and the soups as well. Gyoza tasted like you regular frozen gyozas but still tasty. Would go again :)

It is worth to order this item with your ramen for sure! 20221203 The best Karaage in Amsterdam! Somewhere in 2018.... Really really good ramen place to eat in Amsterdam! A very good friend recommended it to me who has been to Japan a few weeks ago and I am glad I followed his advise. Its a shame that they are only located in Amsterdam and they got lot of Ramen noodle choices to choose from and their sides are delicious as well! They only open at lunch 12 till 3pmand dinner shifts 5 till 10pm. The japanese fried chicken is also good for to go -\(^_^)/

Tokyo Ramen Takeichi, located on Vijzelstraat, Amstelveenseweg, and Stadsplein 19 in Amsterdam, is a popular spot for locals and tourists alike. While the interior may not be as impressive as some other ramen places in the area, it's known for serving some of the best spicy ramen with a rich and deep broth.
My first Takeichi Ramen experience was in Akihabara, Tokyo, with my then-partner. Even though I was eating pork at the time, I didn’t really enjoy pork broth—so we were specifically searching for a chicken-based ramen spot. That’s how we found Takeichi, and we left the place full and happy. Today, I visited the Amsterdam branch alone and tried the red ramen and matcha pudding. All the staff were so welcoming and kind-hearted. My partner is no longer beside me, or even in my life—but one thing that hasn’t changed is the taste and quality of this ramen. Today, I created a new memory—one with a touch of nostalgic sadness. Thank you for keeping something so simple, yet so comforting, exactly the same. (Also, I forgot to take a photo before eating… eheh.)
Yağmur Ç — Google review
The ramen was so good I deliberately burned my mouth twice... Wow. What a spot and what a quality of food. I knew I was at the right place when I could only hear Japanese coming from the kitchen. I entered this gem on the Vijzelstraat out of the blue. I'm usually not this spontaneous with visiting a restaurant but I guess something called me into here. When I walked past, I gotta be honest, it didn't look like much. But then again, that goes for most places that are well worth your visit. The place was full with Asian people which is always a good sign. And trust me, it was busy through out my experience. The miso deluxe ramen is simply fantastic! It contains, bamboo shoots, red/green onion, half an egg, two chicken chashu and some cabbage. If I tell you that each and every single ingrediënt is great, it's an understatement. The broth is savory and salty, just perfect. The veggies are soft and crispy at the same time while holding flavour!! The chicken is great as well, not really special but it is freaking tender. It almost falls apart on your chopsticks and absorbs the broth. The restaurant isn't too big. As a matter of fact it doesn't hold that many people. So be aware of the consequences that come with that. My experience was great, the music is at a perfect level so you can hear it through the conversations without making you yell. The atmosphere is oke, it's straightforward. Eat your ramen and be on your way. I love it. The service is amazing. Despite being a bit overwhelmed, the dude that helped me was fairly quick, clear and very nice to me. He speaks multiple languages so that's dope too. Big props to this spot and keep it up! I'll be sure to bring my friends here. A solid 4.5 ⭐.

Visited Tokyo Ramen Takeichi, a cozy ramen spot tucked in the heart of Amsterdam. The place has a warm vibe and the service was friendly and efficient throughout our visit. What really stands out is the excellent price-to-value ratio. Also, the menu offers a wide variety—from rich, flavorful ramen to crispy karaage, tasty rice bowls, gyoza, takoyaki, and more. Everything we tried was well-prepared and satisfying. A great place whether you're craving a comforting bowl of ramen or looking to try different Japanese street food classics. Definitely recommended if you're around Amsterdam and looking for a delicious, Japanese meal!

The food is very very good here. Ramen with actual flavour. What's not good is the extortionate pricing of drinks. They will not serve tap water here, instead you can pay 4 euros for just 250ml of water. The exact same water, you can buy from the supermarket yourself as a consumer for 9.99 (24 bottles) - this makes the water 10x more expensive than what you can get it for yourself. Markup is obviously expected but this much is greedy. Toilets not very clean. The menu, at least for lunch, has been severely cut down recently. Some nice options are not available anymore.

Men Impossible is a cozy Japanese restaurant located in Amsterdam, offering a unique dining experience with its focus on vegan ramen and traditional Japanese dishes. The restaurant gained popularity for its high-quality vegan ramen options, attracting both vegans and non-vegans alike. Guests can savor five varieties of Sauce Ramen, including black garlic, white garlic, hot chili, truffle, or a combination of chili and garlic for dipping noodles.
I’ve visited many restaurants, both abroad and in the Netherlands, and have traveled Japan quite extensively. I can say, without a doubt, that this was some of the best Japanese food I have ever tasted. The flavors here are top notch, the ingredients authentic, and everything is plant-based. The courses are nicely spaced out, allowing you to experience a large range of different tastes, textures and dishes. The quality is truly impeccable, giving you the feeling of fine dining. There is a subtlety and elegance to every plate, and the flavors come out like magic. I want to thank the chefs and host for the great night, I am certain to come again.

I don’t even know where to begin how to describe what an incredible experience and tastebud journey eating here was! This was my first time here so because it is a tasting menu every dish that was brought out was a sensory delight. The food was absolutely gorgeous in presentation as well as one of the most delicious meals I’ve ever had. Highly highly recommend this one if you visit Amsterdam!

Very nice multi-course Japanese inspired vegan meal. Some of the flavors were a bit muted, but the black garlic Amaze-men is worth the trip. Also recommend the Sake pairings. Nice selection that paired well with all the dishes. Small place so reservations definitely recommended.

Absolutely incredible. I can’t believe the food was vegan! We loved every single course, especially the mushroom takoyaki and black garlic ramen and spicy ramen! The saucy ramen was so creamy and incredible. The tofu ice cream was also incredible. Genuinely one of the best meals we’ve had in a long time — each bite was a hit, even if it was something we’d never dream of pairing together. An absolute must-visit in Amsterdam.
Paige D — Google review
Amazing vegan restaurant! Found this place on happy cow on my last full day in Amsterdam and was able to secure a super last minute reservation at the big shared table for 8pm. I was unsure how the table setting might affect my experience eating out alone, but fortunately the seat right in front of me was empty. There are very limited 2 person tables available, so be sure to reserve in advance if you are concerned about the seating arrangement. Overall I absolutely loved my dinner here. It felt very luxurious, with beautiful plating and creative dishes, but for a comparatively affordable price of 49€ for the 6 course menu. The only thing you choose is the ramen flavor ( I had the black garlic one) the rest is fixed. I especially enjoyed the sushi trio, the ponzu mushrooms, and the warm seasonal bites. Since I am not a fan of okra the soup wasn’t really my thing. I wish there would have been a ‘buffer’ dish between the warm bites and the ramen, as the fried tempura, croquette and takoyaki are already quite heavy, which made it difficult to enjoy the saucy and equally heavy ramen. Even a small bite of pickled veggies or just something to freshen the palate would have been great. Speaking of the ramen, I was surprised to see that all the ramen is saucy ramen rather than soupy, and while there is the option to upgrade to soupy ramen, this is only possible for the (in my opinion overpriced) amount of 4.50€. That option is also only available for the truffle flavor. Seeing as ramen served in broth are most common in Japan, and considering that such a heavy dish is number 5 in this course order, I hope that the restaurant might consider serving more broth ramen in the future. I ended up only having small bites of the noodles and instead eating all the leafy greens and bits of vegetables I could find to try and cleanse my palate and get rid of the heavy feeling. The portion was also quite big, but I will note that the kind waitress offered to give me a to go box which I had to decline because of my morning flight. The dessert was okay, it was good but I feel like they could be a bit more creative with it. I got the umeshuu (plum sake) for 10€ which I felt went well with my meal. The service was good, both servers were nice, attentive but not pushy. If you wish to have a bit of a slower paced meal I would inform them at the very start of the dinner because they are quite well paced and your next dish will appear in no time after you’ve finished the previous one. The chef was Japanese and after chatting to him in Japanese as I was about to leave I learned that he’s not all that comfortable in English yet, so don’t be surprised if he doesn’t do much of the serving/interacting with guests. Overall a very pleasant, luxurious experience for a fair price! If I’m ever in Amsterdam again I will definitely be back and bring a friend.

we are vegan so 100% flat based really attracted us to Men Impossible I like the idea of having a set menu and the Japanese themed dishes The team and the restaurant takes a lot of pride in their dishes, and it shows in the taste and presentation of each dish I’ll definitely come back
Ken K — Google review
An all-vegan Japanese spot. The menu is set, so no tough choices—except for the ramen flavors, and honestly, the move is to get both. We had one with black burnt garlic and the other with red chili, and swapping between the two was a good one. It was well balanced, not overwhelming, just that deep, rich kick you want in a good bowl of ramen. Service was good, the space is tiny but well-organized, with a big community table in the middle. If you’re up for it, it’s a great place to have a casual chat with strangers while enjoying your food. Despite the price creeping up over the years (from around 30 to now 50), it still feels worth it for the quality and experience. Definitely recommend if you’re into well-executed, creative vegan food.

BUT Issue (s) couldn't be ignored: 1- The lady taking the orders felt like she was about to throw a punch at any second and she felt extremely aggressive which did not feel welcoming 2- She offered new customers some extra choices and options which wasn't mentioned to us at all, and it gave some racist vibes if I have to be honest 3- The cutlery was dirty and had dried unknown things on it which ended up with me using disposable chopsticks to eat rice 4- One of the dishes had hair in which kinda ruined the entire mood Hygiene is highly questionable in that restaurant that's for sure and what makes things even more intense is the behavior of that lady who takes orders with her aggressive behavior that intimidates u to even ask for any help on the issues. Will I ever go there again? Most likely not, good food is nice but good Hygiene is a must with every food experience + good service and attitude. Pity experience after all but an experience after all.

Was alright… the flavour was decent but it didn’t really give me that “can’t wait to come back here again” feeling. Service was nice but it took a bit long for two dishes to arrive.

Ordered the spicy miso veg ramen and some prawn croquettes. My mom and sis ordered the veg miso, we were all disappointed with the ramen which came from the kitchen super quick, like 5mins or so, which we found sketchy. The broth was blegh, no taste almost, the noodles were however good. But what really bothered us was all the spinach leaves they put on the ramen. First ramen I've had with spinach. The service was nice and the decoration is also nice.

One of the best Asian spots in the area, their specialty is in ramens but they have other great alternatives also, I usually get spicy miso ramen but this time I got the Chicken Katsu Curry which was also great.
Robin Y — Google review
I have to start by saying this ramen is expensive for what it is. However, for what it is, it is good. I had the shoyu, and it was solid. The toppings are kept simple but every topping was well done. The chashu seems to be pork shoulder rather than pork belly, so don't expect the melt in your mouth fatty chashu. But for pork shoulder chashu, it was quite good. If I lived here, and if the ramen was €14 instead of €17.5, I would come all the time since simple shoyu ramen hits the spot for me. And it was good, simple ramen.
Chris L — Google review
I found the shoyu ramen here overwhelmingly salty even though it was mentioned on the menu. Unfortunately, it was so strong that it made it hard to really enjoy the dish. Might be just a personal preference, but I wouldn’t recommend this one unless you really like intense saltiness :/
Amandine L — Google review
The service is excellent, I was very well attended. The appetizers are delicious, especially the karaage. The miso ramen lacked miso flavor, but everything else was great. There is also a wide variety of oriental drinks and beverages. I went on a Monday night, so it wasn’t crowded. I recommend it, but not if you're a miso enthusiast.

Ramen restaurant
Authentic Japanese restaurant
Nestled in the heart of Amsterdam, Vatten Ramen Zeedijk is a delightful spot that brings a fresh twist to Japanese street food. With an impressive array of ramen options, including chicken-based soups and vegetarian choices, this eatery caters to diverse palates. The broth strikes a perfect balance—lighter than some but bursting with flavor. While the toppings may not steal the show, the overall experience shines through.
Wonderful ramen, with a beautiful view. This hidden gem is well worth a visit. Queues can be long though, so I’d recommend booking in advance. Have been here multiple times and it’s consistently good.

Popped in for dinner during a stay in Amsterdam this weekend and adored the simple style of the restaurant, along with some interesting choices on the menu. I had the homemade Oolong Iced Tea which, in the heat of the day was amazingly refreshing. Then the chicken karaage starter with a yuzu and black sesame sauce on the side - I'm not a big fan of karaage on the bone so was delighted with the chicken thighs used, and lovely crunchy batter. The star of the meal (the lovely staff aside) was the seasonal Hiyashi Chuka cold ramen. Guided to mix to coat the noodles and toppings in the lovely soy and yuzu dressing which sits at the base of the bowl, the fresh toppings combine with the noodles to be the perfect meal when it's 28 degrees and muggy outside. My new favourite ramen spot in Amsterdam, thank you Team Vatten Zeedijk

This place in the middle of the busy Zeedijk looks really cool. Both upstairs and especially downstairs there is a beautiful view on the canals. Concrete walls with artwork on them. Boats passing. Love the vibe of the place. They have three vegan ramen dishes and quite a few other vegan things on the menu. The miso glazed aubergine was lovely and looked nice as well, cut in cubes. The kimchi was super spicy, as advertised, and full of flavor. Unfortunately the vegan gyoza were bland. They looked good but did not taste like anything. That was a bit disappointing. The vegan black tantanmen (black sesame seed base) was nice and subtle. Not too strong in flavors but I could appreciate it after a while. Nice and earthy and creamy. My favorite was the Kinoko ramen (mushroom base). Full of nice different mushrooms and you could really taste that strong mushroom flavor in the soup as well. Both ramen had plenty of toppings. Although I would have prefer some solid tofu instead the crumble, because that created a bit of a messy soup. Had a yuzu tiramisu as dessert. Very nice and thick and creamy with a subtle hint of citrus. Looked great as well. Staff was super friendly and I really liked the overall vibe of the place.
Patrick P — Google review
The best ramen ever...with a view! It was not our first time here and we are as amazed as the first time. I recommend the Karaage and the Gyosas for a light sharing-starter. And try the yuzu sake, a marvel...

The best ramen in the city. Everything was delicious. Excellent service, especially from Paqui. Very nice and cozy atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back!
Pilar C — Google review
A great spot to enjoy ramen! The menu is interesting and diverse, with good options for vegetarians. The restaurant offers a beautiful view of the canals, although window seats are limited. It's usually not too crowded, so you can often find a table without a reservation. There's also a second floor for additional seating. As for the ramen: the non-vegetarian options can be a bit too fatty for some tastes. By default, only chicken is offered, but you can customize your bowl with other meats. All ramens have a signature marinated egg, which adds a nice touch. Overall, I’d recommend this place.!
Olha B — Google review
Ramen with a view on the canals? Big yes! The miso aubergine was delicious and probably the highlight of the meal! The kimchi was very spicy (on low-resistance my spicy scale). I had a vegan Kinoko ramen which had a nice and strong mushroom flavor. I wasn’t a big fan of the crumbled tofu on top, I like it more when it’s cubes or slices of fried tofu.
Lorene F — Google review
The food was good! Half their menu options were vegan which is always a major bonus. The food itself was quite good! We enjoyed their plum wine as well. We had their vegan mushroom ramen and it was definitely the right option, it was really flavorful and unique and not a dish that is available at any ramen place. The gyozas were also super enjoyable. The star of the show however is the fantastic view over the water. This is definitely a place I would recommend for everyone just to get a chance to enjoy this view! The staff was also amazing and super friendly. They let us stay to finish our drinks while they had started closing. We expected to be rushed or asked to leave or anything but they were super chill and really nice about it. Had a great experience!!

Restaurant
Pancakes Amsterdam, located at Prins Hendrikkade 48, 1012 AC Amsterdam, offers a diverse menu featuring pancake-centric dishes inspired by both international cuisine and traditional Dutch cooking. The restaurant categorizes its menu by style, with dedicated sections for flat Dutch pancakes and thicker American varieties. Toppings range from savory combinations like ham and cheese to sweet treats such as chocolate sauce and stroopwafel crumble.
The staff were incredibly approachable and friendly, lovely people from start to finish. Great environment with wonderful ambience while eating! The food was delicious, got some sweet Dutch pancakes which were superb, a constant sweetness throughout that didn’t turn sickly towards the end like a lot of other “sweet treat” food spots

After arriving in Amsterdam, I really fancied some pancakes and being a very short walk outside of the station this place was perfect. It was a little busy when I arrived however I still got a seat straightaway. Firstly just want to say that the staff were brilliant! Really friendly and helpful, they were always smiling and created a nice atmosphere. A great selection of food and drinks are available but I went for the basic maple and bacon option and a coffee. The coffee arrived almost straight away and was lovely. Like I said it was a little busy but my pancake arrived about 5-7 minutes later so still very quick service, and these were equally nice. Really fluffy and just spot on. It was a really good sized portion, (I got through about 2 and a half of them before they beat me) and the bacon wasn’t quite as snappy/crispy as I like, but they were nicely cooked and tasted great. And to top it off, after I paid they gave me a nice little keyring to remember the place and I personally love it when places do things like this. It’s just a really nice touch and I’ll always remember this place when I see it, and it really set the tone for what was an awesome day in an amazing city. 🙂 When I’m next in Amsterdam I’ll definitely be coming back here. The only thing I can say to just be aware of is if it’s busy, it can be a light bit tight if you sit outside as you’ll be sitting quite close to others. For me it wasn’t a problem as I’m not very big, but there was still a little bit of manoeuvring to get in and out, but the food and service you get is top notch so well worth it. In fact while I was eating a couple turned up with some suitcase and the staff offered to keep the cases safe inside so they could sit outside. Thank you Pancakes Amsterdam for a memorable and enjoyable visit.

We had breakfast here, and it was really good! The portions are big and very filling — definitely enough to start your day right. The prices are a bit on the expensive side, but that’s expected since it’s located in the city center. The service was good, and overall, it was a nice experience. Worth trying if you’re in Amsterdam and want a hearty breakfast!
Atif G — Google review
We came here a few times — a calm, friendly spot just across from Amsterdam Centraal Station that’s incredibly convenient if you’ve got a train to catch. It’s easy to find and perfect for a relaxed breakfast or a casual brunch before exploring the city. The team working there were warm and efficient — friendly smiles, quick service, and they never made me feel rushed despite the steady stream of people coming in. My pancakes arrived sooner than I expected, piping hot and nicely presented. The menu has a good range of choices, including protein-friendly options (think extra eggs or savory choices) and clearly marked gluten-free alternatives, which I appreciated as someone traveling with dietary preferences. The portions are satisfying without being overwhelming, and they pair nicely with a well-brewed cup of coffee. The atmosphere is welcoming and laid-back — light, cozy seating and a gentle buzz of conversation that makes it a nice place to linger. It’s also family-friendly, with menu items that appeal to kids and adults alike. If you’re in a hurry, they do handle takeaway swiftly, which is convenient given the station location. One practical note: because of how convenient it is, especially for travelers arriving or departing from the station, the place fills up quickly — particularly on weekend mornings and during tourist season. If you want a quieter experience or a guaranteed table, come early or aim for a late-afternoon snack time. That said, turnover is decent, and the staff manage the flow well, so wait times aren’t usually too long. Overall, a relaxing and reliable spot for pancakes in a prime location. Friendly service, tasty options for different diets, and a cozy vibe make it worth a visit — just plan for crowds and come early if you want a guaranteed table. Highly recommended for a casual, delicious pit stop by Centraal Station.

Overall pretty good experience. The food was good, there was wide range of options on the menu. I got something basic, but looking at the food on other tables some of the pancakes can be quite decadent. Coffee was good here, with options for oat or soy milk. I will say the temperature inside the restaurant was very hot and a bit of airflow would have made the dining experience more pleasant. The servers were nice, but limited interactions with customers because it was busy.

You can't go to the Netherlands and not have a Dutch pancake, and you shouldn't go to Amsterdam and not have one at Amsterdam Pancakes! Short queue, worth the wait, had one savoury and one sweet between us and some refreshing lemonades. All delicious! Would definitely come again and keep working through the menu - lots of tasty classics and modern combos to try.

I recently visited Pancakes Amsterdam and it was such a delightful experience! The Dutch pancakes we ordered were melt-in-your-mouth and with just the right balance of sweetness. I tried the Dutch pancake with sweet strawberries, hazelnuts and whipped cream, and it was absolutely delicious. The presentation was lovely too! Portion size was generous. The atmosphere of the shop was friendly and inviting. Staff were attentive and welcoming, which made the visit even more enjoyable. Overall, I’d highly recommend Pancakes Amsterdam to anyone looking for a comforting brunch spot or a sweet treat / savoiry pancakes any time of day. I’ll definitely be coming back to try more of their menu before my holiday comes to an end!

Went to Pancakes Amsterdam for a solo dinner and had a decent experience overall. I was seated quickly and the waiter came by within about 5 minutes—friendly enough, though didn’t introduce himself. The wait time for food wasn’t too bad (around 20 minutes), and the menu does a good job of explaining that the pancakes are made fresh, so I knew what to expect. I ordered the ham & cheese pancake with a fried egg. It was okay taste-wise—not really my thing, but that’s on me for picking a savory option. I’d definitely come back to try one of their sweet pancakes instead, which seem more popular. Really appreciated the smooth contactless payment option at the end. Overall, a solid spot to try Dutch-style pancakes in a relaxed setting. Also love the outdoor of the restaurant!

Café Loetje is a bustling restaurant in Amsterdam that has been serving specialty steaks and classic Dutch dishes for over thirty years. The homemade fries and juicy steaks are particularly popular, with many considering them to be the best in the Netherlands. The restaurant's interior design provides ample opportunities for taking photos, and there is also a shaded terrace for outdoor dining. With multiple branches in Amsterdam and beyond, Café Loetje offers plenty of choices for carnivores.
I've been to this restaurant two nights in a row & both times the food, service, and atmosphere was wonderful. The steak with garlic gravy was my favorite. The salad was delicious with the most fresh ingredients. The fries: delicious, both regular and sweet potato. The burrata salad: delicious as well as the croquettes. The dessert, I forget the name but it had pistachio ice cream. That. Was. Absolutely. Phenomenal. I'll definitely be dreaming about this restaurant when I'm back home. I do recommend making a reservation if you can but it's definitely not required.

Hungry after the Rijksmuseum, I wanted something Dutch, so we came here. When arriving the conservatorium (with the glass roof) was packed, and we opted for the bar instead of the back room, which was a little stuffy, but it is a fine room for small kids for parents to be able to keep an eye on them. We sat at the bar. The bar was empty but soon filled up when a line formed for tables. Of the 4 or 5 places where we ordered bitterballen on our holiday, this place had my favorite. They were crisp outside, gooey in the middle, and so, so lekker! There were vegetarian options also. I had the beets and loaded sweet potato fries. My dining partner had the steak and green beans. The steak was cooked perfectly. The only issue was that the place seemed understaffed. They really need someone else to clear the tables and help the bar person. The servers busted their asses doing everything. Give them a raise! And sitting next to dirty glasses was not pleasant, but that spot at the bar had the best view.

The meat (biefstuk) was absolutely perfect — soft, juicy, and full of flavor. One of the best I’ve had! The overall taste and quality of the food were excellent. However, the service was quite slow; we had to wait around 45 minutes after ordering. Worth visiting for the food, but be prepared for a wait.

Went with an acquaintance and really enjoyed the food. I’ll post pictures because my Dutch is lacking. We ordered a few drink, Moscow Mule and a Pornstar Martini, lovey by anyone’s standards. The croquettes were a beautiful way to start the evening off. All texture components were spot on, crunchy on the outside and smooth on the inside. Then we moved along to our main courses. The star of the show on both plates was the garlic gravy. 10 out of 10 will come again. The service was exceptional. The only blights were sitting under the skylight that was open and getting drizzled on by rain. Also the space was tight and there was a lot of movement that was not ideal near and by the table but still this is an absolute gem when visiting Amsterdam.

Good thick cut medium rare steak. You'll be given some bread to eat with the sauce on the plate. I tried the option with the added chicken livers, ham and onions. The chicken livers are slightly crispy on the outside which give a good bite and are tasty. Ham is too salty though. If I go back the next time I'll go just for the steak on the plate alone and order the chicken livers on the side to share. The steak is quite pricey though at almost 30 euro for the medium size.

Salsa Shop is a Mexican eatery offering a variety of dishes such as burritos, tacos, and bowls. The venue can accommodate a good number of people and the service is prompt and friendly. Customers have the option to customize their orders, choosing from meat or vegan options, veggies, and sauces. The portion sizes are quite generous compared to other places in Amsterdam. We stumbled upon this place after the Heineken Experience, on our way to another museum. We were hungry and it seemed convenient, and honestly, the staff were very friendly with super nice service — definitely a welcoming spot. Curious about their Mexican options, I ordered 3 tacos de carnitas. They were okay, but I wasn’t expecting authentic food either. Outside of Mexico, I’ve noticed that “Mexican food” often just means some meat or chicken wrapped in a tortilla with beans, corn, cheese, and sour cream. If you put those together, suddenly it’s called “Mexican fresh.” The carnitas here were really far from what they should be. They were cold, which made the grease hard, and the tortilla wasn’t properly warm. On top of that, they even asked me if I wanted sour cream with them — which for carnitas is a total sin! It felt like asking an Italian to put sour cream on pasta. Definitely not close to how we prepare them back home. The price also felt a bit high for what you actually get. In the end, it was helpful because we were hungry, but I wouldn’t really call this Mexican food.

If you're wandering through Amsterdam and find yourself in need of a comforting meal, look no further than RAMEN-ISM & IMPOSSIBLE. This delightful ramen haven is the perfect antidote to those blustery days when rain seems to be coming from every direction. Here, ramen transcends the ordinary; it’s not just a quick fix but an art form where homemade noodles meet meticulously crafted broth that has simmered for 24 hours.
Amazing ramen! The broth was super tasty, noodles perfect, and the toppings (especially the eggs and pork) were delicious. No wait for a table and the vibe inside was nice, not too loud. The staff were really nice, which made the whole experience even better. Prices are fair (€20–30 per person) and totally worth it. Highly recommend, I’ll definitely come back!

📍 The location is convenient and easy to find. Service was very good – staff were friendly and always smiling 😊. 📲 Ordering is done through a QR link with payment upfront. The food was served in about 15 minutes ⏱️. 🍜 As for the taste, it wasn’t quite what I expected. The flavor is different from the original ramen I’ve had in Japan – it feels like the recipe was adjusted to local preferences. For me, it didn’t really bring back the feeling of authentic Asian comfort food. ✨ Still, it’s a nice option if you want to try something different in the area.

The food was fantastic – easily the best meal of my trip! Perfect after a long day walking around the city. Staff were friendly and thoughtful, just like you’d expect in a ramen shop in Japan. A small, cozy place where everything is executed with precision. The service is courteous and prompt, the ordering process is easy, and the food is absolutely wonderful. The umami ramen was the creamiest I'd ever had, the eggs were delicate, and the flavors were balanced. Highly recommended.

Let’s start with the things I like about the place. They are very friendly, almost Japan level friendly, like they are in Japan. Ordering system is easy and the service is very quick. We had to maybe wait like 5 minutes. They have a lot of side dishes and drinks. I had the Soyu Ramen. The noodles were curly and had a great bite to them. But what I didn’t like so much was the broth… I had soyu, and normally this is without miso. I don’t really like miso, but for some reason I tasted this… or maybe it was something else as they didn’t state it on the menu. I didn’t really enjoy this part, and the broth is the most important part. Prices are also quite high, but then again, this is Amsterdam…

On my first trip to Amsterdam, I stopped by Ramen-ism and it turned out to be one of the best meals of my visit. The place is small and cozy, with a relaxed vibe that makes you feel comfortable right away. The staff was friendly and welcoming, which really stood out for me as a first-time visitor. You order and pay through the app before you eat — even the tip — which was super easy and stress-free. Once the food came, I knew why people love this place. The broth was rich and full of flavor, the noodles were soft fresh and delicious.the Karraga was crispy and tasty, no sause needed..They also have a full vegan menu. The portions were generous, and for Amsterdam, the price was good. Ramen always warms me up and makes me happy after a another day of exploring another cold wet city.We Just left London... I gave it 5 stars without hesitation. If you’re in Amsterdam and craving something comforting and satisfying, Ramen-ism should definitely be on that list.

Small japanese ramen restaurant in amsterdam city centre. Staff were very friendly and polite - like what you normally get when you're in japan, which was really nice. Id probably advice to make a reservation as the restaurants quite small and it can get quite busy on weekends. Restaurant is more of the "eat quickly and leave soon" type of restaurant (like all ramen restaurants in japan). Not exactly a fast food type but not really a "lets take my time and eat for 2 hours" type either. We ordered the mushroom tamrn special, the miso ramen special, starter/mini bites set (gyoza, vegan shrimp tempura, yuzu drink) and a homemade yuzu soda. 1. homemade yuzu soda: not completely homemade as they use the store bought yuzu syrup. Liked it but not exactly home-made. 2. vegan shrimp tempura: amazing! tasted like the actual seafood. sauce was nice, and the batter was crispy. 3. gyoza: ok. nothing special but not bad. 4. myshroom ramen special: only available this week, in collaboration with mushroom tokyo. Tasted very authentic and portion size was just enough without feeling that you've overate ; but considering the price, the portion size felt a little small. 5. miso ramen special: Very large portion. Not too much ramen, but there was a lot of meat and veg. Noodles were thick, wide, and wavy - not the usual noodles you'd expect. This ramen is very similar to a specific type of ramen in japan, even the saltiness. Be warned: this ramen, the soup, is extremely salty. In japan, most of the soups at proper ramen places tend to be on the saltier side, so this rameb is definitely authentic, but it's definitely extremely salty. If you like your food on the saltier side then you should be fine, otherwise this can be too salty for most.

We were expecting good things from this place from the reviews but were very disappointed. To be fair, we only ordered two lemonades- but these took 25 minutes to be brought out to us. I wish I could say it's because it was busy but there were only two or three other occupied tables. In fact, the next table to us also had to wait a very long time (on a table that hadn't been cleaned from the last group) and their order was brought out wrong twice. When it finally arrived, our lemonade (difficult to mess up) was incredibly watered down and we couldn't finish it. Lots of lovely cafes round here - just not this one.

Everything is good, we finished sandwich before taking photo. We love drink, food, atmosphere and staff service. It's so nice, recommend to take sometime here :)

I've been to many Stach shops and always like to come again. Mostly the sweets are just the best. The sandwiches are really nice, and the coffee is good as well.

(Translated by Google) At STACH on Hoogoorddreef in Amsterdam, I stumbled upon a chicken and avocado sandwich that far exceeded my expectations. As soon as I walked in, the fresh and modern look was immediately striking: plenty of light, clean lines, and a cozy counter stocked with snacks and coffee syrups. The menu is displayed large and clearly above the bar, allowing you to leisurely choose from the wide variety of sandwiches and drinks. I chose the Chicken and Avocado sandwich, and it proved to be a hit. The photo shows the firm, freshly baked multigrain baguette, generously filled with tender chicken pieces, spicy seasonings, and a generous layer of creamy avocado. What I really appreciated was the generous use of avocado—full, creamy, and perfectly ripe. The fresh arugula on top made it all deliciously crunchy. From the first bite, you can immediately taste that this sandwich is freshly made; the chicken was juicy and well-seasoned, without being overpowering. The atmosphere at STACH is relaxed and modern, with friendly staff who work quickly and cheerfully, even during the busier lunchtimes. Besides sandwiches, they also offer a wide selection of coffees, iced drinks, and small snacks like banana bread or Florentines – perfect for takeaway. This location is also easy to reach: Hoogoorddreef is located in the heart of Amsterdam Zuidoost, close to offices and public transport. Parking nearby can be a bit tricky, so the metro or bike is recommended. Fun fact: STACH is known for its changing specials, and I also saw the Lebanese Sajeria Special on the menu. That makes it worth coming back often to try new combinations. My tip: definitely try the chicken avocado sandwich if you like savory, spicy, and richly filled. Order an iced latte or homemade lemonade for the perfect lunch break.
