Delicious fish and the pasta dish was also very good. Focaccia is served as "bread" to go with your meal and it was delicious. The food is very fine, congratulations to the chef. Portion sizes are small so if you are a hungry you'll need to main courses as they often propose in this region.

We would come back to Genoa just for this restaurant: it was in a non-descript hotel in a small alley but it was the best meal we had in the city. The other restaurants we had seen looked too touristy and didn’t have enough seafood on the menu which you think a town on the coast would. Anyway, the service was attentive and smooth (they brought extra bread without us asking - much appreciated) and all the dishes were excellent. The pasta was in particular one of the best we ever had!

Been here twice, for dinner and lunch. Food is good, prices are in the average. The first time I took the squid and the second time the spaghettoni with astice. Both were tasty and their desserts are really good, I recommend taking one.

A seafood restaurant next to Best Western hotel (same entrance) with excellent food and service ! We had Gamberi fritti with maionese and a super tuna tartare with green salad as starters followed by a delicious half lobster with spaghetti and a devine “Polpo (octopus) alla piasta con flan di zucca, purea di patate affumicata, salsa aioli allo zafferano e carciofi fritti” It would be a disaster If I try to translate this superb dish !!! All sweets following were incredible! Be careful when you reserve a table we made a mistake and we sent our reservation to the Rome same name restaurant …we gave our credit card online and because we didn’t show up we were charged €10 each one person. The very helpful and kind staff in Genova restaurant couldn’t help though they were willing to. But we will come back.

A very nice fine dining restaurant that specializes in sea food. It is located in the heart of the city of Genova and is within the best western inn. The staff are very friendly and help you in choosing your options from their wide varieties. The place is very chic and modern with a lot of cool interior elements. Unfortunately I do not eat sea food but the staff were very accommodating and provided me with excellent alternative choices of all the plates. My colleagues really enjoyed all the sea food plates and remarked that every plate is outstanding. The wine nicely complements with the meal and finally the desert is very unique and tasty. I highly recommend this place to enjoy some of the finest plates of sea food.

Wonderful seafood! We had such a great dinner trying multiple dishes and everything was amazing. The staff is also super helpful in Italian and English if needed. The wine selection was on point with many local Ligurian wines to choose from. Restaurant is large with very dynamic seating options for all preferences. Will absolutely come back.

Outstanding food, wine and service. We had the mixed antipasto starter. Everything was a delight, but the grilled anchovies was really something extra. Followed by spaghettoni with a juicy and tender lobster, and grilled octopus with a delicate and beautiful carrot and ginger puré. The potatoes in the last dish was a bit on the salty side, but it balanced out when we ate the very nice Sicilian dessert with 3 different dishes in one. The room/surroundings on the upper floor (where the hotel also serves breakfast and light dinners) was not as cosy as the rooms on the bottom floor. Too bad we couldn't sit there. Hopefully next time!

Walked over an hour to have the opportunity to ear best farinata in Genoa and they closed an hour early :( hours posted were till 2:30 .. got there at 1:30 , feet so tired and very disappointed

Great spot to try a selection of typical savory pies. The woman working the counter kindly allowed me to try a selection of different offerings that they had that day while the gentleman prepared a fresh batch of Farinata. The Zucca tart and farinata were incredible. I also tried the tart with ricotta and chard, the polpettone, some panissa and frisceu, and the ceci and chard soup. All was delicious, and the folks working allowed me to sit comfortably in the small space without any rush on a rainy day. Good value and not at all expensive. Definitely recommend.

They definitely live up to their reputation. The farinata is crispy on the top with a beautiful golden color. Their farinata is very popular and yet the owner is very honest by charging a very fair price when they could have drove up the prices. I am confident with products that come from honest business man.

Unfortunately the lady was rude to us. We asked for a few things, which we’re out of stock. We looked into the window and then went back in to order and she just ignored me. I tried to be polite, used my basic Italian, but she mustn’t be interested in tourists. What a shame, I was looking forward to trying.

Antico Forno della Casana isn’t just about great focaccia — it’s about genuine hospitality. I reached out to place an order for late pickup, and they were incredibly accommodating and responsive. The focaccia was, of course, amazing — golden, fresh, and deeply flavorful. But what stood out most was their kindness and availability, making the whole experience feel personal and appreciated. Highly recommend not only for the food, but for the warmth behind the counter. Grazie mille!

Great little bakery with the best focaccia! It was still slightly warm, crisp, chewy yet soft! The staff spoke English and were very helpful.

Visited after saw recommendation on a You Tube video and boy did not disappoint. Described as the best focaccia and farinata in town and cannot disagree. Both excellent, the farinata is nothing like I have enjoyed before. Super friendly staff and very reasonable priced.

One of my favorite bakery places among those I've visited in all of Italy. Everything is so fresh, you can smell things baking from blocks away and get lured in by the aromas alone. Very good focaccia. We picked some up to eat along the street headed back to our apartment, and then used the rest to make toasted avocado focaccia for our daughters. Awesome!

Absolutely beautiful, so fresh, delicate and light tasting. The prices are ridiculous for the quality you get. Absolutely outstanding, I will be visiting everyday whilst I'm in Genoa.

The dishes are great, well balanced and very tasty. However, the overall experience is diminished by a very hasty service, crowded seating, little attention from the staff and a alcohol free drinks menu consisting of water, fanta and cola. This last fact was also noticed by a pregnant lady next to us and she did not appreciate it. How can you have 20 wines but only 3 alcohol free options in 2025?

A fantastic restaurant, with great service and food. A booking is recommended, but as a couple we managed to get one of the tables in the street outside. The menu is simple and delicious, with amazing pesto pasta, and seafood. They have an excellent range of local wines from the region. Do not skip dessert, the lemon sorbet was the most amazing, perfect, sweet and sour, light and fluffy sorbet that I have ever eaten. The sorbet was life changing. If I could buy a tub of this sorbet I would. An excellent palette cleanser at the end of the delicious meal.

Food was good - enjoyed the lasagne and the fish and potato salad starter but service was way too fast, which is great for hungry souls who just want to eat and go. For those who want to have a proper socialising meal, I feel the pace is too rush and tables are too closed together - can overhear conversations and wine got knocked off the table as someone was passing by the table.

Last meal in Genoa and was a greatest one for me. One thing that really stood out to me was the flavor balance - unlike some other places I've tried, the dishes here weren't overly salty, which I really appreciated. A place where you can try Genoese specialties, but there are only a few dishes. The homemade pasta with pesto is excellent, the steak tartare is not spicy enough for my taste. The cod dish was delicious. The dessert is excellent! Although the space is very small, everything is nicely laid out and organized.

Decent restaurant. Food is alright and service is good. Nothing extraordinary to write home about. Is on the pricier side, plus the outdoor dining area is very close to the highway so it can get loud.

Staff were super friendly and kind here, stepped in for lunch and we were amazed by the big portions. The fried fish antipasto was delicious, we also got the pesto trofie which was a little plain, maybe some extra protein or vegetables would’ve been nice. The restaurant was quite small but they’ve packed it with theme trinkets and history which I enjoyed.

This is probably a popular restaurant among locals. The service was excellent, and the seafood and homemade genovese sauce were delicious. However, the menu changes seasonally, so even if you check reviews, the same dishes may not be available.

Arguably the best dining experience we had during this trip to Italy. The food was delicious and well-presented, the staff were super friendly and numerous for a small restaurant, and the decor was funky and quirky. The highlight for us was their Nuvola (cloud in english) dessert - a sort of chocolate cake with coconut cream. We ended up ordering 3 haha. It is a more of a non-traditional trattoria but hit the mark on all accounts. Would be wise to make a reso, but we managed to get a table last minute on a rainy day

A quite hidden pearl at the port near the main road but there was absolutely no need to hide - the food was superb, especially the gnochetti will stay in mind as the best dish of the 3 day trip to genova! The service staff was very friendly and attentive, despite the restaurant being busy. It was a lovely evening which I´ll keep in mind fondly :) Reservation recommended

I went to Genoa specifically to try this restaurant whilst I travelled through Italy during Christmas. I was served by Barbi, who was very polite and friendly, also she spoke perfect English so was able to explain the menu in detail. The seafood was amazing and the price was very good for high quality food. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

I enjoyed the hole in the wall ambient from this place. I saw some locals stopping by for a quick meal plus some tourists. The hostess spoke limited English but expect not much. The menu is handwritten in Italian only. I suggest to study it in advance. (Attached) I liked that the chef actually serves the food since it’s not a big restaurant and also checks on you whether you liked the dish or not. Genova is the origin of basil pesto so I recommend trying some pesto pasta. I wish I could try the fried seafood that many ordered at the restaurant but I was alone and I couldn’t eat so much. I’ll try that next time!

Great place. I had only a seafood platter and a tiramisu but they made me want to try other dishes. Fish and shrimp were fresh and savory. Tiramisu was so thick and delicious, and I’ve tried my fair share. Loved the ambience. The place seems to be a local favorite of the elderly, and you can always count on them being on to something.

Great place, exceptional service and the food was truly amazing! I opted for the octopus with artichokes and tiramisu for dessert. I would say this restaurant serves authentic local cuisine. Overall, everything was fantastic!

Very tasty food.Maybe the best restaurant in Genoa. We wanted a lactose-free dish, and the chef came to ask us what would be suitable for cooking. A very nice gesture. He prepared us a kind of pasta with tomato sauce and tuna. The lady who serves is so kind. Low prices.

Worst pasta of whole Italy. We asked for two plates of pasta pomodoro, a food I had hundreds of times in all over Italy and in the region as well. It tasted like the worst kind of canned ready made pasta. My friend ate is because we were starving, but I decided to just not have dinner rather. We also asked for no cheese, got it either way. I asked for a discount for the horrible food I didn’t touch, but didn’t get any.

Normally I'm not giving less than 4 stars, but here I must. The food was good, not amazing but good. The thing is that the waiter/owner of the restaurant was really rude. We felt like he doesn't want to serve us, like he is the boss and we are little kids that know nothing about food. He was rushing us to choose from the menu. Normally we would stand up, say something and leave. But in this case we were with a bigger group. Something else to be aware of, if you end up deciding to go there, is at the moment of paying your bill. He wanted to trick us into paying double service fees. Thanks to one of our friends he changed the bill. There is a lot of similar, cute, little restaurant in the area, so don't waste your time or good spirits here. Definitely not recommended.

We had a fantastic experience for lunch, they are very kind and friendly. We ordered classic Genoa pastas that were very fresh and delicious as well as a special seafood carpaccio that was outstanding. Best Italian food we’ve ever had. Highly recommend!!

Was given a suggestion by a local to come and try this place. We met in a line up at the museum. So as a tourist we made the 15 min walk from our Airbnb to this lovely & charming Resto. Had read some Google reviews and chatted with our lovely server who is originally from the Phillapines. She suggested the seafood linguini with a paring with a local white white. This was a delicious start , we were given water & bread too. The kitchen was kind enough to split into 2 plates with a huge amount of clams & mussels. Both plates also had some shrimp & the taste was ideal & quantity ideal for 2. Our main was the fresh white fish with potatoes, tomatoes, olives & pine nuts. We asked for some lemon and that finished out the dish very well. Chef had made a tender & tasty dish that we enjoyed till the end. Too full for dessert but really enjoyed coming on a quiet Sunday evening…very good value for money 👍Thanks to Davide for the recommendation.

I stumbled upon this place by roaming around the streets of Genova across the Porto Antico, and it was just the perfect discovery. I tried the Ligurian and local classic fresh homemade pasta with pesto (Mandilli al pesto Genovese), which was simply exquisite! I also had the grilled octopus paired with potato purée and squid ink. It was one of the tastiest dishes I tried on my trip to Italy. Kudos to the waitress who recommended it. The prices at Le Mani in Pasta were affordable per Italian standards, and the staff was very friendly.

Very nice place. People help with translation to English and make very key recommendations. I managed to find a parking slot on the street, and in front of the restaurant, there were some. Reservation in advance is a must. We changed our plans for 3 days to have place.

Booked on the basis of reviews and was not disappointed.plenty of choice plus chefs specials too many to take in. Seafood is their speciality and it is superb. Generous starter portions and the octopus and tuna I had was seared to perfection. Cater for celiac sufferers like myself and gluten free bread was available. Suggest you take a taxi.

Hidden Gem in Albaro! Beautiful for romantic dinners

Good food, nice location and kind staff. The lunch menu is affordable, while dinner is only à la carte. It is a bit outside of the city center, which also means less tourists, at least during the working week. Either way I think we will go back soon.

Perfect Italian restaurant. The host is very friendly and the service is great. About the food nothing to say except that it was amazing. Traditional Italian food at it's best.

Both the soup and the pasta were absolutely delicious. The house wine was also super fine! It was so hot in the restaurant, it was a little uncomfortable but nothing else to complain about!

We were served fast and friendly. The food was delicious but the dessert was not their main strength. It was to sweet and a bit much for the level of sweetness. They also forgot to serve the coffee but after asking a second time they brought it right away. The house wine (white wine) was a 10/10 😊 I would go again but only for salty stuff. We paid 70€ for 2 people

Our favorite dining experience during our visit to Genova, and up there for the best dining experiences I've had all year. The service was great, they were able to accommodate our limited Italian language skills and were very hospitable throughout the meal. But beyond that, the food was EXCEPTIONAL! All four of us thoroughly enjoyed every course of our meal. And the steak tenderloin was one of the most tender, and delicious cuts of meat I have ever eaten. If you are visiting Genova, make sure you dine at Gaia Vini & Cucina for an amazing example of Genovese dining and Italian hospitality.

Really good home-made food at a very reasonable price! The servings were abundant and the service is really good. They were able to accommodate me even without reservations and didn’t rush me to finish even if I was alone. It’s now one of my favorite places in Genova!

Excellent restaurant slightly hidden away in an alley. We had a generous portion of fish which came with sliced potatoes and a very authentic tomato and olive based sauce that was a good balance of salty and sour. The fettuccine was delicious - couldn’t place the sauce and it had clams and basil. The fresh stir-fried artichokes were also generous in portion and so delicious. Great service. The staff could not speak English so ordering was a bit of pot luck which turned out well and judging by the clean plates on other tables is consistently so.

Very bad service. The waitress that took care of us couldn't cope with stress, and it seemed like she took it out on us. We ordered an antipasto starter (deep fried zucchini flowers with shrimps, cheese and a saffron sauce) and some house wine. No problem with the service to this point, and the starter was actually divine (hence 2 stars instead of 1). From there on, the experience got worse. We had to wait around 45 minutes for the other two dishes to be served, and they didn't even arrive at the same time (as promised). First, the ravioli with their "special" ragu arrived. There was nothing special about that ravioli. It tasted more like something you could buy from the supermarket. Then, after 5-10 minutes, the traditional dried fish in a broth with potatoes arrived, and the broth was almost cold. We told the waitress that it was cold and that we wanted them to heat it up again. She didn't speak english well enough so she didn't understand what we meant, and ignored us for at least 10-15 minutes. Of course we don't expect people to speak fluent english, but instead of trying to communicate in other ways or use other words, she just got irritated with us. We even had to bring the plate to the kitchen ourselves. Finally, she understood what we meant and put the plate in the microwave oven. But she did it with a childish "annoying tourists"-attitude, which was totally uncalled for. Now, the dish was warmer but it was extremely bland and boring. In all this time, we didn't even get one "I'm sorry". We had to go inside to pay the bill because she was not even looking in our direction after the cold dish incident, and without a word she just printed out the bill and put it on the counter. We left without even saying good-bye. Very unfortunate, as the antipasto starter and the beginning of the evening was so promising.

The dessert with powder sugar was fantastic!!! Canola,too! Just go :-) All was all for 9,5 €

We tried different foccacia, the best for me was with cheese and chickpeas flour. Small place, but locals are coming here to eat, so it says that the place is high quality :)

I liked not only the food, very taste, also the concept of a place with the ambition to be sustainable and environmental friendly. I am still sorry for the many chickens though. I recommend a bigger choice for vegetarian.

Excellent free range chicken dishes. My wife had the large chicken salad with fries. I had half a spicy marinade chicken with onion rings. Both had a beer, soft drinks also available. Super friendly staff and spotlessly clean casual eating space. Also windows open for fresh air, and outdoor seating available as well. Very good value and generous portions. Lots of meal deals and 10% off many too. Very nice experience.

Ive eaten expensive and cheap in Italy, but this is just the best place to grab a meal, whole chicken for 12 euros is enough food for 2 people, also you can order like half a chicken spicy and other half classic. Tastes amazing, 5/5 , eaten there multiple times.

Okay food at an okay price. The Beyond burger was otherwise good but had a really thick and bland bun and the ”maxi size” Caesar salad was quite small and the dressing didn’t really taste like a Caesar dressing. Not sure if it was supposed to but anyway. Bonus points for all-you-can-drink still and sparkling water for 50 cents.

Nice wine bar in the centre of the old town - not far from the cathedral. We tried a local red from west of Liguria - €8 per glass.

The tiny cafe, hidden from crowded street. On first view nothing special, but the food (lasagna) and wine (Liguria dry) not just amazing. It's better then perfect. Fresh, tasty and great balance of taste. Totally recommend

Really excellent little wine bar. The atmosphere is relaxed but lively, the food is flawless and the wine selection is interesting, delicious and very reasonable. Just let the guy guide you through the list and be prepared to try everything. One note: if you’re trying to find the place outside of their opening ours the shutters will be down with no obvious branding/signage. Don’t give up though! Just a come back when their open - it’ll be worth it.

Tucked away in a little side street, it is not the easiest to find but well worth it when you do. We asked for local wine and had lots to choose from. The food is also delicious. It has a lovely ambiance and we will definitely be back. A hidden gem of Genova.

A piece of history of Genova. It is a small shop family handled, here you can find all kind of spiciest from around the world. If you are a local, then you can get some spicy as a present, but if you're a 'Foresto', then forget it. However a worth visiting place of Genoa.

Their products are simply amazing and you can find all sorts of amazing spices and teas. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable, polite, attentive and very careful (which in pandemic times it is refreshing to see).

That’s where I get my coffee and spices. The also have tea, chocolate and other tasty things. A truly unique store. Well worth the visit even if you are just passing by.
